Anon Asked:
May I please get more Spooky/Snatcher like reader, hanging out and spooking the fun gang (+Noelle and Berdly) in the Cyber dark world maybe even scaring some salesmen like addisons, spamton, swatch etc by having the thunder crash(? Is that how u say it?) . Also merry Christmas or holidays/whatever. :) Hope I'm not bothering u. Also no I'm not the same anon from that other request.
This post is for Kris! If you're looking for another member of the Fun Gang, Noelle, or Berdly, please go to this post!
Kris & Reader who has Snatcher (A Hat in Time)-esque Dark World appearance and abilities: In a Cyber's World
You're very much out-of-place in this Dark World, but so is Kris; you have a spooky appearance while Kris looks like a simplified knight. It's easy to spot you, since you're a blot of darkness in a bright world.
Your laughter also clues them in on your location, where they find you terrorizing a Plugboy. It doesn't help that you're noodley and look like a Werewire, which made the poor darkner cower more.
For a short while, it's just you and Kris walking around while Susie, Noelle, and Ralsei try recruiting more darkners. During this time, you and Kris explored around Queen's Mansion.
During this time, you spooked away some tasques because of the constant storm effects, skipped some spinning tea puzzles, and surprised some swatchlings. The maice were not scared by you, for some reason.
Entering the Color Cafe, the shopkeep was initially unfazed by you; they had dealt with customers who varied in volume or spoke in different languages in the past, so they didn't mind your booming voice. Despite this, they immediately jumped when the thunder and lightning rang out.
Luckily, neither of you were banned from the cafe, but Swatch had to take a few minutes to compose themself. They then casually noted that soundproof headphones are now available for purchase, which was totally a coincidence!
You and Kris also went to the Trash Zone, since there wasn't a lot to do with the majority of mansion residents hiding from the supposed storm.
Kris had decided to visit an odd shopkeep in the Trash Zone, and for some reason they were taking an awfully long time in exiting the shop. You decided to investigate by hiding in the shadows, only for the shopkeep to scream bloody murder at seeing a pair of eyes staring at him from the dark.
You found out that Kris was taking so long because the shopkeep thought there was a dangerous storm outside, not knowing it was just you. He's now scared of you! * If you casually bring up one of your contracts, he'll be somewhat more terrified of you. For some reason, you think this relates to his sales pitch for [HYPERLINK BLOCKED]...
You two returned to the Mansion to find out that Swatch told the other party members what happened at the cafe. Ralsei has purchased the headphones, if you haven't done so already; he wanted to be a good friend, and he didn't know if the constant thunder and lightning caused headaches or not!

What would web designers do to boost mobile websites?
I these days wrote a weblog post for an internet designer patron approximately page speed and why it matters. What I didn’t know before writing it turned into that her business enterprise became suffering to optimize their cell websites for speed. As a result, she got here lower back to me worried with publishing a put up on a approach her organisation had yet to adopt successfully. She was torn though. She understood how essential cellular web page speeds have been to the user experience and, with the aid of proxy, search engine marketing. However, their awareness has continually been on creating a great-searching and powerful design. Something like web page speed optimization turned into always left to the builders to worry about. In the give up, we decided to maintain on publishing it till they may get their own website in addition to their clients’ sites properly optimized. In the meantime, it were given me thinking: Is there whatever designers can do while creating cellular web sites to help builders optimize for pace? Developers are already optimizing front stop performance with:
Fast net hosting
CDNs
Clean coding practices
Caching
Minification
Image optimization
And more So, is there something left?
To me, this is lots like how search optimization is handled. As a writer, I cope with the on-page optimizations even as the developer I hand content over to does the technical search engine marketing stuff. Web designers and builders can without difficulty address the elements of speed optimization which can be in each in their wheelhouses. Understanding What “Slow” Means On The Mobile Web
There are a number of tools that will help you analyze web page speeds and implement various fixes to enhance them. One device that’s particularly useful is called Lighthouse. The handiest issue is, it’s intended for web builders.
Instead, I suggest web designers use Test My Site, another Google testing tool.
This is specifically for those who want to get their mobile site speed measured quickly. What you need to do is enter the field with your domain name, and let the test run.
