index (to be added)
El: I think I'm drunk again
"think or know?"
El: know then
El: turns out I didn't have sex yesterday
El: god I already masturbated twice today!!!
You could survive without that information, a snicker leaving your mouth at your best friend's messages. She had a date yesterday. Well, you're not sure if it was officially a date or she just hung out with one of her co-workers she's been flirting with for weeks now.
Elaine broke up with her then boyfriend recently. This co-worker of hers has caught her eyes even when she was in a relationship (with a total douchebag). Not mentioning he's still in a relationship with his girlfriend. They're not on good terms either but still. It's complicated and who are you to judge?
"make it three then"
El: it's not helping :/
"because he's all you're thinking about"
That one is true. He's been a topic number one in any of your conversations.
El: that's true lol
El: but I'm kinda scared to get involved with someone from my work
"I'm not surprised, it usually is like that"
"but look, you're never gonna find out if you don't try it"
While you're trying to be as supportive as a best friend can be, you do have your own opinion about her little shenanigans. But in the end, you do want her to be happy and not be depressed because of her two failed relationships from before. This guy at least seems to be treating her right and he's a proper gentleman. Not a red flag which cannot be said about the previous two ones.
El: so you think I should give it a chance?
Jumping from one relationship to another is... you're not sure what to think of it. Everyone's different and you try to keep being open-minded. If he makes her happy and she wants to try it, why not?
You know you would be more wary, especially after a heartbreak. You would focus on yourself first, recharge and regain self-love or whatever people do after a break-up.
Before you can type your reply, another message pops up.
El: because he treats me right and everything's perfect... I'm just scared of that one fact of working together
"well working with friends or family never does any good, the same goes for relationships"
That's a fact. In most cases it's the worst anyone can do.
"but try it if you feel like that's the right thing"
You're not one of those friends who give false hope. You're honest, try to be without getting too honest which could potentially hurt someone. Elaine is a wonderful woman. You've known her for years and have been best friends just as long. It's unfortunate the majority of your communication is done through messages and occasional video calls. Ever since you moved out of the country, you've been away from everyone.
However, you knew what you would lose in order to pursue a different life you always wanted.
El: what about you tho? have you found yourself a job yet?
The question you've found unpleasant back home – and you still do.
"no :("
El: don't worry! you just got there
El: I'm sure you'll find one soon x
Sighing, you wish Elaine's words would come true. Preferably very soon.
You send her a quick thank you with a heart emoji before someone slides onto the opposite seat. Met with a wide grin and crinkled eyes at the ends, your before neutral expression turns into a surprise and happiness. You didn't hear him coming!
"Hobi!" you greet him after not seeing his face for a few days.
He's been your friend for quite some time now. Actually, it's safe to say he's been a huge help ever since you decided to move here. It lasts until now and without his help, you're not sure if you would've ever had the guts to leave the comfort of familiarity of your country.
"Hey," he greets, laughing a little as the air becomes more cheerful. Or maybe it's only you and the fact he's no stranger to you.
Having prying eyes on you almost all the time is still a little uncomfortable. As if they knew you're a foreigner right out of the bat.
Hoseok chose to meet up at his favorite place. He's a little late, but you don't have the heart to scold him for it. You know it's only your anxiety of having to be here alone, feeling strangers' eyes on you. Luckily, you did the typical trick. Staring into your phone, minding your business and trying to act unbothered.
"Have you ordered anything yet?"
"Ah, no," you shake your head, "Was waiting for you."
You had to tell the older lady to give you more time since your friend should be arriving anytime soon.
"Sorry for running late, traffic here is no joke." he apologizes, shrugging his overshirt as he hangs it over the bag of his stool.
"It's fine." you tell him, catching his amused expression which causes you to purse your lips.
"No scolding?"
"I was about to but I changed my mind."
"Of course you were." he laughs.
Before another word can be uttered and a fit of giggles surround the round table, what you assume is the owner – the same lady that asked you for your order earlier – comes back with the same kind smile. Hoseok says both your orders, already knowing your usual choice since you're here the third time already. Like you said, it's his favorite place to eat. Korean barbecue is definitely worth every penny.
"I didn't wanna tell you on the phone but–" He giggles when he notices your wary look. "You haven't found a job yet, right?" He makes sure.
For some reason, your cheeks heat up in guilt. Guilt from not being able to find out despite living here for two weeks. Okay, it might not be a long time but the whole process of finding a job is way harder. You've been through something similar back in home. Having to experience this all over again feels very saddening. You would lie if you told you haven't had any expectations. Of course, you know it's not going to be easy but still. You hoped it would be easier.
You're a little fucked up from the situation back home. The months you waited to get a job and then lose it in the span of one month. Wasn't your fault, but it still hurts though.
Shortly said, you just can't allow yourself to experience that again.
"No." you mumble, placing your elbow on the table as you prop your chin on your palm.
"Perfect," he says, met with a raised brow from you. "I have a friend."
"Oh god."
"No, listen to me," he presses.
Hoseok has a lot of friends. Different types of friends. While you haven't been able to meet most of them (which you're sure is not even possible since he's got a lot of them), you've heard of them.
"He owns a company. A very prestigious one,"
That has your eyes widening.
"He's been looking for an assistant, told me about it when we went out for a whiskey."
"Since when do you drink whiskey?"
"Not the point," he grits, "Anyway, he just mentioned it very briefly but then an idea sparked when I was home. How did I not think of it sooner? Right, like–"
"Hobi." You motion for him to shorten it and to get to the fucking point.
"Right," he laughs, "So–you should work for him."
You blink and stare, breathing out a chuckle. "Just like that?"
"Well, no." he frowns a little, "You should probably go to the interview–but honestly, you have nothing to be scared of."
"But assistant? What are the requirements? What about–"
"He's gonna tell you everything. We don't talk about work much and he only briefly mentioned looking for an assistant. But you're great and skillful. What else do you need to be an assistant?"
"I don't think it's that easy, Hobi. Especially if it's some big company like you said."
Hoseok leans back, shrugging. "He's my friend. He's gonna take you in." he promises and waves his hand, sending you a little assurement along with a wide supportive smile.
You're not sure you're assured at all. But you have nothing to lose. You told Elaine to try it because else she wouldn't know. Even though this is not about a relationship at all, there's some similarity to the situation.
And you're going to listen to your own advice.
Hoseok wasn't lying when he said about his friend's company. That alone made your stomach shrink with unease and the only thing that calmed you was the reminder of their friendship. Regardless of this successful friend of his and what he said about his business, you expected a decent and nice building.
Not a freaking tallest and biggest building on a street full of companies.
Holy shit.
That's your first reaction you luckily keep to yourself while you stare at the tall building. Oh god. You're ten seconds from running away like a coward but you can't. You simply can't let a stupid stress affect you. This is a great opportunity for you.
Plus, not to mention the lengths Hoseok went through to get you a chance to have an interview here. He talked to his friend because of you, purely because of that you can't disappoint him as well.
Staring at the building, it screams of wealth even from its exterior. Is it stupid to say it kind of looks a little intimidating? Sure, your nerves could play a role in this as well. It looks like the entire building is covered in glass, in one you can't see through from the outside. Plus it looks super clean.
Do they get it cleaned often? You laugh at your thoughts, releasing a breath you've been holding before you finally start walking toward the entrance.
The only info Hoseok gave you was time and date. He told you there's nothing to worry about and you'll find your way around. Despite the lack of information, he tried to assure you. But walking up the stairs, you mentally curse at your friend. He might've done that because he didn't want you all stressed out, but it has a complete opposite effect.
So you remind yourself of his words of assurement and just go for it.
The tall and huge door is automatic. Of course it is. It opens as soon as you're close enough, fast enough so you don't have to halt your steps which happens often with automatic doors.
Scent of freshness and (novelty?) hits you pleasantly as soon as you're inside. It's everything you see in big movies. A lot of space, minimalistic but pretty interior. Everything is modern and even people working here are dressed elegantly, in dark blue color that is matched with white.
"Miss? Where are you going?"
Almost jumping at the sudden presence beside you, you see a bulky man with a security tag attached to his elegant shirt. Even security has elegant attire? Holy fuck, Hoseok, where did you send me?
You're impressed, almost too impressed but that only sparks your stress even more.
Especially when you see the man patiently waiting for your response.
"Umm," Great. "I've got a job interview here?"
He scans you as if he's searching for any hints of lying. What is this? A fucking pentagon?
"They'll give you directions at the reception desk. Please, continue past the detector." he says professionally, pointing at the detector system you've only seen at airports.
"Thank you." You try to send him a polite smile, your legs suddenly feeling a little wobbly in those heels.
You chose an elegant outfit, a nice soft pink set with a touch of a few decent silver accessories. It's not too much but it screams of elegance which suits their theme. You paid extra attention to your make-up and hair, putting all your effort and not only because it distracted you today.
The reception desk is at the very end, not hard to miss as a huge logo of the company is lit up and attached to the marble wall. There is a young woman aware of your presence immediately, welcoming you there before asking what you are looking for. If they're surprised to see you here, they don't show it as much.
After explaining you're here for the job interview, she asks for your name and after she checks your information, she gives you directions to get there. There are a lot of employers, busy doing their job as some of them wait for an elevator. There are three of them!
Other than that, nobody really pays you any attention as a silent chatter involving business resounds inside the elevator. Some of them get out sooner, some of them wait until it's their turn.
Number twelve lits up as a robotic voice informs you of the floor you situate. You get out, not quite sure where else to go as you look left and right. A little confused, the young receptionist hasn't offered any further information beside getting out on floor twelve. That's until you see a group of young females gathered on the left side of the building. Getting a feeling this is it, you walk toward them.
There is another receptionist desk, a few chairs and leather sofa in the hallway as all of them seem to be waiting. This is it.
"Welcome, miss. Are you here for the interview?" Someone asks, catching your attention as you notice another receptionist with the same attire like the one that greeted you earlier.
This one has short hair, perfectly straightened and styled.
"Oh, hello. Yes I am." you respond lightly as she nods.
"Please sit down and make yourself comfortable. Can I offer you a glass of water?" she asks after she points toward the group of women that are waiting.
"No, thank you." you smile, luckily finding yourself a free spot where you can sit down.
It's interesting to see different types of interested parties. You notice how each of them are women and you wonder if that was a requirement or it's because of something else.
Either way, they're all dressed perfectly and definitely put their best effort. Again, Hoseok said this is a good and big company, so it makes sense everyone probably wants to work here. It's not like you don't feel like you don't fit it, even though it's stupid and they most likely want this job just as much as you do. However, some of them look confident and determined to even be here. They came prepared.
You purely judge it by their confidence that oozes out of them, without them having to talk at all.
And then there's a few of them that look nervous, even though they try their best to hide it and match other's energy.
As much as there's Hoseok enthusiasm about his friend giving you the job, nothing's sure and the huge queue just proves it.
You definitely feel like you could relate more to the latter. You're a little nervous and everyone's eyes are on the door when it gets open, another woman getting out of there. She greets the receptionist before walking away with confident steps, her heels clacking against the marble floor.
You gulp, curling your toes in your heels.
You sit there and wait. Not going to lie, you think about pulling out your phone and at least entertaining yourself with the device until it's your turn. However, no one seems to be doing that and you definitely don't want to give an impression that you don't want to be here. You can't be sure.
There are eyes everywhere, including cameras that you've noticed are in every corner. They don't miss anything. Every fuck up there possibly could be, they're going to see.
But it does make sense. They need to be protected.
One thing about you is that you don't like waiting. You can be patient but after a while you get bored. You've watched your surroundings for the past forty minutes – what else is there to do?
Your boredom is bound to end eventually and when your name is called, you spring onto your feet. They must've sent your information to the receptionist on this floor, since she never asked for your name. But that's the least of your worries when you finally walk toward the other room. Too focused on not stumbling and doing something embarrassing, you focus on your steps until you get inside the room where everyone has been walking out of.
It's huge.
This is no meeting room or room designed for job interviews. This is an office. A huge one with a freaking seating area. Your mouth is agape as you notice a similar design the whole building has. The only difference is the view over the entire city and little coziness this office has. It's slightly more personal without having any personal pictures or anything – at least that's what you've quickly caught onto.
It's hard to navigate around the room, you're not sure where to go.
"Are you going to come in or not?"
A deep voice resounds around the corner making your eyes widen and stomach shrink. Embarrassed of being called out at checking this place out and clearly not moving, you clear your throat and reach the corner.
A man.
He stands behind a desk, eyes focused down as his fingers briefly touch the stack of paper spreaded on the dark oak desk.
Before you can utter a single word, politely greet whoever this man is, he speaks again.
"Are you mute?"
What the–
"No?" you almost scoff, frowning a little which causes him to finally lift his gaze up.
He stares you up and down, scoffing silently under his breath. His dark eyes are one of the first things you notice on him. Even from a distance, you can make out the dominance in them. He's tall and has broad shoulders which are definitely more defined in the white button-up. The black suit hugs his form perfectly, like it's been designed for him.
You're not stupid. This man is important. And young. He's too young to be the CEO. Don't they have someone on their team to do the job interviews anyway? Whoever he is, he's clearly confident and full of himself. Perhaps you're mistaken but well...
He cocks his brow at you, eyes motioning at the two chairs in front of his desk. He's telling you to get there and sit down.
You listen, despite your eyes attached to his form as he no longer watches you. He sits down, making himself comfortable as he peeks into the papers. Your full name comes out of his mouth, reading it aloud as the question sits in the air for a moment.
"Yes, that's me." you jump in to answer, not wanting to make this any more awkward.
You're still slightly perplexed by the not so pleasant start. Suddenly, you understand why most of the women out there were nervous.
While you sit down and have him right in front of you just a few feet away, you try not to stare too much. He is young. He could potentially be Hoseok's friend.
"Have you brought any documents with you? CV? Documents of your skills and diplomas? Anything?"
Gulping, you nod before you pull out your finished CV that Hoseok has helped you with.
He takes it from you, flipping through the pages as he stays quiet. His face is hard to read. A frown clouds most of his features and he looks stern. Too stern for such a young male.
He briefly glances at you, while you play with your nails out of his eyesight. God. What was that look for? You know you're not overly qualified and you haven't graduated from a prestigious school. Your hope of getting this job is slowly dying down as he remains quiet before he tosses the papers onto his desk.
He leans back, glancing somewhere above your head as he sighs. "Why do you think you're suitable for this position?"
Okay, you got this. Fuck, you hate this question. You need money, clearly.
"You know, most people don't even get a chance to get to the job interview stage. Not people with your CV and education history."
"Pardon?" Your response is immediate. With an edge to your tone.
However, he is unfazed.
"Why are you here, Miss–" He stops before glancing at the papers again before saying your surname.
This dude is fucking–
Forget he's the hottest piece of man you've ever seen. You can tell right out of bat he's arrogant, a little too arrogant. You know he probably has different types of people coming into his office, you're aware your education record isn't something mind-blowing... but he can still be polite and not so rude.
And before your attitude can come to the surface, you remind yourself why you're here.
You need this.
This is your chance.
You've been staying in your AirBnB ever since you came here. Since you have no job yet, you can't exactly rent any place. So you're paying for the apartment that's your temporary home with your saved up money. You need to find a job and then a place to live in as soon as possible.
"My friend told me about this job. He knows the CEO. Maybe you could ask him, he probably knows of me."
He knows the CEO? Really, Y/N? You stupid–It makes you sound as if you're completely relying on your friend knowing the CEO. Which is not entirely true. Still, you chose your words diplomatically and maybe this man could change his attitude since you're coming from – is it an inner circle? – or in the worst case, he's–
"I'm the CEO."
Of course he is.
Fuck.
Isn't he too young to be running this place?
"Oh," you mutter, "Well, Hoseok mentioned you're looking for an assistant and–"
"And you think just because you know my friend you're suitable for this position?"
"No!" you exclaim, maybe too loudly which has you shut your mouth immediately as a frown makes it onto your face.
Minus the fact he called Hoseok his friend, when he's your friend too, he sounds almost amused and definitely rude.
"I had people graduating from Harvard coming in here before you."
Congratulations, you mentally snark.
What does he want you to say?
I'm sorry I wasn't rich and smart enough to graduate from Harvard?
"All I meant was that Hoseok mentioned you're looking for an assistant and that I should try it,"
You completely miss out the part where Hoseok was entirely confident he's going to give you the job. From the looks of it, he's far from it.
"I may not have the greatest experience in this field, or I haven't had the luck to have an outstanding education record, but I'm hard-working and I learn fast."
"Hard-working and learning fast is not enough." he informs you.
"What else is there to do to be an assistant?" you ask, your mouth shutting up once again when you see the look he gives you. Wow, he has a very intense glare. "I mean–what does it require?"
"A lot of things. Executive assistant does not only perform administrative tasks, but there's a lot of research and tasks beside it. Not to mention I need someone I can rely on whenever."
"I'm a reliable person."
"Hoseok's word is not enough." he grits through his teeth.
You frown again, starting to get pissed off at his attitude. "I can prove it to you."
"Why should I give you a chance?"
"So I can prove it to you?" you deadpan, his glare dropping as he scoffs.
"You're awful at answering questions." he notes, mumbling under his breath almost as if it's not aimed for your ears.
But you hear him regardless, pressing your lips together as you straighten yourself.
There's silence that follows. It lasts long, almost too long so you consider walking out of here. His phone vibrates as he reaches toward the device and sighs eventually.
He puts his phone to his ear, answering with a dry Yes.
He listens for a moment. Frowning as he leans against his chair and looks at the ceiling.
"Yes, she's here."
Hoseok.
He's calling him.
That has your attention as the young male whose name remains unknown for now glances back at you. With the same stoic expression, of course.
"Ho–"
He sighs, pinches his brow. He's listening, rolling his eyes here and there while you find it amusing. Though you don't dare to smile or even give him some sort of reaction that he might see.
"You owe me." he grits before ending the call.
He tosses the phone back where it was, not looking pleased at all.
"I'm doing this because Hoseok is my friend."
You stare, ignoring the way your chest clenches with sadness for some reason. Or maybe it's a disappointment and embarrassment.
"You have five working days to show me your potential. If you mess up, you're out of here."
While your not old self would tell him (very happily) fuck you, you know this is your chance to prove more things and not just to others, but to yourself as well. Even having this company's name in your CV is going to be a major help.
"Thank you." you tell him instead, standing up as he snatches your documents off his desk and hands it to you.
You snatch it back, offering him a tight smile when he glares at the obvious attitude.
"Here's the contract. Read it, do not sign it yet. Just an idea of what's awaiting for you." he explains, standing up.
You feel like nothing can prepare you for what's awaiting for you.
"I'll make sure you're not going to regret it. I mean it–I know I'm not the perfect candidate to work in your company, but I'll prove to you with my hard work that I could be. And not only because of Hoseok."
He stays silent, simply watching you. Not looking sold at all.
But you nudge your ego away and accept the challenge this man might be.
"Thank you again, Mr..."
His jaw clenches.
"Jeon."
The familiar beeping he has grown used to and is a part of his everyday life, rings around his silent office. It rips his attention off the papers in front of him. With a single click, he accepts the call from the front desk on this floor.
"Mr. Jeon, I'm sorry to disturb you but you've got a visitor." The feminine voice that is somehow a part of his everyday life as well resounds.
Brows pinching together, he stares at the phone with a slightly irritated look. Everyone knows they should not disturb him when he's in the middle of reviewing potential deals. He likes to stay focused. And even Soyeon's automatic apology did nothing.
"I don't have any visits scheduled." he responds, unimpressed and indeed bothered by the interruption.
The young woman that has been working for him almost since the very beginning keeps herself composed, not showing how intimidated she is by him.
"I'm aware, sir. But he's saying he's your friend?"
"My friend?" he deadpans.
There's only one person who could come unannounced, enough to disturb him from–
"Jung Hoseok?" she asks unsurely.
Of course it's Jung Hoseok.
No one barely comes here for visits. Everyone – and by that he means everyone that knows him personally or professionally – knows he doesn't appreciate visits. Not before his lunch and not even after. He's here to work.
A sigh makes it past his lips as he scratches his eyebrow. "Send him in."
Despite the lack of visits he barely gets – just because he doesn't want them – he still made sure people that know him are on the list. In case there is some kind of emergency and for some reason can't be contacted. You never know. He takes precautions.
Jung Hoseok is one of those people on the list.
But the difference is no one really abuses that kind of privilege that gets him through security. Basically gives him a free pass around the building.
"I get it from here, sweetheart. Thank you. He's my friend." He hears from behind the door, a chuckle of disbelief makes it out of his lips before his office door is open.
His receptionist stutters over her words but before she can make a proper sentence, his not by much older friend closes the door with a thud. Arms outstretched and wide grin, he stares at him unimpressed.
"Surprise!" Hoseok chimes, striding toward his desk as if he owns this place.
Even with his presence here, Hoseok doesn't come here often. In fact, he can't remember when was the last time his friend visited him here. But out of people coming here unannounced, Hoseok makes the most sense.
It can be seen he's not here often, momentarily ripping his gaze off the frowning and intimidating CEO to admire the spacious office.
"Indeed," he mutters.
"Oh, come on. At least look like you're happy to see me!"
"Why pretend?" he simply asks, the older pursing his lips as he rolls his eyes. "Is there a reason for your... surprising visit?"
"Of course there is," he confirms, slouching himself in one of the chairs. He sighs in content, a look of surprise at how comfortable that chair is. "Alright, I'm sorry for popping in just like that–but I was around and since you barely answer my calls–"
"I'm busy."
"I know you're, Mr. CEO."
He rolls his eyes at Hoseok.
"So I came to you."
"Why? We saw each other last week."
"I'm gonna ignore that comment," he remarks, causing the younger one to shrug. "Anyway. I thought this would be better to discuss in person."
He sighs, leaning against his chair. "Just spit it out. I'm really busy."
"Okay," he says, propping his ankle against his knee as he shakes his foot. A habit of his friend that he noticed a long time ago. "When we were hanging out, you mentioned something about being in need of an assistant."
"What? You wanna be my assistant?" he jokes, amused by the idea.
Hoseok rolls his eyes and almost flips him off. But then he remembers his visit here has a purpose. He would rather not risk anything.
"No, Jungkook. I do not want to be your assistant," he emphasizes, causing his lips to curl into an amused grin. "But I know someone that might wanna."
"Hoseok," Jungkook sighs, "I don't want any of your–whoever that might be–in my company."
"What does that mean?" he gasps.
"Your choice of friends or people you know are... questionable."
"Okay, that's actually very rude!"
Jungkook shrugs. "It's true."
"How did you know I'm talking about my friend?"
"I didn't, I just called them that to keep it respectful."
"It's not one of my hook-ups!"
"Spit it out. I don't have time for this nonsense." Jungkook sighs, staring at the ceiling. Hoseok is really testing his patience. He's hungry and with a lot of work in front of him.
"My friend moved here recently and has been searching for a job. I thought you could give her a chance, I can totally vouch for her."
Jungkook blinks at the ceiling, staring down at his friend without having to move. "What this friend of yours accomplished?"
Hoseok's eyes widen and he almost stutters. "What do you–"
"Her skills? Education?"
Hoseok is the one who just blinks as Jungkook sits up straight with again, unimpressed look. "I'm not employing just anyone here, Hoseok. This is a successful company for a reason."
"Well–I don't know about any of that but I know she's hard-working and–"
"You don't know and you're here asking me to give her a job?"
"I'm asking you to give her a chance." Hoseok corrects.
"Hoseok, you're my friend–I...I don't hate you–" Hoseok glares at him. "But no."
"Jungkook!" he whines.
"I don't know this person and from the looks of it, you don't know either."
"Just because I don't know her entire resume doesn't mean she's a stranger. Just FYI–" He frowns, "But please. Just give her a chance. I need your help."
Jungkook lifts a brow.
"You know I never ask you for anything."
That one's true.
Whatever power Jungkook has in his young age – the age of twenty-eight – Hoseok has never asked him for anything. Let alone use him. He's the most valuable friend he has. Not that he would ever say it out loud. Not in usual situations anyway. Hoseok is aware of that.
"She's been trying to get a job ever since she came here. She lives in–"
"I don't care," he interrupts, scratching his forehead as he tries to soothe the wrinkles there that are caused by frowning. "She probably can't find a job because she's just not... good."
"That's not true," Hoseok quickly jumps to remark. "You know how hard it is to find a job nowadays."
It's silent for a few moments.
"Please."
"Don't." Jungkook stops him, closing his eyes.
"Just give her a chance."
He already curses himself mentally for this. Perhaps he feels a little embarrassed for Hoseok.
"Fine."
He cringes when he hears a loud squeal of excitement.
"Just one interview. That's all I can promise you." he informs him firmly.
"Thank you!" Hoseok sits up straight, his sneakers thumping against the floor.
"Now go, I've got to work."
He doesn't argue, right on his feet as he can't stop grinning at the annoyed man.
"Soyeon will give you further information." he mumbles under his breath.
"Great! Well, I would ask anyway."
Of course he would.
"Don't forget to eat."
"Okay, get out now." Jungkook mumbles quickly, ignoring the teasing smirk from his friend as he strides out of his office confidently.
Hoseok is at your place. If that can be called that.
You're only sure of that because one of the lights stopped working, the bulb burned out. Rather than having to deal with any additional expenses, because you're never too sure and it's better to be safe than sorry, you asked Hoseok if he could come today and change it.
Plus, you need someone to help you with the stress you know your job interview would bring you. And you were goddamn right.
However, that's not the only thing you're bringing with yourself.
Since you gave Hoseok the second card and code to your temporary home, you knew he would be there already. You told him to wait up for you, way before you had the opportunity to meet his friend.
That man can't be anyone's friend. You doubt it.
The moment you get your shoes off and meet Hoseok's sheepish grin, he has no time to react as you reach for one of the cushions and start hitting him repeatedly. He squeals as if his life depends on it, though no real damage is done as your frustration takes over.
"That. Was. Fucking. Awful!" You say with each hit, finally getting the cushion snatched from you as he tosses it back onto the couch behind you.
"What happened?"
Glaring at him, you see it in his eyes. The hidden glints of knowing, even the tiniest tint of apology.
"Why didn't you tell me he's fucking arrogant and rude?"
His cheeks heaten up as he sheepishly rubs the back of his neck. "He can be rough around the edges, but he's not that bad."
"No!" you yell, "He's even worse!"
"Okay, let's sit down and talk." he tries, giggling nervously as he leads you to sit down.
You do, huffing out as you cross your arms over your chest. The feeling of embarrassment and close to humiliation keeps coming back every time you think about the entire moment you spent in that building. You've never felt more like shit before. He made you question your abilities and skills, judged you by your resume within seconds. He made you feel like you're nothing.
Not mentioning he's not interested in hiring you at all. He made sure to let you know that.
"Y/N, come on..." Hoseok speaks after a moment, softly and sorry just as he looks.
"Why didn't you tell me? I came there and–" You don't bring yourself to say how hopeful you were when coming there, despite being nervous. "You promised me it's going to be okay." you add way quieter, embarrassed to admit it out loud.
It sounds childish but Hoseok was the one who sparked hope and confidence in you. He assured you everything is going to work out. Of course you knew it couldn't be all true. There is always a space for failure or something not going according to plan, but this? This is your worst experience in months. Definitely takes the cake for the worst experience here in Seoul.
"I'm sorry," You hear, his features softening as he squeezes your forearm. "I knew if i told you how he can be, you wouldn't go there. I didn't want you to miss this opportunity."
"What opportunity?" you scoff.
While you realize he wanted to help, what's the purpose of it if his friend isn't exactly one that wants to help?
"He made me feel stupid."
"No," Hoseok argues, earning a glare from you. He wasn't even there! How can he argue about that? "He's just very selective with his staff."
"Oh, trust me, I figured. I mean, he wasn't exactly secretive about that."
Hoseok nervously laughs and rubs your arms. "But besides that, how did it go?"
"I–" you stop, thinking for a moment. "I don't know if it was me or you, but somehow I convinced him to let me prove myself."
"Y/N, that's amazing!" Hoseok yells excitedly, receiving a pointed look from you.
