Subtext and Culture, Young Royals, Season 3, Episode 2
Episode 2 starts days or maybe a week after episode 1. The curfews and phone ban is in place, so Wilhelm and Simon make the most of their one hour of phone sex talking.
Blink and you miss it: Wilhelm snapped a quick instant picture of himself and Simon at the palace in the last episode, using the camera we saw on his desk. The heart is still on his hand, so maybe it's the next day, or maybe he's been filling it in every day.
Cinematography: Intense red light typically symbolizes their mutual love, and this scene is overflowing with it.
Lost in translation: They both finish the phone call with "puss", which means kiss, but not exactly. It's more platonic, something you can say and do with your parents, or your kids, or end phone calls with. The other word for kiss, "kyss", is more romantic/sexual, and would be super weird to end a phone call with. Simon is using that word when he says he would kiss Wilhelm's collar bone birth mark.
Subtext: Of course Vincent doesn't believe anyone was bullied. He's the biggest bully, but what he does is just a joke, or the other guy deserved it. This is gonna be a recurring theme™ in this episode, how various characters look back on and remember, or choose not to remember, what happened to them.
Subtext: If you didn't pick up this meaningful glance, you're blind. The initiation porno was totally real, and Nils and August clearly remember it, and weren't as flippant about it as Vincent.
Culture: In Sweden, inner city schools are typically better and have richer students than the poorer schools out in the suburbs. This is the exact opposite of the typical US school demographical pattern.
Subtext: Wilhelm avoids Farima's question by evading it. Note that it does make sense that she doesn't know what's going on at these schools since she's an employee, she's not upper-class herself. Wilhelm's parents know though since they attended Hillerska, but they would of course never admit it either.
Culture: Ironically, this is exactly how the real-world Danish royal family handled the Herlufsholm scandal in 2022 involving prince Christian. Only when the media storm in Denmark got too intense did they pull him out of the school, while furiously denying knowledge of the abuse or that he was involved in any way.
Cinematography: We're in the cursed music room, but the light is soft and golden, and the scene is just cute. No fight this time.
Subtext: We're touching the theme™ again, but from Simon's perspective. He has the same outsider perspective we have; speaking up about abuse is always good, and if the school's closing because of it, that's an obviously good thing. There's plenty of scenes in this episode showing that most Hillerska students don't share this perspective, they really love their school, as fucked up as it is.
Subtext: Although it sounds like a rehearsed PR line and Felice is thinking about her girl group here, it's gonna come true for her and Sara.
Subtext: Yuck. No further comment.
Cinematography: The immediate cut to Felice getting her aggressions out in gym class shows us exactly what she thought of what the principal said and how much it pissed her off.
Blink and you miss it: Simon audibly sniffs Wilhelm's hair.
Blink and you miss it: Micke made dinner for both of them, but in her depression, Sara ignores the cooked food (Pyttipanna, btw), and makes herself a cucumber sandwich instead.
Subtext: Micke is a man on a mission, and he is constantly steering the conversation towards helping Sara get her driver's license. For him, it's a way to make up for having been a shitty parent.
Culture: Sweden has long been a holdout of stick-shift cars, and if you don't do your practical test in a stick-shift, you'll get a restricted license, so it's not out of the ordinary for Micke to be teaching Sara how to drive one. However, automatics have seen a sharp rise in the last decade, and in 2024 automatics will finally overtake them.
Culture: The green ÖVNINGSKÖRNING sign is compulsory in Sweden if a car is being driven by someone on a learner's permit, with a parent or friend as the instructor. There's also a red version of the sign, which indicates it's a student driver with a professional instructor in a dual control car.
Cinematography: The room is filled to the brim with things to do, there's a bazillion board games, they have books, magazines, fidget thingies, they're drowning in stuff, and yet the girls are still soooooo boooored just because they don't have their phones. Except Madison, who is knitting.
Subtext: Here comes the theme™ again, and Fredrika is firmly in camp denial. Everyone else is just lying and exaggerating! The wheels are starting to turn in Felice's head though.
Subtext: Nils and August are finally talking about the initiation without Vincent being present, and they can finally be honest about what they actually thought about it. It happened, they didn't like.
Subtext: Their idea of fixing it however is not to go out publicly and talk about it, but to just quietly stop the tradition, hoping they'll be the last ones. (Since there are no second-year students in the show, we have no idea what happened to them, so we're just gonna ignore that.)
Subtext: And here comes the reason that August wanted to put a stop to it. He was completely humiliated by it, and he doesn't want anyone else to know that he was humiliated, because that just makes it worse. This is also the reason that traditions like this keep on going, no-one wants to blow the whistle on it, because everyone was abused, everyone was a victim, it's hard for abuse victims to speak up.
Cinematography: The talk with Nils triggered an anxiety attack for August, and being inside his small room doesn't exactly help. Him going so close to the camera that he almost bumps into it really shows how he feels like the walls are closing in on him.
Culture: This, kids, is a standard Swedish landline telephone jack. For the longest time I thought phone jacks looked like this everywhere, but it turns out that this particular design was only used in Sweden and Iceland(!?!). You won't find these in newer buildings because landlines are pretty much dying out, and if there are phone jacks they'll probably be using the much more common RJ-11 standard.
Culture: This, kids, is an Ericsson Diavox phone. The former government phone monopoly in Sweden, Televerket, only allowed certified and approved phones to be used on the network, and they only approved a very small set of phones, so everyone had pretty much the same phones in their homes. However, in the 1980's the market started getting flooded with "illegal" phones from other countries, so the monopoly simply stopped enforcing the rule, and you could finally, finally, plug in that novelty Garfield phone that you always wanted.
Blink and you miss it: Sara is studying for her driving test, and she's reading about driving in the dark.
Subtext: We're gearing up for the main plotline of the season, dropping more hints that maybe Wilhelm's image of Erik wasn't complete, and what August says sows some seeds of doubt in him.
Subtext: This song is objectively not very good, please don't kill me, but it is very sixteen-year-old-boy-just-singing-from-his-heart, not thinking about the text.
Subtext: Simon isn't wearing anything purple, but just after he posts his song video, he picks up a purple shirt, drops it immediately, and then the camera lingers on it. Colour theory goes brrrrrrrr. He thought about Wilhelm, and then stopped because his music is more important to him or something?
Subtext: Unlike Simon, Wilhelm immediately understands how problematic the text is for him, and how people will interpret it...
Subtext: ...but since he doesn't want to hurt Simon's feelings, he lies about why he thinks the song was a very, very bad idea. And he cushions it by telling Simon that he thinks the song is jätte-jätte-bra. Giant-giant-good.
Subtext: Yes, but also no, and someone from the court really should have given Simon some media training and explained to him why he has to be very careful about what he posts. But it's drama fuel, which is why this disaster is allowed to happen.
Subtext: A nice little throwback to season 1, this is exactly what Erik told Wilhelm in the first episode, about making sure that their public image is carefully curated.
Subtext: That's some on-the-nose foreshadowing there, since Felice is one of the main causes for the school ultimately closing.
Subtext: We're back to the theme™, Fredrika is saying pretty much the same thing as Vincent. It didn't happen, and if it did, it wasn't that bad.
Subtext: However, Felice isn't playing along this time, she's starting to speak up about the issues, and the result is a long, awkward silence, because her friends are not willing to do the same.
Subtext: Wilhelm and the rest of the rich kids are of course all wearing pretty expensive high-end hiking gear, in contrast with Simon who is simply wearing one of his usual hoodies and his usual winter jacket that we've seen before. That's a damn fine jacket from Fjällräven, btw, the same company that makes the weirdly globally popular Kånken backpacks.
Blink and you miss it: Henry is getting dragged for his actually quite reasonable objection to the tent groupings.
Subtext: Felice physically distances herself from her friends, and joins Simon and Wilhelm, in a nice little foreshadowing of the show's ending.
Blink and you miss it: Did you miss the line in last episode where Ayub said they were also gonna go camping at Talludden with their classmates from Marieberg? Well, here they are, because they pitched their tents nearby, and decided to go check out the Hillerska camp. It's not just Rosh and Ayub randomly walking through the woods.
Subtext: In season 2, we learned that Stella has a crush on Fredrika that she thinks is one-sided, but Fredrika sure has some kind of reaction to seeing Stella being close with Rosh. Jealousy, perhaps? Not clear at this point in time.
Subtext: Read the room Fredrika, for fuck's sake. At least Wilhelm has started learning to recognize privilege. The other rich kids probably recognize their privilege, but they're mostly just enjoying how much better they are than the poor regular kids.
Subtext: But Wilhelm's still got a lot more to learn. Yes, technically he is forced to spend his summer studying, and technically it is a kind of work, but the underlying reasons are completely different. If he skips it or fails, nothing bad will happen to him, unlike the Marieberg kids who rely on their summer jobs to have any sort of spending money.
Lost in translation: Wilhelm's dad says that the queen is going to be "sjukskriven", which is more serious than someone deciding on their own to take some time off or to use some sick days. It means that a doctor has evaluated you and decided that you are not fit to work, and that if you're a regular person, you are eligible for sick pay for the foreseeable future.
Cinematography: Yeah, mommy is really sick and Wilhelm is feeling the weight of responsibility, but take a look at that sunrise! It's so pretty! Wilhelm is completely in shadow because trouble whatever, but look at how that light just pops, with the sky and the water and the sun on the trees! Beautiful!

Thoughts and pictures - S3E4
I've never been that slow with a Young Royals rewatch >< It's hard for me to get through this season (especially now that I'm in the last 3 episodes...)
And here we go, starting directly with a very sad Simon 😞 Omar plays a crying Simon way too well, it breaks my heart every damn time...
I like hearing Wilhelm call Simon his boyfriend 🥰 Also is it me, or do we have a lot more close up shots in season 3? (No clue if that's what it's called, I mean shots that are very zoomed in on their faces like this one.)
Vincent drawing a dick on the ground, of course... And I don't get his explanation: "why even try if there's no reward for the effort?". It means if the school closes, they all won't graduate and have to do their grade all over again? Surely if they're taking tests and all, it counts for something? Why fail an important test and take the risk to fail your year? 🤔 (Not gonna lie, most of Vincent's reactions to what's happening to the school this season left me quite perplexed ^^') And if it's just the graduation ceremony that is cancelled, it still doesn't mean they're not graduating, does it? 🤔
But can you really Simon?
And Wilhelm repeating his mother's words "it's a privilege, not a punishment" breaks my heart >< (Also I'm gonna be a little shit about it but even the Royals have a choice in the end about accepting or not their role and job: after all, Wille is gonna renounce it in 2 episodes :p)
I do like what he said about the role of the royal family in Sweden! We have very little information on that in the show so I appreciate it here. And he looks so pretty in this light!
Wilhelm sounded so surprised that Farima said yes immediately when he told her they needed to help Simon. He was expecting to have to fight them on that.
Why did he have to delete his whole account? Why not just put it on private? (I know I've read in several fanfics the idea that searching and deleting through all the new people who followed him before going on private would be too much of a hassle but I feel like it's a stretch, and an acceptable price to pay to keep his account?)
Their conversation about Wilhelm's choice of foundation makes me so so sad! I had hoped that he would see Simon's point of view on how he can use his role as Crown Prince to try and make things better! I was actually pretty surprised that he was 100% not interested. It's a new facet of Wilhelm's personality that we hadn't really seen before I guess? And it feels like it creates a serious gap between them, it shows that they're not on the same page at all about a pretty serious subject (which is not good for the future of their relationship...)
This shot of these 3 made me laugh :p
This one hurts... Another crack in their relationship 😩 Simon is realizing how different they are. He knew they were but this season is showing us a side of Wilhelm that just seems incompatible with Simon :/ It's not just differences in tastes or personality, now it's differences in their core values also. And that is a huge problem.
So we learn that Simon mostly avoided Micke for Sara's sake. Or maybe he's exaggerating that fact because he's really angry at her.
The sit-in scene is very funny, they're all so dramatic, thinking they might starve to death xD I didn't think that August's eating disorder would be confirmed this way! Also I guess Vincent does have ADHD then? It was not just an excuse to get pills.
"Because we are different?" Yeah... that's what this episode is really about, how different you both are. Which wouldn't be an issue for me if it was less about such important matters :/ I wish we had seen them learn more from each other this season, instead of being in conflict to much.
I agree with Felice that it's getting out of hand! (I still enjoy the whole thing though 😁). I don't dislike Stella as much as a lot of people seem to, but I don't like her in this scene and how she talks to Felice!
Cutest scene of the episode.
I adore this scene. It makes me want to cry. I love them both and I'm so happy that they're slowly finding their way back to each other <3
"Erik was there." This sceeeeene!! Such a punch in the face, so fucking terrible >< (So well acted also!!)
Another trauma for my poor boy...
So lots of mixed feelings with this episode! I'm very frustrated with Wilhelm and his reactions, but I love the Sara arc. I really like the end of the episode, with some very good scenes. But now I really don't wanna go watch the next one ><
#Young Royals#Young Royals season 3#yr S3E4#Wilmon#Prince Wilhelm#Simon Eriksson#my little thoughts#another hard episode to watch#though the whole sit-in makes me laugh#but Simon is so incredibly sad#it's very hard to watch#and Wilhelm is disappointing#his reaction to choosing a foundation for his birthday really irks me#I do love him#but I really dislike how they made him not care about anything#he's so obsessed over having a “normal life” in this episode#and not wanting to do anything of substance/value in his life#I don't like it 😩#anyway#again it's a very long post#so congrats if you got to the end ^^#2 more episodes and I'll be done with this season#(don't know how I'll survive those though ><)#my S3 analysis

One thing that really stuck out to me in Young Royals season 3 is how so many of the characters put so much energy in defending systems that actively hurt them. This is shown both large scale with the monarchy and small scale with the Hillerska ecosystem.
