I love the idea of jedi babies with psychometry just.... latching onto random things that have good memories attached and carrying it around like a teddy bear. Like baby Quin found a spatula with a memory of a kid and their parent lovingly making cookies in it and he slept with a dollar store spatula for the next 3 years. Cal found some silverware that a happy group of friends used for all of their special occasions, so his pockets end up full of comfort spoons. and forks. and butter knives.

Day 4: Psychometry/Wartime Love Letters Track: 'Don’t Give Up On Me' - Andy Grammer (Spotify / YouTube)

Hopefully you can understand the little story happening. These were some tough prompts to show with only visuals, but it was an extremely fun challenge and in the end I’m very happy with how this turned out!

A small hint on that stone though, I’m calling it an essence stone; a reflection of what’s most important to your soul. It’s extremely rare and not very easy to read or understand. And Obi-Wan picked it up thinking it simply a stone that reminded him of Quinlan, so he sent it to him none the wiser. And Quinlan, upon receiving it, thought it was funny that it reminded Obi-Wan of him, since to him it was clearly representing Obi-Wan.

I'd like to think that Quinlan Vos helped Cal understand his psychometry when he was a youngling and/or a padawan, during quiet times, to Jaro Tapal complete dismay who wouldn't want any bad influence on his padawan. (no weapons involved, only nice things, with sweet echoes. Quinlan is not THAT irresponsible. I think. Aayla turned out okay after all) With all the banter involving links with other characters like Greez interest in Yaddle or even Qui-Gon friendship with Cordova, I think it would have been cute to learn more form Cal and his childhood at the Temple.

head-canon: after moving away, kusuke goes everywhere with a notepad and pen and everyone from his professors to his peers just attribute it to him being a total genius needing scratch paper on hand 24/7. (though he never writes anything on the pages anyway. probably a weird genius quirk or something, they assume.)

on a completely unrelated note, every other week since kusuo’s older brother moved away, he’s received a letter in the mail from kusuke! his friends and parents are always a little confused at the letter’s contents and WHY kusuo’s always quick to open it, going “knowing him he has a LOT to say which is annoying.��

the letters are just blank pages torn out of a notepad, after all.

do the last (4) jedi ever consult quinlan vos if they realize they don't know something lol? i think it'd be hilarious if they've struggled to piece together their remaining jedi knowledge for years with their varying levels of training and force ghost aid only to find out that there's been a temple-trained jedi master kicking around this entire time.

realistically they probably don't find out he's alive, but this idea's too good to pass up

it's a real pity i don't have a bit more of an idea for a jacen syndulla with psychometry starts dating a nightsister fic because i already have a killer first line:

WHAT WE KNOW OF THE KIFFAR PEOPLE:

I was never sure (not having read all of Legends) but going through the High Republic Character Encyclopedia and Dark Disciple, it's (Disney) canon that Kiffar markings are definitely tattoos and they receive them in childhood. It seems they receive them at least before the age of four years old, as Vildar has his in a flashback he has to when he was that age, in his birth village:

There also seems to be some variety in them--Vildar's are white, Quinlan's are yellow--and possibly further tattoos, as Quinlan has a yellow one on his arm as well:

And it makes sense that these are probably clan-related, which the Star Wars Databank backs up:

"Kiffar seem human in appearance, but are identifiable from facial tattoos which indicates their clan affilation [sic] on their home planets of Kiffu and Kiffex."

And while psychometry was not limited to just the Kiffar (as there's no indication that Cal Kestis was Kiffar and Karr Nuq Sin from Force Collector definitely wasn't Kiffar, Rey and Ahsoka both seem to have some level of ability to do it), it seems like it's slightly more common in their population:
