Awake
Marcus Moreno x f!reader | 6.6k | 18+ | ao3
summary: Marcus is fine. He wakes up, goes to work, goes home, goes to sleep, and then does it all over again, just the same, every day. And he's fine.
And then he meets you.
a/n: this is for @guiltyasdave and @sizzlingcloudmentality's writing through the seasons challenge! you can see my prompt and moodboard here (which I borrowed from for the header). I had the prompt ("to live with the delusion of being found") banging around in my head for days and it just screams Marcus to me. thank you @katareyoudrilling for being a wonderful beta, as always.
tags/warnings: angst, fluff, flirting, meet cute, Missy is a fun teenager, texting, coffee shop, touching, I named Miracle Guy Rob and Missy's mom Melissa, self deprecation (Marcus), shifting POV, kissing, grinding, reader has no description other than being a woman and having a job, no age mentioned but just FYI I was imagining her in her 30s or 40s, first date, coffee, pet names (beautiful, sweetheart), some Spanish (mija, calmate)
...
On Monday, Marcus woke up with his alarm.
Missy had picked it out – it wasn’t one of the sounds that came with his phone. She’d used some app to make it play part of “Takin’ Care of Business,” but only on weekdays. He didn’t know how to change it. He probably could have looked it up but he wouldn’t, anyway – she’d said it made her think of him going to work every day. So now it made him think of her, and at least he had that thought, if nothing else, to warm him as he got out of bed.
(His mood never quite matched the song’s, but at least he had a goal to work towards. Right?)
So he woke up when the piano came in, and sighed as he swung his legs off the bed. He sat there for a moment, letting Randy Bachman sing to him about getting to work by nine.
He sighed again.
He turned off the alarm, finally, and stood. He did not look in the mirror on top of his dresser as he walked past it into the bathroom.
Marcus showered and dressed on autopilot, mind almost blank. As always he just picked the next slacks, jacket, and shirt, whatever was at the front of his closet. He’d done this so many times, on so many mornings, it barely required him to be awake.
When the coffee maker beeped, he found himself standing fully dressed in his kitchen without really noticing that he’d walked there. He poured his coffee – just a splash of cream – and sat at the kitchen table to turn on the news. As he let the sound of yet another day wash over him, he texted Missy, smiling when she responded almost instantly.
Marcus 08:27 AM: Good morning, mija
Missy 08:28 AM: dad 08:28 AM: why did I sign up for a 9am dad 08:29 AM: i’m dying
Marcus 8:30 AM: if I’m remembering correctly, you had “big gym plans”
Missy 8:32 AM: never listen to me about gym plans again 8:33 AM: what was I thinkinggggg 😩
Marcus let his amusement at Missy’s texts buoy him to the sink and then out to his car, feeling a bit lighter.
Like his morning routine at home, he barely noticed the drive to work. It was the same as always, and in 17 minutes he was getting out of his parked car at HQ. He felt his shoulders stiffen as he stepped through the double doors into the lobby.
On his floor, Marcus walked to the kitchen first to drop off his lunch. He nodded at the same people he walked past every morning. Then he sat at his desk, answered his emails, and attended some meetings about upcoming missions for the current active teams. On his way to the break room for lunch he nodded at the same people again. After lunch he attended a few more meetings, dodged Rob in the hallway when he asked about Marcus’ weekend, and answered more emails.
At 5pm he stood up from his desk and walked to his car, nodding to the same people again on his way out.
Marcus drove home on autopilot, and 17 minutes later he found himself walking into his kitchen from the garage. He sighed as he opened the fridge, and decided dinner would be leftovers. Again.
Since it was Monday, and Missy wouldn’t be calling, he sat on the couch and turned the TV to the Food Network. He let the soothing sounds of low stakes cooking problems take over and crowd himself out of his own head.
10pm found Marcus in bed, setting his alarm. He got comfortable, stretched out his back, which always seemed to be aching these days, and pointedly did not think about the fact that he couldn’t think of a single thing he’d done at work that day.
As he fell asleep, he thought idly that he was glad his time as an active member of the Heroics had taught him how to fall asleep anywhere, if nothing else.
…
On Tuesday, Marcus woke up with his alarm.
His morning unfolded almost identically to Monday’s, aside from the fact that Missy wasn’t awake yet to respond to his good morning text – her Tuesday classes started at 11:30 and she usually took full advantage of the chance to sleep in.
As he sat and sipped his coffee, something on the news briefly caught his interest, until he realized it was something that had already crossed his desk the week before.
He sighed.
Marcus drove to work – 17 minutes – and went through the motions of another day at the office.
He ate lunch with Rob in his office, which had bigger windows than Marcus’s, and got his regular updates on how Rob’s family was doing (Peter had gone off to college, too, and they commiserated about their kids abandoning them).
Rob, as always, asked Marcus how he was doing with a knowing look that Marcus, as always, pointedly ignored.
“I’m fine,” he said, as always, stabbing a piece of chicken in his tupperware dish with a bit too much force. He was always fine. What else would he be?
Rob eyed him. “Are you?”
Marcus chewed and did not sigh. “Yes, I am,” he promised.
Rob squinted, and Marcus squinted back. That made his friend laugh, at least, and they changed the subject.
Marcus left the office a bit quicker that night and 17 minutes later he walked in the house just as his phone rang.
“Hi, mija,” he said, smiling as he picked up his daughter’s regular Tuesday phone call. She had a long walk home from her last class and usually called him to pass the time.
He let her voice wash over him, soothing the tension that had crept into his shoulders when Rob had squinted at him over lunch. Missy’s updates on her classes and her friends carried him through reheating his leftovers and collapsing on the couch. By the time she had to go he was more relaxed than he’d been in days. (Since her last call, probably, he did not let himself think, and made sure to tell her he loved her before she hung up.)
With a bit more help from the Food Network, Marcus successfully distracted himself until it was time for bed.
…
On Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, Marcus woke up with his alarm.
He got dressed, went to work, nodded at his coworkers, answered emails, ate lunch, nodded a bit more, and went home.
And through all of it, he was fine.
He was fine.
…
Marcus spent Saturday at home doing chores, and Sunday at the farmer’s market and the grocery store. Missy called once, and Rob texted him to invite him to Corina’s birthday dinner in two weeks. Marcus added it to his calendar and took care not to notice how every other weekend was empty.
…
On Monday, Marcus woke up with his alarm.
He moved automatically from his bed to his bathroom and then to his closet, showering and dressing as usual.
He walked downstairs, thinking idly about the meetings he had scheduled in the morning, and the training he needed to plan for the newest crop of Heroics.
Lost in thought, Marcus stood holding an empty mug in front of his coffee maker for almost 5 minutes before he realized it hadn’t beeped.
He blinked and looked down, confused.
There was no coffee in the pot. He realized he hadn’t smelled the coffee as he usually did while he was getting ready. He looked it over and saw that the setting was right, but there was no coffee.
He frowned.
Poking at the coffee maker revealed that the screen wouldn’t come on, even though it was plugged in. A few more moments of tinkering and he knew – it was broken.
Marcus sighed and checked the time – 8:10 AM. He texted Missy.
Marcus 08:10 AM: Mija, I am sorry to report that after a long and fruitful life, our beloved Mr. Coffee has percolated his last brew. May he rest in peace 🪦
Missy 08:12 AM: nooo!! not Mr. Coffee 💔 08:13 AM: your best friend, taken from us too soon 08:13 AM: how will you go on without him
He smiled. He knew she’d be able to cheer him up.
Marcus 08:15 AM: with difficulty, but I will persevere
Missy 08:17 AM: wait! 08:17 AM: dad you should go to the Bean Box!! I know you never actually did when I told you to 08:18 AM: it’s on your way to work dad you have to go 08:18 AM: it’s the best the coffee is so good 08:19 AM: daaaaaad
Marcus 08:20 AM: ok ok, calmate 08:20 AM: I’m going
Missy 08:22 AM: good! and get a scone to eat in my honor 08:23 AM: I miss those scones
15 minutes later Marcus pulled up in front of the small facade of the Bean Box and couldn’t help but smile. It was exactly the type of place Missy would like – cozy and colorful, with lots of tables stuffed inside and flower boxes overflowing along the bottom of each of the large windows in the front.
When he stepped inside, the smell of freshly roasted coffee filled his nose and he almost stopped in the doorway. It smelled good.
He joined the long line for coffee and scrolled idly on his phone, checking the news, a bit oblivious to his surroundings.
So he was surprised when his phone almost flew out of his hand a few moments later. Someone knocked into him from behind and he stumbled forward. He made some sort of noise as he juggled his phone between his hands, just barely catching it before it could fall.
“Good catch,” an admiring voice said from behind him. He turned as they continued, “Wait, I mean, I’m so sorry about that! Shit.”
Marcus turned around fully and almost froze. A woman was standing there with her hands out, as if she had just caught her balance, grimacing at him. A very beautiful woman, he couldn’t help but notice. He blinked, trying to clear his vision, but she was just as beautiful as she’d been a moment before. His eyes darted across her features but he didn’t let himself sweep his gaze over the rest of her. He didn’t want to be a creep.
Suddenly it felt much warmer in the coffee shop, and he was very aware of how close they were standing to each other.
“Shit,” she repeated. “Sorry, again. I tripped,” she pointed at the leg of a chair that was almost in the aisle, “and ended up sort of falling on you. But I’m glad you caught your phone! Nice catch, really.” She looked down and he did, too. She’d dropped her bag and some of her belongings had spilled out. She sighed. “Shit.”
Marcus was crouching before he’d even thought about bending down. “It’s alright,” he said, smiling a bit. “No harm done. Sorry about your stuff.” he gathered some papers and held them out to her. She had followed him down, kneeling as she gathered her things back into her bag.
She took them and said, “wait, you don’t have to do that! I already almost knocked you over, you don't have to help me.”
He shook his head. “Like I said, it’s fine.” He realized she had all of her things but they were both still crouching. He stood and offered her his hand to help her up.
She slid her hand into his easily and his breath caught as she said, “well, thank you, and sorry, again.” Her hand was warm and he ignored the way his fingers tingled at her touch.
She was smiling, then, and Marcus couldn’t help but notice that her smile was very pretty. So pretty he had to drag his eyes away from it, trying not to stare.
He couldn’t remember the last time he’d felt like this. There was warmth in his chest and a floaty feeling in his stomach and the tips of his fingers were still tingling where they’d touched hers. It felt almost foreign, it had been so long. He felt lightheaded.
“Please don’t worry about it.” He looked around and realized the line had moved a little, so he took a step forward to move with it. She did the same. “I’m Marcus, by the way.”
She gave her name and he smiled. It suited her.
“Can I buy you an apology coffee?” she asked, looking hopeful. “I still feel bad.”
He shook his head, laughing. “No, it’s really ok. I mean it.”
“Hmm,” she hummed, looking suddenly thoughtful and amused. “I’ve never had anyone turn down a free cup of coffee from here before. You must be new.”
Marcus was smiling. He realized he might have been smiling at her the whole time, and felt a bit of wonder at that. “It’s that obvious? I am. New, I mean. My daughter has been telling me to come here for months but this is my first time.”
Her eyebrows raised and he hoped he was imagining the way her expression closed off a bit. But in the next moment he wondered at himself for even thinking of it. Don’t be a fool, he warned himself, even as he felt the urge to explain. She’s just nice, she’s not interested.
“She has good taste,” she said lightly. “What took you so long, then?”
Marcus sighed and gave in to the urge. “It’s just me at home, with her away at college, and I’ve just been torturing my ancient coffee maker by keeping it alive. But it took its last dying breaths this morning and I was forced to venture out for coffee, instead.”
She nodded solemnly. “Rest in peace, ancient coffee maker.” The jokingly serious look on her face reminded him of the way Missy would tease him and he couldn’t help but smile. Again.
Suddenly Marcus realized they’d made it to the front of the line. He wasn’t ready to order, or to stop talking to this beautiful woman who had almost knocked him over.
“I guess I’m up,” he said, as the person in front of him started to pay.
He tried not to watch as she bit her lip, hesitating for just a moment. “Well, Marcus,” she said, voice light again. “I’m here most mornings, so you’ll have to come back and let me know if you liked it.”
Marcus felt his cheeks warm and he smiled. “Ok then. I’ll try.”
For the rest of the day, he found he couldn’t quite wipe that smile off of his face, not even when Rob teased him about it.
…
On Tuesday, Marcus woke up with his alarm, already smiling.
He glanced at himself in the mirror as he got dressed, and was stunned to see his face looking so relaxed for once.
Is that all it takes? He wondered, amused at his own expense. A bit of flirting and a pretty smile? But it wasn’t just about her pretty smile, he knew that. He’d felt something the day before, something he hadn’t felt in years.
Something he wanted to feel again.
He’d told Missy he liked her coffee shop the night before and promised he’d be back (and that he’d get a scone, this time). So he hurried downstairs and out to his car as soon as he was dressed, ready to find out if he would run into her again.
When he pulled up outside The Bean Box, he took a deep, slow breath. Sure, he was a teensy bit invested. Something about her had kindled a tiny fire in his chest. But he didn’t want to get his hopes too high. He shouldn’t. Right?
But as he stepped inside, he realized he needn’t have worried. She was standing by the door, looking just as stunning as the day before. And she was watching the people coming in.
When she saw him, she grinned. “I knew you’d be back! It’s good, right?”
Marcus nodded as felt a smile stretch across his face. “It is. And I promised my daughter I’d get a scone this time.”
Her eyes lit up. He couldn’t look away. “Oh, you definitely need to get a scone. They’re amazing.”
She stepped into line next to him and he noticed they both kept their bodies turned towards each other as they talked.
“You said she’s in college, right?” She tilted her head at him. Marcus tried not to trace the line of her neck with his eyes. “Is she enjoying it?”
He nodded. “She’s a freshman, but she settled in quick. She’s so independent, I knew she would.” He looked down, smiling as he thought about his daughter, and told her about Missy’s major. “She blows me away, honestly.”
When he looked back up he found her smiling softly at him. “Sounds like she’s got a great dad.”
Marcus smiled and ducked his head again. “I miss her, but it helps that she’s doing so well. And we talk a lot. More than I expected, really. Figured she’d be too busy.”
He felt something warm on his arm and realized she had reached out and lightly rested her hand on his forearm. He blinked and felt a flush rise in his cheeks and start to travel down his neck. He suddenly wished he wasn’t wearing a sweater over his dress shirt, wished he could feel her hand on his skin again.
“I’d say that means you’re definitely a great dad.” She was still smiling. “Take it from me, and my memories of college. I definitely didn’t talk to my parents that much.” She laughed and Marcus felt his breath catch at the way it lit up her features. Her hand was still on his arm and he fought the urge to cover it with his own, to keep it there.
He shook himself and nodded. “It’s been just us for so long. We are pretty close.”
She squeezed his arm lightly and he felt a shiver run up his spine. When her hand fell away, he missed it immediately. “Has it been tough? Adjusting without her.”
Marcus sighed and nodded. “My house is so empty now.” He laughed, ruefully. “I swear, it echoes in there. Never expected I would miss all the noise.”
She nodded. “I’ve got nieces and nephews, and they’re so loud, but I always miss it when they’re gone. It’s not the same, but I get that.”
As the line moved forward, she told him more about her sister’s kids and their antics. Marcus found himself smiling and laughing more than he had outside of a call with Missy in… months. Longer? He didn’t want to think about it, not when he was caught up in feeling like this instead.
By the time they reached the front of the line, he was only wishing they had more time.
She hesitated when it was almost her turn to step up to the counter. “Did you get your coffee maker fixed?”
He shook his head. “No, I don’t think it’s fixable, and honestly it deserves to rest. It lived a long life.”
She laughed and then bit her lip. It drew his eyes like a magnet.
“So, will I see you again tomorrow?” She looked hopeful and he wanted so badly to read into it.
“I think so,” he agreed, smiling a bit shyly.
She grinned at him. “Good.”
He carried the memory of that grin with him through the rest of the day, until Rob managed to weasel the whole story out of him over lunch. He told his friend about the way they’d met and how she’d been standing inside the door that morning.
But somehow telling it to someone else had Marcus second guessing the whole thing.
“I’m probably just imagining it.” He was standing with Rob in the hall by his office, coming back from lunch, wishing it had never come up.
“Well, I think you should go back and you should talk to her again.” Rob furrowed his brow at Marcus and poked him in the arm.
Marcus frowned and brushed his hand away. “Rob, she’s probably not interested.”
His friend frowned back, exaggerating the expression until it was comical. “Sounded like she was. Why wouldn’t she be?”
Marcus shook his head and grimaced. “Why would she be? I’m a sad, boring, almost 50-year old man who does nothing but go to work and wait for his daughter to call him. I’m not delusional, ok, I know no one wants to deal with that. Especially not someone like her.”
Rob sighed. He reached out and grabbed Marcus’ shoulders and squeezed. “Marcus. Listen to me. You are a smart, funny, and caring man who loves his daughter and his friends. You deserve more, ok? Tell me you know that.”
Marcus shook his head. “Know what?”
“That it’s not a delusion to think you deserve to be loved.”
“Loved?” Marcus shook his head and tried not to scoff. “We’re just talking about someone I met at a coffee shop.” He ignored that his heart had started to beat just a bit faster when he thought about her, just like it had in The Bean Box when she’d touched his arm. And when she’d smiled at him, looking so hopeful that she’d see him again.
Rob raised his eyebrows. “Someone you can’t stop thinking about, and who flirted with you and got you out of your shell. Right?”
Marcus sighed.
“Marcus,” Rob said, voice careful, and Marcus knew what was coming next. “Is this about Melissa? I–”
He shook his head, interrupting. “No, I mean, not really. You know I’ve gone on dates, well, a while ago. It’s just…” He closed his eyes. “It’s been so long, and since Missy left for college, I’ve just been…” he trailed off, looking for the right word. “Asleep, I think. It’s so quiet. Every day is the same.”
Marcus opened his eyes to find his best friend frowning at him.
“I get it. But it sounds like this shook you out of that routine, right?” Marcus sighed. “Marcus, look, just– promise me you won’t just dismiss it, ok? Give it a chance.”
He wanted to scrub his hands over his eyes but Rob was still holding his shoulders. “How do I do that?”
Rob shrugged. “You’ve already run into her twice. Just keep going back. See what happens.”
Marcus closed his eyes and finally broke out of his friend’s hold. He leaned against the wall behind him. “Ok. Ok, I can do that.”
Rob let out a long breath, clearly relieved. “Good. And just let yourself enjoy it, ok? I know you know how to flirt. Even if you’re rusty.”
Marcus rolled his eyes and shoved Rob back a bit. “Yeah, yeah. I thought you wanted me to go back, huh? Stop making me nervous.”
Rob waved his hand, laughing. “You’re already nervous. But I’ve seen you flirt, man, even if it’s been a minute. I believe in you.”
At least someone did.
…
On Wednesday, Marcus woke up with his alarm, and immediately felt nervous.
He paused in front of his closet, actually looking at his clothes for the first time in a long time. Should I wear this shirt? Or a sweater? He hesitated, cursed himself for wasting time, and then grabbed the next shirt and slacks, as always.
He walked straight past his kitchen on his way to his car, only glancing at the clock. 08:14 AM.
Missy 08:17 AM: are you going to the Bean Box again 08:18 AM: have I created a monster
Marcus 08:27 AM: just pulled up 08:27 AM: I’ll eat a scone for you
Missy 08:28 AM: mail me one 🙏
Marcus 08:29 AM: counter offer: I’ll buy you one when you’re home next
Missy 08:29 AM: deal
Marcus was smiling at his phone as he opened the door into the coffee shop, belatedly looking up at his surroundings after he stepped inside. He didn’t see her and started to frown.
“Let me guess – your daughter?”
He turned to find her behind him, leaning against the high table by the door. She gestured at his phone with a smile. He nodded. “How’d you know?”
She stepped closer and looked down at his phone. “You were smiling at it as you walked in.”
He couldn’t help but smile again. “She asked me to mail her a scone.”
She laughed and Marcus watched the way it changed her face. Beautiful.
“Would it survive?” She grinned and fell into step next to him in the line for coffee.
He shook his head. “No, but I promised I’d buy her one next time she’s home.”
“When’s that?”
“Spring break.”
She frowned sympathetically. “So far away! That’s too bad.”
Marcus sighed, agreeing. “It is, but it helps knowing that she’s having such a great time.”
She looked thoughtful and nudged Marcus with her shoulder. He felt himself flush. “You know, you could look up coffee shops near her campus and buy her a gift card or something. Somewhere similar. Probably better than mailing a scone.”
He blinked, surprised. That was a good idea. “I…” he trailed off. “That’s–”
“Sorry,” she interrupted, wincing. “I didn’t mean–”
“No,” he said, not wanting her to apologize. He touched his fingertips lightly to her arm – she was wearing short sleeves, and the touch of his skin against hers deepened his flush. His fingertips started to tingle and he felt his heart start to beat faster in his chest. “I was going to say, that’s a great idea. Thank you.”
She grinned at him and leaned forward, which brought her arm more in contact with his hand. Suddenly he found himself with a light hold on her forearm, gripping it gently. He stroked his thumb across her skin before he even realized what he was doing.
“I was worried I’d overstepped,” she said without moving away from him.
Marcus shook his head, momentarily speechless at the feel of her skin and the knowledge that she hadn’t pulled away.
“No,” he murmured. “I’m definitely going to do that. She’ll love it.”
For a moment he didn’t move, and neither did she. He noticed the line moving out of the corner of his eye but didn’t do anything about it until the person behind them in line cleared their throat.
Startled, he stepped forward, losing contact with her arm. She was still smiling at him as she turned.
“You know,” he said, wishing he could reach out to touch her hand. “I never asked what brings you here every day.”
She hummed. “Well the coffee, of course,” she winked at him, “but I also work from here most mornings. I like the atmosphere, and all of my meetings are in the afternoon.”
He nodded, thinking that sounded nice. “So if I were to keep up my new coffee habit, you’d be here in the mornings?”
She turned towards him then and he leaned closer.
“Yep,” she agreed. “Most days. Maybe you could stick around sometime.” She raised her eyebrows but he sighed.
“I can’t,” he said, looking down. “Have to be in the office.”
Her face fell and he felt something twist inside his chest. She opened her mouth to reply but he interrupted. He didn’t want her to feel like that, not when he was feeling like this.
“Maybe we could,” his voice came out a bit strangled and he cleared his throat. “Maybe we could have dinner sometime instead?”
Marcus watched as her face transformed from disappointed to hopeful. He smiled.
“I’d like that, Marcus.”
…
Marcus couldn’t remember the last time he’d been on a date, it had been so long.
(That was a lie – he just didn’t want to remember, it had gone so badly. But it had been years – he was pretty sure Missy had been in middle school at the time.)
He spent way too long staring at his clothes and trying to ignore Rob’s encouraging texts. He settled on dark jeans and a sweater. When his phone pinged again, he finally looked down to check it.
Rob (5:37 PM): Corina says wear the dark green sweater (5:38 PM): I don’t even know which sweater she’s talking about but I assume you do
Marcus looked down and laughed. He had, in fact, chosen the dark green sweater.
Marcus (5:41 PM): tell her I am and that I had the same idea
Rob (5:43 PM): she says good choice and have a great time (5:44 PM): I mean, me too
Marcus smiled as he walked downstairs. He was glad for the support, but he knew he looked good in this sweater. It was one of the few purchases he’d made in recent years just because he liked the way it looked.
He got in the car and headed towards the restaurant where they’d agreed to meet. It was a short drive but he could feel himself getting more and more nervous the closer he got.
After he parked, he stopped and took a deep breath. He thought of Melissa, as he’d done quite a bit since he met the beautiful woman in the coffee shop. It had been so long since they’d lost her, and he’d had quite a bit of time to think about dating again. This wasn’t even his first try.
But it always made him a little wistful. He took a moment to think about what she’d say – probably something about how his arms looked in the sweater. The thought made him laugh and shake his head. He got out of the car.
She was waiting by the door, and she was stunning.
…
You tried not to fidget as you stood by the door to the restaurant. It was a place your coworker had recommended, but you’d never been. Your nerves had driven you to arrive ten minutes early and now you had nothing to do but wait, and think of the gorgeous man you were waiting for.
And he really was gorgeous. You’d known that from the moment he’d turned around after you’d almost knocked him over in your favorite coffee shop – a memory that made your cheeks burn, even now, you’d been so embarrassed. He was tall with a jawline that made you want to bite, shoulders that were so broad you needed to get your hands on them, and warm brown eyes that had so much feeling in them, it took your breath away.
And then he’d smiled at you, and helped you with your things. And flirted. And then he’d come back, and kept coming back. For coffee, of course, but also to talk to you.
Every time he walked into The Bean Box, he looked around, looking for you. And when he saw you, his face lit up. You couldn’t help but smile just thinking about it.
How is he single? It was a question you’d been wondering about all week. You figured it was probably because he was a single dad, and his daughter had just gone to college. But at the same time you couldn’t comprehend that no one had locked this gorgeous, thoughtful, funny, caring man down. Their loss, you thought, and smiled again.
At that moment you looked up, and caught sight of Marcus getting out of his car. Your smile stretched into a grin.
“Hello there,” he said, smiling as he walked closer to you. “You look stunning this evening.”
You looked him over and tilted your head. “So do you, in that sweater.”
He blushed and you bit your lip. It was so charming when he did that.
“Ready for dinner?” he asked, and when you nodded he turned to guide you inside. You felt his hand come up to rest on your lower back. It was big and warm, just as warm as it had been when he’d held your arm. You shivered.
The restaurant had a table waiting for you, and you turned to look at him with a raised eyebrow. He smiled and shrugged. “I called two days ago when you said yes to dinner.”
The table they led you to was cozy – tucked in a corner with a window, a romantic candle flickering in the center. When you sat, you realized a couple of plants hid you from the rest of the room.
“Cozy,” you said, smiling.
Marcus nodded. “My best friend has brought his wife here, says it’s fantastic. And romantic.”
“Hmm,” you hummed, reaching out to nudge his hand where it rested on the table. “Romantic, huh?”
Marcus looked suddenly unsure, which made you slide your hand over his and squeeze. “Is that alright?”
You nodded. “It’s more than alright, Marcus. It’s perfect.”
He smiled again, and the two of you settled into an easy conversation about your weeks, about his daughter, and about your work. It flowed just as comfortably as it had at the coffee shop and you felt the warmth that Marcus had kindled inside of you from the first moment start to burn again. It carried you through dinner.
You watched his face as he talked and couldn’t help but marvel again at how handsome he was. He seemed to notice your focus and smirked a bit. “What?”
“Hmm?” you blinked, eyes snapping back to meet his.
He reached across the table and laced his fingers with yours. “I was just wondering what you were thinking.”
Your face warmed but you wanted to tell him, anyway. “Just got distracted by how handsome you are.”
Marcus blushed again and you grinned. “Really?” he looked doubtful, and you couldn’t have that.
“Oh yes,” you said, leaning towards him. “Not for the first time. You know how hard it was not to stare, in the coffee shop?”
He laughed and picked up your hand. He leaned forward, too, and pressed a soft kiss to your knuckles. You bit your lip at the sensation of his lips against your skin. “Me?” he asked, smiling against your knuckles. “What about you? You’re so beautiful I couldn’t take my eyes off you. And then you smiled, and well.” He kissed your knuckles again. “Still can’t look away from you, even if I wanted to.”
For a moment you just stared at each other, smiling.
“Marcus,” you started, lifting your fingers to press against his jaw. He held on, but let you turn your hand until you could cup his cheek. “Do you want to come home with me?”
He blinked, clearly surprised. “I–” He swallowed, looking nervous. “It’s been a while, since…” he trailed off. “It’s been a while,” he repeated, smiling shyly.
You traced his cheekbone with your thumb. “There’s no rush,” you promised. You leaned a little closer and he leaned in to meet you. “I just want you to kiss me, Marcus,” you murmured, and watched his pleasure at that idea take over his handsome face. “And then we can just see where it takes us. No rush, no pressure.”
His eyes darkened as he smiled, a new sort of smile you hadn’t seen before. It made you press your thighs together under the table. “No rush,” he repeated, “but I’ve been wanting to kiss you, too,” he said, voice low and warm. He moved to stand. “Let’s go.”
…
Marcus stepped up close behind you at your door, and you smiled at the feeling of his warm body almost touching yours. His hand came to rest on your waist and you shivered.
You finally managed to unlock the door and he followed you in.
So quickly it made your head spin, Marcus turned and pressed you up against the inside of your door. you gasped. His chest was just as broad and firm as you’d thought, and he held you easily in place, right where he wanted you. You marveled at his sudden confidence – it looked very good on him.
“Hi there, beautiful,” he murmured, looking down at your lips. “Can I kiss you?”
“Please,” you breathed. Before you could say anything else, he leaned in and pressed his lips to yours.
Marcus’s lips were warm, and soft, and his kiss was slow and gentle. It seeped into you and you felt his warmth light you up from the inside.
Your hands found his hips and you tugged him forwards until your bodies were touching from shoulder to knee. He moaned lightly, into your mouth, and suddenly his kiss wasn’t so gentle anymore.
It was fierce. Your head was spinning as you opened your mouth to him and felt his tongue stroke along yours.
His thigh came to rest between yours and you shivered.
“Marcus,” you sighed, breaking the kiss. He pressed soft kisses along your cheek and jaw before he let his head drop to your shoulder.
“You feel perfect against me, you know that?” His voice sounded almost hoarse, and you wrapped your arms around his waist. His sweater was soft and it made you smile. His right hand was flat against the door by your head but his left came up to cup your jaw and neck. “Shit, sweetheart. You’re perfect.”
You pressed a kiss to the side of his head. “I’m not perfect,” you laughed.
He shook his head against your shoulder. “Feels pretty perfect.” He thrust his hips forward and pressed his thigh against you more firmly. You moaned.
You felt Marcus huff a small laugh against your shoulder and pulled back to eye him. “What?”
He was smiling. “It’s nothing.” He shook his head as you raised your eyebrow, still confused. “I was just thinking how lucky I am that my coffee machine broke that day. Never would have met you, otherwise.”
You felt your face relax as you smiled back and leaned in for another soft kiss. “Sounded like it was on its last legs, from what you told me.”
He laughed again, and you grinned. “It was. RIP, Mr. Coffee, and thank you for your timely death.”
You hummed. “I like to think I would have found you, anyway. Maybe on another day at the Box.”
Marcus pressed forward and buried his face in your neck again. You felt his soft kisses working their way down to your shoulder and shivered. “Yeah? How?”
You shrugged and he nipped at your shoulder. “Just feels right, you know? I felt it the moment I met you.” You leaned your head to the side and he took advantage, worrying a mark at the spot where it met your shoulder. It made you squirm and his grip on you tightened. “Like I’d found something I’d been looking for, and didn’t even know it.”
He lifted his head again and the look in his eyes made your breath catch in your throat. “I know exactly what you mean, sweetheart. You woke me up when you almost knocked me over.” He grinned, teasing you.
“What do you mean?” You lifted one of your hands and let your fingers trail through his hair.
He leaned into it, smiling. “I’ve been… asleep. Living the same day, over and over again. And then I met you, and it’s like I’m awake for the first time since Missy left. Before that, probably.” He leaned forward and kissed you, gently. “You woke me up,” he repeated. You smiled, surprised and pleased that you’d had such an effect on him, too.
Marcus kissed you again, and for a while after that there wasn’t a lot of talking. You could only manage his name, and please, and don’t stop.
He didn’t.