What I like about this method compared to other site speed tests is that, in terms of layman, it's all laid out for you. In this scenario, even when supported on the 4 G networks, my website is "slow." Although we have been told for years that tourists are willing to wait three seconds to load a web page, Google finds 2.9 seconds to be too long. You can get an expanded file from Google that tells you a way to speed up your mobile loading times, but the hints are no specific than the updates you’d make at the development side. We already understand this. However, in case you (or your developer) haven’t yet applied any of those fixes, this is a good checklist to paintings off of. If you aren’t completely convinced that you need to take your 3-second cell speed down any further, look at the economic impact just .five seconds might have on your month-to-month backside line. What Web Designers Can Do To Optimize Mobile Sites For Speed
Let the net developer cope with all of the essential pace optimizations like caching and record
minification
at the same time as you take on the subsequent layout hints and strategies:
1. HOST FONTS FROM A CDN There’s sufficient you need to worry approximately in terms of designing fonts for the cellular revel in which you likely don’t need to listen this… but custom internet fonts suck in terms of loading. In fact, there are two latest case research that display why custom internet fonts are damaging to page loading speeds. Thankfully, a CDN may want to come to be being your saving grace. The Downtime Monkey Example The first comes from Downtime Monkey. In this example study, Downtime Monkey boasts a page velocity development of 58% via a whole lot of optimizations — two of which pertained to how they served fonts to their web site. For their Font Awesome icons, they decided to host them from a CDN. However, Font Awesome’s personal CDN proved unreliable, in order that they switched to the Bootstrap CDN. As a result, this stored them among 200 and 550 milliseconds according to web page load. For their Google Font “Cabin”, they determined to host it from the Google CDN. What’s funny to note, however, is that when they ran a web page pace take a look at on the web page afterwards, they acquired an optimization suggestion related to the font. It appears that the hyperlink they put within the head in their web site turned into slowing down the rendering of the page. So, they had to put in force a workaround that might allow the font to load asynchronously without harming the show of the page as it loaded. They used Web Font Loader to fix the difficulty and ended up saving between 150 and 300 milliseconds consistent with web page load as a result. Brian Jackson’s Test Brian Jackson, the Chief Marketing Officer at Kinsta, wrote a put up for KeyCDN that demonstrates the first-class way to serve custom web fonts on a website. You can see in his instance that he suggests a number of optimizations, like restricting which styles and person units are available to be used on the internet site. However, it’s his experimentation with CDN web hosting that’s honestly interesting. When served from a local server, Open Sans took 0.530 milliseconds to load. It’s no longer a massive distinction, however it’s obviously not the right route to head in. So, what’s the conclusion? Well, you have a few options. You can use an internet secure font and avoid the troubles that come with the usage of externally hosted fonts within the first place. You can use a Google font and make sure it’s hosted through Google’s CDN. You can download a Google font and add it for your very own CDN (if you could get it loading quicker from there, that is).
2. STOP USING CUMBERSOME DESIGN ELEMENTS The following listing is relatively of a rehashing of subjects that have been covered before, so I don’t want to waste your time looking to recreate the wheel here. However, I do think this method of disposing of unnecessary design factors (specifically weightier ones) to optimize the cellular enjoy is one worth summarizing here: Stop with On-Page Ads When I wrote about elements you have to ditch on mobile web sites, I known as out commercials as one of the matters you can without difficulty toss out. I nonetheless stand via that conviction. For starters, classified ads are served from a 3rd party. Any time you have got to call on every other party’s servers, you’re in addition growing your own loading times as you await them to supply the content to your web page. Secondly, over 26% of the U.S. populace alone makes use of ad-blocking generation on their devices, in order that they’re not possibly to look your on-web page ads anyway. Instead, use monetization strategies that move the advertising far from your website, boom your very own on-website conversions and won’t drain your server’s resources: Remarketing Let your monitoring pixel follow site visitors around the internet and then serve your personal ads on someone else’s web page. PPC There’s suitable money to be made if you can nail the pay-according to-click advertising method in Google. Social media ads These are in particular clean to run in case your website is publishing new content on a ordinary basis and you've a compelling offer. Stop With Pop-Ups I realize that Google says that mobile pop-united statesare okay in certain instances.
