Sensory Overload: The Hidden Obstacle to Brain Injury Recovery
The Negative Impact of Sensory Overload on Brain Injury Recovery
#RT Sensory Overload: The Hidden Obstacle to Brain Injury Recovery https://ctbraininjury.com/post/sensory-overload-the-hidden-obstacle-to-brain-injury-recovery… The Negative Impact of Sensory Overload on Brain Injury Recovery Brain injury recovery is a complex process that often involves various therapies and treatments to help patients regain their cognitive, emotional, and physical abilities. However, one of the lesser-known factors that can hinder recovery is sensory overload. This phenomenon occurs when the brain is inundated with information from the five senses--light, sound, taste, touch, and smell--and is unable to process it effectively. As a result, the brain perceives this as a threat and goes into fight, flight, or freeze mode, which can exacerbate symptoms and delay progress in rehabilitation. Increased Anxiety and Stress When the brain is overwhelmed by sensory input, it can trigger anxiety and stress responses. These heightened emotional states can exacerbate existing symptoms, such as headaches, dizziness, and cognitive difficulties. Moreover, chronic stress and anxiety can impair neuroplasticity, the brain's ability to adapt and rewire itself, which is crucial for recovery after an injury. #sensory overload, brain injury recovery, #rehabilitation, #anxietyty, #stresss, cognitive function, sleep disturbances, emotional dysregulation, calm environment, #neuroplasticity, #occupationaltherapy therapy, physical therapy, cognitive fatigue, sleep schedule, weighted blankets, fidget toys, gradual exposure, stimulating environments, professional support, neuropsychologist, sensory aids, interpersonal relationships, functional recovery, independence, sensory stimulation #tbisurvivor #tbirecovery #tbiawareness #strokesurvivor #strokeprevention #strokerecovery #stroke #strokeawareness #braininjury #braintumorsurvivor #brainhealth ABI Resources is a reputable organization that provides exceptional support to individuals and families in collaboration with various government agencies and community service providers, including the Connecticut Department of Social Services DSS, COU Community Options, the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services DMHAS, Connecticut Community Care CCC CCCI Southwestern Connecticut Area on Aging SWCAA, Western Connecticut Area on Aging WCAAA, Allied Community Resources ACR, Access Health, and United Services. Scent of Truth: Amortentia's Dilemma Unveiled Pt. 2
Word count: 1.7k
A/N: I have no clue where this is going and I am literally finding everything out as I write.
--------------------------
“So?” Fred asked impatiently when you opened your eyes suddenly in a very heavy shock. “Earth to you, ahoy? Ye hear me?”
“Ye, yes, I am very well aware of your babbling..” you murmur trying to push the potion away from your face and back into his hand. Your heart pounded in your chest as you struggled to process the overwhelming rush of emotions and memories triggered by the scent of the Amortentia potion. Fred's eyes bore into yours, his expression a mixture of curiosity and concern.
“So?” He asked again, his eyes burning with pure curiosity as he took the bottle from your hand and screwed it shut. As he was about to put the bottle away into his pocket (probably no longer fit to go back into the potion stand once opened) when a girl, a bit younger than you stepped forwards a bit and opened her mouth to say something, but Fred giggled and handed the potion to her. “Use it wisely, don’t make anyone go as bollocks as this one went.” He nodded his head towards you and the girl tightly squeezed the bottle in her hands before running away to her friends. She, for sure, was about to boast about the free potion she got from the Weasley himself.
“Why did you do that?” you demanded. “Are you crazy? That potion is not a toy.”
“Love, relax, it is just a potion, its effects don’t last longer than a day, let them play. By the way, she practically stared at you without blinking as you took a whiff, waiting for your reaction even more eagerly than me. Now back to you. So? Figured out what your smelled aroma reminds you of?”
You swallowed hard. To say what you smelled wasn’t the hard part. The hard part was now making a decision: whether you tell Fred everything that came to your understanding in this little period of time, or you altern the truth just a bit. "I smelled the ocean..." you say, your eyes lingering on his face a bit, “then there were the books. And…” You trailed off, unable to bring yourself to say his name out loud, you opened your mouth to say something and in a coughing form a sentence flew out of your mouth before you could register“ I really couldn't understand the last scent.”
For some reason, Fred found this utterly entertaining. It was probably the most fun he had experienced in weeks in this shop of his. Not that he ever grew bored with George around, oh no - far from it. They always found new mischievous ways of breaking something, of teasing someone, of making something new, that was potentially on the line of being dangerous. Fred cherished each and every product in his shop, but there was a delicious irony in the fact that the one item he never dared to lay a finger on, ever since he and George created it, was Amortentia.
“But did it confirm it?” his cheeky smile playing lightly on his lips, his eyes getting narrow slowly, he was curious. Could you blame him?
“What?” he saw you were completely absent from the conversation, he laughed a little at your response.
“I asked if that smell you didn’t recognise could’ve been the scent of a person you suddenly had feelings for?” he asked, prompting a frown from you in response. “Or was it something else and the feelings are the result of Amortentia for sure?” He lifted his eyebrows and wiggled them playfully.
Your thoughts came to a sudden halt, a momentary break in the flow of irrational thoughts. Perhaps it was because you needed that one little moment to gather everything that happened thus far, or maybe it was the exhaustion and lack of sleep finally catching up to you…Or maybe, and most realistically, it was shock. You were so sure of something that has just been proven wrong to you.
Your heartbeat quickened and blood flooded to your face. It all happened so unexpectedly, almost akin to the sensation of rising too swiftly from your bed - dizzy, lightheaded, and disoriented. It was as if the past couple of years had been a gradual unveiling, each moment serving as a subtle reminder of what you had failed to grasp.
The way your eyes would linger on him a little longer during class or dinner, the way you purposefully avoided taking a sweater with you on the evenings out of the Burrow, just in case he took one with himself to give to you. At the time everything seemed playful and stupid to you, but it was now, at this exact moment, that you grasped what all of that was for. And you didn’t really know what to do with this information now. You couldn’t tell him, that would be stupid, not only that would be so stupid, that would also make your friendship go south so fast, you would have no chance of redeeming it ever.
“I told you, I didn’t know what I smelled, it could’ve been anything.” You lie, but as you meet his penetrating gaze, a flicker of doubt creeps into your mind, suggesting that he may see through the facade you've hastily constructed. “It is Amortentia. Don’t worry, I won’t ask you to jinx anyone. The obsession is going to pass anyway, isn’t it?”
“Nah.” he shook his head. “I went through all this trouble not for you to shrug it off so easily. C’mon gimme a name. Tell me about a bloke who tried to made you obsessed.”
You hesitate, confronted with the abrupt realization that Fred isn’t about to let you slide out of this situation without a proper explanation. And that is quite a problem to you. You created this dumb situation yourself. You sought answers, and now the very person who is the problem and the answer, is now asking for the answer. It’s like he’s asking to name the problem when the problem itself is asking for a name.
"It's not like that," you protest weakly, but Fred raises an eyebrow skeptically, clearly unconvinced by your deflection.
"Sure, sure," he teases, his tone playful yet persistent.
“No, really, “ you smile at him kindly. “I think I panicked too early and now everything is settling down and the potion effects are wearing down, everything is fine. See? I am all better.”
He didn’t speak for a while then determination crossed his face, with his eyes slightly narrowed, jaw clenched, he crossed his arms on his chest. “The name, Y/N. I don’t care that the effects are wearing off.” He leaned a little closer towards you. “Nobody, and I mean no-bo-dy can use pranks on my friends, except me and George. Especially when it leaves our friends confused, or in your case,” he frowned, “all worked up.”
A brief silence hung between you two. Fred released an exasperated sigh and rolled his eyes. "Fine, have it your way then. Is that the gratitude I get for helping out?" He repeated the eye roll, this time accompanied by a playful tone which made you giggle. “Just teasing you.”
“I think I spent too much time here.” you remarked as Weasley Wizard Wheezes buzzed with activity, busy as ever. “I could use some fresh air…Oi!” you quickly yelp in a surprise. “You’ve started a delivery service?”
Fred follows your gaze up. About ten different owls have gathered themselves on the staircase railing. Each owl bore a small note attached to its leg, swiftly being removed by George.
“Oh yeah, we’ve started offering deliveries, “ Fred confirmed. “I should go help George with that. Sorry, Y/N. Things always get hectic near closing time. But please, stay for dinner, huh?”
Your heart gently leaped inside your chest.
“Fred, I stayed over for dinner like four days ago.”
Fred chuckled. "And you're still recovering from the shock of seeing our cooking skills, I understand," he teased back, his eyes glinting mischievously. "But seriously, it'd be nice to have you around. We can always use some company after a busy day."
You couldn't help but smile at Fred's invitation, feeling a warmth spread through you at the thought of spending more time with him. Despite your earlier hesitation, the idea of staying for dinner sounded more appealing by the second.
