Achievements today:
Did some tasks for my favourite work project
Did a qual to hopefully open up more projects
Diagnosed (sort of) and fixed bugs in my sims 2 game
Ran outside in the rain for the first time since school (which I only used to do because I was forced to)
Confused my elderly neighbour and his raincoat-wearing dog
Stroked the dog’s floofy head
Ran more than a kilometre without taking a walking break
#feel like the running thing is more impressive when you realise that it was raining diagonally at my face (directly into my EYES)#and wind chill was something like 9 celsius. i was wearing a t-shirt and leggings mind you#this was how i confused my elderly neighbour. he just shouted something at me and i was like ‘yeah i know frank’#then i fussed his dog’s head and his dog wagged at me <3#his dog looks JUST like my old doggy; kim. which is not surprising since they’re both flatcoated retrievers#i LOVE flatties but they all kind of look the same. i mean max is a bit bigger and i think he’s entirely black#kim had runt of the litter vibes and a big white stripe down his belly and two white spots on his paws#i used to think he was a mix but i’ve heard from flattie breeders that they sometimes breed them to be smaller on purpose#and that even purebreds can have white on them. so i don’t know. dog breed of all time tbh#oh ane the sims glitch was just that i kept getting the jump bug and couldn’t work out why#but i pulled a few files out of my mods folder and eventually it stopped#weirdly it was only/mostly happening in one household? but it made that household completely unplayable so i had to fix it#i also had to delete some custom food because my sims straight up couldn’t make it#i’d go ‘make breakfast -> oatmeal’ and they’d get all the way through the process of making it#but then the bowl would disappear and they’d have to make it again.. and again.. and again#so i deleted all the files by that same creator just to be safe#i have plenty of custom foods anyway. i don’t really Need to have oatmeal#i think i’m going to stop downloading mods now that i know my current configuration is fine#just cosmetic cc from now on. and probably a lot of it. i need clothessss everyone is just in t-shirts and jeans#which i mean.. so am i (usually. right now i’m in pyjamas) but still#personal

Characteristics and facts about the Chion mixed dog breed
The Chion is a dog that is a mix of the Chihuahua and the Papillon breeds. These puppies got some of the best traits from both of their parents. They are small, playful, and obedient. Papihuahua, Pap-Chi, and Chi-a-Pap are some of the names for cions.
Even though they are designer breeds, you can find these mixed-breed dogs in shelters and breed-specific rescues. Don’t forget to adopt! Don’t shop! These cute puppies make great dogs for active city dwellers who live in apartments, but they do best in small or one-person homes.
A lot of the time, they also have a bad attitude. This dog might be the one for you if you want a silly, small dog with a big personality who will keep you on your toes, serve as an alert dog, and stick to you like glue! See below for a list of facts about Chions and characteristics of mixed-breed dogs.
Highlights
Chons are mixed-breed dogs. They are not purebred dogs like their Chihuahua or Papillon parents. The main colours of cions are white, fawn, cream, golden-dark brown, and black. Sometimes their coats are all one colour, and sometimes they have more than one. Most of the time, their coats are smooth and short to medium in length. There are also chion leaves with longer coatings, but they may not be as good for people with allergies.
Both coats are easy to take care of. I think once a week will be enough. Chions are very powerful. Make sure your dog gets at least one 30- to 60-minute walk and some active playtime and shorter walks every day. The Chion will do anything to please its owner, even though they can be stubborn and hard to train to use the bathroom.
Small dogs like the Chion are easy for kids to hurt when they want to play with them. Most of the time, chions like to be with adults or older children who know how to play gently. Other pets can get along with the Chion if they are brought together slowly and calmly. But they might like being the only pet in the house.
History
Chions have been around for a long time in their natural state, but in the late 1990s, probably in North America, people started breeding Chihuahuas and Papillons together on purpose to make them look like Chions. By crossing the two breeds, breeders hoped to make a new, cute, small puppy with the Papillon’s unique coat. As the number of people who wanted mixed-breed puppies grew, they kept making Chions.
Even though the Chion was created as a designer breed, some of them have ended up in shelters or in the care of rescue groups. If you decide that this breed is right for you, you might want to adopt. Check with your local shelters because they sometimes take in mixed-breed dogs and find homes for them. You can also look up Chion rescues or breed-specific Papillon or Chihuahua rescues.
Size
Since the Chion is a relatively new mixed breed, there aren’t many rules about how big it should be. Still, because their parents were Papillons and Chihuahuas, you can expect Chions to be on the small side. From the shoulder, they are between 5 and 11 inches tall and weigh between 4 and 11 pounds. Some may be smaller or bigger than usual, though.
Personality
Many people who like Chions say that their personalities are “plucky.” They have a Napoleon complex and think they are much bigger than they are, even though they are a small breed and are happy to sleep on your lap. Since both the Chihuahua and the Papillon were made to be companion animals, Chions are some of the most loyal puppies you can get.
They can get very attached to their people, so if they think someone else is trying to steal their attention, they may act a little possessive. These little dogs enjoy barking or being “yappy.” If you want a watchdog that will let you know when someone comes to your door, the Chion is the best choice. The best way to stop these dogs from barking is to train them as soon as possible.
Even though Chions tend to be stubborn and hard to housebreak, they will go to any lengths to please their owners. Since cions need a lot of care, they might be best for a single person or a small family.
Health
The Chion is prone to some of the same health problems as the Chihuahua and Papillon mixes. Even though most are in good health, a few may be more likely to get sick, so it’s important to give them the care they need and take them to the vet regularly. Chions are more likely than other people to have the following health problems:
Trachea falling apart. Pain in the cornea. Hypoglycaemia. Knee luxation. Dental problems.
Care As with any dog, you should keep taking your Chion to the vet for regular checkups so that any health problems can be caught early. Your vet can help you set up a routine of care for your dog that will keep it healthy. Chino is like a lot of small dogs in that he is very active and tends to put on weight.
Make sure your dog gets at least one 30- to 60-minute walk and some active playtime and shorter walks every day. Check their ears every day for dirt and bugs, and clean them as your vet tells you to. Trim your dog’s nails about once or twice a month, before they get too long. It shouldn’t be making noises when it falls.
Your groomer can help you with this. The most important thing you can do for your Chion is to take care of their teeth. Since dental problems are more common in small breeds, you should brush their teeth every day. Your vet can tell you how to brush your dog’s teeth in the right way.
Feeding
An ideal Chion diet should be made for a small breed with a lot of energy. They tend to gain weight if you feed them too much, so make sure to feed them on a regular schedule and don’t leave food out all day. Also, watch how many treats they get. Like all dogs, the Chion’s nutritional needs will change as it grows from a puppy to an adult, and they will continue to change as it ages.
There are too many differences between dogs, like weight, energy level, and health, to make a specific recommendation. Instead, you should talk to your vet about what to feed your Chion.
Design and Care of Coats
The coats and colours of chions often look like a mix of their papillon and chihuahua parents. The main colours of cions are white, fawn, cream, golden-dark brown, and black. Sometimes their coats are all one colour, and sometimes they have more than one. They usually have smooth, short to medium-length coats, and their ears are in the shape of a butterfly.
There are also chion leaves with longer coatings, but they may not be as good for people with allergies. Luckily, both coats are easy to take care of. A once-a-week brushing should be enough. Because their coats are short, chins don’t do well in cold weather. In the winter, your dog will probably need a coat, and in the summer, when they have less fur to protect them, you might need to put dog sunscreen on their ears, noses, and other sensitive areas.
Children and animals
Small dogs like the Chion are easy for kids to hurt when they want to play with them. Most of the time, it likes to be with adults or older kids who know how to play gently. Still, the Chion can be a great playmate for kids who know how to approach and play with a small dog from a young age. It can get along with other pets in the house as long as they are introduced to each other slowly and calmly.
Getting to know people early will make a transaction go more smoothly. Chion, on the other hand, would rather be the only animal in the house and be king or queen of the castle. The main things that make a difference are training, socialisation, and luck, since many Chongs get along well with other dogs and cats.
Rescue Teams
Because it’s a mixed breed, it might be hard to find a rescue that specialises in their breed. But because they often take care of animals of mixed breeds, you might want to try a Chihuahua or Papillon rescue instead.

An ideal Chion diet should be made for a small breed that has a lot of energy. There are too many differences between dogs, such as weight, energy level, and health, to make a specific recommendation. Instead, you should talk to your vet about what to feed your Chion.
Making a coat and taking care of it
Chion coats often look like a mix of their Papillon and Chihuahua parents’ coats and colours. Most chion colours are white, fawn, cream, golden-dark brown, or black. Sometimes their coats are all one colour, and sometimes they have many. They usually have smooth, short to medium-length coats, and their ears are shaped like butterflies.
There are also chion leaves with longer coatings, but they might not be as good for people with allergies. Both coats are easy to care for, which is good. It should be enough to brush once a week. Your dog will probably need a coat in the winter, and in the summer, when they have less fur to protect them, you might need to put dog sunscreen on their ears, noses, and other sensitive areas.
Children and other creatures
Children can easily hurt small dogs like the Chion because they are so curious. Most of the time, it likes to be with adults or older children who know how to play gently. So, the Chion can be a great playmate for kids who know how to approach and play with a small dog from a young age. It can get along with other animals in the house if they are slowly and calmly introduced to each other.
Getting to know people early on will make a transaction go more smoothly. Chion, on the other hand, would rather be the only animal in the house and be the king or queen of the castle. Training, socialisation, and luck are the most important things, because many Chongs get along fine with other dogs and cats.
Rescue Teams
Because it is a mixed breed, it might be hard to find a rescue that specialises in its breed. But because they often take care of mixed-breed animals as well, you might want to try a rescue for Chihuahuas or Papillons.

Wait, Husky is a slur? How so?
Genuine question, as I know nothing about which dog breeds are named slurs. Also what alternative names can we call those dogs that name slurs for names?
[Wikipedia Etymology section from the Husky Wikipedia page above. Description of the word includes racial slurs and says: “the word husky originated from the word referring to aboriginal Arctic people, in general, ‘Eskimo,’...known as ‘huskies’, a contraction of ‘Huskimos’, the pronunciation given to the word ‘Eskimos’ by the English sailors trading vessels”.]
With indigenous dogs that still exist within their native range and kept by the people that originally made them best practice is to call the dog what the indigenous population calls the dog. For example: Inuit Qimmiq or just Qimmiq instead of Canadian Eskimo Dog.
In some instances the breeds ascribed racial slurs have nothing to do with the population the slur is aimed at, like the American Eskimo Dog which actually originated in Germany so for me that’s a fairly easy fix to American Spitz Dog or German-American Spitz etc. This is another huge issue with modern dog breeds within this issue: racial slurs or indigenous histories/names assigned to breeds that have nothing to do with said native peoples or their history as a way of making the dog ‘exotic’. Think the ‘Northern Inuit Dog’, the American Eskimo Dog example I used previously or even the Alaskan Malamute which is actually not from Alaska at all.
But many breeds where these slurs exist are not exactly the same as those indigenous breeds and in many cases are not even recognizable when compared to the native dogs, but have ROOTS as native dogs (Samoyed, Siberian Husky etc). This is where things get complicated. They have been taken from the native people that made them and pushed in a very specific, non-indigenous direction, ascribed a breed standard that has little to do with a deep understanding of why these dogs were used historically, and bred with closed stud books and restrictions that would not exist in the native population. So I’m not exactly sure what to do in this instance.
I am merely an advocate for removing racial slurs from breed names and I am non-indigenous so I don’t really want to speak in a definitive way, merely bring awareness to this issue. The purebred dog world is already very white and racist, but many people aren’t even aware that these issues with Indigenous dog names exist.

Team Bucciarati pet headcanons:
(long post under the cut)
Giorno Giovanna:
He would definitely have pet frogs and in his big office, probably a really big terrarium
I think he'd have probably a few frogs but I can see him having an Asian painted frog and a reticulated glass frog
He would be the actual best frog dad and I can see him letting them just chill on his shoulder during meetings
Would probably get random frogs off the street too so his frogs don't get lonely
He'd name them slightly goofy names or let one of the gang name them
When Giorno gets overwhelmed from work, he'll just put some gloves on and hold the frogs for a bit
He has a lot of experience caring for them, because as soon as he realized he could have a pet, he went into research overdrive
Gio is also in change of taking care of Coco Jumbo, and dotes on the turtle a lot! At this point his entire room is nearly a terrarium.
Pannacotta Fugo:
Pannacotta really admires ferrets because of how smart and mischievous they are but didn't feel like he could take care of one because of how he struggles to control his emotions
He brought it up offhand after Narancia got his gerbils and Narancia had no hesitation to help Pannacotta care for a ferret in exchange for help with schoolwork
They went to a lot of pet stores until they found a rescue with a few ferrets left
The second he laid eyes on this adorable white ferret who was napping, Pannacotta's mind was set, this was the pet for him
The ferret immediately snuggled right up to him when he held it
The whole way home (Giorno drove), he was brainstorming names
The first night, he woke up panicked as Purple Haze was out and just watching the ferret, but watching the ferret run around the large enclosure that the gang worked together to get built
PH seemed oddly peaceful but that didn't help Pannacotta feel less worried that it was out, but as the night went on, he found that spending time and playing with the ferret made him feel more comfortable around it in general
Narancia Ghirga:
Definitely a gerbil and probably begged Bruno to take him to a pet store to get one which then turned into two because he couldn't resist the two he found
He would probably keep one or both in his pockets around the house and sneak them little scraps of Bruno's cooking at the dinner table
His favorite thing is seeing them use the toys he got for them or when they sleep on top of each other
Would probably name them adjectives, like Stuzzichine or Coccolone and give them semi ridiculous nicknames
Would keep them on his lap when the gang has a movie night and loves when they fall asleep on him
Trish Una:
Trish really likes lovebirds and has an affinity for birds which she found out when Giorno made her a bird out of paperwork for her birthday
She had to go and get another one so they could play with each other. The trip to the rescue had involved the entire family since no one wanted to turn her down when she looked that excited.
Trish took a while picking one out, as she needed to make sure that they would get along with the bird at home, but she settled on a very cheerful peach-faced lovebird
The entire ride home, the bird was leaning into her head pets and being generally noisy
Trish likes to sing or hum and the birds will chirp along with her
When she works on schoolwork, the birds will perch on her shoulder often times to try and get her attention, which makes schoolwork take a long time. She absolutely loves doting on them
Trish takes the absolute best care of them and gets them the finest things!
Guido Mista:
Dog has 3 legs bc luck
Guido adopted a stray Doberman Pinscher on his way back from a solo mission without telling anyone, other than Giorno who was about to head out when Guido was sneaking into the base
Obviously he couldn't just leave the poor thing there when it was looking at him with those eyes, and he was fairly certain that the actual zoo they had in their base would not be helped by a big dog, but he wasn't going to let Vivian ( he had already named her after the main character of his favorite movie) limp around with no home
Giorno helped smuggle her in since barely anyone else was home, and sent Narancia off to get some dog supplies while he helped Guido get Vivian settled
They helped get her all clean, which was difficult with her tail wagging at a rapid pace, and water was all over the bathroom by the time that they were done
The two of them got the dog all comfy on Mista's (very ugly and questionably patterned) bedspread and she snuggled right up to Guido the second he laid down
The Sex Pistols love the dog too, and find themselves resting on her when she sleeps since Vivian is so warm and riding on her back when she's being played with
Guido is already used to giving the Pistols food, but now he also has a dog (although he doesn't give her a ton of human food) to feed
It doesn't take too long for the rest of the group to realize there is a big dog, especially when Guido trains Vivian a lot during the day or is outside playing with her
Giorno has offered multiple times to make a leg for her missing leg, but Mista insists she's fine without one (and he won't admit that the tetraphobia makes it hard to think about her having 4 legs instead of her 3)
Vivian gets along well with the rest of the pets, thanks to a lot of training and steady introductions to everyone else
Bruno Bucciarati:
He and Leone have had cats for years, although he's constantly the instigating force to bring new animals in (including all the kids pets), he has a massive soft spot for strays
He's the very best cat dad and has blankets quite literally everywhere possible to give the cats as many options to lay and built cat ledges for their windows so the cats can bask in the sun
Has a lint roller in the car because the cats love, love, love to lay on his clothes when he sets them out for a shower. He learned his lesson with his lingerie and does not have that set out after one of the cats clawed into it and destroyed it
Bruno can and will walk the cats if the weather is permitting
He just started bringing the strays home one day, and Leone didn't notice until the 2nd cat started clawing up his pants while he was wearing them
Bruno, in contrast to Leone's bad names, gives the cats some extremely cheesy nicknames and has no shame using them in public
One of the strays that they brought in initially was a very young kitten, and he stayed up all night (ignoring the meeting/job he had the next day) to care for it and make sure it was alright
He SPOILS these cats rotten and they have multiple cat towers around their room because of that
The cats also have customized collars and they are all color coordinated
Bruno really relies on the cats if the memories of somehow surviving the fight become too strong, as the cats can really sense when he's stressed and huddle around him
The cats really like to bat at his zippers, so he makes sure to change out of his suit when he knows he'll be home for the rest of the night
Leone Abbacchio:
So. Many. Cats.
As much as Leone gripes about the fur on his clothes, he loves when the cats come in and keep him company when he's winding down for the day with a good book
He swears he doesn't mean to keep adopting cats but they tend to show up at the base or Bruno sneaks another one home
He has a few blankets piled up under the windowsills so the cats can lay there, but often finds them all on his bed or trailing behind him
He tends to feed strays when they come but tries to not get attached
Has the actual worst names for them and refuses to change even when the rest of the family judges him for it
He often wakes up surrounded by cats or having one lay on his face
Leone and Bruno have had cats for years so are practiced cat dads by now
The kids often will just come and grab a cat if they need a stress reliever
Leone will not admit it but he wakes up early to feed the cats wet food and tries to be stealthy about it
As for cat breeds, most of theirs aren't purebred, but their cats that they know for sure are breeds are semi close to being a Bengal and a Cornish Rex
He keeps toys for them in his bedside table to make sure they don't wake him or Bruno up in the middle of the night with wanting to play (they do anyways)
If he's sitting anywhere, there's a very high chance there's a cat on his lap or laying on his chest if he's reclining
All of the cats are incredibly attached to him and when he's on a mission, they'll wait in a group at the front door until he returns

I wrote down my Hybrid AU Garbage
yeah I know it’s cringe lmao, I do what I want
you can request Hybrid AU content in the future if you want uwu
The Hybrid AU Universe:
Dog or cat hybrids are basically dogboys or catboys. Bird hybrids have wings and a tail, and sometimes feathers in their hair.
There are a couple work laws for hybrids, because sometimes they need additional training for jobs (just for stuff like keeping tails out of machinery and other safety precautions, how to use their animal senses to their advantage in the job, simple stuff like that).
Hybrid!Scout:
Mutt. He knows theres some Greyhound and a smidgen of Pitbull in him, but he doesn’t really know what else.
Light brown fur that matches his hair.
Raised very similarly to how normal Scout was raised, but was probably raised around lots of other hybrids (possibly a home for families) and rarely got enough to eat. He was caught several times stealing food all over Boston proper.
He claims he doesn’t give in to those instinct dog behaviors, but like four times a week he gets zoomies and runs all over the place like a maniac.
Hybrid!Soldier:
Pitbull mix, mostly American Bully.
Blondish/brownish fur that matches his hair.
Born and raised for illegal fighting. He, along with many other hybrids, were rescued when he was a young adult. He had lots of anxiety and fear-based aggression issues, but was taught to deal with them and began to recover once he was adopted.
He only really give in to instinctual behaviors when stressed or alone.
Hybrid!Pyro:
Breed unknown, but they are a dog and probably a Pomeranian.
Black fur.
Nobody knows exactly where Pyro came from, but they exhibit a lot of behaviors typical of hybrids that were abused or neglected while growing up. They refuse to talk to anyone about where they came from.
They honestly don’t give a shit about embarrassing themself and shamelessly give in to their dog instinct and do all sorts of stereotypical dog stuff.
Hybrid!Demo:
Purebred Smooth Collie; his bougie ass parents were pretty proud that the family’s purebred so he’s kinda proud of it too
Black fur, but tip of his tail is white, funnily enough
He grew up in a hybrid shelter and going to different families for a long time, but eventually his parents took him back. That’s all that really changes for Demo’s story.
He doesn’t really do much dog stuff other than crave pets and snuggles. From time to time he’ll boof on accident and gets embarrassed about it.
Hybrid!Heavy:
Siberian Mountain Cat
White and brown/grey fur
He and his family have always been independent and without owners after they left the gulag. Like canon Heavy, they spent most of their lives out in the wilderness alone.
He claims he doesn’t give in to his cat instincts, but he loves sitting or sleeping in the sun, and does use his senses in the field.
Hybrid!Engie:
Leaf-Cutter Bee
Only physical difference is wings. He can’t fly very well, though, since he doesn’t do it often/doesn’t need to fly.
Engie’s story is almost identical to that of canon Engie. The only difference is that he had trouble getting into university, as the only hybrid that had even been admitted to an American university at the time was his father.
Hybrid!Medic:
Domesticated Barbary Dove (Release Dove)
Pure white feathers, none in his hair.
His parents only partnered because purebred bird hybrids are kinda a status symbol. He found a fascination in hybrid anatomy and came to Mann Co. after studying it on his own for most of his life.
Indulges in a few bird instincts in private, if anyone found out he did he’d be so humiliated.
Hybrid!Sniper:
Doesn’t know what breed he is, he knows he’s a mutt though (he’s actually not, he’s a purebred Huntaway)
Brown ears that match his hair, black to brown tail.
His story is basically the same, except he knew he was adopted from the beginning, since the Mundies weren’t hybrids like him.
He doesn’t indulge in any dog instincts usually, but if he has an S/O, he has nasty separation anxiety and destroys stuff while they’re gone.
Hybrid!Spy:
He’s embarrassed to say it, but he’s a French Bulldog
Light brown fur that matches his hair, no tail (typical of nubtail breed hybrids).
Sold to and raised by a wealthy family, but eventually was kicked out. He was picked up by a crime group and turned into an assassin. He later left them and was an independent assassin, and later came to the US. There, he met a charming young hybrid, and the rest is history.
His only real dog trait is that he can be needy to an S/O. Also, he can do The Frenchie Scream.

