“How’d it go? Oh I ordered you a coffee figured you’d want it…you know with your sick addiction to caffeine and all.” “Says the man with a literal nicotine addiction….but it went…well…he cried.” “He cried? Jesus the kid is always crying when he’s around you…is that Eddie in the parking lot?” “He cried when I told him I just want the house and the things in it…I guess he thought I was going to want more or like put up a fight or something…oh yeah he met me at the Lawyer’s office.” “Why would you put up a fight? You want a divorce because he’s a disgusting cheating pig…what else besides the house would you want?…is Eddie going to join us or just be a creep in the parking lot?” “Eddie’s fine he’s on the phone with his Realtor but really… I don’t know what he thought I’d want besides the house? I uhm…I gave him my wedding ring..figured I didn’t need it anymore and looking at it makes me feel…sad.” “I wish you’d let me kick his ass or at least arrest him.” “Eddie already handled part of that for you…” “what? That little shit got the first hit? You said we couldn’t touch him?” “I wasn’t there and apparently Steve said something not nice and that’s why Eddie hit him….just once though.” “He said something not nice about you? Oh yeah I’m arresting him fuck what Wayne says he is a disturbance to the whole town’s peace…what’s wrong?…come here kiddo….it’s gonna be okay.” “I feel like I’m such an idiot like…he was cheating on me and I didn’t see it? How did I not see it?” “Shhh shhh it’s okay…you’re not an idiot he’s the fucking idiot he managed to mess up the one good thing going for him…you didn’t see it because you loved him and we tend to ignore the red flags when it comes to the ones we love.” “I don’t know what I’m going to do.” “For starters you’re going to eat some lunch with me…but after that you just take it day by day…you’ll find happiness again and Steve will die miserable and alone.” “I just want someone to love me and not just part of me but love the whole me and…I thought I had that with Steve…” “I’m sure you’ll find someone that loves you…the whole you and not just the fun parts.” “Really?” “Yeah…oh look who decided to stop being weird in the parking lot and join us for lunch.” “Jesus Jim you’re with her not even five minutes and you’ve already got her crying?” “How was it hitting Harrington? Did you break his nose?” “No…I was close though but it felt-” “can we not talk about the feeling of hitting my soon to be ex husband right now?…I haven’t even had my coffee yet.” “Oh yeah…sorry honey…sit down and drink your coffee while Eddie and I…go have a smoke and discuss some things.” “Be nice…both of you.” “Always.”

A New York federal judge denied bail to Sean “Diddy” Combs at an arraignment hearing on Tuesday (Sept. 17), leaving the once-powerful rapper and music executive behind bars as he awaits trial on sweeping allegations of sexual abuse.
The charges, unsealed earlier on Tuesday, accuse Combs of running a decades-long racketeering conspiracy that included sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson and bribery. If convicted on all the charges, he potentially faces a sentence of life in prison.
At an initial hearing Tuesday in front of a packed Manhattan courtroom, Combs formally pleaded not guilty to each of the three charges he’s facing. His attorneys also requested that he be released on a $50 million bond, saying he’d surrender his passport and submit to constant monitoring.
But according to the Associated Press, Magistrate Judge Robyn F. Tarnofsky ultimately sided with prosecutors, who had warned that the billionaire executive still posed a flight risk and might intimidate witnesses if released. She ruled that Combs attorneys had not overcome the “presumption” that defendants in such serious cases should remain behind bars.
Combs, also known as Puff Daddy and P. Diddy, was once one of the most powerful men in the music industry. But he’s faced a flood of civil lawsuits in recent months over allegations of sexual abuse, starting with a high-profile case last year from his former longtime girlfriend Cassie Ventura. That lawsuit quickly settled, but it was later corroborated by a widely shared video of Combs assaulting Ventura at a hotel.
In Tuesday’s indictment, prosecutors accused Combs of running a sprawling criminal operation aimed at satisfying his need for “sexual gratification.” The charges detailed “freak offs” in which Combs and others would allegedly ply victims with drugs and then coerce them into having sex with male sex workers, as well as alleged acts of violence and intimidation to keep victims silent.
“For decades, Sean Combs … abused, threatened and coerced women and others around him to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation and conceal his conduct,” prosecutors wrote in the indictment. “To do so, Combs relied on the employees, resources and the influence of his multi-faceted business empire that he led and controlled.”
Ahead of Tuesday’s hearing, both sides submitted detailed arguments to the judge on whether Combs should be detained until his jury trial, which could still be months away.
Combs’ defense lawyers said he was “eminently trustworthy” and had demonstrated “extraordinary” cooperation by flying to New York to allow himself to be arrested on Monday. They offered to post a $50 million bond, submit to house arrest with GPS monitoring, and even to sell his private jet.
