Gonna keep disputing stuff this dumb hate blog says every day until it's gone forever cuz I love my friends~
Tumblr media
The idea that Justin fuckin' Chapman OF ALL PEOPLE is a clout chaser who only sees representation as a selfish benefit is laughable to anyone who's even met them once. Considering they're my friend, I can confidently say that this interpretation of Justin is wholly incorrect.
I've talked with Justin regarding representation in the show before and I can tell you with confidence that it is something they care about. Stuff like Painty coming out, the Bot storyline and everything with PayJay was all sincere. As an LGBTQ+ individual themselves, this shit means a lot to them. Quite frankly, I think Justin is one of the most sincere individuals I have ever met.
As for the "ableism apologist" comment, I can safely say I have NO idea what they're on about. But you gotta remember this blog specializes in saying things about people without even the smallest scrap of evidence to back it up.
I WILL say however, it is absolutely hilarious to call people who make and/or enjoy a fun little show about objects problematic or "posies" (this still gets a laugh out of me), while also apparently being pro-taliban if the other posts I've gleamed are anything to go by.
Anyway, I've reported a few posts from this user that very clearly threaten harm onto my friends and I hope Tumblr will see it fit to nuke it. But until then, I'm gonna use it as an opportunity to speak highly about my friends cuz they're cool people who are worth talking highly of <3

Why is Harry Potter trending (or was)? Can it not? Like deadass I’m being fr can it plz not. Especially that J.K Rowling is a massive TERF, a raging antisemite, and disgustingly try to deny that trans people were not affected by the Holocaust (which she was ratio’d by George Takei).
“Proof?”
Way ahead of you: (Tw: transphobia, racism, antisemitism, holocaust, Harry Potter)
Oh and don’t get me started how Hogwart Legacy, you know that game that was sworn Jk Rowling wasn’t apart of (yeah sure-) is blood libel story. Not to mention that trans people have told you not to especially since there is a canonical transgender character named Sirona. (People said Sirona is a Celtic goddess for healing. but- come on. You can’t bullshit out of this one. There are OTHER NAMES TO NAME A TRANSGENDER CHARACTER— it make those joke with how Jk Rowling naming not far off. Because it like naming a nonbinary character “NoGendora” or smth (before you say, I’m nonbinary myself—) so idc if it already have a meaning, it still is tone deaf to name a transgender women Sirona).
“But but- you can separate the art from the artist?”
Yes. You can separate art from the artist. HOWEVER before you celebrate thinking you had a gotcha moment. You can only separate if the art itself isn’t problematic or is bigotry itself. Harry Potter is as mention in the links. Not to mention, Harry Potter himself become a cop despite the cop in that world didn’t do jack shit. And don’t get me started on how they handle the whole elf slavery. Also there is heavy fatphobia in this story, proof, look at how they would talk about Harry’s abusive aunt and uncle from his mother’s side. Don’t get me started how she would describe Rita Skeeter. There even a black character who’s last names is Shacklebolt— do I need to say more (if I’m missing any other examples please tell me)
Not to mention she benefits off of it and uses her money to donate to transphobia and just don’t give a flying fuck if she offend people (which seem to usually be the case for trans/homophobia but moving on). like, this is who you wanna support? You still want to read this wizard book when there are other that don’t have transphobia, racist, antisemitic, or any problematic rhetoric and are objectively better than Harry Potter? Really? You wanna die on this hill?
Look. I used to like Harry Potter. but that was before I knew what a dirtbag of a fucking human she is (I didn’t really have social media at the time), and I cringe as I wish I learn sooner that she was a deplorable person who hates trans people like myself (nonbinary respectfully). But, I can happily say Fuck Harry Potter that series can burn in a trash for all I care and I hope the hbo series flops on its ass. And also fuck Jk Rowling, she can fuck off for all I care. That being said, If you support Harry Potter/Jk Rowling, unfollow me. Block me. Because I do not support Harry Potter/Jk Rowling. Because Trans rights/Gender Equality, Human rights are infinitely more important than a basic ass wizard book/movie with a even basic ass magic system when there are objectively better wizard/magic books that are respectful.
Anyway, that being said, Trans and basic human rights matter 🩵🩷🤍🩷🩵 🤭

Dreams of jewellery, phones and makeup: how young Iraqi girls are lured into marriage (Zainab al-Mashat and Maria Talal and Hala Abdullah, The Guardian, Nov 22 2024)
"Although Iraq has outlawed marriage under the age of 18 since the 1950s, with those wishing to marry from the age of 15 needing judicial approval, a UN survey found that 28% of girls in the country were married before they turned 18.
Many leave school to marry, either forcibly or voluntarily.
Instead of tightening laws against underage marriage and helping girls from poorer backgrounds complete their education, a new law awaiting a final vote in the Iraqi parliament would allow the marriage of girls as young as nine.
Proposed amendments to Iraq’s Personal Status Law, which passed its second reading in the Iraqi parliament in September, would give religious authorities the power to decide on family affairs, including marriage, divorce and the care of children.
If they go through, they will be tantamount to “legalising child rape”, say activists and MPs opposing the new law, and likely to lead to even more underage girls being married.
While marriage is presented to some underage girls as a chance to escape poverty, many of the marriages end in failure, bringing lifelong consequences for young women, including shame and a lack of opportunities because of unfinished schooling. (…)
Activists say the move to legalise child marriage is as a deliberate attack on women’s rights and freedoms, after large numbers of young women took part in anti-government protests in Iraq in 2019.
“Iraq is heading towards becoming a version of the Taliban and Afghanistan,” says Ali Aziz, a human rights activist and journalist from al-Diwaniyah governorate.
“Islamist parties are mobilising public opinion and creating a kind of collective frenzy against freedoms.
They are passing ideologies such as enslaving women, taking away their rights, tightening patriarchal guardianship over them, allowing underage marriage and so on.”
Aziz says many girls in Iraq are either coerced or enticed into marriage with promises of riches.
“In our community, some fathers just want to get rid of their daughter, because she is an extra financial burden for him, and there is no economic benefit from her. He prefers to marry her off.
“[The child is told] you will have a mobile phone, you will wear makeup, you will have a man that will take you out and will buy you gold. So she drops out of school and gets married.”
For another girl, Athar*, from the province of Kirkuk in northern Iraq, marriage at 15 only lasted two days.
She was beaten by her in-laws after failing to provide her new husband’s family with evidence of her virginity.
The proof is demanded from some brides on their wedding night in the form of a cloth stained with blood resulting from the ripping of her hymen.
In Anthar’s case, it hadn’t been possible as she discovered her husband had erectile dysfunction.
“I told them, ‘your son can’t do anything, it’s not my fault’, but they kept beating me,” says Athar, who returned to her parents’ home.
Athar, who left school age 10 because of the costs of stationery and travel to school, says marriage had been her hope of escaping poverty.
“Hunger and poverty were destroying us. I wanted to get married, build a successful life and get rid of my poverty, but I failed.”"

