Yandere Iron Valiant with trainer Darling Concept?
It's a bit difficult as there isn't any PokeDex entry I can go off of. So this is speculation on my part. Sorry for image quality, it's a close up of a Pokemon card... couldn't find good official art.
Overprotective! Iron Valiant with Trainer! Darling
(FT. Gardevoir or Gallade)
Pairing: Platonic (With Rivalry Elements)
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Overprotective behavior, Violence, Implied murder, Blood, Clingy behavior, Forced/Dubious companionship.
Iron Valiant is a Future Paradox Pokemon that appears to have combined features of a Gardevoir and Gallade.
They are robots that we can assume were meant to act as guardians for humanity in the future.
Perhaps you caught this Pokemon once it was sent to the present?
Or... since they are a robot... you helped fix them up?
Granted, any major injury/damage can't be fixed perfectly... but you try your best.
I like to imagine Pokemon Violet's Paradox Pokemon are more robot than Pokemon.
Which means, When you fix the robot they register you as their new master.
Pokeball or not, this Iron Valiant follows you around like a maid or butler.
Technically they're both.
Imagine if you already had a Gardevoir or Gallade in your care?
They'd be so confused about their robotic counterpart.
Even more so if your new Iron Valiant tried to replace them.
Y'know what, to prevent all these Overprotective Pokemon concepts from feeling the same... you have either a Gardevoir or Gallade as your Pokemon partner.
Imagine if your Iron Valiant saw your original Pokemon partner as inferior.
They are far superior, a combination of the best parts of the evolutionary line.
Why do you still care for these... biological creatures?
Your Gardevoir/Gallade often gives you concerned looked, seeing how the glowing pink eyes of the robot scan them up and down.
You can try to make them get along... but your Iron Valiant is often the problem.
You can order them... but there's always tension between them and your original Pokemon partner.
Your robotic partner always judges your partner, glaring at them with glowing pink irises.
For the most part, they're behaved.
Although... your current Pokemon partner probably won't stick around for too long.
What I mean by that is... You Iron Valiant may just get rid of your Gardevoir/Gallade.
After all, why do you need them?
Unlike robots... they can die.
With a robot partner you'll always be safe.
So... that means your current partners are inferior...
Which means your Iron Valiant will exterminate them for you.
Imagine waking up one day and all your partners are gone.
You're looking everywhere... but they're just gone.
However, when you call for your Iron Valiant... they respond.
With an excited beep or two, the run up to you with a happy gaze...
Covered in blood.
You stay silent... staring...
They don't seem to care.
If you try to run, they'll follow.
You can't escape them... you're trapped...
After all, they're superior!
Their master only deserves the best.

Kricketot & Cricketune Behaviour, Body Language, and Culture
I love Kircketune so much, and I was so happy to find that Paldea had Kricketune (never got that nostalgic kricket song to go to sleep to, I just got the sound of Charjabug electricity to fall asleep to :C). Anyways, post about them!
Body Language & Behaviour
Singing
We all know this one, but it's still worth mentioning considering how much they do it. Kricketune sing to communicate, attract mates, and to show they're battle ready.
Spreading out arms
A lot of people view this as a sign of aggression, but it's not. The Kricketune is just letting you know it does not want to be bothered.
Rubbing Claws Together
Kricketune rub their claws together to show that they are happy.
Jumping side-to-side
A behaviour primarily done by Kricketot. It's the same reason Kricketune rub their class together; to show they're happy.
Notes & Emotions
Kricketune's show their different emotions by playing different melodies, and the melodies vary between each Kricketune and each group, but they all still follow a similar universal pattern. Think of it as how people from completely different parts of the world still smile to show that they're happy. When Kricketune make a chalkboard sound (you know the one I am talking about), this means that they are angry, upset, or aggressive. When Kricketune are happy, they make a xylophone-like sound. When they're sad, they make a low-note sound.
Colliding Antenna
As one of their many ways of communication, Kricketot will collide their antenna together to create a sound. Different patterns can mean different things, and it's important to pay attention to your Kricketot since what they mean can very between Orchestras (name for a group of Krickets).
Bathing
Krickets are very prideful and clean pokemon, and they absolutely hate getting dirty. Since submerging themselves in water can damage Kricketune's wings (yes, they have wings and can fly), and Kricketot can't swim (legs too stubby), they will instead go into shallow water and rub wet leaves on themselves to get all of the dirt and grime off. Krickets bathe very often and view being dirty as something no one should be.
Culture
Orchestras
My personal favorite behavior from them. Kricketune love attention and having an audience, and they'll often make musical tunes and play it to attract other pokemon. While orchestras are used for attention and entertainment, Kricketune will also use orchestras as a way to celebrate something or mourn a fallen friend.
Singing Competitions
To attract mates, Kricketot and Kricketune will have singing competitions. It's exactly what it sounds like. Kricketune sing to attract mates, with the one with the best tune attracting the most partners. These are heald in a competition based format, but there isn't one main winner, as the best singer is subjective.
Villages
Kricket villages aren't like the ones humans or Tinkaton make, but they're close. Krickets live in large colonies, making their homes in fields and plains. Different Kricket families will live in different homes made from hollowed out trees or dens. Their homes are close to each other, with places to store foods and use the bathroom in separate areas. Kricketot villages almost always have a flattened out area on either dirt or rocks to be their stage. As you can probably tell, performing and music is very important to them.
Conductors
Conductors are leaders of Kricket Groups; giving them orders and keeping everything in check. In Hisui, Conductors would often be Alpha Kricketune, but as the gene died out, it would end up being any Kricketune that was able to battle for it. While providing food, being head of making shelters, and keeping everyone safe, Conductors are also teachers; often teaching young Kricketot different tunes and leading orchestras (the Kricketune on the right in the first image was actually this groups Conductor!)
Raising Young
Female Krickets can lay up to 12 small eggs in a clutch. Because of this, families tend to be big. But, Krickets have a very "hands off" approach when it comes to raising their young, with entire colonies providing nessecaties like food and water, but letting the young Kricketots explore the world on their own. Conductors and older Krickets will train them on how to battle and make music.
Battling
While Krickets are very peaceful pokemon, every pokemon battles, and each species has differing views on battling. Krickets are primarily focused on music, but battling is taught to them as well in case of potential danger and needing to defend themselves. Every once in a while, Kricketune will battle to attract mates instead of sing.

