Just thinking about having the reader just casually finding rare gems and metals. Also when the Monkey kings look away for a minute then just see reader working on an amazing build that, to them, came out of nowhere. You even built a better home for Lin to live in and a whole ass palace for dragon king, everyone was just shocked and impressed. Wukong not only brags about himself but he tells anyone who would listen about you amazing abilities, as a builder. He adores you more then anything in the entire world and gets all lovey dovey in his private time with you, and it never fails to make him blush. Eventually getting showered with gifts, jewels, and affection completely spoiled by you🥰.

(BMW Wukong) Ohhh, my the best way for you to win his heart???? is with shiny jewels and interesting treasures. Wukong would be wrapped around your finger. However, over time, Wukong also gets interested in everything else you're able to do as well. You're so strong, reliable, and kind and loving to him. Granted, the monkey missed you more than he'd like to admit.

It's been years and even before he was banished, Ne Zha could tell Wukong was crushing on you.

Ne Zha always tried to discourage him from pursuing you.

But it's always hard to change Sun Wukong, The Monkey King's mind.

Wukong should've known Ne Zha would take a successor based on how he viewed you.

After all, Wukong took in MK.

He never thought he'd have to fight you.

Yet, despite his fears, Wukong meets you again....

He wants to be happy when he sees you...

Unfortunately, you're a guardian with Ne Zha now.

It pains him.

Your first encounter in a long time is when he's trying to steal the Samadhi Fire map.

You look much more mature and stern now.

It almost irritates him that Ne Zha tried to train you in his image... but he's also thankful you're safe after all this time.

Imagine if Wukong doesn't take your entire fight seriously.

Like usual he's playful, despite the stress he feels.

Considering his feelings towards you, he may even be flirtatious, complimenting you as he tries to get the scroll.

He has to cut out such behavior when Ne Zha makes an appearance, glaring the Monkey King down.

I imagine you, like Ne Zha, are going to get dragged into helping defeat Lady Bone Demon.

Know what that means?

You get to spend time with both your mentor and old friend.

While they get to fight with one another.

Ne Zha is not keen on the idea of letting Wukong close to you again.

He not only doesn't want Wukong's mischievous rubbing off on you, but he doesn't like the fact you fought the Monkey King either.

Ne Zha really is like an overprotective sibling to you.

You two may not be blood related, but you're both celestials.

Meanwhile, Wukong just likes to pester you both.

You the most, often bringing up the past and trying to coax you into speaking with him.

Why so mad? He's saving the world again!

Don't you care for him?

Until you defeat LBD, Wukong is no doubt given the cold shoulder.

Before he's possessed, Wukong is incredibly affectionate.

He's missed you, often clinging to you and introducing you to all his friends.

He even shows you to MK, acting like you and him are meant to be partners (mates?).

Only for you to push him away, shaking your head, saying you're just friends while Wukong pouts.

He's a very playful yandere.

Perhaps a bit delusional too.

Wukong, like most animalistic yanderes, probably also secretly scents you like a cat.

Each hug is accompanied by him rubbing his cheek against you with small chitters.

He used to do this years ago, too.

In this case it's also a display of dominance to Ne Zha, who just grows increasingly irritated when Wukong does something with you.

You get a break from his behavior when LBD takes control of Wukong.

The monkey had intended to protect you, only for you to save him with MK and the others.

When the LBD threat is gone, you are free to go back to the Celestial Realm.

In fact, Ne Zha encourages you to go back so you're back in his care and can continue your duties.

Right, so from the start he's known about you. Of course, Nezha knows about most, if not all of the deities within the Celestial Realm, and you were no exception. To be honest, the two of you only have some interactions, just a simple 'hello' and 'how's your duties coming along?' you know, just simple talk.

Now, don't assume he doesn't like you, he actually thinks you're pretty interesting. While he protects that map to the Samadhi Fire, you play your music and melodies. Sometimes during his off-days (which are HORRIBLY) rare, he likes to sit down in the gardens you've made and listen to one of your performances.

Eventually the two of you get attached to each other and become the topic of some gossip with the other deities and officials...not like you guys care much. Blah, blah, blah, you two confess your feelings, everyone's happy, ect.

Now time for the actual headcanons!

He's very gentle with you, oftentimes giving you massages like the charming little Lotus Prince he is, especially since your fingers become sore after practicing with your instruments a little too much...

