when will the toronto L return from war?
#i just#i also want to note that it's not really fair that we have to play toronto 5 times#and minnesota only plays them 4#we play boston 4 times#and ny and ottawa play 4 times#and also that we weren't able to cash in on the tor losing streak at the beginning of the year :(#we need to have a serious conversation about the reffing in this game also#i saw on twitter that catherine dubois hit and there was suggestion that the league needs to looks at it again#which i am all for#because it was bad#hopefully with minnesota depth back they can put toronto back where they belong#alex carpenter if you can beat toronto in regulation i will stop saying suck it every time mpp gets points to beat out your lead#every team should play every other team the same number of times#and it's especially important when you have such a big divide between the top 3 and bottom 3 teams

My Highlights from the Q&A: (I paraphrased some of the questions/answers, but most of it is direct quotes)
Q: Out of all the different jerseys that you wear, which one is your favorite? A: The Jersey Jersey
Q: What's the most fun/exciting part of the game when you're playing hockey? A: OT Win, especially at Home
Q: What is your favorite meal to eat here in New Jersey? A: The Italian spots here. I love Italian food, I grew up next to Italy
Q: Why do you wear number thirteen? A: I wear it because of my brother, my big brother always wore 13 and kind of also a little bit because both of us had the same favorite hockey player back in the day, Pavel Datsyuk.
Q: Besides the Rock, what NHL arena do you like playing in the most? A: Vegas, T-Mobile Arena -- its a vibe there, definitely fun
Q: Favorite and memorable goal you've ever scored? A: First NHL Goal in Ottawa
Q: Top Three Moments as a New Jersey Devil? A: My first NHL game, at the Rock versus Colorado, we won 4-2. Second one is first ever playoff game at the Rock versus Tampa, and, so far, the most memorable thing would be the Game 7 win against the Rangers. Gotta go with that one.
Q: Where do you still wanna go in the NJ/NY area? A: I've been to Asbury Park and I kind of want to see some more stuff from the Shore.
Q: What do you like to do to unwind and relax in the off season? A: I love the water, so lakes, rivers, ocean, I just try to be outside when its sunny. Don't like to be at home when its sun out.
Q: What is your favorite genre of music/band/artist? A: I do like Tom Petty
Q: Besides, Nico, what other nicknames do your teammates have for you? A: Hisch, HischSHAO, HischSHAO Jr
Q: What are you personally looking forward in the leadership position on and off the ice, going into this season as the Captain? A: Just to help the team as much as I can on and off the ice. I think obviously on the ice its clear, but also off the ice, just being as good of a person I can be for guys that need me in anything and I think thats the reason why I got Captain too, so thats what's I'm trying to do.
Q: What's your favorite ice cream flavor? A: Strawberry Vanilla
Q: Do you eat bagels and what is your favorite type of bagel to eat? A: Here in Jersey there are great bagels, I like the salmon cream cheese bagel, everything bagel.
Q: What's your favorite family tradition? A: Probably sit together dinners where we eat fondue or raclette where the dinner takes a little bit longer but you have enough time to speak with your family and friends, so thats always a good time. I feel like I always try to do it with them once I come back during summer.
Q: What's your favorite place in Switzerland? A: Bern
Q: Besides anyone on the Devils, who is your favorite current player in the NHL? A: McDavid
Q: Whats been your favorite year? A: I would say last year was pretty fun
Q: Who's your best friend on the Devils? A: Those are ALL of my friends. We got a really good group of guys, so I'm doing well with everyone, but I would probably say I'll do the most together with Jonas 'cause I've known him the longest. I've been playing with him in the Swiss National Team when we were younger so I would say that's kind of the guy I'd go with dinner and stuff but obviously I like ALL of them.
Q: Hardest team to play against? A: Carolina.
Q: What's your favorite Girl Scout Cookie flavor? Do you know what those are? A: (He did not know what those were and so he said) No cookies for me.
Q: (I didn't hear the question that well, but I think it was something like this) Who on the team would you want your daughter to date? A: I would say everyone because they know if they're not nice to my daughter they'd be in trouble.
#Nico Hischier#New Jersey Devils#Jonas Siegenthaler#NJD#Devils#pls watch this entire thing I swear its worth it#he's so sweet#someone asks for him to say hello to their math teacher and he goes will you get a good grade if I do this#what an absolute sweetheart#Youtube

“i keep her heart in a box next to my bed and take it out sometimes before i go to sleep…”
|10:30 pm]
[ Current Music | the cure: all ]
what’s up. it’s been awhile. we had one of the best and worst weekends as a band ever. our record release was great- kids went pretty insane and we sold a bunch of cds. however, our trip to cleavland was horrid.
first, we leave late for the show. next we get a flat outside of toledo- the tow truck guy picks us up in a van to go and get a tire. on the way i tell him we are in town for the adult film festival. a half hour later we get another flat. this time 20 miles outside of cleavland. the towtruck driver tells us that we won’t be able to get a tire that night as he tows us. at least he buys a cd cause i tell him we sound like slipknot. i then call the promoter and tell her our story, i tell her to have our friends in the band Deadtofall come pick us up cause they are from chicago too. instead she gets super pissy and is all “i’m coming to get you, i’m leaving the show unattended… blah blah”. she gets to the toll plaza that we are stuck at and we grab our guitars and some cds and get in. the whole ride she bitches at me about how she thinks this is our fault and shit. we get to the show and borrow deadtofall and the funeral’s stuff and play one of the worst shows we have ever played, honestly we were so sloppy. this had something to do with playing on other equipment and so forth. we sold a couple of cds anyway which was nice. 100 demons was supposed to play next on santa sangres equipment but since they broke up, they were going to use our equipment but we had none because of the flats… to make a long story short they weren’t given any equipment and got pretty pissed off. people ended up demanding money back- they wanted some- in the end we got paid nothing (because of the hassle we “created” by getting two flats) and ended up spending a fortune on getting towed and new tires. deadtofall drove some of us home that night and some slept in the toll plaza and waited till morning to walk two miles to get a new tire. on the way a cop stopped them and when giving them ride informed them he had picked up 100 demons the night before for having drugs in their van. yikes. ah you win some you lose some.
the dates for our winter tour:
12.30 evansville, in - 7a7p
12.31 cincinatti, Oh- 7a7p
1.1 syracuse-w/ throwdown
1.2 ottawa, on-w/throwdown
1.3 montreal, pq -throwdown
1.4 long island, ny
1.5 philly
1.6 nyc-w/throwdown
and a review of our new record from hanging like a hex fanzine:
“This easily wins scariest layout of the year award. Very blunt, very graphic, and very disturbing, this Chicago piledriver unleases it’s most solid work to date. Whereas I really liked what they were doing before, but felt that they dragged out their songs, and overloaded them with too much baggage at times, this debut full length simplifies things a bit. The heaviness and technicality is still there in spades, but the songs have shortened up a bit, and are a bit more concise, which is something this band really needed. And it works really well. Playing pummelling metalcore with down-tuned riffing, and a heavily pessimistic view of the world, Arma just crush everything in their path, and continue to maim with no concern for the past, present, or future. It’s a great effort with supurb recording (heavy on the bass I might add) and a bleak outlook.”
in other good news i’m finally gonna get to hang out with this girl i have been missing for the past month or so. shes come’s into town tommorrow- yep.

