this will hopefully not be complete word salad. bc my brains fried already, but my views on petscop characters are esoteric and best and downright incomprehensible at worst. so idk how legible this will be JDKSHSKSBSK

uhh ill start with like. jill is significantly older than anna and lina. rainers actually fairly close in age to anna.

rainers biological dad isnt in the picture and actually went missing a few years after him and jill divorced. it runs in the family i guess. but since tom was there longer hes only ever called him dad, and both jill and him took the last name hammond when they got married. and mike was actually an accident! a welcome one tho. jill and tom were in their 40s and rainer was like 16 or so.

they were very close tho! he was very close with his immediate family. for the brief time he was in college he still lived at home despite the commute.

mike would sit and watch him work on the game all the time. he wanted him to teach him how to code (thats why he created the "petscop kids" after school program! at first anyway...) but 5-6 year olds dont exactly have the attention span for explaining how the dev kit console works. unless theyre belle i guess. but he did get into art! and considering rainers also an artist he encouraged it. mike would sometimes draw his own pets to be put in the game, but since it never went past evencare they never showed up. he did sorta base toneth on mike, and that was before he based any of the other pets on other family members.

mike went missing shortly after rainers mental health was declining. he ran away after some argument with his mom, and nobody remembers what the argument was even about. since this was after marvin hit the dog with the car, and he was beginning to experience psychosis, he immediately made the connection and believed marvin had something to do with it. the cops found it a little suspicious that rainer somehow just knew he had been struck by a car, and he was the only suspect for quite a while. tom had to vouch for him pretty hard and get him a lawyer.

as for vaguer things. the newmaker plane was started in an attempt to find out where mike wouldve run to. he was already recording movements in game, so he put all of mikes in game behaviors into a to scale version of their town, trying to train it to show him where he couldve gone. this obviously didnt work. didnt help that it was completely flat terrain and like had only their house, the marks house, the school and like a couple roads. it actually lead him to the opposite side of the town than where his body was located.

marvin is ALSO severely mentally ill and was convinced that care was lina reborn before any of this happened. obviously anna didnt believe that since shes still. yknow. alive. but rainer introduced the A/B/NLM concept to him, and they both began to believe care was just lina A reborn. pre traumatic event lina. they were both trying to see if they could somehow force something like that to occur, in an attempt to bring mike A back. when belle didnt work, they figured she was too old, so they moved to care. part of this whole "changing your past" thing involved plucking out her eyebrows (lina A had trich) and essentially trying to reenact aforementioned traumatic event. thats why marvin kidnapped her to keep her in the school. and it didnt work! just traumatized the fuck outta the kid. they never had the chance to do anything to "bring mike back" by the end of it, which lead to Bathroom Tomb Event. however, last belle heard, he was pretty certain paul was actually mike A. she tried her best to keep that from paul before they became distant.

i feel like the core of a lot of this is that i really dont believe that the rebirthing process does anything at all. with enough manipulation you may start developing false memories, sure, but its not actually working. in retrospect it makes rainers character a lot sadder. just a terrified kid trying in vain to bring his baby brother back. its not easy losing someone so young in such a horrible way without knowing who took his life.

I literally only started Housewives to humor a friend but then it got me like immediately lol. I’m not current on either tbh tho. Housewives I’m on season… four? The one where Carlton and Joyce joined. And VPR I’m on season two. I’m trying to watch to keep up with both so that they’re like around the same time ish for any crossover content.

General thoughts, I’m in loooove with Lisa Vanderpump. She’s so sexy 😭😭😭 and she seems like the most genuine and normal of them? Hate that they’re all turning on her rn where I’m at in the season. Like leave her alone!!! She hasn’t done anything wrong ever.

Season one was really funny with the insane Kyle and Camille drama. Probably the only time Kyle has ever been justified imo sjdhdd. It was really cool how Camille turned around and became the least dramaful person over the subsequent seasons tho. Like she ended up leaving the show but Good For Her. It sounds like she had some like capital T Therapy and became way more mature and mellow.