“Sean Combs has never evaded, avoided, eluded or run from a challenge in his life,” his lawyers wrote. “He will not start now. As he has handled every hardship, he will meet this case head-on, he will work hard to defend himself, and he will prevail.”
But prosecutors argued back that Combs was a “serial abuser” who had a history of both violence and witness intimidation, raising the prospect that he might attempt to obstruct the case against him. They also said that he still posed a flight risk even under his proposed conditions, citing his “seemingly limitless resources” and the looming threat of a lifetime prison sentence.
“In short, if the defendant wanted to flee, he has the money, manpower, and tools to do so quickly and without detection,” prosecutors wrote. “The defendant’s lack of access to his passport or private jet would not negate the fact that the defendant could easily buy his way out of facing justice.”
Following Tuesday’s hearing before a magistrate judge, Combs is set for an initial pretrial conference next week before Judge Andrew L. Carter, Jr., the federal district judge who will oversee the trial.

Honestly, maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but I don't think the principal was totally unreasonable in her decision making. Fights are serious, and should be handled seriously. From her perspective, Robyn is unharmed while Leroi is. However, I think the principal should realize that these students...aren't adults yet. She's approaching this situation more from a judge/lawyer perspective.
Either way, I love how you do your stories! They are so well-written and in-depth, I can't wait to see where Robyn's story will go from here.
Principal Hand (she/they) is meant as a morally gray character - not entirely right but willing to learn and accept they were wrong. You really are one of the few people to not hate or say you wanna fight her 😅
As for the rest of your message, tysm! I try <3
And a message to all: if you have theories regarding where Robyn's story will go, or anything else, please do share them! Reading what you guys think could happen is always such a joy and one of my favorite parts of telling this story!

Let’s talk about my little fic I’m writin for Stand by Me/The Goonies.
This is such a fun AU that I love fuckin around with but I haven’t really been writing that much for it which is sad but what can you do
• so I’ve deCIDED. That Teddy Duchamp is Mouth Devereaux’s uncle. Uncle Teddy.
• this fic would take place during the Goonies movie okay
• I like to think that Richard Chambers, being the stupid fucker that he is, made a big huge ultra mega incredibly dumb mistake and got some girlfriend of his pregnant and was like “well shit. Can’t do the responsible thing and better myself for this kid. Not as long as my name is EYEBALL CHAMBERS. No no no honey I’m gonna drop this thing off with my brother and his twink roommate”
• so that’s what he does. Leaves a kid in front of the door to Chris and Gordie’s apartment in NY with a note that says nothing but “don’t want it. Yours now. - Eyeball” and Chris is like “what in the everloving fuck”
• but Gordie is ecstatic???
• bro’s like “A BABY? FOR FREE??? WE ARE KEEPING HER CHRISTOPHER”
• the birth of Robyn(Bobby because Chris js despises “Robby” for some reason idk he’s a diva w names) Denise Chambers
• get it. Get it. Denise like Dennis Because Denny because Gordie’s dead brother
• anyways.
• IN A WORLD. WHERE DOROTHY LACHANCE DIVORCES HER FUCK KNUCKLE OF A HUSBAND IN THE YEAR 1985
• guess where she moves. Guess.
• like right outside the Goon Docks. Where it ain’t considered part of the town so her house don’t get torn down by what’s-his-fuck
• aNYWAYS. Bobby and her parents are helpin Grandma Lachance move and then she’s like “hey. I got a friend/extended family member that lives like five minutes from here” and tells her parents that she gon go find Mouth and they’re like “okay you do that”
• so begins the whole plot of Goonies but Bobby just does not wanna be there whatsoever
• she’s just like “holy fuck guys I just wanna leave what the hell” the ENTIRE TIME
• pulls the “my dad’s a lawyer” card when the Fratelli family literally be threatening their lives
• they’re like “you aren’t gonna make it out of here alive” or “we’re gonna kill you when we get to you” and Bobby just fuckin scoffs and is like “my dad is one of the best lawyers in New York. He’ll DESTROY your ass”
• city girl is NOT afraid to talk back to these ruthless criminals istg it’s a fatal personality trait
• best thing tho. The whole time, nobody else involved in this whole thing knows how Mouth and Bobby know each other. Like at all
• they just be talkin about ‘that one time five years ago’ and everyone’s like “if y’all ain’t related then what the fuck” because they’ve literally never met Bobby and Mouth’s lived in Astoria his literal entire life
• at the end of the movie when the kids are being reunited with their parents and family and all that, Bobby goes to her parents and our boy Michael Walsh flips his absolute shit because one of his all time favorite authors is this random chick’s father
• Mouth starts talking to Chris and Gordie and they’re all just catching up and Mikey’s hyperventilating because now one of his best friends somehow knows Gordon Lachance???? They’re just acting like old friends that haven’t seen each other in a couple months????