"I mean... it's worth a shot," you mutter, "But I feel like I'm gonna get fired before stepping in there."
"Listen to me," Hoseok says, scooting closer. Straightening himself, he makes sure you see his persistent features and the seriousness behind them. "You're gonna rock it there. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Jungkook can be difficult and I can't promise he's going to be all sweet, but if you'll do your job well then everything's gonna be fine. Trust yourself."
"Hobi, I trusted myself and coming back from there, I feel like utter shit."
"Come on now..."
"No, you didn't see how he looked at me. He told me people that graduated from Harvard come there looking for a job. Do you get it? Harvard. Or a fucking Yale!"
"Yeah..." he mumbles, "I told you he's successful. So is his company."
"No shit."
Hoseok chuckles, "That doesn't change the fact that you're good. You'll get better."
Nibbling on your bottom lip, you feel panic arising at the thought of going back there. You don't have a choice though. You can't live here for any longer and you need a job desperately.
"You're the only one that thinks this. And sorry, but that's not enough."
What you mean is that it won't affect his friend's decision in any way. Hoseok is no help at the moment. He got you the job interview which of course has helped, and you will let him know that as soon as your panic fades away a bit. But from now on, it's just you.
You'll need to prove yourself.
To wipe that arrogant look from Jeon's face.
You were up for a challenge, but this one seems to be the biggest yet.
Hoseok laughs at your words, knowing very well what you mean. Trying to light up the mood, he pokes your side with his elbow. "I'll beat him up if he's gonna treat you wrong."
"Sorry but from the looks of it, it seems like you're the one who would get his ass beaten."
Snickering at Hoseok's loud gasp – the one you know its purpose is to lighten up the mood once again – you can admit that out loud. The arrogant prick has muscles on him. You could see it from behind that desk alone.
"I'm prepared to take the risks from you." he jokes, teasing you.
"Oh, shut up!"
He laughs loudly, the ringing sound causing your lips to twitch. All the amusement is gone as his face pops up in front of you again. So are you reminded of the negative experience you unfortunately went through not even an hour ago.
"No offense to your friend, but he's a fucking asshole." you spit, not even thinking of how Hoseok can feel about you cursing at his supposedly friend. You should've been more considerate but rather than being met with offended Hoseok, you hear his laugh again.
"Well, sorry to say this but you need this asshole."
The worst part of it is that he's absolutely right.
You made sure no disaster would happen from the beginning. Like for example, waking up late on your first day of work. Just to be safe, you set up around four alarms to make sure you won't be late.
Besides not eating anything from all the nerves, you've received an encouraging message from Hoseok who puts a lot of faith in you. At least someone does. You certainly stopped the moment you met Mr. Jeon.
Or Jungkook. Like Hoseok calls him.
It feels weird to put a proper name on him. First name, is what you mean. It's weird to even call him by it in your head. There's undeniable respect (or a fear) you have of him. Even by talking to him for a few minutes, it seems like he's going to pop up the moment you call him by his first name in your mind.
With an empty stomach, minus the glass of water you gulped down before leaving, you get on your way to Jeon Investments Inc. The ride in a cab is full of anxiety and no matter how many times you try to steady your breathing, you feel like you're on the verge of a panic attack. Even the poor driver seems to be concerned as he asks you if you're okay.
Turns out, after you read the contract once you found the courage, there might be a lot of things you're not prepared for. Minus all the professional terms and conditions you're supposed to comply with, you feel lost. Utterly lost. And fucked.
You've got many questions. Once you ask, you know you will come out as inexperienced and even dumb. Being an assistant is not just taking calls and dealing with emails. That much you understood after reading the ten pages of a very professionally and legally written contract.
There is so much expected from you and being truthfully honest, you're not sure if you can make it.
Curiosity got the best of you and after gulping down a whole glass of beer – let's ignore the fact you bought it to yourself even despite your financial state – you of course, googled your boss. Can you even call him that yet? Is he officially your boss? No contract has been signed. Mr. Jeon made sure of it.
There are many articles about Jeon Jungkook. Most of it is just boring and professional stuff. It contains the same information – and there are not that many to begin with – but from the looks of it, it seems like Mr. Jeon is one lucky fucker. Has been born into a wealthy family and like in the famous books and movies, has inherited the family company. The man is practically swallowed in money.
He's successful. And well known amongst business people. Surely, he's no stranger in this particular circle of people.
But at least this is different from all the books and money. Because even though he's successful and has many official photos from different events, he's no celebrity. His life is purely private and no one digs in it. Which is probably for the best for him. This man is practically mysterious.
You're reminded by your conversation with Hoseok after you calmed down after your breakdown.
"How did you even meet a guy like him?"
"Jungkook? Ah, I've known him since he was a kid. You could say we're a distant family."
"What?!" You screeched at the thought of it. And you have no idea why.
How did you find out about it only now?
"Well, my great aunt actually married Jungkook's mom's cousin?" He questioned almost unsurely as he frowned in thought before he nodded. "Yeah. It's a little mixed up and we're not really blood related but yeah."
Thinking about it now, it makes sense.
Where else would Hoseok meet someone like him? Without a doubt, he must've attended some private college and surely, all types of schools before that. God, he's definitely one of those people that were in a private daycare! You can only assume and you don't want to put any stereotypes on him, but based on what you know about him, he lives a different life than you and most people for sure.
Who owns millions worth company at the age of––How old is he?
That's something you forgot to ask Hoseok.
The cab ride is awfully fast. Which you should be glad for. You're ten minutes earlier which is definitely better than being late. Plus, it will take you some time to get to the top floor. Especially if you'll have to go through the same process with security like before.
You do.
The security makes you do the same routine like you had to go through when you first got here. It is their job and you fully understand that, though you're a little annoyed when they eye you as if you're carrying a gun underneath all your clothing. After all of that is done and you do have to inform your arrival at the front desk, you're finally allowed to go on the lift.
You're not even sure if you work at the same floor where Mr. Jeon is, but guess you will find out. Despite your inner nerves and anxiety crawling up your throat, you try to appear confident as if you're not ten seconds from a mental breakdown.
Your presence is luckily ignored, everyone seems to be on their way to work as most of them exchange greetings. Since you don't know anyone and you're not familiar with any of their faces, you remain silent unless you share eye contact with someone. You have no problem politely greeting anyone. It does put you a little at ease when most employees give you the tiniest tilt of a smile.
The floor that you're slightly familiar with is less empty than you remember it to be, but there are still a few people walking down the halls. Getting to the front desk, you wait up there when you find it empty. Not trying to get nervous because of it, you keep looking around. You definitely look out of place. No doubt there.
Someone gets out of the backroom and the female you're already familiar with, gets behind the desk. It doesn't take too long for her to notice you and when her eyes fall upon you, you make sure to greet her and explain why you are here.
You're not sure if she's informed of your purpose here but she nods regardless.
"Mr. Jeon is not expected to arrive for the next hour. But that doesn't concern you, at least not now. First, we have to give you an attire."
Oh, that's right.
Everyone has a certain dress code and since you haven't received any clothes, or instruction what to wear, you wore something work appropriate. Something similar you wore to the job interview.
"Come with me." she says with a little smile, motioning you to follow her as she leads you down the hall.
She stops, pulling out a card from her pocket as she attaches it to the scanner.
Opening one of the doors that is similar to the next dozen ones you've passed by, you walk inside. It's a small sized room, compared to the big halls and enormous office you were interviewed in. There's nothing special about it, though you wonder what this room is for. Besides a transparent circle shaped glass table and tall sized dressers, there's not much in here.
Still, the room is designed well and goes with the rest of the company's aesthetic. In the corner you notice a small kitchen cabinet. There is a coffee machine and a table next to the cabinet with two stools. It seems like a breakroom but you're not sure. It seems... small compared to what this company is.
The drawer being open is heard as the female that is yet to be introduced to you, asks your size. You answer her and watch in awe as she pulls out clothing.
"Do you prefer pants or a skirt?"
A little taken aback, you look at her and notice her wearing a skirt. Well, you did shave your legs. "Skirt." you respond before thinking it through.
"You can wear whatever is more comfortable to you. Mr. Jeon isn't too stern about women wearing skirts and it's completely up to us. Of course, you can change it whenever you want. You don't have to wear skirts all the time," she explains as she sets the pile of clothing that matches everyone's attire on the glass table.
"You can wear your set of clothes too, they don't have to be company's. Some employees prefer wearing this since it saves money. But you're free to buy and wear your own clothes as long as it meets our dress code. Nothing too revealing and in the dark colors, so black or dark blue,"
You try to give attention to every word she says and you desperately let too much information sink in. Her mouth just won't stop.
"The heels you've on are fine. That isn't provided by the company, though we do have some emergency options in the dresser there," She points at one of the dressers. "You buy your own heels, that is something the company gives you money for every two months. It's added as an extra in your paycheck."
Luxury.
"This room is not an official break room. That's somewhere else, I can take you there," She says when she glances at her watch. "This is mainly just an emergency room when you need to change clothes. It's almost like a storage room. But you can come here and make yourself coffee. I prefer to do that sometimes because it's close to my desk and it's less crowded. No one really comes in here. It's not used as much."
You nod as she glances around.
"The windows are tinted, so no one can see inside. So don't worry about the lack of curtains. You can change your clothes here, it's safe."
"Thank you."
"Very well then. I'll let you get changed. You can put your clothes back in that dresser in the corner and get them back when you clock off."
"Okay, thank you."
And with that, she spins on her heels and walks out of the room. She closes the door after her to give you some privacy. Not wasting any time, you quickly change your clothes and do everything based on what information she told you. The clothes fit and surprisingly, it's very comfortable as well.
Your hands caress the material of your skirt and without doubt, it's clearly expensive.
Adjusting your hair, you walk out of the room to find her waiting for you. Once she sees you, she wastes zero time and starts leading you elsewhere. You have a lot to catch on.
She briefly starts pointing at the countless doors, explaining what's behind them. As much as you listen to her and try to remember everything she's saying, there's no way you will remember all of it by the time she's done.
Passing through the glassed big room with a long table and dozens of chairs, she introduces it as one of the meeting rooms.
"It's the most used one. Big meetings and contracts are signed there."
There is also a big projector screen on one side of the wall with the greatest view of the city.
She points to restrooms, not wasting time in going in there as she reminds you there's not much time.
This girl is like a robot. She says everything fast and there's no hint of doubt or anything. You wonder how long it took her to learn everything. There really is no way someone is able to know all of this in a day. But rather than being met with any sign of empathy, she keeps showing you around and throwing new information on you from every side.
"As you might have noticed, I work at the front desk on this floor. We will mainly work together, but your job as an assistant is closer to Mr. Jeon. Whatever you will have to deal with and prepare, I will inform you about. It's your job to make sure it runs smoothly."
She says as you follow behind her, trying to match her fast and long strides.
Oh god, you can't do this. And you're not talking about walking fast in high heels.
"Now this," she says, close to her desk and across from Mr. Jeon's office, before she opens the door. "is your office."
You both walk inside. Immediately met with the luxurious interior, you stare at the beige and goldish furniture that despite the color, it all seems minimalistic and clean. The entire room smells nice, and is definitely cleaner thoroughly. There's a white desk and behind it is the entire wall of long shelves with binders sorted most likely alphabetically. Even the shelves are backlit with LED lights. Since the entire building is covered in windows, there is an amazing view on your right side as you stand in front of the desk.
"This will be your workplace. You will handle all calls, emails and everything of that sort here. Of course, you will be required to move around the building, so this place is mostly for you to handle the things where you need some peace and quiet."
"Wow," you manage to say. "This office is beautiful."
There are even nice plants in matching pots that make this place more alive.
"It sure is," she hums, "I don't think you will use it that much though."
You look at her a little confusingly. "Well, it's mainly for those calls and emails. You have tons of other work to do."
You don't get the courage to ask for more information. At least not now when you barely have enough time to blink.
"Follow me."
She leads you further down the hall, knowing every corner like the back of her hand as she greets passing by coworkers automatically. Some of them steal a curious look at you, but their prying eyes are long forgotten when your focus is elsewhere.
"Saja," The woman calls out, stopping between the huge door frame.
Across her shoulder, you notice a spacious room with multiple tables and stools around them. This has to be the break room she told you about before. The scent of morning coffee mixed with freshness hits your nose, the freshness that floats in the air through the entire building.
One of the employees turns around, her gaze falling on her colleague shortly after as she excuses herself and walks up to the two of you. You notice she looks at you for a short period, mainly keeping her focus on the woman in front of you.
"Could you please show–I'm sorry, what was your name again?" she asks, glancing across her shoulder as her apologetic eyes fall down on you.
Ignoring the pinch of embarrassment, your name fills the short silence that is shared between the three of you.
"You don't mind me calling you by your first name?" she assures.
"No, that's fine." you respond, hoping all of you can be at least friendly with each other. She did call the other woman by her first name.
"Great," she takes a breath as she turns back facing – was it Saja? "I need you to explain to Y/N what's expected from her, especially today. I showed her around, so I hope–" She glances back at you, "You slightly know your way around."
Saja nods, clearly knowing this beforehand because her reaction is not full of surprise. In fact, there's zero surprise.
"She's your responsibility right now," She reminds her and even though Saja nods, you see her brows slightly raised in a mere annoyance. "Don't forget, Mr. Jeon expects everything to run smoothly."
"Of course." she says.
The woman that has shown you around turns to you, her lips close to a soft smile but her mind seems to be elsewhere. Clearly she's rushing to go back to work, at least you assume that is the reason for her abruptness. When she glances at her watch, it confirms your suspicion.
"Well, good luck on your first day."
"Thanks–" You stop, giving her a questioning look when you realize you don't know her name. She hasn't introduced herself to you.
Whether the realization hits her at the lack of introduction on her side, she doesn't show it and offers you a simple answer.
"Soyeon."
"Thank you, Soyeon."
"Just listen to Saja here, she will explain the rest to you. And don't stress too much."
That's easier said than done.
"Any advice?" you ask, chuckling nervously as she gives you a sympathetic look.
"Don't mess up."
Your mouth falling open and a total despair dominating your features, you watch Soyeon wave at you before she scurries away. You swear your heart just dropped and the stress of not being able to do this comes up to you in a bigger intensity.
Though you seem panicked and not present, you do notice Saja's eyes scanning you from head to toe as she clears her throat. Looking at her, she motions you to join her in the room. Ignoring all eyes on you, you focus on her as she leads you toward the kitchen counter.
"Mr. Jeon comes at half past eight every morning. Occasionally an hour earlier, so you should always be prepared for that just in case,"
What are you supposed to do? Spread a red carpet for him?
"By the time he comes here, he needs to have his schedule ready for him. You also do that a day prior, sending him his schedule electronically. But you still need to have everything ready the day he comes in, so this means all papers and other details that he needs to check over or have it prepared for him."
You nod along with her explanation as if you've done this before.
"The assistant before you had that prepared for you, so you don't have to do it today. But it is expected of you to do that tomorrow and from now on,"
"Okay."
"Mr. Jeon doesn't like someone coming inside his office when he's not there. But as his assistant, he prefers all the documents to be on his desk, fully prepared and ready for him, when he gets there. That's where Soyeon comes, she's going to inform you Mr. Jeon entered his office and that's when you bring his morning coffee to him."
Is he a king or a boss?
Mr. Jeon seems like the biggest menace already.
"Are you listening to me?" she frowns.
"I am, it's just too much information and I'm trying to process it."
You're not met with an ounce of empathy as she scowls at you as if you've done something wrong. That leaves you a little bitter but you don't let it show. You simply just stare at her, a knowing glint in your eyes when you're clearly not scared by her little attitude. What did she expect? Was she I Know It All when it was her first day?
This is insane.
There's no way anyone that comes to work on their first day knows everything. Not to mention even if that person has experience in this field, every company is different. Every boss is different. Every boss requires something different.
"You better learn fast then. Mr. Jeon doesn't like slackers."
Frowning again, this time you can't fully hide it as you give her a look. Did she call you slacker just because you don't know everything? Which is absolutely fine because Hello, it's your first day here!
She glances at the wall to check the time on a big circled clock that is attached to the wall. Wow, even the clock looks fancy!
Oh shit, she's walking away. Quickly catching up to her, she starts showing you the coffee machine. Automatically, she prepares the cup and barely gives you any time to fully grasp what buttons she's pressing.
"Mr. Jeon should arrive any minute. Soyeon will let you know and you'll bring coffee to him. Along with the papers that are on your desk, I'll show you which ones."
"Won't the coffee turn cold?"
He's not here, he is supposed to arrive. You might not well Mr. Jeon well but he seems like the type to get annoyed when his coffee is cold. And judging by Saja's pause, he most likely is and your guess has been right.
"If he comes later, you'll just make him another one."
Mentally shaking your head at the ridiculously over some coffee, she motions for you to grab the cup as she ushers you out of the break room. You try not to spill it, matching her pace as she gets inside your now office in long strides as she opens the door fast and wide. You even passed Soyeon's reception desk but you were rushing to even notice her.
She tosses the stack of documents onto your paper. Ready to walk out, you stop her abruptly by quickly saying; "Thank you!"
She stops, barely giving you a glance across her shoulder as her light hair shines in the natural lightning. She styled it in a neat ponytail that makes her look super professional.
And with that, she leaves with no words.
She lets the door open, not even closing it behind her as you stare at the door frame where she was standing just seconds ago. Blinking and swallowing down the irritation, you place the steaming hot coffee on your desk. Careful not to spill it over the documents. That would be truly a horror scenario.
Sighing, you rub your forehead softly, trying not to rub off any make-up you put there. You tuck strands of hair behind your ears, cursing yourself for not putting it up.
The beeping sound comes from the desk, causing you to jump in surprise as you look around. It's coming from an office phone and you quickly rush to it. You stare at the multiple buttons and touch screen. Logically, you pick up the actual phone and put it to your ear.
Before your mouth opens, Soyeon's voice already reaches your ears.
"Mr. Jeon just entered his office. You have his coffee ready?"
Glancing at the steaming hot coffee, you answer. "Yes."
"Perfect," she sighs, almost in relief. "Oh, not sure if Saja told you but there's an iPad in one of the drawers in your desk. We all have one. That's going to be your best friend from now on."
"Oh, okay, thank you."
In fact, Saja did not tell you about it.
You've got so many questions about the stupid iPad. What's it for? Why do you need to use it? But before you can actually ask anything, Soyeon tells you one last thing before ending the call.
"You better get him the coffee now. Mr. Jeon doesn't like waiting."
Mr. Jeon can go fuck himself.
Still, you carefully grab the cup of coffee and the documents. Trying to balance it in both of your hands is no joke, but you somehow manage as you rush out of your office. Passing by Soyeon who's on the call, your eyes meet but there's no time for any sort of interaction besides that as you knock at Mr. Jeon's office door.
"Just get in, he knows it's you." Soyeon whisper yells at you, a hand covering the phone's microphone.
Aren't you supposed to knock? Fuck, you're going to fuck this up so badly.
You can barely open the heavy door, but again, you surprise yourself by managing to do that without any damage done. Being back in this office brings memories but there's no time to dwell on it, not when you have a job to do.
You see him.
The suit jacket being tossed over the couch that's pressed against the wall, right next to the massive windows. He stands tall, wearing a black button-up with slacks that match his suit jacket. You don't look too much, setting this down onto his desk just as he reaches it and sits behind it.
When you look at him, you notice the look he gives you.
A look of disbelief that you're really here. He definitely thought you would give up.
But rather than give him that satisfaction – and the fact you need this job – you send him a smile. "Good morning."
You're pleased with yourself. Maybe you caught him off guard by having everything prepared for him. Well, they said he needs these two things from you today and you've managed to do it. That sounds like a success, right?
"What is this?" he asks, ignoring your greeting like the arrogant prick he is.
He stares at the cup of coffee, annoyance overshadowing his entire features. And you thought he already looked annoyed.
"Your coffee?" you ask dumbly.
Confused of why he's even asking, you notice his jaw clenching before he looks away to take a deep breath. Breath to regain patience. One he doesn't seem to have.
"Is this a joke?"
Your eyes widen, a lump creating in your throat as you stare at his cold demeanor. "Pardon?"
"I don't drink macchiato."
How were you supposed to fucking know that?
"I'm sorry–I didn't–"
You didn't make it. You didn't know.
But he's not interested in your apology. Nor witnessing you being a stuttering mess.
"Black. No sugar." Is all he says through clenched teeth.
Is this a fucking coffee shop?
His eyes are on your hands as you carefully grab the failed coffee. You have a feeling as if he's going to attack you any second and even such a detail like him glaring at your hands seems intimidating.
Sighing, he ignores your presence as he pulls the documents you brought him closer, opening one of them.
With a clenched jaw, you walk out of his office in complete embarrassment and anger. It feels like you're going to cry and you surprise yourself that you already feel this way. This day could not be worse.
You've managed to already fail and fuck it up, right in front of Mr. Jeon.
Luckily, Soyeon is not at her desk when you pass by. Finding the right way to a break room, there are less people there than before. Everyone has gone to work.
"What are you doing?" Soyeon suddenly walks in, an iPad in her hands. "Please don't tell me you haven't brought Mr. Jeon his coffee. I saw you walking in there."
Biting the inside of your cheek, you mutter through clenched teeth. "Wasn't the coffee he wanted."
"You got his coffee wrong?" she shrieks as if it's the end of the world.
Preventing yourself from rolling your eyes at the dramatics, you rather explain it. "I wasn't the one who made it. Saja did without telling me what coffee he drinks."
Soyeon stares and you don't know what to think of her look. Does she think you're accusing her that this is her fault? Well, it sort of is but they're colleagues. You don't want to make enemies here. So you nervously chuckle and quickly add;
"She probably got it mixed up."
Soyeon walks closer, helping you to navigate your way with the machine as you silently thank her.
"She knows Mr. Jeon's coffee preference." Is all she says before she gives you a knowing look, walking away with a sympathetic scrunch of her brows.
As the coffee pours and the sound of it fills the silence, you stare at the city view.
She purposely gave you the wrong coffee.
Soyeon never specifically said Saja has set you up. She didn't directly hint at it and perhaps it's just been your rash judgment. Reminded again that this is only your first day here and you don't know anything or anyone, perhaps she made a mistake. That could be the case too. Though you feel bad for thinking the worst, which stems from the fact people are assholes, you focus on doing a good job from now on.
Not that the previous mistake was really your fault.
You're that kind of person who tries to set the record straight no matter what. So this bothers you even now, but Mr. Jeon definitely doesn't care about any of your explanations. The warning look he gives you when you bring him the right coffee shuts you up immediately.
Plus, it could all be just a mistake and you wouldn't want to make any accusations over a stupid coffee choice. You haven't graduated from Harvard as Mr. Jeon was so kind to remind you, but you're not dumb. You're not going to make enemies – nor you ever want to. But dealing with not so important things on your first day is not it. Even if your ego and tendency for justice is highly bruised.
When you're back in your office, you try to make sense of all the papers and documents. There's no one exactly guiding you for it. Turns out the iPad that has been given you shows you Mr. Jeon's schedule. It must've been done by the previous assistant. Everything is neat and in order. You can do that.
You're in the middle of reviewing the device, trying to see how things were previously done so you could do your best, when your phone rings again. You click on the touch screen, staring wide-eyed when it comes to life and Soyeon's voice fills the silence.
"Hey, Mr. Jeon has a meeting at ten. Your presence there is needed."
It's almost embarrassing how your stomach churns at that information – and especially at the thought of it. Being in a meeting full of wealthy men? What are you supposed to do there?
"May I ask why?" you ask – nervously – because you're not sure what you're supposed to do there.
You've read the contract. First of all, there is too much information for you to remember all of it. Accompanying Mr. Jeon to meetings among other things is one of them, that much you remember.
"You won't accompany him to all his meetings. This one's big, so you're mostly there to take additional notes and whatever Mr. Jeon tells you."
Is he going to tell you? Because it seems like he expects you to know everything right off the bat. Though you keep that snarky remark to yourself.
"You just need to be present and actually listen."
A few minutes later, after being navigated by Soyeon to the big meeting room she had shown you earlier, it turns out you were actually right. The room is filled with men wearing suits that scream rich and regardless of their clothing, you can tell they're important. Their age differs, it's a good mixture of young and elders. You do find some comfort when there are two other women there as well. Though, you have no idea what's their purpose or if they're one of the investors, the meeting happens after the official greeting.
They take turns. Setting up their presentations as they continue to speak about either theirs or someone else's business. You're not sure what you're supposed to take notes of. In fact, Mr. Jeon hasn't spoken to you since he successfully ignored your presence here.
He sits at the head of the long table, dark eyes settled on whoever is presenting, listening to them carefully. He has documents settled in front of him, which you soon figure out are the other investors' plans. Whatever they're presenting to him, he has in front of him on paper. You quickly note the nervousness that some men, older than Mr. Jeon for sure, show and truthfully, you don't blame them.
It feels weird to be seated behind the same table as them. You sit on the right side of Mr. Jeon. After a while, he leans back and makes himself more comfortable. Your attention is put on him, noticing he's been playing with a pen, twirling it between his long fingers. Are those rings? You quickly look away, cursing at yourself over and over again.
Well, it's no secret this arrogant fucker is hot. You haven't had the chance to properly... look at him. The dominance oozes out of him which makes him slightly intimidating. Or maybe it's a mixture of his stern and cold exterior.
You're not a fan of him. That much is clear but none of that is important. You don't need to be one. You just need this job and stupidly said, the money that comes with it. If having to put up with someone full of himself like Mr. Jeon, you will have to endure it. At least until you'll be able to find another job. Having an experience in this company would open many doors for you for sure.
Look at you.
Here you are thinking of this when no contract has been signed yet.
A notification pops on your iPad and you stare for a moment before looking around. Are you allowed to look? It's not your personal iPad, it's not like whatever there is is your personal stuff, it must be work related. Before the screen can darken again, you check it. It's a file you open, trying to look as discrete as you can. Everyone's listening to Mr. Choi (if you remember the name in his presentation well), so you quickly take a peek.
It's a file with everyone's name and the name of their business and presentation. Some of them are marked with a cross and others with a questioning mark. Frowning a little in confusion, you look around. Your breath hitches as soon as you find Mr. Jeon staring at you from your side.
His stare is cold as ever, his eyes not faltering as you realize. He's the one who has sent you this. You're not sure why you send him a soft nod, silently telling him that you understood.
No reaction comes from him and his attention is directed back to the presenting man.
It continues like this. As the man comes and goes to switch places at the presenting spot and in front of a huge screen, Mr. Jeon slowly sends you his decisions. It's the only communication between you.
As the meeting continues, you mostly take the notes for yourself as you separate the projects based on Mr. Jeon's previous marks. It's mostly to keep it more neat for you. You're not sure what you're supposed to do with it, but you'll find out from either Soyeon or Mr. Jeon himself. If not, you're just going to have to ask. You're not a fucking mind reader.
All presentations roughly take two hours, you swear your butt has no feeling from all the sitting. Your stomach is empty and it feels like you've lost your butt, it intensifies when you stand up. Mr. Jeon shakes his hand with the others, giving them one last greeting before he walks out of the room. You rush to catch up to him.
Your heels clink beside him as he's aware of your presence. He has to be. Yet he doesn't even spare you a glance as he stops at the elevator and clicks on the button. The elevator door opens immediately, a little surprised how hectic and fast everything seems, you take your place a little behind him.
"I want their presentations sorted out."
Oh my god.
Maybe this day is not going to be so bad after all.
With a little smugness spreading in your chest, you confidently state; "I've already done that. I'll send it to you."
And then he glances behind him, right back at you as he makes sure you see the lift on his brow. Does he not believe you? Is he impressed? It's so hard to make out what he's thinking. He's definitely a very hard person to be around with. Hoseok deserves a golden medal for putting up with him.
Irritated by his reaction, with swift taps to your screen, a sound of email being sent fills the elevator.
You plaster a fake smile at him, making sure he sees it as you softly say. "Already done."
His features harden as he turns around. "I'm staying in for lunch today."
"Okay?" you ask unsurely.
