What's in a name? A (very) simple guide to find your Rook's name.
I’ve seen some people are wondering how some of us already have named Rooks, others have no idea how to get names or which names could be good, and since i kinda overdid it and have 11 Rooks already planned and named i thought i’d share some of my process and drop some ideas. This works for me, but maybe it can help others find their Rook’s name(s).
Keep in mind these are also fantasy names, they don’t have to make sense or have a specific meaning, you can literally make them up. I also take into consideration known naming conventions, for example in Elven we have Solas and Abelas’ names, with specific meanings (Pride, Sorrow) and judging by what Solas tells Abelas, it’d seem ancient elvhen would change their names according to roles or events in their life. Similarly in the Qun, we know their names aren’t names as we understand them but simply descriptors of the role that is assigned to them within the Qun.
It’s probably easier when it comes to human nations in Thedas: Orlesians are likely to have French names, Fereldans to have anglo names, Antivans to have Spanish and Italian names. Tevinter is a bit trickier because it’s based on the Roman empire and Latin is a pretty dead language, but they sure liked to make records so we have names there too.
Elvhen names:
I literally opened a tab with the Elven language DA wiki page and read everything -for the bazillionth time tbh-; DA elven language is a cipher, not a conlang, so feel free to make things up because we don’t have the full cipher -i’m not even sure BW does- .
For Elven names i check the wiki for words that i like the sound of, the meaning of, ideally both. If i feel something is “missing” i may add a letter or combine different words into a new one.
Here are some examples:
Athima, from athim, humility
Atisha, from Atish'an, atisha is peace
Sethena, from Sethen'a or Setheneran, land of waking dreams or where the veil is thin, aka the Fade.
Revaren, from Revas, freedom, and Renan, voice.
Alasan, from alas, earth/dirt, and suffix an, place.
Sulahni, from sulahn, sing.
Samahli, from samahl, laughter.
Vardanehn, lit. Our little joy.
Mir'as, Banal'ras is shadows, implying ras refers to light, Mir is mine. Lit. "my light".
Qunlat names:
Same process as elven, but trying to modify as less as possible, keeping in mind the Qunari are very rigid in their ways and can be very literal as well.
Anaan, victory
Asaarash, rivaini horsebreed used by the antaam.
Kaaras, navigator.
Asaara-kaaras, wind navigator, wind rider.
Saar, dangerous. Saar-asaara, dangerous wind. Saar-meraad, dangerous tide.
Sata-kasi, mauler.
Vattic-kos, vat is fire, tic is cold and kos refers to nature damage, all three words are in reference to damage done with a mage staff. So Vattic-kos could be elemental damage.
Shokra, shok is struggle or war, shokrakar is rebel.
Antivan names:
These were way easier as i’m Latina of Spanish and Italian descent which in this case feels a bit like cheating. I think any Spanish and Italian name could work, these are just some i like.
Vittoria/Victoria
Chiara
Alessandro/a
Stefan
Dante
Aria
Tevinter names:
I literally googled for Latin names for this one, and also checked previous Tevinter characters’ names. Some of this could also work for an Antivan Rook.
Aelius
Amadis
Bastian
Caelus
Camilla
Dena
Dante
Desideria
Ella
Enora
Favian
Fausto, Faustino, Faustus
Gaius
Gloria
Grazia
Klaudia
Laurena
Lavinia
Liberia
Merit/Mérita/Mérito
Remus
Salena
Sarina
Sidonia
Sollemnia
Tatius
Terentius
Tiberius
Urbano, Urbanus
Valentio
Varinia
Viatrix
Virgilio, Virgil
Vitus
Xandros
I’m leaving out the numerals like Primo, Segundo, Quintus, Octavio... check Cesars' names, that could work too. I think you could just search the scientific name of any fauna (hello House Pavus) or flora and pick whatever sounds nice too. Also we recently got a new Magister’s name in the Dragon Age: Vows & Vengeance trailer, Magister Andante. Y’know what “Andante” means? Walking. Magister Walking. Fear nothing and go wild with these names, seriously.
You could also check other cultures and native names, respectfully of course. Here are some guaraní and mapuche names i like, i didn’t modify these at all.
Kerana, guaraní “goddess of sleep”, or sleepy one.
Karai, guaraní, “respectable man”.
Luriel, guaraní, “lord of the wind”.
Amaru, guaraní, “rain”.
Anahí, guaraní, from a legend, the name of a young woman burned at the stake by the conquistadors, after which she is transformed into the flowering tree.
Newén, mapuche, "strength"
Nahuel, mapuche, “jaguar”
Ayelén, mapuche, “laughing”.
Tahiel, mapuche, “hombre libre”
For Dwarven names, i am deeply sorry i haven't decided on a Dwarf Rook yet so i haven't done my dwarven research, but the same process applies: check the canon dwarf names we got so far, if the lore says anything about dwarven naming conventions, if they're a commoner or noble, if there are caste-specific names too, and so on. And if you want to name your dwarf Rook Bob, that's fine too! ( if DUNE can have Paul and Jessica, why couldn't we have a dwarf named Bob?? like i said, go wild, name freely, be happy)
I understand some people don't want to or aren't sure about naming their Rooks until we learn what the different canon surnames will be, and i totally get that, i felt the same way. But i couldn't resist until we got that info so i overdid it, particularly with my Tevinter-Nevarran mage whose name i picked clearly inspired by Cassandra's full name, only for me to end up calling her by the first of her five names that i kinda struggle to remember. So far we've only seen one canon surname, "Thorne", and since surnames are defined by factions, Thorne seems to be the Grey Wardens' canon surname. The elf Grey Warden champion seen in the recent high-level combat gameplay is named Esha Thorne.
I think maybe surnames should depend on what they're now calling lineage (elven, qunari, human, dwarf) rather than on factions, or they could have offered options, one per lineage and one per faction, and let us decide which one to keep. An elf named Thorne sounds a bit odd to me, even if they're a Grey Warden. Will any of my chosen names match the canon surnames? Probably not, but at least i had fun while naming them. My only GW for now is Favian and Favian Thorne doesn't sound bad.
Anyway, I hope this helps those who are a bit lost to find names that works for you and your Rooks, have fun!

Sherlock fandom
You Weren’t There
He never thought he would get here, doing what Ella wants him to do. Even Sherlock has nudged him in this direction. Gently, without any snark.
“You’ll feel better, John. And no one has to see it. It’s a matter between you and the past,” Sherlock said softly and kissed his forehead.
So, here he is. Alone in 221B, pen in hand hovering over a sheet of paper. Ready to face and confront his parents, his only weapon a rollerball with black ink.
Mum and Dad
Once, I was your pride and joy. When and why did that change? Was it because of my lack of physical strength as a boy? My empathy for Harry when she came out as a lesbian? Or maybe it had to do with my trust issues. The issues you two are responsible for. Yes, you read that right. You. Both of you.
I see now that you may have suffered from the same thing, because you never engaged with the other parents. They always thought you were happily married. You were always good at keeping up appearances.
Neither of you liked that I enjoyed music and wanted to learn to play the clarinet. You only allowed it because of my teacher who insisted that I’d join the music group, but you never cared. Not once did you attend a concert. You weren’t there. Never. Not for me. Not for Harry.
You’re both egocentric people who never should’ve had children. My miserable childhood notwithstanding, I’m glad of one thing; my life. Because I’ve finally found someone to love and who loves me in return. I know you won’t approve because it’s a man. The most brilliant, kind, loving, amazing, and extraordinary man who’s ever lived.
Because of your phobia against queerness, and my childish reluctance to disappoint you, I’ve been hiding my true self for decades. I even hurt this man, my Sherlock, for years since I was too afraid to come clean as a bisexual. And that fact haunts me the most. That I’m still having issues with this. I can’t blame you for all of it. I’m a grown man, but bad habits die hard.
This letter is supposed to be closure, a goodbye if you like. I have yet to decide if I want to send it to you. It’s about getting it all out, more for my sake than yours.
We married last month by the way. Harry was there. You weren’t invited. I know you never would’ve come anyway. Besides, I didn’t want you there.
I’ve always detested weddings were everybody you know and are related to must be invited. Only people we love and care for were present.
You always had high hopes that I would marry when I became a doctor. It would be the perfect façade. Something you could brag about to your colleagues or whomever cared to listen to you.
If you ever get this letter, or if you already know, I bet everything I own that you’ve never mentioned it to anyone. To you, Harry and I are damaged goods. And when I write these words, I realise that I don’t care what you call me anymore, because I’m happy. For the first time in my adult life. Thanks to my husband, Sherlock Holmes.
John
He's mentally exhausted when he’s finished writing, and heads for the bathroom to wash off what feels like grime. The shower is like a cleansing and his entire body is relaxed. A considerable burden has been lifted off his shoulders and all that’s missing for this moment to be perfect is Sherlock.
When he opens the door to the bathroom, Sherlock waits for him with open arms. John’s heart skips a beat and his face lights up with the sight of his husband.
“I’m so proud of you, John,” Sherlock murmurs into John’s hair.
So, he’s read the letter. John left it on the desk for Sherlock to see, and he feels relief wash over him.
“It was easier than anticipated. Something I should’ve done ages ago.”
John cradles Sherlock cheek and locks eyes with him.
“Thank you for caring, for never faltering in your faith in me, for being there, for loving me” John says warmly.
“Always,” Sherlock retorts and kisses John’s palm tenderly before he seeks out John’s lips.

✨✨Writeblr Intro✨✨
Hi! I’m new to writeblr and I hope to become more involved with the writing community on here!
I’m a university student majoring in Archaeology which of course means I’m obsessed with everything old and ancient, which can be seen in a lot of my stories (*cough* time travel *cough*). I’ve been in love with making up stories and characters since I was little but I never really thought of myself as a writer. Honestly, I didn’t even think about writing my ideas down until this past winter when I started using Wattpad again. I found some amazing stories (shoutout to @screamingatanemptyroom) that inspired me to start writing and now I can’t seem to stop.
