unfortunately I do think this particular misconception comes from the way some of the writers themselves discuss it on socmed but imo thats not actually how they chose to portray it at pretty much any point in the show

Can't stand people acting like Garmadon only got brought back as his Oni side and his Dragon side is still out there/in the Departed Realm somewhere when Harumi LITERALLY SAYS THAT HE HAS THE POWER OF ONI AND DRAGON FLOWING THROUGH HIM. GUYS.

#its actually kinda crazy bc even in SOG they pretty explicitly spell out what the process of ressurecting garm will do #mystake says there will be no light left in him #harumi says his soul will be gone #its obvious that what they ressurected was a partial version of garmadon without certain parts of his emotional capacity #for sure some of that has alignment with his oni side. but like to describe it as purely his oni side just seems nonsensical #and then its further confused by things like his ressurected self regaining certain emotional capacity #and having the ability to grow wings in his oni form #ppl view this man too binaristically grrr