That’s. All I have really. At least right now. But I love this AU and wanna write it but honestly with what fucking motivation because I haven’t seen it anywhere
#stand by me#chris chambers#gordie lachance#teddy duchamp#lachambers#vern tessio#the goonies#i’m starting a bobby chambers tag because i WILL be writing for her more so#bobby chambers#i love her she’s such a shit

Now that RT has been shut down, and the crew aren't bound by their contractual obligations anymore, I sincerely hope that they lawyer up and sue the pants off of RWDE and r/RWBYcritics for harassment and defamation. Barb and Arryn have been called "sluts", Arryn has been accused of lying about what her relationship with Bob was like, Eddy has been called a "b***er", and Miles has been asked to die so that he could be replaced. I believe that they're long overdue for restitution after that. The VAs should lawyer up, too. Christina Vee was called a "waste of oxygen" for voicing Robyn, for instance.
Okay, I think that might be going too far.
First off, how would you even sue for this? We don't even know their real names. Getting them to go to court would need you to reveal their real life info and that's crossing a line I don't think should be crossed.
Second, people shit fling on the internet all the time. You shouldn't be doing this to people you've never met or really at all but it happens. Having legal consequences could be disastrous and ruin everyone's lives. Including yours and mine.
Third, this court precedent could easily be used to silence any and all critics. I mean, how many times have writers and actors called all their critics 'racist' and 'sexist' because of some stupid logic train? Imagine this exact same court case against 'name a bad movie here' except with the weight of something like Warner Bros. behind them.
And fourth, and this is probably the saddest part...all of this is nothing new for critics. Remember Gene Siskel, widely regarded as one of the two greatest critics of all time? Remember Friday the 13th, a key part of the slasher-horror genre? Siskel fucking HATED that movie. So much so that he called the director, Sean Cunnigham, "one of the most despicable creatures ever to infest the movie business" and uh...posted the address of the actress for Pamela Vorhees both in his review for the first movie back in 1980. He kind of DOXXED an actress for acting in a movie he didn't like. One that has become a part of movie history.
I am no fan of RWDE of RWBYcritics. I have made mistakes in my stupid crusade against them (block evading, possibly running someone off the internet, directly refusing to just call a trans person the right gender alongside less bad stuff) and even with that I still don't think what they've done is okay in the slightest. But fuck me, I don't think legal action is the way to go.
Kind of like how you look down on adultry: it shouldn't be illegal but it should be shamed.

Eminem will have to sit for a deposition after the United States Patent and Trademark Office Board denied his motion for a protective order in his ongoing case against Robyn Dixon and Gizelle Bryant over their ‘Reasonably Shady’ podcast:“An assertion of Mr. Mathers being too busy will not be enough to avoid having to sit for a deposition,” Robyn and Gizelle’s lawyer wrote in court documents, according to Radar Online. “As [Robyn and Gizelle], both celebrities in their own right, have provided the courtesy of sitting for deposition for [Eminem], it is not overly burdensome for [Eminem] to extend the same courtesy for his obligation.”

Roundtable: Eli Stone
How does the series use dual-focus narrative as a strategic storytelling tool beyond heteronormative romantic pairings?
The series uses dual focus narrative through the perspective on Eli's brain aneurysm. Eli's brother, wife, boss, and assistant are all close to him and care about him. So, Eli is important to them in all different ways and he has different relationship with all of them. Therefore, when they receive the news, their responses are all different. The intrusion of the aneurysm forces different stories to be told about Eli's many relationships, outside of the obvious relationship with his fiancé. Eli's brother still keeps the relationship light hearted and toys to help him as he is a doctor. While Eli's assistant, Patti, sees the horrible news as a breakage of trust in their relationship because of their long term partnership in business. Also, the aneurysm puts Eli's relationship with his fiancé in jeopardy.
youtube
What are the “inevitable” couplings within the series and how are they accentuated through “cinematic” similarities and contrasts?
The inevitable couplings are shown through the similarities and contrasts between certain characters and those relationships. For example, Eli Stone being a hard working very successful lawyer is automatically coupled with a very beautiful fiancé. In terms of similarities, while at work, Eli is surrounded by lawyers that are just like him: masculine, leader-like men who boss each other around. Conversely: Eli's assistant is a black woman and one of the only prominent black characters. Additionally, Eli's Asian friend, Dr. Chen, is consistently bestowing wisdom upon him. Both these character parings say something about the narratives regarding marginalized stereotypes of working or wisdom.
youtube
How does the series use musical numbers within and beyond the narrative world to replicate fairy tale, backstage, or folk musicals?