Fantasy!Au, Supernatural!Au
Warnings: Violence, Blood, Explicit Content, Graphic Sex, Unprotected Sex, Breeding Kink, Virginity Loss, Fighting.
Word Count: 13.3k
(All of this series links up. The timeline of the story runs in the order of the master list from top to bottom, Mark - Jisung. Each members part can be read as a stand-alone, but I would recommended reading all the parts in order so the story adds up.)
Charia Kingdom - A place that has equal amounts of sunshine and rain, hot and cold, rich and poor, and, humans and creatures that couldn’t be identified as that of human status. Ruled by the Lee family with a king whose cutthroat and unforgiving nature is feared by many. The poor not cared for by people who have everything, where disease takes the lives of those unfortunate enough to not have the funds to purchase medicine. A place where humans live among creatures many would find terrifying. It’s no secret that Vampires, Werewolves, Wizards, etc live amongst them like normal people. Unless you murder someone, you’re considered normal. Everyone lives their own lives, whether it be a happy life, or a sorrowful life…
Being the crown prince of Charia Kingdom was never something that worried Jeno. He was raised by his mother to smile when talked to, and to have a kind heart so that he would rule the kingdom differently to how his father had. At 16, he’s unexpectedly hit by a powerful curse after hearing a ruckus going on in the echoing halls of the castle. It flips his life around, his new status as a werewolf being a challenge he hates with all his heart. It turned the kingdoms sweetheart into an angry, brooding boy. Now 19, Jeno has learned how to control when he phases with the help of the remedies Mark brews for him. The only thing he can’t control is bursting into a gigantic wolf every time a negative emotion takes over his mind. No one apart from the workers of the castle know that he’s a wolf, it being kept a secret from the public. He runs in the forest in his wolf form calm him down, until he comes face to face with a rogue wolf who threatens his life with her piercing glare. After imprinting on each other, Jeno has to learn how to balance his new love, his duties as prince, his burning rage, and a secret that is revealed to him that changes his life once again.
“I’m your brother…” Renjun’s words had Jeno’s eyebrows furrowing, a mix of confusion and betrayal curdling in Jeno’s stomach. He couldn’t understand why Renjun was comparing himself to a brother since he was the one who had cursed him. Friends close enough to be labelled as brother’s don’t do that to each other. He’d clearly misunderstood Renjun’s words.
“No you’re not. We used to be like brothers, but not anymore. You ruined my life. So don’t use how close we used to be as a way of trying to get out of this because I want to hurt you so ba-” Jeno growled out but was interrupted by Renjun.
“No! Jeno you don’t understand!” He gripped at his shaggy hair in frustration, his eyes squeezing shut as he let out a long sigh. “We have the same father! We are brothers by blood! That’s why your father killed my mother because I found out about his big secret. I confronted him, and he killed her. I was on my way to murder him when you got in my way, that’s why you ended up the way you are now.” Jeno could feel the heat inside of him rising as Renjun, his apparent brother, talked. He didn’t know whether to believe him or not. But why would he lie? “I’m sorry Jeno…I never meant to do this to you.” Renjun’s voice turned soft in his sincerity, the girl behind him approaching him and taking his hand into her own. Jeno frowned as he watched them, jealous that Renjun was living a normal life despite what he did to Jeno’s. Jeno didn’t say anything, instead tried to focus on his breathing as it spiked, his chest rising and falling fast and his shoulders tensing up as he felt the wolf inside of him ready to take over. It felt like he needed to throw up, his knees shaking and his fingers trembling as the warmth spread from his stomach. The warmth turned into a gruelling pain that he had never gotten used to, it still hurt just as much as it had the first time that his body had ripped into a gigantic wolf.
“Renjun!” The girl beside him squealed, pulling Renjun back in fright as she saw how Jeno’s eyes turned from a deep brown to a glowing amber, identical to the ones she’d seen through the cabin just before Jeno had made his entrance. Watching Jeno change into a wolf made Renjun wince, a horrible feeling flooding his gut as he knew how this was his fault. One second Jeno was stood on two feet, the next he was stood on four. The changing process always made his mind go hazy as his instincts turned from human to wolf, but his mind remained the same. He still had the same thoughts and opinions, and he remembered who he was. He was just more likely to fight and hurt someone with his wolf instinct. He briefly thought back to the way that Mark’s girlfriend had looked at him with the same fear in her eyes that Jeno could see in Renjun’s girlfriend and it made him sick that he had that impact on people he didn’t want to harm.
“Jeno, I beg you…you can hurt me but please don’t touch her.” Renjun’s voice wavered as he held his hands up in surrender. Jeno squeezed his eyes shut and let out a low growl, thoughts flying around his head but not even one of those thoughts were to harm the woman stood beside his brother. It hurt Jeno that everyone immediately thought he was going to intentionally harm them when he turned into a wolf involuntarily because of his emotions. It caused his heart to ache. He had never been an aggressive person until he had to live with the cards he’d been dealt. Deep down he was still the soft, kind, warm-hearted Prince his mother had raised him to be. He just found it hard to overcome the constant burn of angst and anger he felt towards his condition and lack of normality on his life. It led him to feel the heavy cloud of depression over his head that he struggled to cope with, especially when everyone he knew was so cautious around him now. His paw raised to step towards the pair, and as he did, a scuffle of leaves and snapping twigs caused his ears to perk up. But before he could look towards the sound, a wolf skidded to a stop on the mud in front of him, putting herself between him and the couple. Her teeth bared and her emerald eyes glowed as they narrowed at him. He could tell she was a female purely from her scent, which was a lot sweeter than any of the male wolves he’d come across.
“Snowy!” Renjun’s eyes widened as he addressed the wolf. Jeno was slightly confused, as he hadn’t smelt any nearby wolves, but he pinned it down to him before distracted by his own head to even notice his senses. The wolf in front of him was considerably smaller than his large frame, her fur as white as snow and he could see why they called her Snowy. She smelt different to all the other wolves that Jeno had encountered before, her scent not making his nose crinkle in disgust from the earthy scent he usually smelt around wolves. Not that he’d met many other wolves, and when he did, they’d simply ignore him in passing and respect each other’s boundaries. But she smelt like the sweet flowers he’d only ever smelt inside of the castles garden because they didn’t grow in the wild, his nose raising slightly in the air as he sniffed to smell the scent deeper. He smelt the undertone of what he remembered to be rain when it hit trees. The fresh scent sitting happily against his nose and making his head tilt in confusion.
You stared at Jeno with narrowed eyes, keeping your teeth bared at him to show him that you wouldn’t allow him to get close to the only human’s you could trust. You kept a low growl vibrating from your throat, but it didn’t seem to be affecting him as he continued to stare at you non-threateningly for a few minutes. You’d been watching the interaction from the safety of the brush, keeping low so that your appearance would come as a surprise to him. You saw how he turned into a wolf, and his scent surprisingly stayed identical to the warm smell of something you couldn’t quite identify instead of the smell of dirt and wet dog that you usually smelt around male wolves. You stayed low as you growled at him, ready to pounce at him at any moment to protect Renjun and his love who you still didn’t know the name of, despite how much smaller than him you were.
Jeno snapped out of his reverie, feeling a strange pull to you but not knowing what it meant, so he lowered himself, copying your stance and baring his teeth at you too. When you didn’t back off despite smelling the pheromones he was now emitting as he tried to assert his dominance in being a large male over you, he barked, trying to make you feel threatened. Your heart was racing, not wanting to act on the pull you felt. It was as if gravity was trying to push you to him, but you didn’t want to admit the inkling you had in your brain as to what it could be. You weren’t scared of him, you’d fought plenty of other wolves in your lifetime, ones who were purebred wolf and others who were a human and wolf mix like yourself and the wolf stood in front of you.
“Snowy don’t!” Renjun shouted as you lunged at the wolf you remembered as Jeno, as you’d heard Renjun call him. Your teeth latched onto his neck, not penetrating the skin but gripping onto him as you stayed latching onto him. You weren’t big enough to knock his heavy frame over, but you used all your strength in fighting him. He thrashed around, trying to rid his body of you without harming you. He didn’t want to fight, but it was in his natural instincts to protect himself. So you found yourself tumbling with him in a mix of white and black fur into the dense trees. He threw you off of him, but that didn’t stop you. Your claws dug into the earth as you jumped at him again, he jumped at you at the same time and you felt your body hit a tree trunk hard from how you ricocheted off his strong body. He pinned you down to the floor, his mouth caging your neck to the floor as he tried to control you in his act of self-defence. You stopped moving, knowing you had been defeated because of the size difference, waiting until he pulled away and backed off, his body still in a defensive stance, his claws making marks in the soil from how hard he was gripping the floor as he stared at you.
You stayed laying on the floor as you caught your breath. Jeno felt the need to rub his head against you and help you up, but he didn’t know you, and he most definitely wasn’t going to attempt to do that after you attacked him. You wanted nothing more than for him to nuzzle your face and lick at all the cuts that stained your white fur a royal red, but you also wanted him to stay away from you. The conflicted feelings you both felt dawned on you both at the same time.
You’d imprinted on each other.
You felt sick to your stomach as the fact you’d imprinted on someone and knew that your wolf would be restless forever until you both caved to the feelings and joined your souls in the way they wanted to merge. Jeno only knew of imprinting from books he’d read about werewolves, but he could easily diagnose it from the symptoms matching everything he remembered from the books. He never thought he’d feel the feelings he was feeling in that moment as he stared at your limp body. He was overjoyed, but worried. You knew one day you would find your ‘soulmate’, but you never expected it to be so soon, and certainly not in this kind of circumstance. You could remember the day that your brother imprinted on a human and left you to live alone in the woods when you were sixteen, opting to live in his human form to be with his love. You’d been alone since then, learning how to take care of yourself and struggling to resent your brother because you knew he couldn’t fight the burning desire his instincts thrust upon him.
You didn’t know what to do, so you jumped up. Standing on shaky legs for a moment before bolting off between the trees as fast as your four legs could carry you. You didn’t have to turn around to know that Jeno was hot on your heels. You could hear his heavy paws against the earth and the way he panted as he tried to keep up with your nimble body. He was catching up with you, his long legs giving him the advantage. But you knew the woods like the back of your hand, so you found it easy to dodge between trees and take sharp turns. Soon losing him amongst the trees, but you that didn’t stop you from running. You ran until you reached the cave that you used as your den, huddling against the wall, and staying in your wolf form in case he followed your scent and suddenly popped up out of nowhere.
Jeno mentally beat himself up at how easily you had escaped him. His mind was clouded over from the realisation at what had just happened. He decided to go back to the castle instead of going back to Renjun. He could deal with that another day now that he knew where Renjun was residing. He dragged his feet, sulking as he walked through the forest. He used the cover of the trees to make his way home, letting out a short howl that Jisung knew meant he was back home and needed some clothes before he could show himself. The younger boy opened the gate and rushed into the trees to Jeno, giving him some loose clothes so he could hide his modesty as he entered the castle.
Jeno went to sleep that night, knowing his life had just drastically changed once more.
---
The forest felt different to Jeno as he desperately sniffed at the floor, trying hard to pick up your scent that you’d left behind the day prior. In his mouth he held a bag of clothes, two pairs of clothes just in case he managed to find you, so that your first encounter with him as a human wouldn’t have to be naked. He’d been searching for hours, going in circles in his desperation to try and find you. Eventually he caught scent of what he remembered you to smell like, his ears pricking up and his nose twitching at the euphoria your scent had on him. He stood still for a moment, basking in the feeling that had overcome him, before his legs started moving, his body subconsciously following the scent as it became stronger.
The scent took him to a stream, the shallow water hitting the rocks on the bed of the meandering water and making a comforting sound. He crept up quietly, making sure his paws hardly touched the floor so that his footsteps remained silent. He could see your white fur through the trees, your feet submerged in the flowing water and your head bowed, staring at your own reflection. He dropped the bag, changing to his human form and hurrying to put on his loose white shirt and baggy tan pants. He took a deep breath in anticipation, slowly appearing from the trees and holding his hands up in surrender. He cleared his throat to gain your attention, and your head flicked up immediately. You backed off, crossing to the other side of the stream and lowering your body to the ground in caution. You had only seen his face from the side, and even then, you didn’t see it very clearly. So his beautifully handsome face was enough to take your breath away. He had a strong jawline, kissable pouty lips, and wide eyes that were staring at you with a soft look.
“I don’t want to hurt you.” His voice was deep, and you were trying so desperately to ignore the invisible rope that felt like it was tugging you towards him by your heart. “I think we got off to a bad start, my name is Jeno…” His eyes stayed on you as you visibly relaxed but didn’t make any effort to approach him. He gulped as he thought about his next words. “Are you like me? Or do you only have your wolf form?” He desperately wanted you to tell him that you were like him. If you weren’t and only had your wolf form, then he knew that his wolf would never be fully satisfied unless he was with you all the time, which would mean living as a wolf permanently, something he didn’t want to do, nor could do as he still had the responsibility of being a prince sitting on his shoulders. When you turned away from him and walked between the trees, he felt his heart sink and his shoulders drop in disappointment. But when he saw a small hand wrap around a tree trunk and a pair of glowing emerald green eyes, the same as your wolf, he felt his heart flutter. The only way you could tell if a person was born with the ability to turn into a wolf was if their eyes stayed the same colour in human form as they were in wolf form. If they were born as a normal human but had been cursed, their eyes would return to normal colour in their human form. “Hey…” He smiled, but as he took a step forward you hid behind the tree again. “I won’t hurt you; I promise…take this.” He crossed the stream, his feet getting wet, but he didn’t care. He then balled up the cotton dress in his hands and threw it, so that it landed by your feet. You pulled it over your head and let the white material fall down to your knees. You stepped out from behind the tree, finally showing Jeno all of yourself now that you weren’t naked.
After taking your first step, you felt your knees buckle, your hands about to come in contact with the grass but Jeno had stepped forward and caught you just in time. “Are you okay?” He sounded worried, his voice soft and his grip on your hips firm. You looked up at him with wide eyes, nodding to him when you opened your mouth, but no noise came out. He looked into your eyes, his heart pounding so hard he could hear it in his ears and his mouth going dry. His touch felt warm and you felt the need to curl up in his hold and never let go. “I heard them call you Snowy, is that your name?” You shook your head, clearing your throat and opening your mouth once more.
“My name is (Y/N).” Your voice was as pure as freshly laid snow, it sending a ripple up Jeno’s spine and he smiled widely. If he didn’t have wolf senses, then he wouldn’t have heard you, your voice so quiet that it couldn’t even be classed as a whisper. You hadn’t been in your human form in over a year, so your human body felt stiff and weak. Your voice not warmed up and your limbs shaky.
“Beautiful…” He murmured subconsciously and then felt his cheeks heating up at his confession. “So, I’m assuming you’ve realised that we’ve imprinted on each other…” You nodded at his statement, his hands still gripping at your hips more softly, feeling an odd satisfaction that he’d never felt before as he held you. His body felt strong, your hands placed timidly on his broad shoulders and you stared at his lips as he talked.
“Mhm.” You made a quiet noise and nodded your head.
“Come back to the castle with me.” He phrased it as a command, not a question. You tilted your head in confusion and raised an eyebrow.
“Castle?” Your voice was getting louder as you spoke, it sounding almost normal but still as gentle as a cloud.
“I’m the Prince of this Kingdom, I live in the castle, and I want you to come back with me. We can get to know each other, because either way neither of us will be happy if we’re apart.” You pulled away from him after he finished speaking. It made his stomach sink and he reached out to you, but you took another step back. You furrowed your eyebrows and shook your head. You didn’t want to leave the forest; it was were you grew up and all you knew. Of course you’d spent time with humans in the town, but you hadn’t been there for long periods of time, always ending up in the forest with your family where you preferred. You were also shocked that he was a Prince. Of all the people you could have imprinted on, you thought it was typical that you imprinted on someone who would have a difficult life.
“I don’t want to leave the forest…” You shook your head, watching as his face darkened, his eyebrows knitting together and mouth parting almost as if in disgust. It was clear to you that he was used to getting his own way as soon as he demanded it.
“Why? You could live a life of luxury and never have to worry about anything again!” His voice was louder, and it had an aggressive undertone to it as he got irritated at your refusal. You took another step back, your own face hardening as you tried to show that he didn’t scare you.
“I don’t want that. I don’t even know you. Back off.” Your eyes started to glow, as did Jeno’s. His soft brown eyes turning amber as his emotions got to him. He was upset that you didn’t comply to his wants. His sadness always turning into anger as he had no control of his emotions.
“We’re meant to be!” He growled, feeling his hands start to shake and his shoulders tensing up.
“Go away!” You shouted at him, turning away and about to start running off, but your legs couldn’t handle it and you fell to the floor, your body thudding against the grass. Jeno gasped, his eyes dimming back to brown and all of his anger flooding off of him like he’d been hit by a wave of freezing cold water.
“(Y/N)!” He rushed to you, scooping you up into his arms and holding you to him. You felt a burst of tingles inside of your stomach, his scent flooding your senses and making your pupils dilate. You gripped onto him and nuzzled your head into the crook of his neck like you’d been wanting to since you’d met him the day before. You took in a deep breath, your nose trailing against his skin and you felt the overwhelming urge to sink your teeth into his neck, marking him as yours. All of your previous anger and resistance turning into lust and want. It was what your wolf and instincts wanted, and you couldn’t control it.
“Jeno.” You moaned, licking a stripe up his neck, and nipping at his warm skin. He moaned lowly, dropping down to his knees and laying you on the floor in front of him. His eyes were nearly black from how dilated his pupils had gone, staring down at you like you were a meal he was about to devour. He didn’t know how to control himself, never having felt the need to claim someone as his own. He felt his cock harden the second you licked his neck, then the smell of your arousal hit his nose, he got stiffer, grinding his crotch against your own. “Take me.” You whimpered, tugging the cotton dress up so that your lower half was completely bare in front of him. You knew about how feral wolves could be once they found their mate, but you’d never expected the pull you felt towards him to be as great as what it was. You wanted nothing more than for him to bury himself inside of you and claim you as his. On the other hand, you didn’t want him to touch you because then you’d not be able to leave him, and you’d end up going with him to the castle, which you didn’t want to do. But your wolf senses were beating your human senses. Jeno stared down at your dripping core, his mouth watering at the sight and he felt less human than he’d ever felt before, wanting to completely destroy you but knowing he shouldn’t because he was raised to respect women.
The two of you completely disregarded your hesitance, looking into each other’s eyes as they almost glowed with desire and want. Jeno pushed down his baggy pants, his cock harder than he’d ever witnessed it to be. It was a violent red and looked like it was going to explode with cum at any second. You bit your bottom lip so hard that you got the bitter metallic taste of blood on your tongue as you watched him take his cock in his hand. It looked so big that you wanted to drag your tongue over it and taste him, but you couldn’t push the desire away to have him inside of you, so that would have to wait. Jeno’s human side couldn’t believe how fast this was happening. He’s supposed to be the sophisticated, eloquent Prince of the Kingdom who’s supposed to marry a Princess and rule the Kingdom one day. But instead he’s about to lose his virginity on the dirty floor of the forest to a girl he’s known a day who lives a rogue life.
He pushed his cock into you once the shiver up his spine caused his body to move without his brain working. You let out a loud moan that sounded almost like a howl, your fingers gripping at the ground, your nails digging into the dirt as your back arched up into Jeno’s touch. Jeno’s jaw dropped open, his breath being ripped from his lungs as he gripped your hips tightly. You looked up at Jeno, noticing his eyes were almost black, the lust swimming around behind his dark irises as he started to thrust his cock into you at an almost inhuman speed. You’d never had sex before, but your body was made to take your mates length and your core stretched perfectly to his size. You whimpered as he lowered his body over the top of your own, his lips finding purchase on your neck. You wound your arms around his back, digging your nails into his damp skin and dragging them down, leaving bright red trails behind. He bit your neck suddenly, a scream leaving your lips as you started to roll your hips up into his thrusts. His teeth broke your skin, and he left his mark on your skin, claiming you as his own. You felt like if he pulled away from you at all, you’d die from loneliness. His lips pressed rough kisses to the mark he’d left, tracing his tongue over the mark to heal it.
A rustling coming from between the trees behind your head caused Jeno to stop. He looked up, sniffing at the air, and letting out a low growl, it rumbling from his throat as his eyes scanned the trees. The sound stopped, then sounded again further away as if something was retreating after hearing Jeno’s warning. His eyes quickly flicked to you instead and he leaned in, capturing your lips with his own, pushing his tongue into your mouth and exploring it as his hips started to move again. Your silky walls sucked his cock in, squeezing over him as it felt like he was made for you, it not feeling painful despite it being your first time. He moaned into your mouth, his hips slamming into yours harder as you felt like the universe was inside of you and it was about to explode, a completely unfamiliar feeling washing over you as your orgasm washed through you like a red hot fire. You clung onto Jeno, not wanting to let go of him as hot ropes of cum shot from his cock inside of you, coating your walls as his head fell to the crook of neck. He relaxed on top of you, the bliss of his orgasm and being in your arms was making him feel lightheaded. You tried to catch your breath, your chest rising and falling as you held each other in your arms. His cock softened but he left it inside of you, not being able to let go of you.
“I’ll come back with you.” You whispered against his hair, placing a kiss to your mate’s head as his grip on you tightened. The thought of him going back to his home, the castle, and leaving you behind made your heart tear at the seams. You couldn’t let go of him, and you had a feeling it was something to do with the mark he’d left on your neck.
“Thank you. You’ll be treated like a princess, I promise.” His words echoed around your head as your eyes slowly closed, exhaustion from changing into a human and being so close to your mate causing you to pass out underneath him.
---
Living in a palace felt odd. You were completely out of your comfort zone, and it had only been two days. The only thing keeping you from running back to your home in the forest was the tie you felt to Jeno. You knew your wolf would go crazy if you were to leave Jeno behind. It still felt strange living in your human form, but you knew there was no way you could be a wolf inside of the castle grounds. Jeno hadn’t left you alone, and he pretty much always had his hands on you, rubbing your skin affectionately and burying his face in your neck or hair. The night you’d gotten back to the castle, Jeno had taken you to his bedroom. You’d never seen a bedroom before, and Jeno’s was huge, the bed feeling soft against your naked back as Jeno fucked you for hours, the both of you getting a feel for each other’s bodies. You hadn’t spoken much, the majority of your relationship being your physical need for each other. All you knew was he’s the Prince of the Kingdom and first in line for the throne.
You stood in front of a full-length mirror; your hair pulled around your shoulder, so it was out of the way for Jeno to lace up your dress from behind. A maid had tried to lace up your dress, but Jeno had stared at her with eyes that could kill and hastily dismissed her when he realised he couldn’t deal with watching someone else be so close to you. You stared at the baby blue material as it brushed against the floor, the silk shining against the natural light as it flooded into the room from the large window. Jeno’s fingers nimbly laced up your dress, his eyes occasionally darting from the back of your dress to stare at your face in the mirror. He was completely in awe of your beauty, and he couldn’t help but want to drag your body over to the bed behind you both and make you so wet that he could lick up your thighs to bury his tongue in your heat like he really wanted to. His eyes started to glow amber as his lust swam through him. You could smell his arousal and cleared your throat.
“Will your parents like me?” You spoke quietly, fiddling with your hair and looking at Jeno through the mirror. Jeno snapped out of his daydream, tying the material in a bow and wrapping his arms around your waist from behind, settling his chin on your shoulder.
“My mother will…My father probably won’t, but don’t worry about it princess.” His voice was quiet like your own, and he smiled, placing a wet kiss to your cheek.
“I’m not a princess yet.” You turned you head, your lips brushing against his plush ones as he let out a gentle laugh.
“You’re my princess.”
“We’ve only known each other for a few days…” You couldn’t help the slight hesitance you felt, everything overwhelming you.
“It doesn’t matter, we were meant for each other. I am a prince, so that means you are my princess.” His words caused you to shudder, and he pressed his lips to your own. You wanted to pull away from his searing kiss, but you couldn’t find it within you to drag your lips from his. His arms tightened around your waist, his tongue pushing into your mouth as his fingers gripped at the material on your body.
“Mmm!” You moaned into his mouth but quickly pulled away. “You’ll rip it!” You pushed his hands away and stepped back, noticing his eyes were glowing amber like they did every time he got aroused. He walked back towards you with the lust swimming in his eyes, his hands reaching out for you, but you backed off. “No, we have to meet your parents!” He didn’t seem to be listening though, as he backed you up to the wall and brought your lips back to his own. His kiss was rough and had your stomach dropping at how it made you felt, his arousal sparking up your own. But someone had to take control and you had a feeling that Jeno couldn’t. “Stop.” You growled against his lips, his own breaking from yours.
“Okay.” He complied easier than you thought he would, his head nodding up and down like a submissive dog. “Let’s go.” He brushed the creases that he’d made out of your dress, laying a gentle kiss on your lips that was a complete contrast to his previous kisses. He took your hand in his and guided you through the palace, greeting random members of staff as you travelled around. He stopped in front of big, oak doors that you assumed his parents were behind. “It’s okay.” He pushed the doors open and his eyes locked immediately on his parents, trying to gauge their reaction from afar and taking a deep breath to calm his own nerves. He could feel your anxiety rolling off of you and it was making him feel sick, the negative emotion admitting off of you making him want you out of the room and to protect you from how you were feeling. You glanced at his parents, your eyes shifting from the evil stare of his father to the soft gaze of his mother. He placed his hand on your lower back and guided you further into the room, following the royal red carpet up towards the solid gold thrones his parents were perched on.
The queen was wearing a beautiful dress, it was a deep emerald green that brought out her natural beauty, her hair flowing in curls down her shoulders, with a golden crown perched on top of her head. She looked kind, but you’d learnt throughout your years that looks could be deceiving. The king on the other hand, looked at you with a stare that could kill. You couldn’t deny that he was handsome. He looked a lot like Jeno, but with signs of aging and his black hair greying underneath his crown.
“What is the meaning of this Jeno?” The king spoke before you’d even finished approaching them. You heard Jeno let out a sigh from beside you, the both of you coming to a stop at the stairs leading up to the thrones. “I do not approve of this.”
“Father please ju-”
“Is she a wolf?”
“How would you kn-”
“Is she a wolf?!” His father’s voice raised in dominance.
“She is…You don’t understand, I can’t control who I love, because of my…condition. You have no choice but to accept it. Besides, I didn’t come here for your approval, I simply came here to introduce the future princess of the kingdom to you. Charia Kingdom will be lucky to have her as a member of the royal family.” Jeno’s voice was strong through his speech to his parents, his confidence in your relationship making your heart flutter. The queen had a smile on her face, and you immediately knew that you wanted to know more about her. Your own mother hadn’t ever been maternal towards you, and as soon as you could fend for yourself, she had left you and your older brother alone in the forest. So you hoped that she could feel the void your mother left.
“Jeno, I will not allow this!” His father’s voice started to raise and his face hardened.
“You have no choice!” Jeno’s voice rose to compete with his father. You could feel the anger radiating off of Jeno and you moved your hand to grip gently at his bicep, wordlessly telling him to calm down.
“I can assure you that I do.” The king’s voice lowered dangerously, and it sent shivers down your spine, your breath catching in your throat as you thought about all of the bad things that man could potentially do to you and your mate. “Don’t make a decision you’ll regret.”
“If anything happens to me, or her, then you won’t have an heir to the throne. That’s right, you’ll let your family bloodline lose the throne. Because you already got rid of one of your sons, didn’t you?” Jeno’s lips curled into a smirk, his eyes narrowing at his father. The kings face faltered before he quickly recovered his hard look, it looking harder than ever. “That’s right, I know about what happened with Renjun. You’re the reason I have this curse, so you’re the reason I am marrying a wolf like myself. Get used to it.” He snapped, grabbing your hand and dragging you from the room with long strides, causing you to jog after him so that you could keep up.
“Jeno, calm down.” Your voice was soft, but it fell on deaf ears as Jeno took you through the palace to your shared bedroom. His hand was shaking in your grip, and you could hear his heart pounding in his chest. You smelt the odd smell of arousal, your eyes widening at how he was horny in a moment like this. “Jeno!” He pushed you into the bedroom, slamming the wooden door shut so hard that it almost came off of its hinges, the wood shaking against the frame. He forced you up against the wall, and you knew if you were average like a human, he probably would have broken your back from how hard he shoved you. You let out a whimper which fell into his mouth as his lips smashed to your own. His teeth bit at your bottom lip, tugging at it before sucking it into his mouth. His hands sat on your waist as your hands came to rest on his shoulders, feeling the tension of his anger underneath your fingertips. The kiss was filthy and left you almost dripping down your thighs, your legs almost quivering at the need to feel his cock inside of you, filling you up perfectly how he had been since you’d met.
“You’re dripping for me already aren’t you baby girl?” He growled into your mouth, his fingertips gripping at your silk dress so tightly that the material ripped underneath his hold. You felt dizzy under his hold, his ministrations causing your hormones to rage around your body like a blazing fire. The fogginess of your head meant you’d missed when he lifted your body and threw you onto the bed like a ragdoll. He stood at the end of the bed, staring down at you with glowing amber eyes, his chest rising and falling fast as he tried to catch his breath, your scent making his head stir to the point where he couldn’t even think straight. You stared at him, feeling like prey underneath his flaming eyes. Crawling up the bed on his hands and knees had your legs automatically spreading, his body caging you against the bed as his lips came in contact with your chest. He’d tore your dress from your body, but you still had on your corset and panties.
“Jeno.” You moaned, his teeth nipping at the skin of your breasts as they bulged from the tightness of the corset.
“You smell so good, turn over.” Even though he instructed you to turn over, he didn’t give you a chance to, as he flipped you over and made quick work of the silk holding your corset together. His fingers were shaking so much from his eagerness to buried inside of you that he let out a dangerous growl, forgetting about untying the rest of your corset, pushing your body into mattress and shredding the material of your panties to get access to your soaking pussy. Your face smashed into the soft pillows, your hands laying against the mattress as you pushed your ass back into Jeno’s crotch. Jeno rid himself of his clothes, throwing them to the floor as if they were nothing but cheap rags as he buried his cock inside of you fast. He was in a complete trance of sex and need. You still had your corset on, but Jeno decided it didn’t matter anymore now that he had you where he needed you.
“Jeno,” You felt like the corset was constricting your body like one of the lethal snakes you’d came in contact with many of times throughout your life in the forest. Jeno was thrusting his hips at a fast pace, his cock hitting your insides at the perfect angle and making your eyes roll into the back of your head from the euphoric feeling bursting throughout your nervous system. “take it off of me!” You still weren’t used to wearing clothes, and it was the first time you’d ever experienced something as uncomfortable as a corset. You didn’t understand why women would want to wear something so horrid just to get a specific shape to their body. Humans really did confuse you. When he made no effort to pull the corset off of you, you felt yourself start to freak out. “GET IT OFF OF ME!” You screamed, pushing back against Jeno, and letting out another moan from his cock working wonders inside of you. He stopped thrusting when the scent of fright wafted through his air and infiltrated his senses.
“Okay, calm down my love.” He pulled your body from his own, gently pushing you back to be pressed against the bed as his used his strength to rip the silk holding the corset together, his biceps bulging. He plucked the corset out from underneath your chest and tossed it to the floor. “You’re okay, I wouldn’t let anything ever hurt you. It’s just material.” He understood why you freaked out. Whenever he was in his wolf form in the forest, he felt like the rural areas of the kingdom didn’t exist, and he became accustomed to forest life, so he empathised with how you were trying to adjust. You’d lived in the forest your entire lift and knew nothing else, so Jeno could understand why you would freak out over something as small as a piece of material too tight around your chest. You let out a sigh of relief and melted into his hold, his lips pressing soft kisses to your shoulder as his hips rolled into yours in a slower pace. You pushed back into his thrusts, your eyes drifting shut as his pace picked up again, the sound of skin slapping against skin and your sopping walls sucking him in perfectly, echoing around the room and making the heat of the room rise.
“Jenoooo.” You whined as he wrapped his arms around your body, lifting you to be pressed against his strong chest as cock hit new angles inside of you. You gripped onto his hands with yours, your nails digging into his skin so hard that blood trickled down onto the sheets underneath you. Jeno reacted by burying his face into your neck, breathing in your scent, and licking his hot tongue over the permanent mark he’d made on your neck the day you first made love.
“Mine.” He growled, and when his teeth nipped at his claiming mark, your orgasm washed over you with such a euphoric feeling that your body shuddered in his tight hold. Lightning struck behind your eyelids as you bathed in the bliss of the feeling of Jeno’s affection. You felt so sleepy from your high that you went limp in his hold, your head lolling back onto his shoulder as he tensed up. “Going to fill you up.”” His teeth nipped at your earlobe as his voice grumbled lowly, his words causing a small whimper to leave your lips at the thought of his seed spilling inside of you. “You’ll look so fucking beautiful when you’re carrying my baby, the future king or queen of this kingdom.” You knew he didn’t mean his words, well at least not at the moment. It was well known that wolves had a keen need to mate with each other, especially when it was nearing a full moon, the need to continue on with the wolf bloodline and nurture your own babies was so overwhelming sometimes that you could cry from the want of being a mother. But other times you could gag at the sight of children, them being your worst nightmare. Jeno had expressed his want for children only a handful of the times that you’d been intimate, but had made sure to tell you when his head wasn’t swimming with lust that he was happy to wait until you were officially married to start making babies. It was lucky that you were only fertile a handful of days every other month, the wolf breeding different to humans and other species, and you hadn’t experienced any of those days since having met Jeno, so you knew you were in the all clear of pregnancy.
The two of you fell flat on the bed, his breath ghosting over your neck as he panted to catch his breath. He let out a soft laugh and circled his hips into yours once more, eliciting a little mewl from your parted lips and a smile to tug on your lips. He stayed inside of you as he rearranged you both so that you were laying on top of him, your head buried in his chest as your nails scratched lightly at his skin.
“My little princess caused some damage.” Jeno held his wounded hand up to assess the damage that you’d done. It was only weeping with blood now because wolves tended to heal slightly faster than humans. You stared at it and then flicked your eyes back to his own adoring eyes.
“I can cause more damage than that if you get on the wrong side of me.” Jeno let out a loud laugh at your words, his hand coming down to lay on your lower back, the stir of affection pooling inside of you as you stared at his angelic features. His lips were a vibrant red from the abuse your lips had inflicted on them, his hair messy and cheeks tinged pink, the afterglow of sex looking divine on him.
“Get some sleep.” He whispered, his hand trailing with a featherlight touch up your back to play with your hair. You relaxed in his hold, feeling incredibly tired and needing to shut down. “Please don’t worry about anything that happened today with my father, you know you have my protection and forever my love. Rest well my angel.” His soothing voice was enough to have you passed out within minutes.
---
It was a few days later, early in the morning when the sun had hardly begun to make it’s ascent in the sky when Jeno woke up, sensing something was wrong. The heaviness he should have felt of you tucked up against his chest was missing, making him alert with panic striking through his veins. He gulped, his chest starting to rise and fall fast as his senses heighted, his palms sweating and his throat feeling like it was closing up. It felt like his head was being held underneath water as his hearing and sight started to blur, his own voice echoing around his head as he sprung up. He grabbed the nearest clothes he could find, throwing on the loose baby blue shirt and black trousers as his legs carried him out of his room. He paused, taking in a deep breath to try and pinpoint your scent, his lungs feeling like they were burning from the weak scent of your body that he could pick up.
“(Y/N)!!!” He bellowed through the echoing halls of the palace, his legs carrying him as fast they possibly could. People started to emerge from the rooms, concerned expressions marred on their faces as they watched the prince stumble down the hall, his body slick with sweat and his skin pale.
“Jeno!” Once Jeno heard the familiar voice of the castle’s wizard, Mark, he turned towards the source of the voice. “Jeno what’s going on?!” He grabbed Jeno as he about to run past him, stopping the panicked prince and holding him firmly by the shoulders.
“I-I don’t know where (Y/N) is.” He stuttered out, gulping down the lump in his throat to allow the air to flow through to his wheezing lungs.
“We’ll find her! Calm down, you know it’s not good for you to get worked up.” He didn’t want to verbally remind Jeno of the time he’d injured Mark’s significant other from getting worked up, but Jeno got the hint. “Can you track her scent?” Jeno nodded, the heat in his body making him lightheaded.
“It’s weak.”
“Track her.” Mark urged him, giving him a gentle push forward. Jeno gulped down his emotions, trying to get your taste on his tongue as he looked at his surroundings. He felt the burning inside of him before he could stop it, and his body suddenly erupted into his wolf form. He sniffed the air, your scent completely overtaking his head and causing his legs to take off before he could even think about it. It was as if he could see your scent, the only colour through his black and white vision sitting above the floor like a vibrant mist. His journey took him through the castle grounds, all the way to the gate. Jisung saw Jeno approaching and had opened the gate, letting Jeno run through as fast as he could. He could feel his heart in his chest, the adrenaline pumping through him like a spark on a trail of gunpowder. Your scent got stronger. He knew he was getting close. But seeing your body hidden behind a pile of barrels on the outskirts of the forest had him changing into a human faster than he ever had. You were peeking over a barrel, staring at the town folk as they went about their normal business. He didn’t care that he was barer than the day he was born as he ran up behind you and pulled your body against his own, your back hitting his chest so hard you let out a grunt.
“I thought you were gone.” He whispered into your neck, his lips scaling over your skin as his hands ran over your body, checking for any injuries. “Never do that again.” He held onto you tightly, relishing in your body heat and scent. You relaxed into his touch, your eyes never leaving the scene in front of you though. Jeno sighed, looking up and following your gaze. “What are you looking at?”
“My brother.” You mumbled, pointing at the tall man stood with a petite lady that had a child sat on her hip. Jeno’s eyes followed your finger and his grip softened on you. “I want to go home.” You turned in his hold, burying your head into his chest and letting out a soft sigh.
“Okay baby.” The trip back to the castle was slow. You both phased into your wolf forms and took a slow run home. It still felt strange for you to call the palace your home, but you knew you had to look to the future and stop dwelling on the past. When you got back into the castle grounds the both of you changed back into your human forms and were met by Mark, who gave you clothes to change into. After you were both dressed, Jeno took your hand into his tightly and directed you back to your shared bedroom, sitting you on the bed and taking his place beside you.
Silences ensued between you both for a few minutes, Jeno waiting for you to speak up first, but you just stared at your hand linked with his own. His hand was considerably larger than your own and fit perfectly in yours. You took a deep breath, exhaling slowly before starting to tell him your story. “My mother left me and my brother when we were young. It was just the two of us alone in the forest until we took a trip to the town. He met a girl, fell in love, and told me that he was going to live his life as a human. He left me alone and today was the first time I’d seen him since he left five years ago.” Your eyes drifted up Jeno’s arm to eventually settle on his face. He was staring at your hands until he noticed that you had started looking at his face. He stared you straight in the eye and gave you a sad smile. “I couldn’t help myself. Now that I live as a human most of the time, I knew I had to see him.”
“You traced his scent?” Jeno asked even though he knew the answer already. You nodded, confirming his suspicions. “You remembered his scent five years later?”
“He’s my only family Jeno, of course I remembered it. You leaned in, laying your head against his shoulder which took him slightly by surprise. It was often him who had to initiate all displays of affection between the two of you, as you sometimes felt strange putting all of your love into him.
“I’m your family.”
“You’re my mate, there’s a difference.”
“We’ll make our own family.” Jeno moved you around so that his lips were pressed to your neck, his mouth parted and his tongue darting out to trail around in circles on your skin.
“Jeno you never told me your story.” You felt his hand land on your thigh, his fingers slowly massaging at your skin as his tongue pressed harder to your neck.
“You smell so good.” He clearly wasn’t listening, letting his hormones take over his brain to fog up his subconsciousness.
“Jeno.” You said sternly, ignoring the fire that he was causing to ignite in your stomach from the strong scent of hormones he was emitting. He growled into your neck before drawing away from you, his bottom lip tucked between his teeth as his eyes scanned your bedroom.
“My father fucked the witch, had Renjun as an illegitimate child that he hid from everyone, until Renjun’s mother told him, Renjun then confronted the king and the king had his mother killed, and then he tried to attack my father. Long story short, I got in the way and ended up being cursed as a wolf until I die. My father had a bounty put on Renjun’s head after Renjun ran away, and you saw me find out about the truth on the day that we met. Any questions?” He licked his bottom lip as he turned his head to stare at you. You gulped as you took in the information, your eyes wide at the drama that had gone on in the castle whilst you were living your life in the forest. It suddenly occurred to you that if Jeno hadn’t been cursed, then he would never have wolf instincts and you wouldn’t have been mates, so in a way you were glad that it had happened, even if you felt horrible selfish for feeling that way.
“Do you regret that it happened?” You leaned in, placing a timid kiss to his parted lips.
“No, it brought me to you…can I put my babies in you now?” He almost growled, dipping his head and running his tongue up your neck, his hormones and wolf instincts fogging up his head so much that he couldn’t supress his need for you. You knew that he didn’t mean his words, but the impending full moon had a huge influence on his instincts, and his head wasn’t thinking before his mouth was talking. You knew that it would be down to you to stop the baby making happening, because males suffer from the influence of the moon worse than females do. You took a deep breath, trying desperately not to succumb to his pleas, but before you could answer, the door swung open and hit the wall. You both glanced up fast, and you could feel the anger and annoyance radiating off of Jeno as he looked to see who had interrupted you.
“Prince Je-” Mark started; his eyes wide as Jeno cut him off with an annoyed bark.
“What?!”
“The King wants you. Now.” Mark’s face looked pale, and his eyes were wide, like he was afraid of something. You tilted your head, furrowing your eyebrows and looking to Jeno.
“Stay here.” He wasn’t asking you; he was telling you, and you didn’t want to piss him off when he was already on edge from the moon.
“He wants to see you both.” Mark gave you a lopsided smile almost as if he was silently apologising. Jeno visibly tensed, his nostrils flaring and his jaw clenching as he tried to suppress his anger.
“Fine.” He gently took your hand, a complete juxtaposition to how his actual mood was, and held onto it tightly as Mark lead you both through the castle halls. You noticed that Mark had his wand in his hand, which caused your head to tilt in confusion. In the whole time you’d been at the castle, you hadn’t once seen Mark use his wand or even have it in his hand as if he was ready to use it, and you’d seen Mark nearly every day of the short amount of time you’d been living there. You narrowed your eyes and stopped dead, feeling Jeno gently tug on your arm as he also stopped, glancing at you in concern. “What’s wrong?”
“Something’s not right.” You had a bad feeling in your gut, and you gulped, trying to fight the inner urge to run and leave the castle. You smelt something suddenly and quickly turned around as if whatever it was were behind you. You glanced around and felt the air leave your lungs in shock as you realised the smell. It was a smell you’d smelt many times in the forest, and it sent shivers down your spine, now it made sense as to why you couldn’t see anything. “There’s a demon in the castle…I can smell it.” Your words had Jeno’s eyebrows knitting together in confusion as he sniffed the air. He narrowed his eyes and shook his head, pulling you firmly. Demons were one of the only creatures of the night that shook you to the core. You knew how dangerous they could be, and even being in the vicinity of one was making you cling onto your mate.
“There isn’t, come on.” You highly doubted Jeno even knew what a demon smelt like, but you weren’t about to argue with him, especially as his grip on your hand became a lot tighter, signalling that even you were starting to irritate him. You both walked after Mark, your heart thudding so hard in your chest you felt like it was going to burst out. Walking into the grand hall, the first thing you noticed was that the King and Queen were perched on their thrones, opposite of the large double wooden doors that you were entering through. The next thing you noticed was that Mark didn’t enter the room, instead he stayed by the door and motioned for you and Jeno to approach his mother and father. Then you took note of all of the knights that lined the outer side of the room, making a makeshift walkway for you both like you were walking up the aisle on your wedding day. Even if Jeno noticed the panic and anxiety radiating off of you, he made no effort to mention it or acknowledgement.
“Nice of you to join us, son.” The King spoke in a sickly-sweet tone putting emphasis on his last word, his lips curling up into a smile that had your stomach swirling. Jeno let go of your hand once you reached the stairs leading up to the thrones, and you reached out to take his hand again but one daring look from the King told you not to.
“What do you want?” Jeno clearly didn’t care to uphold formalities, his tone coming out brash and demanding, like he wasn’t talking to his King. Also he had been interrupted during a time that he didn’t wish to be interrupted, and his excess of hormones flooding throughout his body didn’t make anything easier. The King simply chuckled, nodding his head towards someone out of your line of sight. At the King’s silent request, you felt someone grabbing you from behind, two pairs of hands taking one arm each and holding you tightly. Jeno reacted immediately, about to tear their hands off for touching his mate when he was grabbed himself and forced to kneel on the carpets.
“What are you doing?! Let her go!!!” He roared, his voice echoing through the hall like he was the only person occupying the room. You struggled against their hands, desperately looking to Jeno as they pushed you hard onto your knees. You wanted to change into your wolf form, at least that way you at least stood a chance, but before you could the King piped up.
“If either of you change into your mutt forms. I’ll have all of my men behead her in front of you.”
“Father! Please don’t do this!” Jeno resorted to pleading, his entire body starting to quiver in fear and repressed power. He was trying so hard not to change, he always struggled with his emotions causing his body to react before his brain could, but your life was on the line.
“I told you not to make a decision you’d regret.” The King stood up but made no effort to move from his spot. “Now’s your last chance Jeno. Make it quick.”
“I choose her! I don’t care if you disown me and kick me out. I’d rather that than lose her.” Jeno glanced at you, his eyes glistening as they glowed amber, his inner wolf ready to burst out. Your bottom lip wobbled as you held back tears, seeing your mate in distress was causing you distress, and you felt touched that he chose you over everything he’d ever known. You’d only known him for just over two weeks, yet he was choosing you because his instincts wouldn’t let him live if he chose otherwise.
“Who said anything about disowning you or kicking you out? No no my sweet boy.” The King laughed sinisterly, his smirk growing as he stared down at his son. “I wouldn’t do that to you, you’re my son!” He turned his head towards the guards holding you and nodded his head once more, his face falling into one of no emotion. “Kill her.”
“NO!” Jeno couldn’t hold it in any longer, and his body ripped into his enormous wolf form that had the knights holding onto him flying across the floor from the power. He let out a loud growl as he turned towards you, but by the time he had his eyes on you, one of the guards had their dagger to your throat. The cold blade pressed so tightly against your neck that you felt hot blood trickle down your chest, but it didn’t hurt, you had too much adrenaline rushing through you. As Jeno’s eyes focused on the scarlet liquid running down your throat, he swore to himself he would rip anyone to shreds that hurt you. All the surrounding knights drew their swords and pointed them towards you and Jeno, circling you like a pack of hungry wolfs about to devour a deer, only you never thought you’d be the deer of the situation. Your body was shaking, terror quaking your soul when you realised this could be the end. All because fate made the Prince of the Kingdom your mate.
Everything went silent and still as an emerald green light flew through the hall, it light up the room like a fire and hit a group of knights with such a hard impact that it sent them flying into the opposing wall. You couldn’t see what was going on, as you were being held so tightly, but you heard shouting and saw many more sparks in an array of colours flying through the air. Suddenly you were thrown to the floor, your body hitting the cold tiles hard, but it didn’t stop you from jumping up and taking a stance beside Jeno. You looked over towards the door where the sparks were coming from and you saw Mark holding his wand out with Renjun beside him, and Jisung on his other side. Renjun had his wand drawn, and Jisung’s eyes were glowing golden. Jeno had informed you before that Jisung was a dragon, but you had yet to see his other form, you’d heard stories about dragons and wondered if he could even fit in the grand hall in his dragon form. You soon found out, as Jisung’s body was swallowed up in flames and in his place grew a dragon that nearly touched the untouchably high ceiling. He used his tail and swiped at many knights, knocking them all to the floor hard enough that they didn’t get back up again. The other knights didn’t last long, as Renjun and Mark took most of them out, and Jeno lunged at the ones who had been holding onto you. You turned your head away, but the sounds of their bloodcurdling screams didn’t last long once Jeno had gotten his teeth into their necks.
Mark and Renjun rushed to you both, leaving Jisung in the entrance of the room to stop anyone else from entering. The King’s eyes went as wide as a full moon, his mouth opening and parting in shock at the sight of his runaway bastard, he also knew that he had no one to protect him now that all of his knights were either unconscious or dead.
“R-Renjun?” The King stuttered out, his fists clenching tightly as he looked at you all.
“Hello Father, did you miss me?” Renjun smirked, gripping his wand tighter as the thought of revenge for the death of his mother played on his mind. The King’s jaw tightened, and his eyes darted to the boy stood beside Renjun.
“Mark, how could you betray me like this?! You will be hung for this, after I hang your little bitch of a maid first.” He sneered, still thinking he had the right to throw his orders around despite being outnumbered.
“I was never hired to help you. My specific orders were to make sure your son was safe. I’m just doing as I’m told your highness.” Mark deadpanned, unaffected by the threat of being hanged. You looked over at Jeno, seeing how the fur on his back was rising as he growled. Without any more being said, he took off, running at his father with his teeth bared. But he suddenly stopped dead. The King had withdrawn a knife, and had the Queen in his arms, the shining blade pressed against her throat.
“One more move Jeno and your mother’s blood will be spilling on the floor.” The King said lowly with so much threat in his voice that it sent shivers down your spine. Jeno whimpered, his undying love for his mother ceasing all of his plans to kill his father. She looked panicked in his hold, her hands gripping tightly at his arm as large tears rolled down her pink cheeks. You would never have expected the King to turn on his own wife, but the evil glint in his eye proved to you that he had completely lost his mind, mad with power at his sons’ defiance. The King was too busy staring his son in the eye that he didn’t notice Renjun raise his wand. The spell hit the King in face, the magic black as night and not giving the King any chance to dodge it. The knife fell to the floor with an echoing clang, the Queen breaking free of her husband’s hold and running down the stairs to her son’s side. The King staggered back, his hands coming to his throat as he struggled to breathe, his mouth gasping for breath until his face turned purple, which quickly turned to an icy blue, just before he collapsed to his knees, and fell face fire onto the floor, lifeless.
Renjun had gotten his revenge, and he couldn’t stop the smirk that tugged at his lips as he saw the man who took his mother’s life away, dead on the floor in front of his own throne.
“Jeno!” You rushed to him as his body shrank back into his human form. His body sweating and his skin looking paler than you’d ever seen as he stared at the body of his father. You wrapped your arms around him and buried your head into his neck, hoping that your scent would calm him down, which it did, and he visibly relaxed in your hold.
“Baby…” He whispered, burrowing his nose in your hair, and inhaling your scent, thanking all the gods that ever lived that he wasn’t holding your lifeless body. He held you tightly, his chest rising and falling fast as he tried to catch his breath. You were still in mild shock at what had happened, and your neck was starting to hurt from the minor cut you had received, but it wasn’t bleeding anymore thankfully. Once Jeno had ran his hands all over your body to check for anymore injuries and had declared you safe, he turned his head to Mark and Renjun, also noticing that Jisung had changed back into his human form, covering himself up with Mark’s cloak that he’d passed to him clearly to keep his pride intact. “Renjun, how did you…?” He couldn’t find the words, but Renjun knew what he was implying.
“Mark has known where I’ve been since he started working here. He came to me and told me that you were in danger…I didn’t even think about it, I had to be here for you.” Jeno felt his eyes brimming with tears, the lump in his throat almost choking him as he stared at his brother. He no longer cared that he’d cursed him for life, because it brought him to you, and because in the end, Renjun, the person he’d grown up besides, was his brother, and he knew he should be happy about it. He then looked at Mark and raised an eyebrow, silently asking the question that was playing on your mind too.
“I had heard from someone that the King was planning on killing (Y/N), I knew I couldn’t take him down on my own, and you’re a big bundle of fur and emotions so you couldn’t do it alone,” He ignored the scowl that Jeno gave him as he said that. “So I got Renjun, however…I didn’t think it would escalate this much.” Jeno gulped and smiled, grateful that he had people who would put their own lives at risk for his life and his happiness.
“What about Jisung? Why is he here?” The Queen asked quietly, not happy that they brought the young boy into something that would surely turn into a fight, her maternal instincts flaring over the boy who wasn’t even her own son.
“I heard Mark talking to his girlfriend about it and there was no way I was being left out!” He grinned from ear to ear, clearly excited about the whole thing.
“Mother, did you know that father was planning this?” Jeno stayed sitting on the floor so that his mother didn’t see his private parts, he still wanted to keep his modesty. You clung onto him tightly, your hand rubbing his arm slowly to keep his emotions stable. The Queen shook her head with wide eyes, gasping at the question.
“Of course I didn’t, if I had then I would have warned you to run away. Nothing I could have said to him would have changed his mind, but at least I could have potentially saved your lives.” She took off her own cloak and handed it to Jeno, letting him lay it over his lap to hide himself better.
“Jeno.” Mark called out, gaining everyone’s attention as he walked past everyone over to the King’s body, picking up the golden crown from the floor by his head. “You know that this makes you the King, don’t you?” Jeno hadn’t even thought of that, and his mouth popped open in shock. Then it dawned on him, and he shook his head quickly.
“No. Renjun is the Kings son too, and he’s older than me. That crown belongs to him.” You could feel Jeno’s muscles tensing underneath your palms, indicating that he was getting uncomfortable. You weren’t sure how royalty worked, so you had no idea if what Jeno was saying was correct or not.
“But I’m a bastard Jeno, the Queen isn’t my mother…you have more of a claim to the throne than me.” Renjun’s eyes widened as he stared at the crown.
“You killed him, it’s yours.” Jeno argued softly, shaking his head as he glanced down at your delicate hands on his skin, letting his head hang. Renjun walked up to Mark, taking the crown from him, and inspecting it in his hands. He shook his head, walking up to Jeno and placing it on his younger brother’s head with a smile.
“You always wanted it, it’s yours Jeno.” He placed his hand on Jeno’s shoulder and patted it gently. Jeno looked up with wide, innocent eyes brimming with tears. You could see how much Jeno wanted that crown, and you had no idea that he was that desperate for it until that moment. “I always thought that King Jeno sounded a lot better than Prince Jeno anyway.”
---
A week later Jeno was coronated as King. The entire Kingdom rejoiced that the cruel King was dead and replaced with his son. The Queen had decided to stay in the castle, but she gave up her title as Queen to live a peaceful life, now ready to enjoy watching her son rule the Kingdom. Jeno had introduced you to the Kingdom as his Queen, but you weren’t officially the Queen until you married him, but neither of you cared for that yet, and that didn’t stop Jeno from putting the Queen’s crown on your head. The full moon came and went fast, and both of you had recovered from it with ease. Jeno had fucked you in your bedroom until the sun came up to release the pent-up instincts lingering inside you both, keeping you both away from the moonlight in an attempt to stop your bodies changing. It felt strange not going on a run in your wolf form during the full moon, but you’d both agreed to do that on the full moon after, since this was your first one as mates so you couldn’t take your hands off of each other.
Renjun had returned to the castle with his girlfriend, the bounty over his head completely abolished so he could live safely and peacefully in the castle where he was raised. Jeno had appointed him as his right-hand man, letting Mark keep his position as the castle’s wizard. It couldn’t hurt to have two wizards on hand, and Jeno was more than happy that he’d let go of his past anger towards Renjun and was instead loving having a big brother. The past four months had gone by like a dream, and you were still in mild shock at how much your life had changed just from protecting strangers in the forest from the man you now cuddled up to every night in bed.
As you stood on one of the castles balconies staring out at the setting sun as it shone across the Kingdom, you couldn’t help but let your eyes drift towards the forest to the side of the Kingdom, a soft sigh leaving your lips as you watched the shadows dance around amongst the trees. You sensed Jeno approaching you from behind before you felt him. His arms wrapped around your waist from behind silently, and he pressed a kiss to the back of your neck before settling his chin on your shoulder, staring out at his Kingdom with his love in his arms. You felt comfortable, like nothing could harm you when you were wrapped in his strong embrace.
“Do you want to go on a run tonight?” He spoke quietly in your ear, nibbling on your earlobe playfully and giving you a tender squeeze. You giggled and leaned your head back against him, humming in contentment.
“Can we stay here?” You lifted your head up when he made a strange noise in confusion, his eyes widening at your request.
“But you love going on runs?” He couldn’t quite understand why you’d choose staying in the confinements of the castle over running free and stretching your legs in your wolf form.
“I can’t change forms Jeno. Not for a while.” You whispered, slowly taking his hands from around you and instead placing them both on your flat abdomen. Jeno’s eyebrows knitted together as he thought over the reasons why wolfs can’t change forms. But the only one that poked out amongst the options was one that had the wolf inside of him yearning for you and causing his face to nuzzle into your neck more.
“How long have you known?” He rubbed his hands against your stomach gently, the pride inside of him making him feel like he was on top of the world at finding out about the baby he’d gifted you both with. He had noticed that your scent had changed recently, but he hadn’t thought much of it, as he didn’t know what a pregnant wolf would smell like.
“Not long, I assume it happened on the last full moon…I know this is a lot faster than we planned but it’s only natural for us to move fast, it isn’t about what our minds want-”
“It’s about what our hearts want.” Jeno cut you off and took the words right out of your mouth. You smiled and melted into his hold. “It’s also hard to control your urges, I’ve found it a lot harder to resist things since living like this.”
“I wouldn’t know any different.” You giggled, staring out at the courtyard of the castle.
“I much pr-” Jeno started talking but you cut him off quickly, gasping loudly and pointing out at one of the wooden doors that lead to the inside of the castle.
“There!” Jeno was on high alert now, his eyes following to where you were pointing, but he couldn’t see anything.
“What is it?” You started to shiver in his hold, your hand trembling as you gently pulled it in against your chest with your heart racing faster than it does when you go running in your wolf form. You continued to stare at the door as it swung open once more, before closing again, but there was no one opening and closing it. Jeno then noticed the door moving with no one making it move, his breath hitching in his throat as he dared to speak. “How is the door doing that on its own?”
“It’s not doing it on its own…” You whispered, dragging your eyes away to turn around and look Jeno in the eye.
“But…what could be doing that then without us being able to see it?” He frowned in confusion; worry littered across his face as he stared down at your own worried expression. You took a deep breath, knowing you were right all along about what you’d smelt on the day the King died.
“A demon.”