"I suppose I could stay for a bit," you relented, your smile widening. "But only if I get to make dinner this time. I'm not sure I can handle another round of your infamous cooking, you’re good at making your joke shop things, but your food…”
Fred's eyes lit up with amusement. "Deal," he replied, extending a hand toward you in mock formality. "Consider yourself officially hired as our sous chef for the evening."
You laughed, shaking his hand with a playful nod. "It's a deal then. Just don't expect any miracles in the kitchen." You were always happy to spend time with both of the twins. You were happy to have Fred around and to be around him. This new discoverie of feelings might get in the way of you actually enjoying his presence without overcomplicating or overthinking things. But how else were you supposed to understand what you were feeling?
How else were you supposed to be sure that it wasn’t just an Amortentia trick or something? If this dinner shows that you’re nothing but a friend, a sister to him, you will go on and live your life as if this revelation never happened.
But no matter the cost, you made a vow to yourself, no matter what happens, you will never ruin this friendship for the matter of your feelings.
“You know where to find the kitchen, don’t you? Go make yourself at home, we will be quick with you, after we finish with the owl deliveries.” he sent a wink your way as you turned to go up the stairs into their living area, which was above their joke shop.
Fred shook his head and moved to walk to his brother, before sending another curious look towards the Amortentia stand. It seemed dumb for him to admit it, but he felt happy. He felt happy you stayed for dinner, he felt happy that you let him help. That you came to him when you needed help. But mostly, he felt happy that whatever you were feeling for someone will go away as the last potion drop wears away.

verse ; vampire
in order to become a vampire a person must be bitten and injected with vampiric venom before being drained of their blood. the turning point for a person can vary from minutes to a full week. this is due to a number of factors; how healthy the person is, how much venom was injected, how much blood was drained. turning can also be delayed if the new vampire does not receive blood and instead must wait for hunger to kick in.
death can only be achieved by long exposure to sunlight, removal of the head, and a stake through the heart. the exposure to sunlight can depending on how strong and old the vampire is. newly turned vampires will die in about 24 hours or less. some older vampires have been known to survive several days before meeting death again. a stake through the heart will only work with certain types of wood and if the wood is blessed. it must pierce the heart fully and not be removed.
feeding will entirely depend on the vampire. some require blood daily while others can go weeks even months without feeding. the older a vampire is the less they need to feed, however they become hungry for blood because its engrained into their system at that point. blood is best fresh and from human sources. larger animals can be fed from however they often pose challenges. if the blood is any way diseased or affected by alcohol or drugs it will affected the feeding vampire. it is best for a vampire to drink blood that closely matches theirs. in the modern society it has become easier to find out blood types. however in the past it has led to numerous instances. every vampire reacts differently to blood types. some become intoxicated, some violently ill, others turn wild. but it doesn't matter in the end, the longer a vampire goes without feeding the more likely they are to go into a feral blood rage.
a vampire can compel humans however it is an art that needs to be practiced. it can only be done on a weaker mind that is susceptible to suggestions. making a human forget certain events is tricky and given time a human will always remember. the compulsion can be broken if; the vampire dies, eye contact is broken before it can set, another creature (usually magical) lift the compulsion.
almost all vampires can turn into some sort of bat. the species is not one recognised by science, or if it is they are long extinct. like other skills it is one that needs to be practiced. newly turned vampires are most often at risk of turning into a bat by accident and being unable to turn back for weeks or months at a time. often resulting in the vampire being unable to feed and starving to death. without proper training the art of turning into another creature can be lethal. while the vampire retains their mind they will have all the attributes of the creature. from their mortal injuries to their hearing, sight, and energy. there are rumours of ancient vampires turning into mist or birds. however amongst modern vampires it is nothing more than folk tales.
a vampire can heal from any mortal injury. the severity of the injury will depend on the age of the vampire. drinking blood after an injury will speed the healing process up. but it should take no more than 24 hours for a vampire to recover.
a vampire has greater speed, hearing, sense of smell, eyesight, and strength. the first few weeks after turning can be brutal for a newly turned vampire. in this time they have to finely tune their abilities and skills lest they come to madness. their senses are most heightened after feeding.
though a vampire physically does not require sleep it is suggested they find some sort of rest to let their mind relax. a vampire can go days, even weeks without sleep. but will find themselves slipping into madness the longer they put it off.
holy water and crosses have little effect on a vampire. to truly bless an item it must come from a true believer of a church that knows the old ways. modern holy water will do nothing to a vampire. the cross myth steamed from long ago stories told in a time when the church was actively seeking vampires. and those turned had once been worshipers. but with more religions taking place in modern society the cross has lost all its meaning.
a vampire cannot see its reflection, many believed it was because they have no soul. while those turned long ago believed it to make them better predators. modern mirrors have managed to change this. however their image can't be seen as clearly. a vampire still cannot be captured on any sort of film.
sire bonds are incredibly rare and require a trust and compulsion that starts long before a person is turned. a vampire has no loyalty to their maker and more often than not those turned have been against their will or by mistake. a vampire will not die when their sire dies. however older vampires do believe that a strong blood tree can help further strengthen a vampire's abilities, it has yet to be proven.
vampires will not have familiars though through history they often have companions. humans that either used for blood or for tasks. the compulsion on companions often fades over time. it is a practice that has died out in modern times, with the rise of technology there is no need to run errands during the day. however some older vampires still keep willing companions around. it is a practice often frowned upon by modern vampires. some modern vampires do make deals with humans for blood. the situation will vary depending on the person. vampires by nature are untrusting and the need to keep their immortality a secret is at the forefront of every vampire's mind. they often opt out of keeping a regular companion for blood, not wanting to risk their secrets.

Exploring Behavioral Challenges in Children with Autism
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition characterized by differences in social communication, behavior, and sensory processing. Children with autism often experience unique behavioral challenges that can impact their daily lives and interactions with others. Understanding these behaviors is crucial for parents, caregivers, and educators to support children with autism more effectively. This article will explore some common behavioral challenges in children with autism, their possible causes, and strategies for managing them to create a supportive environment for growth and development.
Common Behavioral Challenges in Children with Autism
Children with autism may exhibit a range of behavioral challenges that can vary in intensity. While each child's experiences are unique, some common behaviors associated with autism include:
Repetitive Behaviors and Restricted Interests
Repetitive behaviors, also known as "stimming," are one of the hallmark characteristics of autism. These behaviors may include actions like hand-flapping, rocking, spinning objects, or repeating specific words or phrases. Additionally, children with autism often have restricted interests and may become highly focused on a particular topic, object, or activity.
These repetitive actions and fixations can be a way for children to self-soothe or manage sensory input from their environment. Although these behaviors may seem unusual to others, they often provide a sense of comfort or predictability for the child.
Difficulty with Transitions
Children with autism often struggle with transitions or changes in routine. They may become upset, anxious, or exhibit challenging behaviors when asked to shift from one activity to another, even if it's something as simple as moving from playtime to mealtime. Predictable routines help children with autism feel secure, and any disruption to these routines can lead to frustration or distress.
Understanding this difficulty with transitions can help caregivers prepare children for changes by using visual schedules, countdown timers, or giving them advance notice of upcoming events.
Aggressive or Self-Injurious Behavior
Aggressive behavior, such as hitting, kicking, or biting, and self-injurious behavior like head-banging or hand-biting can occur in some children with autism. These behaviors may be a response to overwhelming sensory experiences, frustration, or difficulties in communicating needs and emotions.
It's important to note that aggressive and self-injurious behaviors are often a form of communication. The child might be expressing discomfort, fear, or a need for help in managing their feelings. Identifying the underlying cause of these behaviors is crucial for addressing them effectively.
Communication Difficulties
Communication challenges are common in children with autism, which can lead to frustration and behavioral outbursts. Some children with autism may have limited verbal skills, while others might use alternative forms of communication like gestures or picture exchange systems. Misunderstandings due to communication barriers can result in meltdowns or disruptive behaviors when the child is unable to express their needs or feelings.
Supporting the child's preferred method of communication and teaching new ways to express themselves can help reduce frustration and improve social interactions.
Sensory Sensitivities
Many children with autism have heightened sensitivity to sensory stimuli, such as bright lights, loud sounds, strong smells, or certain textures. These sensory sensitivities can lead to sensory overload, where the child feels overwhelmed by their environment, causing distress or behavioral reactions.
Managing sensory sensitivities often involves creating a sensory-friendly environment that minimizes triggers and providing tools like noise-canceling headphones, sensory fidgets, or weighted blankets to help the child self-regulate.
Understanding the Causes of Behavioral Challenges
Behavioral challenges in children with autism are not random; they often have specific triggers or underlying causes. Understanding these causes is essential for developing strategies to manage and reduce challenging behaviors. Some common factors that contribute to behavioral challenges in children with autism include:
Communication Barriers
One of the primary reasons for challenging behavior is difficulty in communication. When a child with autism cannot express their needs, wants, or feelings effectively, they may resort to behaviors like crying, screaming, or aggression to convey their message. Improving communication skills can significantly reduce these types of behaviors.