The musical numbers are written into the narrative of Eli's delusion with his aneurysm. As Robyn Stilwell addresses, television musicals can be difficult because of the narrative structure. However, in this show with the jukebox component, Eli has delusional visions of performances of popular music. This works quite well. The first example of this is George Michael's "Faith". This urges, quite literally, for Eli to have faith, even while many strange things are happening to him. This structure of musical numbers doesn't relate to any of the above genres, but it provides an influence on Eli's character development.

then i will follow you into the dark
damian wayne has lost everyone. two of his brothers show up. they both died a long time ago
warnings and tags: mutiverse, fake science, refrenced character death, angst, bittersweet ending
title from i will follow you into the dark by death cab for cutie
part 1
Damian let out a sigh and leaned back in his chair. Closing his eyes, he tried to refocus his mind to the task at hand, though these days, he had a hard time doing that.
A soft knock at his door had him opening his eyes. Robyn, the assistant he’d hired almost ten years prior, stood in the doorway, smiling like always.
“Mr. Wayne. Are you alright?”
He grunted and sat up. “Fine. Is there something you need?”
“Yeah, the board is here. They said they’re calling an emergency meeting. I told them you were busy, but they insisted.” she was frowning now.
“Did they say what it was about?” he started shuffling his papers together into a stack and shoving them into a desk drawer.
“They did not. And when I asked, they said it wasn’t my business.”
Damian frowned and scoffed. “It most certainly is.” he stood slowly, his old age getting to him, body aching. “Well, I suppose we should see what they want.”
Robyn’s smile returned. “I suppose we should.” she offered her arm out which Damian took, grabbing his cane from where it leaned against the wall next to the door.
Slowly, the pair made their way down the hallway to the conference room. Robyn opened the door, guiding Damian in. The board sat in their respective seats, all eyes moving to Damian as he shuffled to his seat at the head of the table.
Sitting down, Damian waved at Robyn, and she stepped next to him. “Sit. I need you to take notes for me, please.”
“Of course, Mr. Wayne.” she grabbed a chair and set it next to him, pulling out a notepad as she sat.
“Alright. What is this about?” Damian addressed the people in front of him. All of them looked uncomfortable.
Tom, the head of W.E.’s legal department, cleared his throat. “Mr. Wayne, the board is concerned about what will happen to this company when you retire. To our knowledge, you haven’t made any decisions and you haven’t made an updated will to account for the changes made over the past decade.”
Damian glared at him. “I will have a will before I die. You don’t need to worry about that.”
“And when you retire?” Tom asked, clearly not happy with the answer he got.
“It will be handled.”
“Mr. Wayne, we all think it would be best if you updated your will sooner rather than later.” Val spoke. Damian couldn’t remember what she did. “If you don’t have an updated will and a retirement plan a month from now, the board will move to have you removed from your position on the grounds that you are no longer competent.”
Damian heard Robyn huff in annoyance as she wrote.
“Fine. Robyn, will you schedule a meeting a month from now with the board?”
“Yes sir.” she said, pulling out her phone.
Turning back to the board, Damian nodded once. “Right. is that all?”
“Yes. but-” Tom started to speak again, but Damian cut him off.
“Good. I’ll see you in a month.”
Standing, Damian walked away, Robyn right behind him.
When they arrived back at his office, Damian sat on the couch he had in his office. When he was younger, when he couldn’t bear to be at the manor, he’d spent far too many nights sleeping on that couch.
“Robyn, come sit.” he waved her over.
She did as he asked. “I scheduled the meeting. Do you want me to call your personal lawyer and make an appointment?”
“Not right now. Just sit a minute.”
Robyn smiled. “Okay.”
“Robyn, come here for a moment, please.” Damian called out, ignoring the scowl his lawyer gave him.
Robyn appeared in the doorway. “Yes, Mr. Wayne?” she asked, smiling as always.
“Come sit. We need to discuss some things.” Damian gestured to the empty chair in front of his desk.
Though she looked confused, Robyn did as asked, sitting in the chair.
“Good. Now, as you know, I’m currently updating my will and retirement plan.” Robyn nodded, so Damian continued. “If you’re willing, I’d like to hand the company over to you.”
“What?”
“You’ve been my assistant for almost a decade. You know how this company runs. You know what I want done and what I don’t. I trust you to make decisions. Now, if you agree to this, you’d have to stay in the position for at least ten years.”
“Sir, I don’t – um, are you sure you want me to run your company?”
