Yeah don’t know what to say regarding Logan, like, I get that Williams have little to no money so they need to look after every penny, but it seems almost like they are kinda giving up on him😐

I totally agree with you. First off, I understand why Williams would make this choice from a financial perspective. They have a tight budget to keep and if they estimated that they couldn't keep to it if they had to make more parts then I can absolutely respect that. But also this is so bad for Logan for multiple different reasons. He's losing an opportunity to learn what differences introducing a new front wing can bring regarding the feel and performance of the car. Which is especially bad because he's a rookie and he needs to learn right now. He's also not going to feel confident in himself or the car if all he sees is that Alex is continuously outperforming him by miles. The combination of his car being less optimal than his teammates' and him lacking experience and just generally not outperforming the car like Alex is doing is going to make him look worse than he is and potentially compromise his future options in F1. So currently it's really not looking too good for Logan.😕

I saw some people bringing up some very interesting points on Twitter regarding the rookie situation in F1 right now. Basically they were saying that it's unreasonable to expect rookies to perform on extremely high levels and be perfect in their first year and because of this some drivers are not even getting to show what they're capable of because they get fired before they settle in. Now i'm not saying that this can be applied universally to every driver who ever enters F1, but for some it's very true, and I think this might be Logan's fate in the end. I really hope he pulls through tho. I don't know how long his contract is with Williams, but if it was only a 1 year contract and they still haven't signed him for next year then it's going to be hard for him. And right now Williams is not making it easier. But as I said I understand their reasons and we also have to remember that the Williams F1 team is a business at the end of the day and if they calculated that one of their drivers is not worth it, then it's in their right not to re-sign them.😕

as someone who was around for bp’s debut i will NOT be stooping to blackjack level and i will not be bitter towards these literal children like some people are already doing. however.. can’t say i’m the biggest fan of this song and i have many criticisms. here are my thoughts that no one asked for:

i actually like the verse instrumental and it’s perfect for rapping which is why imo the rap section ate. however idk how well it works with singing over it so i’m not crazy about the verses themselves. didn’t really like the pre chorus either but that chorus.. girl.. 😐 they really used the exact same trumpet sample pack as they did for lisa’s money like ?????? we can’t even blame teddy or tbl for this bcs they’re nowhere to be seen on the song. that yg ending is so random too like what is going on actually? 😭

tried out more moon photos. not too satisfied. i think the problem with how blurry my photos are comes from

A. zooming in on iphone (but if i were to use my next highest magnification some parts of the moon would be out of frame, and i didnt have time to experiment anyway bc it was setting behind my neighbor’s house)

B. literally whenever i tapped my phone to take a picture, it would blur like hell. just that small little movement ruined the entire shot. in fact, this photo is a screenshot of a video, the only way i could workaround that

C. but then that introduces the quality deterioration that comes from screenshotting, so. maybe i need a way to extract individual frames but in this case i think its negligible compared to points A and B

i did take a few videos, so i’m gonna fuck around and see if i can try stacking. however due to the minuscule movements caused by me simply holding my phone (bc i DO NOT trust my phone mount to hold my phone’s whole weight) i’m not sure if stacking will improve the sharpness or actually make it more blurry. idk

i’m also gonna try and get out again when the moon’s about half full, so i guess in one week. i’m wondering if simply having more surface area will let the maria be more visible than they are here. but the sharpness is still an issue thats eluding me

it had been enjoyable for the most part, you had some weird experiences but that was normal for every job

looking at overdue returns were interesting though, especially because you could see just how messy people were

some people wouldn’t return books for a few days or weeks, you’d have fun seeing what books they checked out

but one case made you especially curious

lee chan… that name was very familiar. wait. he’s in your english class!

yes you knew him, he always sat a few rows in front of you and he always seemed to carry a new book into each class every day

you figured his overdue status wouldn’t be that bad

but no. this man hasn’t returned his book in 2 months

and it irritated you even more because you’ve been waiting to read that book!!!!

so you made it a personal mission to get him to return the book

you approached him after class one day like “hey! why haven’t you returned your library book yet”

and he’s like ??? hello to you too why are you asking me about that

you quickly explain that you work at the library and didn’t wanna threaten him but also…. return the book

he’s super apologetic like oh shit! I will return it asap sorry!!!