Sensory Overload
Children with autism may experience sensory overload when they are exposed to too much sensory input at once. This could be due to loud noises, bright lights, or even a crowded environment. Sensory overload can cause anxiety, fear, and a desire to escape the situation, leading to disruptive behaviors.
Need for Routine and Predictability
A strong preference for routines and predictability is common among children with autism. Changes in their daily schedule or unfamiliar situations can lead to anxiety and challenging behaviors. Understanding the importance of routine and preparing the child for any changes can help alleviate this anxiety.
Frustration and Anxiety
Frustration from not being understood or from not understanding the expectations placed on them can lead to increased anxiety in children with autism. This anxiety may manifest as aggressive behavior, meltdowns, or withdrawal. Providing clear instructions and setting realistic expectations can help reduce frustration.
Strategies for Managing Behavioral Challenges
Effective strategies for managing behavioral challenges in children with autism involve a combination of understanding, communication, and consistent support. Here are some techniques that can help:
Positive Reinforcement
Positive reinforcement is a powerful tool in encouraging desired behaviors. When a child displays positive behavior, such as using words to express their needs or following a routine, praise or reward them immediately. Rewards can be small tokens, favorite activities, or words of encouragement. Reinforcing good behavior increases the likelihood that the child will repeat it.
Visual Supports
Visual supports like picture schedules, social stories, or visual cues can help children with autism understand what to expect and prepare for transitions. These tools break down tasks into manageable steps and provide a visual representation of their daily routine, making it easier for the child to follow.
Structured Environment
Creating a structured environment with clear routines and expectations can significantly reduce anxiety in children with autism. Knowing what to expect next gives the child a sense of control and predictability, making them feel more secure and less likely to act out.
Teach Coping Skills
Helping children with autism develop coping skills to manage their emotions is crucial for reducing challenging behaviors. Techniques such as deep breathing, counting, or using a sensory tool can help them calm down when they are feeling overwhelmed. Teaching these skills early can empower children to handle difficult situations more independently.
Address Sensory Needs
Understanding and addressing the sensory needs of a child with autism can prevent sensory overload and related behaviors. Create a sensory-friendly space at home or in the classroom where the child can retreat when they need to calm down. Provide sensory tools, such as fidget toys or weighted blankets, to help them self-regulate.
When to Seek Professional Help
While some behavioral challenges can be managed with strategies at home, there are times when professional help is necessary. If your child's behaviors are severe, persistent, or interfering with their daily life, it may be time to seek support from a specialist. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy are effective approaches that can provide targeted support to address specific behaviors and enhance the child’s skills.

Each step taken to understand and support a child with autism is a step toward helping them thrive and reach their full potential.

World of the Horny Apocalypse
The Horny Apocalypse series is an alternate universe where a highly infectious pathogen known as the Lust Virus reeks havoc across the globe.
Disclaimer: First and foremost, the virus is only capable of infecting a fully developed brain. Infected individuals are not driven to go after anyone who isn't at least twenty-one to twenty-five years of age. Additionally, the Lust Virus is unable to infect hosts that have gone through menopause and andropause. As the organs are no longer viable for the virus's production. All individuals in Horny Apocalypse stories are of age.
Of unknown origins, the Lust Virus is an airborne pathogen with a 98% infection rate among men. Once infected, the host slowly begins to lose their sense of self while their internal body temperature rises. While the virus is present throughout the body, it is most abundant in the host's genitalia where it has sterilized and gradually ramped up sperm production. The intense rising heat can be maddening for the host's declining mental state and typically results in them tearing off their own clothes to feel any sense of relief.
The virus seems to defy normal biological conventions, as it preserves all of the host's internal organs from the intense heat. This effect creates a purge inside the body; killing off any existing viruses, bacteria, or infections. Any potential surviving abnormalities are killed off by the Lust Virus itself, effectively curing its host of all disease. Other physical changes include the eyes becoming so foggy, that they appear completely whitened, while the most visually notable symptom is the enhanced genitalia from the increased blood pumping. A host with a two-four inch erection easily becomes enlarged to seven-eight inches. This infection process can take anywhere between four to twenty four hours, until the host has been purged of all disease, loses all self consciousness and has become a vessel for the virus.
The virus is seemingly incapable of spreading between male to female hosts with one exception. The male host is driven by the virus with absolute determination to seek out and infect a host of the opposite sex via seminal injection (e.g. vagina, anus, or mouth). This is where the virus shows off another unique attribute. Not only does it enhance the male's genitalia and production of sperm, but it also alters their sense of smell. An infected male is capable of smelling a breedable female from as far as a half a mile (800 m) away. When the female is aroused by any means, the infected male can detect them as far as three miles (4.8 km) away.
Once an infected male has successfully injected the contaminated semen into the female host, the infection process begins and is completed in as little as forty minutes to two hours (depending on how much seminal fluid is injected inside her, as more quantities can speed up the process).. The female will begin to feel warm as the virus takes hold of their body, where it settles into the brain. The production of dopamine and ecstasy gradually increases, driving them into an intense lust filled state until not only all of their inhibitions are gone, but just like the male, their self consciousness as well. This drives the female to crave continuous use of all its cavities and will seek out other males, regardless of infection, in an attempt to procreate and spread the virus through fluids to anyone who isn't immune. The most notable side effect is the virus's ability to induce a false pregnancy, slightly increasing breast size and ramping up milk production, without the host ever developing a child.
Note: Even after an infected male successfully injects the virus into a female, the male will continue to thrust and pleasure himself until the ballsack is completely drained. Usually by the time one male is finished, another has already recharged and is ready to continue the onslaught of penetration.

Tips For Professional Odor Removal in Pittsburgh and Monroeville, PA
A stinking home or workplace is a huge turn-off. Moreover, experiencing the malodors 24/7 can result in frayed tempers and bickering inside the home. Unfortunately, bad smells do not always come from a single source. Spraying disinfectants and deodorants may not be the right solution either. It is essential to contact a company that is noted for the best professional odor removal in Pittsburgh and Monroeville, PA. Unable to discover the source of the stink or rotting smell is a problem as there is no way to get rid of it. It helps to know that the following are almost always identified as the root cause of spreading foul smells:
· Sewer · Lingering Smoke · Mold · Gas · Trash · Pets · Decaying Animals
No worries! The professional team will arrive with the necessary equipment. They are sure to wear protective clothing to prevent being contaminated, too. Moreover, they will have the residents secluded and moved into a safe area before initiating the process, which includes the following:-
Identification of the source of the malodor physically and/or by use of equipment & techniques Segregating the area completely to eliminate the residents being affected by strong chemicals and other products
The following will be used to ensure no odor remains lingering afterward.
· Masking agents- These agents mask the strong, base odor and spread a pleasant odor, thus masking the stink. Simply spraying them in the air will not be effective.
· Pairing agents-This is a better option for getting rid of mal odors. These agents are specific chemicals that combine with the molecules from the source of mal odors to change the molecules responsible for the foul smell completely.
· Filtration Agents-The professionals may decide to use activated carbon filters to eliminate the bad smell. These filters can effectively reduce smells emanating from the kitchen or wastewater. The granulated carbon particles positioned between the synthetic fiber layers can hold the odor, thus keeping the spread in check.
· Oxidation- The professionals may add oxygen to the source to facilitate oxidation. The molecules responsible for the odor are transformed entirely, and the smell disappears magically. The oxidizers may be in liquid or powder form. A few oxidizers also generate ozone gas electronically from a device.
· Enzyme digesters- Both artificial enzymes and bio-enzymes are utilized to speed up the process of decay. This system works wonderfully when the source is organic. The decomposition process is completed within minutes, leaving the bacteria with no organic matter to act upon. This prevents the malodors from affecting individuals in the area.
· Air purification- The air purification technique improves air quality by removing suspended contaminants and allergens. The air purifiers must have carbon filters to eliminate noxious gases and mal odors.
Discovering the death of a loved one after days or weeks can be troubling. Using the assistance of certified professionals for unattended death cleanup in Pittsburgh and Monroeville, PA, can help the family members move on.

Can Hernia Surgery Cause Urinary Problems?
Hernia repair is a routine surgery that is performed with the purpose of fixing the opening in the abdominal wall where some complications such as Enteroptosis may occur. Despite this, as with most forms of medication it is expected that patients may experience some symptoms of possible side effects such as the urinary system. This blog aims at discussing whether or not hernia surgery in Jabalpur results in urinary complications and if it does it will explain what they are, and how one can deal with them.
Understanding Hernia Surgery
What Is a Hernia?
Hernia refers to a situation where a soft tissue or an organ protrudes through a hole in the muscle or the muscular tissue wall. Among all the types of hernias, the most frequent one is the inguinal hernia which is situated in the groin area and more widespread among males. The signs range from a visible lump and slight swelling to extreme levels of pain.
The Surgical Procedure
Hernia surgery involves a process of correcting the position of the protruding tissue and tightening the weak region and in most cases; the surgeon has to use a mesh to improve the strength of the region. It can be done through an open procedure or laparoscopic hernia surgery in Jabalpur procedure depending on the expectation of having a permanent cure and to minimize the chances of the condition reoccurring.
