Just saw your recent Darius posts and you've managed to put into words exactly how I feel about him. There is clear evidence of his heel turn in canon, and by the end of the series it is very apparent just how much he cares about Hunter. But before that he was Not Nice, he actively contriubuted to the heavy isolation that Hunter was under. You already described why the head chop scene was not as cute as it appeared at face value, but giving him a scroll and telling him to make connectins outside the castle was So Dangerous. He told a kid who was being violently abused to blatantly disgregard his abusers rules.

To be clear I do like Darius' character, he's screwed up badly and made phenominally bad choices, but so did Lilith, so did Gwen. Owl house is good about showing characters making bad mistakes and showing the steps they made to come back from them. With Darius I was looking forward to seeing the development of his and Hunter's bond, to show how damaging Darius' prior bevatior was and showing Darius working hard to make up for it. But then the show just kind of...didn't.

Again, I like Darius' character a lot, but I feel a ball was dropped when it came to writing his and Hunter's relationship.

I agree. Like I know I come across as a hate but I've written! Hundreds of thousands of words! At this point! About Darius and Darius self driven redemption and absolution! I am deeply invested in him! I write Lilith with similar baggage! And I write a WILDLY specific Raine! I'm not a hater. I love Darius. I just also love him knowing his a mean piece of shit who has some extremely serious flaws and actions he needs to apologize and make up for.

Darius and hunters relationship is such an odd one. Most major issues like this are because of season 3 getting shortened, like hunter didn't get his arc finished. Like he basically WAS done, he escaped and we were seeing him bloom away from that control. But then they decided to have the whole possession thing which ITSELF I think was fine and even like a sick ass scene. But also. That starts an entirely new era in his arc. Escaping his abuser did not end his trauma; abusers often reenter your life, or even when dead that trauma can well up within you and poison you later. And I like flapjacks death for FLAPJACKS character arc. But for hunter at that point it becomes messy because. That's the end of that arc basically. They try to... Do something? In for the future with Willow but. That's nothing tbh. We finish with hunter still retraumatized and paranoid and grieving with no... Like... Actually processing it? No end to that arc. So as much as I actually DO like the possession scene- if they couldnt finish that plotline, I don't think they should have started it.

But Darius and hunter??? That's season 2. And Darius was always going to be a puppet until the collector was turned and likely Belos defeated even with a full season. So even with that full season we probably wouldn't have had any more Darius and hunter interactions at all. Like again, the timeline immediately after labyrinth runners with hunter is a little unclear, and I think he was staying with Darius but ????? Who knows dude they don't even say. So like. Season 2 they had all the time they needed to plan out the arc of that relationship and ALSO it was never going to have any more meaningful screentime, so. Uh. Uh? The hell was that

Picture it: All the Nocedas are operating on the same wavelength. They all know that Luz is Apparently a Princess in a magical fantasy realm, they can intuit that Luz’s wiped memory is something magical, and they all know that there’s an evil magical Empire and that Belos is definitively Real and Evil. Luz comes to rely on Vee and Camila as her actual genuine family while she struggles with piecing herself back together. Vee’s initial distrust of Luz is shattered by knowing that Belos did something magical to her to try and break her, and comes to think of her as a Real Sister.

And then Hunter shows up. And Vee grabs Luz and pushes her behind herself. And Screams. “THATS THE GOLDEN GUARD! HE WORKS FOR BELOS!!!”

Awful. Awful. Awful. Actual Hell.

I FORGOT TO ADD ONTO THAT LAST ASK ABOUT IF VEE'S THERE: Vee helping Luz get accustomed to being in the human realm, showing her how to be human, letting her know that most humans are really nice, actually! Luz feeling Vee slot into some kind of protector role in that little void existing in her heart where something (someone) used to be.... and THEN Hunter shows up. And Vee reacts like that. How do you even RECOVER from there. God.

compound this with the fact that belos would Definitely have been physically abusive to luz in the human world -- which is Deeply upsetting to think about, but like. luz having injuries when she's found by some kind campers in the middle of the woods, doctors confirming she has clearly Been Thru Some Shit, neither camila nor vee know how long that was going on or who else was involved. LUZ doesn't know how long it was going on because her memories are swiss cheese.