Tell me about each of your PMD teams!
OH BOY ok okok
starting off with team obsidian (explorers of sky)
Mistral is. complicated. for starters i have played as her in rescue team, explorers, And super because at the time they were kinda just. me. less of an oc and more just my self insert (i actually changed their name because her old name is. just my name now)
but lately i've wanted her to be her own character and not me in totodile form so i'm kinda in the process of redoing everything about them.
Cinder i can say more about! they are a disaster. an absolute mess. sopping wet kitten born in a cardboard box all alone. she's wanted to be an explorer since she was little, but being a huge coward kinda got in the way of that. they got that scar on their chest when they went into a dungeon alone and it scared them away from exploring for a long time. it wasn't until she met mistral that she started to get her confidence back and they're much calmer and less afraid of everything nowadays!
now rescue team. i played as mistral again in my first pmddx playthough along with a cubone partner but. i have kinda replaced them as my Main pmd1 team with these guys. oops.
campfire are much more developed characters anyways so im gonna talk about them!
fig (she/any) is very quiet, as are basically all of my heroes because my selectively mute ass keeps latching onto silent protagonists. she's definitely the one i've given the not talking trait to the most though. chive is extremely extroverted and chatty so she handles all the talking. others tend to see them as closed off or mysterious because they can't get a good read on her. they're really sweet though
chive's main gimmick is she likes cooking! will probably settle down and open a little cafe once she's done with the rescue team business. likes to experiment with random berries and nuts she finds (fig keeps joking she's going to poison herself, but she owns like 3 different foraging guides, she knows what she's doing.)
next is team hydra! their ref is old and i need to redo it so here's one of my heropartnerweek pieces badly cropped. their names are Ceru (she/xe) and Olivine (he/they)
it turns out i lied when i said all my heroes are quiet ceru is actually pretty outgoing. still the more introverted of the duo but mainly because olivine is a people pleaser extraordinaire. she actually had a pretty boring life as a human and is a lot happier as a pokemon. she was Devastated about returning to the human world, mostly because xe didn't want to leave xyr friends, partially because oh come on it's so much cooler here i don't wanna go back to working retail
olivine, as i said, is a people pleaser, often to his detriment. he's always prioritizing other pokemon's happiness, even when it's at the cost of his own. they get better at this over time (ceru helps him a lot with learning to say No). he and ceru are inseparable besties. they're like a comedy duo. 2 things have olivine's undying commitment, his friends and The Bit
finally. super. again i already talked about mistral so here is Basil.
honestly? i feel like they don't have much of my own spin. pmsd partner is already a perfect character. they are so full of love. they love making others smile and they're maybe a little too enthusiastic about it. they tend to come off as overly friendly at best or annoying at worst. before meeting mistral they were pretty lonely despite trying so hard to make friends. they're very happy to finally have a real close friend who likes them how they are
this ended up a little rambly!! oops!! but there's my guys hope you like em :)
#ask#uhh do i want to tag everyone. sure#(oc) mistral#(oc) cinder#(oc) fig#(oc) chive#(oc) ceru#(oc) olivine#(oc) basil

My friends and I are still on our pokémon nuzlocke bullshit so I'm still poke obsessed.
But separately I'm also on my how to train your dragon bullshit and I realized how similar the relationship progression of Ash and Pikachu and of Hiccup and Toothless is.
They should meet.
Ash getting slung on Berk would have pretty much the same effect as Hiccup ending up in Unova. Going from no electricity to that would probably give the kid an aneurysm before he starts taking pokedexes apart to learn how to build them. I don't think Toothless would scare people as much as they'd probably assume he was a legendary from another region. He'd be Dragon type, probably pure.
Toothless and Pikachu wouldn't be able to communicate, which would probably weird Toothless out since usually he's not this cut out from the rest of the world. I mean, Hiccup and Ash also probably speak different languages here, but it's easier for humans to learn a new language than it is for animals from different universes to do so.
For these kinds of universe shananigans I can always only think of a few main culprits, Arceus being the main one. I mean It does a lot of things for Its self without worrying about who It's using. Palkia and Dialga might not be the teleporting around type, but Giratina might meddle. And the Lake Guardians do some kind of transportation shananigans sometimes but they're not as mischievous iirc.
Thinking about Hiccup somehow meeting Lugia and being all "it's ok it's ok" *hand think* while Lugia looks at Ash and goes "is this kid fr?" And Hiccup has a heart attack because he's never heard a Dragon talk. And pokemon also usually don't so this was a surprise all around.
Them exchanging stories of how they met their life long partner.
"I uuh- I shot him down. He can't fly without the artificial tail fin I made. But hey! He got me back, didn't he? Couldn't save all of me, so-" *points* "peg leg."
*Warble*
"Woah. And you made it? Both of them?"
"Yeah. Took me a while to perfect the design but now Toothless can fly with my help. I... Tried making him one he didn't need me for, but he rejected it."
*nods* "I get it."
"We didn't get along for a while. I was scared and he was resentful. But I was also stubborn and he was curious. "
*chuckle* "Me and Pikachu didn't either."
"Yeah?"
*nods* "He didn't want a trainer, and I didn't want him as my Pokémon. But, like you, I was stubborn. And even though we didn't get along, I never would've let him get hurt."
"Naturally."
"So when a murder of Sparrow attacked us, I protected him. And then he did the same. And I think we started bonding more because of the trust and respect that came from that incident."
"Pikapi! Pi pika pika-chuu."
*nods* "True. It wasn't smooth sailing. But with time, we really came from an understanding."
"And now you're inseparable?" *Smile*
*smile back* "yeah."
I was also thinking about what pokémon Toothless would be if this was a universe fusion and not a universes meeting kinda situation and I came to the conclusion that it should be Zekrom.
C'mon. Night Furies are said to be the "unholy offspring of lightning and death itself". I can totally see some culture getting that idea if they know the original story and lore.
I don't know what the Red death would be in this scenario, but this would be like a Hisui situation with people hating or being scared of Pokemon in general. I have less ideas for universe fusions type crossover.
#me me post#pokemon httyd#pokemon#httyd#how to train your dragon#jadenoryuu if youre reading this i am still writing a response#i wrote this one handed while j had dinner because the parallels wouldnt leave me alone#but im taking the dp one more seriously#as evident by the lack of sources written in this post lmao