“Faithless is he who says farewell just as the path darkens”
hey lovers,
so i have been having a horrible week. i’m not even sure why. i guess cause i’m really alone. nobody is really around and it’s cold as hell. then i read this horrible review of our record- on most days it would make me laugh but last night it was the worst. most of the reviews have been good but this one trashed it “horrible, gutteral vocals… droning guitars” haha.
it made up for it though when i went to Lord of the Rings at midnight last night. easily one of the best movies of the last decade. phenomonal.
i dunno, also we’ve been trying to write as a band lately and it’ been good at times and horrible at others. we’ll see how it turns out-

“an empty house and a cold bed”
whoops. i read back that last entry and realized that i whipped it off like shit, it doesn’t really make alot of sense. okay so the follow up- i think more of how i have been feeling lately is like- i look bac five years, almost 10 years and i’m in the same place i was then. i live in the bedroom i grew up in at my parents house. i am trying to finish school and i am still doing hardcore bands. living this thing. i dunno it kind of got me down- like i feel like i hven’t eally made any progress, like i haven’t grown up at all. whatever. does that even make anymore sense? like i don’t really feel like being alive but at the same time i don’t want to be dead. so i trod through life being neiher alive or dead… anyway here’s my week:
thursday- fallout boy practice, fallout boy show in milwaukee
friday- fallout boy recording, Arma Angelus show with deadtofall, then fallout boy is playing on loyola radio.
saturday- fallout boy recording, sleep
oh yeah come see Arma Angelus at the fireside Dec. 28 if you are around: it’s with Knives Out (ex-american nightmare) and Suicide Note.
Goodnight.

Dan Jones On Ways to Be actually A Prosperous King.
Torment: Tides from Numenera shows that a lot of modern-day of artistic success stories: the Kickstarter play. There's a more sophisticated way to talk to individuals to pick their ideal day in Word 2007: choose the Time Picker management, which incorporates a month-by-month schedule to the type that shows up when you select this and also decide on the down arrowhead to the right from the current access. Pepper Live In late 2015, Economical Method authorized along with powerhouse nation label Major Machine Records, and their initial album for their new sponsors, Bang, Zoom, Crazy ... Hello, was launched in April 2016. I completed the NY resident tax return to begin with, wishing that this will update TaxAct that I am a nonresident from MA and also RI. When http://pretultineretii.info opened the MA nonresident form I needed to invest manually my address which must have been actually moved automatically. While it's true that a dish from fresh sushi as well as papaya could cost you lower than a box from Raisin Wheat bran, the business economics of resigning in Hawaii include over the easy math of substitution. I read these reviews, along with a considerably shocked look on my face ... however your opinion created me burst out laughing. http://pretultineretii.info is determining how to escape that road, or even blocking that, decrease the results of past cruelties as well as abuses. The French arrangement was much more for growth, as well as by the end of the seventeenth century, they had removaled past the St. Lawrence and also Ottawa rivers right into the western side Great Lakes area (view Figure 1). Later they established messages in the heart from the Hudson Gulf boondocks. Even better, there are actually resources for edit as well as export, thus you can transform an Online Picture into a looping back-and-forth GIF to post online, or even blend a number of right into a short film. Accessify prides in website accessibility as well as among their many devices is their Quick Form Contractor. Listed here are the 10 trickiest interview inquiries implied to trip you up, along with suggestions on effective ways to answer them as well as example answers. Amount concrete as you pour along with a screed board (a straight 2x4 about 1 ft. longer than the width of the pathway). That is the only description for why Julie's moms and dads placed small amounts of money in many different banking companies, such as money market accounts and also Compact discs. To select a kind command in Word 2007, made the arrow in the table cell where you desire the management, click the Designer tab, and also decide on the appropriate symbol in the Controls section, or hit the arrowhead in the bottom-right section of the Heritage Tools image and choose the management off the drop-down list. In the course of both interval, condition signboard disallows raised usage from red or white wine and sens, and decreased usage from beer. The White Home's Data-Driven Fair treatment Campaign (DDJ) and Police Information Campaign (PDI) are actually pair of instances from just how the federal government can evolve services at the condition and also regional level by assisting technology and bringing together fully commited reformers. If you take alteration seriously, in some cases the process will definitely lead you to inquiries you may certainly not address, exemptions or objections to your premise, cases that don't fit, loose ends or disputes that simply won't disappear. This is not the first really good vs. heinous publication I've gone through, however that is among the great ones. That is, if you locate an essay that quotes a number of data on behalf of its own argument, usually the writer of the essay is actually using someone else's information. On getting in the casual ward, or even 'Spike' as it was actually often phoned, a vagrant's clothes would be actually taken possession of as well as fumigated over night in a sulphur or vapor oven to eliminate any sort of vermin or even fleas - commonly shoes and outfits came out in a worse condition compared to when they entered the oven. Sets are actually made off components that may most successfully be actually manufacturing plant constructed in pre-fabricated or even, occasionally, modular kind; consequently very most come as structural insulated panels with wood frameworks, along with prices showing majority investment by producer. Substances: 150 g cored as well as peeled off food preparation apples, chopped; 600 ml double cream; 4 egg whites; 200 g caster sugar; 2 tbsp rosewater; 1 sprig of rosemary; ratafia or amaretti biscuits or even wafers. This coincides type that an independent person or even a person with rental residential or commercial properties data and also is consequently more thorough. Whatever the instance, he is actually declaring the right from the sovereign individuals making their government do exactly what they want this to carry out, and also refrain things they do not prefer this to carry out, in the teeth from established adversary from a supervisory course and also administrative state that desire not merely different policies but above all to sustain their own regulation. Visit the Young Readers Facility before the noontime testings of Charm as well as the Beast on Sunday, February 11th, The Problem Before Christmas on Sunday, February 18th and Batman: Disguise of the Vision on Saturday, February 25th, for exciting film-related tasks with produceds and publications. A factory totally reset wipes out everything, and comes back the phone to a supply condition equally this ran out package, or from the manufacturing plant. Even though this wasn't a pageturner, Morrie's quotes in this book describes everybody's lifestyle, including mine, which is why i maintained reading since i constantly could relate to his illustrations concerning lifestyle. One may argue that, even when the President is without authority to participate in a self-executing negotiation changing state prepotency, Congress could have Effective and also required Condition authorization to implement a non-self-executing negotiation if an overseas nation has actually participated in or endangered war. After landing near Margate in Kent, this is potential the battle-hardened Spanish soldiers would certainly have been in the roads of London within a full week. My remedies was actually to make use of Excel, I created a duplicate from the pre-printed form on the 1st piece and also padlock that piece with the exception of the tissues where you need to type-in the data. When people do not really want something that the management state considereds as salutary or even required, this is simply imposed by fiat. I might provide unlimited quotes coming from this publication but actually you have no justification to certainly not review this publication thus suck this up as well as read this book. After the 1st battle south of Cornwall, Drake was gotten to stalk the Spanish squadron along with a sunlight burning at his demanding as a guide to the complying with British fleet. A Broken Heart Looms Like Dark Clouds on Cory M. Coons’ New Single – “Long Hard Rain”
