I know Rhysand Stans have blinders on when it comes to their fave, but it's so weird to me, the ways in which his actions towards Feyre, which are clearly examples of textbook SA, are minimised by them.
Like some of them are genuine when they respond to people saying Rhysand SAd Feyre- "Acckchually, you know, I didn't interpret it like that.... because..because.... he didn't touch her below the waist or anything right??.And he gave her drinks to make her forget it right???....So in my opinion he didn't SA her....
......
But it's okay because we all have different interpretations of a text so......leT's aGrEe to dIsAgReE!!!! ......"
As though something like this, is a matter to have an "opinion" on....
I didnt realise a scene which was showcasing textbook SA, like touching her without consent, forcibly feeding her wine so she would black out, making her do sexual dances etc, in front of everybody, could have different "interpretations"...like when you think about it, you realise that these people are so far up Rhysand's ass, they are literally justifying the SA that's written as cannon, in the text and trying to turn it into something else...
Classic case of belittling and minimising SA crimes, that usually happens in real life too..
There were several ways SJM could have written that scene, and make it look like it is absolutely not SA, one being, I don't know, Rhysand actually not SAing her and then, them yapping about this would make more sense...
Even with the Tamlin situation they like to bring up to show how much of an "abuser" he is, it is literally written that he was trembling, shaking and had grief/pain on his face when he lost control of his powers, blowing up his study where Feyre got hurt. This is actually where multiple "interpretations" are possible(although it is obvious there can only be 1 inference from this scene which is he had a freaking panic attack after Feyre pushed his buttons a little too much).Because the scene is written that way.
Whereas there is nothing else you can interpret from Rhysand's deliberate acts of coercion and abuse as anything other than what it is.Otherwise, as I said before, SJM should have written it differentlym
So no honey, we cannot just "agree to disagree" on a scene that is clearly showcasing SA, coercion and manipulation. There is no room for different "interpretations" here, you either accept it is SA but you still Stan the guy or you are an SA apologist. No in betweens, no room for different opinions and definitely don't use the "agree to disagree" card because you cant stand that people called him out for the sexual abuser he is and don't think, it is an ultimate act of love or protection...
He is Feyre's abuser and molester. These are facts.

demi god LU time
the law of hyperfixations says you must combine interests at every given chance
adding a cut here as to not clog feeds!! its a real long post
i wanna hear thoughts too! so dont be afraid to comment. these are my personal opinions and i wanna hear if anyone agrees or disagrees :D (apologies for all the tags btw)
edit to add the stupid doodle
Tumblr media
the gods all have favorites, and ironically none of them are their own kids (save for hades: he loves his kid. doesn't make him a good parent, but you know?)
In a more Zelda timeline abiding setting; Originally they weren't all at camp halfblood at the same time, but time shenanigans decided they were to be brought together
Imagine Chiron’s surprise when 7 of his dead campers waltz into camp (this happens EVERY SINGLE TIME they enter camp. Dionysus is completely unfazed, knowing the bs time shit the gods are dealing with atm)
By the time they enter camp in Wild’s Hyrule for the second time he kinda understands (Wind and Sky didnt have a Camp Halfblood, for the record, for obvious reasons)
Alternatively, its some form of modern au where they’re just from different parts of Hyrule (skyloft, downfall, ordonia, windfall peninsula, hyrule town (different from castle town), the list goes on) which would make a lot more sense for this kinda au (the world would’ve just had a LOT of calamities within the span of a few years, some of the heroes knowing about camp and others not so much)
(i think Legend, Wars, Time, Wind (post WW) and Four would’ve known about Camp Halfblood while the others were just kinda on their own until after their quests) meaning over half of them didn’t have prophecies and just went to deal with the issue themselves, possibly meaning on their journey they learned of camp
Ok well, all of them but Wars, who grew up at Camp Halfblood
All Zelda’s are children of Athena, save for Skyward Sword Zelda since she's the reincarnation of Hylia (yeah, im keeping the original Zelda goddesses! What of it?)
At some point fairly early on, a Zelda only had a son, who got together with Athena at some point and boom
Sky: child of Zeus
self explanatory
God of the skies? his name is literally Sky
not to mention how fucking powerful he is?
he was the "first" Link; Zeus was technically the first God, it makes sense (this is such a stupid reason)
The skies are his home, Zeus finding someone on Skyloft and “falling in love” with their love of the sky too results in this bad boy right here
The demise fight? Only a zeus kid could harbor lightning like that
A camp counselor in the modern setting (ik typically once you’re 18, you’re no longer a camper really, but shhhh)
Wind: child of Poseidon
Don't roll your eyes, i've got a reason!!
the 4 wind gods throw a fit anytime he's sent on a quest (they all love him even if they won't admit it)
A world purely ocean and islands? Poseidon would have a fuckin ball
The Great Sea needed a hero, Wind was brought about more for necessity than out of the want to have a child (this leaves a hard disconnect between wind and the gods, knowing his dad didn’t really have him out of love for his mom but because the world needed to be saved)
The irony of Poseidon being the patron of pegasi and horses and Wind not knowing what a horse is will never not be a funny thought
Has more control over the wind than he does the sea (for now)
he, like Legend, pointedly ignores that he's a demi-god, especially since he comes after the Hero of Time (kinda hard to live up to that, even outside of a demi-god au)
The ocean and winds are his mood ring: you upset him the wind gods are after you
In a modern setting, the same reason applies kinda; a quest under the sea would be virtually impossible for anyone but a child of Poseidon, and hell knows a cyclopes isnt gonna be sent (gotta love those prophecies)
OR!! OR AND HEAR ME OUT
Wind isnt a demigod
The wind gods still adore him, but he doesn't have the hero’s spirit and i think that’d kinda translate to not being a demigod, yet still being the one who was destined to go on the quest because there just weren't any demigods to do it
Still not set on which id go with
Legend: child of Hades
Ah yes, child of the big three goes on so many quests trope. Love to see it
he's Apollo's favorite favorite (Warriors is jealous as hell. Thats his dad! Wdym he likes Legend more????)
Pointedly ignores the fact he's a demigod (at least, he definitely tries to)
Blessed by (and beefing with) so many gods from his quests
probably one of the few heroes who's spoken to their godly parent (trust me, it was out of obligation rather than free will)
Prefers helping out the more minor, underappreciated, and not as needy or bitchy gods (like Hestia, for example)
curses the Olympians constantly, they've learned to ignore him, hes their best questing kid
Sort of a general camp counselor since Hades doesn't really have kids (its technically his last year but hes been there the longest out of everyone)
Managed to block the oracle over iris message
After his trip to the dark world and lorule, the gods go haywire around him, much to his delight (because it means they leave him alone)
Hyrule: child of Hecate
adopted by Hermes (much to the dismay of all the Hermes children)
I was on the line between Hecate, Apollo, and Hermes; Hyrule’s affinity for magic and the blood curse resulted in Hecate to win
Very detached from the gods, the help he receives is never outright but more subtle blessings
The gods like to ignore Downfall after Legend died tbh (outside of modern, obviously)
Well, they still ignore Downfall as a city/country.
Only learned of camp thanks to Legend, otherwise he wouldn’t have had a clue it existed
Wild: child of Athena
Also adopted by Hermes
One of the more chaotic children of Athena
The idea of Athena being his godly parent sourced from his resourcefulness and quick battle (or just general) strategies, along with his pre-calamity self being stoic and more on the critical side
Completely forgot he was a demigod and just let loose, Athena is more than slightly perturbed by him and yet so infatuated
Supervises archery at camp
Warriors: child of Apollo
exemplifies almost 0 traits of his father other than his looks and his affinity for medicine (shit archer, shit musician, can't write poetry)
blessed by Athena during the war since he was struggling so much, she always has a soft spot for the heros since they fight to protect her daughters so hard (aka pity blessing)
Actively beefing with Ares
Aphrodite likes to keep an eye on him, mostly for entertainment (she woulda eaten the whole Cia debacle UP)
Very notorious in camp considering he was a war captain at the ripe age of 17; once learning of the whole Camp Jupiter has apartments and college for half bloods insisted and led a project at CHB to get something similar built (which is where he, Sky and Twilight stay after turning 18)
Twilight: child of Demeter
His love for ranch animals and caring for his farm lead me to this decision
Also the whole wolf thing, that also counts
Appalled by the fact Wind doesn't know what a horse is considering he's literally the son of Poseidon (jealous the kid can talk to Epona and he can't)
After his journey to the twilight, the gods kinda flicker between Greek and Roman around him so they tend to avoid him like Legend
blessed/cursed by Lupa, hence the wolf thing
Teaches foraging lessons at camp
Four: child of Hephaestus
He's the smithy, I couldn’t not say he's a Hephaestus kid
received a lot less help from the gods since he was one of the first
started advocating that heros receive help from the divine after LU concludes so those after him have a fighting chance (not in the modern setting)
I havent played many of his games, but the kinstones sound like a thing Hephaestus would scatter across the earth as scrap from his creations
Not one of the fire wielders (the only one that can wield fire is Red when split, mostly because of the elemental bs in minish cap)
After drawing the Four Sword, Janus (despite being roman (i like to think the four sword would be a roman artifact, it just feels right)) was suddenly pretty interested and bestowed what wisdom he had for the demi-god
Vulcan, Neptune, Aeolus, and Ceres all came together to forge the elemental stones; the Minish were still the ones to bestow the sword to Hylian people
The gods tend to avoid him too, for the same reason they avoid Twilight and Legend (dark world shenanigans and the Four Sword)
He loves the damn forge at CHB, and was ecstatic seeing the one at Camp Jupiter
He was asked by Chiron if he would be interested in running a forge class for young demigods (be it his siblings or anyone interested) but sadly declined
Has that air of responsibility to him, being a seasoned quester (and while his 3 doesn't stand to Legend’s 6, its still pretty sizable) hes looked up to by the younger campers
Time: child of Demeter Kronos?
The Kokiri were so Demeter core dont even tell me they werent
I guess they’d kinda act like nymphs and dryads in a sense??
His abilities use to relate to his mother until the events of his first quest: the Ocarina of Time was designed to slowly corrupt the user, being a creation of Kronos’
However, it wasn’t really designed with a demigod in mind sooo…
Also self explanatory, the titan of time? Duh… huh?? what do you mean he was taken over?? What do you mean he was a child of Demeter?? No he wasnt lol that Neverrr happened
the reason he's the only “child” of a titan is mainly because of the fierce deity mask literally making him god-like, meaning he has a lot more power harbored in him sooo (the second he dawned that mask he discarded his old identity for that of a titan’s child, since it was also cursed object)
Don’t ask how he came to being Kronos’ kin, no one knows, not even he does (I do) (no, it does not imply a Hylian wandered into Tarturus and got out alive to have the baby)
Avoids interacting with the gods at all costs, he's weary of them as they are of him (even if he saved the world twice)
Extras :)
Ravio: child of Pluto
blessed by Minerva for his natural quick witted nature and clever war strategies, if her own daughter can't succeed she might as well make sure ONE does
can tell if a rupee is real or not by glance alone
Sheerow scares the fuck out of the gods, which in turn means Ravio puts them on edge, a thing very few can achieve
the gods never gave him much thought until the events of albw, to which he suddenly gained like four pair of godly eyes on him
can and will plan one of the worlds most successful heists, refuses to participate
also beefing with Ares (not Mars, Ares)
Based on my personal HC that Ravio’s some sort of artificer (be it replicating magic dungeon items or just flat out creating new ones) i think Vulcan has his eyes on him too
Hilda: child of Minerva
by far the strangest child Minerva ever birthed
exemplifies the traits of a hero rather than a ruler
a little jealous her mother likes Ravio more than her
gods be damned, she's not going to let them neglect her kingdom anymore
a force of fucking nature that single handedly forced a meeting with the gods and somehow forced them to agree to start restoring Lorule (she got the idea from Legend, who has done this multiple times for multiple different reasons)