i wanna dance with somebody
melissa schemmenti x f!reader
summary: during karaoke night with the abbott crew, tensions rise to a new height between you and the red head.
tags: s4e17, alcohol consumption, karaoke, mutual pining, pet names (hon, sweetheart), kissing, let’s pretend that the whole thing with captain robinson never happened LOL
word count: 1.3k
author’s note: thank u sm for reading! •ᴗ•
The second you walk into the bar for karaoke night, you pull Jacob and Janine aside.
“You guys, I don’t think I can do this.” You’re panicking. It’s engulfing you, making your heart pound heavily against your ribcage. “I can’t—I have to go home.”
They both shake their heads. “Come on, just stay!” Janine exclaims, bumping your shoulder. “It’s gonna be fine. And you have to sing the song that you chose.”
“Janine’s right. Besides, we both know you’re going to crush it,” Jacob says.
The thought of doing that in front of not only everyone you work with, but especially Melissa Schemmenti, has you wishing that you could crawl into a hole in the ground and hide.
“Fine,” you sigh, trying to ignore the feeling of dread settling like a weight on your shoulders. “But I’m only doing it because I love you two.”
Janine opens her mouth to respond, but something catches her eye. When you see who she’s looking at, your stomach erupts with butterflies. It’s Melissa and Barbara. You can’t help but notice that the red head looks absolutely incredible tonight. Your eyes follow her as they walk in the other direction, like a moth to a flame.
“They’re here already, that’s great,” Janine says. The conversation takes a welcome turn and Jacob becomes the next topic of discussion, along with a guy that he has his eyes on. “Oh! Why don’t you go say hi? He’s a little cutie patootie,” she smiles.
Jacob’s face scrunches up. “Cuties are everywhere. It’s gonna take a lot more than being the cutest cutie to ever patoot to turn the head of Jacob Hill.”
“Okay,” Janine responds, her gaze turning into one of playful suspicion. “Then why is your neck in owl mode right now?”
“That’s because I’m—Because I’m checking out—”
You wiggle your eyebrows. “Oh, I see. Go do your thing, Hill.”
He rolls his eyes in mock exasperation and makes his way over to the bar to escape further teasing. You turn to Janine. “Hey, I’m gonna grab a drink and then head over to see the rest of the group, wanna come with?”
“That’s alright, I actually see Erika walking in now… with Simon?”
“Good luck,” you say before leaving her to deal with whatever kind of mess that will be.
When you walk in after having ordered a beer, Barbara, Melissa, Jacob, and Mr. Johnson are already there. Your breath hitches in your throat at the sight of Mel. You aren’t sure how long your heart will be able to take being in the same room with her while she looks like that.
They all smile when you approach them. “Hey, hon,” Mel nudges your shoulder. “You ready to get up there and sing for us?”
“Not until I’ve had a few drinks,” you mumble, cheeks growing warm as you duck your head.
She snorts. “You and me both.”
“So, who’s singing first?” you ask.
“We are!”
The group turns to look as Erika and Simon walk in, Janine following behind them. The couple goes up to the stage and puts their song on. When the singing starts, everybody cringes except for Janine, who’s dancing along in the front row.
Barbara looks exasperated. “How are they still attracted to one other after hearing each other sing? If Gerald even burps off key, I’m not looking at him for a week.”
“Hey Mr. Johnson! All of these songs are in Korean,” Mel complains, and when you lean over her shoulder you find that she is, in fact, correct.
“I know that! I’m BTS army,” he replies.
“What’re you gonna sing?” you ask her, shifting away from her and instantly missing the warmth she radiates.
She grins at you, and the way her eyes sparkle makes your stomach flip. “That is a question for the me that is living three drinks in the future, sweetheart.”
“I will get us some new drinks!” Jacob exclaims, jumping up from his seat.
You continue to cringe at Erika and Simon’s singing and laugh at the way Janine records them on her phone like she’s at the concert of a famous pop star. By the time their duet finally ends and Barbara has finished as well, your breath has started to come out in quick gasps and your palms have turned sweaty. You keep wiping them off on your jeans, but to no avail.
“You okay?” Mel asks as she stumbles over to you. “You look a little nauseous.”
“I…” you trail off, your heartbeat thundering in your ears. “Take me out of the queue, Mel. I can’t, I—I’m too nervous.”
“C’mon, you’ll do great! And if it makes you feel better you can keep your eyes on me the whole time, alright?”
You gulp. “Okay,” you breathe out shakily.
As you walk up to the screen, microphone in hand, you attempt to steel your nerves even though you know it’s useless. When the first notes of “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” by Whitney Houston start to play you lock eyes with Melissa, trying to use the other’s cheers as a confidence booster. By the time it’s over, it feels like everything has become muffled, like you’re experiencing everything from underwater. Your coworkers are praising your singing, but all you can focus on is the way Melissa is looking at you. The smile that she had previously worn has been wiped from her face, her eyes are filled with something you can’t decipher and her cheeks have turned red.
A lump forms in your throat and you shake your head. “Excuse me, sorry, I—I have to go to the bathroom,” you manage to squeak out, squeezing yourself between Janine and Barbar in order to make room for an exit.
You rush through the bar and make your way to the bathroom, letting your head fall into your hands once you’ve found yourself inside an empty stall. Tears fill your eyes as you think of your stupidity. What must Mel be thinking right now? She probably hates you. The thought makes your shoulders heave with silent sobs.
When you hear the door open, you freeze, feeling like a deer caught in headlights. Your breath catches at the sound of Melissa saying your name. She’s not slurring her words like she was ten minutes ago. No, now she sounds completely sober.
“Are you okay?”
Those three words make you let out a watery laugh. “I’m fine.”
“You don’t sound fine to me,” she says quietly.
“Please leave me alone, Mel,” you beg her. “I can’t do this with you. Not right now. Not like this.”
“Do what?”
You sigh and open the stall door, focusing your gaze on the tiled floor beneath your shoes. “I saw the way you were looking at me, after. You… God, you must hate me right now.”
Melissa takes a step closer to you. “Kid, is that really what you think?”
Your head snaps up. “What?” you breathe out.
“I don’t hate you,” she huffs out a laugh and shakes her head, reaching up to brush a strand of hair away from your face.
This can’t be happening. You think that this must be a dream, that you’ll wake up and realize none of this was real. But the heat you feel from the press of her palm against your cheek says otherwise.
“Mel…”
Her lips are soft when they press against yours. Your heart races at the gentle way she kisses you, taking her time and savoring the moment, as if she wants to commit it to memory. The world around you ceases to exist and it’s just the two of you. It feels like you were meant to be in each other’s arms, the way puzzle pieces are meant to fit together. You’re both panting when she pulls away and leans her forehead against yours.
“Wow,” you mumble. It’s all you can think to say.
Mel chuckles, a twinkle in her eyes. “That good, huh?” You groan, your face feeling like it’s on fire. “Hey, I’m only teasing, hon. Whaddaya say we head back out there? Maybe we could duet Poker Face,” she grins.
“Melissa!”

Crash
Summary: An accident pulls you and Melissa further into each other’s orbit.
Chapter: 1/4
Melissa passed the crash on her way to school. By then, road cleanup services were removing shattered glass and twisted hunks of metal from the street. As traffic slowed and she maneuvered around the remains of the accident, she saw a bike that looked just like yours being loaded onto a tow truck. A sick feeling washed over her. She floored it the last few blocks of her commute, tires squealing as she turned into the parking lot of Abbott Elementary.
Classes hadn’t officially started back yet. Today was a designated teacher planning day at the end of winter break. Most of the staff would trickle in later, enjoying the relaxed pace of a morning with no students. But Melissa had left the house early. She wanted to grab a cup of coffee, gab with Barbara, ease into the new year. And alright, yeah, maybe she was also hoping to see you, swap a few family holiday horror stories (“trauma” as you preferred to call it), and make fun of whatever godawful healthy thing you brought in for breakfast. She didn’t usually trust school shrinks—any shrinks for that matter—but everybody knew she had a soft spot for you.
Melissa scanned the parking lot anxiously, praying to see your motorcycle tucked safely into its usual spot. You had been so protective of that stupid bike when you first got hired, she almost wrote you off as a ginzaloon gear-head. But once you realized how gah gah the kids went over it, you started parking right next to the playground—even occasionally caving to the demands of her excited second graders, revving the engine during recess as they cheered you on.
She had rolled her eyes at the time, but she didn’t mind the theatrics. She also didn’t mind the sight of your long legs straddling that leather seat. Had even indulged in a brief fantasy of what it would feel like to join you there, slipping her arms around your waist, nuzzling her face into the middle of your shoulders. That was before this morning, before she’d seen the mangled leftovers in the road. Before she decided she hated motorcycles.
Melissa locked her car and hustled into the school, past your ominously empty parking spot. As the school psychologist, you worked in a private office near the front of the building. It even had an en-suite bathroom, a fact which caught you major shit with the other faculty. Especially from Melissa, who had given you endless grief at the start of your first semester.
She pulled out her cell phone, trying not to panic as she made a beeline for your office. A dozen terrible images flashed through her mind. You crumpled on the side of the road; you being lifted into an ambulance; you lifeless on a cold slab in some distant part of the city. Tears pricked the corners of her eyes.
The redhead rounded the corner at breakneck speed in her high-heels, starting to dial your number with shaky hands. But the door to your office was slightly ajar and a dim light was spilling out into the hallway. She breathed an instant sigh of relief, calling your name as she booted her way into the room. “Jesus Christ, you almost gave me a heart attack—“
Melissa froze in her tracks. A bloody white t-shirt had been discarded on the coffee table, and your helmet sat on the little sofa beside your desk. Its visor was shattered and there were long, ugly scratches on the side. “Melissa?” Your voice sounded strange and faint from inside the bathroom.
She dropped her bags and sprang toward the door, jiggling the handle. “Open this door right now or I swear to god I’ll break it down.”
She heard the familiar huff of your laugh, cut short by a grunt of pain that made her heart clench. “Gimme a sec,” you said softly.
“Right. Now.” Patience had never been one of her virtues.
She shifted back and forth, willed herself to be calm. There was some shuffling, a few more agonizing seconds, and finally the click of the lock. Melissa pushed the door open carefully and you stepped back until your hips hit the sink.
Her hands were on you in an instant, insistent but soft, surveying the damage. You gripped the edge of the porcelain for support, blinking hard through an unpleasant wave of dizziness.
“You should see the other guy,” you said, hoping to ease the tension rolling off the other woman in waves. She ignored you, gently running her hands over your body as she made a thorough inventory of every bump, bruise, and bloody scrape. You swallowed thickly, unsure what to say. Finding yourself half-naked in front of Melissa Schemmenti had not been on this morning’s bingo card. Your heart hammered in your chest.
“I’ve been trying to put on a clean shirt for the past 10 minutes,” you explained lamely, gesturing to the oversized Abbott Elementary Field Day tee folded on the vanity. “But I’m moving a little slow.”
That was an understatement, especially now that the adrenaline was starting to wear off. The EMTs had diagnosed you with one or two cracked ribs, some gnarly abrasions, and plenty of bruising where your bike had slammed into the median. But mostly they had diagnosed you as lucky. Very, very lucky.
“What’s broken?” Her tone was clipped, still tight with fear.
“Nothing.”
She gave you a “cut-the-bullshit” look and you folded instantly.
“Maybe some cracked ribs,” you amended, trying to make this sound as breezy as possible. “It’s ok, really. It looks worse than it is.”
You sucked in a shallow breath as her fingers ghosted over the bandages on your side. Green eyes flashed up at you in outrage.
“It looks worse than it is?” she repeated softly. You shivered as she rested her hand on your hip. “Well, it looks pretty fucking bad. It looks like that tonto bike almost got you killed.”
You swallowed nervously, caught off guard by the absolute iciness of her voice. “It wasn’t my fault,” you tried to explain. “Actually, it was—“
“I don’t want to hear it!”
You flinched as she practically spat the words at you, splotches of red rising in the ivory column of her throat. Her legendary temper was something you’d seen in action plenty of times. But this went beyond angry.
“There’s no excuse for putting yourself in danger, capisce? It’s unacceptable to me!” She was shouting by now, eyes brimming, chest heaving.
You placed a tentative hand on her shoulder but she shrugged it off and turned away, pinching the bridge of her nose. This was a gesture you’d seen her make only a handful of times—during the always-tense active shooter drills and, on one frightening occasion, when they’d briefly lost track of a student during a field trip. Seeing it now, and being the cause of it, made you feel miserable.
Melissa had barreled into your life about a year ago when you first started working at Abbott. You liked her immediately. Leather pants, mischievous smirk, loud as hell. She was all rough edges and no apologies. More than anything, she was complicated. Guarded but generous, tough but tender. A dozen fiery contradictions that made your heart race.
She teased you from the first moment she laid eyes on you—for being the new kid on the block, for being a “touchy-feely” therapist, for being a millennial. Rather than making you feel ostracized, the attention lit you up. At first you’d worked your ass off just to impress her, to earn her respect. Then you saw what a dedicated teacher she was. You started seeking her out for advice about some of the more troubled kids in your care, going for drinks with her on Fridays, getting her to open up to you. By the time she realized what was happening, you’d slipped straight past her defenses.
“Sorry,” Melissa said gruffly, wiping at her eye makeup. “I shouldn’t’a yelled.”
“I’m sorry, too,” you said, shifting off the sink and limping toward her. “Why don’t you head down to the teacher’s lounge and get a cup of coffee? I can clean up here and meet you in a bit, you don’t have to deal with all this.”
She looked up at you defiantly. For the first time, she noticed a cut near your hairline. There were small butterfly stitches pinching the skin together. All the fight went out of her at once.
“You think a little blood is gonna scare off a Schemmenti?” She reached up and cupped your jawline. Tender.
“I ain’t lettin’ you out of my sight,” Melissa added with a growl. Tough.
She took a moment to drink in the full miracle of you, alive and mostly in one piece. And what a piece it was. Her gaze drifted down to your sports bra, your low-slung riding pants, the band of your boxer-briefs just visible on your waist. Melissa shook her head, withdrawing her hand.
“Need some help gettin’ dressed?”
You blinked, refocusing on her with considerable effort.
“Bet you say that to all the girls,” you said.
Again you felt a little ripple of shyness, exposed and disheveled in front of Melissa who looked good enough to eat—as always. Thick red hair cascading over her shoulders, clothes that hugged her figure in all the right places, gold necklaces with pendants of the saints cradled in the valley of her creamy cleavage. She smirked, unfolding the fresh t-shirt and giving you an appreciative once-over.
“You been working out?” she asked.
You chuckled. “Glad someone finally noticed.”
Melissa pursed her full lips and tilted her head to the side. “Not bad.”
You knew this was just a game to her. She was a flirt by nature and she loved to make you squirm, make you blush. Still, your stomach twisted pleasantly at the compliment.
“Don’t get me wrong,” she continued, noting your obviously pleased expression. “It’s a little dramatic as far as cries for attention go.”
“What do you mean?” you asked as Melissa guided your head carefully through the neck of the shirt, tucking a few flyaway strands of hair back into place. You shivered at the featherlight feel of her fingertips around the shell of your ear.
“Playin’ evil knievel,” she clarified. “Just for an excuse to take your top off in front of me.”
“Look who’s talking!” you fired back. “For all I know, you hired that guy to run me off the road so you could get me alone in a state of undress.”
Melissa, who had been grinning at you from under her long eyelashes and fussing with the hem of your shirt, stilled. The smile slid off her face.
“What’d ya say?”
You frowned, backpedaling. “Sorry, bad joke—“
“No, not that part.” She waved her hand, gold bangles clattering. “The part about someone ran ya off the road? On purpose?”
You nodded your head.
Her voice dipped back into a decidedly frosty register. “And you’re just now tellin’ me this?”
“Well, I tried to mention it a second ago but then there was all the yelling,” you explained. “And you know how I feel about yelling.”
Melissa rolled her eyes. “You feel that it ain’t productive,” she said, applying heavy air quotes around the last word.
“But I appreciate that it’s a cultural norm in many families,” you said. “I know Italian-American households—“
“Jesus fucking Christ!” she exploded. “Someone tried to fucking kill you! Do you appreciate that?”
You winced at the volume of the outburst, headache lurking in the base of your skull. “Yeah, I reported it to the cops who came to the scene, okay? They’re looking for the guy.“
Melissa placed a red lacquered fingernail under your chin.
“You’re never riding that death trap again, you hear me, kid?”
Her green eyes, challenging and possessive, bored into yours. You wondered what would happen if you defied her, told her no, refused outright. The only problem was…you so desperately wanted to give her exactly what she wanted. Not just today, but every day. Trying to please Melissa Schemmenti had become a kind of obsession, a thrill you chased at your own risk.
“Well you don’t have to worry,” you said, mouth suddenly dry. “The bike is totaled.”
She gripped your chin, intent on eliciting a promise. “I mean it.”
A shiver went through you at her low, commanding tone.
“Ok, ok,” you relented. “I’ll be a good girl, mommy.”
It was supposed to be a joke but the words came out as a desperate whine. You felt a flush of color rising in your cheeks as Melissa quirked an eyebrow at you—half scandalized, half delighted. Just as she opened her mouth to say something, the intercom crackled to life. The sudden noise made you both spring apart.
“All faculty please report to the assembly hall in 15 minutes.”
You hissed at the sudden movement, curling over slightly. Melissa’s hands shot out to steady you.
“You alright?” she asked. All traces of teasing laughter had vanished from her face. “What am I, an idiota? Of course you’re not alright. I should drive ya home!”
“No,” you said, waving the suggestion off wearily. “I don’t wanna be by myself all day. I’ll go crazy.”
“Look at youse,” she argued, concern clouding her eyes. “You can barely stand upright. Your helmet looks like it was in a blender, for chrissakes. You came this close to…to—“
She made a small choked noise, unable to finish the sentence. Her hand flew up to her mouth and she squeezed her eyes shut, clearly trying to block out some unwanted mental image. You intertwined your fingers with hers carefully, sweetly, and brought her hand away from her face.
“Nothing happened,” you said evenly. “I’m fine. You’re fine. We’re fine.”
“Don’t use your therapy voice on me,” she warned, dabbing at her eyes again. She looked down at your hands loosely joined together and brushed a finger over the back of your knuckles. When she spoke she sounded uncertain, none of her usual cocksure confidence.
“You swear you’re alright to stay for the day? You won’t…make yourself worse?”
“I’m fine,” you repeated. “Just hurts when I…”
“Move? Breathe? Blink?” she guessed, tone sarcastic once more. “Am I gettin’ warmer?”
You winked. “You’re red hot.”
A small smile lifted the corners of her mouth. “And don’t you forget it, baby.”
Melissa considered you for a moment. She didn’t like the way the skin around your eyes was pinched, or the protective way you held yourself. But she also didn’t like the idea of you being on your own all day. Better to keep you close.
“Alright, alright,” she said. “You can stay, but on one condition—you don’t overdo it.”
You rolled your eyes. “We work in an elementary school, not the ThunderDome.”
“No jokes,” she insisted. “I mean it, say you swear.
It was a rare display of vulnerability from Melissa, who walked through life making demands rather than requests. You schooled your face into a serious expression. Looping your little finger around hers, you brought your fist to your mouth.
“I pinky promise,” you said. “Seal it with a kiss?”
Her eyes flickered down to your lips and lingered for a fraction of a second too long. Even a year into this dangerous dance with Melissa, you weren’t quite sure where the line was, or what would happen if (when?) you found it, crossed it.
“Millennials,” she said, but her voice was husky. “What’s next, gonna ask me to join your polycule?”
Slowly, you both leaned in. You were close enough to smell her shampoo and the bright citrusy lotion she used on her face. It made you swoon. Her eyes closed as you both planted chaste kisses on your fists, faces only inches apart.
The tacky sound of Melissa’s lip gloss making contact with the inside of her own hand sent an unexpected jolt of arousal right to the pit of your stomach. Suddenly, you found yourself lost in a little fantasy, wondering what it would be like to pull her close, to drag your fingers through her hair, to feel the inside of her soft mouth with your tongue. A familiar and ferocious longing—one that you worked very hard to neutralize during working hours—seized you, painful and roaring and undeniable. A longing for more of Melissa, for whatever she would give you.
The other woman cleared her throat suddenly, breaking the spell.
“You ready, hon?” She was gazing at you cautiously, like you might break apart. You shook your head, hoping you didn’t look as strung out as you felt.
“Sorry,” you said. “Let’s head down to the auditorium.”
She smirked, looping an arm around your waist and helping you out of the bathroom. “I’ll say this for ya,” she said, flicking the lights out and closing the door behind her. “You sure know how to start the new year with a bang.”