Of course he adores your playing! Why wouldn't he? It's common knowledge that you're a master at music, and he's a gentleman at heart. Like- did you really think that Nezha wouldn't be concerned whenever you talk about how your fingers hurt from playing? He's pretty damn observant when he wants to be, that's a guarantee.

High chance he went to your place after he got beat up by Wukong, complained about the guy when he was getting patched up. His ass is NOT going to simply...head immediately over to where that damned primate was. (he would've done it if he wasn't bruised as hell)

Sometimes he gives you gifts, especially on days that seem important to you (do deities remember their birthdays??), like one time he gave you a golden bangle with lotus and iris carving into it. He loves it when you wear them and you cannot change my mind-

He can get sleep-deprived a lot, and when he's really tired he likes to rest his head on your boobs. Calls them 'pillows fit for a god'...he also likes to rest his head on your lap, absolutely loves it when you comb through his hair, high chance he'll be out like a light.

Sometimes you ask (force) him to come down to the mortal realm with you for fun. You guys went to a museum once and Nezha got a bit sour after noticing one of the statues got his nose wrong or something lmao-

“The human realm has certainly… changed.”

Nezha glanced around the busy street. Shops with neon, glowing signs, street vendors with microphones haggling the people walking by, kids riding by on skates so much like his own but with four wheels on each foot. It was so different compared to 500 years ago.

“Yup.” Mk grinned, tossing an arm around Nezha’s shoulder. Niether were in their usual attire, not wanting to draw attention to themselves. Mk wore a simple blue shirt with a Monkie king logo on it, and his usual red pants and boots. Nezha wore… a Qipqo dress. Look he panicked and just tossed on the most modern thing he had. At least the shoes matched, right?

Mk motioned to me ye busy street, cars honking and swerving past eachother. “Home sweet home. Flower fruit mountain is great and all,” he said, “but I’m a city boy. Or, city monkey I guess.”

Nezha paused when Mk stopped, and took in the others now weary expression. It had been months since the collapse of the pillar, and even though everything had turned out fine… Nezha knew it was still weighing on everyone, Mk especially.

“You know,” Mk looked at Nezha, who looked at a shop sign nervously, “I… know what it’s like. To find out about a whole other part of yourself you never knew you had. To be… weary of it.” The ribbon user rubbed his neck, the heat of the monkies arm suddenly growing tenfold. His own face felt hot by comparison.

“When I discovered my mother had been a celestial, suddenly everything had made sense. My powers, my strength, the way I was born. It was surreal, and if I’m honest, it made me a bit scared of them. But,” Nezha glanced at mk, who looked at him with wide eyes, “over time I’ve come to realize that, while it’s part of me, it doesn’t change who I am.”

MK’s face softened, and his hand slowly slid from Nezha’s shoulder to… his waist, pulling the other closer. Nezha’s face once again felt hot, and the prince was sure he looked as red as MK’s bandana. But MK’s next words were what got him.

“Thank you.” the monkey boy whispered, soft and almost a rumble. Nezha stared into those dark brown eyes, and could only respond with, “Anytime.”

His ribbons brushed against the other man’s tail, and the furry appendage tugged playfully at it. After a moment of this, Mk tugged Nezha forward. “Come in,” he murmured, “Let’s go get some noodles.” Then he winked, and said, “Let’s make it a date.”

Nezha could have exploded right then and there, but he contained himself as mk lead him back to Pigsy’s dinner.

“And?” Asked Erlang, his warm tea turning cold, forgotten as he leaned closer to listen to his blushing pupil. “Did anything else happen?”

Nezha shook his head, fiddling with his cup. “Not really,” he said, before amending, “I mean, he would brush his tail against me, and put his arm around me and stuff but, we- we don’t kiss or anything.”

“But you wanted too!” Exclaimed the older man, tossing his hands up in excitement. “My student is making progress!”

“Not so loud,” hissed Nezha, hunching in embarrassment. “Father could hear you!”

Erlang rolled his eyes, but calmed down. “Alright alright,” he said, before smirking. “So when’s the wedding?”

- however, if you DARE even try to hug him, he's gonna get real nervous.

- doesn't know how to properly relax at your touch; he may not exactly move away from you, but he won't lean into it (at first).

- this especially goes for PDA – he loves you, but not now; he's gotta look cool and mysterious at all times.

- if you're with people that he lets his guard down around, he'll be a bit more playful with you.