C/P from a group regarding inclusivity in the dog world, an interesting discussion I had to comment on:
I am a black balanced- LIMA- trainer. I have stated, in the past, that being militant regarding +R training is a problem rooted in racism as well as furthering problems that disproportionately affect disadvantaged groups. For some examples:
Cost. Already stated higher in the thread, but dog training costs money and so does higher education. I have a dog that needs to be trained. Which will I do: buy a choke chain for $10 at my local Walmart, or sign up for dog training classes at PetSmart for over $100? A clicker might only cost $1 but no one knows how to use them.
Time. Balanced/heavy handed board-and-trains might be several thousands of dollars, but people really like the idea of their dog being perfectly behaved in two weeks. Petco's training classes are structured for it to take AT LEAST eighteen weeks for you to get to CGC, despite being 10% of many board and train facilities' cost. If my dog is screaming in its crate while I'm out and I'm in a rental, I cannot wait however many weeks it will take for +R to get that behavior to stop.
Perception. I am a black person with a doberman. I am viewed as dangerous with my well behaved, quiet dog at a strict heel. Now try that same picture with my dog pulling, lunging, barking, acting a complete fool. Knowing that most dog owners do not know how to train the dogs they have, and knowing that most PoC are well aware of how a badly behaved dog makes them look to other people, can you really be surprised that someone wants results as cheaply and quickly as possible?
Complications. So you have a young GSD who's a bit of a punk with other dogs and you need to contact someone to fix the problem. Well, PetSmart and PetCo both say that they can't take a dog with aggression issues, so your cheaper options are out. Now what do you do? You want your chihuahua to be nicer to strangers that come into your home, but the local trainer says they don't have the insurance to handle bite risks. Now what? While us in the industry know how to locate someone who IS capable of handling these more complicated problems when the easy options are out, most people don't even realize that other options exist.
Ignorance. This is both regarding the owner AND the trainers giving advice. In an area with incredibly strict BSL laws, I had a client once with a pit bull who I can only describe as happy-aggressive. He was so happy to see people that he would lose control and start landing several level 3-4 bites if he could reach them. The owner had asked her family for advice and they told her to get an E-collar. She went to PetCo for an E-collar and was told by the trainer there that E-collars are exactly the same as using a taser, and thus she should buy dog training, except her dog was aggressive so she couldn't buy dog training there. Would you believe this woman, ignorant and feeling out of options, started using her taser on her dog? To this day I'm impressed she didn't kill him doing that before someone gave her my number. The kicker is that this woman didn't even seek out this dog, her kids brought him home and she felt too bad for him to give him to a rescue because the laws in the area called for him to be euthanized. The family was black, in a mostly-black area, and the trainer who gave her such shockingly disingenuous advice was white.
Available dogs. It's something I've spoken about before, but if you KNOW you are dealing with a population that is frequently forced into poverty, why are we surprised that most are not getting pedigreed purebred dogs with nice genetic temperament? They rescue, but with the rising rescue costs of 400-600$ in some areas, many just get the free dog from a friend's litter or pay a hundred or so for a dog they saw on craigslist or whatever. Then we consider the breeds of these dogs- majority of the "pet overpopulation" is going to be chihuahua types and pit bull types, both of which can be weird with dogs and humans if genetic temperament and socialization is poor, and we put them into the hands of someone who doesn't actually know what they're doing. Here in New England a lot of dogs are imported from the South or even from other countries, and they're sick or shy or aggressive and are going home before any of these problems are even remotely close to being fixed. Now I have clients who are spending all of their money making sure their dogs are healthy and are at their wits' end because this dog they love so much is attacking their neighbor's kids.
Speaking as someone who doesn't use +P on my dogs outside of an NRM until they're over a year old, and only if that's required (outside of emergencies), yes, it's true, the majority of pet dogs are perfectly trainable with +R ideals IF they are mentally stable IF they are in capable hands IF there are no additional complications IF the person is willing to invest the time and money into these things. But many times people seek out dog training AFTER the dog has an ingrained bad habit, and the person needs that habit to stop NOW.