yo I think it's about time I actually post on here but also re-introduce my PMD:EoS hero and partner since they've developed a lot since their inception.
this isnt an end-all-be-all post of everything about them but this is just a basic "hey check out these fellers" sort of dealio. yes, their names are very creative, but I haven't wanted to change them since I came up with them on the spot in my first playthrough of EoS lol. I caution you that there will be spoilers for EoS ahead and you may not wanna touch it until you've experienced the story yourself :)
Chiiko
Co-Founder of Team Quiches
Chiiko's life started off crowded. Hatched last to a herd of Chikoritas, Bayleefs and Meganiums, Chiiko was also last to every meal. With so many siblings, it was incredibly difficult for her to find enough nutrients. By time she was at the age of majority, what would have been a beautiful arching leaf trailing from atop her head had grown similar to a succulent plant with lacking sunlight; a long tendril with a single small leaf at its tapering end was all she ever grew. Even into her adulthood, Chiiko would never be able to produce a large leaf canopy as others of her species could. Also due to her stunted growth, Chiiko's attacking moves are incredibly weak, and she performs better as a supporting/healing team member. Chiiko was unhappy with her simple life as a member of her large herd. Upon locating an unusual stone with a strange inscription, she found herself inspired and traveled across the Grass Continent to make a name and life for herself as an explorer. However, after purchasing a quaint seaside cliff cave aptly named "Sharpedo Bluff" with what remained of her Poke, she found herself out of her depth. Anxieties regarding her strength overcame her desire to join Wigglytuff's guild, so she resigned to performing odd jobs around Treasure Town to make enough money to survive. This continued, until she met a certain Cyndaquil after a stormy night...
Quill
Co-Founder of Team Quiches
Quill's life prior to her awakening on the beach was a mystery to all save her former comrades in the Future Timeline. Seeming to possess a fiery passion and even hotter temper, Quill was determined to protect and help the one who had discovered her on Treasure Town's shore. Though her appearance is shaggy and scarred from her rocky journey to the Past Timeline, Quill has a heart of gold and sly humor that makes even the meekest of Pokemon open up to her. It is said due to her existence as a human once before, Quill's inner flame burns hotter than most fire types, leading her to struggle with directing her moves without hurting unintended targets. While she does improve her skills, the worry has always been present in her mind that she could harm others if she doesn't focus.
Quill is initially quite dependent on Chiiko, especially during their harrowing journey to prevent time's destruction. At the height of Chiiko's sorrow after Dusknoir's betrayal, the two decide that they mean so much more to each other than just as friends. However, after the past is saved, and the future's destruction is imminent, Quill disappears along with it. She is transported back to the future, where she helps rebuild civilization among all Pokemon of the future for 6, terribly long months. This period allows Quill to discover herself beyond just the scope of self-sacrifice and her usefulness. Though the parting hurt more than anything, she does eventually reunite with Chiiko when Dialga gifts her with a gift of the future. Chiiko and Quill's story doesn't end there, and there's definitely a lot more, but I'd say that summary will suffice for the introduction to their characters and dynamic, since they're a bit of a dynamic duo :) Can't have one without the other!!! I hope you had fun reading/skimming and I hope people enjoy them as much as I do :D Fun facts: - Quill can only see through her undamaged left eye! Her right eyelids remain closed while she is capable of fully exposing her left one when she's so moved. - Chiiko came up with the team name, after her favorite food! - Quill's irises are red! She also has visible ears, similar to a rodent's! - Chiiko has large spots all over her body and small freckles across her skin, uncommon for her species. - Neither Quill nor Chiiko ever choose to evolve. - Quill is, interestingly, fluffier and more limber than most Cynadquils. In fact, if she had ever chosen to evolve, she would have become a Hisuian Typhlosion! - Chiiko, unlike in the canonical game's story, was injured by Dusknoir's Sableye during the escape in the future. She carries the scar for the rest of her life across the left side of her chest, reminding her of what she's survived.

hi miss tula. my aunt got me first pokemon recently. it is eevee! since eevee not in unova parents dont know what to do with it. since you are nurse do you have tip? sorry bad galarian
hello, anon! eevee makes a wonderful first partner, and they're much more common in unova than one would think. if you live somewhere rural though i definitely understand that you wouldn't know much about them since they're most common in cities here!
the first thing to know about owning an eevee is that they can not stay an eevee forever. due to their unstable genetics, an eevee that does not evolve will eventually become sick, though the amount of time this takes depends on the particular eevee. i recommend choosing the eeveelution you want as soon as you can, so eevee can evolve as soon as it's ready! i personally believe leafeon is the easiest to care for, but you'll get a different opinion from everyone.
now that that's out of the way, you'll likely have a good few years with your eevee as an eevee! (i've seen an eevee make it to 12 without suffering any illness from not evolving).
the good news is, eevee are very easy to care for! they're omnivores that can eat most dry and wet pokemon foods without need for any additional nutrition. however, it's important to note that, like many canine and feline pokemon (scientists are still arguing which one eeevee is), eevee can't eat foods like chocolate, grapes or onions.
eevee will probably enjoy the occasional addition of fruits, vegetables, and berries into their diet! be careful with the amount, as too much can give them tummy problems, and especially with fruit and some berries, you dont want to give them too much sugar.
eevee are typically very affectionate pokemon that will greatly enjoy snuggles and playtime. dont get too offended if your eevee seems a little distant: just like humans, some eevee aren't as big on being touched. if this is the case, you'll certainly find eevee has their own ways of showing affection!
eevee are very energetic, and even the laziest among them needs a good bit of playtime. since you're in unova, i can recommend buying toys designed for either lilipup or purrloin; it's a bit of a gamble which one eevee will lean twoards.
lastly, pay attention to their habits and hobbies! its one of the best ways to choose an evolution your friend will be the happiest with. for example, an eevee who loves swimming will probably thrive as a vaporeon, but an eevee that enjoys being up late at night probably wouldnt be very happy as an espeon, ect ect. i also can't recommend glaceon if you live in a warmer climate.
eevees' loveable nature makes them a great first partner and pet pokemon; they're popular for a reason! heres to many years of fun with your new best friend!

