Hi, Hi, Thank you for answering! Since you said you accepted multiples characters i may ask for Ace, Zoro, Shanks if possible Marco with a s/o who during their relationship never show any signs of jealousy nor even possessiveness, very laidback. Yet one day/night, the boys just witnessed their s/o jealousy for the first time. And if possible the s/o’s jealousy is mostly staying deadly quiet with a disappointed gaze, but not cold treatment though. Or something like that? Thank you, thank you, I hope I did not asked characters you aren’t comfortable with :(
DESCRIPTION: They finally see you jealous
WARNINGS: some slight angst but it all ends happily for everyone
CHARACTERS: Ace, Shanks, Marco
WORDS: 2,453
A/N: Thank you for this request! I hope each scenario was different enough for you and that you're happy with the result for this ask
*REQUESTS ARE OPEN*

ACE
If Ace were to find a partner, he couldn’t get anyone better than you. You were his closest friend before you both became aware of your deep romantic feelings for the other and both confessed, allowing things to effortlessly progress into a romantic relationship. With you Ace knows he is safe and free to be himself, just as you can be yourself without judgement. Because you were both friends before becoming a couple, you both are content to spend time together while also being apart. You both can spend an evening in a bar with the other Whitebeard Pirates and hardly say a word to each other until its time for you both to return to the ship. Because of the fact neither of you cling to the other for the entirety of the night, it can lead to some misconceptions about the relationship you both have to an outsider.
One evening you returned to the Moby Dick after being sent out on a solo mission by Pops. As usual the deck was lively and filled with laughter and chatter. You noticed some new faces to the crew, making a note to properly introduce yourself to the new recruits after you spoke to Pops. On your approach you slowed to see one recruit standing very close to Ace, who merely smiled at them with his usual friendly smile. While he couldn’t see the lust in his admirer’s eyes you could see it clearly. “So you’re my commander? I’m so lucky to be under someone as handsome as you.” She smirked and Ace laughed, while you rolled your eyes, continuing to walk forward.
Marco spotted your approach first and called out your name in greeting. Immediately Ace looked over excitedly only for his smile to drop when he spotted the look in your gaze. Normally you were as excited as he was when you were reunited but now you seemed almost disappointed. Worry flipped in his stomach and he reached out towards you but instinctively you pulled your arm away and continued to walk. “I have to talk to Pops first. I’ll catch up with you after.”
“Looks like someone’s in the doghouse.” Izou teased when he knew you were out of earshot.
“Can you blame them? They go for a couple weeks and come back to Ace flirting with another person.” Marco chimed in with a feigned look of disapproval while Ace became panicked and looked between his fellow Division Commanders. Did you really think that? Was he really in trouble? Worse still, was his relationship with you at risk because he hadn’t realised one of the recruits was flirting with him again?
Acting on impulse he immediately raced up the deck and slid to a halt beside you, hooking an arm around your waist and hauling you off of your feet. “Sorry, Pops! Emergency!” he called out over your shouts, ignoring them and the whooping cheers as he carried you below deck to your shared room to speak in private. When you were set on your feet you lightly shoved Ace. “What the hell did you do that for?” You demanded only to blink in surprise when Ace threw himself onto his knees and wrapped his arms around your waist, staring up at you in desperation. “Please don’t end things with me! I promise you’re the only one I want, I’d never throw what we have away. I swear I didn’t flirt back. I’d never-”
“I know Ace.” You stopped his rambling with a small smile and lightly setting your hand on his cheek. “You never realise when anyone flirts with you. This isn’t the first time I’ve seen someone throw themselves at you.”
“But that look on your face…and Izou and Marco said I was in the doghouse…”
“Yeah I don’t like seeing someone flirt with you but I know you’re loyal to me.” You shrugged. “As for those two, they’re just bored. I wasn’t going to get mad at you for not realising someone wanted to get with you. I trust you Ace.”
“If you were mad at me though…”
“I’d tell you.” You promised before pinching his cheek and scowling. “For example, I’m not happy you dragged me away while I was in the middle of talking to Pops. But I’ll forgive you just this once because of how worried you were.” You smiled to see the relief in Ace’s eyes and suddenly became aware of the strain in your neck. “Now would you please get up and welcome me home properly?” With a grin, Ace adjusted his hold on you and quickly pulled you down to instead settle on his lap so he could lovingly pepper your face with kissed before finally kissing you with all the love he could convey. Despite you promising you were fine he needed to show that you were the only one he ever wanted this way.
SHANKS
“Oh Captain’s got his hands full again….or rather hand full.” You glanced across the bar as you entered the building to see what Lucky had been talking about and your sights zeroed in on the swarm of women around your Captain. Any that hadn’t been able to grab a chair at the table, stood excitedly close all of them listening to the current tale of adventure the crew had been on. Everyone in the crew, including yourself were used to this occurrence. Of course they’d be drawn to the handsome Captain with the roguish smile. You’d been drawn to it and fallen for his charm so you couldn’t exactly blame anyone else for it too.
Despite that you still couldn’t help the foreign, uncomfortable feeling stirring in you at the sight. Up until a few months ago, you would have joined in with the rest of the crew, teasing your popular Captain but since then you’d fallen for him and started a relationship with Shanks which some of the crew still weren’t completely aware of. Jealousy wasn’t something you’d ever really felt before seeing as your previous relationship were flings at best and you and your partner knew as much. What you had with Shanks however felt different and because of the fact neither of you had made it public or put a label on what was going on between you both, it made the feeling even more uneasy at the sight in front of you.
You walked with Lucky Roux to Shanks’ table just as he finished his story. At your approach Shanks’ eyes lit up and he grinned at you from behind his mug. “You two have some catching up to do.” He joked, while Lucky grinned and reached for the filled mug of ale offered to him, you nodded slightly and took your own with less enthusiasm as you normally would. Immediately Shanks’ suspicions were heightened, while his carefree smile remained the look in his eyes sharpened as he observed you drink steadily. A couple of the newer members of the crew rose from their seats to let you and Lucky sit at Shanks’ table out of respect to you both. Lucky took his seat without hesitation whereas you smiled and shook your head gently. Instead you drained your mug and turned to go to the bar for a refill. Shanks’ eyebrow quirked slightly and his fingers drummed against his mug while he watched you in concern. “Were there any issues Lucky?”
“Not a one, Cap’n. Ship got restocked without problem and the locals reported no trouble since our last visit here. Everyone’s happy.” Lucky reported with his usual smile before returning to his own conversation with Hongo. Shanks glanced at you from across the room again, watching as even with your new drink, you remained by the bar, sipping it slowly and staring at nothing. Shanks finished off his drink and moved to stand only for one of the women fawning over him put a hand on his shoulder, insisting they’d go and get the drink for him only for the others to pipe up too, leading them to bicker over who would get him a refill. “No, no, I’ll go myself, it’s fine. You all stay and Ben here will tell you of my best battle, won’t you Ben?”
At the promise of another story, Shanks was able to get away from the table without being followed by his admirers and he let out a sigh when he was out from the crowded presences and now standing beside you, fully noticing the difference he felt in the comparison of the two feelings. While he waited for the bartender to see to him, he glanced at you and saw your far-off look. “What’s wrong?” he asked.
“I’m staying close to the alcohol so I can catch up like you ordered me to Captain.” Your answer was even and detached, your gaze remaining on nothing in particular on the opposite wall.
“You’ve got me worried, love.” At that pet-name you finally looked at Shanks. Unable to help yourself you glanced behind him to the table filled with people still waiting for him to return before returning your stare to his face.
“It wasn’t my intention to worry you or ruin your fun. I was keeping my distance specifically to avoid that.” You explained and Shanks finally realised what the problem was. You were jealous, over them? People who paled in comparison to you in every way.
“My fun’s only ruined if you’re not with me.” Shanks murmured closing the small space between you both. He saw the hesitancy in your eyes and he gave you a reassuring smile before securing his arm around your waist and kissing you deeply, the action dispelling the unease you’d been feeling instantly. Over the sound of the crew whistling and shouts of others to pay up because of a bet neither you or Shanks were aware of you broke apart from the kiss and smile when he lay his head against yours. “Should’ve done this a long time ago when I finally got you.”
MARCO
You knew what you were getting into when you and Marco gave into your attraction for each other. You knew that his time would be taken up mostly with caring for Pops on a daily basis and the other members of the crew when they were sick or injured. Any free time he would have was precious and you were never possessive of that. When he was able to spend time with you he did and your patience was alway appreciated from him. Sometimes when he’s overloaded with work you stop by to offer him some food and sit in his office for an hour or so, just to enjoy each other’s presence. You don’t need to talk, just being there is enough for you both.
On this occasion you hadn’t seen Marco because of a nasty flu making its way through some of the crew and after a few days without seeing his face, you’d grown to miss him. So you made your way to the medical office and your step faltered when you heard the familiar sound of his laughter coming from inside. Lightly you knocked on the door once and entered the room to see one of the nurses standing beside Marco as he sat at his desk. You smiled warmly when Marco seemed happy to see you but your smile fell when you spotted the empty plate on his desk. “Ah, you’ve already eaten.”
“Of course he has.” The nurse giggled, smiling at Marco playfully. “Though he would have forgotten if it wasn’t for me. As amazing as he is as a Doctor, he’s hopeless at looking after himself.”
“He’s lucky you’re here to look after for him then.” You said, unable to sound as cheerful as the nurse. Clearing your throat you looked down at the small plate of food you’d brought for your boyfriend. You knew nothing was going on between him or any of the nurses that worked closely alongside him but you still felt the jealousy growing in your chest. This was a small thing you could do for Marco and you felt childish for feeling stung that he didn’t need you. You didn’t like the feeling and needed to distance yourself from the cause. “I’m glad you’ve eaten so I’ll let you get back to your work. Don’t let him overwork himself, okay?” You forced the joke out with a tight smile while the nurse smiled brightly and nodded in joy that you were trusting her. Marco watched silently as you turned and left him. Even with his tiredness, he could still see something was wrong with you.
As soon as he completed the current task on his desk, Marco stood and stretched. After working without resting for these days, he knew no-one would begrudge him a break away from his office. Stretching out he walked through the corridors until he was walking into the room he shared with you. You looked up in surprise from your lounged spot on the sofa. Before you could react, Marco was crawling onto the sofa and laying ontop of you, his head resting against your chest as his arms encircled you, holding you close. “Marco, what are you-”
“You left far too quickly.” Marco groaned out, now that he was lying down he realised just how uncomfortable sitting at his desk was. “I missed you, sorry I was cooped up in my office all this time.”
“You’re don’t need to apologise for that Marco.”
“I feel like I do need to say sorry for something though.” he admitted, lifting his head slightly to look at you with concern. “You didn’t seem yourself when you stopped by.”
“It’s not you, it’s me.” You promised, gently running your fingers through his hair. Under his patient stare you sighed and continued. “I’m not a doctor like you or trained in anything medical. For the most part I’m fine with that because I’m good in other ways but it’s just when you are overworking yourself there’s not much I can do to help you. One of those things is taking care of you and making sure you’re eating. It’s silly but it made me jealous to see someone else doing that for you.”
“It’s not silly at all. We can’t help our emotions but I’m glad you were able to talk to me about it.” Marco smiled, taking your hand to press a loving kiss against your wrist. “Never feel like you’re replaceable. I’m only ever able to rest like this because of your influence over me. No one looks after me the way you can and you’re the only one I want.”

Heyy how are you Hope you're doing well and have some food and drink water you need it🫶
So about the request i was wondering if you would be able to make a modern au i am not really sure if you write modern au but if you don't want to make it modern au it's totally fine
It's a scenario with marco adopting a girl (maybe 10-11) who's tomboyish and making her his daughter and basically the whitebeard pirates being whitebeard company (if you write modern au) with pops as the ceo of course and them being a huge family. (I swear they are really family i want what they have💞)
i can imagine izo telling everyone you people can't handle a girl there need's to be a bit of feminine only for the girl to run away cause she found him intimidating but at the end they bond.
Also please can you include the ASL trio as if they are a part of the whitebeard family
I personally had this idea for so long and thought a lot about it that's why i want to see it come to life thank you so much for this chance🥹
Love ya
Hello my dear! So yes, I do write modern AUs, lol. Sorry I didn't get this out sooner, life has been... a pain. BUT! it's out! I hope it's alright, I had a hard time wrapping up the ending. In any case, enjoy!