Kyle was fun in like season one? But she’s been kind of pearl clutchy and annoying since idk. It’s good drama ig. But I’m neutral on her. I liked her relationship with Lisa a lot though rip it made a lot of sense why Lisa wanted to step back. And it’s been really funny how Kyle’s legit just acting like a jealous ex over it and being like “but why don’t you love me anymore :C” I was very 👀👀 when they kissed in Paris as a “joke” tho.

Adrienne seemed really chill and level headed at first at least next to the others and then got bizarrely touchy by the end. I love drama but hers seemed really petty all the time, so I was glad she left the show. Also she like transparently absolutely LOATHED her husband from the first episode, so I’m surprised it took her that long to get divorced.

Also past season but the Taylor thing was scary!!! It was insane seeing the “woman yelling at cat” meme in context and it’s like in the middle of her mental breakdown due to her abusive af husband.

I used to like Brandi a lot but she’s spiraled pretty bad? Like on intro she seemed genuinely really nice and just vaguely without a filter (same) and everyone was ganging up on her for objectively really minor things or interpreting her in bad faith all the time. But idk she got genuinely super racist with Joyce. And now she’s being mean to Lisa 💔

Carlton’s fun but insane. Love her weird goth house and how she and her husband are both clearly sleeping with the nanny. Also just all the very gay moments with Brandi and it’s hilarious how much she seems to hate Kyle for no reason?? i think what's interesting is that the writers kind of wrote themselves into a corner at the end of S1. like, from what i know about League lore (which admittedly isn't much), jayce and viktor in league have very different life philosophies and also both are not..... good people. them becoming enemies was very natural given how different they were.

but in arcane, the writers made them both very good men who ultimately are philosophically aligned and canonically love each other (in whichever way you wish to interpret that love). it's as if the writers liked both of them too much to make either of them wrong or bad. so in S2, if they wanted a divorce arc to match the lore, the only way they could conceivably do it was to make viktor brainwashed. incredible. ridiculous but incredible. i have no complaints.

I am still so fascinated with how in Not Me The Series, the Gang probably really disliked Black as a person but worshipped him as a concept

I totally believe Sean that he couldn't stand Black and thought he was an Asshole. But I also believe him when he said Black gave him a reason to live.

Same goes for Yok. I am convinced -by them- that they would throw hands with Black given the opportunity.

But Sean has bigger things to worry about. He lost almost everything to some narcissistic politician. And he must have felt very helpless and hopeless. And hope is a strong thing, especially in its absence. Black just comes along and suggests they target that specific politician. Does that make Black likeable as a person? No. But suddenly Sean isn't alone in a fight. In fact, he has a whole crew at his back. And different from Black, they are actually nice too! Thanks Black, for bringing this together lol

Similar is Yok's situation. He witnesses the unfairness towards his mother on a daily basis. He is angry and he can't help, he can't change the situation. But targeting a politician who is part of the problem is something!

And Black isn't just determined, he's ruthless. He will go in and push through what he thinks is appropriate and he isn't afraid and he doesn't care for the consequences. And to the others? That must look so strong. They probably never consider that it is partially because Black has already lost so much. The gang most likely only know that Black's parents are divorced and he has beef with his mother, who is in such a good position that Black still benefits from the privileges. They don't know he had long ago lost something of himself when he was separated from his Twin. A twin that was so connected to him, he would have had the power to kill him but, as is turns out, can also bring him back to the living. Black is broken enough by this loss that he, just like White, doesn't even mention his Twin to others. Not to mention that his father doesn't even care enough to check up on if he's still living. All of this also plays into how the relationship between Black and Todd is and what it means to them but that's maybe for another post I'll never make lmao

Anyways, the point is that to the Gang, Black is mostly this force that keeps them fighting too. And the moment he said he would quit, something broke.

This stance towards him, to worship him, must have confused them so much. Especially Yok and Sean were not sure how to deal with a Black that is a person, when so far he had been an Idea.

Personally, I would have loved to see more of that. I don't think we see enough of Yok and White and we see just enough of Gumpa to figure out his very reliable mentor role. But the show could have easily benefitted from having one or two more episodes for the character dynamics alone.