Anyways, here are a couple of my stories in the works✨
Tumblr media
Introverted University student Evelyn Chandler has been enlisted by her history Professor to travel back in time to 1890s New York to gather firsthand information from the past. When Evelyn is betrayed by one of her team mates, she suffers brain damage and is left to navigate the past without any idea of where (or when) she is from. With the help of an awkward detective, she fights her way through oppression, a corrupt government organization, and a dangerous serial killer who seems hellbent to have Evelyn by their side.
—————————————
“This could go one of several ways:
1. We could get there successfully, complete the mission and come home.
2. The machine could blow up killing us all in the process.
Or 3. We could end up somewhere completely different wearing our asses as hats.
What the hell have I gotten myself into?”
——————————————
Genre: Historical fiction, Mystery, Romance.
Progress: 24 chapters (not published)
*My first story ever and it’s my pride and joy
Tumblr media
Emilia Rosewell is a normal, high school hating teenager who wants nothing more than to graduate without too much drama. Unfortunately, an attractive new guy mysteriously sweeps into town and ruins her plans.
While vampire romances have never been an interest to her, Emilia finds herself in the middle of a magical world of bloodsucking hotties. Unbeknownst to them, she's not going down without a fight. She'll have a normal life, even if it means defanging a couple thousand immortals along side a brooding vampire hunter to get it.
————————————
"This is what I am, Emilia. I'm a monster." He whispered.
I thought for a moment, stunned but also realizing the true weight of the situation.
"Damn straight you are."
"Wha—" he began but I cut him off, justifiably enraged by this new information.
"You've been asking me out, telling me you're in love with me, and this whole time you were an old perv in a younger body!?" I shouted, pointing an accusatory finger. "It's extremely apparent that you're a monster, just not in the way you thought."
———————————-
Genre: Paranormal fiction
Progress: Mostly major scenes, no full chapters
Tumblr media
When Ella Reed is transported back in time to the Medieval era, she is taken prisoner by the royal guard. This past, she soon finds out, is far from what she learned in history class. Unless she missed the unit about dragons, magic, and dangerous sorcerers who tempt your morals.
Will Ella ever get back home or will she be stuck in this strange new world forever?
————————————
There was noise coming from in front of me, like something big was running through the trees. The unmistakable sound of an animal came closer.
Is that a freaking horse!? What kind of a budget do these guys have?
I darted to to the side of the foot path hoping the trees would give me enough cover. I dove behind a large bush and hid there for a moment waiting for the large animal to pass. No matter how good I was at track and field I cannot outrun a damn horse.
Two seconds later, a horse carrying a rather large man with a sword drawn zoomed passed. A sword. What the hell does he need an actual sword for? Cutting large vegetables? I wonder if he has a license for that.
—————————————
Genre:Fantasy
Progress: The first two chapters are out on Wattpad now and I’m working on updating soon (can be found here)
Tumblr media
Danger lurks within the confines of normal society; corrupt law enforcement, secret organizations with hidden agendas, and human experiments with horrific outcomes.
Snarky and chaotic Nora soon finds herself enthralled in this hidden world and gives her captors a run for their money. Right when she thought all hope was lost he shows up, an infuriatingly attractive new scientist who seems hellbent on her release but she can't seem to pinpoint his motive.
Maybe she could use him to her advantage or she might just get more than she bargained for.
—————————————-
I occupied myself by making noises with my mouth, the only entertaining thing I could think of that doubled as an annoyance to the good doctor over there.
After a particularly loud noise one of the guards snapped his head towards me. "Oh my God, do you ever shut up!"
I took a sharp intake of breath and pretended to ponder on it a moment. "Nope," I said popping the 'p' and continued making the noises.
Maybe I was acting like an annoying brat but I'm not about to be a star patient in this hell hole.
If I have to deal with their bullshit then I'll make damn sure they have to deal with mine.
—————————————
Genre: Fiction, humour
Progress: 4 chapters posted on Wattpad so far (can be found here)
Tumblr media
Elara has everything; wealthy parents, a gorgeous fiancé, and her dream job all lined up for her perfect future. But of course not all is as it seemed. Her parents treated her like a stranger, her fiancé was an arrogant prick, and her dream job only cemented her further into this miserable life.
When her fiancé publicly breaks off their engagement for another women, Elara’s life comes crumbling down around her, so she goes to the one place she felt safe; the forest clearing where she and her friend used to play as a child.
But since when was there a glowing lake here and why the hell does the guy guarding it look so familiar?
————————————
"You can't go in there," he said, though he didn’t make any move to stop me.
"Really? Cause last time I checked this is a free country."
"There will be consequences that—“
"Oh spare me the lecture! everything has consequences, the only question is whether you have anything to lose." I stared at the glowing water, an instinctive, ancient desire welling up inside me. "And as it just so happens, I no longer do."
———————————-
Genre: Fantasy/supernatural fiction
Progress: obsessed with the storyline but no complete chapters
✨So far these are all the formulated plots but I have a lot more that I’m still forming, so there will probably be updates!✨
Thanks for reading!

The Boyfriend | Part II [Taza Romero x Fem!Reader]
Y'all! I did it! I wrote a second part! I actually sort of struggled with the setup of this, but once I started writing the angry, angsty shit I was like, "OH, WE IN BUSINESS." So, please enjoy.
Warnings: language; family drama (arguing); attempted physical violence; pregnancy | Words: 1,734
Part I of The Boyfriend
Tumblr media
“What do you mean he wants to come see your motorcycle?” you asked, panic rising in your voice. It had been a few months since the ill-fated family dinner, and aside from a few texts asking about work, you hadn’t heard from your father. So, you assumed his motorcycle chat with Taza had just been polite conversation.
Taza glanced at you across the kitchen table, his full fork of frijoles pausing halfway to his mouth. His eyes softened when he saw the concern in your expression.
“Relájate, mi amor (Relax, my love). He doesn’t have to come here. I can meet him somewhere else,” he said calmly. He watched as your head dropped into one of your palms on the table and the other rested on the top of your very noticeable baby bump. He paused, then put his fork back down on his plate.
“(Y/N), maybe this would be a good opportunity to tell them,” he started, keeping his tone gentle. “I know you don’t want them involved. I understand that, and I will do whatever I can to keep things the way you want them.” He reached across the table to rest his palm against your knuckles. “But the baby will be here in a few months, and hiding it from them is just drawing out the inevitable.”
Emotions rushed over you. You knew that telling them didn’t have to mean anything more than that; Taza would protect his family no matter the cost, and if you didn’t want them involved, they wouldn’t be. But the prospect of having to deal with your mother filled you with a deep-seated dread. You knew she wouldn’t approve. And you didn’t need her approval, but your relationship with her had always been messy and complicated. And some part of you still wanted her to accept and respect you. Angry tears sprang to your eyes, which made you even more frustrated – the pregnancy hormones made you feel like you were losing your mind.
A tear dripped onto the wooden surface of the table and Taza was immediately out of his seat, tugging you out of yours and wrapping you in his arms. He smiled at the feeling of your belly pressed between the two of you.
“Hey, abejita, está bien (little bee, it’s ok). We don’t have to do anything that will make you uncomfortable,” he murmured against your ear, rocking you side to side slowly. He rubbed circles on your back as you regained your composure.
“No, you’re right,” you said with a sniffle. “We need to get this over with.”
Taza’s lips pulled into a wry grin. “That’s a wise choice, I think.”
***
“Ok, I think everything’s pretty much ready,” you told Taza as you flipped the final tortilla on the comal. He came to stand beside you and pressed a soft kiss to your temple.
“How can I help?” he asked as you pulled the tortilla off with your bare fingers and tossed it into the basket, waving your fingers as the heat sank into your skin. He laughed and gripped your hand, blowing gently on your scorched fingertips.
You couldn’t help the affectionate tears that collected in the corners of your eyes. In an effort to keep you as comfortable as possible, Taza suggested hosting dinner with your parents on the ranch. You would be on your own turf and could call the shots. If anything got ugly, Taza promised that he had no qualms with making your parents leave. To your modest relief, you also felt a little more like yourself today, like you’d happily tell someone where to shove it if they upset you.
“Just being here with me helps,” you mumbled, tucking yourself into his arms.
“Nowhere else I’d rather be,” he said quietly. The two of you lingered like that for a moment, enjoying the calm embrace before the storm you knew was about to happen.
And sure enough, a moment later, the doorbell sounded. Your eyes jerked immediately to Taza’s. You struggled to discern if the rolling in your stomach was pregnancy-related or anxiety-induced as perspiration collected on your palms.
He ushered you onto the back patio, helping you to sit in the worn wooden rocking chair before heading back inside to welcome your guests. You listened nervously for the creaking of the front door, which was quickly followed by the drifting voices of your mother and father.
You pulled yourself out of the chair, straightening the soft cotton of your dress over your bump, just as Taza stepped through the door. He came immediately to your side, schooling his features into a calm and neutral mask, tossing an arm around your shoulders. Your father was the next through the door and you bit back a grin at the series of emotions that passed over his face in the span of just a few seconds. Confusion, certainly, and shock, but then pride and excitement and finally, unbridled joy.
Time seemed to slow down as your mother stepped towards your father, her confused gaze traveling from your father’s face to you, eyes widening as they landed on your belly. For the first time in your life, your mother was speechless. She stood on the threshold of the patio door with her mouth open as your father rushed towards you.
“Oh, my baby girl!” he exclaimed, pulling you into a loose hug around your bump, kissing your cheeks delightedly. He turned immediately to Taza, pulling your boyfriend into a strong embrace, clapping him heartily on the back.