What's your favorite species of snake? And do you have a favorite morph?
This one!
Although I named myself after the Aspidities genus because they’re funny little weirdos, I have been in love with Morelia viridis, the Green Tree Python, since I was probably seven or eight years old. They’re a ‘lifetime’ species for me. And it’s pure aesthetics—they’re just incredibly gorgeous. Even when they’re simply pure green, or lack the blue/yellow/white pigmentation, GTPs always look good. They’re a diurnal basking species, too, so they’ll sit right out in the open in the cage on a perch, looking all fabulous and green and mysterious, whereas most of my snakes spend most of their days curled up sleeping in a hiding spot, so when people come to look at the snakes, the GTPs are always the thing to see. I think they’re so pretty.
They’re also one of those ‘advanced’ species that’s a bit harder to care for and can be tricky to raise and breed, so there’s that nice feather in my cap for having not one but two of them thriving at the rates that they are. And mine are absurdly tame and handleable, despite the species having a well-deserved reputation for defensive behavior—but that could honestly come down to my own experience, as I’d say they still require more ‘reading’ and watching for strike behavior than other snakes. They strike fast so you need to learn them quick or you’ll take a few bites. But my two are absolute babies, which means I have these very sweet, very calm, very gorgeous medium-sized bright green snakes to show off and stare at, and I honestly just love them for it.
As for the second q, I’m not really a huge ‘morph’ person, tbh, because I’m one of those ‘reptile snobs’ who just likes animals the way they look in the wild. The ‘wild type’ is usually my favorite, because I’m a total snake nerd and if it looks like it did in the book I owed as a kid, I’m hooked. There’s so many different colors and varieties in the natural snake world too, so I don’t really see a point in a lot of morphs, and there is a significant controversy over breeding for certain colors or patterns in the reptile community, and it’s growing in concern. There are common ‘beginner’ species that are easy for novices and general businesspeople to breed with little to no training—animals like corn snakes, ball pythons, boas, etc—and they can easily be churned out in massive numbers, which they sadly are. The ‘morphs’ are just a new way to put a higher price tag on the same snake, and sometimes it results in truly harmful long term effects like neurological issues (‘stargazing’ and ‘wobbling’ found in both boas and ball pythons of certain morphs) and heart/liver/general organ health issues. Some lines have fatal rectal prolapse disorders. Some lines are prone to blindness and poor vitamin A retention. I have a ‘sunglow’ boa, which is a mix of a hypomelanistic trait and an albinistic trait, and is an animal worth easily $200-300 on the regular market as a cute baby, but she was given to me for free because she had a massive respiratory infection due to poor handling and husbandry, so just because it has a nice price tag when you buy it or the breeder sells it, doesn’t mean it always ends up in good hands, either. My boa is fine now, but she’ll always be slightly smaller and stunted, too, as a result of this morph, and some find that attractive and desirable. Not me, man, I want a big wild Brazilian boa, around 9’ and thick as a golf cart tire! But that’s overbreeding for you.
It’s just as complicated and nuanced an issue as dog breeding, honestly, and just because snakes aren’t cuddly like dogs doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be something folks are aware of when they look at a cool snake. Sometimes that pretty color can have a much higher cost than just the seller’s cash, and you’d never know, as a novice hobbyist. Now, all that preaching being said, do I understand the curb appeal of a morph? Absolutely! They’re cute! And some of them, like albinos and hypos and general single gene morphs, aren’t really all that harmful. It’s just a choice of how much research you want to do before you buy, for one, and, more importantly, if that research is even available when you purchase the animal. Reptile hobby breeding only really exploded in the last 40yrs of keeping, and it’s a new ‘science’. We still don’t know yet what the effects of breeding for color or pattern will be, but I can guess—lots of other animals paved the way for that. If reptiles go the way of purebred dogs, we may be seeing some really severe and common ailments start cropping up and it would be too late to fix it.
So yeah, all of that soapbox to say I just like the snakes to look like the type of snake they is!