“Yes, I’m sure. And over the next few years before I retire, I’d train you. And I won’t be dead, so you can call me.”
Robyn smiled. “Mr. Wayne, that would require you to learn how to use your phone.”
Damian hummed, amused. “We’ll figure it out. Do you want the position?”
For a moment, Robyn said nothing, looking at Damian. Then she nodded, “I'd be honored, sir.”
“Good. We’ll get everything written out. Once it’s finalized, we can start training.”
“That sounds good.”
Damian nodded. “That’s all I needed. You can go back to whatever you were doing. Or take a break, if you need one.”
“Yes sir.”
“Oh, and let’s keep this quiet until it’s announced.”
Robyn stood. “Of course, sir.” she said, smiling.
“Mr. Wayne?” Robyn said softly, and Damian looked up at her. “There’s two men here to see you.”
Damian frowned and looked down at the desk calendar he had, a gift from Robyn. He didn’t have anything scheduled.
“Was it scheduled?” He asked, looking back to Robyn.
“No sir.” Her voice trembled.
“Robyn, what’s wrong?”
She cleared her throat. “They, um, sir, they look like your brothers. Jason and Tim, I believe.”
Damian stared at her.
“I can tell them to leave.”
“No. Bring them up here, please.”
Robyn nodded. “Of course, sir.” She turned and left the office and Damian looked at the picture of his brothers he kept on his desk. All four of them were smiling, the only one they’d managed that day
Sighing, Damian shuffled some of his papers out of the way and into a desk drawer.
“Right in here.” Robyn’s voice wasn’t shaking anymore, thankfully. “Mr. Wayne.”
Damian didn’t look up as he said, “Thank you, Robyn. I’ll let you know if I need anything.”
“Yes sir.” Robyn left the room, closing the door gently behind her. Damian looked up.
Jason and Tim stood there.
“How…?” Words failed Damian as he stared at the two men.
Jason grinned. “Hey.”
“You…I don’t understand. You died.”
Tim frowned. “Who died?”
“Both of you.” That shocked both of them and the grin fell from Jason's face.
“What about Dick?”
Damian shook his head. “He’s gone too. He was the first.”
“First?” Jason questioned, looking a little pale.
“He died first. Then Jay, then Tim.”
“Christ.”
“Okay. Um, what about Bruce and Alfred?” Tim asked.
“They died over 60 years ago. Car accident.”
Jason and Tim stared at him.
“What about Batman?”
Damian frowned. “Batman?”
“Yeah. Who was Batman?”
“We have no Batman. I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Damian said.
Jason groaned and sat in a chair. “Fan-fuckin-tastic. No Batman.”
Tim sat as well. “What about the Justice League?”
Damian shook his head no.
“Well, shit.” Jason groaned again.
“Damian, are there any superheroes at all?”
“Like from comic books?”
“Yeah.”
“No. Why?”
“We’ll, in our world, there are. We’re vigilantes.”
“Vigilantes?” Damian was wondering who these people were and what they had taken.
“Yup. We fight crime. Well, I’m kinda a criminal, but ya know.” Jason said, a familiar grin on his face.
“I don’t, actually.” Damian snapped. He had a tendency to get angry when he had to talk about or look at his brothers too long.
Oddly, Tim rolled his eyes. “So this is what you’re like when you’re an adult.” He said, almost laughing.
“What?”
“You’re 13 in our world, so it’s kinda weird seeing you as an adult.”
“I’m 13?”
“Yeah. You’re a little demon brat.” Jason said, sounding particularly amused.
“Why do you seem so confused?” Tim asked.
Wordlessly, Damian flipped the picture of him and his brothers around. Tim picked it up and stared at it.
“In this world, I’m the oldest. Or I was.”
“Damn.” Jason said, leaning over Tim’s shoulder to see the picture. “So what was the age order?”
“Myself, Tim, Jason, and then Dick was the youngest.”
“So ages are flipped. How old were you when B died?”
“B?”
“Bruce, sorry.”
Damian sighed. “30.”
Jason whistled and Tim set the frame back on the desk, picture facing Damian.
“Okay. Any chance you know anything about interdimensional travel?” Tim asked.
“I did a research paper on it in college.”
“Cool. How do we go home?”
Damian smirked a little. “It was all theoretical. Until now, I suppose.”
“Alright. Everything is set.” Damian said, looking up at the two men he was with. They weren’t his brothers, not really, but they shared their names, faces, personalities.
It was strange to see them after he had buried them all those years ago, and the sharp heartache he’d felt then was back, but it was accompanied by a warmth he’d not felt in a long time.
“Sweet. As cool as this has been, I want to go home.” Jason said, sounding excited. He’d told Damian that he was married, something his Jason had never done, never even had a chance for it, really.
