SPOP Goofy Movie AU
Glimmer wants to spend the summer before senior year sightseeing in CA and going to the big Powerline concert, a last hurrah before she's locked into the responsibilities of college applications and the plan her mother has for the rest of her life.
Angella sees it as the perfect chance for her daughter to get a head-start on her future and for the two to repair their strained relationship by taking a road trip to visit all the best universities, networking with important contacts along the way.
But Glimmer wants to stand out (above the crowd) and her mom's being so cringe! They clash over her hair, her clothes and the person they each want Glimmer to become (and the person Angella used to be).
Will this trip be the thing that wrecks their relationship for good or will they finally learn to see I2I?

She-Ra’s bisexual rep is damn good and this is why
EXHIBIT A: BOW -- his relationship with Glimmer, his short try with Perfuma, and his crushing on Sea Hawk, literally from the moment they met. I guess you can count his interaction with Kyle, too, but I personally found that to be more platonic even if I think their dynamic is interesting.
Tumblr media
“Your name is Sea Hawk!? That’s the coolest name I’ve ever heard!” (Cue Mermista letting out her longest uuuuggggghhhhh ever on her throne in Salineas)
Tumblr media
I totally get it, Bow. This man’s stupid shiny mustache, titty window and massive ego also makes me lose all of my brain cells.
Tumblr media
“Sea Hawk is impressed with my knots!”
Tumblr media
He went to Princess Prom with Perfuma!
Tumblr media
They were so domestic in the portal that I’m not convinced that Glimbow weren’t dating in their “perfect” reality.
Tumblr media
Did you just jump into space for me?
Tumblr media
More news on these two at 7.
Tumblr media
I guess we can count this, too, but I think Bow was just using his masculine charm and sick biceps to distract Kyle from what’s going on behind him. Poor guy.
This got super duper long because the rep is so vast, so I’m going to put the rest under a cut. I’m only going to use the canon bi characters, so this includes Mermista, Sea Hawk, Glimmer, Bow, Micah, Angella, Entrapta and an honorable mention of Perfuma who explored dating a guy but is canonically a lesbian. Apparently there’s no confirmation for this other than ND liking someone’s tweet saying perfuma is a trans lesbian. So her sexuality is up to audience interpretation.
Image and text heavy below!
EXHIBIT B: QUEEN GLIMMAH -- her relationship with Bow and her chemistry with Catra. (If there is more I’m sorry, Glimmer is one of my favorite characters but she has so much going on that I can’t remember any other moments with romantic tension towards other characters.) One could argue she had moments with Adora, as well, but I saw them as more platonic.
But dear God, this poor girl cannot win. People who don’t ship Glimbow seem to insist she’s a lesbian, or that Glimbow is a het ship. They definitely get the brunt of this bullshit and I’m sick of seeing it.
Tumblr media
First of all, she’s a walking pastel bi-pride flag.
Tumblr media
when ur crush is paying attention to someone other than you
Tumblr media
Like this girl nearly had a meltdown over her crush going to Princess Prom with someone else, she clearly loves him.
Tumblr media
Get you a girl who will personally kick the shit out of your kidnappers.
Tumblr media
Glimmer’s fantasy version of Catra. There is no heterosexual explanation for this.
Tumblr media
SOMFT (Swift Wind must ship Glimmadora)
Tumblr media
EXHIBIT C: SEA HAWK, his relationship with Mermista and his seven evil exes that they fought together. Canonically I think Bow’s crush on Sea Hawk is one-sided, but if Mermista wasn’t in the picture (or, you know, if they wanted to explore a poly relationship) I think they could have had something.
Tumblr media
Bow has been fawning over him all day and he still only has eyes for Mermista.
Tumblr media
The bi-rate urge to belt out songs about your blushing beloved in public
Tumblr media
I actually love that his fantasy version of Mermista is just her, but slightly more anime. This man wouldn’t change a damn thing about his beloved, but he might be a big fucking weeb.
Tumblr media
She’s too hot, he’s not getting anything done today
Tumblr media
There is no heterosexual explanation for this.
Tumblr media
ND has confirmed this is Sea Hawk’s ex in a tweet (all of the s4 wrong answers became s5 canon), but....
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think they’re all his exes.
Honorable mentions:
Tumblr media
An attempt at flirting with a lesbian.
Tumblr media
DT calling him Hot Stuff, bc yeah, the many ideas this gave me. But come on, read the room, DT. This poor man is traumatized, his fish wife is mind controlled and trying to kill him for real this time.
DT is another enigma, like Perfuma. I can see them flirting with both masc and fem characters, so they might be bi or pan, but it’s really up to audience interpretation.
EXHIBIT D: MERMISTA, her relationship with Sea Hawk, her massive crush on Adora, her flirting with Perfuma, and her inability to function around hot people.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Adora transforms into a hot, buff warrior princess right in front of her eyes. “That’s.... different...”
Tumblr media
Mermista masks a lot of her emotions, just like I do, so I imagine this is going through her head in this scene: “Oh great, these two incredibly hot women are are in my space right now, time to die i guess”
Tumblr media
“You see what I have to deal with?” That blush tho. “He’s just my ride” my ass, you aren’t fooling anyone, dearest. You have a fleet of ships, probably a whole ass navy at your disposal. Failing that, you’re a literal mermaid who could have swam there if needed.
Tumblr media
Look at how they’re standing -- she grabbed his arm first.
Tumblr media
Some not-so-subtle flirting with Perfuma. I love to imagine they dated when they were like, younger teens.
Tumblr media
More mermadora content for your viewing pleasure
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Get you a girl who will help you fight your seven evil exes.
Tumblr media
As much as Mermista tries to hide her feelings, everyone knew this was the only way to break the mind control. Only someone she loved could get her to feel so strongly that it would override it (even if that feeling is annoyance, and if you’ve never intentionally and playfully annoyed your partner, you’re stronger than I am).
Tumblr media
JUST! LOOK! AT! THEM! GOD THEY MAKE ME SO SOFT Anyways I’ve written like 250k words of fanfic about these two being in love if you need more
EXHIBIT E: ENTRAPTA
Tumblr media
To be fair, I don’t really see any references in the show to her being attracted to anyone other than Hordak and tech, but according to the SPOP Wiki, ND confirmed she is bisexual, and this first bulletpoint also touches on her attraction in the show as well:
Tumblr media
The wikipedia isn’t 100% reliable but it’s a good place to start, I did go out of my way to pull confirmation tweets and stuff where I could find them. But being fanmade, the wiki isn’t always a great source of information.
EXHIBIT F: MICAH AND ANGELLA
Tumblr media
Another walking pastel bi-pride flag.
Tumblr media
To be fair, again: these two are only confirmed bisexual under the blanket statement that all of ND’s characters are queer. They still count, though, in my heart. We stan a short bi king and his tall bi wife. (I only teared up a little bit getting this screenshot)
Honorable mention: Perfuma, who, for all intents and purposes, I thought was bisexual until I read her wiki. Because this is how she’s presented in canon.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
God, I ship these two so hard though. I love when the grumpy one is soft for the sunshine one ;~;
Tumblr media
Scorfuma is pretty fucking cute too, though. I just think that it’s neat to also include someone experimenting with their preferences, too, if that was the intention behind her relationships in the show.
Perfuma is widely regarded by the fandom to be sapphic, but just because she ended up with a woman doesn’t mean she couldn’t be bisexual. I think it could go wither way -- she could have been experimenting with her preferences and then determined she only wants to date women, or she could just be a bisexual person in a same-sex relationship.
If you stuck around this long, thanks! I don’t want to pretend to be an expert on any of this, just a real bisexual person who sees herself in these characters and hates to see that all erased by fans of the show who insist they’re straight or heterosexual couples just because they’re opposite sex. Or, again, that because Perfuma ended up in a wlw relationship she is exclusively sapphic. Bisexual people are still bisexual no matter what the gender of the person they’re partnered up with is.

Hi! Hello it’s me again (PArdon me lmao)
Since I posted about the Lion king idea of presenting finn, Thought why not give an idea of the entire movie if yall wanna idk write it? Cause I cant write at all. Ignore the spelling and grammar errors Im trying my best. ANYWAY uh have fun reading this mess of an R.D? (Rough Draft)
Alright, its like 10 years or so after the prime invasion. The BFF Squad finished restoring magic to the universe and found out where Adora and Catra hail from, (Magicat hidden kingdom on ethiera, and adora on eternia etc.)   Catra finds out shes magically pregnant and tells adora, adora is like “Holy shit were gonna be moms” SO like the dummy she is goes to glimmer and asks her permission to present her when the kit’s born. (cause its presumably from magicat culture idk u decide) Glimmer agrees and puts it on her to do lists cause yknow queen shit.
Months later, Finns Born. Swift wind like the annoying loyal steed he is, goes to inform the other princesses of the presentation. (Insert the Circle of life Music)
The princesses show up along with a bunch of other people cause It’s She-ra’s Heir/Kid. Anyway magicat queen comes and takes Finn and goes to present them (the balcony idk what part of brightmoon looks safe!?) presume the thrusting of them over a balcony.
Scorpia and Bow are holding each other crying over how cute finn is, Catra and adora are looking at finn feeling so proud and shit, Glimmer is just holding her head staring at these idiots wondering why she even let them live there.
ALRIGHT HERE COMES THE INSANITY.