I can't find the post, but years ago there was an interview on @humansofny that started out something like this:
"I get affected really badly by politics. When Trump was elected in 2016, I found myself so depressed, I couldn't get out of bed. All I did was drink wine and cry." (This is off memory- no idea how accurate I am)
I think about that guy all the time. I thought about him first thing when I woke up this morning and over and over again throughout the day. I also thought about the millions of people who woke up in the same boat. I thought about my American friend and her daughter all day.
I can think about that guy from HONY all I want, but the good thing about that guy is he will never die from giving birth after being r*ped.
I tried to avoid social media today but got stuck in a doom scroll and now I feel like I need to face the facts of what happened.
Millions of people went to the polls and voted to take away the rights and freedoms of their loved ones. Millions of people voted for a removal of healthcare, for higher taxes for the working class, for higher tariffs, purely for the benefit of wealthy men.
Canada and every country will be affected- today's not about us, but it will be. If PP gets in we are heading in the same direction.
Canada and the USA are both so focused on freedom- so why are we so obsessed with destroying our freedom? Why are women and children not deserving of rights? Why do we want to follow in the footsteps of the Taliban or Nazi regime?
Unfortunately millions of people did what they THINK is best for the economy. Millions of people need a better education before they cast their vote. The future of said education, will now be changed to fit the agenda of project 2025. The American people are putty in the Republican party's hands.
I am angry on behalf of every American who did the right thing. I am angry on behalf of American children who won't see a proper education, aren't free to explore their identity, all while being forced to wear a clear backpack to school.
Mostly, I am heartbroken. For women across the world. For Afghani women that can't speak in public. For American women that can't access life-saving healthcare. I am heartbroken for every woman who almost, for a second, thought we would have some representation.
We took an EXTREMELY well- qualified candidate, with the proper background, education and work experience needed for the job, and tossed her to the side, for someone convicted of sexual assault, for someone who was impeached, for someone who uses language like "grab her by the p*ssy". For someone with public ties to Epstein and Diddy. For someone who regrets nothing he's done.
I am so. Heartbroken. Thinking about the loss today for women. Thinking about the misguided voters who didn't do their research, or were pressured by the men in their lives. We have failed. We have failed our wives, our daughters, our neighbours. We have proven that no matter how qualified a woman is, it'll always. Be. A man.
WHY DO WE ONLY CARE ABOUT OUR DAUGHTERS WHEN THEY ARE HOT ENOUGH TO DATE?
Canadians- as the next federal election looms closer, I BEG of you to do your research. Do not vote the way your family taught you to, or your partner, or the way you decided you would when you were 14. Policies, parties, leaders and relations are always changing. As we struggle in an ongoing cost of living crisis, take a look into federal vs provincial policies. Learn who does what. Learn what you care about. Think about the people in your life. Think about how hard women have struggled to get THIS far. Think about your child just wanting to be happy in their own body. Think about the ice caps and inflation (reminder: tariffs exist!!). Think about the people that were here first. Think about the rights and freedoms we have fought so hard for.
Remember, without feminism, we wouldn't be able to vote at all.
Please don't send us back in time.