“Congratulations, you two! This is wonderful news! Oh, goodness, I’m going to be a grandfather!” he announced in wonderment as he pulled back, turning to his wife, whose eyes were still glued to your stomach.
“Dear?” he asked her, cautiously, but with a hint of something firm in his voice. It was something you had never heard from your father before. You wondered fleetingly what that was about.
His voice seemed to snap her out of her trance. Her eyes met yours and she smiled tightly. “Congratulations,” she forced out and you noted acrimoniously the clenching of her jaw.
Your eyes narrowed. Your heart sank with her false smile and immediately, resentment scrambled into place to protect you. You suddenly felt an overwhelming desire to haul off and smack her, but you quickly chalked that up to hormones. Probably.
Intent on making this a pleasant evening for your completely delighted father, you turned away from your mother with a withering look and plastered on a smile, motioning for everyone to take a seat at the table laden with food you had spent most of the day preparing.
Dinner was an awkward affair. Taza sat beside you, his hand never leaving its reassuring place on your thigh, as the two of you answered your father’s abundance of questions.
Baby Romero is due in November.
We’ve decided to wait to find out the sex.
We don’t really have a preference as long as they’re healthy.
Your mother’s eyes bore holes into you, but she remained silent, except for one question, manifested tersely into the space between the four of you. “Are you going to get married?”
“We haven’t really talked about it,” you replied, surprising even yourself with the strength in your voice. Your mother blinked at you, her expression disappointed, but she said nothing, returning her gaze to her plate.
When everyone had finished eating, your father clapped his hands together and asked Taza if they could take a peek at his Harley.
Taza turned to you, searching your eyes. “¿Estarás bien a solas con ella (Will you be ok alone with her)?”
You nodded at him with a wily smile. “Yo sé dónde están todos los cuchillos en esta casa (I know where all the knives are in this house).”
A loud, deep laugh belted from Taza’s chest as you stood and began collecting plates. You could see him shaking his head out of the corner of his eyes, motioning your father towards the garage.
You were standing in front of the sink, rinsing dishes when you heard the clicking of heels behind you, your mother coming to stop across the counter. You waited with bated breath for the inevitable confrontation, your stomach in knots.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” she asked finally, a bitter edge of hurt creeping into her voice.
You looked down into the sink, realizing you were white-knuckling a spoon. “Why would I?” you demanded. “The last time I saw you, you made it very clear that you don’t approve of Che.”
“I just want what’s best for you!” she insisted, her hands clenching by her sides.
“You don’t know what’s best for me! I’m not you!” You slapped the faucet off and grabbed a kitchen towel to violently dry your hands, coming to face your mother completely. You watched as her eyes flickered quickly to your belly and then back to your face, the sight seemingly fueling her fire.
“I do know that you have no business having children out of wedlock with a man who’s twice your age,” she snapped, stepping closer to you, and your body reacted to the perceived threat, your heart thundering against your ribcage, heat radiating from your face.
“You don’t get to make those decisions for me! Che is the best partner I’ve ever had and he’s going to be an incredible father. Which you would know if you even gave him a chance, but you won’t. You refuse to accept that this is my life, and I’ll live it however the fuck I want!” You could hear your volume rising, but you were beyond controlling it. By the end of your rant, you were screaming, inches from your mother’s furious face, her eyes glinting and her lips set into a scowl. Suddenly, Taza was running into the house and coming to a stop behind you, pulling you gently away from your mother while your father tugged your mother away from you.
“I can’t believe I raised such an ungrateful bitch,” your mother spat, and you swung. Luckily for your mother, Taza had pulled you out of reach, and your fist missed her by several inches.
“Get out of my house!” you hissed, struggling against Taza’s arms, angry tears staining your cheeks.
Your father, looking appropriately mortified, dragged your mother out of the front door and into their car.

Feelings of Love and Pain Part Five (Finale)
Pairing: Bucky x reader x OC
Warnings: fluff, talks of reader’s injury (very slight)
Summary: you finally get both of your soulmates
Tumblr media
“Y/N!?!?” Ben saw you in the jet and ran straight for you, tackling you into a hug. “Ben,” you sobbed, so happy, that tears were streaming down your face. Bucky walked over and you both pulled him into the hug. “Alright, ow, still hurt over here,” you commented when Ben hugged you tighter. Both Ben and Bucky’s faces contorted to one of concern, “doll, are you alright, what’d Doc say?” “She said I’ll be alright in a day or two, just gotta keep it bandaged.” Both soulmates were relieved, “glad you’re alright love,” Ben commented, and you agreed. “Doll, gotta show ya something.” Bucky was smirking, nothing good came out of it when Bucky smirked. “Yes babe?” Bucky punched Ben as hard as he could, at first you were angry and confused, then, after a second, you realized Ben wasn’t hurt and what it meant. “Oh, congratulations my sweethearts,” you got up and pulled them both in for a hug.
You guys all realized you should probably have a chat about your relationship and such, knowing the team would also ask a whole lot of questions, and you needed to inform Ben of what happened in the missing years. Bucky moved to close the door to the room you three were in and then got comfortable sitting with you and Ben. Ben was in the middle, you on the right, Bucky on the left.
After talking for a few hours and then napping, you and your soulmates were ready to face the team and their swarm of questions. “I love you both,” you gave them each a kiss. “We love you too.” You grabbed their hands and stepped out. You gave the team, who was waiting right outside, a pleasing look to keep the questions to a minimum. “So, what’s the story here,” Tony asked, motioning to you and Ben. You explained to the team about your old team and Hydra, everything. Your two boyfriends held your hands when the tough parts came, but you stayed strong. “Nice to meet you, I’m Steve.” Steve was the first to greet Ben, which being Bucky’s best friend, it made sense. You knew the two of them would get along well, they were similar in some ways. After a few more questions, the team went inside and left you and your two guys alone.
“Should I be excited to see how you’ve changed the place,” Ben chuckled. “I didn’t change much I must admit,” you sheepishly responded. Ben took one step in and immediately pointed out the biggest change, “that couch is still there, and, oh god no! Who did you let touch my lab!” You shook your head and chased after Ben who was running to the lab. “Our lab,” you corrected. Bucky ran with you laughing his head off.
Ben ran straight to his secret door and put in the code, “no one touched her did they?” You chuckled again, “not even me sweets.” The hidden door opened and he let out a sigh of relief while Bucky stood, shocked. “Holy cow, is that?” Ben moved over behind Bucky and wrapped his arms around him, Ben’s head resting on Bucky’s shoulder. “A flying car? Yep! My pride and joy and now my third favorite thing, you and Y/N tie for first of course.” Bucky’s face lit up, “oh my god, I’ve got to tell Steve! And then we have to go for a ride in it! Can we? Pleaaasssseeeee.” You have to admit, seeing Bucky try his puppy dog eyes on your other, very stubborn, boyfriend was adorable. You could tell Ben was going to give in too, just by the look on his face. “Oh, alright, I guess, but I’m behind the wheel, no one else. Go grab your friend.” Bucky ran to find Steve while you stayed behind with Ben.
“He’s a huge nerd like us, don’t worry.” Ben chuckled at your comment. “Oh, I can tell, I can’t think of someone other than us who would get that excited over Ella (the car). I also can’t wait to get a look at that armmmmmm.” You laughed at your boyfriend’s excitement. “Trust me, it is interesting.” Before you could continue, Bucky rushed in, Steve in toe. “Woah, Buck, you weren’t kidding, it IS a flying car!” Ben led you all into the car. You were in the passenger seat, and the two super soldiers were in the back. It was safe to say they loved it.
You guys immediately fell asleep after dinner, both guys agreeing that they wanted to have a bed with all three of you, with you in the middle so they could ‘keep you safe, and give lots of cuddles.’ You couldn’t have been happier.

HBO Max New Releases: April 2021
https://ift.tt/3kO4gS2
Fresh off the long-awaited arrival of Zack Snyder’s Justice League (a.k.a. the fabled Snyder Cut), HBO Max has no need to appease fandom culture in April 2021. But the streaming service is gonna do it anyway!
The most notable new release for HBO Max this month is the HBO series The Nevers. This show, created by Joss Whedon, is set in a 19th century steampunk London and finds a sizable portion of the population (predominantly women) having been “Touched” by mysterious paranormal powers. There’s an interesting bit of irony at play here, as HBO Max is following up the Snyder Cut with a show created by his original Justice League replacement. Or at least there could have been an interesting bit of irony here, if Whedon had not bowed out from the show and been enthusiastically left out of the marketing material by HBO.

Aside from the awkward showrunning situation at The Nevers, HBO Max has quite a few other irons in the fire for April. The well-earned Infinity Train season 4 premieres on April 15. That will be followed up by the Kate Winslet-starring HBO miniseries Mare of Easttown on April 18. Not to be ignored is the movie side of things, with Mortal Kombat continuing WarnerMedia’s policy of releasing all 2021 films to HBO Max.
Meanwhile, The New Mutants will take a turn in the HBO Max library on April 10…for some reason. And the streaming services continue their game of Dark Knight Rises hot potato when the film premieres on HBO Max on April 17. Now all three Christopher Nolan’s Batman films can be streamed in their entirety. It will just take both Netflix and HBO Max subscriptions.

Between 29th and Astoria: Cinder-Fucking-Ella
Chapter 6
Tumblr media
The day sped by in a whirlwind of nervous energy. Lunch with Mr. Ren left butterflies in your stomach, creating excitement and energy as you buzzed around the office. Your mind kept drifting to the feeling of his warm hand against your lower back, and the way his eyes crinkled when you said something funny. Despite your interest in the man, a small voice would quietly remind you that you were just an assistant. Maybe Mr. Ren was only extending an olive branch, and you shouldn’t read too much into it. After all, logic would dictate that work would be a lot more productive if his assistant actually enjoyed her job.
