okay i completely forgot abt this post and then my computer crashed when i was halfway thru writing this reblog so thats super cool 😎 also i know i said mcyt but my only developed thoughts are about dsmp members LMAO

this became a massive post whoops hehe readmore time

- benchtrio live together in an old beat up food truck. it doesn't run and the tires are half-buried in the sand, but tubbo swears he'll get it working someday. none of them can drive lol

- tommy was born in the city, but he escaped with wilbur when he was relatively young (8-9 or so). he remembers relatively little of his life in the city since being medicated for most of his life fucked with his perception a bit, but he still knows wilbur as his brother and never strays too far from him.

- ranboo’s parents were waveheads and he was born/grew up in the far outer zones. he has a lot of weird radiation effects that are not at all realistic but you know what else is unrealistic? laser guns. anyway. he has patches of like scarred/darkened skin (a callback to his mc skin) but he usually wears a mask and goggles bc his skin/eyes are very sensitive and he feels like his general appearance freaks people out sometimes.

- tubbo was also born in the zones. despite swearing up and down that he’ll fix it, he is one of the main reasons the truck doesn’t run as he keeps taking part of it to build explosives with. his face and chest are riddled with blaster burn scars after a run-in with a group of draculoids.

- sbi (minus tommy of course) are drifters, they don’t tend to stay in one place too long. wilbur always likes to stay relatively close to tommy, but they’ll settle wherever there’s safe shelter

- wilbur orchestrated his and tommy’s escape alone. he planned it for nearly a year, attempting to wean himself and his brother off their medication over time without getting caught. he nearly died getting to the city borders, and he and tommy were found and taken in by phil and techno. he dyes a “white” streak in his hair, though that color often hovers around yellow/orange. toner is hard to come by in the zones, unless you feel like selling an arm and a leg. with some shops, that might be literal, too.

- techno was born in the zones and has kept his hair pink since he was a kid. his roots are almost always showing (see above statement about toner, this applies to bleach and hair dye as well). he’s well known for being able to take down hordes of dracs and is one of the most wanted killjoys in the zones. while good with a blaster, he much prefers the modified rocket launcher that he built himself.

- nobody knows jack shit about phil. where he’s from, how old he is, nothing. this includes technoblade, despite him knowing the guy for LITERAL YEARS. being an older ‘joy is relatively uncommon, either nature or the exterminators usually take you out by 30, so the old man jokes are still very much warranted despite phil probably being around the same age as he is irl.

- the dteam were once zonerunners, but were captured and rehabilitated by bli. they now serve as elite dracs/exterminators and their faces are always covered, but their uniforms are designed in such a way that everyone knows they’re that group of ‘joys that went missing a few years back. bli wants everyone to know.

- dream is obsessed with taking down everyone he knew as a killjoy. he thinks that if he destroys all connection to his past life, he’ll prove himself to bli as the best exterminator the city has ever seen. in reality, this obsession makes him unstable, and bli is keeping a close eye on him. he has no idea, but his former best friends are prepared to take him out of commission at a moment’s notice.

- don’t ask me about killjoy names i have no idea. igns could work but not for everyone and any names i’ve come up with feel stupid and AAAA

man this accidentally turned into an essay 🤪 anyway if i could draw it would be over for u bitches and this would be the coolest au period. if anyone has any post apocalyptic/steampunk themed picrews i might be able to throw some “concept art” together!! now that it’s all written out i’m actually really invested in this au. if anyone wants to know more i will cry. and also. yknow. tell u what u want to know