The monarchy and Hillerska brought the worst parts of Erik's characters to light and although he did not show it, I'm sure he suffered from the pressure too. And still he made sure to always keep up appearances and to teach both August and Wille how to uphold the system.
The Queen got serious health problems from all the pressure. She lost her relationship to her only remaining son to the system. And... she spends all her energy upholding the system.
Even Wille tries to live up the mold that so clearly doesn't fit him. And he subjects Simon to some of the same rules.
August had to suffer through that horrible initiation, he got bullied and felt lonely in his first year of Hillerska - but the only hope he sees is trying to profit from the Hillerska system by becoming principal. Also, he loves the monarchy despite the monarchy not loving him back.
The other Hillerska boys also cling to their traditions despite having suffered, too. They even start a petition and a strike so that everything can stay the same (except for a somewhat less bad initiation).
Sara suffers from the class difference but she wants to climb up that latter.
In contrast to that, Simon and Felice want a revolution. And Wille too, and he's almost ready to finally fully go through with it.

For Simon Month 2024 Day 17: Friendship (and also kinda Secrets)
Simon and Felice finally have *that* conversation.
Read on ao3 or below the cut
thank you as always @youngroyals-events <3
"Can I ask you a question?"
“Hmm?” Felice replied. Simon sat next to her, all curls and sunshine. He was really so beautiful, she realized, and it was hard to unsee now. She questioned how she hadn’t seen the light he exuded sooner. It made her happy that of all people, Wille had.
“What exactly happened between you and Wille?” At the words, she turned her head towards Simon and took off her sunglasses.
“Has he not told you?” She asked incredulously.
Simon was silent for a moment, pushing around the lake’s rocky sand with a stick. “We kind of decided not to talk about it. At first, it was my idea. But then I brought it up and he got sort of quiet, and it just felt like too much, at the time, for either of us.”
Felice nodded, looking off in the distance at Wille and Sara’s figures. They were paddling through the water by the dock, completely illuminated by sunlight. The conversation was inevitable, but she could sense Simon’s nervousness radiating off of him. It made her chest fall to know that while she didn’t feel exactly guilty, their carelessness had hurt him.
“We kissed in his room, and lay down for a bit. But nothing under the clothes. Thank god for Henry, really,” she said, and they both laughed.
“Yeah, that would’ve made things a lot worse for everyone.” She studied Simon with care. He was still looking intently down at the ground, a small colony of shells and leaves surrounding lines in the sand around him.
“Did he kiss you first?” Simon asked, his voice smaller.
She had asked herself the same question many times. It felt like a shared moment, messy ends that she and Wille had to tie up together. Had she taken advantage of his vulnerability? Had he used her prior feelings for him to feel better in the moment? It was hard to say. Either way, it was a kettle that boiled over, and it scalded everyone in its path.
“I think it was both of us.” She said, and Simon’s face scrunched up slightly as he nodded. It hurt to see the pain on his delicate features.
“That’s sort of what I thought,” Simon stated. A moment later, he asked, “was it the first time?”
Felice was going to give Wille a stern talking to after this. She’d assumed that Simon would at least know about her feelings for Wille, and by extension that unfortunate day she kissed him at the family luncheon. Her heart hurt, suddenly, for Simon. She had to remind herself that they weren’t together at the time; either time, in fact. Felice had no clue about Simon and Wille the first time she kissed him, and the second time they kissed Simon was officially dating someone else - and had made out with Wille himself while dating said other person. It certainly wasn’t the worst crime of everything that had happened in the last year.
“No,” she leveled. Simon nodded, then shook his head.
“He really pisses me off, sometimes.” But he smiled and looked at Felice, and she smiled back.
“He’s lucky you’re stupidly in love with him. I don’t know how,” she teased, swatting him with her fan. “When I stopped liking him like that, I quickly realized I actually couldn’t stand him.”
“Hey!” Simon laughed, shoving her lightly back. “That’s my boyfriend you’re talking about.” Her heart fluttered for him. The more she learned about Simon, the more she liked him. It came out in all the small things: his snarky comments, his quiet confidence in his voice, his back and forth with Sara. But it was also in the way he doted endlessly on his sister, and stood up for himself, and refused to take Wille’s shit (something she knew had been a work in progress after everything that had happened, but even so.) How he held his head high at Hillerska despite the bullshit, which she was still learning more about every day.
“Simon?” She said, swinging her legs apart and sitting up to look him in the eye.
“Yeah?” He finally dropped the stick and looked at her.
“I really admire you, you know.” It could have been a trick of the light, or a freshly blooming sunburn, but Felice thought she saw a faint blush on Simon’s cheeks. “And I’m really sorry, for everything. I wish I could’ve been there more.”
“Don’t be,” Simon shook his head, looking back out over the lake. “You were there plenty, for Wille, anyway. That’s what he needed. What we needed.”
Felice nodded, accepting this answer. By now, Wille had found some kind of big stick and was chasing Sara with it in the water.
“At what point do we stop this,” she chuckled. Simon shrugged, an amused smile on his face.
“Not our job.” They laughed together.
“I’m happy that we get this.” Felice said, and reached her hand towards him. Surprise played across Simon’s face, but he reached his hand out and clasped hers. “I want to get to know you, really know you, outside of Wille.” He smiled tentatively.
“I’d like that. I’d like that a lot.”

Young Royals Finale reaction
EP6
Can’t believe the episode is 57 minutes long!!! That is such a blessing!!!! 57 MINUTES!!!
Chucking us right back in there… Simon just left that night? Like…?
„And Simon is right. I have to take responsibility for my own problems. I can’t drag him down with me.“ Pfffuuuuuuhhhhhh that hurts… Like I know he is right.. They are both right…
Love that jumper that Simon is wearing
Seeing Sara and Simon be friends again is so so soooooo healing for my soul.
I love that pep talk that Sara gives Simon about their dad. And maybe the second chance will also apply to Simon’s relationship with Wille?
That poem is by Karin Boye - that’s the one Lisa posted with the trailer....!