Tim wasn’t married, but Damian was certain that he was seeing someone. His Tim had dated a man, though at this point, Damian couldn’t recall anything else about it.
“Thank you, Damian, for doing this.” Tim said smiling.
Damian smiled back sadly. “Of course. I know all too well what it’s like to lose someone and not get answers.”
Tim nodded. “I suppose you do.”
“Go.” Damian said. “Your Damian misses you, even if he’ll never admit it. You two and Richard are more than likely the most important part of his life.”
Jason grinned. “Kid’s not as good at hiding it as he thinks he is. And thank you.”
Damian nodded.
“Well, off we go.” Tim whispered as he and Jason stepped over to the machine they’d built with Damian. Pressing a button, they grabbed the handles and Jason grabbed the lever.
He gave Damian one last grin before he pulled it, the two of them disappearing with a flash of light.
Damian was alone again.
The weight was different though, lighter, easier to carry. He hadn’t gotten his brothers back, but he’d gotten to see two of them smile again.
“Hey, B, I have a case to solve.”
“We have an open case?”
Tim shook his head. “No. In the other world, Damian is the only one left. Dick was murdered and the case was never solved.”
Bruce gave his third son a smile. “And you want to solve it for him.”
“Well, he doesn't have Batman or any superheroes for that matter. He deserves closure.”
“We can try.”
Robyn stepped into Damian- no it was her office now. She sighed. Damian had passed two months ago and she still thought of it as his office.
Sitting down at the desk chair, she looked down to find a file folder with a sticky note on it.
We wanted to give this to Damian, but we were too late. You seemed close so we thought you might want to read it.
Underneath it, was a second note in a different handwriting.
Don’t let anyone see this. No good way to explain it.
Opening the folder, she found the case files for the murder of Richard Grayson and Haley’s Circus. Flipping through it, she realized that it had been solved.
The decades old cold case that gave Damian nightmares had been solved.
Continuing to read it, tears ran down her face. Damian should have gotten to see this. It wasn’t fair that he hadn’t, but she was glad that it was solved. And even if nothing came of it, because she would never turn this in, maybe Damian and his brothers could rest easier.
Robyn liked to believe that they were all together now, somewhere. And hopefully they now knew what had happened to their youngest.

Deiforms, Chapter One: The End of All Things (Part Two)
masterpost
Sean didn’t dream very often.
When he did, they were vague, unclear, sort of blurry. Just the kind of thing where you get a sort of feeling when you wake up that something happened.
This started off like that- vague and blurry, but then, all of a sudden, like an image loading in all of a sudden, it all clicked. And he was standing in the road across from Frost’s Diner, staring down at a charred and blackened corpse. It wasn’t familiar- the lack of any distinguishing features kind of did that- but he recognized the hoodie.
It was him.
He looked up, and the town was on fire- but not regular fire: red flames that licked the sky. He could have sworn at some point he’d heard that red fire wasn’t supposed to be very hot, but here, it seemed almost to be scalding hot, even hundreds of feet from him, even nowhere near the place he stood.
He woke up the next morning to the familiar sound of his mother in the kitchen, arguing with someone. And, considering his father was out of town and his sister was hardly an arguer, there was really only one person it could be.
He managed to fight his way out of his covers without falling on his face, fighting his way down the hallway to the kitchen-slash-diningroom where his mother stood with her back to him, busy furiously scrubbing out a bowl while she bitched away to the only other person in the room.
“Hey Mama,” Sean said, his voice rough. “Hey Madi.”
Madison Costello, much like her twin brother, was far from tall or lanky. In fact, she was probably a good head shorter than Ash, and twice his weight. Her hair was trimmed short, her wiry glasses held to her face by a broad nose. She wore a sweater vest over a dress shirt, clean gray slacks and a cross necklace that Sean knew better than anyone was just for appearances.
“Sean, baby,” His mother turned around, a flash in her steely gray eyes. “It’s past noon. What were you doing up so late that you slept in so much.”
“And why isn’t your truck in the driveway?” Madi added, an almost playful smirk on her face.
“What?!”
“Uh, I went to a party. No drinking or anything, but it went a lot later than it was supposed to. I got a ride from Ash.”
Madi’s smile flickered, a questioning look replacing it. Sean’s mother didn’t notice, just clicking her tongue and turning back to the dishes. Sean raised an eyebrow at her, and she just shook her head.
‘We’ll talk later.’ She mouthed.
Feeling a little out of the loop, he nodded along. He often felt out of the loop around Madi, almost all the time. It wasn’t her fault, he thought, she simply was… quicker than him.