Hmm!! Yeah I think it would absolutely be easier to drop info about the AU in little bits at a time depending on what questions I get. I've already thought about almost everybody in this AU and where they're situated but I guess I was getting overwhelmed with thinking about writing it all down at once.

Anyways!! Miss Luz Noceda!!

In this universe, the "fancy hospital" was located in California so Luz and her parents packed up and moved from Conneticut when she was a little kid. Her Dad Manny spent a few years drifting away, slowly at first, and then all at once. And Luz, a girl who's already a bright and imaginative storyteller, falls deeply in love with the fantasy book he left her.

What begins as a healthy coping mechanism devolves into escapism as Luz desperately clings to fiction in order to endure the difficulty of real life. School is hard, making friends is hard and nobody really understands her hobbies and passions, not even her mom (Even if she tries. She tries so hard.)

Living on the outskirts of the world of showbusiness, Luz quickly takes an interest in the magic of the screen. More than anything else, Luz wants to create. And creation comes in many forms and she has no intention of being confined to just one. Luz wants to be an actor, a writer, a director, an artist, an animator, a singer, a dancer, etc etc.

It's when her mom Camila finally puts her foot down and insists that Luz needs to learn to separate fantasy from reality, that her life really kicks off.

The Reality Check Center, an after school program which Luz is meant to attend every week day at 3:30pm sharp.

But after meeting somebody special, this is not where Luz goes every day after school.

Instead, Luz is hanging out in the house of Edalyn Clawthorne, an ex-starlet who Luz recognized on sight as Hecate in the 1980s Azura film adaption.

It's always been a mystery why Eda did not reprise her role for any of the sequels/spinoffs that Hollywood churned out for years afterwards. But upon meeting her and learning a little more of her story, Luz learns the truth from behind the scenes.

Eda has a chronic autoimmune disease and she was considered too "inconvenient" to have as a star of the franchise, so she was quietly let go after the first film released. She hasn't acted since and really has no intention of returning to that life.

Luz idolizes Eda and quickly latches on to her, demanding that she be her mentor and show her the ropes of showbiz. Eda hems and haws for a while before being worn down by Luz's persistent enthusiasm.

Luz meets Willow when the latter is trying to talk herself out of having a complete meltdown and the two quickly bond over being a pair of neurodivergent academically and socially challenged silly billies.

Willow is weak for pretty girls so she lets Luz talk her into sneaking her on set. Predictably, Luz causes havoc and gets banned from the premises within a few hours.

But that's okay! Because guess what! Turns out Luz is a perfect third musketeer for the funky little friend group Willow and Gus already had going on.

Luz does tons of stuff. She writes fanfiction. She has several notebooks full of anime art. But most notably, she has a YouTube channel.

Remember mid 2000s YouTube? Before it became the corporate husk that it is today? Back when it was just kids dicking around and posting their dumb silly vlogs.

Thats what Luz does. She posts dumb silly vlogs. She infodumps to the camera about her interests, she films herself while she's out with her friends. She just has fun, yknow?

Willow and Gus have fun too. Considering they are featured in like 90% of Luz's videos, laughing and joking around with her. But thats not all they do.

Willow, who has spent several months being the butt of the joke in the the Hexside show, is experiencing what it's like to be behind a camera while being respected and loved.

Willow is an exceptionally talented rollerskater. So of course Luz is filming her do tricks around the skatepark, whooping and hollering and chanting her name. Willow has a huge interest in botany. And superhero comics. And photography. And romcoms. And Luz will let her share fun facts about her interests, or maybe even babble for a bit, and Luz will act as though she's privileged to speak to a professor of the subject. It makes Willow blush and giggle, pretending it's not a big deal.

It's a huge deal actually.

It's through Luz's vlogs that Willow's authentic personality finally bleeds through the screen. Willow Park is not Paulina. She's not ditzy. She's not unobservant. She's something else entirely.

Willow Park is soft spoken but opinionated. She is witty and expressive. She's tough and sporty. She's wise beyond her years. She's wild and mischievous. She's sweet and silly. She's so many things that she'll make your head spin.

The scripts of the final Hexside S1 episodes are beginning to trickle out around this time and honestly? The writers are sick of Paulina. They're tired of the character. They're tired of the "She's stupid" joke. They feel like they've hit a brick wall with her, in a creative sense. But now they have Season 2 to work on and...ugghhh...

