ada idea lagi tak for boxing au record of ragnarok >:3
Sorry tau lambat 😭😭 Damia rasa agak down minggu minggu ni...
Anyways-✨✨
It all started with a very strange dream I had long ago..
Ring of Ragnarok AU🥊🥊
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Contents?: Headcannons
Warnings?: Slight (legal) violence, mentions of drug intakes.
Let's just go with our current fighters...
°*°*°*°*°*°*°*°*°*°*°*°*°*°*°*°
Lu Bu: Don't really have much ideas for him, but I can say that he's the strongest fighter at his local ring. If his opponent is weaker than him or having a hard time to take him down, he just yawns and ends the round quickly. Mans bored as fuck. He's just impatient to go to the Valhalla level ring, because Brunhilde promised him there will be stronger opponents for him to fight and have fun with.
Thor : Same as Lu Bu. Though, he goes nicer to the weaker opponents because Loki keeps getting to his ass on how he shouldn't be too cold to the small fries. So Thor did exactly as that, gives the opponent some more time to try harder to bring him down. They better impress Thor, otherwise his patience will run out and he will throw them out of the ring.
Zeus : A veteran. During his youth, he absolutely ruled the ring. However, he always went too overboard with his excitement that he had a few restriction orders against him made by many people, most of it were his old opponents. Nowadays, he seldomly goes out to the ring, and now he coaches others in boxing (mainly his sons).
Adam : An old dog, and still remained standing. Just like Thor and Lu Bu, though he's WAY nicer, he gives his opponents some time to try taking him down and sometimes it went one until the end of time. He tends to go softer to the younger ones, not going full force. The "older" ones always make fun and look down on him because of his small frame, but those always change when he shows them his outstanding speed and force.
Poseidon: Looks down on newbies and youngsters. A LOT. Just like with Adamas, he refuses to look at his opponents in the eyes. He would purposely late to his tournaments, and proceeds to beat the living shit out of his opponent seconds right after the ring begins just because he refuse to mingle with "people who are way below his league". That includes his fans and others that respect him. On his latest tournament, he was absolutely jumped by Kojiro, and couldn't recover mentally ever since.
Sasaki Kojiro: The dark horse and underdog who recently had beat the mighty Poseidon. During his youth, he would purposely lose the tournament, only for him to re-join it the following year and purposely lose again. Because of his continuous loses, a lot of people often look down and ridicule him. His former opponent, Miyamoto Musashi, used to win against him a lot in the past. However, he never once underestimate on Kojiro. That is because recently, Kojiro re-join yet another tournament and beat the unbeatable Poseidon, as his first ever victory.
Hercules: Everyone's favorite boxer. Strong in the ring, soft at the public. The media absolutely adores him. He fights fair and square, giving his opponents the easy game at first but at the same time not underestimating them. Often in the end, his opponents end up respecting him. He absolutely does NOT tolerate with cheaters. It doesn't matter if it's illegal drug usage, bribery towards the referee, steroid intake and etc, Hercules does not tolerate with unfairness. He'll give them a nasty beat down, in and out of the ring.
Jack The Ripper/Jack Smith: Not many known him, until his sudden fame against a very skilled boxer in England. His fancy and polite mannerism don't strike him as an expert boxer, so many have suspected him to cheating, even as far as accusing him taking steroids. Of course, he knew this, yet does nothing about it. He loves seeing other's colors of resentment and envy anyway. Many despise him, so to see his fans going out and about in public is very rare. A strategist rather than a brute. He tends to use psychological pressure and manipulation on his opponents, and he often goes towards their blind spots. All with a sadistic smile of satisfaction upon seeing his opponents fear at the end of the round.

Raise Your Glass — P!nk. || So raise your glass if you are wrong in all the right ways // All my underdogs, we will never be anything but loud and nitty gritty // Dirty little freaks // Slam slam oh hot damn // What part of party don't you understand?

Primadonna Girl — Marina. || All I ever wanted was the world // I can't help that I need it all // The primadonna life, the rise and fall // You say that I'm kinda difficult, but it's always someone else's fault // Got you wrapped around my finger, babe //You can count on me to misbehave. // Would you do anything for me? // Would you get down on your knees for me? // I know I've got a big ego // I really don't know why it's such a big deal, though.
Dark Horse — Katy Perry ft. Juicy J. || I knew you were, you were gonna come to me // And here you are, but you better choose carefully // 'Cause I, I'm capable of anything, of anything and everything // Make me your Aphrodite // Make me your one and only // But don't make me your enemy, your enemy. // So you wanna play with magic? // Boy, you should know what you're fallin' for. // Baby, do you dare to do this? // 'Cause I'm coming at you like a dark horse // Are you ready for a perfect storm? // 'Cause once you're mine, once you're mine, there's no going back.
Bad Blood — Taylor Swift. || Did you have to do this? // I was thinking that you could be trusted // Did you have to ruin what was shining? // Now it's all rusted // Oh, it's so sad to think about the good times, you and I // 'Cause baby, now we got bad blood, you know it used to be mad love // So take a look what you've done // 'Cause baby, now we got bad blood // Now we got problems, and I don't think we can solve 'em // You made a really deep cut, and baby now we got bad blood.
Control — Halsey. || I'm bigger than my body // I'm colder than this home // I'm meaner than my demons // I'm bigger than these bones // And all the kids cried out, "Please stop, you're scaring me" // I can't help this awful energy // Goddamn right, you should be scared of me // Who is in control?
Look What You Made Me Do — Taylor Swift || Honey, I rose up from the dead, I do it all the time // I got a list of names, and yours is in red, underlined // I check it once, then I check it twice, oh! // I don't like your kingdom keys // They once belonged to me // Ooh, look what you made me do. // You asked me for a place to sleep // Locked me out and threw a feast (what?) // The world moves on, another day another drama, drama // But not for me, not for me, all I think about is karma // And then the world moves on, but one thing's for sure // Maybe I got mine, but you'll all get yours.
We'll Meet Again — Vera Lynn. || Let's say goodbye with a smile, dear // Just for a while dear, we must part // Don't let this parting upset you // I'll not forget you, sweetheart // We'll meet again // Don't know where, don't know when // But I know we'll meet again some sunny day // Keep smiling through, just like you always do // 'Til the blue skies chase those dark clouds far away.
Also two bonus ones that I wasn't sure were appropriate for this since they are so intrinsically tied to Bill, but felt wrong not to include all the same:
Primadonna Bill because I'm not remotely the first one to see how well "Primadonna Girl" fit Bill, and Knitting Giant Beanies did a full parody song for it. Sadly the original does not seem to be around anymore, so this AMV is the best I can provide.
It's Gonna Get Weird because this is literally his unreleased Disney villain song we were robbed of in the actual series.
I also realize "We'll Meet Again" is literally a song Bill sang on the show, but it predates Gravity Falls so I still think it gets to be in the main list.

Question. I have never heard of you’re my sky. And now I have added to my list because of your post. I have found that the Most popular BLs are not normally the Beat BLs according to regular fan base so……. Because I have not heard of this one I am in hopes it’s going to be a good one?? 👀
Anon, please do not trust my recommendations because I have trash taste, but as an American, I tend to like sports-themed stories. Give me a plot about an underdog in the sports world coming up against the big bad rich multiple-time winning team, and I will love the shit out of it! I will eat up media like The Mighty Ducks, Friday Night Lights ("clear eyes, full heart, can't lose"), and One Tree Hill ("I DON'T WANNA BE ANYTHING OTHER THAN WHAT I'VE BEEN TRYNA BE LATELY") because I want to root for the little guy. I didn't watch Creed and Bring It On just for the color coding.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So understand this is a BIG reason I love You're My Sky. At the center of it is a story about a dark horse (or more like a Red Rascal) who not only brings life back into his school's basketball program but also into every single person who gets involved with it. The coach, the players (FLUKE!), and his love interest all get a second shot (pun intended) at fulfilling their dreams.
Tumblr media
Oh, and the antagonist? Perfect! People HATED the 11th episode because it had a time jump and flipped the script on our little long shot, but it brought a new layer to our despised coach who had been the enemy for the last ten episodes, AND it made sense why the lead would act the way he did, mostly to people who have played a competitive sport on a level of this nature. It's a different beast, mentally and physically, and changes people.