Potential Urinary Problems after Hernia Surgery:
Urinary Retention
One of the most common urinary problems after hernia operation in Jabalpur is urinary retention, where the patient is unable to empty the bladder completely. This condition can result from several factors:
Anesthesia: The use of anesthesia during surgery can temporarily affect bladder function.
Pain Medications: Postoperative pain medications, especially opioids, can also contribute to urinary retention.
Swelling and Inflammation: The surgical area may swell, impacting nearby organs, including the bladder and urethra.
Dysuria (Painful Urination)
Some patients may experience dysuria, or painful urination, following hernia surgery. This can be due to:
Catheter Use: The insertion of a urinary catheter during hernia surgery in Jabalpur can cause temporary irritation or infection.
Post-Surgical Inflammation: Inflammation from the surgical site may exert pressure on the urinary tract, leading to discomfort.
Managing Urinary Problems Post-Surgery
Immediate Postoperative Care
Bladder Monitoring: Nurses and medical staff will monitor bladder function closely immediately after surgery to ensure that the patient can urinate properly.
Medication Adjustments: Adjusting pain medications can help reduce the risk of urinary retention.
Home Care and Follow-Up
Hydration: Staying well-hydrated helps maintain urinary tract health and promotes regular urination.
Bladder Training: Some patients might benefit from bladder training exercises to restore normal function.
Medical Advice: If urinary problems persist, it is crucial to consult with a healthcare provider. They may recommend further evaluation or treatments such as alpha-blockers, which can help relax the muscles of the urinary tract.
When to Seek Medical Attention
While some urinary issues are temporary and resolve on their own, it’s important to seek medical attention if you experience:
Severe Pain: Intense pain during urination or an inability to urinate should be addressed immediately.
Signs of Infection: Symptoms such as fever, chills, or cloudy and foul-smelling urine could indicate a urinary tract infection (UTI).
Persistent Symptoms: If urinary problems continue beyond a few days post-surgery, a follow-up with your healthcare provider is necessary to rule out any complications.
Incontinence or acute renal failure may be accompanied by urinary retention or painful micturition after hernia operations. However, these problems are usually amenable and thus usually decrease as the body recovers from surgery. One should always ensure that they get to read and be more of a pro when it comes to postoperative operations. It is always important to inform your hernia surgeon in Jabalpur of any issue you are experiencing so that you can receive the right care at the right time.
Information on this area can help a patient who is about to undergo laparoscopic hernia surgery in Jabalpur to have an understanding of what to expect in terms of urinary tract complications and how they can be handled. In conclusion, this blog has highlighted some of the urinary complications that may occur in hernia surgery patients and the measures that can be taken to manage them for superior patient care.

It’s 6 Mar 2024, continuing from earlier. Just had an interesting thought, that I experience a heuristic, a patch, a renormalization if I can get there, when the results of me continuing this work come out less than optimal for me, for my current well being, for the efficiency of something measurable like money in my pocket, like not having to worry about money all the time, which is the way most people live, though not perhaps because they’re obligated to this work and its quality of being an inescapable burden.
A renormalization if I can get there. Can I? I have no idea where to start. Renormalization takes actual and the fact that actual Attaches to 1Space, which enables the gap to be treated using idealized conceptions because those are the 1Space idealizations which fill that gap. What else can they be? It’s the same as with the Informational Limit. View it as 3, as an SBE: there’s this space that we know and sometimes love, sometimes hate, sometimes feel a part of, sometimes feel detached from, and we’re in that space and can’t see past or out of it, and then there’s an intermediary Between which consists of those idealizations, of all that gs process which either converges to some End or diverges, and I have no idea what that means. What does it mean? A specific location in the infinite or something perhaps hyperbolic. Beats me. It feels like divergence can identify what is being diverged from because each divergence is unique, at least up to some count.
Identifies an End by exclusion? Infers. Example would be that a predator stays out of the lines of perception of the prey. Each of those, like smell or movement or sound or associated effects on others, has an area of convergence in the sense that it can detect or not and detect can be measured in some way, often by area and direction. This constructs a divergence from getting into perception. This includes pretending while visible.
The argument is similar to tunneling through a lattice. The stuff I’m perceiving now is old Storyline: the way to cut off or to enhance lattice throughput is through CR imposing multiple NP layers. As in, fit an impossibility to each Pathway, where an impossibility is at an Attachment, meaning not intruding into the 0Space.
I have a few things I’ve been unable to get out. Not sure why. One is that I think the cat has a certain amount of activity needs and those can be filled up. Same for a dog or any animal. This is because being aware requires activity.
Wow, I just found out we have maybe $1000 less money each month than anticipated. That’s going to hurt a lot. I don’t know if I’ll be able to afford to stay alive much longer. Wow. That’s a blow I truly didn’t expect. We got a social security statement showing one number and the web says much, much less.
That wasn’t the other thing. The other thing is that for a long time now I’ve rattled on in my head and in words that I’m not part of your life, that I’m not visible in it. And I argue with myself over the extent to which my conception of you as a being is reasonable, or if I’m making all this up, or if this is all being told to me like a story and this happens to be the story which associates to me and to you but without any connection. And I’m drawn repeatedly into this tangle of why this is happening then, and the best retort so far is that this is the life which grabbed me, which is being played out for me, and that it has no bearing on anything else, that all the Mission stuff is part of the invention, that this isn’t some great plot but a small plot isolated to me and the few people to whom I directly connect. And that would be my curse, maybe a Cursed Man is my real name, to work out all this material to never know it is true. I am old and have no reputation to get anyone to pay attention to anything I might contribute. In the Storyline, this translates into mutual need pairings, but that assume Storyline is real beyond me.

Four Ways To Make Better Choices Making
A business manager is continually faced with having to make choices. There are a lot of choices I'm sure range from simple to complex and difficult. There's a chance that you're making use of instruments for making decisions if you've received formal business training. They include pareto analysis as well as force field analyses as well as decision trees, six thinking hats etc. You probably use the scientific method that you learned at junior high. Results are what matter, regardless of whether you employ a formal approach or an instinctive one. The following tips can ensure that your decision-making is effective and precise.
1. Challenge your gut feelings
All of us have the tendency to follow the gut feelings of ours. Unfortunately, gut feelings typically arise when you don't have enough data, sufficient details or even any details about an important decision. In this case it's normal to feel angry. It is important to challenge your feelings and get advice from people you trust. Also, you need to counter your gut feelings whenever you can with evidence. If you don't have any facts to go on the intuition you have can be as valuable like any other instrument for making decisions. Instincts are superior to facts, however the right information could lead to a winning hand. Check out the post right here to discover a useful reference about random country.
2. Limit your options.
The most difficult choices aren't difficult to make. Making a decision can be very difficult in the event that the potential risks are not clear, or your options aren't worth your time. To make the right decision, you must accept that your options are limited and use all your faculties and emotions to come up with the right conclusion. solving the issue. Anything less will not only cause more damage and cause more problems and smells later on. Accept that reality is what it is rather than what you wish it to be. Choose one of the alternatives that may not be perfect.
3. Incubation is a process that takes some time.
Many business leaders claim that their greatest ideas come to them when they are away from the front lines, e.g. out of the office or flying around through the shower and so on. The evidence suggests that a calm mind, or at the very least one that isn't overloaded with regard to an issue allows more clarity and innovative thinking. If you're able to spare the time, take this time to allow yourself the best chance to develop your thoughts prior to making the decision-making. Simply step away from the decision temporarily before returning to it after your brain has had a chance to relax. Don't delay the decision for longer than.
4. Get it reviewed by the pros
There is no way to be an expert. The business world is too complicated for business leaders to be an expert in the areas of finance, operations and sales, marketing, human resources, customer service and so on. If you are making a choice that is beyond your comfort zone, more crucially, outside your expertise zone, ask yourself what's the upside and downside of this choice? If you are unable to live with or accept an unsatisfactory outcome you should bring the help of an expert. It is essential to choose a real expert, and not just someone slightly better informed than you. Yes, you will most likely have to pay for their expertise however, if it will help to achieve the outcomes you're looking for, wouldn't it be worth the cost?
If you have considered all of the above, and have taken another step or two when necessary, now is the time to decide. Do not get bogged down by your analysis and just go for your decision. There are few perfect decisions. Take your lessons from mistakes make improvements from them and use these tips for the next big decision you make in order to obtain what you desire.