That's when one writer just happens to stumble across TheGoodWitchLuzura on YouTube and finds two young actors that they know very well, just existing outside of the set.

Willow is different on Luz's videos. While on set around the likes of Amity and Adrian, she simply keeps quiet, keeps her head down and does what she's told. She doesn't really spark any inspiration, yknow?

But after seeing this? This bright, sharp witted, skater girl on a griny camera recording? Well after seeing that, they really start feeling the urge to maybe spruce up Paulina's character a bit. Make her a little more compelling.

So, in that way, Luz Noceda completely changed Willow Park's life.

Willow still doesn't think she believes in God but if angels exist, Luz is definitely one of them.

If you said this to Luz, she'd disagree. She'd prefer to be a Demon >:3

ANYWAY!! On to the Belos question.

See, I think I'm going to take inspiration from the show's canon version of the Wittebane family as an endless cycle of pain and suffering.

Philip and Caleb Wittebane were a pair of orphan boys that managed to somehow weasel their way into the spotlight at an early age. It fed them well. It kept a roof over their heads. So that meant that this was a nice life, right?

The two brothers were considered timeless stars and their names would go down in history as some of Hollywood's finest.

In the year 1990, Caleb Wittebane was found dead in his home at the age of 30. Based on the evidence, it appeared he had taken his own life.

Philip was then given custody of his brother's infant son and promised that the boy would be raised to understand just what a wondrous legacy his father left behind.

Caleb Wittebane may have been buried 6ft under but Philip had no intention of letting him die. His DNA was still preserved, attached to this fat clump of an infant.

This baby was Caleb's second chance to live. Philip was going to make sure his stupid brother made the right choices this time.

Caleb wasn't going to throw it all away this time. Philip wouldn't let him.

1.) not you joking that hunters my favorite character 💀😭😭 /s. nowhere near my favorite character bestie 😭😭😭.

MY FAVORITE character in all seriousness is amity or raine!!! (luz is a close tie with amity bc i was a luz kin first.) but both of their characters mean SO much to me. especially raine's. i wont go ramble heavy but a lot of the reason i love the queer characters in the show are because of the fact that their "queerness" is not made into a character trait. people acknowledge raine as who they are and dont question or think of their identity as a negative. most of the media i found growing up centered around stories about queer people and their journey to realization OF being queer, and not where they already knew. thats one of the most definitive reasons i love toh so much too.

their identities and sexualities arent a "oh theyre the gay character" or "oh thats the nonbinary one" its an extension of themselves beneath other traits. because as a queer person myself theres WAY more that makes me myself than the fact that i identify the way i do. seeing amity develop feelings on screen for luz and then choose for herself on what she wanted. breaking away from her mother and destroying the rhetoric of what was assumed and assigned onto her.

people will talk shit about it and how "amity changed for luz" or blah blah blah. but thats not entirely true. when luz met amity, she saw her as who she was. not a name. not a rich girl. she threatened her stability. the comfort. luz encouraged her in ways that no one had before. about things amity found passion in. especially Azura!! amity changed because she realized she wanted more than what her parents forced onto her. luzs carefree and comfort being WARM and encouraging to do things that SHE ENJOYED. amity changed because she wanted to be more than her parents and be happy and luz just so happened to be the catalyst of that. and raine- as a nonbinary person makes me feel so validated.

2.) uhh surprisingly ive watched s1 like a good 13 or so times??? s2 though ive only watched through fully like once when i first watched it. i did watch individual eps from s2 so its not like i hadnt watched it ONLY once. s3 at least 4 times. s1 is definitely my favorite. even if like the real plot started coming in during s2. the nostalgia of 2020 and the fandom during that time is probably my reason. s1 lumitys energy and lumity as a ship was so simple and yet different.

3.) i think the fandom forgave camila too quickly for what she did to luz. it irks me how they then turned around and "noceda siblings" became a full thing. meanwhile people forget that darius wanted the best for hunter??? "he only had _" shut up. the show was shortened!!! WHO came to hunter during s3? NOT camila. it was darius and ebber! that man is more of a candidate for a parent for hunter than camila. vee and luz as sisters? YES valid. i love that. but hunter does NOT need to be included in literally everything regarding luz. people forget that king literally called himself luzs brother. "your family now" does NOT have to mean a familial tie. there are some friends who are so close like brother and sister BUT THEY ARENT. i cant stand noceda siblings. dadrius is just something that makes sense and i like the parallel potential of it. however speaking i will not get pissy if someone enjoys it, these characters are subjective. as long as you dont tear down others favorites and are respectful i have no issue with differing of beliefs. its just for me personally i wish it wasnt so... forgetful of king and luzs siblinghood.