Overheated
Summary: sometimes you faint. a certain someone is always there to catch you.
WC: ~2.3k
“Melissa, I’m fine,” you grumble as you roll out of bed that day. “Just PMS.”
“And you know how that shit knocks you out,” your wife mutters, although she does allow you to get up. She knows you’ve already used your sick days earlier in the year when you caught the flu.
“Well, it can’t today,” you grunt and groan as you change into your work clothes. “I can’t afford to not get paid, and I don’t want Mr. J as my sub again.”
“I told you, we can survive without one day of your pay if you really feel as shitty as I think you do,” Melissa tells you as she snakes her arms around your waist and presses a kiss to your temple.
You turn slightly in her arms to kiss her softly. “I know, but I really don’t need Mr. J teaching my kids that the moon landing was fake.”
“You know my thoughts on that conspiracy theory,” the redhead chuckles softly as she lets you go. When you grimace in pain, she mumbles to herself, “Can’t forget the heating pad and Midol today.”
“And Excedrin,” you whine.
“Hun, if your head is pounding too,” Melissa looks to you with sympathy.
You stand strong though. “I’m going. I’ll just teach with the lights off and from my desk today.”
“Stubborn as a Schemmenti,” your wife rolls her eyes. “I swear.”
“I am a Schemmenti now,” you quip with a smirk before you feel a shoot pain that causes you to wince.
“And I am so thankful for that,” Melissa promises you as she kisses your head again. With that, the two of you head down the steps for breakfast.
Your breakfast is, while painful, a wonderfully quiet and warm haze. Your wife all but forces you to sit at the table while she prepares the coffee and meal, along with handing you the hot water bottle for you to hold to your abdomen.
As you leave for work, you would venture to say that you feel slightly better than you did when you first woke up. Still, you know you probably shouldn’t push yourself too hard. You vow to yourself (and your fiercely protective spouse) that you’ll do everything you can to teach from your chair today.
For whatever reason, your students are completely out of hand today in every single way. From the second they step into your classroom, you can tell it’s going to be a terrible day- a day where no matter how much you want to resign yourself to sitting in your chair, you simply can’t. You find yourself hovering over your students no matter what their assignment is, pacing the aisles that you’ve created in your classroom. It’s terrible- completely and utterly horrid. You can’t sit with your heating pad, you didn’t even bring a hot water bottle, your head has started to pound again with the class’s volume. It’s absurd.
When lunch time comes around for your students, you practically drag them down- hopeful for a full lunch period of peace and quiet in your classroom; you’ve already decided that you aren’t making it to the staff lounge today. Instead you’ll take your wife’s teasing at the fact that you are so unwell that you couldn’t even fathom coming to have lunch with her.
But of course, because as the universe decides, you don’t get to treat yourself to a quiet lunch. No, instead, you’re running around like an idiot trying to make sure that you’re students all have lunch, and when you think you’ll be able to go for the last ten minutes to eat your lunch in silence, you’re pulled into an issue surrounding your student who hasn’t had lunch money for the past two weeks (a problem unknown to you).
You go in circles with Shanae for a few minutes before you finally roll your eyes and fork over the money in order to get him a lunch and placate the irritable lunch lady.
“Coulda done that in the first place,” she grumbles as she snatches the money from your hand and begins to count it.
At this point, you only have about five minutes left of your lunch time. There’s no use in going to back to your classroom- not when you would just have to turn right back around. So instead, you sit in the hallway for the last few minutes before leading them back down to your classroom.
You think to yourself that you’ll just eat while your kids have their special, only to realize that you indeed do not have a special. You lost the only time to yourself today. You sigh as you instruct your students to get out a book for five minutes while you collect yourself again.
Hastily, you reach for your phone, hoping to convince your wife to bring you your meal from the staffroom. Upon the device lighting up, you see quite a few concerned messages from Melissa.
You coming down for lunch?
Hun?
I’m coming to your room.
Did you leave early?
And then a few minutes later, the last text comes in. Saw you in the cafeteria. Love you.
Sorry, you respond. Had an issue with Taijon’s lunch and left my phone in the classroom. Do you think you have a few minutes to bring me my lunch?
I can’t, your wife texts. I don’t have prep today- with the gym teacher out. I’m sorry hun. Are you okay? I can have Barb head down during her prep?
No, no, don’t bother her. I’ll be fine.
Are you fine?
I will be, you send before setting your phone down and starting class again.
It turns out, as luck would have it, that you are indeed not fine. Despite the Diet Coke that you put into your purse this morning for an extra jolt of caffeine, your head is still pounding, you’re absolutely exhausted, and your cramps are only getting worse. Whether they’re getting worse because your period is incoming or if it’s because you haven’t eaten anything other than the few bites of breakfast you could manage because of your nausea, who can say.
Your wife sees how pale and slightly green you look while you’re dismissing your students. She knows that tonight is going to be an early night, one with a heating pad pressed against your abdomen, and in turn, hers because you’ll be laying on top of her.
“How’re you feeling?” she still asks you as she makes her way over.
“Fine,” you grumble. “Just want to get home.”
“As soon as all of the kids are gone, we can sneak out. Yeah?” You can only nod.
It’s a few minutes later that all of your kids have left the school grounds, and you sigh in slight discomfort as you make your way back into the school. You’re starting to feel warmer and warmer, and the redhead has an arm around your waist the entire walk down to your classroom, where she gathers your things for you and slings them over her shoulder. And then the two of you are making your way down to her classroom. And while you really did think you were fine- that you just had to make it home before collapsing onto the couch and staying there until it was time to retire for bed- but it turns out you aren’t. You start to stumble just slightly as a wave of dizziness hits you to accompany the hot flash you seem to be in the middle of.
“Hun?” Melissa’s eyes quickly dart to you as she feels just the slightest shift in weight.
You’re able to catch yourself on her doorframe. “I’m good. Just a little-”
And then you go down. Melissa’s one arm isn’t strong enough to hold you up as you faint in her arm. To her credit though, your wife does try to grab you with her other hand. Unfortunately, she’s not quick enough, and her engagement ring manages to catch on the skin of your cheek as she flounders to reach for you and cuts you.
“Fuck!” your wife yells out loud enough to attract the attention of the teachers who have also come inside. Barbara is the first one to run to Melissa’s room- only to see you on the floor with a bloody cheek that is now spilling onto the carpet.
“Oh dear God!” the kindergarten teacher sputters as she kneels down beside you and the redhead. “What happened?”
“I- I don’t know,” Melissa mutters as she lays you down on your back. “She hasn’t been feeling well, but I-”
You open your eyes groggily, only to groan at the florescent lights hitting you. You screw them shut again.
“Mi amore,” your wife mumbles as she presses a tissue to your cheek. Then she turns to look at Barbara. “Can you grab me her bottle of water?”
No sooner is your water bottle straw being brought to your lips as Melissa props you up, and you take a sip quickly. And then you’re trying to sit up on your own and pull the tissue catching your blood from your face. Strong hands just keep you on the ground though.
“Lis, I’m perfectly-”
“Did you want to finish that thought?” the redhead interrupts you. “Did you want to finish blaming that you’re perfectly fine? Or are you going to faint again?”
You jut out your bottom lip as you succeed in pulling the tissue away from you cheek. “Be nice to me,” you pout. “I’m injured, and not feeling well.”
Green eyes are rolled with such love. “Oh, so now you admit it? There’s blood on my floor.”
“I’ll clean it up.” You go to move, but once again, you’re glued to the woman holding you in her arms.
“Like hell you will,” Melissa mumbles as she presses a kiss to your unmarked cheek. “What you will be doing is laying on the floor for a few minutes while I clean it up, and then we’re going home.”
“Dear, why did you faint?” Barbara asks as she switches places with the redhead. “Did you eat today?”
You hum softly as you take another sip of water. “I had a few bites of breakfast this morning, but that’s all I could manage.”
“No wonder you passed out. Why didn’t you eat lunch?”
You shrug.
“Or ask one of us to bring it to you?”
Again, you shrug. “Didn’t want to be a bother.”
“Next time,” both older women grumble. “Be a smaller bother than fainting after school.”
“Noted.”
It’s only a few minutes later that you’re feeling well enough to sit up on your own. And when you go to stand, you find that you’re instead being swept off your feet and into the arms of your wife.
“You’re not fainting again,” Melissa tells you sternly. She whisks you out of the classroom and in the direction of your cars, leaving Barbara to follow along with all of your belongings.
“Guys,” you grumble, although you do wrap your arms around Melissa’s neck and lean into her slightly. “I’m fine.”
“Fine my ass,” Melissa huffs as she sets you down in the passenger seat. She turns to the kindergarten teacher and takes both of your belongs before sighing. “Thanks for the help, Barb.”
“Anything for family,” the woman smiles sweetly, although then she turns to you with a stern look. “I do hope that you won’t be making a habit of this though.”
You turn red under Barbara’s steely gaze. “I won’t.”
Since that first incident, you’ve been a lot better about taking care of yourself- although you do have to admit that sometimes you’re only remembering to take care of yourself because of your wonderful wife (and Barbara, at times). You don’t end up fainting at school again- thank goodness.
Well, that is until you’re attempting to hide the fact that you’re pregnant. You and your wife had only recently discovered that you were with child.
It’s May- an unusually hot month that you’re sitting in a school without air conditioning. You can feel the flush in your cheeks as you’re sitting in the staff room with your coworkers, your wife’s hand resting warmly on your thigh.
“Off,” you mumble as you practically throw her hand off of you and begin to fan yourself with your hand.
The redhead looks at you, clearly confused, but then she sees the red in your cheeks, and she knows you’re going through a hot flash- one of the few symptoms that you’ve had of this pregnancy so far.
“Are you-” and then you go down.
Melissa, who had dealt with this a few times (the first time being when you had passed out and she forced you to take a test), moves in a calm and purposeful manner. She has the lollipop to help with the nausea that is bound to overtake you, your water bottle, and then she’s down by your side quickly.
“She’s eating!” Barbara shouts in disbelief. “How could she faint?!”
When you come to a few seconds later, you let out a heavy sigh. “I did it again, didn’t I?”
“If you knew you were getting overheated, you should’ve asked for an ice pack like you do at home,” you wife tuts.
“Sorry,” you mumble as you take a few sips of water.
“This isn’t good for you or the baby,” Melissa sighs, entirely forgetting where she’s at in the moment. The only thing she cares about is you.
“The what?!” Jacob practically shouts, being the first one to hear this news and let it sink in.
“You’re with child?!” Barbara cries not a moment later.
You bite your lip and look to your wife, who is about as red as her hair. “Uhm… surprise?”

Hii! I just want to say, I really enjoy your style of writing!!
And also perhaps request :)
I’ve been thinking about the Party ep from S3. Maybe reader attends with Melissa, and ends up having to take care of a drunk Mel, could be fluffy or smutty whichever hehe.
I am thinking though established relationship, either wife or girlfriend :))
Hopefully you like this concept and can put your own twist on it!
Thank you 🥰
Hello! I can’t believe I’ve gotten 3 prompts for this specific episode and I love all the different ideas! Here’s your request! Not edited in the slightest and I hope you like it!
My Lovely Fiancé
Warnings: smut, mommy kink, breast kink, strap on
Words: 3.2k
“So tonight, I’m your protector? Making sure you don’t do anything stupid while drunk.” You ask her while you sit on her desk and she nods.
“You know I can do crazy things when I’m drunk.”
“Like propose to me?” You ask and she smiles.
“That was only stupid because I wanted to ask you the right way.”
“And you did, and now we're getting married next summer.”
“Who knew that my miracle would be a woman.” Melissa tells you and you wrap your arms around her. She gets in between your legs and kisses you.
“And who knew that Melissa Schemmenti would be soft when in love.”
“Zip it you.” She says and then kisses you again.
“Lovebirds, I’m closing the school in 15 minutes.” Mr Johnson says and you pull away from each other.
“We should go, we gotta get ready.” You tell her and you both walk out of the school and to Melissa’s car.
You both get home and change into your outfits for Janine’s party.
“Barb wants to get there an hour early as we know Janine will need help.” Melissa tells you and you nod.
“Well you can go early but I’ll be there a little late.” You tell her and she tilts her head at you.
“And why are you going to be late?”
“I have to go pick up my outfit from the tailor, remember? It’s been ready for 2 days but I haven’t been able to pick it up yet.”
“Ok, I have to go, Barb is almost here to pick me up.” She says after checking her phone. “She was going to drive us but I guess I’ll meet you there.” She says and gives you a kiss.
“I’ll see you there, I love you.” You tell her.
“I love you too.” She says and then you both go downstairs. You head to you and Melissa’s car just as Barb pulls up.
“Aren’t you coming to the party dear?” Barb asks as Melissa walks to the car.
“I gotta go get my outfit from the tailors but I’ll be there as soon as I can.” You tell her. “Keep an eye on my wild fiance until I get there.” You tell her and she nods.
“You know I can hear you.” Melissa complains and you smile.
“I know.” You say and then get in the car and drive to get your outfit.
You pull up to the party about 30 minutes late and knock on the door to see Mr. Johnson blocking it.
“Mr. Johnson let me in.” You tell him.
“Do I know you?” He asks.
“Do you want me to punch you in the face? Melissa taught me how to do it properly.” You tell him and then he moves out of the way. “Thank you.” You walk in as the party looks to be in full swing and you look around for Melissa or even Barb. You run into Janine who looks to be stressed out. “Hey Janine.”
“Hey, Y/n.”
“Something wrong?”
“Everything is wrong, nothing is going right.” She says and you look at her confused.
“Alright, I’ll leave you alone to whatever crisis is happening with you, do you know where Melissa is?” You ask her.
“She’s in the middle of the dance floor with Barb.” She tells you and you nod.
“Thanks, your party looks great.” You tell her and then walk to the dancefloor. You see Melissa and Barb dancing and you go to walk up to them. “Melissa!” You yell over the music and she turns to look at you.
“Heeeyyy! You made it!” She slurs out and gives you a dramatic hug.
“Holy crap, how drunk are you?”
“I’m not drunk, just happy that you’re here.” She says happily and you smile at her.
“You’re clearly drunk…and apparently so is Barb.” You add as you look to see Barb dancing without shoes on.
“Dance with me, my lovely wife.” She says and grabs both your hands. “I can’t wait to permanently make you my lovely wife. Let’s get married right now!” She says and you widen your eyes.
“No, I’m not marrying you when you’re drunk.” You tell her and she pouts.
“I’m not drunk on alcohol though, I’m drunk in love with you.” She says very close to your face and you smell the alcohol on her breath.
“How about I get us both drinks?” You offer and walk to the kitchen.
“I’m too sober for this.” You say and roll your eyes. “Here Melissa, your favourite beer.” You tell her and hand it to her.
“I have the best fiance in the world!” She shouts out and takes a sip.
You and Melissa start dancing with each other and you keep having to stabilise her as her coordination isn’t the best when drunk. Then the lights go out and the music stops playing and you hear a lot of ‘boos’ from everyone.
“Y/n?” You hear Melissa ask and you turn on your phone flashlight.
“I’m right here Mel.” You say with a smile and she giggles.
“It’s like we’re in an eclipse.” She whispers and you laugh.
“Ya it does.” You tell her and you mess up her hair a bit and she gives you a glare. She then leans forward and captures your lips with hers. Melissa puts her hands in your hair while you wrap your arms around her neck.
“Ah! I’m blinded by the light!” You hear Barb say and pull away. You quickly realise your phone flashlight was pointed right at her eyes.
“Sorry Barb.” You tell her.
The lights suddenly come back on and the dj gets the music ready and they start the music again.
“Come on Y/n, let’s dance!” She says and starts dancing. She then suddenly pulls you in closer to her and takes control of the dance. She spins you around so your back is pressed up against her front and she wraps her arms around your waist. She then leans in close to your ear so only you can hear her. “With you pressed up against me like this, I just want to pound into you with the strap until you can’t walk.” She says and you lose your balance for a second and Melissa notices. “I think you want that too.” She adds.
“Melissa, you’re drunk and not thinking straight.” You tell her.
“Thinking straight is for straight people.” She tells you and you giggle.
“That’s true, and we’re not straight.” You say with a smile.
She’s about to reply back but then you see Janine start to dance and people backing up to form a circle.
“GO JANINE! GO JANINE!” People chant and you and Melissa join in.
An hour later, everyone starts leaving and Barb calls Gerald to come pick her up. You and Melissa wait until Barb is picked up and then you lead Melissa to the car to drive you both home.
“You know I had a lot of fun tonight!” She says quite loudly and you giggle.
“And you’re gonna feel like shit tomorrow.” You tell her and she laughs.
“You know I haven’t forgotten about wanting to pound into you until you can’t walk.” She says and you glance at her quickly before turning your attention back to the road.
“Play on your phone.” You tell her and she does take her phone out.
You get back home and you help Melissa as she stumbles back into the house.
“Let’s get you upstairs and to bed.” You tell her and she hums.
“Want me already?” She asks and she gets closer to your ear.
“We need to get you upstairs before you pass out.” You tell her and she scoffs.
“Schemmenti’s don’t pass out because of a bit of alcohol.” She slurs out and you shake your head at her.
“You didn’t have a bit of alcohol though, you had a lot.” You tell her as you make it to the bedroom. You drop her onto the bed and then you take her blazer and shirt off.
“Seems like you want me since you’re undressing me.” She says and then you take her bra off and put a pj shirt on her. “What the fuck? What’s with the shirt?” She complains as she tries to take it off. You then push her gently and she falls back on the bed. You then take her shoes, leather pants and underwear off. You try and put some shorts on her but she moves her legs, making it harder so you decide to just ditch the shorts.
You tuck her in and then you go and get ready for bed yourself. Once you come back out of the bathroom, you see her already asleep and you roll your eyes and then climb into bed. Once you get in, she unconsciously moves closer to you and you wrap an arm around her before you fall asleep.
Melissa wakes up first as the sun is in her eyes and she whines. “Y/n?” She calls out and you wake up but don’t open your eyes. “Y/n where are you?” She calls out again.
“I’m right behind you genius, my arm is around you.” You tell her and she grabs hold of your hand. She then gets a notification on her phone and she grabs it to see a calendar note.
“Y/n?” She starts.
“Ya?”
“Why is there a reminder on my phone that says pound into Y/n with strap?” She asks you and you open your eyes and look at her phone.
“When the hell did you… you must have put that in there in the car when I kept denying your advances.” You tell her and you laugh.
“You were able to deny me?” She asks and you nod. “And how hard was I trying?”
“Honestly? Not as hard as I thought you would.” You tell her and she turns around to face you.
“Why don’t I have shorts on?” She asks and you chuckle.
“You kept kicking your legs when I tried to put them on so I gave up.” You tell her.
“And why do you have shorts on?” She asks and you look at her.
“Because I didn’t get plastered last night. I had one drink when I got there and nothing else.” You say and she hums.
“I think you should take the shorts off.” She says with a deeper voice and you look at her eyes and see how dark they are, her normal green is now gone.
“And why’s that?” You ask with a smile.
“Because you’re on my to do list today.” She says and she takes her shirt off. Melissa knew that you can’t deny it when she’s fully naked, or if she’s topless, as her boobs are too perfect for you to say no to.
“You're using my weakness against me.” You tell her and move closer to her and she winks at you. She leans forward and kisses you and doesn’t pull away until you moan. You start to move down to suck on her nipples but she stops you and you look at her.
“You can’t touch them unless you take your clothes off.” She tells you and you quickly take your pj shirt and shorts off. “That’s better. As cute as you are with my shirt and your little shorts on, I much prefer you without anything on.” She says and she tilts your chin and places a kiss on your lips. “Now be a good girl and suck my tits really well.” She says and you happily move your body down and put a nipple in your mouth.
You start sucking and swirling your tongue all over and she’s spewing out moans and gasps. It doesn’t take long until you move your hand down and start circling your clit, turned on by the noises she’s making and sucking on her tit. It isn’t until you’re sucking on the other one that she notices you touching yourself. She pushes you off of her nipple and grabs the hand that you’re touching yourself with, and you let out a whine.
“I think you’re being bad, touching yourself without my permission.” She tells you and you look up at her. “Without mommy’s permission.” She adds and you try to suck on her nipples again but she stops you.
“I’m sorry mommy, let me please you.” You plead and she smiles.
“I know how you’re going to do that.” She tells you and then she goes into the nightstand and pulls out the strap and the dildo. “I’m going to put this on with some lube, and then you’re going to ride it.” She tells you and you nod.
You watch as she puts the strap on and then puts the dildo on it, she grabs the lube and puts a good amount on it. She lays down on her back and instructs you to start riding it. You get up and straddle her lap, you go up a bit and she aligns the dildo with your entrance. You slowly sink down on it, feel as it slowly fills you up, stretching you out. It isn’t until you’re halfway down that you realise that she grabbed the biggest one and it’s filling you up nicely, stretching you out a good amount, especially since you haven’t used the biggest one in 2 months.
“It’s big.” You whine out and she grabs your hips, helping you slide down all the way.
“I know, I want to watch as your pussy just swallows up the entire thing, like the little whore that you are.” She says and that just makes you wetter. You take the whole thing as she bottoms out and then you take a second before you start moving your hips. “That’s it, keep going until you come all over it.” She says and you whimper before you move faster. “If you come like a good girl then I’ll reward you by pounding it into you.” She says. “The way I know you like.” She adds and you suck in a breath at imagining that.
Melissa made sure to position the dildo exactly where it will rub against her clit, knowing how you’ll ride it as she’s gotten you to do it before. She decides to tease you more. She brings a hand down to her pussy, under the strap, and she covers two fingers in her wetness. She then brings them close to you and instructs you to suck on them. You put them in your mouth and you immediately taste her in your mouth, making you move faster and getting you to want to come even faster than before. Melissa watches as you suck her fingers and feels them in your mouth and how your tongue is licking them clean. She really should have thought that through as it’s teasing her more than you. She decides to fuck it and grabs your hips, she pulls you off the strap and you’re looking at her confused.
“Don’t give me that look, you look and feel so good, I can’t wait any longer.” She tells you and she gets you on your hands and knees before she slams the dildo in your entrance and you gasp out. She doesn’t start off slow, she starts pounding into you and you start gasping and moaning right away and that makes her smile. “You like that baby, don’t you? When I’m a bit rough with you, isn’t that right?” She asks you and you whimper. “Use words my love.”
“Yes Melissa, I like it when you’re rough with me.” You tell her and she stops and bends down to your ear.
“When I’m making you feel good, I’m not Melissa, remember baby?”
“Mommy.” You say and she smiles before she sits back up and continues slamming the dildo into you. She watches as you just take the dildo, all of it, all at once and she moans out.
“I just love watching you take all of me, all I give you.” She tells you and she stumbles a little as her orgasm is building. “Oh god baby, do you feel it building, your orgasm?” She asks and you nod.
“Yes mommy, I’m getting close.” You tell her and she grabs your hips to stabilise herself.
“That’s good baby, mommy is getting close as well.” She tells you and you can tell as she’s getting messy, stumbling a bit.
“Make me come mommy.” You whimper out and she moans out.
“Oh god, I love it when you beg.” She says and she sees your legs start to shake. She can hear your breathing get heavier and she has to move harder so she knows you’re clenching around the dildo. “Come baby, let me hear you.” She says and you take a few breaths before you come with a moan. Melissa comes a few seconds after and she holds onto you for stability. She gently pulls out of you but it still has you whimper as it’s big and you’re still coming down from your high. “I know baby, shh.” She says and then she’s out of you fully and she takes it off. “Come here.” She says as she lays down and you join here, and she wraps you protectively in her arms.
“You sure got over your hangover quickly.” You say after a few seconds and she laughs.
“Well my lovely fiancé needed me to make her feel good. I still have a headache though.” She tells you and you look up at her.
“You know you said something last night.” You say and she hums.
“I bet I said a lot of things last night. What stupid thing did I say now?” She asks.
“It wasn’t stupid actually, it was nice.” You say and she looks at you. “You called me your lovely wife and said we should get married right now.” You tell her and she smiles.
“Well I do think about just going to city hall and getting married but this is your first wedding and if you want a wedding then you’ll have a wedding.” She tells you and you kiss her.
“Really?” You ask and she nods.
“I asked you to marry me a month ago because I wanted to spend the rest of my days making you happy and seeing that smile of yours.” She tells you and you can’t help but smile at her words. “That’s the smile I’m talking about.” She says and boops your nose.
“I know next year we’re getting married but if you want to start calling me your wife then you can.” You tell her.
“Really?”
“Ya, I mean you’re going to be calling me that for the rest of our lives, why not start now?” You tell her and her smile grows.
“Ok, my lovely wife.” She tells you and gives you a kiss.