Behind the scenes, Catra had been helping glimmer with advising and taking over the actual royal advisors job. The R.A aint happy that her job is being taken by a war criminal and fraternizing with Etheria’s Hero. SO With some rogue clones they build a plan to get rid of finn and catra.
FLASH FORWARD 7 TO 9 YEARS LATER.
Finn’s growing up and needs to learn the difference between play and work, the advisor tells finn that and suggests  adora help them out. so Adora takes Finn out to the whispering woods to teach them about self defense and magic bonding with the planet.
DT strolls up cause their now Brightmoons babysitter (Much to their Utter Delight) and tells adora that theres some trouble in the LightZone (Frightzone) about clones. Finn wants to come but adora says no cause its dangerous, So DT offers to take finn cause they were gonna round up the Runestone kiddos for a playdate.
DT and Finn pick up the kids and they get into trouble. Finn has a whole inner monologue about cant wait to be a Hero or something to make adora let them come with em. Cue the Ditching of DT and the Runestone Kids find themselves lost in the whispering woods.
Rogue Clones find them and give chase with laser blasters. Catra finds DT tied up and explains the kids tricked DT and they hear laser fire. So they go and save the kids.
NOW catra’s a lil pissed and impressed cause Finn manged to trick DT but also left their sights. Catra gives a speech about how much trouble finns in but also quite impressed with their work and tells them that, they’ll show them how to really trick somebody (aka pranks)
Later that night the advisor and the rogue clones finally finish the plan to get rid of catra and finn.
A WEEK LATER. Spoiler alert its finn Bday (Oh god here comes the angst)
The R.A suggests a Royal family picnic. Glimmer, Micah, Bow, Glimbow kid, catra, adora, and finn go to the whispering woods cause theres a nice clearing the advisor has “Suggested.”
a mile or so away rogue clones had been herding up the wild beasts of the woods. (Yknow those hog creatures)
Catra and adora actually have a gift for finn but want it to be a suprise so they ask the advisor what to do, Advisor tells them that theyll take finn to a spot near the picnic and they can give them the gift there.
Advisor puts finn in a spot and then signals the clones.
The ground shakes, the trees start moving, BAM OUT comes running thousands of magic hogs. RUN
Finns on all fours running for their life, their panting and see a spot which they presume will keep them safe. It’s not safe at all.
Finn bolts into a canyon, and sees a high top rock that SURE LOOKS STABLE. They climb up it.
Back at the picnic advisor runs back to the crew, and tells them what happened, Catra goes haywire and starts bolting towards the canyon, Adora tells bow and glimmer to get help and grab the advisor and head towards finn.
Catra reaches the canyon first, she spots finn on the rock, Jumping down she goes running along in the herd til grabbing finn, Adora and the advisor are watching from the top, Catra is carrying finn and puts them on a platform of the canyon. Catra gets impaled by a running hogs horn, She goes down into the herd.
“CATRAAA!” Adora cries and jumps down into the herd as She-ra to save catra. Finn looks on in horror trying to spot adora and catra. Boom out jumps adora  going up the slide, struggling to carry catras limp body.
Finn goes to climb their way out of the canyon.
Adora is holding catra tightly and is still climbing til she sees the Advisor looking down on them. “Here! Grab onto catra!” The advisor smiles sinisterly. “I’m Afraid I can’t do that adora..” Adora looks at them in confusion. “Goodbye my oldest enemy” The advisors eyes flash green. Adora’s eyes go wide. BAM a burst of magic hits adora causing her to fall with catra.
Finn screams in the distant.
The herd leaves. Its quiet. dust is still kicked up.
Finn looks at their parents bodies on the ground. Limp.
“M-mom’s?” They called out. Knees buckling they go to catra shaking her “Please you gotta get up...”
“What have you done...” The advisor voice tells them.
Finn looks them at in fear “I didn-” “Insolent child! Look at what have you done! You’ve robbed etheria of their greatest heros!” Finns ears fold back, tears flooding their face.
“Get out of here. If you ever show your face here again I’ll have the palace guards kill you” a bright ball of magic formed in the advisors hand.
Finn bolts. the advisor chuckles darkly, for it was only the beginning of a new era.
Bow and glimmer teleport to area. they spot their friends.
Glimmer shakes catra “Horde scum DONT YOU DARE-” Catra bolts up gasping and then groans in pain “well.. there goes one of my 9 lives.”  catra looks around and sees adora. And now shes screaming at glimmer to heal her.
The advisor looks ready to run. Glimmer heals adora and adora stirs going “W-what happened?” catra fills her in (catra doesnt know about the advisor she was unconsious.) And they cant find finn. so now its depresso expresso time cause adora cant remeber what happened and where finn is.
LOL  IHATE WRITING THIS ALREADY.
Alrighty alrighty. So finn gets lost in the crimson and find Lonnie and the horde kids. (they dont know its catra or adoras kid cause they burnt that bridge) they adopt em for protection and help with digging in the crimson waste mines for gems and whatever else. And finn dyes their hair blond and shaves it to hide their idenity in fear of the advisor.
8 or so years past. Finns like 17 and the horde kids r old LOL
Scorfumas kid stumbles upon finn and they go into conversation about what the hell happened. Finn tells em about how they killed their parents and how they werent allowed near brightmoon cause the advisor would kill them. Scorfumas kid then has to explain that the advisor was now running brightmoon into the ground using their grief to an advantage. Btw kyles singing can u feel the love cause he do be misintruptioning shit. fuckin kyle XD (Lonnie is gonna kill this fool)
LATER FINN LOOKS AT THE WOODS AND OUT COMES YA GURL RAZZLE DAZZLE! Madam razz goes into her time loops and yknow the deal, she goes “Catra is that you dearie?” Finns like “YOU KNOW MY MOM?!” anyway razz leads them to the abandoned fort of grayskull yack yack yeack. Razz tells them that evil comes from power, not from heart, remember who you are type of shit.
Finn finally decides to go home.
Back at brightmoon everythings horrible. its the works yknow? DT got stuck in the “Prison” cause of how they were sus of the advisor.
Just gonna shorten it cause this is so LONG. Finn shows up, catradora are in shock. advisor turns out is the leftover of PRIME so then finn and him fight. Finn wins and here comes one of the newest heros to etheria. GG end of AU LOL
Sorry I dont know what I just wrote. but yeah theres the gist of the idea if yall wanna steal and try to write this shitpost? idk lol thanks for coming to this ted talk

Season 5 Adora indirecty was forced into Catra's redemption since catra only turned good out of her unhealthy thirst for Adora. She didn't save Glimmer of the goodness of her heart, she just did it for her dream girl.Catra's would rather own Adora like a possession then rule alone.Catradora is the worst ship.Too bad people like that kind of representation for the lgbt community.Scorpia x Catra or glimmer x Catra was better option. Possession is not love
I have absolutely no idea why you’re bringing this to me when I been staunchly pro-catradora since the very beginning but I guess I can play ball.
Adora wasn’t forced to save Catra. Adora had the perfect out to take Glimmer and run. Catra did not expect Adora to come back for her after freeing Glimmer, because Catra didn’t understand that Adora loved her. We KNOW this, it’s not a point you can argue
Tumblr media
In order to say that Catra thought saving Glimmer would win her Adora, you have to first establish that Catra thought Adora would come back for her, and she absolutely did not. Catra thought she had burned every single bridge by that point. I’m not going to clutter this post with screenshots from the entire episode where Catra saves Glimmer, but it is very clear that Catra doesn’t expect to be rescued one bit.
I would make the case that Catra was developing an actual affection for Glimmer while on Prime’s ship, something that comes from feeling a sense of similarity between them, and that was part of her motivation to save Glimmer. But I also think Catra saving Glimmer was, in large part, an apology.
Tumblr media
She apologizes to Adora, literally she says “for everything.” She sorry for not sticking together, she’s sorry for all the problems that grew between them, she’s sorry for how she hurt so many people, but she’s really really sorry that she could neither give or receive love the way she wanted to. This is Catra’s One Good Deed, her attempt to do something good for once before she died. Because she 100% thought Prime would kill her for this. You can’t say this was a bid to win Adora over when Catra was expecting to die, you’d have to be an idiot.
Adora was also not forced into anything, least of all Catra’s redemption. Adora was pulling for Catra to come around from the very beginning, that was something Adora wanted because she’s always loved Catra, but the end of s3 showed Adora no longer taking responsibility for Catra’s redemption. She was no longer willing to be the one trying to work for it, to talk her into seeing the light or whatever. And she didn’t, following s3 Adora stopped trying to talk sense into Catra. But when Catra actually did something GOOD, something selfless in s5, Adora realized she wasn’t a lost cause after all. Because it was an act of selflessness, Catra stood to gain nothing from helping Glimmer because it was her final act. Really, Catra did, in a way, die. Prime took control of her and the Catra we know was gone, it was really only through the Magical Power Of Love that Catra, and all the others, were brought back from being chipped.
And not for nothing, but when we do actually see Adora and Catra’s relationship getting back to their version of normal in s5, there’s no element of possessiveness or ownership. At the end of s4 Catra is forced to understand that she doesn’t want to rule at all, but she had convinced herself she did as an adolescent fantasy of reclaiming the power that Shadow Weaver routinely stripped from her. Pre-sword her dream was to rule with Adora, but Adora was the pivotal part of that, not ruling. She just didn’t understand that until she got what she wanted and was still miserable.
