so many people came to see me!! and recognized my art from tumblr/twitter and every time I felt like dropping dead on the spot from the sheer happiness, peeps came to chat about the charms, the doggos, the TAZ content and even the Icarus tales stuff?????? im so f***king floored by the support yall

Haha its fine! Im book anon for a reason so take all the time you need! Before I start, I wanna apologize for the possible asks you got about the merch and hybe in general. I didn't intend to cause stress and need to be careful bdjahdsj so slap me with a fish!

Onto the ask! But agreed, I mean before the big kpop boom we saw, this was very common. Build a decent fanbase and then move to Japan or China. (Of course sometimes you see INSTANT movement in other countries but that depends on the company and such but you know what I mean) but since we do have the more global kpop era, we may see more companies do America which isn't a bad thing. It makes sense buisness wise so they will jump on it after debut or something. Thus I don't see it a bad thing for kpop groups to promote in America because hey, if in Korea they do sell western artist music who also tour there, kpop groups can also do the same ya know?

Now onto the hybe comment, I will try not to speak too much on it so I will try to summarize. I think my theory is due with merch from their main artist, they think maybe it could work with svt which maybe could but svt has a different fanbase so throwing on random merch won't make fans really want to buy (not saying some won't which kudos to you! As a fan you are allowed to consume what you please except not be a bad apple about it) so thus like the infamous water bottles which was done for bts, they thought why not do it for svt because bts fans sold it out apparently for a 2nd wave of it being sold again. (Which to this day idk why someone in the hybe team thought this was smart. Like...this is just in bad taste imo) I do wanna agree that it appears that hybe doesn't seem to have a proper art team for svt because while sometimes wild, I do know for their main artist they do have thoughtful merch based around say an album concept I recall. Kf course they will make mistakes i.e. the water bottles. I do wish it can improve because even though it is capitalism, I think fans do want decent merch. We have seen interesting ideas like svt making their own magazine and selling it lol. Of course it is hard to please because some fans want subtle merch ideas while others don't mind the vibrant pastel colors we got or some want wild ideas like svt figurines or something. Overall I hope I didn't drag this too much as I just wanted to respond back to you, I agree with many points you said so yeah cx I say let's also wait as this is barely what, a year or even less of svt being under hybe properly. Especially when hybe had its rebranding and expanding so things are being changed, I know fans are worried about this which is valid but let's not panic just yet. Let's come back in a year to this and see what has improved and what hasn't. (OK but peldis sold the boys rings!? :o since when!? I haven't heard of this actually, when did this happen if I may ask?)

Oof yeah sadly with streaming, many view "oh you don't stream it means you aren't a fan" when isn't the case (which is why I personally don't like when certain companies also do "listening parties" which seems a bit ???) I do remember this popped up big in 2017 but many fans called it out so it quiet down a bit. Like we didn't see it so often where fans were causing problems over it so idk why this returned nor what the cause of it was.

But thank you!! It really was a nice closing chapter, I think when I have personal stuff settled I will try maybe get a new bunny? And oohh congrats on the album! (Note to hybe or pledis. Please make the us store a more common thing, it makes things so much easier! Am happy it was at your place quick so kudos to the us store. Oohh wonderful choices! I think for many fans anyone or heaven's cloud seems to be the popular picks? For me, I may have to say game boi or heaven's cloud as well! Those songs make me just so happy? Like game boy is just so creative with the way it was made. As a video game nerd, it is perfection. I could make an essay about this song lol and heaven's cloud is just...wow. I feel so at ease with the song, comfortable and soothed. Like you are on a cloud lol. Also that is totally fine! Rtl was a grower for me (I blame the mv, it didn't do the song jusitice) but it is a bop and can't stop humming the chorus at random moments. Overall a great summer album. Just imagine any of these songs performed live ndjansns

lol don't feel too bad about it! honestly they weren't that bad + i can always delete asks if i really don't want to answer them, i just always get a bit paranoid that things will get out of hand so i may end up getting more serious in those situations OTL

and yeah i agree! i don't think it's a bad thing for groups to promote in the US, as you said, it's similar to groups expanding their fanbase by promoting in china or Japan or other asian counties, it makes sense from a business standpoint and there's nothing wrong with promoting in different countries. i just wish that some kpop stans understood that western and/or global popularity is a bonus and not a requirement for success. while they do have a global appeal, at the end of the day kpop's main audience is korea, and groups that achieve popularity in Korea have already achieved what they set out to do. but there's unfortunately a decent chunk of international fans that prioritize western popularity over anything and can't fathom that a group can be successful without being popular in the US. or they just talk as if their groups western achievements are more valuable than their Korean ones and to me that starts to look like xenophobia... (sorry if I'm repeating anything i said before in regards to this, i feel like i am but I'm too lazy to go back and check OTL)

