As a kid I thought if I liked being around someone a lot and if I lit up when I saw them and I wanted to be close to them, that meant I had a crush on them / wanted to date them. I'm realizing that that's not exactly necessarily true, for me at least, even if that could be criteria someone else night use to determine their interest in someone. Because I think I just... have favorite people, and I don't want to date them. I just want to spend a lot of time with them, around them, interact with them, etc. This is not necessarily romantic interest. However the way I like to cuddle/hug/make physical contact with someone who is a Favorite Person is interpreted by others as romantic, which makes it difficult for me to make deep friendships as an adult, and also leaves me struggling to make a boundary between friends and dating with my ex boyfriend (who I broke up with due to incompatibility, because I realized I don't think I feel Romantic attraction to him, even if I enjoyed his company and spending time with him, because all of the romantic things just made me uncomfortable and awkward, and it felt one-sided in a way I felt was unfair to both of us). He still likes me but agreed to be friends, but we work in the same store so we see each other a lot at work, and then my approach to friendship in general really is basically 'hello favorite person!', plus I got used to being more touch-receptive towards him when we dated and it would feel like not being friends if i didnt. bc ive stopped being so hugs and physical touch with friends because it feels like tbats reserved for romantic relationships in other people's eyes and makes it awkward, so i had to work on allowing myself to do so with a boyfriend and now i feel weird not reaching out or protesting him reaching out either because to me that IS friendship but because he likes me and we dated he's getting the impression that I want to date again. which makes me irritable and frustrated a bit. Idk

I guess I'm just... idk. I think I'm more aro than I thought, but I still want a committed relationship, but romantic things make me feel uncomfortable, and what I like to receive and give in a relationship vascilates between 'romantic' and 'friendship'. Hugs and cuddling, yes. Going on dates, yes. Kissing on lips nope, its too weird i dont like it. Kissing cheek/forehead/similar, kinda yeah thats comforting to receive and something i can manage to give to a partner with practice. Holding hands, eeehhhhhhh, not really my thing at all(for autistic reasons, holding hands is like eye contact, weird and uncomfortable for me in most situations). Sex, nope, no, and the idea that my partner is interested in sex with me or is attracted to me that way is actually a turnoff lolol, like if i think ahat they want is nore than cuddling it ruins cuddling, for example, even if they might say they're cool about me being ace and don't need to act on their attraction (obviously) it just wigs me out unfortunately. Cuddling and hugging aren't romantic to me inherently, they can be but aren't necessarily. Oh, the thing my ex did where he hugged me and then picked me up and spun me around, that was very appreciated and sweet and definitely the kind of gesture I like and found romantic. Even tho that can also be platonic imo too, but rhe intent was to be romantic in a sweep me off my feet way which, yes. Uhm... holding doors and pulling out my chair and stuff ehhhh, apparently part of me wants to do that for my partner instead of the other way around, maybe bc I'm Not A Girl and that feels tied up in that. Idk. Anyway o can't help but feel like I should date someone who is also somewhere on the aspec, greyro area, and ace, because it feels like an allo partner not only won't understand but also if they're attracted to me it ruins it for me. Which. Allo people experience that attraction and I doubt they would date someone they found romantically interesting but were not sexually attracted to. Idk. And also it doesn't need to be a romantic relationship per se, qpp sounds perfect too, we just need to be each other's Person. Favorite person, person we want to sit in the same room with and do our own stuff side by side, cuddling, and then come together and do tasks and activities together, as well, and sometimes do some things other people see as romantic. Idk.

Besides this, I also don't know how to do friendship at all I feel like. I was very touch-focused with mostly close friends as a teen and even in college, until my bestie moved away, and i kind of lost how to do the friend thing long term. I'm either too huggy or I'm too distant. Idk. Idk

EARTH INVASION - this is a no-sburb au where the alternian empire came and took over earth as a colony, also all the trolls exist at the same time as the revolution so like the whole vantas family gets to help out, and the humans are taken as like property cause theyre Technically Lowbloods but theyre Not having it so they all escape and join the rebellion and take down the GOVERNMENT

TROLLSTUCK - daves a mutantblood (same idea where all troll generations exist at the same time) and he finds the vantas rebellion and JADE is a LIMEBLOOD and she is NOT having a good time but shshhs shh its ok shes an olive its FINE

CYBERSTUCK - this one is really really specific, uhh its a post-apocalyptic dystopian cyberpunk futuristic humanstuck where the city everyone lives in once flourished with the help of several versions of androids, but as they advanced they needed more and more power which became fucking nuclear and there was a fallout. so now everythings radioactive, everyones scrounging to survive, androids from “the underground” (the main core of where most of specifically the power droids were kept) are SUPER fucking valuable cause theyre able to give you power, and the radioactivity mutated a lot of people so instead of zombies there are just mutants. and roxy is one of them but theyre still sentient so they look like fucking HEINOUSTUCK roxy but theyre still like. vibing

MAFIASTUCK - where everyone does Illegal Things but mostly not like morally illegal things. just like. yknow daves a thief and. sollux is the most wanted anonymous hacker in texas,, uh. dirk commits arson sometimes,. vriska is vriska,.. jane is in on some high key white collar crimes in the crockercorp company,, and poor john is just this normal idiot surrounded by all of this at college and hes like “god. i hate you all. please be normal”

im not an expert on different types of attraction but it might be that thats a different type of attraction (to romantic, sexual or platonic) that youre experiencing with boys? or maybe its a very low level romantic attraction?

or none of the above: i dont think you have to feel romantic attraction to a specific person to want a relationship, i get that. sometimes the idea of a relationship is nice but theres just... no one specific connected to that idea.