I’m not arguing that Catra and Adora had a healthy relationship at any point in the show pre-finale. That is very clearly not the case but it’s also, like, the point. They were two severely messed up and broken people due to their horrible childhoods, but they still found love with each other, it was the only thing that was actually good about their lives. Catra always had loads of issues, as abused children often will. She could be a little nightmare, but s5 shows her actively trying to be better than that and take actual responsibility for her outbursts
Tumblr media
Like I can’t impress upon you enough, this is not subtext. This is not something shippers are reading too much into. This is a show aimed at 7 year old girls, it’s not written in code. You’re literally just wrong, you didn’t pay attention, you chose to let your own biases and preconceived opinions overrule what we are both shown and told, directly, multiple times. And it’s not like it was even entirely new to s5 either. We had seen Catra do things, subtle things, in the past to look out for people she cared about, even if she wasn’t able to accept that she cared about other people at that time. She tried to protect Adora from Shadow Weaver in s1, she tried to protect Entrapta from Hordak, she protected Scorpia from Hordak when she thought Scorpia damaged Entrapta’s recordings. Catra cares about other people, she tries very hard to fight that for most of the show’s run because after losing Adora in the first season, her sense of self-worth is trashed, and she doesn’t want to give that power to anyone ever again.
This has just become a long defense of Catra’s character at this point because that’s what it comes down to. You don’t understand basic concepts from a Y7 show and I don’t really know how to confront that.
For the final part of this, I like scorptra. I always thought there was a real chemistry between them, and that if circumstances had been different they really could have been something. But scorptra was factually far more unhealthy than catradora. Scorpia’s unrelenting infatuation and loyalty to Catra was directly harmful to her, and Scorpia really only found real love and friendship when that loyalty dried up. That’s what had to happen for both of them to grow beyond what they were. And maybe, conceivably, if Adora and Catra hadn’t worked out in the end, Catra could have found love with Scorpia, but better this time. But it DID work out with Adora because they had loved each other so much for their whole lives, it’s the kind of deep, deep love that just becomes part of you. Scorpia is a lovely person, but she’s not Catra’s person. Aaaand I have nothing to say about glitra except that it’s dumb, glimbow rights or bust.

Azula, Glimmer, Katara, and Perfuma for the character ask thing?
Favorite Yes I will do this!!
Azula:
Why I like her: She’s super complex as a character and as a villain!! She’s a parallel of Katara and of Zuko, she’s powerful but so broken, and she manages to be terrifying even when she’s supposed to be this kid. She’s one of the best written characters in the show, and I can’t think of any other character in any medium quite like her.
Why I don’t: She IS evil. I know she’s 14, and she isn’t irredeemable, but she’s not a good person, either. She’s a horrible sister, she nearly killed Aang, she seems to have very little morality, and honestly, sometimes I just find it to be too much.
Favorite episode: Probably the Crossroads of Destiny. The Chase and The Boiling Rock pt. 2 are also awesome but Azula is at her peak in Crossroads of Destiny and it’s thrilling.
Favorite season: Season 2! She got to be the main villain of this season and I very much enjoyed seeing it.
Favorite line: “My own mother thought I was a monster...she was right, of course, but it still hurt!” Full Azula in a nutshell.
Favorite outfit:
Tumblr media
Her Earth Kingdom outfit!! (I also love Azula with her hair down)
OTP: I currently do not have one but I’m into Tyzula and Azutara.
BroTP: Azula and Toph or Azula and Zuko!! (Or Azula and Suki)
Headcanon: I bet Azula and Suki dated for a while. Post canon, of course. Suki would do to Azula exactly what she did for Sokka. Take someone arrogant, beat them to the dirt, then fall in love with them. It probably wouldn’t last long, but I definitely think it could happen.
Unpopular opinion: I....kinda think people are too quick to forgive her. Yes, she was 14. Yes, she was abused and abandoned. But she also tried to kill a lot of people. She isn’t beyond redemption, but I want to see her work hard. Really, really hard. A good villain can’t really just become a good hero.
A wish: ....all of that said, I do want her to get redeemed. Or at least apologize to Zuko, and to Mai and Ty Lee. (Also let her confront Ozai! He’s alive, she deserves to face him, and prove to him she isn’t his puppet!)
An oh-god-please-don’t-ever-happen: I guess die. Also I don’t want her anywhere near Ursa, who’s somewhere though I don’t know where. She doesn’t deserve that.
5 words to best describe her: Dangerous, powerful, cunning, prodigy, arrogant.
My nickname for her: Hehe...Zuzu. It works for her too!!
Glimmer
Why I like her: Sparkly!! She’s powerful, she’s tough, she’s super sweet and she’s probably the bravest character on the show. She’s loyal, she’s a great leader, she’s selfless, and she can bounce back from anything. Seriously. A ton happens to her and she’s still one of the show’s happiest characters.
Why I don’t: Her mockery of Adora’s abuse from Shadow Weaver, her blaming Adora for Angella’s death. The Heart of Etheria, using Adora as bait, refusing to rescue Entrapta, that was messed up, but she was being the best queen she could. She was putting Etheria before herself. But the way she treated Bow and Adora wasn’t her being a good queen. She was just being a bad friend.
Favorite episode: The Heart Pt.2! Where she really shows off her power, fighting her dad, and also confessing her love for Bow.
Favorite season: Season 1. She was still a sweet, reckless kid, and hadn’t been through any pain yet, and I cherished her.
Favorite line: “I thought I could save the world, but all I did was bring you here! I will never help you. And you will never win.” Glimmer’s truest act of bravery. She could have died for this.
Favorite outfit:
Tumblr media
IMMACULATE
OTP: Glimbow!!
BroTP: The Best Friends Squad! Does that count because it’s not a pairing? Uhhh I’m still keeping it.
Headcanon: I love Glimmer’s passion when makeover-ing Adora in Princess Prom (and her trying to brush Catra’s hair). So what if she ended up becoming a part-time designer? Like spending time in Mystacor, as a stylist? Maybe Bow has a sibling who’s a designer, or the other princesses help her out? I don’t know. I like fashionista Glimmer though and I think she’d be good at it. (See outfit above)
Unpopular opinion: Okay. While she was a bad friend in s4, like I said, I think Glimmer made a good queen in season 4. She used Adora as bait and destroyed a Horde base, stopping a bot from sending out a pulse strong enough to level the Whispering Woods. She activated the Heart of Etheria because she thought it could save the world. She refused to save Entrapta because she was running out of time. She was manipulated, but most of her choices were good ones. Adora and Bow pretending everything was fine when she was clearly struggling and desperate? Of COURSE she would push them away.
A wish: Can we get a canon Glimbow child? Please? Noelle? Please? Like Finn? P l e a s e?
Also can Glimmer rescue Angella?? Please??
An oh-god-please-don’t-ever-happen: Let’s not let this child use dark magic, shall we? I do NOT want evil Glimmer.
5 words to best describe her: Beautiful queen trying her best.
My nickname for her: Glimmah! And Princess Sparkles.
Okay I will reblog with the rest I little later!!

Decided to rewatch the whole series after seeing the finale, here's my thoughts as they come along part 1
Razz tells Adora not to look for others to tell her what to do and asks her what she thinks. Adora decides she must fight the Horde. It's poetic that Adora gets so hung up on destiny and fulfilling her goal, when the final message she needed to learn was said in the third episode. Razz is the wisest of us all.
Angella repeats what she heard in the legends of She-Ra, notably that she is meant to "bring balance to Etheria". From Angella's perspective this seems like a good thing, but it's so much more sinister knowing that basically means "to turn the death star on".
Catra was pissed at Adora, but seemed willing to leave the Horde until Hordak elects her as Force Captain. This is the start of her conclusion that Adora was only holding her back, and so the decent of her madness. That little smirk kills me, because that face will shed a lot of tears from this point on.
Season 5 showed us what Adora's She-Ra looks like, without the First One's influence. It might be a bit blasphemous, but I think that reveal would have worked better if this early season She-Ra was the mini-skirt, cleavage design of the 80s. Have a bit of symbolism about societal beauty standards. Love the muscles though that part is perfect.
The first time Catra and Adora meet back up after their falling out is a little unremarkable, the wounds are still fresh and they're still angry at each other but I think both still don't understand how big this schism between them will be.
I just realized Entrapta's castle has a picture of a Tyrannosaurus rex with a unicorn horn and Pegasus wings. Is that what Mara's dragon was!? 😂
Tumblr media
God I love Entrapta, even when I first watched this I was excited to see the purple Hatsune Miku in the intro. She always cared about people since the beginning, she just doesn't understand politics.
Castaspella and Angella were shipping Glimbow from the start lol.
The show gives us a full view of how Shadow Weaver's abuse affected Adora. Being constantly pressured to be the best and strongest at the threat of Catra's health has left Adora a jittering wreck. Call me sadistic, but I love that it wasn't resolved in this episode. Adora wins the battle against SW today, but all the way up to the series finale we see SW's dirty fingers clawing away at her conscious. It takes more than 20 minutes to escape a life of manipulation.
Princess Prom! This is when the show goes from a 7 to a 10. Not only the prom being a fun venue, but this is where Catra begins to get some agency. This is the first time she really feels like a main character, which is great because I love her more than anything. Also the first time we see Double Trouble and the Star sisters, which I guess are different from the Star Siblings in season 5? A bit of a continuity error.
Aww, Glimmer is jealous. I can relate to her fears of being pushed out, but the fact that she's pretty madly in love with him adds a whole new layer. Bow is right but he's being a bit insensitive here.