I know I rarely come on here and post stuff, but this is something serious that I think needs to start being boosted onto this platform if it hasn’t already. It’s everywhere on TikTok but that is not enough, so hopefully I can start a wave of awareness that is just as strong here as it is on TikTok.
In the rare instance that you don’t know, I will explain now;
Today I wish to bring light to the Genocide that is going on in Gaza, as well as many other Genocides that, only now, are being brought to light.
As of right now of writing this (November 14th, 2023), there has been an ongoing Genocide in Palestine that is being lead by Israel and started on October 7th of this year when a conflict occurred between Israel and Hamas/led Palestinian militants from the Gaza Strip. Palestine has been under attack from Israel for longer though, since 1947 and, from 2006, there were a total of five wars between Hamas and Israel.
This year it has continued to worsen, now reaching large media coverage from journalists - many of which have been killed in the bombings as well as its citizens. In total a number of 11,100 and counting have been killed since October 7th, a large majority of the deaths being women and children, children including babies who have ranged from two years old to just being born, their lives ended before they can even walk.
People around the world, including those in Palestine themselves have demanded a ceasefire and for help from governments across the globe. Yet no help has been given to them, why? Because they side with Israel, these governments include and are not limited to the ones listed in this video:
youtube
Incase you can’t watch it for whatever reason at the moment, I will list here the major countries that, as of writing this, are pro-Israel;
- U.S.A/United States America
- Germany
- Guatemala
- India
- Austria, Hungary, Czechia, Croatia(Within Europe)
- France(Though they voted against Israel in the Humanitarian Truce Vote, they are still worthy of adding into this list)
And now for those who are AGAINST Israe/Pro-Palestinel:
- Iran/The Taliban
-Syria
- Chilli
- Columbia
- Bolivia
- Turkey
- Qatar
Please do keep in mind that things like this are possible to change, only time will tell but regardless it is important to keep note of who is supporting who.
Now this may be the part where I ask you to please go and support Palestine and do what you can. But that’s not it, not yet, for Palestine is not the only country under threat of Genocide. Unfortunately, there are more.
Congo and Haiti are also under going silent Genocides, both countries being extorted for their mineral resources to benefit western countries: Congo for example, their people being forced into slave labour to mine sources - one such resource being the ones to make iPhones and laptops, probably what you’re using right now to read this. The resource are called Tatalum and Coltan, and they are stained with the blood those forced to mine them.
youtube
Haiti is under a constantly corrupted and unstable government management with a rise of gang activities to go with it. No help has been given to them.
youtube
And western countries have done absolutely JACK SHIT to help.
That has to change. We cannot simply just demand for only Palestine, Congo or Haiti be freed and helped, but instead we demand ALL countries be helped. It’s obvious by now that our governments could care less about the people, they care about historical affiliations and keeping good connections for the sake of financial and resourceful of benefits.
Hope is not entirely lost, though, as many have taken to protest against and raise awareness to the inhumane cruelty that had been put into the light. I strongly encourage you to do the same. I am not asking that you go and fight the wars and fox the economies by yourself, I am asking that you merely acknowledge and SPREAD THE WORD.
Ignorance is a privilege we shall not let anyone have when it comes to atrocities like these.
What can you do to help?
Again, you just spread the word; repost, post, talk to friends or family about it, do whatever you can to so read awareness. Donate to charities(Be sure to do your research before doing so as, unfortunately, they are many who would take advantage of tragedies such as these for financial gain. Please be sure to research who or whatever you are donating money to so you know for sure where your money will be going.)
We are right now in the midst of a historical event, history is repeating and we are doomed if we stay quiet and do nothing. Hope is not lost.
From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free. So will Congo and Haiti.

