While the overarching story concerns Vincent, I’ve included glimpses of multiple characters’ futures.

Fear (Nils)

Nils balances hard work with long weekends at his vacation home. He’s walking his partner’s dog along the lakeside when Vincent calls him.

“…I keep finding Karin’s cozy romances in the house since she left and… fuck, how many did she own? … my parents watched Juni today and my dad snapped at her for asking so many questions… he always yelled at me for that… it was funnier then, I actually deserved it…”

It’s fear, not laughter, in Vincent’s voice.

Nils knows the dangers of downplaying one’s insecurities.

“Can I visit?” he asks. “Call August, too. You shouldn’t be alone.”