That was the thing about Madi. She thought of things before anyone else did, and then didn’t elaborate. She just assumed everyone else was having the same revelations she was having, and didn’t stop to consider that maybe they weren’t. Sean had known her about as long as he’d known Ash- which was nearly his whole life- but he wasn’t sure he’d ever had the same thought as she did at the same time she had.
He was just… behind.
When he’d first started hanging out with her and her friends, back when they got together a few months prior, he’d been sure that he’d be left out and confused and alone, but, inexplicably, he found her usual crowd was hardly any more put together than him.
Dean, for example, was a lanky kid who looked faintly like if some Kpop star had gotten their face slammed into concrete a couple dozen times. He was attractive, in a very tragic, missing a front tooth, broken nose, sort of way. Too boot, he was a benchwarmer on the basketball team, where he spent a good amount of his time daydreaming about space ships.
His main claim to fame, however, was his girlfriend.
Lillian Robyn, like all Robyns, was absolutely drop dead gorgeous. The kind of gorgeous where you’re not sure if plastic surgery was involved. She’d been a pageant star in DC as a child, until her parents divorced and her dad remarried to the only lawyer in Rome, and they settled down in the only house in the neighborhood with a third story.
Neither of them were very intelligent. They hung out with Madi because she made them seem smarter, she hung out with them because they kept away any assholes. And they all hung out with Sean because he made them all look very smart and very hot in comparison, as far as he knew.
He did kind of miss his old friends sometimes- Ash and Miki and Lori and Kyrie- but this was better for him, he reminded himself. This was less likely to get him labeled a bad kid.
The second Madi managed to shoo him out of the kitchen, he knew he was in trouble, and yet he remained firmly excluded from anything resembling a loop as she hauled him down the hallway, to his bedroom, where she shut the door and turned on him.
“So, Ash gave you a ride home?”
“Yeah?” Sean sat on the bed. “He always does, what’s the problem?”
“The problem is,” Madi said, slowly, condescendingly. “I don’t want my boyfriend running around with a guy who’s known for stealing boyfriends.”
“'Steal boyfriends,'” He huffed. “He kissed Lars Milyama once. And he didn’t even know him and what’s-his-name were going out-”
“That’s not the point,” Madi pouted. “You said when we started going out that you’d stop hanging out with them.”
“I though you didn’t have beef with him-”
“Besides, why wouldn’t you call me to drive you? You know I would have-”
“Because- because-” She stared at him, raising one eyebrow, and his voice gave out. “I don’t know.”
The butterflies that came with being in love sure felt an awful lot like a panic attack sometimes, he thought.
Luckily, Madi seemed to get the memo, and just sat beside him on the bed. "Sorry for grilling you, it's just…. I'm worried, you know? You've been going to a lot of parties, and driving home drunk-"
"I didn't drive drunk last night."
"I almost wish you had." She muttered.
Secretly, he agreed, but he didn’t say anything. He wasn’t supposed to have heard that, anyways.
“Whatever,” She said, waving a hand. “You need to get dressed, we’re all going to hang out at the park, and you need to at least be wearing something clean.”
By the time he was dressed, he was already wishing he’d pretended his headache was worse to get out of this, but it was far too late at this point. He was going to go to the park and he was going to have a good time whether he liked it or not.
Madi was sitting in her car by the time he got out there, scrolling through Insta on her phone. She glanced up absently when he got in, and for a second he thought she was going to say something about him taking too long and he braced himself, but instead she just snorted. “Your shirt’s on backwards.”
Embarrassed, he managed to twist it around until it sat correctly, buckling up as she pulled out of the driveway.
The park wasn’t really a park, just a field of grass between the highway and the local church, but that was pretty much the only place for people to hang out, and the church didn’t mind, so that was that. The only alternative, after all, was Walmart.
Pulling into the church parking lot, Madi’s phone rang. Before she could dismiss it, Sean glanced over and saw the caller ID.
“What’s Ash calling you for?”
“Hell if I know.”
“You should probably answer.”
She gave him a look and he shrunk back a bit. She declined the call and climbed out of the car, brushing her short curls from her face.
For a second he watched her walk away, trying to hype himself up enough to follow her.
He knew he was in love with her, but the near constant nausea of being around her was a bit much, he thought.
He got out of the car.

Sean "Diddy" Combs is not backing down in his request to be released from jail on bond.
The disgraced rapper — who is currently behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn — sent in an appeal on Monday, September 30, to overturn the latest judge's ruling to deny him bail, according to USA Today.
The 58-year-old Bad Boy mogul — who, last month, was arrested and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution — has been denied two $50 million bail offers since his September 16 arrest.