Is this the first time Wille and Sara actually spoke to one another? Season 3, episode 6? 😅
So Hillerska is closing down. Even though it shouldn’t be, that is still a shock! But a good one! I love that as a resolution for everything
August having a breakdown in front of everyone after calling them to reason. He is like the only one who can’t stand the discord. And I love him for it
„But everything around here still reminds me of him.“ AAASDIH OIFHAIEFH ASDFV SDF
I’m sorry, but everyone calls their parents or talks to their best friends. Only Wille’s fucking parents don’t bother calling their son. He speaks to fucking Farima again! (Sorry, I love farima, I’m just sooooo over Wille’s parents being shit parents)
Wille looking at Simon through the bookshelves before going up to him… 💜💜💜💜
It breaks my heart that they can’t even say how they feel, they are so broken by this breakup.. But also weirdly, this also feels like one of the first really honest conversations they have
Henry interrupting them is soo funny…. He just has noooo radar :)))
„We could stay here and feel like crap together“ 😂
HE CALLED SIMON THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE!!!!!!!!! I mean, we all knew that, but still - THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE!!!!!!!
Love that Felice called him ‚Party Prince‘ :))) also, it feels like Felice has her personality back :)) Nice to see the real Felice again :)))
Simon lying on the football field and playing with the fake sand…. My heeeaaaaarrrtttt!!!!!
Lol Simon did you really think you got closure? From what?
REVOLUTION IS PLAYING!!!!!
„Erik would’ve loved you no matter what“ - this is the moment where I start crying.
This is such a good apology, August.. And Malte is giving it everything… I love this scene. This is so so so important… Also, I’m crying now, and I probably won’t stop now that I’ve started..
„Yes, I have feelings for August. But I have stronger and more important feelings for you. And for Simon, and for myself.“ As an aroace person, this made my heart sing. FRIENDSHIP!!!!! PREACH!!!
„That was the best day of my life.“ Oh Saraaa….. I love you… I know you and Felice will be fine.. You will be fine, I can feel it!!
Nils officially coming out to Vincent and August 🏳️🌈 love it :) even Vincent has a good side, hidden somewhere very deep deep down, but it is there :)
„I see you, but I don’t think you see me. You’re in love with the person you become with me.“ She is soooo right. So right. And it breaks my heart that they won’t be together, but…. She is so right about this
Malte, you are such an incredible actor - how have we all not seen this before?!?!?!?!?!
„It’ll pass“ - that is such an iconic line that I will forgive you for stealing it from fleabag :))
It’s so brave of Simon to go up to Wille.
I cannot even begin to write down my feelings about the next few scenes. I was crying the whole time, shaking, sobbing, all over the place. They are sooo beautiful. The way they look at each other. Cherishing the moment. AND WHEN WILLE STARTED SINGING ‚IT TAKES A FOOL TO REMAIN SANE‘ ökdfn oäwiAFGBNÖOUERBGTÖAOIRBSYDÖFGOXVABN I can’t watch this be the end of them. I can’t.
Also, the song Alice is beautiful for all of this. Poetic cinema.
Frederika & stella :)
WHEN IS THAT SONG GOING TO BE ON SPOTIFY? I WANT TO LISTEN TO THIS FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER.
I love the slight change of the lyrics too.. „Cause we were a revolution“ from „I can be your revolution.“
Wille is looking at August like he has a plan. I SMELL AN ABDICATION :)))
And they sing Simon’s Song? This is toooo much!!!!! I love it!!!! But also why did no one tell Simon about that?
The way they fade that song over the next few scenes… Have I already mentioned that I am crying my eyes out?
So, the queen had a serious health concern. And now she is just fine? She has sought out therapy for like one day and apologizes to her son? Like, how does that work so quickly?
But also, I love it. Wille deserves parents who are there for him.
Wille, what are you thinking? What are you going to doooooo???? Abdication is coming, I can feel it…!!!
Why are they having a conversation about how it was in vain, or not? This is not going in the right direction.
„I never gave up on you. I gave up on the royal family.“ - Wille, your path is clear!!!!! You HAVE to take it!!!
Goodbye? Nooo? Why???? „I hope you have a nice summer.“ What the fuck? That is not the throwback I needed? Hello? Why are you walking away? Noooo, come back!!!! Simooooooon!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAHHHH!!
„They were friends who threw money at the problem instead of listening.“ THANK YOU!!
Just ride off into the sunset together, you two 💜
The Queen saying she’s proud of Wille is such an empty thing.
He is fumbling his collar. He is getting out of that car.
„One day you will be a fantastic king.“ - Say it! Say it, Wille!! SAY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
„What happens if I don’t want to?“ YEEEEEEESSSSS, REVOLUTION BABY!!!!!!
This is the growth that Edvin talked about. Talking about his issues calmly, productively. Putting it simply. Being heard. Understood. He is fucking abdicating here and it is working. I LOVE IT!
„The thing with Simon“ - the disrespect!!!! I am done with this woman. He is the love of his life, ok?
„I don’t want this.“ - The smile when he says this.. 🥰 The first signs of the actual Wille coming out from all that pressure
The harmony theme starting to play as he leaves the car and the monarchy behind This is so freaking good!!!!! I freaking love this show
Haha, Simon waiting a minute before having Sara stop the car… Let him run :))
The music. The sunshine. The full trees. The fucking smiles on both of their faces. Fucking finally.
„For my own sake. … I want to be with you, Simon.“
The cheeky smile on Simon’s face just before he says, „what the hell do you think?“ nsyöljdnföojansAKENF KASJDNF LKJANSD
THEY ARE SMILING!!!! THEY ARE HUGGING!!! THEY ARE BOYFRIENDS!!!! THEY ARE ENDGAME!!!!!
I WILL NEVER EVER RECOVER FROM THIS HAPPINESS - THESE TWOOOOOOOOOO 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
THE MONTAGE…. 💜💜💜💜💜
THE WAY THE CUDDLE IN THE CAR - I AM FALLING IN LOVE WITH THEM ALL OVER AGAIN 💜💜💜💜💜
Also, I am in tears. Sobbing, shaking, laughing, crying. Truly, I have felt all the emotions this episode. I freaking love this show.

Wille's Month - Voicemail (Free Day)
day 31 @youngroyals-events thank you for everything (more coming in a separate post bc i have a lot of thanks to give)
A collection of voicemails left by Wille.
read below or on ao3 (G, 800)
Simon’s phone. March 29th, 2027, 4:29pm.
“Hi baby! I’m on my way home, I’m just about to stop at the store. Did you say we needed more milk? I’ll grab some anyway, I think I have a coupon. Oh my gosh, you’ll never believe what I saw on my lunch break today. I took a walk around the park and there was this little mama duck, and she had a little trail of babies following after her. I nearly cried. I was late getting back to the shop because I stayed to watch them swim around in the pond. And I- Oh, I just remembered I sent you a video of that. Well, I’m telling you again because it bears repeating. One of these days when we move out of the city, we should get a bunch of animals or something. I think I’d make a good farmer. Or would that make us ranchers? Anyway, I’ll see you in a few. I love you!”