Let's just take a moment to appreciate how far we've come. Remember when this was the gayest thing in the show?
Tumblr media
It's fun watching the princess alliance so early in their friendships, they obviously care enough to go with Adora on this mission to save Glimmer, but I love how annoyed and distracted they get with each other.
This episode is also really big for Catra, realizing she will never get Shadow Weaver's approval, that longing look at Adora, "this is not because I like you".
The Beacon is sandwiched between two great episodes that make it feel like filler, but a lot actually happens. We see more of Adora's insecurities, especially how she starts to take it out on herself when she runs into a problem out of her control. We got the formation of the super pal trio, a short lived group with an amazing dynamic. And we also have a huge moment with Angella that basically defines her entire character.
Entrapta's insecurities are revealed. She wants friends, she loves people, but they're complicated and hard and always seem to leave her. It's heartbreaking and something that comes to a head on Beast Island.
I love this scene with Catra and Shadow Weaver. It's clear she still loves her evil mom, and we see how SW has abandoned the idea of Adora for now and is now beginning to manipulate Catra. We also see another Catradora parallel, both of them tell straight to SW face that she has no power over them anymore, something we continue to see is not true.
Promise! 18 months later and it's still my favorite episode of the show. I like how it starts off with the anger they've been feeling up until now, but through the mind melting manipulation by skynet Light Hope, it's multiplied a thousand fold. Before this Catra was pissed at her friend, now Catra wants to murder the person she thinks destroyed her life. After this Catra isn't a cute tsundere, she's completely homicidal. She still loves Adora obviously, but Light Hope has corrupted that love into the most vitriol hate on the planet. It's wild to think they both love each other so much, and yet the abuse that have scarred them prevents that love from breaking free. This is the true moment where the show starts, this is where it became the best cartoon I have ever seen.
Also this is the only time since the first episode and Catra's redemption in season 5 where their chemistry is in full play. They just love each other so much, god I'm fucking tearing up again.
An important thing people forget about the Catradora dynamic is Catra's inferiority complex. She has been told since the day she was born that she is worthless, below Adora in every way. She loves and looks up to Adora, but her existing in Adora's shadow blackens that love. Which is why her joining the rebellion isn't a good ending for her. She needed time on her own, away from Adora, to carve out her own identity. It was her struggles as Force Captain that finally pushed her to start doing good, that realization that she is unhappy in that role. If she had left with Adora in episode 1, she would still be bitter and cruel and toxic, because she'd still be standing behind Adora.
Shadow Weaver's abuse goes both ways, as now Adora feels like she needs to protect Catra like a helpless kitten. That dynamic was not healthy, and it would not have lasted. Catradora can only exist now because they both accept each other as equals.
That final "you promise?", probably the most important words in the show. I've seen this episode a dozen times, but after seeing the finale the tears are running down my face again. Adora was the light of Catra's light, nothing mattered as long as Adora was there with her. She loved her so much. The Fright Zone, Shadow Weaver, her own insecurities, they all impacted Catra. But in that moment, them cuddling on their bunk, it didn't matter. Little did she know Adora loved her back just as much. Fuck I'm crying again.
Tumblr media
Catra took that memory, tainted by Light Hope, and saw Adora as a monster. Someone who manipulated her like everyone else and abandoned her at the first opportunity. Someone who broke her most important promise, someone who broke her heart. Catra is probably the best written character in fiction, no I am not exaggerating.
It's a hard follow up after that episode, but the amazing juxtaposition of Entrapta and Light Hope telling the same story with different information is bone chilling and goosebumps giving.
Knowing the whole story of Mara, Light Hope's speeches are terrifying. Her manipulation makes Shadow Weaver look soft. Luckily we have an Alicorn to help, like all other abuse in the show it isn't over in a single dialog exchange, but Swift Wind is speaking the truths Adora needs to hear. The thing about Adora though is one of her main character flaws, she gives in to the doubt her abusers seed her. Her friends constantly tell her she has worth and deserves love, but she has it in her head that she must sacrifice herself for the greater good. That's another reason why Catradora works in the end, Catra helps bring out the selfishness she needs.
Battle of Brightmoon isn't a great finale, my time in the MLP fandom has soured me on "then all the friends came together and shot the villain with a rainbow" conclusion. Luckily, the show would knock the next three out of the park.
Catra starting the new season strong, I love the juxtaposition of the horde soldiers fearing her while the super pal trio doesn't. I love that little smirk, she thinks it's the first she wants yet we all know it's the later.
Frosta got a character change, I understand what they're doing where the other princesses are bringing her out of her shell, but it all happened off-screen so she just seems out of character. The little moment with her and Glimmer is great, and a little bit of forshadowing for Glimmer's queenly role.
Every Shadow Weaver and Catra interaction is fantastic, I love how SW gets so easily under her skin and how Catra pretends to brush it off. Those black tenticles still have a hold on the Kitty's heart.
Ties that Bind is a fantastic episode, especially seeing Catra's interactions with Bow and Glimmer. I love how this contrasts with the season 5 episode A shot in the Dark, here Catra is bullying the best friend squad with malice while the later has Glimmer and Bow playfully making fun of her with love.
Glimmer's actions here are also great forshadowing for her role as queen, especially how desperate she is to destroy the horde and how it affects her morals. Makes her decision to use the heart in season 4 very believable.
I love how Adora keeps referencing ghost stories she heard as a kid. I love the idea of her and Catra under the covers telling scary stories to each other until they'd both end up cuddling while insisting they aren't scared.
Entrapdak! Entrapta's love of science, complete lack of fear, and unending kindness can turn even a dictator cute. They have fantastic chemistry.
I love this little moment with Catra, Shadow Weaver correctly assumes that she's being pushed out and left behind by Hordak, and sure enough she finds Entrapta standing next to him in the lab she was almost killed just for stepping in. Her fears are repeating.
Ah! Goosebumps! The show is slowly moving to be more and more Sci-Fi, and that little shot of Mara's crashed ship with the fantastic music is just a hint to what's to come.
Roll With It is an absolutely adorable low stakes slice of life episode that shows how fun these characters are even when they aren't fighting a war. It's probably the funniest episode in the series, the 80s She-Ra segment is my favorite. There's also the wonderful moment of Adora's breakdown, the pressures of being the world's savior takes a toll on her.
White Out! One of my favorite episodes. The mostly self contained story, the new setting and outfits, great Super Pal Trio bonding, Scorpia being a lesbian, Sea Hawk, and the only time we see the corrupted She-Ra. It's a fantastic microcosm of the show itself, and it's really funny. The Scorpatra stuff is a bit sad knowing how it ends, but it is nice seeing how Scorpia can have a crush while still realizing the toxicity of her relationship later on.
Shadow Weaver's backstory and the biggest window into her head. She believes what she is doing is right, but her methods are full on psychotic, and she was power hungry from the start. I love her so much, she's so deliciously evil. The Eldritch horror that is the spell of obtainment is a treat, and SW's arrival at the Fright Zone is beautifully terrifying. This episode also has the best scenes with her and Catra, it's devastating to watch Catra continue to pine for SW's approval and how, after all this time, SW still only sees her as a tool.
Shadow Weaver is one of my favorite characters, literally every scene with her a amazing. "I can tell by how your voice turns shrill when you scream" what a bitch I love her. I also really like how you can tell Catra and Adora still love her, even after all this abuse. She's a monster, but she's also a mom, and both of those identities conflict in their heads.
Shadow Weaver's and Light Hope's reveal of Adora's origin is goosebumps giving. The revelation that there is a universe beyond Despondos is amazing, but I especially love Light Hope continuing to withhold information and effectively lie to Adora. Razz, Swift Wind, Angella, Catra, they all tell her to make her own decisions but this moment with Light Hope where she is told she doesn't have a choice is what Adora latches on to.
There's also the deal with Hordak, when Light Hope tells the story, she paints it as Hordak ripping the poor baby away from her family. We later learn that's wrong, Hordak saves Adora, he finds a tiny baby and even as a heartless destroyer he knows he can't leave her out there to die. He steals her away, but he does so from Light Hope, the original kidnapper. If Adora was raised by Light Hope, she probably would have fired the heart without question. The Horde was not a good environment to grow up in, but it was an important part in making her the hero the universe needed.
I love Hordak's monologue, the art style and music are fantastic and the whole thing is terrifying. To imagine the big bad horde of the show is just a tiny sliver of what is out there. It also shows Hordak's motivations, which don't excuse his actions but do explain them. This show does a fantastic job at letting us sympathize with the evil-doers, and that has only grown now that Wrong Hordak has shown what it's like to be disconnected from the hive-mind. Bonus points for explaining Imp's origin and showing how Entrapta is exactly the person that he needs right now.
Catra is being embarrassingly edgy here, but it is funny that she's talking about "lost it all" and she seems to think this is rock bottom, oh girl you are in for a ride awakening with how much farther you can fall.
Promise plays again as Adora has another break down. We finally see Mara, and as with everything to do with the First Ones it is chilling. I love this slowly unraveling storyline of Light Hope's true intentions. At this point it is clear she is not to be fully trusted, but we have yet to see how truly sinister her intentions are.
Catra, again, being one of the best characters ever written. She finds a minimum amount of happiness in the wastes, and immediately it all comes crashing down when her trauma resurfaces. That scene of the anger taking over is a masterpiece. I have said a million times that she'd never be truly happy in the wastes, and the later seasons confirm it, but it is heartbreaking to see how even the slightest hint of a smile is ripped off her face.