Cory M. Coons teams up with producer Marc Muir and label-mate Ed Roman for new melancholic single, “Long Hard Rain” For many a broken heart can feel like a long hard rain as the emotional, dark clouds roll in. Cory M. Coons new single, “Long Hard Rain”, is for all the folks who have felt beaten down at one point in their lives. The lyrics depict a person who is heartbroken, spiritually or romantically. But there is still hope as they hold out for love and realize that the clouds will dissipate along with their emotional bondage. “Long Hard Rain gives us an impression of a tumultuous time, with a sense of foreboding, sort of like a darker cloud of emotions or energy hanging over one’s mind and spirit of things to come.” – Cory M. Coons “Long Hard Rain” was written by Cory M. Coons and produced by his good friend Marc Muir. MTS Record Label-mate and good friend, Ed Roman, provided stellar Hammond b-3 style organ tracks while Muir added bass, atmospheric guitar, electric piano and filler organ. “Long Hard Rain” was released on July 15 on MTS Records. https://youtu.be/fz829TiZyVk About Cory M. Coons Cory M. Coons is a professional independent performer, musician and award-winning songwriter from Eastern Ontario, Canada, just south of Ottawa. With over 30 years of experience in music, it has been his passion since his early teens as a guitar player/bassist & singer in High School, and shortly after while traveling and performing in a variety of very popular cover bands throughout the mid-to-late 90’s in both Ontario and the United States in well known local high-energy acts such as “Heads Or Tales” and “Shake The Tree”, as well as the band “U.S”, (which toured most of the South Eastern United States in 1998’). Then later formed his own Classic-Melodic Rock influenced band “Tycoons”, releasing two independent recordings and performing throughout Eastern Ontario, Northern NY State, and Quebec in the early 2000’s. As a Roots-Rock/Americana blend of Singer-songwriter, Cory has amassed more than 170,000 plays on Spotify for his melodic brand of roots-flavored rock. His work with famed legendary record producer Ron Nevison, has earned him industry recognition from the Los Angeles Music Awards, the Producer’s Choice Honors, The Josie Music Awards, International Singer-Songwriter Association and the Radio Music Awards, among others. With a catalog that boasts several critically-acclaimed full length albums and EPs, as well as a handful of well-received singles. Since 2004’, Cory has officially released 4 full length albums and 2 E.p’s, (with another recent E.p released in 2020), featuring the singles “Leavin” and “Good Times Gone”. He recently released a previous album “The Long Road Home” in 2018, produced by Multi-Platinum Veteran Music Producer Ron Nevison, (Heart, Bad Company, Damn Yankees, Survivor, Styx, Night Ranger). The album was nominated in 2019 for “Male Album Of The Year” at one of the biggest Independent Award Shows in North America, the “Josie Music Awards”, and he as well had 4 nominations at the 2020 JMA’s, 3 more at the 2021 JMA’s, and is currently nominated at the upcoming 2022 JMA event again in two categories, “E.p of the Year”, & “Single of the Year” (Americana) for his song Freedom Road, this time being held in October at the Grand Ole Opry House. Cory also earned a nomination at the 2021 “International Singer Songwriter Association” (ISSA) Awards in 2021 for “International Male Vocalist of the Year”. In 2020, Cory’s Nashville recorded E.p “33.3”, and previous album “The Long Road Home” were released on MTS Records, along with the “Share A Little Time” (E.p) and a re-issue of his “Retrospective” compilation (spanning 1999′ – 2010′). The single “Leavin” was released early in 2020, and the follow up single “Good Times Gone” was released in June of 2020, from the recent Ep “33.3”. In December of 2020, Cory released “Burning Bright at Christmas Time” on MTS Records. The enchanting blend of acoustic guitar and sleigh bells captured the spirit of the holiday, and Coons’ melodic sensibilities remain intact with another rootsy release that feels at home next to his finest releases. “Burning Bright” also featured Coons’ then, 6-year-old daughter, Charleigh, on backing vocals, giving the track a real family touch. Another independent single “Far Away” was released in early 2021, which also featured Charleigh Lynn Coons (at 7) on backing harmonies on the track, along with his single “Freedom Road” which dropped in late 2021 on MTS Records, and currently a new upcoming single is set for release on July 15th of 2022, “Long Hard Rain”, also on the MTS label. Hello! I was wondering what the difference between the "Philip Cast" and the "Angelica Cast"? I am seeing Hamilton in Denver (AHHH cannot wait!!!). Thank you!
This is also for the anon who messaged me about pretty much the same thing. (Sorry for taking so long to get back to both of you. I’m only just now seeing your ask!)
Basics: They are two completely different casts currently touring the U.S. They go to different cities, so if you want to see a particular cast, be sure to check which cast is going to which locations before you buy your tickets. The Angelica Tour is the first national tour and the Philip Tour is the second. My Angelica Tour cast list has (finally) been updated, and maybe at some point I’ll get around to writing up the Philip Tour cast list, but those things take forever. (I have since completed it.) Whichever cast pops up when you click a certain location on the Hamilton website is the cast that will be performing there.
Why are they named what they are? It’s common practice to name tours after characters or recognizable aspects in the show to easily differentiate them as separate casts. (Ex: Wicked’s Emerald City and Munchkinland Tours, Rent’s Angel and Benny Tours)
Is anything else different about them? Ensemble tracks might differ based on how that company was cast. This can be to accommodate the abilities of certain dancers or for a bunch of other reasons. (Ex: I know the Angelica Tour M3 and M4 tracks are swapped so M4 is George Eacker instead of M3 like the Broadway version. In Chicago, W3/thebullet does not do the Sally Hemings part as in New York)
Which is better? A common saying amongst some theatre fans is “The show is the show is the show.” Basically, if the show is amazing (which Hamilton is, obviously) then it will stand alone as an amazing show and story with strong characters regardless of who is playing them or what city you are seeing it in. While I ascribe to this, I also think it’s a bit naive to think every single actor portrays a character exactly the same. Furthermore, everyone has preferences when it comes to how a character is played. I personally don’t like overly comedic Burrs, but some think the opposite. I personally think the Chicago cast is collectively my favorite, but others think that’s absolute blasphemy and the Broadway cast will always be the best. (I want to make it clear that I said collectively. There are individual people I adore in every cast, but as a whole, Chicago takes the cake.) Therefore, this is such a subjective question that it’s literally impossible to answer. There are actors I love in all casts and actors I didn’t like so much, but that’s just me. My suggestion, see both and answer that question for yourself ;) (Or just go to the one closest to you and I’m sure you’ll have a great time regardless.) I know this was such a roundabout way to answer/not answer this, but I genuinely think it’s the only fair way do so.
tl;dr: There are good and bad things about all casts. Go watch them to find out, but come on it’s Hamilton. You’ll love it either way.
What about the And Peggy Tour? Is it even a tour? I, along with the help of one of you lovely readers, answered this question in-depth HERE. If you’re looking for the cast list, you can find it HERE. Basically, yes it’s still considered a tour because that’s just how west coast productions are classified. As of right now, the And Peggy Tour will be in Puerto Rico until the end of January when it will head to San Francisco for a long sit-down. Right now, tickets are on sale through September 2019.

Leafs Kick Off Season with Nail Biter Win
It wasn’t pretty, but they don’t ask how you win.The Leafs earned two big points to start their season against their rival Montreal Canadiens in a game that was a preview of what we should expect for the full 56 game season.
Both teams seemed a little shaky to start things off. A shortened training camp with no preseason will do that, Things started off with good pace with some sloppy plays. Bogosian takes a bad luck penalty when his stick goes between Jesperi Kotkaniemi’s legs and is called for the trip. No harm done on the PK and we move on.