Even if you weren’t working underneath the accomplished mogul, it wasn’t like someone like him would ever be interested in someone like you. Expectations ought to be managed. Sure, it was perfectly acceptable to harbor a small crush on your boss. But you couldn’t let it get away from you.
Yet, another more irrational side of you wished so badly that Mr. Ren would do something completely insane like ask you out.
As if.
By the time you got home, you had resigned yourself to simply admiring Kylo from afar. You really had no business going around falling in love with a billionaire. Toeing off your heels at the door, you were welcomed home with shrieks of laughter. The sounds of house filled to the brim in joy and friendship bounced against the white walls.
Rose was in the center of the living room sashaying around as she held a tulle skirt up to her chest. Finn and Poe were hooting as she pretending to wave and bow towards her adoring fans.
“What’s going on here guys?” You laughed while Poe rolled his wrists in circles as he hinged at the waist. Rose gave him a curtsey and then bounded your way. Clutching your hands in her own she shrieked, “We’re going to a ball! Like Cinder-fucking-ella!” Finn guffawed and shook his head. You collapsed onto the couch between the darker man and Poe, watching Rose as she continued to turn in circles around the room.
Poe laughed, “Close. Finn and I need dates for this yearly charity gala work makes us attend. We figured it would be more fun with our favorite gals. It’s held at the Lincoln Center, and its going to be amazing!” Finn cheered and leapt up to catch Rose in his arms. The pair began to waltz around the room as Rose sang the chorus to Beauty and Beast.
Stifling a laugh at Finn’s look of offense, you turned towards Poe. “Really? A gala? I don’t even know how to begin unpacking this.”
He reached over to the coffee table and uncorked a bottle of red wine. Shoving a full glass into your hands, he replied, “Drink this while I talk. Alright, the gala is on a Saturday so it doesn’t conflict with your work schedule. Next, Rose’s sister works at that stupidly fancy boutique on Fifth Ave., and she can get you guys some clothes at a steep discount. Lastly, you deserve this sweet pea. You need to take a break once in a while. Plus, there will be important people in the room to network with. I know you miss photography. This is New York City, babe. You never know what will happen!”
The man wiggled his eyebrows and continued, “At the very least there will be tons of free fancy pants food and champagne.”
“You really know the way to a girl’s heart, Poe.” Downing the rest of the wine, you gave him a sigh and a nod. Rose and Finn burst into claps before Rose climbed back onto the couch. Tossing her arms around you, she cheered, “I already texted Paige! We’re going to have a shopping party!”
Throwing your face into her arm you moaned, “Why is everything a party with you Ticos?”
Rose giggled and squeezed you tighter. “Because life is worth celebrating!”
Wednesday rolled around, and you found yourself impatiently tapping the leg of your desk with the side of your heel. Pinching the bridge of your nose, you reminded yourself that your friends were just being kind, and that you should be gracious at their generosity.
Side-eyeing your phone, you pulled up the conversation with Rose.
Rose Tico | 4:19 PM | Okay! I confirmed the private shopping appointment for today with Paige. Let me text you the address!
Rose Tico | 4:19 PM | 754 5th Ave. It’s between 5th Ave. and W. 57th St.
The address was pulled up on Google Maps and sat mocking you from the computer screen. Bergdorf Goodman. You needed to have a talk with Poe and Rose regarding using the words “fancy” and “boutique” lightly.
There was no way you could afford anything in that fucking department store. And knowing Poe and Rose, they probably worked out some scheme to get you decked out in the most expensive shit while paying the least.
Your heart was touched that Rose and Poe wanted to spoil you. But your pride was finding it hard to accept such an ostentatious gift. You continued to debate with yourself when a familiar baritone snapped you right back to reality.
“Bergdorf’s, huh? Finally getting that Chanel?”
Somehow you managed to clumsily close the tab while simultaneously swiveling around in your chair. Mr. Ren was leaning against the wall behind your chair. Hands in his pockets, his chest rumbled in laughter as he watched you panic.
“No! I mean, yes. But no, I’m not buying a Chanel. My - uhm - friend is taking me shopping though. I need...I mean it’s not really...”
You could see the headlines now - “Personal Assistant Launches Herself Out of Forty-Fifth Floor Window”. Kylo tilted his head and narrowed his eyes. Leveling his voice, he flatly ventured, “Your friend is taking you shopping. How generous of...him.”
You heard it. It was barely there, but you heard it. Mr. Ren was trying to suss out if a male was taking you on a shopping spree. As much as you wanted to tease the man, the prospect of keeping your job was a lot more enjoyable. Your voiced lamely squeaked, “Her. My roommate’s sister has an employee discount, and I need new clothes.”
His lip twitched upwards, as if the man was trying to suppress a smile. Looking downwards, he lightly tugged at the lapel of his jacket. Flattening the fabric against his chest, he nodded as he straightened the top.
“I see. Well, enjoy the shopping trip then. Feel free to leave at 5 today. There isn’t much work left.”
With that, the man turned on his heel and slinked back into his office. At the sound of the heavy oak doors closing, you let out a breath you didn’t even know you were holding.
This was unnecessary. This was so, so, so, unnecessary. You were perched atop a velvet Bergère that was more appropriate in the bedroom of an 18th century princess. Despite your general discomfort at being primped and fussed over, Paige had a disarming attitude about her that left you feeling less apprehensive about the whole ordeal.
Or maybe it was the fact that Rose had smartly plied you with three glasses of champagne before the styling session had begun.
Paige had just wrapped up going over measurements and jotting down ideas when an older gentleman stepped into the parlor. He discretely slipped a folded piece of paper to the woman before excusing himself.
Paige’s eyes twinkled and a mischievous smile spread across her delicate features. Tossing the piece of parchment aside, she sang, “Alright, I’m going to pull some garments. You ladies relax and enjoy some light bites while I’m gone.”
She blew a kiss, and skipped out the door. Judging by the boundless energy the sisters shared, you wondered if enthusiasm was genetic. Rose settled herself on the armrest and laid her head atop yours. She played with the hem of your sleeve as the two of you relaxed into friendly conversation.
“Hey, Rose?”
She hummed.
“Thanks. Seriously...for setting this up with Paige. It was really sweet of you guys, and I’m having fun. Really!”
Rose gave your shoulders a gentle squeeze. “Of course! You’re my best friend, and you deserve nothing but the best.”
Paige burst into the room with flourish as she dragged two racks along. Rose squealed at the sight of silk and feathers and immediately began to comb through the garments.
“Down, girl!” Paige teased as Rose gushed over the lush fabrics. You noticed that one of the racks was suspiciously fuller than the other. Paige caught you gaze and smiled. “Rose told me that you haven’t shopped for yourself in ages. I thought we could try on a few extra things just for fun.”
You cringed at your Banana Republic trousers. Did they do the job? Sure. Did you look good? That was up for debate.
Paige put on some upbeat electronic music, and the three of you began to go through outfits. You had a suspicion that Rose was only a decoy to get you comfortable with trying on expensive garments. The petite woman was certainly a lot more invested in what was going on your body, as opposed to her own.
“Oh my God. You need to try this on.” Rose screeched. She was holding up a black wool sweater dress with cut outs by the arm and a soft turtle neck.
You pulled the dress from her hands and took a look at it before screaming, “Rose! What am I going to do with a six hundred dollar sweater from Helmut Lang?!”
Oh no. The woman threw you her all and her best. Brown eyes cast wide open in innocence, she silently nudged you towards the dressing room. Relenting with a groan, you stomped away, but not before shouting over your shoulder, “I thought we were shopping for one dress. One!”
Your protests fell upon deaf ears. Once you emerged from the room, Rose and Paige immediately ganged up on you. They continued to ignore your objections (“No, Paige! Nobody in their right mind needs a $4,000 Akris wool coat!”), and piled outfit after outfit upon you.
One hour later, and you flopped onto your back to stare at the ceiling. Designer department store be damned, you’d make yourself right at home on their overpriced rug. Rose sat cross-legged by your face and massaged your arms.
“I’m sorry we love playing dress up so much,” Rose whispered as she gave up on your arms and began braiding your hair. You never had siblings growing up, so you were unaccustomed to the hustle and bustle that were the Tico sisters. Rolling onto your side, you propped your head up on one arm and replied, “It’s okay. I’m sorry if I’m being a sourpuss. I am having fun. I love you and Paige. It’s the reminder that I’m dirt poor that I’m not enjoying.”
Rose fluffed the ends of your hair and smiled. “Just one more dress, and we’ll be done. I promise.”
Just in time, Paige entered the room with a single black garment bag. Carefully unzipping it, she pulled a navy blue gown out. Inch-by-inch the crepe was revealed. The top was off-shoulder with crystal embellishments dotting the neckline in a floral motif. The bust featured beautiful drapes, and fell into a figure-hugging silhouette. A soft and delicate chiffon cape fell from the back and trailed along the floor.
Sitting up, you gasped, “Wow. That’s not for me, right?”
Paige reached a hand out to help you stand. She slowly eased you into the dress and carefully zipped up the side. You looked like a modern-day princess. How could something be so sexy and elegant at the same time?
Rose rushed to your side and began to coo alongside her sister. The three of you faced the mirror in awe. Fingers shaking, you tentatively reached underneath your arm to look at the price tag.
Paige immediately slapped your hand away. Eyes twinkling, the woman smirked, “That’s for me to know, and you to never find out.” Winking, she gingerly unzipped you and whisked the dress away alongside your very full rack of garments.
You began to protest, but the sisters would hear nothing of it. Thirty minutes later, and Paige returned with a mountain of bags and boxes neatly stacked together. She beckoned you towards a marble desk with a singular black box resting in the center.
“Paige. I don’t understand...”
