sirius kept pressing on remus' wound, slightly shaking as the one who cursed their boyfriend disapparated with a loud pop.

"remus. remus please. remus, stay with me. please, remus..." sirius pressed harder on remus' cut, wiping xyr eyes furiously. this couldn't end like this.

he and remus were supposed to live. to grow old and be wrinkly and cranky together and wake up next to each other all the mornings they had got left.

remus looked weakly at the gash on his abdomen, then looked a bit at sirius. "it's bad, isn't it?" he asked, and sirius could only nod.

"nightmare?" remus asked quietly, rubbing his eyes.

"yeah" sirius whispered. "sorry i woke you up"

"'s ok, sunshine. you know that song? you are my sunshine? johnny cash?" remus turned on his side, facing sirius. "my ma used to sing it to me when i had nightmares."

"i don't think i know it" sirius muttered.

"the other night dear, as I lay sleeping," remus smiled to sirius, and it calmed xem a little, "i dreamed i held you in my arms. but when I awoke, dear, I was mistaken, so I hung my head and I cried. you are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy when skies are gray, you'll never know dear, how much I love you. please don't take my sunshine away" he sang quietly, his raspy voice bringing sirius back into the world of dreams.

"you are my sunshine, my only sunshine" sirius sang quietly, shaking with sobs.

"you make me happy when skies are gray" and tears were running down xyr cheeks, dripping on remus' blood stained shirt.

"you'll never know dear, how much I love you" they rocked themselves back and forth slightly holding remus in their arms.

"please don't take my sunshine away" remus smiled to sirius, singing with xem the last verse, on a hushed tone.

remus looked at sirius with love one last time, and closed his eyes for the last time.
