#and later when it comes out that surprise! Prompto's actually an Oracle baby!

Lol, Regis absolutely needs to sit down. Of all the things Noctis could have said, his newest friend and Heart having magic of her own and being his daughter is honestly the last thing he expected.
(Unfortunately for the Nifs, no one mentions that Prompto's magic is just so slightly different to traditional Lucis Caelum magic. Regis therefore makes the same mistake as Prompto and Noctis and assumes that Prompto is therefore his daughter. Which means the Father King is now on a warpath to rescue said newfound daughter from Niff custody, and rest in pieces to anybody who gets in his way.)
Cor wishes he could go back in time and smack some sense into his younger self. That's his friend/brother/King's daughter, his niece in all but blood. He isn't going to just mobilize more people, he is going to be leading missions himself regardless of what Regis or Clarus has to say about it.
Yeah, at this point Regis and Cor probably tell Noctis and co. that no, Regis did not cheat on Aulea while his wife was on her death bed (after a very scathing tirade from Noctis about what he thinks of Regis doing said cheating on his mom and then not even having the decency to raise Prompto as she should have been). But Prompto is no less wanted for her being a product of science and stolen DNA.
You know, I always headcanoned that once Niflheim got their hands on some photos of the prince and his civilian friend, they absolutely knew that Prompto was an escaped clone. The resemblance to Besithia was obvious, after all. They just didn't bother to do anything with it, since it's not like they need that particular clone and it's not even like Prompto has a sleeper programming.
But in the Spark verse, well. Prompto is a child of an Oracle. And if Glauca is a thing, they might even know about her magic.
Either way, they really want to have her back.
I have been sitting on this ask for awhile, because I love it, but unfortunately the muses are not cooperating with me on it.
In most of my fics, Niflheim doesn’t really bother paying too much attention to Prompto - yeah, he’s the prince’s friend, but he’s civilian, and furthermore, not a member of his Retinue, so ergo, he can’t be that important to the prince. Not enough to be worth investing any resources into whatever aim they might want with Prompto anyway.
But in Spark au, Prompto is claimed as Noctis’ Heart far earlier than normal in an effort to protect her secret, and that makes Niflheim take a closer look at this civilian girl who’s gotten so close to the prince. And you’re right, the resemblance is uncanny if you know what to look for.
I feel like Titus wouldn’t know about Prompto’s magic. Noctis and the others are so very careful to keep her magic under wraps, and the cover of Prompto having Noctis’ magic so compelling, that Titus never realizes the truth.
Now, if they ever managed to get their hands on the Prince’s Heart long enough to somehow learn that carefully hidden truth… well.
That would change things, wouldn’t it?

Afternoon Gifts (Babyfic)
For starter’s, I decided to post this now because it’s growing larger than I want to wait for. Also this is a “Fuck you the ten year time skip never happened and no bodies fuckin’ dead” AU! Featuring SunPrince Prompto and MoonPrince Noctis (because I love them and they get to be gay married okay)
Noctis sucks in a breath, staring at the floor, his hand still on the doorknob as he tries to find the words he’s about to need.
How the fuck...his dad might’ve managed to ask the impossible in having Noctis deliver the news.
Next time, he’s definitely just going to make sure Prompto comes with him to a “one-on-one” with the King. After all, Prompto’s a Prince now too and more than capable of handling the job.
“Hey Noct!”
Prompto’s footsteps are familiar, quick and light like he’s not fully tethered to the ground but stopping hard, like he almost forgot to stop moving forward. Noctis closes his eyes and sighs, looks like he’s out of thinking time.
“Oh...bad meeting?”
Noctis shakes his head, hand sliding off the door as he straightens up and leans back, brushing his hair off his forehead and looking at the ceiling, anywhere but his husbands face.
“Not...bad. Dad just wanted to talk about some “future” stuff…”
Prompto frowns, Noctis can practically hear the sound of his lips turning down but he tips his head back down to look just in case he’s wrong. He’s not.
“What kind of “future” stuff?”
He really, really wishes Prompto didn’t already sound so worried, but he supposes he has the right. After all the last few times this sort of thing had come up it had resulted in Noctis and Regis fighting, since Regis had initially not wanted Noctis to marry Prompto and then later Noctis hadn’t wanted to face his father’s mortality.
“It’s the ‘Noctis you must produce an heir’ kind. I was kinda hoping he’d forget about that.”
Prompto’s expression is concerned and worried for a brief moment and then a smile spreads and he laughs, like Noctis doesn’t recognize the defenses by now.
“Oh! Well we can’t have a kid dude, so what, does he want you to cheat on me?”
Noctis groans and shakes his head, moving to the couch in their apartment and flopping down on it, loosening his tie as he goes.
“No, of course not, he loves you too much. He wants...he wants us to look for a surrogate.”
Prompto huffs but starts tugging off Noctis shoes anyways, “That’s a lady to carry your baby yeah?”
Noctis snorts and nods, letting his eyes slip closed as he relaxes a little.
“Do you have to sleep with her or can we just...I don’t know, turkey baster thing it?”
“It’s called in vitro. Turkey-baster...you’ve been watching shitty 80’s movies again haven’t you?”
Prompto laughs and Noctis feels a little more of the tension leave him, it’s a genuine sound and he’s glad Prompto’s at least willing to talk about this, even if it is awkward as hell.
“I only watched like..a couple! And you’re not answering my question Noctis!”
The slight raise of Prompto’s voice belied his genuine concern and Noctis opened his eyes again, sitting up and catching one of Prompto’s hands in his, stroking his thumbs over the skin.
“Hey, hey...I don’t have to sleep with her, at least, I shouldn’t. We can do IVF stuff and everything. WE have to agree on who it is too...I told dad I wouldn’t do it if you were too against it or we couldn’t find someone we both liked.”
He presses a kiss to Prompto’s freckled cheek and tugs his lover’s hand again so he steps around the arm of the couch and sits, letting Noctis scoot around until his head is in Prompto’s lap.