Tumblr media
In addition, people lost. One of the reasons people liked My School President was because of the seriousness of the competition which was the underlying thread throughout the series, but also that the possibility of losing was very real. In You're My Sky, competition is treated the same. The team won't win simply because they want to or the narrative proclaims it. No. The actors look like they can actually play basketball, the strategies make sense, and the fear that loss can and will happen is always present. Not just in basketball, but in track, in soccer, and most importantly, in love.
Tumblr media
I haven't even mentioned the love parts! But know that those are good too. We have childhood friends-to-lovers, a younger boy chasing an older one, and pseudo-enemies-to-lovers but one is dating the other's sister. I don't care what anyone says about the leads or the sister's boyfriend plot. They did their jobs and EPISODE SIX SUPREMACY!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The show demonstrates that no man is an island regardless of the endeavor. In order to achieve greatness, we must work with others. People will let us down, but we have to support others in order to receive support, and we need to help the people we love even in their darkest times, especially when they feel unworthy of it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This series is a top for me, so even though some people disliked it, I hope it makes you "CHEER! CHEER!"
Tumblr media
Let me know how you feel once and if you finish.

Reclamation: Self-Made Boys
I just finished Self-Made Boys by Anna-Marie McLemore. I have thoughts...
Tumblr media
Here there be spoilers!
The Self-Made Man is a homegrown American myth. Like all myths, it taps into collective values. Americans revere independence and success, particularly financial success. We are individualistic, refusing to believe we want or need anyone else to shape our lives. And we love an underdog, thrilling to watch a weak fighter dark-horse their way to the top!
But here’s the other thing about myths: they’re not real.
A closer look at every Self-Made Man lionized throughout American history reveals a shadow establishment behind them of exploitation. Privilege allows the Self-Made Man to bury the racism, sexism, and homophobia that permitted these straight white men to carve a path to the top and to keep themselves and their families there for decades (or even over a century).
Perhaps the most famous fictional example is James Gatz, better known as eponymous mystery man at the center of The Great Gatsby. F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel is narrated by Nick Carraway: a white man, a Yalie, a disenchanted spoiled brat who fancies himself morally superior to just about everyone around him (his own claims to the contrary notwithstanding). He--like everyone else--spends the novel obsessing over Gatsby and wondering how a man like that came to be even as Nick sneers at the very ticks that betray Gatsby as nouveau-riche.
As the rich are busy eating each other, the savvy reader will be alert for discomforting aspects of Fitzgerald’s novel. On the margins are Gatsby’s associates, all of whom are deemed unsavory, and most are the  undesirables of this pristine, white world: people of color and, infamously, a man who is a walking talking jewish caricature.
Suffice it to say: it was time for an upgrade.
Rather than get ‘borne back ceaselessly into the past,’ Anna-Marie McLemore decided to remix Gatsby’s tale. This book is not necessarily one for modern sensibilities. Instead, it’s an effort to take the figures on the margins and bring them center-page where they belong.
In Anna-Marie McLemore’s Self-Made Boys, Nick Carraway becomes Nicolas Caraveo, a young Mexican-American man who longs to use his talent for math to make his family’s fortune. Nick sees this as his duty because he feels he owes a debt. He came out to his parents as a trans man, and they accepted him right away. Bearing in mind that trans teenagers can’t feel secure in that outcome in 2023 let alone in the 1920s, Nicolas regards this as no small miracle! Eager to show his gratitude, Nicolas follows his cousin, Daisy, out to New York. But Nicolas quickly realizes that Daisy has been shaping herself a new life. Now attempting to pass as white, Daisy denied Nicolas, telling everyone he’s the son of one of her old housekeepers. Nicolas, disgusted and afraid, finds himself pulling away from Daisy. He fears that he will once again find himself alone on the margins. Until the day that he meets his neighbor, Gatsby, another trans man who teaches Nicolas about himself and how to shape the future of his dreams.
I think it’s safe to say that anyone who’s ever read the original can’t help but detect the queer subtext in Nick’s infatuation with Gatsby. Here, the quiet part is said out loud and proud. Nicolas gets to consciously fall in love with Jay. The addition of them both being trans layers the image of ‘self-made’ with meaning.
First (and most obvious), there’s the obsession with money, how it drives society, who has and who can’t have, remain a powerful engine here as in the original. Once again, Gatsby is a man who came from middle-American poverty and dealt his way to fortune through blackmarket goods. It just so happens that his ‘unsavory’ associates are his allies: marginalized people who see each other as equals and pull each other up like community should.
Second, there’s the literal meaning. Both Nicolas and Jay were born into bodies that made the world see them as women. To become the boys they knew they were, they needed to do the work: change their appearances, change their names, and change their homes. Throughout the novel, Nicolas shares his thoughts about what it means to make himself into the man he knows he is--and how his relationship with gender influences his relationship with sexuality. “Most of the men like me I’d read about, the ones who had lovers at all, had lovers who were women…Were there any who loved other men? Did those kinds of self-made boys exist? If I loved another boy, did that make me less of one?”
Becoming a self-made boy, we come to realize, is more difficult than convincing other people. Internalized transphobia means fighting to convince yourself, especially when your sexuality and gender together don’t make the narrative simple.
Third, there’s a less literal meaning, one related to labels and identity. Because our boys aren’t the only ones working to claim themselves. Almost every character is either BIPOC, queer, or both. And they are navigating how to live authentically in a world that repudiates their existence. The jewish stereotype I mentioned in the original translates here into one of my favorite characters: Martha Wolf. An out, proud, jewish lesbian. She plays a large part in gentling Nicolas out of his internalized homophobia. “Every word they call people like us is an insult,” she reminds him. “That really tells you something. Even ‘gay,’ they say as an insult. Even 'lesbian.’ But I don’t much care how they use it. It’s our word.” For Martha, reclamation is about owning your identity. Because if other people can’t make you ashamed of yourself, then they lose a powerful hold over you.
I’m reluctant to point to too many specific examples because they lead to major spoilers of some of Self-Made Boys’s best surprises. But I will tell you about one of my favorites. Throughout this novel, Daisy obsesses about having a ‘coming out’ as a debutante because doing so would cement her place in the New York social scene. In a beautiful twist on the meaning, one of the best scenes in the novel involves Jay and Nicolas going to a hidden queer speakeasy where a spontaneous ‘coming out party’ is held for a woman who has recently embraced her sexuality. The moment is one of people openly celebrating queer joy, one where Nicolas feels like he belongs. It’s like Jay says: “Fairy…It’s a word they use for boys like us. They mean it to be an insult, but I take it to mean there’s something magic about us and they know it.”
Books considered Classic Literature are getting deserved flak for the way they treat marginalized people. McLemore’s spin on one of the most infamous shows us a new kind of Self-Made Man: a brave one whose very life depends on finding the courage to know himself and live as honestly as he can. Self-Made Boys is for all the queer youth out there, showing us that the life of our dreams isn’t simply the mirage of a green light burning on a distant dock. It’s out there for us to claim--courageous and worthy as we are.

Unlocking the Mysteries of Kidney Cancer Drugs Market
Hey there, fellow earthlings! Buckle up your seatbelts because we’re about to take a wild ride through the ever-evolving realm of kidney cancer drugs market. But hold on a second, we promise to make it as exhilarating as possible, with a dash of humor and a pinch of sarcasm. So, grab your popcorn and let’s dive in!
Tumblr media
The Marvelous Market Numbers
Picture this: a whopping USD 4.40 Billion was the magic number that kicked off the kidney cancer drugs market in 2022. Fast forward to 2031, and voila! We’re looking at a jaw-dropping USD 7.12 Billion market. That’s a CAGR of 5.5% folks, and if you’re wondering what CAGR means, well, join the club! (Hint: It’s something to do with growth rate, but shh, let’s keep it between us).
The Drama Unfolds: Trends and Transformations
Now, let’s talk shop. The kidney cancer drugs market is no stranger to drama and transformations. Thanks to advancements in medical research, we’re witnessing a whirlwind of changes. Think targeted therapies and immunotherapies swooping in to save the day like superheroes. With these innovative treatments, patients now have access to less invasive options, making the journey a tad less rocky.