Felice’s phone. November 11th, 2029, 7:13am.
“Felice, we have an issue. I’ve been following this recipe you sent so closely but I’ve managed to screw it up. Why do my egg whites look like this? … I just remembered you can’t see them. I’ll text you a picture. They’re all grainy and weird, though. Are you busy right now? This would be so much easier if we could do this on FaceTime or something. I’d owe you big time. I guess call me when you wake up, if you can? Love you. Thanks in advance.”
Linda’s phone. October 20th, 2027, 5:32pm.
“Hi Linda! Simon and I are running a bit late. Someone had to spend an extra thirty minutes fixing his— Hey! I’m trying to explain to your mom why it’s not my fault we’re late! Sorry, Linda. We’ll be there soon, I promise. Simon is being very safe, though, and definitely not taking his hands off the wheel to try to steal my phone. I made some new cookies with a recipe Felice gave me, too. I’m excited for you to try them! You have to actually give me a sincere review this time. I appreciated all your kindness last time, but I want you to be brutally honest about these ones. Okay, we’re about five minutes out. See you soon!”
August’s phone. February 1st, 2034, 9:48pm.
“Hi, August. It’s Wille. I saw a short clip of the ceremony today. Sorry I couldn’t make it. Mamma seems confident in you, and I actually think you’ll do a good job. I’m not calling you ‘Your Royal Highness’, though… I wish you the best. Bye.”
Sara's phone. July 15th, 2025, 3:06pm.
“Okay, I grabbed what you said. I think— Oh, sorry. Hi. It’s Wille. You know that. Listen, I am worried he’s getting suspicious. I’m bad at keeping secrets from him, you know this. I still think no one should’ve told me and this party could’ve been a surprise for both of us. Sorry, rambling. I think I managed to find everything on the list. They only had two packs of purple balloons left, so hopefully 50 is enough. Oh! The cake looks awesome, too. Felice did a great job. He’s going to love it. Okay, I gotta go, he’s coming. See you— Hi Simon! … No, just a scam call. How—”
Kristina’s phone. September 5th, 2032, 6:11pm.
“Hi Mamma. I’m sorry I missed your call earlier. Things have been really busy over here. The movers showed up on time, thankfully, and everything went smoothly. We managed to get a lot unpacked already. Simon and I just had our first official dinner at our new kitchen table! Let me know when you and Pappa want to come visit. I’d say give us a few weeks to at least get the majority of the boxes cleared out. You’re going to love the view of the lake. It’s so beautiful, Mamma… I’m really happy here. Okay. Call me when you can… I love you. Say hi to Pappa.”
Erik’s phone. June 1st, 2026, 1:52am.
“Hi Erik. It’s your brother. Wille. Um… I graduated today. I didn’t end up finishing at Hillerska. It got shut down. You may actually know a little bit about why. I don’t want to talk about that… The past few years have been really tough, Erik. There are a lot more good days than bad ones now, but it still hurts every day. I miss you a lot. I hope you’ve forgiven me for stepping down from the throne. I think you have. You knew I never wanted it. I’m starting at uni in the fall, and Simon and I are going to live together. I’m really excited, actually. Normal life, and all that. Maybe I’ll even get a job. Imagine that. Former Crown-Prince working as a barista. Um, okay. I should probably get back to sleep. I’ll call again soon. I love you, big brother… Bye.”

To me personally, Sara from Young Royals is the best autistic representation I have seen. Because is doesn't feel like she was made to be representation.
Young Royals, especially the first season, felt like a chain reaction going off, like every event impacted and caused the next. I remember watching it the first time confused about why they didn't give different subplots to the other characters, and instead kept using the same 3/4, but by the end you realise it's because the chaices and actions made by the same 3/4 impacted everything else, and that is any one thing didn't happen, everything would have been OK.
Sara's autism and ADHD are a direct part of this chain reaction over and over again.
It's her autism that allows her and Simon to go to the school (not looking up how to spell it again, you know the name) in the first place. Simon agrees to get August drink for the party because he wants Sara ti make friends, which she struggles woth because of her autism. August goes to Sara first about buying the ADHD meds because SHE HAS ADHD! And when she gets confused why, because she doesn't understand why he would do something illegal (simplified a bit there), that is when Simon steps in.
There are definite more examples that I can't remember right now (probably/especially fro. Season 2) but Sara's autism/ADHD are so interconnected with the plot it doesn't feel like representation, it feels authentic.
And then there's the fact that she isn't necessarily a good person, which I could make a whole other point on about infantalisation, and that really, in canon, she doesn't do anything worse than any other character (bar Felice (she has done nothing wrong ever) and August (who has done nothing right ever)
#ive seen people#notably other autistics#talk about how she wasnt great rep and that they didnt like her as a character etcetc#but she ment and means so much to me#i mean it when i say i will defend her till my dying days#(lets hope seaon 3 doesnt make me regret that)#sara young royals#sara eriksson#young royals#autism#actually autistic#adhd#i hate the term neurodivergent btw so i didnt use it at all in the post

Some moments in season 3 of Young Royals that stand out for me ep.2
Here's link when I share moments from season 1
I have some free time now, and there is ALWAYS a good time for rewatch of Young Royals, so here we go episode 2. I'm sharing outstanding moments from season 3, that made me gasped, yelped or laughed. This show is so dear to me. Hope you'll enjoy :) Have a nice Sunday :3
The beggining!
At first I cringed a little bc I thought Wille's talking to the picture, but then we hear Simon's voice and my heart melted. Also, this whole scene made me balance on the edge of cringe bc I was with my friends while watching, but... well... Wilmon is just too lovely and soft for that, so yeah more melting body and heart from this scene.
2. I will repeat - The Music
Always the music <3 It just flushes into my soul and meander there with whole show emotion package. Ugh! I love it.
3. The casual pretty packed racism Felice is facing from the headmistress of the school...
It was the same kind of discrimination words as Kristina said to Wille in season 2 about him being the first one who decided to start unconventional relationship. It is said smooth and soft and It's even more disguising bc of that.
So I just screamed when I saw Felice's reaction. Go girl! They won't fvck with you! It was also very thoughful way of relieving the emotions by creators. I like that.
4. Them
So soft and casual <3
5. New choir member
I'm still kicking my feet while watching this.
And then...
Wille is so gone for Simon. My teeth are gonna decay because of the amount of the sugar this season. And it hits even more bc of how much they suffered in previous seasons.
6. The moment I realised
that when August and Nils were 1rst years in Hillerska, Erik was a third year student. I gasped.
7. The fight
Up until this moment the series is just walking around talking about how jokes are used as excuses of violence, yet here we go again. I burst out laughting.