You hear him taking a breath, but you can't see his face since he's not facing you. But he's undoubtedly irritated by your unprofessional response or at all, by your presence.
"Have you not done any research?" he snarks.
Taken back for a second, you quickly shake yourself out of it. "I have not been informed about your lunch, no."
"Careful, Miss Y/L/N. You're already off to a bad start."
Before you can open your mouth and inform him that the bad start wasn't your fault at all, he doesn't seem to care as he stops you with his palm lifted in the air. His fingers slightly curled as his rings shine.
"This time make sure the coffee is black, or you'll be out of here faster than you can spell coffee."
Opening your mouth at the audacity, luckily for you he turns around right after as the elevator dings and informs you of the floor. He walks out and leaves, leaving you there with an open mouth and anger rising. Before the elevator door can close again, you quickly make it out of there and walk toward your office, hoping your walk doesn't come as aggressive as you feel.
Turns out Mr. Jeon also sends his preference for lunch and it's one of your duties to get it for him. Among all the information Soyeon has been able to give you, one of them is that you either have to get it ordered or get it personally. She explained it when you were on your way to get his freaking black coffee. It's dark just like his personality is.
You might not be an assistant before – you knew getting him things like this would be your responsibility and well, job as well. Mr. Jeon wants this and that. Mr. Jeon prefers it like this. Mr. Jeon doesn't like that.
It hasn't been even a full day of you working, yet you feel like you want to strangle that man. He has power, everything around you, in here, is his. He can afford getting this kind of service and you're paid for it.
Perhaps it's your own irritation that is simply caused by the mentioned man, but you feel more like his slave than an assistant.
Luckily, he chose Italian for his lunch today and Soyeon helped you in showing his favorite restaurant. How she knows all of that about him is beyond you. Anyway, they could get it delivered just in time, so it's kind of your lucky day. All you have to do is to get downstairs and out of the building to take it. Plus bring it straight to his office, of course.
"There are a few restaurants that take time to get it delivered, or sometimes they are so busy that they can't get it delivered in Mr. Jeon's scheduled lunch time. That's when you have to get it for him instead."
It's what she told you when she was clicking Mr. Jeon's order.
"There is also a car in the garage that's for this purpose. When you need to run some errands to be exact."
That freaked you out.
You're new. Not just here but in this city. You don't know its streets and even though you don't doubt the car has navigation, you're a little stressed about that. But can you show it? No. You don't need anyone doubting you.
Nerves are calmed down when you get your boss his lunch and everything runs smoothly. He gets his pasta and even though he barely acknowledges you, it's a success.
One of the things you always worried about when coming to a new job is being left out. Being in a new collective is never easy and it can be nerve wrecking for obvious reasons. So when Soyeon suggests you join her for lunch, you relax and happily agree.
It becomes your chance to meet – as you could say – your colleagues. They're welcoming and curious, asking you how you ended up in the city. For a moment it seems like you're a new attraction and despite all the attention on you, you prefer they engage you in their conversation. Even though you're the main topic of it.
Saja is there as well. You still don't know what to think of the whole coffee situation, but she seems at ease and not looking as if she was aware of her mistake.
"So, how do you like it here, newbie?" Max, the tallish dark haired guy with sharp eyes and prominent features asks.
"It's her first day." One of the women whose name you can't remember points out.
Max gives her a look, "So? She already feels about it somehow, right?"
He looks at you, and so do the rest of them as you're just trying to enjoy your beef broth. "It's been slightly stressful, but it's my first day. So I'm just trying to remember everything."
"Honestly, we all have been through that. First days are never easy." The woman speaks again as Soyeon shrugs while Saja reapplies her lip tint.
"Ah, the pressure to not fuck up is tough, right?" Max complains as if he's the one that's been through the most stressful day. Well, he might have. You never know.
"Max." Soyeon warns him.
"What? We're not in the company." He rolls his eyes which amuses you as Soyeon glares at his audacity to roll his eyes at her.
"I can't imagine being Mr. Jeon's assistant. The pressure must be a lot." The woman says again, her short hair barely reaching the top of her shoulders as she pouts slightly.
"What are you talking about? Mr. Jeon is a great boss." Saja says, twisting the lip tint close as she puts it into her purse.
"I never said he's not great," But you can. While she remarks at Saja to correct her, she simply shrugs. "I just mean the pressure is even bigger considering his assistant works with him the most."
"I could do it any day." Saja says confidently.
Your and Max's eyes meet for a brief moment, his lips twitch slightly but he seems to not react much. You're slightly curious about his reaction, though you act like you haven't seen it as you continue enjoying your soup.
"Good luck to you, really," The woman says, "Have you managed to mess something up?"
You swallow down the broth, straightening yourself as you clear your throat. They all stare at you expectedly, the table quieting down. Oh god. "I, ah, I mean is nothing big, at least I think."
They stare even more and you mentally roll your eyes before muttering under his breath.
"I got him the wrong coffee."
Soyeon turns her head at you, staring and for a moment you think she's silently scolding you. Not that you care, they can all fuck off. You've had a rough day and it hasn't even ended. While the woman stares at you in empathy, Max goes back to eating.
"I mean it's not that bad." she adds, voicing her empathy.
"Was he mad?" Max asks.
"Well," you hesitate, cocking your head to the side. "He wasn't happy for sure."
"Oh poor you." The woman whines as if you're destined for death.
And that's when you glance at Saja. She stares and that's when you know she realizes. You're silent, not really sure if you want to throw her under the bus. It's also a great opportunity to see how she's going to react. She clearly saw your look. It's a silent communication between you.
She clears her throat, "Oh? Was that the wrong one?"
"Yeah." you deadpan.
"Sorry about that." Is all she says as the conversation drifts to a different topic. You enjoy your meal, finally getting some food into your empty stomach.
After you're back from lunch break, you get back into sinking as much information as you can on your own. Which means – exploring the new device that has been given to you, along with basic information about Mr. Jeon's meetings, schedule and even the emails he has sent. For a certain time being, you feel utterly lost. Not that's not any news.
You try to not let yourself lose in the craziness and hecticness this company seems to be holding. Everyone seems to work automatically, not mentioning they're synchronized like the greatest machine there could exist. Except, they're all human and perhaps they forget you're one too. Or maybe they just expect you to know everything and jump into this work. Is it possible?
Between the chunks of time you seem to have, you doubt yourself and your abilities. It's not the actual work you doubt. It's the fact that everyone and everything seems to run smoothly and fast, while you're left in your own chaos in the tallest and biggest building on this street.
Though, you're not as useless as your doubts and anxiety might've made you feel. You get a hang of Mr. Jeon's schedule and work plan. At least most of it.
This man is busy. Not the usual busy.
He has meetings every day. It doesn't matter whether they're long or short, it takes most of his time. There is a bunch of material and stuff that needs to be prepared for him – every day – and he has to get through it all.
No wonder the man is so bitter.
With so much work on his shoulders, you would fuck the money and end this business.
Perhaps, that's why you're not the millionaire here.
Chuckling at your ridiculous thoughts, you're in the middle of checking the mailbox when the phone rings. Recognizing the four code number, you realize it's Soyeon and you already brace yourself for whatever dumb requests might Mr. Jeon has this time.
"There is Mr. Kang on the line, he wants to schedule a meeting."
"Okay–"
Before you can ask her anything quickly, there's a beep sound before a male's voice resounds in the speaker. Greeting him politely, the call runs smoothly as Mr. Kang seems to be very easy going and helps you navigate yourself even without him knowing.
You check Mr. Jeon's schedule, noticing Mr. Kang is already one of his partners and it turns out, Mr. Jeon has invested a lot of money into his entertainment business. As he tells you and requests, your boss' presence is needed and it's not a meeting that could be done directly in the company. That's why you choose the day where his schedule is not as crazy.
You're not sure if you've scheduled it right but Mr. Kang seems to be pleased either way. The call ends shortly after and you're left in silence. Leaning back in your chair, you sigh in relief.
That wasn't so bad.
With upcoming calls, there are numbers straight up calling you but thanks to the call with Mr. Kang, you already know what to expect. You schedule a few meetings here and there, making sure you make reminders for Mr. Jeon. Some of them had to be added or pushed forward. You're not sure if you're doing well, but you're going with your intention. You'll soon find out anyway.
Surprisingly, the rest of the days goes like this and your brain is focused on doing the job, rather than stressing over everything. It keeps you pleasantly busy, or perhaps it's because there's no one that brags in here and pours hundreds of new information on you.
You barely see your boss. He's mostly locked in his office, preferably not wanting to be disturbed – something you quickly pick on. Or maybe it's your assumption because how else would you know? You've been locked in your office (not literally) and doing (hopefully) your job.
Though, he asks you to bring him one of the old contracts between one of his partners. You search for it, but luckily the previous assistant kept things neat. Therefore, you haven't spent too long searching for it and probably testing Mr. Jeon's patience.
When you come into his office, after announcing yourself of course with a gentle knock, he taps into his laptop barely giving you any sort of gaze. You're used to it by now. Even though he seems to be busy, you still mentally roll your eyes at the lack of... respect? Acknowledgement? He surely could be more kind if he wanted to.
As you place the contract onto his desk, informing him of it even though he knows, you spin on your heels to get back to the safety and comfort of your office.
"Wait," he says as if it physically pains him to even talk to you. Or maybe it's just the gruff of his voice and the depth in it. You're surely assuming a lot of things.
Turning around and trying to keep your facial expression polite, you give him a questioning look. One he finally sees when he finally decides to spare you a glance.
"I need you to reschedule the meeting with Mr. Kang. I already have something planned there."
Frowning in confusion, you try to think back of his schedule you've seen dozens of times by now. Have you made a mistake? You're sure his day was mostly free, in terms of nothing big scheduled and planned.
Or there's a chance he made a mistake? You did send him his schedule though. He must've approved when he had no objections. Until now.
"Your schedule was free on that day, sir." you inform him, the tone hesitant as if you already suspect he has made a mistake. You're still wary about it though.
He stops typing, his eyes flickering back to your figure for a split second that has your stomach clenched in discomfort. This is it. You're either getting scolded or fired. The first option seems more pleasant.
"I've got a private schedule." he remarks with the same stoic expression you've seen a handful of times. Does this man have any emotions? Because you're seriously doubting it.
Oh well. You couldn't have known he has a private schedule. Shouldn't you know about these kinds of things?
"Oh, sorry. I will reschedule the meeting right away." you say, swallowing down your pride and the need to voice your thoughts.
Of course, you know you can't speak freely because this is your freaking boss. He's cold and demands professionalism. It wouldn't be right of you to tell him that you didn't in fact know about his private schedule. Because there is no way you would know.
And perhaps there might be a little luck in all of this. Maybe he clearly sees the distress on your face as he rolls his shoulders before opening his mouth.
"I wanted to add it and send it to you after reviewing my schedule." he informs.
You both stare at each other for a moment, while you're processing the fact he just indirectly told you it's not your fault. He knows you wouldn't know.
"Just make sure the meeting is rescheduled," he mutters, eyes focused on the screen of his laptop again. "You may leave."
Thank you, your Highness.
You leave for real this time. With a tiny feeling of accomplishment in your heart.
Mr. Kang – or what you assume his assistant to be exact – has shown no problem in rescheduling the meeting. You were slightly worried he wouldn't be pleased but after his assistant checked with him, he didn't seem to mind at all.
The sun is setting down and the view from your office is worth every second. You even steal a quick photo of it before you return back to work.
This room is quite isolated but even the little sounds you could've heard throughout the day, just the ones that let you know this place is active and busy, have subtly faded away. The company is less hectic and everyone's probably on their way home. You won't lie, you've checked time and according to a contract that was given to you, you should've clocked off already.
But – you had a few emails to sort out along with your own personal research of Mr. Jeon's working ethic and schedule. You understand things more now, you studying and trying to get a hang of it certainly helped.
You're not a coffee drinker but you've made yourself one after stealing five minutes, to get yourself one in the break room. The cup is now empty, sitting on your desk as you've left the door ajar. You have one more email to read before you pack it up. Even Soyeon is not at her desk and you assume she already left home.
You're in the middle of staring into the screen, your eyes slightly aching as your door is suddenly pushed open. The sound is loud enough to catch your attention, even if it wasn't for your peripheral vision.
You stare wide-eyed at Mr. Jeon, glancing around as if he's checking to see the room intact. Once he finds nothing suspicious or worth his attention, his gaze falls down on you.
"What are you doing here?"
Somehow that question is invading, yet it's simple and said with a cold tone.
Opening your mouth, you try to find the right words as he glances at the surely expensive watch hugging his wrist. Not mentioning it all matches with his dark suit.
"You were supposed to leave an hour ago."
"I wasn't sure–"
"You didn't read the contract?" he cuts you off, frowning. "It clearly states how long your usual working days are."
In fact, you read it. Along with the information that there is something called a basic shift and additional schedule. It consists of special events, occasions when you're needed outside of the company and your usual working time. So far, nobody has really talked about it yet and it's something you need to know about more.
"I wasn't sure–" you continue, louder or at least loud enough to catch his attention and let him know he interrupted you. The way his face twists into irritation is not something you should play with.
But His Highness is probably not aware that interrupting is considered as impolite.
"--I could leave just like that since it's my first day. Actually, I was planning to finish an email before leaving."
"You're better here when you're well rested each day. I don't need an employee who works overtime because they can't finish their work on time."
The jab is there, loud and clear, one you should've been prepared for. Of course he's going to give you an attitude about this.
"Didn't Miss Kim tell you when you're supposed to finish?"
You have no idea who Miss Kim is, it's either Saja or Soyeon. But one thing you know, none of them let you know nothing.
"In fact, no she didn't." you inform him with a pointed look, watching him narrow his eyes at you.
Whatever he's thinking, he keeps it to himself. "Pack your things and leave."
He goes to turn around and leave, your panic getting the best of you as you quickly jump to your feet. "And come back tomorrow?"
His steps halt to a complete stop as he glances across his shoulder.
"You said you would give me a chance."
"And I'm keeping my word, Miss Y/L/N."
Pressing your lips together, your fingers leaning against your desk as you try to prevent them from shaking.
"I want all the documents on my desk before eight tomorrow. And don't mess up my coffee."
And he's out of the room, leaving you with your mouth open and eyes widened. You slowly blink, realizing hitting you slowly and surely as your lips stretch into a wide smile.
You're expected here tomorrow. He didn't fire you.
Yet.
Your legs and walk flow in a confidence you were definitely lacking the day before. Even though this job seems like something where you don't know what to expect every day, you're more content with yourself by your yesterday's performance rather than disappointed and upset about it.
Though, there is still a slight fear of what's awaiting for you creeping around the corner. But you don't let it ruin your morning. Now when the sun starts to peek in, the morning's fresh air naturally lifts your mood.
Maybe it's not just the fear that could potentially make you anxious. You also have a huge respect for this job. Not only because you need it, but you also want to do your best. While you truly admit you wouldn't be able to work there without Hoseok's help, you'll try to prove you deserve to have a place there.
Mr. Jeon would never even let you enter the building if Hoseok wouldn't persuade him to give you a chance. Figuratively speaking. Mr. Jeon isn't probably the person that deals with employing people from the start. They have to go through different check-ups and rounds until they get a chance to see the boss himself. His word is final though. You don't doubt he's included in all those decisions, but you can't imagine him dealing with every single interested party when it comes to new job positions.
You truly appreciate Hoseok's help. But you can't help but feel slightly embarrassed that he had to put effort in persuading his friend. You still have Mr. Jeon's face right in front of you. That one look that reminds you why you're there in the first place.
Your ego has to go. At least you have to push it to a certain level, so you won't get too discouraged. Again, you need this job and the money it offers. This is the only reason why you're walking inside the building, blending in with people you would never truly blend in. At least you don't believe that.
You're wearing the clothes Soyeon gave you. It's safe to say it's one of the reasons why you look like you're one of them. Well, you are for now. You can only hope you will when you hopefully sign the contract.
A card is given you at the reception, the kind woman informing you of its use as you simply just have to scan for entry. Not literally. It's just to log in your information to the database of when you're arriving and leaving. Everyone has one.
Glad for this new information, you scan the card in a nearby scanner before waiting for the elevator. You put it into the small and very inconspicuous pocket in your skirt. One thing you've got to say about the attire, is that it makes you confident. You already feel successful while wearing it, which is ridiculous and definitely sounds like it, but it feels like an honor to represent this company. Even on your way here, you noticed a few interested gazes aimed at you.
The material feels expensive, almost forbidden to wear in fear you would stain it somehow. Coming inside here again, you're a newbie regardless of how you feel outside of this tall and massive building.
As you come up to your floor, greeting who you could call some of your colleagues (despite there's no way you'll get familiar with all of them) Soyeon is not present at her front desk but you're guessing she must be somewhere around. Who you do find and spot coming out one of the rooms is Max. You halt a little, surprised by his sudden presence as he seems equally perplexed to see you. But the look is quickly wiped away as he shoots you a wide and friendly smile.
"Y/N, so you didn't give up." He tries to joke, clearly hinting at the fact that yes, you're still here. Even though you're not sure why he would think you wouldn't. God knows what they think of you or what information they have about you.
Unless Mr. Jeon is keen to gossip and open with his employees, there shouldn't be too much stuff that could reach their ears.
"No, not yet." You settle on a faint grin, keeping the joke afloat.
"I do like you, so I really hope you stick around."
"Oh, was that a compliment?" you laugh. He definitely knows how to make someone nervous.
He opens his mouth, a grin still attached to his lips but before he could make you even more assured than he already is (which is a total sarcasm on your part), someone comes out of the break room, interrupting the moment.
"Are you done flirting, Maximilian?" Saja, wearing the same attire as you, hair in a perfect sleek low bun, doesn't bother to show a hint of smile. "Our policy says there are no workplace relationships allowed." She reminds him, almost annoyingly which leaves you totally dumbfounded.
Glancing at Max, he seems just as dumbfounded because first of all, where's the flirting? Sure, Max is a little on the flirty side but you assume that's a part of his personality. Who knows, but still, such a bold assumption is not exactly appropriate.
But Max doesn't falter, he doesn't look embarrassed but the way he looks to his side where Saja's standing, he looks her up and down, almost in a bitter way.
"Is there a reason why you interrupted our flirting?" he asks instead, causing you to almost choke on your spit as you clear your throat and fail to hide the awkwardness you're currently and undoubtedly feeling.
She chuckles, not buying his attitude. "I need her to show her stuff. So please, take it somewhere else and preferably to someone else. But make sure Mr. Jeon doesn't know about it."
"You and your threats."
"The company's policy. Not threats." She corrects.
Are you interrupting something?
Max turns to you, rolling his eyes. "You know, friendliness is not against our policy."
"Explain it to Mr. Jeon, once he's the one who catches you."
"Catches doing exactly what? Talking to my new colleague? Please."
You purse your lips, shifting weight on your feet. This is really awkward.
"Max," she says his name, laughing almost bitterly as she shakes his head as if to call out his bullshit. He doesn't move though, lifting his brow. "I'm just informing you."
"I don't need you informing me. I'm very much familiar with our policy. Now, Y/N, it was lovely talking to you and I do hope we will talk in the future, preferably not getting caught by someone." he teases, grinning at you as your cheeks heathen up as you send him an unsure grin.
You murmur something in return, not even sure what comes out of your mouth as he shoots you one last smile before walking away. Saja stands there, raising her brow at you almost as if it's your turn to get scolded.
"I wasn't lying. Mr. Jeon does not allow any relationships. I'm sure it's in your contract."
The one that isn't signed yet though. You keep that to yourself.
First of all, you didn't even think about Max that way. Not unless she made it seem as if it's something bigger than it really was. Not aware of her true intentions, you don't even try thinking of it because it's pointless.
"Is there a reason why?" you ask instead, her brows shooting up in a silent surprise at your question instead.
"I'm pretty sure it's because it could potentially ruin the progress of working. Just measure to avoid any misunderstandings and problems. Most companies do that. At least the ones I worked at did."
"Max seems like a friendly person. I don't think he was flirting."
A little annoyed as she seems to look, perhaps it's the still ongoing topic that annoys her, she stays silent for a moment. You don't give her the time to respond though.
"It was nothing but a friendly conversation. Nothing to suspect or worry about."
The look on her face is worth your slightly passive-aggressive reaction as a grin threatens to make it to your lips. "Well, I advise you that."
"Thank you, I will take it to heart." you promise her, almost cackling when her expression drops and it turns more serious.
"Let's go to the office. I need to explain a few things before Mr. Jeon arrives." she grits through her teeth.
Despite the not so friendly exchange, a smile remains on your face as you slowly follow her to your office with slightly more confident steps.
During the ten minutes that are spent in the pleasant interior of your office, you deduce Saja is more informative and helpful than she was yesterday. Regardless of how quickly words spill out of her mouth to the point you think you might get a whiplash (again), you're trying to sink every information she has for you. She even made a few notes, point by point, that consists of basic information you'll need.
You appreciate the work she put into that, or that she took the time to write all of that, regardless of its length. With that being said and sent to your mail, she leaves you to do your job since the time is ticking and Mr. Jeon will be here any minute.
As explained and not forgotten, you make sure the cup in your hold and its content is the right one. Despite your boss' words of how he wants his employees well rested (though you're not sure if that's possible due to the amount of stress and work), you have barely slept well. Though, you hope the make-up you're wearing hides that tiny secret well.
You don't dare to judge. Everyone here seems to be working well, perhaps they don't experience as much stress like you do – obviously.
Coming inside his office after announcing yourself of course, you're not shocked at the lack of eye-contact and attention as you settle the cup down.
"I hope it's the right one." he says, something in his tone that you can't quite point out. Did he just make a joke? As many things here and in life generally, you don't dare to say and be sure. You don't know him and his personality is something you're still trying to figure out.
It's that moment and a few seconds of lingering silence that eventually causes him to pry his dark brown eyes off the laptop's screen, setting those distant and dark orbs on you. It's the clear quirk of his brow that brings you back into reality.
"Of course it is." It's funny how quickly you say it, with urgency as if you didn't get it wrong only yesterday. To your defense, it wasn't exactly your fault. Actually, it wasn't your fault at all. Saja made it and you just brought it to him.
It still bothers you that you're the one who messed up in his eyes. Or in anyone's for that matter. He watches you for a second, enough to make you nervous while you're inches from his desk and well, him. He does radiate dominance and coldness. It doesn't make sense that Hoseok is friends with him. He's a complete opposite.
As much as you're curious about the man in front of you, you prefer not to ask your friend too much about him and his life. One, it shouldn't interest you enough to want to know it. Second, Hoseok is a very good friend with him and not only that, they're some distant family. While Hoseok is your friend and the closest person you have in the country, he's not your best friend that could potentially spill you anything.
In other words, it wouldn't be exactly wise to try and pry. After all, your curiosity should go aside because this is your job. You shouldn't play with fire or dig into this and him. You won't risk that.
"I had your documents and papers prepared before you came in,"
Stupid. You inform him of something he clearly saw when he came in here.
"I hope everything's right."
"You hope?" he questions his brow in the same position that has been questioning you.
He leans back against his chair, elbow resting on the arm handle as he brushes his fingers over his chest. He doesn't pry his eyes off you.
"You really want this job, right?"
You open your mouth and give him a look, once you can't even define yourself but obviously almost spills out of it. He notices it, he surely does because the little twitch the corner of his mouth makes is enough proof of it.
"I want to do my job right, sir. I'm still new and I'm learning." you answer him, diplomatically with a hint of honesty and roughness that definitely doesn't go unnoticed by him.
Whatever argument he would have prepared, he decides to keep his mouth shut and just watches you with almost piqued interest. Or he's deep in thoughts, like you said, you can't quite figure him out.
"Learning is fine, but I hope you're aware you have to be quick at it. We don't have time for any slackers or slowness."
Well, damn. What encouraging words.
"I'm not a slacker and I hope I'm not slow either."
If he knew you even dreamed about this job, your first day haunting you even in your sleep.
"You do a lot of hoping."
"Sometimes it's the only thing we can do."
He stays silent for a moment, "I could argue with that," he protests but he says it with no remorse or anything negative. Just merrily points out. "I could also give you a few encouraging words, but I'm not sure what help would that make."
It would certainly make you not want to shit your pants in his presence, but you don't tell him that.
You're not here long enough, but you can't imagine him being all sweet and encouraging. It just doesn't suit him at the moment. You're aware of your judgment and assuming, so you stop and straighten yourself more.
"I need to see results, not give out hope."
That's a bit cold, but you offer him a short nod.
"Got it."
"Alright," he sighs, straightening himself that he's no longer in his leaned back comfortable position. "I need you to get a car ready for today's lunch. I have a meeting at that time and you're coming with me."
You nod, hiding your shock and maybe fear? Who knows.
"Any restaurant preference?"
"Italian. The one in the Four Seasons Hotel. Call them and reserve us a table. Just mention the name Jeon and they should confirm it."
"Got it, sir. I'll call them right away."
He nods, scooting closer to his desk, dismissing you with no other words needed.
Turns out, he has a driver for special occasions. Not sure if lunch with a business partner is a special occasion, but this time you meet Mr. Jeon in an underground garage. Not having the guts to ask if you're late, you keep your mouth shut and the two of you get inside the car.
You're sure you're not late, you were informed about the specific time when you delivered him the news of the successful reservation. Soyeon, whom you met during the day, has given you some details of how usually these meetings work and how you should prepare. Turns out, you're there to assist Mr. Jeon – schedule any possible future meetings and give him information about his schedule.
It's understandable that a man with so much work on his shoulders can't remember every single thing, just as much as he can't manage the little details. That's why he has an assistant, that's why you're going.
The reason for your presence there is no secret to you, and you knew that without Soyeon telling you. Still, you appreciate her trying to help.
The drive there is spent in silence, a little awkward you would say. One of Mr. Jeon's driver is an older man. Not too old though, maybe old enough to be your father but he seems nice and polite. You can't exactly tell when all you exchanged were greetings before you joined your boss in the backseat.
You also can't say it's the most comfortable ride. You mean... Mr. Jeon is sitting right next to you, even though there's a little space between you – it's still the closest you've been to him so far.
Man with such distance he seems to radiate, it feels odd to be so close to. He's a stranger, someone who literally has your destiny in the palm of his hands. Big hands at that.
Something you've noticed before but is clear now as well. You're purely judging the way his phone looks small in his hold. You don't dare to make it visible that you're silently side-eyeing the man. He's not exactly the type to break the awkward silence, but he seems to be too engrossed in his phone to maybe even notice. Or care.
The silent radio music is the only thing that prevents complete silence. And you find yourself staring from the window, your purse clutched to your side with the needed iPad in it.
It's when a rustling sound comes from the side, catching your attention as you watch Mr. Jeon tucks his phone back into his slacks pocket checking his surroundings out of the window.
"Mr. Liang owns an agency that represents people who would potentially want business investors to invest in them." Mr. Jeon suddenly says, breaking the silence with his smooth but deep voice.
The moment you both share a look, which is just simply looking into each other's eyes, you almost panic and look away. You hold the stare though, not wanting to get intimidated by the man's eyes or aura. He seems clueless about that, more notes the slight surprise or confusion on your face.
"It's not important information but you can't go there and be completely clueless." he explains, causing you to nod in understatement.
"I thought most business partners come straight to you." Meaning to his company and through their employees, they got to the boss – Mr. Jeon.
You're not ashamed to have a question, a meer curiosity coming to the surface. Mr. Jeon doesn't look bothered, which is a good sign.
"They do. But most people don't have the resources to do so. We're not a company you can just easily approach. We're talking about millions here, not a few bucks. So owners of agencies like Mr. Liang, they take care of all the important stuff. They take a share from the potential success, that is if I decide to invest in whatever they come up with."
"But they still pay for it, right? They have to be able to allow an agency to represent them."
"Of course. Nothing's for free, Miss Y/L/N," he answers, "If it's a beginner whose business is new, they usually take loans. They still need to pay."
You know how frustrating it feels not to have enough money to be able to go after your dreams. It's a sad reality. People have to take a risk to be able to go after them, most of the time to get into debts.