since you sent this ask hybe released the caratland merch which was actually really nice, and today they also announced that there will be birthday merch for cheol (and presumably all members from here on out). we don't know what the bday merch is yet but some carats are already a bit miffed that hybe is even thinking to capitalize off the boys' birthdays... i bring both of these up bc i feel like the caratland merch proves your point that hybe is capable of designing good and thoughtful merch, and honestly this does reassure me a bit. but on the other hand them trying to capitalize off the boys' birthdays also proves that they still don't fully understand carats wants and priorities as a fanbase. which, if the future of seventeens merch is gonna be quality merch with some shitty cash grabs in between, i can live with that. I'm not gonna like the shitty cash grabs and i think it would be in our best interest as a fandom to not go crazy buying those shitty cash grabs, because if we don't then hybe will hopefully stop wasting their time and put more effort into /quality/. but if we get quality merch for important events like concerts and fanmeetings, i can live with it. as you said too, it can take time for these things to change, and we should all recognize that. but at the same time merch specifically is market driven, so i don't think it's a bad thing if people like @ hybe on twt about any bad merch that comes out in order to drive that change dhfkfj

but also on a maybe more fun note in regards to the merch... with some carats being upset about the bday merch i was thinking about what hybe could do for merch instead that would fill the niche of being at intervals throughout the year that could still be limited time drops but that carats wouldn't be mad at them capitalizing on and then i was like duh! they could literally just make merch off of going seventeen! honestly I'm surprised they haven't yet. maybe not merch for every episode, but they could have a line of permanent gose merch w a basic logo or something and then release limited time merch themed around some of the more popular episodes at various points during the year. I'm actually kind of obsessed with this idea now and for once I'm like hybe/pledis please capitalize off of this!! dhfkgjg

they never actually sold them, but for seventeens 3rd anniversary, pledis planned to sell replicas of seventeens rings. after it was announced carats were understandably upset since the boys worked so hard for those. luckily pledis heard carats concerns and put out an apology and didn't manufacture them in the end. I'm glad that at least they listened to carats even though it would have been better if they had never considered the idea in the first place :(

oh yeah listening parties are definitely just another marketing technique to boost streams. i think like with a lot of marketing techniques, it just depends on the execution. imo if they're done well it can be a good way for fans to connect while listening to an artists music, which is mutually beneficial for the company, but i can totally see a situation where companies get greedy and push it too hard. i don't know anything about what happened with them back in the day, but if you're curious why SVT had listening parties leading up to your choice, they were set up by UMG, the American distributor that SVT worked with for this cb. in this case the listening parties weren't just for boosting streams, but also likely for UMG to gauge interest. SVT isn't officially signed to a US label yet, but UMG's data from the listening parties could be used to show US labels whether or not there's enough interest for them to be signed. which if that happens we'd almost definitely see a more permanent US shop!

yes! heavens cloud and gam3 bo1 are both such feel good songs! my sister actually added heavens cloud to their Spotify after i made them listen to the album in the car dhfkf it's now one of 6 kpop songs they have saved (4 of which are SVT... my influence 💅 DHFJFH) I'm certain we'll see some of the songs from your choice at caratland this year, hopefully it's all of them but I'd especially like to see heavens cloud and wave 👀 I'm also still crossing my fingers for an i wish live performance bc i can't believe my favorite SVT b-side is one of the TWO tracks they haven't performed live not including the new album (the other one being network love, which i would also like to see live!)

Prince Pride

Summary: An ALiP! Short involving Prince Charging going to the city’s first pride event!

Warning: I get a bit serious at the end. Didn’t mean to, sorry. Also Clyde’s shirt has a curse word on it. I’m going to be spoiling something I’ve hinted at in Probable Theorem in this fic. You have been warned.

The poster advertising the city-wide festival was both a surprise and warm welcome to Logan when he saw it at work. He immediately took a photo and sent it to the group chat he had with his roommates. One he usually kept muted due to silly conversations and spam messages in it (usually Roman and Patton). They all answered with enthusiasm and made plans to go after Virgil stated being too nervous to go alone. 

When that warm summer day finally approached, they headed to the city park where it was being held and waited on the side for the small parade to start. Patton found a tie-dye shirt with the pan colors on it randomly in a store. Of course, it was not advertised that way, but he didn’t care at all. Virgil had a shirt on but was hiding it under a light breezy sweater, too shy to have it in the open just yet. Patton had asked Virgil to make Logan a tie that fit the ace colors. Logan absolutely loved it. And Roman? Was fully decked out with a pride flag as a cape tied around his shoulders and his cheek had a rainbow painted on the side, courtesy of Virgil. 

The parade was rather short since it was the city’s first year, but the crowd quickly formed around it before pouring into the park where a stage with music was set up, surrounded by stalls of food, supportive local businesses, and random merch. The stalls were lacking, the basic pride flags most common people could quickly find were being sold. Patton made comments about making other flags and setting up a booth next year just so that more people could feel accepted.

They were still walking around when they started hearing shouting. It sounded like a debate and a small crowd was gathering around it.

“He is!”