How To Remove Radon From Water: 3 Effective Methods
Radon is one of the most dangerous drinking water contaminants because of its ability to contaminate the air inside your home. In this guide, we've shared everything you need to know about how to remove radon from water with our top 3 recommended methods. 📌 Key Takeaways: - Radon is a radioactive gas that dissolves in water and may be released into the air in your home if it's present in your drinking water supply. - The best ways to remove radon from water are with granular activated carbon, aeration and in many cases water distilling. - To prevent radon from entering your home's indoor air, choose a system that's installed at water's point of entry into your home. 🤔 What Is Radon & Where Does It Come From? Radon is a radioactive gas that's found naturally in rocks and soils in the ground. Ground water supplies are most likely to contain radon because radon gases dissolve into the water in underground aquifers. Unlike surface water supplies, these gases can't be easily released into the air. Radon in the water has no taste, smell, or odor, so the only way to detect it is with a radon test. Not all drinking water is at risk of radon contamination, but if you're concerned about this contaminant, test your water as soon as possible. 🩺 Potential Health Effects of Radon The most dangerous and likely potential health effect of radon exposure is lung cancer. Radon has been linked to thousands of lung cancer deaths per year, and is also known to cause other internal organ cancers, including stomach cancer. Despite radon's known health effects, the EPA doesn't currently have a maximum radon concentration for radon (although an MCL of 4,000 pCi/L was proposed in the 1996 Amendments to the Safe Drinking Water Act). Your local state might have an enhanced indoor air program for airborne radon, and community water systems should take the appropriate action to reduce radon in the water used for public drinking. If you want to learn more about radon and its health effects, including how to know if your water contains radon, check out our radon in drinking water guide. 🧪 How To Test For Radon In Water Our top recommended method of testing for radon in water is to use a laboratory water test. There are tens of certified laboratories in the US that provide accurate water tests for radon on its own, or for radionuclides (including radon) or a selection of common well water contaminants (including radon). To use a laboratory water test to detect radon, follow these steps: - Buy the test and wait for the equipment to be shipped to your home. - Take a couple of samples of water in the included vials, then post the samples to the laboratory to be analyzed. - Wait for 1-2 weeks for the water to be tested. - Read through your test results (usually delivered by email) and determine whether you should take action based on the detected radon levels. Keep in mind that dissolved radon gas isn't only released into the air from your drinking water supply. Indoor air may also have high levels of radon due to radon gas getting into your home via cracks and small holes. For that reason, we recommend also looking into a radon air testing kit. This method of radon testing will tell you for certain whether or not your indoor air contains radon, regardless of whether radon is present in your drinking water. ✅ How to Remove Radon from Drinking Water There are three water treatment methods that we feel are best for removing radon from drinking water. Granular Activated Carbon Filters Granular activated carbon filters (GAC) pull radon particles out of the water using a process like adsorption. Imagine placing a sponge in water. The sponge will gradually pick up the water molecules - just as an activated carbon filter gradually adsorbs contaminants as water flows through the filter media. Once trapped, the radon particles are unable to re-enter your water supply. There are a few different configurations of GAC filters, including water filter pitchers and under-sink filters. However, we recommend a POE (point-of-entry) GAC filter installed upstream of your hot water heater, which will reduce your water's radon levels before it enters your home. This means you'll have more guaranteed protection against radon gases in your indoor air. Plus, large POE GAC filters have a much larger surface area, so don't get clogged as rapidly and last longer, so they're easier to maintain. A point-of-entry GAC filter is the ideal solution if you want to avoid radon exposure in the water you drink - and the water you shower in, wash your dishes and clothes in, and use in all appliances and fixtures in your home. There are two common GAC filter types for whole home use: - Tank-based GAC filters ($650-$1,250) - These use a large tank pre-loaded with GAC media, and they keep the media fresh with regular backwashing. Tank-based GAC filters are the best choice for people who want to keep maintenance to a minimum because their media lasts longer due to the regular backwashing. - Cartridge-based GAC filters ($300-$750) - These use one or several filter cartridges, with one cartridge or more containing GAC media. Once the media is saturated with contaminants, the cartridge must be changed. Cartridge-based GAC filters are better for people with smaller budgets who prefer to spend less money upfront on a system that needs more frequent maintenance. Pros of GAC filter for radon removal: - It's an affordable method. GAC filters are cheaper than other water treatment systems for reducing radon levels. - It's natural and safe. This type of radon gas mitigation system doesn't add any chemicals or other harsh contaminants to your water. - It requires minimal maintenance. You just need to replace the filter every few months or years media according to the manufacturer's instructions. Cons of GAC filter for radon removal: - It needs to be safely disposed of. Once the GAC media is saturated with contaminants, you'll need to determine a safe way to dispose of it that won't release radon gas back into the environment. - It'll become a source of high radon concentrations. You might be concerned about allowing radon to build up to high concentrations inside the filter media. Aeration Units Aeration is another type of POE (point-of-entry) water system that's effective in removing radon from water. We recommend aeration units in homes that have high radon levels because this water treatment method is the most effective and offers the most guaranteed radon reduction. An aeration system causes radon gases to break down by sending air bubbles through the water. These particles can then be transported out of the water and blown away with a fan. There are a few different aeration treatment units, but they all have the same purpose: to cause the radon gas to escape by agitating the water. The spray aeration unit is one of the most common aeration system types. This type of radon mitigation system uses a nozzle to spray the contaminated water into a tank. These sprayed water droplets have an increased surface area, which causes radon to be released and carried out of the tank via a vent leading outside your home. Like a GAC filter, an aeration system is a point of entry unit, meaning that radon in the water should be significantly reduced before the water even enters your home. So, as with a GAC filter, all the water that you use in your home should be virtually radon-free, reducing the risk of breathing radon in your indoor air. The typical cost of a POE aeration system is $4,500. Pros of aeration for radon removal: - It's highly effective. Aeration treatment units offer the most effective method of reducing dissolved radon levels, eliminating up to 99% of this radioactive gas. - It doesn't cause radon to accumulate. Radon is vented out of an aeration system at a constant rate, so radioactive particles never build up inside the unit. - You don't have to worry about radon disposal. Aeration units don't contain filter media, so you never need to dispose of a filter that has a high radon concentration. Cons of aeration for radon removal: - It's more expensive. This method of radon treatment is more expensive than any other because the system is complex and additional installation processes are needed (such as vent installation). - It's affected by your water quality. High concentrations of manganese or iron in your water will reduce the effectiveness of this treatment method. Water Distillation Water distillation takes place in a water distiller. This type of water treatment system boils water, then condenses the water vapor into a separate container. This is for POU (point-of-use) and you need to check with manufacturer to verify that radon is addressed through the unit you are looking at. Most contaminants are unable to evaporate and condense with water, so they're left behind in the boiling chamber. A water distiller is a countertop unit that distills batches of water at a time. The clean, distilled water can be used for drinking, filling irons and steamers, and adding to fish tanks and car cooling systems. Pros of water distillation for radon removal: - It doesn't add anything to your water. Distillation uses the natural process of heating and cooling to purify your water. - Maintenance is minimal. There's only one carbon post-filter to replace (if you choose to use it). Otherwise, you'll just need to keep the boiling chamber clean. - It removes hundreds of other contaminants. Distillation produces purified water that's free from virtually all other drinking water contaminants. Cons of water distillation for radon removal: - It's not an instant treatment method. Water distillation takes hours. A 1-gallon batch of distilled water takes about 5 hours to produce. - It's not an effective POE solution. Water distillers are only sold as point-of-use units for residential use. See more in the below paragraphs. An important note about water distillation: Most water distillers are installed as countertop units and are designed to distill water from your kitchen faucet. We've included water distillers in this list because they do effectively remove radon, however, we DON'T recommend them in most situations because they're not installed at your main water pipe's POE, which means they don't prevent radon gas from entering your home's indoor air from your shower heads and faucets. A distiller is only a good option if you want to remove radon from a water source that has been collected outside your home or you only have trace levels of radon in your water. 🥇 Which Water Filters Are Best For Radon Removal? The best types of water filters for radon mitigation are systems that can treat water containing radon before it enters your home. That means you can effectively protect your family from breathing radon gas in your indoor air, because radon doesn't even have a chance to get into your home via your water supply. You can buy granular activated carbon filters and aeration units for point-of-entry filtration, so we recommend these water treatment systems above any other system (including a water distiller) for that reason. There are a couple of other things you should consider when deciding on the best water filter for radon removal: - Your upfront and long-term budget - Your installation and maintenance preferences Since radon is such a dangerous gas, it's best to invest in a system sold by a reputable brand that offers guaranteed radon removal. The extra upfront cost is worth it for the reassurance of radon-free drinking water and clean, safe indoor air. Remember to check customer feedback and professional reviews before you spend your money. 5 Surprising Symptoms of a Faulty Oxygen Sensor in BMW
Modern cars are equipped with various smart devices for monitoring various processes. These are mostly the sensors. Sensors help in better working of the car. They help in making the car more efficient. But the sensors have a limited lifetime. They may fail due to various reasons. Some faulty sensors give such signs which can be very much surprising. Her I’m gonna discuss about some surprising symptoms of a faulty oxygen sensor in BMW.