It's surely not something Mr. Jeon has ever gone through. You don't judge him. He had the luck to be born into a rich family, which doesn't always have to be positive. You're just comparing the two different worlds. Regardless of that and anything that's obvious, Mr. Jeon was born with a silver spoon in his mouth.
You wonder if he can even empathize with the struggles these people, or any ordinary mortal is going through. Does he even realize how tough it is for some people? In a way, he's helping them by investing his money into their business but still. It's not for free. You've seen the numbers. He has a good share after that as well.
After all, he wouldn't invest if it caused him to lose the money. He needs a profit off the things he invests his money into. And from the looks of it, he's doing a fucking amazing job at it.
You arrive to the Four Seasons Hotel shortly after, Mr. Jeon dismisses his driver's attempt of opening the door for him. It's a little detail but you notice it nevertheless, focusing on yourself instead and trying not to trip in your heels.
Mr. Liang is already inside by the time you get greeted by the lovely staff. Their swift greetings aimed at the man beside you prove he is a regular here. That much was clear to you when he said to mention his name when you were about to make the reservation.
Just like the most business partners you had a chance to see, Mr. Liang is older than your boss for sure. He's in his mid fifties for sure, but his appearance screams important and business. You're purely judging it by his suit and overall vibe. For his age, Mr. Liang definitely takes good care of himself.
He's either surprised Mr. Jeon hasn't come alone or because he sees a new face. But judging from the information you've received, you would say it's the second option. You're right because seconds after and after the two men bow at each other, he looks at you.
"New assistant?" he questions with a smile, outstretching his hand for you to shake.
You politely take it, bowing to him. Mr. Jeon watches the interaction, sitting down as he adjusts his suit. "We'll see."
Is all he says, your frown wanting to come to the surface but you surpass it. It's awkward and perhaps quite embarrassing to hear him saying that in front of a stranger. Mr. Liang seems to be a little taken back, but for whatever reason (or his own sake) he does not ask any further questions.
They start chit-chatting when menu orders are given to you. You stay quiet, pulling out the iPad from your purse to prepare. Drinks are ordered and you stick to the soda, even though it's nothing like you. It's not like you should care about the bill, one of those two surely pays but still. It's a safe choice.
"I'll come back to take your meal order." The waiter says, bowing to everyone at the table before he retrieves back.
The man starts picking their food, silently flicking through the menu. "Order something too."
Mr. Jeon speaks beside you, not lifting up his gaze as he still scans the item in his hands.
"This should be your lunch break, Miss Y/L/N," he reminds you.
You notice Mr. Liang lifts his eyes to watch you two but his lips stay sealed shut.
"So order something and eat."
Well, how were you supposed to know that? At least he informed you and spared you the embarrassment of having to spend this meeting with an almost empty stomach. It's a bare minimum but regardless of that, this is still work. You're working during your lunch break. So it is touching that he wants you to eat and not starve.
That would be a really asshole move, considering they're about to have lunch during this.
"Okay." you almost whisper, looking at Mr. Liang as you send him a tiny smile. He reciprocates it and luckily, gives you no attention.
After you order the food, the two business men go straight to work. You assistate, jumping in whenever you're needed and after tasting delicious Italian food, you feel better about the entire meeting. Everything runs smoothly and even though it's hard to detect any positive emotions on Mr. Jeon's face, he seems to be pleased enough with the outcome.
Surely, you can't be a good judge of this, but considering this is your second day properly working in this company, you're proud of yourself because you knew everything. You haven't done anything ridiculously hard, mainly gave information of Mr. Jeon's schedule and did research when he asked you to, but still. You're proud of yourself.
There was not a moment where you were lost and that's a win. Especially in the presence of the boss himself.
When you get back, Mr. Jeon retrieves back to his office, informing you he doesn't want to be disturbed and all calls should be handled by you or anyone else. You nod at that, bowing at him one last time before you separate your ways.
"How was it going?" Soyeon asks once she spots you walking by her desk, her eyes sparking with hidden interest and curiosity.
How was it going? You ask yourself. Releasing the breath, a content smile makes it up on your face. "It went actually well."
Soyeon's brows lift up as if she expected something else, though it's quickly wiped away as she gives you a cheerful smile and thumbs up.
You're ready to walk away but you halt in your steps. "Mr. Jeon does not want to be disturbed." you inform her.
The entire moment is professional, bringing something joyful to the hopeless situation you're in. You're merely informative, making sure Mr. Jeon's orders don't go ignored. Soyeon nods, watching you the entire time you walk to your office.
You sit in your chair, leaning back as you stare at the ceiling, giggling to yourself. The joyful moment doesn't last long though, the phone ringing loudly brings you back to reality and reminds you that nothing is won yet.
But it's on a good path and that's exactly what you let remind yourself for the rest of the day.
"Is your boss hot?"
The second day at your work has ended successfully and so far, Mr. Jeon hasn't come to find you and deliver bad news. That's enough to celebrate and perhaps open a bottle of wine to celebrate, but you simply cannot. You can't risk a headache or potential hangover.
Since living overseas can be lonely and the last thing you want is to bother Hoseok. He has his own job and can't hang out with you whenever you feel like it. Therefore, you didn't consider inviting him over because there's no need to.
And FaceTiming with your older sister is just enough. It's what you used to do most of the time when you were back home.
She moved out to Spain at the age of twenty-two which is sooner than you. For you, it was difficult to leave home and everyone there. For her, not as much. She has always been more adventurous and braver when it came to stuff like this. That's why it was such a surprise you decided to move here. Well, you did talk about wanting to come here but it was mostly fantasy talk.
She surely didn't take you seriously, knowing you wouldn't just pack your things and leave. However, you've met Hoseok and if it weren't for him, you wouldn't have the guts to leave.
"What? You did say he's young." she elaborates, shrugging at the raised brow you're showing her.
"So he's gotta be hot as well?"
If it were for you, that's exactly how you would describe your boss. Which by the way, seems very inappropriate and you almost get embarrassed for thinking it. It feels weird to be talking about it openly, even if it's your sister.
She visibly shrugs, propping her chin on her palm. "He's young and successful. It would be a shame if he wasn't hot, just saying."
"He's decent," you hum instead, not giving the pleasure to unknowing Mr. Jeon that yes, he is hot indeed. The fucker knows it anyway for sure. "I'm more concerned about his personality. He's very firm."
You elaborate more, explain her everything from beginning in more details since messages do not give it justice. She's no stranger to your situation.
"Well, thank god for your friend then," she says after you tell her about the interactions you've experienced with your boss. "And you don't have to work for him forever, right? You just gotta stay there for a while and then you could find something different."
"Whatever that's gonna be, I feel like it's not gonna be anything better."
"Why are you saying that?"
"Because his company is one of the best known in South Korea. He's a millionaire."
"Maybe you could work for another millionaire then." she jokes, earning another glare from you.
"It's not that simple."
"Hm," she hums, popping a piece of chocolate into her mouth. "Is he like, super famous? I could google him. What was his name?"
You laugh, shaking your head. "He's known but he's private. People tend to put their interest and attention on idols and actors, actresses. Not millionaire heirs."
"You know what you should do?"
"What?" you deadpan, knowing one of her brilliant ideas are about to come out.
"You should make more friends. You never know. They might help you in the future, in any field."
That's not exactly a bad idea, you know what she means.
"I'm not gonna make friends just so they could help me when I need them." you point out.
"That's now what I meant," she argues, "Not in that way. But it's not bad to know more people. You gotta understand you don't have your family there, Y/N."
"I know that." you mutter, rubbing your forehead as you make yourself more comfortable in your bed.
"Just think about it."
"Yeah, yeah." you wave the topic off. "I'm ready to make more friends. But currently, there aren't many opportunities to do so."
"What about your co-workers?"
"Right," You press your lips together. "They're all... I don't know, some of them are very welcoming and obviously, the company is large so I don't know everyone. I don't think it's even possible. But some of them are really serious. I don't know how to explain it."
"Maybe it's a cultural thing?" she questions.
"They're just very skilled in everything and I'm a newbie." You're reminded of Max's words. He calls you a newbie.
"It will get better, I'm sure."
You're not sure about that, but you nod and end the topic there. You catch up over other stuff, mainly your sister talking about the reconstruction of her and her boyfriend's bathroom. Once a set of yawns keep coming in the midst of your call, you decide to end it there.
Making sure your alarm is set, even though it's automatic by now, it takes you a minute to stare at the ceiling before darkness swallows you whole.
This time more confident to meet Mr. Jeon's orders and deep eyes that follow you into your dreams.

A little tidbit on Nat. (It turned into other things.) Spoilers for the whole season of The Bear as I'm just a stream of thoughts at this point!
No, helping with childbirth does not heal or bond you to a narc long term. It's a TV show that prides itself on realism but still has a narrative to follow.
I was not moved by Donna that episode. Because in the real world, if Nat's baby has an allergy or some shit, Donna is the type to say that's dumb and kill her own grandchild because she can't be wrong.
Nat has always been empathetic. How did she ignore all the shit she did? I get that she's pregnant, but like... she's not the first person ever to be that way. She never came across as self absorbed to me? She kept on asking Cicero what she could do to stop the hemorrhaging. I don't know, Nat, TELL CARMY NO? If there's no money, there's no money. If he doesn't like that answer tell him to get outside investors who aren't his fucking uncle. Carmy is not an unruly baby, he's a 30 year old man.
Anyone else think these were different characters this season? Beyond just Carmy's regression.
I got the impression that Tiff and Frank had been dating for more than a year or so. In what world would Richie think he should butt out of Evie's life and become a DEAD BEAT DAD just because Josh Hartnett's fine ass got in his face?
Affording a home without the help of parents and being called lonely by your 6 year old means you want to shirk your responsibilities? I know that Richie was concerned about being left behind, but I didn't get the impression that he would abandon his kid. The Richie I grew to know and love would fight heaven and earth for that little girl.
Claire, bitch, I hope you're thriving. Being with Carmy seems like a fate worse than death!
There was such a malaise this season, damn. Moreso from the production side of things--they seemed lost and confused about what they were trying to do. Maybe they should have a sit down in the writer's room, think about why they thought giving 99 percent of the comedy to the Faks and why they DIDN'T HAVE CARMY TRY TO EXPLAIN HIMSELF ONCE OR SEND A SORRY TEXT TO CLAIRE GODDAMN. His inability to face up to his mistakes was tolerable for the first few episodes, but it quickly turned unsympathetic after fucking EVERYONE SAID CARMY LOVED HER and Claire had me siding with her because Carmy didn't tell her shit! He's a big boy and not a baby. Also: HOW LONG IS STORER AND CO GONNA DRAG OUT THE INFANTILIZATION OF THIS GROWN ASS WHITE MAN?
ALSO, WHY COULDN'T WE AT LEAST GET RICHIE AND CARMY MAKING UP?? LITERALLY NOTHING WAS RESOLVED. I feel like if they didn't have season 4 in the bag, this wouldn't be the case.

Hmm I just have this question in my mind. Who do you think is the worst yandere to deal with and who is the easiest to deal with in Joestar blood line? (If can, I'd love to know your ranking on each person)
For me, I think the worst to deal with is Jotaro (he is too strong and smart to fight back) and the easiest is Jonathan (a gentleman, he is so sweet, so easy to manipulate)
~ 🏵️ anon ~
I included Lisa Lisa + Holly because nobody talks about them enough. I love women. Technically Lisa Lisa doesn’t count but shhh. I omitted Johnny because I feel like I should reread sbr… This is subject to change if my interpretation of any of these characters develops, but for now I'm fairly confident in it.
From easiest to worst:
I have to agree with Jonathan for the easiest. He hasn’t discovered free will or the fact that he has the potential to be a lot worse. Look at DIO- besides from the vampirism, that’s all Jonathan. That’s terrifying. A man of that size hunting you down is frightening, but you’re in luck, Jonathan has no plans of mistreating you. He’s very careful to respect your wishes- and mopes when you tell him no. He respects you, he’s not going to go against your wishes and escort you home without you wanting it. (He’ll just follow behind. Very far behind. No one is going to harm his darling on his watch.) He sulks if you flat out reject him, but he’ll leave you alone for a little while. It’s not gentlemanly to pursue someone after they’ve said no! It’s not gentlemanly to beat all of his love’s suitors to almost-death either, but that’s got nothing to do with you. “I just can’t afford to lose you. Won’t you please let me walk you home?”
The worst you’re getting with Josuke is his little random urges to act on his sadism, which is once in a blue moon. You’re fine. You even have the right to go outside and go places without him! He’s like the obsessive boyfriend that blows up your phone when you haven’t texted him in a while. If your phone has a do not disturb mode you’ll be alright. Just send him a selfie and a quick explanation of every little thing in the shot. He tends to cling when you return to him, but is that really so bad? Josuke’s your own personal weighted blanket, and doesn’t jump to conclusions when you miscommunicate. He’ll hear you out, let you explain yourself, take some time to think about it, and give you a little smack on the wrist if you didn’t do anything too bad. That isn’t to say that he won’t properly punish you, it’s just that it takes a lot for him to get there. He’s fair. “You’re going out? Kay, text me.”
Holly is a sweetheart, and by herself, should be much higher on this list.. Her son, however… is the worst. He likely learned his yandere tendencies from her in his youth, when she was still with his father. If you’re going to “parent” him, he’s gonna make sure you’re really fit to be around her in the first place. Holly knows how to read the room, she’s very good at picking up on someone’s true intentions. She’s seemingly very passive, but that isn’t really the case! Holly is very tolerant. She understands the stress, and just wants to help. You can lash out, say things out of stress, maybe even try to run away, but you’ll be back. If you’re not… Well, first you’ll receive a very special “pretty please” message, and second you’ll receive a very pissed off Jotaro, here to drag you by your collar back to where you belong. Holly truly believes that she knows better, and while she doesn’t have the personality to be firm and a bit mean to you to get you back in line, her son does. She doesn’t want to punish you! You’re her everything, your pain is her pain! You’re never in any real danger with Holly. Jotaro coming to get you, though? Fair game. “Oh, sweetheart… please let me put a bandaid on that. I’ll kiss it better!”
As long as you’re complacent, you’ll survive Joseph. Considering the lack of a physical threat, he should be a bit higher, but he’s more overbearing than Holly is, and more willing to trap you himself. Sure, he’ll follow you everywhere and insist on showing you every little thing he’s doing, but he means well. He’s very overbearing, but as long as you consistently show Joseph affection and the attention he’s begging for, you’re allowed to have a relatively normal life. It’s like having a big puppy following you around that thinks he’s a lap dog. He just won’t ever leave you alone. Or let you buy things yourself. Why would he?? He’s right there, let him do it! Not like he’s doing anything with that Joestar money. Joseph’s very touchy, he’ll almost always have his arm around you, or insist on holding hands. He needs you. He goes crazy without you. He can’t sleep, won’t train to his full potential, and barely touches his food if you’re not there. Joseph is obsessed with you, and can’t do anything without having a little hit of you first. Poor guy. “Have you ever thought about moving to new york?”
Jolyne can be an asshole, but she’s a lot better than the rest of this list. She tells it to you how it is- you’re hers, and she wants to be by you all the time. Jolyne’s not the most emotionally expressive, I see her a lot in younger Jotaro, but she is very verbally expressive. She has no mental filter; Nothing’s ever up in the air when it comes to Jolyne. She’s just sort of keeping guard over you most of the time, and is fine with just being around you, for a little while. She’s fine with physically threatening you if you get out of line, her muscles aren’t just for aesthetics. She does it in “subtle” ways- picking you up to move you out of her way, pulling you onto her lap, putting her well-built thigh over you while you’re sleeping together. She tells you to call her “Jojo” and won’t answer to anything else- I think she spent too much time with Gwess. She craves that mushy, disgustingly affectionate talk she used to get from her ex, and fully expects it from you. She’s terribly insecure, and needs the consistent reassurance that you’re into her or she’ll get in your face about it. You don’t like her anymore? What kind of stupid bitch changes their mind in a day? Did she do something? Are you mad?? What’d she do??? “You and me. That’s all you gotta think about.”
Lisa Lisa loves to micromanage. You don’t really need to think with her, do you. All of your needs will be met on her private island- there’s staff, luxurious utilities, and plenty of space for you to “free roam.” You might feel free in the beginning, but once you see people going about their day across the water, it’s clear how trapped you are. Lisa Lisa likes keeping you where she can see you, and if she’s busy with training, you can sit off to the side where it’s safe to watch. If it weren’t for Suzi Q, she’d ask that you bring her drinks every once in a while. Aht. Don’t forget her kiss, either. Lucky for you, Suzi Q is absurdly good at her job, and you won’t need to lift a finger. Just sit there, read your magazine in the sun, or pay attention to Lisa Lisa’s teachings. Not that she’d ever approve of you using hamon. You're meant to be hers, that's it. What's the point of teaching a lap dog how to be a guard dog? Just sit still and be pretty for her, or face the consequences. “Darling, come back inside.”
Jotaro does not know how to be normal. His yandere “habits” weren’t exactly discouraged in his youth, so he sees no issue with behaving this way. An older Jotato might be better to deal with- he’s more calm, more rational. I’d put older Jotaro in the high middle difficulty rather than being on top, since he has a lot more patience and won’t just rush to kidnap you, but young Jotaro? I’ll pray for you. Most of the people down this low on the list are intelligent, thorough, and aggressive. Jotaro meets all three of those categories. He just wants to protect you. Don’t be stupid and push him away. Controlling and way too overprotective, Jotaro sleeps well at night knowing that you’re exactly where you need to be- locked up where no one else can find you, and in his arms. He doesn’t really think much of physical affection- his mother normalized it so much that he truly doesn’t see anything wrong with always touching you. He’s just making sure your heart’s still beating, your lungs are still working, your stomach isn’t growling… Jotaro knows you need the sun, but to be honest, the most you’re getting is the courtyard, or an open window. He just can’t risk it. Maybe he can be convinced to give you some vitamins for what you’re lacking, as long as he can read the label and have some time to research where exactly it’s coming from. If you try to run away enough times, he’ll break your legs. He really doesn’t want to, and will hesitate riiiight before he snaps them both, but he will. He’ll nurse you back to health, and work you through physical therapy, so don’t whine. You did this to yourself. “Don’t be such a pain in the ass, I’m helping you.”
Giorno is not too keen on letting his possessions act on their own. That’s what you are, really. All of passione is under his possession, sure, the products, the money… the people. He views you as one of his things. That isn’t to say that he doesn’t love you, he very much so does, but there just isn’t room for doubt that Giorno views you as ‘his’ first, and a person second. He knows what he’s doing to you by clipping your wings, it’s a shame things have to be this way in order for him to obtain what he wants. He understands it's wrong to kidnap someone, and to restrain them, but in the end, isn't it for the better? It's like keeping a cat strictly indoors. You may underestimate him since he isn’t as physically built as the rest of his family- even Jolyne has considerably more muscle than him- but that would be unwise. Giorno’s thought of every possibility, and has prepared for it sufficiently- what he has on Jotaro is his ability to adapt, quickly. He's a very quick learner. Giorno can sweet talk his way out of any situation, whether that be through twirling his hair and giving you that doe eyed expression or through a genuine threat. He has both the foundation and passione twirled around his pinky. What makes Giorno so awful is his ability to read you, and the fact that if you ever seriously wrong him, you’ll never see Heaven. Once Giorno loves you, it's him or death- You get no warnings. It’s pointless to hide your true intentions from Giorno. You may think you have choices, but it’s all the same in the end. His expectations are very high, but to avoid disappointment, he’ll likely pick someone that already meets some of his requirements- Why would he go through the effort of fixing someone to his liking when he can find someone that’s perfect for him, and will stay perfect? Giorno is as alluring as can be, and once you’re finally within his grasp, there is no way out. “I expected more from you.”

i dont believe in love at first sight... but god-damn - part one
pairing: buck barnes x reader
summary: its not normal for bucky to instantly feel something for a women. but you're just too good to ignore...
includes: strangers to lovers, inferred female reader (pronouns, descriptions, etc), implied smut?, alcohol intoxication, drinking, steve rogers ofc, story doesnt really follow any movie plots so no spoliers!, all characters are of drinking age, pet names?: sweetheart, doll
the night has barely even started and you're already halfway drunk, laughing over the loud music with your friend at the bar. your best friend, steve, orders another round and turns to you.
"are we just gonna sit here all night or are you finally gonna find someone to go home with?" steve cocks his head playfully and smiles, his obvious playful demeanor poking right through.
you roll your eyes, taking a sip of your drink, "psh. you really think anyone here wants me? plus we're in the bad part of town, i'd probably get murdered."
"not necessarily, i know plenty of good people that go here often. and you know, actually, i think today's the day that my friend bucky comes and grabs a couple drinks."
you smile, "ahh the infamous bucky, i would love to meet him, he's all you used to talk about after all."
steve agrees with you that if bucky shows up he'll introduce you, so you lay back on the drinks just in case you like the guy.
an hour or so pass with you a steve laughing about god knows what and getting excited when one of you twos favorite songs play. you almost forget you might be meeting bucky when steves face lights up towards the door and waves.
"hey bucky! over here!" steve motions for bucky to join the two of you.
you turn around and your heart pounds, the man walking over is gorgeous, even the way he walks over to the two of you sends heat to your face.
buckys not so quick to notice you, more focussed on asking his friend why he's here. but when he finally notices you, his sentence falters. his eyes travel to all parts of you, your hair framing your face perfectly, and the way your outfit showed off the features of your body had him almost drooling. he looks away quickly though, finishing his sentence.
steve smiles and nudges you with his shoulder, "y/n and i like to go here sometimes after work, gets the nerves to settle ya' know?"
bucky nods, turning his head to make eye contact with you, "y/n, huh? never heard of her, are you two..."
steve nervously laughs, "no,no. just friends. she is looking, though."
you roll your eyes, embarrassed. meanwhile, bucky is looking you over again, his own mind confused on why he's feeling this way.
steve exchanges a glance between the two of you, sipping his drink, "buttt i do know that buck is very 'hard to get' in that area so sorry y/n, he's probably not interested."
you gasp and shoot him a look, "i never said anything about being into him," you glance at bucky, "no offense."
"none taken sweetheart." your heart basically stops at the nickname, but you power through and take a sip of your drink while steve laughs.
"okay okay, sorry. how about we order some more drinks? gotta catch you up to speed james." steve smiles and orders more drinks for the three of you.
the drinks continue, so many rounds that you stopped counting after steve both you and bucky to the dance floor. the three of you danced pitifully, laughing whenever a new song played and the style of dance was altered.
after about twenty minutes of this, you left steve and bucky and sat down at a nearby booth, laying your head agasint the table, this hangover was gonna suck.
"tired already?" buckys deep voice sent shivers down your spine.
you lifted your head and groaned, "don't pay me any mind, i'm sure steve needs a dance partner." i look over to steve who's still going at it for whatever reason.
bucky scoffs a little, "you know hes not even drunk right? the sss makes it so he can't."
"of course i know, i think he has the placebo effect though, whatever makes him happy i guess." you smile, glad at least someone can have fun without the repercussions the next morning.
there's a moment of silence between the two of you. bucky looks down at you, wearing a subtle smirk that you can't decipher if it's a drunken one or something more than that.
bucky knows he feels something for you, but he's trying so hard to fight it.
james buchanan barnes does not believe in love at first sight.
but there you were, you're unmistakably stunning, every thing about you make bucky want more. all he knew was your name, and he still wanted you.
he clears his throat, using it as a way to clear his thoughts, "so you and steve, you guys aren't a thing? that's a surprise actually, the way he looks at you and all." there's a slight hint of jealously in his voice, even though he has no reason to be jealous.
you raise your eyebrow, baffled that someone would even think that, there's no way there's anything between the two of you, "we definitely are not a thing, steve's like my brother."
bucky nods and moves to sit down across from you, the intoxication beginning to mess with his head.
you giggle, "you and steve aren't a thing either?" you smile playfully.
"haha. you're funny." bucky says sarcastically, "no, we just go way back." he returns your smile, making your heart speed up.
you both can hear steve pleading the two of you to come back and dance. bucky makes eye contact with you then bursts out laughing, "i guess we should go and dance with him." he says between chuckles while he gets up and walks back to the dance floor. you sigh and follow him, a headache starting to form in your temples.
for whatever reason, captian america himself has amazing dance skills when it comes down to it. you and bucky cheer him on, joining in with him every so often. but it comes to the points where you're drunkenly swaying to the music, right against buckys front side.
you don't essentially realize how close you two are until you turn around and you're inches from his face.
you both pause for a beat, your breaths fanning out onto each others faces. bucky face is hot, whatever you did with your hips has his pants growing tighter by the second. but he holds himself together and hovers his hands above your waist.
"may i?"
you pause, but then nod, figuring it was harmless. he places his hands on your waist, surprisingly gentle, and sways to the music with you.
steve laughs, "jeez that didn't take long, thank god." he winks and walks over to a group of girls that has just walked in.
before you know it, you and bucky are stumbling out of the bar, leaving steve behind. your lips are crashing together as the both of you try to make it to buckys car.
you're desperate at this point, the alchol making you want to commit all types of unholy. you hold on the the collar of his shirt, kissing him deeply.
"now hold on doll, this is a public parking lot, let's go somewhere more private." you reach the car and bucky unlocks it, opening the car door for you.
you slide in and he closes the door, walking over the the other side and getting in.
bucky starts the car and starts to drive off, not worried about his drunken state. his right hand leaves the steering wheel and finds your thigh.
inching higher. and higher.
at this point you've lost your breath, biting your lip as your senses light up, little fireworks going off in your body.
finally, bucky pulls off onto a back road and stops the car, his hands moving further up onto your waist, pulling you over to his side and pulling you into another deep kiss.
his hands find your thighs again and your heart pounds, grinding down on his lap.
bucky chuckles, "needy are we? let me help you out then, sweetheart."
a/n: there is gonna be a part twooo so stay tuned for that
im not very good at writing the slow shit so i apologize if this is really boring but i think i'll improve in the next part because it is my area of expertise...
also dont drink and drive folks

I'm redoing an entire chapter of my "Grab My Hand and Don't Ever Drop It" fic so here's the original draft lol. It's basically it's own ficlet, where Peter rescues Neal after Neal goes missing. About 800 words.
It was just out of practicality that Peter kept being in situations where he needed to hold Neal Caffrey’s hands. The third time hardly even counted as holding.
It started when his heart fell through his stomach when Mozzie called him one night. “Neal is with you, right?”
“No? He left work around six, I haven’t seen or heard from him since.” It was now going on eleven, Peter had just been finishing up going over the paperwork for the undercover mission they’d done that day. A lawyer had come in accusing the bosses at her attorney’s office of money laundering, and Neal had been sent undercover as her new assistant to do some poking around, track down the trail.
“I just came over, a long day of- nothing actually, but he’s not here. June says he hasn’t come home yet. She also thought he was with you.”
“Damnit. Damnit.” Peter hung up the phone without another word and dialed Diana as he pulled up Neal’s tracking anklet. “Listen Diana, something’s gone wrong for Neal. I’m pulling his tracking data up now, since we didn’t get a call from the marshal’s he must still be inside his radius. I want you to call for backup and send them to this address.” Thank god he put Neal’s tracker back on him when they’d debriefed after the work day. Peter had almost let him go home without it, just in case, but he’d thought there would be less risk in Neal wearing it than not. He thought the lawyers weren’t going to ask him to meet up in the middle of the night, but other people might jump on the opportunity to talk while Neal was off his radius, so keeping tabs on Neal off the clock was supposed to be an overly cautious risk.
Peter was right in one aspect. Neal wasn’t asked.
Peter and his back up found Neal in an abandoned warehouse in Hell’s Kitchen, because of course that’s where it was. The two managing partners for the law office had him gagged and held at gunpoint, watching as Neal made the dye for their printing press and fed it through the machine. The bastards stood there in coats, gloves, and hats while Neal worked in only his suit in the late January cold.
“I knew y-you’d check my t-tracker eventually.” Neal’s teeth chattered as he spoke once Peter pulled the gag from his mouth. “Was j-just killing t-time unt-til then.”