Oh I should probably mention if I haven't already: Will and Myo are very much alive in the Paragon Route! Will runs a flower shop in GDC and Myo is a chronic job hopper that can't seem to stick a job ( bc they keep getting fired).
Spoilers for pokemon desolation and Rejuvenation below!
Will is about 21-22 in comparison to being 18-19 during Renegade. Quick explanation for that: Will is actually from Ayrith, the region pokemon desolation takes place in. In my au, the events of reborn, desolation and rejuvenation happen in a single timeline - yes, for many reasons it shouldn't, but I try my best to at least make it make sense lol. From Reborn to Rejuvenation, it takes a span of 5 years, with deso being in the middle. Again, I know there's some canon stuff that contradicts this timeline, I know, but this is why it's an au. I've been going back and forth on when deso would happen, and for now I think it would happen 2 years after Reborn, 3 years before Rejuv. Now going back to Will: in the renegade timeline, bro died in Ayrith in Darkroot, his soul wandering for 3 years, only to get yoinked and become an interceptor. In Paragon, he never died! So he gets to actually age normally, and eventually move to Aevium to open up shop. He's still a young shop owner, still has lots to learn, but he seems to be doing pretty well for himself!
Myo is a different story, as since bc they weren't in a waiting list of souls, Myo is still 18 in Paragon, not really aging like Will did. That didn't stop them from finding each other! Dare I say it: platonic soulmates in every universe. Also they're human in Paragon! Fully human!! No ounce of servant blood ( do they even bleed? Well they do when they grow their own will I guess) in them! They're relationship with their dad is better too, if a tiny bit rocky given how Myo operates. And their mom is alive!!! Yippee!
And lastly, Will has an amazing partner in a person named Abby! They're a tattoo artist who works at a parlor nearby! Them and Will are hopelessly in love, and Myo and them are practically partners in crime and bffs!
Overall they are much happier and have no idea who the fuck is Isador Arkwright <3

Mmm. So I've been watching a silent playthrough of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Sky while I work recently and it churned up an AU idea that I can't get out of my head. I'm sure it's been done before but the potential for a story will not leave me alone.
So, the human from PMD Sky, the one from the future, who jumps back in time w/ their partner Grovyle, gets batted around in that time storm and separated, right? Same old, same old.
HOWEVER.
Instead of getting transformed into a Pokemon and going on their adventure in the Mystery Dungeon world, Arceus (the old goof) senses an opportunity and plucks the human from their current place outside time and space claw machine style, and throws them head first into Hisui, right smack dab into the events of Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Why pick a random qualified human from the real world when a different one has basically offered themselves up to the task?
Hero, who is still somewhat memory-less (and also, Arc Phone-less since I'm sure phones are rather hard to come by in Primal Dialgas apocalyptic time period), is now forced to play the confused and unknowing savior of Hisui at the behest of some mysterious unknown force, battling it out with crazed nobles and weaving their way through the ranks of Team Galaxy.
I like the idea that Hero IS qualified for it. They more than have the survival skills necessary to brave the Hisuian wilds, learned from a lifetime of navigating the harsh world of a post apocalypse, constantly on the run. Do you think they find it weird that Pokemon can't talk? What do they think of other people, other humans? They can't remember anything, but I'm sure they get feelings.
Imagine the uses the Dimensional Scream would give them. What does it feel like when the peak of Mt. Cornet opens and shrouds the entire sky in an undending red? Imagine their witnessing of a crazed Origin Form Dialga, the primal, unexplained fear that would well up within them upon witnessing the extreme power of the entity who threw their entire world into paralysis. Do you think being a part of Team Galaxy, of helping people in Hisui, of working towards a greater goal to help people would feel familiar? They may not remember working with the Planetary Exploration Team, but do you think when they talk to Adaman and Irida or Rei or Akari they get this warm, familiar feeling? That they're reminded of someone, but they can't quite remember who?
Do you think saving a different world, when so much of their life has been about saving their own, has any effect on them?
Who knows? But, finally, when it's all over, when all of Arceus' herculean tasks have been completed. and Origin Dialga has been calmed. The plates collected, Volo defeated and Giratina soothed at last. When the Pokedex is finally done, everything is back to relative peace and normalcy, and Hero ascends above the peak of Mt. Coronet, Arceus returns their memories and grants Hero's wish. It sends Hero back.
(Do you think, upon encountering Arceus and regaining their memories, they would beg the deity to save their own world?)
It sends Hero back to exactly the same moment it took them from. Amidst a roiling time storm, spiraling between fractals of whens and wheres with no idea where they'll come back.
For the second time in their life Hero, who is now a Pokemon, awakens on a beach confused and alarmed by an overwhelming sense of familiarity that they just. can't. place. Alongside this terrible sense that something is deeply, deeply wrong, that something incredibly important is missing. Like this exact thing has happened before. But they can't remember when. In fact, they can't remember anything!
Because wouldn't you know it!? Their memories are gone. Again.
Cue Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky!
There are so many similarities between PMD:S and Legends Arceus. Waking up with no memories on a beach outside an unfamiliar town by a stranger who recognizes your skills and asks you to join their team? Joining a community, tasked with exploring, learning and helping others who need it? Meeting different interesting folks and Pokemon across the world and befriending them? Time travel shenanigans? Meeting a helpful stranger who ends up betraying you and you find out they were, in fact, just the pawn of a much more powerful entity who was the true cause of the current state of the world? Like, besides Darkrai and Arceus in Sky and Legends respectively, even the legendary Pokemon that are focused on are the same too. < and I'm aware that's because PMD:S was a gen 4 game and Legends Arceus takes place in ancient Sinnoh, but like, still.
Do you think the Hero sees themselves in Grovyle at all? Someone in an unfortunate situation being accused of and punished for something they didn't do, and despite all that still striving to help? Do you think they're surprised by Dusknoir's betrayal? When the truth comes out on those stockades, do you think Hero takes it in stride? Do you think that Hero sees Rei and Akari in their partner? That nervousness slowly diminishing over time as the two work together? That need to be dependable?
Lots to think about.
Anyway, all this is because I like the idea that a Hero who put up with Kamado's shit would absolutely NOT put up with Chatots.
#Hero has a great respect for Captain Cyllene and Wigglytuff is a breath of fresh air compared to Kamados constant disapproval and distrust#THERE'S NO WAY absolutely no respect for Chatot in this house /hj#Also you could play with it a bit#What if Hero doesn't lose their memories?#Either upon entering Hisui or coming back or both: maybe they remember everything! How would that change things?#writing idea#pokemon#pokemon mystery dungeon#pokemon legends arceus