HDG(?) story thoughts: Socialization
Socialization is a noncon fic by ashinbloom and transfemtomgirl that examines the horrifying ways trans women are treated in queer spaces, especially by men, through the lens of the HDG setting and its mechanics.
I would describe it as "HDG(?)". It is notable as one of very few fics that the Loret team has ever specifically described as not fitting the HDG setting, and I can't even really say I disagree, exactly? It's fucking complicated. I dont enjoy Socialization in the same way I enjoy most HDG stores. I read it and I feel seen and understood in my experiences, it is a commiseration of the lived experience of a disabled person having to deal with violent transmisogny from within her own community as well as outside. I will be blunt- this story is not what I think of when I think of HDG. it is a twisted knife in my gut, a reminder of some of the worst things that have ever happened to me, and i cannot stop thinking about it.
It makes me feel less alone, to know that the ways I was mistreated and abused by some transmasculine peers in the past was not something I made up, that I am not alone(especially since gaslighting was always part of the toolkit anyway!) In this way, it shares commonalities with the rest of the HDG tag, in that the pain it reflects feels very, very familiar to me.
the premise is simple. It is a second person fic, which is a frankly brilliant choice, about a transfemme reader navigating a wardship. her transmasculine friend, who is already a floret, manipulates her into his bed and the vines of the affini.
It is notable that this summary, plotwise, is not any different from many existing stories within HDG. where it diverges is the tone. Victor is like if someone took every guy who I didnt break up with months past when I should have and combined them into a figure almost as systemically enabled to take advantage of you as his real life counterparts are. the worst part of all is the screaming voice in the back of my head that I can fix him. it is a spectacle to behold, and I eagerly await the protaganist to fall into his clutches.
The affini in the story are used more as a backdrop to tell a story about how humans are shitty to each other. I think It is meaningful more as a story about the transfeminine experience than as a story about plommy, and you should go into it expecting for it to hurt you, and for that pain to be a cathartic experience of being seen.
The best/worst part of reading Socialization is knowing I would do the exact same thing in the protaganist 's shoes. I would believe I could fix him. Watching someone with every one of my own weaknesses be pulled apart by a predator I have known intimately far too many times is arousing in ways that horrify me. I hate how much I love this story. I hate how I find myself rooting for Victor to pull the reader apart more, because if he wins, maybe she can be happy. It's incredible, I cannot wait for more, because I am apparently a deep masochist.