Looking down at the little girl in front of him, Marco could feel his heart aching. He couldn’t imagine she was more than 10, 11 tops, but here she was, huddling under what little shelter she could find, trying to stay out of the rain. Walking in over to her, he held his umbrella out a little, covering her as well as he kneeled down. Looking up at him, e/c eyes looked up at him in curiosity and… was it… fear?
“What are you doing out here, little one? Surely you have somewhere you can go to escape the rain.” he asked softly, reaching out and placing his hand on her head. The little girl simply shook her head, looking down at the ground sadly. Marco’s expression twisted into a troubled one as he stared at her for a moment, “Come with me. I’ll get you out of this rain and get you something to eat, you look hungry.” Marco offered, holding his hand out for the little girl. She timidly looked down at his hand before looking up at him. He looked like a kind man, nothing like those who sought to kidnap her or hurt her. Tentatively, she took his hand, allowing him to lead her away.
That had been 4 months ago. After taking her to the office with him, she’d immediately stolen the hearts of all the divisions, though it was a toss up as to if HR loved her more or R&D. No, no, neither of those were correct. The ones who loved her most were Marco and the company’s owner, Edward ‘Whitebeard’ Newgate. It hadn’t taken a lot to adopt the girl, once she’d finally been willing enough to give them a name and her previous orphanage. None of them had known much about her, but it was clear that she was a little cautious, something that none of them had much cared for. She was far too young to be this distrustful of people.
Sitting in his office, Marco smiled as he watched his new daughter play in the, now renovated, room next door. The very instant the adoption papers had been signed, Pops had begun renovating what had once been an office next to Marco’s, turning it into a playroom of sorts for her so that when she wasn’t at school, the entire building could come and fawn over her instead of leaving her with a daycare, something they had all been vehemently against. Crawling into one of the human sized hamster tunnels, she was immediately off once more, ruffling the new dress Izo had gotten her. The man would sigh, but leave it be. So long as she was happy, it seemed that the rest of the office was as well.
Hearing his office door slam open, Marco couldn’t help but jump, looking up to see a familiar straw hat and smile.
“Is Y/n in here? Ace said she was in here!” Luffy asked excitedly, running towards the door to the playroom before Marco could answer. Even though the boy was a good 7 years older than her, he seemed to be her closest friend, the two of them often getting lost in the tunnels together as they ‘adventured’ across the building, the human hamster tunnels winding through almost all of the offices of the upper two floors.
“Luffy! Get back here! You made a promise to Ace and I! Homework first then Y/n!” Sabo shouted, running into Marco’s office soon after and joining Luffy in the tunnels. The older blond could only laugh as Sabo chased after Luffy and Luffy chased after Y/n. Pops had taken Ace in after the death of the boy’s parents, being Ace’s godfather. Roger and Pops might have been rival companies, but contrary to what the press often said, had been surprisingly good friends. Sabo had been taken in after Ace, Pops filing for custody against Sabo’s parents after a fire left the boy with horrible burn scars. The one he wasn’t sure of, however, was Luffy. The boy had his own home, perhaps not the most attentive father, but a good man. His grandfather had found a… nanny to take care of him from time to time, yet the boy had still wound up with Ace and Sabo more often than not. Still, it seemed to be for the best since Luffy and Y/n got along, so he couldn’t be upset.
Another bang made Marco jump, seeing Ace and Izo in his doorway.
“Marco! Did Luffy and Sabo come this way? Sabo called me saying that he was chasing Luffy and they were headed this way!” Ace asked, making the man smile.
“In the tunnels, best of luck, don’t forget to take off your shoes.” Marco said, gesturing towards the tunnels, the black haired young man soon darting after his brothers.
“She’s in the tunnels again?! But… but I just got her that dress!” Izo said with a sigh, looking down rather dejectedly, making Marco laugh.
“And she loves it… when it isn’t hindering her ability to move.” Marco said, thinking to this morning when he had her put it on for school. He wasn’t lying, she’d been rather happy with the dress, finding that it wasn’t too restrictive, it was comfortable, and it was cute.
“I haven’t even gotten to see her in it. By later today, it’ll probably be too covered in dirt and scuff marks. How is she supposed to learn to be feminine when she spends all her time around Ace, Sabo, and Luffy!” Izo grumbled, tucking a strand of loose hair back.
“I’m sure she’ll be fine. Once she warms up to you more, you’ll no doubt be able to dress her up as much as you’d like.” Marco said with a comforting smile as the man in front of him sighed in defeat.
“I don’t know why she doesn’t like me, Marco. I’ve tried being nice to her, but she always runs behind someone else.” Izo lamented, crossing his arms as he stood in the doorway.
“It’s because of your first meeting. You pushed everyone aside to meet her, carrying a dress. She figured that anyone that can push away that many people so easily while managing not to rip a dress was terrifying.” Marco said with a chuckle. Izo sighed and nodded, his shoulders sagging as he leaned against the doorframe.
“I suppose you have a point. Everyone here is rather tall, aren’t they? Well… tell her there’s some mochi in the fridge for her. It’s a recipe I learned from Toki.” Izo said, turning to leave.
“You… made me mochi?” a small voice called out, drawing Izo’s attention to the glass playroom doors. Izo smiled gently as he looked at her, nodding.
“Yes. Your favorite, in fact. Marco told me what you like, so I thought you might enjoy some in the form of mochi.” Izo said softly, his heart melting at her smile.
“Thank you, Mister Izo. I’m… I’m sorry about getting your dress dirty.” she said, moving to dust the front of her dress off as if that would help.
“It’s alright, little one. How about you and I go shopping one of these days. I’ll buy you something we can both agree on.” Izo said, feeling himself becoming putty for the little girl. Much like the others, he’d already adored her, but Marco was pretty sure she could get Izo to kill for her with that little smile alone.
“Y/n, why don’t you go with Izo now to get that mochi. You can eat it while you finish up the other half of that homework.” Marco suggested, watching Izo smile at the idea of her going with him to get the mochi. Looking down at her dress, her brow furrowed as she once more attempted to wipe the scuff marks out of the knees.
“Don’t worry, little one, I’ll get you something better when we go shopping.” Izo said softly, giving her a warm smile. Almost as if a switch flipped, Y/n was smiling at him and running over, happily taking his hand as he led her away. Marco smiled and sighed softly, watching his daughter walk towards the break room. Even as Luffy ran out of the play area, Sabo and Ace hot on his heels, he couldn’t help but find himself feeling content. The company had always been a family to him; chaotic, loud, and messy, but a family, and seeing his daughter warming up to Izo, playing with Ace, Sabo, and Luffy, and often seeing her with Pops, he couldn’t help but feel more and more like a real family. Even if the family was the entire company.

Hellooooo, it's meeeeee (remember that song?). I'm here to ask for all of the Relationships asks for Yara. Hope you're having an amazing day!
All of them? Hell yeah! (I've had so much fun with these asks you can't even imagine lol)
Ask game here!
1. What is your OC's relationship to their family - biological or found?
She has a great, very close relationship with her found family on the Whitebeard Pirates. She loves and adores Whitebeard as if he really were her biological father. There’s a line Marco had in the anime about why the WBP call Whitebeard “Pops” -- something along the lines of “Because he calls us sons. We’re all hated by the world, so it makes us happy.” And in Yara’s case, this is very true as well. She’s Whitebeard’s youngest “daughter” and gets spoiled by her “father” as such. Yara doesn’t know anything about her biological mother and only finds out about her biological father because of an old bounty poster issued before the creation of the Seven Warlords. She spends a lot of time resenting Mihawk and denying their connection until he saves her life at the end of Marineford and takes her back to his castle, where they finally have a chance to reconnect. (It’s at this point Yara learns about her biological mother, too). Post-timeskip, Mihawk and Yara have a much better relationship. It’s still a little strange, but a lot of the resentment seems to have faded away. They have the sort of relationship where they won’t talk for months at a time but then one will call the other out of the blue (probably Yara going “You let that CLOWN be in charge of Cross Guild??? Wtf were you thinking???”) and they’ll spend the next five hours on the den den mushi doing nothing but shit-talking Buggy.
2. Does your OC act differently around different people?
Not really? Yara is Yara. The only real factor on how different she is around other people is how much she likes them.
3. Is your OC a good leader? Do they like to lead or do they prefer to follow?
Yara prefers not to lead (though she’s just as skilled as the division commanders on Whitebeard’s crew, she refused to take a command position even when it was offered to her because she didn’t want one) but can and will step up in a pinch. She served as Acting Commander of 2nd Division in Ace’s absence during his Blackbeard hunt and after his capture in the Paramount War. She fully intended to relinquish the position upon Ace’s return, however.
4. Who influenced them the most on their journey?
Whitebeard. He saw promise in Yara as a young teenager and has been fostering her development ever since while also giving her the paternal love she never got growing up.
5. Do they have any siblings?
Not biologically, but she counts the other WBP as being like her siblings (except Ace, for… obvious reasons lmao). Marco is the person she’s closest to and openly refers to as a brother, despite their 20-odd year age difference. (In the anime, she would refer to him as “Marco nii-san”). Once she and Zoro train together during the timeskip, he becomes like a brother to her, too-- and Perona has decided that she and Yara are sisters now as well.
6. Are they more dominant or submissive in their relationships? (Not just sexually if even at all - Do they give in easily? Are they demanding? Are they stubborn?)
She’s very dominant and can be quite stubborn. Once she has her mind made up about something, it can be difficult to persuade her otherwise. That being said, she’s practical enough to know when to back down. But she’s no pushover and there are many things on her list of stuff she would rather die than do.
7. What type of friend are they?
Yara is fiercely loyal to her friends-- the kind who will help someone move and bury a body, lol. But she’s also brutally honest with them when she needs to be. If she thinks one of her friends is making a huge mistake, she’ll tell them. She might then proceed to go along with the mistake (i.e. allowing Ace to pursue Blackbeard while his other crewmates tried to stop him) but will at least not lie and say it’s a great idea.
8. How loyal are they?
Extremely so. Her loyalty is one of her defining character traits. Even long after the WBP disbanded, she still identifies herself with them and refuses to remove her tattoo or renounce her allegiance to Whitebeard. As mentioned above, however, that loyalty can be her undoing, particularly when she chose to remain true to her loyalty to (and love for) Ace in supporting his decision to go after Blackbeard.
9. How far would they be willing to travel for a loved one? What would it take to convince them?
Travel as in physically? Yara’s loyalty would definitely take her anywhere in the Four Seas, the Grand Line, and the New World, no questions asked. If someone that she’s loyal to asks her to be somewhere, she will be. As for how far she’d go for a loved one… Well, she was more than willing to jump right into starting a literal massive war to rescue Ace, so there’s that. The world could burn to the ground for all she’d care. All she wanted was Ace back, repercussions be damned.

Hi my honey buns! How are you doing today?!?! I want to see if I can put in a request if possible love. Can I get a scenario of Marco and fem reader introductions there newborn to there young daughter. Thank you so much if you can do this for me babes!!! Your amazing don’t forgot that❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hii val babee! How are you? I hope you like it, i tried to write something very very cute! i also put (D/N) for you to add your daughter's name.
i hope you like it! you're so sweet and an amazing person! ❤❤❤❤❤
A few years ago, you and your husband, Marco, the former 1st division commander of the Whitebeard pirates, decided to settle at a small peaceful island. After everything that happened in the past, it was time to live a quiet life and start a family together.
It wasn’t long after you got pregnant with your first baby, your daughter (D/N). She had Marco’s blonde hair and your (E/C) eyes. She was the only child for a few years, following her dad everywhere, fascinated by his work. When she wasn’t with your husband, she’d spend time with you, listening to your stories.
When your first daughter was around four years old, you got pregnant with your second child. It’s not that you and Marco were planning on having another baby just yet, but your heart filled with joy when you saw the result of the pregnancy test. Having a beautiful family with your beloved husband, and having kids was something you wanted for so long.
At first, (D/N) wasn’t fond of the news. But after talking and reassuring, she started saying how she wanted to have a little sister to play with. The older girl was a very loving child, and constantly talked to the baby during your afternoon naps. She’d also feel the baby kicking and find it so funny.
She also helped picking the perfect decoration for the nursery.
The day your water broke, Marco wanted to be the one to deliver the baby since he knew he was the best doctor for such a task. Well, he wasn’t wrong.
When you went back home, holding your newborn baby asleep in your arms carefully wrapped around a blanket, you spotted (D/N) and her babysitter sitting outside holding a little flower and a drawing for you, anxiously waiting to meet her new baby sister.
— Let me see! — she said, running towards you and smiling. — I want to see her.
— We’ll show you, but let’s go inside, yoi. — Marco smiled, leading you and (D/N) inside.
You sat on the couch, and your older daughter sat right next to you, curiously trying to have a peek. She wondered if the baby would look like one of her dolls, and already wondered when they would be able to play house.
(D/N) handed you the small yellow flower, a little “welcome home” gift. She also showed the drawing of you, her, Marco and the little baby. It was adorable and also a relief. You were concerned thinking she’d think her new sister would be the center of attention now.
— She’s cute! But she’s so little… — (D/N) kept looking. — When is she waking up so we can play, mommy?
— You were this little when you were born too, you just had a bit more hair than her. — you smiled softly, talking low so the baby wouldn’t wake up. — She’s still too young to play, my angel. But very soon you two will be running around the house.
— For now, you can help mommy and I with the baby, what do you think? — your husband smiled. — You can sing for her to sleep, show your toys and change her diapers, what do you think? — he giggled.
— No, no! The diapers no. — she made a disgusted face.
For the rest of the day, your daughter only left your side to ask Marco questions about the baby, or to have dinner. (D/N) was an angel, and tried to help the way she could, happily doing little tasks like getting a blanket for her sister. Later that afternoon, when you were tired, she took a nap with you and the baby.
At night, the oldest child wanted to sleep in bed with your and her father. How could you say no?
She snuggled between both of you, while the newborn was in the crib next to the bed. The two kids were asleep for now, while Marco and you were talking. His eyes could tell he was so happy, so in love with his family and the life he had now.
— Would you change anything? — you whispered, playing with (D/N)’s hair.
— Never. — he replied in the same tone. — Thank you for giving me this beautiful family, (Y/N).
— I love you so much, Marco.
— I love you too yoi.
You two enjoyed the silence for a while, until your youngest child woke up crying, waking (D/N) up too. You even forgot how it was to wake up in the middle of the night to take care of a little baby. But with your lovely husband and older daughter, you would have plenty of help. You wouldn’t change your life for anything in this world.