Note
In regards to one of your recent posts about freeing Palestine, may I offer the following information:
-The Peel Commission investigated a one-state solution and came to the conclusion it is not feasible
-Hamas's mission is not only "river to sea" but also to kill every Jew and Israeli
-Statements about Jews being colonisers often do not take into account ancient origins (for which there is plenty of evidence) as well as the presence of numerous Jewish villages before Israel became a state. Many Jewish families have been a part of what we now call Israel for thousands of years. Judaism is one of the most ancient religions to exist, and that area has always been considered the homeland — making it a favourable location
I would also like to mention that since the elections in Gaza in 2005 or 2006 (I fail to remember off the top of my head), there has been no more voting. Once the Hamas was elected approximately 18 years ago, they became the sole possible governing power in Gaza. Hamas is also classified as a terrorist organisation by a considerable amount of countries, not all of which support Israel. That's really important to mention when discussing Palestinian liberation.
This is intended to be a civil ask. I simply wanted to offer some more information + another take on things. I would deeply appreciate a response
hi i'll do the best i can to answer these but i wont have all these answers and if anyone else has things to add on please do
I looked up the Peel Commission and according to Wikipedia it was a "British Royal Commission of Inquiry", which is the first red flag on the list for me. The Peel Commission occurred in 1936, before the Nakba, but it was part of Britain's colonial project in the region ("Mandatory Palestine" was around from 1920-1948). I find it hard to respect a British "commission of inquiry" when Palestinians were being subjected to colonization seeing as how it was between the colonial entity and the people it wanted to subjugate. Furthermore, the fact that it seems the Peel Commission introduced recommended a "partition plan." Partition is just a nicer word, in modern times as we know it, as segregation. The "separate but equal" slogan that is used to justify segregation has never, ever once worked or ever benefited anyone, least of all the people who are subjugated to the legalities and practices of segregation. And consider this as well:
According to Benny Morris, Ben-Gurion and Weizmann saw [the resoultion] "as a stepping stone to some further expansion and the eventual takeover of the whole of Palestine".
Anyway, I don't think one ruling from the 1930s during Britain's colonial subjugation of Palestine should be the defining judgement of a state solution and considering how much things have changed (have worsened for the Palestinians, and, yes, Israelis as well) they have time and time again said that a one state solution under a secular government under which all peoples are equal is the only real pathway to peace.
Hamas presented a new charter in 2017, citing the following:
The new document states the Islamist movement it is not seeking war with the Jewish people – only with Zionism that drives the occupation of Palestine.
@/bloglikeanegyptian illustrated the difference between the Hamas charter and recent statements from Israeli in government and military about Palestinians here, when they dehumanized the Palestinians entirely in order to justify the ongoing genocide happening now. Furthermore, despite what their propaganda would have you believe, Israel rejected peace with Hamas on 5 different occasion.
Not all countries designate Hamas as a terrorist organization (see the section titled 'Terrorist designation'). The designation of "terrorist" is purely a political one. An example I can give you is one from the United States: U.S. forces trained the Mujahideen - which would lead to the creation of the Taliban - in order to fight communist forces; they were initially designated "freedom fighters" when they were serving U.S. interests [see here].
(Also it should be noted that the ANC, IRA, and Algerian resistance forces were also designated as terrorists, to name a few.)
See Zachary Foster's thread on the history of Hamas with regards to how the Israeli state funded them and how they came to be the group they are today.
This is not me saying that those people should have been killed. This is not me saying that they deserved it. No one deserves that. But violence of Oct. 7th must be contextualized within the broader history of the colonization of Palestine, and the fact that Palestinians have been subjugated to that very violence for decades. Colonialism and apartheid are inherently violent. Colonialism and apartheid dehumanize, brutalize, demoralize, and ultimately murder those being colonized: i.e., in this case the Palestinians. As others have said: when you imprison a people in the world's largest concentration camp, when you strip them of their rights and humiliate them and brutalize them and make them second class citizens in their own country and don't allow them to leave and if they are they are not allowed to return - they are going to lash out. When they do nothing, they are murdered, brutalized, and imprisoned. When they protest peacefully - (see the March of Return) - they are assassinated and maimed by IOF soldiers who laugh as they murder children and the disabled. The Palestinian people have exhausted literally every other option; the Israeli state is ultimately responsible for their turn to violence as a means of liberation.
It is understood in post-apartheid South Africa that the innocent people who were killed should not have died - but that the violence committed by the oppressed is the fault of the apartheid state. Violence begets violence. What happened on Oct. 7th was blowback - it was inevitable, and the Israeli state knew that, and they didn't care (and they still don't care about the safety of Jewish people, they don't care about their citizens; it took them 2 days to retake towns in the south because they immediately started bombing Gaza - and in their bombing will murder their own citizens who they use as a means to commit genocide, but there are more recent posts about that elsewhere).
Under International Law, Palestinians have the right to armed struggle. The Israeli state is responsible for every single death; the Israeli state - as the colonial entity, as the occupying force, backed by other colonial giants such as the U.S. and Britan - is responsible for every single person killed, both Palestinian and Israeli.
One thing that people who talk about the 2 state solution never bring up is the West Bank. The West Bank is not under Hamas control; there is no Hamas. The West Bank is supposed to the "collaborative project" with the Israeli state - i.e., the 2 state solution in practice. The reality is that the 2 state solution is an abject failure. Why? Because even though legally land in the West Bank belongs to Palestinians, settlers come and illegally occupy it. Homes are either literally taken or bulldozed from Palestinians; the IOF protects these settlers, who have gotten away with killing and harassing Palestinians for years. (Read more about Israel being a settler colony here; I have a variety of resources to learn from regarding these subjects posted here). Settlers get away with - under the protection of the occupying force, therefore with the blessing of the state - illegally occupying Palestinian land.
There may have been a point where a 2 state solution was possible. But, at this point, unless the apartheid was completely reversed, Palestinian right to determination was not only recognized but enforced, etc., it can't happen. Not when the state has been slowly but surely encroaching on and stealing Palestinian land for years. The only pathway to peace - real pace - is a 1 state solution, detailed in Dispatches from Gaza:
MZ: Unlike what they’ve been told, we’ve never had a problem with Jews. Jews have been part of the fabric of our society way before the establishment of Israel. In fact, Jews escaping European persecution found refuge in Palestine. Gaza had a Jewish quarter. They were living peacefully, not with Arabs but as Arabs, right up until 1948. The establishment of Israel didn’t protect Jews; it caused the divide and danger. The solution is to roll back and dismantle the colony. My message to the colonizers who left their home countries to occupy our lands is simply to go back home. As for those who were born here, my message is: You are secondary victims of this colonial project. You are being used to occupy other people’s lands, and your Jewishness is being politicized for colonial means. Meditate carefully on the examples of South Africa, Angola, Algeria—they may not apply wholesale to the settler colonization of Palestine, but they hold lessons for you. Today you must make a choice: Either support this deadly colonial project, or side against it by supporting the liberation of Palestine and the establishment of a democratic state that liberates Palestinians, as well as Jews, from Zionism. A state that will honor the right of Palestinian refugees to return and compensation and that will welcome and protect its Jews as citizens of Palestine. This transition from Zionism to democracy will not cost anyone’s life; it will cost you your colonial privileges, and will free you—and us, its primary victims—from colonialism.
See above point in regards to Jewish people living in historic Palestine before the creation of the Israeli state.
I need to reiterate what others have said and make it very clear: the problem with the Israeli state is that it was publicly acknowledged as a colonial project and then marketed as an empty land for people to settle in. The problem is that there were already people there when both the British colonized Palestine and when the Zionist state was created. Palestinians - Muslim, Jewish, and Christian - were already there. The Zionist state was not. The formation of the state is built on the massacres and expulsions of Palestinians from their lands.
Regarding the election: you can read about it here. It shouldn't come as a surprise to learn that the United States meddled here, too. The summary is this, as I understand it: the United States wanted there to be an election; they backed Fatah, the secular party that was Hamas' opposition. Fatah repeatedly told the U.S. that they weren't ready for it but the U.S. ignored it and Hamas, having run on an anti-corruption campaign, won (by a small margin). Then the U.S. tried to pull a coup on Hamas, which was unsuccessful, after which Hamas took full power. (Again, see Zachary Foster's thread for the history of Hamas).
Again, as many others have said: a 1 state solution under a secular government under which all peoples are equal and are allowed to live freely both under the law and in practice. I'm compelled to quote Mohammed Zraiy again:
This transition from Zionism to democracy will not cost anyone’s life; it will cost you your colonial privileges, and will free you—and us, its primary victims—from colonialism.
+ I recommend visiting Decolonize Palestine where myths and propaganda is addressed.

on mass deportations of afghan refugees in pakistan
youtube
pls watch this video, its not exhaustive and ur encouraged to reserach more but this is a v good intro to the afghan refugee crisis in pakistan right now.
not many people are talking about this but this is a gross human rights violation. according to pakistan's citizenship laws, people born on pakistani soil are automatically eligible for citizenship and parents/spouses of pakistani citizens are also eligible for citizenship. however, these laws have not been extended to afghan refugees. now these refugees are being deported to afghanistan, even tho many of them have never been to aghanistan. theyre literally being sent to camps on the pak-afghan border and forced to take classes on how to evade landmines. the police is also targeting and brutalizing documented afghan refugees. any success and wealth that afghan refugees accumulated has been in spite of the bigotry of most of the pakistani population and in spite of the shitty pakistani government. these civilians are in no way a strain on pakistan's economy, neither do they pose a security threat. theyre just being used by the pakistani establishment as a political pawn to get back at the taliban govt in afghanistan and to appease the pakistani population in the wake of intense economic and political instability. the conditons in afghanistan are already horrible and the vid touched upon that. afg has suffered some major earthqakes that have killed thousands of people, in addition to the sanctions + ofc the fact that the country is trying to rebuild after almost half a centruy of violent conflict
also want to point out how sick this is considering that pakistan benefitted a lot from the wars in afghanistan (against the soviets and against the taliban as well) bec of US aid and then bec of aid that was given to pakistan to cater to afghan refugees (ofc this aid almost never made it to the people who needed it - pakistan has p much no welfare programmes for the refugees) and pakistanis are often discriminatory/racist against afghan refugees. the afghan people have suffered a lot due to pakistan's greed and now theyre suffering once again. pakistanis are literally using similar rhetoric thats used against pakistani immgrants abroad (that theyre illegal aliens, that theyre illiterate regressive extremists, that theyre rapists and criminals)