She grinned and made playful eyes with her sister. Leaning forward, Paige whispered, “Before you came in, a VIP called and insisted that we outfit you in a new wardrobe. They already have an account with us, and insisted that we charge anything that looked good onto their card.”
Words escaped you as you turned to look at the ridiculous amount of clothing expertly packed away. “But...I didn’t even...”
Waving her hands, Paige laughed, “Don’t worry! I only picked practical things you’ll get use out of. I am a personal shopper, after all. I’d never send you home with something you’d hate!”
Mutely nodding, you mentally calculated just how much everything cost. You were pretty sure that there wasn’t a single garment in those bags underneath $500.
Holding up a finger, Paige caught your wandering eyes and motioned towards the black box. Pulling the lid off, she cautiously peeled back layer after layer of tissue paper to reveal leather hidden underneath.
A rectangular bag made of calfskin sat nestled in between paper. Pearls gracefully dotted the perimeter, and the middle featured tweed with classic quilting running across the bag.
Two “C’s” interlocked at the center.
Paige pulled the bag out, and pushed it into your shaking hands. She whispered, “Our VIP insisted that we choose a Chanel Boy Bag for you.”

Pride and Prejudice, Chapter 8
Story Summary - Based on an idea I had that I submitted to Imagine Loki. Imagine Loki was raised on Jotunheim as Laufey’s son after the war, but an agreement was then made that he would wed Odin’s daughter so Odin could secure the alliance of Jotunheim through the marriage. Loki, in turn, was raised to be king of Jotunheim, but how he views Asgard is far different from how Odin’s daughter is raised leading to a clash of cultures as well as uncertainty between the pair of betrothed youths.
Chapter Summary -   The wedding takes place, as does everything associated with it.

authors note - This chapter includes a very strained marriage consumption
The day of the wedding came and it was debatable which of them was filled with greater dread.
Loki felt as though he was being sentenced to the gallows in one respect, but in another, he could only think of what it would achieve. By the time he would be forced to eat with her, the Casket would be placed on its altar at the citadel once more and its power seeping back into the Jotunn realm. He kept himself going with that as his ceremonial garb was placed on him. In the fortnight she had been on the realm, he betrothed had rarely bothered him. He could live with such an arrangement. With some ice-whiskey in him that night, he may even be able to endure bedding her and with any luck, her good health and youth would have her with child quickly.
In her rooms, Ella watched as her mother fastened the tie of her cape. “You would think you were sentenced to the sword,” Frigga chastised before stopping what she was doing and looking at her daughter. “I know it is hard, marrying a man you barely know, but you are strong and I do not think him cruel.” “I do not think he will raise a hand to me, no, but I do not think him overly kind either.” Ella countered. “I wish I had been as lucky as you, someone who smiled when I entered the room, someone who took pride in my being their wife, someone whose customs were not a thousand times different to our own.”
“Aesir and Vanir differ.” “Mother, they are not overly different. I am going to be the only one to look anything like me after today, everyone else will be blue. I look so different from them. And Prince Loki looks exactly like them, though with hair, so even the children I am required to have will look like them. I am very alone here.”
Frigga looked sadly at her daughter. “You have prepared your entire life for this, you are not going to fail now, are you?” “Failure is not in my nature.” Frigga smiled sadly at her. “I better continue getting ready.” *
A short hour later, Laufey and Odin stood over proceedings before the wedding knot was tied over their hands and it glowed gold then burnt away, making the marriage binding. No sooner had the last shred of it fell to the ground, the BiFrost opened and two guards stood with a box between them and marched to where Loki and Ella stood before putting the box on the ground next to the altar and Odin tapped his staff to open it.
Loki stood forward and opened the box, looking at its contents wide-eyed for a moment before taking it out, closing his eyes as he felt the power of the Casket surge through him. He walked it over to the altar and placed in on its old resting place. Immediately, the room glowed bright and there seemed to be a warmer atmosphere to the building.
In his elation at the Casket being back on Jotunheim, Loki looked excitedly at Ella, who smiled back at him. At that moment, the animosity he felt had dissipated and he only felt joy.
*
Food was brought from every realm for the feast. It was too extravagant in Loki’s opinion, decadence was not something he wanted to be associated with him. But he could say nothing. Odin had it ordered and dealt with. It felt as though he looked down on their food, which Loki did not doubt. With dignitaries from every realm, Jotunheim could not be seen to be a step down for the Allfather’s daughter, it would have to be masqueraded as a lavish affair for Odin’s ego. The only grace in it all from Loki’s viewpoint was he had heard with his own ears that Ella had told her parents she thought it too much, to include Jotunheim’s cuisines and traditions more. She did not seem to want too great a fuss made, though he wondered if it was because she did not want to draw attention to her marriage on the basis of the husband she was given.
After the meal, they went about speaking to guests. It was the perfect excuse to be away from one another’s company without any thinking it strange.
Ella found herself wanting to talk to people. She missed speaking to others. In her time on Jotunheim, her conversations were not plentiful. She hoped that with her marriage, she would acquire ladies-in-waiting as she had before so that she would have company, she could only wait and see. Until then, she spoke with a few other women, one of which was one of her former ladies, now betrothed to Volstagg, her brother’s friend. It was a good match for Ingrid, who was of a minor noble house, this match would rise her standing considerably but she also seemed to genuinely like the portly warrior which pleased Ella as it clearly made Ingrid happy.
“He is terrifying looking,” Ingrid stated as she looked at Loki.
“He is not. We are merely not used to seeing Jotnar. If anything, he is very handsome.” Ella commented, also looking at Loki who sat with his brothers across the great room. It was true. After the initial shock of seeing beings all blue with blood-red eyes, she did have to admit, Loki was by far the most handsome of the Jotnar men. His mixed heritage had given him attributes of both races that Ella thought to marry incredibly well. She hoped her children would be as lucky.
“But his gaze is so intense. I feel as though he would like to bellow at us all to get off his realm.”
Ella did not argue that point. Mainly because it was entirely true and she knew it. If Loki dispised one Aesir family on his realm, in his home, he would loathe the entire Aesir court being there with every fibre of his being. “This is a trying time for him. He has to deal with an ill father, readying to take the throne, having to have a foreign bride, the likes of which he has never even seen before I would imagine and trying to ensure the Casket does what it is supposed to do. Playing host is so far down the list of things he would wish to do now that it is easy to understand his...well, he need not scowl.” She pursed her lips as Loki seemed to be giving death stares to a being she could not see somewhere across the room.
Ingrid laughed slightly. “Your brother…” “No need to say any more, the scowl is warranted if that is the start of the sentence to explain its cause,” Ella stated plained, causing Ingrid to laugh again.
* “Look at him, he’s a drunkard.” Loki looked at Thor with disgust.
“He is an embarrassment. And the Allfather does nothing.” Helbindi looked to Odin. “At least your mate does not seem to drink.” Loki looked over to see Ella speaking with some Vanir woman. The crystal chalice, the same one she held and had not refilled since the beginning of the meal in her hand, still half full. “Small graces.” “She is odd looking. How are you even going to get excited about that? I guess it’s different, that’s something.” Bylestr commented. “How is Angrboða about it, I have not seen her here since the ceremony?”
Loki swallowed, not able to fathom how hard it would have been for her to watch him go through some foreign ritual with another woman. “She understands that is it for the greater good of Jotunheim.”
“I could not imagine having to have only one mate, especially if she looked like that.” Helbindi shuddered. “I am glad it’s you that the Allfather found that day and not me.”
Loki grimaced and said nothing on the matter. When he saw a shadow to his side and noticed his brothers had ceased talking, he glanced to see who it was, none too pleased to see it was Ella. “Yes?” “We are to leave the hall now, I have been informed.” Her voice was monotone, telling Loki she had heard some of the conversation between him and his brothers.
“Very well, let us get on with it.” He looked at her to see a face of schooled poise. He looked at his brothers who both seemed to think it hilarious. He leant over and took Bylestr’s still half full cup and drank it all. When he stood beside Ella again, her disapproval was obvious. “I doubt you are overly excited about this either. I’m sure your Aesir partners were more to your liking also.” “I never had any.”  Loki and his brothers stared at her in silence at her admission. “I was promised to a foreign prince, I could hardly shame myself by having some form of scandal damage any agreement with him, could I?” “So you come to this marriage with no experience, that is laughable.” Loki scoffed.
“That is correct, but I guess that is lucky for you, as it means that I have no idea of how greatly you could be lacking.”
Helbindi and Bylestr erupted in laughter as Loki looked at her in shock, startled to see he first smug look on her face since he met her. He had not thought her to be in possession of such cutting words. He was about to make a retort when Laufey got to his feet and announced that Loki and Ella were retiring. What came next was, in both of their opinions, humiliating and unnecessary. They were paraded through the room before being escorted to their now shared bedroom.
Loki hated how his personal space was now invaded by this woman. He watched as she used her seidr to undo her dress and leave her in just a night slip. She undid the clips in her hair but kept it in the braid it was in for ease before standing, looking at Loki in uncertainty. For his part, Loki undid the decorative armour he donned before removing his loincloth and simply getting onto the bed. If it were not for the fact she looked terrified, he would have taken pleasure in the scared look on Ella’s face. “What?” “I…” “Have you never seen one before?” She shook her head. “Norns, this is going to be an ordeal. Get onto the bed before it becomes impossible to be willing. The sooner we start on the two sons part of this marriage contract, the better.”  He watched as she slowly and meekly made her way over to the bed. “I can’t enter you with that on you, take it off.” She did as he requested. Loki looked over her body. She was not what he was used to. Peachy skin, no ridges. In that manner, she was peculiar looking, but she was not ugly. He pulled her onto the bed and looked at her, noting her fearful eyes. “You need to relax or this won’t work.” She nodded slightly. “Why did you never try it?” “I have a duty, I was promised.”