Hi! I just wanted to know your thoughts on this post here: https://www.tumblr.com/yamishika/761491771751596032/something-that-has-been-bothering-me-regarding-the
Do you agree with this? Disagree with this? Was this just a light comedic moment? It def feels out of character for Jellal to a large degree. You have such great takes on Erza in general, that I wanted to check about this. I tried looking at your posts (now that I have better cell service) and didnt see this on your posts list. Apologies if you’ve covered it already. Thanks in advance!
the post in question^
thanks so much for this ask actually cuz I have been resisting the urge to yap about this forever and now I have an excuse ahaha.
honestly I completely agree, I've been saying it forever but as fairy tail has gone on Mashima has kind of stopped putting as much thought into it has he did early on. Early on the characters where the center of the narrative and honestly I think that's when ft is at its best because that has always been the best part if ft as a whole. The tower of heaven and the trauma Erza and Jellal faced along with countless others had so much impact on the story as late as season 6 because of just how massive a tragedy it was.
starting with Erza and Kiria, it feels especially disgusting for this to happen to specifically Erza because she has spent so much of her life being treated as less then human already. In the tower her purpose was literally to work herself to death, they needed sacrifices and lots of them. As soon as she wasn't useful to them anymore she would killed without a second thought and her life would only be another number added to the massive death toll of the r system project. she wasn't a person in there, she was a tool. Even after the tower she was still under someone else's control (on a leash you might say) with Jellal holding the lives of her friends over her head to keep her quiet, constantly taunting his power over her by spying on her with seigrain in the magic counsel. this is exactly what happens with Kiria and it feels genuinely horrifying to see it happen again but still its just played for fanservice and I find that incredibly irritating.
as for the Erza vs Jellal fight in the Aldoron arc, here we have a scene that is objectively horrifying to both of them. Erza and Jellal share INTENSE trauma associated with mind control and the loss of free will, and yet the scene is played for laughs and fanservice.
I do understand why Hiro did this, if they took the scene seriously it would probably set Jellal right back into his old ways again of avoiding Erza like the plague which he doesn't want because he's trying to push them closer together. I get that but its still feels like such a missed opportunity to give them some kind of emotional development which neither has had in so long. I'm gonna get into my own idea for the fight here so bear with me.
The fight begins and they intercut it with flash backs to the tower of heaven arc, or even further back to their actual childhood, showing how genuinely afraid of him Erza is right now while also trying to control herself and keep her "fight" instinct at bay because she doesn't want to hurt him. the fight from her perspective should be chaotic, rapidly throwing her between past and present while she desperately tries to hold onto a sense of reality and remind herself its not him.
now imagine this, at some point she loses control and really starts to spiral and he gets the upper hand. she's totally beaten and exhausted after trying to fight him and her demons at once and while she's on the ground he approaches her, lifts her up, and we get a call back to this scene.
Tumblr media
throughout this fight we never really see Jellal's face, its mostly been from Erza's perspective and when we do see his face its a flashback to a different time while he was mind controlled. Now in the present jellal says something, idk what he would say exactly, but its something similar to the "it was the color of your hair" moment where it reminds Erza of something he said to her while he was himself. Erza finally snaps back to reality, she looks down at him and we finally get a clear view of his face in the present, and we see that he's crying.
that is enough to fully snap Erza back and finally give the fight her all, because its not just for her sake its for both of them. he would never forgive himself if he hurt her so she's going to have to be the one to do it even if it hurts because its the only way she's going to save him. and more than anything she wants to save him. (Again, call back to the tower of heaven, she was to late to save him then and it weighs on her to this day, she wont be to late this time.) anyway fight ends shortly after that she knocks him out and she's crying because obviously she never wanted to hurt him either she's just taking one for the team (like always but that's another rant). Just before Jellal passes out he looks at her and he thanks her for saving him (ONCE AGAIN CALL BACK TP THE TOWER OF HEAVEN but this time its not manipulation he's being fr showing us that its really him now). he passes out, erza gets up, looks back at him maybe one last time, says shes sorry, then goes off to go keep fighting. fight over
case and point I think this could have been sick as hell and i'm sad it didn't happen. its not that I have a problem with fanservice I just think it should be tasteful at least a little.

Thoughts on Robin Lives?
sorry it took me a few days to get to this but i just read the last issue and. hm.
it honestly had me right until the end. i was on board. everyone hated last month's issue but i didnt have a problem it, and i was literally reading this newest issue like "okay... i see why people dont like it but i dont agree! im having fun!! i like it!!!!" then the last two pages happened and. what the fuck
i am a strong defender of elseworld characterizations being different than what i want in main universe. i saw a lot of people mad that jason had an obsession with joker in this story and i dont agree with that at all tbh! i liked it!!! i dont like it when red hood jason is obsessed with joker, but this is robin jason who watched joker murder his mother then beat him nearly to death like. two weeks ago. he is fresh off the ditf trauma in this story so i LOVED that he was trying to hunt down and kill the joker, then froze at the last minute last issue. i dont like it when red hood stories do that but THIS was good
and honestly i saw the screenshots of the panels of jason becoming joker out of context and i was STILL willing to hear the story out. like sure maybe if we really lean into the fact that hes so fucked up by the trauma of ditf straight into everything that happened in this story, i could be on board with him becoming joker jr. again, if the story is good i will accept so many things happening in elseworlds
but what the fuck was that!!! i was SO into the story and i was completely into the universe. the first moment that snapped me out was when bruce and the therapist got married?? for some reason???? that felt like such a random choice to me (and its very much a "there is a female character in this story so she has to fall in love with someone" situation) and i thought that was super weird and out of nowhere. but its a minor thing so i was willing to ignore it if the rest of it was good. but then the joker thing happened
many people are going to disagree with this but i think i would've liked the story overall if jason had become joker jr immediately after killing the joker. imo with this story the writer could've chosen two different paths, one where everything gets better so you can look at it and be like "awww jason could've been happy if he lived :(" OR one where everything is monumentally worse, and i would've been fine with either because once again, its an elseworld story so who cares. but i didnt like the fake out of "you think its gonna be better but its actually secretly WORSE 😈" because it ended up just coming out of nowhere. like jason becomes the joker AFTER going through therapy and getting a degree and a job and a life?? why????? i would've been soooo much more interested if he was fresh off the trauma of killing joker right after everything that happened. like i said i knew that jason became joker bc i saw the panels, so when he ran away i thought he ran away to joker out, and i was kind of really into that idea. i thought it would've been a kind of cool elseworld story if jason becomes the joker right after everything that happened. but thats not how it worked out
it just. came from nowhere. there was no buildup. it was clear the writer wanted to like. make the reader think it would be happy, then pull the rug out at the last minute. and because of that it just became weird. like i wasnt upset as much as i was confused because like ?? why???? why did that happen how did that happen What happened. thats not a story or an ending. thats just a thing happening. again, if the story had just led down the path to jason becoming the joker i would've liked it sooo much more because at the very least there would've been a plot. but that was nothing!!!! i am a strong supporter of "bad" endings, but only when the story leads the way to the unhappy ending. that felt like angst just for the sake of angst. like what was the reason!
sorry i feel like im repeating myself a lot im just trying to wrap my head around this. basically to me the book's biggest crime wasnt the decision to make jason become joker, it was the fact that it didn't bother to create the path to jason becoming joker. i am willing to hear a story out but i cant forgive bad storytelling

the only part of the karin filler episode that i strongly disagree with is what her life was like in oto. in my opinion the episode focuses too much on her healing abilities which wasnt why orochimaru valued her at all. its something kusa horribly took advantage of because they didnt see karin as a person but orochimaru had no need for that when he already had kabuto. karins sensory abilities are much more valuable to him since only one of her can guard an entire prison (efficient). which is why she was the warden of the southern hideout.
and that responsibility implies a certain level of trust. we know karin doesnt Fear orochimaru the way suigetsu does, so i really dont think she was treated the same way she was in kusa. and i do really believe orochimaru keeps his promises to an extent. he is genuinely charismatic and a LOT of people worked under him willingly. so other than some early testing to understand this ability that would have been explained to her and that she would have given consent to*, i really do believe he would have kept his promise to not let anyone else touch her and give her a safe place to exist in.
now of course we also know karin is not that loyal to orochimaru. that kind of background and protection from him could be enough for her to worship him the way kimimaro does. but well ultimately karin is just not that important to orochimaru that he would put on as much of a show for her as he did for kimimaro. and we cant forget that 1) orochimarus chakra is crazy disgusting and oppressive, and thats the first thing karin feels. its how she identifies people. no matter how good he could be to her she knows instinctively that his true nature is completely wicked, so it would be hard to truly let down her guard around someone like that, and 2) he did very much involve her in human experiments lol. she is not into that stuff like kabuto is. its traumatizing. that kind of thing sours a relationship pretty quickly.
all in all. i just think its nuanced. oto isnt just "prisoner going through hell" and "loyal followers who worship orochimaru like a god and see him as a savior and parent". shes just one of the many people in oto who are there to survive. i think its a choice everyone in oto who isnt blinded by orochimarus charisma (or into the whole vibe) makes at some point. to turn a blind eye to everything going on there and not make waves for their own safety or personal gain. to participate in it because outside would be worse, or they dont want it to happen to them