The Last of Us Part II focuses on what has been broadly defined by some of its creators as a "cycle of violence." [...] More specifically, the cycle of violence in The Last of Us Part II appears to be largely modeled after the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. I suspect that some players, if they consciously clock the parallels at all, will think The Last of Us Part II is taking a balanced and fair perspective on that conflict, humanizing and exposing flaws in both sides of its in-game analogues. But as someone who grew up in Israel, I recognized a familiar, firmly Israeli way of seeing and explaining the conflict which tries to appear evenhanded and even enlightened, but in practice marginalizes Palestinian experience in a manner that perpetuates a horrific status quo.
The game's co-director and co-writer Neil Druckmann, an Israeli who was born and raised in the West Bank before his family moved to the U.S., told the Washington Post that the game's themes of revenge can be traced back to the 2000 killing of two Israeli soldiers by a mob in Ramallah. [...] “I landed on this emotional idea of, can we, over the course of the game, make you feel this intense hate that is universal in the same way that unconditional love is universal?” Druckmann told the Post. “This hate that people feel has the same kind of universality. You hate someone so much that you want them to suffer in the way they’ve made someone you love suffer.”
Druckmann drew parallels between The Last of Us and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict again on the official The Last of Us podcast. When discussing the first time Joel kills another man to protect his daughter and the extraordinary measures people will take to protect the ones they love, Druckmann said he follows "a lot of Israeli politics," and compared the incident to Israel's release of hundreds of Palestinians prisoners in exchange for the captured Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit in 2011. He said that his father thought that the exchange was overall bad for Israel, but that his father would release every prisoner in every prison to free his own son. [...]
But "cycles of violence" are a poor way to understand a conflict in a meaningful way, especially if one is interested in finding a solution. The United States, for example, hasn't been at war in Afghanistan for almost 20 years because it's trapped in a "cycle of violence" with the Taliban. It is deliberately choosing to engage with a problem in a way that perpetuates a conflict. Just as the fantasy of escaping violence by simply walking away from it is one that only those with the means to do so can entertain, the myth of the "cycle of violence" is one that benefits the side that can survive the status quo.
In The Last of Us Part II's Seattle, Scars and Wolves [two opposing factions] hurt each other terribly, and the same can be said about Israel and Palestine. The difference is that when flashes of violence abate and the smoke clears, one side continues to live freely and prosper, while the other goes back to a life of occupation and humiliation. One side continues to expand while the other continues to lose the land it needs to live. Imagining this process as some kind of symmetric cycle benefits one side more than the other, and allows it to continue.
As a result, The Last of Us Part II never quite justifies its fatalism. As Rob Zacny wrote in his review and again in his closer examination of The Last of Us Part II's ending, at the end of the day Ellie's journey of revenge seems especially cruel, even idiotic, because we are never given a good reason for why she keeps recommitting to it. Acts of cruelty along the way, like Ellie's torturing another character to get information, are presented as inevitable.
This seems to be The Last of Us Part II's thesis: humans experience a kind of "intense hate that is universal," as Druckmann told The Post, which keep us trapped in these cycles. But is intense hate really a universal feeling? It's certainly not one that I share. I, too, have seen the video of the 2000 mob killing of the Israeli soldiers in Ramallah, and it's horrific. Yet, my immediate response wasn't "Oh, man, if I could just push a button and kill all these people that committed this horrible act, I would make them feel the same pain that they inflicted on these people," as Druckmann said.
This is not a universal feeling as much as it's a learned way of seeing the world. There are many other ways to react to that video: compassion for the victims, compassion for the killers, questioning why these soldiers had to drive into the West Bank in the first place, questioning what would drive a mob to this kind of violence. Revenge and hate is just one option.
The Last of Us Part II is an incredible journey that provides not only one of the most mesmerizing spectacles that we've seen from big budget video games, but one that manages to ask difficult questions along the way. It's clearly coming from an emotionally authentic and self-examining place. The trouble with it, and the reason that Ellie's journey ultimately feels nonsensical, is that it begins from a place that accepts "intense hate that is universal" as a fact of life, rather than examining where and why this behavior is learned.
Critically, by not asking these questions, and by masking its point of view as being evenhanded, it perpetuates the very cycles of violence it's supposedly so troubled by.

hey, what’s up with tlou 2? I keep seeing comments mentioning how it’s related to zionism but I can’t find info on it
Im not someone who gets very interested in creators of the media I enjoy (idk what my fave band looks like or their names) and I was only a very casual watcher of tlou adaptation and gameplays. I only recently found out Neil Druckmann is a Zionist and that tlou2 was “inspired by the Israel-Palestine conflict.”
This is to say Im not the most informed and have no desire to watch the podcasts this Vice article gets quotes from, the article was more than enough information for me. There’s some reddit threads out there too but I digress.
Some excerpts that I think sum up the article, Druckmann’s bias, and explains the criticisms people have always had about tlou’s writing.
But "cycles of violence" are a poor way to understand a conflict in a meaningful way, especially if one is interested in finding a solution. Personally, I’ve come to understand that people who cling to the Cycle of Violence as human nature, especially concerning community/global conflict have an deep misunderstanding of humanity.
This post details an article that requires an account to access, but elaborates on a certain mentality about Landback movements:
Additionally, the casting for tlou2 adaptation has come out and it’s a shit show:
Dina (the only Jewish character in the series + her fam) will be played by a very skinny conventionally attractive Hispanic non-Jewish woman who is allegedly a Zionist
Abby will be played by a very skinny conventionally attractive 5’2” woman who is also allegedly a Zionist
Also worth noting since some redditors misunderstood: the author is NOT saying Palestinians are literally like the Scars, the entire point is that Neil created the Scars to parallel how HE (biased) sees the conflict.