Long fingers shift through his hair and Noctis smiles a little against the fabric of Prompto’s lazy day yoga pants. He always likes coming home to him, but even more when Prompto’s dressed comfy, Noctis’ own smell clings to him in his borrowed shirt and the Prince relaxes further.
“I have no idea who to ask even...and they have to be willing and in good health.”
Prompto hums thoughtfully, “What about Cindy?”
Noctis groans, Prompto’s maybe still a little infatuated with the royal mechanic. His husband chuckles and pokes his cheek.
“Not that! Dude, she’s...she kinda looks like me.”
Prompto’s tone takes on an odd strained note and Noctis rolls too look up at him, seeing the way he tries to hide what he’s thinking, but it’s there still, to Noctis.
“Oh.”
Prompto gives him a quick smile and a raised eyebrow.
“You think it might look more like our kid then?”
Prompto’s nod is a little sheepish and he bites at his lip, but Noctis takes a moment to imagine, not a child of his and Cindy’s, but a baby with Prompto’s almost curls and blue-black hair, big blue eyes and a smattering of freckles, Prompto’s nose and Noctis’ mouth. His chest tightens oddly and he looks away from Prompto, staring at the ceiling.
He thinks about how Cindy’s features will change the image, maybe green eyes and skin more tan, true curls. It’s too close and too far at the same time and he swallows hard.
“I dunno man.”
Prompto shrugs, “Yeah, freckles and your skin? Probably not a great look.”
He still looks a little put out though and Noctis taps his nose.
“It’s not the freckles Prom. If anything, it’s the accent.”
That draws a laugh from him and Noctis grins, leaning up for a languid kiss. “We’ve got time.”
He mutters, against lips that are quickly becoming more interested in not-talking.
“I’ve taken the liberty of drawing up a list of options for you and Prompto to consider. They are by no means the only women who might be suitable, but certainly those I thought you would be comfortable with.”
Noctis accepts the file with all the grace of an alligator with indigestion and Ignis frowns at him.
“Iggy...come on, it’s a bit early for all of this don’t you think?”
Ignis presses his fingers together, leveling his trademark advisors stare at Noctis,
“Normally I would agree, but the council is pushing for a decision to be made. You’ve been married nearly two years now and it’s no secret how long you dated before then, they seem to believe you should be looking toward your duty now. You’re father’s health is not declining nearly as quickly as it was before the treaty, but they are cautious. No one can know how long it may take to conceive and if your first choice is not...optimal, adjustments must be made.”
Noctis flinches, fingers pressing harder where he’s gripping the file, too many reminders of how little time there may be until he finds himself crowned.
“And they know that once I put on the ring, I’ll hardly have the energy to raise a child.”
He can’t help the bitterness of the words as he looks aside, it’s something he tries not to think about, something Prompto’s good at dismissing, even though they both know there will come a day when he can’t keep up with the energetic blonde. It’s an icy grip around his heart now.
Ignis’ voice breaks through the melancholy, “Noct, you can’t know that. The draw of the crystals lessens all the time. The scourge is being eradicated and it’s power isn’t so needed. You’ll have plenty of time. I...I believe taking this, “ he touches the folder, the advisor is gone, replaced by the friend, “and thinking about the woman you’re looking for will calm the council’s frenzy, give you and Prompto time to find who you want and to adjust to the thought of a child. It’s why I took this task as well, so there would be no one pushing for a hasty choice.”
Noctis nods slowly, watching Ignis sit back in his chair, light blue dress shirt perfectly pressed, well fitted grey slacks and perfectly matched belt, shoes, and cufflinks. He looks down at himself, a loose tee and a borrowed pair of Prompto’s work out pants, barefoot.
“I...I haven’t thought much...about the actually having a kid part.”
Ignis seems to know, as usual, what his concern is, “That’s why I thought it important for you to have time. For what it’s worth, I believe you and Prompto will make very capable, if somewhat unorthodox, parents.”
Noctis swallows, the folder in his grasp weighs more than it should,
“Thanks, Ig.”
Prompto’s notes are filled with smiley faces and Noctis just rolls his eyes and he moves the one covering the woman’s name. It’s not particularly familiar and it takes him a long moment to place her face.
“The wedding...she came with someone?”
Prompto shrugs, “Dunno, I thought she was pretty, you should have pretty babies.”
He scoops another bite of fro-yo up, “but she’s also got a few health problems and we don’t know her at all, so...eh?”
Noctis snorts and pulls her information out, settling her into the pile of “no” that is growing far too quickly beside them on the large bed. He finds there’s a few of them he might be alright with but Prompto’s good at pointing out the cons of most of them. He’s trying not to be too happy about that, after all it would be easier if they could just chose someone.
He dismisses the next woman immediately, he remembers her, the way she sneered at Prompto, “Common folk are not welcome at my gala’s, but I suppose our young Prince is still learning.”
Prompto glances at her face and sticks his tongue out at the photo, “She was so displeased when I didn’t let her come to our reception.”
Noctis raises an eyebrow at him, even as he takes a bite and says, “what?” around a glob of fro-yo.
“Ignis is around too much if you’re saying “displeased” give me my husband back.”
Prompto grins and immediately has to slurp a little of the melting treat off his chin. Noctis just bumps his shoulder and looks back at the folder, a surprised sound tumbling out.
“Luna?”
Prompto sounds just as surprised, his notes ended the one before, though after a moment’s thought he nods, “Doubt Nyx’d like that.”
Noctis just stays quiet, touching the picture of the oracle. He glances at Prompto, who has already dismissed her, and back to the photo.
“I mean...we do know her pretty well.”
Prompto’s face goes blank so fast that Noctis feels his stomach curl, “Yeah. We know you’re almost-wife really well. I love Luna Noct, but it’s not a good idea.” “
Why?”
It’s more accusatory than he means but Prompto doesn’t get angry, just sets his spoon and bowl aside and takes a deep breath.