Stirring the Quiet - (7) Tangled Thoughts, Clear Hearts
Jenna Ortega x Reader

Summary: Days have passed since the run-in with Jenna's friends, and Y/N is still reeling from the unexpected "grilling." With the fall festival next weekend, there's excitement but nerves, too. Amid taco nights and family teasing, Y/N's mind keeps circling back to Jenna and where things might be headed. But just when Y/N thinks they’ve got it figured out, a simple text from Jenna hints at something more—if Y/N's ready to take the leap.
Word Count: 3.8k
The familiar chime of keys jingling in my hand as I unlocked the doors to The Daily Grind felt like the start of any other morning. Wilma and I stepped inside, the café still bathed in the soft, early morning glow. It was peaceful, calm—before the chaos of the day began.
Wilma flicked on the lights and headed straight for the kitchen. “I’ll start on the pastries. You got the coffee?”
I nodded, already moving toward the espresso machine. “On it.”
The morning routine was easy, familiar. It helped distract me from the whirlwind of thoughts that had been swirling in my head since the run-in with Emma and Melissa. I knew why they’d grilled me that day—testing my character, sizing me up to make sure I wasn’t playing games with Jenna. The whole thing still made me laugh a little, now that the intensity of it had passed.
But still, it left an impression.
Wilma popped her head out of the kitchen, eyeing me as I spaced out again. “You good? You’re staring off into space like you’re waiting for something to happen.”
I shook myself out of it. “Yeah, just thinking about the other day.”
Wilma raised an eyebrow. “You mean when Emma Myers and Melissa Barrera came in? You still stuck on that?”
“Kind of,” I admitted, pausing to lean against the counter. “I know they were testing me. You know, for Jenna. Just wanted to see if I had good intentions or whatever.”
Wilma smirked, wiping her hands on her apron. “Sounds like they take protecting their friend seriously.”
I nodded, a small smile creeping up. “Yeah, I get it. But they really threw me off. I wasn’t expecting it.”
She chuckled, disappearing back into the kitchen. “Well, it sounds like you passed the test. Guess they know you’re not a player.”
“Yeah,” I muttered to myself. “Guess so.”
Even though I knew they were just looking out for Jenna, it still weighed on me. Jenna was a big deal—bigger than I’d ever thought. And having her friends throw me into an interrogation, even under the guise of acting, made me realize how seriously they took her happiness.
And now, here I was, not just thinking about what Jenna might feel—but how I felt too.
I busied myself with brewing coffee and prepping the counter for the first wave of customers, trying to focus on the normal rhythm of the morning. But it was hard to shake the weight of it all. I didn’t mind that her friends cared so much. In fact, it made me admire Jenna even more, seeing how loyal and protective her circle was.
What I couldn’t figure out yet was how I fit into that picture.
Sure, Jenna had shown interest—at least, I was pretty sure she had. The lingering touches, the way she looked at me, the way she’d said I was different. All signs pointed to something more than friendship. But there was still that little voice in the back of my head, the one that nagged at me, questioning everything.
Would this really go anywhere? Did someone like Jenna, with her fame, her life in the spotlight, have room for someone like me? And even if she did, could I handle it? The attention, the scrutiny—it was all so far from the life I was used to.
I wiped down the counter, trying to shake the thoughts away, but they clung to me like stubborn shadows. As I finished prepping, Wilma popped up beside me, holding a tray of fresh pastries.
“You’ve been in your head all morning,” she observed, her tone light but probing. “Wanna talk about it?”
I glanced at her, shrugging slightly. “It’s just... everything with Jenna. I don’t know, Wilma. I feel like I’m overthinking it.”
Wilma raised an eyebrow, placing the tray on the counter and leaning against the wall. “Overthinking? What’s there to overthink? She likes you, right? And from what I can tell, you like her.”
I sighed, leaning against the counter. “Yeah, but it’s not that simple. I mean, look at her life. It’s so different from mine. I’m just a barista, and she’s... well, she’s Jenna Ortega.”
Wilma gave me a sympathetic smile. “Y/N, you’re not ‘just a barista.’ You’re you, and that’s why she likes you. You don’t have to fit into her world perfectly. If anything, she’s probably looking for something real, something outside of all the Hollywood craziness. And that’s what you give her.”
Her words made sense, but there was still that lingering doubt in my chest. “I guess. I just don’t want to get my hopes up, you know? I’ve been burned before.”
Wilma’s expression softened, and she reached out, placing a hand on my arm. “I get it. But you can’t let fear of the past ruin something good now. Jenna seems like she’s really into you. You just have to trust that and see where it goes.”
I nodded, appreciating her support. “Thanks, Wilma. I just... I don’t want to mess this up.”
“You won’t,” she said with a reassuring smile. “Just be yourself. That’s all you need to do.”
I smiled back, feeling a little lighter. Maybe she was right. Maybe I was overthinking things. Jenna had been clear about wanting to spend time with me, and her friends had given me the third degree—which, in a weird way, was a sign that they cared about her and maybe even wanted to see if I was the real deal. That had to mean something.
The bell above the door chimed, and the first wave of customers started trickling in, pulling me back into the routine of work. But even as I poured coffee and rang up orders, the thoughts of Jenna lingered, like a low hum in the background of my mind.
Later that afternoon, I was taking a quick break in the back when my phone buzzed. I pulled it out, expecting a text from Wilma or one of my brothers, but my heart skipped when I saw Jenna’s name pop up.
I unlocked my phone, and the message made my heart flutter.
Jenna: Hey, what are you doing this next weekend? There's a fall festival in town, and I thought would be fun to check it out. Want to go with me?
A festival? The thought of walking through a fall festival with Jenna, surrounded by cozy autumn vibes, sounded perfect.
I quickly typed back, immediately.
Y/N: That sounds amazing. I’m totally down. What day were you thinking?
A few seconds later, my phone buzzed again.
Jenna: Saturday afternoon? It’s supposed to have food trucks, live music, and carnival games. We could just hang out and see where the night takes us.
I smiled, the excitement bubbling up inside me.
Y/N: I’m in! I can’t wait. Saturday it is.
After sending the message, I found myself grinning like an idiot, unable to stop thinking about how much fun next weekend was going to be. The idea of spending the day with Jenna, surrounded by the crisp fall air, pumpkins, and carnival lights, felt like something out of a dream.
As I tucked my phone back into my pocket and returned to work, my mind was already racing with thoughts of what the day might bring.
Two days later, I was back in the kitchen with Marcus and Caleb, prepping for a taco night instead of our usual routine meals. Mr. Noodles, as always, was perched on top of the fridge, his eyes darting back and forth between us as if supervising our cooking process. Caleb was working on the seasoned beef, adding his special blend of spices, while Marcus was busy chopping up vegetables, humming some random tune.
The smell of fresh tortillas and sizzling meat filled the air, making the kitchen feel warm and homey. But as much as I tried to focus on cooking, my mind kept wandering back to the fall festival and the fact that I’d be hanging out with Jenna.
“I can practically see the gears turning in your head,” Marcus said, breaking my thoughts. He wasn’t even looking at me, still focused on chopping tomatoes. “Thinking about your big day with Jenna?”
Caleb, always the more thoughtful one, glanced over from the stove. “He’s got a point, Ken. You’ve been pretty quiet for someone with a big weekend coming up.”
I shook my head, trying to brush it off. “I’m just... thinking. And it’s not a big deal.”
Marcus grinned, clearly not buying it. “Uh-huh. Just a ‘casual hangout’ with a mega-famous actress. Totally not a big deal.”
I groaned, rolling my eyes. “You guys are making it sound way bigger than it is. It’s just a festival.”
Caleb smirked, stirring the taco meat. “Sure, but it’s not every day you go to a festival with Jenna Ortega. It’s okay to admit you’re nervous.”
Before I could respond, my phone buzzed with an incoming FaceTime call. I glanced down and saw it was from Mom. “Uh-oh,” I muttered, grabbing my phone. “Mom’s calling.”
Marcus’s eyes lit up. “Oh, this should be good.”
I answered the call, and immediately, my mom’s face filled the screen, her usual bright smile greeting me. “Hey, sweetie! How’s everything going?”
“Hey, Mom,” I replied, trying to keep the conversation casual as Marcus and Caleb exchanged amused glances. “We’re just making tacos.”
Dad’s voice boomed in the background. “Tacos, huh? Save some for us!”
I laughed, and just as I was about to respond, my little sister Layla’s face popped into view, her excitement practically vibrating through the phone. “Y/N! Marcus told us you have a date with Jenna Ortega! Is it true?”
I shot Marcus a glare, and he just grinned innocently, continuing to chop vegetables. “Seriously?” I mouthed at him.
Layla’s squeal of excitement pierced the air. “I knew it! You’re going on a date with a movie star! This is so cool! Can you get her autograph for me?”
My face heated up, and I rubbed my temples, trying to keep calm. “It’s not a date, Layla. We’re just hanging out.”
But before I could explain further, Mom’s face appeared on the screen again, her smile even bigger now. “Ken, that’s wonderful! I’m so glad you’re getting out there again. It’s about time.”
Dad chuckled in the background. “You better make a good impression. Who knows? Maybe she’ll be the one.”
I groaned internally, feeling the weight of everyone’s excitement. “Guys, please, it’s not like that. We’re just going to a festival. No big deal. Casual hangout”
“Right,” Marcus chimed in, clearly enjoying this. “Just a casual outing with one of the most famous actresses in the world. Totally normal.”
Layla squealed again. “Y/N, this is awesome! You’re dating someone rich! Can you imagine all the fancy places you could go?”
I facepalmed, the teasing from my family getting worse by the second. “Layla, please. I’m still figuring things out.”
Mom chuckled, her voice softening. “We’re just happy for you, sweetie. You deserve to have fun.”
Layla was still practically bouncing off the walls. “You have to tell me all about it, okay? Even if she’s not Tom Holland, this is still huge!”
I sighed, finally giving in. “Fine, I’ll tell you about it. But seriously, it’s not as big of a deal as you’re all making it.”
Dad grinned, giving me a playful wink. “We’ll be the judge of that.”
As the teasing continued, Caleb and Marcus were grinning from ear to ear, clearly loving every minute of my embarrassment. Mr. Noodles, meanwhile, had managed to sneak closer to the plate of cheese, and Marcus had to shoo him away quickly.
After a few more minutes of chaotic family chatter, I finally ended the call, feeling both exasperated and oddly comforted by their excitement.
I turned to Marcus, narrowing my eyes. “You just had to spill the beans, didn’t you?”
He shrugged, not even pretending to be sorry. “Hey, where’s the fun in keeping secrets?”
Caleb chuckled, handing me a taco shell. “Don’t worry, Ken. We’re just happy for you.”
I sighed, taking the taco and rolling my eyes. “You guys are impossible.”
Marcus raised his taco in a mock toast. “Here’s to your ‘casual hangout’ with Jenna.”
I couldn’t help but laugh despite the embarrassment. Deep down, though, I was already feeling a mix of excitement and nerves about the weekend.
Whatever was going to happen, it was clear that my family—and Mr. Noodles—would have plenty to say about it.
Later that evening, after the chaos of dinner and the endless teasing had died down, I found myself curled up on the couch with Mr. Noodles resting comfortably on my lap. His steady purring was a welcome comfort after the whirlwind of emotions the past few days had stirred up. I absentmindedly scratched behind his ears as I scrolled through my phone, trying to unwind.
It wasn’t the festival yet, but the anticipation still hung in the air, making it hard to focus on anything else. My mind kept drifting back to Jenna, replaying every conversation, every moment we’d shared. Was I reading too much into things? Or was there something real between us?
My phone buzzed with a notification, and I glanced down, expecting it to be another message from Marcus with more teasing. But to my surprise, it was a text from Jenna.
Jenna: Hey! Hope you’re free this weekend. I was thinking we could check out this new art exhibit downtown. I heard it’s really cool, and maybe grab some coffee after?
A smile tugged at my lips. It wasn’t a festival or anything grand, but the idea of spending time with her, doing something as simple as visiting an art exhibit, felt… right. I quickly typed a response, trying to play it cool even though my heart was doing little flips in my chest.
Y/N: That sounds great! I’d love to. What time were you thinking?
She replied almost immediately.
Jenna: How about Friday around noon? We can make a whole afternoon of it if you’re up for it.
Y/N: Sounds perfect. Can’t wait!
As soon as I hit send, a wave of nervous excitement washed over me. It wasn’t just about hanging out with her anymore—it felt like something more.
I spent the rest of the evening thinking about how things had shifted between us, from casual coffee shop chats to this. It was strange, but in the best way possible.
Friday came faster than I expected, and by the time I was getting ready, the nervous excitement had hit full force. Caleb and Marcus, of course, were no help as they hovered around, watching me like vultures.
“So,” Marcus started, leaning against my bedroom doorframe with a grin. “Big day with Jenna, huh?”
I rolled my eyes but couldn’t hide my smile. “It’s not a date.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Caleb said, smirking as he fluffed a pillow on my bed for no reason at all. “But if it were a date, hypothetically, you’d want to look good, right?”
I glanced at them both, trying to suppress a laugh. “Hypothetically.”
Marcus gave me a once-over and nodded. “Well, you’re looking date-ready to me.”
“Guys, it’s just an art exhibit..”
“Uh-huh.” Caleb exchanged a knowing look with Marcus. “Whatever you say, Y/N.”
I sighed, grabbing my jacket and throwing it over my shoulder. “Okay, I’m heading out before you two drive me crazy.”
Marcus gave me a mock salute. “Good luck, sis. You’ve got this.”
“Thanks, I guess?” I muttered, shaking my head as I headed for the door. Mr. Noodles meowed from his perch on the windowsill, watching me go with what I could only describe as mild disinterest.
When I arrived at the art gallery, Jenna was already waiting outside, dressed in a casual yet effortlessly stylish outfit, as always. She spotted me and waved with that signature smile that always made my heart skip a beat.
“Hey!” she greeted as I approached. “You ready to be blown away by some modern art?”
I grinned. “As ready as I’ll ever be.”
We spent the next couple of hours wandering through the exhibit, making comments about the more abstract pieces and laughing at our completely amateur interpretations. Jenna’s knowledge of art was impressive, though she played it down, explaining how her mom had always taken her to galleries when she was younger.
It was easy being with her—comfortable, even when the conversation dipped into deeper topics. As we moved from room to room, I couldn’t help but feel like this was the kind of moment you didn’t get often—something simple, but meaningful.
After the exhibit, we grabbed coffee at a nearby café, sitting by the window as we sipped our drinks. The conversation flowed as naturally as ever, and before I knew it, hours had passed.
So,” Jenna said, her tone a bit more serious as she swirled her cup. “I’ve been meaning to ask... how are things going? You know, with The Daily Grind, and everyone?”
I looked at her, sensing that she wasn’t just asking about my day. “Things are... good. Busy, but good. And you?”
Jenna smiled softly, her eyes meeting mine. “Same. But it’s been nice... having someone to talk to. Someone who gets it.”
I felt a warmth spread through my chest, a feeling that seemed to be happening more and more whenever we talked. But there was something different in the way she said it this time. Her gaze lingered on mine, and for a brief moment, I thought I saw something flicker in her eyes.
Before I could respond, Jenna shifted slightly in her seat, her fingers tracing the rim of her coffee cup. “Actually, there’s something I’ve been meaning to ask you.” Her voice had a softer, more hesitant edge to it.
I tilted my head, intrigued. “What’s up?”
She bit her lip, almost like she was searching for the right words. “You remember when we first started hanging out? It felt... I don’t know, casual. But lately... I’ve been thinking it’s something more than that. Maybe it always has been, and I didn’t want to admit it.”
My heart pounded in my chest as I tried to process what she was saying. Was she about to say what I thought she was? Was this actually happening?
“I know I’ve been careful about keeping things... low-key,” she continued, her eyes still locked on mine. “But I’ve realized I don’t want to pretend anymore. I don’t want to overthink everything just because of how complicated my life is.”
I swallowed hard, my voice barely above a whisper. “What are you saying, Jenna?”
Jenna let out a small, nervous laugh, running a hand through her hair. “I guess what I’m trying to say is... I like you, Y/N. More than just a friend. And I’ve been trying to figure out if you feel the same way, or if I’m just imagining things.”
I blinked, stunned for a moment. Of all the things I’d imagined happening today, this was not one of them. Jenna Ortega, the girl who had been the subject of all my daydreams for the past few months, was sitting across from me, confessing her feelings. For me.
A grin spread across my face as my nervousness faded. I leaned in, gently placing a hand on hers. "You're not imagining things, Jenna," I said softly, my heart racing. "I’ve felt the same for a while. I wasn’t sure if I knew fully or was ready for it."
Jenna’s eyes widened in surprise, but a bright smile broke across her face. “Really? You’ve... felt the same?”
I nodded, my own smile growing. “Yeah. I didn’t want to push anything, especially since I know your life is crazy and complicated. But... yeah. I like you, Jenna. A lot.”
Her smile softened into something more tender, wrapping her fingers around mine and holding my hand. "I'm really glad you said that."
For a moment, we just sat there, the world outside the café falling away as we looked at each other. It was like everything had shifted between us in the span of a few sentences, but in the best possible way.
“Does this mean...” I started, trying to piece together what this meant for us. “That we’re...?”
Jenna laughed softly, her eyes twinkling. “Let’s just say we’re taking a step forward. I don’t want to rush anything, but I also don’t want to hold back anymore.”
I nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. “I’m okay with that.”
We both sat back, the tension in the air replaced by something lighter, something that felt like the start of something new.
“There’s something else I’ve been meaning to tell you,” Jenna said, her tone shifting to something more serious.
I tilted my head, curious. “Yeah?”
She hesitated, fiddling with her bracelet for a moment before looking up at me. “I’ve been offered a pretty big role. It’s... out of the country, though. And it’s long-term.”
My stomach did a small flip. “Out of the country? For how long?”
Jenna sighed. “Six months, maybe longer. It’s a dream project, but I didn’t want to bring it up until I knew for sure. And now it’s official.”
I blinked, trying to process the information. “Wow. That’s... amazing, Jenna. But... six months?”
She gave a small nod, her eyes searching mine for a reaction. “Yeah, I know. It’s a lot to take in. I don’t even know how to feel about it yet. On one hand, it’s such a huge opportunity, but on the other...”
I didn’t know what to say for a second, my mind racing with thoughts. “You’re going to take it, right?”
Jenna looked down, biting her lip. “I think so. But I wanted to tell you first. I didn’t want to just... disappear without you knowing what was going on.”
I sat back, taking in her words. It felt like a heavy shift, something neither of us had been expecting. Six months was a long time, and part of me wasn’t sure how to feel about it. But at the same time, this was a huge step for Jenna, and I knew how much her work meant to her.
“I’m glad you told me,” I said, my voice steady. “It sounds like an incredible opportunity. I’m proud of you.”
Jenna smiled softly, relief washing over her face. “Thanks. I just didn’t want you to think I was... leaving, you know?”
I nodded, understanding the unspoken weight behind her words. This wasn’t just about the project; it was about us—whatever this was it was getting serious. And while the news felt like a curveball, it didn’t change how I felt. Not in the slightest.
“Well, we’ll figure it out,” I said, offering her a reassuring smile. “Whatever happens, we’ll figure it out.”
Jenna’s smile grew, and I saw a flicker of hope in her eyes for the first time since the conversation started. “Yeah. We will.”