However, in case you’re building a website with WordPress or every other content management machine and you’re using a plugin to create the ones pop-ups, that’s going to sluggish down your loading times. It might not be via a whole lot, however you’ll note the difference. Stop With Cumbersome Contact Channels Don’t forget about your website’s touch channels. In particular, you have to be careful about designing mobile bureaucracy. Of course, part of that has to do with how lengthy it in reality takes a consumer to fill one out. However, there’s additionally what a prolonged or multi-web page form does on your loading speeds that you should assume about. In general, your cellular paperwork have to be lean — best consist of what’s truely vital. There is an alternate school of idea to recall as well. You ought to ditch the touch form altogether, something I mentioned when speakme approximately the fashion of replacing cell paperwork with chatbots. There are websites that have eliminated their forms and left facts like FAQs, electronic mail addresses and get in touch with numbers for traffic to use if they want to get in touch. That could genuinely lighten matters up from a loading standpoint. I just don’t know if it might be best for the person enjoy. 3. CREATE A SINGLE-PAGE WEBSITE
The above suggestions are going to be the simplest and fastest ones to put into effect, so you must simply start there if a patron or internet developer involves you with problems of too-slow web sites. However, if web page speed checks nevertheless show that a website takes extra than 2.5 seconds to load, keep in mind a extraordinary method to redesigning a website for the purposes of speed optimization. As Adam Heitzman said in an article for Search Engine Journal: “Single page sites typically convert an awful lot less complicated to mobile and users locate them simple to navigate.” To be clear, I’m no longer suggesting that you turn your website into a single-web page application (SPA). If you need to hurry up your consumer’s digital property with carrier workers, a PWA is a better solution. (More info on that within the next factor.) Instead, what I’m suggesting is that you convert a multi-web page website into a single-web page one if your client fulfills sure criteria: Businesses with an exceptionally slender and singular focus. Websites that don’t require a lot content to get their point across. A constrained range of key phrases you want to rank for. That said, in case you are designing a website that suits inside the ones 3 criteria (or at least out of 3), you can realistically pass your website to a greater simplistic single-web page design. Because single-page web sites pressure you to do more with less, the restrained content material and functions clearly create a light-weight internet site. What’s cool approximately this single-page website is that it doesn’t skimp at the considerable imagery needed to promote luxury homes. And, yet, its cell site masses in 2.1 seconds. Because it’s overloaded with animations, it takes 5.four seconds for the page to load on cellular. You can even see this from the screenshot presented through Think with Google. The image seen there is genuinely the message that appears whilst the primary animation loads inside the background. So, I might suggest being careful in case you’re hoping to use a single-page layout to solve your internet site’s overall performance woes. The layout wishes to be simple, brilliant centered and unencumbered via scripts and animation results that undo the advantages of trimming your content material all the way down to one page. 4. TURN YOUR MOBILE SITE INTO A PWA
According to Google, there are three traits that define every PWA: Reliable Fast Engaging Speed is an inherent a part of progressive internet apps thanks to the service people they’re built with. Because carrier employees exist out of doors of the web browser and aren't contingent on the velocity of the user’s network, they load cached content for traffic greater quickly. I might additionally say that due to the fact the design of a PWA extra closely resembles that of a native cellular app (as a minimum the shell of it), this forces the design itself to be extra trimmed-back than a cellular internet site. If you’re suffering to hurry up your website after enforcing all of the traditional performance optimizations you’re meant to, now would be an excellent time to turn your cell website right into a PWA. Let me show you why: Imagine you are planning a ride to Chicago with a friend. You’re out at a bar or espresso keep discussing the experience, then realize you have got no concept where to stay. So, you do a search for “downtown Chicago hotels” on one of your smartphones. You’re now not thinking about purchasing a room yet; you just want to analyze your options. So, you click at the website links for two of the pinnacle listings Google offers you. The River North Hotel loads in 2.4 seconds on mobile while its Hilton competitor masses in four seconds. (You can definitely see within the Hilton screenshot that the web page hadn’t absolutely loaded yet.) That’s a distinction that site visitors are positive to word. Even if we’re not doing a side-by means of-side comparison among the competing web sites, the River North Hotel’s PWA blows its former mobile internet site out of the water. Brewer Digital Marketing, the company that evolved the PWA for them, shared what passed off once they made the transfer over. The lodge saw a 300% growth in income and a 500% growth in nights booked with the PWA. 5. CONVERT YOUR WEBSITE OR BLOG INTO AMP
We have Google to thank for every other speedy layout trick for the cell internet. This one is known as Accelerated Mobile Pages, or AMP, for short. Initially, AMP changed into launched to assist publishers strip down their weblog or information pages for faster loading on mobile devices. However, AMP is an internet factor framework you can use to layout complete websites or simply particular components of them (like blog posts). Once applied, pages load almost instantly from seek. Why is AMP so rapid to load? There are some of reasons: With AMP, you can most effective load asynchronous JavaScript and inline CSS on your website, which means that your code won’t block or postpone page rendering. Images are also any other supply of slower loading instances. However, AMP solves that problem through robotically loading the web page layout earlier than the resources (e.G. Images, commercials, etc.) Think of it as a shape of lazy loading. There’s a lot extra to it, however the basic idea is that it cuts out the elements that tend to tug websites down and forces designers to mostly rely upon lightweight HTML to construct their pages. Wrapping Up As Google does greater to reward mobile web sites over desktop, this isn’t actually a matter you could desk for a lot longer. All variations of your internet site — but mobile especially — should be optimized for the user experience. That way the design, the code, the content and the whole lot else within and around it ought to be optimized. Once the developer has looked after the conventional performance optimizations to hurry up the internet site, it’s time for the clothier to make some changes of their very own. In some cases, simple changes like how fonts are served via the website will help. In different cases, more drastic subjects may want to be considered, like redesigning your internet site as a PWA. First, recall how slowly your purchaser’s website is loading. Then, take a look at what’s causing the most important difficulty on cellular. Trim the fat, bit with the aid of bit, and notice what you may do as a fashion designer to supplement the developer’s technical velocity optimizations.  As a reputed Software Solutions Developer we have expertise in providing dedicated remote and outsourced technical resources for software services at very nominal cost.