And then there's Gram, who sees Black more as an idol but also as friend, tho there is no doubt that he also respects him in a way where he would never try and get in Black's way. Black and Gram seemed to be the only ones that had a real relationships when looking at Black's relations. And yet, Gram has obvious expectations towards him, so much that when White knows shit about their subject, he assumes it's a joke because Black must know all of this. Making Black still his idolized friend maybe. However, it speaks volumes about how he saw Black more as a person than the others did when he immediately helped Black when he had his first breakdown after almost dying.

Anyways, these are just pointless rantings of how I saw and interpreted the relationship between mostly Yok/Sean and Black before he was White. I don't even know where I was going with this. Have a great day!

I know we all agree that Howard was a shitty father but what’s your thoughts on Maria as a mother? I know we’ve seen nothing from her/her parenting but doesn’t it say a lot that she stayed in a marriage even tho her child was abused and neglected. I was gonna let this sit for a hot minute to work on homework, but I am not gonna be able to think about anything else. SO. Thinking with the MCU because that's the canon I'm familiar with; comic and cartoon fans, feel free to have thoughts in the notes.

Firstly, important to point out that, like you said, we know very little about Maria as a mother and as a person. What we do know is indirect; we don't really see her parenting Tony, we just see bits and snippets of Tony's opinions and memories of her; she exists almost entirely in the negative space of her son. So there are probably a hundred different interpretations of her one can get from canon, and not be strictly more or less wrong than anyone else.

I do think it's unfair to immediately conclude that she stayed with her husband for money. We don't know about her personal financial situation, whether or not she had any money or her own, and what her perspectives on finances and divorce were. So while I won't say it wasn't a possibility, I don't think we can cleanly conclude this is what happened based on canon.

Second, we know more about Howard - we know that he was at best neglectful towards Tony (particularly emotionally), at worst physically abusive (based on a comic directly related to and inspired by the movies, which, admittedly, I have not read in full). We know also that Tony had a lot of complicated emotions towards his father, which is not strange or uncommon in abusive relationships. Abusive people aren't abusive all the time because they know no one would put up with them forever otherwise. "The cycle of abuse" exists for a reason. Add to that Howard's death, and I think as the movies get on (*cough* and as the writers showed less and less of an understanding of Tony and his relationships *cough*) Tony gains more of a rosy view of Howard that Howard himself does not earn, which also complicates things.

Third - On the other hand, I don't think Tony ever really says anything negative about Maria, even in the earlier movies when the writers didn't romanticize abusers. In fact, given his memories of her in Civil War and his line "He [Bucky] killed my mom", I would say he probably had a pretty close relationship with his mom, or at least better than he had with Howard. So I don't think she was abusive towards Tony.

So, fourth: why did Maria stay with Howard? Sadly, there are a lot of reasons people stay with abusers even when it becomes clear what they are, and one of those reasons is that it is often more dangerous to leave. Abusers are likely to become violent, even deadly; they stalk their victims, make it so they feel like there's no safe place to go, and often there isn't. Situations are further complicated by children - now, they have to try to protect another, defenseless person as well as themselves. Keep in mind also that an abused partner is likely to not have close relationships outside of their spouse precisely because an abuser will do everything they can to isolate their victim. (This is also one of the reasons why victims often are not believed - the only people they can tell are those who've been hand-selected by their abuser, who are friendly with them, who see that abuser as a "good guy" who would never do the things you said!)

Even if we assume Howard was never physically abusive towards Tony and Maria - even if he was never directly abusive to Maria herself - he was extremely rich, with close ties to SHIELD, making him a VERY powerful man. If she tried to leave, what power would she have to protect her son? With his resources, it would probably not have been difficult for him to get complete custody, even if just to punish her for leaving, or to keep as much control as he could over his son. I interpret Maria as someone who was likely a victim of abuse herself, and truly loved her son, and tried to protect and care him. Whether or not she was able to do so was not a reflection on the victim, but the abuser.