Call of the Blood
The morning light shined through the window and sparkled in Meixiu’s earrings. She sat at the vanity while Chu Zihang, laying in his pajamas, split his attention between watching her and reading the morning newspaper.
“So, today’s the meeting.” He hummed.
“Mmhm!” Meixiu said brightly. She turned to him, her shining smooth braids partially coiled up on her head. “Jealous?”
Zihang didn’t look up, turning the page. “No. I’m... more curious than anything.”
“In any other context, that would sound unfeeling. Most men would have objections to the love of their life dressing up and heading out to meet with another man.”
“I don’t forget that you’re only half human. I’m not Caesar.” He his golden eyes met her deep brown ones. “The effect of dragonblood on hybrid social relations is something I’ve always been interested in. How do hybrids fall in love...You say that he means something to you, I mean something to you... and you still won’t tell me what you do when you visit Lu Mingfei. Just what is love to a hybrid with blood as pure as yours?”
“So you want to study me?” Meixiu folded her arms over her chest and lifted her chin, smiling.
Zihang looked her up and down, from her smooth brown legs, up to her small chest and her athletic arms and shoulders. “Always.”
She glanced away, her cheeks growing a little darker. “Flirt.”
“I’m serious. I’m not the only one. It’s actually poorly studied....”
“Shhhh... don’t ruin it!” She stood up. “I don’t know when I will be back. I don’t know what he wants to talk about.”
“I have a few guesses.” Zihang turned back to his newspaper. “You’re the unpredictable one.”
She leaned over and kissed his cheek. “I’ll call you when I’m on my way home. But my phone will be off.”
She turned and walked away. Zihang watched her go.
She didn’t take the car, stepping out onto the street. The distance from her Chicago townhouse to the lakeside was substantial, but the energy afforded her by her dragon blood made the distance not so daunting and would give her a chance to think. Without a mission, without the school, without danger, Meixiu just liked being another person on the street, observing other people.
She watched people as they sat with a sign, begging for handouts, or pushing strollers, walking dogs. Everyone had their own life routine but in the end it was all the same -- gather money to buy necessities.
The summer air of the city was heavy with humidity. As she continued to walk, a sheen of sweat appeared on her bare skin. She started to notice that she was being stared at, being followed by a pale skinned man with some brown stubble. .
“Hey baby. Where you goin’?”
She honored the creep’s eying her with a confident yet challenging smile. There was a time when she would have been afraid of people like him. But by now, she was accustomed to being viewed as a golden apple by far more dangerous people.
Meixiu, like many hybrids, had her genetics to thank for being outside the money making machine. Her genetics were so stable and contained so much dragon DNA that she was sought after the same way a purebred champion showhorse was sought after -- for breeding.
A man, an evil man, paid millions of dollars for just for a few of her egg cells. She was nothing but an object to him and so were her children. Strange how, at that time, she had never felt so valuable and yet so worthless.
The man following her had no idea. He hung back, his lustful stare fixed on her. Perhaps he was waiting for her to turn into an alley or an opportunity to grab her and assault her. She made a wager with herself. She still had two miles to walk. She would see if he could follow her halfway. After all, there was that whole method of walking to hunt after prey and tire them out that ancient hunters used in the wild lands.
She smiled to herself. He had no idea he was following a little Energizer bunny.
She stopped at a crosswalk and he stood far too close to her. He looked around. Was he feeling guilty? Checking for cops? Or was he looking for other creepers to warn them off his chosen prey? “If I googled Crimestoppers, will your name come up?” She asked.
He didn’t answer.
She looked up at him, silently laughing at him behind her eyes while he pretended he totally wasn’t doing what he was doing.
Much to Meixiu’s disappointment, he didn’t follow her across the street. At least when he was accosting her, he wasn’t bothering a weaker person. Maybe he thought that she could be a cop? She puffed out her cheeks, weirded out by her own feelings. Without the creeper, she suddenly felt a little bored and annoyed.
It had been ages since she had felt any sense of danger. After running for her life and fighting to survive, even the slight thrill of a creeper following her brought back that familiar adrenaline.
Eventually, the dark water of the lake over took the city horizon. Greenspace and parks and the cool moist wind breathed life into the concrete jungle. White spires of sailboats cruised like swans behind the thick nautical ropes that blocked off the jogging trail from the riprap.
As soon as she arrived at the water’s edge, she was joined by a tall figure. She turned her head up to look at him and grinned. “Hey there stranger.”
Chisei Gen removed his sunglasses. His skin was a little darker, a sign that he was truly living his dream on French beaches, but he still had the same serious air. He was wearing his dark black windbreaker. He turned to look down her at her. And then he smiled back.
“There was a time...” He said, quietly. “When you would have cowered in terror of me. And now you greet me like this? I still can’t get used to it.”
“You should visit more often then.” Meixiu leaned against the ropes. “When you called me out of the blue, I thought someone died.”
“You didn’t tell anyone I was here?”
“Of course not. But you know I can’t hide anything from Zihang. He’s the only one who knows. So... that means you can come for dinner!”
Chisei was silent a moment. Zihang and Chisei weren’t the closest of friends - that honor went to Gattuso - but Zihang had a pleasant open minded curiosity and innocence to him that she knew he found refreshing.
There was nothing cynical or jaded about Chu Zihang.
“I’m afraid I must decline. I have to remain separate from the secret party for the safety of the world.”
“You’re not a threat to the world, Chisei. You protected it.”
“I’m afraid I can’t agree, but that shouldn’t surprise you by now.”
Meixiu swallowed her disappointment. The rise of a bloodline of superhybrids, those who could over come the blood threshold and keep their sanity, could easily become the rulers of the world and dominate all hybrids with an iron fist. She knew that Chisei would never do that. But what about his children?
His grandchildren? His great-grand children?
As far as Chisei was concerned, he was a monster who needed to go extinct.
She sighed. “So what brought you all the way down here? What’s going on?”
“That’s what I’ve come here to ask. Your research into a treatment for the unstable is bearing fruit. Attacks by unstable hybrids and sightings of deadpool are at their lowest ever recorded.”
“Chime contacted me to tell me that for the first time, he’s had less than a dozen new students at his school for the unstable. And yet, the Devil Clan members still produce unstable children. It’s like... they’re disappearing.” His eyes took on a hard stony edge. “I want the truth, Meixiu...”
“If you’re thinking you’re going to dig under the Cassell college and find a Deadpool spawning tank, I can assure you that’s not the case.”
“No, I’m thinking something far worse.”
Meixiu’s hands tightened on the rope and then relaxed. “I’m not Herzog. What are you implying?”
“Everyone knows that Deadpool and unstable hybrids turn into servants of dragons. Everyone knows of your high level dragonblood. You look sane, you look healthy... but the call of the dragon will be more powerful to you than to anyone else.”
Meixiu felt her pulse start to race. “The Executive Department has not detected a dragon heartbeat in years.”
“Strange that.” Chisei continue to stare at her. “I used to lead the Executive Department in Japan. I know how deadpool work. Cassell has a higher level search network than Kaguya, but suddenly their searches come up empty? It was too strange for me to ignore.”
“So I took matters into my own hands. I’m sorry, Meixiu. But I followed one of the hybrids that failed in her rehabilitation. She got on a boat, heading towards an island owned by Cassell. So I asked Kaguya to... discreetly look into it... and Tsukino Usagi was active there.”
Tsukino Usagi - the location spoofing program that was a sister program of Kaguya. It was built to provide a hiding place from EVA by providing her with endless supplies of false data. It created a false impression of what was really going on in an area. Like a digital Nibelungen.
“Why would a program designed to hide from EVA be over an island owned by Cassell?”
“Not everyone at Cassell agrees with what I’m doing. Not everyone at the Secret Party agrees. But Chisei, you agreed. You wanted the violence to stop! We’re still working on a replacement serum for Bondarev and Herzog’s recipe. We have to keep that research protected, even from the Secret Party and Cassell.”
“That’s all?” Chisei asked.
“Yes, that’s all.” Meixiu sighed.
“So my next question... What are you going to do when these over-threshold hybrids hear the next dragon heartbeat? They will immediately fall away to the dragon side in large numbers. Aren’t we providing an army for the King of Sky and Wind?”
“I have a contingency. We’re continually refining EX-Imperium, the voice of the Dark King. No deadpool can resist it. They’ll have no choice but to stand down once it’s unleashed. The runic copy we use for the E3 exam to awaken dragonblood is too weak to be effective, but we’re getting closer to an exact copy that can be used as a suppressor.”
Chisei was silent for a long time. Meixiu closed her eyes and let the breeze caress her face and the sound of the water lapping on the rocks soothe her nerves.
“Where are you getting the fetal blood necessary for the serum if not from a deadpool spawning tank?”
Meixiu’s shoulders sagged. “Stop asking me that. I can’t tell you. I’m working on a replacement. When I succeed, you’ll be the first to know. The first.”
She finally lifted her eyes to look at him. His soft sad gaze hurt her deeper than the hard edge. Meixiu knew he wouldn’t approve of what she was doing. She never said there wasn’t a spawning pool... just that it wasn’t under Cassell.
“I just don’t want us to end up on the opposite side of this war. I can feel it. You’re straying dangerously close to the edge.” He murmured.
“I was born for this.”
His eyebrows quirked upward, questioning.
“There was a prophecy about me.” She explained. “That I would stand on the threshold between the world of man and the world of dragons.”
“Who said this prophecy?”
“I can’t tell you.”
Chisei chuckled and looked away out over the water. “Of course not.”
She rocked on her heels. “So you’re right. I’m on the edge. I’ll stay on the edge. It’s nerve-wracking. And I’m sorry.” She followed his gaze. “By the way, you put that coat on in the heat of summer. You look like a vampire.”
The wind toyed with the edges of his black windbreaker, revealing the Ukiyo-E pattern. “I felt like it was appropriate. I’m not part of the Hydra any more, but this felt too much like a mission for me to resist.”
“But you don’t have Spider Fang with you.”
“I don’t.”
“What were you planning to do without a weapon?”
Chisei sighed deeply. “Given what I knew, I had to come talk to you.”
Meixiu huffed with laughter. “You ain’t gonna do nothin’.”
“I had you going for a second there though, right?”
“You’re a punk!” She turned, giving him a playful punch in the arm. She turned around and leaned her back against the ropes. “Come to dinner. Please?”
“I cannot.” He put his dark glasses back on. “Give my regards to your husband.”
He turned and began to walk away. Meixiu watched his figure grow smaller and smaller, shrinking down to a tiny dot before getting swallowed up by the waves of heat rising up from the Chicago asphalt. She folded her hands in front of her.
She lowered her eyes. She wished she could tell him everything. He’d come very close to the truth. But the truth was unimaginable.
The questions he’d asked... had she fallen to the dragon side? Was she a deadpool, manipulated by dragons without knowing it?
“Meixiu...”
She startled and turned. “Zihang! You followed me?” She stomped her foot. “Oh... why can’t you trust me for one second?”
He was standing in a simple button down shirt and jeans. A gym bag was slung across his back. It looked like he was just going to the tennis court, but what was in the bag was his swords. “I trust you. It’s him...”
“You really are jealous...” Her voice trailed off. “Did he see you?”
“Eventually.” Zihang’s eyes narrowed slightly.
“Ugh.” She folded her arms and looked away, annoyed at his protective interference. “I did want him to come to dinner and you go and pull that stunt...”
“You were really scared for a reason. Despite his claims of neutrality, he still has a strong sense of his view of right and wrong and has a hard time tolerating anything he views as wrong.” He offered her his hand. “Scale of 1 to 10... how close was he to the truth?”
Meixiu chewed her lip. “I’m not going to answer that...” She took his hand. “Stop asking questions.”
“Alright.” He rubbed his chin with his free hand. “Your lack of an answer says enough.”
They walked side by side for a moment.
She was the one who broke the silence. “He wasn’t unarmed... was he?”
“He was.” Zihang’s eyes shifted upward far into the distant tall buildings.
On the top of one of them, a sniper had lain in wait. It wasn’t hard to find her and her partner. Meixiu insisted on coming alone and probably had assured Chisei that she would. So they weren’t expecting his swift and brutal attack and Chisei didn’t have a back up. With their weapon neatly sliced in half, he’d discovered the philosopher stone and mercury laced ammunition and confiscated it.
From one former executive department agent to another, he understood Chisei’s urge to take matters into his own hands that made her visit to him inherently dangerous.
Meixiu’s feelings were too important for him to openly interfere. That made things difficult. Their bond was precious to both of them, no matter how unbalanced and uneasy it was. That was something he understood all too well.
His mind drifted back to Xia Mi and he forced it away.
So she would still be friends with him. He would still feel for her. But there would always been a blade within his sleeve.
Zihang would be her shield from it.

