Katniss is such an unreliable narrator. She says "Then something unexpected happens. At least, I don't expect it because I don't think of District 12 as a place that cares about me" girl you deliver strawberries to the Mayor, you hunt and trade for the district, when you fell at Prim being chosen someone caught you, when you went to Prim people parted for you, when you volunteered EVERYONE stopped. Idk how to tell you but I think you're a pillar of the community.

I will never get over Gale’s stupid ass thinking that Finnick wanted Katniss at the beginning of Mockingjay, when the entire time that man was breaking down and longing for Annie. Like the whole reason Katniss and Finnick became close friends was their joined love and longing for Peeta and Annie who were both imprisoned in the capital together.

Catching Fire really is just 439 pages of Katniss being unhinged about how much she loves Peeta without realizing she's in love with him.

I just love how Katniss and Peeta’s “someone who match my freak” moment was the whole who can piss off more the Gamemakers in CF. Like Katniss knew damn well Peeta did something rebellious during his session, and was like “oh bet? Okay watch this” and proceeded to do that by hanging a doll with “Seneca Crane” written on it.

And when Peeta and Katniss found out what the other did, they couldn’t have been more proud and secretly happy about it. All while those around them was like “uhmm wtf .Just why?” And one of the best parts is afterwards, Katniss and Peeta proceeded to hug each other lovely and sleep together. Like okay purrr? This is y’all freaks?? Pissing off brutal, authoritarian-totalitarian regimes, right in front of their faces. Ight.

Knowing that Peeta's first memory of Katniss had her SINGING a SONG and Katniss' first memory of Peeta had him BURNING BREAD? Aughw maybe I'm losing my mind but what if Suzanne invented the toasting based off of Katniss and Peeta's first moments and not the other way around. What if the entire D12 wedding ceremony was created for the sole purpose of solidifying the idea that Katniss and Peeta have been spiritually married since they were 11. What if it's all always been about them. What then

Katniss in the first book is so funny because beyond her being absolutely wrong in nearly every assumption she has of Peeta. Every other chapter she’s like “two can play that game” about him being deceptive and then she utterly fails at it.

Hot take maybe but Katniss aiming her bow at Peeta when he grabbed his knife after the rule change was revoked was a natural human response that most people would have in those circumstances, and it was Peeta's actions (immediately throwing his knife into the lake and telling her to kill him) that weren't normal