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

The most straightforward among main three of Wammy’s boys. His interpretation of own feelings is excellent and he makes sure everybody around knows about them. If he hates you, you’ll feel a burning hole in your back whether it is because of intense staring or literal bullet. If he loves you, you’ll be surrounded by abundance of affection.

When it comes to person he loves, Mello is very vocal. Words do matter, they oblige you and put responsibility on your shoulders. That’s why he loves to brag about his dearest to the closest friends, and even acquaintances know about this one special person. Another important thing is nickname, which Mello chooses based on the brightest features of character/appearance. Baby, honey, dearest are common too but he feels that  they deserve exceptional treatment and exceptional nickname.

He absolutely loves physical affection. Skin to skin contact gives him weird sensation right in the head as if he can physically feel neurons releasing dopamine. It also helps with keeping his anxiety under control.

By the way, sometimes inferiority complex gets the best of him, and in these moments he is extremely capricious. For the same reason Mello may act like his loved one deserves everything, while he can go with bare minimum.

He is great at reassurances. The second he realizes his loved one is insecure, upset, lost, the gears in his head start zealously turning. The words he uttered are always spoken in the right tone and able to touch the necessary strings of the soul. At the same time Mello always has doubts in the efforts made.

B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

Friendship with Mello carries spirit of 80s-90s. It’s a wild ride he once invited you to and then you couldn’t get off. Stuff gets messy, stuff gets hot, but it doesn’t matter until you both have fun.

He will roast you so much and will never get offended if you roast him in response. Mello aims for a good laugh only. His favorite entertainment is to go shopping together just to critic each other’s outfits.

You better move that body when he drags you on the dance-floor. Blasting music and colorful lights make him feel like a fish in the water so Mello will try to teach you dance. Yes, from the easiest ones to Michael Jackson’s moonwalk.

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

Cuddles are essential for relationship with Mello. He enjoys snuggle up to his loved one on calm evenings, when there’s nothing to disturb the peace. Warmness of loved one’s head on his chest and smell of their skin calm him down better than chamomile-mint tea. He loves to listen to the sound of another person’s heartbeat as well.

Mello has one pet peeve tho: frequent head pats and hair stroking lead to greasy hair and this is exactly what he hates. If they put hand on his beautiful blond locks, he will take them by the finger and place their palm on his lips. This is a small but very loud gesture.

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

The thought of settling down     never popped up in his head. Mello is way too young, he wants to live his     life to the maximum without thinking about another dirty plate in the sink     or how long it takes to make boiled eggs. Based on this you can say he     doesn’t like to do any housework. His cooking skills are decent but he     prefers creative mess to boring order. Mello likes to help someone in     kitchen when he is in the good mood.

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

Nervous type he is, Mello doesn’t want to end this relationship. But he has to. But he can’t. He is indecisive and hesitates on the way to them. Hell, if they are in good mood or overly excited, Mello won't say a word about break up. In his mind it has to be like pulling a tooth – painful but necessary, - but real life doesn’t work that way. When the moment finally comes he cannot keep his voice steady. Mello tries to end it as fast as possible and hold back a scream because yelling at his loved one is something he promised he’ll never do. Actually, I can see him doing something impulsive to blow off steam. Breaking random stuff, for example, or shooting bottles.

F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

No. Getting married is too much. He can’t see wedding bells ring no matter how hard he tries. Every day he becomes more confident in thought that strong sincere relationship do not need bureaucracy in the form of marriage. The only time you need a marriage certificate is during the divorce process. Mello isn’t 100% sure but pretty close to this percentage. If his loved one insists on marriage he will immerse in conflicting feelings. Then his next actions will depend on many factors but Mello definitely will try to explain his  position and convince them in its     validity.

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

Mello is on the rougher side when it comes to both physical and emotional affection. Childhood in the orphanage, involvement with the mafia, psychological issues, and responsibility placed on his shoulders taught it is necessity to be tough to survive in this world. When he lets his guard down nasty inner voice keeps reminding Mello about situations in which it could be a critical mistake. This leads us to the next point.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

Here he comes, another  touched-starved male with trust issues. Mello needs time to get used to soft touch of other’s person hands. Sometimes he puts too much strength in his hugs and it may come across a little rough. Likes them anyway, takes initiative 90% of the time.