And then the knowing Erik thing.
It's just so satisfying how August repeats the sentence without any shame. It felt good. In time, extremely quick answer. Ohh, I LOVE THIS SERIES.
8. Simon being done with looking after Sara
and being honest about it with his mom. I think this season Linda hears lots of uncomfortable words from Simon, but he needs to let it out and she need to hear it so it felt good also how is he saying that. We can hear how tired and pissed he is. I'm proud.
9. More speaking up about what we could witness in previous seasons
I just screamed "THANK YOU!"
10. Small moment for nonbinary people.
I felt seen. <3
I know that the show is not about that, but just this small moment of acknowledgement for us - pure bliss <3
11. Feliece the biggest support for the gays
Idk I was just happy with this, probably bc of all the stories in fanfiction hahaha. My favourite combination :3
12. And the Rosh and Ayub!
Like - them all in one place finally! My heart, the joy, I can't, I loved it.
13. And the Roshella - Noone expeted it, yet everyone needed. My computer can't handle it so no screeshot from this scene. But I love the way the showed it, the close ups, and the Fredrikas face. Chefs kiss :D
And then I was getting more and more angry. So, I'm ending this post here.
Haha, also I need to go to work, so that's it.
Take care!

In your opinion, what is the best and the worst decision the five main have made the whole show? Some bad decisions are pretty easy but I’m curious what you’d think their best decisions are👀
excellent question!! there's a hundred percent chance i'm forgetting stuff so these might not be THE best and worst but i'll try 💜
Wille
best: giving up the crown prince role (easy)
worst: i was about to say denying his involvement in the leaked video but you know what? no. it was almost sleeping with felice
Simon
best: going in for that second kiss at horror movie night (only because i don't want to admit it was definitively distancing himself from the royal family and breaking up with wille that last time)
worst: taking up august's offer to double the money he owed him if simon got him drugs. boyyyyyy
Felice
best: putting her foot down about not wanting to wear her mother's lucia dress (which snowballed into a beautiful avalanche of self-love and respect that collaterally took a 120yo exclusive private school down. absolute queen behavior.)
worst: kissing wille back none, she's perfect.
Sara
best: oooh this is hard. i think there is one big all-encompassing decision that sara made that led to all the good she gained and regained in her life, which was to really stand by all the lessons her mistakes taught her.
worst: listen, i'll admit i don't know what falling in love feels like, so i may be talking out of my ass here, but it didn't look to me like she fell for august hard and fast. it seems to me that august made her feel wanted for the fist time in her life, and maybe in a misguided way she projected onto him the chance to "redeem" herself for all the bad she saw in herself, by helping him redeem himself. and for these reasons i think she decided to see where it all led her, which was ultimately to fall in love with him. but i could never buy the "blinded by love" explanation for all that happened. she knew what she was doing was wrong (she said so), so i think there must have been a moment when she realized she had started developing feelings for august, the person who leaked revenge porn of her own brother, and she decided to not rein them in before they got too deep.
August
best: my petty ass really wants to say all the ass-kissing that led him to the crown prince role. hope he's happy with it <3
worst: either recording or leaking literal child pornography, can't decide.

Hi! 3 and 7 for the ask game?
Hello! Thank you so much for the numbers!
3. Favorite platonic friendship
I hope you don't mind me giving several answers here!
My number one is Sara and Felice. It's not only an amazingly written, genuinely character-driven friendship that evolves through the seasons and fuels both of their own story arcs and individual growth...but also something kind of subversive to see in a story about teenage girls. In so many stories, the popular girl would have also been a mean girl, and Sara would have got the blame for August kissing her in S1, but instead, they made Felice a sweetheart and the girls stick together. In so many stories, their falling out would have been treated as lesser than a romantic breakup, but instead, it was explicitly confirmed as equal or even more substantial in S3. There's just something really beautiful, relatable, and validating about how Sara and Felice's friendship is written throughout the show.
My runner-up is Simon and Ayub, who as you said are just so soft and funny together. Love to see such a sweet, non-toxic, emotionally intimate portrayal of friendship between teenage guys!
And I can't resist adding that I'm partial to the dynamic between Henry and Simon, which started out as starkly antagonistic in S1 (controversial opinion maybe, but Simon did attack Henry's family first) and softened from S2 on. As a politically active leftist who has seen the divisions deepen in real life, I'm nostalgic for a world where those on the opposite ends of the political spectrum could still come together as people. I get that it wasn't necessarily the message the show wanted to leave us with, but even in S3, I did read Henry as having accepted Simon as "their very own soap-box socialist." He seemed sincere asking how the labour movement celebrated on 1 May, and he included Simon in "we're brothers" when interrupting Wilmon in the library. I love that Simon had won him over.
To some extent, Henry seemed to have grown on Simon as well. I would've liked to see an explicit reconciliation between them (and I also wrote one in my post-S1 fic), but Simon didn't seem to need it. I do think there were too many differences for him to see Henry even as a casual friend, but their interactions were amiable towards the end. Hell, he was nowhere near as snarky as he could have been about Henry offering money for the half-eaten lollipop!
So yeah, I think their dynamic is intriguing and something that can definitely be explored further in fic.
7. Character you didn’t initially like/love but have now warmed up to
Stella! I strongly disliked her mean girl ways in S1 - her dig about welfare scammers with a totally unprovoked glare at Simon and Sara, and the meaningful look between her and Fredrika when Sara said she might have to leave Hillerska. In S2, I found myself just waiting for her to turn against Sara, which she very quickly did at the end. Despite putting on a thin veil of female solidarity earlier in the season, she was immediately ready to cast Sara out for (she assumed) getting with Felice's ex, and she even said that thing about secrets when Sara had kept hers. In S3, I liked her little flirtation with Rosh, but then she went and acted like a total asshole at the neon party so...yeah, I did not come out of the final season liking her.
But then. Then there was some discussion on here about the disproportionate amount of hate that Stedrika and Felicia got after S2, which I always found disgraceful even though I didn't much care for Stella or Stedrika. After answering a couple of anons about it and defending the point of having them in the show and even shipping them, I had a sort of epiphany. I realised my own past experiences with mean girls were seriously clouding my view and making me withhold the same grace from her that I readily gave to the male characters. At the end of the day, I still think she is objectively meaner than Henry, but she is a compelling character all the same. I'm even writing her into a fic now!
(Also, it definitely helped that someone on here managed to catch a blink-and-you'll-miss-it shot of her and Fredrika kissing at the party before Rosh even gets there. That doesn't excuse her behaviour but does explain it.)
Wow this really turned into a ramble...! Thank you again for enabling it haha.