The sloppy play continued when Ilya Mikheyev threw the puck towards the Leafs bench during a line change. Vesey jumps on for Hyman and Hyman plays the puck as he’s stepping off the ice and we get to see what the Leafs penalty kill looks like for a second time. The Habs start buzzing around the Leafs end a bit, a shot goes off the post and Andersen loses the puck. The puck finds it’s way to Nick Suzuki’s stick and puts the wrist shot past Freddie. The first period is the same sort of play - both teams feeling themselves out, trying to push the pace, The Leafs end up with an offensive zone faceoff with just over 4 minutes left in the period. Tavares wins the draw and the puck finds its way to Willy Nylander who absolutely blasts a one timer past Carey Price and we’re all square at 1-1. Fast forward a little bit and the Canadiens end up putting the pedal to the metal a little bit and with less than a minute left in the first they win an offensive zone draw and the puck finds it’s way to Josh Anderson who takes no time to wire a wrist shot right over Andersen’s pad off the post and in. 2-1 Habs.
In the second, Bogosian takes a holding penalty on once again: Jesperi Kotkaniemi. The Leafs PK was just not firing tonight, they gave up two breakaways while shorthanded and Tomas Tatar scores the go ahead goal when he tucks a shot on Andersen’s five hole. I thought this was a stop Andersen should’ve had, his stick just wasn’t tight enough to the ice to stop the shot. 3-1 Canadiens.
10 minutes into the period sparks start to fly when Wayne “Punch Your Head Off” Simmonds dropped the gloves with Ben Chiarot. Simmonds won the fight pretty quick, landing a few good shots on Chiarot. Chiarot went down and Simmonds was ready to throw another shot but let up and instead turned to the Leafs bench to try to send a message that their game was not where it needed to be against their rivals. It seemed to work as the Leafs went on the PP when Kulak cross checked Kerfoot. Between the PP and the momentum from the fight the Leafs PP seemed to buzz around a little bit and started to fire some shots on Price. The rest of the period seemed to be played at a decent pace with nothing too crazy of note happening. With two minute left in the period, Nylander has the puck on the face off dot in the offensive zone. He hesitates a little bit looking to pace before he WIRED a wrist shot past Price. Price had no shot on that one. 3-2 score thanks to Willy Ny the wrist shot guy. Not slowing down, the magic of Mitch Marner was shown a little bit when he fired a great pass to John Tavares in front of the net. The captain quickly tipped the puck past Price with 40 seconds left in the period to tie the game 3-3.
A minute into the third, Suzuki wins a defensive zone draw for the Canadiens and the play ends up in a foot race along the wall between Tavares and Anderson. Tavares didn’t fully commit to taking Anderson out of the play, Anderson finds Suzuki and he tucks the puck past Anderson for the 4-3 go-ahead goal. I thought the Vesey - Tavares - Nylander line was one of our better lines tonight and they got rewarded with a hard working shift and Jimmy Vesey was rewarded. The line just wouldn’t let the Habs get out of their zone and when Nylander gets the puck to the behind/side of the net he finds Vesey wide open in the slot and he puts the wrist shot past Price to tie the game 4-4 and we head into 3 on 3 overtime!
The overtime period felt like an end of season game where the “bonus” point really mattered and both teams had their chances. The play was back and forth until Tavares and Rielly end up on a 2 on 1 rush. The captain puts the puck in a perfect spot and Rielly puts the pass past Price for the overtime winner! The first (of Many) wins for the Leafs this year and a huge two points in a season where every point matters.
I thought William Nylander was the best player on the ice for the Leafs tonight. It seemed like he couldn’t be stopped and he made some really great plays. Those two goals were pure goal scorers goal and were things of beauty.
The Leafs have some work to do but a win is a win and I’ll take them any way i can get ‘em. If this game was any indication of how the season will be played we’re in for a really exciting year. The boys are back on the ice Friday with their provincial rivals Ottawa Senators.

NHL Predictions 2009-10
By and by most indicators duplicate feline a years ago outcomes. The ordinary season brings about changes down the stretch and into the end of the season games as the more physical groups assume responsibility. A year ago I anticipated the Sharks late season fall and the ascent of the Flames. Here is the manner in which the new season will go mơ thy trâu đánh con gì EAST:
1. Washington Capitals - Ovechkin is the best and most decided player in the NHL. The Caps are prepared to take it an indent up.
2. Philadelphia Flyers - If you can't beat um' in the back street, you can't beat em' on the ice. I've generally been a Sabers fan and in this manner detested the Flyers. You just gotta' love these folks. They will be enjoyable to watch and relying upon how tight the calls are this year, they could go the whole distance.
3. Bison Sabers - OK, I'm a homer. In the event that the tight calls go the other way, search for the munchkin advances to do some genuine harm. Ryan Miller and Thomas Vanek have champion seasons.
4. Montreal Canadiens - With the improvement of the Leafs, the Canadiens will feel compelled to play an all the more consistent game. They are strong all finished and just need to recapture their strategic maneuver. They will with Gomez, Gionta, and Cammaleri.
5. Boston Bruins - Great goaltending of Tim Thomas will keep them in it. I think they are misrepresented. A couple of wounds, an absence of scoring, and enormous heads will hold them down.
6. Pittsburgh Penguins - Ton of ability offers path to an absence of heart. Crosby will have a super season. Malkin will waver. Insufficient room in the house for those two. Awful beginning could bring them down.
7. New York Rangers - Like their baseball partner the Yankees, they simply can purchase a title. This year they will be greatly improved however and could astound with their profundity and ability.
8. Toronto Maple Leafs - Yes, it at last occurs. Intense Leafs will take after youthful Flyers. Hockey Night in Canada will be for all intents and purposes intolerable to look as the temporary fad jumpers over promotion the Leafs however they will make the end of the season games.
9. New Jersey Devils - Didn't you notice a little chink in the defensive layer of Martin Brodeur a year ago? Can't hit the expansive side of the animal dwellingplace with the offense.
10. Tampa Bay Lightning - With a little better guarded cast, you can't hold down Vinny and Martin St. Louis for a really long time. They may ascend much higher with a decent beginning.
11. Ottawa Senators - Sorry I simply don't care for these folks. Part's of ability. Grimy players and filthy GM.
12. New York Islanders - I like them. This is the start of the ascent if the Islanders once more. Many misjudged players and Tavares to lead them.
13. Carolina Hurricanes - OK, Eric Staal and Cam Ward are incredible. Nearly as messy as the Senators, the Canes will take a plunge this year. Getting old.
14. Florida Panthers - The apparitions of Ollie and Jay will frequent them. Incredible AHL group.
15. Atlanta Thrashers - Wouldn't it be cool to see Kovalchuck on a decent group? When each ten games they look incredible. Chicken grain for the great cautious groups.
WEST:
1. Detroit Red Wings - I know, I know, not once more. Best oversaw group in hockey just impedes everyone. So gifted and decided at each position. Most groups simply chalk up a misfortune. Search for Zetterberg to fly extremely high this year.
2. Calgary Flames - Finally, Canadian fans have something to cheer about. They are quick, unpleasant, and prepared. Jerome at last has some assistance in a superior safeguard. I picked them to go far a year ago and they will keep on rising.
3. Anaheim Ducks - If they were from NY City or Canada, they would be picked by every one of the sportswriters. Enormous Ducks quack the mouths out of most groups. They will be there toward the end.
4. Chicago Black Hawks - I wish I could pick them first however they are missing something. Perhaps a veteran forward for administration. Patrick Kane has huge stones for a little person and will just improve. Extraordinary all around and hungry.
5. St. Louis Blues - Remember the development years? The Blues were all class. Prepare to have your mind blown. They are once more. Will be most improved group in the NHL.