But hey, the plot thickens! We’ve got the rising demand for kidney cancer treatments stealing the spotlight. Thanks to increased awareness and early detection efforts, more patients are stepping into the limelight, driving the market forward. And let’s not forget the strategic partnerships between healthcare institutions and pharmaceutical companies, because who doesn’t love a good collaboration?
The Battle of the Titans: End Users and Distribution Channels
Now, let’s talk about the real MVPs: the end users and distribution channels. Hospitals have been holding court as the reigning champions, offering a one-stop-shop for kidney cancer treatments. But wait, here comes the underdog — the homecare segment — swooping in for the win with its convenience factor. Who knew getting treated at home could be so chic?
And don’t even get us started on distribution channels! Hospital pharmacies are like the OGs, while online pharmacies are the cool kids on the block, growing faster than a garden weed. With e-commerce and telehealth services on the rise, getting your hands on kidney cancer drugs has never been easier. It’s like ordering pizza, but with life-saving medications instead.
For More Information: https://www.skyquestt.com/report/kidney-cancer-drugs-market
The Global Showdown: Regions and Dynamics
Let’s take a world tour, shall we? North America may be hogging the spotlight, but don’t sleep on the Asia Pacific region, folks! With improving access to healthcare and a rising awareness about kidney cancer, APAC is the dark horse in this race. Countries like China and India are flexing their pharmaceutical muscles, giving the big shots a run for their money.
But hey, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. We’ve got some pesky regulatory hurdles raining on our parade. These hurdles might slow down the approval process for new treatments, but hey, we’ll get there eventually! Because when there’s a will, there’s a way, right?
The Cast of Characters: Top Players and Recent Developments
Last but not least, let’s give a round of applause to the real heroes of this story: the top players in the kidney cancer drugs market. From Pfizer to AstraZeneca, these guys are the unsung heroes working tirelessly behind the scenes to bring us innovative therapies. And let’s not forget the recent developments — from FDA approvals to groundbreaking research, these guys are shaking things up like a well-shaken martini.
The Final Act: What Lies Ahead
As we bid adieu to this whirlwind journey through the kidney cancer drugs market, one thing’s for sure: the future is bright (and hopefully cancer-free). With advancements in research and a growing emphasis on patient-centric care, we’re on the brink of a revolution. So, here’s to a world where kidney cancer is nothing but a distant memory, and innovation reigns supreme!
And with that, folks, it’s a wrap! Until next time, stay curious, stay informed, and above all, stay healthy! Cheers to the kidney cancer drugs market — may it continue to grow, evolve, and save lives one treatment at a time.

Tumblr media
October’s global theme is ‘endurance’ and we are excited to welcome local creative consultant, multidisciplinary systems thinker, and B Corp Ambassador Kristy O'Leary.
Kristy is a multi-disciplinary creative whose practice has evolved through direct action and activism, multimedia and installation art, advertising and branding, public confidence and social license campaigning, into the world of impact management consulting. Her passion and purpose have coalesced into Decade, a boutique consulting firm with a focus on supporting companies in taking meaningful, tangible, and radical action on climate and social justice issues. She delights in supporting companies in becoming hope spots and helping people transform the mundane into magic. She believes her contribution to building a livable, equitable future is by trojan-horsing capitalism. Giddy up!
Kristy has developed disruptive, future-focused impact plans for companies internationally. She has transformed NIMBY’s into investors, worked with underdogs to transform public opinion from rejection to acceptance, and performed supply chain impact measurement for disruptive agricultural companies in the jungles of Latin. The team at Decade have supported over 150+ companies in redefining how they can leave the world better than they found it and 60+ companies in achieving B Corp certification.
Every month we like to ask our speaker a handful of probing questions to give us a deeper glimpse into their life and relationship with creativity:
How do you define creativity and apply it in your life and career? Working with companies to identify, pluck, and strengthen the threads that tie products and services to purpose, regeneration, and renewal is how my creativity manifests. This work requires an aptitude for both the darkness and the light; each presenting their own unique creative challenges. Creativity makes it possible for us to scenario plan runaway climate change and cascading systems collapse, and have the wherewithal to imagine, design, and actually build regenerative systems that ensure there will indeed be a future. Creativity is more than art and beauty and all those things; it is the ability to look into the darkness and the endurance to create something beautiful and good and necessary. Creativity is relentlessly loving.
Where do you find your best creative inspiration or energy? People and their stories and infinite possibilities. Right in the centre of those three things. I get these butterfly-in-my-chest-moments when people share the truths they have revealed as they deepen their expertise… it’s in those passion spaces, other people’s passion spaces, that’s where I light up. I’m always moving between the present and future tense for folks. My greatest joy is holding up a mirror to them – “Look at your greatness! Take it in. That’s you! That’s what you’re here to do! Now, let’s get to work.”
What’s one piece of creative advice or a tip you wish you’d known as a young person? That creativity and thinking sideways are superpowers.
Who (living or dead) would you most enjoy hearing speak at CreativeMornings? Carl Sagan
How would you describe what you do in a single sentence to a stranger? I help businesses embed social, environmental, and economic justice in their products and services so that every time they turn a dollar, something is left better than they found it.
If you could interview anyone living or dead, but not a celebrity, who would it be and why? Carl Sagan
What myths about creativity would you like to set straight? That creativity is for artists… I work with entrepreneurs and those folks create a lot of something from nothing and sometimes figure out how to embed justice in capitalism. I’ll take an impact business models are radical creativity.
What books made a difference in your life and why? “The World we Made” – we all need a glimpse of a world made better. “The Council of Animals” – I think humans should eventually be judged by the creatures. “Never Let Me Go” – I don’t want to give anything away. “1984” – Do I need to explain this one? “Hillbilly Elegy” – This story hits dangerously close to home.*
If you could open a door and go anywhere, where would that be? The future… obviously…
What music are you listening to these days? Lana Del Ray, Jose Gonzalez, Sault, Sigur Ros, Beck, Michael Nyman, Max Richter, Carol King, Solange, The Weakerthans.
What was the best advice you were ever given? There are three: 1. Never, ever, get good at anything you don’t love. 2. You’ll have three best friends in your life, make one of them your life partner. 3. When you buy quality, you only wince once.
What is the one movie or book every creative must see/read? First, for those needing some inspiration and magic in their lives, “In and of Itself” – Derrick Delgato. You’re welcome. Second, for those trying to steel themselves for an uncertain future and need a taste of the sublime – “Meloncholia”. I’m sorry.
What keeps you awake at night? Late-stage capitalism, climate chaos, perimenopause…

Now that I've watched episode 6, twice, I think I can get some thoughts in order
1. Who the fuck decided on that framing on the very first scene!? Brilliant choice, hats off to you. Keep reminding us of Aemma and of what was done to her.
And don't think I didn't notice the way Viserys kept her signet ring, wearing despite it not fitting, and kissing it! It's well established that I have feelings, stop poking them with sharp sticks.
2. Leave it to Rhaenyra and Alicent to pull power moves around childbirth and breastfeeding. Remember when these two liked each other?
3. The dragon pit scene! The worldbuilding it establishes, cute tiny Vermax, compared to (later shown) ancient Vhagar. Boys will be boys, but that pig scene felt so cruel towards Aemond. Aegon is a little shit (he's such a Joffrey!) and not that bright of a little shit at that.
4. Alicent, my dear, your kids may look like Targaryens, but seven hells they're all a little fucked in the head aren't they? Imagine her frustration before two, now three, healthy and sound of mind "Strong" boys. (They're Targaryens because of Rhaenyra, their claim comes from their mother, who sired them shouldn't matter, but alas I digress)
5. What the fuck is wrong with Daemon? That was not devoted husband and father Daemon, and it was supposed to be. Mate, get yourself together and console your daughters!
6. Why did you have to go and change Laena's story? I knew we weren't going to have her for very long, but why change her end? Why suicide by dragon when we could have had the longing for that last flight she never had?
7. LARYS MY BOY! Talk about an underdog, a dark horse, he's all of it and then some, and he's freaking creepy and I both want to leave the room and keep watching. Alicent realising who's she's really working with now? Priceless.

God I hate the fact that techno being trapped in prison is the worst thing that's happened to him and all signs point to him destroying the prison. And the shittiest thing is that yeah. The prison isn't fucking good. Him failing in destroying it would not be an actually good or satisfying thing. But at the same time him succeeding is just as fucking bad. Because. Great. Once again, nothing that could possibly keep Technoblade in check.
Like. Can this man ever just take an L? PLEASE?!?!
Like. I don't want him to succeed in breaking dream out and destroying the prison and once again asserting himself as queen bee of the server. Because Ew.
But also. Him failing this? Him destroying lmanberg twice and being a threat to snowchester without any repercussions, doing so easily and succeeding? Two factions that we know are morally grey at worst but generally "in the right" when considering sides?
But then failing to destroy the prison, which is genuinely on the dark grey side of the spectrum? Losing against something that stands for corruption and abuse and the failings, both morally and also just. Physically? Losing against that? Fuck that.
No.
I don't want Technoblade the asshole, the douchebag, the prick, the fucking TOOL. To actually be in the right from a narrative perspective and also be the underdog or whatever.
Like. Both the prison and Technoblade are terrible, and when this conflict happens there has to be a side that's the "good one" from a narrative perspective.
And that'll have to be fucking techno and I guess by extension also fucking dream and quite frankly both of them are fucking awful people.
I don't want them to win. But I also don't want the fucking prison side to win.
Because wtf.
Like. I want someone to kick technos ass.
But I want it to be someone defending something genuinely good.
I wanted it to be lmanberg.
Or at the fucking very least las Nevadas itself.
But no it's about the fucking prison
What is this?!?!
I don't want that pig face to fucking win. I don't want him to once again, destroy what's essentially the limited protection Tommy and everyone else has from dream, only to then ride off into the sunset on his high horse and get home to his cottagecore lifestyle and have a hot cocoa while philza minecraft licks his boots clean.
But if this is actually where he fucking fails then that victory for us is gonna be so incredibly hollow and twisted
I fuckidhnskdhdjdkoshsjsk
PLEASE
CAN WE JUST GO BACK TO LIKE
I DONT EVEN FUCKING KNOW
Actually, I didn't even think of it in those terms up until now but yeah. Honestly, I won't enjoy either outcome if they're framed in absolutes, but one thing they could do to fix that is having the destruction of the prison be framed as a good thing (because it is) but make it clear that Dream being freed very much WASN'T.
And the best way to handle Techno in this situation is to have it be a fucking lose-lose situation. Like, the prison loses by being dismantled, while Techno gets bitten in the ass by freeing Dream and ignoring EVERY. SINGLE. RED FLAG.
Like, have Dream be out, and then it looks like nothing has gone bad for Techno but oh? What's that? Dream immediately kidnapped Philza and is using him as leverage to have Techno be his weapon against Sam and Las Nevadas? (and possibly a helping hand in kidnapping Tommy. Again). Oh who would have thought that he'd do something like that?
Like, don't get me wrong. I don't think they'll go down my preferred route. I WISH they did, but I don't think any of them really know what to do with c!Techno in general, because he's literally not a character, he's just a plot device. But still, until it happens I can have hope...

The Quackity Meta: Justice without the Blindfold
Tumblr media
[Anonymous asks: (DSMP) Somebody talk to me about Quackity and Eret’s character. I wanna talk about what Quackity’s views on power are with what he’s planning to do with Sam along with whatever he saw in the egg. I wanna talk about why Eret thinks reviving Wilbur is the best option for the sever to lead and their views on what a leader should be with them being the king of the Dream SMP. I wanna talk about Quackity planning to create a casino for the server to rise to the top. What does it mean to be king?]
[/rp. All mentions of dream smp members should be assumed as referencing the character, not the cc, unless specifically stated otherwise.]
At the heart of every conflict, if you look closely enough, you will find a similarity. Two contrasting ideals will reveal their own likeness, in the stage they play out their war – they both fight for the same result; to be known and followed and asserted, and in this they are the same. There would be no conflict if both sides shared nothing in common.
Lets talk about Quackity.
We'll gloss over a good deal of Quackity's history to get to the meat of this discussion, which involves Technoblade. But there are a a few lesser known facts about Quackity's early days on the server that are relevant to the discussion, like  that Quackity joined the server because of Tommy.
Namely, he joined for The Cartel, a short-lived organization comprised of him, Tommy, Tubbo and Jack Manifold, and their aims of obtaining power over the entire server by getting a monopoly on one object, the Phantom Membrane.
(Trivia: This is why Technoblade had to strike a deal with Tommy for the membranes – Phantoms are turned off on the Dream SMP now, so their monopoly actually ended up working. (Un)fortunately, Tommy traded nearly his whole supply for the priceless act of... making Techno scream really loud and talk in a funny voice. Worth it.)
However, Tommy's interest in the Cartel waned almost immediately, to Quackity's frustration. Tommy was constantly busy with his Vice Presidential duties in L'manberg. Quackity wasn't entirely left out, and he helped Tommy on multiple occaisions, but this was back in Wilbur's L'manberg, where non-europeans were strictly banned.
Quackity would slowly come to resent Tommy for this over time. He joined the server to be with him, took his side in nearly every conflict, including the ones that were L'manberg-oriented, and yet he wasn't allowed to be a citizen of his friend's own nation.
The resentment would reach a boiling point when Quackity discovered Wilbur's bid to consolidate power by running a sham election – with a one party system. Quackity challenged him, formed Swag 2020, and the rest is history...
The takeaway here is that from the start, Quackity has been shunted aside by people in power – Tommy, Wilbur, and then later, Schlatt. This wouldn't prevent him from executing his own immoral power grabs, but that trait – the distaste for people with power holding it over him, is one that would stick around, and become even more prominent later... Quackity has more reason than most to hate tyranny.
But “Tyranny” Is a word thrown around on the SMP often enough, that it's probably up there with “betrayal” and “pop-off” in total wordcount. But few use it more commonly, or more persuasively, than Quackity and Technoblade.
This begs the question: what is Tyranny in a M/inec/raft role play, and why do Quackity and Technoblade both detest it so much while still hating each other?
Well, after a moderate amount of research, I have discovered the following:
Tyranny is complicated.
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
...No, but really. Tyranny is very old concept. The words originates in, you guessed it, Ancient Greece, but conceptually, the idea goes waaaay back.
Now, that last thing I wanna do is give anyone a history lesson. I'd suck at it and I haven't done that much research. But the takeaway here is that “Tyranny” has come to be defined in fairly vague terms. We'll look at a few different ones in reference to the SMP.
Oxford dictionary defines a Tyrant as: A cruel and oppressive ruler. / a person exercising power or control in a cruel, unreasonable, or arbitrary way. / (especially in ancient Greece) a ruler who seized power without legal right.
Lets look at the first and last definitions:  A cruel and oppressive ruler; (especially in ancient Greece) a ruler who seized power without legal right.
By these definitions, one could call Quackity tyrannical during his term as Tubbo's VP. He exercises the power granted to him as a government official to spearhead an operation to execute a man without trial. He violently invades the home of a citizen and then puts said man on house arrest, and to subdue the target of this operation he threatens a pet (-a vague but ostensibly severe criminal act in the terms of m/inec/raft specifically-) and then reveals to Techno that the reason he's doing this actually has nothing to do with the crime Techno was accused of, and it is instead a ploy to consolidate power.
Quackity is leveraging his position in the government to amass power, and using that power to harm individuals (Philza and Techno,) in process. As an added bonus, his position in that government came from usurping Schlatt, a legitimately elected official. Thus, Quackity is a Tyrant.
But there, in Schlatt's government is where things get complicated.
Quackity had some power in Schlatt's government. Not the same kind as he did in New L'manberg, but arguably a more unrestrained form – Quackity could basically do whatever he wanted, as long as it pleased Schlatt. In New L'manberg, Quackity needed to convince not only Tubbo, but the rest of the cabinet whenever he wanted to initiate a new project. New L'manberg, while still maintaining a ruling class, had a far more equal distribution of power than Manberg did. It was still democratic.
And while we're on the topic of Quackity as Schlatt's VP, Quackity had almost instant regret the day of the election. He was undermining Schlatt from the start, questioning him, trying to stop Tubbo from breaking the signs that read “if you break this sign, you hate your viewers” and freeing Niki when Schlatt trapped her in Jack Manifold's house and then whispering at her to run.