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

It completely and entirely depends on his gut feeling. Something elusive tells him whether to trust a person or not, it’s not a rational decision. As soon as this strange sensation appears, he will immediately calmly utter three treasured words, and it’s not even so important for him to hear them in return. Mello just wants another person to know that they have become an integral part of his life.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

In addition to being easily jealous, Mello is scary as hell when someone is hitting on his loved one. If he witness such insolence, he will be extremely vocal and, well, unexpectedly rude. He is not afraid to get physical too.

If it’s his loved one who is acting flirtatious, Mello will be pissed off as well. His feelings are explosive mix of disappointment, anger, malcontent. It’s better to get off his way and let him cool a little before trying to explain anything or make excuses. In a fit of jealous rage he may say some terrible things which he’ll regret later.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

The most passionate kisser imaginable. He loves to kiss and he knows how to do it properly so why would you complain. He tends to forget about personal boundaries in process so make out sessions can get really… touchy. Anyway, loves to shower his loved one with kisses all over them, but lip smooches are his favorite. At the same time Mello doesn’t care where they kiss him because of solid fact he is being kissed.  

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

He is so awkward. Calm/gentle/kind children are ok, but if he has to deal with angry little shit who throws tantrum whenever possible, he will flip out. Being around his own children is more or less bearable but don’t expect much when it’s someone else's kids annoying poor man. Mello definitely will teach his favorite one all of the swear words as a joke.

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

On a free day no matter who wakes up first you will spend another hour in the bed cuddling. Then life will pour cold water on you when Mello gets frustrated with making breakfast. This may grow into small quarrel but most of the time he pulls himself together and you two find a satisfying compromise. During breakfast on work week you rarely hear any plans for the day from him but he stays curious about your schedule just to see if he can catch you for a lunch or a short call. Nothing special, really.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

Night is his favorite time of the day. Neon signs, coolness, slight buzz of a big city work as a charm on Mello, he feels free from people’s staring, empty chatter, and daily duties. If he could show the world as he sees it to his loved one, at least approximate image, dim reflections of pale moon in the high-rises’ glass, he would. So to do it he takes them on late night walks and rides, new places every time.  

Cafes and restaurants are another of his weaknesses, not only pastry shops, but also small diners with food that would seem boring to many. Take-outs are frequent too because chilling under the lilac sky and stargazing with Mello are 10 out of 10.

Don't let yourself be fooled, he likes to stay inside as much. Thanks to Matt, you’ll spend most of the time playing video-games and drinking pop until one of you starts yawning.

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

Mello is straightforward within adequate limits. You wouldn’t expect person to blur out “I hunt a Kira with my genius rival that works with FBI and Japanese Police” at any point of your movie night anyway, right? He does not pretend and does not resort to excessive secrecy but prefers to reveal facts about himself one by one.

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

Quickly gets angry, quickly cools down. Sadly, he his emotions are too strong and he does not know how to handle them and it often ends in heated argument. Even during a quarrel he feels his actions are hurting you but it’s not something he can stop at the click of a finger. After everything has settled down he is extremely remorseful and tried to make amends but Mello never ever promises to change. Why you make ask? In that case actions speak louder than words.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

Remembers the stupidest things. He can’t remember any important dates like the day you started dating but will remind you about the most embarrassing thing you did in high school. Hell, he forgets your number sometimes but can describe the exact clothes you wore on that rainy day when car splashed you.

Unknown forces help Mello in choosing a birthday present. He has no clue what you wanted and if you wanted anything at all. Surprisingly, it always hits the mark.

Tried to write down “important” stuff about you once. Failed miserably. Decided to never do it again.

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

The first time when they confessed their love to him since Mello rewound this moment in his head like a hundred times. He remembers what color sky was and what song was playing on the background and those little details made this moment more beautiful than the masterpieces of the Louvre. Joy overwhelmed him and he couldn’t get this picture off his head for a few days too.

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

Not that paranoid protective and obviously doesn’t need to be protected However, he will be fluttered if person showed that they care. He will freak put if they don’t answer his calls or messages for hours and in the case of real danger he will take that gun and shoot someone as a warning.