In a slight recess of his mind, Loki felt guilty. She had been honourable through it all, he did as he pleased. He gently placed his hand on her skin causing her to jump slightly. “I need to prepare you. I do not wish to harm you.” She nodded and lay still, allowing him to do as he required.
Loki did everything needed to ready her for him, including bringing her to completion so to moisten her adequately for the act itself. When he lay over her, she did as he stated and tried to relax herself. When he entered her, she forced her body not to tense. She thought of their duty. If she was with child when he took the throne, it would be deemed a great success for the monarchy, so she prayed to the Norns it would succeed. To his credit, Loki ensured she was not harmed and that she received pleasure, something she read assisted impregnation, but with little knowledge on how to interact through it, she simply lay there until he finished.

"You can't" Ethan called my attention next to me, I led my eyes to him as I held my hands in front of me "you can't be this calm"
I gave him a little dismissing smile and shook my head a little.
"I am. I've been waiting a lot for this, and Mags has worked really hard for this day to come so..." I made a motion with my hand "I just want her to get here and marry her, that's all"
"I'm just saying, I love my wife and all but I puked my guts out when I was suiting up to get married" he said looking behind me towards the aisle
"He's an agent" Madison intervened from my other side, standing in line with the other bridesmaids "he's got nerves of steel"
Truth was, I was maybe over caffeinated. My only source of food had been just coffee for dinner last night, breakfast, lunch, and just before the reception started I'd drank another cup.
Anything else, anything solid, I couldn't get pass. My throat had been closed ever since our flight back from Vegas, when it really hit me that when I stepped out of the plane, those would be the last 24 hours of me being single.
The last 24 hours were maybe the loneliest I'd ever been. I had been around people, sure, but it made me realize how much I had missed my girl, we hadn't even been allowed to text to eachother, and I needed that overtly enthusiastic good morning text, the 'how was your flight', the 'have you eaten anything'.
God, I just wanted to see her. To see this woman, and marry her, and have an excuse to be so obsessed with anything about her.
Madison was right, I faced situations more difficult than this every single day, and I wasn't nervous about getting married because this was the only thing I'd been so confident about. I wanted to do this.
When I heard the music start to play, I honestly didn't know what to feel, and as soon as I turned around to face the alley, I couldn't pick a particular emotion.
Mags had once again outdone herself. Everything about her was right out of a dream. The dress she was wearing was beautiful, hugged her chest perfectly, the layers of tulle hung from her waist down delicately, but the tail followed graciously behind her.
Her make up was so delicate and bold at the same time, those lips I had missed over these last few days were decorated with a dark violet tone, kind of maroon.
They curved into the biggest smile I had seen her while she walked towards me, being accompanied by her Uncle Patrick, who was her dad's brother and the closest one to being her dad.
Once she was standing in the step below were I was, I pulled my hand out to shake his, then got ahold of Mag's soft hand. I watched her step for her since she has heels and her dress had to be lifted up. When she moved her eyes over me I smiled at the way she looked surprised, placing a hand over my chest.
She gave me a look and muttered that I looked so good, and honestly I couldn't resist pulling her in for a kiss, holding her by the waist to my chest. Luckily, she turned to give me her cheek, and I still gladly kissed it.
She stood next to me, our hands still holding, and as we looked ahead to the priest who was going to marry us, her fingers slowly tangled with mine, and her thumb went up and down on my hand.
The priest did the whole "we're gathered here today" thing, but as soon as I had the chance I turned my head to look at her. She looked so radiant, so smug, so goddamn beautiful this woman.
It took a few seconds of shamelessly staring at her and not paying attention to the priest for Maggie to actually turn her head around and give me a scolding squeeze in the hand, motioning at me with her eyes to pay attention. She still had a smile on her face.
I did turn around to face the priest and listen to what he said about love and marriage, faithfulness, trust and all that.
The ring exchange couldn't come too fast for my liking, by the time he finished the short introduction and made us face eachother, Mag's other hand came to hold mine while we turned on our heels to stand face to face.
There was something about her, about her eyes, her smile, everything about her. She looked so radiant.
I knew the vows were coming up, and I felt an increasing knot in my stomach, fearing that something would go wrong.
"Do you both pledge to share your lives openly with one another, and to speak the truth in love? Do you promise to honor and tenderly care for one another, cherish and encourage each other, stand together, through sorrows and joys, hardships and triumphs for all the days of your lives?" The priest said, and I couldn't feel more attacked by those words, because I felt like they resembled me more than Mags. I hid a lot from her, and she hid a lot from me.
The look on her face made it all better, because she gave me a twist of her eyebrows as if 'you better start letting me in on stuff'.
"We do" we said in unison. She accepted me for me, flaws and all, and I accepted her in her beautiful self, flaws and all, as minimal as they were to me.
"Do you pledge to share your love and the joys of your marriage with all those around you, so that they may learn from your love and be encouraged to grow in their own lives?"
"We do" we said again in unison.
"May these rings be blessed as a symbol of your union. As often as either of you look upon these rings, may you not only be reminded of this moment, but also of the vows you have made and the strength of your commitment to each other."
Of course, Talia was our ring girl, and Ella had been our flower girl.
When the priest presented the rings, Talia walked from her mother's side and held up the pillow with the rings. Mags hadn't seen them, but of course, mine was a simple gold band, while hers was a little curved to frame her engagement ring. Maybe Mags would have wanted to go simple for the both of us, but I wanted her to show off.
I held her ring up to match her hand, and took a breath, looking up at her, and readying myself for the vows.
"Maggie. I promise to grow with you and build with you a better life each day as we learn from each other to be patient, kind, giving, and to always cherish each day together. Do you take me as your lawfully wedded husband?"
She had the biggest smile, because obviously I hadn't mentioned her what my vows would be about, we'd just agreed to keep it short.
She nodded before she even said "I do" as her hand squeezed mine. I matched the ring to her finger again and slowly slid it up, fixing it right above her engagement ring.
She immediately looked down at her hand, how those two rings decorated her hand.
She moved one of her hands to the other ring still left on top of the pillow, I saw her hand shake a little in nervousness, and I ran my thumb over the top of her hand, reassuring her that it was fine to be a little shaken up.
She moved her gorgeous green eyes to mine and gave me a smile once again.
"I'm gonna start crying" she whispered while she quickly cleared a  year that fell from her eye, then squared her shoulders and took a deep breath, smiling again at me and reciting.
"Don, I love you without knowing how, or when or from where. I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride. Loving what I know of you, and trusting what I do not yet know. Home is wherever you are. I love you not for what you are but what you are when I’m with you. Do you take me to be your lawfully wedded wife?"
"I do" I said , smiling myself. Maggie slid the wedding band on my finger and held my hand, waiting for the next words from the officiant.
"Go now in peace and live in love, sharing the most precious gifts you have, the gifts of your lives united. And may your days be long on this earth. I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."
Yes, that part was the one I was waiting for, because hadn't I missed those lips. I pulled her by the waist as her hands came to my neck and our lips joined, I felt her smile on top of mine as our guests applauded and cheered at us. The kiss ended too quick for my liking, I could kiss her forever.
We got off the the little altar, Maggie watching her step as I helped her down, and we both walked down the aisle whilst our friends and family clapped and cheered.
We walked down the side of the wedding venue where we were supposed to stay for a bit until the guests were led inside for the reception, meanwhile we had to make good out of the remaining sunlight for some pictures.
When we were out of sight we stopped, and looked at each other, Mags had a smile from ear to ear.
"Hi" she said, then unexpectedly jumped at me, I caught her and held her tight to my chest as her lips downed to mine in a kiss that was more like the one I was needing, the rough and needy. "Mm" she move her hands to my arms to make me put her down "my God let me look at you" she said excitedly, taking a step back and placing her hands on her waist. "You look delicious, you're like porn for women, that's what you are" she said, making me chuckle and extending my hand to hers, which she quickly took.
"Me? What about you?" I said giving her a little spin, her dress danced around her and moved delicately over her legs "you look flawless" I said, she gave me another smile and took the sides of her dress, moving it around.
"Do you like it? Look" she said hiding her hands on the sides "it has pockets"
I chuckled and took a step to her, pulling her by the waist and kissing her again.
"I like the back, it's like a rainbow with the pot of gold at the end" I moved my hand from her waist and gave her ass a firm grasp, making her spring up and chuckle, swatting my hand away and muttering to stop over my lips, kissing them again.
She sighed against them and placed her arms around my neck and shoulders, longingly kissing me.
She pulled back after a few seconds and placed her hands in my neck
"I've missed you" she said with a little voice, then smiled again "this lipstick is bomb, you've got nothing on you" she led her lips to mine again and kissed them.
The next 5 hours of my life happened in such a quick succession that it was almost as if I was looking at pictures of it as it happened. We did the little photo shot outside, then we walked into the venue we're again we were applauded and congratulated. This time we took a little more time to get to everyone who was coming to us to gave us their congratulations and good wishes. I remember Mags didn't eat a single piece of food during the actual dinner, but by the time we cut the cake she was more relaxed ate three pieces. I remember us in our first dance, slowly swaying and taking turns with everyone else at the party.
I remember my mom tearing up a little, she said she was happy she was happy for me, she loved Maggie with all of her heart, just like everyone.
I remember almost not speaking during the event, I was always abstracted in my own world just watching, watching Mags walk around, talk to people, laugh, smile, dance. She was the happiest I'd ever seen her, which meant that the whole ordeal had a big "mission accomplished" stamp on my part.
I remember reminiscing about her wedding vows, when I recalled her vows, the "Loving what I know of you, and trusting what I do not yet know" part suddenly made my heart squeeze. She was the love of my life. I even blurted it out of nowhere.
"You're the love of my life" I said, she was sitting on my lap at the dawn of the party, with a half finished piece of cake on a plate, I'd caught her mid bite. She gave me a little tender look with a smirk
"Even after three pieces of cake?" She joked.