Ng You Zhi’s Tips in Persuading Your Audience
Tumblr media
Why do you need to persuade your audience? Well, apart from turning them into paying customers, you need to persuade them into following your crusade. Well, the art of persuasion is not just mere talent, unlike what many people think. It’s actually a skill that can be honed, and venture capitalist Ng You Zhi can attest to that.
Singapore’s top investor says that he has risen to the top of his game not by just doing his ventures right, but by learning how to persuade his target clients. Over the years he has turned start-up companies into the booming businesses that they are today, and gathered a slew of investors to help them change the game of whatever industry he explores.
What do you need to learn from Ng You Zhi when it comes to the art of persuasion? Here are a few tips:
1. Highlight the ROI
One of the biggest issues in persuading an audience online is that it is at risk to the “TL:DR” or “too long; didn’t read” mindset. People online only have so much patience to go through a webpage, with an average of 8 seconds on a page before switching to another or closing the browser window.
You can do this by creating content that comes with a balance of visual appeal and substantial information. You may want to construct your content strategically to prevent readers from going away. Some of the ways in which you can do this are:
adding a catchy but truthful headline
organising your subtopics in a structured but easy to read manner
bolding key phrases to make it easier to pull out information
2. Make your audience slow down.
Most of your audiences don’t read your copy; they just skim through it. You may even consider yourself lucky if they actually scanned through what you wrote. However, they are easily turned off when they see certain clues, such as complicated language, long sentences, and walls of texts. It’s not because you’re not engaging, but more about they feel like they are already being sold.
You can prevent this from happening, not only by being strategic with your copy construction, but by adding markers to refocus your readers’ attention. These include:
chopping ideas with subheads
using lists
adding hyperlinked text
one-liner statements
adding images and graphs
These visual markers break the monotony of your post. They also give a breath of fresh air on your copy, as your readers see something new after going through blocks of text.
3. Provoke an immediate reaction.
A lot of copywriters think that their copy is complete once they have added a call-to-action. Yet, how can you mobilise your CTA? People don’t simply follow someone else’s orders because they are told to do so. Their response is provoked by their reaction to your call.
What gets your audience startled? What gets catches them off-guard? What will make them say yes? There are several factors that drive them to heed your CTA, such as:
convenience – if you ask them to share your post, give them social sharing buttons to click right away.
expert recommendations – give them something more to go through, even if they don’t convert.
contextual CTAs – put audiences in a specific environment that make them say yes to your offer (leverage on user experience).

