like yeah i do actually have my own idea i’d love to cultivate into its own novel but i also really wanna write about louis philippe’s years in exile, or at least from his first time in palermo until he was able to go back to france

#personal #i'll shut up about this eventually i promise i know y'all don't care #but like even outside of his marriage to My Girl #imagine being this guy #you really believe in the ideals of this revolution #but then this revolution gets super trigger happy so you decide to defect because you're also fighting in the army for them #but because you defect the revolution jails your father and your brothers #and you can't be with your sister and mom in exile because the revolutionaries hate you for defecting #and the emigres hate you for your father being philippe egalité #so you're on your own and you hear that your father (after he denounced you) was still guillotined #so you're alone and your dad is dead *because of you*#and your brothers finally get released and you all meet up (in post revolutionary america seriously they met hamilton)#and then you spend some time in sicily (becoming friends with the NIECE OF MARIE ANTOINETTE) but when you leave #both of your brothers die in england #because they never fully recovered from illnesses they had in prison (where they were because of you)#and your favorite brother dies specifically right next to you asking you to hold his hand #and then you can't even marry an english princess because catholic #so then you go BACK to sicily and your sister and mom are still away from you so you're totally alone #like that's fucking rough #and that's not even touching on the fact that he only tried to marry his wife AFTER coming back to sicily the second time #i've still got more shit he did