"Of course. Even after three kids and thirty years and three hundred grey hairs"
She knitted her eyebrows together and pouted at me
"Stop, you're gonna make me cry" she wined, leaning to me and giving me another kiss "I love you"
"I love you too princess" I kissed her cheek and watched her give me a sweet smile.
The party winded down very late, it was almost 5 am when we finally drove off the wedding venue and to our hotel, there had been a lot of gifts to be taken to the cars and later back home, by the time we reached the elevator of the hotel either of us could keep their eyes open, Mags had given up on the high heels ages ago. The weather had been nice up until 2 am, Mags had stolen my suit jacket, I don't think either of us had strength to take out clothes off before we passed out on the bed, I hadn't slept a wink the night before and had been up for at least 40 hours.
We both got a chuckle out of three girls that were obviously very inebriated and got into the elevator with us, giving us compliments and oh-ing at Mags in here wedding gown.
When we got to our room, she only had to unzip the side of her dress and let it fall to the sides, she didn't even bother to put on a pijama or something to sleep, and not that I minded, I loved the sight and feel of her body cuddling next to mine. I kissed her forehead goodnight and heard her mumble
"We can do the whole consumption of the marriage tomorrow"
Oh, and we did. After waking up at past lunch time the next day, we asked for room service and after Maggie spent half an hour taking off the clips of her hair, we had the entire day to ourselves, which basically was just sex with intermittent talking topics such as "how was my bachelor party, how was yours, thank God Uncle Pat didn't got drunk enough to attempt to debug the cake" I joked something along the lines of  "it was the wedding of a federal agent, of course the cake was bugged" she gave me a laugh and whilst climbing on top of me, she kissed my lips again.
As if I didn't knew my girl already, I knew she would be craving some real food after being on a diet for months, she very gladly accepted my invitation for a not so romantic dinner at the local fast food place in Virginia.
She was happily stuffing her face with bacon a cheddar cheese french fries when my phone rang. I hesitantly picked it up and after a short exchange of words with AD Cooper, I gave her a little disappointed twist of my lips.
"Duty calls"
"I've had a blast today, you know, as our first day as a married couple" she said sweetly, reaching my hand over the table.
"I've had an amazing day too, considering I haven't seen you in almost four days, I missed everything about you" she smiled at took my hand, leaving a kiss on the back of it.
"You know, we still have the honeymoon, just say the word baby, I'll take you somewhere amazing" she grinned.
"Can't wait. I'll have to deal with this first" I said motioning at my pocket where my phone laid.
She sat back on the chair, signaling that she was finished eating.
"We'll just have to see where it takes us"
"Yeah, we'll see"

💌 Congratulations Kat!! You are so wonderfully deserving of 2K!! You are so sweet and talented and creative! You are a wonderful human and I’m glad to have you in my life! (Also if it’s not too much of a bother do you think you could make some Daenerys Bi flag icons for pride, if not I totally understand I just love your icons!)
Hello, Ella! I honestly could write a book about how wonderful you are. You are so smart, and you write amazing metas, and you get on pretty much with the entire fandom because you are so kind that no one could dislike you.
You were one of the people who kept me going through the horrible time that was the latter half of season 5. I missed you so much over this year because you’re one of those people who bring a smile onto my face just by being in my life. Thank you for being an amazing person, sweetie!
And it’s not bother at all, I’ve never made anything with Dany so this was a first for me, but she’s absolutely beautiful and a joy to edit.
I made two, in case you didn’t want her too serious. So feel free to use one of these or request a different one if you don’t like these?

She Gets That From You: The Pose
Here is the next installment in the She Gets That From You series of one-shots. I hope y’all like it!
She Gets That From You: The Pose
“Daddy, one more time please?” requested the small, blue-eyed, swimsuit-clad child in front of Owen. He nodded. It was a Saturday, and he didn’t have a shift in the hospital today, so he’d agreed to take Ella to the swimming pool while Amelia worked. About halfway through the day, Ella had discovered the joys of the diving board. Ever since, she’d been diving from the low diving board, swimming to the ladder, emerging from the pool, and getting back in line. He watched her walk quickly back toward the diving board area. She knew better than to run by now. She’d done that once earlier in the day, but upon hearing Owen’s stern voice telling her to walk on the wet pavement, she’d walked every time since then.
Owen was surprised to see that this time she didn’t get in line for the low diving board. Instead, his tiny eight year-old daughter got in line for the high dive. It was very high. 16 feet to be exact. But still his daughter, the spitting image of Amelia, got in line for the higher diving board. She patiently waited her turn and climbed the ladder when she reached the front of the line. Owen watched with intrigue as she walked to the edge of the diving board, stopped, pulled her shoulders backward, took a deep breath, and then jumped off the board.
Her tiny little body dropped to the surface of the water and then made a smooth entry. After a few seconds, her head emerged from the water, and she began to paddle her way toward the ladder. Once she was out of the pool, she made her way back over to where he sat. He wrapped her up in a towel and did his best to get her dry before putting some clothes back on her and leading her out of the pool area and toward his truck.
They had been on the road for about five minutes before Owen decided to ask the question that had been on his mind ever since he watched her jump off of that high diving board. “Ella, why did you decide to jump off of the high dive?”
“I was scared, but I wanted to prove I could,” she answered without hesitation. Owen almost laughed. She sounded just like her mother: always up for a challenge and eager to prove that she could do anything she put her mind to.
“Mhm,” he said. “I saw you stop before you jumped. What did you do when you stopped on the diving board?”
“I was doing what Miss Rodruiguez taught us,” she supplied.
Owen nodded. “And what’s that?”
“She told us that if we’re afraid, we should stop, take a breath, and pull our shoulders back,” said Ella. “She says that pulling our shoulders back opens ourselves up. She said that when we’re open, we can accept new experiences we’ve never had before, even scary ones. I tried it one time when I was on the playground, and it made me feel better, so now I do it whenever I’m scared of something. It makes me feel brave and strong. Like a superhero!”
Owen couldn’t stop the huge smile that overtook his face. His mind immediately flashed to images of his wife in the scrub room with her closed fists on her hips, reminding herself that she was a brilliant surgeon who could accomplish what others could not. He was confident that his intelligent, self-assured, inquisitive daughter would grow up to be just like her mother. She would push the boundaries and do things others wouldn’t attempt. Even at the young age of eight, she was teaching herself how to push aside her fears and accomplish her goals. He couldn’t deny the pride he felt at witnessing her determination.
When they arrived at home, Owen helped Ella down from her seat in the car. As soon as she was freed, she was jogging into the house. He followed behind her and wandered through the house in search of his wife. He found her in the kitchen preparing dinner with a very excited Ella telling her all about the enthralling adventures she had engaged in on the diving boards throughout the day. He waited for a break in the conversation before speaking up. “Ella, show Mama what you did before you jumped off of the high dive.”
Ella obediently followed her father’s instructions. She stepped in front of her mother, took a deep breath, and pushed her shoulders back. Amelia looked on with interest. “Why did you do that, love bug?” Amelia asked.
“Because it makes me feel brave,” Ella answered. “Miss Rodriguez taught it to me. She said that everybody feels scared sometimes, but we all need to be open to new experiences. She told us that when we feel afraid about a new experience, we should take a deep breath and push our shoulders back to open ourselves to the new experience. She said it will help us remember that we can learn how to do it and the new thing could be great. Now I do it every time I feel scared of something new. It makes me feel like I can do anything.”
“That’s great, Els!” Amelia cheered. “I’m so proud of you!”
“Mama, why don’t you show Ella what you do when you’re nervous about something,” Owen suggested.
Amelia nodded. “Sometimes I feel like I can’t do it, too. When I feel that way I make fists with my hands and put them on my hips,” she said, demonstrating what she meant as she spoke. “I call it my superhero pose. It reminds me that normal people can be real-life superheroes. It reminds me that I can do things that scare me. A lot of times, it gives me that little push I need to get me to do something that I know I should do, but I’m scared to do.”
Ella looked on in awe. “I think I should change my pose to be like yours, Mama.”
“I don’t want you to,” Amelia said without hesitation.
“No?” Ella asked.
“No,” Amelia confirmed. “I think your pose is just perfect. In fact, I think I want to make mine more like yours.”
“Really?!” Ella asked with wide, amazed eyes.
“Yep,” Amelia said. “I think I’ll do it like this now.” She squared her hips, made her hands into fists, set her fists on her hips, and then pushed her shoulders backward. “I like what you said about being open to new experiences. I think I’m going to try to push my shoulders back now.”
“See? Just like Mama,” Owen interjected.
Ella smiled proudly. “Just like Mama,” she repeated, taking a deep breath and pushing her shoulders back.

“It’s them, but it’s not them !” 2/2 -Bruce Wayne x Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
@m-fairbank also asked the same thing, things happening on Batmom’s point of you, and also some of the batboys...and I kinda planned something like that anyway. So here’s a sequel for “It’s her but it’s not her”, and I hope you’ll like it (and hope the “mixed feelings” were still good ones ;-)) AGAIN felt like I could write something better, might re-write everything...I rushed a bit writing it cause I’m in L.A but I also wanted to write something and...I guess it’s this kind of time eh.
Summary : Batman and his kids accidentally got send in an alternate dimension, and Batmom has the displeasure of realizing that her Bruce from this other world is...not hers at all.
FINISHED SERIES : PART 1
my master list blog :@ella-ravenwood-archives
_____________________________________________________________________
When your husband and kids came home with Diana and Clark, you didn’t think too much of it. It wasn’t unusual for your friends to come over to the bat cave and work, or even just chill.
