my dm for this game has us come up with these basically bonds/threads our characters are attached to basically like friends and family, their religion, someone you owe a debt to who may be looking for you, enemies, fears/phobias, mysteries, secrets. etc.

and from there the dm creates like scenarios that might occur from those threads. and my character has preatty much solved all their major conflicts at this point but i still want to be a part of the group so ive been tasked with coming up with new threads and i am....having such a hard time cause my brain will fucking not stop tripping over itself with my goddamn adhd even tho ive drank coffee about it 🤧

people talking abt asha as if she is a massive contrast/change to the wildmother in cr2 is confusing to me like were you paying attention? like, obviously she is softer, exandria has had a long time to heal from the calamity (though, not particularly long on a nature scale but long enough for healing, enough for civilisation and nature to be more balanced hence her less-strained relationship with erathis) so she's far calmer, but she's also fully the wildmother again rather than a wolf. but even then, as much as a commune with her feels like she's a mother holding caduceus like a child she also does give him the power to swarm people with insects that burrow into their eyes and eat their tongues. she's the fish and the osprey that catches it, shes parasites and snakes and foals and rabbits and wildflowers and mountains and springs and thorns and teeth. thats literally part of caduceus' whole character - his softness and compassion contrasted with him being very clear and open about the violence of nature and that death happens and things are killed and their bodies feed the earth. like the brutality is always there, but its more balanced now, and at present the wildmother's just not as cornered (or suffocated in a city with so much light pollution that you can't see the stars). she's not starving anymore

when toshiro got on laios ass for being inconsiderate and never thinking about how his actions affect others like he was mean abt it but hes not wrong. Thats a pretty major character flaw and a pattern of behavior for laios — w not choosing jobs that made money for namari who is in a pretty dire financial situation where she cant even get off the island and has to go adventuring in the dungeon to get out of debt, who even explicitly brought this up, eating marcilles familiar immediately even tho she was attached to it, kidnapping shuro into his party and putting him in life threatening situations without like really checking he wanted to be there…?, wanting to see if izutsumi has more than one set of nipples when dehumanization is a HUGE huge issue for her the list goes on and on and on. Like when a friend does this to you its just kinda annoying but when ur the leader u really should be checking if everyones needs r met without them telling u. Like the autism plays a factor for sure, his cultural upbringing plays a factor for sure, but as ppl regardless I think u gotta step up to meet the needs of ppl in the moment or realize u shouldnt be calling the shots. just bc its influenced by factors out of ur control does not make it not a serious character flaw. And its written as such in the story.

He has no friends, doesn't speak to his family, when you're deeply lonely you don't think about clothes, you're not using them for anything besides work and grocery shopping so who cares?

I find it interesting when people say they like Nancy except when she's a girlfriend. Interesting because more often then not people are just upset her top priority isn't a guy or that she won't bend over backwards for a guy(usually steve). It's not actually sn analysis of her character or an understanding of her and what role that plays.

But I think Nancy is one of those characters where you can see her growth/change/development through her romantic relationships with Steve and then with Jonathan. Like we didn't get Jonathan's whole spiel about her conforming and living the "perfect life" for no reason. We didn't get her talking about how Ted and Karen are pretty much in a false, society pleasing, relationship for no reason.

The thing is Nancy is fighting those things. She is navigating and learning, through trial and error and mistakes(we learn from mistakes) that she doesn't have to condemn herself to that fate that she's known probably all along that she didn't want. Just hadn't fully realized she could have.

Turning an isat/botw au around in my head... like siffrin takes the role of link, who after failing to save hyrule wakes up 100 years ago and has to try to save the country again. I'm just- imagine all the guilt and self doubt siffrin would feel in this scenario. He's the chosen one, able to wield the master sword, backed by the princess chosen by hylia and have 4 giant robots and piloted by the best of the best of the 4 races of hyrule. At least, that's how it should be, right? But no. Everything failed. Calamity Ganon won (because you failed) , the princess is trapped in the castle to seal him (because you werent good enough to fight your way to him), and your friends are dead (because you weren't prepared) and now, 100 years later, hyrule, the land you were supposed to save, is now in ruins and ravaged by monsters with the robots that were supposed to protect everyone now wrecking havoc on the people they were supposed to protect and *it's all your fault. Because you weren't good enough to win. Because you couldn't fulfill your destiny. Because you failed-*