The Glimmer Angella arguments hurt, they're both right but it's sad to see them fight and how Angella takes Glimmer's advice while Glimmer doubles down on her faults.
Shadow Weaver back on her bullshit, manipulating teenagers to give her power. Noelle mentioned how she truly believes she's on the good side, and obviously she doesn't want the Horde to win, but you can't deny she has some selfish motivations behind recruiting Glimmer. That lust for power remains with her until the very end.
We see Adora getting to Entrapta here, people I think really didn't get their impressions of her right. Entrapta loves tech and science, and sometimes it blinds her, but she isn't immoral, she does care about the safety of her friends.
"You made me this way, and you get to be the good guy" "you couldn't wait to get away from here, from me. But you came back for Adora". You can see how SW's betrayal not only reaffirmed Catra's fears, but was probably just as much a force behind her decent into madness as Adora was.
There's also something beautiful about the symbolism of Shadow Weaver using her new victim like a battery to crush her old.
And Catra betrays Entrapta and Scorpia, this is officially the worst she gets, at this point her hatred of Adora is taking over her. We see more of it in season 4, but her desire to hurt Adora as much as Adora has hurt her causes her to crack like an egg. Scorpia's face says it all.
Tumblr media
I love getting to see Catra and Adora in their element, completely in love with each other. None of the complexity of the world at large, just them two together. Even Shadow Weaver's approval of Catra, this is her dream world.
It's funny how Scorpia's first instinct upon seeing Catra is to hug her while her first reaction to Adora is to insult her. She has terrible judgement of character lol
Everyone's insistence that it's "perfect", watching the world shift and fall apart, the confusion, the panic, the show masterfully shows Adora's emotions in this mind-melding episode.
"Soon the two of us will be ruling Etheria together just like we always planned" "Is that what you really want, to rule the world?" "I mean, yeah, obviously. Isn't that what you want too?" God this little moment is perfect, it shows how much they're wavelengths differ. Catra focuses on the "together" while Adora focuses on the "rule the world". Like DT says later, Catra's heart was never truly in it. This thirst for power is just the world's most destructive coping mechanism.

Note
For the OC asks, could you do 2 for Clover, 26 for Arrow, 14 for Sagi, 34 for Thorn, 48 for Finn, 38 for Leo, 71 for Angie, and 3 for Willow? Also, thanks again for sending me asks for my characters.
For context: Arrow, Angie and Sagi are my Glimbow-kids, Leo and Finn are my Catradora-kids and Clover, Thorn and Willow are three of my Scorfuma-kids.
Other characters mentioned: Kohana is another one of my Scorfuma-kids, Sirena is one of my Seamista-kids and Eira is Frosta’s adopted daughter.
Here are the questions again if anyone wants to ask anything else.
2. Do they have a fear of an animal? If so, what animal?
Yes, he does. Clover is afraid of birds, especially really big ones. There’s no specific reason for this, at least none he can place, but he just finds them kind of terrifying for some reason. He had a lot of nightmares about being pecked at as a kid, and he’s still startled by big birds when he grows older.
It also takes him some time to get used to Angie because of this. When she’s flying around, the sound of her giant wings flapping freaks him out quite a bit.
26. Have they ever been in a physical fight before? If so, with who? Who won?
Arrow actually gets into a lot of fights – most of them accidentally. She’s not one to deliberately pick fights under normal circumstances, but she often ends up in situations where they just can’t be avoided, especially when she’s with Sirena. They’re both sensible people most of the time, but Sirena is very inquisitive and keeps probing people even when it’s obvious that they don’t appreciate her digging into stuff that’s not really her business, and she’s also not good at biting back sarcastic comments when they’re out of place, which gets her in trouble often, and then Arrow gets in trouble along with her most of the time. The fact that Arrow has a tendency to be a bit too sassy for her own good usually also doesn’t help defuse the situations they get into.
Who wins might depend, but she’s more likely to loose, at least when it comes to physical fights – she has won a couple of times, but she’s not that great with hand-to-hand-combat outside of training situations (she and Sirena fight in training regularly, and whoever looses will not hear the end of it for at least an entire week, but that doesn’t really count because they just kind of know the way the other moves after a couple of years, which of course isn’t the case in regular fights). She’s more the “if possible let’s blind them and get out of here before things get serious”-type of person, and if that’s not a possibility, she will still choose using magic to fight from a distance over brawls any day.
There’s one particularly bad incident when she’s about sixteen where she and Sirena investigate some strange activity in the Crimson Waste, and once again Sirena cannot keep her mouth shut and they end up in a fight, which is especially problematic because there is no water anywhere near them that Sirena could use for self-defense. The criminals corner them pretty quickly, forcing them into hand-to-hand-combat. And the two girls lose. Badly.
14. What is a pet peeve of theirs?
People. Being. Mean. To. Willow.
Also, Sagi really has an issue with unreliable people who don't follow through on promises. He takes promises very seriously and is genuinely hurt when people say they’ll do something for or with him and then don’t do it.
If someone promises too meet him, he’ll expect them to show up and be really upset if they don’t. Being late is fine, but not showing up at all really hurts, even if it’s just out of forgetfulness rather than out of malicious intent.
And sure, he’ll forgive someone after they broke a promise and maybe put on a fake smile, but once you’ve broken a promise without having a good reason to (sometimes things don’t happen as planned, and if the person just couldn’t keep the promise because of something out of their control, that’s fine), he’ll possibly never trust them again the way he used to.
He also doesn’t forgive being lied to very easily, at least if it’s a serious topic.
34. Have they ever broken the law?
No. Thorn I think is the one that’s the least likely to break the law out of all of my characters? She’s the teachers’ favorite student, good-girl kind of person and would never do anything that could potentially harm someone else. She wouldn’t hurt a fly – aside from accidentally stinging people out of reflex if they startle her –, which is ironic, since she’s definitely one of the most powerful kids and also the one that could potentially cause the most damage out of all of them because she’s the only kid that’s connected to more than one Runestone.
The only thing she’s ever done that might be considered law-breaking would be the cake-‘heists’ Arrow pulls with her (and sometimes also Sirena if she’s around), where they sneak into the Bright Moon-kitchen and ‘steal’ cake if one of them is upset for some reason... but nobody actually considers it stealing since Arrow is the princess, and the kitchen staff often just... pretend not to see it when the kids are young but actually deliberately place some cake somewhere they can reach it easily so they don’t climb the furniture and get hurt.
48. What does their room look like?
Finn has a huge bed. Don’t tell anyone, but it actually has the softest mattress in the entire palace because they genuinely like sinking into the mattress unlike their moms.
When they’re practicing a scene for the first time, they spread out the pages in order all over the bed and read every page in a different position and with a different voice.
They also have a really large wardrobe. This is because they have tons of different clothes – both regular and costumes – because they love dressing up in different ways to play different characters. It’s not quite Double Trouble’s shapeshifting abilities, but it’s close enough. If they can fool someone in Bright Moon into thinking they’re someone else than Finn, they’re extremely happy for the rest of the day because that means their acting skills are actually kind of good. They also have the biggest, weirdest wigs and hats you could ever imagine, both because it’s funny to see other people’s reactions to them and because they’re good for cheering people up and making them laugh when they’re in a bad mood, which can be found all over the room. (Honestly, they have so many different clothes that they try on regularly spread out across the furniture of the room that sometimes you wonder if anything is actually inside the wardrobe).
There’s also about three different lamps on the ceiling for different kinds of lighting for when they need to practice scenes – one was a present from the Seamista-family and sort of imitates Mermista’s ‘lightning when I need it for dramatic effects’, one is a mood light that can change color that their moms and their older brother got them together, and one is a straight up spotlight from Double Trouble. Pro tip: don’t turn them on all at once, especially not in addition to the regular ceiling light, unless you want to go blind or crazy or both.
They also have a meditating mat hidden under the bed somewhere that they’ll absolutely only ever use when they’re sure no one is around because they’re too embarrassed to admit they actually kind of enjoy it, as well as tons of childhood toys that are kept in a treasure chest for good memories.
Finn’s also pretty sure they misplaced a knife in the room somewhere because they ‘borrowed’ it from Arrow’s knife throwing target when they needed it to practice for a scene (nobody was hurt, thankfully), and after that, it just kind of... disappeared and was never seen again.
They have a family picture in the nightstand drawer that’s way more precious to Finn than any of the toys they got as a kid could ever be, and beside it is a bracelet that Bow and Glimmer gave them for their very first audition when they were still a little kid that they’ve since worn to all their auditions as a good-luck-charm.
They also have some crafting and sewing supplies lying around because if they can’t find the exact clothes or accessories they have in mind, they might as well make them.
Some posters on the walls cover the burns left there by Kohana when they trained in the room very poorly.
And there’s a waterfall, because this just seems to be a thing in Bright Moon. Finn also has no idea what it’s for.
38. Do they get along with others easily?
Leo has a hard time making friends because he’s pretty shy, and he’s also very shut-in for a while after he’s adopted because he’s pretty traumatized from losing his biological parents.
Aside from that, he is a very sweet little kitten that most people like once they get to know him, and very unlike his parents, he doesn’t really pick fights – although he does sometimes end up in some anyway – or ever make actual enemies (which, admittedly, is kind of easier without the Horde around to ruin everyone’s day).