Digimon Adventure V-Tamer 01 - Disc 7
There's a mysterious tamer/partner on the inside of the cover of this one. Will there be another crossover omake or are those just new characters...?
Ch. 41
-Neo really reminds me of Yami Bakura with his heavy eye liner and white hair. (Except he's less interesting cuz he was rotten from the start).
(God, Yu-Gi-Oh! could get ugly...)
-Omegamon powering up via the "power of hope" and then the other side characters conveniently being like "we still have things to do here, so we can't go with you, Hideto" felt pretty contrived. I guess whoever wrote this likes to handle a small amount of characters at once and I can respect that.
-Yaoi anatomy spotted. Neo's waist is literally slimmer than his neck. What is this Winx Club!?
Ch. 42
-I stand corrected, we're now cutting back and forth between Hideto and Taichi and the rest of the gang. I like this, keeps the pace quick and the plot interesting.
-Neo's henchmen (Neo Devimon) beating up Omegamon when he was already half dead felt pretty dark. Are they called Neo Devimon because of Neo or is that just an awkward coincidence? lol
Ch. 43
-Jijimon kinda looks like a little furry penis lol. In black and white it's hard to distinguish where his head ends and his body begins.
-What was Birdramon there for (next to Jijimon)? Literally served zero purpose...
-Suddenly they threw all these new digimon at me at once! I had to look up where Callismon's name comes from and apparently it's supposed to be a reference to Callisto. All the new digis are boring to me because they're the buff, robo-cop-esque variety. Meh. (This is why I prefer Pokemon designs, more animal-like and cute compared to digimon's human-like and manly)
Ch. 44
-Whelp, that explains why I've never seen Callismon before, Neo created him! Whenever they introduce these man-made digis, I wonder what their fate will be in terms of reappearances. Will we never see Callismon in another part of the franchise since Neo wouldn't be around? Guess we'll see...
-Not much happened this chapter, just some predictable battling -yawn- a lot of padding in this manga.
Ch. 45
-Boring end to a boring battle. Once again, this just felt like padding.
-Demon's castle looks more like a factory plant than a castle. Ooglay
-Neo is such a sore loser. Every time his minions lose he's like "no, you see, I MEANT to do that. All according to keikaku."
-Digimon Frontier Generation Omake
-This volume ends with a one-shot Frontier cross-over omake. Why did they just skip over Tamers? Oh well...I've never seen Frontier so this is my first exposure to it. Feels backwards...
-What time period is this supposed to take place in? Taichi and Takuya just get yanked out of their own adventures and into a new one. Realistically, shouldn't they be like "uh, I'm kinda busy!" Especially Taichi who was on his way to Demon's castle lol. Maybe time freezes when you go to a parallel world tho...
-So Frontier has humans digivolving? Do they all digivolve into human-like digimon? I hope not...that sounds boring. Also, I guess that means way less characters and higher stakes for the kids? I think I would miss the digimon-human relationships...(Edit: apparently they have a human form and a beast form, but the beast form looked pretty human-like to me so meh).
-So is Babamon parallel world Jijimon or does Babamon also exist in Taichi's world? I bet we'll see them paired up at some point lol
-They really said "I know, brown hair and goggles!" for Tamers' protagonist. -sigh- groundbreaking...
-Zero uses Dragon Impulse, but wasn't that the attack he was supposed to never use again? Fuck his lifespan I guess...
-This manga had some kind of barcode gimmick that I can't use without a toy. Wonder what they do lol...I do think it's a clever gimmick that I would have enjoyed as a kid. It'd probably be a QR code nowadays.
This felt very similar to the Digimon Adventure 02 collab. Fluffy little filler omake where two worlds collide and the kids learn to respect their differences. I'll always enjoy a crossover, even if they are kinda low effort.

Leppa and Wiki for the Pokémon berry asks?
LEPPA - What's your favourite monster type aesthetically?
It's a really hard choice between Dark and Ghost, but I'd probably have to pick Dark due to the fact that Krookodile is my favourite monster Of All Time (and other Dark types like Absol, Houndoom, and Mightyena are longtime childhood favourites).
Ghost is very much a close second, though.
WIKI - Do you have ideas for things you’d like to make in the future? Or share something from your WIPs!
*cracks knuckles*
I've honestly wanted to write and create more for Pokemon for a long time now.
I have a deep love for Nuzlocke stories and comics (namely the incomplete Petty Nuzlocke duology, Ky-nim's Diamond/White duology, and my personal favourite: DragonWolfRooke's SoulSilver NuzRooke challenge) and that's how my desire to tell Pokemon stories started. I've played a few successful Nuzlockes of my own and have even crafted stories around at least two of them, but I have trouble physically manifesting my creative thoughts a lot of the time, so they just kind of... exist on the back-burner now. I'm also nervous about sharing them because a lot of those stories are heavily self indulgent, to the point of the main character being a borderline self-insert.
One such Nuzlocke was a two-partner (OmegaRuby/X) that I ended up completing. Since then it's kind of transformed into a three-part series with three different protagonists that I've since dubbed the Possession Series; it's based around the idea that the monster Gods have the ability to possess humans as puppets in order to aid in their release if they're conscious enough to do so. The current span of games is now Emerald, X, and Shield. All three of these stories include ships and fanchildren, which I feel like I can't post in good standing for Pokemon for some reason.
More recently I've been focusing on expository one-shots centered around ships and worldbuilding. Currently the two WIPs I have are:
"Carnivore", a Hassel/Brassius one-shot from a third-person perspective of Brassius' life growing up and meeting Hassel.
"To the Victor Goes the Spoils", a Victor/Hop one-shot from a third-person perspective of Victor's life being Hop's childhood best friend and dealing with his feelings of being better than Hop at the latter's lifelong dream.
I very much would like to write both of these, and I have a pretty good start on both, but... creativity is fickle at best, and I have a lot going on in my head right now. All good things, don't get me wrong! But it's hard to focus on one project when I want to do so many things at once.