CES is a fantasyland of futuristic merchandise. However this 12 months it was dominated by our bleak current On the flight house from Las Vegas in January 2020, I wrote a bit for CNN Enterprise about how the expertise of the longer term paints a really lonely image for all of us. I had simply seen robots who name 911 if you fall down, mechanical companion cats that hold you firm and “synthetic people” from startup Neon capable of do the identical. Two months later, my New York neighborhood turned one of many first within the nation to enter lockdown; and it has been simply as lengthy since I have been capable of hug a few of the individuals I really like essentially the most. A digital actuality journey to the Amalfi Coast with them can be a welcomed change to our routine FaceTime check-ins, not fairly the weird idea I believed it was only a 12 months in the past. If loneliness was the unstated theme of CES 2020, this 12 months’s all-digital occasion was rife with anxiousness and stress, each the on a regular basis selection and the sort particular to the present well being disaster. On the occasion, which occurred on-line this week, there was the wearable for the ears that claims its mild vibrations regulate stress; the small sensible storage field with a fingerprint scanner to lock up your capsule provide or bank cards; the greater lock field that retains porch pirates from stealing your Amazon packages; a pad for the automotive seat that sends an alert when you overlook your youngster within the backseat; and the robotic that masses your dishwasher. The robotic, Samsung’s Bot Helpful, is barely in growth for now, but it surely’s the corporate’s imaginative and prescient for “a greater new regular,” as extra individuals work, cook dinner, eat and drown in dishes at house than ever throughout the international pandemic. As seen in a video, Bot Helpful units the desk, pours wine and reminds you of upcoming conferences. “The applied sciences in your house have to work more durable that will help you alter to this new regular,” the corporate stated in its session description on the CES web site. After which there have been the masks. There was one with built-in earbuds and microphones to make calls, and one other to observe air high quality. AirPop Energetic+ Good Masks screens and filters the air round you, blocking mud, allergens and microbial particles. It lets you understand if you want a brand new filter and tracks your respiration with its sensors. Maybe the harrowing takeaway from CES this 12 months is that we’re not okay, however possibly expertise can assist. Executives and thought leaders met nearly to supply options to the challenges many industries at the moment face. A session on the way forward for contactless funds, with an outline on the web site that led with “The much less you contact, the safer you will be,” mentioned how retailers can journey the momentum of the booming pattern far previous the pandemic. One other on the challenges of distant studying debated what’s subsequent for future lecture rooms, and whether or not sure tech instruments may make telemedicine visits extra significant. “We stay in a time when many of the issues we as soon as took without any consideration now look like distant reminiscences,” stated Brian Kwon, CEO of LG Electronics, in a video forward of the corporate’s presentation. “Life has modified in so many sudden methods. Whereas our way of living could also be completely different now, we persevere.” Not precisely the upbeat speech you usually count on to listen to at a product launch. Apple, which frequently makes headlines at CES with out really attending, used this week to disclose extra particulars about its $100 million Racial Fairness and Justice Initiative. Launched in June following the information and protests across the dying of George Floyd, the corporate introduced the place extra of its funds will go to assist handle systemic racism and create extra alternatives for communities of shade. CES 2021 nonetheless had its share of enjoyable innovation: the rollable cellphone, the clear TV, Cadillac’s self-driving occasion bus idea, to call just a few. However the tech that resonated most mirrored our present bleak world, at a time when many people are attempting to only get by the day. The self-driving occasion bus will probably be a superb option to have a good time the tip of the pandemic each time that point lastly comes, however for now, all I really need is that Keurig-like machine for soft-serve ice cream to assuage my soul whereas I wait issues out at house. Dancing with the Madness: Finding Community in the Dizzying World of Indie Podcasting.
“People are really listening and want to consume all of the content that is there and available. There’s a level of dedication that comes from podcast listeners that you don’t otherwise find. And now the numbers prove it. Podcasts aren’t a bubble, they’re a boom—and that boom is only getting louder.” - Miranda Katz
If you ask your friends, “what is your favorite podcast?” chances are at least a few of them would give you an enthusiastic answer. An estimated 75% of Americans are familiar with the term “podcasting” and around 50% of US homes self-describe as having at least one podcast fan. An estimated 24% of Americans listen to at least one podcast on a weekly basis. To supply this large and ever-expanding audience, there is subsequently a seemingly endless supply of new podcasts. And, that’s not much of an exaggeration, there are an estimated 525,000 active podcasts that feature millions of episodes about everything… literally. One of the things that makes podcasts so compelling for listeners is that, no matter what subject interests them, there is an abundance of options. That makes sense. What is a little harder to understand, is exactly who makes these shows and why.
I am a podcaster. It’s a bit cliché at this point to admit to being a twenty-something, white, podcaster, but I can’t deny the truth. For me, it was a pretty natural choice: I started as a really bad songwriter with too much invested in recording equipment, and then decided that telling stories was easier, and better suited to my strengths. It was a great choice. What is harder to understand though, is the motives of other podcasters. There is a very active community of podcasters online, at the time I’m writing this #podcast had over 1,000 tweets in the last hour. Clicking that hashtag in my search bar transported me to a list of episode links that seemed to scroll for eternity. Shows about food, military history, true crime, and politics, displaying themselves like billboards with shoddy art and blue hyperlinks dotted throughout the black text begging for listeners. It’s a great way to find new shows, but it’s a really bad way to connect with the people who make them.