Quackity only fell into step with Schlatt in the aftermath of Election day, when he saw a major desire fulfilled; the tearing down of L'manberg's walls. These walls were a symbol of L'manberg's isolationist roots that prevented Quackity from joining in the first place. It was one of his biggest promises whilst campaigning.
From this point on, up until the festival, Quackity would be in support of Schlatt. The things he did try to push back on would be downplayed and ignored, if not scorned. This period of time is difficult to pick apart where Quackity's personal morals and ideals begin, and Schlatt's influence ends. The steadily worsening abusive dynamic between them doesn't help this vagueness, either.
I point this out because I've seen people conflate Quackity's abuse at the hands of Schlatt, and his willingness to participate in Schlatt's rule as being of the same root; implying that Quackity only followed Schlatt because he was in an abusive relationship with him, when the reality is far more complicated. Yes, their relationship was a major factor in Quackity's actions, but downplaying his ambition and willingness to accept Schlatt's Tyranny when it helped him realize his own goals does a disservice to the nuance of Manberg-era Quackity.
What all of this points to is an individual who has a strong, some might say defining sense of Justice, yet also a susceptibility to Temptation. Quackity’s experiences with disenfranchisement by Wilbur and Tommy, coupled with his Dark horse victory in the election paints him in a sympathetic, even heroic light. But the way he slowly relinquished more and more power to Schlatt, and ended up indulging in the fruits of tyrannical gains when they proved they could get him what he wanted.
...
So, back to the question... Is Quackity a tyrant?
The answer to that question is a solid “mmmmaaaybe??”
It comes back to what you consider Tyranny. Quackity has never held complete power – he has always, always been scrapping and struggling and fighting to get a foothold in the machinations of the truly powerful, like Dream and Wilbur. He's very much an underdog story.
On the other hand, the times that Quackity has held positions of power, he's done some questionable shit. People like to forget that, while he was deeply disturbed by it, he wasn't exactly against Tubbo's execution at the festival. Putting Phil on house arrest and executing Techno without trial also count against him.
Like most things on the SMP, it's just complicated. Quackity's motivations run deep and aren't always obvious. He doesn't seem to want to hurt people just for the sake of hurting them, or use his power in arbitrary ways, but when he can personally justify it, the sacrifice of his moral integrity gets severe sometimes.
What it looks like is that more than anything else, Quackity wants control, and to never, ever lose his own autonomy. That is also why he despises Technoblade.
...And here we are at the Technoblade part of this meta, AKA the MASSIVE BULK OF THIS ANALYSIS. Which you can read HERE, because it’s too long to fit in just this one post.

Lucy, Ochako and Toga
Tumblr media
Hello everyone!
This is a page solely dedicated to two of my favorite female leads, Lucy Heartfilia and Ochako Uraraka. Other than both being the sunshine of their respective series, they have lots of similarities. Both of them are the underdogs and while Lucy has shown time and time again how important she is to the story, Ochako is yet to prove herself and get the big moment she truly deserves. And finally Toga! The nemesis with Ochako, two faces of a coin. So, in the appreciation of these three amazing women, I created this page a while ago and it's regularly updated with related memes, GIFs, meta posts, manga sets, and what not!
Here are some of my best-written blogs and suggestions on articles you should read if you love them!

OTP PARENT HEADCANONS PART 2
Because I'm bored.
And I want to give myself some serotonin.
And because I've put this off for a long time😅
RED QUEEN:
Shade and Coriane were never afraid of monsters under their beds because Cal would "scare them away" with a really bright flashlight.
Both children have a little bit of buidling and tinkering in them. Shade showed it by switching out lightbulbs and pointed out the ones he was putting in would be better at being adjusted than the ones before and Coriane showed it by fixing a clock.
Mare isn't exactly the best at cooking, but she's at least better than Cal. And her mother; sorry, Ruth.
Both children are excellent swimmers, much to Cal's chagrin.
Coriane remembers meeting her great Nanabel, and the smile she had at the sight of her great granddaughter.
Shade didn't really have a chance to meet her.
Both children wish they could have met their uncle on their mother's side and uncle, grandfather, and grandmother on their father's side.
Both Samos siblings are allowed to see the children, and neither of the children were excited; they'd heard "scary stories" about them and their father, who sounds scary; no, Cal didn't make it clear that Volo was dead, all he said was the Samos patriarch had fallen down and didn't get up, so they assumed that meant he couldn't use his arms anymore.
They were all pretty surprised to meet each other.
Ptolemus was more like a fun uncle than the berserker they all knew.
He did explain that Volo did indeed fall, but couldn't get up because of how high he fell.
The electricons love how entertained the children are with their lightning abilities.
Tyton is a pretty good babysitter. Coriane is allowed to stay up, but only after Shade has gone to bed.
Kilorn is not allowed to teach either child how to swim; there was an 'incident' where Cal tried to be brave and go swimming and Kilorn scared the living hell out of him.
That's fine because neither children like swimming.
Yes. Just because the children are good at swimming doesn't mean they enjoy it.
Mare has told Gisa she doesn't need to make the children outfits, but Gisa did it anyway because she loves her niece and nephew.
The court ettique stuck with Cal, which has led to him raising the children to be very formal.
SCHOOL FOR GOOD AND EVIL(I'm naming Tedros and Agatha's son Anthony):
Both parents were kind of scared Anthony was mute because he didn't start talking until he was nearly a year old. He's not mute, he just doesn't talk much.
You have to catch him at just the right moment. Anthony is completely silent around large crowds or assemblies, but with his parents he's half of a chatterbox, at least.
Anthony and Agatha can have full conversations with nothing but facial expressions.
Tedros had a hard time getting Anthony to open up to him, and decided to give the boy space for a little bit.
It was absolutely worth it for the heart to heart they had.
Hester and Anadil hate kids, but Agatha's and Tedros's little demon spawn is the only exception to that statement.
Anadil was won over by how he didn't cry and even 'said' how her rats were cute.
Hester, however, only warmed up to him when she spent a longer time with him, and after getting a chance to watch him because Aunt Sophie kept stepping in.
On one such occasion, where Anthony was surprised by Hester's watching him, the boy was overjoyed to see her, hugging her closely. He then backed up and stepped back, giving her a wave and smile. As she understood his silence better than Sophie, Hester wrote to him on a paper, 'Did you miss me THAT much?' Anthony nodded and wrote back, 'Yes!'
Sophie is not a helicopter aunt, but she loves Anthony a bit too much for his liking.
She NEVER talks about how she'd been hoping he was a girl.
Anthony isn't a fan of pink, but he doesn't hate it. Pastel is fine. Anything more vibrant makes him puke.
Both Tedros and Agatha were surprised to see how good Anthony was on horse back.
Heart attack angst moment: A former supporter of Rhian and Japeth snuck into the castle and made an assassination attempt on the royal family, more specifically Anthony. Tedros threw his son behind him and drew hus sword and Agatha shot a spell at him and proceeded to tackle him to the ground, not caring about her dress or the fact that the assailant was still armed.
Anthony colud not watch the execution because he hates bloodshed. He's a vegetarian/vegan and tries to eat as little meat as possible because he often spends time in the stables and around animals.
Agatha and Tedros are aware of this and are okay with it, though Tedros has him eat a single steak for dinner and teo eggs for breakfast once a month on seperate occasions, just so he doesn't lack any iron or protein.
To clarify, by separate occasions, I mean that Anthony will eat the steak one day and the eggs later another day within the month. After that, he can indulge in as much vegan/vegetarian food as he wants.
Have fun trying to convince Tedros and Agatha to let him attend the SGE; it's not that they have unpleasant memories, they just want him to try and have as normal of a life as possible.
On a walk, and when the Tagatha child was a teen, Tedros noticed some girls trying to flirt with Anthony and that his son barely reciprocated their actions. He pointed out that they were showing an interest in him, and Anthony admitted that he knew and he just didn't really feel the same way; he didn't exactly see why they were so flirty when he didn't feel like giving it back to them.
NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS(The triplets I'm naming Jacob, the eldest boy, Luna, the middle girl, and Daemon, the youngest boy):
Jacob is 98% the triplets' father; he'd be a spitting image if it weren't for his mop of hair, he's sharp as a whip, but still puts the E in idiot(please tell me you git that Jenna Marbles reference!!!).
Luna is arguably the smartest, but good luck getting a, 'you don't say' out of her. She won't tell you she's smarter than you, she will show you. Good thing Jack and Sally keep her in check.
Daemon is the family's "underdog." He has the last minute, 'this will work,' Jack Sparrow plans. He's quiet, he sews, he sings, and if he's not trailing behind Jack, Sally, or his siblings, he's probably touching up his clothes.
Jacob was the idiot kid that got electrocuted to the point his red hair turned black. He barely remembers it, but now all he tastes is cold peanut butter. Daemon has often suggested and offered to do it again, but Luna stops him. Pro: he's spending more time with Luna and Jacob is safe. Con: he's spending time with LUNA and Jacob still doesn't remember.
Jacob, as the oldest, attends 'meetings' with Jack and the Mayor. It doesn't bore him, he just gets tired of the Mayor's whining.
Jacob doesn't get Christmas. Luna has the basic idea of it. Daemon is the only one that understands, but doesn't explain it fully out of spite; Jacob called him scatter brained because of an incident where, at the table, a cockroach crawled out of his eye socket.
Daemon is the only one of his siblings to have eyes.
Even though she's literal bone, Luna has stitches that are very close to Sally's.
Neither Jack nor Sally have nicknames for the children, besides terms of endearment.
You know you're in trouble when Jack looks at you and looks ready to dig your grave himself.
All three triplets have Jack's fire power, but no one's gotten hurt because of it, even though Jacob and Daemon had one close call.
Neither parent would ever even dream of raising a hand against the children.
It's safe to say that Luna and Sally use common sense the most out of all five of the family members.
Daemon smells like pumpkin and cinnamon. He finds both himself, cinnamon bark and small, apple-esque pumpkins, and eats them like skittles and popcorn.
Another result of the electrocution, Jacob is hard of hearing where is left ear would be, if he had ears. He can't hear at all in the "ear." Not even a ringing sound.
The only reason Jacob doesn't like something is because he doesn't get it. At all.
Luna sees the glass as half full, Daemon sees the glass as half empty, and wonder if it belongs to someone who drank out of said glass, hence its being hald empty, and Jacob just sees a glass of water, now can he just drink the rest?
Luna, the best with herbs, has poisoned her brothers. Sally found out and she was grounded.
Daemon, to see how much he could take, dived off the roof of Dr. Finkelstein's tower. It took Jack, Sally, Luna, Jacob, and Zero all day to collect all of him. He was grounded and locked in his room.
Jacob got grounded for a few things: setting his sister on fire(no one knows who started that fight.), hiding in a morgue to scare people only to end up falling asleep, even as they tried to cremate him, and then waking up in front of the humans, pretending to be one of the hanging men on The Hanging Tree, and dancing on top of the tallest Pyramid in Egypt.
The children do misbehave sometimes, but their parents love them.
Jack and Jacob don't see eye to eye exactly, but they still get each other.
Luna loves both her brothers, but she will hang out with Daemon more than Jacob.
Daemon has a lot of glow sticks he collected and they all still glow when it gets dark. Jacob used his thinking cap and had a moment of big brain time, and drank some of the glow stick juice.
One more thing he got in trouble for.
Daemon also got in trouble, but he was allowed to keep his glow sticks.
Luna is a good singer, Daemon is a great dancer, and Jacob is the best at succeeding their father

6 Anti LO Asks
1. i would actually get the idea people look down on the underworld gods bc like yeah theyre scary and unwelcomed, but like its undercut by rachel making them the most desirable and most powerful for?? reasons?? like she wants them to be underdogs while at the same time being the best at everything, which is her issue with persephone too, she also has to be powerless and humble but also the most unique and powerful. she wants us to root for them when they have no actual struggles.
2. i dont take reviews for anything, tbh. the "professional" reviews LO got were all by people who are also at the same printing house, so theyre literally paid to say something nice for marketing even if they dont like it (i work in publishing, we do this all the time), and amazon reviews arent regulated, so of course LO stans will flood it to fluff it up. thats what let's play fans have been doing too for years now too, despite it being wattpad markipiler fanfic.
3. I know comparing characters isn’t right but honestly LO has enough wrong going on I won’t feel bad. Persphone isn’t interesting on her own in LO. A lot of her character is having things happen to her except for flirting with Hades and killing mortals (and maybe running away as a reaction to Zeus). Persphone we are told she is smart, naive, powerful but powerless. Her character literally is whatever RS thinks fits the chapter the best. Persphone has no clear goals other than wanting Hades, what’s her major? What was the next step after college? Do the other gods go to college? Why doesn’t she know what sleeping to the top means but knows so much about flirting with a man who has a gf? What was she suppose to be doing if she never met hades?
Although the other female cast may not be likeable, they do actually do stuff that drives their own character
Minthe may have fallen into a shitty relationship with Hades, but she feels sick about the ring and treats Hades because he doesn’t listen to her. She leads Persphone to the wrong location cause she doesn’t like her. She fights hades (not a good thing but does something to the plot)
Daphne has Persphones background, grew up in the mortal realm. However she’s a lot more interesting. Demeter probably isn’t strict with Daphne, but Daphne is now and influencer with business deals and when forced to Dave Apollo bits and threatens him. And even before with Apollo wanted to find out her own opinions on the guy.
Hecate isn’t a main character but enjoys to be in the plot and leaves the plot as she pleases, she’s support but also seems like there more to her than shown. She likes chaos, gardening, and expanding her knowledge.
Aphrodite, drove the plot with the drugs and car thing, NOT A GOOD THING but actually did something. Was looking for her husband, testing her son may not be the best character but actually leaves marks on the story telling despite not showing up a lot.
Artemis, invites Persphone into her home, has always been this sliver footed hunter, was doing fine before persphone, but also has her own family issues
Demeter fought in a war, has her own morals and ethics when raising a daughter, may have messed up but again actually contributes to the plot
Hera pushes HXP together and apart, has her own interesting drama, seduced Kronos and paid for it gravely, DID have an affair with hades. Not good things but contributions.
Thetis manipulates people
Persphone just doesn’t do much herself in the comic. She didn’t want to go to the party, she didn’t want the job, a lot of the plot is having her having something happen to her. The drugging, the Apollo the offers, Meg offering her clothes even. She doesn’t drive the plot other than flirting with Hades even knowing about Minthe, killing those mortals, and turning Minthe into a plant, but none of those things are even framed as wrong. It’s like even when she does make a “mistake” it doesn’t “count”
4. DID HADES ACTUALLY REALLY HONESTLY SAY ZEUS' RAGE IS MISMANAGED!?!
5. Since we’re talking about self-inserts, hell, I have like 3 characters in my book that can be argued to be my self inserts. But the difference is that while I project onto them plenty, I still remember they are my CHARACTERS, not me. I give them flaws, I write them how I would any other, and I make them suffer consequences when needed. There’s a difference between that and whatever the hell RS is doing with Persephone
-----FP Spoilers-----
6. Not to beat a dead horse but even with Hades saying he misspoke in calling Persephone his wife - considering they arent dating and have only known each other for a short time period, it still sounds weird, right? Like in the newer chapters (I think) Hades and Persephone discuss going on a "first date" after the trial is over which would be fine - except A). It sounds as though even if Persephone gets a punishment (like lets say its a Prometheus treatment kinda thing) that they'll just go behind Zeus' back + authority to go on dates anyway, regardless of punishment or not, and B). Hades calling Persephone his wife indicates that despite not even being on a proper date or even knowing her all that well that he already thinks of her as such, which seems a bit presumptuous considering everything thats been happening.
Also ive seen claims far and between that months have passed if not a year since Persephone went on the run / the beginning of the comic - does anyone have a source for that? (The timeline makes everything confusing).
Also, I was told that the trial doesnt take place in the underworld - that it actually takes place in Olympus?? Anyone got a source? Pls and thanks.