“There’s still people who think it shoulda been her right? If you have a kid with her...it’s only gonna get worse. Our marriage will seem weaker and Luna’s having the same trouble we did since Nyx is kinda like me. We don’t wanna do that to her, or to us. I...I don’t know if I’d be okay with it too.”
Prompto rubs his hand over his wrist and Noctis bites back his instinctive comments, thinking. Prompto’s right and really, looking back at Luna’s picture, he can’t imagine having a child with her now, not to mention the Blood of the Oracle mess it might make. He sets the photo aside and leans to swipe a finger through Prompto’s yogurt, kissing his cheek apologetically.
“You’re right but this...ugh. It’s so stupid! How are we supposed to choose some woman? What if they want to raise the kid too? They have to be someone we can be around a lot, because I don’t want to make them stay away or anything...I just thought...Luna would be easier for us that way.”
Prompto nods, “I know Noct. I have no clue dude, who else is left?”
They scoot closer, shoulder to shoulder in the middle of their bed and look at the next person. Crowe’s a friend, but she’s already told them both she never wants a kid, too much chance of her dying in service and she’s just..not good with them. They don’t say anything as they set her aside, there’s no way Ignis could’ve known.
The last person in the file makes Noctis cough and Prompto whistles, Iris Amicitia.
 “That’s….”
Prompto doesn’t have to finish the sentence as he stares at the picture of Iris, old enough now of course but still he remembers her a few years back. Noctis just groans and flops back, disturbing their pitiful yes pile.
“If Ignis wants us dead, he could just poison us.”

Altissia’s Aftermath
Tumblr media
A/N:Alright, what I’ve said about my O/C Six this far is that she’s an immortal sent to see the One True King succeed against the Darkness and it’s deamons.. Not much about the power she possesses or anything about her past really.. Sorry.. I’ll explain everything in time.. I promise on Gladio’s abs!
Now, I know what you read may seem very very strange and out of storyline so please keep in mind that this is kinda my game re-write, so game rules don’t really apply if I can’t make up a story worthy for Six.
I’m still having some Ignis feels after Cooking Magic so this is to clear the way and give some kind of title to Ignis’ and Six’s relationship.
It’s gonna get more wrong before it gets right, so just bear with me!
Feedback is always appreciated!
Altissia was by far the most beautiful place Six had been in. Prettier than Gralea, Tenebrae and the old Crown City put together. It was even better when she and the boys actually reached it. After everything they had been through. All the agony, pain and death they had all witnessed. After losing everything they cared about ; Altissia was a safe heaven.
They couldn’t wait to see all of its grace. The stores, the people. Prompto couldn’t wait to ride in a gondola, by the Astrals, Six wasn’t sure he’d been so exited in his life. Not even when they reached Wiz’s Chocobo Post for the first time; even Noctis was exited to roam about in the streets. That was until they reached Vivienne Westwood’s display of Luna’s wedding dress. Six expected him to think about everything that was supposed to be but the look on Noctis’ face; it broke her heart.
Sure, Six had lost a lot in the days past but she was used to it. Used to the pain of loss. Noctis though. She couldn’t even look at him without trying to get into his shoes. The pain he must’ve been feeling. Losing a loving father, a home; being drawn into a destiny he knew nothing about. He was afraid, damn, he was petrified but he never let it show. He remained strong, for his friends. For Luna. And Six couldn’t be more proud of him!
Altissia was also the home of an old friend. Weskham Armaugh. Six hadn’t seen Wes since after Accordo, and “Damn, you look old buddy” was the first thing she thought when they reached Maagho.
After a good meal by the hands of her old friend and a good night’s sleep after a long while, the company was ready to face Altissia's first secretary, Camelia Claustra, for further negotiations.
Noctis agreed with Claustra’s plan to provide four of his company to the people of the city. They were divided into two teams and helped with the evacuations. Gladio and Prompto managed to protect and evacuate the people of Altissia they had under their supervision and Six and Ignis were handling their own.
That was until Leviathan went on a rampage. Injuring both Luna and Noctis in doing so.
Luna helped Noctis call upon the Kings of old for help; something that had Six’s magic going crazy and drawing her to them for help. It was her duty after all. Though in order to run to her king’s side she had to leave her best friend behind.
After a swift move of her arm the magitek assassin fell on his knees. He tried to get up and charge at her again but Six dropped her sword and sliced his head from his shoulders and down at her feet, only to kick it over and move on to the next one. On her left, Ignis was fighting his own battle, using every bit of style he had in doing so. Finesse was something that characterized his way of fighting. In contrast to Six’s style of asking questions later, Ignis was using his head first when it came down to fighting or anything really.
“What now?” Six asked after looking the next hoard of Magitek soldiers that were coming their way.
“We need to find the others.” Ignis threw a magic flask at the front line troops, slowing them down.
When Six didn’t answer he turned to look at her. She was just standing there. Clenching at her sword for dear life, looking at the direction of the huge fight that was taking place between the Hydraen and Noctis. She was fixated on it and Ignis tried everything to snap her out of it; with no result.
“Noct’s in trouble!” she almost screamed at him.
“Go! I’ll take care of our guests.”
“Ign-“
“Go!” he yelled and she let her magic bound lead her to the young king. Swinging her sword right and left with all her power and using any kind of magic she could summon, unaware of the deep cut across her collarbone, she managed to reach them. Luna was protecting an unconscious Noctis, not caring of her own fatal wound and Leviathan was raising threateningly above them, ready to strike the final blow.
Six threw her weapon and wrapped, standing in between the Astral and the Oracle. With her sword in one hand and blood dripping from the other she spoke “Tell him what he needs to know Lunafreya.”
“Six”
“Tell him. For as long as I’m standing tall; You have all the time in the world.”
Luna lowered her forehead to touch Noctis’ and whispered.
Six raised her bloody arm and her eyes glowed a bright red; calling forth the Titan and unleashing his wrath against Leviathan in order to protect the Chosen King.