your writing is so fucking hot and perfect! pls can I request a fic where mel ends up getting possessive and jealous after seeing someone hitting on her girlfriend (reader) at abbott and when they get home, melissa makes sure that her girl knows that belongs to her and nobody else.
(featuring a lot of rough sex and some cute aftercare cuz we all love jealous schemmenti. 🤭)
a dangerous emotion (melissa schemmenti x fem!reader)
summary: when the new substitute teacher hits on you in front of melissa, you face the dirty consequences of her jealousy.
warnings: smut (18+), jealous sex, aggressive male flirting, mel threatens violence (it's melissa), squirting, like one mention of marking
notes: the sleepy witch is back. hope you like this one anon, sorry if i left it in the oven too long. also sorry for any other deficiencies tbh writing is a struggle rn. bonus points to whoever can spot the gay joke 👩❤️💋👩 friendly fire.
if looks could kill, this fucking guy would be a pile of ash by now.
the teachers' lounge was uncharacteristically quiet. the tv had been muted; nobody cared to watch the morning news. all eyes flickered between you and the new male teacher on one side of the room, and your seething girlfriend on the other.
the redhead was visibly furious from the moment he walked in the door, eyes dragging down your body in your flowery sundress and matching tights.
"happy first day to me," he murmured to himself, thinking nobody would hear it. it took all of melissa's self-control and professionalism not to punch his lights out.
"spring looks good on you, sweetie," he drawled from behind you as you poured coffee from the communal pot into your favorite mug.
the hem of your dress floated up as you spun around to face him, and he licked his lips. you didn't notice it, but melissa did. her hands tightened into fists in her lap.
"thank you," you smiled warmly at the man in an attempt to be polite. he was tall and stocky, probably just a few years older than you. he seemed like the kind of guy who was used to getting whatever he wanted from women—with his handsome yet cocky grin and large arms crossed in front of his chest. "are you new here?"
"yep, and i like what i see already," he threw you a wink and you looked down at the floor. you heard melissa cracking her knuckles in the background. she only did that when she was holding back, either from pouncing on you or swinging at somebody else. "i'm jesse. i'll be teachin' math up on the second floor until ms. summers gets back from maternity leave."
"well, jesse, welcome to abbott," you said sweetly, hoping to escape this conversation and join your girlfriend on the couch. "i'm a first-grade teacher, so i won't be seeing you much. but it's nice to meet y—"
"actually, i was hoping you'd show me around," he cut you off, taking a few steps toward you. "if i get lost in this building, my preteen students will never let me live it down."
"oh, um..."
before you could finish your thought, he leaned in and whispered something in your ear. melissa saw the whole exchange, enraged at this man's audacity to even breathe in your direction. you were her girl. everybody knew that. and it was time for this guy to learn.
but when melissa stood up to confront him, you did something that made her see red: you walked out with him. the other teachers noticed her anger, of course, and tried to calm her down.
"melissa, relax," barbara said, gently pulling on her best friend's hand and guiding her to sit back down. "he's harmless."
"harmless?" melissa repeated indignantly. "barb, he was lookin' at her like he wanted to bend her over the damn table!"
"you look at her like that all the time..." gregory muttered, and melissa raised an eyebrow at him in accusation. he shrugged and averted his gaze.
"i look at her like i love her!" melissa insisted. "and she's my girlfriend. i get to look at her however i want. this jamie—"
"jesse," janine corrected.
"—can't just walk in and start undressin' her with his eyes!"
"if it helps, i can keep an eye on him, make sure he doesn't do anything untoward," jacob offered. "i'm pretty much the big dog on the second floor these days. i can set him straight if it comes to that."
"you couldn't even set yourself straight," melissa fired back, and jacob gave the camera a defeated look. "what, you think i can't handle this myself?"
"well, it's just that... jealousy is a dangerous emotion on you," jacob answered tentatively.
"jealousy? what am i, some kinda teenager? i don't get jealous."
"i don't know, you seemed pretty jealous at pecsa last year when the keynote speaker gave y/n his room number," gregory pointed out.
"he was just annoying."
"you poured your math-a-rita on his white suit jacket," janine chimed in.
"the jabroni shouldn't have worn white to a bar!"
"melissa, i know you're protective of y/n, but she's a grown woman capable of making her own decisions," barbara said, placing a comforting hand over the redhead's clenched fists. "she doesn't seem to have a problem with the man. at some point, you just need to trust her judgment."
"yeah, she and i are going to have a little conversation about her judgment when she gets back."
"whose judgment?" you asked as you strode back into the break room, jesse following close behind.
when your question was met with silence and anxious looks from your friends, jesse took hold of your hand and brought it to his lips.
"thanks for the tour, cutie," he said after pressing a chaste kiss to the back of your hand.
"thank you," you replied, shifting uneasily and look over your shoulder in anticipation of melissa's reaction. she didn't keep you waiting long.
"hey, hon," melissa approached the two of you, then hooked an arm around your waist and pulled you close. "the kids'll be here in half an hour, do you wanna go prep your classroom for the science lab?"
"i did that last night," you replied, not taking the hint.
"of course you did," mel cooed and planted a kiss behind your ear. jesse quirked an eyebrow in confusion. "maybe i just want some alone time with my lovely girlfriend before i start my day. that okay with you?"
you nodded sheepishly and leaned in to her. you could feel her possessive anger in her tough grip on your waist, could see it in the subtle wild edge to her green eyes. despite being in deep trouble, you still relaxed into the warmth of her casual touch and the familiar scent of patchouli on her skin.
jesse took a step back, opening his mouth as if to say something and sighing instead. as you and melissa exited the breakroom, jesse tried one more time to get your attention.
"hey, if you need any more—"
"i think we're good, janine," melissa cut him off with a dismissive gesture.
"it's jesse," the man sighed with a frustrated look at the camera.
---
"what the hell was that, huh?" melissa had you pinned up against her classroom door before you could even process what was happening. "you're givin' free tours now?"
"n-no!" you stammered frantically, squirming with unease (and excitement) at the fiery confrontation. "not free! i only did it so he would give me the extra chairs from his classroom. you know i've been down a few since the eighth graders tried to make 'chairing' a thing, and i can't let my kids spend another day on the floor. it's not fair!"
"how many times have i told you, i can get you anything you need?"
"yeah, and where's your 'chair guy' now? at least jesse can finish the job!"
oh, you fucked up. you knew it the moment the words left your mouth. melissa eased off of you physically, but her intense glare kept you frozen in place.
"we'll talk about this when we get home. i love you; don't forget it," melissa pecked your cheek and you cocked your head, confused at her sudden tranquility. she moved to whisper in your ear. "because tonight, i'm takin' all my jealousy out on you."
---
you had the misfortune of running into jesse one more time before the day was done. he wolf-whistled from behind you as you walked briskly from your classroom to the lobby, ready to meet melissa and head home.
melissa might have broken his nose if jacob and gregory hadn't been there to hold her back. in fact, she was a split-second away from swinging when jacob took hold of her dominant wrist, shaking his head. gregory followed suit with the other.
the redhead tried to wrench her arms free and glared sternly at the young men when she couldn't. sensing her frustration, you hurried over to her. melissa's gaze softened as soon as she saw you leaning over the counter. you gave jacob and gregory an appreciative nod.
the pair let go of her arms and you took her hands in yours. "let's go home," you said.
the two of you walked out of the building as jacob and gregory approached jesse.
"she's not interested, if you're still wondering," jacob said, patting jesse's shoulder in mock sympathy.
"should be pretty obvious by now," gregory added.
"first day, and you pissed off my scariest teacher and my favorite?" ava said while strutting out of her office. "nice career move, jason," she snarked. the teachers gave her a bewildered look. "what? i pay attention!"
---
once you got home, it all happened in a blur. melissa's possessive rage had you slipping into that fuzzy, pliable headspace before she even slammed the bedroom door behind you.
you couldn't concentrate on much besides her forceful touch, fingers digging into your hips and mouth sucking bruises into your neck. her low voice cut through the static occasionally, but she seemed to be venting to herself rather than you.
"mine..." her fingernails dug into the flesh of your waist. "touchin' my girl..." she spaced out the words between nips to your neck. "gotta mark you up, let the whole world know..." she landed a hard swat on your ass, then shoved you off of her. "on the bed."
---
"remind me again what he said when you spilled coffee on your shirt," melissa growled from above you. you were spread out on her bed, naked with your legs kept apart by turquoise ropes tied to the bedposts.
"he said, 'feel free to take it off. i wouldn't complain about the view,'" you whispered back.
"and you just let that slide, hm? you entertained him knowin' all he wanted was an eyeful of your tits?"
"yes, melissa."
"i'm sorry, does someone need a reminder of who owns her? i'm happy to provide, sweet girl. tell me," she dipped a finger into your folds and stroked you lightly, "who gets you this wet?"
"you do, ah, only you," you whimpered as she caressed you.
"uh-huh," she cooed, sounding unsatisfied still. "that's right, baby. and i'm the only one who gets to see you like this."
she gripped your hips harshly before gliding her hands up to your chest. she kneaded the swollen flesh of your tits and then zeroed in on your nipples, tweaking and tugging on them.
"that fucker," melissa began, breathing heavily. "will never know how soft these are."
you shook your head in frantic agreement as she massaged you. one of her hands slipped down between your legs again.
"he'll never hear how your breath catches in your throat when your clit's touched," she whispered, beginning to rub soft circles into your bundle of nerves. "or—" she withdrew suddenly and gave your pussy a swat, "how you cry at a spanking."
her jealous attitude had you soaked and sensitive. you were already close when she brought two fingers to your entrance and pushed in.
"and if he ever even imagines the face you make when you come, that pretty little lip bite you do," melissa pumped and curled her fingers roughly, "i'll take edith houghton to'm."
her speed quickly picked up and soon she was diving into you with force, bullying your g-spot with her fingertips.
"come. now," she ordered, and you fell over the edge. you spasmed around her fingers as she drove them in and out of you. she smirked with pride as she looked down at you.
but when you got too sensitive and started to squirm away from her touch, she doubled down. she pumped her fingers faster, and dipped down to suckle on your clit. you cried out. it felt like you were on fire, but the burn was oh so delicious.
"and he'll never guess what happens when you get all sensitive..." she picked her head up momentarily to say this before sucking hard on your nub and crooking her fingers inside you.
you felt the burn rise into a hot tidal wave. a flood of warm liquid spilled out of you. melissa helped you through it before withdrawing her touch, her hands retreating to your thighs. she looked down at you fondly, smiling with only a tiny bit of smug satisfaction.
"god, i love when you do that," she mused, smiling at your dazed, pretty, happy face. "it's like a gift just for me."
a gift. happy first day to me, he had said.
now reminded, melissa was pissed again. but the venom of her jealousy had trickled away, and now all that remained was an urgent need to give you the love and care you deserved.
"but you said somethin' earlier about 'finishing the job.' and i just feel like my job isn't finished, sweetheart," she smiled and cupped your cheeks. "how's a bubble bath sound?"
"mm-hmmm," you managed, fucked out and delirious.
---
"i really wasn't jealous, ya know," melissa murmured into your ear as you snuggled into bed, her chest pressed against your back.
"i find that hard to believe. i mentioned his name and you ripped my panties," you teased.
"okay, maybe a little bit."
"30 percent?"
"20."
"25."
"fine."
"then what was the other 75 percent?"
"i guess it just pisses me off when people don't treat you right. you're a beautiful angel, not a sex doll."
"i don't want you to feel... to feel like you have to take care of me all the time."
"baby girl, you know i don't do things i don't wanna do. you're the love of my life. i wanna spend every minute treatin' you like a princess."

Im going to be upfront and say I'm not happy about everyone coming back for Scream 7 (so far: Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and Matthew Lillard).
Spyglass has not apologized for firing Melissa Barrera. She accurately called what happened in Palestine a genocide and they called it hate speech and fired her. They literally called her an antisemite and said she was distorting the holocaust for posting an article written by a respected Israeli holocaust historian.
That's an exceptionally fucked up act of censorship, like how is it ok for someone to lose their job for speaking out against literal war crimes? For posting a respected academic's criticism of his own country's military action?
They obviously had plans for Barrera's character and Since Jenny Ortega walked out too they had to scrap whatever that was. The fact that they're bringing back so many legacy actors now feels like a blatant attempt to distract from justified criticism and grab cash back from people who might have turned away from the franchise a bit.
It all puts a really sour taste in my mouth. I won't be going to see this movie in theatres. I don't want to support it financially and I don't really want to talk about it here either. I don't like that a thing I love this much is being dissected and reused so cynically for parts, and I especially don't like that a bunch of the people making money off of it support genocide.
You can make your own decision about what to do here, I'm not trying to condemn anyone. I'm not trying to be a downer and I'm sorry if you're excited about this, I don't think you're a bad person. I just want to be clear that I'm not really interested in engaging about this movie because Im not going to be able to get this out of my head.

so the phone that is left in the bathroom - presumably by the stalker, has this song as a ringtone. Queen of Hearts by Juice Newton. the identity of the stalker has two possibilities: the writers are trying to throw us off by making us think its Melissa, or it actually is Melissa.
This seems a little obvious because Shauna and Melissa's make out scene is intertwined with the scene Shauna making the call about the phone and asking for the description of the person who picked it up. the writers were clearly trying to tell us something there. but there are some more clues that make this theory stronger, and could also provide a lot of insight into Melissa as a character, Shauna's role in the wilderness, and their relationship. I think this song is very significant and has some really interesting symbolism.
first of all, the name. Queen of Hearts, the card that chooses the victim for the hunt. there isn't much to say about that connection.
Playin' with the Queen of Hearts
Knowin' it ain't really smart
The Joker ain't the only fool
Who'll do anythin' for you
so it seems like the story this song is telling is that The Joker, someone lowly or foolish or naïve, is enchanted with The Queen of Hearts- someone with authority or prowess. this isn't a smart path for The Joker to take, because she's the Queen. She'll break your heart.
these lyrics also tell us the The Joker will do anything for the Queen,
Layin' out another lie
Thinkin' 'bout a life of crime
'Cause that's what I'll have to do
To keep me away from you
including committing crimes. these lines are implying that The Joker will never leave their Queen, they would have to be literally locked up for that to happen.
I think this dynamic will be Shauna and Melissa's dynamic in the coming episodes. in the trailer, there's a brief clip where Melissa tells Shauna "that's what power feels like". she wants Shauna to be their leader- to be the Antler Queen. we already know she's enraptured with her, and this only makes that more clear. Melissa is The Joker. Shauna will inevitably hurt her, which is why Melissa is foolish for seeking her out. she's "playin' with The Queen of Hearts", which, just like their rituals, will only end in death, whether in the teen timeline or adult timeline.
even though we barely have any scenes of them together so far, or much information about Melissa's character, we can make some deductions from what we have already seen. I think Melissa will do anything for Shauna. she stomps on the crown that offended Shauna. Shauna holds a knife to her throat and she's into it. she wants Shauna to have power over her and Shauna wants to have power. as said in interviews with the actors, Shauna and Melissa's relationship is going to be a role-reversal of Shauna and Jackie's. while Jackie had power over Shauna (and didn't really want it), and Shauna felt controlled by Jackie (and didn't want to be); now Shauna is the one in power, and she fully wants to be. Shauna will be the next Antler Queen, and Melissa will help her get there, through whatever means necessary, by her side like the queen's joker.
Won't you keep my heart from breakin'
If it's only for a very short time?
this lyric could also imply the nature of their situationship. they are seeking comfort in each other. in the words of some post I read somewhere, this isn't romance like Tia and Van have, or homoerotic friendship like jackieshauna, this is a secret third evil thing (lol). Melissa is and will be a stand-in for Jackie, and she will keep Shauna from breaking only for a short time.
so some miscellaneous clues about Melissa being the stalker:
most damning: Shauna literally calls Melissa a stalker in the teen timeline. Melissa is apparently really good at following Shauna around.
we see the stalker from behind (though extremely out of focus so take this with a grain of salt) and it appears they have blonde hair.
this is someone with deep knowledge of what went on in the wilderness. I don't think this could just be someone whose done research.
now, HOW could there be an eighth survivor if there is no mention of them in the future timeline? my leading theory is that Melissa faked her death, possibly very soon after the rescue. there's no mention of her because she's been "dead" for twenty five years.
i definitely have more ideas for this theory, but I just wanted to focus on the ringtone for now because it really stuck out to me.
#yellowjackets#yellowjackets spoilers#yellowjackets season 3#yellowjackets theory#shauna shipman#melissa yellowjackets#shaunahat#shaunlissa#original theory#I haven't seen anyone else talking about this i just noticed it myself while watching

Something Real:
**Chapter 4: One Too Many Drinks**
Author's Note: I really hope you are all enjoying it. Ngl, we're in for a ride.
Saturday night arrived with a crisp chill in the air—the kind that made people huddle closer, hands wrapped around drinks, laughter spilling into the night. The Abbott teachers had gathered once again for their usual happy hour, the sacred tradition of unwinding after a long week. It was supposed to be easy and casual: a few drinks, some gossip, playful complaints, all in good fun—without the weight of lesson plans and classroom chaos hanging over them.
Melissa wasn’t much of a drinker, especially after a week spent wrangling restless kids and putting out fires left and right. But tonight? Tonight felt different.
She’d spent the past hours trying to shake off whatever the hell had happened between the two of you. That charged moment in her classroom. The way your eyes had lingered, the way her breath had hitched. The way she’d pulled back before something irreversible happened.
It had been stuck in her head, replaying on a loop—unshakable, infuriating.
So tonight, she was trying to bury it.
At first, it worked. Conversation flowed, Ava cracked jokes, and Barbara responded with her signature unimpressed looks. It was familiar and easy. Melissa had tequila in her hand and was doing her best to blend in, laugh at the right moments, and not think about you.
And then, the unthinkable happened.
You were standing by the bar, drink in hand, flirting.
With someone else.
Melissa told herself it didn’t bother her. Why would it? You could talk to whomever you wanted. It wasn’t her business.
But then you laughed. That easy, genuine laugh—the same one that had been tugging at her chest for weeks now. Only this time, it wasn’t because of something she said. It was because of that girl. And the way she leaned in, just a little too close? Yeah, that wasn’t helping.
Melissa’s grip on her glass tightened. The tequila burned down her throat, but it did nothing to smother the slow, simmering heat crawling under her skin. This is stupid.
Barbara, ever perceptive, nudged her side.
“You’re staring, Schemmenti.”
Melissa scoffed, eyes snapping away. “I am not.”
Barbara’s knowing grin only widened. “Uh-huh.”
Melissa didn’t bother arguing. It wouldn’t matter anyway. Instead, she downed the rest of her drink, the glass clinking against the counter a little too forcefully as she set it down.
This was ridiculous. You weren’t hers. You weren’t anything to her. You could flirt, you could do whatever you wanted.
So why did it feel like a punch to the gut?
And why the hell was she still watching?
The irritation that had been building inside her for days finally snapped. Without thinking, Melissa shoved back her chair and stood up.
Barbara called after her, but she didn’t hear.
Didn’t care.
Before she knew it, she was striding across the bar, her mind set on something she wasn’t entirely sure of.
You barely had time to react before Melissa grabbed your wrist, her fingers firm but not rough, and pulled you toward the exit.
“Whoa—Melissa?” you sputtered, confused as she guided you outside. The door swung shut behind you, muting the noise of the bar. The night air was sharp against your skin, but the heat rolling off Melissa burned hotter.
She turned abruptly, her voice tight. “What the hell was that?”
You blinked. “Uh—what?”
Melissa crossed her arms, jaw clenched, her eyes narrowing. “Looked like you were getting cozy over there.”
Your head tilted, the faintest curve of a smile tugging at your lips. It was slow, deliberate, the kind of smile that always made her heart race. “Melissa… are you jealous?”
Her stomach flipped. That simple, direct question felt like a punch to the gut.
Melissa scoffed, her words quick and defensive. “Of course not.”
But her pulse hammered in her chest, her hands curling into fists by her sides. "I just don’t want you making a mistake you might regret later. You’re my colleague, and I—"
You stepped closer, your gaze intense, unwavering. “Then why’d you just drag me outside like a jealous girlfriend?”
Her breath hitched, the words stuck in her throat. She could’ve denied it, brushed it off, or turned around and walked away. Pretend like she hadn’t just crossed some invisible line. But the thing was… this wasn’t new. It had been building for weeks, simmering beneath the surface, clawing at her every time you smiled at someone else, every time you got too close to someone who wasn’t her.
And suddenly, Melissa couldn’t ignore it anymore.
Before her brain could even catch up, before she could think, she grabbed the collar of your jacket, yanked you in, and kissed you.
It wasn’t gentle. It wasn’t sweet. It was raw, desperate, like the whole world had cracked open and she was trying to pour herself into you. Every ounce of frustration, the rush of tequila, and every moment she had tried so damn hard to ignore crashed together, tangled up in the heat of the kiss.
You froze, caught off guard, but only for a second.
And then—like you’d been waiting for this just as long as she had—you kissed her back. Hard. Deep. Every second that had been building between you, every glance, every moment of tension, all of it poured out in that kiss. Your hands found her waist, fingers digging into the fabric of her jacket, pulling her closer.
The world around them disappeared. The bar noise, the chill of the night air—it all faded into the background. There was only this. Only you.
When she finally pulled away, breathless, her heart pounded in her chest like a drumbeat. Her lips tingled, her head was spinning, and for a fleeting moment, she thought she might just lose herself in the feeling of it all.
But then, you grinned.
“So…” you drawled, your voice laced with amusement.
Melissa groaned, a frustrated sound, and squeezed her eyes shut. “Shut up.”
Your laugh was light, easy, but there was something else behind it—a glint in your eye, something teasing and daring.
“Make me,” you challenged, your voice low.
And there it was. That pull. That undeniable tension.
Melissa’s lips twitched into a smirk, her eyes now dark with something more than just frustration. Something far more dangerous, more exciting. She leaned in, voice thick with promise.
“Maybe I will.”
The air between you thickened, charged with electricity, with something she couldn’t quite name but didn’t care to. All she knew was, this wasn’t some impulsive mistake.
And then—just as she was about to cross that line, to give in to the feeling surging between you—there was a noise.
A shout, muffled through the door, someone calling out from inside the bar, the sound of footsteps approaching.
For a second, everything froze.
Before Melissa could process it, you pulled back just enough to look over her shoulder, a flicker of concern passing across your face. Her heart slammed in her chest, but she didn’t look back. She couldn’t. She just knew the moment had slipped away, leaving her with the rush of everything unspoken.
You caught her gaze one last time, your eyes heavy with something unspoken, and then with a soft exhale, you gave her a small nod.
She glanced at the door, the moment shattering into fragments.
“Guess we should get back in there,” she murmured, her voice strained, like she was trying to hold everything inside. Trying to forget it.
You didn’t argue. Only followed her inside, the tension still hanging thick between you, neither of you ready to face it.
As the door swung open, the noise from the bar flooded back in, the chaotic energy of the crowd pulling them back to reality.
But nothing was the same anymore.

THE BET ➫ melissa schemmenti

pairing: melissa schemmenti x fem!reader
synopsis: you and melissa have placed a bet - a bet that you can't go for 24 hours without calling melissa mommy
warnings: dom!sub!dynamics, mommy kink, swearing, degradation, anal, deepthroating, strap-on, face riding - basically 18+
word count: 6.2k
author's note: for the darling @bellatrixnnarcissa - we're finally here! thanks for listening to me vent and overall being great. hopefully this meets your request!