That Sweet Spring Heat
Fandom: My Hero Academia
Pairing: Katsuki Bakugou/Eijirou Kirishima
Summary: Spring had just begun to fully bloom, the air warming and flowers just starting to bud, when Kirishima Eijirou loses his goddamn mind and Bakugou Katsuki is not having it.
Warnings: Hybrid au, smut, breeding kink, no mpreg, dirty talk, cat hybrid Bakugou, dog hybrid Kirishima, lingerie, strength kink, slight feminization, bottom Bakugou, top Kirishima
Notes: A little more information than you need but the breeds of hybrids are:
Kirishima- A mutt (German Shepard/Rottweiler mixed with some lab blood) Bakugou- Purebred Dragon Li Cat (seriously, read the description for them. It fits him perfectly. Just more blond)
They don't show up a lot but I thought about this au for a bit so for the others: Urakara- A Shiba Inu (because they are round bois) Momo- Japanese Crane (her family seems very elegant and traditional and cranes seem very traditionally Japanese to me) Sero- Spider (because him shooting out tape reminds me about spiders shooting out silk) Ashido- Komodo Dragon (Basically my brain went, she has horns, they remind me of lizards, Komodo dragons are dangerous, she's dangerous, we have a match) Midoriya- Fuzzy Lop Rabbits (listen, I love all the fan art I see of rabbit Deku and his mask really does look like rabbit ears) Kaminari- Field Mouse (listen, I will not give up this headcanon) The two random OCs- Black Horn Sheep
Spring had just begun to fully bloom, the air warming and flowers just starting to bud, when Kirishima Eijirou loses his goddamn mind and Bakugou Katsuki is not having it.
Bakugou's blond fluffy ears lay flat on his hair, a vein popping along his forehead, his sleek tail flicking back and forth. His arms are crossed over his chest, staring down at his stupid ass boyfriend.
Kirishima stares back with bright eyes, a clueless grin on his lips as his large red tail thumps against the bed, ears perked. His full attention is on Bakugou.
They continue their staring contest for a full minute, in which Bakugou's scowl deepens and deepens.
Finally, he snaps. "Alright, you fuck, what’s up?"
Kirishima raises an eyebrow. "What?"
Bakugou throws his hands out, gesturing at all of him. "You! What's going on in that fucking brain of yours?"
Kirishima's tail slows down in its wagging, just a bit. "Ah, Bakugou, don’t be rude, man. I thought we were having fun." He wiggles his eyebrows.
"That’s not the point mutt-for-brains. You’ve been acting weird and I want to know why.”Bakugou's hands crackle and spark, a clear warning sign.
The effect is slightly weakened by the fact that they are both naked, Bakugou straddling Kirishima's hips, and Bakugou's thighs stained in Kirishima's cum.
Kirishima, because he's a goddamn idiot, ignores the warning explosions, his lightly hardened hands scratching at the skin of Bakugou's waist. He just tilts his head. "Babe, I really don't know what you mean."
Bakugou snarls. "Fine. Keep being weird." Then he climbs off that thick waist, stomping out of the room, Kirishima calling after him.
~
If Bakugou thinks about it, this whatever the hell is wrong with Kirishima started about a month ago, after one of the charity events their agency had set up.
Bakugou hadn't really been that interested in any of the interviews or journalists trying to catch his attention, no doubt most of them hoping that Ground Zero will give them some drama to report on. Instead, he had left that for the heroes like Red Riot and Deku and Alien Queen to handle.
He had chosen to focus more on why they are here. Children had been laughing and screaming and playing all around him, other heroes had been chasing after them or sitting to draw. He had seen Uravity throwing kids up in the air, letting them float for a bit before releasing and catching them. Creati had been making toys, laughing at the increasingly extravagant demands, her large white wings spreading out behind her in excitement. Cellophane had allowed himself to be strung up by his own tape, kids dancing around him.
A hand had yanked on one of his black sleeves, making him look down. A little girl, with wild curly black hair and narrowed brown eyes had frowned back at him. Two small horns peek through her mane and a small tail swished behind her, betraying her nerves.
He had knelt down, coming face to face with her, ears turning straight forward to show she had his full attention. "What do you need, squirt?"
Her eyes had narrowed even more. "My names not squirt ."
"Sure it isn't, squirt. Now, what are you bothering me for?"
She huffed and held up two wooden swords. "I want to play Pirates but none of the other kids want to play with me. They say I'm too rough."
Bakugou had given her a rueful grin. "Yeah? Well fu-frick them. I'll take you on."
She had gaped at him. "Really?"
Bakugou had snatched one of the wooden swords and stood to his full height. "Do you think you can take Ground Zero?"
She stared for a moment and then she had grinned, showing off her teeth. "Yeah!" Then she striked forward.
His sword had swept down to meet hers, making a wooden clack sound, and the two are off. They go back and forth, running all around the field, gaining and losing ground in waves.
When the girl is left panting, her dress covered in dirt and grass stains, Bakugou had finally allowed himself to be knocked to the ground.
She had taken the chance and had stabbed him in the stomach.
Bakugou had hissed and then his body relaxed against the ground. "Damn, ok, you got me, you got me. I give."
She giggled, before pointing her sword in the air, the other hand on her hip. "I did it! I defeated Ground Zero."
Bakugou chuckled, before grabbing her and bringing her close to lick at the dirt on her face, grooming her. "Yeah, yeah, squirt."
She smacks him with the sword, squirming. "Hey," he had said, letting her go.
She frowned down at him, putting her hands on her hips. "My name's not squirt . I won didn't I?"
He gave her a small smile. "Yeah, you did. You deserve more respect don't ya? So, do I get the honor of knowing who has beaten me?"
Her chest puffed out. "My name is-"
" Doi ."
Both of them had turned to see a harried-looking man jogging up to them. Kirishima right behind him a small frown on his face.
The girl, Doi Bakugou assumed, dropped her sword and had bite the bottom of her lip. Bakugou sat up, warily watching as the two approaches.
The man came to a stop right before them, huffing. "What did I tell you about being so forceful?" He turned to Bakuoug, bowing so low his curly horns almost touch his knees. "I'm sorry if she hurt you, sometimes she forgets her own strength-"
"It's fine," Bakugou interrupted, standing up and brushing the dirt off his costume. His tail lazily swayed behind him. "We were just having some fun."
The man had still looked unsure. Doi had been quiet, but she's had looked up at Bakugou now. "Are you really ok? I know she can-"
Bakugou waved off his apologies. "Yeah, of course. I'm a hero, aren't I? I can handle a little roughness. Besides, you have a great sword handler here." He made sure to catch Doi's eyes. "I hope you continue to work on them. You would make a good hero one day."
Her eyes had gone wide. "Do you really think so?"
"Of course," Bakugou had sniffed. "I never say anything I don't mean." Then he gave her a sharp smirk, hand ruffling through her hair. "Squirt."
"Hey!" She had gone to kick him, her father panicking again.
Bakugou had just laughed, ruffling her hair again. "Come back next year and show me how much you've improved."
"I will," she had promised. Then she had puffed out her chest. "And when I win again, you have to use my name."
"Promise."
Bakugou had watched the two of them go, Doi excitedly replaying all of their fight for her dad, who nervously smiled at her but a lot more relaxed than when he had first appeared.
He had turned to say something to Kirishima but is stopped short. Kirishima had been staring at him, eyes heavy and lidded with something that made Bakugou's throat go dry.
Then Kirishima blinked and he's back to normal, big goofy grin in place, his floppy ears bouncing as he walked forward to throw an arm over Bakugou's shoulder, bringing him closer. "Did you have fun, babe?"
Bakugou had grunt, side-eyeing him, not sure what that had been all about but not willing to let it ruin his good mood. "Sure."
Kirishima had just laughed and then they were swarmed by reporters and didn't have much of a chance to talk after that.
~
It's not that Bakugou is exactly bothered by what is happening. Kirishima has always been touchy, even before they started dating. He has wandering hands, that love to grope and grab at Bakugou and it's often Bakugou that has to remind him that they're in public, you idiot.
So he isn't bothered by the fact that, for the past month, Kirishima has been manhandling him more often, pushing and pulling him into positions or trying to bend him over their furniture. He isn't bothered by the fact that Kirishima will come up behind him, arms around his waist, as he presses kisses into his sensitive neck.
What is unusual is that Kirishima has taken to curving his large hands around Bakugou's stomach, his eyes unable to look away as he fucks his way inside Bakugou's willing body. He's a bit confused why Kirishima has become extra invested in his nipples, why he keeps calling them "tits", or why he sucks at them as if hoping milk will come out.
It's also pretty fucking weird that Kirishima has become insatiable these past few weeks.
Kirishima has always had a higher sex drive than Bakugou. It's worked for them so far. If Bakugou isn't up to it, Kirishima is more than fine with his hand.
But lately, Kirishima has become really, really insistent, grinding against Bakugou's ass or surprising him in the shower to finger him open. Bakugou has sat on Kirishima's knot more times than he can count, has milked Kirishima for all he's worth as the dog hybrid pinches his nipples and leaves bite marks on his shoulder.
In essence, Kirishima has become a bit sex-crazy and Bakugou just wants to know why. It can't be because it's mating season. Kirishima has never acted like this before. Something had to have set him off and Bakugou is going to get to the bottom of it.
~
By this point, Bakugou is ready when Kirishima comes sniffing around, his big bulky frame covering Bakugou's as he starts kissing at his neck, hand already gripping his hips.
Bakugou allows him for a few seconds, before turning his head, dislodging Kirishima's lips.
Kirishima whines, low in his throat, but Bakugou ignores him. "You can have what you want when you explain what's got you so riled up."
Kirishima huffs, giving him a squeeze. "Not this again. There isn't anything wrong."
Bakugou hums, before dislodging himself. His hips sway as he leaves the room, tail curling invitingly, and he throws a look over his shoulder. "Then I guess you'll just have to do without."
Kirishima watches him leave.
~
Kirishima tries two more times, only to be brushed off. Bakugou wakes up later that night to Kirishima panting in his ear and grinding against his ass.
Kirishima goes to sleep on the couch.
~
Honestly, Bakugou thought that it would just take two days before Kirishima gave in. The horny idiot could never hold out whenever they play this game, often too impatient to get to the good stuff.
So he's a bit surprised when, a week later, and Kirishima is still tight-lipped.
He's even more surprised when Kirishima begins to ramp up his deviant behavior.
They're on patrol, just finishing up their rounds on the 4th district when a call comes over the radio. They pause, listening to a description of suspicious activity before being told to stay put as the situation unfolds.
Bakugou had just started to grunt his agreement when he cuts off into a groan.
"I know you hate not being in on the action, Ground Zero, but this is the best plan," Ingenium says over the radio.
Bakugou can't tell him to shut up because he's too busy holding back moans.
"Yeah, Katsuki," Kirishima says, a smirk curling along his lips. "Just be a good boy and stay still."
Bakugou turns to glare at him, ears flat against his hair, face flushed. But before he can get anything out, Kirishima moves his hand again, stroking from the base of Bakugou's tail up to the tip.
Bakugou can't stop the sound that is ripped from his throat.
Kirishima's eyes dilate and then he's pushing Bakugou against the wall. He crowds in close, fingers still playing with Bakugou's tail. He leans in to whisper in Bakugou's twitching ear.
"Fuck, your mouth. It's so pretty, whether moaning for me or wrapped around my dick."
Eijirou," Bakugou stutters out, heat curling in his stomach. There was no way in hell he could stop the way his hips grind back against Kirishima.
"That's it, baby," Kirishima whispers. "Who's my pretty kitty?"
Bakugou closes his eyes and shivers. His head feels fuzzy, the sudden heat and want and the damn way Kirishima is playing with his tail makes it hard to think straight.
Kirishima leans down and nibbles on his ear, sharp teeth scraping against the soft skin, and Bakugou is gone. All thoughts of punishing Kirishima till he fesses up disappears, he just needs the mutt now and-
"Ground Zero, Red Riot, the situation has escalated. We need you."
The two jerk apart. They stare at each other, breathing hard.
Bakugou grits his teeth.
Kirishima raises his hand. "Katsuki, wait-"
He gets a face full of explosion, barely hardening in time.
"Die," Bakugou screams, face completely red and fur standing on end.
"I'm sorry!"
"Oh, you're about to be."
"Ground Zero and Red Riot, we need you! Do you copy?"
Bakugou bares his fangs, before pressing his comm. "We hear you, Four Eyes-"
"Ingenium!"
"Whatever. We're on our way."
Making sure his comm is off, Bakugou points at Kirishima. "You stay the fuck away from me."
Kirishima pouts, bringing out his literal puppy eyes. "Babe, please-"
"When we're done with this villian, I'm going to throw you through a goddamn wall." And then Bakugou points his hands down, blasting off into the sky.
The villain ends up being quickly brought down and slightly burnt thanks to an angry Ground Zero.
~
Bakugou is steadily ignoring Kirishima, resting up at the agency after their fight, but he does hear the way Kaminari comes up to the red giant and slaps his shoulder, no sense of self-preservation in sight.
"So, I see that you landed yourself in the dog house again, huh?"
Kirishima sighs. "Come on, man. I don't need this today."
"What? Have you been collared? Bakugou got you on a leash?"
"Kaminari, not cool, I don't make mouse puns about you."
"Um, because there are no mouse puns that aren't cool," Kaminari says. "So what has King Explosion Murder neutering you this time?"
Kirishima growls and even from where Bakugou is standing, he shivers at the threat there. "Make one more pun, I dare you."
Kaminari is silent for a minute. And then…
"You were being a horndog, weren't yo-"
Kaminari cries out as he is knocked to the ground, Kirishima standing over him with a hardened fist.
Bakugou hides a snort in his fist.
~
Bakugou's anger is at a shimmer the next day when Kirishima, the bastard, tries again.
They don't have any hero work for that day, just some paperwork they need to fill out about the incident they were involved in, and then they get the rest of the day off.
They decide to head to the gym afterward, splitting up for a bit as they get their individual workouts in.
Bakugou always finishes his up early, hitting the showers, before going out to spot for his boyfriend.
The cat hybrid would rather die than admit that this is actually his favorite part of their shared workouts. To be able to stare at his boyfriend unabashedly, watch those muscles bulge and work, watch his broad shoulders strain under the weights, watch as sweat glides down his body.
He might have initiated a sex ban, but that doesn't mean he can't appreciate the view.
Kirishima has moved on to the big weights, curling them as he counts, the sweat along his body letting Bakugou know that he's been there a while. He nods at Bakugou to show that he sees him before going back to lifting.
Bakugou stands a few feet away, next to the benches where he knows Kirishima will head next. He takes a long drink of water, eyes drifting up and down Kirishimia’s body and can’t help but smirk when Kirishima squats to drop the weights.
Then his eyes drift up to meet Kirishima’s in the mirror.
Kirishima’s eyes are dark and Bakugou finds himself caught in them. Kirishima licks his lips, drawing Bakugou’s eyes, before he stands back up, slowly. Bakugou gulps, but it’s too late to take back his mistake.
Kirishima has him caught, like prey.
Kirishima makes his way towards the bench, putting on his preferred weights, before beckoning Bakugou over. “You’re going to help me, aren’t you?” His voice has the start of rough edge and Bakugou holds in his shiver.
“Sure. Think you can actually beat that weak record of yours?”
Kirishima gives him a sharp smirk. “Of course.”
Then he starts to get to work. His arms are impressive as they bend and stretch, the heavyweights going up and down as if they were nothing. Bakugou’s eyes can’t help drifting to them or to the way Kirishima’s shirt scrunches up, showing off that toned stomach, and Bakugou watches for a brief second as it contracts and expands.
Kirishima clears his throat and Bakugou’s eyes jerk up to his. “You have a job to do, Katsuki. Don’t go slacking now.”
Bakugou tenses, tail twitching in agitation. “And you should be lifting. Whose slacking now?”
Kirishima grins, but continues his work out. Bakugou huffs, but focuses more on spotting. Wouldn’t want the idiot to hurt himself.
Kirishima finishes up and heads for the showers, Bakugou waiting just outside the locker room for him on his phone.
He is not at all prepared for when a hand grabs the back of his shirt and pulls him into the locker room. He twists his body around, hands sparking as they come into contact with someone.
Someone with hardened arms.
Bakugou barely has time to blink, eyes landing on red hair, before he’s being lifted up and slammed into the wall. Bakugou’s teeth clink together, but that doesn’t stop him from reaching out to grab at Kirishima’s throat.
They stop for a second, breathing hard, red eyes meeting red. Then their lips are clashing together, teeth biting at lips. Bakugou’s hands tangle in Kirishima’s hair, pulling hard. Kirishima’s hands are under his ass, squeezing, before pulling at Bakugou’s legs, helping them to wrap around his waist. Kirishima grinds down at him and Bakugou fucking groans.
“Shit, Katsuki, do you know what it does to me to see you drooling over my muscles?” Kirishima growls. “How hard it gets me that you love the fact that I could manhandle you into any position I want? I could slam you against these lockers, fuck you into your slutty body, and there’s nothing you can do about it.”
They both know that’s not completely true, that Bakugou would find a way to break free if he really wanted to, but right now, all Bakugou does is moan, yanking harder at Kirishima’s hair, lost to the images Kirishima paints.
Kirishima squeezes his ass, kneading the flesh there. “My second favorite part of your body, right behind your sweet tits. I especially love when it’s bouncing on my knot.”
Bakugou whimpers. He uses Kirishima’s hair to guide his mouth up into another kiss, no less desperate or hot. He tilts his head, drawing Kirishima deeper into the kiss, before pulling back to whisper against Kirishima’s lips. “I love your knot, love when it’s plugging me up, all your cum stuffed deep inside of me-”
Kirishima groans, eyes fluttering.
“You know what I love even more?” Bakugou asks.
“What?” Kirishima responds, body leaning even closer against Bakugou, eyes drifting down to Bakugou’s throat and chest.
“If you would just tell me what has gotten into you.”
Kirishima stiffens, before slowly looking up to meet Bakugou's eyes. Bakugou raises an eyebrow. Kirishima sighs. “I’m not getting any today am I?”
Bakugou raises his palm, his hand glowing. “Nope,” he says, popping the p.
~
After about another week and a half of this, Bakugou is done waiting. If the usual game isn’t going to get the job done, then he’s going to have to force Kirishima to tell him.
He is going to fucking break Eijirou if it kills him.
~
Bakugou stretches out, humming to himself. He has two meetings he needs to go to later today, but he rarely has this time to just sit back and relax.
Of course, relaxing for him means he’s still doing something. That something being yoga out in the living room.
He slowly moves his body from position to position, enjoying the slight burn. His ears perk up at the sound of the door opening, but besides that, he ignores his boyfriend, instead focusing on shifting his legs into the next position.
“Hey, babe, I brought lunch home,” Kirishima calls from the front door, where Bakugou knows he’s taking off his shoes before moving deeper into the house. “I thought we could eat together before you have to go- ach .”
Bakugou hides his smirk, shoulders shifting as he stands up. “Hey mutt, what’d you get?” He looks over his shoulder, showing his teeth at the sight of Kirishima standing frozen in the living room doorway, bags of food dangling in his hands.
Kirishima audibly swallows. “Uh, what are you doing?”
Bakugou snorts, turning away and moving to the next position. “What does it fucking look like? Yoga.”
“Yeah, but, um-”
“What? Does the cat have your tongue?”
“You’re naked,” Kirishima moans.
Bakugou looks down, as if this is his first time noticing his lack of clothes. “Huh. So I am.”
“ Why? ”
Bakugou shrugs. “Why not?” He bends down, his forehead touching his knees. He can practically feel the burn of Kirishima’s stare on his ass. “The sun is shining pretty bright today and you know how much I love to spread myself along the window sills to soak it up.”
His voice is practically a purr and he knows exactly what he’s doing, reminding the mutt of what happened the last time he was spread in front of the window, when Kirishima had been curled up behind him, both slowly rocking as the sun had warmed their skin.
Bakugou curls his tail, beckoning Kirishima’s eyes to follow along as he works his way through his routine. He can hear the other huff and panting, the mutt probably drooling.
“You’re torturing me here, Kat,” Kirishima says, sounding strangled.
“You know what you have to do if you want a piece of this,” Bakugou says. His hands, which had been wrapped around his ankle, slowly start to slide up his leg, gliding along the smooth skin.
“There’s nothing to-”
Bakugou shrugs, before turning around, coming face to face with Kirishima. He stalks his way forward, eyes half-lidded.
Kirishima might be holding his breath. Bakugou is pretty sure he’s not breathing.
And then Bakugou passes by him, brushing his shoulder, before heading up to their room. “Then I guess we’re done here. Let’s have lunch.”
The sound of Kirishima hitting his head on the wall echoes around the house.
~
Bakugou doesn’t do this often-
Ok, that’s a lie. He does do this quite often, but always in the privacy of their home. Rarely does he do it in public.
But by this point, he’s willing to pull out all the stops.
They’re back on patrol, walking around the 5th and 6th district, with the hot sun beating down on them. Bakugou curses. His gauntlets are already half-filled by this point, and he hasn't even done anything.
Kirishima taps on his shoulder, pointing to a stand selling water. They go over to buy some, only to have the vendor wave off their attempts to pay, thanking them instead for the jobs they do.
They go to stand to the side, in the shade, drinking their free water. Side-eyeing Kirishima, Bakugou casually leans against the wall and then pulls on the strap of his hero suit, as if he were trying to fan himself.
Kirishima glances over.
Then he does a double-take.
“Katsuki, no,” he says, almost in horror.
Bakugou innocently blinks at him. “What? I’m just drinking.”
But Kirishima is too focused on his bared shoulder to respond.
Bakugou looks down. “Oh, you mean the bra strap, huh? Yeah, I don’t know why, but I felt like dressing up a little today.” His fingers play with the baby blue strap, snapping it against his skin.
“Did-Is it a complete set?” Kirishima asks, tail wagging behind him, ears perking up.
Bakugou smiles, wide and all teeth. “Wouldn’t you like to find out.”
“You-you’re a monster,” Kirishima says.
Bakugou chuckles, pushing off the building. He rubs his head against Kirishima’s shoulder before pulling him back on patrol. “I know.”
~
It continues like that for the rest of the day, with Bakugou giving Kirishima little hints and peeks of the lingerie he wears underneath.
Kirishima follows after him, like a mutt on a leash, and more than once, walks into a civilian or doorway. Bakugou sits back and laughs at the way he goes red and sputters out excuses.
When they reach the agency, they both head back to the locker rooms to get changed out of their costumes. Bakugou barely passes the threshold, before he’s being grabbed, flipped, and pressed face first against the wall.
He sends a smirk at Kirishima. “What’s with you and manhandling me in locker rooms lately?”
Kirishima growls, low in his throat. “As if you don’t deserve it. You’ve been winding me up all fucking week.”
Bakugou bares his fangs. “And you haven’t been doing the same? I told you, Eijirou, all you have to do is tell me what’s been on your mind and then you can do whatever you want to me.”
Kirishima growls again, pressing close. He noses his way through Bakugou’s hair, huffing. “...I’m afraid you’ll think I’m weird or something.”
Bakugou pauses, before turning his head to rub it against Kirishima’s. “Eijirou, you never have to be afraid to talk to me about stuff. You know that, right?”
Kirishima drops his head against Bakugou’s shoulder, large arms wrapping around his waist. “I know but it’s...thoughts getting to me. Will you think it’s too weird, will you look at me differently, that sort of stuff.”
Bakugou reaches back to start to play with his hair. “You know I love you. You could say the weirdest shit to me and, maybe I might say the wrong thing at first, but nothing could ever make me stop loving you or thinking you’re too much for me.”
Kirishima is silent for a moment, squeezing tighter and inhaling Bakugou’s scent. Bakugou continues to play with his hair, fingers brushing against his ears, scratching right behind them in that secret spot that makes Kirishima melt.
“...M’ wanna breed you,” Kirishima finally mumbles.
Bakugou furrows his eyebrows. He feels Kirishima tense behind him and is quick to scratch that spot again, forcing him to relax. “Not that I’m saying it’s bad, but you know I can’t get pregnant right?”
“I know,” Kirishima says, still muttering into his shoulder. “I just...you know that girl, Doi? That you were playing with at last month’s charity function?”
“Yeah?”
“I saw you being all sweet with her and it was like I was suddenly hit with the image of you doing that to our daughter. And then other thoughts kept rolling in my head. You, holding our child. You, feeding out child. You, round with our child. And that eventually devolved into-”
“You trying to stuff as much of your cum into me as possible?” Bakugou asks.
Kirishima’s breath hitches. He digs his claws into Bakugou’s waist. “ Yessss . It’s consumed my thoughts. At this point, I don’t really care that you can’t have children, it’s all about the trying you know? I just want you to constantly sit on my knot, warm my cock, be a tight hot little cocksleeve.”
Bakugou bites his bottom lips, face flushing. “Damn, Eijirou. And you’ve been keeping this to yourself all this time?”
Kirishima lifts his head, catching Bakugou’s eyes. “You...you like that?”
Bakugou sniffs, looking away. “I mean, you’re the one whose saying all these dirty things. Of course I’m going to find that hot.”
Kirishima grins, pressing a kiss against Bakugou’s shoulder. Then he goes to whisper directly in Bakugou’s ear. “Yeah? You like the thought of you all fucked out on our bed, spread out, your hole wet and sloppy as I force my knot back in?”
Bakugou moans, low and heated. “You going to put a liter in me, mutt? Huh, you think you can?”
Kirishima rumbles, the sound vibrating deep in his chest, and Bakugou doesn’t have time to react before Kirishima bits into his neck, leaving a large mark. Bakugou whimpers, grinding his hips back. Kirishima takes advantage of that, moving Bakugou’s waist back so he can grind on his ass.
“I know I can. Going to keep you stuffed, make your tits all fat with milk.” One of his hands reaches up to cup one of Bakugou’s pecs.
“With that weak knot of yours?” Bakugou grits out, trying hard not to fall apart as Kirishima gropes him. “Good fucking luck.”
“You challenging me?” Kirishima asks.
“What do you think?”
Their eyes meet, sparks flying between them, both of their mouths pulling back to show off their fangs.
The door opens and they jerk apart. An intern peeks their head in, whistling before coming to a halt. They stop and stare at Bakugou and Kirishima, both of their costumes wrinkled and messed up, their hair wild.
“Um,” they say.
“Get the fuck out,” Bakugou screams, hands sparking.
The intern eeps, scrambling back and out the door.
Kirishima sighs. “Bakugou-”
“Don’t you fucking start,” Bakugou snarls. He runs a hand through his hair, huffing, before catching Kirishima’s eyes again. “You want to take a half-day and get the fuck home?”
“Gods, yes.”
~
They burst through the bedroom door, wrapped around each other, Bakugou climbing Kirishima like a tree. They’re not really kissing, more like they’re trying to eat each other’s mouths.
Bakugou groans, pulling back. "Fuck, Eijirou." His claws dig into the skin on Kirishima's shoulder, making the other hiss.
Kirishima practically throws Bakugou down on the bed, red eyes blazing. He's quick to get himself undressed, tripping on his costume in his hurry to throw it on the ground.
Bakugou is right behind him, shimmering out of his pants, trying to peel himself out of his top too, when Kirishima grabs his ankles and yanks him down. Bakugou lets out a little sound of surprise as he slides along the bed.
Kirishima crawls over him, slow and predatory, eyes glued to the panties Bakugou is wearing. Bakugou tilts his head, spreading his legs and fingering the lacy edges. “Do you like what you see? Want to unwrap me like the present I am?”
Kirishima licks his lips, grinning. “Fuck yeah, babe. I want to see the entire picture.” He lifts one of Bakugou’s legs, kissing the side of his knee. He slowly kisses his way up Bakugou’s thigh, keeping eye contact, before biting into the meaty flesh. Bakugou’s breath catches and then Kirishima’s soothing the sting with a kiss.
He repeats the pattern a few more times, leaving marks along the way, before reaching the bulge in his panties. He spreads Bakugou’s legs wider, nuzzling the covered dick, before biting on the edge of the panties, pulling down just enough for the tip of Bakugou’s cock to slip out. Kirishima gives the tip a lick, cleaning up the precum there.
Bakugou can’t tear his eyes away, little moans being ripped from his throat. Kirishima gives him grin before backing off. “Let me open my pretty present.” His large hands wrap around Bakugou’s waist, lifting the tight fabric of his shirt up to reveal Bakugou’s abs, then even higher. Inch by inch, blue fabric is exposed for Kirishima to drink in. It’s lacy and sheer, doing nothing to hide the way Bakugou’s nipples stand erect and waiting.
Kirishima, because he can’t help himself, pinches one of the pink buds. Bakugou arches into the touch, silently begging for more. Kirishima manages to get the rest of the shirt off, also throwing it to the side, his hand never leaving Bakugou’s chest.
Bakugou throws an arm across his face, face flushed and eyes narrowed. Kirishima’s tail is wagging a mile a minute, dick hard and heavy. “Come on, you mutt, I thought you were going to breed me? Are you going to break your promise?”
That gets him another pinch, making him hiss. “So impatient, my pretty kitty. Let me enjoy the way you look before we get to the fun stuff.”
Bakugou snarls. “That’s funny coming from yo- ah fuck .”
Kirishima hums, still twisting Bakugou’s nipple before twisting it to the other side. “That’s a little better. Keep making those pretty noises for me and maybe I’ll give you what you want.”
“Fuck- ah -you,” Bakugou hisses. He withers against the bed as Kirishima continues to play with his body, his other hand reaching down to give Bakugou’s cock light little stokes.
“My perfect cat, you’re going to look so good, all-round with my liter.” Kirishima leans down to give Bakugou’s stomach a chaste kiss. Bakugou wiggles.
“Eijirou, come on.”
“Someone’s needy. I haven’t even fingered you open and you’re already begging for me,” Kirishima says.
Bakugou flushes. "We've haven't had sex for nearly two damn months."
"And whose fault is that?"
"Yours."
"Hmmm, is that so?" Kirishima asks, fingers dancing along Bakugou’s inner thighs as he slowly pulls Bakugou’s panties down his legs. “I wasn’t the one who started the sex ban.”
Bakugou sneers. “Really? Who was it that kept their dirty little fantasies to themselves- fuck .” Bakguou’s body jerks as Kirishima’s fingers tap against his hole, wet with lube.
Kirishima chuckles. “You’re always so loud, babe.” He slowly pushes one finger in, wiggling it.
“Maybe, uh, maybe you’re just too fucking quiet,” Bakugou says, fingers digging into the mattress.
“Now we both know that’s a lie.” Kirishima adds another finger, scissoring. He licks his lips. “You look so delicious, spread out on my fingers. I can’t wait till it’s my knot that you’re splitting on.”
Bakugou moans, thrusting his hips down. “God damn, you’re fingers are so fucking big, Eijirou. Come on, fuck me already.”
Kirishima clicks his tongue. “Patience, Katsuki. I want you open for me, so my knot can just slide right in." He adds another finger, croaking them, pressing against that special place, and smirks as Bakugou's eyes widen.
And then he mewls.
They both still, Bakugou slapping a hand over his mouth, face twisted in horror.
"Did you just-"
"No!" Bakugou instantly denies, face going cherry red.
Kirishima can feel Bakugou's hands heating up. He moves fast, grabbing those tiny wrists in his hardened hands and slamming them on the mattress, right above Bakugou's head.
"You did," Kirishima breathes. "Do it again."
"What- no. Fuck no." Bakugou tries to thrash, but Kirishima straddles his hips, hardening his skin to make it heavier.
Kirishima leans in close, till their noses are almost touching. "I'm going to make you make that sound again, Katsuki."
Bakugou shudders, but he refuses to back down. "Is that a challenge?"
Before he can blink, he's being flipped over, arms pulled behind his back, chest and face pressed into the mattress, ass raised up. Kirishima palms his ass, a light touch, before giving it an echoing smack. Bakugou gasps, going still.
"That's a promise," Kirishima whispers directly into his ear. He gives the fluffy appendage a bite, two fingers shoving their way back inside, searching for Bakugou's prostate.
He knows he finds it when Bakugou's body jerks, Bakugou moaning low and long. But it's not the sound Kirishima wants. So he continues to press his fingers against it, milking Bakugou.
Bakugou is squirming, but with Kirishima's large body covering his and those hardened hands keeping his wrists pinned, there's nowhere for Bakugou to go.
Every time he moves, it just forces his hips back down on those thick fingers. It makes his cock throb, precum dripping freely. He whines, throwing his head back. "Eijirou."
Kirishima kisses his sweaty forehead. "Come on, Katsuki. You know what I want."
Bakugou shakes his head, ears twitching, tail curling and unfurling around Kirishima's wrist. "N-No."
Kirishima tisks, squeezing a third finger in, jabbing it against his prostate. Bakugou's eyes widen, mouth falling open. He pants, hole twitching.
"My pretty kitty, won't you make your sweet noises for me?" Kirishima continues to whisper in his ear.
"It's embarrassing," Bakugou practically yowls, hiding his face in his arms.
"Not if it's with me," Kirishima says, stopping momentarily. He nuzzles Bakugou's hair. "You have nothing to be embarrassed about if it's just me here, right?"
Bakugou bites his bottom lip. Kirishima doesn't move, allowing Bakugou time to think.
Finally, Bakugou sighs. Then, almost too soft to hear, he mewls.
Kirishima's grin splits his face. He kisses Bakugou again and starts moving his fingers. "Good boy, that's so lovely, yes please keep making those noises." He spreads his fingers. "Louder, kitty cat, louder."
Bakugou is shuddering, body beyond hot, as Kirishima fucks him open. His sounds of pleasure increase in volume, Kirishima encouraging him along the way.
It doesn't take long at all before he's coming against the bed, Kirishima's fingers still moving. He pants, little shivers of aftershock rocking through him.
When he comes back to himself, it's to the feeling of Kirishima rubbing his cock against his ass. He lazily grinds back. "Getting ahead of yourself, aren't you?" He mumbles. "I thought you were going to breed me?"
Kirishima bites into his shoulder, making Bakugou hiss. "If you can talk again, then I guess that means you're ready to be fucked."
Bakugou lifts his hips up, moving his tail out of the way to show off his stretched hole. "Come on Eijirou, fuck a litter into me."
Kirishima growls, low and heated. His cock presses against Bakugou's hole, sheathing himself inside that hot, wet heat. Bakugou cries out, the sound almost lost in the howl Kirishima let's out.
Kirishima wastes no time as he starts to thrust, hard and fast into Bakugou, hips slapping against his ass.
Bakugou whines, his moans being punched out of him with each thrust. Kirishima let's go of his wrists, his hand trailing down Bakugou's body to curl around his stomach.
"Can't wait to see you all fat with my seed. I'm going to make you sit on my knot all through your pregnancy."
"I want it, please Eijirou, please. Knot me, knot me."
"You're going to get your knot, patience." Kirishima brings Bakugou's hips up higher, so he can fuck into him deeper, his cock now slamming against Bakugou's prostate.
Bakugou is back to mewling, his cock growing hard again. He tears up the sheets, thrusting back against Kirishima. He can feel that fat knot bumping up against him, desperately trying to slip inside.
With every slam, Kirishima's knot spreads Bakugou open just a bit further, goes in just a bit deeper. Bakugou mewls and yowls through it, begging Kirishima with every other breath. His cock is fully hard by now, almost painfully so.
With one last, hard thrust, Kirishima pushes his knot fully in, locking them together. He snarls, biting into Bakugou's shoulder, hard enough to draw blood. One hand moves from his grip on Bakugou's waist to his cock, stroking him rough and fast.
Bakugou's eyes roll into his head, body going stiff. His orgasm is ripped out of him, joining his other release on the bed. He can feel warmth rushing into him as Kirishima cums, still slightly rolling his hips as Bakugou's hole milks him.
They stay like that for a minute or two, and then they collapse into the bed, boneless.
Kirishima turns them to the side, wiggling till they were in a more comfortable position as they wait for Kirishima's knot to deflate. Kirishima continues to pet and stroke Bakugou, singing him praises.
Bakugou shifts back slightly, settling into Kirishima's chest, hands drifting down to rest on his stomach. "So," he says after a moment. "Should we start looking at adoption agencies?"
Kirishima chokes.

