Okay, some fics that I love that make me happy in no particular order just off the top of my head:

1) Looking For Knives (I Was Looking For You) by downjune (M, 3.4K, Friends to Lovers, Peril, Bucky Brings a Knife to a Gun Fight) - Bucky didn’t have a gun to return fire. He didn’t even have pants.

2) warm blood (feels good, i can't control it anymore) by @notcaycepollard (E, 4.5K, Fluff, These Assholes Who Love Each Other, Accidental Cuddling) -

Sam's just chilling watching TV one evening when Bucky comes in and stares at him silently for a minute or two before sitting down on the couch. He's pretty close to Sam. Okay, he's really close to Sam. Like, Sam would be using the word 'cuddling' if it wasn't so bizarre. "What," he says, carefully not looking at Bucky, and Bucky huffs a sigh. "Steve's not here," he says as if it's obvious. "Don't make it weird. Just- shut up."

3) baby we'll be fine by napricot (T, 2.7K, Slice of Life, Superhero Problems, Cuddling & Snuggling) -

“Just to clarify, when you say vampires, you mean literal, actual vampires. Not, like, aliens that act like vampires,” asked Bucky slowly. “They’re literal, actual vampires, yes,” said Blade, a combination of words that Sam had never wanted to hear outside of an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. “And I’ve been fighting them since they killed my mom.” Sam couldn’t see his eyes, but Blade’s whole face went tense and his next words came like he was forcing them out. “l could really use some superhero backup.” This, Sam reminded himself, was his life now. Being Cap. Living with Bucky. Knowing about...vampires. He took a deep breath in, let it out slow. Vampires are real he tried, testing it out. It didn’t feel great. Sam discovers he's got limits on this superhero bullshit. Bucky sympathizes.

4) Water They Waiting For by @asterismall, ElleBishop, Itscalledthedistrict, @cataroo, @liminalmess, plorp, shakethishigh (Lindra), @jules-of-the-crown, Writer_Lethogica (M & E, 36.4K, No Powers, Fluff & Humor, Getting Together) - The degree of pining between Sam and Bucky is enough to drive all their friends and family off the deep end. Maybe some slippery strategic “accidents” and a sprinkling of love will help Sam realize he’s ready to take the plunge…

Okay, a lil compendium of stuff I've written that I enjoy as little pieces of comfort:

1) Buffy Burnes Ph.D. the Scientific Illustrator Roommate (M, 5K, Crack Treated Seriously, Slice of Life, Getting to Know Each Other) - Sam decides to take a break from Avengers business after Age of Ultron. He puts out an ad for a roommate on Craigslist for his new apartment in Delacroix. He gets one response from a "Dr. Buffy Burnes".

2) That's Not a Goose! (M, 2.3K, Soulmate Goose of Enforcement But It's a Falcon It's Redwing, Meet-Ugly Turned Meet-Cute, Soulmates AU) - Redwing the Second Chance Falcon matches Sam and the second love of Sam's life... in the middle of Sam's steering wheel getting stolen by said second soulmate.

3) That's My Cat! (M, 7K, Rumors About Friends with Benefits, Cat Dads, WITH SURPRISE GUEST M'BAKU???) - When Sam and Bucky are found wrestling in their underwear in the Avengers' locker room, a few rumors start to spread.

4) The Novelty Pumpkin Proposal (M, 6.2K, Gardening, Enemies to Lovers, Competitive Idiots in Love) - Sam just wanted to welcome the new guy to his neighborhood. Now, his new next-door neighbor Bucky has made a gardening enemy out of him.

5) All I Want for Arbor Day is You, Baby! (M, 4.2K, Holidays, Kisses, Getting Together) - Or, the seven times Bucky and Sam could write off kisses and the one where they have to admit their feelings for one another.

A few sick fics if you want those:

1) The Meeting of Branchus and Apollo (E, 5K, Mission Fic, Stuck in a Cabin, Silent Films) - Sam and Bucky take shelter in an old Howling Commandos safe house as they recover from a quinjet crash.

2) you know misery loves company (E, 4.6K, SamSteve and SamBucky Hinge, Bucky and Steve Take Care of Sam, Friends to Lovers) - Steve and Bucky have been vying for Sam's attention for months now. It's become a little ridiculous. (this is also part of a series of SamBuckySteve fics I wrote with them as a hinge)

And for a little longer fics if you're in the mood for that, here are a few too:

1) Bucky Quest (G-E, 302K, Canon Compliant, Fluff, They're Bi Your Honor) - Sam Wilson's out on his search to find the infamous Winter Soldier shortly after the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. What he finds isn't what he expects.

2) The Tush Collection (M-E, 11.8K, Fluff, Crack, Tushes) - A collection of fics based on the photos in this post by @hot-chocolates-world.

3) The Single All the Way-Verse (M & E, 29.6K, Holidays, No Powers AU, Single All the Way AU) - Desperate to avoid his family's judgment about being single, Sam tries to persuade his best friend Bucky to pose as his boyfriend on a trip home for the holidays.

4) My Best Friend's Brother (M & E, 12.2K, No Powers AU, Strangers to Bucky Takes Care of Sam, Running Through the Airport to Say I Love You) - When med school student Sam Wilson comes home to Delacroix after years of being away due to an incident during his rotations, he reunites with Bucky Barnes, the older brother of his best friend Becca.