I'm still open to more asks if anyone wants to send them! (Already answered: 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 15, 16, 20, 21)

Discovering Young Royals
So now that I've lurked a bit around the Young Royals fandom I wanna try and be a bit more active ^^ It feels a bit weird to arrive so late because it seems like everything has probably already been said >< So I hope my little thoughts here and there won't just be redundant for fandom people! I've been thinking about it and I think I wanna write my thoughts, and questions and various comments about the show, probably going episode by episode! And I'll add some pretty pictures (I should learn how to make gifs :o)
For tonight though I'll just write up kind of my first thoughts and reactions while watching the show for the first time ^^
ᴥ I'm not proud of admitting it but I started watching the show because I was a bit bored, a bit sick and wanted to kind of "hate-watch" something >< I thought it would be a very elitist kind of show with insufferable royal people! Boy was I wrong...
ᴥ Wilhelm is a cutie pie and made me love the show so much, almost right from the start. His image of angry teenage prince got replaced so fast by just the reality of an anxious (soft) boy, in the span of an episode! His interaction with Simon at the end of episode 1 sealed the deal for me...
ᴥ The show is so so so well made!! It's beautiful and the music is absolutely phenomenal!! All the young actors are incredibly talented (and gosh is Edvin so very good ><) and it's just such a pleasure to watch :o
ᴥ I love love love how "real" it feels!! The actors look the good age for their characters, they look so fucking real, like I 100% believe that these characters are teenagers! I love the choice of not putting lots of make up on them and letting them keep their "real" skin. It's so freaking refreshing!! I don't really know of other shows who do that!! (Also I come from the Glee fandom so: the actors playing teenagers were definitely not looking like teenagers, they all had flawless skins and were ""perfect"" (aka in the beauty standards) looking so having skinny boys and girls with different and real-looking bodies feel so good! Maybe the difference also comes from the fact that Glee was a US show and YR is a Swedish one?)
ᴥ I feel very lucky that I was able to watch season 1 and season 2 back to back! It must have been so hard for you guys to wait for season 2 >< And I'm lucky again that season 3 will probably be there in not too long!
ᴥ August is such a well written character!! A truly interesting "villain" who makes me feel almost some sympathy at times o_o
ᴥ I have very mixed feelings and complicated thoughts about Sara...
ᴥ The chemistry between Edvin and Omar is insane.
ᴥ Yuk Marcus!
ᴥ But all the love for Felice <3
ᴥ And Omar is the prettiest human being ever. I am now officially a fan. (He gives me SO.MUCH gender envy...........)
These were all kind of scattered thoughts going through my head while I binge-watched the show the first time!
(Also it made me want to learn Swedish so I've started doing that on Duolingo and I'm now obsessed with this language xD (But gosh, pronunciation is a nightmare...) So if any Swedish people wanna chat, I need training :p)
Gonna stop there for this freaking long-ass post and keep my rantings and chattiness for another post :D
#young royals#prince wilhelm#simon eriksson#omar rudberg#edvin ryding#omar and edvin#personal#just so you guys know#I also love Darren Criss a whole fucking lot#so there will be stuff about him from time to time#apparently I have lots of love for small dark curly haired boys ^^"#my analysis#(mostly my first thoughts#not much analysis happening there :p)

okay some of my thoughts on the last episode right after finishing it
‼️ spoilers for the last episode ‼️
i'm happy wilmon got a happy ending
i would however like to see them actually working on everything that was an issue in their relationship and actually talking with each other
wille's abdication was something we all have seen coming and i'm happy it happened because he really wasn't happy about being the crown prince and the king
the redemption with wilhelm's parents was bit underwhelming but i'm still happy it happened
i'm still not sure about august but i do think he actually is sorry in some capacity
i liked the talk he had with wilhelm about eric, because we will never know what he would say about wilmon but i think this was the best way for wille to get some sort of closure
also i think he's right, we know eric loved him and i think simon was right about what he said when he found out about the initiations (it being peer pressure and such)
sara and august not being together is good because sara was right - august has issues and just because sara was the first one to see him doesn't mean he can just be forgiven for everything
also liked the talk about how now that he got to be in the line for the throne his life is going to be harder and how his position before was much easier
in a sense it could be seen as a punishment for him as well, he got what he wanted in the beginning but it will cost him a lot
i liked that sara decided to put simon and felice over august
sara and felice fixing up their relationship is nice as well, but again i would like to see them talk about it bit more
i'm also happy felice said the truth about the school and how sara supported her
i was really excited for stella and fredrika this season but i was really disappointed with them
i'm happy they got together, but the way they treated felice was just so off-putting
(also stella lashing out on rosh at the party was a reminder that they still have a superiority complex)
madison is still an icon though, no notes
i still don't know how i feel about vincent, like sometimes he's really funny but then he says something completely insane and i want to tape his mouth shut
i did really like the coming out scene with nils august and vincent, it was really nice moment
there was not enough of henry and walter in the last season, truly sad
i'm actually not that mad that hillerska's closing honestly, i think it makes sense with the show ending
(also completely honest, they are all rich spoiled brats with a superiority complex that thought that just because they are rich the rules wouldn't apply to them so i'm not going to be sad for them that much) (still love wille and felice)
overall i have mixed feelings about the whole season 3 but the finale was nice ending for the show
and getting a happy ending really seemed impossible so i'm glad it happened (god knows we all deserve it)
omar and edvin really portrayed the characters so well, their acting was phenomenal and they made this show into what it is
also shout out to all the other actors, they truly were all amazing
and lastly, i'm gonna really miss this show

The "Real" Message of The Show
No matter what, people will be determined to classify someone as "bad" when a new series drops. like people can't be viewed through the lens of being "neutral" or "good people who make bad decisions"...despite that typically being how people are???
When I watched season one, I only really paid attention to Wille and Simon, but when I did a rewatch, I really saw all the moving parts and how much YR was a super cohesive story with intertwining of all of the character's experiences. At the center this show deals with different societal classes, upbringings, etc and we do actually see how that affects who these people are and what they do as the show goes on, and it's not meaningless/out of the blue.
Because no matter how much people want to act like it's not as impacting as it is: People are a product of their experiences.
Wille- If we're being real we saw him for a very small portion at the beginning of the show before everything blew up-him being super adorable, sweet, and awkward. Since being under his strict lifestyle and pressure, he's been going on this downward spiral-he has literally been becoming more and more in the image of his royal family since season 1 (and season 2 he was a lot of the same as 3, it just gets glossed over by his thoughtful decision at the end).
