my absolute favorite thing about my rewatch of the anime is that i’ve gotten my husband to watch it with me (he claims he’s just “tryna be a good husband and try the things i like” but wtv) and he saw the scene where ende**** ‘s flame turned blue for like half a second while fighting the nomu’s in s2. he commented how “wow that’s badass” and then i watched the light fade from his eyes as i tell him it ain’t shit bc his son uses blue flames all the time

hi heidi ur bnha secret santa here again! i'm sorry u've been feeling under the weather, i hope it gets better asap.💕
u mentioned ur fav characters are katsuki, mirio and shouto 👀 Did u like these characters from the first time they showed or did they slowly become ur favs? Do u have some fav moments of them u'd like to share? Hope the rest of ur week is wonderful 🥰
hello bb! and i'm feeling mostly better! thank you for asking. <3 I hope you also have a great rest of the week!!
I think out of the three Shouto is the one who I actually really liked initially, because his design is cool and his quirk is awesome and he's voiced by Kaji Yuki which always makes me feel partial toward a character. LOL In general, I'm invested in the Todoroki fam, but Shouto is the root of that because I'm most curious about how it plays into his overall development. His backstory was heartbreaking and I absolutely love his breakthrough moment when he's fighting Izuku in the sports festival. I think that moment was when I truly became attached to him. As well as when he comes to help Izuku and Iida against stain. His development just gets better and better, too. But those moments especially are when I got super invested. Throw Dabi into the mix and I'm just like asgsdhdfh 👀👀👀
Bakugo had to grow on me in the beginning because at first I didn't care for how he treated Izuku but, like, his development has been so, SO good. And overall I just get a kick out of his personality and behavior. Like he's just so obnoxious lmao! But I also appreciate that there's a lot more beneath the surface with him and how that plays in his development and his relationships with the rest of 1A, and most especially with Izuku. It's almost hard for me to pinpoint any particular scenes where I'm like "that's it, this is the moment I fell in love" because it's all so gradual and feels so naturally done that it gets to a point where suddenly you realize that yeah, this dude really has had quite the development. As bad as it might sound though, I think most of my favorite moments with him really are the ones where he realizes that like, no he's not the best. Yes, he has to learn how to cooperate with and even lean on others. How he comes to acknowledge Izuku over time and finally apologizes to him and is now making an effort to truly treat Izuku with respect. When he fights with Izuku over his grief over believing that he's the reason why All Might had to retire. There's just so much to unpack and it's so fun to watch him grow and change and become a better person. I just love all of those little accumulative breakthrough moments with him so much. I have such a soft spot for characters that start off as really just plain unlikeable and develop into someone who I honestly feel I can truly admire. Like it's just so cool lol and I think Bakugo fits this type of character perfectly.
As for Mirio he's just precious. At first I didn't think much of him but as I read through the Overhaul arc I fell more and more in love with his character. He's just so fun! When he's showing off his quirk to 1A I got a lot of laughs and I love how, despite him losing his quirk, he continued to be an optimistic and bright person and poured so much energy into helping Eri and making her life better. When he continues to protect her during the Overhaul arc to try and save her, even after losing his quirk, I just felt so moved and emotional and I think overall his role in that arc is what truly made it one of my favorites in the series. Seeing him lose someone important to him (Nighteye) also just made me feel like, so empathetic toward him and super invested in his character. I actually still need to get caught up on the manga outside of just seeing the big events, but hearing that he was able to get his quirk back is something that made me really happy! And I'm really looking forward to getting caught up with that. I just really overall enjoy his demeanor and positive outlook on life. It's really refreshing!
I hope this helps. 😅
