on the one hand i understand classifying the entirety of la franja with the catalan countries. on the other hand, most if not all of the ppl there feel more aragonese than catalan
#(the tags are a whole ass paragraph be warned)#and this is without counting the anti-catalanism thats present all over#but also counting la franja as one just bc they speak catalan and its part of aragon is just. so. its not how it should be done#bc i believe there should be more horizontality. if that makes sense#ppl from benavarri tamarit etc have more in common with ppl from alcarràs la poblla de segur etc#than with ppl from fraga mequinensa etc. who have more in common with ppl from lleida serós etc#than with ppl from calaceit vallderoures montroig. who have more in common w ppl from morella gandesa etc#and yes this happens many times when grouping ppl and territories. but i think this was done. uhm. more 'a drede'#by both catalans (oh you speak the same as us youre part of us) and aragonese (oh you speak very different from us youre like /them/)a#and since that territorry was all in aragon they decided to clump it together#its also just so surreal to see towns and villages in aragon be classified as 'la franja' instead of. idk. 'vall de l'isàvena'/'ribagorça'#or matarranya or cinca/cinca baixa/vall de la cinca#bc other places are granted that privilege (balaguer will be classified as 'la noguera' and so will camarasa and àger and so on)#i kind of went off tangent of the point i was originally trying to make but i hope yall understood me (hopefully?)#z xarre