Wanna know what the definition of insanity is? Trying to figure out what over 350+ characters look like in an ancient Chinese novel cause oh my god why are there so many characters how did anyone keep track of them

Anyways, I’m slowly but surely making it down the roster

Starting with one of my niche favorites from this novel, Lei Zhenzi. That one guy who ate the apricots that happened to turn you into a thunder bird

In a lot of modern adaptations, he’s more monstrous in his looks and personality. I’ve watched a movie where he was basically China’s version of the Hulk (it’s called The First Myth Clash of Gods. Not the best movie but it’s a huge guilty pleasure to me I love it lol)

He’s not like that in the book at all, in fact he’s kinda a fail girl in my eyes. I wanted to lean towards an interpretation where he may be this huge bird person (I’d imagine he towers over most of the other generals. Maybe like 6’8-7ft tall), but he’s still a little self conscious about it all. He can’t get around without making at least one stranger panicked at the sight of him. He was a person at birth, but his circumstances have completely changed everything

Also, I think he has the most underrated power concepts. I wanted to base him off of paragon falcons because imagine this guy diving straight at you at 240 mph with a trail of lightning behind him. I think a lot of Shang soldiers have described him as a sentient lightning bolt with how quick he is

Next is the Huang family! Which have more people so this yap session is gonna be way longer. Buckle up lol

I always saw Huang Feihu as this serious and commanding general, but he’s also that sweet old guy who’d drop the hardest wisdom when you needed it. It’s what makes him really generally well liked

Like when NeZha rescues him and his family, he expresses a lot of subtle gratitude to this stranger that just saved his family’s lives. NeZha, a little unused to this kind of affection, brushes it off initially. But it leaves a lasting impression that eventually leads to him really connecting with the rest of the family

Feihu really be pulling his weight as a single dad of 4 + NeZha /j

I know Lady Jia narratively serves as motivation for the Huang family to rebel, but if there’s one thing I’m known for it’s giving female characters all my attention like they deserve

I think Lady Jia is a foil to her husband. Where he was serious but sweet, she was sweet but serious. Always polite and quiet, but was very stubborn and more prideful. You could not get her to do something she didn’t want to

All their kids got their mother’s pride, especially after her death. Imagine being TianXiang, about 7 at the time, suddenly being thrusted into rebellion and grieving the lost of his mom. TianXiang stronger than me, I would not have survived

I was listening to the Ithica saga when I made these concepts, so I may have had a few EPIC Telemechus thoughts put onto him lol. TianXiang mainly takes after his dad, carrying a much stronger empathy that stems from him. He was a kid, so he did kid shenanigans even in the Zhou camps and any neighboring villages. But he’s got his father’s charm, how could you say no to him? Especially with everything going on

As for TianHua, he takes after his mom mainly. A prideful hothead who wants to do great things. I got a little confused about his origin in the translation I read, but I think he was taken away from his family by his master when he was like 3. Which means he never got a chance to connect with his mom as when he joins the rebellion she was long dead (oough imagine how jarring it was for him to come back only to be the brother that most resembles their mom)

Ultimately, their pride and emotions were what lead to the Huang family’s downfall. TianHua, in his pride and stubbornness to fight, ignores his master’s warning of his fate. His father and brothers next, fighting both the Shang army and their own grief over loosing another family member. And finally TianXiang, his pride to his family making him unwilling to acknowledge the Shang dynasty. Plus, he’s the last living member of his family, what is there to loose?

God this bloodline is so doomed…

I was gonna yap more about them all but I think I’ve already written a lot lmao. Maybe I’ll save some of those thoughts for another post

Wait. I know you've answered similar questions before, but I'm still curious about a specific thing. How does V!Wukong perceive other versions of himself who've gone through jttw? Does he have any particular thoughts about them—We all know he's got A LOT of opinions, especially when it involves his Moonlight. But what are his views on other Wukongs and the whole "you must behave or else (circlet)" stuff?

Also, I know he's destroyed his own world, but I'm intrigued about how he feels about the Celestials in other worlds—particularly figures like Nezha or (sorry, I forgot his name) the dude with the third eye. Some believe they might have had a close or "decent" relationship with Wukong. But again, a lot of that connection would have been formed during jjtw, which is why I'm asking.

Lastly, don't forget to take care of yourself!

Most of them deserves what happened to them and that they brought it all upon themselves He despise when they follow through the journey and think they were redempted in any way. They are being tamed, broken, dometicated. Lied to and manipulated. But he can't help someone that don't listen so he don't even try. It's easier to end their miningless life He hates most of celestials. Because most of them tried to kill him in his own world. He get why, but there was no one who stopped and saw his perspective. Nezha is one that he might not kill right away, where Erlang (3 eye guy) is the one that will die every time.

I guess ppl now ship wukong more with erlang cuz of yyyyy, the name uh black myth wukong was it? and cuz he was helping him somewhat on jttw ? (haven't read it but i've heard this much )

“Really? This is what got you sweating?” He asked. The Lotus Prince rolled his eyes and shoved Wukong, making him flip in the air and land on his feet.

“Leave me be, Wukong.” He sneered, walking out the door. Wukong cackled, watching as the boy barely kept his hands from shaking as he made his way to you.

S6 in the GS AU is low-key the most emotionally fraught season. No major threats on the horizon, only trauma, depression and identity crisis.

MK is having a full on existential crisis. Suddenly he's questioning Everything. Did he become obsessed with Monkey King because he subconsciously recognized his 'life's purpose'? Is he still Wukong's successor? Does he still want to be? Is he sure that he knows who he is outside of being 'The Monkie Kid'? He stops visiting as often and is kind of avoiding the Monkeys. Still messages occasionally but he's taking this season to have his like, 4th identity crisis and do some soul searching. Mei and Red Son are supporting him.

Macaque is Not Doing Great. He's been training non-stop since the end of S5. He needs to be back in shape. He needs to be safe in his own mind again. He Can Not and Will Not be used against anyone he cares about ever again. Also low-key avoiding literally everyone, including Wukong. He feels kinda bad about it, but he's also still upset (and as much as he doesn't want to be, he also doesn't want to stop being upset because he Can Feel That again). He also doesn't trust himself around anyone until he's sure 'he's no longer a danger to others'. Doesn't even really let the smaller monkeys close. Definitely not sleeping in the same house as Wukong. In his free time he Listens with his ears to check up on his daughters.

Speaking of the daughters. Recovery is a long, Long process. The Spider fam are doing their best and are helping a lot, but he's kids have been traumatized and groomed for basically their entire lives. They literally only have like 1 month(?) of peace in their entire lives and it was when they were just born. I can see them reaching out to Macaque first. (He'd technically understand them most, considering he was also being controlled and (assumably) blames Wukong for everything). (They think about reaching out to MK but they think he wouldn't want anything to do with them. They don't even consider Wukong). Macaque is beyond delighted and jumps at the chance. He's still terrified of hurting them but he Wants His Babies.

Wukong meanwhile is a Mess. He's trying to play it cool but this man is going through the worst depression episode he's had since the end of the Journey. He hasn't seen MK since the end of S5, Macaque has barely spoken to him and still won't look him in the eye. He nearly murdered one of his daughters and they both (understandably) hate and want nothing to do with him. Nezha is busy in heaven, and Pigsy, Tang and Sandy are more MK's friends/family than his. When the invite comes from Bai He and Chao-Xing to give a chance to Mihou and Only Mihou, he sees it as writing on the wall.

This Wukong gives me strong "I can be happy For them, even if I'm not happy With them" vibes. He sees everyone moving on and leaving him and it breaks him but he's also kind of happy? He's the reason they've all suffered so much and now they're healing, finding happiness. Without him. As they deserve. (A part of him is also glad that he hasn't been forgiven. Highkey sees himself as a curse and is glad that others are essentially dodging the bullet). I actually think Pigsy, Tang, Sandy and DBK would be the ones to step up and check on Wukong. They realize that no one has really heard from/checked on him in like 2 months and when they visit FFM they find out Macaque has been with the Spider fam for weeks bonding with the girls. Wukong hasn't eaten or gotten out of bed in days. They fully ignore him as he tries to tell him that 'he's fine' and 'just tired' and how 'you really don't have to do all this'. Wukong is very grateful and experiencing major deja vu to about how his pilgrimage brothers used to barge into his home to make sure he wasn't just wasting away in grief and guilt.

I can't decide if I like the idea of the twins killing snake boi and Wukong despairing about how not only could he not save any of his family, he couldn't even kill their abusers/spare them of having blood on their hands. Or Wukong killing him and then, not only does it not fix anything, it also solidifies him as a monster/someone to be feared and wary of for the twins.

