#yup #bg3 fandom #fandom sucks #i was shockered to learn they did this to shadowheart #i guess mostly bc shse has such a huge fanbase even outside of niche places like tumblr [and so my focus was more on how they do this to w #ll]#however in retrospect i should have known better #i was part of the marvel and teen wolf fandoms after all #there was no fandom that exceled at elevating a bland white man in the face of a nuanced woman [especially if she was brown and black] than #the marvel character #and i can see why they would for shart bc she isnt as 'easy' to hate as lae'zel but doesnt check their acceptable woman box the way karlach #does #they dont know what to do with her. they cant fully disparage her in fear of her fans so they use the 'not enough content/bad writing' excu #this way they can put their faux sad faces on and be like oh we wish~~ we wish upon a star!!#oh if only larian cared!#and one can say there is much larian couldve done with shadowheart #but there is good reason i say that if tav didnt exist bg3 would have two main characters - and that is wyll and shadowheart #and unlike wyll there is so much more consistent meat for her #especially in s2