But when you went to kiss Bruce, and you felt him stiffen under your touch. When he didn’t kiss back, and even moved away, his head moving back and forth between you and Clark, stunned. When your sons stared at you with wide eyes and open mouthes...you realized something was wrong.
-Wh...what is it ?
Bruce didn’t say anything, he found he couldn’t say anything. The Hell just happened ? Clark’s wife just kissed him ! And...What was she doing in the bat cave anyway, at this hour ?
Under your husband’s gaze, you felt uncomfortable for the first time in your life. Usually, he had the opposite effect on you, you were always so relaxed around him. Even during charity balls or such obligations you had as Waynes, when your introverted self felt awful, his mere presence calmed you down and helped you get threw the night.
But right now, the way he was looking at you made you shiver. You didn’t recognize his usual look...In his eyes right now, there were no love, no relief to see you well and alive, no joy, no slight impatience to finally get to bed with you. Instead, there was confusion, embarrassment, and a slight touch of curiosity maybe ?
And your children...None of them rushed to hug you first, or to tell you who’s ass they kicked this time.
Something was wrong. Terribly wrong.
Clark approached you, and laid a soothing hand on  your shoulder.
-They...Hum...They’re not who you think they are.
Diana rolled her eyes, leave it to Superman to not be able to actually explain something properly. She came close to you too, and said :
-There was an...accident with the League. A portal open and your family went threw, they came back, and they’re not...
-I understood what Clark meant.
Even though the situation was serious, Superman couldn’t help but give a look at Wonder Woman that meant : “See, she got it”. Diana stuck her tongue out to him. Those two could sometimes be so childish. And cute. But right now, you weren’t feeling like you could appreciate how cute they could be together.
You looked at Bruce, and you were sure everything was true. This wasn’t your Bruce. And they weren’t your children...You felt sick. And you fainted. The Batman was the fastest to catch you, and you collapsed in his arms.
You were as light as a feather, and holding you like that made him feel weird...he just couldn’t pinpoint what exactly were those feelings.
Alfred rushed toward you guys, and said :
-Oh my oh my oh my, let’s take her to your...hum...Her room I guess. Follow me...Master Bruce.
**********************
Bruce, not your Bruce, another one, took you to the room you shared with your husband. You were still unconscious. Too many emotions at once. What if this “portal” couldn’t be re-open, meaning you’d never see your family again ? No. That couldn’t happen. And yet...
Batman laid you down delicately in the bed, noticing that it was left undone and that there were definitely two people usually sharing this bed. He didn’t really know what he felt right now. So, in this World, you weren’t his best friend’s wife, you were...His.
-Come Master Bruce, let Lady (Y/N) rest, it must be quite a shock to...Well, you know.
He definitely knew. He couldn’t believe it, in his World, you and Clark were so in love...Yes, he knew you had a crush on him years ago, and he liked you too, but he also knew that in his line of work, there was no time for serious relationship and all...Was he wrong ? Did he make a mistake ? According to what his friends from this World’s League told him, everything was fine here too, mostly thanks to the Batman, to this other him who was...married. To you. His best friend’s dear wife. Who used to like him, and vice versa. He just couldn’t wrap his head around that.
Him and his children followed Alfred threw corridors, and they couldn’t help but stop at almost every pictures hung on the walls. It wasn’t austere paintings like in their house, it was colorful photographs.
Dick stopped in front of a picture where he just graduated from High School, and you and Bruce were on each side of him, arms around his shoulder. All of you smiled, even the bat. “I’m so proud of you son”, was written on the picture, signed by Bruce. A little cute heart followed by “I love you my wonder boy, you’re the most fantastic one ever !” was also written, with a signature he didn’t recognize, probably yours. His heart tightened, Bruce wasn’t even at his graduation day where he came from...
Jason’s eyes got attracted by a picture where he was sitting on Bruce’s shoulders. Bruce was looking up at him, a bright smile on his face, one of his hand holding his, while the other held the hand of Clark Kent’s wife...Apparently his wife in this world. You. Jason looked happier than he ever felt in this picture. In his free hand, the one Bruce wasn’t holding, he had some cotton candy. On the bottom of the picture was written : “Gotham Fair, summer 1996, picture proudly taken by yours truly, Dick Grayson”. How was this possible ? In his World, Bruce and Jason weren’t on the best terms at all. They actually rarely spoke, though they worked together...This was all so unsettling.
Tim was in front of a picture of him, age 10 or something. Bruce was holding him in his arms, hugging him lovingly. You were next to him, holding a trophy in your hand, and Tim recognize the science fair he won 7 years ago, but neither Bruce nor you (obviously) were there to congratulate him. He was smiling like crazy, his arms in the air as a sign of victory, and Bruce was raising him almost above his head, pride shining in his face. The caption under the picture read : “Timmy winning the science fair, 4th grade, picture taken by proud big brother Jason (Dick was flirting with Tim’s teacher, of course he would...)”. Tim felt tears welled up in his eyes, his life was so far from what he was seeing on this picture...
Damian stopped in front of one where it was just you and him. Outside on a snowy day. You were bending down a bit to be at his height, your arms slung around him, clearly laughing, and he was...smiling. Not of the fake smile he gave people at charity balls and such, no, a real, true, heartfelt smile. He never smiled like that...Also, he was holding your arms in a sideway hug. He couldn’t remember one time he ever hug anyone, or been hugged. Under the picture was written : “Damian and mom, Winter 2016, Dami’s first snowballs fight, picture taken by a very defeated Bruce”.
Bruce was standing in front of a picture that made his heart beat faster than ever. It was you and him, he wore a beautiful suit, and you were in a wedding dress. Your foreheads touched, and the smiles on both your faces were the most broad and beautiful. “Wedding day, 1992, picture taken by little Dickie”. His eyes then went to the picture next to that, you were both in front of a Japanese temple, he was kissing the crown of your head, and you were smiling, your hand splayed on his chest, your head on his chest. “Honeymoon, 1992, Japan”.  Next picture, you and him at a charity ball. You were so beautiful. The entire wall was just pictures of the two of you, and another life he could have had unfolded in front of him. That other Bruce seemed so happy...Maybe he did make a mistake by turning you down all those years ago.
Dick took him away from his sad thoughts :
-Wow. It sure seems like we have very different lives here eh...
-No shit right ? Maybe I never got beaten by the Joker with a crowbar here...
Alfred jumped in, so far, he didn’t say anything and let them look at the pictures that littered the walls :
-I’m afraid you did die, master Jason. However, Lady (Y/N) convinced you long ago to give up your...murderous ways you adopted after you came back to life.
-Oh...Well...Shit. That’s...That’s so weird. I feel weird.
-I feel weird too.
Tim said, looking at multiples pictures of himself and his brothers having a good time...Christmases, easters, birthdays...They were a real family here.
Damian didn’t say a word, but thought the same things. He felt jealous toward the other version of him. He had a dad and a mom. Real ones...
Bruce’s harsh voice stopped all of their thinkings.
-Let’s go boys, we have important things to do.
*******************
You woke up during the night, alone, and remembered everything. You felt sick again, but didn’t faint.
For the next two weeks, you tried to help them as best you could to find a way back home. You felt so strange, not being able to touch any of them without them stiffening under your fingers. You felt so strange, not being able to kiss your husband, or hold your children. You felt...incredibly sad. You missed them so much.
And they were no better. They had a hard time handling their discoveries. That in this world, they were a family, they were happier. Everything was not always perfect, according to Alfred, but they were...together.
Alfred’s heart bleed with the thought that somewhere, his Bruce wasn’t the one he raised at all. Somewhere, he never met you, and never got out of the dark well he fell into when he was 8. Somewhere, he was just The Dark Knight and nothing else...and apparently, he had a very difficult relationship with his sons.
You intervened multiple times to stop a dispute that sprout between them. All of this was so wrong...
At night, Bruce couldn’t sleep. More than usual. Plagued with dreams about what his life could have been.
*********************
Finally, they found a way home, though they weren’t sure they really wanted to leave. But they couldn’t stay, they couldn’t steal what their other selves had. It wouldn’t be right.
You felt a deep sadness in your heart though, as you saw them leave. From your understanding, their lives weren’t the greatest, and you couldn’t help but feel terrible at the thought of your children, and him, your Bruce, being miserable...however, they weren’t really yours, and when your family went threw the portal to return to you, you forgot everything. It made you feel guilty for a while, but what could you do ? Bruce’s decision in the other World were his. You felt so guilty feeling like it was his fault if things went that way...but realistically, it was...He’s the one that didn't let you enter his life.
However, the thoughts of that other Bruce, Dick, Jason, Tim and Damian never left you. From the day your family came back, you loved them even more than before, if that was possible, and took care of them even more too. Because you realized that without you, things would be very different, and you hated how things would be. You hated the fact that they all looked so sad and distressed. That they all seem to lack love and affections so much. It made you physically sick to think about those other boys...So you turned your pain for them into love for the one you had. For your husband. For your sons. Because here, they were yours. And they’d always be yours.
However, you could just never forget about them, even though you thought it was kind of that other Bruce’s fault. You just couldn’t be that cold. Your heart went to those boys, and to the man that never married you. It might have been his fault if it didn’t happen, but you knew he didn’t deserve to be miserable...
******************
Back in his dimension, he was thinking about it, and would definitely agree with you. It was his fault. And he knew now that he made a terrible mistake years ago. He should’ve never turned you down all those years ago. Maybe now, he wouldn’t feel so hollow, so empty...Maybe you were the missing piece. But he could never have you. Not anymore, it was too late. You just had Clark’s child...
He put his head in his hands, and let himself cry. For the first time in years. Because the thought of what he let go off was just too painful. Things could be so different, for him AND for his children. Especially for the kids...they deserved so much better than a broken man unable to show them his affection.
They deserved you. But you were going to love that child you just got with Clark. His son was going to have the life his children should have had.
And it was all his fault...
The End.