A Day In The Sun
pairing: MARCO x fem!Reader
word count: 3.3k
summary: You left the Moby Dick to go on a solo mission, from which you would never return. Two years later, when hope seemed to have drained out, a loud rubber boy appears, leading the way back to your family.
highlight: ¨I guess he´s not coming, so... tell Marco I will always love him.¨
warnings: angst, MARINEFORD spoilers
notes: This was an anon request for a ¨ [as angsty as possible] Marco with a fem!S/O who left the Moby Dick a year or two before and then they ran into each other by accident somewhere¨. I really hope you like it!♡ I feel like I chose an easy path with Marineford, so maybe I´ll try this one more time with a non-canon plot. The angst, tho, the angst!
𝕷𝖊𝖆𝖛𝖊 𝖈𝖔𝖒𝖒𝖊𝖓𝖙𝖘, 𝖗𝖊𝖖𝖚𝖊𝖘𝖙𝖘, 𝖆𝖓𝖉 𝖑𝖔𝖛𝖊!
☩
You watched the guard check the chains for the fourth time with an amused grin on your face. He pulled it, hit it, and almost wet his pants with the effort.
The funnier part was that he did all of that while trying to stay as far from you as possible.
¨So, am I getting company?¨ no answer, just a glance and a drop of sweat falling down his temple ¨Will you tell me who´s my guy?¨ he ignored you again and left.
A few minutes later, you heard the lame sound of chains echoing throughout the cold walls. You had a minute to process the silent and compliant steps before the rest of the prisoners started to yell wildly.
You observed the shadow of your new cellmate projected onto the filthy floor. Then his dirty feet when he walked by you, giving yourself the trouble to look up only when he took a seat while the guards locked him.
You let out a disdained scoff and waited for ¨privacy¨ to talk to him. He, on the other hand, never bothered to look up.
¨I would offer you something to eat, but as you can see, my hands are tied.¨ you shook the chains, hoping that the distasteful joke would make the man lift his head.
But he showed no reaction to your words. Instead, he remained leaned forward with his head down.
You snorted heavily.
¨You know, I was kind of hoping to be the only Whitebeard pirate around here.¨
That was more than enough to make him face you. His narrowed eyes watched you for a moment, trying to recollect your features in his memory.
¨Oh, come on. Did I really change that much?¨
¨Y/N!¨ he shouted and tried to fight the strains.
¨How are you doing, Flame boy?¨
☩
The heart beating inside of your chest felt like it was going to jump out of your mouth at any moment. Although you were sweating, all of the ice around you made you wish you had more clothes.
How could you be cold and sweating at the same time?
Everyone had their eyes on you. Well, not only you. But the entire troupe that fell from the sky altogether with a marine warship, the weirdest circus freaks brought directly from Impel Down. Your home for the last two years.
As soon as Luffy stepped on the ice field and started to attack marines in order to reach Ace, the real beginning of the battle began to seethe in Marineford.
You joined your fugitives comrades and jumped out the ship, but differently than the straw hat boy, you ran to the opposite side. Dodging every marine in your way to get to the Moby Dick.
Whitebeard looked at you like a proud father and let out his legendary ´Gurarara´ laugh while the Commanders stared at you as if you were a ghost.
Not that you didn´t actually look like one. Even for them, who always considered you to be one of the prettiest women they have ever seen, you looked a little bit mistreated.
Your hair was dirty and messy, your always radiant skin was dry, and the bags under your eyes were deeper and darker.
If it wasn´t for the look in your eyes, they wouldn´t have recognized you.
The spark and shine remained stoic. The will to live and to fight remained standing strong, even though the rest of you seemed to be brumbling apart.
Marco stood on Pops' right side, still showing the same anger in his eyes as when you said that you were leaving the Whitebeard Pirates. But you couldn´t focus on that. You were too busy trying not to get killed to care about his attitude.
And more importantly, you were so happy.
Every night for two years, you prayed for the chance to see them again, to brew saké among your family, and laugh in their companies. It was so close you could feel it in your fingertips.
¨Daughter, you don´t look healthy.¨ Whitebeard said when you reached the ship.
¨I guess feeding me wasn´t on the top of their list of priorities, Pops.¨ you laughed.
¨And I suppose you met the troublemaker over there.¨
¨We were cellmates, can you believe it?¨ Marco peeped into your conversation, trying to look like he didn´t care ¨He was updating me on the current Whitebeard Pirate´s activities. Said you got yourself some pretty cute nurses.¨
You elbowed him slightly in the leg, and the Emperor gave his staccato laugh you missed so much.
¨Daughter,¨ he spoke more serious ¨I know it´s a lot to ask of you right now... but we need to get that boy outta here. You´re in?¨
¨Have you forgotten who I am, Pops?¨ He smirked, already knowing your answer ¨ Of course, I´m in.¨
You looked each commander in the eyes, in a silent agreement that when this madness was over, you would answer all their questions. When they looked back at you, nothing had changed. For them, you were still the same Y/N from years ago.
☩
¨I can´t believe Pops wants to keep that brat.¨
¨We should have him thrown off of the ship.¨
¨You should cook him for dinner, Thatch!¨
You couldn´t hold the smile bending on your lips when you heard the Division Commanders talking about the rookie Pops had brought onboard.
The kid had been trying to kill him for a while now. Even Jinbe had to step in and engaged in a 5-day battle with the young pirate. That, for some reason, got Whitebeard´s interest.
You felt a warm hand embrace yours and turned to see the First Division Commander take his seat on your side. You smiled when he leaned over and gave you a habitual kiss, the kind you share when you wake up in the morning or when you meet up in the halls.
But your heart ached behind your smile. Because, although it was something usual for him, something that he would do thousands of times for the rest of his life, for you, it could be the last.
You were about the destroy everything you two had and break his heart.
But you were out of options. You knew that, and so did Whitebeard.
When the first part of the meeting ended, and Pops had explained his motives to want to keep the hot-headed boy, someone questioned him about the second topic they needed to discuss. The one he kept as a secret even from Marco.
Your heart pounded faster, and your face heated. Whitebeard frowned and gestured something, giving you the word. The weight of the sixteen commanders staring at you made you shrug and hold Marco´s hand tighter.
¨Y/N?¨ he called you with a tone of concern in his voice.
You just avoided making eye contact with him. You couldn´t face him.
¨I, uh...¨ you raised your head and stuffed your chest. You had to be cold. ¨I-I am going on a solo mission... and I am not coming back.¨
The room went totally silent for a few seconds before they began to bombard you with questions and inquires, to which you could not respond. Marco, on the other hand, remained speechless, waiting for you to tell him that it was a joke.
¨I, uh...¨ someone interrupted you ¨I am leaving tomorro-¨ another Commander cut you ¨... tomorrow morni-¨
The blast of Whitebeard´s cleaving blade hitting the floor made all of you shut.
¨The decision was made!¨ his thunderous voice cracked the wooden walls ¨And blessed.¨
Marco shot up, his chair met the floor in a loud thud. ¨Pops, you approved this?!¨
¨Son...¨ the First Division Commander scowled and started to walk out of the room.
You reached him and held his hand to stop him. He turned, staring at you furiously.
¨Marco...¨
¨Why, yoi?!¨
You shook your head, not being able to tell him what he wanted to know. Tears began to fill your eyes when he pulled his hand from your grip and left the room.
A single tear made its way down your cheek and you quickly wiped it. You couldn't turn back on your decision. Even if that made the love of your life hate you.
¨Y/N...¨ Thatch touched your arm softly ¨Are you in trouble?¨
You attempted to give him your best warm smile.
¨When am I not in trouble, Thatchy?¨
The next day when you were saying goodbye to your family, everyone was there, even the Fire-Fist boy.
Everyone but the person you needed the most to be there.
Every Commander hugged you tight, saying that if you ever decided to come back, your chair among them would be waiting.
You tried to hold your tears in the beginning, but that became an impossible task.
Pops held you close to his chest and suffered with you, for he knew the sacrifice you were about to make. And even a man like him couldn´t avoid it.
His voice roared through the four Blues when he declared, loud and clear, that you were his daughter and would be forever a Whitebeard pirate.
¨I love you guys. I love you, Pops.¨ you looked around, searching for your boyfriend ¨I guess he´s not coming, so... tell Marco I will always love him.¨
When you stood alone on the seashore, you waited. You waited until the Moby Dick disappeared on the horizon. You waited for Marco to have a change of heart and fly over to you, saying that he loved you and he would miss you.
But he never did.
☩
What happened was that you were a little rusted.
You got tired faster and weren´t as agile as before. So you preferred to keep yourself out of the line of fire, where you would disturb more than help. Your job was to back up the Division Commanders and make sure they would keep a clean path for Ace´s brother.
You wanted to be thrilled with the adrenaline of a battlefield, but you were scared. Every time Whitebeard stopped and put his hand on his chest, you feared.
That was the reason why you turned yourself in in the past, the reason why you didn´t ask him to fight for you.
He saved as much energy as possible for this war, but you knew he had started to die the minute he disconnected himself from the life support.
¨What are you up to, old man?¨ you mumbled to yourself.
Before you could do or think anything else, a sharp scream took your attention. Kizaru hit Marco with laser beams, and you noticed another Marine Officer approaching him with sea stone cuffs.
You grabbed a gun and ran towards them. Even rusted, you were incredibly fast. With an impulse, you jumped and grabbed Marco by the collar, shooting the marine with Haki-imbued bullets.
But again, too late.
Perhaps years ago, you would have been able to prevent this from happening, but at that moment, all you could do was get him out of Kizaru's sight, causing his laser to hit you in the thigh.
You turned in the air, changing your position so that he fell on you when you landed. In that battle, his life was worth more than yours, and it was your duty to offer support to the Commanders - your Commander, especially. His body had already gone through a lot of stress, and the sea stone handcuffs prevented him from using his powers.
You tried to muffle the scream when you hit the floor.
¨You ok?¨ you asked.
With so much of a glimpse he put himself to his feet, ignoring you and the blood he spilled before running back to the mess.
From that moment on, the situation got really bad, really quick. You went berserk, killing the marines like a freaking calamity. Your thigh was gushing blood, deep gashes covered your body, and your heart was torn apart.
Because despite all of your effort and sacrifice, the mission failed.
You didn´t see what had happened, but the person you were supposed to rescue, Ace, the Second Division Commander, was dead on the floor. And his brother was having a breakdown.
Ace had a peaceful smile on his face, and you thought that it would have been nice to get to know him better. From the days you shared a cell, you understood why Pops wanted to keep him. He was a pretty nice guy, after all.
☩
¨And how did you end up here?¨ Ace asked you.
¨Remember the solo mission thing?¨ he nodded, and you gave him a ´ta-dah face.
Suddenly, he got pale.
¨This... This is where you´ve been for the past two years? Why?¨
You hummed, pondering over your words.
¨I know things about the World Government that I shouldn´t. And when they found out, I got an ultimatum... I could turn myself in, or they would have thrown a buster call on us.¨
¨Y-You sacrificed yourself? But you know Pops could have handled it, right? We all could have handled it.¨
You smiled at him, deciding not to tell him the ugly truth.
The World Government knew about your knowledge regarding the Ancient Weapons and the National Treasure of Marie Geoise for a long time, but they waited to get to you. They waited until they had the perfect chance, and Whitebeard´s illness was just it.
At the beginning of his illness, he didn´t have the proper medication and life support devices, so he was vulnerable. Still stronger than all of you together but too vulnerable to deal with the Admirals and the CP-Zero.
When you took Whitebeard´s hand and accepted to be his daughter, you swore your loyalty to him, you vowed to protect your family even if it cost your life.
¨Yeah, I guess this one is on me.¨
After listening to everything he had told you, you knew Whitebeard would use the public execution to rescue him. He would not let anyone take another child of his.
That was the reason why you couldn´t tell Ace about your father´s state - not that he didn´t know, but he could be oblivious. And he would be crushed with guilt if anything happened to your old man.
¨Hum, but tell me, kid. Any chance the phoenix had already forgiven me?¨
You saw your answer in his awkward look.
¨He didn´t know about this as well, right?¨ Ace opened and closed his mouth a couple of times ¨He thought you had bailed on us when Pops needed you the most and... he still likes you, Y/N. He´s just hurt.¨
¨Yeah... okay...¨ you whispered.
¨If you´re right... and Pops comes to rescue me, I´ll let everyone know you´re here. And we´ll come to rescue you.¨
Your nose burned with the feeling of crying. Even with his powers restrained by the sea stone cuffs, he was so warm.
¨Well... I could use another day in the sun.¨ and you sobbed.
☩
But there was no sun.
There was no sun, and your father, together with Ace and thousands of your allies, were gone.
And the dream of brewing saké with your family, you did reach it, but couldn´t hold it.
When he opened a crater on the ground, separating him from his crew, you stood beside him, begging him to reconsider
¨Pops, don´t do this...¨ you whined, choking on your own tears ¨I-I just came back...¨
He looked at you in the eyes and wiped your tears.
¨My daughter... I´m sorry I failed you.¨ You shook your head and held his huge hand ¨I know you´ll take care of the boys. Your room and your seat remain untouched.¨
You couldn´t say anything else before he threw you on the other side.
Now the Red Hair Pirates were collecting Whitebeard and Ace´s bodies to assist with the funeral. Jozu scooped you in his amrs and carried you back to the ship as you cried. He walked you to your old room and put you in the bed, leaving without a word.
Inside of your cabin, you raged, not wanting to accept the fate of things. You punched the walls until your knuckles bled, you cried until your throat hurt and wished to go back in time, when you were in your dirty cell, and Whitebeard was still alive.
When do you think people die?
When they are shot through the heart by the bullet of a pistol?
When they are ravaged by an incurable disease?
No. It’s when… they are forgotten.
When the sun began to fall, you got up from the cold woodboard and reached the door, making your way to the deck.
The Commanders and the rest of the crew were scattered around, mourning their losses. The family was falling apart, and this time Pops wasn´t there to glue the pieces back together.
I know you´ll take care of the boys.
His words echoed in your head.
You watched the hundreds of men injured, bleeding through their wounds and passing out unattended. Where was the man in charge?
A sudden anger consumed you, and you rushed to his room, kicking the door open.
¨What the fuck do you think you´re doing?!¨ he didn´t answer, nor did he move.
Marco looked miserable, sitting on the mattress, leaning forward with both hands on his head.
You had a lot of emotions going on in your head.
You were happy because you got to hear Whitebeard call you daughter one last time, but you didn´t know how to live in a world where he didn´t.
You were happy to be with your family again, but it killed you to see them crumbled like that.
¨Not now.¨ he spoke when you approached with calmer steps. His voice was hushed and broken.
¨Marco, you have to-¨
¨Get out, yoi.¨
¨No. You are the one getting out and help-¨
¨GET THE HELL OUT, Y/N!¨ he roared.
¨NO!¨ you roared back and pulled him by his collar, facing his teary and red eyes. ¨YOU TURNED YOUR BACK TO ME ONCE, BUT I WON´T LET YOU DO THE SAME TO THEM!¨
You let go of him and shed heavy tears.
¨You have thirteen Commanders and hundreds of men out there who need you. So suck it and step in.¨ you said with gritted teeth.
¨They can handle themselves, yoi.¨ he grumbled.
You scowled
¨Is this how far your loyalty goes?¨ he clenched his fists ¨Pops offered you a seat on his side, and you took it! NOW USE IT!¨
¨SHUT UP! YOU DON´T KNOW THE THINGS WE´VE BEEN THROUGH, Y/N!¨ he marched towards you, stopping a few inches from you and yelling in your face ¨You have no idea the things we´ve lost, the things I have lost!¨
¨I do know!¨ you pushed his chest ¨I have always known, but you didn´t! You didn´t because you´re Marco, the Phoenix! And you´re great! Great rare, mythical Devil Fruit. Great First Division Commander. YOU. ARE. GREAT.¨ you sobbed, helpless ¨But being great didn´t make you confident, it made you spoiled. It made you forget what loss feels like. And now you lost. We lost.¨
He let himself fall on the mattress again, head down, tears dropping on his ragged pants.
¨So you don´t get to drown yourself in commiseration, Marco. You don´t get to sit here, feeling sorry for yourself.¨ your voice came out weak ¨They need you. I... need you.¨
You watched him for a couple of minutes but seeing that he wouldn´t move, you sighed, ready to leave the room and do his job.
¨I hated you, yoi.¨ Marco said before you could leave..
¨I know.¨ you whispered and leaned against the door.
More tears fell.
Two years in Impel Down were not enough to break you, but that... that was a difficult hit to take.
¨All these years, I hated you every single day.¨
¨I know.¨
¨Even when I thought you were dead, I hated you.¨
¨I know.¨
¨And when Pops told me what you did for him... I hated myself.¨
The both of you broke down.
¨I know, Marco.¨
You turned slowly and walked to him, sitting by his side, laying your head on his shoulder.
His shaky hands held yours, and you weakened, feeling the touch you missed so much.
¨I can´t do this, Y/N.¨
¨Yes, you can.¨ you touched his face gently, so he would look at you ¨We can.¨
You slipped to the floor, holding each other in your arms, hoping that the tears would wash away the pain, the guilt, and regret.

Marco’s Bauble Part 6 - a One Piece Mermaid AU Text Story
Next update for Marco’s Bauble!
Sorry for not posting much this past week, it was...eventful, and exhausting, and didn’t leave me much sanity for doing much other than just Living ^ ^;
In which Marco makes an appearance, and is Tired. He’s too old for this shit.
Continues off of, and should be read after:

~~
Marco has an awful headache, and it's been getting worse all day.
It's now night, but he wants to finish reviewing the last of the surveys he's collected from the 2nd Division before he can grant himself rest.
Even though Ace is officially no longer in the running for the position of 2nd Division Commander, his presence and Pops planning for him to be appointed had led to the decision that it's time to find a replacement for Oden's old seat anyway. And so they'd taken surveys from the current members, to see if anyone's interested, or would like to nominate one of their peers.
While many in the 2nd Division had been excited at the prospect of being under Ace's command (no doubt influenced in part by the former Spade pirates among them), they're also a unique division, used to being without the direct guidance of a Commander after so many decades without one. They report to Pops, and to Marco, but other than that have a culture of flexibility that few want to go out of their way to change. There were very few nominations from among them, most opting to voice hesitant hope in Ace returning, or suggesting they don't need a Commander after all.
The lone candidate that stands out is Marshall D. Teach. The man's been on the crew for around as long as most of the other Commanders, so age and experience-wise, he fits. He doesn't stand out, but Marco knows he's strong in combat, and efficient at completing missions, if with a slightly worrying tendency towards unnecessary brutality. Only a couple of 2nd Division members mention him in their surveys, and it's mostly in reference to his seniority, not necessarily character.
Marco frowns. He doesn't strongly dislike Teach per se, but he doesn't quite like him either. The man's always struck Marco as a little off, certainly not enough to chase him off the crew, but enough to leave Marco with an uneasy aftertaste after their interactions. Marco honestly doesn't know how he'd feel about him as a fellow Commander, sitting in at all of their meetings with access to confidential information about the entire crew.
Marco needs to gather his findings to report to Pops. But without a clear answer from the 2nd Division, he supposes this is a good time to consult in his fellow Commanders.
Which is terribly convenient, because a large number of them are gathered just a mere two doors down from Marco's room.
Marco wonders if they're trying to be subtle, because they're not. They always seem to hold secret meetings in Jozu's room. Jozu, who as the 3rd Division Commander, has his room located only two rooms away from Marco, the 1st Division Commander, with the 2nd Division Commander room between them lying empty. Most things that go on in Jozu's room can be heard in Marco's, and vice versa, but the other Commanders always seem to forget.
In this case, Marco doesn't quite make out exact words, but it's more because he doesn't care to try, because he knows from experience that he could if he wanted to. In fact, Marco's been doing his best to shut them out this entire night, but they're being so obnoxiously loud, and he can hear Izo's piercing laughter and the unmistakable THUNKS of Jozu cracking his shoulder against the walls. Marco also thinks he hears his name a few times, which means they're probably gossiping about him. Which, of course, is all the more reason for him to not want to know, because goddamnit he's tired.
But unfortunately, even if he were to wear earplugs, Marco can't shut out his brothers entirely, because none of them are bothering to conceal their blazing Haki signatures. And why would they, while they’re at home on the Moby? But with all of the strongest members of the Whitebeard Pirates gathered in one condensed spot, and it's like this bright light in the corner of Marco's mind that won't go away. Damn his sensitive Observation Haki. Marco hopes they're not keeping Pops up, because they're certainly not helping with his headache.
He honestly finds it a little unfair that his brothers are socializing while Marco's still working, but that's how it usually is, and Marco's used to being mature about it. He just hopes that whatever they're planning, it doesn't lead to a mess afterwards, or at least leads to one they can clean up by themselves.
The last time there was a "secret meeting," they managed to get a handful of Commanders in on a prank to shave hearts into Vista's chest hair while he was drunk. Marco had unfortunately been informed of the operation, which Thatch had started. It lead to a pretty awful hangover squabble in the morning, which resulted in Izo losing a slice of hair to Vista's blades, flipping his shit as a result, and Namur having to fetch a handful of devil fruit users from the sea.
On the topic of Thatch, Marco wonders how he's doing, and whether the letter he sent his brother has safely reached its destination. Probably not yet, but in a few days; the blue gulls can be surprisingly fast, but they still need to cross the Calm Belt and then some. Marco hopes that Thatch's enjoying his time away, and almost feels bad for not actually sending him his hair wax as requested, but Marco thinks that perhaps a little makeover will do his friend some good. He's traveling with young people, might as well dress like one.
And that, Marco thinks regretfully, is something that only an old person would think, and old people need sleep. He slowly stands up, and grunts when his back pops. He really is getting old, he feels like he's getting closer to Pops every day, and isn't that a frightening thought.
Luckily for Marco though, he has a little cheat, and Marco activates it by turning on his flames. The soft blue fire momentarily consumes his body, bringing not burning heat, but a pleasant tingle. When it fades, Marco's joints are no longer popping, and he feels marginally better, if not necessarily younger.
It'll do for now, to get him through this task, and then he can sleep for a few hours before making his morning rounds scouting around the ship.
And so he stands up, brings a notepad and writing utensil just in case the idiots two doors down actually have anything helpful to say, and leaves his room.
~~
"THE DRESS CAN'T BE PURE WHITE, YOU'RE BASIC," Izo's shrieking, when Marco opens the door.
Marco stares down, because Haruta's ass is blocking his feet.
There's an awkward silence.
"Haruta," Izo breathes. "You're shit at keeping watch."
"You're shit at keeping watch," Vista agrees.
"You're shit at keeping watch," Rakuyo nods.
"You're shit at keeping watch," Jozu sighs.
"You...could improve on keeping watch, a little," Namur concedes.
The last brother to speak is wearing dark eyeliner that Marco's never seen on him before. It's clearly Izo's work.
"It looks nice," Marco tells him, and Namur's blue skin flushes purple at the compliment.
"Of course it does," Izo snaps. "Marco, we're having a Secret Meeting that doesn't involve you. If you don't terribly mind..." He gestures with manicured nails back the way Marco'd come.
Marco sighs. "I don't care what you're talking about, and I'll leave in a second if you can keep it down, I can hear you from my room, yoi."
His statement's followed by curses all around and wide-eyed looks of horror. Marco shifts his glasses to pinch the bridge of his nose as he sighs again.
So they really were talking about him, and by their reactions, were planning on playing a prank on him. Subtle.
(He wonders if they'll attempt to dye his hair green again (Just like a real pineapple! Thatch always insists with his trademark grin). It's almost a tradition at this point, attempted once every five years or so, and Marco tiredly notes that he's probably due another attempt. His brothers have yet to actually succeed, and Marco may be getting older but isn't about to let them get the best of him now. He'll need to be careful with what he washes himself with in the near future.)
Marco appreciates his brothers' playfulness at times, but also wishes they could sometimes act like the forty year-old men they are, and not gleeful pre-teens.
"I just have a question, and then I'll leave," Marco says, deciding to ignore his brothers whispering frantically at each other because it's late and he doesn't want to waste energy scolding them. He just wants to get this business over with, his bed is calling. "Regarding the appointment of the 2nd Division Commander, the members of the division are undecided, and Teach is the only candidate who stands out. Before I mention him to Pops, if anyone wants to give their input--"
Marco's wholly unprepared for the shocked gasps of horror.
"What, no!"
"Why would you do that?"
"You can't!"
"That seat's reserved for A--"
Vista steps on Rakuyo's foot, like he does under the table sometimes when the Commander gets a bit too chatty. Except there's no table in front of Jozu's bed to conceal the movement, and Marco's eyebrows rise ever higher.
Marco didn't think the other Commanders would have such strong opinions regarding a division other than their own, especially now that Ace's out of the running. They certainly hadn’t cared before, when the topic had been brought up at a Commanders meeting. Their reactions mystify him, but no one bothers giving further elaboration and they all avoid Marco's questioning gaze.
"...Alright then, I won't mention Teach to Pops, and will inform him that the majority of 2nd Division prefers the Commander seat remain empty for now."
There's a collective sigh of relief, which is also mystifying, but a mystery for the next day, Marco decides.
"A question for you, Marco," Izo says as Marco's turning to leave. "You're not...planning on leaving the crew any time soon, are you?"
Marco blinks. "Why would I do that?"
"Oh, oh good, just making sure," Izo nods, and everyone else looks like bobble head dolls, and Marco can’t find a single sliver of himself curious enough to care.
"You should feel more confident, they'll all be here with us soon," Namur says shyly, and kindly, and Marco feels like he ought to feel comforted if only he knew what for.
"Thanks, yoi? And good night. Try to keep it down," Marco says, before leaving the cramped room.
"We will!" his brothers chorus like school children.

Hello! Welcome to tumblr. I'm the admin of skys-op-imagines! Can I request shanks, Marco and ace jealousy headcanons? (I.e. if someone is flirting with their s/o and they don't outright stop the person but just continue a normal convo)
Well hello, admin of skys-op-imagines!~ Thank you so much for the welcome! I had fun with this request, but I feel like I ended up turning it into more of a scenario type of thing, rather than headcanons. Sorry about that. If this isn’t what you were hoping for, please let me know so that I can give you some proper headcanons.~ =)
Shanks
It’s been some time since the Red Hair Pirates and his S/O have been on land, so Shanks decides it’s time to take a break from the sea and enjoy life out on the town of a nearby island. As a group, they collectively decide to go to a pub to grab some food and enjoy some drinks.
Shanks is such a fun-loving guy, he has the entire pub laughing and partying alongside his crew as if he and his crew weren’t pirates but regulars in this small town pub.
He leaves the party to take a quick restroom break, stealing a quick kiss from his S/O before he leaves. When he returns emptied and ready for more booze, he’s a little surprised at the group of people congregating around his S/O.
Nevertheless, he approaches the group and reclaims his seat next to his S/O and simply listens. What else can he say? He loves people almost as much as he loves parties and booze.
As he’s listening, he can’t help but notice how much praise is being directed toward his S/O, and he feels a sense of pride wash over him. He knows he’s got the perfect partner, and it makes him proud that everyone else sees it, too.
However, that sense of security slowly begins to dissipate as the patrons surrounding his S/O begin to make some rather strong advances toward his partner. At first, Shanks thinks they’re being overly-kind and hospitable to his S/O, but some of the comments are far too out-of-place to not be overt flirtations.
“Your lips look so soft, I just wanna kiss them!” “You’re so good-looking! What are you doing with a bunch of pirates?” “Forget about going back to sea! Stay here with me!”
All the while, Shanks couldn’t help but notice how nonchalant his S/O responded to their flirting, almost as if they were oblivious to it or as if they were simply ignoring the patrons. They either downplayed their advances by denying the patrons’ claims or by continuing on with their story as if nothing happened. It had Shanks feeling a little confused as he didn’t expect his S/O to be so unbothered by it.
Now, Shanks is not someone who gets jealous as he’s usually such a carefree guy, but he was stunned by the amount of attention his S/O was getting, especially since Shanks has been holding and kissing his S/O several times since they’ve been at the pub. How could the patrons not have noticed that his S/O is already taken?
Shanks isn’t upset, though. Maybe a little irked, but not upset. As long as they weren’t aggressive with his S/O, he didn’t feel the need to worry. But despite his head telling him that he wasn’t jealous in the slightest, his body language told a different story.
As his arm snakes around his S/O’s waist, he lets out a boisterous laugh and pulls his S/O closer, making them smile. He gives the patrons a knowing look, and it seems that they’ve all had a change of heart.
“Wow, (Name), just look at how popular you are! It almost makes me jealous.~”
Marco
Marco can be rather busy at times since he’s a doctor and doctors tend to always be on the job, but he doesn’t want his S/O to ever feel like they’re second-best to his occupation. So, he decides to take them out to lunch at a nice café.
On their way to the café, Marco takes his S/O’s hand into his, and the two have a pleasant chat along the way.
Once they’re at the café, they place their order and take a seat at a table near the window and Marco couldn’t be any happier to spend time with his S/O.
It’s not long before the waitress brings out their order, and the two start on their plates. Everything in this moment is peaceful, and Marco makes a note that he should take his S/O out for lunch more often.
They’re not even halfway through their meal when the waitress swings by to drop off a rather fancy-looking dessert, insisting that it was for Marco’s S/O and saying that it was from the person sitting on the other side of the room. The stranger waved at Marco’s S/O, who politely waved back, and the whole interaction seemed very odd to Marco.
Nevertheless, Marco brushes off this peculiar feeling believing that it was just a random act of kindness, and he shares a laugh with his S/O about the awkward situation before resuming their conversation and carrying on with their lunch.
Not long after the incident, another interruption comes along that involves the stranger strutting up to their table and boldly asking to join them. Marco and his S/O look at each other first, unsure of what to say until Marco reluctantly agrees to let him join. Perhaps, they were lonely?
Delighted, the stranger pulls up a chair, and they all share introductions before getting into some casual small talk. Nothing seems to be out of the ordinary until the stranger begins slipping in compliments here and there and asking some rather flirty questions.
Marco isn’t one to jump to conclusions right away, but if his intuition was correct, he has strong reasons to believe that this stranger might be flirting with his precious S/O. But he’d wait it out first and let the stranger test the waters first.
Sure enough, the stranger’s advances soon become more aggressive and anyone could tell that this person was shamelessly flirting with his S/O. Calling them gorgeous, making empty promises, and even making lewd comments about his S/O in hopes of winning their heart.
Marco’s not exactly surprised as he assumed that this was the stranger’s objective from the start. But what he is surprised about is the lack of a response from his S/O who continues to dodge questions and picks up the conversation as if this stranger wasn’t trying to woo them.
He knows his S/O is too loyal to fall for this person, and he knows that they’re too kind to tell the stranger to go away. But that doesn’t stop the sinking feeling he gets in his stomach.
At this point, Marco is no longer smiling like he once was. First, this weirdo interrupts their lunch, and then, they think they can make passes at his S/O and not face any consequences. His S/O obviously wasn’t interested.
But Marco doesn’t want to make a scene or ruin his time with his S/O, so he asks them if they’re ready to head out. When they say “yes,” he asks if they could wait outside real quick while he pays the check. He waits until his S/O is out of earshot before pulling his glasses off and staring coldly at the stranger as blue flames flickered around his hands.
“I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but we’re together-yoi… And I better never catch you with (Name) again-yoi…”
Ace
Being the second division commander of the Whitebeard Pirates, Ace technically has permission to go on little voyages of his own from time to time as long as he lets Whitebeard know ahead time, and he does just that. His plan is to treat his S/O to a picnic lunch, followed by a day at the beach.
Once they arrive at the island, Ace helps his S/O off the boat and leads them to the shore where they would be spending some quality time alone.
The sensation of the soft sand between their toes is delightful as Ace and his S/O walk barefoot along the shore, holding hands and keeping a leisurely pace as they enjoyed each other’s company.
When they finally pick a place to rest for a while, Ace begins to lay out the picnic blanket and set out the little sandwiches and side dishes that Thatch had packaged for them. Ace couldn’t believe how perfect the day was turning out to be, and he was truly excited.
Over lunch, Ace and his S/O bask in each other’s company, telling stories, making jokes, and even playfully flirting with each other.
As soon as they’re finished, they decide to play a bit of catch with a frisbee, but before they can get started, another beachgoer comes along. They seem like a regular and they greet Ace and his S/O warmly, so the couple decide it wouldn’t hurt to let them join their game of catch.
All three are having a good time tossing the frisbee back and forth, talking about anything and failing at doing trick tosses. It’s still a good day, Ace thinks.
His mood suddenly changes when the beachgoer offers to take Ace’s S/O to enjoy the water, saying that they couldn’t go to the beach and not enjoy the water.
Ace explains that he can’t go into the water, but the beachgoer insists that his S/O be allowed to enjoy the full extent of the beach, anyways. Feeling bad, Ace agrees, yet he can’t help but feel left out. So, he takes a seat in the sand, pouting his lip.
As his S/O and the beachgoer stand in the ankle-deep seawater, Ace feels his body grow warmer and it’s not because of the sun beating down on him. He regrets letting some stranger join them since he now feels that the day is ruined and so is his mood.
That should’ve been him making his S/O smile. That should’ve been him giving his S/O beautiful seashells. That should’ve been him playfully splashing his S/O. That should’ve been him standing in the water with his S/O if it wasn’t for his Devil Fruit’s side effect. It only it wasn’t for that stupid beachgoer.
But his S/O’s having fun. He’ll be the bigger person and he’ll be selfless for his other half.
This thought is short-lived as Ace picks up on the beachgoer saying his S/O had the most beautiful smile, and a gorgeous laugh, and that they were the most attractive person they’ve ever met. His S/O would shake their head and continue to talk casually as if they weren’t burdened by this stranger’s attempts at flirting.
Yeah, Ace admits he’s jealous. There was no way in hell that that jerk was going to say those things to his S/O, so he stomps his way over to them, feeling his body grow weak as he stepped into the water. He wasn’t that weak, though, as he was still able to shove the beachgoer into the water and bring his S/O closer.
It didn’t matter who it was, if you were bold enough to flirt with his S/O, Ace would straighten you up.
“You’ve got a lot of nerve! (Name)’s taken, and I’m not going to stand by and let you get in our way.”