From OP, not Anon: From the episodes currently on FP, the trial does take place on Olympus. The underworld is in a constant state of darkness and the place where the trial is being held shows it's visibly daytime. Also, it hasn't been months or a time skip. Some people were confused by Hades's wording because he said 'months'. Saying weeks would've been way better and less confusing.

Legendary 4.5 Morgan!Reader.
Tumblr media
Being up at night is kinda your thing. It was like that even before everything.
Still, things became worse after the accident. Sometimes you lay awake in bed, feeling lost and unable to breathe. You don’t really cry, but the pain consumes you like a fire until your lungs burn. It’s then you wish with everything you are to wake up, to be in a world where she’s still there. It hasn’t happened yet.
Sometimes you wake up gasping, the remnants of a nightmare mixing with the real world in a blurry mess. The pain turns into rage, endless anger against the world. Those nights you need to walk or work out  in order to avoid the downward spiral. Many times you’ve stared into the abyss, fully conscious that a bad decision can take away whatever is left from you.
Finally, there are nights like tonight. You wake up and the world is too quiet while your mind is too loud. Your phone says it’s barely past two am. You only managed a couple hours of sleep and exhaustion is still very much present. Nor a surprise really, but you won’t be able to sleep again. There’s practice in the morning so unless you find a way to rest, things don’t look particularly exciting.
“Scoot over.”
“What?”
Your head snaps up towards the voice of your best friend. You can only see her silhouette in the darkness of the room. There’s no need to see her face to know she’s rolling her eyes at you with your lack of understanding.
“Move, Morgan. I’m not gonna stand here all night.”
Apparently, your body complies before your mind can process exactly what Janice wants. You move and she slips under the covers, pulling you close to her before you can try to complain. This is something you haven’t done in a long time; a hand on your waist is enough for your shoulders to relax a bit and you sigh in contentment.
“I’m sorry,” you whisper after a second, “didn’t mean to wake you up.”
A scoff is the thing you get as an answer. Janice knows you don’t do it to bother her. There are some things you can’t control, and she has always been there to make it better one way or another. Her slight annoyance is at your need to apologize, to take the blame for things you can’t be blamed for.
Still, she holds you tighter.
Your bad sleeping habits aren’t something new, but they haven’t been this bad in a long time. So, she worries. She does so because Janice is your best friend; you’ve been attached by the hip since you were born and it’s no wonder she knows you better than anyone else.
“What’s going on, Y/n?” She asks quietly.
Right then and there it’s the two of you with no one else to judge you. You’re safe and comfortable enough to open up to her, to share what’s in your mind and the things that make your heart heavy.
“I’m trying to let go.”
At some point everything you’ve been bottling up was bound to come crashing down on you. Crying on Sonnett’s shoulder can’t fix everything, you’re aware of that. But it’s a breaking point, the realization that you can’t keep going as you were without it taking a toll on you.
You built walls to protect yourself, to not feel the pain even when you were choking on it. And instead of keeping the sorrow out, you were drowning on it.
Your team came knocking on the door then. They threw you a lifesaver and opened a window to let all of that pour out. Taking care of the aftermath is on you, to put the broken things back in place and get rid of those that simply can’t be fixed.
It’s not easy, but it’s necessary.
Trying to process your emotions during the World Cup is perhaps the worst timing. It messes up your already screwed sleeping schedule, but well, it’s not always too bad. You’re learning things about yourself you didn’t know before, and rediscover those you forgot.
You’re becoming a better you instead of the shell you were so adamant on being.
You weren’t alone after Alex died, but the place you had considered your home was nothing more than a house. Suddenly, soccer was the sport Alex loved and little more. Sure, it was an escape, but also a prison; leaving you stuck between a rock and a hard place.
You want the world to see you as more than just her daughter. At the same time, you don’t want them to forget her. Not when she did so much to inspire a revolution for equal pay, respect and overall appreciation for the sport. Not when her name is associated with the highest honors; world cups and Olympic medals, golden balls and boots and MVP’s.
Not when she means everything to you.
“You don’t have to let it all go.”
Some things might not be perfect now or ever, but they’re still worth holding onto.
“That’s what I’m trying to figure out.”
“I know it’ll take some time still, but...you’re alright, Y/n. I promise.”
You mean to keep the conversation going, instead you yawn and rest your head on Janice’s shoulder. If her arm gets numb, she’s gonna have to shut it, or unceremoniously shove you off at seven am as you realize when you wake up abruptly.
You only open your eyes long enough to glare at her.
“Jerk,” you mutter lovingly.
“Go back to sleep, Morgan,” she retorts with a good natured laugh.
It’s a very, very, tempting offer, but you fight it off for another second.
“Thank you.”
Your words are almost silent, but you know she heard you when she pats your head. You’re already half asleep when you hear her answer.
“Got you.”
*****
“Oh my God! Is this how a fully rested Y/n is like?” Janice pants while trying to keep up.
“Yup.”
After practice ended, you stayed behind with one of the coaches for some extra work. Then Janice decided to join along with Press, Long and Krash. Before you knew it, the whole team had additional training. However, all but Janice yielded at the forty-five minute mark; too tired to keep going.
“I’m so not sleeping with you again then.”
“You could’ve left with the others,” you taunt.
“As if. Someone has to keep you in check here. Otherwise you’ll work out till tomorrow.”
“I wouldn’t go that far.”
You doubt anyone can last that long, but you’re one of those that would probably try. It’s not the hill you wanna die on so you smile sheepishly at Janice when she makes another remark.
“Last five minutes?” You ask.
“Yes! Thank God!”
You can’t help but laugh at Janice’s antics. She’s still her usual self, and you wouldn’t have it any other way.
You slow down in those last minutes, to get your breathing and heartbeat slowed down gradually before stopping.
“We should visit the zoo.”
“Pretty sure I’ll only be visiting my bed after this.”
“Not today, you moron.” You say rolling your eyes. “But you know, next day off?”
“Yeah, I’d like that.”
Finally getting off the stationary bike, you stretch before downing the rest of your water battle.
“Come on. It’s time for the ice bath.”
“Hasn’t this been torture enough?” Janice asks dramatically.
“Hurry up, O’Hara. You’ll thank me in the morning.”
“If I don’t kill you first.”
“Oh, shut up. You love me.”
“Sadly.”
*****
“This is the most challenging match this team will face in the group stage. Germany was a tough challenge, but going against the host of this World Cup will tell us the chances to advance through the next round. Australia has grown while the USA went to less, and they’re the contenders for the title. If the USWNT wants to win it all, they have to go through this team first.”
“We must also consider the player rotation the USWNT will have on this game. That will certainly add to an already complicated game.”
Your heart beats along with the music in your earphones. It’s a way to keep your nerves at bay before you can finally make it out of the locker room. You’re on the bench for the day, but that doesn’t dwell your excitement of the game.
“Listen, guys!” Sonnet calls as you group around her and Pinoe. “We know the Aussies are good but so was Germany. So was Brazil, but we got the results we wanted. This won’t be different. We’re part of the group of death, and we’re conquering.”
All of you nod and cheer in agreement while Pinoe takes the lead.
It’s wild to say but you’re the underdog of this competition. However, this position allows you to be the dark horse.
No one expected you to win the first two games.
No one expects you to win against Australia.
No one really believes that you can win the World Cup. Not yet.
But you’re here, ready to fight to the last minute and the last breath.
“You already know what you gotta do on the field, now it’s time to do it.”
Five minutes later the team has elected Krash as the captain once again. With one last cheer, the starting lineup make their way to the tunnel while the rest of you head to the bench.
“The final fixture of the group phase is here! And what a match it is. I think we can all agree that not having Morgan in the line-up is a surprise. Even with the much needed rotation on a tournament this important, you’d expect to see their best scorer on the field.”
“If there’s nothing stopping Y/n from playing, she should be in the game. Australia is far from an easy match, and maybe this is a sign of overconfidence from the USWNT. Their group is the group of death and even when they’re practically through with a tie here, they can’t get complacent now.”
“There’s only one way to find out. Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time for some soccer!”
The pace of the game is fast, so fast that some players can barely keep up.
Australia is the home team, they have all the advantages here, but even when they press high and seem to have the USWNT team cornered, they can’t get anything past Harris.
The goalie proves time and time again why she’s the captain. She brings security to the back of the field, and it’s there where everything begins. The defense get their heads on the game, stand tall to every onslaught and soon enough just a few balls make it through; none of them dangerous.