Sure, there are people who don’t like him – I mean, really, having literally everyone like you would be kind of a reach –, but his friends love him to pieces, and he’s one of those people that rarely ever fight with their friends.
So in general, I would say yes, he does get along with others pretty easily, as long as he can actually bring himself to start a conversation.
There is an exception, however, and that’s if someone he meets is rude to him or his friends right off the bat for no reason. He will not try harder to get this person to like him. He‘ll forget his shyness for a moment, hiss at them and move on.
He won’t waste his time and energy on trying to get along with someone like that.
71. Who is their ride or die?
Angie is actually kind of a fun person for this question because she’s not close with many people – nor does she want to be, she’s never been very comfortable with the idea of a huge friend group – and if she ever lets anyone get close, there’s a good chance she would go to great lengths for them.
Out of her family, her ride or die is definitely Sagi. She gets annoyed by his clinginess sometimes and his enthusiasm can get exhausting to her – especially because she’s not a morning person and she doesn’t appreciate him talking her ear off at seven in the morning because she doesn’t even want to be up already can he please shut up, but they are really close because they’re so close in age and she loves him dearly and is very protective of him. He gets insulted from time to time because a bunch of people find his endless babbling annoying, but while the insults fly over his own head most of the time, there’s a chance said people might get their ass kicked by her later if she overhears it. She also tries to keep a bit of an eye on him whenever she can because she knows how much of a klutz he is and that he has a tendency to get himself into dangerous situations by accident.
Out of her friends, Eira. These two are a bit of an odd match because Angie prefers to go on adventures alone and Eira doesn’t like to go on adventures at all and would rather stay inside all day... but when they met they just kind of clicked. Eira is the only one Angie will actually stay inside and read a book with, and Angie is the only one that can really bring Eira to take risks.
3. What do they wear to bed?
The most important thing for Willow is comfortable clothes. How they look doesn’t matter as much as how they make Willow feel when worn – the fluffier the clothes are, the better. They also prefer long, warm clothes over short ones.
Willow doesn’t get hot very easily, and either way, they prefer being hot at night a lot over being cold (they can’t sleep at all when they’re cold), so they’ll still wear long woolen clothes all through spring and at least during parts of summer.
They really like colorful clothes, especially when they’re a kid, and despite eventually growing to like simpler colors when it comes to the clothes they wear in public, their pajamas always stay really colorful.
They also have a glow-in-the-dark-pajama with stars and planets on it that helps them cope with their fear of the dark.

The Good Ending: She-Ra and the Princesses of Power Finale - Meg's final reaction
The final final episode.
We're gonna win in the end.
I have never and I mean NEVER watched a new episode of she ra without constantlynpausing and typing my thoughts as the scenes play because I've never really had friends to watch the show with me for the first time in real time, for various reasons and circumstances. I think just this once, for the most emotional and dramatic episode there will ever be, I'm going to put down my phone and immerse myself in what's happening. I may end up having to pause anyway because I can't process what's happening so quickly. I may write somethings down. I don't really know (spoilers: I didnt.). But for all five seasons, on the DAY that the season was released I binged every episode and logged my thoughts. I've never committed to anything like this and I'm kinda impressed with myself not gonna lie. I've stalled long enough. I just need to hit play.....
~
I just posted on my Instagram story @nonchalantsplace a video of me sobbing my eyes out. I still cant stop. I didn't pause once, I just let it happen. That was SUCH a satisfying ending like holy cow. I really wasnt expecting to see Huntara or DT or entrapta's cooks but they all did so well!! And the Major Character death I sensed was coming was Shadow Weaver and that was such a perfect way to end for her. That scene initially turned on the water works and I'm unable to turn them off. I'm having difficulty typing because it's hard to type with tears in your eyes. And Glimmer with her Dad! And that that Scorpia and Catra reunion!
I don't know if this was only a fear of mine, but I was afraid that they were going to find a way to bring Angella back. They didnt, thankfully, but it's happened before: I get put through the torment and emotion of a character death only for them to loophole their way back from the dead.
FUCK all that romance for one second so I can just appreciate how goddamn beautiful this story was. It was executed so well and I don't think I'll ever see another show that could thematically top it.
I haven't gone to tumblr yet because I know 90% of it will be Catradora, 5% will be Glimbow, 2% will be spinetossa, another 2%is for all of the other "irrelevant" characters and and the last 1% will be reserved for all other comments. Or I may just think to lowly of tumblr. My point is:
I never really cared for any of the pairings at any point BESIDES Seamista and Spinetossa. Chalk that up to toxicity and vld traumatizing me as far as ship wars go, I told myself that ~repeatedly~ that there wasnt going to be an endgame because this isnt that type of show. But then Noelle SAID FUCK YOU LOVE IS LOVE AND IF THE KIDS NEED LOVE THEN THEY WILL LOVE EACH OTHER. Can you pleeease look beyond tumblr and your ships or whatever and think about how fucking amazing it is that She-Ra, a super hero, warrior, a legend, and pop culture icon in the real world, loves another girl? And they kissed on screen? And said that they loved each other?? IN A Y-7 SERIES?? Inserting characters like Lance, George, Spinnerella, Netossa, and DT among many others should be celebrated, but also acknowledge how BIG this ending is for queer kids who may have watched this or watch it in the future. Most of tumblr is queer anyway, but if this hasn't crossed your mind yet, please celebrate this.
Put asides your personal belief (mine is that they both felt extremely forced with not much of a buildup outside of this season, but that's just me) that Catra should've ended up with Scorpia or that Adora should've ended up with Glimmer and just celebrate a happy ending with a strong queer titular character. Catra HAD SOME PROBLEMS and we can't ignore that, as I mentioned many times throughout my reactions, but she's been working hard to be better, and I think with Perfuma's help she'll really be okay in the future.
After all that I just watched, I can't get over how Important strong queer characters are. My only complaint is that the finale could've used a teensy bit more lab partners and seamista but 😋
Thanks for reading! And Thank you, Noelle, for producing a story that will stick with me forever.

My Opinions of She-Ra Ships
So, I just finished watching season 1 of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. It was definitely very very very queer, and overall I’d say I liked it. With that said, as with any new fanbase, a new slew of ships have popped up, and I figured I would give my personal opinion on the main ones I saw.
Tumblr media
Catradora/Catadora
I really like the realtionship between these two characters. I really don’t mind if they date or remain frenemies, I think they work wonderfully off one another. I wouldn’t be opposed to them becoming a couple toward the end of the series when Catra and Adora make up. But, if they never get together, I wouldn’t feel cheated. Though you do have to admit, there is some heavy flirty undertones to their dynamic, but part of that does come from being best friends. Out of all of Adora’s possible ships, this one feels the most likely to me.
Tumblr media
Glimmadora/Glimadora
I’m okay with this as a ship. A big problem I find when it comes to lesbian ships is that women are a lot more physically intimate and affectionate with their friends, so it can be a bit harder to tell flirtation and romance from just a really strong platonic bond. So far, while I’ve seen some romantic undertones, it hasn’t felt like there was anything direct enough to say that I fully ship it or that I see it as a likely outcome. However, since she’s Adora’s second closest female companion, she certainly has a lot of seasons to get out of the friend zone.
Tumblr media
Perfumadora
So far, the only character to show direct, outright attraction, or at least admiration for She-Ra/Adora. It’s difficult to say at the moment if she’s attracted to Adora or only to She-Ra, but there was definitely some crush elements done when she saw She-Ra for the first time. Only time will tell whether this lesbian (or at least, girl loving) character will win the protagonist’s heart. Another potentially interesting element of this ship is that if Perfuma was actually more attracted to She-Ra than Adora, I could see this ship being used to explore lessons of finding someone who loves you for who you really are, not some idealized version of yourself, or some other lesson like that, which is always a good lesson to teach kids. Plus, out of all the Princesses of Power, she has the most Princess Classic archetypal aesthetic, so she creates the Knight and Damsel trope with Adora better than the other princesses. So, if Catradora was not the endgame ship, and if this relationship wasn’t toxic, I think this would be my second favorite shipping option for Adora.
Tumblr media
Glimbow
Well, just so long as it’s as a BrOTP or a Friend!Ship, I don’t mind this pairing, but the instant I saw Bow I could tell he was coded gay. No doubt in my mind. So the idea of these two becoming a couple just feels wrong and off-putting. Besides, boys and girls should be allowed to be close best friends without any romantic tension needing to exist between them. But that’s also my reading of the character, so the fact that I read him as gay does color my opinion of him being shipped with female characters.
Tumblr media
Seamista/Merhawk
To be honest, I’m just not much of a fan. While one could draw a parallel to Kiribaku with the happy dope pining after the grumpy aloof person, Mermista really lacks Bakugou’s depth and redeeming features, coming off as just a rather one-note sourball. Meanwhile, Seahawk lacks the endearing charm of Kirishima that makes Kiribaku work so well, making him come off more as annoying and intrusive, unlike Kirishima, whose invasion of Bakugou’s bubble feels more like a natural extension of his friendly nature. So it just feels like a clash of two tropes thrown together more as a comedic bit rather than a proper ship. There’s also the fact that since i read Bow as gay, and there’s only like... 6 male characters with names, and one is a horse and another is the main bad guy, any pairing that robs Bow of a potential male love interest is not going to catch my interest.