“Where’s your proof? I don’t want you to be wrong, but all I hear are stories! I want evidence!”

“What evidence are you even looking for?”

“I mean, if he were to show up, that would be pretty good!”

“You know he doesn’t show up in the day time!”

“It’s PRIDE! If Prince Charging really stood by us, he’d be here!”

Their group all turned to Roman who watched on with wide eyes and a bit surprised. “Wait…” He mumbled to himself. “Why didn’t I think of that?”

“Roman…” Virgil started softly. “What are you planning?”

Roman smiled and turned toward him. “Virgil. I need a quick way home as soon as possible. I think I didn’t dress properly for the occasion!”

Virgil stared at Roman before letting out a deep sigh and shaking his head. “Fine. I know I can’t stop you. Here, let’s get out of here and find a quiet place to ourselves.”

Patton and Logan waved them goodbye as they went their separate ways. However, only ten minutes later, Virgil walked back up to the two and let out a large sigh before ducking his head. 

“I told him to not let me regret this and I already regret this.”

“Regret what, Virge?”

“Is that Clyde?” They turned to Logan, who was staring off into the crowd. Following his gaze, they turned and spotted Clyde in the crowd. He didn’t stick out much, though he wasn’t wearing his usual scarf and beanie in the hot weather. His hair was slightly pink at the ends, probably temporary color, and he was wearing a big, baggy tank top that said ‘Imagine what you could learn if you weren’t an asshole’ in rainbow letters on the front with a blue bandanna tied around his neck.

“It is!” Patton cried out happily. “Clyde! Hey, over here!” They watched as their neighbor looked over at them and visibly deflated. He seemed to contemplate ignoring them before begrudgingly walking over. “Hey! I didn’t know you were going to be here!”

“Yeah, well…” He tugged at his bandanna and looked around.  “Aunt Les has been talking about this for months and I was curious, so…”

“Well, be that as it may, it is nice to see you here, Clyde.” Logan smiled at the younger man as he looked at Logan in shock. “Even coming to these to simply show support, whether you are a part of the community or not, is a brave act. I’m glad to see you here, regardless of the reasons.”

“Oh. Yeah, it’s whatever.” Clyde smiled softly before looking at the group. “Hey, where’s Roman?”

Virgil jabbed a thumb over his shoulder and Clyde leaned over to see what was going on. “He’s probably just over there. You’ll hear him soon enough.”

Clyde watched the crowd before spotting the familiar white suit he had seen dozens of times before. “Are you kidding me, really?!” Clyde scrunched his nose in disdain and looked up at Virgil. “You really let him out of the house like that?”

Virgil shrugged and didn’t bother turning around. “Hey, if seeing him makes others feel safe knowing he supports them, who am I to stop it?”

Roman was walking around and smiling, ignoring the whispers as he made his way through the sea of people. He knew in his outfit he shouldn’t hang out with the others, but it was a golden opportunity to just enjoy things as they happened and stand up for anyone in the rare chance something happened. 

“Prince Charging!” He stopped and turned, seeing a group of people smiling and waving at him. He raised a hand and waved back, watching them all laugh and turn to talk to one another before he turned and kept walking through the crowd. 

“No way,” He turned and saw the two people who were arguing before, both staring at him. “No way! No way you’re really here!” The person who was demanding proof that Prince Charging was in support of pride. He watched as they smiled, seemingly happy to be proven wrong. “You’re really here!”

“Well, of course I am!” He placed a hand on his chest and smiled, puffing up proudly. “There is no where else I would rather be!”

“Are you really him?” Someone else questioned. The Prince smiled and nodded, causing them to start jumping with excitement. “Ahh, the Prince is here!”

People started taking out their phones and snapping photos, which he was more than happy to pose for. A crowd quickly formed and Prince was having a hard time keeping up with them all.

It was going great for a while. Of course, someone had to speak up.

“No way. I bet you’re a fake!” He stopped and turned to the person who shouted at him. “I don’t believe you!”

“You don’t believe me? The gayest hero in the city? Truly, I have not done my job well enough if you’re still questioning it!”

“Prove it! Prove it you’re really here!”

With a huff, he looked around and noticed a nearby bench, quickly excusing himself as he made his way to it. Jumping up, he turned to the crowd and threw out his arms. “Ladies, lords and non-binary royalty, it is your prince! Here in support of all of you!”

“Are you the real prince? I bet you’re a fake!”

Roman held out his hand like it was a gun and pointed it to the crowd. “This is as real as you are, I assure you!”

“PROVE IT!”

Without hesitation, Prince Charging held his arm up and aimed straight into the sky. He let loose a bolt of lightning that shot up and flared out, almost like a firework. The crowd gasped and grew silent as he put his hand down. “I am Prince Charging, the real deal!”

“PRINCE, I LOVE YOU!”

“I love you too, random citizen!” He said with a smile.

Clyde scoffed and turned away. “How can you date him? He’s so annoying.”

