not to overdo it but they made this scene with Flynn and Sora RIDICULOUSLY intimate.

not trying to prove anything in particular i just want to break down the camera work a little to show how they achieve the feeling of "intimacy" here (im a casual so i dont know any of the film terms sorry)

the scene starts with a panned out view of the entire cast. sora, flynn, donald, goofy, and maximus

Flynn's line of sight is facing Sora, telling him about what happened with Rapunzel.

this leads in nicely to the next cut, where We see Flynn, Sora, and Max, angled from behind sora's back. Flynn here is explaining he is going to rescue Rapunzel. He looks to Sora, wiggles his brows a little in his flynn rider way, before hes about to ask Sora to join him.

Right before we cut to the next shot, Max has squarely moved his head out of the frame. the focus is on Sora and Flynn.

as Flynn says the famous callback, the shot cuts in to a zoom. we're squarely in Sora's POV now. The sun is behind him but shrouded by overcast clouds. his hand is outstretched..ad his eyebrows are doing the thing.

He's asking a big favor, for Sora to come with him. (It's a very obvious callback as i already stated..but it's Sora as Riku in this parallel here)

and we cut to Sora, who raises his hand to reach Flynn. simple "yeah" response like Riku grabbing his hand in the RoD.

then a nice shot of their hands, where we pause and watch their hands as Flynn pulls Sora up onto Max's back.

really interesting how we haven't actually seen any other characters yet Not even the damn horse. this is a moment between Sora and Flynn. Sora is very happy and Flynn is making an... interesting face

...and thats it. the tension of the moment is over when D & G hop on, completely oblivious to what their boy Sora might be feeling here. We're forced out of this moment with the humorous shenanigans of donald, goofy, and later Max, who struggles to carry them all on his back. Sora is pouty and Flynn is... Staring into the camera.

DEADASS? FR? HE SAYS ALMOST THE SAME THING SORA TELLS RIKU IN KH2 ? (we'll go together) SORAS THEME IS PLAYING? ITS ODDLY FRUITY? FLYNN IS DOING HIS SMOLDER ?