You should have known you were going to lose.
The bet had been simple — last a full 24 hours without calling Melissa Mommy. That was it. One measly day.
And if you won? Well, you’d finally get to flip the script, take control, make her fall apart underneath you for once. It was a rare opportunity, one she dangled in front of you like a treat, smirking the whole time because she knew, she fucking knew, you didn’t stand a chance.
“But I love a good show, sweetheart,” she’d said last night, voice thick with amusement as she leaned against the counter, sipping her whiskey. “So go ahead. Try your best. Maybe you’ll surprise me.”
God, you wanted to prove her wrong.
Wanted to wipe that smug smirk off her face and have her begging for once. But the punishment for losing? That was the risk. If you caved - if you slipped up, even once - she could do whatever she wanted with you. No rules. No limits. Just her in complete control.
And you?
You hadn’t even lasted a fucking hour.
It had happened so fast.
The two of you were curled up on the couch after breakfast, Melissa lazily running her fingers through your hair as some show played in the background, neither of you really paying attention. You had melted into her touch, sighing softly as she scratched at your scalp, her nails dragging slow, lazy patterns that sent little shivers down your spine.
And then it just… slipped out.
"Mmm… love you, Mommy."
The second the word left your lips, your entire body tensed. Your eyes shot open, heart plummeting into your stomach.
Melissa’s fingers stilled in your hair.
For a second, neither of you moved.
And then she let out a quiet chuckle, low, husky, dripping with amusement as she pulled her hand away and leaned back against the couch.
“Well, well,” she murmured, tilting her head. “That was fast.”
You bolted upright. “Wait—wait, no! That doesn’t count! I wasn’t even thinking—I—”
She turned to face you, slow and deliberate, the corner of her mouth twitching up into a smirk.
“You weren’t thinking?” she repeated, voice deceptively sweet as she reached out, catching your chin between her fingers.
Your breath hitched.
“That’s funny, sweetheart,” she continued, dragging her thumb over your bottom lip. “’Cause I do recall saying there were no excuses.”
Fuck.
Her eyes darkened, that slow smirk curling into something wicked. Predatory.
“Bet’s over, baby,” she murmured, her voice dropping to something lower. Hungrier. “You lost.”
Your thighs clenched together, heat pooling between them at the way she was looking at you—like she already had a hundred ways to ruin you running through her mind.
Melissa must have noticed, because her smirk deepened.
“Guess that means I get to do whatever I want with you,” she teased, tilting your face up to hers. “Isn’t that right?”
You swallowed hard and nodded, barely breathing as she ran her fingers down your throat, teasing, light — just enough to remind you of who was in control now.
She hummed, dragging her nails over your collarbone before letting her hand drop.
“Good girl,” she cooed.
Then she leaned in, lips brushing the shell of your ear as she whispered, “Now be a doll and get on your knees for Mommy.”
Your stomach flipped.
A soft whimper left your lips before you could stop it, and Melissa pulled back just enough to look at you—really look at you—her eyes sharp and knowing.
“Oh, honey.” She tsked, trailing her fingers down your arm, sending shivers in their wake. “You’re already so worked up, aren’t you? All because you couldn’t keep that pretty little mouth shut?”
You felt like you were on fire.
You nodded weakly, your body betraying you as you squeezed your thighs together again, desperate for even a little bit of friction.
Melissa saw.
And she laughed.
“Aw, poor thing,” she teased, voice dripping with mock sympathy. “Bet you’d do anything to be touched right now, huh?”
You whined, nodding again, barely able to form words.
She clicked her tongue. “Mm-mm. You know better than that.”
Her hand slid under your chin, tilting your face up until your eyes met hers again.
“Say it,” she ordered.
You swallowed hard, pulse pounding in your ears. “Yes, Mommy.”
Her grin was sharp.
“That’s what I thought.”
Then she leaned back, spreading her legs slightly, patting her thigh as she cocked an eyebrow at you.
“C’mon, baby. On your knees. Now.”
Fuck.
You scrambled off the couch, dropping to your knees between her legs, heart hammering against your ribs as you gazed up at her, waiting for her next move.
Melissa reached down, threading her fingers into your hair with a slow, deliberate tug that made you gasp.
She tilted your head back slightly, her dark, hungry gaze locking onto yours as she smirked.
“Such a good girl for me,” she murmured, brushing her thumb over your cheek.
Then she leaned forward, her lips barely ghosting over yours as she whispered,
“Now, let’s see if that mouth of yours is good for something other than losing bets.”
You could barely breathe. Your hands trembled as you helped Melissa unbutton her pants, your fingers clumsy with anticipation. She lifted her hips slightly, sliding them down just enough to reveal the lace boxers hugging her thighs, and the thick, black strap-on pressing insistently against the fabric.
Your breath hitched. A needy little whimper escaped before you could stop it, your mouth already watering at the sight of her cock, the sheer size of it making your thighs clench.
Melissa chuckled. “Oh, baby,” she cooed mockingly, stroking her fingers through your hair as she watched your dazed expression. “You that desperate already? Didn’t even touch you yet, and you’re whimpering like a pathetic little slut.”
You whined, your face burning hot, but you didn’t deny it. How could you? Not when she was looking at you like that - so smug, so in control, like she already owned you.
And fuck, she did.
“Open.” Her voice left no room for argument. You obeyed instantly, parting your lips as Melissa tugged her boxers down just enough to free her strap, the silicone tip glistening from the lube she must have applied earlier. She pressed it against your lips, tapping it lightly against your tongue, making you shiver. “Take it, slut.”
You moaned at the command, wrapping your lips around the head, letting her slide it past your tongue. Your jaw stretched around the sheer size of it, and Melissa let out a low groan as she eased in, her grip in your hair tightening. “That’s it,” she murmured, guiding you down inch by inch. “Look at you so fucking eager. Always such a needy little thing for Mommy’s cock, huh?”
You nodded as best you could, cheeks hollowing as you sucked, your tongue swirling over the length. Melissa’s breath hitched. She let you work for a few moments, watching with hooded eyes as you bobbed your head, spit pooling at the corners of your mouth. But then she got impatient. Her fingers tightened in your hair. And then she thrust.
You choked as she pushed herself deep, the tip slamming against the back of your throat, your eyes instantly watering. “Fuck, yeah,” Melissa groaned, her head falling back against the couch. “That’s more like it.”
She didn’t let you pull away. Didn’t let you catch your breath. Instead, she held you down, her grip firm as she fucked your throat — using your mouth like you were nothing but a toy, a wet, willing hole for her pleasure.
Tears streamed down your face as she pounded into your mouth, her hips lifting off the couch with each thrust, the harness rubbing against her clit in all the right ways. “God, listen to you,” she spat, her voice dripping with cruelty. “Fucking gagging around my cock like a dumb little bitch.”
You whined around her, throat tightening from the stretch, but the way she moaned at the sensation made it all worth it. “That’s all you’re good for, isn’t it?” she panted, dragging your head down until your nose was buried against her pelvis. “Just a fucking cock-hungry whore for Mommy.”
You whimpered, drool spilling down your chin, your throat raw and aching as she ruined you. Melissa’s grip tightened. Her thrusts grew erratic, her breath ragged. You knew she was close. And fuck, the thought of her coming from using your mouth like this - her pleasure entirely in her control - made your head spin.
Her hips snapped up one last time, pressing you down hard against her strap, the harness grinding perfectly against her clit. Then she came.
A low, guttural moan tore from her throat, her entire body tensing as she rode out her high, her thighs trembling from the intensity. She held you there, forcing you to take it, her cock still stuffed deep in your throat as she came down from her peak, her breathing uneven.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, she loosened her grip, letting you pull back just enough to gasp for air. Your chest heaved, spit and tears staining your cheeks, your lips puffy and swollen. Melissa looked down at you, her gaze heavy-lidded, possessive. Then she smirked. “Such a good little fucktoy for me,” she murmured, dragging her thumb over your ruined lips.
She tilted your chin up, forcing you to meet her gaze.
You were trembling.
Drool clung to your chin, your lips raw and swollen from how brutally Melissa had just used your mouth, and yet you needed more.
Melissa leaned back against the couch, breathing heavy, eyes hooded as she looked down at you. Her smirk was sharp, predatory. She reached down, dragging her fingers over your cheek, swiping at the spit that had dripped onto your skin.
“Messy little thing,” she murmured, her tone almost amused. “Can’t even suck cock without making a fucking mess of yourself.”
You whimpered at her words, thighs clenching together as heat pooled between them.
Melissa noticed.
Of course she noticed.
And she fucking laughed.
“Oh, baby,” she cooed mockingly, fingers trailing down your jaw. “Did that get you even wetter? Getting face-fucked like a useless little whore?”
You whined, nodding weakly, the humiliation only making the ache between your legs worse.
She sighed dramatically, as if she pitied you. “You’re fucking pathetic.”
Then she sat up, her fingers suddenly curling around the hem of your shirt.
“Get naked,” she ordered, her voice dropping into something darker. “Now.”
You scrambled to obey, desperate, stripping off your top before standing to shove down your shorts and underwear.
Melissa’s eyes darkened.
She reached down, picking up the soaked pair of panties you had just discarded, holding them up with two fingers. The fabric was absolutely drenched, glistening with your arousal.
She let out a slow, amused hum. “Jesus Christ. You’re actually disgusting.”
You swallowed thickly, squirming under her gaze.
Melissa smirked, standing up to her full height, towering over you as she dangled your soaked underwear in front of your face.
“Open your mouth.”
Your breath hitched, eyes going wide. “W-what?”
She cocked an eyebrow. “You heard me, slut.”
Your body acted before your mind could even catch up — your lips parting instantly, tongue peeking out just slightly as you obeyed.
Melissa grinned.
Then she shoved the ruined panties into your mouth.
The fabric was soaked, sticky against your tongue with the taste of yourself, and your thighs clenched together, a needy whimper escaping past the makeshift gag.
Melissa chuckled, stepping back to admire her work. “Much better. Can’t stand all your useless little noises.”
She ran her fingers down your chest, her nails scraping lightly over your skin as she trailed lower… lower…
Until she reached between your legs.
You gasped around the fabric as she cupped you, two fingers slipping through your soaked folds, gathering the wetness that had already started dripping down your thighs.
She pulled her hand back, holding her fingers up in front of your face — completely coated in your arousal.
Her eyes flicked up to meet yours.
“Fucking dripping,” she murmured, shaking her head. “And I haven’t even touched you yet.”
You whimpered, barely able to breathe as she slowly licked her fingers clean, humming as she tasted you.
Then she leaned in close, her breath hot against your ear as she whispered,
“Get in bed.”
You practically ran.
Your legs wobbled as you stumbled toward the bedroom, your heart pounding, your body burning, the fabric still stuffed in your mouth as you obeyed without question.
You climbed onto the bed, settling onto your back, your entire body thrumming with anticipation.
Melissa followed.
She stripped off the rest of her clothes as she entered the bedroom, her toned frame moving with effortless confidence, every inch of her radiating power.
And fuck, you could barely breathe.
She climbed onto the bed, spreading your legs with one knee as she settled over you, her strap-on brushing against your inner thigh, making you jolt.
Her fingers hooked into the soaked fabric in your mouth, slowly pulling it free, dragging it over your lips.
Then she smirked, brushing a thumb over your spit-soaked lips.
“Gonna be a good little fucktoy for Mommy?”
You nodded frantically, voice wrecked as you gasped,
“Yes, Mommy.”
Melissa grinned.
Melissa didn’t waste time.
The second she was lined up, she thrust into you, hard and fast, burying her cock to the hilt in one brutal motion. The stretch was overwhelming, your walls fluttering around the thick intrusion, your body struggling to adjust to the sheer size of her strap. A choked gasp ripped from your throat, your nails digging into the sheets as your back arched off the mattress.
Melissa groaned above you, rolling her hips to grind the strap in deeper, making you writhe beneath her. “Fuck, baby,” she murmured, her voice dripping with amusement. “You’re already clenching around me like a desperate little whore. What happened to all that fucking confidence?”
You whimpered, eyes fluttering shut as the burn of the stretch turned into something hotter, deeper—something that made your toes curl. Your hands scrambled for purchase, gripping at her arms, her back, anywhere you could reach, but Melissa was already setting a punishing pace.
She fucked you into the mattress, her hips snapping forward with each thrust, the bed creaking beneath you as she drove into you again and again. Your breasts bounced with the force of it, your nipples hard and aching from the friction, and Melissa’s gaze dropped, watching the way they moved with every snap of her hips.
“Goddamn,” she muttered, reaching out to grip your hip with one hand while the other slid up to your chest, her fingers catching one of your nipples between them. She rolled it roughly, tugging just enough to make you cry out. “So fucking sensitive. So easy to break.”
Your head tilted back, a strangled moan spilling from your lips as pleasure ripped through you, your body already teetering on the edge. The angle of her thrusts had her strap grinding perfectly against that spot inside you, making your thighs tremble, making your stomach tighten with that telltale coil of heat.
Melissa smirked, pressing her weight into you, forcing your legs higher, nearly folding you in half as she drove in deeper.
“Oh, you like this, don’t you?” she taunted, her breath hot against your ear. “Like being bent and fucked like a stupid little ragdoll?”
You could only nod, eyes hazy, lips parted as desperate little moans escaped with every thrust.
She leaned back slightly, her hands gripping the backs of your thighs as she spread you open wider, exposing just how wrecked you were. A sharp slap landed against your inner thigh, making you jolt, making your walls clamp down around the thick length filling you.
“Look at you,” she sneered. “Fucking dripping down my cock. You that desperate to be bred, huh? Too bad sluts like you don’t fucking deserve it.”
The words made your entire body seize up, a whimper catching in your throat as your hips bucked involuntarily.
Melissa laughed.
“Oh, baby,” she cooed mockingly, slowing her thrusts just enough to tease you, rolling her hips in deep, deliberate strokes that made your breath hitch. “That got you even wetter. You really are a filthy little whore.”
You whined, your hands reaching up in desperation—grabbing at her breasts, squeezing them, tugging at her nipples just the way you knew she liked.
Melissa hissed, her hips stuttering for just a moment before she let out a low, wrecked groan. “Fucking brat,” she growled, her grip tightening on your thighs before she slammed back into you with renewed force, pounding into you so hard the headboard knocked against the wall.
Your entire body jolted with every thrust, your breasts bouncing, your vision blurring from how deep she was.
“Mommy—fuck, Mommy!”
Melissa groaned at the way you wailed her title, her pace growing rougher, meaner, determined to make you scream for her.
“Cum for me,” she ordered, her voice thick with pleasure as she rutted against you, the harness grinding against her clit with every movement. “Be a good fucking toy and cum on Mommy’s cock.”
You snapped.
Pleasure exploded through you, white-hot and all-consuming as your orgasm tore through your body. Your walls clenched around her cock, your thighs shaking violently as wave after wave of ecstasy crashed over you.
Melissa groaned as the harness pressed perfectly against her clit, her hips stuttering as she came, a deep, wrecked moan spilling from her lips as she ground against you, riding out both of your highs.
For a long moment, the only sound in the room was heavy breathing— the sheets damp with sweat, your body boneless beneath her.
Melissa pulled back slightly, brushing her fingers over your flushed cheek, her smirk lazy, satisfied.
“You really thought you could win that bet?” she teased.
You let out a weak, breathless laugh. “I—I tried…”
Melissa chuckled, shaking her head. “Not hard enough, baby.”
Then she rolled her hips again, pushing back into you, her smirk widening as you gasped.
“Guess that just means I get to keep using you until I’m done.”
Before you could even catch your breath, she was flipping you onto your stomach, pressing your face into the damp sheets. Her palm splayed against your back, keeping you pinned as she shifted behind you, spreading your legs apart with her knees.
“Fuckin’ filthy,” she muttered, dragging the slick head of her strap through your folds, smearing your arousal. “Look at this mess. You made a goddamn mess all over my cock, and you still think you’re done?”
You whimpered, shifting your hips instinctively, already feeling the deep ache of oversensitivity creeping in. But Melissa just laughed, her fingers trailing up your spine before gripping the nape of your neck.
“Stay still,” she ordered, her voice thick with amusement. “Mommy’s not done playin’ with you yet.”
A sharp slap landed against your ass, making you jolt, your walls fluttering around nothing. You barely had time to process the sting before her fingers slid lower, pressing against the tight ring of muscle that had never been stretched for her before.
Melissa groaned, her breath hot as she leaned down, lips brushing against your ear.
“You ever had your ass fucked, baby?” she taunted, rubbing slow circles around the tight muscle. “Or am I the first one who gets to ruin you?”
Your breath hitched, your face burning as you shook your head weakly.
Melissa chuckled darkly. “That’s what I thought.”
She spat onto her fingers before pressing one inside, working you open, making you whine and squirm beneath her. But she was relentless—stroking, teasing, stretching you inch by inch while you writhed, overwhelmed by the foreign pressure.
“Goddamn, you’re tight,” she groaned, her other hand wrapping around your throat, squeezing just enough to make your breath stutter. “Gonna take my cock like a good little fucktoy, aren’t you?”
You could only moan in response, your body trembling as she finally pulled her fingers away, replacing them with the thick head of her strap.
Melissa didn’t ease you into it.
She thrust forward in one brutal stroke, forcing the fat length inside you, stretching you so wide your body locked up. The burn was instant, a choked sob catching in your throat as your fingers clawed at the sheets.
Melissa groaned at the way your ass clenched around her cock, her grip on your throat tightening as she pressed her weight against you, keeping you trapped beneath her.
“Jesus fuck,” she growled, rolling her hips, grinding the thick silicone deeper. “You feel that, baby? Feel how my cock’s splitting you open?”
You were wrecked, your body struggling to adjust, tears pricking at the corners of your eyes. But the pain only made the pleasure sharper, more intoxicating, sending heat pooling in your gut.
Melissa smirked, her other hand snatching your wrists, pinning them behind your back as she set a punishing pace.
She fucked you rough and deep, using your body like you were nothing more than a hole for her pleasure. Each thrust sent shocks of sensation up your spine, the slick sound of her strap driving into your ass echoing through the room.
“Fucking pathetic,” she sneered, her grip tightening as she pounded into you. “Letting me fuck your ass like a desperate little bitch. You like this, don’t you?”
You sobbed out a broken moan, nodding as your body trembled beneath her.
“Of course you do,” she spat, slamming her hips against yours. “You’re nothing but a filthy fucking slut, taking whatever I give you.”
Her fingers curled around your throat, squeezing just enough to make your vision blur at the edges, your walls clenching involuntarily around her strap.
“Cum,” she ordered, her voice rough, demanding. “Cum while I fuck your ass, you worthless little whore.”
And fuck—you did.
Your orgasm crashed over you like a tidal wave, your body locking up, your walls fluttering wildly as pleasure wracked every nerve ending. Your vision went white, your mouth open in a silent scream as Melissa groaned behind you, grinding her cock in deep as she chased her own high.
She shuddered above you, the harness rubbing perfectly against her clit, dragging her over the edge as she let out a deep, wrecked moan. “Fuck—” She cursed, her grip on your wrists tightening, her body shuddering as she came, her moan low and wrecked, hips grinding against yours, drawing out every last wave of pleasure.
Melissa let out a slow, satisfied sigh as she finally pulled out, leaving you wrecked and trembling beneath her. She chuckled, trailing her fingers down your spine, watching as you shivered at her touch. “You did so good for me, baby,” she murmured, her voice still thick with arousal. “But I’m not fucking done with you yet.”
She reached down, undoing the straps of the harness, letting it drop to the floor. You barely had time to recover before she grabbed your chin, tilting your face up toward her, her blue eyes dark and hungry.
“You wanna taste Mommy?” she taunted, dragging her fingers over your swollen lips, smearing the remnants of your own pleasure across them. “Wanna clean me up like a good little slut?”
You moaned softly, your tongue darting out to taste her fingers, desperate and eager. Melissa smirked, guiding you onto your back before crawling up your body with slow, deliberate movements. She straddled your chest first, her bare thighs framing your vision, her heat so close you could already smell how wet she was.
“Look at you,” she mused, running a hand through your messy hair. “So fucking desperate to eat Mommy’s pussy.” You nodded frantically, hands instinctively gripping her thighs, squeezing the firm muscles as you tried to pull her closer.
Melissa chuckled, indulging you just enough to lower herself, letting her wet heat brush against your lips but not quite giving you what you wanted. “Beg me,” she ordered, her voice firm.
“Please, Mommy,” you whined, your voice muffled against her. “Wanna taste you... need to taste you.” That was all she needed. She sank down onto your mouth, grinding against your eager tongue with a low, satisfied groan.
The moment you got your first taste of her, you moaned into her cunt, wrapping your arms around her thighs to hold her in place as you licked and sucked with unrestrained hunger.
Melissa hissed, rolling her hips, forcing you to take her deeper. “That’s it, baby,” she praised, her fingers threading into your hair, tugging just enough to make you whimper. “God, your mouth was fucking made for this.”
You groaned happily, the vibrations making her gasp above you. She was already soaked, her slick coating your tongue as you lapped her up, circling her clit before dipping lower, fucking your tongue into her. Melissa shuddered, her thighs tightening around your head. “Oh, fuck—” she gasped, her voice breaking into something raw and needy.
You didn’t stop. You couldn’t.
You flicked your tongue over her swollen clit, sucking it between your lips as she rocked against your face, using you, chasing her high. Melissa’s breath hitched, her grip on your hair tightening as she lost herself in the pleasure. “Just like that,” she groaned. “Don’t fucking stop, baby.”
You moaned into her, your tongue relentless, your hands digging into her thighs as you held her there, determined to drown in her. Melissa let out a wrecked, broken moan, her movements getting sloppier, her thighs trembling. “Fuck—fuck, baby, I’m gonna—”
And then she snapped. Her entire body tensed as she came hard, her hips jerking against your mouth, her moan turning into a choked, breathless cry.
You kept licking, drinking in everything she gave you, letting her ride out her orgasm against your tongue. Finally, she collapsed forward, catching herself with one shaky hand against the headboard, her chest rising and falling with ragged breaths.
She smirked down at you, brushing her thumb over your spit-slicked lips. “Such a good little toy for me,” she murmured, her voice laced with satisfaction.
Then, with a wicked glint in her eyes, she rolled her hips again, dragging her soaked cunt over your face. “Think you can make me cum again?” she teased, grinding down. You moaned in response, tongue darting out eagerly. Melissa chuckled, biting her lip as she settled in. “That’s my good girl.”
And fuck—she was going to use you all night.