6. San Jose Sharks - What? The Sharks sixth in the West? I realized they would take a jump a year ago regardless I think they are exaggerated. McLellan terminated by mid-season. Ducks will pound em'.
7. Los Angeles Kings - OOO give me the hostile purple Kings once more. This year they at long last meet up. Huge amounts of scoring and great goaltending puts them on track.
8. Vancouver Canucks - Best goaltender in the class can't spare them from taking a plunge. Tunnels is incredible yet very little regard for the Sedins.
9. Dallas Stars - Chop. Need to get some strength and safeguard. Incredible forward corps and authority. Conflicting.
10. Nashville Predators - Many groups wish they had their safeguard. They could astound if just they'd change their name to the Nashville Cats.
11. Colorado Avalanche - A couple of incredible players. Exceptionally cool garbs. Incredible fans. Insufficient.

New Look Sabres: GM 37 - LA Kings
3-2 Win
There is a two-fold pretext going into this game. The first one was plain and clear Thursday night in Philadelphia: this team is nothing without Jack Eichel. This team with Eichel is a fringe playoff team as we’ve seen this month. This team without Eichel is a team that would struggle to stay out of a relegation zone. It sounds harsh but yet another massacre in Philadelphia, it seems like every other time we go down there is one waiting for us, proves we need at least some kind of upgrade to make this team more than just the Buffalo Jack Eichels. The other piece of pretext to this game was the meaningfulness of the points in the standings. It’s funny to think of any game in December as providing critical points. Big games exist when they have significance with a broad set of fanbases or in the standings. The relative bigness of this particular game against the LA Kings isn’t really about the Kings. They suck ass again. In a league where many tell you not to even look at the standings until after the New Year the Sabres have been in a playoff spot for… weeks? Entering this game the Sabres had dropped three straight after a decent stretch since Thanksgiving where they most recently won three straight against better competition. Over the weekend they claimed an overtime point against the Islanders but got no points on Tuesday against division rival Toronto before getting clobbered in Philadelphia on Thursday. It was so bad I didn’t even waste breath on postgame. The Maple Leafs are one of four teams who are neck and neck with Buffalo. The Sabres were second in an exceptionally weak Atlantic Division at 39 points Thursday. Montreal, Tampa Bay, Toronto and Florida were all at 38 or 37 points. And so you see now how two points against the Flyers would have meant a lot even though the halfway point of the season is still five games away. Those points never came and now all of the aforementioned teams excluding Tampa have passed Buffalo and we’re out of a playoff spot we somehow held onto for a few weeks. No NHL game is easy but now would be a really good time to get a safe win against the Kings.
For the first half of this game there was a lot to be frustrated about. Luckily most of Buffalo was transfixed on the 4:30 Bills game so there was likely only a half-full arena and a handful of us online angry guys to feel that way about it. For the first period and a half this was a shot-for-shot duel with the LA Kings. 5 years ago we might have celebrated that, but these aren’t 2014’s LA Kings. The latent, trash Kings got the lion share of the nice shots on goal in the first period where they outshot Buffalo 10-6. Linus Ullmark stood tall making some pretty grandiose saves, most of which you probably wanted the defense to prevent. After the massacre in Philadelphia its hard to imagine Carter Hutton getting a start not on a back-to-back. Ullmark is THE GUY now and he’s acting like it. One stop I swore was superhuman where the puck was turned over in the Sabres zone in the midst of quite some traffic. I don’t know how he recognized the turnover mistake of his own team for one and secondly I don’t know how he estimated the trajectory of the backhander so quickly as to snap it up like that. Anyway the first period ended with donuts on the board. The second period began with what they had coming. The Kings continued their shot domination for the first half of the middle frame and Adrian Kempe took advantage of Marco Scandella taking a slapshot from the slot and beat Ullmark. For how much better the basement-dwelling Kings played in the first half of this game it could’ve been 3-0 had it not been for Linus Ullmark’s great game. I really do think the team plays better in front of him and this game compared to last game is going to be exhibit A.
The game continued as a Kings shooting gallery until the Sabres really began intercepting pucks and pushing back toward the midpoint of the game. Jack Eichel got a really great chance right in front of Jonathan Quick that just would not go. This game was still one of those where a stray skate could’ve been the difference of the Kings extending their lead. That Vesey line was taking their turn in front of the LA net when a rebound squirted out to Rasmus Ristolainen who buried it before Quick even knew where it was, 1-1. I’ve been informed Quick has not been good at all this season. I hate to see a good American goaltender down like that but it kinda makes sense when you think of how much the Kings dynasty was built on a defense they no longer have. I mean Drew Doughty is still there but if one all-world defenseman made a defense then Rasmus Dahlin should’ve backstopped us to a Cup run last season. For all the bitching and moaning about this game showing we’re not any better than some of the worst teams in the league Jack Eichel didn’t score a goal. None of the players who made October so fun really contributed until the dying minutes of this game. Yesterday afternoon we got the “Black Stallion” Marco Scandella to score a goal. That nickname was the imagination of Dan Dunleavy calling the game and I think I join a choir of folks absolutely detesting it. Call him what you will I guess as long as we can call him gone in July. Scandella received a pretty innocuous pass at the point from Sam Reinhart and put one on net. It went in and the home team had their first lead of the game with a little over three minutes left in the second period. The Kings tried to respond before the middle frame concluded. That sweet Linus Ullmark save I described earlier was a save on Anze Kopitar with mere moments left on the clock. Through forty minutes it was 2-1 Buffalo though.
The Sabres got some decisive powerplays in the third period; none of them increased their lead because this is the Buffalo Sabres we’re talking about, but they got them! They really did get some dingers off the posts and what have you too. It got a little frustrating. Almost as frustrating as this situation with Eichel is. You may wonder: what issue could you have with Eichel after you basically said this team relies entirely on him in the opening? Well you may have heard he missed the bloodbath of a game in Philadelphia. The thing is he took warmups before being announced as out for the game. Speculation circulated about the flu or an accident nobody saw occur on the ice during those warmups. The most detail we got was a lower body injury which was later retracted. Eichel came back like his normal self in this game so I got to believe it was just the shits arriving right after warmups ended. No matter what it was the NHL counted it as the end of his point streak… or did they? The chances tended toward Buffalo as the third period went on and the Captain almost got a couple saucy ones himself. Eventually the Kings pulled Quick for the extra attacker and Eichel got the puck to Reinhart who got it to Victor Olofsson who chipped in an empty-netter. The game broadcast and several social media posts thereafter referred to Eichel continuing his “personal point streak” which is not only something I’ve never heard before its also something that is quantifiably stupid. Then again other posts left the word personal out and said he’s now on an 18-game point streak. I don’t know if we really need to litigate this but that streak was all some of us Sabres fans had back when the going was tough in November so there is certainly a desire to see it continue.
Ithaca, NY’s own Dustin Brown tipped in a quick goal to pull the Kings within one in the last minute of play but ultimately the goal only served to make a few people down in Tompkins county that much happier and this game ended 3-2 Sabres. For a brief few hours while Buffalo was busy cheering the Bills to almost beating the Patriots in Foxboro, the Sabres were back in a playoff spot at second in the division. That Flyers game might prove to cost the Sabres more than just their Thursday night because the Leafs won last night as well and took over that divisional spot. Buffalo is only one point back and could leapfrog both Florida and Toronto Monday night, but both those clubs also play tomorrow night, and everyone wants to go into the Christmas break on a high note. I’d put my money on the Sabres not sitting in a playoff spot come Christmas morning, but I want to hear what you think so like, share and comment on this blog to let me know what you think.