“Say trans rights!”

He cleared his throat and cupped his mouth before turning to the sky. “Prince Charging says TRANS RIGHTS!”

Clyde smiled a bit and turned away. “Well, maybe not always. I could do without the shouting, though.”

Everyone just started cheering and asking him to say other things, which he happily obliged. No one questioned him, no one was afraid of him, and everyone kept chanting his name.

He couldn’t tell you how he made it onto the stage where they were performing. He couldn’t tell you how he even got there! However, he will remember being handed a mic and being asked to give a speech. Performing was in Roman’s blood but he still got pre-show jitters every time. 

But not here. Not today. Definitely not this time. 

“You’re not broken.” The crowd grew quiet at the Prince’s soft tone. He hadn’t realized how serious he was going to take it, but as soon as he started, he couldn’t stop. He looked down to the crowd at all the unfamiliar faces. He smirked a bit as he saw his roommates with Clyde, looking up at him from the field.

“You are not broken. This isn’t some sort of test or a race. We all spend time trying to figure it out, afraid of what we will learn and what others will say, but we were made this way. And the way that you are? The way that each and everyone of us is? We were made exactly the way you were supposed to be.” He pulled the mic away a little bit as he stared out at the crowd. “The label can feel nice, knowing can feel like… like you make sense for the first time in your life. It doesn’t work like that for everyone. You don’t have to follow the label exactly. You want to be a dashing prince?” He smiled and posed a bit. “Fine. You also want to wear a dress? Go ahead. This is all…” He moved his hands around a bunch, waving them back and forth. “It’s like a color wheel. There are so many slightly different variants to every color and shade. You don’t have to be exactly on the dot. You don’t have to be the same color as everyone else. If you’re a bit more green or purple, than that’s fine! Because that’s…” He pulled the mic away, feeling his voice start to waver. 

“That’s who you are, and you don’t have to prove yourself to anyone. You are exactly who you need to be.”

What does it feel like to sell merch?? I cant imagine how nice it is for people to want to buy something you made :o ive always wanted your BMC poster but cant irder stuff online much but just know i Love it

getting an order for stuff feels really really cool tbh especially when i’m violently oscillating between thinking my art is mediocre and aggressively hating it 

but i’m gonna be super legit with you here: i don’t think i should’ve opened a store. at least not when i did 

(under a read more cause i just had to vent you know) 

now i wanna be clear i’m not shaming anyone for not buying things or anything like that, trust me i get it we can’t all be buying posters and whatnot when we’ve got bills to pay. but even with about 4k followers, i do not have the audience to have a profitable online store. 

i was kind of mislead (AGAIN not shaming just like miscommunication) by people i talked to at the bmc stage door as well as people online about how many people would be interested in buying my stuff. especially cause, when you’re ordering prints, it’s W A Y cheaper to buy in bulk, so i bought more than i was already expecting to sell under the impression that it would pay off in the end 

obviously it has not and that’s why i did a preorder of the pjo posters. even t h e n, i bought an additional five just in case and i have been unable to sell them in the past five months or so

i totally get that running a business starts with spending money, but in my case, i’m still at a loss and i have like 50+ posters that are just sitting around my house waiting to get sold which is, honestly, really really embarrassing because i think my parents thought i was going to be much more successful at this than i have been 

so yeah, for anyone who is thinking about doing an online store do preorders, do polls not only about who would LIKE merch from you but who would be able to feasibly buy it, and honestly, go out of stock before overbuying because i do not know what to do with these extras

(note: i’m kind of very anxious about money rn because i spent ~$500 on professional and publication stuff this month in the form of website things and isbn numbers and still have to pay for a copyright, so this has been bothering me a lot. sorry anon for going off it totally wasn’t you, just pent up frustration at myself)

Ahh it was!! I went with an online buddy who was kind enough to drive me to the concert and they stayed at my place as a like, thank you for taking me with them (Idk how to drive and ngl don't feel comfy using Uber) and the Chicago stop was fun! My first kpop concert, took alot of pics that I had to save to my computer because rip my storage lol (Granted some.merch was missing for Chicago? Like I swore I saw people at Newark get hats but for Chicago they didn't have them? Merch was a mess in general because by the time we got there, almost everything was sold out o.o)

Right!? Cannot go wrong with some nice pastels ^_^

But oohh svt song wise? It changes always but some of my current favs are heaven's clud, kidult, pang, rock with you, game boi, oh my, clap, lean on me, network love, swimming fool and so many others ndjsjd. As for outside of songs of svt, the best way to not make this an essay of fav songs is check out the audio tag! (Its just audio lol) I post alot of songs on there so you can find what I like to listen to as well!