Over the last couple of years, I have made a concerted effort to avoid overtly political, or religious posts ( however, comments upon others posts have remained fair game ).
It has been a struggle, because the politics at both ends of the spectrum are a mess, and quite frankly, terrifying.
The left has completely and utterly lost their ever loving ( and I mean that literally ) minds. Love is truly love, and I fully support gay marriage and gay partner rights. I fully support gender identity choices in how a person lives their lives. Their pronouns are theirs, and there should be no issue with this. However, tansgender athletics is nonsense, because a year of hormone therapy, and a current hormone number that meets ‘gender normal’ does not overcome or offset a decade or more of body adaptations with cross gender normal numbers. Meaning, a birth gender male, once choosing to adopt a female gender identity, should not qualify to compete against birth gendered females. Of course, there are other things, climate change, COVID vaccines, and of course, abortion as a contraceptive ( yeah, I know all of the arguments, I am pro-choice, or more specifically, that as a male, I have ZERO say in the matter ).
The right however, has gone every bit as overboard, and borderline religious extremist, as in ‘they will not admit it, but they are pushing ‘Taliban’ levels of religious based intolerance’. The level of fear mongering and hateful rhetoric coming from the right is terrifying, and DEEPLY anti-democracy, anti-religious freedoms, anti-free speech, all while actively trying to protect their own rights and civil liberties. So much is being made about corporations choosing to embrace inclusivity that the right is raging against, and yet, this inclusivity should be both a priority ( if they in fact believe in the Christian teachings of love and inclusivity ) and a financial obligation ( as a deeply pro-business party line ), and yet, because of some bizarre perspective on the immorality of a version of love they choose not to embrace, while that version of love has NO DIRECT IMPACT upon them, the instead cling to the ideas that those ‘others’ are ‘grooming’ their children. ( For what it is worth, if you want to talk about ‘grooming’ can we discuss the impacts of toy guns, toy cars, toy trucks, GI Joe, HALO, and Gran Tourismo along with the driving and lifestyle choices including drug use, alcohol abuse, adultery, pornography, physical abuse, emotional abuse and divorce that are all rampant throughout both spectrums, particularly at the fringes? )
None of this even begins to address the elephant in the room that is the “Boomer” generation and it’s political disingenuous behaviors where they vote to protect their own lifestyles in full knowledge and awareness that those choices are almost certainly resulting in enormous liabilities for the children that should have benefited from the generational wealth they should leave, as their own parents did for them, and yet due to these protectionist choices will bear an undue burden.
I will be honest, this post is going to cost me some long term connections. Many of whom I respect, and truly like. It will also trigger some argumentative positions that will want to defend their views. It is for these reasons that I have avoided these topics. I have too many dear friends, whom I respect deeply, that have in many ways sublimated the extreme right or left into their personal identities ( much as my gender dysphoria friends have with their own gender identities ). Many of these friends will take offense, either on political or religious grounds ( several of whom, I have offended in the past with my own deeply anti organized religion, ‘Church’, comments in the past, because while I believe that faith and belief have a purpose and place in a moral society, Churches too often twist those things into little more than power and manipulation of a community ).

So, at the end of the day, I post this because I have grown incredibly tired of the bullshit ‘silent majority’.
The ‘silent majority’ is the centrist population that is fed up with the Republicans and the Democrats. Fed up with the IRS, Fox News, and CNN. Fed up with the lies, misinformation and the outright deceit practiced by the media, advertisers and political lobbyists. We want good candidates, people that are not outright crooks like the Clintons or Trump ( and if you ask me, the Clintons have a more crooked history than Trump, which is saying something... ). The problem is, when we get ‘moderate’ candidates on the table, it is the literal definition of ‘good because not awful’ that is the Biden result.

At some point, right, left, center, straight, gay, other, religious or atheist, it falls on us, each and everyone of us, to reject the extremes, reject hate, and divisiveness, and demand love, honor, respect, and competence in ourselves, our elected officials and our churches.
Until then, we get to keep the train wreck that has given us Clinton, Bush, Obama, Trump and Biden ( along with a ‘Moral Majority’ that takes it’s cues from the likes of Jerry Falwell, Lyndsey Graham, Majorie Taylor Greene, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, Bernie Sanders etc ).

The problem is not the politicians and church leaders. The problem is the people that keep enabling these idiots.