Share Your Address
based on Ben Platt's "Share Your Address", and my rendition of the song is attached! Please enjoy!
Summary: Melissa is intoxicating. It might be too soon, but you want everything that has to do with her.
WC: 5k
You had never planned on meeting Melissa Schemmenti, much less falling for her. But just like that, she waltzed her way into your life just a month ago at the bar. As you’ve learned, she’s also someone who almost never lets her guard down. The same would go for you- always guarded and hesitant to let anybody into your life. It’s done you wrong before. For someone who always had your walls up around you, you fell hard for that redhead. You’re not quite sure you could pin any one thing that made you fall for her as hard as you did, and you’re only continuing to fall. There’s just something about her that’s so intoxicating. Maybe it’s her sweet and somehow simultaneously musty perfume, or the way that her shiny red hair always perfectly frames her face. It might be the way that she has that sparkling Hollywood smile without even trying, or the fact that she is quite literally everything that you’ve always dreamed of- hardheaded, not afraid to speak her mind- she’s always got that hint of sarcasm and fire to her. Or maybe it’s just that she’s Melissa, and she has an absolutely addictive personality. Whatever it is about the second grade teacher at Abbott Elementary, you can’t get her out of your head.
Darling you might think it’s too soon, but I can’t get you out of my head now. Picturing myself in your room, and I wanna be with you ’til I’m dead now.
It’s been a month, and in that month, you and Melissa have been practically inseparable. After work, you’re with her and cooking dinner or treating her to a nice night out on the town. You end up in her bed quite a few times. On Saturdays, the two of you will go out to the club and relieve what you truly believe might’ve been the highlight of your life- meeting her. On Sundays, you soak in the peace and quiet, taking every breath and mentally preparing yourselves for the next week.
And if you aren’t together, you’re texting. You tease Melissa about the fact that she should probably be teaching her students, but she dismisses your concern and promises you that they’re working on an independent project- they’ll get her attention if they need her.
The truth is, you just can’t get the redheaded second grade teacher out of your head- you’re falling for her, and you’re falling for her fast and hard. It might be too quick to judge, but there’s something special about her. Just like when you were younger and more naive, you picture yourself in her room. You daydream about the things you would do to her if you were with her at the moment. And when your imagination becomes a bit over the top, you have to leave your cubicle and take a few laps around the building to cool down those rather steamy thoughts you’re having. But then, of course, she texts you again- and once again, you feel like you’re on fire.
You want Melissa Schemmenti until you are no longer on this earth. If you spent your last few breathing moments with her, you’re fairly certain it would be worth it- a life well lived.
I want your friends to be my friends. I’ll make you breakfast in your bed. I want it all with you. And if I’m coming on too strong, it’s ‘cause I’ve waited far too long for someone just like you.
It’s only been a month, but here you are with Melissa, and you’re making breakfast that the two of you are planning to enjoy in bed. Now, usually she would never condone that- it took her long enough to begin eating on her plastic covered couch (and you’ve somehow managed to convince her to take it off… sex on a couch covered in plastic is not something you ever wish to experience again). But she’s willing to make an exception for you; you seem to be the exception to everything she ever thought she knew in life.
“You’re so sexy when you cook in my clothes,” Melissa wraps her arms around your waist and kisses the slope of your neck. Her right hand swiftly trails down your body to grab your ass. “God.”
“You’re ridiculous,” you chuckle quietly. “I’m sure you look way hotter in it.”
You feel her rather than hear her refute that claim as she shakes her head into your back.
The two of you settle on her bed with a wonderful spread of breakfast and coffee. Somehow, she’s managed to fix your cup of coffee to perfection. Of course she knows how you prefer your coffee- it’s one of the first things she learned about you.
It’s a warm, still somewhat sleepy haze that you’re in when her phone begins to ring. She glances at the caller ID and sighs before flipping her phone over on the nightstand. You had just so happened to catch a look at it, and you know her work wife won’t be too thrilled if she doesn’t answer.
“You can answer it,” you say through a mouthful of eggs. “It’s okay, hun.”
The redhead quirks her lips to the side but relents, although she makes it quite clear to you that she’s not appreciating the fact that your little bubble has been burst. She does pick up the phone though.
“What, Barb? It’s nine in the morning.”
“Well, good morning to you too, Melissa,” the kindergarten teacher quips. “I was just calling to see if we were still good for lunch today?”
Green eyes look over to you. You nod with a smile before mouthing, ‘Hang out with Barb. It’s okay.’
“We are,” the redhead grumbles. “Can I go back to bed now?”
“Oh, you were still asleep! I’m sorry; I just figured you would already be up,” Barbara apologizes.
“I’ll see you at noon,” the redhead next to you sighs out. “Bye.”
Melissa hangs up the phone before placing her phone back down. She turns to you. “I forgot about lunch with Barb,” she admits quietly, knowing that the two of you had made plans to walk around the city today.
“It’s fine, hun,” you promise her. “You deserve to go have fun with her. Although…” you trail off as you debate whether you want to voice your thoughts or not.
“What?”
“I would love to meet her, and the others in your group,” you tell her softly. “I- I know it’s soon, but I have a feeling this could be something, and I would love to be able to meet them.”
The redhead gives you a warm smile- not what you had expected from her. “I think that would be nice. How would you feel about joining me an’ Barb for lunch today?”
“Really?” you ask softly. “You’re up for that? I was- I was nervous that I was coming on too strong.”
Melissa pulls you in for a soft, sweet kiss. “What you feel for me, I feel for you. An’ I don’t know why, but I’m absolutely crazy about you.”
“Good,” you sigh with relief. “I’m sorry if I come off as too strong, but I- I’ve waited far too long for someone like you to come into my life.”
“A hot mess?” the redhead teases.
You roll your eyes. “Someone who is as beautiful and as sexy as you while having a quick and brilliant mind.”
“Shut up.”
“Make me.”
You do. Breakfast is forgotten until after you shut her up.
And so you join your… well, she does introduce you to her work wife as her girlfriend- you join your girlfriend for lunch. And Barbara is nothing but elegant and kind to you, just as Melissa said she would be- she ensures that you’re always a part of the conversation while Melissa fills in the missing pieces of their stories and conversation for you.
And come a week later, on a Friday, you’re able to leave your own place of employment an hour early to meet your girlfriend at her coworkers’ favorite bar for happy hour.
The Abbott crew welcomes you with open arms, just as Melissa had told you they would.
I want a key to your house. I wanna pick up your clothes. I wanna clean up your mess. I wanna know where you hide things, wanna be in your photos, wanna share your address. I know, I know it’s too soon, too fast, but this could last. I wanna share your address. I know, I know it- it feels like love, so let’s shack up. I wanna share your address.
It’s been two months now that you’ve been seeing Melissa. And you can only find yourself falling for her more and more. It’s not what you had expected in the slightest when you first met her at the bar. In all honesty, you were expecting a one night stand at best, not to still be here with this beautiful woman two months later and officially dating.
You spend more time in Melissa’s house than your own apartment at this point- the redhead’s house feels more like home to you than your apartment ever has. You have a drawer reserved for you, a toothbrush for the nights that you spend with her, and you’ve made a little space for yourself on the nightstand on what you think of as your side of the bed.
The second grade teacher is out and grocery shopping by the time you wake up on this lazy Saturday. You know she’s already out, because there’s an index card propped up on her pillow that tells you exactly where she is, when she expects to be back, and it’s signed with a heart.
You’re exhausted from this week. but you know that you should probably get out of bed for the day. By the time you make your way down the steps, the aroma of the coffee that your girlfriend had made has you practically running for the pot.
Once you’ve finished your coffee, you glance around the living room, and there are various articles of both of your clothes from last night’s escapades. Your cheeks flush at the mere thought of what had taken place last night, and a dopey smile washes over your face.
With a sigh, you begin to pick up both yours and Melissa’s clothes, following the trail of pants, shirts, and undergarments back into the bedroom. You can’t help but chuckle at how desperate the two of you were after you got back from the bar. You toss them into her laundry basket and bring it down the steps with you on your hip. As you’re emptying the things into the washing machine, you see a glimmer of something hiding behind the big piece of metal. Curiosity gets the best of you, and you look. It’s a club- of course it is. Leave it to your girlfriend to think about needing a weapon if she was ever doing her laundry. You roll your eyes in good nature before depositing detergent into the machine and turning it on.
As you make your way back up into the living room, you can’t help but notice the abundance of pictures that the redhead has in her house, all in beautiful frames. There’s something about it that makes you want to be in her photographs. You’re sure you’ll get there someday, maybe when you share an address with her.
You’ve just settled onto the couch when you hear Melissa fiddling with the front door. In an instant, you’re back on your feet and letting her in before heading out and managing to juggle the last few bags from her shopping trip.
“Thank you,” your girlfriend smiles at you when you return. She’s already unpacking the various bags when something catches your eye. It’s a picture frame that she just bought.
“That’s pretty,” you comment quietly. “Whose picture is going in there?”
Melissa smiles and then pulls out an envelope. “Ours.”
Your heart swells in your chest. “I- I know it’s a bit soon to be saying this, and I don’t expect you to say it back, but: I love you.”
You’re immediately pulled into a warm kiss. “I love you too,” she murmurs as she rests her forehead against yours.
I just wanna stare at your face, and spend quality time with your mother. We can over drink at your favorite place, and we can waste the whole next day to recover.
You meet the Schemmenti family about six weeks into dating. And Melissa’s mother is an absolute delight. It’s clear as day who your girlfriend takes after in both looks and personality. Mathilde, but she insists you call her Tillie, is a lively woman with a bright personality and a tendency to be sarcastic and fiery. And while she has that bite to her, much like your girlfriend, she has a softer and warmer side that she shows you once she sees how in love you are with her daughter- you rarely take your eyes off of that bright and happy face now that she’s in the comfort of her mother’s home. She’s- she’ stunning; there’s no other way to put it.
Melissa is in the bathroom when Tillie finally asks you, “Why my Melly?”
“I should’ve known you would ask that,” you chuckle as you sip your wine. “She’s home. It’s as simple as that.”
“It’s funny,” the older woman breathes out. “Melly said the same about you.”
From that day on, you and Tillie spend a lot of time together. From Sunday dinners with the Schemmenti family, to a nice lunch if you have a day off, you find that you and your girlfriend’s mother get along quite well. It doesn’t take long for her to quietly confide in you that Melissa is head over heels in love with you- something that she’s never seen before, even with her ex-husband.
The act of over drinking at her favorite place takes often more than you’d really care to admit. But there’s one night where the two of you end up absolutely obliterated, and you truly have to take all of Saturday to recover from your wicked hangovers.
It all started when Jacob suggested that the Abbott crew go out for a happy hour on a Friday. And for some reason, Barbara agrees and convinces your girlfriend to tag along. Because the two of you were supposed to go out tonight together, she begs you to join the school crew for a few drinks.
A few drinks turns into a crazy night. It starts out tame enough, a beer or two. But then Ava shows up, claims that the place that you’re at is far too boring, and she escorts all of you to a skanky dive bar- the one that the two of you met in actually.
“This is our bar,” your girlfriend nudges you. “Who woulda thought that Ava would like a place like this.”
“The stickier the bar, the better,” the principal tells her, having heard the redhead’s comment.
You don’t even remember how you got back to Melissa’s house. The last thing you can somewhat string together is dancing with your girlfriend and giggling as Barbara brought over another round of shots for your group. That one did you in.
You wake with a groan. God, your head is pounding. And if you’re feeling this way, you don’t even want to guess how Melissa is feeling.
Your stomach turns, and you bolt for the bathroom. Before you know it, your girlfriend is right there with you, emptying the contents of her stomach into the trashcan beside you.
“Oh my god,” you groan out as you flush the toilet.
“You’re tellin’ me,” Melissa whines as she closes up the bag and reaches for the mouthwash. “I’m never drinking again.”
“Neither am I,” you grumble as you reach for the bottle once she’s finished with it.
With a few grunts, you manage to pick yourself up off the floor before assisting your girlfriend up too. The two of you just barely make it back to bed before your hand dives into the nightstand on your side and you pull out the Advil. You shake a few pills into your hand before offering Melissa the bottle. She follows suit, and then you’re swallowing them with the little bit of water that still remains in your water bottle.
You spend most of the day asleep, and it takes you until approximately four in the afternoon to even slightly feel like a human. Your girlfriend drags you to the couch before she sluggishly makes her way into the kitchen. She comes back with a plate full of food.
“Lis, if I eat now, I will hurl again.”
“Just eat, she grumbles as she takes a bite of a cracker. “Soak up the booze with carbs.”
“I’m never drinking again,” you grumble as you force yourself to eat a few pieces of toast.
“Neither am I,” Melissa promises herself.
Of course, the next weekend, you’re out at the bars again.
I wanna watch you while you sleep. I know I might sound like a creep, but I can’t help myself. And it’s so easy to forget that we’ve barely even met, but I want no one else.
It’s one of those rare days where you wake up before Melissa on a Saturday morning. Her soft snores fill the room, her hair is splayed out underneath of her, and there’s a hint of a smile dancing on her lips as she dreams. You only hope that she’s dreaming of you.
You know it might come off as a little creepy, maybe odd, but you find yourself just studying her face as you lay there with her. She’s like an angel- your redheaded, fiery, angel. Her eyes open slowly, and she blearily blinks away the sleep. Warm, green eyes find yours.
“Good morning,” you whisper as you kiss her nose.
She giggles just slightly before pulling herself closer to you. “It is a good morning when I wake up with you.”
You just continue to hold her close to you and drink in the wonderfully delicious haze of this sleepy morning.
In that moment, you realize that you wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. In bed with your beautiful girlfriend- the one, you think quietly to yourself. You know that the two of you haven’t been together nearly long enough to fully know if she’s the one you want to be with for the rest of your life. They say that if a couple stays together for more than two years, they’ve hashed it all out, and that seems to be the threshold that a lot of couples seem to struggle to make it to, but there’s a gut feeling that you have about her. You have a feeling that you’ll make it to that two year mark, and then a long while after that if you’re lucky.
It’s a Thursday that you’re supposed to go to your girlfriend’s house for dinner when she calls you while you’re clocking out of work.
“Hey, babe,” you answer with a smile.
“Hey.” You can tell immediately that Melissa is not in a good mood. “So, I know we’re supposed to have dinner tonight at my house.”
“But?” you prompt quietly, and you can’t quite hide the sadness in your voice.
“One of my kiddos, Sharmia, her mom is gonna be late picking her up. By like… three hours- won’t get back into the city until six at the earliest, and that’s if she doesn’t hit any traffic.”
“Oh,” you sigh softly. “Hey, that’s okay. I know you want to be there for her, and she’s more important.”
“Thank you for understanding,” your girlfriend says quietly into the phone. “I knew you would.”
“Of course I do,” you tell her. “What if I stopped by the school and brought dinner for all of us? And then I can just come over with you once she’s picked up.”
“You don’t have to do that,” the redhead says, although she’s hoping you insist. Today has been rough enough as it is, and now she’s stuck in the school for longer than she’d like to be.
“I don’t have to, but I want to,” you promise. “I can’t say that Wawa's will be nearly as good as what we were going to cook up tonight, but… it’s something.”
“Thank you.”
You pull up to the school just a little while later with hoagies and drinks in hand and call to let her know you’re at Abbott.
Only about thirty seconds later is your girlfriend and her student pushing open the door for you to enter.
Sharmia’s mother ends up coming to the school at 6:30, apologizing profusely for keeping the two of you at the school and waiting for so long. Melissa just waves her off, telling her she would do it if it meant Sharmia was safe.
They leave, and then you and your girlfriend are walking out of the school hand in hand. You pull up to her house in record timing.
“I’m sorry you couldn’t just let yourself in,” Melissa tells you as she unlocks the front door and pushes it open.
“Hey,” you get her attention quietly with a squeeze to her hand. “It’s no big deal. I still got to spend time with you.”
“Yeah,” Melissa sighs. “But I’m sure you would’ve rather been able to come here and relax with a glass of wine instead of sitting in Abbott with me eating Wawa.”
“You know I’m a slut for a good Wawa hoagie,” you joke. “It’s not a big deal.”
“Still,” your girlfriend sighs as she drops to the couch. She kicks off her shoes. “Jesus, I’m exhausted.”
You hum your agreement.
It’s an early night for the two of you, in bed and asleep by nine. Her chin is tucked into the crook of your neck, your arms keeping her against you to keep warm.
And come Saturday, the two of you are doing your rounds of shopping. She stops in front of the key making machine and inserts her key.
“What are you doing?” you furrow a brow.
Melissa smiles at you. “I’m making you a key… that way if I have another late night or you need something and I’m not there, you can just let yourself in.”
Slowly, your things make their way to Melissa’s house, and it’s fair to say that you practically live with her. You do still have your apartment though, in case something goes awry between the two of you and you need a place.
But your clothes intermingle with hers, you picking up her clothes and tossing them into the laundry with your own.
It warms your heart to know that there isn’t much your girlfriend hides form you at this point. You know where most of her weapons scattered around the house are- you always discover them with a chuckle.
More pictures of the two of you begin to litter the flat surfaces in the house, and you’re included in a few family photos with the entire Schemmenti clan. There’s even a picture of the Abbott clan with you in it.
The longer that you stay with Melissa, the more you become fairly certain that you truly will end up with her in your life forever, and this house will become yours too.
I wanna be your emergency contact. You can put me down ‘cause you know I know you best (I know you best). It doesn’t matter where I go without you I’ll never be home. I wanna share your address.
“Do you really have to go?” you ask your girlfriend after she tells you about the upcoming PECSA conference.
“I do,” Melissa sighs softly. “But it’s only for a weekend, and I’ll be fine. Other than that one PECSA weekend, I’ve been fine.”
“What happened at this one weekend?” you ask with an amused smirk.
The redhead’s cheeks tint pink. “I may have broken my wrist after I took a tumble.”
“Melissa!”
“It was a couple years ago, and I’m fine.”
“Mel, if something like that happens again,” you take her hand gently in yours.
“You’ll be my first call,” she promises. “Well, after Barb if she ain’t with me.”
“Okay,” you sigh. “Just please… try not to break another bone, especially if I’m not already with you.”
“Trust me,” your girlfriend rolls her eyes. “I’m really going to try to not break another bone. That shit hurt like a bitch.”
She pulls out her phone, and after a few taps, you’re listed as her emergency contact on her phone. “See? You’ll be the first person to be called if I can’t call myself.”
“You’re ridiculous,” you fold your arms with a loving smile.
Melissa shrugs. “Yeah, and you love me.”
“You’re lucky I do.”
When PECSA weekend rolls around, you hate how alone you feel. You attempt to keep yourself busy, but it’s weird not being with your girlfriend. She’s constantly texting you about all of the fun things that she’s doing though, and it makes you happy to know she’s having a good time. Even though she told you that you were more than welcome to stay at her house over the weekend, and you do, it doesn’t feel like home the way it does when she’s with you. Home isn’t her house, you realize with a soft sigh. Home is wherever she. When she doesn’t end up calling you because she broke her wrist again, you sigh a breath of relief. And as soon as she walks through that front door and pulls you into a tight hug, you feel the energy in the room shift. You’re home again.
I wanna be your emergency contact. You can put me down ‘cause you know I know you best (I know you best). It doesn’t matter where I go without you I’ll never be home. I wanna share your address.
You’re sitting at work when you get a phone call from your girlfriend. That’s odd- she should be standing outside at recess duty, not calling you.
“Hello?” you answer, voice laced with concern.
“Hun,” Melissa’s voice sounds a bit panicked. “I- I took a fall out on the recess yard.”
“Shit, are you okay?” you ask, although it’s clear from her tone alone that she isn’t.
“N-no,” she stutters out. “Barb’s gettin’ ready to take me to the ER now, but I- I wanted to let you know.”
“Shit,” you mutter as you close your laptop and begin to gather your things. “What hospital?”
“Jefferson,” she gasps out. “I- I definitely broke my ankle, hun.”
“Okay,” you sigh into the phone. “Okay, hold tight, babe. I’ll be there soon.”
“Thank you,” she whispers out.
“I love you,” you tell her before hanging up. You march yourself down to your boss’s office and let him know you’re heading out- family emergency. He just nods, and that’s all you need to sprint out of the office and out to your car.
When you get to the hospital, Barbara heads in your direction. “She broke it. They have her pretty drugged up right now, just a warning.”
You just give her a tight lipped nod before making your way into the room they have Melissa in.
“I told ya I’d call if I ever got hurt,” the redhead smirks, although her words are quite slurred.
You roll your eyes and make your way over to her, kissing her softly. “What the hell were you doing that you broke your ankle?”
“Janine challenged me to a monkey bar race,” your girlfriend tells you. “Hey, have I ever told you how beautiful you are, mi amore?”
“Idiot,” you grumble, but there’s a smile on your face. “You can be so stupid.”
“Yeah,” Melissa grins dopily. “Stupid in love with you.”
It’s only a year into dating that Melissa asks you to move in with her officially.
“Really?” you ask her.
Your girlfriend gives you a look that tells you she’s being serious, and you’re ridiculous for even questioning it. “Hun, you practically live here as it is. You have a key, you’re rarely ever at your apartment anymore, all of your stuff is here. I hav nothing to hide from you, your picture is all over this house. Why don’t we just…spare you the rent and share an address?”
“You don’t think it’s too soon? Too fast?” you ask her. You know that the two of you have thrown caution to the wind throughout most of this relationship, but still- moving in together officially is a big step.
She shakes her head. “If I thought we were moving too fast, do you think I would’ve asked you to move in?”
“If you’re serious, then yes. I’d love to actually move in with you.”
“Can I ask you one more question?” your girlfriend asks.
“Shoot.”
“So if we’re sharing an address, do you want to share a last name too?” Melissa drops to her knee.

Alright, here's the next part of Just Tired and of course it ends on a big cliffhanger. Also I know what you're thinking, did I get distracted by the gif for 5 minutes? The answer is yes. Not edited in the slightest and I hope you like it!
On another note: I posted the first chapter of Worth It exactly a year ago, today and made a little thank you message that you can read here.