“Mozzie called, told me you weren’t home, that’s when I checked.” Peter said, untying the knotted cloth. “Would’ve been another hour or two before I checked on my way to bed.”
“Always burning the m-midnight oil. Speaking of, I’m r-r-really cold.”
Peter unzipped his coat and wrapped it around Neal’s shoulders before ushering him to his car outside. He cranked the heat on high, pointing the vents at Neal, then taking one of Neal’s shaking hands in his own to hold it up to the heater while also examining it.
Neal hissed at first, instinctively trying to pull his hand away, but Peter held firm to it, rubbing his palm over the back. “Need to warm them up before you get fucking frostbite.”
“Not gonna get frostbi-bite.” Neal argued, shifting in his seat. “Wool suit at least k-kept me from getting hy-hypothermia. Just f-fucking cold.”
“Being fucking cold is the first step to both frostbite and hypothermia.” Peter kept rubbing Neal’s hand between his own, then grabbed the other and repeated the process. “Maybe I should take you to the ER, get you checked out.”
“No. Peter I’m f-fine. Just-just give me ten m-minutes to warm up.”
So, Peter did just that, watching the car clock closely as he switched from rubbing Neal’s left hand to his right and back again. Slowly but surely, Neal’s teeth stopped, he stopped shivering, and his hands went from painfully white to slowly regaining their pink. By the time the ten minutes were up, Peter was satisfied that Neal wasn’t in immediate danger, but like hell he was going to let him out of his sight.
“Call Mozzie, tell him you’re staying at El and mine’s place tonight. You need somewhere warm.”
“June’s is warm Peter,” Neal said, but soft and laced with exhaustion. “I have a bed with blankets and everything.”
“You have fucking grandiose antique windows that I know keep that room ten degrees colder than whatever the thermostat is set to.” Peter gave one last squeeze to Neal’s left hand before letting it go. “I’ll call Elizabeth while you call Mozzie to let him know you're okay. She’ll have soup ready for you. She even has some fresh sourdough from the bakery.”
Neal watched him hesitantly, eyeing Peter over, before softly, “Can you ask her to toast the bread?”
#white collar#neal caffrey#peter burke#it just didn't fit the vibes of the fic well lol it was too inspired by whumptober#i had another idea for a scene that i think will fit the slow burn vibes of the story more#my writing

Be Mine Forever (18+)
Request: Hey sweets ! Soo I'm gonna try and send you this idea ☺️ Rooster is really fond of a girl he meets at a bar, and even if it's not his usual behavior, he takes her home with him and they end up in bed. She leaves in the morning while he's still asleep cause she thinks he doesn't want her around. As he wakes up he's more than sad that she's gone. Later at the Navy Base, he find's out she's also a pilot for the Dagger Mission, so both are happy to meet each other. After a while he finally admits that he never wanted her to leave and that he has feelings for her, which she also returns? Hope this is not too weird ☺️
Pairings: Bradley Bradshaw x Floyd!Pilot!Reader
Callsign- Stormfire
Warnings: 18+, angst, fluff, smut
Masterlist
Being back at Top Gun is bittersweet for one you got to see your brother again, aka Robert 'Bob' Floyd, and your friends such as Javy 'Coyote' and Jake 'Hangman' Seresin. But it also brought up a lot of bad memories this is where your best friend, Jason 'Steel' Winters, who was your wingman, got into a training accident and died due to a training accident gone wrong.
You would think that they would station siblings together but that was not the case. Since Bob was a WSO they sent him to a base that needed more WSOs and you were a pilot, so they sent you to the VFA-151 Vigilantes, aka Jake's squad. It was hard not being with your older brother but you knew they did what they had to do and you had to be ok with it. You were the total opposite of your brother where he was shy and reserved you were outgoing and wouldn't take no for answer.
Jake was considered your friend because he was there when it happened and comforted you and now is like the other annoying older brother. You both were and still are stationed together in the same squad since the beginning of your time in the Navy and went to Top Gun together. You both started a friendship real quick but it never turned into anything more.
You arrived at The Hard Deck in jeans and a cute t-shirt and not in your Khaki uniform. You sat down and the bar and immediately Penny saw you and came up and gave you a hug.
"What are you doing here? You've been gone for what seems like forever!" She said as she pulls away and you smile.
"Oh, you know Navy stuff." You laughed "I'm back here at Top Gun." You said to her. Jake walked up to the bar and ordered some beers for everyone and noticed you instantly.
"Well hello there, Stormfire. Long-time no see. " Jake said and you smiled at him. He was the one that gave you the callsign according to him you stormed into the base with a trail of fire behind you and wouldn’t stand down to anyone, even your commanding officers although you did what you were told you did it with sass. You got up and hugged him.
"Hey, Hangman. Also, you just saw me a couple of days ago." You and he laughed as he pulled away from you.
"You going to join us?" He asked pointing over to the group you saw your brother and he waved causing you to wave back.
"No, I'm gonna sit this one out. I'm gonna drink my sorrows away." You told him and he nodded understanding.
"Well, you know where we are if you wanna join us." He said and kissed your temple and you nodded. He gave you a reassuring pat on the back and walked away with the order Penny got ready for him.
"You and Hangman?" She questioned with a raised eyebrow.
"Nothing there. He's just another brother, an annoying one at that, to me. He was there when I lost Jason." You told her and she nodded remembering. She excused herself and walked over to someone and began talking to him more like flirting and you just laughed.
You sat at the bar for a while and decided to head outside for just a little bit. You heard the jukebox cut off, the piano play, the bell ringing, someone being thrown out, and Jake's voice but you were too far away from the chaos. You sat out there for a few hours and then decided to go back into the bar, where you saw a handsome guy with a mustache, and by the looks, he had been drinking and noticed you too. You walked back to the bar where Penny was already handing you the drink you always drank. You were a little bit tipsy by the time the gorgeous hunk of a man walked over to you.
"Hey, beautiful. My name is Bradley Bradshaw." He said to you and you blushed.
"Y/N." You said not giving a last name you said slightly tipsy. "Let me guess Naval aviator?" You asked him and he seemed shocked.
"How did you know?" He asked shocked and he too was slightly tipsy.
"Well, first your aviators and then that mustache, no sane person would even attempt to grow one if not an aviator." You said and he seemed pleased. You didn't notice that your 2 best friends and brother looking at you too.
"Do you want to get out of here?" He asked you. Normally you wouldn't but you wanted to forget about Jason so you went for it.
"Sure. Your place or mine?" You asked.
"Mine would probably be closer." He said and you nodded and headed to your cars.
"I'll follow you." You told him and he nodded he got in his Bronco and you in your Jeep. It wasn't 10 minutes and you both arrived at his place. He wasn't wrong he did live fairly close. You both got out and instantly he was kissing you. You walked to the front door and he unlocked it.
You both barley made it into the door before his lips were back on yours. He had you pinned to wall but you grabbed him and turned him around to where you had him pinned to the wall you pulled over his Hawaiian shirt and his white t-shirt to revel his rock hard abs. You slowly started to go down onto your knees kissing him down his chest and got to his jeans and looked up from your position at him as you unbuckled his belt.
"You look so good on your knees, baby" He told you voice deeper and pupils blown.
"Anything to please you handsome." You told him as you unzipped his pants and shoved your hand down his pants and boxers to meet his half hard cock. You pumped him a few times which brought a moan out of him.
"That feels good, baby. I wonder how your little pretty lips would look wrapped around it." He said in a tone that made you drip with arousal and had to squeeze your legs together to get the friction you needed but it didn't work. You pulled his pants down and he kicked them off as his now hard cock slapped his abs. You stroked him and took him in your mouth bobbing your head up and down, occasionally swirling your tongue around his anger red tip. "You look absolutely perfect with your mouth around me." He said and leaned his head back while one hand came to the back of her head, but not forcing you down, and the other came to your cheek. You hallowed your cheeks and took him further and moaned at the stretch which vibrated him and made me release a photographic moan. You pulled away with a pop and a line of spit connecting to you and his cock needing air. "As much as love you sucking me off I need to be in that tight pussy." He said.
"I need you to feel you cum inside me." You told him and he was about to ask about condoms but you stopped him "I have an IUD." and you could've sworn his eyes darkened. Next thing you knew he was picking you and taking you to his bedroom each step you could feel his tip brush against your clothed core and you shivered.
You both made it your bedroom where he gently took sat you down and started to kiss you again. He took off your shirt to revel your black laced blue and he swore he almost drooled at the site.
"You like what you see?" You asked him with a smirk.
"Absolutely. I can't wait to see how wet your pussy is for me." He said as he cupped your core and you let out a breathy moan. You leaned up for him to unhook your bra and he did so one handed the other hand never leaving your heat. Once the bra was off he dove straight into sucking your nipples and it felt wonderful you hands came up and ran your fingers through his hair. He didn't leave other nipple unattended, he gave it the same treatment he gave the other one. Once he was satisfied and had you a moaning mess he started to kiss down your sternum and down to the top of your jeans where he started to undo them. He was pulling them off, you lifted your hips to let him pull them the rest of the way down and he saw the matching lace blue underwear. "How did you know blue was my favorite color?" He asked you, his voice deeper.
"Lucky guess." You giggled but it didn't last long because he had his mouth on your clothed core not a second longer. A moan left your mouth "Yes right there." You told him hands coming up to his hair. He slid your underwear to the side and pushed thick digit into you that had your breath escaping you. He came up from eating you.
"My goodness you're so tight. I can't wait to get my cock inside you." He said and removed his finger your let out a whimper as he pulled down your underwear and off of your legs and threw them with the rest of your clothes. He kissed the inside of your thighs and ghosted over where you needed him the most and did the same to your other inside thigh.
"Bradley-" you began but he dove in right where you needed him. He licked a broad strip from your entrance to your clit and you were almost seeing stars. He held onto your thighs as he ate you out like you were his last meal. You were grabbing the bedsheets in both hands and arching your back trying to meet him but one hand came down across your stomach to hold you down while the other hand pushed two fingers into you, your eyes were closed. The little band your stomach was quickly tightening and just about to snap when he stopped you.
"As much as I would love to see you cum on my fingers, I need you to see you cum on my cock, baby." He said and you could see your arousal all around his mouth. He climbed up onto the bed and hovered over your body and kissed you, you could taste your arousal. Every now and then you could feel his tip brushing your entrance and your clit. He grabbed his cock in one hand and gave it a few pumps before he then put it where you needed it the most and pushed in, your eyes closed and mouth opened you could've came right then and there. He caged you in with his arms "You're so tight. I can feel you gripping my fat cock, baby." He said and you opened your eyes and looked at him. He started to move and that familiar snapping rubber band was coming back. You brought your hands to his hair and brought him down in a kiss as he was thrusting into you. He broke the kiss and started peppering your neck and sucking on it now on his forearms. "That's it baby. You feel so good." He said coming up for air he looked right into your eyes as one hand went to your clit.
"Bradley I'm close." You said out of breath and as a moan ripped from you. He sped up his movements and rubbing. All you could hear was slapping of skin and uneven breathing. The room smelt like sex. At this rate you weren't going to last. Taking that into note he bent his head and sucked on your right nipple again and you closed your eyes and mouth opened in a silent moan. He switched to the left nipple to give it the same attention again and then let up looking at your face.
"Cum for me baby." He said That rubber band finally snapped and your pussy tightened around his cock, you saw stars and whiteness all around you. Once you came down from your high you looked him in his eyes "Gosh damn baby. Your pussy is clenching my cock. It feels so good." He said as his hips started to go out of rhythm "I'm close." He told you, at some point his arms were back caging you in. Your hands found them on his back and your nails scraped down his back leaving red scratches that would certainly hurt and be there for a good amount of time during the day tomorrow. Every hit and brush against your clit over stimulated you and you had your second orgasam that night before he came which was definitely his goal but you didn't know it.
"Cum in me, please! I want all of you!" You yelled out and just a few seconds later he moaned and stilled inside of you and threw his head back. His cum painted your walls white. He put all of his weight on his forearms, so he wasn't crushing you, and brought his head down to your neck where you could feel his breath on your neck.
"You were amazing baby." He told you and pulled out and rolled off the left side of you. You both laid there for a minute catching your breath. You both were exhausted, he opened his arms and you crawled into them and laid your head on his chest not much talking was done but almost instantly you both fell asleep.
It was 5 AM when you woke and decided to leave. After all, it didn't mean anything, right? He didn't love you. You were just a fling. That is why you decided to leave early in the morning to save yourself from heartbreak. You both were here for a mission and surely he didn't want a relationship. During the night you had turned from each other but his arm was still around you. You slowly got out from underneath his arm and got dressed and slowly headed out the door quietly shutting the door and starting your Jeep and drove back to your apartment.
When you got there you went back to bed for the time being and then your alarm went off. You got up and went through your daily morning routine, into your flight suit, put your hair up into a nice neat bun, and went off to the base. You arrived at the base and parked next to Jake's black truck and walked into the building.
Once inside you saw your brother and went to him. He greeted you with a hug and Jake and Javy did the same.
"Saw you headed out with Bradshaw last night." Jake said to you with a smirk.
"Nothing there. It was just for fun." You told him with a shove and a smirk of your own. It was a total lie, just one look and you were instantly in love. He slung an arm around you and wasn't looking at you but at someone that just walked in.
"Don't look now Bradshaw just walked in." He said but that wasn't going to stop you from looking and you did. Bradley saw you and walked over.
"Y/N." He said
"Bradley." You replied and shrugged Jake's arm off of your shoulders.
"Can I talk to you?" He asked you and you nodded letting him lead you to somewhere private. You got there and stood there looking at him. "You didn't tell me you were in the Navy or an aviator." He said.
"You never asked." You told him.
"You and Hangman?" He asked
"Nothing there. He's like another older brother. He was there when I lost my wingman and gave me my callsign." You told him.
"Brother?" He asked and looked down at your name patch that had 'Lt. Y/N Floyd' on it. "Bob is your brother?" He asked.
"Yea they wouldn't let us station together. Got stationed with Jake and Javy." You told him. It was silent for a hot minute. He was going to say more but class was about to start. You both walked in and you sat beside him. When your instructor, Maverick, walked in you noticed the tension.
You all did your hops and some went without issue and some didn't. When Bob and Nat got hurt you nearly lost it but after being reassured by Bob that he was ok you eased up.
When Javy went into gloc you again about lost it but Jake was there to help you feel better along with Bradley. This mission was really serious and dangerous, you knew it was but this just confirms it.
You and Bradley had gotten closer and both of you started to fall in love with each other. Especially with him being there comforting you.
2 days before the mission you all were walking back to your cars when he stopped you from getting in.
"Why did you leave that morning we slept together? I was heartbroken." He asked and told you with a frown etched onto your face.
"I figured you didn't want a relationship and that you didn't want me to stay or want me around. So I decided to save myself from the heartbreak and left." You told him and saw a frown come onto his face.
"That's not true. I want you around. The first time I saw you, I instantly fell in love and each day I spend with you I keep falling in love with you even more. It broke my heart when I woke up to an empty cold bed." He told you and brought a hand to your cheek.
"I felt the same way when I met you at the bar of The Hard Deck and have also been following in love with you. I really didn't want to leave but I let emotions get the best of me. I want to be around you all the time." You said and brought your hand to the hand holding your cheek.
"Now that we have that out of the way. Be mine forever?" He asked you in a hopeful tone.
"Of course. Now let's get through the mission and start our life together." You told him with a smile and he smiled back. He leaned down to kiss you and you gladly kissed him back.
Now all you had to do was make it back from the mission alive and then you two could start your lives together.

The Washington Tales
Request from anon: Could you perhaps write something about how the reader is Spencer’s kid and they don’t like how he always gets up and goes on cases and they’re stuck alone or with a babysitter so they try to make a point by running away and Spencer has to rush home?
Spencer Reid x teen!reader
Summary: Spencer's busy schedule leaves you feeling lonely. You run away, finding company in an old friend.
A/N: Alright if I'm gonna write Spencer I'm writing full on super-nerd-dad Spencer. We all know that this man is a total dork and i'm running with it. Only real ones will understand the title reference.
CW: reader feeling lonely, running away, nerd level is through the roof.
---
Spencer heard his phone ringing insistently behind him. He had already let it go to voicemail twice and the sound of the plastic against the table was beginning to interrupt his concentration. He turned away from the evidence board and moved towards the table to see who needed him so desperately while he was working.
“You better have not given my number out again, Morgan,” Reid said, recalling their past prank war.
“I never use the same prank twice, pretty boy,” Morgan said, not looking up from his files.
When Spencer saw that the number was your school he automatically became concerned. Your teachers were worried that you were beginning to fall behind on your assignments. They wanted to set up a parent conference with him, but the team had been so loaded with cases he simply didn’t have the time. He didn’t even have time for this phone call if he was being honest, but he picked it up anyway.
“Hello, you’ve reached Dr. Spencer Reid from the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit,” he said, still in professional mode instead of dad mode from working on the case for so long.
“Dr. Reid,” the lady on the phone started. “We’re calling because your child, (Y/N) Reid, never showed up for school this morning.”
“Pardon?” Spencer said.
“They’re absent from school today,” the lady told him.
“Okay, thank you.” He hung up the phone and went to dial Garcia.
“What is it?” Morgan asked.
“(Y/N) didn’t go to school this morning,” Spencer told him. Morgan gave him a sympathetic look.
“You’ve reached the FBI’s office of supreme genius, how may I serve you today?” Garcia answered.
“Garcia, can you track (Y/N)’s phone. They didn’t show up to school today,” he said.
“Sure thing… annnddddd they’re at your apartment.”
Spencer sighed. “Thanks, Garcia.” As soon as he hung up he called you, but you didn’t answer. He tried again, just for good measure, but he didn’t bother leaving a voicemail. There was a real possibility that you hadn't charged your phone- another bad habit you had fallen into recently. Instead, he texted the babysitter- you were old enough that you didn’t need one, but he hired a nice lady to check on you in the evenings just to make sure you were okay. He let her know the situation and to tell you to call him when she saw you that night.
---
When Spencer’s phone rang again he was still looking at the evidence board, trying to piece together the case. He averted his view from the crime scene photos to answer the call.
“Dr. Reid,” the babysitter sounded panicked and upset. “Dr. Reid, they’re gone.”
“Wait, slow down,” Spencer said as calmly as possible. “What happened?”
Now it sounded like the babysitter was close to tears. “I came into the apartment to check on (Y/N) and they aren’t here! They just left a note that says “Farewell, I am gone.” signed with their initials. Dr. Reid, I’m so sorry.”
Spencer felt a strange feeling bubble in his gut- a note could mean a million things. “It’s not your fault,” he told the babysitter. “But I need you to send me a picture of the note, okay? As clear as you can possibly get it.”
“Oh-okay.” She sniffled and Spencer heard rustling on the other end of the line before receiving the picture.
“Thank you,” he told her. “Don’t worry about it. Go home and get some rest.” He hung up before she could reply.
He didn’t want to tell the babysitter that a note usually meant one of two things- either you’d been kidnapped and coerced into writing something to make it seem as if you had run away, or you had actually run away. And it didn’t take an expert in handwriting analysis to see that the note you had left was freely written.
“Damn it.” He wanted to say some other words as well, but Hotch had just walked into the room.
“What is it, Reid?” he asked.
“(Y/N) ran away.” Spencer looked desperately between his phone and the evidence board. Now, instead of his brain being too preoccupied with work all he could feel was worry. Anything could have happened to you and you had obviously been gone since this morning, but there was a chance that you had fled after the babysitter left you alone the previous night. You could have been anywhere.
“Go home,” Hotch told him. He tossed him the keys to one of the SUVs. “It’s about a seven hour drive back to Virginia. Get Garcia to help you.”
Reid thanked his boss and got into the car. He had never been one to speed, much less speed and talk on the phone at the same time, but desperate times called for desperate measures. Garcia looked through everything- people you could have called, public transportation you might have taken, even going as far as to hack into the security cameras at your favorite bookstore- but the only trace you had left was that you had pulled some money from an ATM.
Spencer drove straight to the apartment and looked around for any clues you may have left about where you were going, but there was nothing except the note. You hadn’t packed a bag and the amount of money you had wasn’t enough to sustain you for very long. You couldn’t have gone far. It wasn’t like his mom could take care of you and surely if you had showed up at one of your friend’s houses their parents would have called him. His brain was working at a million miles an hour, trying to think of where you could have possibly gone.
“Reid,” Garcia said, sympathetically, “I know I’m not a parent and I’m not a profiler, but have you ever stopped to think about why (Y/N) ran away?”
“I-” He paused, thinking about your behavior in the past few months. It wasn’t just the trouble at school- it was also not wanting to watch TV with him when he was home or even making dinner for yourself and not waiting until he got home to eat together. The team had been so busy that he had pulled away… and you had pulled away from him too. “I’ll call you back, Garcia.”
Spencer ran out of the apartment and back down to the car. He knew where you had gone. It was where he would have gone too.
---
You weren’t sure if there was a place you loved more than the Library of Congress. The building itself was glorious; looking as though someone had carved it all out of one massive slab of stone. The columns stretched tall and strong, supporting arches painted like tiles. Grand floors were patterned with shapes that fit together like a mosaic.
But it was the soul of the building that you really loved- being surrounded by hundreds of thousands of books that each had something to teach or a story to tell. You remembered coming there with your dad when you were younger and him telling you that as long as you had a good book in your hand you would never be alone. So of course when you felt most alone you went somewhere full of things that couldn’t possibly make you feel lonely- but the your heart still felt as empty as the apartment. At the moment, your only friend was fiction.
“Oh, (Y/N) dear, we’re closed!” One of the librarians rushed up to you. She had known you since Spencer began taking you there as a baby. She had watched your taste in literature change from picture books all the way to helping you find a copy of a research paper you had wanted to write about for school.
You looked down a bit sadly. “I know visiting hours are up, but can I stay just a bit longer? My dad is away on a case again and I could use some company.”
The librarian smiled at you, the lines in her face far more prominent than they had been when you were little. “Of course. As long as you put your favorite friend away when you’re done.” She winked at you behind wire framed glasses and walked in the opposite direction.
The library was large enough to get lost in, but you knew where you were going like the back of your hand- It was the same book that you pulled out every time your dad was away. Not wanting to go all the way to the reading room, you sat down on the floor before carefully flipping through the book’s pages and beginning to read through something you so badly wished was being read to you instead.
---
Footsteps echoed through the library, coming slowly up behind you. You expected it to be a security guard, telling you that it was time for the library to rest for the night, so you nearly jumped out of your skin when the echoing stopped and you heard your dad’s voice.
“Love will not be constrain'd by mastery. When mast'ry comes, the god of love anon/Beateth his wings, and, farewell, he is gone. Love is a thing as any spirit free.”
You turned to look at your dad. He was still wearing his work attire, his hair a tangled mess of brown curls, but even in the dim light of the library you could see the small smile on his face.
You scowled. “Though there was nowhere one so busy as he/ He was less busy than he seemed to be,” you retored and went back to your reading.
You heard Spencer sigh before walking up and taking a seat beside you. “I’m not busy now.”
“It’s a bit late for that, dad.” You didn’t take your eyes off the pages, but you were no longer reading the words, tears building up in your eyes.
Spencer gently pulled the book from your hands and closed it. “You know,” he started. “When you were little, Garcia bought you a box set of Dr. Seuss books. I thought you would be so excited to see all the fun pictures and colors, but every time you were given a choice, you always asked me to read you this.” He held up the book- The Works of Geoffrey Chaucer. "Please tell me what's going on," he said quietly.
You turned away, not wanting your dad to see that you were crying. “I miss you, dad. You’re never around anymore and I get really lonely without you.”
“(Y/N),” he cooed, “why didn’t you say anything?”
You shrugged a little helplessly. “You catch criminals and save people. I can’t just ask you to stay home because I’m sad you’re gone.” It came out a bit sarcastic, but the tears were still real.
Spencer took a handkerchief from his pocket and softly dried your eyes before offering the book back to you. “Page 549, paragraph 2, last sentence.”
You carefully took the book from his hands and turned to the page, tracing your finger down to the location he had told you. As you read the line in your head, your dad said it outloud:
“Amour vincit omnia: Love conquers all.”

Y/n's pov
"You'll be fine, y/n, okay? It's just a party with a bunch of drunk teenagers. Nothings gonna happen. Besides, Topper and Rafe aren't here," JJ said as he and I walked on the property of this girl who invited him.
"I know, it's just, they didn't invite me and I know how these people get. Especially the Kook girls to Pogue girls," I said as he stopped in front of me.
"As long as I'm around you, I won't let them say shit to you, okay? We're best friends. I wouldn't let that slide," he said, placing a smile on my face.
"Okay, fine. But only for a couple of hours," I said as he rolled his eyes with a sigh. "No, no, we have to stay longer," he said. "Please," he kept repeating until I finally gave in. "Fine! Fine! Goddamnit," I said making him jump.
"Let's go!" He celebrated as he pulled me towards the front of the house. This place is packed and we're only outside. I can already see a few people eying us because we're probably the only Pogues here. JJ's use to ignoring people but I'm still not.
As I and JJ walked through the crowded house, I could hear people talking about us. They probably wouldn't have noticed me if I came alone but because JJ's so known, making us easy to spot.
"Hey! JJ, right?" A girl asked as she made her way towards us. "Yeah! Hey, Claire," JJ said, trying to put on his flirting voice. I came here to back him up, just in case he feels some way if she drops him last second. And he also wanted me to come and get out of my house for once.
"And you are?" The girl asked me. I could tell she wasn't happy with me being here, by the slight change in her tone and facial expression.
"Scotlyn," I said. "My best friend," JJ added as he pulled me into his side by my waist. I wish he would feel a spark when he touches me like this.
"Mhm, well, is it fine if I steal him from you real quick?" Claire asked as she pulled JJ away from me and wrapped her arm around his. Now they're locked and he has a smile on his face. At least he can be happy.
“No, no, it’s fine,” and quickly after, Claire pulled JJ away from me before he could say something. Tonight’s gonna be a long night. I should at least make it fun.
After being at this party for about an hour, playing drinking games, and watching sports on the TV with some random dudes in the middle of the living room, I decided to take a walk on the beach which isn’t far from the house. It’s basically their backyard.
I stopped at a beach chair and placed my bag that I always carry with me, before looking around to make sure I’m the only one out here.
I sighed and began to take off my clothes. I put my bikini on before I left, hoping JJ would want to show me some tricks in the waves like usual but he was occupied.
After getting my last piece of clothing off, I began to touch my body. This is my first time in a bikini in public. It feels different.
“We’ll look at Scotlyn. Coming out of her comfort zone I see. What made you buy that Bikini? Cause I know it’s not for my best friend’s man. Or is it?” A girl I do not know asked.
“Who’s man? Who even are you?” I asked her. “We’re Claire’s friend and she sent us here to make sure you weren’t setting up some picnic after she got into JJ’s pants,” she said, making my eyes widen.
JJ Maybank is no stranger to the sex life but he also doesn’t like being used and by the way that sentence sounds, getting in his pants is a term he wouldn’t like.
“Where is he?” I asked as I went to pass them but one of the girls pushed me back. “Probably doing what Claire wants. Why does it matter? You like him or something?” The first girl asked as she laughed and pushed me to the sandy ground.
“No! He’s- He’s just my best friend and your tramp bestie isn’t going to ruin him!” I yelled as I got up. I went to run past them but another one grabbed my hair and pushed me to the sandy ground again.
“Oh, save that shit. He’d rather be broken than see that walk in on him,” one of them said, reminding me that I was in my bikini. I know I’m a bit thick but I have a good shape. Well, that’s what JJ says.
“By the time you get up, you wouldn’t have the energy to run to him, yet walk,” another one said, causing my eyes to tear up. “Don’t cry, we’re just telling you the truth. Not being mean or anything,” the first one laughed.
I quickly got up and took off, leaving everything behind. Even JJ. He’ll be fine. He’s probably having more fun than he’s ever had with me and I don’t want to ruin it for him. I need to move on…
JJ Maybank’s pov
“Claire, I’m not really in the mood tonight,” I lied as she tried rubbing all over my body. She’s been giving me the ick ever since she came up to me and y/n earlier.