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

He puts more effort in the beginning of relationship and its amount slowly declines with time. The closer he gets, the less he needs to try to cover up his sharp edges and imperfections or try to distract person with some kind of mask, mannerism, maneuver. Playing nice in early stages of dating gives him chance to throw the bait, to show he is able to be that datable material. A completely different question is whether a person wants to stay with him in spite of his inner demons.

Mello likes to surprise them with something special on anniversaries. Expect romantic late night motorcycle ride, car dates with take-out, and, of course, gifts. He likes to make/buy a presents person will like, something they wanted for a long time but couldn’t afford.

Acts extra-extra after anger tantrums. He knows he fucked up, okay, he just can’t control himself. Yes, it’s a lot easier to cover up consequences with huge bouquet and box of chocolates than to correct behavior learned over the years.

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

If you ever had to deal with person stubborn as a donkey, you’ve seen demo-version of Mello’s behavior. Making compromises is not his strategy, so get ready for “this is the only right option”, “I said what I said”, “Yeah, go ahead, I’ll do it my way”. He immediately begins to sulk and spill his sassiness all over the place if things don’t go his way.

Doubtful impulsive decisions are most likely the cause of constant arguing and problem mentioned above. At first he does something (to say the least) stupid with impressive confidence. Then, after hours or days, his brains finally comes up with reasonable arguments but now it’s too late to back out.

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

It’s obvious Mello likes to take care of himself. His sense of style is indisputable, he sticks to it and never fails to embellish the picture with shiny jewelry or other accessories. There may be dirt on his leather boots and soot on fur hood but they only complete his conceived image.

Probably has one company from which he buys all the hair care products. Feeling of easy combing through smooth silky hair before bed is another of his a little happiness.

How does he have such perfect face despite eating chocolate everyday? Mello is fond of beauty creams, masks, serums, and he doesn’t allow a single pimple ruin his day. Also, he uses different healing creams to soften the scars.

He would love to mess around with loved one trying new beauty products. There’s nothing better than taking care of each other.

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

Yes, yes, yes. It doesn’t matter why they are not in his life anymore, he feels devastated. All attempts to distract himself fail as he goes back to thinking about them every five-ten minutes, and not only thinking but overthinking. Sometimes his thoughts throw him back to the past, first meeting, first kiss, and it gnaws Mello even more.

If they left for some reason, he will try to get them back. A chance meeting in the evening is completely planned, he also rehearsed his lines in the head more than a thousand times just to stay calm and avoid going off on tangent.  

If they died, he will attend their grave for a few months. It doesn’t help much. He becomes incredulous and gloomy, scaring everyone around with frequent mood swings and defiant behavior. I can see him growing more actively aggressive and acting like he doesn’t have anything to lose too.

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

Because of his chocolate addiction, Mello has to visit dentist’s office quite frequently. The problem is he hates dentists and everything about them. The sound of a dental drill makes his skin crawl.

Mello can pull off any style, rock any outfit. He can dress up in trash bag and be fabulous as always. You can splash that man with the dirtiest water and he will still shine bright like a diamond. Unholy beauty.

He was that kid that got the highest score on Facebook picky sheet. He hates broccoli, never eats mushrooms, avoids pickles. Name any controversial food – he doesn’t eat it.

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)

Mello can deal with pushy people but manipulators drive him nuts. As soon as he notice the smallest attempt to manipulate him, he will lash out. So you have to be the master manipulator to twist him around your finger or the batshit crazy person to pull an obvious manipulation on him.

Absence of communication. He won’t play mind games and try to guess your thoughts, so you better speak out your mind.

Oh, Mello doesn’t want a person who nods to everything he says. Sharing personal opinions plays a big role in relationships and he won’t agree to lose such way to connect.

Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habit of theirs?)

Mello sticks to adequate sleeping schedule. His lifestyle forces him to break it from time to time but he quickly makes up for sleepless nights. He doesn’t even get moody or irritated. On the contrary, his reactions slow down, and the only thing he is interested in is comfortable bed.