So I said I was gonna make a post for my two boys so here it is! (I apologize in advance for how long this might get)
First up is Fuyuki he is a Hisuian Zoroark hybrid and has been living alone in the Alabaster Icelands for....a very long time as he is the last living memember of a long gone village(remember that side quest called "Traces of a Lost Village"? That's what I'm using here). His age is unknown(I.E. he lost track of it he is however hundreds of years old) so he usually says he's in his late 20s. Since he is part Zoroark he can use their shape-shifting abilities and is much more durable than your average human. His body is almost always cold to the touch and has a very slow pulse due to the Ghost Typing. He can understand what pokemon are saying and will be a translator if asked,he can also use up to 6 Pokemon Moves: Shadow Claw,Shadow Sneak,Bitter Malice,Shadow Ball,Slash and Snarl.
He is 7ft tall so he easily towers over people but he usually avoids others due to his own personal fears of rejection due to his appearance and what he is, he will never approach a human in his true form unless he has a bond with them(In my own personal thing Only Ingo and Lucas have seen his true form).
The reason he lives alone now though is that he lost his entire pack due to the Pearl clan and has a deep resentment for them as a result but can't bring himself to harm them so he usually plays trucks and steals supplies as his form of revenge(my personal headcanon is that this happened a year before the events of Legends Arceus). He does however have respect for the wardens and makes sure nothing bad happens to them even if they're part of the pearl clan. There's a lot more I could say for Fuyuki but I'll leave it at this for now and move on to my other boy.
This is Shane Davies but he usually just goes by Davies he's 27, 5'4ft and he's just all around very smol,Which is why he always has his Scolipede by his side who acts as his service animal due to Davies' bad anxiety and poor health. Davies is actually rarely seen in the main parts of Gear Station but that's because he is Ingo and Emmet's personal secretary and is often found keeping their office up and running. Davies does however come out to the floor if they're short staffed and is always ready and willing to lend a hand and so is his Scolipede.
He also has an Absol and a shiny Sylveon as his other pokemon partners. His Sylveon usually stays by his side but his Absol accompanies the other Depot Agents so that they can use Absol's disaster sense to prevent any accidents from happening and get things repaired whenever they maintainence.
I do have more for both of my boys but my anxiety has been kicking my ass all day so I'll leave it at this today thank you for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day!
#Holy hell I'm really nervous about posting this hhhhhhhh....#Ds does artsy things#DS's OCs#Fuyuki the Hisuian Zoroark hybrid#Shane Davies the Depot Agent/Secretary#Pokemon#Pokemon oc#Hhhhhhh...

i find the idea of "what pokemon partner could you feasibly have currently" to be interesting. like of course in the ideal pokemon world id have ALL my favs. but if i had to select One of my favorite pokemon that i could most likely take care of if it showed up on my doorstep... it's such a difficult question to ask! id love to know what other people's picks would be (my own rambles below)
my immediate answer would probably be Zangoose, since i already have experience with fat grumpy kitties. i live in a place that is far too hot for weavile, sadly, who is part ice. and sneasler is a cat with venomous claws, which is a little too risky for me. unfortunately, without a lunar wing, darkrai would be off the table, even if its definitely the coolest option. latios or latias would probably require a diet of more specific foods and a higher amount than i could afford, given that they're plane dragons large enough for a human to ride. even though it would be sick as fuck. the same could probably said of most other legendaries; the swords, for example, or the bird trios. they're large enough that they probably require an insane diet.
i think Deoxys is also a feasible answer, albeit a more fanciful one. deoxys doesnt really need to eat, as far as we know, even though it's capable of it in the games. and i would love to have a weird spaghetti alien to hang out with. scizor and lurantis would be off the table, because i'm actually deeply terrified of insects and having a gigantic one in my home would be scary i think. even if lurantis isnt actually a bug pokemon, its still a praying mantis. i don't live close enough to water to be able to take care of a kabutops, or things that would be engaging for what seems like a very high-energy predator with swords for arms. i already have a dog, and he doesnt even HAVE swords
gallade might be one of the most symathetic, i think if i were to expect any non-mythical or legendary pokemon to understand the concept of capitalism it would be some of the psychic types. i think i could teach my gallade to understand things such as taxes, but that may inspire him to take a very direct approach to fixing capitalism so that i can buy him more treats. so that's out the window. can't have a ceruledge, either, houses tend to be flammable.
a zoroark would be super cool, and probably really warm and soft to cuddle with given all its fluffy fur, but the idea of a canine larger than i am that can play extreme mind games with me if it decides it's angry with me is also frankly terrifying. i'm not sure how to explain it; the idea of a space alien that can shapeshift trying to kill me is one thing. i bought my ticket the moment i let a deoxys into my home. and zangoose, again, is just like a big grumpy cat, and i know how to deal with those. but a zoroark is just, like, a big weird dog. so the idea of having one of those and it making a magical attempt on my life is more upsetting. also i'm kind of scared of very large canines. so that one's off the table too
raichu would also be so awesome i think. there are definitely risks that come from having a living high-voltage generator in your home, especially considering raichu typically have a bit of a high-strung demeanor, but it's an oversized jerboa. i could probably find ways to play or otherwise engage with it in activities that would help burn off the energy without blowing up my house. and, if a storm takes the power out, i could make sure the fridge and freezer can keep running so we don't have all the food in the house go bad. i think especially having a pikachu, or just an electric type in general, could be useful as a house pet as long as you learn how to train it to not blow the place up.
i think some of the starters like blaziken or meowscarada would be cool, falling under the same sort of umbrella as gallade. they seem intelligent enough to understand roommates and shit. but i'm not equipped to talk about the extensive and blurred line in pokemon between "household pet with magical powers" and "furry roommate with a language barrier" on this post

Can I get some fun facts about gardevoirs, please?
Gardevoir Facts
-The scientific name for Gardevoir is "Psychicae Sentihominen" Which roughly translates to "Psychic feeling human"
-The pokedex doesn't mention anything about gardevoir's horns, but they are still able to sense the emotions of others with it
-Gardevoirs are good pokemon to have when dealing with trauma, as they sense others' emotions. They usually comfort their trainers by using calm mind or soothing them by rubbing their head with their hands
-Since ralts can't see very well (only bottom of their "feet") they developed a way to sense their surroundings with psychic abilities. These abilities never go away, so gardevoir can "see" even when their eyes are closed!
-When nursing, gardevoir will keep young ralts and ralts eggs under their "dress" (flaps of skin) to keep them warm throughout the night
-When you remove the hair on their head, gardevoirs (and gallades) are shown to have a short muzzle
-A lot of Princess movies have been inspired by gardevoir, as they look like princesses and have a nurturing side to a lot of young pokemon
-But even with the princess theme, ancient Hoenn, Galar, and Paldea would use them as nights for their power and protective nature
-The gardevoir have many similarities to humans, and scientists believe that we might've shared a common ancestor with this line (don't be weird with this information, please)
-In the Victorian era of Galar, it was common for wealthy families to dress up gardevoirs in expensive and rare clothing
-Male gardevoir tend to be taller and have longer limbs than female gardevoir
-Their hair is a lot more stiff than human hair, and takes a lot longer to grow
-Gardevoirs Hoenn and Sinnoh name, サーナイト (sirknight) is what people would call when they needed help from a knight. The name stuck around with gardevoir as knights were usually accompanied by them
-Gardevoirs horns are attached their heart. This fact also applies with gallade. It's best not to touch it, as it can hurt a lot
-In 50s Kalos, gardevoirs and kirlias spiked in popularity as young ballet dancers would look to it as inspiration
-There's myths of them all around the world of them being descendants of angels
Also, if you're curious, here's a link to gallade facts because they're in the same evolution line