Six woke up a couple of days later in the secretary’s estate. She squinted her eyes to help with the headache the sudden light was causing. She rubbed her temples with the fingers of her right hand, only to be surprised to see it burning!
It wasn’t on fire, it looked more like the aftermath of the campfire after it’s been put off; like burning ash. It didn’t hurt her either, but she could feel it covering half her body. She could see it reaching all of her right arm; from the fingers to her neck, but she could also feel it running down from her face to her thigh.
She took in a breath to calm herself. She knew that would happen if she called upon the Astrals. Bahamut had warned her they wouldn’t be able to answer her call without some kind of sacrifice if the One True King was promised their aid.
A small squeeze on her left hand drew her away from her thoughts and a whimper made her turn her attention on a sleeping Gladio by her side. He looked exhausted, but other than that unharmed.
Running her scarred hand through his messy hair, Six let out a breath she didn’t know she was holding in.
Gladio jumped at the touch like a scared cat, ready to fight anything that tried to hurt his precious girlfriend but relaxed almost immediately when he met her loving eyes.
“Hello beautiful!” he smiled; seeing her awake after something like that made him happy.
“Gladdy?” she almost whispered, her voice breaking not only because she hadn’t used it in a while but also from remembering those last moments “What happened?”
“You tell me, my love.” Gladio sat next to her and took her hand in his once more “We found Iggy, got him help and ran to find you and Noct. When we finally reached you, Noct and you were unconscious, Luna was gone and the Titan had vanished with Leviathan taking half of the city with them.”
Six was trying to remain calm but failed miserably “Luna’s gone?”
“I’m sorry baby.” Gladio said sincerely.
“Noct?”
Gladio clenched his jaw but kept a levelled head “The doctor says he’s fine. He’ll wake up soon. You and Iggy got the worst of it.”
When she heard Ignis’ name Six freaked out. The memory of leaving him alone in battle was the only thing flashing before her eyes “Iggy! Where is he? What happened?” Her heart was racing; waiting for Gladio to answer.
“I’ll take you to him.” He said, helping her up from the bed and into her own clothes.
She took off the pair of white pants and top she was wearing; only then was Gladio able to see how far her new scar run. Six herself didn’t need to see it; she was feeling it running through every cell it touched.
Gladio didn’t mean to but he was staring. Concern written all over his face.
“Gladiolus” Six said with a broken voice “It’s rude to stare.”
His full name alone was enough to get his attention, but her voice; it broke his heart. He took another look at her, making sure his gaze didn’t linger on her body longer than it had to and cleared his throat “My love…what…how..?” He didn’t know what to ask her. How to make her feel better. How this wouldn’t turn bad.
Six raised her eyes from the floor and glued them on the figure on the mirror in front of her “I had a friend once. A powerful friend.” She explained “He said they needed help with a serious matter. I agreed to help and in return they provided what I needed. Even their own assistance.”
Gladio listened closely while gently helping her get dressed. He could see her eyes watering; he knew this was important.
“I have a duty to the Astrals; to the world. I’m supposed to stand tall ‘til the One True King defeats the Darkness and its minions. This…” she pointed at her scarred skin “this is what happens when I don’t heed their warnings! I called forth the Titan knowing what it meant; destroying half the city. I paid that price!”
Six turned to look at Gladio; the tears that were forming in her eyes before were now running down her cheeks “How the hell am I supposed to help if I keep paying for it?” she paused for a while, gathering her thoughts “How the hell am I supposed to grow old with you if I don’t know what’s gonna happen to me?” her voice just above a whisper but it was enough to surprise Gladio.
“As Noct gets stronger” she continued, crossing her arms in front of her chest “I grow weaker; and that’s supposed to be a good thing.” She smiled while streams of tears continued to come down her face “Believe me, I get it! I want him to succeed. I want him to give future to the ones who want to see it but… I find myself wanting to see it too!” at this point she was crying uncontrollably; Gladio ran at her side. Taking her into his arms and trying to calm her; humming to her, running his hand through her hair, kissing the top of her head. Simply being there for her!
He kept holding her for a few more minutes and the sound of his heartbeat finally had her calm down a bit. Enough so she could continue “What happens when he succeeds Gladio? Do I get to live and see a future? Am I free; or do all those years or roaming Eos finally catch up with me and I disappear with the Astrals?”
“Babe, look at me” Gladio let his hug loosen a bit, just enough for her to be able to look up at him “Whatever the answer to that is; we’ll figure it out. Together!” Gladio’s eyes were piercing hers. A look so sincere, so pure that made Six’s next move so much harder.
“No.” she said and pulled away. Escaping his grasp. His hands moved with her, trying to pull her back close to him, but failed.
“What?” Gladio was surprised by her answer. He knew she felt the same way he did. He also knew she was scared and for the first time in his life, he could admit he was too.
“No.” anger and frustration sounded in her breaking voice “whatever this is” she pointed back and forth at the space between them “it’s not working out! I can’t… I can’t fulfill my duty and be with you. So I won’t do it.” She kept her eyes locked on the floor while talking.
Gladio could practically hear his heart breaking. Though he wasn’t sure if it was his or hers. They were bound by destiny. He knew that much; but what if she was right? What if destiny was just a cruel game and the rules had just changed? “What are you saying?”
“I’m saying… I’m done, Gladio. We’re over! From here on out you are the King’s Shield and I’m his Glaive; like we always have. And that’s that.”
“Six” Gladio reached out to hold her hand, still not believing her. Still not understanding. Not knowing what he was supposed to do to save it.
Six put her jacket on and answered without even looking at him, thinking her eyes would betray her words “Goodbye Gladio.”
She busted out of the room crying her eyes out at what she had just done. She was so focused on her thoughts that she never saw him. She fell on the man with the cane and they both fell flat on their backs with a grunt.
Six grabbed the cane from next to her and got up, hurrying to help the helpless man; only to have her heart drop to the floor next to him. She couldn’t believe what she was seeing “Ignis?” her voice broke in a million little pieces at the sight in front of her.