  The Venue Dictates the Product
In stark contrast to the thousands of tweets featuring #podcast, there were only about 100 tweets in the last hour featuring #podcaster. And, ironically, they too were mostly digital billboards. Links to shows. Those tweets had very little to do with podcasters and everything to do with podcasts. Finding a community of podcast creators was far more difficult than I anticipated, but those communities exist, and can be found with enough effort and creativity.
One observation that became apparent immediately is that the venue greatly effects the product. By that I mean, Twitter seems almost exclusively to be used for promotion, while the subreddit r/podcasting hosts over 50,000 members posting about all sorts of things related to the art (and often the struggle) of podcasting. Posts with titles like Thoughts on this Rode PSA1 amateur ($550) set up? or simply Help Starting fill the page. Similarly, private communities on Facebook like Underdog Podcasting Community features posts of users celebrating successes and asking for advice on microphones and software.
Similarly, there exists an entire market of people promising to optimize your podcast. Some are obviously scammers trying their very best to get a quick Venmo payment. The grift is simple; it usually begins with a message like, “I am a professional podcast promoter and will get you a million downloads by the end of the month” and ends with “for the low price of $1,000.” While others look professional. They have nice, polished websites, and flashy art to back up their claims of being famous podcasters or producers, but they ultimately hide their “No-fail advice” behind a paywall and promise to email it to you if you just “sign up for their newsletter.”
  Dancing with the Madness
The greatest mistake that I made when starting this project was that I limited myself to #podcasting on Twitter. I tried to carve out a path in what turned out to be a cement block. There just isn’t enough engagement there. As I’ve said, it is mostly a graveyard of links that will never be clicked and advertisements for episodes that will go largely unheard. So, I expanded my scope and, in doing, feel as if I have a much better understanding of the online community of podcasters.
Once I left the #podcasting graveyard behind, I found a networked community rich in value and diversity. As podcasts can be about literally anything, the content is extremely varied, however the one constant was the mission: support. On nearly every podcasting community that I participated in the primary focus was support. And, for good reason, being a DIY podcaster is an uphill battle to say the least. Podcasts produced by giant networks like iHeartRadio and Wondery pull in millions of views per episode while the average amount of downloads per episode among all podcasts is about 130. To combat the giant marketing budgets and professional audio engineers held by major podcasting networks, podcasting communities like r/podcasting and Underdog Podcasting Community share every tip and trick available to help their users gain traction on a muddy, steep, slope.
My class required interaction went rather poorly. I tried using images, polls, additional hashtags, and tagging well-established members of the community but got virtually no engagement. I even tried to cheat and shared a tweet or two from my podcasts Twitter profile, but even that was basically useless. I got a few likes, a few poll responses, and a few retweets, but basically no engagement. So, I started doing extracurricular interaction…
On r/podcasting I posted Patreon help? A post where I asked the r/podcasting community if they had any experience with the crowdfunding website Patreon. That post did not earn many upvotes, but it did prompt 19 comments that were full of very helpful advice. Similarly, on the Facebook group Underdog Podcasting Community I posted a request for some direction after gaining some unexpected popularity. The community responded by sending me tons of supportive comments, and private messages full of great ideas. Through this post I was actually connected to other users who featured me on guest spots, interviews, and even podcast reviews.
  So, what?
After conducting this research, I’m left with a resounding conclusion. There are two podcasting worlds. One; a stack of brochures and advertisements. Bold letters begging to be read. Conversations dying to be heard. Grifters offering to “Get you a million downloads” in exchange for a small fortune. The other; a vibrant, rich world where passionate people gather together to exchange advice and try their very best to beat an unbeatable system. People who are armchair experts, undiscovered talent, truth seekers, entertainers, but above all else, they are supporters. I can honestly say that through my interactions within these communities I have made genuine friendships. Or, at least, as close of thing to friendship one can make in a purely online community. I have never seen these people face to face, but they have helped me reach my goals. They have checked on me when I’ve been downtrodden. We’ve shared laughs, some recorded, some not. And, perhaps that’s what the podcasting community is about. Maybe, rather than trying to compete with professionally produced shows like Lore or My Favorite Murder it’s about finding people to support and be supported by. A place for unexpected friendship.
To listen to my friends, visit allthepeoplenetwork.com I can’t promise that you’ll love every show there, but I can promise you that the people who make them are some of the very best on the internet. And, that their shows are really good, and you’ll probably love them.