MK is having the mother of all existential crisis, he's questioning absolutely Everything, from his behavior and personality down to the very basics of his physical form.

He's definitely having a major bout of body dysmorphia questioning what parts of him are him and what parts of him are his sisters.

He really, really fucking hates his ears, he only has four of them, but the colors are what set him off. His ears aren't in matching pairs, like his dad and sisters are, each of his ears is a different color, and those are too close to his sisters ears, albeit not washed out.

He is questioning his interest in Monkey King, and is convinced that it was him trying to fulfill his purpose like you said, and also dealing with the fact that the first thing he ever did was fail at his purpose. He was a failure from the start.

He's questioning his identity as the Monkie Kid and as Macaque's son, he was a lesser replacement after all.

And he has no idea who he is outside of the Monkey King, even before becoming the Monkie Kid, his life has been so influenced by Wukong's legacy that he doesn't know if he is anything outside of Wukong. Even his parents are the reincarnations of Wukong's brothers! And his best friend is the granddaughter of one of those brothers too!

Like I said, mother of all existential crisis.

He needs some time away from everyone to just think through this, and indeed do some soul searching.

After the twins dip out at the end of season 5, he quickly followed suit and used his new shadow powers to go home and pack a bag for the road, he's comprehending too much to think about anything else and he just needs something new and untainted by Wukong.

He does get very angry calls from his dads about running off like that, they understand but communicate, they would've helped him pack.

He is absolutely avoiding all the monkeys, good thing he has new ears to be able to constantly keep track of wherever they are if he chooses to use them, he tries his hardest not too.

Red Son and Mei are the only thing keeping this monkey sane, and oh boy do they have their work cut out for them. Mei is also taking this time to get her two dumb gay friends to admit they like each other, so it's not all bad at least.

Macaque

Macaque is doing Terrible, especially since he nearly killed Bai He when Xiangliu had control of him and he was much more conscious for that time.

He doesn't feel safe, the little bit of security he had was ripped from him. He isn't safe in his mind or body when he's so weak that anyone can come along and use his body for their own agenda.

He needs to make sure he can't do something so horrible again, he couldn't handle hurting his daughters a third time.

The boost to his power from the Jade Emperor is still there and it terrifies him to think that no matter what he does or how hard he trains to strengthen himself, if someone grabs that, they can take control of him all over again. Man's living in constant fear and paranoia.

He is avoiding everyone because he thinks he's a threat to them, and he still needs to process that he 1, forgot about his daughters, and 2, murdered them.

And he's justifiably upset at Wukong, he asked what happened to their cubs and Wukong didn't tell him. Wukong might have thought he was sparing him the pain, but he had a right to know what happened to his children.

Wukong only ended up causing him more pain when the truth inevitably came out, because he had to deal with both "I murdered my children" and the fact that his mate lied(withheld the truth but eh) to him.

And his feelings on that are conflicted because he loves his sunshine so much and he doesn't want to be upset at him, but he can be upset again, after so many years of not being allowed to feel anything, he can feel angry and upset and hurt and betrayed, and he doesn't want to stop feeling again.

A lot of his older feelings are coming back to the surface, he's remembering the burning of Flower Fruit Mountain and the brotherhood more clearly, and Wukong's blatant disregard of his worries and warnings and how that was what lead them to all this, Wukong's recklessness, which at this point has been so thoroughly beaten out of him, and his own willingness to trust Wukong over his hearing that told him they would loose.

These monkeys aren't even sleeping on the same side of the island, hell, sometimes he just goes somewhere else because he can't handle hearing Wukong's heart so close.

He's got one ear the twins at all times, he needs to know they're okay and alive and safe, he's not even listening to their conversations or trying to find where they are, he's just making sure he can hear their (slow) heartbeats. They aren't dead again, and that's honestly the only thing getting him through all of this, his daughters are alive, as long as they are alive, nothing else matters.

He does have an ear on MK too, but less intensely. He is also confronting the fact that when given the opportunity to make something by a goddess, somewhere deep, deep down inside of him, there was enough of him still there that he tried recreating what he had lost, there wasn't enough of him there to save his daughters but there was enough of him left to try replacing them.

So he's feeling super bad about replacing his daughters, both because nothing could replace them and how could he ever think that, and because it's the catalyst for MK's current bout of existentialism due to him being a replacement. He hurt his son by making him.