4.) ive covered hunter before. i don't really like him all that much just due to how fandom treats him. his character in canon is cool though. i like dadrius. its the exception. grimwalker lore still feels very interesting though.

"UNCLE BELOS!" Hunter's scream echoed through the empty, weird dark room, his hands reaching out to grab something, anything, but it was useless. The blurry silhouette of what looked like magic portals was all he could see as he felt his body falling into an endless cliff. It was all too quick, he couldn't even register what has just happened.

As if it would somehow protect him from the fall, Hunter's eyes were shut and his arms were tightly wrapped around his frame. He didn't know how or when, but his butt hit the ground. Really hard. Ouch.

Opening his eyes, he noticed something really weird: the place he landed looked nothing like Belos' dark room, it was actually quite the opposite. It was very illuminated and he could hear happy voices coming from everywhere. There wasn't anyone else with him and Belos, was there? Well, Kikimora was there as well, but he highly doubted the happy voices were hers...

Examining the place, he noticed he had never seen such a beautiful place in his whole life. He was so used to the Boiling Isles' dirty streets and dark clouds he was even surprised to see green grass and normal flowers a few meters away from where he fell. They weren't the magic ones that could kill him at any moment. They were so pretty. Was it even real?

That was when he remembered hearing something about it... What was it again? Hunter forced his mind to show him anything that was related to the view in front of him when it all finally clicked; he was in the human world!

He remembered hearing Belos' stories about the human world and how beautiful it was. He never imagined he'd see it in person one day, but not everything's under our control, right?

Hunter finally decided to get up, adjusting his white clothes that were now a bit dirty. He was too busy cleaning himself he failed to notice the family passing by.

"Look, mamá!" he heard someone say and the family approached him, the girl staying behind as her mom came closer to him.

"Oh, poor thing. Are you lost, querido?"

Hunter's head followed the owner of the voice, finding a woman looking at him gently as two girls – twins, maybe? – curiously eyed him.

"Huh? I'm not-" he stopped mid sentence. Well, in fact he was lost. But why should he trust strangers he just met and tell them he was lost? What if they wanted to kidnap him?! But... they looked so nice, they wouldn't hurt him, right..? They might even try to help him come back home! He shyly nodded, head low again.

"Where are your parents? Where do you live? Is it near here? We'll take you there." the woman questioned, examining the boy.

"I.. I live with my uncle" Hunter answered. "But we're not from here, and I don't know how to come back home."

"That's so sad" he heard one of the girls say and the other one comforted her.

"You can stay with us today and tomorrow we can go to the police and try to find your uncle." the woman said and Hunter hesitated a bit but finally nodded, thanking her. "I'm Camila, by the way. And these are my daughters, Luz and Vee."

The girls waved at him happily and he waved back, smiling."I'm Hunter."

That was about over a year ago. Camila went to the police station with Hunter the next day to try to find his uncle, but they had no success. Well, it wasn't really a surprise to him since they were from another world. He then started living with them, at least just until they found Belos or Hunter could be sent to a home for lost children.

It was actually pretty nice to live with the Noceda's, it was as if they were his own family. Camila treated him as if he was her son and Luz and Vee were like his younger sisters. They even went to the same school and he quickly befriended all their friends.

Speaking of school, the whole "superhero story" started when they were going to school. After receiving a cheek kiss and a warm hug from Camila, the three teenagers headed to the bus stop, excitedly talking about the movie they'd watch after school.

Hunter was about to open his mouth to say something when something else caught his attention; an old man was crossing the street with his walking stick, but there was a car approaching the man, a few meters away from his body.

Ignoring the girls' confused questions, Hunter quickly ran to the man, pulling him to the sidewalk just seconds before the car hit the man. He then got up and helped the man do the same.

"Thank you" said the man gratefully smiling at Hunter, who just smiled back.