Hiii :) it’s me again, the anon who yapped about fanon Vox, I’m here because I need to yap again: I’m kinda worried about season 2
After rewatching season 1, I felt like the stakes weren’t high enough for Charlie & the Hotel. One would think going into battle against Heaven would be devastating and disastrous but the only characters that permanently died were…background characters. I don’t count Sir Pentious because bro is alive and will most likely have a bigger role to play in the story now that he’s in heaven. The hotel was destroyed, yeah, but like minutes later it was rebuilt with the help of Lucifer.
That’s another reason why I feel like the stakes aren’t high enough, they added Lucifer way too soon. How are Vox & other future villains meant to stand a chance against the King of Hell?? I think it would’ve been better if took Charlie a couple of seasons to convince her dad to help her cause.
My main worries for season 2 are about Vox because I can’t stop thinking about him LMFAO. Anyways, I’m scared Vox will be a second Adam, goofy villain that gets killed off pretty quickly and anti-climactically. Vox was already a silly villain in season 1 (sending Pentious to the Hotel as a spy, cheering when Alastor got his ass beat, etc, etc.) so it’ll feel like a waste if they continue writing him that way. I want Vox to be an actual threat and kill one of the main characters PERMANENTLY. Preferably Angel Dust cause it’ll cause a shit ton of discourse since he’s well-loved by both the characters in-universe and the fandom but I don’t think that’ll happen. I just need Vox to lock in 🙏
Don’t get me wrong, I love Hazbin Hotel (only because of Alastor & the Vees but shhh 🤫) but I want the story to evoke emotions from me, I wanna be anxious, I wanna feel hyped, but I don’t feel any of this when things go too perfectly for the main characters and everything goes wrong for the antagonists.
I’m so sorry for the long ass essay, I would make my own post but I don’t wanna be perceived 😭😭
oh i completely understand ur worries nonny dont even worry about the essay
i definitely feel like theres a Risk of that happening to vox especially since . well. vivz doesnt have the best track record to begin with (cannot speak for hb but the way she deals with some characters and resolves their arcs is. questionable) but i personally think (hope? believe?) that since there are members on the writing and animation team who are fans of the vees that she wont just kill vox off for no reason / comic relief(or any of the vees, really) + also of all the vees vox is probably the most likely to die in a dramatic scene considering how he and al are set up to be character foils and killing him off in the stupidest way would be such a horrific storyline fumble i cannot in good conscience believe that vivziepop would even be able to fathom its stupidity. of course im holding out hope still because if theres one thing ive learnt about the internet its that you do not under any circumstances trust any public figures to make the right decisions ever and this applies to animated shows too.
vox killing someone forever would really manage to cement his place in the storyline as a big baddie, but i do have to disagree on wanting angel dead- personally- and as much as it pains me to say this- i think him killing husk or niffty would have the same effect while not interfering with angels healing arc: in fact itd even further angels healing arc and self discovery, alongside giving alastor a reason to perhaps go toe to toe with vox. (i do think that killing angel off would have an interesting result but it feels like an abrupt and unnecessary move to make, tho it may just be ny preference to want to see recovery arcs fulfilled so those characters can live their best lives)
++re what you said ab the hotel not having enough stakes for the next season, i totally agree- bringing in lucifer feels a bit like a cheap copout and didnt really serve to further **charlies** character arc (arguably you could say making up with her father developed her backbone more but. hm. idk you couldve done that in a multitude of other ways sooo)

Here’s a clear post about how I feel when it comes to each character/ship:
Starting off with the icons of the series:
Feyre Archeron - I like Feyre’s character, she personally didnt stand out as a memorable fmc to me, but you wont catching me hating on Feyre. I defend her from some takes I disagree with when it comes to her character and I always believe these two things about her. 1) She deserves so much better and 2) Feyre will always be important in this series despite whose book it is. I was going to dnf acomaf bcs I found it boring but then the whole cauldron thing happened and that hooked me on for acowar.
Nesta Archeron- I like Nesta, her and feyre are constantly switching between 2nd and 3rd place on my top 3 acotar characters. I found Nesta more relatable as an fmc, acosf didnt do her justice but I was definitely more interested in her character and she was one of the reasons I carried on reading the series. Nesta’s healing journey was the only part of acosf I found impactful. I do constantly defend Nesta but I also hold her accountable for the hurt she hs caused towards her sisters. Due to the toxicity of Nesta stans, I keep myself far away from that part of the fandom.
Elain Archeron - Do I even have to explain myself? I love her, she’s mine. If I could somehow transport myself into the acotar world you bet I’d fight both Lucien and Azriel for a chance with her- would I win? Realistically no but in my mind I would. Has Elain done some things wrong aside from acotar? Eh. Do I care about her wrongdoings? Absolutely not. You cannot pay me enough to gaf about Elains wrongdoings. She’s a beautiful character. If she randomly decided to kill everyone - I’d support her. I just love Elain. So much. She’s the reason im in this fandom. There’s so many aspects of her story I cant wait for and nothing will stop me from reading an Elain book.
Rhysand - I dont like him. He’s feyre’s husband and thats as far as I think about him. There are some scenarios in which I’ll defend his character but that doesn’t occur happen bcs….I rlly dont like his character. Tbf I dont even have a good reason. There’s just some characters you dislike for no valid reason and he’s one of them. I wont actively defend him from takes I disagree with bcs I dont care enough to waste energy on defending him. However if I rlly disagree, then I’d make my own seperate post.
5. Cassian - im neutral around him. I find him boring and irrelevant for now. If he died off, I wouldn’t exactly be crying. I dont particularly participate in Cassian hate but I don’t defend him from it either.
6. Azriel - Ig I like his character. I dont hate him, he doesn’t stand out to me and quite frankly, is a bit boring. He has potential but I think out of all the acotar males he’d be my number 1 only bcs I dislike them all that much. You wont catch me hating him because there is nothing to hate. I do defend him from takes I disagree with. And I think he’s overly misunderstood and twisted for no reason. The only relatable part of Az is him questioning his religion for Elain and wanting to beg on his knees for her…bcs lmfao same. Id also want to beg for Elain. Ok well Ig I relate to how down bad he is for Elain.
7. Lucien Vanserra - I find him interesting and he has potential but ever since I was reminded of his silence when his friend made a disgusting, degrading comment towards Elain, I dislike him. He could die off and Id be smiling. I defend him here and there but stay far away from his stans, most of them are so insufferable & bcs of them, Lucien is someone I just find irritating. But I would read a Lucien book.
8. the IC: dont like Mor again I dont have a solid reason- I appreciate the love & friendship she offered Feyre. Im neutral about Amren. Dont rlly care much about them both. As a whole unit - I find the IC juvenile and fake. Dont ask me why. I just do.
9. Tamlin - Will never catch me defending what he did to feyre. I dont care what happens to him. He dies - ok I can move on. I do think he should have a healing arc but Idc how that comes about.
10. Eris - Neutral but intrigued by him. Would read his novella.
As for Ships:
Feysand - neutral around. Nessian - I dont like them.
Elriel - perfection, everything about them is just so iconic. There’s a reason other ships steal elriel’s aesthetic and story/plot lines as well as scenes.
Elucien - I see their potential. I like the idea of them and obviously was an elucien stan. Id read an elucien book - I don’t think they’re endgame, hate the way eluciens justify or even defend their ship. No elucien theory has ever made sense and nothing they’ve theorised is actually foreshadowed. I just find it so easy to debunk everything about this ship.
Gwynriel - I see this ship and its stans as little kids who want to act cool and know it alls to fit in with the big kids. It’s a stupid ship, I hate it just bcs of how ridiculous the stans are and bcs of the hate this ship caused for Elain. I wouldn’t read a gwynriel book bcs im not interested in a water down, musical version of acosf. This ship is so far from being original. You will catch me hating on this ship every time. I am a proud hater and will spare energy to talk about my deep rooted hatred for gwynriel.
brycerial - can’t believe its still a thing. I dont care about this ship, I spare no energy thinking about it.
Azris - the only red head I’d accept for Azriel. I wouldn’t be mad if they happened. Shocked and flabbergasted, sure but not mad.
alright hopefully that clears up how I feel about these characters/ships 🫶