The aforementioned Christmas break also coincides with a roster freeze that is already in effect meaning no moves for Jason Botterill… as if one were imminent. I think the need for a trade for a forward is a near unanimous opinion of the fanbase right now. However I will be a dissenting voice on the guy at the center of the Sabres last big top-six trade Jeff Skinner. The talk of him being upset not playing with Eichel on the top line is the kinda Coach-blaming knee jerk reaction that is so normal for us. It shouldn’t be. We’re trained to chase coaches out of town at this point and I really don’t think we have to right now. Yes, yesterday was another weird defenseman-playing-forward rotation and I too don’t like scratching Colin Miller out of any games but Ralph Krueger’s benefits to this club far outweigh his detriments right now. A lot of it is stuff we only see in streaks here and there, the not-so-sexy stuff like team cohesion and overall competitiveness when playing without the puck. Those are little things that make visible a behind-the-scenes reality of a Coach really revolutionizing this team. By all means take issue with the trash first half of this game and the poor play we still see too often from the Sabres, but don’t look for ways to blame it on the Coach. Midseason thoughts will go up in a couple weeks which will allow plenty of time and space for deeper conversations about the state of this team. For now let’s go wrap up the pre-Christmas schedule in Ottawa tomorrow. Let’s Go Buffalo!
Thanks for Reading.
P.S. December so far is shaping up to be the streaky month. Three wins followed by three losses. The good news is if that trend continues they’ll beat Ottawa tomorrow and split the home and home series with the Bruins after Christmas.

The Glorious Sons Announce Massive 2020 North American Tour in Support of New Album, 'A War On Everything'; Rocking Dallas on February 6th at Canton Hall
Just two days after their massive sold-out hometown stadium show at Kingston’s Richardson Memorial Stadium, JUNO Award winning rockers The Glorious Sons have announced their 2020 “A War On Everything” North American headlining tour produced by Concerts West/AEG Presents. Kicking off in Pennsylvania on January 16, the sweeping 40+ date tour will hit iconic venues across major cities throughout the U.S. and Canada including stops in New York, Los Angeles, Toronto and Vancouver before wrapping in Montreal on April 11. Joining the tour as special guests are Des Rocs (U.S. dates) and Black Pistol Fire (Canadian dates). The tour announcement follows the celebrated release of the band’s brazen and brutally honest new album A War On Everything (9/13 via Black Box/BMG), and marks the group’s highly-anticipated return to Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, where they wrapped the critically acclaimed larger than life “S.O.S.” tour last November. Ticket pre-sales for the 2020 “A War On Everything” tour begin today at 1:00 p.m. local time. Tickets go on sale to the public beginning September 27 at 10:00 a.m. local time.
A daring 14-track collection of stadium-ready, “dirty, sweaty rock” (Alternative Press), rife with devastating moments of vulnerability and searing insight into universal truths about anxiety, sadness and isolation in the 21st century, A War On Everything was produced by Frederik Thaae (Kate Nash, Atlas Genius), and recorded at North of Princess studios in the group’s hometown of Kingston, ON. Billboard hailed the record’s “turbulent guitar licks,” saying, “maybe the self-aware band thinks [rock] is dying, but they might just be resurrecting it.” Stuart Berman for Apple Music said, “‘A War on Everything’ heightens the tension between entertainment and inner torment at the heart of The Glorious Sons' sound.” The record marks the start of a new chapter for a band who earlier this year landed their first Billboard #1 with "S.O.S. (Sawed Off Shotgun)", which held the #1 spot at Active Rock in Canada for 10 consecutive weeks (4 at US Active Rock), spent a record setting 64 weeks on the Canadian Rock Radio Charts while earning CRIA GOLD certification, and is still one of the most spun tracks of 2019 at Rock Radio in North America, firmly planting The Glorious Sons in uncharted territory. Anthrocon 2017 + trip around 3 countries
Anthrocon 2017!! Despite the technical problems and many complaints of the people, it was an amazing experience for me, probably the best AC (for me) until now. And even more for all the experiences I lived after the convention.
I must say that I didn't have high expectations of this Anthrocon, and for months I was more excited about the idea of BLFC and felt that the trip to Pittsburgh was only for tradition more than because I really wanted or I was really excited for another AC, and even came to think that it would no longer be worth going back to plan a new Anthrocon for 2018 (which is still in doubt as I really want to go to new different summer conventions, as Megaplex (plus Disney World) and going to Pittsburgh is a bit expense for me). But this edition of the biggest convention in the world (still, we don't know if in December this title is going to be snatched) made me take again to have a great affection for the Uncle Kage's great event.
There were many complaints about technical aspects, and yes, I was also an attendee affected for those issues, but in the end who make the convention a super cool event are ourselves, not so much the staff or the convention center. (Of course, they must do their part, I'm consious of that). In general I had an incredible time, I went back to see many old friends, I met people who I wanted to meet in person, I made new friends. It would be extremely difficult to mention everyone, surely there would be people who I miss to mention: there were many who made me spend extremely pleasant moments, whether at breakfasts, at dinners; who invite me beers; who meet them at some point and to talk; who join me in my path and helped me to take pictures with my favorite fursuiters; many fursuiters who accepted me taking pictures with them and hugging me; many fursuits and people who were excited to see me and of course, I was glad to take a picture with them or just hugged them. In the artists alley so many people very kind, so many talks, so many commissions that asked me, so many waiting in huge lines that made you lost half of the convention time only to pay a sticker X__X
I was also on the cruise on Thursday, where they took us on a tour around the Pittsburgh rivers in fursuit, there were many photographers and media, one of them interviewed me, ooh nooo, it had never happened to me that I would be interviewed in United States, I had them several times in Mexico but it was the first time I had to do it in English, I got very nervous and I'm not sure if I did it right (surely not).
In this year's ConBook, the drawing of my friend Ed Puma appeared on the cover, while my drawing appeared also printed on page # 4, which also made me very happy.
On Saturday I spent most of the day in fursuit, and surely many noticed that, you could see the panda from the morning in the dealer's den and the artists alley, in the afternoon in the group photo, in the fursuit parade (as always, the best Fursuit parade of the universe, even though the staff of the Anthrocon wanted to ruin it by making us move faster, I ignored them and just enjoyed my moment), in the panels of Youtubers, in the fursuit meet and greet of the roof of the convention center, and even afterwards in the rave. More than 10 hours in fursuit (And I must say I didn't stink, I am very careful with the body odors and constant cleaning of my fursuit)
The raves became super intense, dancing until we were rushed from the convention center, and then to follow the time in the lobby of the hotel. The last day of the convention, where we were gotten out early from the convention center, and were also finishing very early all the events at the Westin, and that there was no longer water or headless lounge (RIP for those who we were fursuiters), and me very sleepy, awake late night but didn't want the night to end. You can even see it in this video: Https://youtu.be/apJdpfXi6sY?t=13m40s
If you want to see all the photos I took of the event, and even a few that shared me, you can do it in this link: Https://www.dropbox.com/sh/q4bq4nirato003t/AABK-FlLn2TsDEppZ1_wEeWza?dl=0 Even in that link are pictures of the subsequent trips that I will tell coming up next.
After Anthrocon, my original idea was to travel to New York City, spend two days in that big city and then return to my Guadalajara (I already had my plane ticket), but what happened was "Kurtt", who convinced me to lengthen the roadtrip still beyond.