O2 sensors in BMW
The O2 sensors are present near the exhaust system. The work of the sensor is to monitor the amount of oxygen present in the gasses coming out of the engine as a result of combustion of fuel. The main reason behind such work of the O2 sensor is to make the amount of oxygen and fuel entering into the engine remain in definite proportion. The air and fuel enters into the combustion chamber where they form a mixture. The spark plugs burn the mixture resulting in production of combustion byproducts or burned gasses and large amount of heat. When the fuel is completely burned, it is taken out of the engine and then the O2 sensor detects the amount of O2 present in the gas. Because oxygen is used during combustion. If the oxygen amount in the burned gas is high then there is a high chance that the combustion is not happening properly in the engine. Then it sends signals to the ECU or engine control unit which controls many components in the engine. After receiving signals, it makes a change in the fuel and air amount that is entering into combustion chamber so that combustion process can happen perfectly and enough power will be generated without loss of fuel. There should be a correct proportion of air and fuel in the mixture so that combustion process can happen perfectly.
Sometimes the O2 sensor itself becomes bad due to various reasons. It becomes unable to carry out its functions properly. The reason can be that the sensor have become excessively dirty or the cables connected to the sensors have become bad. Even leaking of coolant on the sensor can make it faulty.
Signs of failing O2 sensor
Sputtering of engine
The engine sputtering happens if the combustion in the engine has become inconsistent. Problems in the combustion process can lead to production of such unusual noises. And such problems would occur mainly when the O2 sensor is faulty.
Engine stalling
Stalling of engine means that the engine is failing to accelerate the car. The accelerator becomes less effective. This occurs due to low power issue. The performance of the engine may drop.
Rotten egg smell inside the cabin
The smell of sulphide or rotten eggs are usually very unpleasant and this can disturb you much while driving. As the O2 sensor fails, the wrong signals from it can make the engine to have more fuel than required. The unused fuel after combustion remain in engine for a very long time and produce such an unpleasant smell.
Black smoke from exhaust
Lot of smoke coming out of exhaust is always an unusual sign, because a good combustion process never leads to production of more smoke from exhaust. If the O2 sensor is faulty, then you will also notice a black colored smoke coming out of tailpipe. This smoke can be easily noticed by the rear view mirror.
Fuel economy decreases
A faulty O2 sensor leads to incorrect air and fuel ratio in the air fuel mixture. This leads to a bad combustion process and the vehicle efficiency decrease with decrease in fuel economy. The fuel gets wasted and you have to top off the fuel frequently.
Conclusion
The fixing of such problems require cleaning of the sensor if it is excessively dirty or any leakage. The sensor cables are to be checked, if they are damaged then they have to be replaced. If the sensor has issue then it has to be replaced.

Oh, I wish!
I very much wish I had a place to just go & throw stuff together, but I don't. *shrug*
I just used Illustrator.
Art has always been my thing. It's what I'm good at & it's what I enjoy.
Hmm... Give me a minute...
I do tend to think that dragon people, just in-general, have a stronger affinity for crystoturgy. That being what I listed above with Zennō. The ability to draw out the attributes of gems & allow them to have real world effects. However, drawing out the qualities of 2 different gems & attaching them to a single item is considered pretty advanced stuff. Anyway, this same branch of magic also allows the truly gifted of crystoturgists to utilize gemstones as magical foci, but that's, like, really high-level stuff.
Most gems need to have been infused, enhanced, effing cut before they can be used in such a way. (Link had a dang Zonai hand that could fuse things to things &, in my hc, that when mixed with his own personal innate hearth mage abilities from his mother, resulted in that. Ergo, he very much had cheats on.) Most need years, decades even, of study to reach a point where they can just use raw gemstones as foci. Which, lapidary is also a very important step of the infusion & enhancement process in my mind.
But, I lost my place. Sorry.
Anyway, my thoughts are that dragons, just by nature, have an innate talent. Like, bordering on a racial feat, at drawing the power out of gemstones. They may even have the ability to smell them.
This is partly due to them being semi-petrivorous. But, like, in the way that some horses are petrivorous. They'll sometimes eat clay or rocks when they're low on specific minerals. The same is true here. My thoughts are that dragon teeth are like diamond & are built for crushing gems so that they can get that immediate injection of minerals.
However, they're only semi-petrivorous & tend to only eat gems when they need to or for a quick snack. They're actually naturally carnivorous. Thereby making them predators. And, because of this, I see part dragons as being unable to go full vegan & even just vegetarian would be unhealthy for them.
Also, dragons are lizards. So, I see him chittering, clicking, hissing. All that. Also sunbathing like a cat.
... In fact, I very much see Dragondorf just being very cat-coded in-general.
Oh & also, for a much less date-rapey version of the earrings, I'm planning on making a pair where the Carnelians are replaced by Rose Quartz & the Garnet is turned the other way around so that the heart shape of it is turned right-side up.
Doing so would replace the Erogenous effect with Amorous. And, while the 2 have similar affects, the way that Amorous works in my hc is that it only activates when a sufficient level of dopamine & norepinephrine are found in the body. Which means that, it only works if the wearer is already legitimately attracted to someone.
So, still dubious, but less date-rapey. I may even make them to showcase it.
Also, I sort of have this hc that Vo'màzren are actually given new names. Specifically, male Gerudo names. This is done so that that part of their culture is never lost, because then those names will be kept in a registry that is always being updated.
There are also Vōshadē, who are male prostitutes who have taken up the job in order to pay back their dept to the Gerudo. This isn't slavery. Rather, it is servitude. A slave only stops being a slave if they escape, whether through rescue or death. However, a servant stops being a servant once their debt is repaid.
Actually, now that I think about it. How's Don Dragmire & Dragondorf been doing?
Did they turn out well?
They are doing very well! Dragondorf is being a territorial fuck chasing my Selfie through his castle, bc she snuck in just cuz she wants a bit o' treasure, and Donmire is slowly and surely ensuring that his pretty little canary, a new singer to the lounge, becomes his... through cutting every other person from her life through suspicious means.
They are up on Janitor and Venus, if you ever wanna give them a go! I would love to hear what mischief you make with them and any other Ganondorf bot I got!

His Future Wife (Part 3) - Yandere!Sonny Carisi x reader
Series Masterlist
summary: you discover something serious and ask Liv and your parents for help. Sonny takes matters into his own hands when he learns what you're trying to do.
warnings: pregnancy, rape mention, heavy abortion and pregnancy discussions, forced proposal, blackmail, manipulation
You could barely get out of your bed for three days after what Sonny did to you. You called out sick to Liv through the weekend, citing a cold and throwing in a few coughs for effect.
You knew you should get a rape kit, a plan b pill, something. But you were unable to move, barely able to eat and tired, so tired.
On the second evening after you called out sick, Sonny came to your door. He knocked, offering you fresh takeout from your favorite Chinese restaurant. You could smell the food through the door and almost gave in, but instead you stayed silent.
You thought about the situation a lot, and you wished you could tell Olivia. But Sonny was one of her best detectives, and you didn’t want to play the victim card again. You’d done the same when you were in Narcotics and it all but got you booted.
You loved your job, being able to advocate for victims and find their perpetrators. You were happy, and you loved the rest of the team. You and the newbie, Kat, had already become the best of friends. You and Rollins talked about crazy family members and Fin was like an older brother to you. Not to mention Liv taking on a protective mother/sister role for you.
For all you knew, you might’ve just dreamed the whole thing. What had even happened? You felt like you’d been in a fog in the days following the assault. You ignored it, hoping to just forget it and move on. You were embarrassed that it had even happened in the first place.
-
You returned to work as normal after a few days, practically overdosing on Tylenol to numb the persistent pain in your pelvic region.
You didn't talk to Sonny unless it was something directly pertaining to a case, and he hated getting the cold shoulder from you. Your attitude infuriated him, after everything he'd done for you?
Liv began to pick up on the signs, but at first she mistook them for the issues you'd had with your old department. But as the weeks went on, you became quieter, sadder, more dejected. You'd also been getting sick quite often, but you insisted it was an intestinal issue to anyone who asked.
After two months came and went without a period, you were beginning to grow more worried. You'd always had an irregular cycle, but you also felt sick on top of that.
Without telling anyone, you'd picked up a pack of two pregnancy tests from the bodega near SVU during lunch on a Wednesday. You brought them to a Chipotle's public bathroom, peed on both of them and waited three minutes before looking and taking in the result: both tests were positive.
You sat on the toilet seat, sobbing for a little while before willing yourself to get up. You knew you needed to get an abortion, there was no way you could have a child this early in your career. With Liv and Amanda both having kids, you were relied upon to be the workaholic female in the office. Your team needed you, sans baby.
You were terrified, you didn't know what to do first. You had found a new studio apartment in Washington Heights that was within your budget and less than half an hour from SVU. You were supposed to give them first and last month's rent and the deposit on Friday, meaning you wouldn't have enough for an abortion in your bank account.
You had decided to talk to Liv first once you returned from lunch. She would help you through the process of booking an appointment and she'd support your decision. After work, you would go visit your parents and ask them for a loan. They wouldn't necessarily be understanding or supportive, but your dad was soft when it came to you and would lend you the money.
--
"(y/l/n), how can I help you?" Liv said as she opened her office door. You'd been standing there and avoiding glances from your co-workers, including Carisi.