Ignis was wearing his normal clothes, a pair of dark pants and his grey T-shirt; hair down, sticking on his forehead. Something he rarely did. But that wasn’t what captured her attention. What had her heart breaking was his face; he had bandages covering both his eyes and he was full of bruises.
“Six? Is that you?” he asked concerned.
“Iggy?” she helped him up and cleaned the dust of his shirt “what…?”
“Let’s go for a walk, shall we? It sounds like we have a lot to discuss.”
Ignis and Six went out of the estate in silence. They walked towards a clearing high up the canals where the Cathedral used to stand, only to find its remaining ruins. She helped Ignis walk upon the rubble and sit on what looked like it used to be one of the columns of the building.
Ignis put his cane next to him and cleared his hands from the dust of the column while Six just stood there, looking at what used to be the rest of the city.
“Tell me. What do you see?” Ignis asked. Voice low, resembling nothing to his old confident self.
“Ruins.” Six answered, folding her arms in front of her chest, thinking this was the outcome of her own decisions.
“Altissia; or yourself?”
Ignis’ words hit her right in the gut. She instantly felt sick; sick of what had happened because of her. Of what had happened to her best friend because of her. Because she abandoned him in his time of need. She turned to look at him, tears in her eyes. “Will you um…” she cleared her throat, despaired to hide her guilt and find the right words “Will you be able to see again?”
“The doctor was not certain.” He answered her calmly “Time heals all wounds. I’m certain my own will not be very different.”
Six walked closer to him, not able to take in his answer. Once she was right in front of him she fell on her knees. Guilt had won the battle inside her and her eyes wouldn’t stop tearing “Iggy; I’m so sorry.” She cried out “I’m so sorry about all of this. I should have stayed with you! I should have-“
“Stop saying you’re sorry.” He carefully placed his hand on her scarred cheek “You did what you had to. You had to protect the Ki-“
“I had to protect my family!” she cut him off, not moving out of his embrace.
“And you did! You did good my dear.” His voice was so proud, like he meant what he said. Like he was proud of the decision she had made “You protected your King. Now he will be able to fulfill his duty. And maybe when he does the world –you- will be free. Maybe you and Gladio, Prompto, Noct and I will be able to grow old and live the lives we are due.”
“I am the reason for all this.” She answered, haunted by his own aspiration of a common future where they’re all happy. Even without his vision. “Why would you be so kind with me? Why aren’t you mad?”
He placed the cane in front of him, between his legs; he placed his hands on the top of it, one covering the other, like an old person ready to give a lecture to some kid. “Because no matter what the legends say, you are still one person. A person I’ve come to care deeply about!” he smiled warmly at her “Six, my dear. You are my best friend! My family. And I’ll be damned to let something that was out of your hands get the best of us.”
Six was crying uncontrollably now, not able to handle his kind words. Her mind ran back at what she had done just a few moments before. How she was the one to give up on her relationship with Gladio and she cried even harder.
“Six?” Ignis asked after a few moments of letting her get it all out. “Prompto informed me of your-“ he cleared his throat “new scars. What are they? His description was vague, to say the least.”
“Did he say it looked like it’s burning?” she asked calmly, looking at her scarred hand.
“Roughly, yes.”
“Well that’s what it is; what it looks like. It’s crystalline scarring, from using a forbidden power. It runs from my face down to my leg. Covering just barely all of my right side.”
“Does it hurt?”
“No. it’s not there to hurt. It’s there to remind me I’m not worthy of the power I called upon.”
“Will-“ Ignis started but was cut off by her answer.
“No. It won’t kill me.”
“Then why leave Gladio?”
Six’s head couldn’t have turned faster “How did you..?”
“Walls are paper thin in an estate like this. I happened to pass by.”
She stayed silent for a second and Ignis tried to get her to talk to him “So?”
“Iggy. I…” she let out a long breath, figuring out a way to express her reasons “Whatever this is and whatever happens after” she stopped, licking her lips, wanting to begin again but knowing she couldn’t “I’ll be damned if I let Gladio go through my death, or even the idea of it. And even if nothing happens and I remain an immortal, I don’t think I’ll be able to watch him die. Even if I have the perfect life with him. His death; it might just be what does me in.” she run her hand through her hair, letting out another long breath “I won’t even comment on how he shouldn’t have to look at these scars of mine.”
She let her head fall once again, defeated by the idea she will one day have to witness all their deaths. She had gone through it before. Raising kids and watch them die, of old age or in battle. She went through it with Crowe, she went through it with Nyx and Clarus, Gladio’s father, and she went through it with Regis. Though the thought of losing Gladio, Ignis, Prompto and Noctis; it had her crumbling to the ground.
Ignis placed his fingers underneath her chin and made her look at him; caressing the burned skin on her face “I think” he said “that no matter the scars each of us now carry, we’re always going to be bound by destiny. I’m always your best friend and you are always mine. And no matter how much you try to save Gladio the trouble, he will always find his way back to you.”
Six looked up at his bandaged face and felt proud, loved, complete. Ignis always knew what to say in every kind of situation.
“Besides,” he continued “who wouldn’t want to be bound with four other psychos, running around Eos, looking for trouble?”
She left a heartfelt laugh and he hugged her. Letting her know it was all going to be alright.
Ignis and Six stayed there for some time longer, hugging each other for dear life.