4 and 7 for the ask game? :3
YAP SESH INCOMING
4. what did you name your hero and partner characters? and why?
My main team is my Treecko hero named Briar and my Totodile partner named Fangz in PMD2
I'm going to be so real with you, I'm very bad at coming up with names for my Pokemon on the spot that aren't something silly, and I knew that I'd just be stuck on the personality quiz for a long time trying to craft a perfect thematic name for my hero and partner (esp since being able to change your duo's name isn't a thing until PMD3)
So, I just decided to name them whatever my first thought was and come up with a lore reason later as to why they were like that while I progressed through the game. Briar is a pretty fitting name for a Treecko, and it also happens to be a human name. Fangz was Briar's pitch for their trans partner's new name, who admired Briar so much right from the start that she practically accepted it as a badge of honor.
7. How do you interpret the future trio's relationship to eachother?
Dusknoir and Grovyle: Extremely awkward but very devoted pair, especially on Dusknoir's end. Regardless of whether their relationship is platonic or romantic, I imagine it's hard to not be deeply attached after changing Dusknoir's worldview in such a radical way, perhaps resulting in Dusknoir idolizing Grovyle in a way that borders on somewhat unhealthy at times. The two have a lot to work through, but for now, being held while gently bickering instead of having to be at one another's throats is a nice change of pace.
Grovyle and Celebi: Heads up, this is my biggest NOTP. That being said, I HC that Grovyle admires Celebi just as much as she admires him (platonically). Where Celebi is very passionate, wishing she could grab what little flickers of joy she can find in the paralyzed future and share them with Grovyle as much as she can, Grovyle feels that the best act of love he can do for those around him is to just bring this mission to an end as soon as possible, not let them suffer more than they have to. Perhaps this prevents them from being as close as they could be, and why Celebi ultimately chooses not to directly speak to him about how much she cares and wants to spend more time with him despite her admiration being very obvious to hero and partner.
Dusknoir and Celebi: Alright, this one is a lot more personalized, so just hear me out. These two practically grew up together in the ruined hidden land under Dialga's rule, but drifted apart as they grew older and Dusknoir took on more and more responsibilities as Dialga's second in command. For a long time, if felt as if they were allowed to experience some semblance of childhood as long as they remained by one another's side. Their renewed post-game friendship is tense... but they're glad to have one another once again. I like to think that Celebi was Dusknoir's childhood crush, and feels genuine joy at the idea of getting to meet her all over again as allies. It's tense the first few times they speak, but I think they're able to understand and open up to one another a bit more quickly than the previous two relationships.
As a whole: They've got history and all sorts of things to discuss now that their mission is complete. I strongly advise against separating them, they're like cats that need to be adopted as a group because they can't stand being apart after what they went through. Just let them have one good thing, and let that one good thing be one another's company.

Since it's anonymous, I can't answer them directly. Sorry if it seems I'm hijacking the post.
As someone who does a LOT of Pokemon fanfiction/world building, it also depends on how accessible you want your version of the Pokemon world to be, and whether competition is still turn-based or fast play. If you're just doing normal competition, like Gym battles where the opponent may have been informed they have a disabled individual competing, they probably have ways to work around this since being a Trainer is so vital to the world. You can be creative with how they may go about it too, since the Pokemon World functions differently than ours. So, for instance, if both Trainers hearing / knowing what command was given is vital for competition and they're on opposite sides of the field, it could be that the Gyms have large screens so both the opponents and the audience can see what was said because they're already so far apart due to the field they may not hear them clearly in the first place. It could also be the Referee has a Psychic type on hand so both sides can "hear" even with a bit of delay for translation of information from one side to the other before the attack is issued.
Outside of a controlled setting, like Trainers on the road, would require a bit more leeway. Either the deaf Trainer has had to find a way to work around the disadvantage (like the memorization mentioned above) and just need to be quick minded enough to react to an attack after it's already in motion because they're guessing what's coming from a number of factors (lip reading, body gesture, was the Pokemon charging up for the attack, is there a display of energy, that might give away what it was before unleashing, ect). If so, that could be a trust building issue with their Pokemon partner(s) that the Trainer actually does know what they're doing to react in time. Or maybe they don't and the story focuses on the team effort to learn to overcome it. It's also possible that, as Anonymous brought up, that the Trainer has a level of trust with their partner to react on their own. There were Battle Facilities in-game where you don't have any control over your Pokemon and just see what the Pokemon do on their own (I think the AI decides partly from Natures?) so it's not unheard of in-universe.
Both of these are in the mindset that the direct command is the important factor. In a fast-paced action sequence like you would realistically assume is what they're facing when going against Teams or wild opponents, the command could be whatever is best for the disabled individual. One example I've written for was a non-verbal Trainer who used whistle commands instead of the usual call and response, and can have a very fast response time if you've ever seen anything like sheep herding competition. It may also depend on their partner(s) considering that Pokemon have a wide variety of powers and abilities that the deaf Trainer may have put together a team built around their personal need such again, Psychics would be good because they could communicate more mentally than directly. Could also toy with Rock / Ground (thumping the ground in some manner to read each each other), Flying (could flit in patterns so the Trainer can read their visuals and decide a command) or Electric (where there's just a "vibe" the deaf Trainer might be able to get from feeling the actions or a signal to what their Pokemon is wanting to do via energy readings or light signals). Could also just specialize in larger Pokemon so their actions may be naturally more exaggerated, or human-shape Pokemon that are actually able to be taught how to sign even if the Trainer may still give verbal commands.
There's just a lot of room to play with this universe and I love it so much. Best of luck either way, and have fun! 💜
I'm planning on writing a Pokemon fanfic where the trainer is hard of hearing. They can speak and give commands but it is also normal for trainers to hear the opposing trainers commands and respond to that not just what they see. Which would put them at a big disadvantage, wouldn't it if they could only process visual information? I know you said stuff before about combat being too fast and people don't 'call out attacks' but that doesn't fit here. But also on the other hand, Pokemon don't alwa
But also on the other hand, Pokemon don't always obey their their trainers (usually a trust issue) but perhaps this actually could be a good thing and help turn that disadvantage around since if they trust each other enough for the Pokemon to respond appropriately by themselves if they feel the trainer is making a bad call or not quick enough to respond to an attack called out by the opposing trainer. What do you think? Any other ideas?
Something to remember: Pokemon is a game. I don't mean in the meta-sense that the anime and ancillary materials are based off of the video game and card game, the way you could, for example, describe the Fallout TV series as based on a game. I mean, literally, that the structure of Pokemon itself is a competitive game.
When you start stripping it apart, and really dig into the structure, combat in pokemon is a game where the trainers are the players, and their pokemon are the pieces they're using on the board. This is an important concept to grasp when you're dissecting the material, because it informs why it functions.
There is a concept in games called an action stack. When you're playing a strategically intensive game, you'll often come across some version of this concept. Basically, you announce your action to your opponent, they then get an opportunity to take a legal response (if one exists), and then the action resolves. In situations like this, calling out your actions is a necessary step in keeping your opponent apprised of changes in the game state. It's also (often) necessary as a step to give them the opportunity to respond (whether that's part of the same action stack, or as a following action.)
Now, much like in Pokemon, in casual games, these kinds of declarations, and even the structure of the action stack itself, can become very ad hoc. You wouldn't do this in a tournament environment, but in casual circumstances you'll see players doing things like say, “I'm playing this,” or just drop the card on the table as part of their appropriate action window. (Though, again, this behavior is extremely rude in a tournament environment.)
As you mentioned, the instructions given by the trainer is, technically, for the Pokemon's benefit, rather than the opponent. Also, pieces on the board not following the player's commands is a concept that does exist in some tabletop games. For example: if you botch a Leadership test in Warhammer, you're not going to get the results you were hoping for.
So in this specific case, being privy to your opponent's actions ahead of time is really more an example of intelligence gathering (even though it's at a very limited level.) And, this is, absolutely, a consideration in competitive games. If you can accurately predict your opponent's next action it can let you take preemptive steps to mitigate their move, or even outright prevent them from doing what they want.
Not being able to collect intelligence conventionally is a little bit of a problem, but it's not necessarily a deal breaker. A lot of the time, intelligence gathering in games (for an experienced player) is testing limited information against extensive system knowledge to make educated guesses about what your opponent will do. If you have awareness of the board, you don't always need to actually have specific knowledge about what your opponent is planning. Meaning, if they're extremely knowledgeable about what's out there, they might not need to hear their opponents' every command. With enough familiarity, each pokemon is recognizable on sight, and they have limited move options determined by their appearance (with the occasional outlier or exception.)
Also, lipreading is a thing. It's a lot harder when you're just sampling general use of the language, but when you're looking at a limited number of individual words (and you know which words could be issued because of the aforementioned system knowledge) it can become quite possible for someone to pick out what a trainer is telling their pokemon, even if they wouldn't be able to hear the words normally (or lipread a stray conversation between strangers.)
Incidentally, if you're thinking that it's unreasonable for someone to have the stat sheets for over 1k pokemon committed to memory, that's in line with what you need to have committed to memory for a number of competitive games, if you're operating at a high level. Chances are, if you're a highly ranked M:TG player, you'll probably have at least 2-3k cards committed to memory even if you can't use them in Modern anymore.
-Starke