We arrived in NYC, it was a nightmare to get a hotel, as it was July 3rd, and there were lots of tourists coming up to watch the fireworks for the 4th of July, which complicated things as far as hotel and parking, but in the end we got. We strolled around the big apple, and on July 4th we saw the fireworks. Okay, now I will mention the names of the people who were with us, at last there are not as many names as could be the mentions at Anthrocon. On the trip I went with Kurtt, Ed Puma and Drew Otter, back in NYC we saw Yoshi Azul, Moof and Zarafa. With the last two mentioned we saw the fireworks, and the next day Zarafa was our tour guide, and took us to quite cool places that I didn't know in Manhattan.
The next day we left NY and went to Boston (only Kurtt, Ed, Drew and me), where we stayed with Leon Skunk, and we saw Tonya Song. We walked around downtown, went to a faraway place just because it was called Deer Island and then we went back to Leon's place where Tonya was also with us. The next day we went to the house of Gale and Strobes, where they welcomed us wonderfully, it was an excellent evening full of good talk and ended in dance.
Madly we launched that night to Canada, crossing through Maine, until we reached Quebec City, where we realized that everyone there spoke French, and even there were people who didn't speak English X__X It's a beautiful city, it seemed that we were no longer in America, but in Europe. I never imagined being there.
The next day we went to Montreal, where we arrived at a comic convention, and we met by coincidence to Noodle dragon, we never imagined that we would know a furry there. We went to a park full of raccoons, and then we saw another furry named Ritch, who was our helpful guide, especially in the language, as indeed there were people who knew nothing of English, only French. We took some pictures at the Montreal Olympic Stadium.
Our next stop was Ottawa, and that day we arrived in Toronto, where we were received by many furries, many of them friends I met at Furnal Equinox and I was very pleased to see again: Lumen, Dat, Arctic, TJ, Zanth and Dumpling. It was also very nice to be back in Toronto, wow that is a very nice city.
After leaving Canada, the first place we visited back in USA was Niagara Falls in NY, and I visited my good friend Matt the tiny deer, it was an express visit as he had to work in the afternoon. That day we had the madness to get to Atlanta but it was not possible, we stopped at a place in West Virginia, in a rest area, to spend the night. The next day before arriving in Atlanta, we arrived in Charlotte to go to the Nascar Museum. Arriving in Atlanta, we saw friends of Kurtt and Ed: Tanner and Jake Foxx, with whom we stayed. But I also met Zilch and Zip, that pair of foxes I so much wanted to meet, they are a lovely guys !!
From there we traveled to the north of Arkansas, in a place near the nothing, in the middle of the forest, where Albi Azul welcomed us, and we were able to meet and play with Asriel, his fox. Albi is a great host, he prepared homemade ice cream, and the next morning took us to a delicious hibachi place. It was a super pleasant moment on the trip, being in the middle of the forest, away from big cities, away from the hustle and bustle. But the next day we had to leave, heading to San Antonio, TX.
In San Antonio we were received by AJ and Frederick, two friends of Kurtt. They were also very good hosts. In that stop in San Antonio was where we waste lots of money, because with so many stores and so many malls, we did shopping, things that we can't find in Mexico for sale, or that are just much cheaper than in our own country.
We went to Monterrey, Mexico. We crossed the border into Laredo. We couldn't see any furry in Monterrey, many of those we knew from that city were not available or were definitely out of town. We had the opportunity to meet a new furry but the plans were hindered and all the plans were improvised at the moment, we walked through Parque Fundidora, a wonderful afternoon with el cerro de la silla so imposing and beautiful. And finally we could eat real Mexican food again. The next morning we arrived in San Luis Potosí, where I decided that it was a good idea to take my bus from there to get back home.
Arriving home I found that I left many pending to do, many unanswered messages (wich I haven't replied all of them, yet), a sad dog that missed me for many days, few dollars in my wallet, but with thousands of experiences which nobody can ever take away. I thank those who have to thank for all these experiences. And I hope that you can live such incredible moments, even more, like these. I thank a lot to the furry fandom because it has been the main engine in which these experiences come true, so many people so cool that we have known that has made us open doors in the world. I really love this fandom.

WEAR YOUR WOUNDS (FT. J. BANNON) ANNOUNCE ‘RUST ON THE GATES OF HEAVEN’
Due out July 12 via Deathwish Inc., watch a music video for the album’s eponymous first single now.
"...an ethereal, dark croon ebbs and flows throughout... with as much in common with Nick Cave as it does Swans, bolstered by what Jacob describes as 'Floyd worship.' The end result is wonderfully deep, and beautifully sinister." - Noisey
Wear Your Wounds was created by Converge founder Jacob Bannon. Initially conceived as a solo project, it evolved into a five-piece band that often works with collaborating musicians. In 2017 Wear Your Wounds released WYW (the debut double album) and Arthritic Heart (a New Noise Magazine single). A live band was then assembled for a number of shows including Roadburn Festival 2017 andDesert Festival UK. Later on that year their Dunedevil (an experimental album) was released; a companion piece to Bannon's abstract art book of the same name. In 2018 Wear Your Wounds released their Live at the BBC 12" LP at Maida Vale Studio (MV4). That year Wear Your Wounds also played select shows on the East Coast and Europe including an appearance at Roadburn Festival 2018, which was also curated by Bannon.
Now, Wear Your Wounds prepare to release Rust on the Gates of Heaven. The release marks the first time the official lineup of the band; Jacob Bannon (Converge), Mike McKenzie (The Red Chord, Stomach Earth, Unraveller, etc), Adam McGrath (Cave In, Nomad Stones, etc), Sean Martin (Twitching Tongues, ex-Hatebreed, ex-Kid Cudi), and Chris Maggio (ex-Trap Them, ex-Sleigh Bells, etc) have properly written and recorded together. It also features musicians Ben Chisholm (Chelsea Wolfe, White Horse) and Gared O’Donnell (Planes Mistaken For Stars, Hawks and Doves) collaborating throughout.
Check out the music video for “Rust on the Gates of Heaven,” directed by Max Moore, now via Revolver Magazine.