Speaking of comfort, Mello likes to wrap himself in fluffy blankets. The more pillows there are around him, the better his mood will be in the morning.

Dark chocolate rich in magnesium can help you sleep better so Mello prefers switch from milk chocolate to dark in the evening. It is not uncommon to find a wrapper foil on the nightstand in his bedroom.

Too Attached

Request: Hey. Can I ask for a Bruce Wayne imagine where he and the reader are married for quite some time, but are having problems and maybe are considering a divorce? How the boys would react to it and stuff. You choose the ending, tho. Thanks so much

Author’s Note: This literally got me so sad as I was writing. I hope this fulfills your request and I hope you guys like it. It was hard to come up with something the Reader and Bruce would fight over, but I got some help from my good friend @loudmouthwally (who’s great, you should check her out if you haven’t) and so now it’s probably x1000 better than it would’ve originally been. Hope you enjoy!

I finally feel like it’s time to go to bed. I look over and pick my phone up, seeing that it’s 3:12 am I figure I should get some sleep as I’ve finally finished another chapter of my book.

As I reach over to take a sip of the water on my nightstand as the door opens. I sigh a little in anger as I try to ignore the problem, but feel the need to say something. “So you finally decided to come home” I mumble as I get myself comfy under the covers.

I hear a huff before the reply, “Y/N, you know it’s not like that.” I hear the sounds of ruffling fabric as I guess Bruce is changing into something to sleep in.

“Sure, sure...” I turn over so I don’t have to face him as I turn my little lamp off.

“What do you mean, sure? What’s that supposed to mean?!” He raises his voice a little, and I sigh knowing that either neither of us are going to sleep, or we’re going to ignore each other again and get some sleep.

“You know what it means Bruce” I try to snuggle further into my blanket to stop the thoughts racing through my mind.

“I know that it means you’re annoyed with me and obviously you don’t want to talk about it.” The bed dips as Bruce huffs again.

I risk a glance over my shoulder and sure enough he’s waiting expectantly. “I’m just tired of this Bruce...” The tears that start to well up in my eyes sting. I don’t want to have this conversation, yet, I know that bottling up our emotions for too long is not good and we’ve been doing that for a while now.

“Of what?” His voice softens, “Of us? Of me?” He puts his hand on my shoulder and turns me to face him, the tears still stinging my eyes, threatening to spill over.

I take a shaky breath before the words just flow out of my mouth without thinking, “Yes, and No... I’m just tired of this lifestyle Bruce!” I start to raise my voice as I sit up so I can look him better in the eye.

Bruce looks as if he’s about to speak but I continue on rambling, “I know- okay? I know that when I married you I married into this lifestyle, your lifestyle which came along with the boys and everything and- and.... I’m just tired of it Bruce! I can’t do this anymore,” oh here come the tears....

“Y/N, you know that I can-” Bruce speaks warily.

“Can’t give up Batman- I know! I know... We’ve had this talk before” I mumble the last part more to myself than anyone.

“Then what does this mean? Do you- Y/N...” Bruce staggers off, lost in thought.

“It means I’m tired Bruce! I’m tired of being alone- we never do anything together anymore, hell, we never even make love anymore, and I’m sick and tired of constantly worrying about you and the boys’ safety! I’m saying I CAN’T- I WON’T wind up seeing you in a body bag. I just can’t! I couldn’t take it! And I don’t know what to do about it. I wait for you to come home every night and am worried sick that something’s wrong constantly...” I look down at my hands which are fidgeting with one another, “maybe we should get a divorce....” I whisper, direly wishing the words hadn’t come out of my mouth the second they had. Wishing, that there was another way. Another solution. Something we could do. 

I look up at Bruce to gauge his reaction, only to find that he’s tense, with a grimace and his lips pulled tightly across his face. “I-If that’s what you want, then I guess....” I instinctively move my hand to place it on his shoulder, but decide against it. 

The night passes on, our conversation seems to slow after that. After I mentioned the possibility of getting a divorce. Eventually we both decided to just give up on our conversation and go to sleep, purposefully scooting to the edges of the bed.