Judge Robyn Tarnofsky denied Diddy's first $50 million bail offer on September 17, noting that his alleged crimes happened "behind closed doors" — and therefore, that no safety measurements his legal team could ensure on bail would be enough to keep potential victims safe.
One day later, Judge Andrew L. Carter ruled the same — Diddy's team's bail proposal of $50 million, GPS monitoring and strict limits on visitors — was "insufficient" to ensure community safety.
Diddy, who has pleaded not guilty to all the charges against him, plans to testify in his upcoming trial, per his lawyer, Marc Agnifilo. Though a date has not yet been set, the attorney told the press after Judge Carter's ruling that he is "going to try and get [Diddy's] case to trial as quickly as possible."
Of all of the disturbing allegations in the 14-page indictment, the descriptions of Diddy's supposed "freak off" parties have made the most headlines.
Per the documents, the "All About the Benjamins" rapper allegedly "used force" to "cause victims to engage in extended sex acts with male commercial sex workers that Combs arranged, directed, masturbated during and often electronically recorded."
Alleged "freak off" supplies were also found at Diddy's homes in Miami and Los Angeles, including 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant and drugs.
In addition to the federal criminal case against the "I'll Be Missing You" singer, many women have also filed civil suits against Diddy, alleging sexual abuse.
Diddy's ex-girlfriend Cassie settled with the rapper in 2023 after suing the rapper for rape and abuse. Earlier this year, Diddy was seen physically abusing Cassie and dragging her by the hair in a hotel surveillance video from 2016.
If you or someone you know has been sexually assaulted, contact the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-HOPE (4673) or go to https://www.rainn.org/

My Thoughts on Gargoyles Issue 6: Underwater
Another great issue with a few jaw dropping, surprising moments.
spoilers
Brooklyn is Narrating, he seems to be struggling as leader, while Goliath is in Prison. He doesn’t think he’s doing anything right.
Goliath refuses to be rescued and thinks it’s best he stays because he thinks it will make things worse.
So Dino Dracon tries to blow up Grisha Volkov. I thought it was going to be a first character death for this comic but he survives, he is badly injured though.
Volkov thinks Brod and Dane are behind the bombing and asks his son to get rid of Brod. We don’t see his son at first but it made me think that we already know this character and made me keep guessing throughout the comic.
So now Dino Dracon has got Sanchez vs Yingpei and Brod/Dane vs Volkov and is now going after Izaak Slaughter.
So It was Xanatos who hired Tobe Crest to be Goliath’s Lawyer, Hmm i’m starting to think it was Xanatos who donated the resources to the Gargoyles Task Force. He did have this plan during the SLG series and Phase 1 was the Halloween Party.
Brooklyn asks Coldstone and Coldfire to protect them during the day, as he still doesn’t trust Xanatos. I wonder he knows something about Xanatos during his Timedancing journey.
John Casterway is back, I wonder who he is standing next to him.
This took me by surprise, Antoinette visiting Broadway asking for help to stop her uncle. I know that Tony must have told his sister about the Gargoyles but how did she know where they lived? Did she just guess or has connections. The castle is under lockdown too, unless that was only for the day time.
I’m not trusting her at the moment but also concerned about her at the same time because if Dino finds out that she’s been going behind his back and trying to stop him, she could be in big trouble. I do have a theory that she could end up in Sevarius hands, he does have a syringe with Angela’s DNA in it and he was going to use it on Robyn Canmore in the Bad Guys comic series.
I love the 2 page spread of Brooklyn Timedancing Journey:-
- 210 bce Brooklyn visits China and come across the Terra-Cotta Soldiers.
- 2198, Thought that his visit to 2198 happened before he met Katana but she’s with him, unless he visit’s it twice. I wonder if lost his eye during 2198.
- 1942, visit’s USS Nashville.
Broadway ignores Brooklyn’s orders about staying at the castle and goes to Izaak Slaughter film studios, assuming to warn him about Dino Dracon or help him.
Lex follows him. I just love their little chat. Broadway ask’s Lex if he wants to be his Second for his and Angela’s Mating Ceremony, Lex says yes. Also Broadway asking Lex about his long distance chat with Amp, Lex just smiles and quickly changes the subject.
So how did Dino Dracon get a hold of Cyberbiotics drone bots, did they buy them or steal them.
The ending was a surprise, turns out Volkov son is Wolf, he wants to get rid of Brod but with Tony in the same Prison cell as him, Wolf ask’s Dino is it ok if Tony get’s caught up in the crossfire too, which he’s fine with. Wolf will also try to get rid of Goliath too. So is he going alone or is Jackal and Hyena going with him too.
Demona returns in issue 7, I can’t wait but I wonder how she fits into all this, i’m excited.