I thought that maybe if I hung out with her for a little bit, she’d be different or I’d understand her more but it actually has gotten worse and all I want to be around is y/n.
Maybe I should just ask her out since she’s the only girl I ever feel comfortable and happy around. Everyone else is off. Way off and I never feel that feeling when I’m with y/n. Ever.
“What are you talking about,” Claire asked in a tone I haven’t heard tonight. “I just really need to get back to y/n and-“ I tried apologizing but she cut me off.
“Are you serious!? With that fat bitch!?” She angrily said, causing me to push her off of me and stand up from her bed. “Woah, don’t say that shit about her,” I got defensive.
“Why? It’s true! Why would you choose her over me? That makes no sense at all,” she said, making me shake my head with a disgusting look on my face. These’s Kooks are all the same.
“Delete my number,” I said then walked out of her room. She yelled a last “Already done!” before I slammed her room door, hoping her handle or anything would break.
I searched the whole party to find y/n but she’s not here. I quickly ran out to the backyard and down the beach, but she was not there either.
I ran across a beach chair with a bag on it and clothes. They belong to y/n. Shit. I yelled as I made my way into the water with all my clothes and shoes on.
What if she went for a swim and drowned or got taken out by the waves. I know for a fact that she can’t swim in waves. She’s not experienced enough. Fuck!!
I swam around for a while until I got tired and cried my way out of the beach. My tears began streaming down my face as I yelled her name. Why did I leave her?
“Chill out. She ran home,” some girl said. I looked up to see a girl and a few of her friends behind her. They look familiar. “How was the time with Claire?” One asked. They’re her friends.
“Where did she run?” I asked, ignoring her question. “I don’t know. Home,” one laughed. “Why would she run home?” I asked, confused as they laughed.
“We explained and told her the truth about you now wanting her. Maybe if she lost a bit of, you know, fat, she’d maybe have a chance,” a girl said.
That’s when my eyes widen, knowing they bullied her into running away. They used my name, to make it seem like she’s not my best friend and that I care about that shit. I don’t. I’m in love with her and the way she looks.
I quickly ran to y/n’s bag and threw her close into her bag before talking off towards my car so I can run to her house and tell her that all of this was a big miss understanding and that I don’t care about how she looked. She looks beautiful to me.
“Y/n!” I yelled through y/n’s small house, hoping she’d be here. I can’t leave her alone in times like this. I’ve never seen her emotional but if she ran all the way home, she’s definitely feeling some type of way about those girls comments.
“Y/n, where are you? Just talk to me,” I said and finally opened her guest room to find her curled up on the bed. “Y/n…” I said as I walked through the door frame slowly.
That’s when she shot her head up quickly, allowing me to see her red and glossy eyes. She tried covering herself up as she asked what I was doing here at her house.
“Your bag,” I said as I placed her bag on the floor and made my way over to the side of the bed. “Oh, okay. Well, uh, thank you. See you tomorrow,” she tried covering her face by turning to the side but I softly grabbed her wrist and turned her back towards me.
“What did they say to you, y/n?” I asked. “Who?” She asked, knowing exactly who. “You know who, y/n. Tell me everything they said and I’ll handle it. You know I will,” I said, making her shake her head.
“Oh, the girls? Oh, yeah, they didn’t say anything. Yeah, they just- I just forgot my bag, that’s all,” she lied to me as she sniffed and wiped some tears but they keep coming back.
“Y/n, don’t lie to me! I’m not fucking around. What did they say!?” I asked with a louder tone, getting angry at anything they could have said to her. I know how people treat her and it’s not nice at all. She doesn’t deserve that.
Y/n looked me in my eyes then turned back around and began to cry after curling up. Fuck, I didn’t mean to make her cry.
“No, no, no, y/n, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to sound so rude, I just- Baby, I just wanted to know,” I said but she kept crying. I ran my hands through my hair, stressed.
“Shit,” I said as quickly took my clothes off, as well as my boots, and ran to her drawer. I keep spare clothes heard since I’m always over. Day and night.
I change into the clothes then crawled onto her bed and pulled her into my chest. She let me in by pulling me into her and crying into my chest as I rest my head on her forehead and whispered to her.
“It’s okay, baby. I’m here. Don’t let whatever they said, get to you. It’s not true. No matter what they said, it’s not true,” I tried talking her down.
“A-Am I’m pretty to you?” She stuttered as she tried to control her crying. “What? Yes! Yes, of course, you are. I swear I’m not saying that because you’re my best friend,” I said hoping she’s believing.
“But I’m your friend, so, of course, I’m pretty to you,” she cried again. “Y/n, even passed friendship, you’re beyond pretty to me. You’re beautiful. Gorgeous. You’re just so much,” I said.
“I’ve had the biggest crush on you. Shit, I still do, it’s just, we’re best friends and I can’t ruin that, you know?” I said, nothing about what I just confessed to. Shit.
“Y-You have a crush on me?” She asked. “No, nah! Well- Fuck, yes, I do. I really do,” I said, not able to control myself. I had to get it out. I can’t keep things like this in anymore. I can’t hide it. It’s so hard.
“Oh, I didn’t know that,” she said as she looked up at me. “Yeah, I tried keeping it a secret but- Y/n, you’re so fucking perfect. I can’t keep shit like that from you. You need to know this stuff. You need to know how beautiful you are,” I said, making her eyes brighten up. I can see her blushing.
“Okay,” she giggled low as she buried her face into my chest again but this time, she’s not crying. “Yeah, I love you,” I awkwardly said with a slight laugh.
“I love you too,” she said back, making me smile hard. It’s not hard to see that she does. I should have said this earlier in life, but at least she knows now.
At least she’ll know how much I adore her when I talk to her about us tomorrow because there’s no way I’m leaving this house without me being able to call her mine.

Chapter 2- That’s him?
Previous|Table of contents|Next
"Perfect for what?" MK asked the Monkey King with confusion
"To be... MY SUCCESSOR!" Sun Wukong answered in the most dramatic way possible
" Uh... Are you sure you are the Monkey King? You've been cooked up in here for way too long…" MK was checking the monkey's condition as if he was sick " I think your brain went moshed up..."
At that moment Monkey King put MK on the ground with his tail "Listen Kid" Suddenly he started searching for something in the stock of garbage behind him " You fought demons- and you didn't die and you made it here!" He opened a back of dry peaches " Not anyone can lift my staff, but you did" and started eating them.
MK looked at him with even bigger confusion.
"But what about the DBK?!"
"Pff..!" Wukong laughed "You can handle it!" He said while still eating peaches on his cloud "Consider it's a trial!"
"But I-" MK looked down
With that Wukong had no other choice but to give a kid some words.
" Look, if you can lift my staff you can use it" He came to MK and put a hand on his shoulder "Just believe in yourself- even a snitch makes all the difference"
MK looked at his idol with much more relief in his eyes.
AAAND... just when Wukong was about to finish...
Chomp!
A little friend came for a visit.
" Em... Monkey King?" MK looked behind Sun Wukong "I think something is trying to eat your tail"
Wukong didn't even have to look behind him. He knew this pair of little sharp fangs and a sound of wagging tail.
"You...." He looked at Gou all pissed for ruining his moment
Gou on the other hand let go of his tail to bark, probably for him it was a hello.
In no more than 5 second Wukong had summoned his cloud, put Gou on it and gave him a ride to his home.
" IF YOUR OWNER WILL LEAVE YOU HERE AGAIN I SWEAR TO HEAVEN I'M GONNA...- he thought for a while- "LOSE HER WAGES!!"- "though I don't remember paying her anyway..." he muttered the last part to himself
After a while he remembered about MK.
"Ah right!- Sorry, can you remind me when we have finished?"
Hello I don't know if you remember but my name is Jie! In case you wonder who I am let me introduce myself...
You see, once I was a pretty powerful fox demon- Buuuuut for some reason the Jade emperor said that I'm a little bit too powerful and dangerous or something like that, anyway after that the not so good Jade emperor took away half of my power and e.t.c, I had some boring depression after that when suddenly I decided that it would be nice to start a second life!
I was doing pretty great!
Till I realised that I was not fully able to protect myself anymore... after a long, long journey I found myself a perfect place to call home, I spent hundreds years peacefully till the evil lady and her angry son said 'Let's summon the angry bull demon and destroy the city! “Hahahaha”
And I didn't like their plan since lately I too live in the city!
So, brave me asked Monkey King, my old enemy (not really an enemy though) to help me fight the evil guys! He agreed and took me in as his servant (which is really a great honour to me) just before telling me...
That instead of lifting a finger he is going to send some human boy with no experience at all, so to sum it up kids...
"I was scammed..."
"Jie, You're being delusional again" Said Monkey King after the demoness finished her monologue, it was hard to hear his words since he still didn't finish his pack of peaches "I had never deceived you, if anything you should be grateful!
After saying that, he looked at Jie's face which was wearing a suspicious expression mixed with all her complaints.
'What the heck am I supposed to be grateful for?!'- was what she wanted to say
"Think about it this way!" Wukong tried to ease the mood "You practically won't need to intervene in anything since MK will take care of it, after I'll teach him of cou-
He stopped when he noticed that Jie's face didn't fix itself but rather the opposite, now it was screaming 'What a bullshit!'
"A-anyway..." Wukong continued not so confident anymore "Can't you at least wait till you meet him?"
"I'm sure you'll change your mind once you see him! I'm telling you, this boy is a true diamond in the rough!"
"And what if he isn't?" Suddenly Jie spoke with a serious look on her face "What if he's not a diamond but just a normal stone?"
Wukong fell silent for a while but sent her a dissatisfied look to show that she's going too far, yet Jie ignored it and continued.
" Think again master, after spending thousands years with humans you should know it already but humans are wicked creatures, they tend to be greedy and unlike other species they have a changing nature"
"... You're right, but demons also tend to be evil and unlike humans- they rarely change"
This time it was Jie who became silent, she actually didn't have anything more to say so she just clenched her teeth and looked away admitting defeat. Seeing this Monkey King let out a long sigh.
"Listen, we know each other for long enough-
"One month"
"Let me finish!*ahem* Okay, since we already know each other for those long, tiring 4 weeks... Why won't you just trust my judgment for now. I believe in that kid!"
Jie calculated everything they've been saying a while ago
"Alright Master"Her voice was much calmer "When will I get the chance to meet that precious successor of yours?
BOOM!
Within a second a loud sound reached their ears
"How about now?"
Everything was turned into ruins.
Jie wasn't sure who caused more damage- DBK or this black haired boy who wielded Monkey King's stuff
She and her master were standing on the head of a robot watching the group of those new "heroes"
"Soo... what do you think?" Wukong asked as if he was waiting for an applause from the fox demoness
"Master, do you want my opinion?"Jie looked at him kindly
Monkey King didn't respond, but there were more stars shining around him, so Jie treated it as an approval.
"I think you're not in your right mind" Jie spoke without hesitation in a cold tone
"Wha-WHY?!"- Wukong was really shocked by her reaction
" Is that him?" Unlike him, Jie stayed as calm as at the beginning
" Yes"
"THAT'S HIM?!" There was this one tiny blaze of fury in her voice
"...yes?" Wukong felt that blaze on the back of his neck
" So you- ahem..!- Master, you want to tell me that your successor, the new Monkey King, is this mortal? And my peace lays in his hands?!" She pointed at a boy who was swirling the staff around him and making some 'hero' poses
The great sage for some reason started escaping the red, piercing gaze of a fox demoness. But then he remembered his position as her master.
" Well~ if you want to know, I've been keeping a close eye on him from a very long time- AND LOOK"- he started pointing at the boy, who was going somewhere with his friends "You see what he holds in his hands- MY STUFF!"
" Wow, the chosen of a stick" Jie didn't even care about her attitude towards her master "Beware of his power demons and builders" at the last word she looked around the ruins of the city
Monkey King was at the end of his patience. The times when Jie would use sarcasm where rare, but honestly's she was acting a hell of arrogant while using them. It can be said that it was her tricky fox nature switching on.
" Just give kid some time and you'll see for yourself"
Jie didn't expect such a calm answer.
Sigh
"Your right"
"Of course!- now go, make yourself some tea, feed your... pet and-
"I need to check for myself"
"W-What?!"
With that Jie disappeared leaving poor Monkey King with tons of unanswered questions.
"I wonder if I should worry about it?"

What is love? (nines X gn Reader)
BABY DON'T HURT ME NO MORE
Hum hum sorry guys, btw happy holidays even if I'm reaaaally late ! It was sooo nice! There was even snow where I live!
------
You and nines were friends since last month, he came as gavin's partner two months before that, being gavin's best friend, you helped both of them to get along, you took a liking to the android, wondering why he wasn't deviant when every other android did. Connor told you it's because his software is far more advanced than the others androids, for exemple, Amanda wasn't a part of his system unlike connor had, when connor got him out of cyberlife, she instantly got erased by the rk900 software, just like a virus.
It was late in the dpd, everyone was gone, except you, nines, Gavin, hank and connor, you were all teamed on the same case and it was getting frustrating at this point.
"ugh we are not making any progress! At this rate my head will blow up.." Gavin said massaging his temples
"yeah I agree, I'm taking a break, hey, wanna go to the bar to forget this?" hank looked at you and gavin
"heck yes I am old man" Gavin got up and followed the lieutenant when you on the other hand declined politely, still wanting to re-read the reports of your case, connor chased after them, making sure they weren't intoxicated too much. Well that leaved only you and nines in front of the laptop, you readed again everything from the report out loud so nines could hear you.
"a couple was found nearby Detroit playground, an android and a human, both were shot in the chest where the heart is stated, either the killer is a surgeon due to this kind of presision, or it's an android who scanned them"
You massaged your temples just like Gavin did earlier, it was infuriating, no clues, no witnesses, you were to the point 0 on this case, nines got up without you noticing and got you a cup of your favorite drink. You muttered a "thank you" before drinking it and looking at the screen again.
"detective, if you aren't feeling well you can go home and rest, I can work alone on this, plus, a good rest is essential when you want to achieve something"
You nodded and started to get up and gather your belongings when he stopped you in your track.
"wait I actually have a question before you go detective"
"yes what is it?"
No one spoke for like 5 minutes, he seemed to think before he was gonna ask what he wanted.
"don't you find it weird?"
"what?"
"that the couple was a human and an android?"
You thought a little about it, yeah it was a bit odd because androids didn't got their rights long time ago and still are scared or angry over humans for their loss, same for the other side, but they are exceptions after all.
"well laws are a bit weird recently but nothing state they couldn't be together"
Nines led spinned red and yellow, you looked at him when it hit you.
"you think they got killed because they loved each other?"
"that's a possibility, since the revolution, many people are still hostile on both side"
"yeah.. We should check the road cameras, maybe we could track a vehicle going in this area at the presumed death hour "
"that was what I was thinking, good conclusion detective"
You smiled and rushed a bit to him, he was still on the chair from earlier, you then kissed him on the forehead.
"you are a genius nines! We finally have a lead! I'm gonna send a message to hank and Gavin, I'm gonna go home now, see ya!"
Some blue tinted the android cheeks, he looked at you leaving the pretinct and touched his forehead where you kissed him, a warning going in front of his eyes.
Software instability ⬆️
He texted connor with his system and waited for his response.
"connor what is love?"

Writing Prompt from this list, #81. “We’re in the middle of a thunderstorm and you want to stop and feel the rain?” requested by @irregularbee
-
Eddie's bouncing his leg furiously and a little mindlessly. He's aware that he's doing it but doesn't care to stop. He's full of energy that's just been building and building since Steve picked him up this morning. The sky is dark and the low rumble of thunder echoes. His fingers itch with the need to roll the window down to hear it louder.
"I told you we should have left an hour earlier," Steve says from the driver's seat in a mocking tone, misinterpreting Eddie's energy. Which Eddie can't blame him for. They don't hang out. At least, not just the two of them. When everyone gathers together, Steve and he are technically hanging out, even if all Steve does is watch him from afar with this Look he can't quite decipher and then spends all his time doing his best to avoid Eddie.
It's the strangest fucking thing. Dude drags his half-dead ass out of the Upside Down, making Eddie stay awake and swears he'll be fine and then seems to hate Eddie for having actually survived.
Fuck. That's not true. If Steve did hate Eddie, they wouldn't be here now, driving back from Indianapolis.
Eddie had got a call from the music shop up there; his guitar was in and ready to be picked up. Which was fuckin' weird because Eddie did not order, nor could he afford, a new guitar after the gate ripping through Hawkins had destroyed the trailer and his sweetheart along with it.
Anyway, he'd argued with the dude. No, I didn't order that. Send it back. Can't afford it.
The poor employee had gotten done with Eddie quickly, saying 'The guitar is paid for!! I don't care who paid for it, but it's done, and we were told to call an Eddie Munson at this number and let him know. Either pick it up by end of the week, or I'm gonna take it home!' before hanging up on Eddie.
And well. Free guitar.
He'd actually asked Nancy to drive him because his van was still in the shop (some asshole had found where he'd abandoned it and went to town. Eddie's afraid to hear how much it's gonna cost to fix his van up). Nancy had said she was busy and called Steve over.
"Steve, Eddie needs a ride to Indianapolis tomorrow. You available?" she plastered a smile onto her face while staring Steve down. The two seem to have an entire conversation with just their eyes and the tilting of their heads before Steve's face had turned red (probably pissed at Nancy) and he let out a defeated sigh.
"Yeah. I'll pick you up early, Munson. Be up."
And now here they were. Eddie's beautiful new guitar, mysteriously paid for, along with a case, taking up the backseat of the BWM. Weird, tense energy in the car. Eddie's leg bouncing because the thunder is rolling, and he wants to feel the rain falling.
"I wasn't ready when you showed up at the ass crack of dawn, Stevie," Eddie says, finally responding to Steve's comment, turning to look at the side of Steve's stupid, handsome face.
"Ten AM is not the ass crack of dawn," Steve rolls his eyes. "I told you to be up early, which might I add, early is closer to seven AM than ten. But I knew that would actually be too early for you so I-"
Steve continues but Eddie tunes him out. He doesn't want a lecture. He's not one of the damn kids. Steve's not his mother. Eddie turns his face away to look out the passenger window as the storm breaks loose. The thunder rumbles loud and the rain drops heavy and Eddie watches as lightning flashes brightly. "Stop the car."
"-ould go to breakfast with me and- what?" Steve was apparently still talking. Had been in the middle of a sentence, but Eddie's not interested in whoever he'd been talking about having breakfast with.
"Stop the car. I need out. Wanna feel the rain," Eddie says, fingers tapping on his knees as his leg still bounces.
Steve gives him a quick sideways glance but doesn't look away from the road. “We’re in the middle of a thunderstorm and you want to stop and feel the rain?”
"Yes."
Steve huffs out a breath that could almost be a laugh (Eddie's certain is just another defeated sigh), but he does it. Flips the blinker on (even though there's not another car around for probably miles) and pulls of the side of the road. Flicks the hazards on after putting the car in park. "Alright then. Let's go play in the rain."
Eddie unbuckles and crawls from the car. He's wearing his leather jacket, so he quickly strips that off to the Metallica tank underneath.
The rain feels blessedly cool on his skin, and he can feel the rumble of the thunder in his chest. There's nothing but flat land between Hawkins and anywhere, really, so Eddie's got plenty of room to spread his arms and spin in the rain. It's windy enough the Eddie's hair whips around, and it doesn't take too long before he feels the bandana he'd had on get pulled from his head.
He stops spinning and has to take several seconds to make sure he's not going to stumble before he can look up and search for where the wind might have taken his bandana.
The last thing he expects to see is that Steve is already chasing it down. He didn't even hear Steve get out of the car. The wind whips the bandana up and swiftly changes direction to throw it back towards Steve. It's not aimed right at him, though, so he watches as Steve throws an arm out and lunges to the side, catching it out of the air by just his fingertips.
Steve turns to Eddie and sees him watching. Surprisingly, amazingly, Steve beams at him. A smile that Eddie doesn't think he's ever seen on Steve's face before, happy and a little proud. He thrusts the hand gripping the bandana into the air with a victory punch. "Caught it!"
Eddie can barely hear him over the storm and the blood pounding in his own ears. Steve is soaked, hair clinging to face, shirt sticking to his body, and looking so damn good with a smile on his face. Eddie stands frozen as Steve jogs up to him.
"Watched the wind rip this right off your head," Steve says, like Eddie hadn't been an active participant in the wind stealing his bandana. Steve doesn't offer him his bandana back, though. Just stands there, smile still on his face even as the rain slaps into it.
"Thanks, I guess," Eddie says, dumbly.
The smile leaves Steve's face slowly, like he's realizing something and doesn't like it. "Right." Lightning streaks across the sky, illuminating Steve's face brightly for just a second but it's enough for Eddie to see, like, really see, Steve.
He's got that Look on his face, but Eddie can see hurt laced under it this time and Eddie finally fucking sees.
Everything plays through his head again, as Eddie filters through it with a different understanding now; Steve's eyes always on him when he's near but not brave enough to approach. When Nancy volunteered Steve as today's driver, Steve wasn't angry, he was blushing. Steve wasn't mocking him about the time they left Hawkins this morning, he was teasing. Steve was laughing earlier, and he probably wasn't lecturing Eddie, either. More teasing.
Steve had pulled over to the side of the highway so Eddie could feel the rain on his skin and had said 'Let's go play in the rain'. Let's. As in, Steve had wanted to join him.
Holy. Fucking. Shit. Steve has a crush on him and has been being shy about it.
But now he's watching Steve retreat to his car, rejection lining the edges of his hunched shoulders. Because of course he'd think Eddie's rejected him. Eddie's been nothing but dismissive and distant all day. He'd already written Steve off, thinking he was an asshole and it's Eddie who's been the asshole.
"Wait!" Eddie shouts, because he needs Steve to stop walking away. It works. Steve does wait. Holy shit, Steve's got it so bad for him, doesn't he? Steve turns back around, and he just looks confused as Eddie closes the distance between them.
"Dude, I'm such an idiot," Eddie says and Steve snorts a laugh at his expense but that's fine. He offers up a hand to Steve, "Play in the rain with me, Steve."
Steve looks from the hand to Eddie's face and back before he reaches out and takes Eddie's hand.
Eddie uses his other hand to grasp Steve's other hand, the bandana squished between their palms, and spins, taking Steve with him. He's so got to apologize for being an asshole later.

Hello! Would it be possible to get some rockstar!joel and actrees!reader proposal/wedding stuff? Absolutely in loveee with the story!!
Yesssss!! I’m so excited to write this!! Thank you for the request 🫶
I Want To Marry You
Pairing: rockstar!joel x actress!reader
Author’s note: Dedicated to everyone who ever loved me enough to try again. Let’s get coffee sometime.
Summary: Joel asks you The Question [3.3k]
Warnings: mentions of anxiety, family fluff, things coming full circle, oh god I love them
Joel's been acting weird the past few days. You're not in a fight. You're between projects right now, and he's always plunking music in the home studio. Everybody's healthy and happy. You can't pinpoint exactly why he's being jumpy or disappearing into the garage to take phone calls, but you trust him to tell you if something's happening. Still, it throws you off.
When you tell Carolina about it, she reassures you it's probably nothing. "Maybe he's going to surprise you with a romantic getaway or something like that." She suggests, and you laugh as you fiddle with Daisy's collar. She also seemed to sense the shift in the house because she's gotten especially clingy recently.
"You have kids. You know how hard it is to get away." You say, shaking your head.
"Yeah, but my kids are seven and three. Not seventeen and twenty-one."
"Still! Ellie's in school, and even though Sarah has her own apartment now, I don't like going super far in case she needs one of us. That's why we stagger our schedules like we do."
"Did your mom worry about you this much when you were twenty-one?" She asks. You laugh because she knows the answer. She knew what you were like in your early twenties, and somebody definitely should've been worrying about you.
"My mom didn't even know what borough I lived in at twenty-one." You say. "It's not a bad thing to want to be close. Do you remember when I dropped a plate and cut my foot open on the broken glass and had to take a cab to the hospital?"
"God, don't remind me." She shudders. Carolina had come home to find your tiny apartment in Hell's Kitchen empty and covered in blood. For exactly twenty seconds, she believed you'd be axe-murdered and dragged away by the killer until you called her and told her what happened, resulting in a ten-minute-long conversation about how many people in Manhattan realistically own axes.
"All I'm saying is I don't want Sarah to be bleeding out in the back of a stranger's car if Joel or I can be there instead."
"You worry too much." She says. "But, then again, all the best moms do."
"Not their mom." You say quickly as if she’d thrown you a ticking bomb and you’re trying to pass it right back to her.
"Yeah, but you're the closest thing they have to one."
"That's true, but I don't want to put that kind of pressure on the girls. They shouldn't have to call me anything they don't want to, and I'm not going to replace their moms."
"Of course not, honey, and nobody would accuse you of doing that, but you'd be lying to yourself if you said you didn't love those girls like they're your own."
"I know." You sigh. "I just worry."
"I know you do." She says. Carolina has been there for all your worrying over the years. Worrying about how you were gonna pay rent, when your next job would come in, and whatever stupid boy you were seeing at the moment. She knows how to calm you down and take your mind off things. "Why don't you get out of the little worry hole you've dug yourself into and come with me and the girls to get our nails done? It'll be fun, and you'll get to hang out with your goddaughters."
"When?"
"Tomorrow?" She says, and you mentally flip through your calendar.
"I think I can do tomorrow. Send me a time and place, and I'll be there." You say as the front door opens and closes. You furrow your brows and walk to the top of the stairs to see what's happening. A smiley face greets you with a wave, and you hurriedly hang up on Carolina.
"Sarah! What are you doing here, bug?" You ask as you rush down the stairs to hug her. Joel beams as he watches you embrace her for several long seconds, not pulling away until she does.
"Just missed y'all." She mumbles into your shoulder, and you kiss her temple. She's twenty minutes up the road, but it feels like a lifetime away.
"Sarah!" Ellie yells and joins in on your hug without hesitation. The three of you dissolve into a fit of giggles, and Joel just stands there, watching the madness unfold. Joel has never been good at hiding his emotions, and you've always been good at reading him like a book. The look he gives you and the girls is full of love and pride and something deeper, something more meaningful. You raise an arm to pull him into the group hug, and he pretends to be annoyed, but he snuggles in with the three of you, kissing each of your foreheads.
You spend the night making dinner and chocolate chip cookies with the girls and Joel (and Daisy ever so graciously cleaning up the remnants of a food fight Joel started) before curling up on the couch with them and watching a movie. It's just like every other time you've sat and watched whatever movie the girls have been dying to see, but as you rest against Joel's chest, something pricks in your brain. This feels different. He feels different. His hands run a nervous course from your shoulder to your wrist, and his head occasionally dips to kiss at the juncture of your neck. It's like he can't sit still.
"You okay?" You whisper, glancing at him. He gives you a confused look but nods anyway.
"Why wouldn't I be?"
"I don't know. I'm probably just anxious for no reason." You shrug. He pulls you close and kisses your temple, keeping you close as the movie continues. At the end of the night, Joel carries both the girls to bed even though he's forty-three and could've let them sleep on the couch. You didn't tell him this, of course, because who are you to pull him back from Dad Mode? So, you cautiously walk in front of him, kicking stray clothes or backpacks out of the way so he doesn't trip. Once Sarah and Ellie are safely tucked into bed, Joel scoops you up by your waist and throws you over his shoulder to carry you into your shared bedroom.
You laugh the whole way in, and when he plops you down on the bed, you wrap your legs around his waist and keep him close. Your fingers reach up to tug the necklace out from under his shirt collar and play with the pendant as he stares at you.
"What're you thinking about?" You ask.
"Thinking bout us." He says, and you raise your eyebrows at him.
"Oh, do tell."
"We've been together a long time."
"Sick of me already?" You ask, making him laugh, but he shakes his head and kisses you, traces of chocolate and cinnamon lingering on his lips.