CANTLON: (FRI) WOLF PACK LIMP HOME
BY: Gerry Cantlon, Howlings HARTFORD, CT - When last seen, the Hartford Wolf Pack (16-7-2-5) were riding-high on a five-game winning streak, but that came to a crashing halt as the team came off two of their worst performances of the season in Charlotte against the Checkers as part of a three-game road trip. They started off by losing the back-end of a home-and-home with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms last Saturday. “We played good enough in Lehigh Valley, but in Charlotte we weren’t really ready to play in the first period. They really took it to us. We played better later, but too little, too late, to make a difference in the outcome,” remarked Pack head coach Kris Knoblauch who was keeping an even keel about the performance. Charlotte has been like a graveyard for Wolf Pack teams the past few years. They are winless in the Queen city at 0-12-0-0. Besides getting outscored 13-4 over two games, for the first time in the AHL franchises' 1,624 games, as either the Wolf Pack or CT Whale, the team's two goalies were lifted in back-to-back games. Were Igor Shesterkin and Adam Huska the sole reasons for the losses? No, but they had plenty of company. For the first time though the two of them looked mortal between the pipes. Shesterkin, who held the AHL's best Goals-Against-Average entering the two games, is now is fifth at 2.14. He was lifted after surrendering goals after facing 19 shots in the first period alone. Huska was fine in relief with 19 saves on Tuesday night in a 6-3 loss. “To be honest, pulling them was more because of not wanting to leave them in the way the team was playing… not very well in front of them. Igor and Adam have been so good for us all year, and I don’t think there's a coach in the league after thirty games that could say they weren’t at their best. They’ve been exceptional. It was the first two games they haven’t been. We still trust our goaltenders very much,” Knoblauch stated. Then, in a 7-1 thrashing, Huska was pulled after the second period with just 10 saves and a trailing 4-0. Shesterkin fared no better surrendering three more goals. “Honestly, we had a good streak. We won five and now we lost three. Sometimes it happens,” said Phil Di Giuseppe, “Now we have had some success against Providence, hopefully they played Wednesday, and tonight we can take advantage of that." He'll get the call tomorrow against the P-Bruins, who hold first place, two points ahead of Hartford (41-39). They lost to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, 1-0. Knoblauch was self-critical as well stating, “The coaching staff has to get better too, and address things and trends a little earlier.” This was also the first time this season the Wolf Pack looked like the team of the last two years. At times they were undisciplined, disinterested, and not playing as a five-man unit. “We're going to have to play a lot better all throughout the lineup than the last two games. Providence is in first place." The Pack played as if they were already on Christmas break and will be after Saturday’s game. “We're in the middle of (the season) now and everybody else in the league is in the same position. It’s still no excuse for the way we played. Hopefully, we can get things off on the right foot for the New Year. Everybody has got each other’s back and we're looking forward to it. We’ve had a lot of changes lately, but that’s pro hockey these days.” said Di Giuseppe. NOTES: After ten games and no points, the Wolf Pack reassigned Ryan Dmowski (Old Lyme/Gunnery Prep) back to their ECHL affiliate, the Maine Mariners. Jansen Harkins, the son of ex-Hartford Whaler Todd Harkins, has 31 points in 30 games with the Manitoba Moose. He was recalled by the Winnipeg Jets. He was a scratch in Thursday’s game in Winnipeg against Chicago. Scott Morrow (Darien) who plays at Shattuck’s St. Mary’s (MNPREP) has committed to North Dakota (NCHC) for 2021-22. The Canadian-entry for the Christmas-time, European six-team, Spengler Cup Tournament in Davos, Switzerland has some familiar names. The GM is ex-Whaler, Sean Burke. The head coach is former New York Ranger, Craig MacTavish. His assistant coach is ex-Whaler (in spirit only), Paul Coffey. On the ice will be ex-Pack, Adam Tambellini, as well as ex-Sound Tigers, Andrew MacDonald, and Dustin Jeffrey, as well as former Quinnipiac Bobcat, Justin Danforth, and former Ranger Josh Jooris, and ex-Ranger and Sound Tiger, David Desharnais all lacing them up. HC Davos features a trio of ex-Pack players. They're led by captain Andres Ambuhl, Danny Kristo, and Casey Wellman. HC Ocelari Trinec (Czech Republic) has ex-Pack/CT Whale, Tomas Kundratek, David Musil, the nephew of former Whaler and Ranger, Robert (Bobby) Holik, and goalie Nick Malik, the son of ex-Whaler, Beast of New Haven, and Ranger, Marek Malik. TPS Turku (Finland) features as their captain, ex-Pack, and Ranger, Lauri Korpikoski, and from HC Ambri-Piotta (Switzerland), Brian Flynn (Pomfret School). Former UConn Husky, Philip Nyberg, after having contract dissolved by Mora IK (Sweden - SHL) signs for the rest of the season with Lindloven IF (Sweden Division-1). Ex-Sound Tiger goalie, C.J. Motte, goes from HC Innsbruck to Coventry Blaze (England - EIHL). Ex-Sound Tiger, Robert Nilsson officially retires as a result of concussion issues from ZSC Zurich Lions (Switzerland - LNA) and a ceremony will be held January 18th. Ex-Pack, Ryan Haggerty was dealt by the Pittsburgh Penguins to the Florida Panthers for Kevin Roy in a minor league swap as Haggerty heads to the Springfield Thunderbirds and Roy to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Haggerty scored the game winner in his first game a Thunderbird. Springfield also did some additional holiday house cleaning sending Blaine Byron to Ontario for future considerations. One of the few AHL coast-to-coast trades since the Pacific Division was created. After the break, the Wolf Pack play the Bridgeport Sound Tigers who have had two lineup additions. Robert Carpenter, the son of former NHL'er, Bobby Carpenter, and brother to Team USA's forward, Alex Carpenter, has recovered from a preseason injury. Returning from his Islanders imposed exile in Toronto is truculent forward, Josh Ho-Sang. He demanded a trade at the end of training camp and has been working out at the University of Toronto and was shaken the team hasn't traded him. The US WJC camp is in full swing in Plymouth, MI. Leading the charge is goalie and Darien-native, Spencer Knight (Boston College/Florida). He is being joined by fellow former Avon Old Farms Winged Beaver, Trevor Zegras (Boston University/Anaheim). Also on the roster is Christian Krygier (Michigan State Big 10/NY Islanders), the son of former Whaler/Nighthawk/UConn player, Todd Krygier) and K’Andre Miller (Wisconsin Big 10), the Rangers first-round pick (22nd overall) in 2018. Mattias Samuelsson (Western Michigan - NCHC/Buffalo), the son of former Nighthawk, and Ranger, Kjell Samuelsson, Jack Drury (Harvard - ECACHL/Carolina), the son of former Whaler, Ted Drury and the nephew of current Wolf Pack GM, Chris Drury. Shane Pinto (Selects Academy at South Kent Prep/North Dakota - NCHC/Ottawa) and the Islanders sent current Sound Tiger forward, Oliver Wahlstrom over. The USA team is in the Czech Republic and the final team will be announced on Christmas Eve Day. Ironically or not, the Islanders didn’t send Noah Dobson to the Canadian team. Peter Dilaberatore (Quinnipiac University) and Barrett Hayton (Arizona-NHL), the son of former New Haven Nighthawk, Brian Hayton, are with Team Canada. Team Sweden has two Ranger prospects, defenseman Nils Lundkvist, and center Karl Henriksson. The US team will be playing in Group B in Ostrava, Czech Republic and the opening game is against traditional rival, Canada on Boxing Day at 1 PM on the NHL Network. All preliminary and medal games will be shown on the NHL Network. Lastly, sad news during the holiday season. Former Whaler, Scot Kleinendorst, passed away Tuesday from the injuries suffered at a mill plant in his hometown of Grand Rapids, MN. The family took him off life support as a result of the extensive nature of his injuries. Kleinendorst played in the NHL from 1982-90. He appeared in 281 games for the Hartford Whalers, New York Rangers (53 games two goals and 13 points) and the Washington Capitals. His NHL totals were 12 goals, 58 points, and 452 PM. With the Whalers, he played five seasons (210 games) tallying nine goals and 40 points. He played collegiately at Providence College, then in ECAC, but who are now in Hockey East. He and his brother, Kurt, were both drafted by the Rangers in the 1980 NHL Draft out of PC with Scot going in the fifth round (98th overall) and Kurt was taken in the fourth round before (77th overall). Kurt coached in the AHL with Lowell, Binghamton on two different occasions, Iowa and Belleville. He presently coaches the Nuremberg Tigers (Germany-DEL) that features ex-Pack players Chris Summers, and Chris Brown. Kleinendorst after starring at Grand Rapids High School, where he was first-team All-State defenseman in 1977-78 and part of a Minnesota state championship team in 1976. Read the full article