All he wants is to hold his babies again, but he doesn't think any of them will ever let him close enough to touch them.

Onto the twins!

Bai He & Chao-Xing

Their entire existence turned out to be a lie and the person who raised them saw them as nothing more than pawns to be used and discarded once they were no longer useful to him.

They have never truly known peace, even though they had one month of life before being murdered, that was happening at the same time as Flower Fruit Mountain actively being attacked and burned and people dying all around them, it was anything but peaceful.

Then they had Xiangliu as their "father".

He had made it very clear he didn't love them when they were children, but they thought he cared, he wouldn't have brought them back or given them as much attention as he did if he hadn't cared about them just a bit.

It wasn't all bad, there were good moments, he didn't love them, but he was the closest thing they had to a parent before Spider Queen came along.

So they are unpacking their semi-truck load of daddy issues from Snake Boi, and are also blaming themselves for being so easy to manipulate into perfect little pawns.

The spider fam has their work cut out for them to in getting the twins to unlearn all the toxic shit Xiangliu put into them.

As I briefly mentioned here he tried to make a scapegoat golden child dynamic between them, and he would prey on their insecurities for easier manipulation, knowing he was the only source of affirmation they had.

Then of course, they have a ton of guilt over their behavior towards their family and how they are the worst people to exist and they deserved to die because of it.

Spider Queen wants to beat the shit out of Xiangliu so badly for what he did to her spiderlings.

And like father like daughter, they think everyone else is better off without them and had no intentions of reconnecting with anyone for a while.

Mei got sick of the stalemate between the monkeys and the absolute radio silence from the twins, which is why she and Bai He's girlfriend pulled the pregnancy trick to find them.

Side note, anyone got a name for Bai He's gf? She is a snake demon.

Bai He is also dealing with substantially more relationship drama than Chao-Xing because she was actively with her girlfriend and lying about herself to someone she loved. Her gf understands that basically she had a wildly abusive parent who wouldn't let her go into the world as herself

Mei and Chao-Xing had gone on a few dates before MK caught the asshole who tricked him into thinking she was his friend and mentor making moves with his best friend and was very upset.

Mei didn't know Chao-Xing posed as a mentor figure and Chao-Xing didn't know Mei was MK's friend at the time, so they dropped dating for the time being and we're just aggressively gay with each other. Someone's gotta provide the homoerotic tension.

Mei and Bai He's gf join the spider fam in getting the twins to not hate themselves so much and onto the path to recovery from Xiangliu, and the idea to see what it was like when they were alive the first time came from one of them and that leads to them wanting to see Macaque again.

They saw how he did actually truly love them and cared for them, all while fighting off an attempted genocide.

There is a relationship to build off of with Macaque, Wukong doesn't have anything like that, he wasn't there. And he caused all of this, if he had just listened to macaque, they wouldn't have died.

It's an undisputable fact that his recklessness and arrogance got them killed.

Macaque doesn't entirely blame Wukong, he partially blames himself for being unable to convince Wukong to back down, but he can't ignore how much of this is genuinely Wukong's fault.

The twins are very hesitant about trying to connect with MK, because they think they've hurt him to much and he understandably hates them now, Bai He is a walking trauma button reminding him of LBD, and Chao-Xing was unnecessarily cruel to him. They are waiting for him to be ready.

He's being gay in the wilderness with Red Son

When they reach out to him, Macaque can't believe his ears, he's unbelievably relieved that his babies don't hate him and they want him. He takes that chance immediately yes, he's terrified to hurt them, but this is a chance he can't pass up.

The twins, once everything else is stripped away, just want to be loved and cared for.

And now, onto the last member of this family

Man's in the worst depressive episode he's ever had.

Every choice he made to spare his family pain blew up in his face and hurt them more. He lied to Mihou and MK and hurt them so much, and then he finds out he nearly killed his daughter because he couldn't recognize her.

He's heartbroken when the twins ask for Mihou, but he also understands, Macaque was their baba, they knew Macaque much longer than they knew him, and their death is his fault, nobody can convince him otherwise, because it's sadly true.

His whole family hates him, and why shouldn't they? He is the reason this entire mess happened, his recklessness was fatal for anyone who wasn't him.

He's absolutely in a "I can be happy For them, even if I'm not happy With them" mindset, you got him so right!

It breaks his heart but if he can see his family coming together and healing from a distance, that's more than enough for him.