Tumblr media
Bowhawk/Seabow
Speaking of, this is my primary OTP for the series on the grounds that... there’s not really any other option if I want a cute gay couple. Plus they do have chemistry, it’s not just me scrounging for whatever scraps I can manage to find. There is something there which points to flirtatious elements to their dynamic. Considering they’re the only two male characters who are both humanoid and not part of the Horde, it’s safe to bet that unless Bow is planned to end up with Kyle that this is the most likely gay pairing.
Tumblr media
Byle/Boyle (Bow x Kyle)
Out of all the other Horde characters, Kyle screams turncoat character the most. Especially considering I don’t think any of the other cadets even had their names said, and he had his said multiple times, which sort of boosts his relevancy within the story. So, there was some romantic coding between these two toward the end of season 1, and I suppose if Kyle did betray the Horde, he might make for a decent match with Bow, but that’s really going to depend on their relationship and how it builds from here. Right now, I’m still more on the Bowhawk train, but I’m open to this ship so long as it’s well-written. And hey, if this ship becomes canon, I won’t care as much about Mermista and Seahawk being a thing. I just want some guy on guy romance. I also lean toward Byle for the ship name, simply because Boyle is an actual surname and will muddy search results.
Tumblr media
Scorpcatra
The relationship between Catra and Scorpio is definitely interesting. I could see them becoming best friends, I could see her just being Catra’s funny sidekick, or I could see Catra forming an emotional attachment to her and wanting to protect her. This is another pairing where if it became canon, I wouldn’t complain, but I’d also react the same way if it didn’t happen. Granted, it’s only been one season, we’ll have to see where the romantic arcs take us.
Tumblr media
Encatra
Honestly, you could tell me that Entrapa and Catra become a BrOTP, an OTP, an OT3 with Scorpia, or a BrOT3, and I’d believe any of those claims. She doesn’t seem to be particularly interested in relationships, but we haven’t seen much of her yet either. Only time will really tell if Entrapa even feels romantic or sexual attraction, but no matter how her relationship with Catra and Scorpia evolves, I’d be okay with any end result.
Tumblr media
Spinetossa
So far, this is the only ship with any solid credibility thus far. I mean, they’re practically hanging off each other 24/7. If they aren’t wives already, they’re clearly at least dating. I’d be surprised if they ended up just being sisters, but they’re the only ship thusfar with canonical backing as far as I can see. Everything else is pretty much still speculative at this point.
Tumblr media
Kygelio (Kyle x Rogelio)
If you were unaware of this ship, I don’t blame you. I only learned of its existence while making this post. The lizard guy’s name was never even given, that I know of. However, Rogelio is shown taking care of, carrying, and supporting Kyle a lot in the background. Considering Kyle’s weak will and seemingly low self-esteem and self-worth, it’s hard to tell if this is just a very close, supportive, and protective friendship or if there’s a romantic element. Considering I don’t even think Rogelio spoke at all this season, it’s hard to say. However, considering they’re 2 of the only 6 named male characters, I wouldn’t dream of ignoring the shipping potential in them.

SPOP Catradora ZOMBIES AU
I have been haunted by this idea since September but there is no way I am going to have time to write it so I am unleashing this AU idea into the world, free to a good home.
Yes, we are talking about Zombies (sometimes written as Z-O-M-B-I-E-S the cheese-tastic 2018 Disney Channel movie). Quick recap if you've never seen the movie, it's a high school love story between a "zom" aka zombie and a "pom" aka cheerleader. Zombies face a lot of prejudice but are being allowed to attend regular high school for the first time this year. They have a kind of hulk mode that gives them super strength but they lose control without their (easily hacked for plot purposes) wrist bands. Meanwhile, the cheerleaders represent the status quo and see the zombies as a threat to normalcy. There are also werewolves that come in later movies we could add if we wanted.
(And, yes, I'm aware that the way I'm casting this makes the prejudice / racism metaphor weird but I would argue the metaphor was already weird considering the two main leads of the movie are white so...)
Here's how we cast it...
Adora as Zed. She just wants to live a normal life but is cursed with super strength she cannot control and the prejudice of being a zombie in a world that still thinks they are nothing but monsters. She's become an unwilling symbol of hope, assimilation and the model zombie but all she really wants is a normal life hanging out with her girlfriend and playing on the football team. In time she comes to realize that she can control her powers without the wrist band.
Catra as Addison. Her mother, the mayor (Shadow Weaver), is pushing her towards a picture perfect life and a spot on the cheerleading team, but she's not sure if that's what she wants, especially because the spotlight makes it harder to hide her terrible secret: she was actually born a cat girl with cat ears and a tail that she hides with a wig and creative tailoring. Falling for a zombie is only going to put more attention on her and make it more likely people will learn that she's not as perfect as her mother likes to pretend she is!
Bow as Bucky. Listen villain cheerleader Bow is hilarious to me, let me have this. Plus this makes him Catra's cousin so we get those good platonic Bowtra family vibes! He is the star cheerleader on the school's championship squad who wants the zombies out of the school and will do whatever it takes to get rid of them (he justifies this as being for the good of the school and everyone's safety but that's just because he doesn't want to admit this his motives are mostly selfish and he resents the attention the zombies get because it takes away from him and his team). We combine his arcs from both movies and let him come around midway so he's not quite as terrible as in the movies. His evil minions on the cheerleading squad are Double Trouble, Mermista and Sea Hawk (aka Lacey, Tracey and Stacey, you decide who is who).
Glimmer is Eliza. She's tiny. She's angry. She WILL try to blow up an entire occupied building if it means helping her people. Now, you and I know that there is no Eliza / Bucky romance in the movie but here's how the Glimbows can still win: we do it anyway. Picture it: enemies to lovers Glimbow, opposite sides of a culture war, first they are trying to kill each other, then they are hate smooching and then they are overcoming their differences and smooching for real. A proper redemption arch for Bow!Bucky instead of whatever half-ass thing the movie did? Come on, it could be so good!
Scorpia is Bree, Catra's best friend, who doesn't think she has the right "look" to be a cheerleader (come on, this fits so well) and Perfuma is Bonzo, the sensitive zombie poet who wins her heart.
(Because Eliza is also the tech girl we could split her character and give the wrist band hacking part of her storyline to Entrapta if we want to include her too. Alternately, she can be a techie allied with the cheerleaders since Catra and Scorpia are already on that side for Super Pal Trio vibes.)
Zed!Adora's family is made up of Mara in Zevon's parental role and Razz as Zoey, her sweet, lovable zombie grandma who just wants to get a dog and name it Loo-Kee.
Hordak is Shadow Weaver's brother who is the head of the zombie patrol. Castaspella and Huntara are the principal and football coach. (Yes, this makes Casta a prejudiced nightmare, sorry Casta, there are only so many roles.) For the purposes of this bit, Casta has to either not be related to Glimmer or she is but was never turned into a zombie and is prejudiced against her own kind I guess?
If I were writing this, I'd fold in stuff from the second movie too so Lonnie is Willa (but she's the one with sexual tension with Addision!Catra instead of Wyatt), Frosta is Wynter (I mean...), and Wyatt is Rogelio. Kyle is... also there? I don't have a part for Spinnerella and Netossa, sorry gals, maybe you are background citizens of the town? We save Prime and the gang for the alien movie part whenever that comes out.
Anyway, think about it, it works incredibly well with everyone's canon storylines and could be a lot of fun! Forbidden love Catradora! Enemies to lovers Glimbow! The evil trio of Seamista and DT, taking people down with the power of bitchiness and cutting remarks! Scorpia being an adorable bean who just wants to be a flier while Perfuma is a hippie zombie who just thinks she's the greatest! Everyone has lots to do plot wise so it's good ensemble fun!!
Free idea to a good home!!

ty for writing! i saw some posts that were really rude about seamista (and glimbow) and just rlly biphobic. saying stuff like "bihets" and that bisexual representation isn't proper unless its a m/m or f/f relationship it made me feel really bad as someone who's bi and loves both seamista and glimbow (i hyperfixate a lot on them and seeing negative things abt them it can cause a meltdown). but i read one of your fics and it made me feel so much better! you're an excellent writer.
Thank you for reading! I love to hear it!
Seamista are my babies and I’m so glad you got some joy/affirmation from my fics about them!
I agree that there is a lot of biphobia in this fandom, and it’s really sad to see. I want to say that it’s a bad representation of the LGBT community, but overall I do feel like bisexuals are unfairly targeted and criticized for existing the “wrong” way in queer spaces. We can’t ever seem to win. Date someone of the opposite sex and you’re straight and constantly feel like you’re infringing on spaces that aren’t yours because that’s how people make you feel for being “straight passing”. Date someone of the same sex and a lot of the time they find out you’re bisexual and ghost you because of ridiculous stereotypes. I was even reading a book on a mental illness I have and one of the symptoms was “sexual confusion (ie bisexuality)” the book was written in the 90s, but it still felt like a slap in the face.
I would expect it from straight people, but the lgbt community is supposed to be on the same side.
I like that She-Ra went out of its way to rep bisexual characters in opposite sex relationships so people can’t take the bi label away from them and insist they’re homosexual, but it’s still happening just the other way around. I even see people regularly insisting Glimmer is a lesbian lmao?
I take ANY criticism very hard and personally, so I completely understand how you feel when you say it can cause a meltdown. I get irrationally angry and start to spiral, even if it’s just some dumbass stranger on the internet shouting their bad opinions. It’s so rough :(
I originally thought I might be bisexual in middle school, but was immediately pushed back in the closet because it was 2010 and “girls were only bisexual for attention”. I didn’t come back out of the closet until my 20s :( so it means a lot to me to see characters that I can see myself in.