But yes we may talk about anything besides svt ^0^ whatever makes you comfy and oohh anime. Listen I love anime but instead of watching, I just add more to my watch list nsndnsj I still have yet to finish sailor moon on Hulu lol. I enjoy alot of things really, its why my blog is a mess of interests xD

Oh! I remember you mentioning something about being excited for Enkanomiya yesterday, and I cannot agree more!! The music, lore, scene, and ambience is so… mysterious? (Forgive my limited vocabulary ´ ▽ ` ) It really makes me want to look at everything, make sure I get every single chest, and piece everything together. If I was a character in Genshin, I would love to be a character that can visit this place (not as a part of the Abyss Order though. Death by the traveler's blade, hm? Doesn't sound very appealing to me.)!!

I hope you don't mind me asking you a question: what is your first (miscellaneous/not-necessary-for-living) purchase of the year? Mine is… da da da~ voice packs. I am ashamed(/hj). aHHH the headcanons, I thought it was pretty boring but I have a huge thing for the whole 'tucking a flower behind the other's ear' trope. I remember thinking of something else after that but I went to sleep. I can't recall what it is rn KHDKLSHDK and wAHHH thank you for the flower, I will accept it <3

Mmm yes it's the mystery that makes Enkanomiya so attractive to me, especially the mysteries surrounding it's lore. It's probably the same way how I like Dragonspine because of the many many gaps in its lore (and I actually have a story idea sitting in my drafts about it, but it probably won't be out any time soon).

I haven't actually made any miscellaneous purchases yet this year. I've been thinking of looking for some art and craft supplies online but I haven't gotten to it yet. Ooh I don't keep up with vtubers but it's interesting to know that they sell voice packs. I didn't know that was something that could be sold.

AND OMG YES I would love to listen to Genshin characters talk all day (ahahaha there was a period of time I listened to Childe's jp voicelines on loop for at least an hour).

After an eighteen-month-long-or-so wait, Disney has finally brought their Japanese nuiMOs to the global market!

I made a post about these nuiMOs all the way back in the relatively easier times of July 2019, showing their Stitch and Angel plushes in the line. Both of them, along with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Daisy Duck, are part of the initial global release lineup, so Lilo & Stitch fans can get them right away!

I didn't really take that many pictures of my Stitch and Angel nuiMOs (the picture that you see here is a promo pic); admittedly, I should've taken more of them wearing other outfits besides the ones that I shared on my Instagram. (In fact, I should start using my Instagram more often. 😅) I also had a brief scare when Angel's nuiMO sold out partway through this year, thinking that Disney in the States wants to reinforce their almost-all-Stitch focus, but thankfully, they've since restocked it.

LOL this will be based on my experience on the bp concert i attended yesterday! i bought a $95cad hoodie that literally only had the blackpink logo on the breast, NOTHING ELSE!! in my mind i thought at least for that price, they’d include the tour dates on the back, but big noo (and that was the most expensive merch out of everything else there so rip) and honestly all the other sweaters which did have the tour dates on the back were tacky :(((

now onto the actual concert! my friend and i got p3 but when we got to our seats, it honestly felt more like p4 seats??? so as a result we looked on stubhub and found tix in p2 that weren’t sold yet (this was a good 30 mins before the concert) so we sat there.. we were good because we kept refreshing but up until about halfway through the show, i guess some people bought my friend and i’s seat (most likely from the box office at the venue… but really who would buy tix at the price they were sold at (about $120cad) just to see half of the remaining concert?? so yeah my friend and i got kicked out and had to return to the p3/p4 level but we didn’t go all the way to the back, we just lingered where there were empty seats closer to the railing and imo were better seats because i had a better vantage point of the screen and that’s what i recorded the most!

other than that the concert was amazing!! rose got super emotional during her solo stage to the point of crying, i am IN LOVE with jisoo singing clarity, jennie questioned why so many blinks in the standing put were throwing so many bird plushies kgjfhd and at the very end of hope not, lisa started crying as well (i didn’t know the reason why during that moment, but i saw on twt this morning, she saw a blind blink in the standing pit and that’s what got her so moved to tears ;-;)

and then after the concert!! my friend, her cousins and i waited about a good hour in the coldish weather watiting to send them off!! and i was able to get a video of that too :)

I think Tae would be pretty fun to get drunk with ;) 49. Which of the boys would you want to have a movie night with? 56. Talk about the three things you like the most about your bias. His incredible smile. It’s what made me fall in love with him during the wings concert. His fun, upbeat personality that outshines everything. He’s always so upbeat and adorable. I love how he always calls us “his hope”. <3 <3 “I’m your hope, J-Hope”. His amazing dancing skills. 57. Talk about your bias’s sense of humor. Ehehehe, J-Hope is always laughing and making the others laugh. Thats why I love him. He is just so much fun. 58. Talk about your bias’s face and why you love it. Again, I think all of the boys have amazing smiles. But in my honest opinion, Jung Hoseok has the best smile in BTS. When I saw that big grin, perfect teeth, and energetic smile on stage I just couldn’t take it. 59. Describe your dream date or hang out  with your bias. Auughhh - hard to say. Spending any time with Jung Hoseok would be perfect - but I’d really do anything to get to know him more as a person beyond what I see on camera. Also, maybe a dance lesson date would be nice since I love to dance and he’s the best at it ;) 60. Do you think the way the boys act in public is how they really are? Hmmm, idk. Honestly, I’m sure they have moments off camera where they can be divas, dramatic, argue and everything. We never see that on camera, but I’m sure it happens a lot. However, we do see a TON of their day-to-day lives through vlogs and bangtan bombs and shows. So I feel like the personalities they show on camera are similar to their day-to-day personalities.