"Never." He says. "I was just thinkin' bout it." Technically, it's true. You guys have been together for a while. This year, it'll almost be four years since you walked into that office in Beverly Hills and met him. You remember thinking you would finish out the contract and never see him again. Little did you know Joel Miller would become the man making you dinner most nights and carrying you off to bed. Or that he'd throw you the best thirtieth birthday party in the history of birthday parties. Or that you'd move in with him and his daughters. Or that you'd love him more than you've ever loved anyone.
"It's weird to think I went so long without knowing you." You mumble, your hold on him tightening like you're scared he'll fade away if you don't cling to him. He rests his forehead against yours, sensing your anxiety spiking, and you're overwhelmed by him. Your legs are still locked around his waist, and your chests are touching, the points of contact sending little butterflies fluttering through your veins. You can't see, taste, feel, or smell anything that isn't Joel.
"'M not goin' anywhere." He says, and you nod. "Ever."
"I'm gonna hold you to that, Miller." You joke, trying to ease your brain out of your spiraling and lighten the air between you two. He laughs, and the room brightens as he does.
"Do your worst, darlin'."
When you wake up the next morning, Joel isn't there. You reach for him and find a piece of paper on his cold pillow. How long has he been gone? How the fuck did you sleep through him rolling out of your arms? You squint in the early morning sun as you read the note.
You sigh and grumble into your pillow. What kind of psychopath runs errands at nine in the morning? The kind of psychopath you love, that's who. You lay in the too-big bed for a few more minutes before finally getting up and checking your phone. Carolina has texted you with the address of a nail salon and told you to meet her at eleven, but other than that, your phone is radio silent. Not that you're complaining, but normally you're bombarded with notifications from when you wake up to when you go to bed. It's nice, if not a little unnerving, to not have five million people to respond to the first thing in the morning.
When you walk downstairs, you expect to see Sarah and Ellie sitting at the table and eating, but no one's there. You call for the girls, but the only person who responds is Daisy, who dances in front of you. You crouch down to pet her and give her good morning kisses. "Just us today, huh?" You ask, a little sad, but nobody is more excited about one-on-one time quite like Daisy Mae. You give Daisy breakfast before letting her run around the backyard and making yourself something to eat.
You scroll aimlessly through your phone until it's time to leave and meet Carolina and the girls at the nail salon. Elizabeth and Victoria launch themselves at you the second they catch sight of you, and you spend the better half of your appointment with a child on your lap and listening to the latest drama from Elizabeth's first-grade classroom. You have the girls help pick out what color to paint your nails, and they each land on a pretty ballet slipper pink. "Good taste, guys," you praise as you show the nail technician what color you want. "Just like your mama, huh?"
"I mean, I wasn't gonna say it," Carolina says, and you laugh. Caro, like usual, is right about needing to take some time for yourself to stop worrying. You can actually relax in the big, plush chairs and talk to the girls like nothing could be more important than what they had for breakfast. Carolina hugs you tighter than normal at the end of your appointment and says she'll see you later before ushering the girls into their car seats. You barely have time to react before she's driving away like nothing happened.
Did you make plans with her and forget about them? It's happened before, so you wouldn't be overly surprised if it happened again. But if that's the case, why didn't she say anything? You shake your head as if it'll shake out all your racing thoughts and get in your car to drive home. When you pull into the driveway, everyone's cars are back where they belong, and you selfishly get really excited about seeing them. Except, the exact second you step through the door, Joel is putting Daisy's harness on her and has his running shoes on.
"Where are you going?" You ask, your mood dropping at seeing him ready to leave again. He looks up and smiles despite the pout on your lips.
"There you are! We were waiting on you so we could take Daisy for a walk." He says, breathless as he wrestles with your pitbull. You look past Joel and see Sarah and Ellie standing there with shoes and sunglasses on.
"We really need four people for a dog walk?"
"I wanted to show the girls the new route along the beach we found." He says. "Is that okay?" You nod.
"We just might look crazy, but, of course! Let me change my shoes!" You call as you take the stairs two at a time to get up to your bedroom. You decide to wear the pink tennis shoes to match your cute pink nails before ambling back downstairs and walking out the door. When you first rescued Daisy, she didn't let anyone but you hold her leash. However, after years spent with Joel and the girls, she can be walked by just about anyone as long as you're there. She's as much of your comfort dog as you are her comfort person.
Taking your hand in his, Joel walks Daisy with the other and swings your hands through the air as Sarah and Ellie walk behind you. It's a little silly, but you'll take all the affection after waking up without anyone else in the house. Slowly, the five of you make your way toward the sound of the crashing waves and the smell of salt in the air. The cliffs hang ominously above the empty beach and boardwalks, but you love it. You once told Joel when you walk out this far, it feels like you're the only person around. Something about being near the water makes you feel even better. A pop of color near the sidewalk catches your attention, and you break off from your little ragtag group to see what it is.
"Joel, come look at this." You say, leaning over the rope to look down at the wildflowers dancing on the cliffside. It's gorgeous, and the wind perfectly balances the blistering hot day, but he doesn't immediately appear at your side like he normally would. You furrow your brows and turn to see him down on one knee with a ring in his hand. Your breath catches in your throat, and you immediately cover your mouth with your hand. Joel smiles with watery eyes as he reaches for the other and pulls you close to him.
"Did you know about this?" You look past Joel to see Ellie and Sarah standing there, Daisy's leash wrapped around Ellie's wrist as Sarah records on her phone, and they laugh. Their smiles and teary eyes are all the confirmation you need, and you look back down at Joel. "Is this why you've been acting so weird?" You ask, and he laughs.
"Yeah, this is why I've been actin' so weird," he says. His Adam's apple bobs as he says your name and your legs shake under you. "I love you, and I fall more in love with you every single day. There's not a single moment I've spent with you where I've not wondered what the fuck you see in me." He's crying now, but you can't stop the laughter from bubbling out from your chest. He squeezes your hand and takes a deep breath before continuing. "And you don't just love me, but you love my girls. You make them feel safe and cared for. You've given them somethin' I've been tryin' and failin' to give them for years, and I will spend the rest of my days tryna repay you for that."
"Will you marry me?" He finally asks, and you sniffle. Tears stain everyone's face, and even Daisy is crying next to Ellie, and you'd laugh if you could see past the tears in your eyes. You nod and drop to your knees with Joel.
"Yes." You say as you grab his face and kiss him. "Yes. Yes. Yes. Of course, I'll marry you." You repeat over and over again as his arms lock around your waist. Sarah and Ellie cheer, suddenly no longer annoyed at your PDA, and you smile against Joel's lips. He adjusts his hold on you to give you a good look at the ring for the first time, and all your breath leaves you in a huff. It's gorgeous. A simple oval-shaped diamond on a gold band with an engraving on the inside.
"What does this say?" You ask, and he smiles as he holds it so you can read it. You immediately start crying when you read and realize what it means. He wrote inside your engagement ring, "And one day, we'll get coffee & try again." You said it to him before you left for Ireland when your heart was broken, and you didn't know the future could ever be this soft. He slips it onto your left ring finger and gathers you in his arms, both of you still on the ground and crying like crazy people. You don't care. You hold him so tight you almost miss him whispering into your skin.
"Thank you for trying again with me." He says. Ellie, Sarah, and Daisy join in on your crying in the middle of the sidewalk huddle, and you're completely surrounded by love. After a few minutes, you calm down enough to stand and kiss Joel again, making people cheer from the beach below. When you look over the rope, down to where the wildflowers are, you can see a group of your favorite people on the beach. They must've been hidden until Joel could propose, and now they're all making their joy well known with hoots and hollers.
Joel holds your hand as the girls lead the way down to the beach, where there's a makeshift bar and picnic set up with a giant banner reading "CONGRATULATIONS" with a little ring in the middle. "This is what the errands were this morning," Joel tells you quietly, and you smile.
"You're pretty good at keeping secrets, Miller."
"Not really. Everyone here knew I was proposing before you did," he says, and you laugh. "Besides, I'd watch it with the Miller thing considering you're becomin' one."
"I guess that's true." You sigh happily as Ryan ambushes you, picking you up in his arms and spinning you around. You squeal until he puts you back down and immediately demands to see your ring. Carolina comes up behind him as you show him, her eyes popping out of her head at the sight.
"Damn, Joel!" She exclaims, and Joel laughs.
"Only the best for my bride." He says. My bride. It rings in your head like a bell, echoing through your mind like gospel. You look around at the faces of everyone you've ever loved. Your manager, Sierra, and her partner, Bianca, are talking with Lili and Peter. Sarah and Ellie are running up and down the beach with Daisy, Elizabeth, and Victoria, struggling to keep up. Hank and Lucia patiently wait their turn at the bar next to Tommy and Maria. Your beauty team, Alexa and Jenna, laugh together as they talk to a handful of other costars they've also worked with. The beach is crawling with family, both of origin and found, and you wouldn't want it any other way.
As you make your rounds with Joel on your arm, showing off your ring and trying not to cry as people tell you how happy they are for you, you wish you could show your past self this moment. The girl who packed up all her shit and moved across the world after breaking up with the love of her life. The girl who spent countless nights crying herself to sleep and going to therapy and trying to create a better life for herself. The girl who almost backed out of a coffee date three years ago because she was so scared the man on the other side of the table wouldn't like what he found. You wish she could see this and know she did the right thing. You wish she knew things ended up okay. You wish she knew she got to try again, and it changed her entire life. Wherever she is, you hope she knows she did good.
"What're you thinkin' bout?" Joel whispers in your ear as he hands you a glass of champagne. You smile and shake your head.
"Just… someone I used to know."

3.102 Negotiations
I thought about the whole money tree argument all night, and while I understood Sophia's concerns, it still didn't sit well with me. Dub's words from his note echoed in my head. "Financial freedom to pursue your dreams," he said. I knew she preferred to live a simple life, but didn't she have bigger dreams than just being married to me and raising our children? I heard the TV on, so I got up to address the topic again. My goal wasn't to change her mind—though I hoped she would—but to present my case coherently. I was blinded by the simoleons I didn't even have yet and failed to put a counteroffer on the table. If she could hear my thoughts, maybe she could see it in a different light.
"Good morning," I said.
"Have you ever seen this show? It's so fun!"
"Uhh...no. Can we talk?"
"Of course," she said, turning off the TV. "What's on your mind so early?"
"I want to revisit the money tree situation."
"Okay. Sure."
"You presented your reasons for limiting its use, but I don't think I did a good job explaining why I think we shouldn't, and I'd like you to hear what I think."
"Okay," she said slowly. "So, what's up?"
"You said it would be an insult to return the gift, but I think it would be an insult to ignore Dub's wishes."
Her eyebrow went up a little bit, but she was still tracking with me, so I went on.
"I understand your hesitation, but we don't have to let the money change anything about us. We can be ourselves, but with peace of mind and more opportunities. I think maybe your childhood is influencing how you're seeing this, but so is mine. I'm gonna tell you a different part of my story so you can see where I'm coming from."
"Sure."
"Okay..."
I took a deep breath and hoped my story would work some magic.
"You've been around my parents enough to know my mom is the one with the money."
"Yeah. That's obvious."
"Right. She spoiled us...she still does, heh. But we weren't spoiled brats. We had everything we needed, and a few things we wanted, but we didn't live extravagantly. We went to public school, wore regular clothes, and lived in a middle class neighborhood. For a long time, my mom had an office job. And even now, she still works her candle business. We weren't rich by any means. We were comfortable. I know this because when we went to my dad's house, it was not comfortable. He came home tired every day and didn't have the energy to spend time with us. He never took us anywhere, and there was nothing to do at his house-"
"But that's not what-"
"Wait. Let me finish. I haven't made my point yet."
"Okay. Sorry."
"My grandparents bought my mom a little house and gave her a chunk of money when she moved out so she could have peace of mind and time to explore the world and figure out what she wanted to do without the pressure of bills and working a job she hated."
Sophia nodded and smiled, giving me hope that my story already inspired her to change her mind.
"When we moved out, she did the same thing for us…except for the house, of course. It wasn't a ton of money, but I could have gotten a cheap apartment if I wanted to."
"Or a tiny house," she said, gesturing vaguely.
"Ha! Yeah, I could have afforded this. She's still taking care of us. I keep telling her she doesn't need to keep doing things for us, but all she says is when I have a child, I'll understand."
Sophia nodded.
"Yeah...I remember hearing her say that in Tartosa."
"Yeah... I may not have a child yet, but I do want to give it every opportunity I had and then some. I don't want it to worry and feel how we felt at my dad's house."
"I get that. I don't want that either."
"And what you said about your parents. They were older when they adopted you because it took forever to save the money. If we want to send off our children with a little something, we have to start saving now. We can't wait until a week before they're gone to start harvesting the tree. Maybe we don't take from it every day. Maybe just once or twice a week, or whenever we think about it. But just leaving the tree alone until we need it? That's not gonna give our children the kind of future I want them to have. I want to continue what my grandparents started. I don't think we should waste this opportunity."
She sat there, nodding and staring at me like she didn't realize I was done. But then she turned away, stared at the floor, and sighed.
"Wow... Your family history is filled with so much love and support."
I grabbed her hands, hoping to seal the deal and provide a little comfort.
"Yes. And you're part of that family now. I just want to continue the cycle. That's all. I don't want to start wearing labels and buy a big house in Del Sol. I just want to spend time with my family without consequence."
"I can't argue with that. I'm still not letting you give up on yoga, though."
I laughed. "I didn't expect you would."
"And to be clear," I continued, "I'm not gonna give up. I just don't want to be in a position where I'm still hustling and missing everything going on at home. You'll be here, so I know everything will be fine, but I want to be here too. I want our children to have all the benefits of living in a two-parent house."
"That's beautiful, Luca. I see the whole picture now. I've just decided I'm definitely not to going back to work."
I beamed at her.
"Really?? That's awesome! I love that for you."
"So, what do you think you'll do?"
"I don't know yet. I don't want to give up on teaching just yet, but I'll probably spend more time on SimTube. I have time to figure it out, though. Speaking of the hustle...I gotta go. I love you, Sophia. I love our life, and I can't wait to see how it turns out."
"I love you more!"

professional help, c10. Kidnapped
simon riley x original character.
trigger warnings: violence, sexual assault, mentions of rape, trauma, sexual themes, swearing, use of alcohol and drugs.
song to listen to when reading this: Come a little closer, Cage the elephant.
abstract: hey this is Jude. you doing alright? you'd never guess who I saw! anyways, I'm almost content in this chapter and then I'm angry again. I've been angry my whole life guys I swear. also, had a special someone with me that night, can you guess who my passenger princess was?
She chuckled when he left the room. Skeleton mask, skeleton gloves, hell he probably had skeleton fucking underwear on. It seemed so out of character for him to be this nice to come all the way to her office and talk to her. He did seem a tiny bit uncomfortable, maybe he wasn't the best at social interactions. He had woke up happy and decided to be a decent human being for once. She didn't trust that his intentions were pure. Maybe he wanted her to speak about it cause he already heard from his friends and wanted the full version. You really want to know Simon, I'll send you the security cameras footage via email, that'll hunt you for a lifetime.
She had a busy day and had to stop thinking about their interaction for a few hours. She was in such a good mood she even had lunch, alone in her office, but still. Her thoughts kept wondering to the Lieutenant, his blue jacket and his thick arms, she had to compose herself when Sergeant Raul, her last patient of the day, had a panic attack in front of her. She got home late, exhausted. She went on a night walk with Jinx, cooked dinner and sat down at her table, her violent grinder and little jar with weed in front of her. She had some reports to finish, she had another two Nutcracker songs to choreograph. Her eyes lingered on 'The Pilgrimage' which she kept as a souvenir from her Sherlock CIA experience with the Arash case. She fished out a lighter from her bag and opened the book in front of her. She liked reading it, she enjoyed it. She had never been much of a religious person, though she was raised catholic. She respected the idea of faith, how it guided people, how it made them feel less alone. She had a thought. A tiny one. A sneaky suspicion. The little urge to lurk. It was a little lightbulb moment, a cinematic sequence in which the music stopped and then violins started playing as she began to think. Her rollie in one hand, the book in the other, she looked at her dog, smell of weed all around her. The poor thing was asleep on the couch, blissfully unaware. When she reached for her laptop to do some research, she knew she was gonna find something.
Two days later she was still debating on telling Price. She really didn't want to bother Laswell, poor woman didn't need more work. They were going to leave in 4 days. She decided she'd tell the first person she would see. It would be the universe to decide. Her office was at the opposite area from Price's so she had slim chances of telling anyone. It wasn't her mission, it wasn't her job, it wasn't her place. She was overstepping.
'Fuck', she said to herself, when she saw the Lieutenant in the parking lot. She froze, foot on the brakes. That's it, it's the universe's choice, you have to tell him. He's gonna kill you. He was smoking. His mask was slightly raised on his nose, exposing his mouth. Not that she could see anything, he was way too far and she was short sighted. Did he ever leave that mask home? He had a vest on, a light blue sherpa jacket that looked extremely comfortable. She looked at his cigarette, he had less than half of it left. Four drags maximum. Just tell him for fuck's sake, it's for the greater good and it’s a fucking good theory. He was almost finished. She slowly came to a stop in front of him and rolled down her window.
The world was silent around them. The sun was setting, the air was crisp. He had noticed the car, he remember it was the same model as hers. He didn't think she would stop. What she said next made his heart skip a beat. 'Hop in? I need to talk to you'. Her eyes were even a prettier colour in this light. They looked translucent. Her skin was shining and golden under the sunlight. 'Can it wait?' He tried to avoid getting in the car with her. Deeply unprofessional. Where did she want to take him anyway, couldn't they talk in his office? What was it she wanted to tell him? 'I'll take you back here when we're done, just a little ride’. She wasn't giving up. Am I being fucking kidnapped by you, Jude? Most guys wouldn't really complain to be honest, but still… He reluctantly sat in the passenger seat, having to adjust his seat to accommodate for his size. The lack of control he had in the situation made him uncomfortable, his fingers tingling with excitement and a slight bit of panic. But this girl… this girl, her presence was just weirdly irresistible. He wanted to know what she wanted to say, every little detail, every hint to who she truly was. He craved that. She slowly took off. She seemed a good driver, she kept her speed stable. 'What is it?' he asked impatient to know why he was being kidnapped. 'So, I kept thinking about what you said about Khorram, that he's hidden somewhere.' She glanced at him while she talked, maintaining her eyes on the road ahead. 'I thought about The Pilgrimage, the book. It's the three stages that I thought about, you know, the Jordan River was the first. Then the middle of the desert, then the Persian Gulf.'
He had to know she was coming up with another theory of hers. He started to get tense. He was getting tired to ear about this, she really had to let this go, it wasn't her place to be talking about it, all these speculations... This was war, people were getting killed everyday by this man and she was here playing detectives. 'I don't think you should keep working on this Jude. It's not your job', he said in the most assertive tone he could manage. She licked her lips, they were entering the city. She sighed, 'I know, I'm just suggesting', she insisted, but he cut her off. 'It's not your place.' He stated. He wasn't afraid to be rough with her or sound disrespectful. She was driving through a bit of traffic, she change gears swiftly and still managed to wave her hand in the air while she talked. 'I know! Since you guys didn't have a clue what you were doing the last time…' he interrupted her again, 'Doesn't mean you're right this time'. She scoffed and slightly raised her tone, visibly annoyed. 'You didn't even fucking let me finish, you don't know what I was about to say!' He caught a glimpse of her eyes, they looked darker. She had the same expression she always had. She looked like she was going to cast a spell on him and turn him into a chair. She must have always won every single argument in her life. Not with him, not with that attitude. 'I don't want to hear it, I can't make my soldiers do things and go places because you read a fucking book, Jude.' If she thought she could win this, she was seriously delusional. 'I read the fucking book that made you not die last week, Simon!' She raised her voice again, turning to face him. Hearing his name escape her lips made him feel weird. It was unusual to hear his name. Ghost, L.t, he had a few nicknames. Only Price called him Simon. He thought about whether she even knew he was Ghost to the others. Simon. It sounded different. It sounded warmer, it sounded pretty. She sang his name. It sounded like it belonged in the phrase Do you want to try that new restaurant with me, Simon, or There's a song I want you to listen, Simon, or Want to take a walk with me, Simon? It sounded like it belonged to a nice, handsome and normal guy, which he wasn't.
'Merda. Oh, merda.' He didn't realise she wasn't looking at him anymore. She had stopped the car, was she going to abandon him on the side of the road? They had stopped in front of a closed building, a few cars parked in the front. The woman next to him had a confused look on her face, which quickly shifted to panic. There was a girl in front of one of the cars. She was alone and she had a bag on her shoulder. Jude pulled the handbrake and got out of the car, walking towards the girl. She must have been 14. He got out of the car, but didn't approach them. He looked at Jude take the girl's hands in her own and talk to her. He couldn't really hear what they were saying, but the little girl was sniffling. She had been crying. 'Oh god', whispered Jude as she hugged the girl, scrunching down. He watcher her hand caress the girl's hair. Why was everything so complicated and bloody mysterious when it came to this girl? He looked at Jude taking the little girl's hand and taking her to the car. He probably looked scary with his skull printed balaclava on. 'Get in Gemma, I'll drive you home okay?' She said, seating down. 'Gemma this is my friend, Simon. Simon this is one of my students, Gemma.'
Jude was perfectly calm now, the little girl sitting in the back of the car. Her eyes were dark, she was driving much slower now, more carefully. She was mad. For what? What do you mean students? He had so many questions he couldn't process to say hi to the girl. Jude kept glancing in the review mirror to make sure Gemma was okay in the back. 'You like the choreography so far?' she asked. She danced? 'Yes, really much' Gemma answered 'I like when we do the circle. With the tour jetés' she said. Jude smiled 'Yeah I like that part too'. She was driving in a residential area more far away from the city centre, but they were getting closer to the road that would take them into the desert. 'Was it this one or the next Gemma?' she was slowing down. 'The next one' said the girl quietly. 'I'll talk to your mom okay?' She said while getting out of the car. She quickly turned towards him, her look apologetic 'I'm sorry, I'll explain. Just a second.' She felt bad for making him wait, it was very unprofessional of her, but it was an emergency and he just happened to be there. At least they stopped fighting. She explained to Gemma's mother that she was driving past the school when she saw her standing outside. The school was open when they arrived, it had closed 5 minutes after she had left. The girls had told Gemma about an extra lesson just for the 5 top students of the class and Gemma had asked her mom to take her. She said she was furious with the others and would talk to them and possibly even prevent some to dance at the final performance. She apologised to Gemma for having to wait outside because of that stupid joke and hugged her one more time, before making her way to the car. Furious was an understatement. How could they be so fucking mean? So so so stupid... She sighed while getting back into the car.
'I'm sorry, I'll take you back. Sorry. Sorry.' She quickly reversed and took off in the direction of the desert. 'Everything okay?' He decided to speak since she was gripping the steering wheel with her knuckles turning white. She waited a second before replying. 'I teach ballet. The other girls told her we had lesson when we didn't, she was the only one who showed up. The school is closed, it's dark out she could have been kidnapped', she said all in one breath. She was shaking her head, how fucking horrifying and dangerous was it to be left alone in the middle of nowhere as a 14 year old girl. Thank God she saw her, poor Gemma. She wasn't blaming her mom, the school was probably still open when they arrived and closed soon after. They were approaching the base in silence, she stopped near the entrance to let him go inside. She kept muttering words in Italian, she was biting her nails nervously. 'Che stronze. Come si fa…assurdo. Troppe poche botte da piccole.' She turned towards him before he had a chance to open the door. 'I'm very sorry you had to witness that, I truly am.' She blinked a few times trying to hide her embarrassment. She messed up all her chances to get him to listen to what she had found now. 'It's fine' he said. His voice was soft. He probably understood that she really couldn't leave the girl there alone, but still. His hand was on the door handle but he wouldn't open the door yet. 'Okay… I'm sorry either way I shouldn't have… done all this.' She was panicking a little at this point. 'Jude it's fine, seriously.' He finally opened the door and got out of the car 'Go home.' He stated before turning away and entering the base.
She went home. She facetimed Salvo and told him about the situation to rant a little bit. She didn't mentioned who she was with, cause it embarrassed her. Cause picking him up was the stupidest idea of her life. She was so fucking mad at the girls she thought about a million fucking different ways to find out who was responsible and make them pay. God, I sound like my mother. Which is very bad, considering what she does for a living…
notes: oh god, what does her mother do then? translation: 'those bitches. how is this possible… incredible. didn't get hit hard enough as kids.' don't hit your kids, violence is bad. also is bullying. I am getting really good results at uni guys!! I'm gonna post the next preview as well cause I'm gonna be studying a lot again, and working and you know. figuring out how to be happy with my life I guess.
love, mare.

Twiceland has never been at rest since the incident, which has imprisoned the inhabitants inside their own nightmare. Every day, the people go about their lives feeling empty-handed and uneasy about potential threats that may arise at any time.
However, yesterday grew much worse, making it difficult for individuals to focus on what they do as they were all gathered about in their own homes, with the designated spectators keeping an eye out for the arrival of a group of people to whom they owe their lives the most.
They are the annihilators of their land, swore to protect and avenge those who are fallen and victimized, for the sake of the people and the nation's freedom. They are composed of eight warriors, all of them are female. Technically, they were nine of them, what happened to one of them will get to that later.
While the watcher is sipping tea and rolling the butt of his gun on the sandy ground, he saw some figures approaching from the shadows on the distance. He patted his fellow watcher who is sleeping and alerted him, pointing at those figures.
All of the watchers began directing their firearms at it until the familiar count of people made them slowly decrease in relief.
However, that doesn't mean that it was now assured that it was the annihilators who just arrived, because from the look of one of them, something happened really badly.
"QUICK! GET HER SOME AID!" The oldest of the group, Nayeon shouted at the officials as they all saw one of the members unconscious and being carried by her fellow member.
They all ran immediately to search for the rescuers. Placing down their comrade's damaged condition on the blanket, they all let out a huge sigh of defeat, exhausted from the life-threatening battle they just participated earlier.
"I can't believe it." Jihyo spoke first, shaking her head in disappointment. "She really did it. I never thought there would come a day where she would turn her back and forget everything we've done together for this land."
"From the look of her face earlier, it's not the Jeongyeon I've known before." Sana said, with a fear and shiver in her voice as she remember her contact with Jeongyeon during the battle. "It's completely different. Oozing with cruel and evil motivations is what fills her up inside now."
"I'm not gonna be shocked." Tzuyu reacted seriously. "Just look what she has done to Dahyun-unnie. Do you all really think that she's still the friend we knew? She would never dare to inflict pain to one of us in case it's needed for trainings. That, right there... is her pure intention."
"So what does this mean now?" Mina inquired. "Are we really going to view her now as our enemy? We're just gonna let her add more problems to us? Is it really over now to-"
"No." Chaeyoung stood up, staring at Mina then glares around at the rest of the members. "We're not going to let our eyes peeled off on unnie. Our target is still on the downfall of the Emperor. She's just a distraction."
"So what do you have in mind, Chaeng?" Momo asked, curious at what the younger is insisting for them to do.
"We continue on taking down the Dark Side while at the same time, we also try to distract Jeongyeon to not get involved too much at this chaos."
"How?" They all questioned.
Chaeyoung paused and lowered her head before exhaling and glanced at them with determination. "We have to find him. He's the only one who can manage her."
"But Chaeng, we don't even know where he's at now?"
"Only some of you, but not me." Chaeyoung stated. "I think it's time that get some back-up into this ongoing mess, but first we're going to prepare a lot of convincing."
-------------------
Miles away from their town, a certain person is training some children who are aspiring to be the future warriors of the sacred land. The kids were following every fighting moves and listens to his/her masterful advices he/she provides on the lessons in order to provide assistance for them.
During their break, the tutor was reorganizing the weapons they used when a villager called your name before barging in to the tent.
"What is it?" You asked without even looking at the guard.
"Master YN, I've come to inform you there are outsiders from another town who wants to see you."
"How many of them?"
"Four, sir."
"And what do they want?"
"I'm afraid they didn't mentioned-"
"Then I decline. Please, get them out of here." YN glanced at the guard, rotating your eyes on you while the latter saw cautious and well-aware you are of any possible danger these strangers might brought to you, but more importantly, to your people.