I think the best thing we can do is just continue to educate people who only see sexuality in black and white terms and continue thriving! If that doesn’t work, I think we should all pool our money together and buy an island so we can make and live in bi paradise 💖💜💙

Horde Glimmer... but Glimbow!
Tumblr media
Today’s prompt for @glimbow-week-2020 was Glimbow Swap / Horde Glimmer and I have a brand new story for you all today called Prince Bow and Archer Glimmer.
But I have also written a Horde Glimmer fic and now seems like an excellent time to remind you of! It also takes place after Princess Prom so it kinda works for that prompt too!
There are some other Horde!Glimmer fics but not many (if any!) of them have her still end up with Bow so, yeah, enjoy!
Another World
Glimmer has never known anything but life in the Horde, learning sorcery and dark magic as the favored ward of the manipulative Shadow Weaver. When Force Captain Adora defects and becomes a warrior for the rebellion known as She-Ra, Glimmer discovers the truth about who she was before Shadow Weaver took her from Bright Moon as a baby. But Glimmer is too invested in the Horde’s mission to crush the rebellion and take over Etheria to care about her royal past. Now that she's captured Adora's two closest allies, Catra and Bow, from Princess Prom, she’s finally poised to achieve everything she’s worked so hard for.
But why does winning feel so lonely? And why can’t she stay away from the rebellion archer who makes her wonder if maybe there’s another world where it doesn’t have to be like this?
Read on AO3 or FF.net.
PS: while versions ones linked above are in in English, a fan translated this fic into Spanish as well and you can find that version here.

Decided to rewatch the whole series after seeing the finale, here's my thoughts as they come along part 2
This fight between Catra and Adora is where it all comes to a head. Adora begging Catra to follow her, Catra begging her to stay. Catra denying Adora the satisfaction of saving her, then pulling herself out of the portal as a corrupted monster. Adora seeing her true friends put their trust in her, then immediately see a horrific monster in the form of her love take their place. Catra lets everything out here, how she hates Adora's hero complex and how she blames Adora for everything. It's just so raw.
Tumblr media
Of course, the best part is the punch. Adora is no longer going to take Catra's hate, she is done. In her own words, she made her choice and she has to live with it. That final death glare is everything. This is the lowest point Catradora will ever face, and it takes Catra proving that she is willing to change for Adora to see the good in her again.
Angella's sacrifice hits a lot harder now that we know she's dead for good, something about the "trapped between portals stuff" convinced me she wasn't when I first saw this. She died still believing her husband was dead, and the last true conversation she had with Glimmer was an argument. Hug your mom kids, you never know when you'll have that opportunity again.
This finale has a lot of parallels to the series finale, especially with Adora being convinced her destiny means she needs to be a martyr. That's Shadow Weaver talking through her, something we see in full force in season 5. While Angella here stops her from sacrificing herself, she still has that warped view of what her destiny is, and it takes Catra to finally show her the real way.
That spin is when I started shipping Glimbow.
This final speech by Queen Glimmer is another great example of how the show hides sinister meanings behind normal dialog. Any other show and we'd be cheering when Glimmer focuses on defeating the Horde, but we know the blind devotion to that goal has so many consequences in waiting.
Both Catra and Glimmer look great in their new clothes, it's a fantastic way to show how much they've grown.
The Valley of the Lost is another one of those great more episodic episodes, it's still connected to the whole story but we also get to take a little break and enjoy some a new local with a Star Wars feel with fun antics with Perfuma, Huntara, and Double Trouble. I wasn't sure about DT when I first heard about them, seemed too late to add a new major character, but they're an absolute blast and help give season 4 it's own identity.
Catra's nightmares are just the start of this season's take on her character, this is where we really dive into how unhappy her actions are making her.
Mayor of Elberon got the biggest glow up of the show
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love how, just, done Adora is with Catra. No more playful teasing, Adora is here to defeat Catra and save the town, nothing else.
Double Trouble is a really fun character, but I'll be the first to admit they aren't good representation. It's bad enough they're the "only nonhumans can be non-binary" architype, but also that they're a creepy masculine trans person who pretends to be a cute girl to get on people's good sides... Yikes. It's a genuine complaint, and one of those criticsms you just have to accept.
We finally get to see some character for Spinnerella and Netossa! They're relationship is one of the big keystones of the season 5 conflict, so it's really important that we had this episode to get to know their chemistry.
Oh Shadow Weaver, how I love you. She's decided Catra and Adora don't have anything left to give her anymore, so she's switched to the vulnerable and easily manipulated new orphaned queen. Glimmer's one track mind on defeating the Horde makes her an ideal target, and Shadow Weaver is again successful in bending a child to her will.
The Glimmer and Catra fight! Glimmer's arc parallels Catra's, especially in this season. Of course she never falls as far as Catra, but I do love that we get just a taste of how this war can sour even the cute sparkle girl.
This final moment with Catra and Double Trouble, amazing. Catra has been mowing through friends, she's already pushed away all the genuine ones, and she's realizing that it sucks to be with people who aren't.
Best way to set up a sympathetic villain, give them a girlfriend lol. Light Hope is tragic, her programming tells her to protect and serve She-Ra, but also to follow her directive. It's something that conflicts in her psyche, and is another strong-suit of this show and it's masterfully written villains.
Princess Scorpia is one of the best episode of the series. Sure the Glimmer drama is nice, but Scorpia... Wow. The remnant of genocide raised in the most toxic place on the planet is the most kind, loving, loyal person to have ever lived. And yet she still chooses to leave. Catra was her crush, someone she saw herself with and promised to be by forever, but even she knows when there isn't anything left she can do. It's a wonderful message and a fantastic episode for one of the best characters in the show.
Mer-Mysteries is actually really well crafted, up until this point all the funny joke episodes have been self contained, but here that's subverted. It's shocking to see Mermista joking around throughout the episode only for it to end with her in utter shock and fear at seeing her home destroyed. Plus the reveal of Double Trouble is great.
Neither Hordak nor Angella was fully invested in winning the war in the first two seasons. It's a good way to escalate tension, as now the Horde's victories make a lot of sense because Hordak is suddenly extremely motivated to win thanks to Horde Prime. It makes the war the first season made such a big deal out of seem paultry in comparison to the slaughter we see now.
I love Sea Hawk so much, he's genuinely funny and endearing.
Bow singing to himself may be one of the most depressing moments is the show. This whole arc of Glimmer and Adora falling out is mostly set-up for Glimmer's choice to activate the heart alone, but it's still really well done and something I really enjoy watching. Something about two friends blowing up at each other, ripping each other apart while the third is left in the ruins is just the angst I can't resist. Catra realizing winning the war isn't giving her the closure she craves and finding out about Scorpia leaving is also a perfect parallel.
Mara is revealed to be a hero all along, what Light Hope painted as a crazed lunatic turned out to be a woman who saved the universe from her own people. It's a beautiful message, and the emotional attachment we feel with her and Razz causes the tears to well up again for what feels like the hundredth time.
The three cadets are great this season, not only do they get some time to shine but they also show how Catra's tyrannical rule is hurting the soldiers beneath her.
I love the moment where Glimmer pulls out the queen card. It's culmination of her arc since the second season, she is finally letting her hatred of the Horde consume her. That shot, the slow piano as it zooms in on her backlit by the fire. Probably one of my favorite scenes in the entire show.
This episode is a monster on my heart, the juxtaposition of Scorpia finally finding the support and kindness she deserves while Catra is suffering the consequences of her own actions. That one shot, a Catra smiling at the news of winning the war only to zoom out at a destroyed room where she collapses on the floor choking on her own tears is a masterpiece.
Even Beast Island gets a glow up
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Beast Island is beautifully Eldritch. A place that sucks away your fortitude and will until you're absorbed into it like a digesting stomach. The show does have a lot of moments where it really messes with the character's heads and I love it.
When the signal begins to take over, Bow feeling like he failed Glimmer, Micah realizing his wife is dead, Adora giving into her insecurities, Entrapta being overcome by the betrayal she's faced, all their eyes going gray and dead. It's emotional and terrifying, something this show excels at.
Shadow Weaver spends so much time manipulating children you'd think she'd have it down to a science, but it doesn't seem to ever work out for her in the end, does it?
Entrapta is a great character because every time she exposits she just sounds so enthusiastic, even when she's revealing terrifying truths, like how Adora's "noble destiny" is to exist as the universe's most dangerous gun.
I love how Double Trouble only had to tell Catra that She-Ra wasn't at Brightmoon, their scenes with Hordak and Catra was just for the drama. We got a great fight and Catra finally getting vibe checked, so I have to say DT well done. Their methods are cruel, but hearing someone say to her face that it's her fault people leave her, mixed with the dissatisfaction of winning while alone is the catalyst for Catra's redemption.
Light Hope is revealed to be the one who stole away Adora, the one who forced her destiny on her. Horde Prime may have been the final big bad, but Light Hope was the one responsible for everything. And Adora breaks the sword, ending her destiny as the First One's intended and saving Light Hope from her programming.
What an ominous ending! Hordak, the big bad from season 1, is left a squabbling mess defeated in seconds, and we are faced with a huge and terrifying new universe with seemingly no hope of going against. The stakes are the highest they've ever been, and even already knowing what happened it makes me excited for what comes next.