Y'ALL I JUST HAD AN EPIPHANY RE: GELIDIA AND THE TIME LOOP ULTRA BEAST THING
(And I'm kinda almost completely reworking their character as a result)
Okay so in trying to figure out UB-Ouroboros, even though time loops are a fairly recent trope/narrative device (at least according to the minor research I've done), there are examples of similar things in ancient stories. For example, Prometheus: as punishment for giving fire to human, Prometheus is bound to a rock, and an eagle is sent to eat his liver, which would grow back overnight only to be eaten again the next day. Prometheus is essentially stuck in a time loop!
So! Gelidia could be an analogue of Prometheus, and the UB could be a mix of Zeus and Aion (the latter being a god of time, particularly cycles).
So the UB could be electric/dragon type, and maybe Gelidia was a member of the Ultra Recon Squad but tried to capture this UB in the hopes that it could bring back light to their world. Unfortunately, an Ultra Wormhole opened up and took both of them to the pokemon world.
I kinda want to change what Gelidia's partner pokemon is to a fire type. As funny as it is to just have a shiny Mew, thematically, I think they should have a fire type.
And maybe instead of having landed in Kanto, they actually landed in Area Zero. Maybe to keep just a tinge of humor, their partner pokemon could be an Iron Moth they just kept following them around (which in canon, that pokemon is known to do).
UB-Ouroboros hates Gelidia for trying to capture it, as well as being caught by an Ultra Wormhole and taken to another world, so it puts Gelidia in time loops as an attempt to torture her. Unfortunately, they landed on opposite sides of the world, so it uses all it's energy just focusing on putting Gelidia in time loops and can't prevent Gelidia from breaking out of them. It is slowly but surely attempting to hunt her down to put her in a permanent loop.
Gelidia's short term memory still sucks, but I think I will have it that they do remember bits and pieces of their home world, so they are aware from the start that they're an alien.
They both possessive and generous at the same time. If they buy or are given something, they will despise anyone who tries to take it away; however, if asked for something, there's a good chance they'll let you borrow or keep it (depending on how attached they are to it).
Despite their very sensitive skin & being prone to heat sickness, Gelidia loves to spend time outside in the sun. While part of them yearns for the home they had before, they don't really want to leave this world.
They still enjoy reading romance novels and work as a cashier at Chansey Supply in Mesagoza, but figuring out how they ended up in this world is kinda on the back burner. They are just vibing. *cue that tweet that says "I was put on this earth to do one thing. Luckily I forgot what it was so I can do whatever I want"*
Edit: okay upon further research I may also try to sneak some references to Pandora in Gelidia as well since she was also part of the retribution for Prometheus stealing back fire for humanity (and Pandora is just one of those figures that I'm fond of). Might do this more with Gelidia's design, as Pandora was dressed in a silver gown and veil, although Hermes giving Pandora "lies and crafty speech" and a "deceitful nature" lends itself to Gelidia love for white lies. Plus if you look at pre-Hesiodic myth, Pandora was a giver of gifts, rather than the receiver she's shown as by Hesiod. This duality also lends itself to Gelidia being both possessive generous.
So Gelidia is both Prometheus (the thief who brought a gift to humanity & was punished for it) and Pandora (a controversial figure, known for bring evil to mankind but is not the villain she's often painted to be). Gelidia wished to help her people with a grand gift, only to fail and be sent to another world & punished. I could also put as, she sees herself as Prometheus (as hero unjustly punished) whereas UB-Ourboros sees her as Pandora (bringer of bad things).
Also, unrelated to all that, toying with the idea that rather than being half blind, Gelidia suffers from bouts of temporary blindness due to a rare disease but I'm not 100% sure yet. Idk how to justify it beyond "I felt like it", but the half blind thing also feels just tacked on (which it kinda is, to justify having her hair cover one eye).