It all started when I first wanted a service dog. I felt like I needed more help in the independence and friendship department.
I felt like I needed something to help me feel safer in public especially when I was with friends or by myself because of anxiety and paranoia I felt safer sticking close to my parents or friends and only leave them to go to my favorite section of stores, certain places I’ve been to multiple times on my own, or only walked around the block because it's the only route I have memorized and being afraid of getting lost if I went a different way.
I’ve loved dogs my whole life and have had them in the family for a long time. There was never a time where our house wasn’t filled with a dog or two but they were mostly terrier mixes never a purebred dog.
While terrier mixes are great, they have qualities that I personally don’t like. That’s why over a year ago, I started wanting a German Shepherd. I’d been wanting a service dog for the past few years. The organizations I’d applied to said I wasn’t qualified or I’d age out by the time I’d be able to get a dog.
So I decided owner training was the best and only option.
“Hey Mom, Dad”, Can I have a German Shepherd? A puppy?” I asked one day. I knew it was a long shot and they’d say no but I asked anyway.
“No puppies are a lot of work and they are a huge responsibility,” Dad told me. “Why do you want a puppy?” My mom asked.
“I want to train one as my service dog,” I told them.
My parents groaned. I had been wanting a service dog for awhile especially once I developed OCD, Anxiety, and having issues with making and keeping friends because of my Autism.
I knew that German shepherds don’t always make good service dogs, especially for what I’d need one for.
However, I was willing to research a good breeder and training places to help my dog succeed. Maybe the dog could one day be an agility sport dog too but before that, I had to pester my parents for a puppy.
I researched breeders, trainers, and everything I could. I found a breeder and a few dog training places during my free time. I’d make supply lists and read up on the breed. Using german shepherd books I owned and bought new ones for more information on how to properly handle them during the 1st 12 months of life. Eventually, in January my dad gave me a plan. “If you can get a job and raise the money yourself, you can get a dog,” he told me. “Thank you, thank you, thank you. I won’t let you down I promise.” I said excitedly, hoping I would be able to prove to my parents that I could get the money needed for my own dog. I started my job search immediately. I was able to get some interviews but wasn’t hired. I’d fill out job applications every chance I got or when I found a place to apply.
Then, COVID hit, and getting a job became so much harder. Unfortunately, the job search was already hard because of my disabilities. “I still can’t get a job. I’ve had successful interviews but no one contacts me back.” I said to my parents. “It’s ok Paige you’ll find a job just keep trying.” My dad said over and over again. It became so repetitive that I’ve got it drilled into my head.
“Ok, dad I’ll keep trying,” I told him even though I knew I was still going to be unsuccessful. I was right.
Coronavirus kept getting worse and spreading everywhere. I kept trying to apply for jobs and got a few interviews but that was it. I never heard back despite how well I thought I did in the interview but with each interview and no responses afterward, it hurt.
Then, we visited the breeder in March right as the stay-at-home order was put in place that weekend. It felt weird going somewhere when we were told to stay home. I decided to go with the breeder we visited. We talked about what kind of puppy would be best and Grant the breeder said a female puppy would be the best fit for me as it would be my first German shepherd. I picked out a great name for her Harper May.
A few months later on June 8th, my parents decided it was time to get a puppy because It was summertime and I had free time to work with a puppy. That day we decided. My puppy was born.
When we met her on July 25th we played with her and her sisters. I took videos and photos and was given lots of love bites/kisses. They were all happy and healthy and loved all the attention. They smelled clean because they’d all had baths and were happily loving the attention they got afterward. We decided to go with the white collar of the litter.
We brought her home on August first and I’ve been working with her ever since.
Puppies are a huge responsibility and I knew that from the beginning. Despite this, I had the puppy blues for a few days after she arrived and was biting and going to the bathroom in the house. I was worried that I wasn’t doing enough to help her become a good dog.
“That’s called the puppy blues.” my mom said one day as I came over to her one morning. I nodded. I didn’t want to worry her but I knew she was right.
“I’m just worried I’m not doing enough to help her,” I said.
“You’ll figure it out in time. It takes a lot of work.” Mom reminded me.
Since Harper is my dog, I do almost everything with her. I feed her, train her, and walk her. She’s doing well so far and I can’t wait to continue this amazing journey with her.
She’ll be a great working dog someday.
She's taught me a lot about responsibility as a dog owner and the importance of doing what’s best for both her and myself. I make sure to stay up to date with the American Kennel Club to know what to do as a responsible dog owner and I’m glad to get the experience now instead of waiting until I’m on my own. Harper is my first purebred dog and the first dog I have that’s registered with the AKC (American Kennel Club), and I hope that I can raise her to be a healthy, happy working, and sport dog. I’m learning a lot about taking care of something that isn’t a bad attempt at caring for myself. I’m learning how to properly care for a dog and myself. I’m grateful I get to work with Harper and to help her become the greatest dog she can be.

I don’t trust Kat to give you context, so I’ll do it this time.
I decided to write something based on some stuff we were talking about. I don’t have the most confidence and this is more related to her stuff anyways, so while convincing me to post it, she offered to host it here. This has the added bonus of it being HER that hits post, limiting my chance to chicken out.
So enjoy this out of context thing I wrote because Kat is a bad influence.

Eleanor knew she was an artist from a young age. From the moment she took he first picture she knew she’d found her calling. Other girls played dolls, she focused on posing them. She took photos of everything, always looking for something she hadn’t seen before. She got bored often and nothing frustrated her more than having nothing interesting to photograph.
From a young age she was hailed as a prodigy. Her eye was so unique, and she had a knack for finding things and making them interesting, things nobody realized could be that interesting. So, she had no trouble getting a start at a studio.
She hated family portraits. She hated them with a passion. They always wanted the same straight on angle and it was so painfully boring. They were frustrating to work with, they were all the same stiff smiles, one shot no different than the next. No talent or expression. She’d outright refuse them if they weren’t keeping the lights on.
She was ready for another grueling photoshoot that brought no fulfillment and wasted her talents. This family had an unruly kid.
Eleanor never really go the appeal of kids. They were loud and needy and usually a mess. They did provide more interest than their parents though. The boy screamed randomly at one point, much to his parents, aunts, uncles, and grandparents’ dismay.
He laughed at their frowns and Eleanor captured it. The emotions and dynamics were the most interesting thing she’d gotten so far.
The boy got lectured by his mom and pouted. The adults were back to their static smiles, but he displayed his emotions, not looking at the camera or standing straight. Eleanor captured that too, focusing on the boy’s emotional journey.
The adults got frustrated with him as he fidgeted, and their smiles dropped. His mother pulled him aside and screamed at him. He shrunk down and started to cry. She captured it.
Then she hugged him, telling him that she loved him and just needed him to behave. Eleanor captured her favorite shot of the shoot. It was a photo she’d have framed and hung in her house for years to come and would be her favorite for a long time.
This child, crying and filled with shame, clinging to his mother, comforted by the very cause of his tears. The vulnerability, the emotions, the submission, it was all something Eleanor hadn’t seen before.
The rest of the shoot went normally, the kid even having some real fun by the end, but Eleanor never forgot how that mother had the power to control her child’s emotions like that.
Family portraits stopped being so boring after that day. Eleanor stopped focusing on trying to make something worthwhile within the stifling constraints, and instead focused on how much power mothers had over the children. How if Eleanor needed something from them, the mother would provide it. Telling the child directly rarely worked but asking the mother to tell the child always did. It was like they weren’t interacting with the world as their own beings, they could only understand what was filtered through their mothers. Eleanor became obsessed with that power. The power to control another’s reality like that. A mother was her child’s whole world, and she could shape that world as she pleased.
Eventually her artistic work gained enough of a following that she never had to do a family portrait again, much to her relief. She hated working through the mothers. She may’ve been fascinating with their power over their children, but she wanted to have her own and constantly borrowing theirs was getting irksome. She wanted to shape her own worlds, and not have to work around the worlds these women had already shaped.
She still didn’t want a baby though. She wanted the control of her subject being a mother brought, not a child to raise.
Her dilemma sent her on a path to find others like her, a path that led to a private online forum. It was full of people like her, people that were obsessed with controlling, with shaping a world and having total power over it. She finally had people that understood what was going on in her head. Not all of them approached it from the same angle as her, but they all wanted to control a subject. She made good friends.
Itssnowing: have you thought about a pet?
SkullsandRibbons: maybe….
Itssnowing: Get a pretty little thing and train it. I know where you can get a lovely little purebred. It might fill the hole.
Eleanor took her friend up on his suggestion and got Lucy.
At first Eleanor was happy to have a new subject, but quickly she got frustrated. Lucy didn’t listen. She couldn’t get Lucy to do what she wanted, and all of her shots were off center or blurry because Lucy refused to hold a position.
Itssnowing suggested she send her off to get trained and Eleanor again, took his advice.
It worked. Lucy came back ready to obey orders. Eleanor was delighted for about a month and a half.
Then Lucy got boring. She looked the same as any other pure breed. She had the same few emotions and responses; the interest ran out. Eleanor ran out of new things to capture. She hated taking repeats of shots she already had.
Lucy was sold.
Itssnowing: Why? I would love having something so pretty in my house. A living, breathing piece of art that’s just for you.
SkullsandRibbons: Why would I want something I can see anywhere? There’s nothing new about it. Nothing unique. Nothing raw! Nothing new to see. It’s boring!
Itssnowing: I guess I’m just boring then. I’d much rather a quiet afternoon at home with a pretty little thing snuggled on my lap.
SkullsandRibbons: Well you’re an office worker, I’m an artist! I need something fulfilling!
Itssnowing: Suit yourself then.
SkullsandRibbons: I’m gonna go to the shelter tomorrow, see if they had anything interesting.
Itssnowing: You want a MUTT!?
SkullsandRibbons: Absolutely! No two are identical. I might actually capture something unique!
Itssnowing: I don’t understand you… but I suppose I don’t have to understand your tastes.
Eleanor laughed at her friend. She shared almost everything with Snowing. He got all the shots she took of her new rescue. He even admitted that the pictures were marvelous, though he still had his own tastes.
Eleanor got bored too easily. She decided to foster, so that she’d get a different subject every once and a while. She definitely preferred the rescues over Lucy. They all had stories and intrigue and were far more dependent on her attention. She could brighten them right up with a little affection, and then destroy them by ignoring them for a minute. Best was that she could do it all over again and it still worked.
But dogs got boring. She needed something fresh, something entirely unique, something that screamed at her to be captured and focused on.
She was browsing the internet one day and a headline caught her interest. She’d vaguely heard about the ninja, but she hadn’t actually seen any real pictures yet, so she clicked the article just to see what kind of pictures it had.
The green ninja made her eyes roll. Scared boy trying too hard to look strong and important and nothing else. A few candid shots had potential, but he seemed to only be himself when he didn’t know he was being seen, which would be pointless to explore with a camera.
The white ninja made her cringe. He had nothing to give. Well, the interesting anatomy could be worked with, but the ninja himself was a stiff subject that had nothing to see.
The blue ninja was all energy, no form. She could probably get some good shots, but it would get very one note after a short while.
The black ninja at least seemed to know how to hold himself, though he didn’t seem to have any interest in being a good subject. He’d make a decent model for brand work, but he’d be worthless in any artistic projects.
The girl was a brat. She refused to be a subject. It was a non-starter.
It was the red ninja that made her stop breathing. Then she boiled over in rage.
He was…He was perfect. He was gorgeous. He had an effortless look with just enough edge to make you want to know more. He was stunning, and the framing was the worst she’d ever seen!
They focused on the complete wrong place, and the lighting was just….oh it burned her. Here was this boy being the perfect subject, all the stars aligned, and the photographer ruined it!
She searched him up, she had to know what he looked like when he was given the attention he deserved.
Kai Smith.
She found his social media and started to scroll through. He posted his own pictures and he had no training in photography, but at least he wasn’t ruining anything. She poured over each selfie. His eyes burned with mischief and passion, his face had beautiful angles no matter which way he turned, and he seemed to love being observed. He was preforming. Giving pieces of himself for others to see. Eleanor continues to scroll and fantasized about capturing those pieces and propping them up correctly. She could make something magical out of him. His expressions told stories, he wore his emotions like jewels and Eleanor had to know more.
She spent the next week obsessing over everything she could learn about Kai Smith, her new muse. And she found something she hated even more than boring subjects, seeing someone mishandle a beautiful subject like Kai.
They all were too focused on Lloyd, who looked uncomfortable half the time he was on camera.
Nya wasn’t always an awful subject; she seemed a lot more willing to be captured if her brother was there with her.
She was right about Cole. He had the training, but no passion for it.
Jay was an attention hog and she found herself annoyed with him. Too overpowering, he didn’t leave the artist any room to work.
Zane was everything she thought he was. No surprises there.
But Kai…
The pictures where he was angry were the best. He had such a raw emotion. He let everyone see how he felt and let the image have the power of what he felt. He let his soul be seen.
She learned all she could about him.
He had a tragic backstory. Something with teeth, no wonder he had a touch of a wounded look. He had no mother to shape the world for him. This interested Eleanor even more. Kai seemed to have filtered the world for his little sister, and seemingly Lloyd too, but he seemed to lack anyone that could reshape his world as they saw fit.
He was wayward child.
The thought made Eleanor smile. Kai had no mother to compete with. There was no woman she’d have to fight with to take control of his world. He was what she had wanted so desperately. A beautiful and interesting subject she could control.
Oh, how she’d love to have him.