oracle!au - part ii
it’s time for more oracle!au :D! as always, thanks to @jasperraven for enabling me and whose blog you should visit if you want to read fics written in this au~ also, @goddamnminyard for inspiring the part about mechanic!aulea!
okay, when we left off, tiny oracle had just been released into the world with overprotective papa cor as a guardian
but we are first going through flashbacks because man did sylva, regis and aulea have an interesting life before being tragically cut down okay im shutting up
sylva totally had her own road-trip with a side of fighting in the resistance, alright? her and her girl gang of course. they were going to accordo to strengthen their alliance in the midst of the war against niflheim
her best friend, aulea, whom she met in high school but really got to know when the regalia broke down during her first test drive at sixteen and she was the one to repair it. after all, she’s a mechanic’s only daughter and fell just as hard as her mother for everything cars. tbh, she first fell in love with the regalia and only decided afterwards that sylva was “okay, i guess”. she ended up asking to be trained with sylva’s shield because there was no way she was letting sylva go without her on the frontlines! in battle, she is deadly with a rapier, cutting down anyone in her path.
amy and sylva gave her so much shit when they found out what type of weapons she favoured. they were sure she was going down the same “big fucking sword” road as amy. she got back at them through magical “mishaps” when she was “learning” how to wield sylva’s magic.
the regalia was totally aulea’s wedding present from sylva. all of them knew that it was more aulea’s car than sylva’s at this point~ she was ecstatic as you can believe. the heart attacks she gave regis when she took baby noctis out on drives though! she did not manage to pass on her love of cars to him, but speed? noct is all about it!
then, there is sylva’s shield, amaryllis “amy” amicitia, clarus’ twin sister. both clarus and her were trained as potential shields because it’s tradition that the eldest amicitia become the king/queen’s shield. except it was not possible to make the choice based solely on age in this case. it was decided that the next shield would be the one with the greatest compatibility with sylva, both magic and personality wise, while the other would become a high ranking military official and advisor to sylva. she is a fucking giant, okay? which was useful when she had to pick up one of the other girls to stop them from doing something ridiculous. really, her and gentiana were the most even-tempered of the group. though her and her greatsword are truly and intimidating sight, which was helpful during their travels
she ended up receiving a grievous injury in defense of sylva which left her sterile. this is why iris, clarus’ eldest, ended up becoming luna’s shield. after the wall was shrunk to surround only insomnia, she became sylva’s other advisor alongside her brother.
and while we’re talking about clarus, he also ended up travelling for a while, which is when he met his future wife, who is a power plant worker. however, she continues to work in lestallum and the children mostly live with clarus with occasional visits. when gladio ended up showing interest in hunting, he moved to lestallum and started training as a hunter around there to supplement his father's training and then started to move around eos
camelia claustra, another friend of sylva whom she met during one of the many political parties she had to attend. she comes from a family of politicians and is seen by everyone as a strong candidate for a high position in the government, maybe even first secretary, when she gets more experience. she meets sylva in secret when she can to organize the resistance’s next attacks and to talk politics in order to gain an advantage over niflheim.
she does keep contact with aulea after lucis falls back because they are both in “nifl” territory (accordo and tenebrae) though it’s much more difficult with sylva
and finally, gentiana, who will later become known as “the immortal” for her prowess in battle. she was recruited by the former commander of what would turn out to become the crownsguard. she wields a katana in battle and her strategic mind was a key element in keeping everyone safe during the bigger battles.
regis was not without his share of adventures though
he was one of the most rebellious of the oracles tbh. he did not think that his role was to passively keep the scrouge at bay while staying safe in tenebrae, a belief his parents tried to instill in him and one of the reasons why their country lost some of its hard gained independence during his father’s reign. despite not being acknowledged as the oracle at the time and not having access to his full powers, he went on tours to help those afflicted by the scrouge. it was also the occasion for him to travel the world a little. he mostly used swords and magic during his travels, having sought training from guards and hunters when he could while growing up so that he did not have to solely rely on magic.
it was in accordo that he met weskham, who would become one of his best friends yet. seeing that weskham was originally a tattoo artist, that’s when he started developing a passion for them. nobody would believe the many designs hidden under the oracle’s formal clothes~ he mostly used guns in battle and was the one to make sure everybody actually ate, what with regis’ and cid’s tendency to get lost in whatever they’re doing at the time.
he stayed in contact with regis and regularly visited him. he was pretty much a uncle to noct growing up, but could not be there as often as he wanted due to niflheim’s surveillance and restrictions after regis and aulea’s death. noctis does still visit him during his oracle tours, and weskham tries to be there for the biggest festivals in tenebrae where the oracle plays a significant role.
cid became another one of his friends when they met in one of the lucian towns afflicted with the starscrouge. fighting daemons together does create bonds after all. he teamed up with regis and co after that during regis’ tour. it was during that time that he started modifying weapons, with some “interesting” results in the beginning. after regis’s father died in the middle of one of the tours and he officially became oracle, cid ended up going back to lucis and founding hammerhead due to cars being his true passion. as you can imagine, him and aulea got on really well~
he also kept into contact with regis, mainly with letters sent via regis’ messengers and occasional visits. and just like weskham, tried to be there for noctis when he could
cid also adopted prompto as a child after regis and co saved him from daemons (more about that later!)
and to finish, they did journey for a while with clarus, who was on his own training trip. really, just like in canon, he is there to keep regis out of trouble which he cannot help but seek. it’s exhausting really.
like for the other members of regis’ “crew”, he keeps in contact via messengers, though it’s impossible for him to visit seeing that he is in insomnia and sylva’s advisor
one last thing about regis, his messengers are hawks, and not dogs. new messengers are born at the same time as the oracle they will serve and will be taught by the previous oracle’s messengers. in that way, power and knowledge grow with each new oracle that is born. most of the time, they die at the same time as their oracle except if the last of the oracle’s power is used to preserve them. of course, cor is an exception to all of that, seeing that he voluntarily joined the lucis caelum household at the time of noct’s birth. his origins are actually a mystery to regis~
as said earlier, noct is basically raised by cor after his parents’ deaths and was inducted at a young age as the oracle
it was during one of his first tours that he heard about galadh being overrun by the starscrouge and he decides to go there in spite of it technically being in lucis
when a gralean official learn about his plans and tell him that it is not possible, he tells them in his gentlest voice while cor is looming behind him that the territories surrounding insomnia are now part of niflheim, and seeing that tenebrae is also considered part of niflheim, it would be fine to go there, right?