Since I first watched the show, it was clear to me how all of the backstory with August's character was not throwaway information. Tbh, what we know of him in season 1 was never enough to make sense of where his bad decision came from (I guess his insecurity..). But this season, they just gave so much more. And it's strange to me how strongly people react for either argument- of August being actually evil, or having to identify him as a good person [tbf I never thought he was a "bad" person per say, which is my whole point of writing this because for every character of a series (look at the reaction to Wilhelm this szn) people immediately have to sort them into good and bad columns on the judgement of morality and not just take story for what it is: story]. Again, with August his backstory has always added reason to why he is the way he is, but now knowing what we know with Erik, and being 1? 2? years older than Wille, his experience does make sense of what he did (when it's almost exactly the same thing with Wilmon). Because hurt people hurt people.
And with Sara, it's never been warranted the amount of hate she gets that insinuate she is evil. The show tells you very early on what her arc is gonna be: she places value on external things-she wants expensive clothes and to live in the fancy school and will try to impress to fit in with her new group of girl friends. And the irony is she lost it all after everything came out at the shooting range. She wanted what she never had and made decisions, because she thought that was what was important. She's a product of her experiences and it's also her experience-because she was bullied-that August's letter means even more to her and results in her kissing him.
Simon- has literally done nothing wrong (we're not talking about his decision to sell, because that's not really a choice that badly affects ppl other than mostly only himself).
Felice- has literally done nothing wrong; had the biggest positive transformation between seasons 1 and 2, because she stopped caring about external accolades (and that is also a representation of her being a product of her environment because of her mother).
And, to be clear I'm not saying people can't change how they are. Because, yeah Felice is a good example. August has surprised many people this season. Maybe August continues to change; maybe he doesn't. Wille has surprised people in his own way. Maybe we'll get more shocks in the final act. This show has always dealt with the subtext of personal experiences that lead to how people react.

Young Royals, Season 3, Give me what I want!
Hopefully wWe're gonna get a third season FUCK YEAH GUYS WOOHOO, and since my predictions for last season were so awesome, here's my predictions for the next one, combined with my personal wishlist:
First up, what I don't want is Wilhelm and Simon having relationship issues. We're done with that, thank you very much. Let them be together the entire season, no reason to force them apart again. Will they/won't they? They will. Move on.
Time-wise, it makes perfect sense for the season to span the rest of the spring semester, culminating in graduation for the third-year students. Or, it could continue into the summer break, although that would remove us from the school setting. Maybe for something epilogue-ish?
Obviously, the show has to deal with the two main drama points that were setup; The fallout from Wilhelm coming out publicly, and the fallout from Sara reporting August to the police.
Wilhelm coming out is fodder for lots of drama, how will the Queen and the court react, how will the press react, how will the people react? I expect paparazzi, newspaper headlines, and more shouting matches over the phone.
If it becomes public knowledge that August leaked the sex tape, that's gonna have repercussions for him at school, and it throws a wrench in the court's plan to make him Wilhelm's backup. Aside from the possible criminal investigation and possible trial, of course. Maybe there's some redemption possible for him here? I wouldn't mind.
Simon is now going to start feeling the weight of royal duty and being in the public eye. Maybe he'll need to move to Hillerska for his own protection and become a boarder. Is he joining Forest Ridge? Can he maybe join a rival house like Sprucewood? That could be some fun drama. But the royal court is also going to want to plan his future, just like Wilhelm's is already planned, I want to see him deal with all those expectations. He might also find out that having a relationship in secret was the easier option.
And what about Rosh and Ayub? There's an excellent opportunity for some class journey drama here, is Simon going to leave them behind? Is he going to be forced to leave them behind? If he's still living at home, is he going to need a bodyguard when riding the bus from school with his friends? Who would win in a fight, Malin or Rosh?
I missed Linda and Micke in season 2. I know there's good reasons for it, but I want more of them in season 3. Both of them are going to be thrust into the public eye having to deal with that, and Micke isn't exactly clean-cut and representative. He might also be dragged into the drug circus because of August, so that's some excellent drama fuel right there.
I don't know what I wish for Sara. Can the show give her a little break perhaps, and not let her be that trigger for lots of drama, please? She deserves some peace and quiet. It would also be kinda funny if she and Simon trade places so that she'll move back home again, while Simon moves to Hillerska. Maybe have her realize how misguided her class aspirations have been?
I want Felice to have more of a plot of her own. She's only been on support duty in season 2, I want her plot from season 1 to come back, let's do something with her parents, her mom is wonderfully terrible!
Simon and Wilhelm have never really been publicly a couple at Hillerska. Everyone knows, sure, but it's always been gossipy and talked about behind their backs. How will everyone deal with it being out in the open? How will this clash with various shitty traditions at Forest Ridge like the on-the-table crap? Are they gonna make both boys get up and confess? That could actually be done in a good, affirming way. I would also love for the school to close ranks and protect the boys from outside prying eyes like paparazzi and shit. That could be an opportunity for the minor characters to shine. And what about the Society? Wilhelm is technically breaking the oath he made when he joined. Will they break or bend?
Alexander needs justice, just get out from under August's thumb, please! Henry can stick to comic relief, he's great at it. Have him interrupt the boys getting busy for once! Stedrika becoming an official item? Not sure if I want it, but maybe? Walter? Madison? Nils?Just keep carrying on, they're great as they are.
But the thing I want most is more Vincent. He is the worst, and I love every second of it. More. Give me more! Be terrible and hilarious all at once!
Finally, can we get some more cute shit with our main couple? I want Simon to sleep over at the castle. Can they wake up together in that big bed of Wilhelm's, please? And let's do a "meet the parents" while we're there. Have Simon join a private family dinner with the royals!
Now give me what I want! 🥰

So I always tell people that a lot of season 2 of Young Royals didn’t surprise me at all, because @bluedalahorse predicted so much of it before it happened (especially the August and Sara stuff) but tonight I was organizing our shared Google drive and I found proof of her psychic abilities. She made a detailed prediction spreadsheet in DECEMBER 2021 organized by likeliness and I would like to share some of her greatest hits with you now. (Also her ranking of likeliness and how much she would enjoy each prediction coming true is very funny).
We did indeed start at the palace! And although Kristina only tries to pull him after he returns to Hillerska and spends a little time there, the spirit of this is Very Correct
And Wilhelm did indeed sweat it out!
Ok so the reason Sara and Simon are fighting is wrong but the theme is correct, and also not the Felice/Wilhelm fake dating!!! I remember thinking that this was so far fetched but it was in fact! Not!
God fucking dammit August! 😂😂😂
Here she is nailing the entire Sara/August arc
More Sara and August accuracy sandwiching something we didn’t get but I still kind of hope that we do. (She didn’t get that August was going to be bumped up so specifically in the line of succession but this feels pretty close)
And this one made me scream!!!
Ok, that’s all. Blue thinks her predictive ability for season 3 is going to be less accurate than for season 2 but I still have faith.
#young royals#bluedalahorse being smart as usual#she makes me laugh so much#this is a shitpost#but if you predicted anything correctly you should tell me in comments#Im interested to know!