Ali you have one1 oc, answer all those you want to answer
LOL free pass because i only have taiga im DYING leena. thank you!! i might answer some that you already know the answer to just so its in writing on here! im so sorry i wrote so much omfg
🍄 How would your OC react to the death of a friend/family member/loved one? Is there anyone they can confide in?
Im sure this happened during her time on the Moby Dick, a crewmate/ brother dying during some sort of fight. Luckily it was never anyone she was TOO familiar with, as she was closest to the division commanders. When she was little and crewmates died she probably cried about it. Marco was probably her listening ear for the majority of her life.
While on the Polar tang she hasn’t experienced anyone dying, but learned years after the fact about the destruction of the Whitebeard Pirates, the the deaths of her Father, an older brother she was close to, her lover, and hundreds of men she considered family. She was completely devastated and went on a rampage. Her only reason to live now is to protect her new family and loved ones with everything shes got, as well as kill Blackbeard for his betrayal that lead to the aforementioned tragedy. If someone on the Polar Tang died she would react similarly, by being completely distraught and go on a rampage. When she learned about her Whitebeard Pirate family’s demise, Marco and later Law were her confidants. If a member of the Heart Pirates died, She would probably not confide in anyone. Everyone would be feeling the same as her. She would probably try putting on a fake smile to try and lift spirits, and she would try and be the listening ear everyone needs. She would put aside her feelings to be the comforting shoulder to cry on for everyone else. She wouldnt confide in Law either because he probably feels worse than she does, she knows him too well. He would feel completely responsible. In her eyes it would be selfish of her to talk to Law about her feelings.
If Law were to die, she would definitely go berserk. I think Law is a big part of her being able to hold herself together after immense tragedies. If she lost him, she would also be lost. She would have no idea how to move forward for awhile. She definitely would bottle her feelings and not confide in anyone.
🌷 What does your OC hate about themself? What lies about themself do they believe? On the flip side, What does your OC love about themself?
On the Moby Dick, pre devil fruit, she hated how weak she was. The lie she couldnt help but think was that she was just in the way. She didnt think it often, her time on the Moby Dick was overwhelmingly happy but at some points she would think she is just a burden. Whenever she felt like this, her close brothers and Whitebeard would catch on pretty quickly. She was pretty happy usually so it was obvious whenever she was down. She probably confided her actual thoughts to Marco. He would reassure her she wasnt a burden. He would probably encourage her to talk to pops. Whitebeard would tell her she was a stupid kid for thinking she was nothing more than a burden. That he knew nobody better at tactics than her, that she helped him work through tactical challenges even when she was so young! Hearing him say those things lead to her genius for tactics being her most prized trait.
On the Polar Tang, pre regaining memories, she would hate her lack of control over her devil fruit, she would hate how everyone else had things that made them “them” and that she remembered nothing that made her “her”. She would believe the same lie that she did when she was younger, she was just a burden and in the way. Except it was mostly true. She was kept aboard because 1) when she learned to control her devil fruit again, she would probably be a strong addition to the crew, the only other member with a devil fruit is Law. 2) the crew insisted Law save her and afterwards got close with her, they begged Law to let her stay on. If Law hadnt been so weak for his crew, if Bepo hadnt been so cute when begging, if she hadnt had a devil fruit, she would have been left to die on the shore they found her on. 2) in the meantime she was incredibly useful for chores. It wasnt until her tactical genius started to rear its head (through board and card games at first) that Law started to really see any use to her. When he realized she was better than even him at tactics, he was floored. His respect for her as a person and as a crewmate worthy of being on his crew grew immensely. When she confides in him about feeling useless, he reacts similarly to Whitebeard and very bluntly tells her shes stupider than he thought if she thinks shes useless. It once again becomes her prized trait.
🌹 Does your OC have any scars? How and when did they get them?
She has her scar on her forehead above her right eyebrow, extending from just below her eyebrow to her hairline. She got it when she fell overboard from the Moby Dick during a rough storm. Normally she would have just sunk to the bottom, being a devil fruit user, but the rough waves tossed her around. she hit her head on a large rock under the surface of the water, causing the scar. It was near a winter island so the water was exceptionally freezing. The cold water is the reason she didn’t die before she got pushed to shore!
🥀 What is something your OC blames themself for and is it really their fault? Does it keep them up at night and is there any lingering trauma?
She blames herself for Marineford. She blames herself for every bit of it. If she hadnt fallen overboard she would have been there when Blackbeard killed thatch. Maybe she could have stopped him. Maybe she could have stopped ace from pursing him. If none of that had worked, maybe she could have gone with ace. Maybe they could have defeated Blackbeard together. If he didnt let her go with him, maybe she could have fought along side everyone at Marineford. Maybe just her being there, fighting along side them could have saved ace. Could have saved Whitebeard. If not she thinks she should have died there with them. Almost daily for awhile she blames herself. she was THERE. she SAW her family dying. She just didnt remember them. She was there on the sub and she didnt do anything to help them. Of course none of this is her fault and most likely her being there wouldnt have changed anything. She probably would have died aswell. It keeps her up at night consistently and there is lingering trauma. how could there not be?
🌺 In what situation would your OC be pushed to commit an act of violence? Would they go as far to kill someone if they had to? How would this affect them and their relationships with others?
Taiga is not for killing but she is also not against it. She is definitely not a pacifist. A part of it is her more intense nature due to her zoan type devil fruit and the other part of it is that she would kill at the drop of a hat if it meant protecting her way of life and loved ones. She would kill if Law told her to aswell, no questions asked and no regret. Once she regains her memories on how to control her devil fruit, she works tirelessly to get stronger. What are her sharp teeth, and claws for if not ripping peoples throats open for the sake of her captains goals or to protect her friends. She can be quite fierce, especially for any normal marine grunt that encounters her.
🌼 Describe one of your OC’s worst nightmares.
Before regaining her memories her worst nightmare is of drowning. She doesn’t remembering falling from the Moby Dick so the latent memories often manifest in her dreams. She finds comfort with her insomniac captain on the nights the waves wont let her sleep.
After regaining her memories, she definitely has nightmares about Marineford. She has nightmares about Thatch and Ace and Whitebeard... She has nightmares about Law dying, nightmares of being unable to save anyone she loves, which is her deepest fear.

Won’t admit it, but he was pretty cheeky as a teen
Jozu
He was still frozen by Aokiji when Whitebeard and Ace were killed, it took a long time for him to thaw out and when he did, he was very shocked It took him a long time to recover from everything.
As a young boy, he was shy and reserved, but that changed when he got older
As a child, he didn’t have a lot to eat which lead him to become a bit obsessed with food and steal from others. He still loves food and enjoys small snacks from time to time
Thatch
He takes great pride in preparing the food for his family everyday
Will make you your comfort food when you feel down

Senpai~ i'm so happy that your feeling better *\(>w<)/ so if it's not too much might i request an angsty scenario for my ASL baes (if it's too much then just Sabo is fine) where their fem S/O gets kidnapped and tortured leading to an epic save and bad guy beat-down via a very pissed off boyfriend?
A/N: I hope this is alright, I struggled with the one for Sabo and feel like the angst is barely there in any of those, but nevertheless hope you like it! Thank you for requesting. :)
ASL saving their S/O after they get kidnapped
Ace
Ace hadn’t felt this way before. Sure, he did get angry from time to time, but the sheer amount of fire that was burning him up from the inside was different- unfamiliar and, he had to admit, even a bit scaring.
He stands in front of the tall, dirty building and takes a deep breath, trying to control the flames that were tingling in his fingertips; the need to burst everything he sees into plain ashes.
You were stubborn. You always had been and Ace liked that about you- he thought it was charming in some ways, even though it could also be frustrating on some parts. When you shook your head heavily on this evening, he couldn’t help but frown though– the frustration towards you slowly raising.
“Why can’t you just let me come along, Y/N?” He had said, hand ruffling through his dark hair. “There is no reason for you to go alone.”
“Yes, there is.” You had mumbled back, tying your shoelaces tighter. The bag on your shoulder was heavy, but you were already used to that. “I can take care of myself.”
Ace sighed, feeling a bit hurt about you not wanting him to tag along on the giant island. “I just don’t get why.” Your body turns away, slowly making your way to the end of the Moby Dick. Your boyfriend is walking behind you.
“Because,” you snap. “Everyone in the crew thinks I can’t do anything without my boyfriend helping me!” You turn around, glaring. “Wherever I go, you’re always with me. And I don’t mind it personally, don’t think that– It’s just that I would like to do something on my own for once too. I know I’m able to anyways. I would like to be appreciated for what I do myself. And not always being the ‘partner of Ace.’”
Ace takes a step back, arms crossing in front of his chest, the muscles on his arms flexing slightly. “I didn’t know you cared so much about what others think about our relationship.” He was confused and you saw in his eyes how there was a tint of hurt swimming in the brown orbs.
“Ace, wait-” You say, holding your head at the sudden headache that was slowly starting to grow. “I didn’t mean it that way.”
“No, it’s fine.” He says, turning his back towards you and raising his hand. “ I hope you have fun, since being with me is such a burden.”
If Ace could go back, he certainly would and stop you from jumping on land. He would run towards you, grab you, and throw you over his shoulder in a second, but, of course, it was already too late for that.
The seconds of you being gone turned into minutes and soon enough, it was hours and no one heard something about you. Ace got worried, but this is what you had wanted, to be alone and on your own– right?
He had sat in the dining hall with a few of his crew members, when the rumble of Whitebeard echoed through the ship. In an instant, there was silence all over, the silence almost deafening. When Ace got back on Deck, he was not prepared for what was about to be said.
Marco stood in the middle, expression neutral, if it wasn’t for the slight hint of frown that showed his distress for the current situation. “Ace. Come here, yoi.”
When the second division commander arrived and was handed a paper, he had to read twice to understand what was written there. Next to the sloppily written words was a single drop of red blood– Ace knew it was yours.
“I will take care of it, Oyaji.”
The ashes of the paper was the only explanation for his family.
--- --- --- --- ---
You didn’t know how many hours had passed, it could have been days that were slowly drifting away from you and yet, you would be none the wiser.
Your hands were uncomfortably tied behind you back while your mouth was covered by a cloth, making the option for you to make any sound impossible. The only thing you could hear was the drop of water in the dark, wet room you were currently sitting in. Every piece of your body was aching, a violent shiver going through every other second- it was pathetic and you thought, maybe youwere pathetic.
Your mind wanders to your crew, to Oyaji, to Izo, to the food Thatch made and especially, with a deep peng in your heart, to your boyfriend Ace. Only the thought of him being with you, holding you close to his warm chest was enough to make a silent sob run through your body once again.
If you only had let him come along, maybe then he would have noticed the smell of the drink being slightly different, he would have noticed the pair of eyes being glued to your back– he would have taken care of you when you felt your eyes black out and your knees give in.
“Oh, my little sheep..” You hear the familiar voice of the pirate entering the now dimly lit room, making you curl deeper into the corner of the room. “No need to be shy, sweetheart.”
He enters the cell you were in and slowly walks towards your figure in the far corner, the heart in your chest beating rapidly by the sheer disgust you felt in your veins. With everything you had left in your body, you tried to glare at him, but from the way he was smiling so wickedly at you– he did not care whatsoever.
“Why does it take so long for your rats to bring the money?” He asks, slowly stroking your hair. You could feel the foul breath of him touching the side of your face. “Maybe they don’t care about you anymore? I would understand, Y/N.”
You try to kick him and with a small percentage of luck, you meet his ankle, which makes his crouching figure lose his balance, but before he can fall, he grabs a handful of your hair, making you wince.
“You little-”
The door of the room flings open and there stands one of the Pirates crew mates. “Captain, you need to come instantly!”
“Not now.” The man in front of you grumbles back, holding tighter on your hair. “I’m busy with my sheep.”
“But it’s–”
And then the sound is cut off by a something that sounds like a big pile of meat hitting the stoney floor.
Before either you or the Captain can react, the room engulfs in flames that could put any forest fire to shame. The flames burn with anger, passion and the sheer need for blood.
You gasp behind the fabric covering your mouth, the slight burn on your legs from the heat like welcoming kiss from your freedom.
Ace!
And soon enough, your boyfriend appears at the end of the room, eyes full of hatred and for a second, you feel bad for the man in front of you- the fight was already finished and it didn’t even start yet.
“I wonder what must have gone through your head,” Ace says, voice rumbling like thunder. “Did you really think you could take my girl and get away with it?” Humourlessly, he laughs. “My girl?”
The man in front of you stands up, clearly intimidated. “Listen man, just take her and there will be no consequences, we’re happy with whatever you give us…”
“We?” Ace repeats, taking long strides towards you two. “I’m afraid there is no one left in this shithole of place.” His eyes burn, a smirk growing on his lips. “Could have been my fault.”
And then, the flames erupt yet again, covering the whole room but the little corner you were still seated in. Blinded by the brightness, you turn your head towards the wall and when you turn back, all fire is gone- only ashes dancing in the wind and the look of affection, concern and regret shining in Ace’s brown eyes as he swiftly rips all cuffs away from your body. Without any second wasted, you fling yourself into his arms, sobbing shamelessly into his shoulder, the weight of being separated finally being lift.
“I’m sorry,” You choke out, inhaling his scent, as if it was everything you always needed to survive. “I’m so stupid, I’m so sorry Ace.”
“Shh, it’s okay.” He whispers back, hands stroking your hair, back and arms– needing to touch every piece of your skin to make sure you were fine. “You’re not stupid, baby, it’s fine.”
The words get stuck in your throat, another sob rocking through your body. Ace lifts you up, still holding you close to his chest and walks you two out of the building that is slowly starting to fall apart- no soul left inside.
Outside, you take another deep breath and cling more towards your boyfriend.
“Scary,” you hear Marco mumble from a meter away and then you feel a blanket being wrapped around you- still in Ace’s arms. “But impressive, yoi.”
You hear your boyfriend answer, but the words get lost in the clouds that start to engulf you in a well deserved sleep.
Sabo
“Don’t let anyone steal my seat,” you had mumbled, a soft smile playing around your lips. Sabo mimicked your smile, shaking his own head slightly.
“I would never.”
Sabo watched your figure disappear through the numerous bodys of people in the restaurant, his heart jumping at the thought of you coming back to him– your boyfriend.
He could hear Koala’s voice in his head, saying how he was whipped for you and with a shy smile towards his drink sitting in front of him, the blonde man accepted his truth; Koala was right.
Ever since you had joined the Revolutionary Army, his eyes longed for your figure more often than he noticed himself. All of the newbies were starstruck at the sight of the Chief Of Staff, the number two of the Revolutionary Army coming to their training hall every few days but he didn’t care at all: all he wanted was a glimpse of your body, one word towards him or, he would sell his soul, one smile from you. Once you had noticed his interest for you, it was only a matter of time before you and Sabo fell for each other. Sooner than later, the blonde man asked you out and there you were now, at a date on an island in the middle of the night.
Sabo sighs quietly and takes a glance towards the door where you had disappeared too long ago. You just wanted to take a call and be back, but as the minutes started to double, he couldn’t stop himself and got out of his chair, a frown now on his pale features.
One part of him told him he doesn’t have to worry and shouldn’t go out, but the other part, the one that made him so trustworthy to Dragon was pushing him out and when he stood there, all alone in the darkness outside of the still loud restaurant, he felt his body shivering.
All he saw was a ripped piece of your summer dress, which you had previously worn and some rough patches of dirt on the ground– freshly made.
--- --- --- --- ---
“Are you sure it’s Y/N?” You heard a voice on your right, your vision too blurred to make out where you were.
“Yes! I saw the Sabo guy in the window too. Maybe if we tell Boss quick enough, we can get him as well. Just imagine all the berry we could have…” The man on your left said, his grip on your arm surely leaving a bruise.
You could feel a strong ache at the back of your head, but you couldn’t remember how the ache had appeared, you couldn’t even remember how you landed in this situation. One minute you were with Sabo and in the next… you were seated on the ground in the middle of something that smelled like a forest.
You bite your lip at the thought of your boyfriend waiting for you, a shiver running through your body visibly.
“Hey, hey,” The first man spoke up, his voice now directed to you. “I think she woke up. Oh god, she really did!”
Before you could do something, two pair of hands were grabbing your face roughly, making you wince. “Hello there, Y/N!”
You open your eyes and look into the face of a man whom you haven’t seen before, his lips stretched into a wicked smile. “Aren’t you just pretty?”
You hear the other guy coming closer as well. “Do you think…” He says to the one holding tightly to your skin.
He shakes his head, a dangerous glint dancing in his orbs. “I don’t think Boss would mind if we played a bit with her.”
Your stomach started to turn at the words you were hearing. Acting on instinct, you pushed your head to the side, your feet pushing out to push the man away from you– with success. The man stumbled back and fell, a confused expression on his features at your strength.
“What– fuck, grab her!”
You were rising to your feet and tried to run away, but the other guy was hot on your heels and if it weren’t for the ache in your head, you would have gotten away. Quicker than you expected, a hand was grabbing your hair and pushed you back, your figure now hitting the ground forcefully. A second later, you felt the weight of the man on your arm.
“Don’t you try this again.” He grumbled through his teeth, his grip on your hair tightening. “You will be our little girl now, understand? Whatever we say, you will do.” He leans his head closer to you. “Understand?”
You stay silent, the glare on your eyes reaching its peak.
“No.”
You gasp as the familiar voice touches your ears, your heart going crazy in your chest. You close your eyes and push your head back to the ground, knowing that whatever happened next- you were safe.
Sabo stood merely a meter away from you, next to him the guy you had previously pushed away, now full of blood. Your blonde boyfriend looked calm, like a calm sea, but you knew it was only for the moment. His blue eyes were glowing, all of his emotions radiating from him in waves of pure heat that had another shiver running through you.
You could hear the man next to you gulp. You took the chance and pushed him off you, quickly getting back up and as fast as you allowed yourself, you ran towards Sabo who had his arms open for you.
Before you reached him, a hand closed around your ankle, making you almost trip. You cursed and tried to push your feet out of the grip, but Sabo was already next to you, grabbing the wrist of the man with force.
“You will be sorry to have touched her like this.”
And then you hear bones cracking and a loud shriek coming from the male on the ground– the ground that now started to burn in red, angry flames.
“Y/N,” you hear Sabo say once there is no piece of life left on the ground besides you two. “Are you okay? Did they hurt you?” His hand grabs your face softly, his thumb stroking your cheek. His eyes were full of worry and a deep drop of affection towards you.
“I’m fine,” you mumble and throw yourself against him, your arms engulfing his body with force. “I’m so glad you’re here.”
“I’m sorry I’m so late.” He says, voice filled with regret. “I should have come with you, I–”
Your lips press against his for the first time of knowing each other, stopping the words falling from his lips. His own lips start to move instantly, the kiss speaking louder than any of your words could ever.
Luffy
“I want to see the number five.” You heard a gruff voice say and not helping yourself, you clenched your eyes together, recognizing the number as your own tag that was put in front of your cell.
“Number five was brought to us yesterday, she has a temper, but nothing that a few hits and punches can’t get fixed.” A woman says as she looks at you with a strong gaze.
You gulp, but nevertheless hold her gaze. When she notices you challenging her, she puts on a fake smile.
“We don’t really know much about where she is from, but as she is very pretty, she would make a perfect object to make other jealous of.” She continues, clearly satisfied by the way the man next to her nods. “We know you have a preference of being rough, so she is perfectly fit for your hands.”
You push at your cuffs hanging next to you on the wall, the thought of being sold making your insides turn.
You were just wandering around the day before, the excitement of finally arriving at the Sabaody Archipelago showing in every step you took and in every word you spoke. If you had known what would happen, you wouldn’t have declined to go with your Captain, Luffy. You would have grabbed his hand, planted a sweet kiss against his warm cheek and told him to take you to wherever he pleases. But, with a frown now on your face, you told him you would go with Zoro. You should have known that sooner or later, Zoro would take the wrong way and leave you alone, but as you haven’t been in the group for too long; you were none the wiser. After merely an hour of you being alone, your vision was blocked and your hands were tied together, only being opened once you were put in this cell and cuffed again.
The others were probably worried sick about you and you felt yourself becoming scared– not about what would happen to you, but rather what would happen to Luffy once he found out where you were. It was no secret that Pirates had to be extremely careful here, the danger in form of the Marine waiting around every corner. But, as you knew the leader of the Strawhats, your boyfriend, he would tear the house apart before he could think twice about it, with no thought to what would happen afterwards.
And it would be your fault.
“Are you not listening? I will repeat myself one more time, five, get up and come towards us.”
Your head snapped to the voice of the woman, who was visibly tense by your lack of attention. She glowed with anger, but you still didn’t move. It was as if your body was frozen.
The woman sighed and looked at the man in apology. She grabbed the keys from her pocket and opened the cell, letting the man walk in first.
“We would appreciate if you would teach your new belonging a lesson.” She spoke, her voice filled with a tint of glee. Her dark eyes found yours and in a way that said ‘have fun’, she had risen her eyebrow.
The man in front of you was quickly by your side and pushed the sleeves of his shirt up, but before he did something, he smiled at you– gentle.
“You’re so precious,” His smile turned wider. “I can’t wait to break you.”
You wince and try to hide your figure between your hands, your body terrified of being hurt and no way to escape, when a loud rumble echoes through the giant building. The walls on your cell were visibly shaking, the woman and her client taking a few steps back. “I’m sorry, sir, but we have to l-leave.”
And then you heard the voice of the only man you ever felt your heart beat for, the man who was busy crushing everything and everyone a floor above you-- his mind only searching for your figure.
“Y/N!” Luffy’s voice was muffled from the walls between you, but it was still clear.
You tried to stand up, but the cuffs didn’t let you go anywhere. You shook the shackles as loud as you could to give away your location, the bruises on your arm from the hours you had to sit here burning with every move.
“Y/N!” You heard again, closer this time. “Where are you!”
You tried to scream, but a piece of cloth was tightly wrapped around you, banning the sounds from springing towards him.
“Shut the hell up!” The woman hissed, and grabbed onto your arm, her fingers digging into the already aching piece of muscle. You whined.
Then a loud bang almost deafened your right ear as the wall next to you crumbled to several pieces. Instinctively you hid your face from the pieces of stone, but once you registered what happened, you shook the shackles once more, showing Luffy that he had finally found you.
“Y/N!” He called once his eyed found you pressed against the wall. You nodded your head, your body going slump at the exhaustion of the last hours. “Just a minute!”
And as quickly as he appeared, his hands turned into fists. His eyes turned pitch black and in the lowest voice he spoke the next words, “Gomu Gomu no…”
You closed your eyes for a few seconds.
The next time you opened them, Luffy was by your side, a drop of blood on his cheek– but it wasn’t his.
“Are you okay, Y/N?! I’m here!” You nodded your head heavily and once Luffy broke the shackles, you ripped the fabric from your lips.
“Luffy!” You jumped into his arms, sniffing loudly.
Not helping himself, he started to smile. “Y/N, finally you’re back.”
And then his arms surrounded you not once, but a million times as he pressed you closer towards him.

