a piece i didn’t have the heart to finish. i’d started this when i found out vld was being taken off of netflix and admittedly got too sad about it to complete it in a way it’d do justice to my feelings.

this next bit might be a little long and unnecessary so im gonna put it under the cut

[TLDR- thank you voltron for being by my side for the last 8 years, i’ll miss you]

i know it’s a little late to make a post like this since it’s been gone for a while now but i wanna so im gonna. this show is so incredibly important to me and i feel like any “farewell” art i make won’t match the way i feel about it being gone after 8 whole years. i’ve been here for 8 years. i was only 12 or 13 when i first watched it and somehow im nearly 20 now which is genuinely so crazy.

it’s a love that’s lasted continuously since the first watch and no media has impacted me the way this silly space cat show has. it’s been in my brain every day since 2016-17 and i haven’t felt my fixation to it waver even a bit. my art accounts and even style to an extent has been built off of vld. it existed no matter what in some way nor the other in my life. always with me even if i never properly rewatched it. i’ve made friendships and discovered some of my favorite creators through it. they just don’t make fandom like vld anymore man, genuinely one of the experiences ever.

i have so much more to say but i will conclude my rambling here since it’s pretty out of character of me to go off on a sappy rant like this and am therefore not used to it but basically what im trying to say is Thank you Voltron. thank you to the creators thank you to the fandom and thank you to the characters. by no means am i gonna stop posting about and making art for the show but it feels like the end of an era with it being gone (ik ik pirated copies etc etc but ykwim)

Followed you for your VLD work and have been enjoying your work ever since. Every once in a while I get back into it and I have to go through your old VLD work each time because your Shiro and Coran fanart is still my absolute favorite.

Sometimes I miss drawing the lads, they were fun! Perhaps in future will get some of the wips I still got lying around done so✌️✌️✌️

What if one (1) earth year equaled ten (10) altean years....

#maybe their orbit was really small #it would mean their year was a little more than a month #10 000 year war becomes 1000 which is much more reasonable #the castle becomes 60 years instead of 600 and Coran is 60 instead of ..ya know ...fucking 600 years old #and then lotor isnt 10 000 but of course a much more reasonable 1000 #god i also have to headcanon that zarkon would regularly punish lotor by putting him in cryo for like 100+ years #the WORST time out ever #explicitly so all his relationships and political planning falls apart #vld

Headcanon time: Coran has made a travel guide, Coran’s compendium, detailing the best tourist spots to visit on many of the planets he has visited.

Smiling in a photo at one of these locations #(there was also this kinda spooky location he’d drawn himself into. That whoever I was with wanted to visit. Anyway).#Love that Coran jump scare. Is the Voltron fandom still kicking? If so, I need to make them aware of my 4K dream I had which forced me to focus on this

Context below

So, last night, I had a dream which was the clearest dream I’ve had in YEARS and for some reason it was Voltron?? But with the production quality of a show like the Mandolorian

The basis of what happened was the team had landed on a desolate planet in search of idk something like a rock, however the Enemy were also searching for it. So, with the power of old Altaen tech, Coran and Allura simulate a crash to make it look like no one survived. Like this was a really high stakes mission. Allura and Coran kept going on about how the tech was old and the simulation wouldn’t look or feel believable, plus they don’t know how human bodies work, etc etc.

But uh it was scarily accurate by the teams standards, sent a shiver down Shiro’s spine for sure.

And so the team go off and start searching, splitting up to cover more ground. Managing to get out of sight just before the Enemy arrives. Accompanying the enemy is keiths alien girlfriend, the red lady in the top left of the drawing, who currently is spying on the enemy from the inside. She insists on checking the bodies to “check they’re well and fully dead” as she knows the most about human biology. What she’s infact doing is checking for a specific engraving on Keith’s spacesuit, and when it’s not there, she knows they aren’t actually dead.

I’ve already started coming up with headcanons and other bits and bobs, but like…bare in mind I’ve not watched Voltron in YEARS