Today’s question: is the current 30-State attack on public schools a result of underfunded public pension plans?
Defunding public schools in favor of Charters and Vouchers would convert any teachers in those schools to private employees. Those teachers would then be covered by Social Security since they would not qualify for the exemption.
Depending on the fund set ups many of these ex-public employees might lose any pension benefits if they aren’t fully vested.
Since public schools spend a third of their budgets on these underfunded pension plans, the municipalities, counties, and states would be out from under the property taxes increases required to fund the shortfalls. As well as the coming fire storm when it becomes apparent they don’t have enough funding for the guaranteed pensions.
As an extra ‘benefit’ in right to work states the exodus of teachers would break the unions. Resulting in the inevitable stifled wages in any remaining school districts.
Perhaps then this attack on schools is not being driven by the Christian Jihadists, though they benefit from it. The Christian Jihadists are attacking public schools as (1) a threat to their Leadership’s profitable trance induced ritualized brainwashing programs and (2) the Laity’s projection of their individual unresolved childhood traumas with their parent(s) onto a “Father-figure” deity who demands they turn every community into a version of Silent Hill or the Taliban s Afghanistan. (“Shhh, don’t wake/ upset Daddy/Mommy or you’ll get the belt/no supper/toys broken/tossed out.”)
But are the Christian Jihadists making those BIG campaign ‘donations’ so critical to getting anything out of a legislative body? Naaaah.
I’m speculating that this attack on schools is being driven by the Proto-fascist representatives who, although elected by the Christian jihadists, only ever serve the vested interests of Big Money.
Big Money is only ever looking to cut taxes…for themselves. Or slurp up some public money they paid the proto-fascists to give them.
——————————————————————-
40 or 50 other developed countries solve the funding of retirement with Social Security for All - including those who work in the home without benefit of paycheck.
In part because after WW2 when these newly liberated countries were resetting up their systems, they believed in the public relations BS the USA was putting out about itself. So these other countries modeled their systems on a propaganda fantasy we created. It’s a good fantasy.
But they also live in countries that don’t have our weird aversion to using public tax funding for the public good.
Nor our inability to understand that - although one payroll deduction is higher than any other national, state, or local tax - the aggregate of all those individual taxes is much higher than that one payroll deduction.
Afterall, in the USA it’s “common sense” that Libertarian Texans pay less taxes than people living in the “tax-loving” People’s Republic of California. Even after several Texas newspapers have pointed out the contrary.
Propaganda - it’s so…propagating

yes my opinion on this only holds so much weight because no, i have not lived under a purdah system, neither under sharia. theres been plenty of good books written on it though. some women are completely against it, some women like it, some want to reform it etc; and throughout history and different islamic (and hindu and probably other) societies its been implemented differently
but ive always held that the segregation itself isnt the issue. on one hand we can say taken to an exteme yes it is part of patriatchy and it is opressive (extreme examples such as what the taliban is doing, not allowing women to engage in public life at all and public life becoming the domain of men) and a way to control female sexuality for the sake of the patrilinial line. on the other hand. i dont necessary think at all it has to be inherently opressive or sexist. in fact there are matriarchal, indigenous societies which are sex segregated - mostly on the basis of the matrilinial line living together; these are societies in which the women chose segregation, while they are in power
the purdah allows women a space of all women, in which they can be without the bother of their opressors and any man who is sexually attracted to them - which i do believe is necessary for the healing of the female psyche. it allows, in some enstatements, for the women of the community to have spaces together, where they can be safe from the immediate threath (and annoyance) of men - while they work, they cook, they clean, they sowe, they chat and hang out and relax. for niqabis and hijabis, it allows a space where one does not have to be covered, or concerned about rules in regards to the other sex. the lack of more women-only spaces in the west actually makes being a hijabi, but particularly a niqabi, harder. the hijab and niqab are themselves part of the purdah as well; and personally, yes, ive always enjoyed the ability to be in public without having the shape of my body, or my beauty and attractivess, being seen (even tho men sexualize everything no matter what you do); and i have always appreciated that usually when you veil, men understand to keep their hands to themselves and some distance
and most of us know, how the energy chages in a room, when youre all women and suddenly a man walks in. it shifts, there is a tensness however subtle which enters, and suddenly, the conversation is never as open and raw and honest as it was before the dude walked in
lets take masjids for example - i actually dont like that some of the more progressive masjids have done away with the segregation. ive actually always enjoyed that when i go i can be with all sisters, and i have exactly 0 desire for men to be behind my ass when i am praying and bowing down and etc. exactly z e r o i am not at all comfortable with that. ive enjoyed that for eid i have mostly sat and mingled with sisters
my issue then, is moreso the masjids which do not have space for women at all, or in which women are always behind the men - which is unnecessary, because we could just be side by side. my issue then, is its implementation
if society is to be partially segregated, than it needs to be so in a way which is egalitarian. and as i said earlier, i wish it was. i wish there were more womens girls and schools, gardens, stores, events, restaurants, jobs whatever. but. i do think purdah systems can be kept and refotmed and actually be to the benefit of women -- and i have not particularly found integrated modern society to be any more ~progressive and better for women bc, again, in actuality what it means is that there is v little space to just. be without men and not have to deal with any of it, from the minor sexism to the psychological toll of sexual harassment and harder sexism