My brain is full of Kinpri and I can’t complain. It’s a wonderful feeling. 

I rewatched bits and pieces of Kinpri SSS Super Live today, that after rewatching the day 2 and backstage footage from Rose Party. I just might rewatch day 1′s skit because I honestly can’t get enough of when Minato is bombarded by like 5 different DJ COOs... and also the implied fact/knowledge in the seiyuu and seiyuu fan world that Yashiro Taku is the best Morikubo Showtaro impersonator in the seiyuu industry right now, lmfao. Honestly a great moment in Kinpri history. 

I gotta say, somehow the intro to BOY MEETS GIRL for Kinpri is so good. Every time I hear it, I just start to jam. I think about it a lot...especially how at the Music Ready Sparking live, the seven Edel Rose boys rose to the stage during that music... like honestly the impact that had was A+. Needless to say, I love that performance a lot, lol. 

But SSS Super Live also was great, too. Opening with the anime opening (Shiny Seven Stars) was a no brainer, but they still did it with impact. I mean come on, using those rising columns...the thing that Matsumoto Jun invented for Arashi lives... Yes and Thank You!! Excellent idea, and great for projecting visibility to the fans in the back, too. Though I felt a little bit sorry for the boys because they were going up and down on those towers...couldn’t have been the smoothest ride, lol. 

There’s a lot of Kinpri music out at this point, and honestly it shocks me every time how just about every song absolutely slaps. It’s amazing. I love their music a lot... I’m tempted to keep writing but it’s 3AM and I don’t have the coherency or the energy to write a lengthy paper about the songs I like and why so I’ll have to leave that to a different day. 

But yes the music is good, yes they get stuck in my head a lot, yes I have biases but even then there’s so many songs I’ve come to love in Kinpri that I’m pretty sure it’s not the seiyuu that’s singing the song that decides if I like a song anymore, but just the song it self, and that’s a wonderful thing. 

Considering all the feelings I have for Kinpri, one would think I’d have bought a lot of merch by now. Unfortunately, I actually have not. I did consider buying anime merch when amiami had it on preorder, but the things that I actually would’ve wanted were already sold out, so it felt like I was forcing myself, which I decided would be a waste of my money. I’ve bought a couple of choice things second hand, but that’s it. Frankly, if the pandemic wasn’t going on right now, I’d have been scouring the net for second hand merch the last couple of days... But alas, I have no (affordable) means to ship merch home at this point, so I have to resist. 

Ahh jeez. Kinpri is good. I’m so glad it got the anime. I really hope there’s more movie or anime to come. There’s so many unanswered questions...we gotta know the conclusion!

I truly don't know how or why I started saying this but I randomly did and it stuck with me ever since. Sadly not a cool backstory to the fish slapping

True, true. While you will spot similarities (as they are under the same company per se, that also means the manufacturer who creates the merch has things set up for not just one specific artists always) its how they do make it unique for said fandom. It is the first round of the new hybe rebranding so let's see how it goes for sure! I have some minor worries but I'm being optimistic! Oohhh that si also a good idea! I do know bighit did this for bts and school luv affair if memory is correct. The re-released that album for its anniversary as limited edition and I think there was some small merch for it as well. I do think that will be cool for the boys as well but as you said, we may have some minor issues with the repriting. Sometimes that can be solved but other times that cannot so sadly we don't know. I believe you can(?) Still get their older albums. Granted last time I saw this was during oh my era so I haven't checked since then via online stores.

Oohh no that makes sense! Doing bday merch isn't all too bad (granted not a western artist thing from what I have seen) but it is just well, capitalism lol. I do think they could have done the scoups (and possibly future members) differently. Like a book with pictures isn't a bad idea but idk...give me some pizzaz ya know? Like I get the simple design and I respect that but like you said, make it be related to the members personally like a cherry for cheol or tiger themed for hoshi (it would be chaotic but I would be here for it) if it is meant FOR fans. Make it seem like it has some thought besides just wanting an extra $$$ ya know? Apparently I saw that the scoups book has the letter H on the spine so some theorize that all together you get "happy birthday" spelled out which is unique if true! I just hope it is a bit ya know, something more. Not the worst but I hope you know what I mean! Ahh gotchas, gotchas. No, no thay makes sense with the svt ring merch. I think doing rings isn't a bad idea but it could have been a bit more unique to "carats" so have the ring be in either the official svt colors (so one in serenity and another in rose quartz) with something like "say the name! Carats!" Engraved into the ring, that would be I think a cute idea? A way to connect to the boys while being something unique? Of course it could be a bracelet or a necklace with a small pink or pastel blue diamond instead with a little charm with the engraving I suggested. Being too close to the rings the boys wear I think is slightly stepping lines but making a ring that is different but related to svt would be a good balance? Again just my suggestions (which am curious on your followers on what other merch would you like to see? I feel like you could so so much here! Just please no more plastic water bottles xD)