but then a week goes by. and another week. and now you’re just like is lee chan a liar? what do I have to do to get him to return this book?

so you use the weekend to conjure up a plan to get the money, and you decide to ask him for the late fee

he comes up to the desk like “really 😐 is that necessary.” like yes absolutely it is. because his friend seungkwan already tried to pay you earlier that day during your shift and you obviously had to reject it

chan really didn’t get why you cared so much about this. like I guess it made sense, it was your job to get people to return books but this was a little extreme

so he figured two could play at that game. he worked at the campus gym whenever he could, he often shared shifts with some of his friends

he decided to put your name on the list for students who aren’t allowed to reserve rooms. he saw you request rooms occasionally so he figured it was a subtle yet effective hit

you threaten him by saying if you don’t get the book, both of them would be suspended from using the library for the rest of the school year

wonwoo sighed and agreed to the conditions, handing you the book back

you thank wonwoo and spin around to face chan. you smack him on the back of his head and say “that’s what you get for cutting into my post-class nap time. give me the $15 or I will come for you.” you rush away with a stunned chan and confused wonwoo in the background

chan knew it was bad. it shouldn’t have had to come to that and he didn’t want you involved in his stupid bets with friends

he knew he’d get some shit from wonwoo eventually but that didn’t matter right now, he wanted to make things right with you

when he found the book at a local bookstore, he saw that there were signed copies by the author and it was a perfect touch!

- on the night of the championship game you were there to cheer him on, (also to be steve’s scapegoat for if he didn’t want to be on that date anymore)

- try to give him advice on how to get max back everytime she dumps him (you usually just give him some money to buy her stuff, because words aren’t gonna help at this point 😭)

- you became friends with erica through lucas actually

- she thought you and max were cooler than her brother and his other friends.

- before she knew you had powers though, she definitely thought something was up with you.

- once she did find out though, she definitely used it to her advantage.

idk if im going to have to unfollow, but do you support jk rowling? if not, why do you continue to write harry potter fanfiction? she has explicitly said that enjoying her content and characters is supporting her ideals so idk what to tell you 😐

I'm going to answer this in as straightforward a way as possible in order to avoid looking like I'm avoiding the question or dismissing the issue.

I do not support JKR or her views and for a long time I had (or have) felt that my very irregular participation in the fandom via fics was separate from the author's transphobia and general bigotry. For a very long time I felt that reading HP fic or sharing HP fanart was separate from JKR's transphobia. Increasingly I am uncomfortable with this and I told myself 'well, just finish Caritas out and then you're done. that's it.'

I've read and found value in works from plenty of authors with some atrocious views. But none of them to the level of JKR and none of them with her current public reach.

I haven't considered myself a devoted HP fan in years and for a long time the only thing tethering me to the fandom at all was the friends I had made in it and a few fic ideas I had that I felt genuinely challenged a lot of the world views promoted by her canon works.

I've joked that Caritas is 'the fic for people who hate HP' and 'me venting my final outburst of anger and bitterness and any linger fondness for the source material'. And all of that is true, and it's also true that I've repeatedly stated I am not writing any HP material after Caritas or engaging with it anymore.

I've posted links encouraging people to donate to the National Center for Transgender Equality (https://transequality.org/) or The Trevor Project (https://www.thetrevorproject.org/) alongside some of my updates on ao3.

But honestly I don't know that it is feasible to maintain this anymore and I don't think it's fair to 'ask permission' from trans people I interact with online to keep writing something associated with HP.

No matter how stridently I try to distance my writing from JKR's or whether or not we argue over whether my fics could promote the HP series to new fans and encourage them to support the author's views or put more money in her pocket.

So, yeah. I don't know what to do. I may simply update the fic with the chapters I currently had prewritten, and call it over.

I have enjoyed writing my original characters and wresting back some of the canon characters in it from what I saw as an author who doesn't deserve those ideas anymore.

But though I enjoy writing Caritas, I don't want that enjoyment to come at the cost of the wellbeing of actual people who are really suffering due to the disgusting things parroted by Rowling and other TERFs.

I am absolutely open to suggestions for how to handle this if people have them, but at the same time I am not looking for anyone to reassure me that it's okay to continue this.