The other day i was watching how people made fun of the Hazbin trailer and someone uploaded a clip from "Inside Every demon is a Rainbow" to say it was a downgrade and my jaw dropped when i saw that it was true, i always thoght that the "new" H.H had something that made it look worse than the pilot but i couldn't put my finger on it, and now i think i understand the reson.
So, these are the reasons why the new clip looks like a downgrade (in my opinion):
1)The Song.
No matter your opinion on Hazbin, we all agree that "Inside of every demon is a rainbow" is an iconic song. Its not a masterpiece, but it works really great to introduce the show. Maybe its nostalgia talking, but i love this song, i really like how it start slow but then goes into a fast catchy tune as Charlie is talking with enthusiasm about her proyect. The voice actress also is doing an amazing song because she sounds SO energetic and genuine, wich is clearly a sign of how much she loved that job. Its a cringe song, but in a "charming" and pure way, that is very unique and enjoyable when you turn off your brain a little.
Meanwhile, the new one sounds like a generic, forgetable, lifeless Disney song, the only difference is that it has curses and shit. Its like its trying to replicate the other one without understanding what made it so loved.
2) The damn camera movements
The pilot was fast moving, energetic and sometimes there were parts where you couldnt tell what was happening until you paused, but even so, it was easier to digest because the camera was still most of the time, it didnt need crazy movements. There was a million things happening on screen, but at leats the camera had slight movements so your eyes could at least know where your focus should be in (check out the "so all you cartoon porn addictions" part to see what im talking about).
The new one? It shakes and zooms like crazy every time a character takes a step and it makes it hard to the eyes to understand where the fuck they should be looking. Its not even funny, someone WILL get motion sickness.
3) The character designs
Im one of those people who didnt like most of the redesigns, now i understand why: because they dont fix ANY of the problems the original ones had: no less use of red, they still have a shit ton of unecesary details, they still have copypasted body types...
I would say some are WORSE.
Take Charlie, for example; she used to wear a light red shirt with black pants, she would blend a little bit in the background when interacting with it. Now she wears a bright red suit in bright red background and she gets lost EVEN MORE. The only thing they improved was her hairstyle.
4) The animation
Some people say that the animation is good and its just the editing that makes it look bad, but i disagree. Just take a look at the pilot and then the new clip, you will see a clear downgrade.
The old animation was so smooth and expressive, new one is choppy and is afraid of smearframes. Making characters with cartoony propotions look so stiff.
Its like those Sonic games when they used motion capture to animate Sonic and his friends. So they would be literal cartoons animals moving like realistic humans and it sucked.
4) The pilot was visually easier to "diggest" in general
I gotta say, while re-watching the clip of Inside of every demon, the only parts where it was hard to follow were when Charlie interacted with characters with exagerated designs and when she is rapping and there are a lot of fast scenes that ends before you have time to understand what you saw. The rest was just ok.
But in the new clip, it was 90% Charlie jumping around different backgrounds with a drunk camera man and in some part i paused to look at the wall cuz i felt like my eyes were gonna burn if i keep looking.
So thats it, there are some other reasons but these are the most important ones.
Sorry for writting too much, its such that im mad for what they did to a proyect i used to be obssesed with.
Anyway, hope Hazbin gets cancelled in the mid of the first season and the rest became lost media, have a good day 🩷
These are some great thoughts, Anon, thank you. New Hazbin doesn't have much appeal to outsiders, but it looks even worse when held up to the pilot.
"Inside Every Demon is a Rainbow" isn't the best song in the pilot, but it was an excellent song to introduce us to Charlie. It's not an easy one to sing either, but Charlie's singing VA nailed it.