Then, the midfield does the same, pressing and recovering before launching forward. The game generation starts in a moment’s notice, guided by Sonnett giving instructions from the sideline. Everyone follows the plan, and soon enough they’re playing at top level.
Australia can’t get close enough, but neither can the USA.
At some point, Megan calls you to sit next to her. You do so without a word and for a long moment neither of you say anything. You watch the game in content silence.
“You remind me a lot of her,” she suddenly says.
The unexpectedness of her words forms a knot on your throat and you have to swallow harshly. Pinoe pretends not to notice, giving you a moment to compose yourself. She rarely talks about Alex; this is hard on her too. You can see it in the way her jaw clenches.
“It’s not just how you look or how you play. I know Harris is the captain, but you’re the heart. You help your team when they need it most, and they listen to you. More than that, they believe what you say.”
You listen silently, suddenly overwhelmed by emotion, but it’s the good kind of emotion.
“Alex had this fierceness in her, not a bad bitch like Kelley,” she adds, making you chuckle. “But she had a fire about her. Sure, we all wanted to win every game. But not like her. I was there in her first World Cup and I knew, I just knew, she would be something special. And I’m sure she would have been so, so proud of you. You have that same fire, Y/n. And just like I was in her first, I am in yours. You’re also meant to do great things, something special.”
“Coach, I...”
But you have no words. You struggle not to break down in the middle of the match, but you manage. Barely.
“Don’t care about what the fucking world tells you, kid. You are every bit her daughter. But you’re also every bit yourself.”
Those two concepts are not exclusive, you can be both. You are her legacy, but that doesn’t stop you from creating your own. It starts here, with this World Cup. You have to prove, not to others, but yourself, that this is where you want to be.
No, this is where you belong.
“Whatever happens, you’ll enter at the sixtieth. After half time, you’re up to warm up right away, understood?”
“Yes, ma’am.”
“Good. Now, let’s keep pushing.”
*****
“That’s the end of the first half! It’s been a rocky game so far. Australia is a very competitive team. They have speed, agility, and a lot of talent on their ranks. But I think we’re seeing a USWNT that knows how to play each match. Even without Y/n on the field, they were able to keep the game even.  I see potential on this team, but will it be enough to win it all?”
“Well, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. They’re not losing, but they’re not winning either. There’s still forty-five minutes to go, and several matches on this World Cup if they want to do something really meaningful. There’s a long road ahead if they wanna be anything like the Golden Team.”
You take a deep breath once it’s your time to warm up.
The rest of the world fades away as you crack your neck and Janice soon joins you to start. You’ll be the first two substitutions. You wanna strengthen the midfield and push forward with absolutely everything you have.
Maybe Alex isn’t physically there, but she’s in everything that ultimately makes you, you.
You warm up and remember when you joined your first little league team, with Alex holding your hand as you jumped around in excitement. You remember your first cleats with the same colors you wear now; a Christmas gift that made your eyes shine with awe.
You remember training with her when you had an important match in highschool and going out for dinner no matter the result.
Alex always had your back and now it’s not different; her number is now yours. As yours is the responsibility to continue what she started more than two decades ago.
She gives you strength and when you finally wait by the sideline to enter the game, you let go of the fear. You let go of the anger and even most of the pain.
It becomes a dull ache that you doubt will ever go away completely. But it’s better than the overwhelming grief you’ve carried on your shoulders all this time. You let go of the doubts and accept that they’re looking at you hoping to see a bit of the magic she had.
You’re not completely sure if it’s the same even after Rapinoe words. But you have magic, not just as individual players but as a team, and you’re here to prove it.
You look at Australia and don’t see them as the host anymore.
This is the World Cup. This turf is your home. You came here to stay until the end. And it wouldn’t matter if the World Cup was in Russia, South Africa, Japan or Argentina. The World Cup is your place. Soccer is your language, and lucky for you, is universal.
“Morgan has entered the game. What can she do with limited time?”
Australia’s defense is solid like a wall.
You…you are a wrecking ball.
A fistbump is exchanged with Janice and you take your place waiting for action to resume with a corner kick in their favor.
The whistle blows and the ball soars straight into Krash hands. You exchange a look and a nod with her before rushing up.
You enjoy the rush of adrenaline, pat one of your teammate’s shoulders on your way to the midfield and they understand to follow as you run past them. It’s something simple, quick and effective that draws the entire team into action.
The best way to wreck their defense is to use their offense against them. A high speed counter attack and they have no time to react. You see Long with the ball on the far right, she sees you on the left and you know exactly what’s going to happen.
Her pass is flawless as you enter the box from the left into your mother’s favorite definition zone. You see the last defender get lost in the play while the goalkeeper tries to close the angle. And she closes it, if you were to shoot with the right foot.
However, your mother had a saying.
Practice the left.
The goalkeeper has zero chance to stop the ball as it finds its way into the net.
“That’s a goal! And what a goal it was. A magnificent shot from Morgan that could simply not be stopped.”
“She had created the space, and she didn’t waste it. It was a fantastic play from end to end that gave Australia no time to react. And I think we all saw a goal in true Morgan fashion with the first ball Y/n touches after being subbed in. With only fifteen minutes to play, I feel that this team is close to being group leaders.”
“What will this mean for them?”
“In the big picture? Little. But it’s a better chance facing the next round. They have some big names, and they got some big results. However, for a team with so much story as the USWNT, nothing but the title of Champions can be considered a Victory.”
“Do you think they have what it’s needed?”
“...Maybe.”
The team is all around you in a matter of seconds and you jump into Harry’s arms. Her assist was just sublime and you wouldn’t have had a chance otherwise. So you hug her tightly while everyone else cheers.
It’s just one goal, but in a game that has been so close and with little opportunities, it can very much mean securing the last three points.
But you keep pushing. You keep trying. There’s no way you’ll leave victory to chance when you’re close enough to grab it with both hands.
In the end, one goal is enough. The game ends and you get the win to go into the next round as group leaders. More than that, you feel like titans in a world of heroes. You’re ready for the glory, and there’s absolutely nothing and no one that can get in your way.

As Edelgard had requested, Hubert conveyed her rallying message to the rest of the remaining Eagles. They are the underdogs in this competition, and Hubert knows that brute force alone won't pull them ahead. They need a strategy, but he realizes that their placement is also unfavorable, as the Deer and Lions both have the advantage of terrain. Then a snap from a branch. Not expecting an enemy so far behind enemy lines, he fires a spell into the underbrush. [Roll: 3+2 [+dex], -0HP, 3/3HP]
As the second round of the battle begins, Azelle chooses to forgo Herleifr and let his horse get some rest, going it on foot from now on. While he may lose out on fast mobility, it also has its advantages, as he ventures behind enemy lines to asses the situation.
He spots the second in command of the Black Eagles, and hesitates; that is the House in which he has, so far, held fewest lectures, and thus he is not quite as familiar with its students. The tall, black-haired man, however, emanates an aura that the Velthomer, to his displeasure, recognizes -
          - the aura that he has, ever since arriving in Fodlan, tried to get himself familiar with and used to, repeating, like a mantra, that it is not evil, it is not evil, Salem showed you it is not evil -
A branch snaps under a careless step and the student instinctively responds with a spell fired in his general direction.
Miss; Azelle HP: 3 → 3
It looks like he attacked before actually seeing Azelle, as the strike is not aimed particularly well and the redhead avoids it just fine with a quick jump to the side, but even so, he feels his hairs standing on end.
Yep, that was Dark magic alright.
          - it is not evil, it is not evil, it is not evil -
He straightens himself up, a deeper breath helping him clear his thoughts and gather himself back together. A quick incantation, uttered in his mind rather than out loud, summons a flame to him. An ever so faint smile creases his lips as he feels the air temperature around him rise a little.
“My, I’ve been spotted. Oh well”, he says, attempting (and likely, at least partially, failing) to sound casual, before launching his own spell at his newfound opponent.
Roll: 20, crit. Atk boon. Predicted damage: 2.5
...He may have overdone it a little.
That or he got more nervous from meeting a Dark Mage in battle than he thought he would.
...Well. Class is in session, either way.