Can I request like,"ace doesn't die" au where,Ace had a female friend (who crushed on him) on the crew and she never liked physical contact, like hugs, and the first thing she does when he is saved is tackle him to the ground with tears in her eyes, and she just keeps holding his hand and hugging him and she end up confessing?
sorry if it’s a bit short I still need to get back to writing more scenarios hnhnhhngggh
Ace doesn’t die scenario
To say that the battle currently unfolding was heated is a hugeunderestimation. This wasn’t like the regular fights (Y/N) and hercrew fought throughout their lives. No, this was war- and not just anywar. It was clear that no matter who would win today, the world would neverbe the same afterwards.
(Y/N), a pirate who sailed the seas asa member of the Second Division of the Whitebeard Pirates, wasfighting off multiple marine soldiers at once, while always glancingtowards the execution platform where her comrade was held. Portgas D.Ace, leader of her Division, best friend, and long-term crush.
~a few days earlier~
When the news of his capture reachedher ears, the young woman immediately prepared to set sail in orderto free her endangered comrade. And if it wasn’t for her friendsholding her back, she would’ve probably went through with it and bedead now. „Damn it (Y/N)! Throwing your life away won’t bring himback to us! Do you think Ace would want to return, only to discoverthat his beloved crewmate died in a futile attempt to save him?!“
So instead of directly sailing towardsImpel Down and most likely getting captured or killed in the process, (Y/N) joined up with therest of the Whitebeard Pirates and went to Marineford a few dayslater. Her body was aching as they were nearing their destination, and her thoughts only circled around one man, Ace.
„Oi, (Y/N)! Come here, let’s drinktogether! This brew is exceptionally good!“
„Ace! (Y/N) hit me! That was thethird time now, go on and finally punish her!“
„Haha, did you try to flirt with heragain? You should know by now that (Y/N) hates it when someonetouches her, so be grateful that she didn’t break your hand!“
„Don’t you ever touch my beloved crewmate or Iwill burn you to a crisp, got it?“
„Hey, someone call a doctor! (Y/N) isinjured! Damn it (Y/N), don’t you dare leave me! …I need you.“
The young woman sighed heavily andturned her face towards her ‘Dad’, Whitebeard. He was originallyagainst her coming here, saying that it would be futile and that hewouldn’t want to lose his beloved daughter. But in theend, she was still a pirate and it was for her to decide where shewanted to go. Just wait a little longer, Ace, she thought determined,I’m coming to save you!
~back to the present~
The fight already went on for quite awhile, and the moment of Ace’s planned execution was gettingcloser and closer. Both sides suffered grave casualties already, butthe battle took another unexpected turn when suddenly a marinewarship filled with escapees from Impel Down fell out of the sky. And out of nowhere, Whitebeard decided to join forces with a boy wearing aStrawhat, who seemed to lead the former prisoners and was revealed to be Ace’s youngerbrother. At first, (Y/N) had a hard time believing that the boy couldkeep up with all the heavy-weights assembled on the island, but afterwitnessing him defeat a bunch of marine soldiers with ease shedecided to put her trust into him as well.
And now, Ace was finally in reach and(Y/N) was keen on doing whatever it would take to save him. But thecloser they got, the stronger the enemies were- and soon, (Y/N)reached a point where she found herself surrounded by soldiers. But instead of running away, she clenched her teeth and stormed into the mass of enemies infront of her, I won’t give up! we will take Ace back!
The Whitebeard Pirates did their bestto cover Strawhat and help him push forward- he was their best shotat getting to Ace after all. (Y/N) was so focused on keeping the enemysoldiers’ off of her back that she didn’t notice how Luffy reachedthe execution platform. Suddenly, a bright golden light spreadthroughout the Plaza, and she had to cover up her eyes in order notto get blinded.
„It’s Sengoku the Buddha!“ one ofthe marines next to her exclaimed confidentally, „now it’s over foryou filthy pirate trash!“ he turned to (Y/N) andmaliciously grinned at her, before aiming his pistol at her chest andfiring a bullet. But (Y/N) saw it coming and immediately dodged theattack, before rushing forward and burying her sword in the soldiersabdomen. No, we won’t fail, not now that we’ve come this far!, shethought and looked over to where the platform was, but a thick cloudof dust and rubber was blocking her view. Worry and fear started torose in her chest as the gigantic figure of the golden Buddha wasall she could recognize. Did the boy’s plan fail after all…?
But just a few seconds later, tears ofjoy started to drip down her face as she saw the giant fire tunnelconnecting the now destroyed execution platform with the plaza.„ACEEE!“ (Y/N) and all of her crewmembers started to rejoice at thesight of the Second Division Commander.
He did it! Strawhat did it! She laughedhappily and wiped away her tears with the back of her hand beforerushing to the spot where the fire tunnel appeared. Multiple marinesstood in her way, but she either quickly cut them down or simply ranpast them. There was no time to engage in petty fights now. Thefire came closer and closer and soon she could see the silhoutte of herbeloved Ace. (Y/N)’s vision turned blurry as more tears formed inher eyes, but she didn’t stop nor did she slow down. Since he had his backturned to her, Ace didn’t notice the woman running towards him untilshe crashed into the suprised man and tackled him to the ground.
„What the—?“ suspecting an enemytrying to take him down, Ace prepared to fire an attack, butimmediately stopped in his tracks as he recognized the person that was nowlying on top of him.
„…(Y/N)…?“ he questioned indisbelief before quickly sitting up, and firing a single fire bulletagainst a marine who had tried to attack them while they were on the ground. After the enemy fell, Ace immediately turned his attention back tothe woman that was now sitting in his lap and still had her armswrapped around him. He wanted to say something, but was at a loss forwords when he felt something wet against his chest. She was… crying?
„You… you damn idiot… how dareyou go and get yourself captured,“ she sobbed before looking up athim with tears streaming down her face, „I… I THOUGHT I WOULDLOSE YOU!“ (Y/N) shouted before burying her head in his chest oncemore.
Ace was in completele shock and blinked a couple of times while still staring down at her.
This… this is the first time that shevoluntarily hugged anyone… He thought back to the countlessattempts of crewmembers to hug her or pat her on the head, but shewould always reject it and tell them to knock it off. Haha, shecertainly is a special one! Thatch would always joke, Better give hertime, she might get comfy around us eventually.
But no matter how much time passed, shealways refused to accept any form of physical touch. So for her outof all people to jump at him and hug him like this, left Acecompletely shocked.
„(Y/N), I… I didn’t realize that Imade you worry that much… you’re…“ Ace didn’t manage to finishthe setence as a pair of soft lips suddenly pressed against hismouth. The whole battlefield seemed so far away all of a sudden, andthe only thing he could clearly recognize was (Y/N). She feels… so warm, he though as his one body unvoluntarily heated up as well. He slowly pulled back to look her in the eyes, still very suprised by all of her sudden actions.
(Y/N), you…. „BAAAAAHHHHH!“Luffy’s loud voice suddenly interrupted the intimate moment and bothturned their heads to come face to face with the young man, who stuckhis tongue out of his mouth and made disgusted sounds. „Ace! That’sICKY!“ he shouted while his face turned a dark green and it seemedas if he was on the verge of throwing up.
„Kiss your girlfriend when I’m notthere, damn it! Ehh… That sight will haunt me in my nightmares…“both Ace and (Y/N) couldn’t help but laugh at his younger brother’sidiocy, and slowly started to get up while locking eyes. A bright redblush spread across (Y/N)’s face, and Ace finally realized the meaning behind the tears she previously shed against his chest.
„I… I’m sorry… But Ace, I…. Ireally, really, really…“ she was interrupted by a single fingerbeing pressed against her lips, and now it was her turn to look atAce in confusion.
„I am so sorry for causing you andeveryone so much trouble… And truth to be told,“ he shyly smiled ather while cupping her face with his hands, „I…. I always wanted to do this, too.“and I’ve been longing for your touch ever since I first saw you, headded mentally and leaned in again to kiss her, but this time thecouple was interrupted by none other than Marco.
„Great and all that you two crazylove-birds finally got together, but don’t forget that this isstill a battlefield-yoi,“ he explained and gave them a scoldinglook, but with a glimmer of amusement in his eyes, „now let’s getthe hell outta here.“ Both Ace and (Y/N) nodded in understandmentwith a blush of formidable size forming on their cheeks.
„Alright, let’s do this!“ Aceexclaimed and wanted to throw himself right back into the battleagain, but something- or rather, someone- held him back. And uponlooking down, he realized that (Y/N) was holding his hand. His eyeswandered to her face and she gave him a look filled with love andhappiness.
„(Y/N), I-“, „I won’t let go ofyou ever again,“ she smiled before drawing her sword, „now let’sget you back to Pops.“ Ace smiled at her admiringly, and his heartwas filled with excitement at the thought of finally being with (Y/N)once they were back.
No matter the outcome of this war, Ialready won.