11/19/24:
algebra: okay so i dont remember a lot from this morning except already before classes even started, 🦔 seemed in a much better mood today and was pretty friendly towards me, as well as two of my friends i was with at the time; p and e. thiugh, this i felt sort of bad about but it was absolutely hilarious in the moment is that my friend L was running late and she had gone home sick the day before, so 🦔 assumed she wouldn't be here today; but she did end up coming in before he took attendance. but as he was taking attendance he wss like, "so no L today, right? she went home early yesterday" and like me, p, AND L all like agreed with him thinking he was joking around because he does that alot, turns iut he WASN't and when he stood up to start class he sootted her and had to go back to fix it😭 it was actually hilarious but yeah. another thing that 🦔 did today that was actually awesome and i love him for is the fact that he gave us each numbers to put us into griups, but he counted a specific way so that L and i would be put into the same group even though we sit right next to eachother.. which is honestly pretty epic of him. a small thing though that happened while he was counting us into groups is when he reached me to count "5", he like pushed down sort of hard on my shoulder cause he was directly next to me standing up, and i dont know. it wasnt necessarily like a "harder" push, but like it was more forced pressure rather than just a light tap on my shoulder and i dont know, is it strange i didnt really back down/away from it? i've wrote a multitude of times about how nervous i am to be around him or in his presence, but i think that if i'm like sat down, i feel a lot more comfortable for some strange reason. i think it's because i feel more secure without the chance of like stumbling or something. i really dont wanna say something wack like "the more 🦔 touches me the more comfortable i become" because that honestlt sounds so weird both in and out of context, but like, i guess it's trye in a way?.. i know me standing next to him is scary, but when he like taps me or like comes in ever so slight contact with me on purpose, i don't feel as much fear as i should at all. also another thing is my ex bestfriend C like talked back to him or something during a game we were playing (honestly yeah she's sort of bitchy and like idk rbf personality tbh) and he like had her go iut in the hallway with him at the end of class and like asked her why she had such negativity towards him, which i dont believe she actually does; she just comes across that way and didnt mean it as talking back; so i sorta feel bad.
lunch: okay so this stuff specifically happened during lunch when me, R, and later V/J were in 🐢's room. basically, 🐢 is a d1 HATER of pokemon sun and moon series, as well as like the entire ides of ash and like all his pokemon. 🐢 believes that the only purpose of pokemon is to battle and evolve them, and if they dont/wont evolve, you should just get rid of them. and it was silly because we were talking about like what i thought the point of it was which i answered "idk, creating a bond slash friendship" which let me tell you🐢 DISAGREES HEAVILY with that.. uhm but yeah!! we talked abt pokemon lots more and how 🐢 seems like the tyoe to abuse his pokemon to which HE ADMITTED TO?? and then we went to the tipic of how its crazy that the parents in pokemon let their kids just go out ariund the world with strangers and pokemon and idek😭 this next bit was small and i dont remember it exactly but it was silly, 🐢 said something about something being *insert adjective* and i turned to R and like said something about it and then like nudged my head towards 🐢 motioning that the adj described him more then anything and when 🐢 that he thought i was saying R was it so he went "woah!! now we know what 👽 really thinks of R" to which i was like "oh yeah.. definitelyyy talking about R rn.." staring intensely at him to tell him i was talking about HIM and not R and i think/hope he got it because he started laughing at it a bit😭😭 anyways i let R try some of my tomato soup and he didnt put the lid all the way back on so some of it spilt on the table so i grabbed the crappy like brown oaper towels because that's all i could see and freaking 🐢 was joking abt it and i was like "these dont soak up ANYTHING bro." and he said "well yeah, theyre not mesnt to soak up soup" SHUT UPPP‼️‼️THIS MAN IS LITERALLY MY BIGGEST OP./j. anyways he told me where normal paper towels were after like FOREVER. and idk exactly but i think i threw something and missed terribly? But 🐢 said "wow 👽, no wonder you dont do any sports." WHAT. THIS MAN JUST CALLED ME UNATHLETIC WHAT DID I DO TO HIM. it was rlly funny and i made it worse because i tried throwing something at my friend and msised horribky and i was like "I SWEAR I DID SOFTBALL." and he was like "and how long ago was that?" and i answered "..i dont wanna answer that.." to which he asked "and did you actually throw the ball or did u pick at dandelions" AND I ACTUSLLY DID THROW THE BALL. And i said that and he seemed suprised asf😭 anyways there was a teensy bit more squabble but yeah and at the end i was like "hey 🐢, has anyone told yiu you're very unkind?" and he was like "yeah actually a lot of people have" DAMN. The grinch fr i fear💔 ALSO HES LETTING ME PAINT ONE OF THE LIKE FANBLADES IN HIS CLASSROOM ON THE CEILING FAN SO YIPPEE‼️‼️
i love 🐢 he's my dad pretty much😋

Also do you think there’s a chance Louis and James would end up being together/growing close if he did join the school?
answering this question first since i put this post in my drafts last night lmao the timing...
Tumblr media
i havent really thought too much about how james would fit in with the ericson kids if he ever came back. but the writers didnt have to have james say "...cute" in regards to louis saying some goofy shit so i do find that notable 👀 especially since thats the only scene where they actually interact....very interesting way to use their very limited time (in violets version i dont even think he reacts to her?? lmao)
the james we know is trying his best to be peaceful and kind and is doing what he can to preserve life. because of his time with the whisperers he tries to avoid conflict so i think he might be able to appreciate louis' "im here to have fun and blow off steam" outlook where the others usually dont (although he'd probably disagree about the walker bashing). he could benefit from that carefree influence like if anyone needs to loosen up its james aha the peaceful and kind stuff is something hes still striving towards. based on how he was gonna kidnap aj over disagreeing with clems parenting style hes not totally there yet. but clem talking james down by telling him he cant force his beliefs onto others (calling back to what he said to lilly about her forcing her ideas onto others because shes weak) i think is a wake up call for him and gives him something to think about. he needs to learn the only person he can control is himself. pairing that with louis' "dont know whats gonna happen tomorrow so might as well enjoy today" outlook i think would actually be a healthy perspective for james to take from
so yeah i think james could have a surprisingly high tolerance for louis' antics compared to the rest of the group. and i think thats something louis would in turn appreciate since the others can get kinda sick of him fucking around. i can definitely see them hanging around together finding ways to enjoy a nice day while the others are focused on their work first. in regards to romance well we know james had a boyfriend and thinks hes cute so i could at least see a one sided crush happening but idk if it would be reciprocated

anyways reading that long ass post i forgot to talk about the joe aspect of it all but honestly i was thinking about how everytime something happens in the taylor dating universe, there are like the same 4 types of posts I see being made about taylor swift and honestly its like okay
i feel this getting rambly so like okay the reason people care about taylor's dating life is because taylor uses her dating life to her advantage. Even that famous quote of hers about the different language prescribed to different genders betrays a truth about her business practices that is obvious to anyone who paid attention during 2023 to her dating life and the truth of the matter is, taylor swift has and always will use her dating life to her advantage.
since folklore, starting with seven, taylor has voiced a story arc of her learning to accept her desire for attention. famous people want to be famous for a reason and that reason at its base level is attention or money, usually both. taylor's music pre-pandemic is very good girl era of her and post-pandemic, she has been slowly making music that is more and more disagreeable with the general public. she is more and more willing to portray herself as the villain because after 9 or 10 failed relationships, you have to start doing serious introspection.
it's extremely unlikely that anyone would be the perfect victim whose only problem was that "they loved too earnestly" in every single relationship they've ever been in. and ttpd exposes a lot of what most of the fandom knows to be true but doesn't want to accept for some reason and that is that taylor swift DOES use her dating life to her advantage. i personally dont see anything wrong with that because like duh, so does literally every other famous person out there? so many musicians sing solely about their dating lives and its only a problem when women accept that this is how they stay relevant in the media.
and like a consequence of taylor using her dating life to her advantage is that those people become public discourse. I think there is a reason why she doesnt say much of anything about her relationship with joe on any of these albums but especially ttpd because i do think that although taylor uses her love life to her advantage, she doesnt do so maliciously and has serious conversations with people about how much they care about being private with their love life.
the way she treats the joe relationship has stayed pretty consistent and she has only ever touched upon what in that relationship made her emotionally cheat and then date ratty in ttpd and thats probably all she will ever be comfortable doing because she knows she doesnt have joe's consent for their relationship to be used for her business purposes. i can see part of the reason why we only really get songs about them falling in love on every album is because that's a generic enough type of song that it doesnt say much beyond basic details of how they met and how he made her feel supported.
and so much of this album is taylor trying to come to terms with the fact that SHE chose her life with joe just as much as he did with her, which is why she ends up at "we both did nothing wrong" and "we just didnt know how to love each other correctly" several times on the record because SHE is just as much to blame for choosing to change herself for love. SHE made the decision to change her strategy when it comes to romance to hold onto the idea of what she thought it'd be like to be with joe.
and it's just wild to me to expect the fandom to not have opinions on quotes given to the public from the figures themselves about their feelings on the matter. like, i cannot make it any clearer that if a celebrity doesnt want you to know something, you wouldn't.