Just Tired - Part 28
Warnings: Manipulative Relationship (Mentioned), Smut, cliffhanger
Words: 4.5k
Melissa ends up directing you to a deli where she orders two Italian hoagies for you both where Barb and Gerald also join. You’re all sitting on a picnic bench outside at a park that was near all eating your hoagies.
“So Melissa, now you’re gonna have the house back, getting some money from him and he can’t ever go near you unless he wants to get arrested. How does that feel?” You ask her and she smiles.
“It feels really good. I never thought how fast my life can change in two months but I’ve honestly never been happier. I mean 2 months ago I was in a manipulative relationship, unhappy without knowing why, didn’t know I could be into women, haven’t had much fun, as well as the sex was terrible.” She says and Barb chokes a bit on her drink at the last part.
“Oh come on Barb, don’t tell me you’re a prude.” You tell her.
“I’m not a prude, I’m a woman of god.” Barb tells you proudly.
“Isn’t that the same thing?” You ask and Melissa starts laughing.
“Melissa is religious as well.” Barb points out.
“Melissa doesn’t consider herself a woman of god. Also she’s Sicilian so I don’t think anything phases her anymore.” You counter.
“That’s a good point.” Melissa says and then she continues eating her hoagie.
“How was last night at the karaoke place?” Gerald asks you both.
“Melissa made out with a psycho.” You tell them and Melissa looks at you with an amused expression as she tries not to laugh.
“Well I guess that’s one way to describe it.” Melissa says.
“That’s the only way to describe it.” You counter and Melissa chuckles.
“I didn’t know she was a psycho until Y/n told me as she got warned by the bartender who you’re also going out with next weekend.” Melissa explains.
“She came onto me after we crushed that ABBA song.” You say. “And yes she warned me about Wendy.”
“So is everyone excited about Halloween tomorrow?” Barb asks and you shake your head.
“I don’t know if I’ll survive Melissa’s costume.” You confess and Melissa is smiling.
“You won’t.” Melissa simply says and takes a proud bite of her hoagie.
“Well I don’t see how anyone would survive a hot redhead dressing up as Mera.” You tell her and Melissa just shrugs.
“You’ll have to see me from across the hall all day.” Melissa teases you and you groan. “And I’ll make sure to keep my door open all day.”
“What if I close my door?”
“Be real, for whatever odd reason you never close your door.”
“I want to be welcoming to anyone.” You say.
“Hon, if people at school don’t already know that then they haven’t been paying attention to you.” Melissa tells you and you shrug.
“Unlike you, most teachers haven’t been paying attention to me and the 20 other newbies that started this year.”
“I normally don’t pay attention to newbies but you just didn’t care and kept trying. How many of you newbies are left anyway?” She asks and you count.
“Well about 8 left already.” You say and she hums.
“Not surprising.” She says.
“Is that why you didn’t want to talk to me? Thought I’d leave?” You ask her and she nods.
“You seem too positive to last here but I could be wrong.” She tells you.
“I’m not as positive as Janine though, she’s more positive than I am.”
“Thank god you’re not that annoying.” She says and then takes the last bit of her hoagie. “I don’t know how you stand, not just Janine, but Jacob as well.” She tells you as she cleans her hands with a napkin.
“They actually have pretty interesting conversations.” You tell her and she hums.
“If you say so.” She tells you and you roll your eyes before you finish your hoagie.
Half an hour later Barb and Gerald take Melissa home so everyone can get ready for the work week. When you’re getting into bed, your phone gets a notification and you look at it to see Melissa texted you.
Melissa: I really want to thank you as you helped me win
You: It’s not a problem, I love that you got your freedom
You text her that before you put your head on your pillow and you’re out like a light.
The next morning Melissa wakes up with a big smile on her face. She’s breaking free from her manipulative husband, she’s getting the house, and money from him and she has you to thank for it. She then frowns when she remembers that she’s fallen for you and she does want to be with you but the idea of being in a relationship already terrifies her.
“Hey everyone.” You say as you walk in the break room. Melissa then walks in the break room and your mouth goes dry. There she is in the green bodysuit and her hair has looser curls then it usually has with the little crown on. She also did her makeup the same way as they did for Amber Heard and your eyes trail up and down her body.
“Hey hon.” She tells you.
“Wow.” You say and she smiles.
“Shamelessly checking me out, hon?” She whispers to you and you nod. “Check me out all you want.” She tells you and your eyes trail down to her chest where they’re only half covered.
“And you were worried my costume was going to be too sexy.” You tell her and she gives you a wink.
“I like your sexy police uniform, officer. If we were still having sex then I’d definitely act naughty just so you’d tie me up and punish me.” She tells you with a seductive whisper and your mind blanks.
“Ya the timing is unfortunate.” You tell her and she smiles.
“Soak it all up. And I might masturbate with you in my mind tonight.” She says quietly as she passes you and goes to sit down. You go and sit down with Janine and Jacob and they compliment your outfit.
“It was my costume from last year but I didn’t have enough money to get a new one this year, but I’ll definitely get a new one next year.” You tell them.
“Well we didn’t see this was your outfit last year so technically it’s new here.” Jacob tells you and you smile and nod.
“Thanks Jacob.” You tell him and he smiles before you all jump into conversations.
You watch as she greets her students from across the hall and how some of the parents are checking her out, as well as some of the seventh and eighth grade boys. You start the class by going over the homework you assigned to them to do over the weekend and you cast a glance at Melissa who’s bending over slightly to grab some papers at her desk. She catches you checking her out and she smiles at you. At lunch you drop your kids off at the caf and when you walk out, Melissa grabs your hand and drags you to her classroom.
“What are you doing?” You ask her as you reach her classroom and you see she brought both of your lunches with her.
“I want us to have lunch together, just the two of us.” She tells you and you smile. “So you think I look sexy?” She asks you as she takes a seat and you nod. She passes you your lunchbox and you take your lunch out and start eating.
“I mean have you seen yourself? Your tits are practically out and I can’t help but stare at them, especially when I know how they look without anything on them.” You say and she chuckles. “And this tight bodysuit on you is showing off all your curves and green is definitely your colour. Like jesus christ is it ever your colour.” You tell her and she smiles. “Why did you want to have lunch with me, like just me?” You ask her.
“I wanted to thank you for how much you’ve helped me in these past 2 months. And I know it hasn’t been easy for you.” She tells you. You go to speak but she stops you. “And don’t you dare start saying that it hasn’t been easy on me since I’m the one that escaped the bastard.” She says and you immediately close your mouth as that’s exactly what you were gonna say. “I know I’m the one who escaped but you’ve helped me so much and I really appreciate it.” She adds and you smile.
“Well, you’re welcome.” You say.
“I do have to say that the sexy police skirt is working for you.” She tells you and you blush.
“Are you trying to make it harder to concentrate today?” You ask her and she smirks as she takes a bite of her salad.
“No idea what you’re talking about.” She says innocently.
“It seems like you’re trying to make it as hard for me as possible. It seemed like you were flirting with me this morning and your outfit keeps making my mind go places.” You say and she giggles.
“Well first of all, I was flirting with you this morning, and secondly, what if I want your attention on my body?” She asks you and you stare at her, mind blank. “Also Barb and I are going out to this bar who’s having a Halloween party and wanted to know if you want to tag along. The other 2 youngsters are being invited by Barb right now.” She tells you.
“Of course I’ll come.” You immediately say and she smiles.
At the end of the day you’re saying goodbye to your kiddos and you see the aunt from the dyslexic kid go up to Melissa and you watch.
“Hi Melissa, I have to say that you look amazing in this costume.” She says to Melissa and Melissa smiles at her.
“Thank you, once I saw Aquaman then I was pretty sure I could pull up being Mera.” Melissa tells her.
“Oh you pull it off better than her. Do you have any plans tonight? I was wondering if you didn’t then maybe we can do something together.” She asks.
“I’m going out with some coworkers and I don’t want to miss it.” Melissa says and you smile.
“Oh, well maybe another time.” The aunt says before taking her niece and leaving.
“You know if you really wanted to go out with her then we’d understand.” You say as you walk up to her after all your students leave.
“I know, but like I told her, I don’t want to miss this.” She says as she goes to grab her things and then locks her door. “I’ll meet you there, we’re meeting for about 6, I’ll send the address. And feel free to ditch the leggings.” She says as she walks off with a smile.
You get home not long after and you immediately take the leggings off. You get something ready to eat and have a meal before you go upstairs and apply some makeup. As you’re applying some mascara, Melissa’s words from lunch hits you, she was purposefully flirting with you this morning and you don’t know why. You then get the toy handcuffs that came with the costume and attach them to the belt. You then get a text from Melissa with the address and you see it’ll take about 20 minutes to get there and you look at the time, 5:20. You then decide to go there now as there might be traffic since it’s Halloween. You arrive about half an hour later and you see it’s starting to pile up in here.
“Hey Y/n!” You hear and turn around to see Janine and Jacob there.
“Hey guys.” You tell them.
“Isn’t it amazing that Barb and Melissa invited all of us out with them? And to think I thought they didn’t like us, but if you keep trying then-”
“I’ll stop you right there.” You tell Janine and she immediately closes her mouth. “How about we get some drinks?” You suggest and you all make your way to the bar and order some drinks.
“Hey hon.” You hear and turn to see Melissa and Barb there as they walk towards all of you.
“Hey Melissa.” You say as you get your drink and thank the bartender before you pay.
“What drink did you get?” Melissa asks you.
“Just a daiquiri, thought of starting small.” You tell her and she nods before she orders a beer.
Half an hour later you’re all on your second drink and sitting and talking at a table with booths. You and Melissa on one side, while the other 3 are on the other side. You’re following the story that Barb is telling about all the costumes of her students, when you feel a hand touch your leg and you look to see Melissa’s hand there. You glance over at her and she’s looking at Barb and pretending that she’s not touching you. You then feel her hand go further up your leg and you widen your eyes as you wonder if she’s going to do what you think she’s going to do. You then lean in towards her near her ear.
“What are you doing?” You whisper to her and she turns to look at you.
“Do you want me to stop?” She asks.
“We agreed no sex.” You tell her, a little breathlessly.
“Do you want me to stop?” She asks again and you go to take a sip of your drink, giving her permission to keep going.
Her hand trails up your thigh, closer and closer to your centre. Your breathing deepens as she gets closer and you can hear Janine is telling everyone all the costumes of her students. You then feel her hand right over your centre, hand buried under your skirt. You unconsciously spread your legs to give her more access and you see her smile from the corner of your eye. You feel her hand go up and down your clothed pussy and you let out a gasp and everyone looks at you. You widen your eyes and you’re sure your cheeks are tinged pink with embarrassment. Even with everyone looking at you, Melissa doesn’t stop. In fact she pushes your underwear to the side and trails her index finger up your centre and clit. You let out a big breath and realise everyone is still looking at you.
“Are you alright dear?” Barb asks and you nod.
“Just think…the drinks, the alcohol, is starting to…hit me.” You say through breaths as Melissa is still teasing you. You then notice everyone’s attention is on Melissa and you hear her say something about a Halloween costume and realise they're still talking about their students.
Melissa is talking about how cute her students are to get the attention off of you and sees you starting to struggle to keep your composure. She realises she can make it harder for you or take pity on you. She immediately decides to make it harder for you and slips her middle finger in your entrance as you’re taking a sip. She’s lucky that you decided to sit near the wall so nobody in the bar suspects anything as her body is blocking it. She begins pumping inside of you and sees you’re doing your best not to give anything away but you keep slipping by keeping your mouth open. She decides right there that you’ll give it away if she continues and she takes her finger out and you let out a tiny whimper that no one hears except her.
A few seconds after she takes her finger out is when everyone turns their attention onto you and asks your favourite costumes from your students were. Melissa doesn’t make it easier for you though as she keeps trailing her hand up and down your upper thigh and it’s making it hard for you to even think about anything except where her hand is. Melissa decides to take pity and speaks up.
“I think we both need some more drinks.” She says before she grabs your hand and leads you into the crowd. You get confused as you pass right by the bar and she leads you to the other side of the place to the bathrooms.
“Melissa, why are we-” You get silenced as she leads you into a stall and pushes you up against the door and kisses you.
“I couldn’t wait any longer, all I thought about all day was running my hands up these legs.” She tells you as she trails her hand up your left thigh, underneath your skirt. “And unzipping this shirt and see your amazing tits.” She continues as she unzips your shirt, unclips your bra and pulls it up to see your breasts. “I know we agreed on no sex but would you say no if we have sex one more time?” She asks and it takes a few seconds for your brain to catch up with the situation. Once it does and you think over her question, you put your hand on the back of her head and pull her in for a kiss. Melissa responds immediately and kisses you back as she’s had a hard time staying away from you all week, let alone not being able to touch your body or kiss you all weekend or even today.
You feel her hands move your skirt up before she goes down on her knees and dives right to your clit. You immediately put your hand over your mouth and bite your lip to keep you from making any noises as she does everything she can to get noises out of you. She then frowns as she would like to hear you and pulls away. You look at her in confusion but help her up.
“This isn’t working, I want to hear you.” She says and you look at her.
“My car is right outside.” You suggest and she smiles before she makes you presentable again and then she grabs your hand and leads you out of the bar and to your car. She opens the passenger side before pushing the seat as far back as it can go before getting you to sit down. You bring the seat down a bit so you’re on a slightly comfortable angle as Melissa gets on the floor and closes the door.
“Now, don’t conceal your noises.” She tells you and you nod before she bunches up your skirt and goes back to your clit again. You let out a gasp and arch your back as she does a hard suck right away. She then focuses on bringing you as much pleasure as possible as she already knows your body incredibly well. It isn’t long before you feel your orgasm starting to build and that’s when Melissa slips a finger in your centre and you see stars as she knows how to make you feel so good. She slides a second finger in you and you reach behind you and grab the headrest of the seat as she quickly pumps in and out of you. You start squirming as you’re right at your peak and Melissa lets you as she’s enjoying the sight. You then let out a high pitched gasp as you come and Melissa slows down inside of you before carefully removing her fingers and she licks your juices from her fingers. You catch your breath as Melissa watches you with a smile. You then get her to climb up on top of you and you kiss her as you calm down from your orgasm. You then reach behind her and unzip her costume before taking it off of her and leaving it piled at her knees. You then flip the both of you so that she’s underneath you and you unclip her bra and push it up before you slip a nipple in your mouth and she moans. “You’re obsessed with them.” She says breathlessly.
“When you have tits this big? Yes.” You say as you switch to her other nipple and she giggles.
“Oh god, I missed your touch so much.” Melissa moans out as you suck on her nipple while trailing your hands up and down her legs.
“Ya?” You ask as you pull away from her nipple and touch near her centre and clit.
“Yes.” She says before you touch her clit and she gasps. You start circling her clit and she pulls you in for a kiss. She has an arm wrapped around your neck as her other hand is gripping onto the carseat. “Oh god, please I need you inside of me.” She says and you do one last circle on her clit before you do as she asks and insert one finger inside of her and you feel her dig her nails into your back. You a couple pumps inside of her before you insert a second finger and you feel like adding a third finger, so you add a third and she gasps out as she grips the carseat even tighter. “YES! YES! YES!” She says in a pitched voice. “Don’t stop!” She tells you and you pump faster. “Oh god, I’m so close, so close.” She tells you and you feel her clench around your fingers and she arches her back. You kiss her neck seconds before she comes around your fingers. You pull away from her neck right as she comes and rest your forehead against hers. “I love you.” She says softly, the second after she comes and you widen your eyes and pull away from her slightly.
You’ve heard her admit it before but it was one she was delirious and didn’t know she was talking to you. This time she knows damn well that you’re here with her and she’s not sick. A couple seconds after she says it, it’s like her brain catches up with her mouth and she snaps her eyes open and looks at you with wide eyes. You pull out of her and lick your fingers as she tries to steady her breathing.
“Oh god, I wasn’t- you weren’t… forget I said the last few words.” She tells you and you shake your head.
“I’m not going to pretend that I just didn’t hear you admit it a second time.” You tell her and she furrows her eyebrows.
“Se-second time?” She asks and you nod.
“You might have admitted it to me without knowing it was me when you were delirious when you had a fever.” You admit and she puts a hand on her forehead. “But it’s ok, I know you’re not ready for anything yet and-”
“But that’s the thing Y/n! I was never going to admit it as I don’t know when I’ll be ready and I don’t want to string your feelings along.” She confesses and you look at her. “Yes I love you, I found that out 3 weeks ago but it scares me. The last person I loved was Joe and I’m getting a divorce from him as he manipulated me for 25 years. She tells you.
“Melissa, I’m not Joe. I know you know that but I think you need to hear it. I have no interest in manipulating you or anyone else as I have actual compassion and empathy. You know I love you and I know I’ll continue dating and being friends with you. If you ever decide you’re ready then just let me know. But until then, I’ll wait willingly for you, however long that takes.” You say to her and you wipe away the tear that falls down her cheek and you smile at her.
“I don’t deserve you.” She says as she looks down.
“You deserve everything you want.” You tell her before you kiss her forehead and she looks up at you with a smile.
“You’re the sweetest person I’ve ever met.” She tells you as she strokes your cheek and you lean into her touch.
“As much as I’m enjoying this, we should probably go back to everyone before they think we’ve died or something.” You joke and she chuckles before you both get dressed and fix your makeup before you stumble out and walk back into the bar. You head to the bar and order 2 drinks as Melissa goes back to the table. You get the drinks and join back at the table and hand the second drink to Melissa.
“Y/n, I was just saying we ran into a friend of yours.” Melissa tells them and everyone looks at you.
“Yep, talked for a little bit.” You tell them as casually as possible as you sit down.
You all then talk for an hour before you decide to call it a night as you all have to go to work tomorrow. You say goodbye to everyone and they all walk to their cars as you hug Melissa.
“I meant what I said, I’ll willingly wait for you.” You tell her and she kisses you and smiles.
“I know, and if the situation was reversed, I’d wait for you as well.” She tells you as you grab her hand. “I have to go, Barb is my ride home and I’m pretty excited to get out of this even though I look stunning.” She says and you giggle.
“You always look stunning.” You tell her and she smiles before she lets go of your hand.
“Text me when you get home.” She says and you nod. She then watches as you walk to your car before she hears a honk and sees Barb and Gerald are ready to go. She then walks to their car and gets in.
That night she didn’t receive a text from you but she figured you forgot or fell asleep right away. She sees that it’s 10:03pm and decides to go to sleep as she’s getting up in 7 hours. She then falls asleep with a smile on her face as she thinks of you
*11:06pm*
Melissa opens her eyes as she hears her phone going off and she reaches over and sees you’re calling her. She furrows her eyebrows as she’s wondering why you’re calling her so late. She then picks up and brings it to her ear.
“Y/n, what’s up, hon?” She asks.
“Excuse me, are you Melissa Schemmenti?” A voice asks her and she sits up in bed.
“Depends, who’s this?” She asks them.
“My name is Emily Brown, I’m a doctor at the hospital and you’re listed as the emergency contact on Y/n’s phone.” Emily tells her and her heart sinks.
“Is-is she ok?” Melissa asks.
“I’m afraid there’s been a car accident and I'm going to need you to come right away.”

Sherlock fandom.
I was determined to write the fluffiest flash fiction ever after the devastating events of late, but my muse decided that you'll need tissues instead. Apologies, but I think it'll have a cathartic effect.
Let Me Comfort You
John’s ascending steps speak volumes to Sherlock. They are heavier than normal. Something must have happened at work. His watch tells him that John is ninety-five minutes early. He never leaves before his shift is over, unless Sherlock texts or shows up with a case.
The moment John appears in the doorway, Sherlock knows. A patient has died, and not an old one. Melissa, six years old, leukaemia. They had hoped she would make it through the year.
One last Christmas.
He’s in front of John before he collapses in Sherlock’s arms. John sobs like his heart is breaking, and Sherlock guesses that it literally is. The girl had been so brave, according to John. He had encountered her when her parents took her to A&E before they knew about her condition. A broken wrist and a cut over her eyebrow, which John mended easily.
Melissa had asked for him when she came back for her treatment. John represented safety, and he was allowed to visit her by the haematologist-oncologist.
“I’m sorry, John,” Sherlock murmurs and kisses his temple. “It went faster than expected?”
“Yeah,” John says, his voice is rough. “Infection.”
Sherlock tightens his grip and strokes John’s back.
“What can I do?” he asks, hoping there is something that can ease John’s despair.
“You’re doing it, Sherlock,” John replies and buries his face in the crook of Sherlock’s neck.
It’s a bit uncomfortable, since John’s face is damp with flowing tears, but Sherlock couldn’t care less. He’s determined to endure whatever John needs him to. His throat thickens and he has to clench his jaw to keep from crying too. He needs to be strong, just as John has been for Sherlock so many times. It is his turn now.
“Bath?” he suggests.
“Christ, that would be wonderful,” John sighs.
Relieved, Sherlock steers John to sit in his chair, while he sorts out the bath.
***
Sherlock fills the tub, adds vetiver-scented soap, and finds four jar candles. He places two of them at the far end of the tub and the other two on the sink. The flames flicker a bit when he whirls around to gather soft towels, their pyjamas bottoms, t-shirts, and clean pants. Before he returns to the sitting room, he turns off the light, so that the candles are the only light source in the bathroom.
John is resting his head on the back of his chair, his eyes closed, but he isn’t sleeping. Sherlock strokes his hair and beckons him to come with him. John walks like a zombie, and even lets Sherlock undress him. Sherlock’s heart clenches. John’s clearly out of sorts when he’s this pliant.
John makes no effort to get into the tub, and Sherlock strips quickly, seats himself and reaches for John to help him in. The deep sigh John releases when he’s enveloped in Sherlock’s arms, makes Sherlock almost euphoric with relief.
“This is just what I needed, Sherlock,” John murmurs after a few minutes of tranquil silence. “You’re lovely.”
Sherlock feels his cheeks flush, and not from the hot water. John’s praise always does that.
He starts humming and isn’t paying much mind to what tune exactly.
“Bach’s Lullaby,” John murmurs. “Are you going to sing me to sleep, love?”
“I wasn’t aware actually,” Sherlock responds quietly. “Would you want me to sing to you?”
“Always,” John assures him.
He turns his head and kisses Sherlock’s cheek.
“I love you,” Sherlock says softly and bends down to catch John’s lips.
“Me too, sweetheart. So much,” John whispers.
He starts to tremble and hides his face in Sherlock’s neck again.
“Shh, my heart. I’ve got you,” Sherlock soothes.
He rarely uses endearments, John’s name is enough, but this occasion clearly calls for it. John holds on to him for dear life, and Sherlock starts humming again. This relaxes John considerably, and Sherlock asks if John has any song requests.
“You don’t have to,” he mumbles.
“Let me comfort you, John. Please.”
When John stays silent, Sherlock starts to sing. He knows it’s one of John’s favourites. One that’s soothed him on more than one occasion.
When you're weary Feeling small When tears are in your eyes I will dry them all

YEAS!! exactly like that!! domming melissa 💝💝💝💝🤤🤤🤤
— 🍎
first time writing for melissa guys, everyone thank 🍎🍎 anon!! also this might not make as much sense without shauna’s background, but whatever! info + link below!
the woods are quiet, but never truly still. the heavy heat of the afternoon clings to the air, like your sweat-dampened clothes to your skin. you came out here to be alone, away from camp, away from everything, but the prickle at the back of your neck tells you you’re not: someone’s here.
you don’t hesitate. moving on instinct, you spin toward the sound, catching a glimpse of movement before you grab. a startled yelp is cut off as you shove the figure back against the rough bark of a tree, your blade pressed firm against their throat.
a familiar face stares up at you: melissa.
her lips part like she wants to protest, but instead, she exhales sharply, glancing away before meeting your eyes again. “hi…” she breathes, barely above a whisper, still stunned from the sudden impact.
her throat bobs as she swallows and she shifts slightly, then freezes as the blade follows her movement. her hands lift in surrender. “i wasn’t following you!” a beat. “not at first.”
melissa wets her lips, darting a nervous glance at your face before she continues, trying to get ahead of your anger. “i just- i couldn’t sleep. and then I saw you leaving, and i thought: ‘melissa, it’s crazy out here. you should probably keep an eye on each other’“
your grip on her arm loosens a little.
“you’re-“ melissa stops herself, biting her lip. “you’re so resilient.” she says it like a fact, not a compliment. “and that’s important. out here.”
she hesitates, fingers twitching where they rest against the bark. her breath stirs against the edge of your blade, but her gaze doesn’t waver. “everyone’s afraid of you, you know?” she exhales, voice softer now. “i’m not“
something shifts. you can feel it, lingering in the charged space between you. melissa is watching you too closely, standing too still. before you can react, she moves. her fingers brush over your free hand before she leans in, pressing her lips to yours.

I Bet On Losing Dogs
after realizing your feelings for Melissa, you stop putting yourself in the position to be hurt over and over again.
content warnings: angst, eventual comfort, mentions of alcohol
A/N: heyyyy…so this was more of a therapy session for me so ignore how sad it is lol
It was your first open house at Abbott Elementary when you realized the feelings you had for Melissa were more than friendly. Throughout your second year at the school, the redhead and you became closer than ever. The first year was cordial between the two of you, but upon seeing you return for another go at the underfunded school, Melissa’s view on you changed from just another newbie to someone who might mean something. You took advantage of that change, taking up on her offers to help you with planning or grading after school, listening to her few open moments about her personal life with all the attention you had. There was something about the older woman that drew you to her, a constant need to be in her presence. To learn from her, to make memories, to exist in her world. You chalked it up to being impressed, wanting to be mentored. Until she started acting friendly, giving you space to learn about who Melissa was, not just Ms. Schemmenti. She felt like a breath of fresh air and the strongest of drugs all rolled up with a red ribbon tying it together.
It was when you sat and watched Melissa play Jacob in poker it hit you. It wasn’t wanting to learn, or wanting to be friends, you wanted her. She sat smugly as she threw down her cards, beating Jacob after she had just lost to him. “So, we’re tied. Dealbreaker?” She asked her opponent. Upon his agreement, she started shuffling cards for the third time. Without looking up, she called to you. “Hey hon? Could you go grab my purse for me? I’m gonna need to put all this cash away after I win, again.” It was small, but for some reason, it awoke something deep inside. The pet name slipping from her mouth, the fact she knew that you knew where her belongings were, and the way she trusted you with it. It felt domestic and familiar, and you wanted more.
It was the wanting of more that killed you, knowing she would never feel the same. At first, it was easy to ignore the sadness that came with the euphoria of being around her, her attention was worth the pain. Shortly after that moment in the break room, your view on every interaction changed. Did she notice the way your cheeks flushed at the slightest touch? The way you held on to her every word? Now that you were aware of your feelings, they only grew stronger by each passing day. Which meant everything Melissa said or did, was taken a lot more seriously. You barely survived the day Gary first came into the break room, the way he looked at her and talked to her. Most importantly, the way she ate it up. She seemed to love this attention from a new person, taking all of it in. As if you didn’t do everything she asked, and even things she didn’t. It hurt, more than words could describe. But you couldn’t act out, of course not. So you swallowed the anxiety and sadness that washed over you every time he came in.
And yet, you always came back. The minute her attention was back to you, it was like nothing bad had ever happened, she made it all worth it. Every moment of melancholy, she could take it away, despite being the reason for it all. You knew that she was hurting you, even though she didn’t mean to. She would never do something on purpose to hurt you, which made all the pain even worse. She cared so deeply for you, just not the way you wanted. For whatever reason, you continued down this path. Romanticizing every interaction together, every time she called you hon or love, you told yourself maybe it meant just as much to her as it did to you. Until she didn’t give you what you wanted, and the vicious cycle continued.
The wake up call could not have come sooner. After a Friday spent practically alone, you had a breaking point. Melissa didn’t stop by your classroom at all that day, when usually she would check in multiple times with you. At lunch, she spent the whole time working, shooting you a text letting you know she wasn’t coming to the breakroom. You opted to stay in too. You were happy she was able to spend some time working, always admiring the dedication she had for this job. But after her unusual absence in the morning, it hurt a little more than usual.
When she left with a simple “See you later, kid,” you knew it was time to create some distance. For whatever reason, it felt like your heart was breaking (the reason was love, of course). You had become so used to Melissa’s constant attention that the moment you didn’t have it, it was like the world came crashing down. Maybe it would be easier if she knew how you felt, if you could just tell her everything that’s been going on inside your head the past few months. Except it wasn’t that simple. The fear that she wouldn’t return the immense feelings, or laugh, or stop talking to you all together, it was too much. And it stopped you from ever opening your mouth about it.
The pain had begun to override the love you felt, and you were tired of letting yourself go back to such a dark place. So after the boring Friday without much from Melissa, you decided to skip your weekly wine night with her. Every Saturday night, Melissa would cook for the two of you, and she would task you with picking a wine for the evening. You felt like a coward sending the text saying you couldn’t make it, but it was better than confronting your feelings. Her response made it even worse.
I understand hon, take it easy tonight. But I will miss you.
That cancellation was the first of many. Day after day, and week after week, you pulled back from Melissa. The two of you went from being inseparable to you avoiding her at all costs, even if it meant taking hours to respond to her texts.
It was stupid to think she wouldn’t notice. Sitting on the couch with a near empty bottle of wine, you felt your phone buzz.
You’re not coming tonight, are you?
You stared at the screen, Melissa’s name at the top, rereading her message over and over again.
Not tonight, I’m sorry.
You half expected her to respond with care, or maybe anger. But when an hour went by and she still hadn’t answered, you knew she was upset. What you didn’t expect, however, was a rather aggressive knock at the door. Standing up from the couch, you realized opening the second bottle of wine might not have been the best idea. Opening the door, there she was.
“What the hell is going on with you? What did I do?” Melissa asked as soon as she saw you, voice filled with so many emotions. You were surprised to see her so emotional.
“Hello to you too, Mel.” You teased, hoping to lighten the situation. It didn’t work.
“You don’t get a hello, and don’t call me that. You have been hurting my feelings repeatedly and I still don’t know what I did. Every day and night I think about the last time we hung out and what I could have done to make you hate me so much.” Somewhere in her speech, the redhead walked past you and was now pacing in your living room.
You felt awful. In the midst of distancing yourself for the sake of your own emotions, you completely disregarded hers.
“I don’t hate you, Melissa. I…I don’t know…”
“Yes you do. You don’t pull away for no reason. Is this the wine we were supposed to have tonight? You don’t do that for no reason either.” She gestured to the empty bottle on the table. Her voice was loud and angry, but you could read on her face how hurt and sad she was by all of this.
“Okay, I’m sorry. I had to pull away it’s-it’s too much. You’re too much. My feelings for you are too much and it’s suffocating and as much as I love spending time with you it hurts too much now. I can’t do it Melissa.”
“Can’t do what?” She asked, slowly stepping towards you. At the same time, your words that just left your mouth came back to your brain, and you felt sick. But you were in deep waters already with her, might as well sink.
“I can’t be around you knowing you look at me differently than how I look at you.” Melissa didn’t answer to that, so you continued. “You are the most beautiful woman I have ever met, you’re so kind to me and sweet but at the same time the strongest person I know. I admire everything you do. I love you.”
“I love you too, but-”
“No, Melissa. I love you.”
You watched as the gears turned in her head, but quickly looked away. Tears began filling your eyes and despite not facing her, you were worried she would see. You felt arms wrap themselves around your torso and the scent of perfume engulfed you. For a single moment things were okay, until you remembered who it was. You tried to pull away, but she wouldn’t let you, instead, she turned you around to face her. To your surprise, her eyes were watery as well.
“Why didn’t you say anything?” She said so quietly you could barely hear, but her arms still held you so closely you were able to understand.
“I didn’t know how you would feel, I was terrified to lose you. So I just did it myself. I’m sorry. I was scared of what you would say.”
“I would say I love you too.” Melissa responded, louder this time, so you would absolutely hear her. You were silent, still unsure of what was happening. As if she could read your mind, she rolled her eyes and smirked. “Oh my god, just come here.” That was the last thing you heard before you felt soft lips on your own.
She kissed you like her life depended on it, and she tasted exactly how you imagined. Not wanting to push it, she pulled back. “You taste like wine,” she smiled. “I love you,” you replied. That made her laugh, and it was so lovely to hear that sound again. “We’ve established that. And we’ve established I love you too, hon. Y’know we could’ve avoided all of this had you just told me.”
“You could’ve told me too, Mel.” You giggled, feeling silly that this whole time, you could’ve been with her instead of avoiding her. “I thought you knew, you think I treat anyone else like I treat you?”
“What about Gary?” You nervously asked.
“What about him? He’s a flirt, and you were avoiding me. You are the only one I want that attention from.” She erased those negative thoughts from your head immediately.
“Good, I know it’s late but, can we still have dinner?”
“Of course, I would love to. But I think you’ve had enough wine for the night.” She smirked, and pulled you with her into your kitchen to start cooking.