It's a miracle he's getting the chance to see this anyway, he will never get their forgiveness, he knows that, he's okay with settling for this.

Except he's not okay. He wants to have his family, he wants the life he and Mihou dreamed about all those years ago, but he knows he doesn't deserve it and he's selfish for wanting it, they're so much better off without him.

Pigsy, Sandy, Tang and DBK would absolutely be the ones to get on Wukong for neglecting himself like that.

Pigsy's coming in like a grandma when you say you're hungry and he's not letting Wukong leave the table until he finishes his plate. Sandy is there for the mental health stuff, Tang is helping distract him, and DBK is there to keep Wukong moving.

It does give Wukong happier memories of his brothers helping him back when he lost his mate the first time.

DBK is the one who tells Wukong that he hasn't lost his mate again, this is a very rough spot, but if he gives it time and patience, things can get better.

Wukong doesn't fully believe him, how can he fix this?

And all of this is assuming the world isn't ending again 🤣

As for who kills Xiangliu, it is definitely a tricky one, because despite all he's done to the twins, he's still their father, they did love him, even though he abused them and didn't care about them the same way.

So it's either the twins kill their father on accident, being further traumatized by that experience, and Wukong couldn't be the one to save his daughters, they had to do it, like so many other things, on their own

Or it's him killing his daughters' father in front of them, and that's traumatic in its own right, and makes him even more of a monster, cause Xiangliu is still their dad, and he just killed him.

Black myth! Suklha is secretive. She talks in a way that is sophisticated, intelligent yet fast. Time is of the essence, she believes. The things she does in black myth would have a greater impact on helping Destined One, she does things in a way where one might see as crazy, omnious, unintelligible yet once you do it yourself you'll understand what its for.

Also small fact- im in it for The fourth sister being in love with wukong and planned to ask his hand in marriage. So i made Suklha post poned Wukong's proposal because she sees the spiders family like her own little sisters 🙏 She cares about them too much to try and ruin their dreams.

He’d have a better understanding of what was going on in that messed up WukongxAzurexMacaque triangle anyway, PLUS he’s got the six-eared hearing powers so he can literally listen in on all the shit Nezha and MK are spouting to each other when they think they’re in private..

Mac sees that Nezha is pushing MK to be a worse, more destructive version of himself and also knows it’s probably going to end in trouble for all of them. He probably also sees that Prince Red is being too passive about letting MK go down this path and if he really cared about him, he wouldn’t just leave him when things got hard.. he pushes Red to not make the same mistakes that he did- Don’t abandon the person who has your heart, because the choices or mistakes they make will only push you further apart and by the time you realize it, it may be too late…

Anyway, maybe the encouragement from Macaque is the push Prince Red needs to get himself together and step in one last time to “save MK.” Haha

After making this post about afab & fem Sun Wukong, I started thinking about one of my fave Monkey Kings and projecting my transmasc-ness onto him.

Dasheng has gruff transmasc dad energy to him.

(*During their travels*) Liuer: "Great Sage I want to know-" Dasheng, annoyed by all the questions: "As you always do." Liuer, cautiously: "Why do you have um..? Your chest is like a lady's?" Dasheng, pauses his step: "What?" Liuer: "It's just-! I saw when you were washing your tunic after Silly Girl wee'ed on it. I didn't mean to stare! I just wanted to check and see if you had a scar from when Erlang Shen cut your chest." Dasheng, in deep thought as he rubs where a large scar hides behind his tunic: "It's a difficult thing to explain to a human child." Liuer: "I can listen!" Dasheng, sighs deeply: "Sometimes... the body and mind are of different alignments with each other. My body is Yin but my mind is Yang." Liuer: "Oh... so you have a boy's brain but a girl's body?" Dasheng: "Can't be a girl's body if the brain is a man's." Liuer: "Oh! So the mind is the most important part?" Dasheng: "Yes." Liuer: "Ok! Zhu Bajie is still furious at Wukong for kicking his ass 500 years ago, and is a little shocked to learn "I was defeated by a wom-OW!" (*gets hit with a bench*). Local pig quickly learns tolerance if he wants to stay in the party. Still shoots his shot - he's an equal opportunity swine.

Zhu Bajie: (*Johnny-Bravo-esque pose*) Dasheng, grossed-out: "...no." Zhu Bajie, deflates: "aw."

I would think one possible bad fight would be about MKs sacrifice, and him possibly doing it again.