of course they end up agreeing with him because they’re terrified of cor and they’ve received orders from higher up. the oracle is to be kept out of gralea as much as possible, and if that’s impossible, he is to be given what he asks for (within reason) to make him go away. noct milks that for all it’s worth and ends up getting free accommodations and transport in niflheim territory in spite of being around 8-9 at the time (regis and aulea’s influences shining through)
though, you know how gentiana uses her powers to photobomb the chocobros? cor uses them in a much more sinister way by appearing in the corner of gralean officials’ eyes and showing up for an instant on security footage to, ah, reinforce the message to leave noctis the fuck alone!!!
it works marvelously
finally, noct can be on his way and heal the galahdians, including nyx, who swears to become his knight and serve him
oh boy, nyx doesn’t know what he signed up for (everytime he hears nyx complaining about some ridiculous shit that noctis has pulled, he always laughs and point out that he was literally the one to hire himself as noctis’ guard. and “employee”? pffffttt, as if he was just that)
first of all, the first thing noct asks him is to call him “noct”. it takes nyx an embarrassingly long time to go from “your royal highness” to “noctis” to “noct” XD
and he’s so blasé by the time he finds out that noctis makes niflheim pay for nearly everything during his tours that he is not even surprise. he has accepted by this point that his boss casually pulls things like those and the only way to avoid a heart attack is to get used to it
eventually, nyx is the one to design the Oracle’s Knights uniform, seeing that he is the one that founded them (he is stunned when noct first tells him that)
now, nyx started his training as a galahdian warrior young under his father’s tutelage before he was killed in battle
after he joins noctis’s “entourage”, cor is actually the one to continue his training thanks to his experience and the time he spent on eos. it’s supplemented with the occasional mission with hunters so that he can gain fighting experience.
cor would never admit it on pain of death but he was totally jealous when nyx became the oracle’s first knight, seeing that he got used to being the one to protect his starchild
it takes noctis a few days to understand the root of his guardian’s “mood” and he confronts him in private about it. when cor notices that it’s something important, he kneels to put himself closer to noct’s level. which is when teeny oracle tells him point blank with no embarrassment whatsoever that nyx being with them does not mean he loves cor any less before kissing him on the cheek.
(the straightforwardness definitely comes from cor)
cor is confused and does not know how to answer and his chest feels weirdly warm (that’s called happiness, cor). he finally realizes that he got attached and that feelings, unfortunately or not, are catching.
the first time nyx go on a mission, noctis gives him one of his earrings (which have been in his family for a long time and that his father had given to his mother as an engagement present), with the implied promise that he will always have to come back to noctis to give it back one day.
this is followed by nyx giving him one of the charms his sister made, so that noctis too will always come back to nyx
it’s after one of those missions that noctis half-jokingly asks him what he wants, what with him never having asked for anything during all of those years
nyx not-so-jokingly answers “to be closer to you” which stuns noctis until he rewords it as “to be bonded with you in a way similar to the lucian crownsguard” to save face, which noctis accepts bemusedly (@jasperraven ;D)
it sends him on a research spree with the help of cor, during which he finds out about his ancestors having forged some of the nox’s royal arms. but the account of the oracle having forged the scepter of the pious is the most interesting
and it gives him an idea about how to channel his power through nyx using a piece of himself as a focus in order to always be able to find nyx in both astral and mortal realms magic-wise
really, he is always channeling power through himself and he can feel that he has lot more power than necessary to keep the starscrouge at bay. using it to strengthen nyx would not be a burden at all. it would also go well with an idea he’s had for a while
they all head to accordo to visit weskham, and noctis asks him to tattoo both of them. mixing each other’s blood in the ink would allow noctis to create a bond between them and to share his power by giving nyx access to a part of himself and thus access to his power
for the tattoos, noctis’ is on his back and represents a fish (because of course) similar to a siamese fighting fish with its flowing fins blending into sylleblossoms
whereas nyx’s is more simple and represents sylleblossoms climbing up his wrist, so that he can always see it/touch it for strength
to be continued in part iii~

LuNoct Pregnancy and Kids Headcanons
- The they would wait 3 years before they decide to try for a baby, using these years to spend as much time with each other as possible, not willing to share each others full attention with anyone
- When they talk about seriously thinking of having a child soon, they get lots of “tips” and advices about how long it may take to actually get pregnant and what might help to get pregnant faster and sometimes they are so damn confused about what to take seriously and what not
- A month and a half after they seriously started trying to get pregnant, Luna has to leave for a full month because of Oracle-dutys. So when just two weaks later, Noctis gets informed by a servant that Luna just came back, he storm out of a meeting - without saying a word about the reason - in full panic because his imagination starts to run wild. Luna would never ever leave her dutys sooner then necessary without a good reason. So maybe she is ill? Hurt? Got attacked? When he finds her she looks fine, but he still asks her if anything bad had happened. She just smiles at him telling him she just came back because they both agreed (although Luna needed a bit more convincing) that she would not work as an Oracle as long as she is pregnant, for what weakens her, might very well hurt the baby too. Noctis didn’t get it at first, wondering what this has to do with her coming back home. As answer for his confused face he gets the happiest smile from Luna he ever got from her and he finally realized, that despite the warning it would takes months to get pregnant, Luna was expecting their first child
- Noctis is far to worried and overprotective listening to basically every bullshit people are telling him about the things you should or shouldn’t do when you are expecting a child. Most of the time Luna is just amused. She goes along with it when it sounds reasonable, but refuses if it sounds stupid to her or would force her to do things she just doesn’t want to do. She definitely draws a line when Noctis says people told them having sex while being pregnant is dangerous. Because damn it, but this pregnancy did not just make her damn needed, she is also really sensitive and the smallest touch can make her want more - much more. Noctis isn’t exactly complain, although it takes a bit of urging from Luna to not treat her like she is made of glass and any wrong movement would break her.