The next morning isn’t easy. As everyone gets ready we all make our way down to the kitchen to eat breakfast.

When I get to the kitchen all the boys look up at me, seemingly expectant of something. “What? What is it? Is there something on my face?” I question, quickly looking towards the sink for a reflection, but it doesn’t work.

“Bruce already left.” Dick mentions monotonously.

This is when I know what’s wrong.

I feel like there’s nothing I can say. What can I say? I don’t know what to tell them, and I know that they know that something is wrong.

“What happened between you and Father?” Damian pipes up as he seems to ask nonchalantly between bites of his cereal.

“We,” I sigh, knowing that there’s no use in lying, they’d find out eventually and honestly, I’ve never been one to lie. “had a fight last night, that’s all.” I try to focus on making myself a bowl of cereal and ignore the looks on their faces which seem to be malicious... That could also just be my minds way of interpreting it because if I’m being honest, I’m still upset from last night.

“Oh we know,” Tim says in a way that makes my stomach sink.

“So what? What’s the outcome? I mean obviously Bruce is still mad at you,” Jason says with a saddened look to his face, making me really worried.

“To be honest, I’m not sure... We discussed some things, but- as of now, I don’t really know.”

“You’re getting a divorce, aren’t you?” Dick accuses.

I give a heavy sigh, “I don’t know! Okay?” I feel the tears threaten to spill over again, not even sure when they welled up exactly, either. “I’m sorry” I whisper, knowing that if Bruce and I did get a divorce, it’d only hurt these boys more, and knowing these boys, they’ve been hurt TOO many times in their young lives.

And I don’t want to be the cause for more. I wipe away a stray tear and turn my back to them to get the milk from the fridge, along with the blueberries.

With that I hear a huff and stomps away from the kitchen, which I know to be Dick’s when he’s angry or upset. Then follows Tim with a sigh.

“Why?” Damian’s voice ask shakily, which is unusual for the boy.

“I can’t take it anymore, Damian. I can’t keep worrying all the time that every night could be the night that one of my sweet boys returns home in a body bag. And that includes your Father.” I look up to see a tear run down Damian’s cheek, which then causes me to cry silently. I look over to Jason and he immediately looks away, not meeting my gaze.

Moments pass. No one moves.

“I understand,” Jason interrupts the silence first.

“What?” I ask as if I hadn’t heard him, but I want to make sure I’m hearing right.

“I understand” Jason says clearly and boldly.

Another couple moments of silence pass before Jason clears his throat and straightens the papers he’s pretending to read. “You don’t want to have to deal with it if any one of us died. I get it- hell, I’d probably do the same in your shoes. But it wouldn’t matter. Getting a divorce that is.” Jason growls.

“Why not? Why wouldn’t it matter?!” Damian doesn’t understand and tries to argue with Jason. Of course it would matter- they’d all be losing the only Mom in their lives that actually did anything for them- that’s why. But of course Jason and I both know that’s not what he meant by that.

“Because what if we died Damian?! She’d still feel JUST as bad if not worse that she left! It wouldn’t matter either way because she’s already attached... and once you’re attached there’s no way to detach... and not even divorce could do that.” Damian understands and backs down, returning to sit in his seat, glancing at me.

He seems to be trying to read me, as if for any proof to deny what Jason had said... but ultimately Jason was right, and there wouldn’t be anything to deny within my countenance. I return to making my cereal, worried about Dick and Tim’s reaction, but also grateful that at least Jason can understand the way I feel.

“I love you, you know that... right?” I offer up before being met with a nod from Jason and a small ‘yes’ from Damian.

“Then don’t leave us,” Damian says a few seconds later, and with that, I don’t know how to respond.

“I can’t promise that Damian” I whisper before I take a bite of my cereal.

The rest of breakfast is in silence. And I don’t know how to proceed with anything. I don’t know if staying or leaving would be better, and I can’t think of any way to fix the way I’m feeling. Bruce would never give up Batman, and my boys would never quit fighting either, it’s a lose-lose scenario and I don’t know which lose would hurt me less.