yeah i have hope for merch in the future as well! as far as old albums go i just bought my first "old" album this summer which was YMMDay and I ended up getting it used... a lot of sites have YMMDay and other old SVT albums listed but they're all sold out and as far as I know pledis isn't still printing new albums except for those on weverse shop (so like an ode onward. although i just checked and an ode and hitorijanai are sold out on WV shop too rn, idk if that's temporary or if they're permanently sold out too...). honestly this is why I'll probably keep buying svt's albums as they come out just so if i want them in the future i don't have to search for it, in hindsight i really wish I had just bought YMMDay back when it came out 😭

Get To Know Me Tag

So I attempted to make a YouTube video doing this but it turns out that, as I predicted, I am much more confident behind the camera. I don’t tend to enjoy showing my face all that much. I thought that a pretty cool alternative was to write instead. So here we go I guess. 

1. What is your middle name? 

I happen to be a deprived child as I do not have a middle name. But I do get what seems to be a pretty complicated first name but I’m not sure that that’s much of a luxury. It makes things difficult in Starbuck’s haha. 

2. What is your favourite colour? 

My favourite colour is like a dark emerald/forest green. If I have fellow nerds reading this, then you will probably understand me when I say the best way for me to describe the colour is to call it ‘Slytherin green’. (FYI, I’m not a Slytherin, I just love that sort of dark green.) 

3. Who was your first best friend? 

Her name was Rachel. We went to the same childminder and when we were very very young we used to argue a lot. We grew out of that stage and we were best friends for many years. Unfortunately, I’m not in contact with her anymore.

4. How tall are you?

I literally just went to measure myself for this question. I’m exactly 5′4″. To be honest, I’m pretty proud of that as my family are all either short or average height, so to fall under average is a privilege with my genetics. 

5. Cats or dogs? 

Cats. 100%. Don’t get me wrong, I love dogs. They are pretty energetic though and cats are pretty chill and therefore much more on my wavelength. Not as much as tortoises are though. Those guys are awesome. 

6. Funniest moment throughout school? 

Okay so I presume this excludes College which is a shame because I’ve got some really awesome moments from College. So if we are talking high school and primary school, I’m kind of at a loss. I didn’t have a particularly happy childhood, but that’s a whole other story. If I had to pick, I’d probably go with my maths lessons. I was in set 1 so people assumed that our classes were boring and hard work, but actually, in year 9, we had the most awesome teacher. We’d basically spend the entire lesson gossiping and the teacher would tell us some funny stories about herself. The one I remember best was about her irrational fear of rice. (I don’t even know aha.) Also, when I got diagnosed with severe depression, she was super supportive. Turns out that she struggled with it herself, so she completely understood. What a legend, I hope she’s doing well. 

7. How many countries have you visited? 

Okay so I’ll have to count. I live in England and I’ve visited Wales, Ireland, France, Spain, Ibiza, Minorca, Majorca, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Zante, Crete, Italy, Germany, Japan and Switzerland. I think that’s it, although I have visited some of these places multiple times. So I think that’s 15 altogether. 

8. Are you in/have you been to College? 

Well I’m using the English definition of College which is generally further education for 16-18 y/olds. But this can differ depending on your educational background. So I’m starting College in September. I’ve just finished school which is an odd and kind of sad thing. But I’m doing a course in TV and Film production which is very exciting! 

9. What was your favourite/worst subject in high school?

This is a fun question. My favourite(s) were always Physics, Maths, Art, Music and Drama. I hated the acting part of drama but coming up with ideas for productions was always super fun and interesting for me. My worst subject(s) were always English and P.E. Thank the lord above that I don’t have to do those subjects anymore. I love writing and I love reading but I hate being told what to write/read. And I think if someone ever asks me to analyse text again I’ll run away to the north pole and live as an eskimo. We won’t even get on to the subject of P.E. I don’t want that pain to be brought to the surface. 

10. What is your favourite drink? 

Coffee. Yes! I love it more than I love myself. Soy lattes. Honestly so amazing. But I do like the odd smoothie, tea, and sparkling water. 

11. What is your favourite animal? 

Essentially all of them. But if I had to pick I’d probably go with Pigs. But I do love Cows, Goats, Degus, Bearded Dragons, Tortoises, and Cats. Ooh also Gorillas. I really want to hug a Gorilla. Probably one of my life goals. I clearly have high expectations of my life. 

12. What is your favourite perfume? 

I do love the Strawberry scented one from The Body Shop. And Si by Giorgio Armani smells lovely and reminds me of my mum which is nice. Also Eccentric from Victoria Secret smells heavenly. 