"But sir, one of them said you all know each other. And they have something very important to tell you."
You gave the guard another glance again, sensing that he's telling you that everything is going be fine with his communication at these mysterious people.
With all trust, you gave up and sighed. "Fine. I'll be out for a while."
You stepped outside and waved the tent's canvas to let it open. You were shown to be correct when bright lights suddenly blinded you for a brief period of time before gradually disappearing and making everything clearly visible once again. You were familiar with the individuals in front of you, and as was always the case, you felt compassion and never dread for them.
"Chaeyoung." You muttered as you stared at the smallest girl out of the four before looking also at the rest of them. "Girls? W-what are you doing here?"
"Long time no see, YN." Chaeyoung greeted him. "And we're here to talk with you in urgent."
------------------------------------ Many different types of spacecrafts were seen flying around outside the Star Destroyer, a moon-sized space station floating in space which is used as the ultimate destruction weapon of the Galactic Empire, a mighty military force influenced by the Dark Side of the Force.
This serves as the Imperial officers' headquarters as well, where they formulate plans and carry out the commands of the formidable and evil Emperor Jeonghan, the commander of the Knights of Doom, whose only goal is to subjugate new territories and destroy their enemies, the Jedi. Yoo Jeongyeon, the high ranked leader of the Sith and called as the Dark Lord of the Knights Of Doom , was inside the station polishing her bloodstained helmet before slamming it on an ovular tray filled with the ashes of the Empire's fallen victims. She recalled what she done to Dahyun as she looked in the mirror, realizing that she was the one who had injured her friend and former group member. She just followed through on her obligations, knowing that by doing so, she would gain the Dark Lord's complete trust and be granted her proper position within the organization. But when the soldiers told her that Emperor wanted to meet her, an anxious expression came to her face. The troops marched beside her as she went. As she continues walking in the path that would bring her and the Emperor of darkness to the same location, her heart begins to race.
They reached the door, the troopers escorted on opening it, and Jeongyeon was let to enter the room first. There, he saw Jeonghan eating at the head of the table.
"Come on, have a seat and eat." He invites Jeongyeon who kept on watching him just busily devouring his food.
She followed and eat, the helpers assisted her to eat comfortably before they left her alone with him.
It went for some few minutes of silence as they gave more time to satisfy their hunger before Jeonghan initiated the first move to start their conversation.
"The status report has reached to me that you were this close on your mission." Jeonghan said, gesturing the size of her chances of accomplishing that given mission she had to finish in success.
"But I'm afraid it didn't go well as expected."
Jeongyeon shuts her eyes and curses herself in disappointment and frustration. "I-it was them. They are becoming more aware now of our next move."
"I know." Jeonghan said. "And we both know it doesn't have to go that way further. We have to compromise a plan that they cannot avoid. It's their fate to die in defeat with our own hands, and soon we will rule the entire galaxy... together." He glared at Jeongyeon, she felt his sincerity and hoped that the day of that to happen will come by sooner.
"But I'm not here to express my letdown or disgrace what you've done. In fact, I should be rather... impressed."
Jeongyeon became confused, furrowing her eyebrows. "F-for what, sire?"
"You managed to disable one of them, am I right?" Jeonghan said, referring to what she did to Dahyun. Jeongyeon became guilty, her face became interestingly fell as she got reminded again of what she did to her former friend.
"Y-yes. She tried to defend a family against us. She got on my nerves and... I-"
"You don't need to explain, I know. Pests can be a lot irritating." Jeonghan calmed her down. "I congratulate you for not holding back on your desire, my Lord. You remained dedicated on the plan, on your mission. It didn't matter to me if you didn't completely made the mission done, atleast to me... learning that they suffer on our wrath and prove who is the bigger threat here is enough to me."
Jeonghan stands and walks towards Jeongyeon who is still unmoved and staring at her plate. He held her shoulders and gently squeezed it. "You can feel it now, don't you? Let it all in and control you, Jeongyeon. Soon, you'll finally become one of us and then... like I told you, everybody will respect and treat you highly unlike you've never seen before, and I will be there for you to provide all of it. Embrace the dark side."
He gave her few playful pats on her cheek before walking away, leaving Jeongyeon who shivered in her touch, speechless as she kept her composure despite being uncomfortable, resulting to develop a sudden longing sensation from somebody she knows who could do much better than what Jeongyeon is trying to make her prove.
---------------------------
"So, what do you want to talk about?" YN said after giving them food and water as his treat to his surprise guests.
All four of them looked at each other before Jihyo, the leader of the annihilators nodded at them in signal. "It's about Jeongyeon, YN."
You stared at her and escaped a bitter smile at the mention of the name before it vanished and went back on being serious. "What's with her?"
"She's now being controlled by the Dark Side, YN; and she is now following orders under Dark Lord Jeonghan." Nayeon reported. "She even hurt Dahyun during the battle."
"Wait what do you mean hurt?" It grabbed your attention. "How is Dahyun doing?"
"Still recovering from her wounds, but that huge slash that Jeongyeon did on the skin of her arm with her lightsaber might put her out of action once the troopers arrives again and try to destroy the town."
"YN, Twiceland is next. The previous town was badly damaged by them few days ago, and I suppose they are now coming for us in return for ruining their goal." Chaeyoung said to you.
YN wasn't shocked to hear any of this being caused by Jeongyeon, but rather you are heavily disheartened and dismayed at what she has become. You knew it already that her betrayal would go this way, but still you couldn't help yourself to put all the blame to yourself for what happened to her.
"You know, until now, I still feel like I didn't do better enough to be her friend, which I know all of us are definitely feeling the same but... the effect of that on me was worse because... you know what I mean, girls. She meant more to me already. I could've been there to observe closer and prevent Jeongyeon get abducted and be manipulated by the scheme of the Dark Side." You expressed your own fault at the girls as you remember how she started to slowly change whenever you talk to her, the lovely smile, her adorable laughs, the color in her mood were all gone. She became even more secretive on her own worries to you. You could've just done better for her, from what you believe in.
"We understand, YN. We all know we wanted to change and hope that all of these should've never occured but what else can we do? It's now here, and all we have to do is to face the consequences." Jihyo said. "But... this doesn't mean that time is already out for us to do something that will grant us... redemption."
"YN, we all know here that you are the one who is most capable of protecting and saving Jeongyeon." Chaeyoung said. "We have this feeling that even if she thinks that she already has found the place where she belongs, there's something that-"
"Icks us inside? Yeah, I've been having that, every single day." You admitted. "Last night, I woke up from a nightmare. She appeared in my dreams and it was very fast, but all I could witness is that she's in trouble."
"So you have it on your own too. Don't you think that... this could be a sign? That Jeongyeon isn't really going to receive the better treatment she seeks for?" Nayeon suggested. "And this is a right timing for us to come here and request if you could... join us for one last time?
You looked at all of them who has their eyes now glued on you as they wait on your response. "YN, we all want to do better, and this is this time that we make a move for it." Chaeyoung said. "This is not just an ordinary battle, but a bloody, horrific war once they step foot into our land. Everybody involved will not be assured of safety BUT, it's better to die trying than let them achieve control over the entire galaxy and watch millions of innocent people suffer in their reign."
"Jeongyeon is THE key here, YN. If they think they just took the biggest advantage for our downfall, they have to be proven wrong, and we cannot do that without you, YN."
Chaeyoung pleaded at you and gave you the exact encouragement you need in order to participate in this plan.
Your mind started to get occupied again with the thoughts of Jeongyeon as you watched the kids and the people just doing their business outside the camp from the plastic window.
"The real her is still there within her. I know it, I can feel it, and I couldn't wait anymore to see again that Jeongyeon that I once loved."
You turned at them which they are now standing on their seat.
"I'm going with you all. I will save her and bring her back to where she belongs. To us."
-------------------------
The following days, the group with YN now on their side tries to trespass into the Dark Side's base and steal the chip that contains the information and destroy the power core that activates the entire planet.
They went to proceed to the mission, but due to Sana's clumsiness of getting bumped with a trooper, they were accidentally discovered by them. YN was alone on doing his task when he heard the siren.
They got separated from each other and tries to find a way escape. YN ran as he tries to figure out the paths until you unexpectedly crossed paths with none other than Jeongyeon, now in his Dark Lord appearance. She is now wearing an all black hood with a tight fitted suit that accentuated her perfectly sculpted figure, her hair all sprayed down and her menacing helmet that hides her beautiful face.
Startled and tension arise between them as they finally met once again after a long time, YN stopped on her tracks as he finally comes face to face with the ghost of his past.
"J-Jeongyeon?"
"YN/LN. You are under arrest for trespassing and committing a crime of stealing a confidential information. Stay where you are and don't make any move."
You just stared at this... unknown figure in confusion. She doesn't sound like entirely at all like her. This is a complete different being. It's like a new evil persona was put into her to disguise and enslave her in order to make her fall in line with them.
"Stop acting like you don't know me, Jeongyeon. I know you in there!" You shouted. "I'm not going to follow or be intimidated to any of your orders. I came here with a sole purpose and nothing will do to stop me. And that is to put the Empire down!"
"If that is what you came for, then you just made the biggest mistake for costing your life." Jeongyeon takes out her red lightsaber and wielded it.
"Snap out of it, Jeongyeon! Please, can we just talk and listen to me? You have to take a closer look at the bigger picture here. Don't you see what you're doing? This isn't the Jeongyeon that... that I know." You stammered at the last words. Behind the mask, Jeongyeon felt like her heart was tugged on it's string with your acknowledgement of witnessing her unwanted transformation.
"Don't try anything stubborn that might get us in the hard way here, YN." She tried not to listen. You sighed and shook your head. You released your blue lightsaber and wielded it.
"I don't want to hurt you, Jeong. Please. Don't make me do this."
Jeongyeon was certain of her decision, so she sprang and lunged at you, threatening to slam the lightsaber in your face, but you deflected her attack by protecting yourself. After that, you two clashed in a lightsaber combat in which she tried to strike and you just let her, being care to defend yourself. Since you are aware that you are unable to truly harm the lady you love the most, you were speaking the truth when you said that you didn't want to hurt her.
Jeongyeon uses her force but you countered it, forming your hands and clenching all your finger tips as you aimed it on her, making each of you to be tangled within each other's force field. A tug of war of your own powers, none of the sides wants to give up.
Both of you screamed in rage before the force field went stronger that results to the two of you getting flung away in the away, crashing to the metal bridge painfully. Just as when YN was about to stand up, you were surprised by the arrest of the troopers as they quickly grabbed your arms.
You tried to resist before your vision went dark.
------------------------------
As Emperor Jeonghan walks into the detention cell, he is pleased to discover YN still and handcuffed with high tech steel cuffs, having been brought in by Jeongyeon, who had captured you like a rat that had attempted to get into their territory. As this is going on, the group manages to escape and notifies the town to prepare for a fight. They are aware of the consequences now that awaits them as they were unable to recover the chip.
Back at the base, YN was brutally tortured by the troopers, hitting you with their space guns, turning you into a punching bag, and electrocuting you while you are hanging in the ceiling with your arms still tied.
It may not be seen in her face clearly because of her helmet, but Jeongyeon didn't lasted long to stand there, listen to your screams of despair and watch you get abused. She went outside of the room, halted in her steps, her breathing became ragged under the helmet as your shouts of desperation echoes in the background.
Jeongyeon on the other hand, was enjoying it and finds it hilarious to see the woman still have the soft spot for the man, encouraging him to do worst things possible for the man.
Hours later, YN was back in your consciousness and in your surprise, you find Jeongyeon treating all your wounds and bruises. This time, her helmet was off, and you can see her face again. She didn't changed at all. She may look like she became even more angsty and cold, but she was still gorgeous. In fact, she looks even more stunning than before, you never thought you would admire her a lot now with her new short black hairstyle.
"You're awake." She noticed before applying aid again on your bruise which made you hiss in pain. "Don't say I didn't warn you. You should've listen to me."
"I don't much care about it." You said. "They can torture me however they want, but my mind won't change. Soon, the empire will crumble and the Dark Side will end."
Jeongyeon smirked and mockingly pouted. "If you say so. Goodluck with that then. I'm telling you that it will hard."
"I know, but I'm here to try, and I'm not doing this only for the sake of Twiceland... but for you."
She looked at you, her face softened for a second before she switched back in her monotonous demeanor.
"I don't need your help, YN. I never asked for you anyway so just leave me alone."
"Jeongyeon, what has gotten to you?" You wondered. "That day. There's something wrong happened between you and the girls. I know because they mentioned to me about it, but they never got to expand the reason for me to understand it."
Jeongyeon stopped on what she's doing before she turned back and prepared the equipments. "Oh really? I thought they would make me sound like I'm the one who's being troublesome."
You squinted your eyes, suspicious of Jeongyeon's bitterness over the girls. "I don't really get what you're trying to say, Jeongyeon. But why? How can you do this to them?"
She slammed the kit on the table and sighed deeply, her anger starts to boil her blood but she tried to be calm, wanting to match your state. You were taken aback at her aggressiveness, and you just had to watch her take her time to control her emotions that you might've urged her to feel by revisiting the moment that led her departure and betrayal. "Fine, I did turned their backs on them. I didn't want to do it, but their constant mention of my disadvantages has what threw me into my breaking point."
She indicated that the actual cause of their altercation was a misunderstanding between her and Jihyo, the group leader, which made her feel disrespected and insulted, making her believe she was the weakest and least important member of the group. She was under a lot of stress and pressure at the moment trying to figure out how to meet their expectations. She had been feeling as like she didn't really belong in their group for a while until Jeonghan occurred to see her in a gathering talking about what had happened. As he learnt about Jeongyeon's situation, he offered her a help, promising that if she learns how is it like to stand in their side she would become more powerful and hold more purpose than she ever has in their group. She declined the offer at first, but then Jeonghan didn't gave up on her, still letting the offer stand. That thought had lingering around Jeongyeon's head for quite some time.
"Then that day arrived, when a battle emerged between the group and the Knights, I just suddenly snapped when Jihyo started to command me and...all I know after that was I threw her to the tree with my force field. I walked out with the group staring at me in utter confusion, letting them in grave danger as I joined the troopers." Jeongyeon continued as she stares at the wall, in terror as she lets the flashback run in her head. "I arrived at the base, Jeonghan welcomed me with open arms, and he started to do exactly what he promised for me, something that the group could never do to me."
"Yeah, and that is to manipulate and take you for granted." You glared at Jeongyeon who knitted her brows at your change in aura, twisting her words. "Whatever fight you two may had, I know they never intended to hurt your feelings and they just want the best for you."
"You don't know what you're talking about, YN." Jeongyeon said. "Don't sympathize for me."
"And why I shouldn't be? Jeongyeon, you're my friend and so as they."
"BECAUSE YOU WEREN'T THERE WHEN I NEEDED YOU!" Jeongyeon yelled at you, her eyes watery and reddened, both her face and fists clenched in anger and heartbreak as she got recalled again of that another memory. "YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT I'VE BEEN THROUGH!"
You stared at her, confused from the blame that was put to you by Jeongyeon. You can see how it hurted her badly and knowing that this time, you are responsible for making her feel like that made you instantly owe a sincere apology to her.
"I was at my low when I am having trouble on improving myself, I didn't want to talk to any of them at first, and so I remember that I had you." Jeongyeon started to cry between her words. "I had you, YN and I felt fine at first that I know I still have someone to share my problems and seek comfort but... when I started to look for you, you weren't there.
Every day I waited for you, hoping that atleast I could be happy being with you just like you always do whenever we're together but... why, out of all times, you suddenly disappeared when I needed you the most?
And now you here again, trying to understand a problem of mine that I already buried and wanting to save me when I don't need it anymore? Tell me, what else do I need to have from you?"
You stayed silent, now completely aware of the pain you inflicted on her. It was never intentional to hurt such a pure woman like her, you wanted to explain but you believed that there's something more important that has to be done first."
"I'm sorry, Jeongyeon... for all of that." You muttered. "I know I couldn't fix what I broken, but... I don't want to waste my purpose of putting myself in this situation, with you."
You reached for her hand laying on the vacant space of the bed beside you, Jeongyeon teared up more on your touch, she wanted to admit that she missed it a lot, but what you did would still take some time for her to process. "I'm going to make things right, Jeongyeon. I may have not showed up at the time when you needed my back, but believe me when I say that I never gave up on you."
Jeongyeon stared at you and gently shake her head before she used her force field to make you fall asleep. She emotionally watches you in your peaceful slumber, while thinking twice about his proposition as she remembers all the memories she shared once with the girls, especially Jihyo.
In order to put an end to this once and for all, the annihilators prepare Twiceland for the Knights' arrival during the ultimate battle. When they arrived, Dark Lord Jeongyeon led the troops' charge as they watched the battle unfold, with Emperor Jeonghan keeping watch from his position. The troopers started shooting every peasant and combatant they came across. Additionally, they started using their lasers to demolish the structures until the annihilators started taking out the adversaries one by one. Additional troops march from the ship while others use their spacecraft to take the fight into the air. They started shooting at anybody below, without really caring who they hit in the process.
Their attacks stopped when strange set of lights aligned from the dim distance until they were all startled when one of it fired a destroyer spacecraft and exploded. An X wing then immediately appeared and flew towards the another, blasting it with a laser cannon.
The war was taken below and up above the sky. Emperor Jeonghan and Dark Lord Jeonghan were spooked at the arrival and unexpected alliance of the Rebels and the Annihilators to protect Twiceland.
"Send the scum here." Jeonghan instructs a trooper and went out of the base for a while before returning with his comrades, carrying the injured YN on his arms.
You were brought at the center, near the window where they forcefully had you watch the brutality and destruction that is being unleashed on Twiceland.
"No... w-what are you doing? Leave them a-alone!!!" You tried to scream despite of the pain and exhaustion you feel but then Emperor Jeonghan zapped you with his electricity.
"SILENCE!"
Even Jeongyeon couldn't deny that it stings her to see her beloved hometown and the people being put through hell by the Dark Side.
Jeonghan looks at Jeongyeon. "And now, for your final task, you must claim Twiceland, capture all the people, take those pieces of junk out of the sky and kill those worthless Rebels! With these, you can now fulfill your destiny of becoming the rightful Dark Lord not only by the Empire, but by the entire clan of the Sith." He proudly presented to her.
Hearing the biggest and most difficult task she has ever been given to that involves her hometown and her former friends that stood as her first family, Jeongyeon hesitated on that command.
"Jeongyeon, no don't listen to him. Please! YOU HAVE TO WAKE UP!" YN hurriedly pleads on her again as he recalls all the good things they have done for her.
Jeonghan fights back by striking him with electricity, attacking YN. "This is what you get for your lack of faith and vision that we have for the galaxy. Your convincing is the same as your powers, all have no match for the Dark Side!" He said before releasing another tingling shockwaves of electricity to YN, twitching intensely in pain.
"Remind you that we have a promise Jeongyeon, you said it yourself! The desire you have led you standing here with the power you wanted to possess, so why bother throw it away for a half-witted scum like him!"
The disarray of it all was beginning to aggravate and anger Jeongyeon. She then glanced at YN, whose clothes was now smoldering from the amount of electricity you had taken, and she instantly felt a sorrow in her heart. Memories flashed across her mind: when Jeongyeon and YN initially became friends, they vowed to stick by one another through hardship and to support one another through it. She knew you failed, but you are too irresistable for her, mainly brought by the feelings she has blossomed from your connection with her. A series of explosions rocked the town as multiple destroyer fleets fired lasers at anything below, destroying all that was left, including the structures and every beings scattered in fright and madness.
"YES... MORE! MOREEE! MOREEEEEE!!!!" Jeonghan's eyes sprung up in excitement, his face crunched creepy as he shouted and laughs in rage and sinister.
As he continues to harshly electrocute you until you get toasted alive, Jeongyeon walked away beside him as she has made up her decision, removes her helmet, threw it at the wall, grabs her lightsaber and slashes Jeongyeon's back, falling unconscious.
The Knights that were all standing around them in the room shocked at Jeongyeon's betrayal. They began cornering her and unleashed their blazing staff, in which she prepares her fighting stance and gripped her lightsaber tighter.
"Come on, you sons of bitches." Jeongyeon gestured at them to come at her and all of them did, in which she prevented them all by attacking them at once.
Jeongyeon shielded herself from a lightsaber smash before throwing the Knight away with a force through the midsection.
She went into a clash with the second Knight before catching his hand and twisted her lightsaber, yeeting his staff and cutting both of his hands effectively before snapping his head off with her force.
Jeongyeon felt a kick on her back as the third Knight surprises her with a blindside attack. The fourth Knight cooperated, about to slash her head off but she spun aside, the staff hit the floor instead.
She did a kip up, slashing the third Knight to his waist, cutting him in half before rotating the lightsaber backwards, stabbing the fourth Knight behind and pull lightsaber upwards as it slashes his torso open.
The fifth Knight threw his staff on Jeongyeon, she was aware but it was too late. It hit the handle and got thrown away from her hold. She collapsed on the floor and the Knight walks towards her, ready to kill her.
She was about to ran out of energy and get outnumbered before suddenly, the fifth Knight kneeled as YN went back up by grabbing Jeongyeon's lightsaber and stabbing his knee. Jeongyeon then force choked her until his neck snapped.
Jeongyeon slowly stands up and looked at you from above, she lends her hand and you looked at it before focusing on her face. There it is, the same old Jeongyeon that you once knew is finally back in control.
Without any further do, Jeongyeon immediately hugged you tightly and cried on your shoulder. You reciprocate her embrace and patted her back.
"I'm sorry, YN." She sniffed on her tears. "I'm so sorry."
"I'm glad you're back, Jeongyeon." You said with a smile on your face. A teardrop finally escaped in your eye.
You seperated her from your body and looked at her closely. You wiped off her tears and swayed away some strands of her hair. "You asked me what I want from you and I want to give you my answer fast."
"Hope is hard, I want you to believe it's still there. I know the damage has been done but there's always a time where you can start all over again and avoid repeating the same mistake twice. That's why I don't want you to keep on running because... it's harder to stay, Jeongyeon."
"I want to make you feel okay. I failed before but that didn't made me give up on you." You said as you said it to her from all of your heart. "Let me save and protect you again, and this time; I want to make sure that it will be the best thing I ever did. I love you, and please come back... because I won't go home without you."
Jeongyeon cupped both of your cheeks and pulled you closer to her, bringing you to a kiss that you once always imagining to share with her, and now it's here, with her turning it into a reality. It may have been done in a wrong time and wrong setting but, being with her will always going to be special.
"Then take me with you, I have no other plans to leave anymore."
They proceed to make their way escape to the planet as they set it into self destruct. You two encountered more troopers, in which both of you fought them all side by side. Jeongyeon was the one who push and pull them off while you are the one in charge of stabbing and slaying them through their deaths.
As the path were now cleared and continued to make your way out, you ached as you felt a burning sensation on your thigh.
"TRAITOR!!! WHO SAID BOTH OF YOU CAN LEAVE!"
It was then you found out that Emperor Jeonghan is stumbling on his feet, he just fired a lightning on the part you felt the sting. He slowly making his way towards them. Jeongyeon pushed him away with her force field.
"Jeong, listen to me. Go without me and help the group fight the troopers."
"What?!" Jeongyeon was astounded. "No, I'm not going anywhere. I'm staying with you."
"Jeong, we're running out of time here! I'm injured, it will take much time for us to get out." You said to her. "I'll be here to take care of him."
"No, I'm not going to leave you here alone! But how about you?!"
You stared at Jeongyeon who is about to cry again, the panic and worry of your condition triggering her emotions.
"I'll do my best." You smiled. "Just please, save yourself for me. I came here for you, right?"
Jeongyeon pressed her head against yours. "Damn it..." She hiccuped on her sobs, irritated that there's nothing they can do. She quickly kissed you again. "I'll be waiting for you out there, YN."
You nodded and she immediately ran towards the airbase where she can retrieve some destroyer fleet from there.
Now back on their feet, YN and Jeonghan stared at each other with deadly eyes. "Let's finish this." The tension brought them opportunity to attack together, turning it into a brawl as the two beats the hell out of each other. Jeonghan threw the first blow, a ball of electricity about to bump on your face, but you dodged it and made a spin with a swing of your lightsaber.
Meanwhile, Nayeon was hiding behind a tree, struggling to face three troopers who are looking for her. She was about to build up her courage and whisper "May the force be with me" before she heard grunting and shrieking sounds.
All she know after that is that the troopers are down, and a familiar figure is standing between them.
Nayeon points her lightsaber in fear at her but the latter just smiled and lets out tears as she slowly walks towards the older member and her former friend.
Nayeon turns off her lightsaber and started to look back at her emotionally. "J-jeongyeon?"
She nodded and softly smiled before she hugged Nayeon, the two shared an emotional moment while the rest of the members watched them. Jihyo was the most relieved out of them all.
As she got reunited with the group she instantly became worried that YN isn't showing up yet as the planet slowly crumbles.
With half a minute remaining before the destruction, you finally killed Jeonghan by slashing his hand gripping on the rail, making her fall down to the energy core of the base. However the heavy injury you took unabled you to quickly escape the planet.
You looked at the timer and sat at the middle of a metal bridge. Pulling out the necklace you wanted to give to Jeongyeon after this, you wore it instead around your neck as you went back at the time where you first fell in love with Jeongyeon.
And when you saw her again, you could see the same tenderness in her face but this time it was evident that it was almost the same as what he's feeling. The same love that you've been keeping from her throughout these years.
He smiles in a bittersweet defeat as he accepts his fate.
"Jeongyeon, where are you going?!" Nayeon shouts as they saw Jeongyeon start to sprint away from them.
She continues to run ahead back to the planet but in a flash of a second, everything turns red and yellow as she was splashed away by a huge airwave, a loud explosion could be heard in the background.
--------------------------
A week later, Twiceland is slowly being repaired by the villagers. The group entertains the children while also serving and assisting the villagers on what they need. In addition, they celebrated the defeat of the Knights and the fall of the Dark Side, freeing the galaxy into the peace it deserves.
Jeongyeon who is now recovering from all the trauma, finally made amends with her friends and her hometown, and learned also that the cause of your short disappearance when she was looking for you was that you were sent to another planet to search for more materials through barter and tutor more children to fight. That explains why you have an idea on what she did to the group but never had the chance to learn the reason behind all of it.
She walks through the top of a hill to take a visit at YN's grave. Wearing a black dress to grieve, she sat down and traced her engraved name on the tombstone with her fingertips. She lets out a faint smile for that.
She viewed the heavenly sky and breathes out, preparing herself to engage in a talk with an imaginary YN, who might be peeking at her from the clouds above, a wide grin and delight in your heart to see her finally back to where she rightfully belongs.
"I know I haven't been able to say this to you, but I know you're watching me and I'll just take the chance to say this only for you." Jeongyeon then glanced at your grave. "I love you too."
She couldn't contain it, her voice broke. Head hanged low, her vision became blurry as tears welled up around her eyes. "I'm still attached to you, and you were pulling me apart from them, having me conflicted if it was truly the right decision that I joined them."
"I was lost. I didn't knew which way I'll go. What side do I belong to. Fortunately, even without your presence, your existence was still helpful enough to help me at my worst. I couldn't even say this to you too but... thank you and I already forgave you, for everything YN. And I'm sorry if I also put you along with them to suffer with my wrong doings. We're fine now but, still I'm gonna be able to forgive myself for that."
Jeongyeon pursed forward, her tears dropped the grass as her tender hands pressed against your name. "I could wish you're here beside me, hearing it directly. I still couldn't sink it within me that... I went back home without you, forever." She muttered.
Jeongyeon rose up and straightened her clothes after nearly an hour of giving you some of her stories about rejoining the villagers and the group. She grabbed the necklace the villagers had crafted for her before turning to leave him. Based on one of your notes where you drew when they were recovering from your items that were given to Jeongyeon to be kept safe, the design was identical to yours. She looked at the necklace appreciatively, knowing that the other one is in your possession since she remembered you wearing it when you saved her.