Like ok i dont think i ever talked too much about Varric's death here but here's my issues with it.
While I do think the scene itself hits emotionally, Varric's death is kinda of a disservice both to him and the narrative. Because Varric dies at the very beggining of the game, and we only learn of it at the end, which means neither Rook or anyone else is ever allowed to properly grief Varric.
Like. Harding knew Varric for over 10 years at least, and while some scenes in hindsight, do show that she is upsrt over his death and regretful over not being able to save him, she is not allowed to ACTUALLY grieve him because Rook doesn't know he's dead and if she did that, it would break the narrative. Isabela was one of his friends for YEARS and she's also not allowed to grieve him. Maevaris was his family and she also doesnt get to say anything about it. Rook knew him and worked with hims for over a year and they're not allowed to grieve him either, so Varric's death just happens and we don't get a funeral, we dont get anything, like sure we have a scene where rook says their goodbyes but thats it. And this is without counting that it just feels weird that NO ONE EVER talks to Rook about it. Like. Sorry, its just really hard to believe that after MONTHS of Rook saying 'ill go talk to varric' does no one pull them aside and say hey listen, its been 5 months, you should know the truth. It also means that every other NPC who's met AND known Varric is also in on the secret???
And for a character as significant as Varric...it doesnt feel fair. Doesnt feel fair to him, or to any of the NPCs who knew him, or even to Rook. HELL he doesnt even get to haunt the narrative because you take other important NPCs deaths.
Like Varric's role is somewhat similar to Duncan - he's the mentor figure to the PC who recruits them early on and then who dies, making the PC have to take on the role of leader. But Duncan's death is treated way differently.
Not only do you get to spend more time with duncan while he's alive, so you actually get to define a bond between him and the warden, Duncan is also always being brought back in a way. Alistair will talk about him a lot, but also, he shows up in your fade dream. You get to talk about duncan, and you get to feel what his death means for the warden. And if you bring alistair to the temple of sacred ashes, duncan is brought up AGAIN. AND WHEN YOU DEFEAT THE ARCHDEMON, HIS NARRATION COMES BACK TOO. Duncan, while being there not for so long, defines this fucking game and haunts the narrative from beggining to end.
Varric gets what. 10, 20 minutes of screen time where hes actually alive and rook cant really talk to him because the world is fucking ending. The player can never really establish a proper relationship with him. And because the truth of his death only comes to light MUCH later on, you dont even have time to process that since you still have the end of the game.
and his death doesnt even fit the narrative of regret. I was talking to @commanderofthegrey about it and the issue with regret in this game as a theme is that sure, you're beaten over the head with it, but Rook....doesnt really have anything to ACTUALLY regret. I think the game doesnt really know how regret works, because all situations that rook is put in and they make a choice that leads to a bad outsoe is a situation where there was NEVER a good outcome to begin with. Minrathous v. treviso, harding/davrin, bellara/neve, there was never a better option. One city would always get fucked over, one companion would always die and one would get kidnapped, there was NOTHING Rook could have done to prevent ANYTHING.
Because, and this is my take on it, feel free to disagree, but to me regret is about....yeah you could have actually done something to change the outcome but you didnt, so now you have to live with the waht ifs. To me, regret kinda goes hand in hand with blaming one self. If I hadn't done XYZ, or if I had done that, things would have gone differently. Like, take Leandra's death - part of the reason why it hits hard its because it was preventable. If the city guard had actually gone to investigate it, if Hawke had paid more attention to their mother, than maybe they would have caught Quentin. But we'll never know. THAT'S regret.
Regret is not just being upset about an outcome. Is knowing you COULD HAVE done something and didn't. Hell, this is why there is the specific brand of the regret that is 'oh i didnt take the chance' bc you regret NOT doing smthg.
And how does Varric's death tie into this? I cant fucking tell you, because Varric's death is not a thing that Rook should have any regret over. They didn't cause his death, Varric did things out of his own volition that Rook could NEVER prevent, they didnt even KNOW about his death until 5 minutes ago, why is he showing up in the regret prison? Solas has reasons to regret varric's death, so im wondering if maybe thats it? Solas and Rook's feelings are so merged or whatever that Solas's regrets are bleeding into Rook's? Is that the answer?
i could go on. about how varric's death is underutilized, how solas could have done other things too, but like idk i just feel like for a character as important as motherfucking Varric Thetras, his death holds little weight.
does anyone know why the fuck was Gaider so weirdly fixated in killing Varric? Like he has gone on record to say they were going to kill Varric in the exalted march DLC that got scrapped, and then there was supposed to be a scene where corypheus attacks skyhold and Varric was also supposed to die there.
And its always Gaider talking about killing varric and the symbolism and wahtever but i'm gonna be honest with you, in none of those instances, and not even in veilguard, did i think Varric's death would make any sense.
Like idk im just kinda peculiar about character deaths because most times, its done more to hurt the viewer than to actually serve the narrative or to end that character's arc, and i dont think any of varric's deaths did that, they all just felt like a cheap way to make the player cry

Hi MT
Im not gonna lie. I dont care if Carol comes back by saving Daryl,i just want her back with him. It is not such a used trope i think in media, the man saving his girl is still the overused one for me, even if its getting better. And yes, its a repetition of whats gonna happen in Summit, but its good, because it means that they (amc, the writers, gimple, whatever...) know, even if uncounsciously/unwillingly, that Carol is for Daryl the equivalent of Michonne for Rick. Unlike you, i dont consider their stories to be that different. The only difference is canon. Apart from that, for example, as soon as they arrived in Alexandria, Richonne lived together with Carl and Judith. And guess what? Caryl did the same. Until, for God knows why, they had her kind of move in with Tobin. But i disgress. And its ok to disagree.
But it never crossed Amc etc... minds, unlike some shippers would have wanted, to have a carzekiel spin off, or a donnie one. There ks a reason for that. Can u imagine a spin off centered on Rick and anyone else than Michonne? Same for Daryl. Its not Connie or whoever who is gonna save Daryl or whatever. Its Carol.
Caryl might stay forever platonic and never go canon, but i think its safe to assume that at the end of it all (either end of s2 or in another show once everybody reunited with Rick), they re gonna leave together. New Mexico on a bike could still happen.
As for CP character, i think its also safe to assume that they didnt kiss in s1 wich is done filming. If they had, we would have heard abt it by now (there have been a few spoiling photos for other spin offs.... without spoiling too much myself for u or ur readers, even if i think you dont care since you dont plan to watch).
I dont think we have to worry abt Isabel or Isobel or whatever. Yes, he's going to question his loyalty blablabla, but its not gonna last.Have a lot of other things to say, but its too long already. Will wait for another time!
Hi back. Just a heads up, you brought up a few points that I feel strongly about, so if it sounds like I'm yelling at you, I'm not. Like you said, we can disagree, and I look forward to hearing more of your thoughts.
Carol saving Daryl means she'll be active and she'll have a strong emotional drive, so I support that as well. There are still ways to distinguish Caryl's and Richonne's arcs, but I ultimately don't care if it turns out both shows have the women saving the men's asses which then lead to beautiful reunions. If that concerns AMC, then they probably should've stuck to the original premise for the Caryl spinoff. If there's a chance to circle back to the idea of Caryl going on a road trip together like fans wanted in the first place, that would be exciting. I'm all for it.
But just because we can draw parallels between the two couples, even though we can acknowledge that Daryl is in love with Carol just like Rick is in love with Michonne and vice versa, that doesn't mean their stories are the same. They're not. They don't share the same histories or the same experiences or the same traumas. They came together in different ways and they've grown together in different ways. Apples and oranges.
You're right that I won't watch S1 of le spinoff, and that's for a few reasons. One, because I don't condone how it came to exist in the first place. Two, because I want to close the significant pay gap between Norman and Melissa. Three, because it's obvious it won't respect Caryl's relationship or Daryl's character. It doesn't matter that he and CP's character won't actually get together or kiss, etc. What matters is the fact that AMC will tease the shit out of it like they did with Daryl's three other younger non love interests, which subjects Melissa to more ageism even if she's not involved in the story and subjects Caryl fans to more misery even if they don't watch. Melissa's/Carol's absence is going to hang over the show no matter what.
It's infuriating that AMC does so much for their male stars/EP's, more than most of them deserve, but they have no problem throwing the women to the wolves. It's infuriating if they still assume they can take advantage of Caryl/Carol fans' loyalty by playing the same manipulative games they have been for years without delivering on their promises, one of those promises being (unambiguous!) canon. Caryl were written to be romantic, whether their haters want to see that or not. It's important for story integrity, for Daryl's and Carol's character growth, and for onscreen representation. I can't give AMC my viewership/subscription if nothing changes.