13. Tea or Coffee? 

Coffee would be my first choice most of the time but tea never fails to cheer me up when I’m down. So I want to say both. But I think I’d find it harder to live without coffee than tea. 

14. What would you name your children? 

I haven’t really thought about it. I’d maybe say Alistar, Belle, Luna, or Tom? I’m sure I’ll find more names that I like though in the future. 

15. What sports do you/have you played? 

I’m not a massive fan of sports to be honest but I enjoy swimming, diving, biking and badminton occasionally. I went through a very sporty stage where I was in the Basketball, Football, Netball and Badminton team. Ah the days when I had energy and was productive. How far ago they feel. I also LOVE dancing but I mainly do it when I’m home alone as I’m possibly the least coordinated person on Earth. I can’t even run without it looking like I’m on some form of recreational drug. 

16. What is your favourite book? 

Reasons To Stay Alive by Matt Haig. Matt is a brilliant writer and a lovely guy. I met him a few weeks back. It was a privilege. There are very few people that I feel comfortable around from the get go, but he was one of them. In this book he talks about mental heath. It’s incredibly moving and always makes me feel incredibly lucky to be alive, even though I don’t always feel that way. If you don’t know him, check his work out, follow him on twitter etc etc. (@matthaig1) He also writes novels and I’m currently reading his latest, ‘How to Stop Time’ It’s shaping up to be extraordinary. 17. Who are some of your favourite YouTubers? 

I have many, many, many of those. I shall reel off a list. Amy Ordman, The Bakeey, Chris Klemens, Alexis G. 18. What is your favourite movie? 

Ahh. How am I supposed to choose?! I am such a movie nerd. Okay. My top 5 are Girl Interrupted, Fight Club, Sweeny Todd (the one with Johnny Depp), Pitch Perfect 2 and the live action Beauty and The Beast. (I would feel mean picking one and not all of the Harry Potter Movies.) I’m going to have to choose the live action Beauty and The Beast simply because it’s fun, uplifting and so beautifully made. (Also the soundtrack is heaven.)   

19. Are you single or taken? 

Single. 

20. What’s your idea of an ideal first date? 

Maybe coffee and a posh night out in London. Like a jazz bar and maybe a theatre performance. Honestly, I doubt that would ever happen, but I suppose a girl can dream. If I get to choose who the date is with could I opt for Anna Kendrick? Kind regards. 

21. How many boyfriends/girlfriends have you had? 

Excluding my primary school boyfriend, 4. There was someone I met in hospital, someone I met at school, someone I met online through a mutual friend, someone that lives round the corner from me. 

22. Favourite memory from childhood? 

Erm... I’m sure there’s something... Well I do always miss being young and innocent and waking up early and walking to school with my parents. The birds would tweet and the sun would shine and I’d have lovely chats with the teachers and my childminder. And my dad would pick me up and we’d bike home and I would watch 64 Zoo Lane and eat Ice Cream. Ah the good old days. Ooh and Christmases and trips to Cornwall. Not gonna lie I still enjoy all of this stuff. I guess childhood wasn’t too bad. Well, for the first 7 years at least.

23. Do you speak any other languages and how well? 

I don’t. I can do the odd phrase in Spanish, Italian, Greek, French, German and Japanese at a push. I won and award for my French around 5 years back. But I’ve slept a lot since then so I don’t remember all that much. Also I had a terrible French teacher a few years back who put me off the subject for life. Let’s just say she wasn’t my biggest fan. 

24. Do you have any siblings? 

I have a step sister. But that’s all. She’s pretty amazing though so. Also she’s currently living in Japan which means I get cool stuff because it turns out that Japan are way ahead the UK in creating top notch backpacks. 

25. How would you describe your fashion sense? 

Band merch/Harry Potter tees, jeans and hoodies, pretty much. I also own the odd flannel. Doc Martens, Converse and Vans are the footwear of choice. Beanies are pretty cool too. For colder days denim jackets and ‘leather’ jackets are my jam. So basically the casual lesbian look is my style. Way to fit the stereotype, Bri. 

26. What is your favourite restaurant? 

Okay, I have three. YoSushi, Handmade Burger Company and Bella Italia. All three have amazing vegan options. Also they all hold really happy memories for me. 

27. What are some of your favourite TV shows? 

Ooh, I like quite a few. My number one would have to be The Big Bang Theory. I also love Sherlock, Orange is The New Black, Miranda, 13 Reasons Why and Stranger Things. 

28. PC or Mac? 

Mac all the way. I have nothing against PC but I recently invested in a mac and it is my life. I find it easier to use and I much prefer the layout. 

29. What phone do you have? 

I have an Iphone 6S in rose gold. (With a really cute cat case, just saying.) 

30. What is one of your bad habits? 

Biting my nails. I’ve done it for my whole life and I can’t, nor do I have any intention to stop.