Marona’s Fantastic Tale (2019, France)
Before delving into the thick of this review, I have a few personal biases to reveal. First, I am not a “dog person”, let alone a “pet person”. I understand why people adore dogs, but I have long been uncomfortable around them – small, energetic ones especially. In addition, I tend to view the subgenre of animal movies (dogs, cats, horses, etc.) as littered with saccharine, but nevertheless watchable, dreck. Reading back those last few sentences, you may conclude that I am describing a heartless monster that should not be trusted with living things. So be it.
Anca Damian’s Marona’s Fantastic Tale, also known by its original French title L'extraordinaire Voyage de Marona, avoids the common traps of this subgenre. It, too, happens to be an animated film. Damian, a Romanian-French filmmaker, has previously only directed two animated features, both documentaries: Crulic – The Path to Beyond (2011, Romania/Poland) and The Magic Mountain (2015, Romania/Poland/France). She is, foremost, a dramatist concerned with humanist ideas and values. Damian and screenwriter Anghel Damian (her son) treat the title character – also called three other names – as maturely as any human character in this film, where other filmmakers in this subgenre might only do so superficially, to elicit obligatory “awws”. Marona’s Fantastic Tale artfully depicts the perspective of its canine star through the chapters of her life. These life chapters are laden with ambiguous resolutions and important conversations and decisions withheld from the viewer – moments where love, responsibility, and survival intertwine or clash.
The film begins with the female dog’s death. She (voiced by Lizzie Brocheré) has been hit by a car, and narrates the rest of the film, framed as a recollection of her most potent memories. Her first given name is “Nine”, as she is the last of nine puppies between a mixed-breed dog and a purebred Dogo Argentino. Nine is shortly adopted and immediately abandoned. As a stray, she is adopted by a struggling acrobat named Manole, and given the name “Ana”. Happy though their initial time together may be, Ana recognizes she is an impediment to his financial situation, and runs away. Slumbering at a construction site, she is grateful for the warmth of architect Istvan, who always brings her food. Istvan, who calls her “Sara”, eventually brings her home to his manipulative wife who abhors Sara. Lastly, our protagonist will be adopted by a little girl named Solange, who names her “Marona” (from the French word marron, meaning brown; I will refer to the protagonist by her final name for the remainder of this review). Solange’s overworked single mother and irascible grandfather oppose the impromptu adoption for differing reasons, but eventually accept the new addition to their household.
I may not know much French, but Lizzie Brocheré (The Magic Mountain, 2017′s Rings) is a wonderful narrator. At least half of the film’s lines come from Marona narrating her unfolding life. In her voice, Brocheré captures numerous emotions: joy, regret, indignity, confusion, yearning. Marona, whose understanding of the world is similar to that of a young child, is devoid of enmity – even when faced with humans showing little concern or dismissive of her well-being. The film keeps Marona’s narration to a certain register, leaving the greatest narrative subjectivity to the film’s visuals and not Marona herself. Marona’s narration reveals how she interprets the world around her:
[Dogs] want things to stay exactly as they are... Humans always want what they don't have. They call it dreaming. I call it not knowing how to be happy.
Marona’s Fantastic Tale employs various animation styles in ways that may not feel sensible at first. Humans do not look like humans. They come in all colors of skin (blue, green, incomplete black crayon upon white construction paper etc.) and impossible figures (Manole, the acrobat drawn in yellow and red stripes, has stretchable, tubular limbs that any real-life acrobat would envy; other characters appear anything but humanoid). The most conventionally “human”-drawn characters in Damian’s film are those closest to Marona during her life – namely Istvan, Solange, and Solange’s mother. Marona, and the viewer, find comfort in these familiarly-shaped humans. Istvan’s predominant blue skin is a cool color, contrasting against his wife’s vaguely ostrich-like yellow-and-black appearance – attributes shared by her gossiping and materialistic lady friends, all of whom may need to see the doctor for possible jaundice. Like any animation director, Damian uses the character animation in this film to code viewers’ perceptions on a character. But the abstraction of Marona’s Fantastic Tale means she and her animators can further exaggerate characters’ physical aspects and experiment with color. The film’s backgrounds are a mesmerizing interplay of hand-drawn and CGI animation. Depending on where the camera is approaching, the apparently 2D backgrounds might unfold into layers of CGI, and vice versa.
These effects are bewildering. They appear as one might imagine a small dog might understand humanity’s vastness of appearance and personality, as well as the sprawling natural and man-made world they occupy.
youtube
Even more abstract through Marona’s eyes are the concepts of memory and time. On occasion, Damian has Marona reminisce about her past – an abstract flashback within a larger flashback. That past is filled with heartache – of being separated from her litter, her multiple abandonments. But in the confusion of understanding human motivation, Marona’s unconditional love for her mother and siblings and those who have taken care of her shines through. Hers is a melancholic loyalty, abiding despite abandonment. Time’s passage in the film is linear but inconsistent, leaving the viewer to make inferences for themselves. As a being with a short life, Marona has little time to find the most fulfilling, profound moments of her life in things that a human might deem mundane (in an occasionally funny piece of narration, she says, “A good sense of smell is worth a thousand words.”)
Every human in Marona’s Fantastic Tale is beset with character flaws and, with the exception of Manole, difficult familial lives. Their flaws may manifest themselves towards Marona, other humans, or both. Marona observes human frustration, jealousy, and pettiness and can always sense the unspoken tension that precedes a fateful action. Here, the film plays out not only as a simple flashback, but as a sort of dying wish. Marona, who we know is dying or is en route to what happens after death, appeals to the viewers without so much directly addressing them. It is an appeal for understanding: to realize our personal faults and to exemplify the consideration and goodwill that makes living worthwhile.
Some Western viewers might be irked that Marona dies in the film and that her death does overhang the proceedings. (They may be too accustomed to the excessively manipulative and stereotypical death fake-out so common in dog movies. Picture, if you will: a dog is shown to be in peril, the human characters hang their hands down acknowledging the likelihood of a dog’s death, but there is sudden uplift when, against all odds, the dog protagonist comes over the hill or rounds the corner and leaps into the arms of his caretakers.) But Anca and Anghel Damian have taken care to ensure that Marona’s death is handled as non-sensationally and abstractly as the rest of the film. Morbid it is not. That is no easy feat for any filmmaker, whether working in a live-action or animated format.
Marona’s Fantastic Tale does assume some life experience and contains presumed moments of cruelty, so I would hesitate to show the film to very young children. But the film should play well to slightly older children and, of course, open-minded adults. Marona’s Fantastic Tale is a film concerned about how time claims all, how dogs and humans might leave behind an example of love that sustains even in our darkest moments. That it does so convincingly through Marona drives this film’s beauty.

bro you gotta tell me more about chris
Gladly! The dad man is important to me. And so, we meet…
Christopher “Chris” Lewis Joseph, personification of Eastern Oregon/Nyo!Oregon
Credit to crikadelic, who will not be tagged in this post for reasons.
Physical Description
At 5′10, with dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, and a slightly olive skin tone, Chris is a very good looking man. He’s got well trimmed facial hair that can be a bit scruffy and thin, but he maintains it well. He’s well muscled from his work as a cattle rancher, and general farmwork. He is half Nez Perce (Nimiipuu) and half English, born in the area of present day Joseph, Oregon in 1806, and celebrates his birthday on February 14th.
Chris’s face claim is model Julian Schratter. He has no voice claims at the moment.
Personality
Christopher and Beverly were cut from the same cloth in some respects. Controlling either of them is nearly impossible. He’s a force of nature when he wants to be, stubborn and insistent and nearly impossible to be forced to do something he refuses to do. He’s as free-spirited and wild as he wants to be.
At the same time, he shows a remarkable degree of caution and thoughtful behavior that his twin sister tends to lack. If not caught in an urgent situation or in his own whirlwind of passions, he approaches things with well-thought out responses and is a calm and collected and highly intelligent man. He’s a great person to go to for advice.
He’s also very attached to those he forms close relationships with, either as family or friends. He’ll always have his twin sister’s back, and anyone who finds themselves in the position of being “adopted” as his child has just gained an ally and parental figure who will love them and defend them endlessly. Although, dispute it as he does, he does have a favorite child (Adam).
Sexuality and Gender
Behold, the one and only heterosexual cisgender OC I’ve made for my States. Chris is an incredible ally however, who openly supports all his friends and family.
Also, his type of women is as follows, so I promise you can trust him.
And he means it.
Religion
Chris has a personally styled fusion between Christianity and the indigenous religions he was raised around on the Columbian Plateau. He is not really big on explaining his faith as it’s a deeply personal and conflicting matter even for himself, so I don’t have much more to say than that for him. However, one of his two most irreplaceable objects he owns is a copy of Henry Harmon Spalding’s translation of the Book of Matthew into Nez Perce. Take from that what you will.
Employment
Chris has previously made his living as a farmer and for a brief while as a blacksmith, but nowadays, he owns a cattle range and is a full-time rancher, with a large range area in Central/Eastern Oregon. He also raises horses on the side, both as a secondary income and to continue traditions of horse breeding he was raised in with the Nez Perce.
Pets
I’ll try to keep this brief, but Chris has seven animals he considers close pets/his long lifespan has affected theirs, so I’ll divide it into sections.
Dogs
Zip and Lucky
Zip is Chris’s working dog, a purebred blue heeler who knows how to move a cow herd as well as he knows that when Chris puts on dark and clean pants, he’s leaving the house for meetings (sadness) and when he puts on less nice “farm” pants, they’re working stock that day (happiness!)
Lucky is based on Rincon, the dog owned by Chris’s faceclaim. Lucky is a beloved pet mutt and gets to come with Chris and Zip to work cattle, although his main job is to sit and stay since he has zero Cow Sense.
Horses
Jackrabbit, Strawberry, Juniper, and Celilo
Is Chris a dog or cat person? Neither, he’s a horse person (followed by dogs).
Jackrabbit is Chris’s horse he’s had the longest, serving as Chris’s warhorse during his youth. He’s one of the fastest horses any of the western states own, and he’s very selective about who’s allowed to ride him (Christopher, Beverly, Adam, and Helen are the only people who can). He’s a wild tempered buckskin Nez Perce Horse stallion.
Strawberry is a red roan Appaloosa that Chris has had nearly as long as he’s had Jackrabbit. She’s a gentle mare and very good with people.
Juniper is a Kiger Mustang mare, slightly more testy than Strawberry, and more prone to being spooked, but she’s a good horse.
Celilo is a palomino American Quarter Horse gelding, bought to be a reliable pack-horse for Chris. He’s as gentle as Strawberry and loves people.
Jackrabbits
Little Lady or “Lady”
Once upon a time, Chris and Juniper accidentally spooked a mother jackrabbit into the claws of a hawk, and then nearly immediately found her babies. Chris raised the three kits and released them into the wild shortly afterwards, but Lady stuck around his house. She appears pretty reliably every year, and seems to have been affected by his long lifespan, so he gave her a name and treats her a bit more like a pet than anything else.
He loves to joke that Jackrabbit met an actual jackrabbit, and everyone around him glares at him.
Relationships with other States
Family first
Western Oregon/Oregon
Credit to crikadelic again.
Sometimes, your twin sister is a lumberjack lesbian (quite literally on both counts) with arms made of steel and one hell of a right hook. Also she’s way more liberal than you, and politically you get dragged along with whatever she wants.
Ironically, once upon a time, Beverly wasn’t the main personification of the Oregon Territory. It wasn’t until American settlement picked up that the power of the state swung to her. Before then, Christopher held most of the power, but this was also when the Oregon Territory including all of Washington, Idaho, parts of Montana and Wyoming, and since Chris was entirely east of the Cascades, well, it made sense that he held the upper hand. Only later as the size of the land they represented shrank did power trade hands.
As independent as Beverly is, and as willing to tell her twin to fuck off, they have a very close relationship. They tell each other off, and sparks fly between them quite often, with Beverly usually being the one to storm off while Chris remains a wall of a human being. But they’ll quietly make up out of sight later, and then be right back to joking around and teasing each other.
And when it comes to advice, Beverly has no closer confidant than her twin, and often shows him the vulnerability that no one else sees. They trust each other implicitly, knowing that despite their differences, they won’t lead the other astray. No one could ask for a better twin sister.
Eastern Washington/Nyo!Washington
Credit to ME!
First off, he’s the one on the right, the one on the left is Idaho (we’ll get to him in a bit).
Adam Landes-Bush is the original cause of a radiation of dad energy that seeps from Christopher at pretty much every moment of every day. After retrieving Adam from the Whitman Mission shortly after the Whitman Massacre, Chris basically said “My weird looking white kid now” and ran with it.
He and Adam had to learn to live together fast with help from Helen, as Adam is mute, and Helen taught them both Plains Sign Talk. But Chris adored Adam and taught him how to shoot, hunt, ride, and accepted his limitations when he hit them. He did his best to give Adam a good life, even when it meant sending him away from impending war to live with Martha, who he barely knew then.
They remain close, sharing more culturally with each other and Idaho than they sometimes do with the western halves of their states. Chris was the first person Adam came out to, and the fact that Chris instantly accepted allowed him to embrace his identity as a gay man in a time that it was socially, at best, simply not talked about. Chris would and has killed to protect this boy, and would gladly do so again.

Martha, Adam’s younger sister, views Christopher as a father figure, and so, in turn, he’s a little nicer to her than he is to Beverly sometimes.
Christopher and Martha met at a crossroads in both their lives. Christopher had been involved in the Nez Perce War and come home feeling lost and alone. Beverly had taken off around the same time to run wild in the Southwest, leaving a still very young Martha to fend for herself and Clark, and now Adam. Martha was struggling to handle the load, and Christopher needed to find his place in this unfamiliar world, and fast.
They were able to cooperate quickly, Chris taking on the workload of the farm and helping with Clark, allowing Martha and Adam to start growing and learning the responsibilities they needed to run a state. And in exchange, Martha taught Chris how to read and write English, and helped him improve his skills in speaking the language.
To this day, they haven’t forgotten this point in their lives, and tend to critique each other much more carefully than they critique the other halves of their states.
End of Family, onto other states

Ah, Clark Ashley, who exists in the most interesting little place in Chris’s mind. He’s friends with this guy, almost a father figure, hell, helped raise the little twerp. At the same time, he’s made Adam cry before, so he could also wring his neck.
Clark and Chris have a very good and amiable relationship in general, and enjoy the other’s company. Clark admires Chris a lot, and Chris views him like a much younger version of Beverly, carrying many of her same qualities of extreme stubbornness and rampant emotions, as much as Clark will say he’s nothing like her.
However, the root of Chris’s constant problems with Clark relies mainly on one fact. Clark’s internalized homophobia at himself that affects his and Adam’s relationship, which has swayed from deeply involved romance to barely tolerating being in the same room. When Clark and Adam get into spats with their push me, pull you, almost a relationship, Chris gets caught in the middle, and always takes Adam’s side in the fight. He’s tried to even discourage them from pursuing each other at times to end the constant back and forth, but it’s never worked.
However, as Clark’s started to accept himself in the 21st century, Chris has been the one person who’s been able to reassure him that , yes, for some crazy reason, Adam still likes you, and Chris thinks that this time, for real, Clark is unlearning the toxic culture he absorbed. So, he wishes that crazy kid lots of luck.

To say Roberto and Christopher are antagonistic would be the nicest way of putting it. Despite pretty much being of equal levels of importance to Beverly in her family, they cannot tolerate each other.
Roberto blamed Christopher for some of the worst of Beverly’s behaviors in the 1870s and 1880s, and Christopher blamed Roberto for stifling Beverly so much that she hadn’t been able to emotionally mature. Both arguments had some validity, and yet, a divide in opinions had begun.
Nowadays, Chris and Roberto are mainly antagonistic on pure principle. Chris represents a part of Oregon that is noticeably more red, and Roberto represents 55 blue electoral college votes. Chris has been considerably affected by Californication (large real estate development projects generally seen as similar to those in California), and Roberto sees him as very set in the past and unable to move forward.
Let’s just say Beverly has to work out the holiday seating arrangements very carefully.
Montana

Helen Rankin has been a friend since Chris met her when the Nez Perce went to trade with the Crow. She taught him sign, became an unofficial mother figure to Adam, and, much later on, officially involved with Christopher himself (they dated from 1898 to 1927).
They’re close friends and allies still. Helen’s as strong as a mountain in more ways than one, and one of the few people who can sway Chris when he’s a storm of emotions. She can be just as stubborn as him, and yet he admires her just as she is, and she feels the same about him. She’s saved his ass so many times, and he’s saved hers a few himself. If they needed the other there, they’d be there in a heartbeat.
They also additionally have an “unofficial” daughter to accompany their unofficial son in Adam. I’ve been developing a Missoula, Montana OC (Mariah Welch), and she’s been heavily influenced by Chris over the years, and is about as damn close to him as Adam.
A quick note
Before I move on to my next section, I have been tinkering with my canon in the last several months, after a friend who had allowed me to entwine my Statetalia canon very heavily with theirs ghosted me, and this has affected this character significantly.
Christopher had been involved with their Nyo!Texas in the modern day, with Helen as his best friend. However, no longer comfortable with using this person’s OCs, I have yet to decide if Chris and Helen have, in the last few years, rekindled their relationship, or if my own Texas OC, who is a woman and in the earliest stages of development, is in a romantic relationship with him. This is going to take a long while to decide for personal reasons, and I’m okay with that.
Other States-Brief Thoughts
Northern California/Nyo!California- Inexplicably, he likes Alejandra way more than Roberto. Probably because of their little side project for the independent state of Jefferson.
Kansas- Nowhere near as antagonistic as Beverly and Evelyn’s relationship. He will agree with Evelyn to a certain point, but then he has to start defending his sister. Anyhow, she’s cute.
Nebraska- Logan’s a decent guy to have a drink with, definitely would have been a good guy for Adam if Adam hadn’t been so focused on Clark. IF he and Helen don’t end up getting back together in canon, he’s lowkey pushing for Helen and Logan to get together.
New York- Literally irrelevant to him, why are you asking for an opinion on that jackass?
Texas- Absolutely one amazing, ass-kicking woman, with the gift of aim from the gods, a smoking hot body, and God, she could step on him frankly. (I reiterate, my Texas OC is in development and this is subject to change).
RANDOM FACTS
-Sniper man! Christopher has served as a sniper for several wars. The Nez Perce were noted marksmen during the Nez Perce War, and one of the US’s most noted snipers was from Eastern Oregon.
-Additionally, Christopher has always served in the US Marine Corps when he’s been fighting for the US.
-He originally was given the same last name as Beverly, Joseph-Astor. He dropped Astor following the Nez Perce War as an act of protest.
-Chris has two “paired” names from when I created his character. Beverly’s middle name is Columbia, so Christopher and Columbia, after Christopher Columbus (something neither of them is very thrilled about nowadays), and his middle name of Lewis pairs with Idaho’s first name, Clark, in honor of that famous expedition.
-Has a knife that was from Lewis and Clark’s Corps of Discovery as a trading item. It’s his second most irreplaceable object.
-Speaks Nez Perce (Niimi'ipuutímt), Chinook Jargon, Crow, Plains Sign Talk, ASL, Russian, German, Spanish, Basque, and English.
-Has the most currently established tattoos out of any of my OCs.