Mk is reckless with his own life, and he loves friends and family more then he could love himself, it's where his over protectivness stems from. (That and his self sacrificial nature is probably programmed into him by nature, fucking thanks nuwa. The THE ONE mother figure mk has and she had to be the one that fucks up a perfectly good child)

Nezha may be immortal but mk would still actually jump in front of a blade for him without hesitation.

Tw mentions of past and attempted self sacrifice

This works very well, afterall Nezha would do the exact same thing because he shares a similar mentality. You don’t just sacrifice yourself for your family without having some issues.

This would come to a head at a terrible time, mid battle with a demon! Mk and Nezha both struggling early on in their relationship, pre-therapy, wanting to protect the other while also bringing down the big bad. Nezha might take a blow that was meant for Mk, and Mk freaks.

He and Nezha get into it. Nezha isn’t that hurt, mostly bruised, but Mk is absolutely losing his mind over the fact that his beloved just got hurt because of him.

Then you have Nezha who is trying to talk to his bf, but mk won’t listen, and they progressively get louder and louder. Until it reaches a point where Mk and Nezha are screaming at eachother in the middle of the battle field, and the fighting just… stops, because nobody has seen either of them get like this. The demon akwardly apologies to the others and leaves because damn this is awkward.

But the two idiots don’t notice, they just keep up the screaming match. Until Nezha has enough, and tells Mk in no uncertain terms that this shit isn’t going to work. He’s a celestial warrior, he can hold his own, and he doesn’t need to be coddled. Mk tries argues that he just wants to protect Nezha, but Nezha stands firm.

They don’t talk for a month.

Nezha is miserable during that time, and Jing teaches him the wonders of growing your sorrows in (strawberry) ice cream and crying into the pillows.

Mk in the other hand is left to think, and with some encouragement form ye others, decides to seek therapy with Sandy. It’s not easy, and the whole month without Nezha is agonizing, but Mk is determined to improve himself before he asks Nezha out again.

After a month, Nezha’s absence was strong enough to motivate Mk to reach out. Nezha was hesitant, but accepted a simple picnic date “to talk”.

It was by far, the most sweetest thing. Picknic basket full of all of Nezha’s favorites, a pretty strawberry themed blanket, and quiet spot outside the city where no one could see them.

They chatted for a bit, akwardly feeling things out, until Mk comes out and apologizes to Nezha for all the hovering. He akwardly explains that he just didn’t want Nezha to get hurt, and that he never saw the Prince as incompetent. That seeing Nezha hurt, even if a bit, was like lighting a fire. But he also apologies for overstepping boundaries, and acknowledges that he is working on the problem.

Nezha himself apologizes as well, aware that he had similar reactions in the past to Mk taking blows for him. He also apologizes for causing such a big blow out about it in public instead of privately, but Mk insisted it was fine, and that it was the wake up call he needed.

Nezha def cries when Mk asked if he’d still be his precious strawberry, and Mk nearly cried when Nezha agreed.

This isn’t the last time, but it’s def a big step in their relationship.

I have an idea how the Monkey King's would meet her: Like Wukong was walking through the forest at night and hears someone singing and follows the voice finding Y/N sitting on the sand of a beach singing(Not knowing that someone was listening to her).

The voice sounded soft but depressed something he was mildly familiar with but as he walk on the beach ⛱️ he saw a shadow Cradling a baby monkey like she was it's Mother. As he walked closer he saw the shadow was a fem monkey with green eyes she had to be the most beautiful shadowy Creature. He wants to know more

Now just a Any monkey but a female one with Fur black as night and shadowy with Green eyes and made him think he was looking at a phantom. He listens to the song as it sounded Is dominating and threatening but playful. What are you? And why is he so interested in you.

Something is telling him that you're dangerous and for some reason he doesn't Seemed to care.

(HIB Wukong) he was strolling in the wood minding his own business when he heard a voice. It was singing in a Language she is now all that familiar with but that doesn't deter his curiosity. As he walks to the beach see an tall shadow monkey girl with green eyes singing softly and swaying. Please stop to observe you who are you? Where did you come from and why? Why Does he like listening to your voice.

But for once he was prepared cause he came early to the spot where he usually hears it. And from there that's where he sees the source of the voice. A tall female monkey with shadowy fur and fiery green eyes. She was singing the same song. He's been hearing for a while. And now that he knows is from you. He just has to figure out what the song means and how to talk to you.
