Finally got around on doing the "Cosmic Superstar" Questline and I'd find it really sexy of them if they'd consider to elaborate on this line because I'm at this point so unhealthily invested in the whole structure of the IPC that I'm taking any crumbs such as this dialogue
Given that we're talking about the IPC, the type of sanctioning they'd (presumably) most commonly enforce on the Planets the "own" would of course be an economic sanction (i.e. in this case a ban/restriction on the film industry? though I can't bring myself to believe that they'd really solely restrict the film industry), but to which extend do they enforce these sanctions and under which circumstances?
Its highly debatable if the IPC would care (or rather to which extend they'd care) about the negative impact their sanctions would have on the Planet in question - or more specifically it's economy - for as long as they themselves are gaining something from it without incurring losses. The only time they might care is if it'd be better to invest in a Planets growth due to long term benefit.
Example: if Topaz would've managed to "seal the deal" and get Jarilo-IV under the control of the IPC then the population would've not only been forced asked to â¨work for IPC ⨠due to the debt they (don't) owe them, but they would've very likely also ended up under at least one economic sanction and considering the current state of the Planet there's not much to take aside from Geomarrow which they would have to hand over unconditionally.
Anyone who'd complain about it being an important resource would simply get told that the IPC will take care of them / is taking care of them so they better shush given the debt they (don't) owe them. If they want to complain then they know who signed the documents.
#honkai star rail#hsr#rambling#mind you the whole âSynesthesia Dreamscapeâ thing is also interesting and I love how the questline itself is written#but I got sidetracked so hard the moment the IPC came up đ#I feel like the IPC would attempt to suck a planet dry of resources without much care#and only do something like a trade agreement if the opposing faction is too big to control#since that way they can still get what they want (to some extend at least)#reblog - misc

Hello! I read your post about the grim reminder 2.0 in snk chapter 100. You said that if it's really Paradis that is going to attack and take revenge of Marley at the festival then they would be dumb, and this idea is quite good, since it's really strange to me that with ppl very clever and careful as Hanji, Pixis or Armin they'd do something like that in front of possible allies (the other ambassadors); then for you who plotted the kidnapping of Pieck and Porco?
Yeah, based on the people in positions of power and how they tend to play their handsâŚ..I think anything that reckless wouldnât be their choice. Like you said, the foreign parties present would create a disaster for Paradis, who honestly should know that their best and only hope to escape being an isolationist island always on the verge of invasion and mass slaughterâŚâŚ.is to become part of the international community.
To form alliances, and do what nations do in terms of trade agreements and treaties and diplomacy. They cannot hope to survive in the long term unless they can establish themselves in the world as more than a scary threat. Standing around going âOOOOH WALL TITANSâ only works for so long, especially if technology continues to march on at the speed of the real world. Within a generation, there would be bombs capable of wiping out the Wall Titans and planes capable of flying over to deliver the payloads.
BOOM, no more Paradis.
So killing a bunch of foreign dignitaries and foreign press would be a really shitty way to go about things. Too short-sighted for people as intelligent and cunning as Pixis, Hange, and Armin.
Now, there are a lot of players on the field at the moment.Â
Tybur and his faction, who have made it clear they intend to get rid of the old military powers that be.
Lady Kiyomi and her bunch are also up to things.
Eren is up to things.
If the Warriors were getting nabbed by the Paradis folks, Iâd imagine itâs in an effort to force open dialogue with them as opposed to them launching a big nasty attack on Marley and its VIP guests.
Ultimately, the fate of all Eldians cannot be separated. The ones living outside the Walls may think that getting rid of their âevilâ kin on the island will somehow earn them better conditions and eventual forgiveness, but theyâre merely buying a little extra time. I think the writing is on the wall, and people like Zeke and Pieck and Reiner KNOW THIS. The Warriors have, themselves, been kind of shady in the last several chapters in terms of expressing misgivings about their peopleâs future and intentionally sticking to the party line because they know theyâre being watched.
Zeke /may/ have been in contact with Eren. Heâs definitely got his own plans, either way.Â