"Can we t-talk?" you asked, willing yourself not to cry again.
"Of course, come in," Liv said, ushering you to sit on the couch instead of the stuffy chairs at her desk. She closed the blinds and sat down next to you.
"What's wrong?" she asked gently, and suddenly you couldn't hold it in anymore. Sobs wracked your body as Liv brought you into her arms and gave you a hug.
"I-I'm pregnant," you cried, "and I can't keep it, I need t-to get an abortion."
Liv handed you a tissue and you stared at the floor, wiping your tears. You didn't want her to know that you'd been raped.
"The woman's clinic is just down the street, I can walk you there if you need?" she asked gently.
"N-no, I have to see my parents first, I need to borrow money from them. I'm putting down first and last month's rent for my new place on Friday so I don't have enough," you sniffled.
"If your parents can't, I can always give you a loan," Liv suggested, but you didn't feel comfortable borrowing money from your boss.
"Thank you, I'll let you know," you said simply, and exited her office before she could say anything else.
You gathered up your coat and bag quickly, preparing to leave. You couldn't stay in the office with your red-rimmed eyes and downtrodden expression.
"Woah, woah (y/n), where are you going?" Kat says, walking over to you.
"I'm dealing with something personal, I'll be back tomorrow. See you later Kat," you said, pushing past her.
Sonny watched as you propelled out the door. He had put the pieces together, you had to be pregnant. That would explain no missing pads from your desk, the vomiting, the meeting with Olivia. He just wished you'd come to him first. That was his baby, after all.
--
You walked up to the beautiful brownstone that had been your home for most of your life. It made you miss living in Brooklyn, where everything seemed quieter. With your siblings gone from the house, it was only your mother and father inhabiting the three-bedroom house.
You walked up the steps and twisted your key, knowing both of your parents would likely be there. Your mom worked part-time at Mount Sinai Hospital and your dad was a retired NYPD Deputy Chief. He was beloved through the entire department, so he often came back for guest-speaking gigs or the occasional training course.
"Hey, sweetie! Good to see you!" your dad exclaimed as you entered the foyer. He stood up from his computer chair and walked over to give you a hug.
"Is that you, (y/n)? Oh, welcome home!" your mom exclaimed, getting up from where she had been reading the paper on the couch.
"It's good to be home, I missed both of you!" You smiled, walking into the living room. You wanted to rip the bandaid off.
"How's the new job? Are you liking SVU? William Dodds told me that you're doing exceptional, an even higher success rate with cases than when you were with Narcotics. I told him, 'that's my girl!'" your dad grinned proudly.
"I really love it there so far, it's hard work but very rewarding and a lot of fun," you answered honestly, sitting down on a chair in the living room. Your parents followed suit, sitting next to each other on the couch.
"I have something I need to talk to you both about," you sighed, looking down at your hands. You were thinking of how you should phrase this so your parents didn't flip out.
"I had sex a couple months ago. I didn't know until afterwards but the guy didn't use a condom, and I just found out that I'm pregnant. I made an appointment today at the women's clinic. For an abortion," you said, saying the last part quietly.
You looked over at your parents. Your dad had tears in his eyes and your mother looked shocked.
"I-I don't know what to say," your mom sputtered.
"Who is the baby’s father?" your dad asked evenly.
"You don't know him," you said quietly.
"We'll lend you the money, I know you just put down your deposit," your dad offered, pulling out his wallet. He grabbed two hundreds out.
"(Y/d/n), how can you encourage this behavior?" your mother asked, shaking her head.
"You heard her, the guy lied to her."
"She had unprotected sex!"
"She's a big girl who can decide what to do with her own life."
"You're going to pay your father back, you hear me? You can't just go around willy-nilly getting abortions for god's sakes!"
"I've got the rest in my office, let me grab it," your father said, getting up from the couch and ambling into his home office.
"I'm ashamed of you, young lady. We didn't raise you like this," your mother sneered, crossing her arms over her chest and avoiding your eyes.
"Mom, I didn't know he didn't use a condom."
"You gotta check first!"
"He was a lot bigger than me, okay? I couldn't stop him!" you cried.
Your mom whipped her head around to look at you, eyes wide. You could tell that she now fully grasped the situation.
Thankfully, your father came in and slipped the rest of the bills into your hand with a small, sympathetic smile.
"If you need anything else, don't hesitate, okay?" your father said, and you nodded.
You hugged them both goodbye and headed out, ready for your next stop: the clinic.
--
Your hands shook as you exited the sub station, walking up the stairs and toward's the women's clinic. Your appointment wasn't for another half-hour, but you wanted to be early.
As you turned the corner, you noticed a familiar figure running towards you. You took a few cautionary steps back and began walking fast in the opposite way. You were freaking out, you didn't know what to do. How did Sonny know you were here?
"(Y/n) babe, what are 'ya doing here?" he huffed, finally catching up to you.
"It's nothing, I'm just heading back to the precinct," you said, lying through your teeth.
"Then can 'ya explain why you've got an appointment at the women's clinic in thirty minutes?"
"H-how do you know about that?" you whimpered.
"I used my badge, that's how. You know that abortion is a sin, right?" Sonny growled, staring down at you and pointing in your face.
"I don't care, Sonny! I don't want this baby, I never did! You raped me, did you know that's a sin? I'm getting an abortion whether you like it or not!" you screamed.
"I didn't rape you, we love each other! And where'd 'ya get the money, huh? Dear ol' daddy? NYPD's prized show pony," he laughed, "I remember reading about the MacMullins case, that drug and prostitution ring he busted back in '01? It'd be a real shame if more evidence came up, maybe something about how your daddy was in contact with those prostitutes too?"
"That's a lie, he would never!" you cried.
"Yeah, well, I know people. I'm sure you’d love it if a smear article popped up in the Post. Goodbye to that sweet pension, no more big speeches or fancy galas. Your father would be a public disgrace. Oh, and your mother? It's so easy to get nurses fired these days, just plant a couple'a illegal pills on her desk and voila! Don't even get me started on what I could do to 'ya siblings," he explained.
Through your tears, you could see the triumphant grin on his face. You hated his stupid face, you hated everything about him.
"What do you want from me?" you sniffled, wiping your eyes with the sleeve of your jacket.
"I want ‘ya to keep that baby and I want ‘ya to accept my marriage proposal."
"Your what?"
"We made a miracle. We created that life growing inside you, and I want you to know that I'm going to love you and this baby with everything I am, and I'll take care ‘a both of 'ya," he promised, taking your hands in his.
"What about my job? I don't wanna have to move departments again," you explained as you tried to wrap your head around Sonny's words.
"Oh, that's easy. I'm takin' a job at the DA's office, so you can stay at SVU. We'll have to disclose to our bosses though."
"Sonny, I-I can't marry you."
"Maybe not right now, but you'll warm up to the idea. Plus, 'ya don't want poor mommy and daddy to get caught up in a scandal, do 'ya?"
"Fine."
"Oh no, wait a sec," Sonny says, bending one knee to the concrete and pulling a small box out of his pocket.
"(Y/n) (y/l/n), would 'ya do me the honor of bein' my wife?" he asked.
"Yes, Sonny, just get up," you sighed, and Sonny slipped the engagement ring onto your ring finger. You had to admit it was beautiful, with one large diamond in the middle. You watched as he slipped a silver band onto his own ring finger.
"You like it? Mia and my sisters helped me pick it out. They're excited to have a little niece or nephew runnin' around at family gatherings. I know you'll get used to it too. We're gonna make great parents," Sonny said, pulling you into a hug.

Danny's acidic
Hey, this is gonna be a mess because I graduated in the college of Google in this subject (meaning: I don't have academic qualification I just googled some stuff)
I was thinking about how some people in the dp fandom where trying to decide if Danny could drink because of the ectoplasm in his body (I believe the concensus was that he can either drink like there's no tomorrow with little to none side effects or not at all), so I was thinking of the ectoplasm in his body and if it'd affect him. And then Brainy said "hey, what if his blood was acidic".
Just to clear the facts: pH is sort of like a scale -- a lower pH means more acidic and a higher pH means mor alkaline (generally, under 7 is acidic and above is alkaline). Human blood is supposed to be neutral and only slightly basic (alkaline), at a 7.4.
Sometimes, tho, human blood doesn't follow that, and we get the conditions of acidosis (below 7.35) and alkalosis (7.45 or higher). I'm focusing on acidosis.
As you all may know from science class or even tv, a lot of bodily processes can result in the producing of acid. The most known bodily acid is probably the gastric acid (yk, that mfer that burns tf out of your throat when you puke), but there are others, like the lactic acid, for an example (it's the one that causes us fatigue when we exercise).
That being, there are two types of acidosis: Metabolic acidosis and respiratory acidosis. And, guys, depending on the headcannon, Danny could have both.
Respiratory acidosis happens when your body can't remove the CO2 from it (which is usually liberated when we breathe), and it can be cause by asthma, injury to the chest, drug abuse/misuse, muscle weakness in the chest, the list goes on. This would mostly apply to the "Danno don't breathe" headcannon.
Metabolic acidosis happens when your kidneys can't get rid of enough acid or if they get rid of too much base.
There are four types of Metabolic acidosis, but I'm not getting into diabetic acidosis because it doesn't apply. There's:
- Hyperchloremic acidosis: when you lose too much sodium bicarnonate (which is a base). It can happen because of vomitting or diarrhea and it can be solved easily by just putting more sodium bicarbonate back in your body
- Lactic acidosis: occurs when there’s too much lactic acid in your body. It can be caused by chronic alcohol use, heart failure, cancer, seizures, liver failure, prolonged lack of oxygen, and low blood sugar. Even prolonged exercise can lead to lactic acid buildup.
- Renal tubular acidosis: occurs when the kidneys are unable to excrete acids into the urine. This causes the blood to become acidic.
The symptoms of these include:
Respiratory:
fatigue or drowsiness
becoming tired easily
confusion
shortness of breath
sleepiness
headache
Metabolic:
rapid and shallow breathing
confusion
fatigue
headache
sleepiness
lack of appetite
jaundice (yellow skin)
increased heart rate
breath that smells fruity, which is a sign of diabetic acidosis (ketoacidosis)
So, like, say the ectoplasm in Danny's blood causes metabolic acidosis because of the imbalances and stuff. Most types of m acidosis can be treated with supplements of some kind: sodium bicarbonate, sodium citrate, bicarbonate suplements, fluids. So I imagine danny having to always walk around with a freaking farmacy worth of supplements, water, juice, as well as having to take care of his diet (no more nasty burger :((()
(Also, some side effects of acidosis can be kidney stones, chronic kidney problems, kidney failure, bone disease, delayed growth so use the last two to your liking :))))))))))))))))))

________________________________________________________
You had sat alone in the Winter Soldier’s quarters for at least a day. You were confused by the recent events between you, but now knew for certain that he was a prisoner as well. A dangerous one. Despite that, you had found yourself actively worrying about him after they had taken him away at gunpoint. And then there were the guttural screams you had heard. You didn’t sleep well, those screams hard to shake from your head.
During your boredom, you had started to leaf through his military strategy books, surprised when a small, white feather fell out of one. You admired it in the lamp light, it’s delicate tendrils long and soft. Maybe there was more to him than you had seen.
While staring at it for the thousandth time, you heard the bars being removed from the doors. You guiltily placed it back in the book and shut it, not wanting him to see you invading his privacy, despite staying in his room. You were surprised to discover two guards behind the door, who once again escorted you without explanation down the hall, holding you by your arms. You lost track of the turns, your heart racing with fear. You found yourself in a room with at least a dozen men milling around and a large observation window behind them. The guards pulled you out of the way, into the corner, and held you in place. You unconsciously craned to see around the men and through the window until one of the guards yanked you firmly back into place.
“Gentlemen, may I have your attention,” one middleaged man said, standing with his back to the window. The room stilled. “Today we have a unique opportunity to test what our research team has developed. We have long been curious about its effects on super soldiers,” he gestured behind him, and you could finally see a nearly empty room, excepting the Winter Soldier in a chair, back rigid, eyes forward.
“Administer the pollen,” he snapped his fingers in the air, and a man left the room, reappearing on the other side of the window. He approached the unflinching Winter Soldier and injected him in the neck with a red substance. “It should take around 5 minutes to take effect. Let us introduce the target,” he gestured again, and you felt yourself being pulled across the room. The guards pulled you through the door and shoved you inside before latching it behind you. You would still hear the man’s words, though it was muffled by the thick glass.
“The target is known to the Winter Soldier, but he has undergone a memory wiping as of yesterday. It is known that they are sexually compatible,” he went on as you struggled to process what you just heard, “now let us observe the results. The pollen has reduced regular men to lustful dogs,” he chuckled, and the room joined, “unable to find peace until they complete in a target, but let us finally see how a super soldier reacts.” You shuddered at their detachment and amusement at your predicament.
You could now see that there was also a metal table to the side, and you gravitated toward it, feeling vulnerable in the large open space. The Winter Soldier continued to sit at attention in the center of the room. Did he even hear what they had said? You decided to approach him, and did so cautiously. They had said his memory had been wiped, which you didn’t even know was possible, but they also said you had a few minutes before the pollen likely took effect.
As always, you were intimidated by his sheer size as you moved in front of him. His eyes took a moment, but seemed to focus on you. You stepped forward slowly, with your hands out in front of you, again feeling that you were approaching a large animal, rather than a man. You searched for any hint of recognition, but were disappointed to find none. Like he was looking through you.
“Are you ok?” you asked in a low voice, “Did they hurt you?” His face didn’t change, but something told you he could hear you. You took a risk and stepped even closer. You could hear his heavy breath and see his chest gently moving in and out. You swallowed thickly, unsure of how to address him, despite how intimate you had been. “Are you alright?” you tried again, afraid to breathe.
The change was sudden. His eyes darkening, his jaw tightening, and his fists clenching at his sides. His groan of pain rang off the walls as he closed his eyes and stood, the chair flung like a toy behind him. Fear ripped through your gut as he towered above you, but your feet felt cemented to the floor.
He groaned again, teeth bared in a grimace, muscles on his neck bulging. His chest heaved and his eyes snapped open, then found you.
Your feet mercifully began to work as you stumbled back, trying to escape. It took him one step to catch up with you, his large hand grabbing your arm and rooting you in place. You turned to face him, terrified of what you would see. You had seen him lustful before, but his eyes were feral. He pulled you into him, biting into your neck with force. You cried out in pain, trying to push away uselessly. While still clamped down on you, he grabbed the hem of your shirt and literally ripped it to the neck, his hands desperately seeking your skin. Despite yourself, you could feel a wetness grow between your legs.
Shit. You forgot he can smell it. He pulled back, forcefully pulling your tattered shirt away from you, then tearing at your pants. His flesh forearm pulled your lower back firmly toward him, allowing you to feel his giant bulge. He growled at the contact, rutting against you while he buried his face against your hair. Your face was pressed against his chest, and his smell overwhelmed you, woody and familiar.
He lifted you effortlessly by your ass, you instinctively wrapping your arms and legs around him to keep from falling. He crashed you onto the table and his face pushed into you, licking and biting along your neck, chest, and abdomen while his hands roamed hungrily. He bit onto your bra impatiently as he shoved his metal hand down your underwear, his fingers entering your pussy with ease. You moaned as he pumped them into you repeatedly, and your head fell back, feeling your self control start to unravel.
That’s when you heard the cheering. The men observing you were hooting at the sight before them, and your cheeks heated in embarrassment.
“Please, no,” you weakly begged as his thumb found your clit, circling it deliciously as he pressed his erection against your knee. When you tried to sit up, his flesh hand found your throat and held you down. This display of dominance worked against you as you felt a familiar warm sensation building deep inside you.
“Not here, not here,” you chanted, your vision starting to blur from his grasp. When his teeth pulled your bra down enough to find your nipple, you snapped, your orgasm coursing through you as you bucked in his grasp, wailing. As you came down, you heard lascivious commentary coming from the observation room.
“Did you see that?!”
“I’d like to try her next!”
“Doc, can I bring this stuff home to my wife?”
The Winter Soldier was unaffected by their noises, dropping his hands to pull at his pants. The button flew off, hitting the wall with an audible crack, as he revealed his impressive cock. You found yourself clenching at the sight of it, wondering if it had somehow gotten even bigger.
He pulled you roughly to the edge of the table and pushed your underwear to the side, entering you slowly and letting out a cry of relief as his head fell back. Your walls accommodated him as you gasped for air, totally stuffed full. You never got used to how he hit all your spots at once. It occurred to you in some corner of your already cockdrunk brain that you had never seen him this raw before. He was usually in complete control.
When he began to thrust, you melted onto the table, keening rhythmically as you held the edge to brace yourself. He held your hips tightly, going deeper and faster than you remembered, and you were lost, everything gone but the sensation. The table scraped loudly across the floor, inches at a time, until it hit the wall and there was nowhere else to go. His face was red and covered in a sheen of sweat, eyes screwed closed, mouth hanging open as he panted. You were mesmerized by his every twitch, drinking in how you could read him so well.
He reached his flesh hand down to play with your clit again, your moans becoming louder. You knew how he liked to feel you cum around him to push him over the edge. This time you paid the audience no mind as you arched, waves of pleasure crashing over you again and again. He groaned in appreciation as he came inside you, his hips eventually stilling. He leaned over you, both of you panting for a moment before he pulled out.
He seemed to come to his senses then, tucking himself quickly back inside his pants and backing away from you, not meeting your eyes. You pushed yourself gingerly off the table, testing your shaky legs.
“Well gentlemen, it would seem it has a strong effect, but he was able to stave it off enough to consider the target’s pleasure. We will continue with our research to see what adjustments need to be made, and will provide you with a copy of our report from today’s findings. Clean this up,” the man waved his hand dismissively, and guards entered the room to whisk you off once again.