sorry but i'm going to have to disagree. rtd's comment SOUNDS innocent and well meaning, but when sacha, an asian villain wore jodie's clothes it was fine and nothing has been said about that, but when its tennant thats unthinkable?? also, jodie specifically went to her designer and asked for an androgynous outfit because she'd seen a gnc person and wanted the doctor to be similar - why wouldn't they be? the doctor's gender is literally fluid. in the most literal sense of the word. i was hoping for some in-universe explanation for the clothes change but if its just that, i'm going to be genuinely disappointed.
i appreciate disliking the choice (i'm not actually a fan of it myself just pointing out some potential thoughts behind it + getting fed up of people spreading lies about what was actually said), but i'll repeat my pov on your points here!
"when sacha, an asian villain wore jodie's clothes it was fine and nothing has been said about that, but when its tennant thats unthinkable??"
thats exactly the point though, right? the subset that WOULD make horrible comments about it, are the type of people who also wouldn't blink twice at a “villain” “crossdressing” lets be real here. a lot of media plays that up. similar to how the reaction to whittaker!doctor and gomez!master was quite different. its different when its the actual lead. RTD would v likely know this (but bear in mind, RTD likely didn't know Dhawan!Doctor was happening in tPotD when he was planning the regeneration scene)
Dhawan almost immediately switched out for a mix of all the Doctor's outfits and eventually gets back to his Rasputin fit, it’s not his ONE look for the episode compared to it would have been 100% of DT’s screentime
with Dhawan Doctor, it was in the middle of an episode which Chibnall wrote apparently thinking the show was being CANCELLED (so like, didnt need to think abt the media reaction as much even if it had OCCURRED to him to do so)
coming out of the episode, what were all the headlines about? the regeneration. Tennant. which is what ALWAYS happens with these eps. RTD probably suspected this was going to be the main chat of the next YEAR before there’s new eps because that’s what ALWAYS gets the attention/publicity.
"also, jodie specifically went to her designer and asked for an androgynous outfit because she'd seen a gnc person and wanted the doctor to be similar - why wouldn't they be? the doctor's gender is literally fluid. in the most literal sense of the word."
Sure and the whole REASON Whittaker herself had to emphasise "these are not women’s clothes they’re the doctor’s clothes" "anyone can wear them" etc. etc. back when she first started is because SHE knew the public/media reaction too and was trying to get ahead of it in the same way as RTD is with this.
RTD hasn't said the Doctor is cis, or can't be played by a woman again, or that cosplayers can't dress as 13 (or whatever people are making up now) it's purely about the REAL WORLD reaction of having Tennant be the last shot of the ep, the ONLY official shot of his Doctor we would have had for a whole YEAR for the vultures to potentially latch on to. The Doctor doesn't exist in a vacuum.
"i was hoping for some in-universe explanation for the clothes change but if its just that, i'm going to be genuinely disappointed."
this still might happen!! the article (that i know of) doesn't say anything about whether it'll play into the plot. i'm hoping it will too, especially as the end of tPotD plays it up as feeling so Wrong/out of place (which... again is probably why RTD didn't want Tennant in Whittaker's outfit here if that was the vibe he was going for!!! the optics there would have been very 😬)

Re8 ladies with a s/o who is/used to be an assassin?
OOOOOH I ACTUALLY HAVE AN OC/READER INSERT WITH THIS BACKGROUND :DDDDD
Hope you enjoy ❤
Included: Mother Miranda, Mia Winters, Donna Beneviento, Alcina Dimitrescu, Bela Dimitrescu, Cassandra Dimitrescu, Daniela Dimitrescu
Mother Miranda
Technically you're on the run from your organization
So naturally you run into her
Because fuck your life
At first she wants to kill you but she notices the string of dead lycans behind you and the fact that you arent injured at all
She reevaluates
And decides she wants to keep you
Which goes equally as bad
You are not a pet (you've been treated as such enough, you're tired of it)
Miranda always loved to break them in, but ffs you werent breaking
And you showed brains??
Its goes slowly, but the two of you transition from I will kill you to you're okay...I guess
Then to hesitant friendship
Then you're both in love, and when did that happen?
Probably when the BSAA decided to drop in real casual and try to kill Miranda
And you tore them down so fast, you werent going to let someone hurt her
Yeah she liked that
And you ended up being a very scary power couple, with an intense love
Mia Winters
You tell Mia from the start what shes getting into
She takes in stride because- surprise! Shes not doing any better.
You are actually the one that saves her from Eveline, and you do it with actual intelligence instead of whatever the fuck Ethan was doing
You two are pretty much glued together after that
(And yeah, maybe Mia was having an affair on Ethan, shes not a very moral character anyways)
Donna Beneviento
You do not inform her from the get go
You're running from them you cant be telling people
Unfortunately they've been doing this longer than you, and they find you relatively quickly and are determined to bring you back
You dont want to go back
They threaten Donna and fuck now you have to go to keep her safe
Donna does NOT want you to go (you're hers, no theirs, how dare they try to take you away?!)
And she loses it on them, throwing them into a hardcore hallucination that ends up killing all of them relatively fast
You two definitely have a talk though
Alcina Dimitrescu
Alcina has been around long enough to recognize someone with a secret
All she did was ensure that it wasnt one that was like- I'm here to kill you
And she accepted it, and even swore to protect you if it was that kind of secret
It was
You're...organization was a special one
It handled its...employees with little care and made them incredibly suggestible if they didnt comply with orders
They drugged tf out of them
And once they find you, they drug you immediately and tell you to kill alcina and the daughters
She can recognize that you arent yourself and quickly knocks you out before exacting revenge on your behalf
You reluctantly inform her of your...past and she assures you that you're still welcome
....just dont teach Cassandra anything
Bela Dimitrescu
You were sent to kill her family, to blend in as a maid
The first night however you were picked out by Bela and taken for a small private feeding
And became smitten with her
As you found yourself unable to comply with your orders you delicately told her what you were
She was very upset and almost turned you over to Cassandra
She felt betrayed, and by someone she was fond of no less!
It takes a while for her to trust you but eventually you regain it when you take some stupid man thing out for trying to kill her
You promise to never lie again and you leave it in the past
Cassandra Dimitrescu
You're about to die at her hands when you make a comment about her doing it wrong
She stops and looks at you before tilting her head and questioning you
Eventually your previous occupation comes to light and shes delighted
She makes you her pet, which vehemently disagree with, stating you would rather die
She doesnt listen
After a while she grows on you, and apparently she likes you??
Because you used to murder as your job?
Murder buddies ig
Daniela Dimitrescu
Shes surprisingly smart when it comes to reading people
She guessed within three minutes of what was stressing you out
Which is alarming for you, but you cant really lie (she can hear your heartbeat)
She attaches herself to you after that so you now come with a clingy redhead
Congrats
But well- you've always been a sucker for pretty women and you're basically at her beck and call
She starts to call you her knight and you call her princess
Which obviously leads to her kissing you
Everyone else thinks you're sickeningly sweet though