- The first month of the second trimester is pretty hard on Luna, because what people call “morning sickness” tortures her basically every time of the day and almost every day. There are just a few kinds of foods and drinks she keeps inside and it is not always the stuff people who are pregnant actually need. Luna almost had to go to the hospital because she got so weak. Noctis would refuse to leave the citadel in that time, making some people angry about his priorities while other people think it is awfully adorable how much their king loves his queen. Anyway, the problem solves itself shorty after the first month of the second trimester is over.
- Luna doesn’t like to just sit around, so when Noctis made her promise to not leave Insomnia through her pregnancy and not do her dutys as Oracle, but only as Queen, he also had to promise her that he would always have something useful to do for her. And whenever he does not, she comes to his office and absolutely no work will be done at all because how can someone work with his pretty wife around? Ignis decides to make it his job to give Luna useful stuff to do, after Noctis was barely working one week, enjoying it far too much that Luna was constantly around him.
- They first child is a healthy girl named Dawn. Luna was in labor full 24 hours. Noctis stood at her side as he promised, but left every now and then for a little walk - of course only with her permission.- because he could hardly take it anymore to see his Luna being in pain and hearing her screaming. After this experience, Noctis is unsure if they really should get a second child one day and if Luna would be willing to go through all that again.
- Luna was worried Noctis would be unhappy about his first child being a girl, but Noctis is over the moon and adores his little princess. And she turns out to be just like him in looks and behavior. Dawn is loved and adored by everyone, spoiled to no end by her “uncles” and especially loved by her uncle Prompto who made enough photos of her in the first 3 years to fill an album with only her pictures every year.
- Dawn has a playmate. Her uncle Gladio and his Girldfriend accidentally got pregnant almost at the same time as Luna and Noctis. Gladios only son loves to play “swordfight” with Dawn at the age of 2 - of course using sticks for now.
- When Dawn is 3 years old, Luna suddenly starts talking about a second child and after making sure, Luna is not just trying with all her might to give him a son, they agree to try for another baby, having a wonderful excuse to spend more time with doing it for a full year, because that is the amount of time it takes them to get pregnant again.
- Lunas pregnancy goes almost too well this time, with both Noctis and Luna knowing what to do and what to expect this time and no killer-morning-sickness.
- Noctis wanted to tell Dawn immediately after Luna told him she would not be able to go to one of her Oracle-dutys the next moth, because she was with child, but Luna warned him of all the risks and that they should not have Dawn hope until the dangerous part of the pregnancy was over. Talking about the possibility something could go wrong almost drives Noctis back to being overprotective but Luna can calm him down.
- Dawn is pretty interested in everything to do with the Baby growing inside her mommy, as soon as she knows, being almost more exited when the Baby kicks then Noctis.
- Things take a bad turn when Luna collapses in pain in the middle of the celebrations of a huge holiday in Insomnia. She is in labor almost 5 weeks to early.
- After just 6 hours of awful pain Luna gives birth to a very weak Baby-boy, who’s life is on the line for a full month
- While Noctis and Luna are busy being with the Baby, thinking they might only have little time with their Son Lucifer, the boys try to keep Dawn busy. Prompto takes her shopping, but the almost 5 year old girl is not so much into shopping and buying pretty dresses or shoes. Ignis cookes her her favorite sweets - which is the one Noctis ate in Teneabrea so many years ago - and tells her a story about her parents, which at first makes her interested but the worried, because she had hardly seen them for days and no on is really willing to tell her what is going on. Gladio and his son finally start sword-fight-traing with her, with a real wooden-sword. That keeps her occupied for a few hours a day.
- After two weeks, with the Baby getting stronger but still not being out of danger people force Luna and Noctis to take turns with the baby so that at least one of them can sleep for a while. Luna is using the time to reading storys to Dawn until they both fall asleep in Dawns bed. Noctis just can’t fall asleep at first so he goes fishing with his daughter, who proves that she definitely inherited Noctis interest in and talent for fishing, with both of the falling asleep after coming home with lots of fish.
- Lucifer survives but will remain rather weak for the rest of his life. Coming after his mother, he is a rather spiritual person and more mentally a fighter than physically so it is not like he is not strong at all.
- Lucifer lives a rather isolated life since there are no kids his age in the citadel. Luna thinks it would be good for him and Dawn to visit a public school like Noctis did, so they can find more friends. Noctis is not so happy about this idea, because he fears being around too many other kids won’t be good for Lucifer since he catches illnesses from other people rather quick and Noctis is pretty overprotective when it comes to his son. Luna still manages to convince him, but their son will stay rather isolated and only find a few close friends in school and it will take him years.
- When their Son is 5 Noctis and Luna go to visit a far away city for political reasons, they have one day off their and enjoying it to the fullest, ending with them on a pretty lake in a far to close embrace in a far to tempting situation to not give in to this one time without using contraception leading to Luna calling him two months later when she is once again on Oracle-dutys, telling him she is with child again. After surpassing the surprise they are happy about that pregnancy but swear that this will be the last one. Really.
- This time, Dawn is not so happy about it, remembering what happened when her mother gave birth to Lucifer and worrying that something like this happens again. Lucifer himself is jealous to no end. He is really possessive when it comes to sharing his mother attention and is even having a hard time sharing Luna with his sister and his father, he does not exactly want another child to steal her attention away from him.
- This time, Luna and Noctis just live on their live only making the necessary adjustments to make sure Luna is not overworking herself and she won’t be too far from Insomnia, in case something goes wrong. They just don’t have the time to pause their busy lives for this baby, but they of course would never want it to take any harm from anything Luna does or does not, they are just not that super careful anymore.
- Promptos and Ignis Girlfriends are giving birth a few moths before and after Luna, so that when Luna gives birth to a healty baby girl with the name Stella after hardly 3 hours of labor, she feels relieved to know that Stella would not be as lonely and isolated as Lucifer.
- Dawn was pretty disappointed when Prompto married, because she was sure she would someday marry him.