Ace is either blind or gets sick very easily (poor nutricion as a child) and marco meeting or being protecting/possesive of ace's attention.
Alright, not really a pairing? Maybe like preMarcoAce? This kind of falls under the poor nutrition! Enjoy!
{Under read more for length}
When they had taken out the mercenaries, the crew readily handed themselves over as they didn’t want to be killed. Whitebeard had been pleased by that, knowing once you take down the fighters that the rest is easy to overcome. Haruta had told him this ship was marked for transporting high dollar goods, so he decided to let his sons have some fun and to release pent up energy.
The order was sent out to his sons to launder the ship, Marco taking the task of going for the prisons just to see if anyone was there. It took the first division commander a little time to make his way to the depths, telling others orders along the way, and finally reached the door. It was locked and easily he kicked the door down, but not too harshly in case someone was trying to escape and had nothing to do with the merchants. Taking a few steps in, he is hit with the scent of something rotten, feeling his stomach curl at the familiarity of the vile smell.
When he stepped along past the first two cells, he was starting to notice in the very last of the six cells of it looking darker, like a pile. Moving along a little more hurriedly as he doesn’t like the decaying smell starting to grow stronger and was right on his assumption. Blue eyes stare in disgust for how those men could do this, taking in the sight of the pile of dead bodies, all ranging of males and females between the ages of around thirteen to twenty-five. It makes his stomach twist and eyes sting, never wanting to see something like this or admit that life really was this cruel to innocent people, but it really was the harsh reality.
A soft sigh leaves him, trying not to take in the smell, as he doesn’t want to leave the area, but also knows that he should let someone know so they can properly bury and maybe identify for the families. As he is about to move away, he notices a lingering presence that pulls his mind to the pile in confusion. Furrowing brows, Marco stares for a moment longer and notices the feeling again and realization hits him.
Someone was alive in that pile.
He moves over to open the door as it is unlocked and the presence seems to disappear. Whoever it was is either so deeply buried or knew how to hide themselves. He shifts to be crouching, noticing the blood on the floor and how it was thick from lingering so long and he could see some of the bottom bodies looking to already beginning to decay with skin showing spots.
“Is someone in there, yoi?” Marco starts off softly and waits for a moment before continuing. “My name is Marco. I’m with the Whitebeard pirates,” he tries and notices the feeling before there is a hand coming out of the pile towards the bottom. Marco resists the urge to grimace at the grime covering that arm, noticing how it was showing a bit of bone under the skin, but not nearly as bad as some of the other bodies. When more shifting shows dark hair, he is soon faced with a grimed covered face and empty dark eyes staring to him. It could make him wince at the sight, but there is a lingering strength in those eyes that gives him a bit of hope, and he merely keeps a soft appearance. “Are you the only one, yoi?” The question comes out, the youth staring before slowly nodding their head. Marco extends a hand, thinking this was a male, but wasn’t sure. “Come on, let’s get you cleaned up and something to eat. Plus, our nurses will help you with any wounds.” The words leave him, relieved as though the person is reluctant, they seem to find some type of solace in him.
A trembling hand finds his hesitantly, Marco letting them have the time to adjust and starts to help them out. Getting the male out, he is around twenty-two and thin, seeming to have very little muscle left and hardly any fat, but his bones are not showing that noticeably. The pants on him hardly stay on, the rope holding them up fraying and threatening to break any moment. Marco carefully helps the young man up to stand on shaky feet as his height has him lingering around to about Marco’s chin. A noise comes from the door at the end of the cells and has Marco aware.
“Commander?” It is someone from fourth division and Marco turns his head to speak.
“Have Maybelle be ready and bring me a blanket, yoi.” The order comes out, the man noticing only slightly of another person with him, but that’s it from that distance.
“Yes, sir!” The man leaves and Marco steadily helps the young man move along down the hall of cells, feeling as fingers dig into his forearm.
“What is your name?” Marco tries, receiving eyes that merely linger in uncertainty and that has the commander shake his head. “You don’t need to answer, I was just curious so I could address you properly.” The look stays, contemplating as they move along and Marco merely gives a soft smile before facing more forward to see Thatch by the door with a glance to the other. There is a silent communication, Thatch’s eyes glancing towards the last cells and figuring it out easily.
“Here is a blanket, Maybelle is ready by the railing.” Thatch informs his brother, Marco nodding while he lets the other go back up first.
The trip up the steps didn’t take too long, but Marco made sure not to rush and had the blanket over the young man. When out on deck, a few had glanced, but knew better than to stare as they made their way over to the Moby Dick. Whitebeard stood by the railing, frowning as he recognized the signs on the youth next to Marco and made sure to show a calm atmosphere. Maybelle awaited for them to be on deck, leading Marco and the young man to the infirmary swiftly to do the examination.
-o-o-o-o-
Marco found out the young man sought comfort in him, making him curious and not wanting to ruin that somewhat trust. He made sure to stay with the youth, finding out after a quick bath that he couldn’t help but let his protective instincts come into play and help bathe the male. They didn’t seem to mind, a little startled, but relaxed more through the process of Marco helping clean him, knowing he had to be feeling weak.
Come to find out, there are freckles all along the youth, surprising Marco and indulged a little at the sight. It had him second guess his age estimate made before, thinking maybe the young man was actually just seventeen. Either way, he shouldn’t have been in that situation and having to experience so much. He had cleaned him up, seeing the bruising and healing lashes along skin, being hard to tell what weapon made them.
The thing that got Marco’s veins boiling is the fact the men of the ship were sick bastards, having him leave the youth in Maybelle’s care. The young man seemed to be comfortable around the head nurse and she had helped him dress while Marco went to go see his captain. He told Whitebeard that the young man had nodded that also part of the merchants inappropriately had their way with the boy, noticing his captain seeming angered as well. He had ordered that Haruta get information however he could and painfully so for what happened.
Now, Marco made sure the young man was with him, Maybelle thinking it was best since he would go out near others if Marco is there. She wasn’t sure on the sudden connection, but couldn’t deny it was for the best. Marco worried as he would trail around, seeing as the other was sluggish and tried to keep up. It was a good thing that Marco could focus on paperwork mostly, letting the young man rest fully. At night, Marco always found himself gripped onto and couldn’t deny his instinct to protect the other with his life.
“Ace,” the voice was soft after a few nights of their new passenger and Marco gives a confused hum. “My name is Ace…” The words have Marco open eyes and tilt his head to look to the young man laying against him, seeing dark eyes staring a little nervously.
“It’s good to meet you, Ace.” Marco softens himself as he smiles while moving his hand along the other’s back, the shirt only moving slightly at the action. “Are you getting enough rest, yoi?” The worried tone shows and Ace gazes with a frown showing before moving a hand and looking towards Marco’s chest. A couple fingers tap near the collarbone and Marco raises eyebrows. The hand soon moves to grab at Marco’s free one and leads it to touch along the youth’s collarbone. At a skim, Marco feels his power being sapped from him vaguely and is surprised. “You’re a devil fruit user…” Marco sits up, dragging the other with him to feel at the skin, noticing the scarring and knowing it had been there for a while. “We will have Maybelle remove it…”
Ace looks to him, showing a small bit of dancing light in dark eyes as they begin to water and arms shakily move to wrap around Marco’s torso. The commander is confused, but holds onto the other as he feels the quivers and the soft sobs are starting as the face digs into his shoulder. He figured Ace had been overwhelmed and started to realize he was really out of that situation, breaking down a bit, but nowhere near what Marco has seen. It’s heart wrenching seeing Ace like this, but he knew that in a short amount time he was able to pull this out then he wasn’t too far gone yet, that strength seeming to pick up more.
“We have you now, Ace. You don’t have to worry, yoi. I would hurt anyone if they even tried to do something bad to you.” The words come out for reassurance, Marco knowing he was feeling overprotective, but he couldn’t help himself. Even his phoenix was in high alert with the other around, making sure no one pulled a wrong move towards Ace.
It was as if he claimed Ace as well since the youth did with him and he was curious on how Ace had so readily came out when mentioning he was a pirate. Hopefully it had been from rumor of the Whitebeard pirates being fair enough to those not involved with the enemy. Either way, Marco had been happy that he came out to be here and let himself heal. Marco was sure to make Ace feel at home and help ease his terrible past.