"I should go now, sir. Please be safe" and then he ran to where his sisters were, being greeted by a very worried Vee and an worried but excited Luz, asking thousands of questions of what it felt like saving someone from being hit by a car. Hunter blushed as he told her they should go or else they'd miss their classes.

From afar, the old man smiled satisfied. "I guess we already found the perfect one, Wayzz."

School sucked as always. Ms. Mendeleiev could only complain about everyone's project for 2 hours straight and Chloé Bourgeois wouldn't leave Hunter alone for one second, always laughing about something he said or saying mean stuff about his looks. What a day.

Sighing, he entered his room and carefully placed his bag next to his bed before laying down, immediately feeling relaxed. After a few minutes, he finally decided to get up so he could eat something but he stopped when he saw something unfamiliar.

There was a small black box on his table and he furrowed, trying to remember when he got this. It wasn't his and he didn't remember seeing it anywhere in the house. He'd just ignore it, but his curiosity spoke louder. A little peak wouldn't hurt, right?

Opening the box, he quickly threw it away and let out a scream, surprised by the thing in front of him. "CAMILA!"

"No, no, no, no! Don't call anyone, I promise I won't hurt you! Just please don't call her!"

If Hunter wasn't scared before, he definitely was now. Did that thing just fucking speak?! It could only be a dream, or one of Luz's pranks. It couldn't be real. Was he crazy?

"What is it, Hunter?" Camila's worried voice reached the boy's room and the thing just flew closer to Hunter, silently asking him not to tell her. The boy sighed in defeat, rolling his eyes before answering.

"I-It's nothing, I just saw a rat and thought it was something else! Nothing to worry about!" he shouted back and heard a quiet "okay" as an answer. He then turned to the black, flying thing in front of him, who looked very... offended?

"Excuse me, but did you just call me a rat?!"

"Sorry, I didn't mean to" Hunter apologized with a chuckle "But now, what the hell are you? Are you a palisman?! Uncle Belos told me about them, but I'm pretty sure they don't exist in the human world, right?"

"Palisman? What are you talking about?" the thing asked, but before the boy could reply the thing spoke again. "I'm Plagg, and I'm not a palisman. I'm a Kwami!"

Plagg then explained everything about the Miraculous and the superhero world to Hunter, who listened carefully to every word he said. He then told him he was the new Cat Noir, one of the heroes who would protect the city from now on.

It was all so crazy at first, being Cat Noir wasn't easy at all. Having to fight a villain and protect people was hard, but it was all worth it. He got used to the lifestyle after a few days and started to enjoy this crazy life, it was actually just like being the Golden Guard, but a little more exciting.

He even started developing feelings for a certain black and red superhero who was his partner in being a hero...

"Hey, kitty. Sorry I'm late, I had some trouble before coming." you apologized when you arrived at the place you and Cat Noir would usually go to.

"M'lady, I'm glad you're here" Cat Noir greeted as he placed a kiss on the back of your hand, giving you a charming smile.

It was actually funny the way his personality changed so much when he was being Hunter and when he was Cat Noir. While being Hunter, he'd never be able to talk to Ladybug without being a blushing mess and stuttering all over his words. But while being Cat Noir it was a completely different story; he was so confident, it was as if he was someone else.

"Here, I got this for you" he said, giving you a beautiful red rose and you smiled gratefully at him, placing the rose behind your ear.

"How do I look?"

"Just like a masterpiece. You're the prettiest girl I've ever met, you know." he replied honestly and you felt your face getting hot at his compliment.

"You're overreacting. There are plenty of girls way much prettier than me." you hid your face in your hands, too shy to look at him.

Smiling softly at how cute you looked, he approached your body. His covered hands softly wrapped themselves around your wrists, carefully pulling them away from your face, making your eyes meet his magenta ones. "You're beautiful, bugaboo."

"And so are you, kitty" you placed a shy smile on his cheeks and he smiled brightly, his cheeks and pointy ears getting just as red as your uniform and the rose he just gave you. He was just too adorable, you couldn't help but give his soft cheek another peck.

Giggling like the teenagers in love you were, the two of you spent the rest of the afternoon together, talking, eating and making flower crowns for each other. Well, flirting and being an adorable mess too, but no one needs to know that, right? ;)
