just visited a french ski area that's largely not been Discovered by the anglophone holidayers, and additionally im a very strong skiier with prosocial instincts, so if i see someone fall in front of me who isn't obviously accompanied i will tend to stop just below them and see if they need help

anyway it's been fun trying to work out whether it's that grown men are perplexed by being offered chivalry by a tiny girl, or whether it's just that theyre a bit thrown by seeing me rock up in my oversized no-brand men's ski jacket winter motorbike pants and cylindrical lense framed goggles, execute a technique-perfect parallel stop on the slope that just felled them, and intone "Cava?" in the jankiest accent they heard in their lives