Ok if your feeling up to it or want to. How about Older Ace somehow ends up with ten or seven year old Sabo. Like he got a wish or something and his mind automatically went to Sabo or something like that. More feels if he still thinks his Sabo is dead. But what would their interaction be? How would the WB react to this little kid that Ace might have a little cried over?
hello i overthink things and also i’m sorry it took so long and listen, okay, I’m leaning real heavy here on One Piece physics so if it doesn’t seem possible just–idk, sorry
–
“Hey, you okay?” Ace asks, hitting his knees and sliding a few inches. “Are you hurt?”
The little kid looks up at him with big teary eyes and sniffs. Then she throws herself directly at Ace’s chest and he catches her on instinct.
“Hey, now, little lady, you’re safe now,” he tells her, scooping her up and standing. She’s so tiny, and so light. Probably not even ten yet, and her dress is torn and dirty. He runs his free hand down her tiny back and keeps babbling. “Hey, miss, it’s over now. Don’t you worry ‘bout anything, okay? I gotcha.”
He heads back up to the deck, keeping an eye out. The Whitebeards do good work, though, and all the enemies are down. Luckily the girl keeps her head tucked into his shoulder, and he’ll take snot and tears over her seeing the carnage any day.
When they hit the deck, Vista looks up and sees Ace and the girl and blanches. “Nope,” he says, and backs away. “Nope, no, that’s on you.” And he flees, because he’s a coward who is scared of children.
That’s fine, though; one of her hands is twisted in his hat string and he probably couldn’t set her down even if he wanted to. Which he doesn’t, of course; she’s only just now stopped shaking. “You’re so brave,” he tells her hair, and even if it’s only a distraction, it’s enough. “Don’t you worry, pretty lady, you’ll be home safe in no time.”
She hiccups and nods against him. He wraps his free arm around her and leans back to look at her face. “Hey, darling,” he says, and gives her a smile. “You wanna do something cool?” She just looks at him, so he adds, “We’re gonna fly a bit, okay?”
Her face lights up, and he tells her to put both arms around his neck and hold on tight. The gap between the ships isn’t that big, but the Moby Dick is much taller. He takes a few running steps, uses the railing as a launch point, and jumps for it.
She squeals with glee and he’s careful on the touchdown, bending deep at the knees to make it smooth. It’s worth it because she’s laughing, and her voice is high and clear. “You’re a sweetheart, aren’t you?” he asks, stepping down from the railing to the deck. “Are you hurt anywhere?”
She gives him a shy look and then boots him in the solar plexus. He wheezes and folds over a bit but doesn’t quite drop her. “Ow,” he says, and the little hellion giggles at him, then raises her foot again, managing to miss him this time.
There’s a bracelet on her ankle–no, a shackle, and he still can’t breathe but now it’s out of anger. She shrinks from him, cringing in his arms, and he fixes his face immediately. “That’s no bracelet for a pretty girl like you,” he gets out, and touches it with a finger of fire.
It’s not even seastone because his fire melts right through it; she doesn’t even flinch from the heat, and he stops to let it cool then pries it off entirely. “Anything else?” he asks, and when she wiggles he sets her down.
She’s barefoot on the deck, in her torn dress and dirty hair, but when she looks up and says, “Mama,” it sounds like bells and psalms.
He kneels down and offers her a hand. “We’ll find her,” he promises.
She shakes her head. “Mama,” she says again, and points behind him.
Ace glances back, then startles so hard he almost falls over. There’s suddenly someone there, and she might be a woman because that’s the only word that’s even remotely close. She’s ephemeral and grace incarnate, and he knows she is beautiful but he could never describe why.
His first instinct has him between this new person and the little girl, but then he remembers the way she said mama. And then he thinks of the way the little girl laughed and the metal shackle, and he looks at the newcomer and stands up straight.
“Lady,” he starts, and keeps his shoulders back and his hands off the girl. “Might she be yours?”
The Lady looks at him, then reaches out a hand towards the girl. “She might be,” she agrees, and oh, hell, word games? There goes any chance of this ending well.
Makino would tell them stories, sometimes, if they hung around long enough. Luffy liked the adventures and the tales of the seas, but Sabo’d liked the fairy tales. Ace knows just enough to know he really wishes that he’d paid more attention, or that Sabo was here to talk for him.
“I am glad she is safe,” he says, slow and careful and thinking over every word before it leaves his mouth. There, that’s safe enough, isn’t it?
The Lady looks at him. “You are kind enough to rescue a child,” she says, “and you remember the old warnings and heed them.”
He only bows his head in acknowledgement and says nothing, because what do you say to that?
“And polite enough to know what not to say.” the Lady says, and laughs. “You may claim a boon from me, child. What would you ask?”
And this, at least, he knows. He can’t turn it down outright, because that is capital R Rude, but fairy gifts are fickle and capricious. “Nothing for myself, Lady,” he says, because if she hasn’t given a name he sure as shit ain’t asking for one. “Only for the health and wellbeing of the girl.”
She’s quiet a long moment, and he risks looking up at her. Finally she says, “You may have won a boon, mortal, but you have earned my favor.” Her fingers on his chin sear cold to his bones, and when she presses a kiss to his forehead his soul shakes.
She steps back and sweeps the girlchild into her skirts. “Your wish is granted,” she says, loud and carrying, and it cracks like thunder. “Fare thee well, child, and bear my favor proud.”
And she’s gone.
Ace’s knees give out and he hits the deck, shaking and shivering. He’s cold, he’s cold inside, and his skin burns where she left her mark. There’s hands on his back and shouting in his ears but everything is dark and spinning–
“Ace?” asks a voice he knows, a voice he can’t ignore, a voice from memory and nightmares, and his head snaps up.
“Sa–” he says and then chokes on his hope, because it can’t be, it can’t–
“What’s going on?” Sabo asks, because it is him, truly–it’s Sabo, just as Ace remembers him. He’s shorter now, with that missing tooth and a pipe in his hand and that dumb napkin ‘round his neck.
“Sabo,” Ace says, and grabs him into a hug. Sabo struggles a bit, but mostly for show; he gives up quickly and hugs him back.
“You okay, Ace?” someone else asks, and he finally looks up. There’s a crowd of crew around him, with Marco in the lead and the other Commanders close behind. The second they see he’s good, Marco asks, “Who was that, yoi? What happened?”
“She was a fae,” Sabo says, voice only barely muffled by Ace’s body. “The Lady of the Deeps. The girl was a changeling who’d gone wandering, and she’d been stolen back by those pirates.”
“And who are you, then?” Thatch asks, finally stepping forward.
Ace lurches to his feet, keeping both hands on Sabo’s shoulders. “This is my dead brother,” he says, unable to take his eyes off blond hair and a lopsided grin.
But little Sabo shakes his head. “I’m a manifestation of a memory,” he clarifies, “born of a wish and given form by fairy magic.”
Because that’s the fae all over; at their cruelest when trying to be kind. “But you’re still Sabo,” Ace says, and it’s almost not a question.
Tiny Sabo tilts his head back to give Ace that look and says, “Of course I am, Ace; don’t be dumb.”
And that’s Sabo down to the very core. Ace feels a wild grin spreading across his face. “You’re the dumb one, idiot.”
“You’re the idiot, moron,” Sabo bites back, and it’s just like every long afternoon spent in forests long ago.
“I missed you,” he says instead of continuing. “Sabo, I missed you so much.”
Tiny Sabo looks at him, then glances around at the crowd. “So much so you forgot your manners, huh?”
Oh, right. “This is Thatch–” he starts with, because Thatch is the closest, but Sabo waves a hand.
“I’m from you, Ace,” he says, “I know everything you do. I meant, introduce me to them.”
“Well, you coulda just said–”
Sabo steps on his foot and makes it hurt, and that’s right, he’d forgotten how awful Sabo could be, hadn’t he? “I hate you,” Ace hisses, flinching back and trying not to hop. “That hurt!”
Sabo opens his mouth to retort but Thatch plos down next to him. “Hey,” he says, and holds out a hand. “I guess you know me, but it’s nice to meet you, Sabo.”
Sabo grins and takes the hand, shaking it twice. “Pleasure’s mine,” he says. “Thank you for taking care of my brother. I know he can be a handful, but–”
Ace sputters and lunges for Sabo, who dances out of the way. “–but he’s worth it!” Sabo finishes triumphantly, hiding behind Marco’s legs.
“Get back here!” Ace yells, jumping for him and accidentally tackling Marco. Sabo laughs and dances away, and before Ace can get up to chase him a hand grabs his shoulder.
“You okay, yoi?” Marco asks. “I don’t really get what happened, but you’re not hurt, right?”
“I’m fine,” he says, but Marco’s looking at him calm and even, and Ace owes him more than that. He thinks about it, but his fire’s burning hot as ever, and while his forehead still tingles it’s no longer hurting. “I am fine,” he repeats. And he is, of course, because, “I have Sabo back.”
And he looks away and hurries to get up before he has to face the next question. He really doesn’t want to think about for how long?
It’s a question for later, because even from here he can hear Sabo telling a blatantly untrue story to a fascinated audience of Second Division members. “–into the alligator pit,” he’s saying when Ace finally catches him.
“It’s not true,” he tells his subordinates quickly. “He’s a liar; he lies! It’s not true!”
“Someone’s lying here, but it’s not me,” Sabo says, and Haruta reaches out to free Sabo from Ace’s headlock.
“Oh, please,” Harute croons. “Tell us more.”
Sabo grins and says, “Feed me and I will.”
“Deal!” Haruta agrees, then takes his hand and bounces off, already hollering for Thatch.
–
They end up having a feast on the main deck that night, watching the stars come out together. Sabo’s everywhere, talking to everyone, and Ace is right on his heels. He scoops up tiny Sabo only to be mauled viciously until he lets go, Sabo runs off, and then the cycle starts again.
Then the food comes out, and Thatch stops by with a huge platter of the best bits, just for Sabo. Ace tries to snag a bit and gets his hand slapped for it. “Hey!”
“That’s for Sabo,” Thatch tells him. “Have you seen how skinny he is? And also I like him better than you.”
That doesn’t even hurt because Ace likes Sabo better than himself too. “Yeah, well, we got our own food as kids,” he says, trying to glare at the food Sabo’s happily shoveling into his mouth. It’s probably more of a yearning stare, though, because Thatch huffs at him and goes to fetch a second platter.
He hands it over and asks, “You got your own food?”
“Yeah, hunted it and everything.” Ace says, and then takes his first bite. It’s so good, just like always. He makes sure to swallow before he says, “Thanks.” Then he dives back in.
And then he wakes up, face down in some mashed tuber dish. There’s a quiet conversation going on over his head, and he blinks groggily and tunes in.
“We never starved,” Sabo’s saying. “If we couldn’t catch anything, we could go into town for a dine and dash, or if we were real desperate we went back to our caretaker’s. Sometimes I’d sneak food out of my house, but it was never much.”
“I just thought he had a really fast metabolism,” Thatch says just as quietly.
“That too,” Sabo agrees, then pokes Ace in the ribs. “If you’re not gonna eat that…” he says pointedly, and Ace glares at him and stuffs his face furiously.
Sabos laugh is exactly as he remembers it, but then, it would be, wouldn’t it? Just another reminder that this Sabo isn’t his to keep, and his mood plummets.
“I’m gonna go make some hot chocolate for everyone,” Thatch says suddenly, standing. “I’ll bring some out when it’s ready.”
It’s a poor excuse to leave, but if Ace gets hot chocolate out of it, he really can’t complain. He nods, and a bit of tuber mash falls off his face.
Sabo tsks at him and produces a handkerchief from…somewhere. “Your face is a mess,” he says, and Ace grumbles but lets tiny Sabo climb up onto his lap to dab at his face.
It doesn’t take long, and then they’re left, quiet and staring, in each other’s presence.
Finally Ace asks the bitter question that’s been behind his teeth all night. “How long?”
Sabo sighs and says, “Not much longer. It’s up to you, but it has to be soon.”
“What do you mean?” Ace asks, but he doesn’t need to.
“You have to set me free, Ace,” Sabo says. “I know you know how.”
Ace does, is the thing, and it’s all Sabo’s fault. Sabo and his stupid fairy tales, he thinks, but he remembers the rules. Always be polite. Take nothing. Give no offense. A fae creature’s contract ends when gratitude is given.
“I don’t want to,” Ace says instead. “Sabo.” But it’s not enough, so he repeats, “Sabo.”
“I can’t be here come dawn,” Sabo tells him quietly. “Ace. You know this. Let me go.”
“No,” Ace says. “I only just got you back–I can’t.”
And Sabo smiles at him, slow and gentle. “Of course you can. You never needed me, Ace. Not like I needed you.”
“Of course I did–”
“Look around you,” and Ace does. “Look, Ace. You have a family. You have a father you respect. You have a home and a place and a purpose, and you did it all on your own.” He places his small hand on Ace’s cheek and leans in until their foreheads touch. “You don’t need me, Ace. So let me go.”
There’s tears in his eyes when he chokes on the words, but he gets out, “Thank you. Thank you, Sabo. Thank you. You were my friend when I had no one and my brother by choice. You didn’t hate me for my name, and you took care of Luffy and taught me how to be a big brother and I miss you, Sabo.” And Sabo smiles like he knows, but he’s also drifting apart like a dream and Ace tries to hold him closer as he says, quiet and desperate, “Thank you for loving me.”
When he opens his eyes, Sabo’s gone, and all he has in his hands is glowing dust and empty hopes.
–
When he steps out onto the deck, the sunlight almost blinds him. He blinks it away and squints around.
The deck is chaos. There’s crew everywhere, rushing back and forth with buckets and ropes and barrels, and it’s the type of specialized frantic that heralds special guests. Marco’s over to the side, directing, and Ace meanders in that direction.
“We expecting someone?” he asks, leaning beside Marco and hiding a yawn. “I didn’t hear about anyone dropping by.”
Marco gives him a quick assessing look, and Ace gives him a small nod. He feels empty and scraped clean, but in a good kind of way, so it’s fine. His fire’s still burning and his forehead feels like the Lady never touched it.
“Kinda last minute,” Marco says. “We got a call this morning from the Revolutionary Army, yoi. Apparently their second in command has an urgent message for us.”
“Really?” Ace asks. “Huh. I wonder what it could be.”
“Who knows?” Marco says, shrugging. “Could be anything.”

On the Baratie, Prologue - a One Piece Mermaid AU Text Story
Thanks to everyone who sent in their opinion on the East Blue stories poll! I think Sanji’s had the most, so we’re starting off with more Baratie!
While there’ll be a continuation, here’s a bit of prelude, because they need a different reason to go to the Baratie. The ASL Pirates already have a cook after all!
Like a prologue to On the Baratie, Part 1
~~
When Thatch makes up his mind to accompany Ace back to East Blue, he knows that there's one place he wants to visit no matter what.
He's only been to East Blue once, and it was honestly ages ago, and he doubts there'll be another chance in the near future. Not many opportunities to visit the weakest Blue as a commander in an Emperor's crew, after all.
And while Thatch doubts he'd travel halfway around the world for the sole purpose of visiting this spot, he's lucky. Because on this particular trip, it's practically along the way. They're passing right by the area on their way back to re-entering the Grand Line, so there's no way in hell he's letting this slip by.
It's the only request Thatch has made on this journey, and Ace and Luffy, who are the Captains and therefore technically get to decide where they go, have no objections. Luffy's already bobbing up and down in excitement, despite their guides estimating that they still have a ways to go.
"The Baratie, huh," Ace grins. "Never heard of it, we didn't pass by our first time through, did we Deuce?"
"You've never heard of it because you lived in the middle of nowhere, in a jungle with barely any contact with human civilization," Deuce says pointedly. "Most people in East Blue at least know of it, it's kinda famous."
Ace just shrugs, and Luffy whoops as the movement of his shoulders momentarily boosts her higher. Ace indulges her and repeats the movement more aggressively until she's bouncing, and Deuce sighs. The two captains' attentions have shifted, and now they're preoccupied by the most important topic of all: food.
"Food~!" Luffy sings, hopping from one arm to the other as Ace switches to spinning her around, and Deuce has to duck to avoid her tail. "Yummy yummy food at a restaurant! It's gonna be amazing!"
"It really will be amazing, if Zeff hasn't lost his touch," Thatch agrees, and Luffy and Ace cheer. "I've never eaten at this restaurant of his, but I was a fan of the Cook Pirates when I was a kid."
His expression darkens, and Ace stills, recalling that Thatch mentioned they all died or something.
"Sucks what happened to them," Ace offers.
But Thatch just shrugs. It was around a decade ago, and shit happens out at sea. "I'm just glad Zeff survived. He'll have trained the new cooks well, and it'll be funny to see the old man actually settled down as a civilian."
Thatch was still a teen the last time he saw Zeff, who was Captain of the infamous Cook Pirates back in the day. They were always picking fights, and picked the wrong one with Pops, and predictably lost. Pops let them live, and they had a grand party, and Thatch remembers being captivated by their culinary expertise.
Thatch chuckles to himself, and the two brothers look at him curiously, blinking with adorably similar expressions.
"I just remembered, Zeff tried to scout me. Pops wasn't thrilled."
Ace barks a laugh, hefting Luffy into a more comfortable position before she suddenly squirms out of his arms. Luffy makes a grabby motion towards Thatch, and Ace obligingly if reluctantly moves closer to let her swing up onto the taller man's shoulders.
Thatch perks up at the sudden attention, because it's not every day that the little mermaid chooses to climb someone other than her brother. Thatch knows she doesn't need it, but offers her a hand to get settled more comfortably, which she takes with a pleased little purring sound that makes his heart skip a beat. Thatch pointedly doesn't look at Ace, but he can still feel his burning gaze.
He's not sure what prompted the sudden transport transfer, but suddenly Luffy's leaning forward over his shoulder to peer directly into his face, and she's close. Thatch tries very hard not to blush.
"But if the Zeff-dude cooks are that good, are they better than you, Thatch?" Luffy asks, eyes wide. "That can't be right, because Thatch's food is the best in the world! Better than even Makino's!"
Those words do make Thatch flush crimson, and Ace snorts. Thatch ignores him, too busy trying to control the warmth bubbling up inside his chest.
Thatch doesn't think he's arrogant, but he also isn't unused to his food being praised. As ungrateful as most of his brothers back aboard the Moby usually are, he's still the head chef who leads the culinary division of their entire fleet, and it's a position he's earned. He's personally trained and assigned all of the cooks on every Whitebeard ship. He knows he cooks well.
But there's something special about Luffy's unique brand of painfully genuine praise. Even though they've been traveling together for a few weeks now, she never gets bored of singing her appreciation at every mealtime with, if anything, increasing enthusiasm. It's like every time is her first time trying his food. Thatch in no way needs her compliments to adore her, he was besotted far before she even knew he was a cook, but boy does he appreciate them, and he doubts he'll ever really get used to them.
Thatch has been called the "Best Cook in the World" by many, and he'd accepted their words politely. But to hear them from Luffy feels like the highest honor he can ever attain.
Thatch feels unbearably fond as he reaches up to fluff Luffy's hair, and she leans into his hand, eyes curving up into slits like a happy kitten, her tail curling back and forth at his back.
Ace cheerfully ruins their moment.
"We'll just have to see, Lu, and maybe if you like their cooking better, we can ditch Thatch and kidnap one of their cooks." Ace leers like the evil little shit he is, and Thatch gasps with exaggerated indignation.
"No, no!" Luffy boos her brother, clinging to Thatch like he's the embodiment of all the meals Ace had threatened she'd lose, before she swings her tail around to smack at Ace none too gently until he grudgingly raises his arms in surrender.
"If we like their cooking, then we can keep Thatch AND kidnap one of their cooks!"
"Lil Seastar, you're not satisfied with just me, even if my food is the best in the world?" Thatch teases, and sticks his tongue out at Ace when he scowls. The young Captain isn't so thrilled with Thatch's new nickname for his baby brother, and Thatch thinks it's fair revenge for him being mean.
"Thatch's food is the best!" Luffy cries again, and Thatch glows. "But if we steal a Zeff, then we have two cooks, which means more food!" She nods, pleased with her conclusion. "More food is always good!"
Well, she's a little confused, but her point is made. They hopefully won't steal Zeff himself, as Thatch doubts he'll be happy to part with his beloved restaurant, but perhaps nabbing one of his assistants isn't a terrible idea.
While handling even Ace and Luffy's appetites is no problem for Thatch, who's used to feeding the entire Moby Dick, some company in the kitchen might not be bad.
(And, a voice whispers in his head, that they'll need a cook that Thatch approves of when he inevitably has to leave to return to Pops. It's a voice Thatch ignores, so that he can enjoy this moment, for now.)
~~
~~
I don't think it's actually ever officially stated whether Thatch's Division is actually in charge of dining, but there are other divisions that are specified, so I thought it would be interesting, so I made it that way ^ ^;
(Edit: Actually it IS explicitly stated that the 4th Division is in charge of dining, this is canon and not just a headcanon whee~!)
And if Thatch as the head of the cooking division, then to me it makes sense that he'd be insanely good at it, not just your average chef. Because I mean, they're the Whitebeard pirates. And sure, they're not as food-centric as the Big Mom Pirates, but the WBs always have quality. Cooking, I feel, is a lot more subjective than say, "Strongest Swordsman in the World" but I don't think it'd be a stretch to say that Thatch is Up There.
This isn't at all to shit on canon!Sanji or his cooking which is probably also insanely good, but Sanji's a lot younger, and the places he's been, the people he's learned from, and the people he's cooked for are far more limited. He, like everyone else, is learning rapidly by stepping out into a far larger world.
Thatch, in comparison, has been on the Grand Line for a loooooong time, traveling with the most infamous crew currently in existence, and probably has picked up a LOT of things from a lot of people. While he doesn't have an official canon age, given the ages of the other Commanders (Marco 45; Jozu 42; Vista 47), I'm putting him at 41 here. That's decades of difference in experience.
It's one of the reasons why I think exploring Thatch and Sanji's mentor-rival relationship in this AU could be so much fun, because think of how much Sanji could grow with someone like Thatch in the crew.
Luckily, Sanji's dream is to find All Blue, not to defeat the cooking equivalent of Mihawk in Iron Chef Grand Line, so outside of fighting for the heart of the love of their lives, I think they can get along quite well ^ ^;
(also do u like his nickname for Lu. I had to consult a friend. But I think it's beginning to stick for me ^ ^;)
As always, any thoughts or comments make my day! Thanks for reading <3