"Arrows." Introduction to The Krishna Upanishad, the Exploration of the Mysteries of the Scourging of the Wicked.
Tumblr media
The date or author of Krishna Upanishad is unknown. It is likely a late medieval era text. Manuscripts of this text are also found titled as Krsnopanisad. In the Telugu language anthology of 108 Upanishads of the Muktika canon, narrated by Rama to Hanuman, it is listed at number 96.
The Upanishad mentions 16108 maidens which is without a doubt Hebrew Gematria, it also mentions the evolution of Ramchandra into Krishnah. The Value in Hebrew means י״הח‎ץ "arrows" and the evolution of Ram which is a bhij, means "the desire to bring OM Tat Sat and Chit into being through speech".
The more one practices at the bow, the more accurate the aim of the archer will become. Since our world is very populous with the dipshitz, we are going to benefit a great deal form archery practice and gain some ground with all the social justice we decided to leave behind a few days ago.
The Upanishad is short, one page, and speaks of translation of the not-self into the Self through various stages of transition. The ovulation of Lord Krishna out of Sri Ramchandra is important as it signifies the first mission of man upon learning to speak, read, and write is obeisance to a way of life that is not violent, is completely chivalrous.
The Upanishad also mentions goddess Kali, who represents the wrath of the gods especially violence towards women. When violence towards women is prevalent in spite of the fact reading, writing, arithmetic and other features of civil society are present, Ma appears to return the favor. Anyone who commits acts of horror against women must die. This includes Donald Trump, the Taliban, Amy Coney Barrett, Brett Kavanaugh, Sam Alito, etc. all those Pro-Life organizations need to be closed down, the Catholic Church etc. need to be closed down.
We live in a modern age, we cannot have these things holding us back from achieving our mutual dream of a world that is not at war we know better. In spite of the fact the Upanishad refers to Ram and Krishna, it is actually a hymn of praise to goddess Kali who has come to remind women to stand their ground against the evil that is trying to swallow them up. The Upanishad says this is critical for mastery of heaven, to bring it down to earth:
Om ! O Devas, may we hear with our ears what is auspicious; May we see with our eyes what is auspicious, O ye worthy of worship ! May we enjoy the term of life allotted by the Devas, Praising them with our body and limbs steady !
May the glorious Indra bless us ! May the all-knowing Sun bless us ! May Garuda, the thunderbolt for evil, bless us !
May Brihaspati the god of prayer grant us well-being ! Om ! Let there be Peace in me ! Let there be Peace in my environment !
Let there be Peace in the forces that act on me !
When the sages living in the forest visited Sri Ramachandra who was the incarnation of the ever joyful God and who was extremely pretty, they became surprised and forgetting themselves said, “We want to embrace you, Oh Lord.” The God told them, “When I reincarnate as Lord Krishna, you will be born as Gopis and then you can embrace me.”[Their wish was fulfilled in Krishnavatara.] [the scourge of the wicked.]
1 During the time of incarnation of the Lord as Krishna, Gokula became the forest heaven. Those who had done penance earlier became trees in that forest. Characters like miserliness and anger became Asuras “devils”. The Kali period which was coming was postponed till the reincarnation period was over. That Hari “remover of sin” who was very pretty reincarnated himself as a Gopa Boy. His playful nature (play with the world) was an unknowable secret. Because of that the world was enchanted. Upanishads and portions of Vedas came in the form of 16108 maidens.
The "mercy" was born as mother Rohini and the “earth mother” was born as Sathya Bhama “passion for truth”. “Humility” was born as Krishna’s friend Sudhama. “Control of senses” was born as Sage Udhawa and “Truth” was born as Sage Akroora.
The broken curd pots became to Krishna the ocean of milk so that he can play with it. This reincarnation was meant to destroy his enemies and to protect good people.
The sword in the hand of Krishna was the God of destruction, the Maheswara himself. Sage Kasyapa “a fish” was born as the mortar in Yasodha’s house “quicksilver” and The God mother Adithi became the rope which tied Krishna to the mortar.
Kali who destroys all enemies was the mace. The bow called Saranga was the illusion of the God. The harvest season of Sarad “bestows wisdom” became the meals in his house.
The lotus he held playfully was the seed for the world. Though the world was not different from all these, it appeared as if it was different. Similarly God himself did not have any differences. And the Vaikunta mastery of Vedanta, of those people who live in heaven was brought down to the world. The people who have understood this truly would get the result of their good deeds. They would get themselves released from the ties of the body and attain salvation.
May Brihaspati grant us well-being !
Om ! Let there be Peace in me ! Let there be Peace in my environment ! Let there be Peace in the forces that act on me ! Here ends the Krishnopanishad, as contained in the Atharva-Veda.

Being Black in America is so funny because you already know what systems do and don't work and the fact most were started during slavery. Like y'all really thought the system that didn't let Black folks vote until 1965, white women in 1920s, Asians and Natives in 1950s would ever do something good? I wish I could be that ignorant because life would be easier. America would never let a Black woman (I do not care if she's half Asian, the Asian community mainly the Indian one did not ride for her as hard as Black folks did and that's just anti Blackness at its finest) get that seat. White women would never let a Black woman have something they want before them. All that girlboss, sisterhood, "female rage", pink hat shit was never for anyone but them. Asians would never fully consign someone who is part Black as one of them because that means all the systems they benefit from (as non Blacks) would have to be dismantled and questioned.
Like this isn't just her being a woman, she's a Black woman. And society (regardless of where you at on the planet) hates to see a Black woman in a position of power. They hate it because they fear we would turn around and do them how they did/do us.
Trump getting office makes sense, am I happy no, and I been knew the world hated Black folks. I didn't realize it was to the point people would do themselves in. But hey, anything for a slice of American pie huh?
The Muslim (ie Arab Muslims, because I'm not getting lumped in that shit) community choosing Trump is the exact reason why Palestine is suffering. Sudan, Mali, Somalia etc Muslim countries but they Black ones so ain't no one finna talk about that. Yemen been having a famine my whole life, but people ain't finna talk about that. Shit even what the Taliban is doing is older than me, and again it gets mentioned as a token talk piece but people do not care. The "conflict" been going on for almost a century, ain't no way people never met a Palestinian before the 7th, y'all didn't give a fuck because it wasn't trendy to talk about it. I wouldn't be shocked if y'all actively ignored them until last year. It's getting the Stop Asian hate and Black Lives Matter treatment and I promise you people bout to "move on" as soon as the next "new" big issue happens.
The internet is so funny because none of this is new, y'all thought a country built on slavery and genocide was going to let a Black woman in that spot.
And like said in my past post Europe ain't no better because they benefit from the same exact systems. Switzerland, the Netherlands and all those "quiet" countries made money off of slave ships, off of selling weapons to other colonial powers, off of the labour or South East Asians, West Indians, and Africans. So no Europe isn't a good place they just better at hiding they shit if someone don't know where to look.
The patriarchy won't go away until white supremacy does. White supremacy won't go away until anti Blackness does. Anti Blackness won't go away until non Black people acknowledge their bias. The bias wont go away until people realize all skin folk ain't kin folk regardless of race.
I'm not pissed, I'm tired.
