Some notes on Chitra 💎🍡🐅
The 14th Nakshatra. It’s ruled by Mars and is the bridge between sidereal Virgo and Libra. Being contained between 23.20 degrees Virgo and 6.40 degrees Libra.
Deity: Tvastar the celestial architect
Their symbol is a Jewel/Pearl. Some sources would say it’s symbolized as a diamond as well. Their yoni is a female tiger.
This can apply to Sun, moon, Ascendant, lagnesh or Atmakaraka in Chitra. Honorable mention ketu in Chitra.
Here are some observations I’ve made about them:
↠ They look good on camera.
↠ Usually have thick defined eyebrows.
↠ They’re one to obsess over their appearance in a very thorough way.
↠ They have round eyes that look glossy like marbles. Their face is heart shaped.
↠ At a certain point they learn people like looking at them; as many find them physically attractive. They’re not one hide away from that gaze of others, but embrace the attention that comes with being attractive.
↠ They love attention and being the center of things.
↠ They hate having body hair. Many opt to getting laser: permanent hair removal. Ironically enough a lot of them tend to be genetically very hairy.
↠ Even Chitra men hate having body hair. My Chitra guy friend used to shave his legs and I thought it way so weird for a (straight) guy to do that??.😭
↠ Chitra women are thicc. They usually have full hips and big butt.
↠ Fun fact: when I used to do astrology readings , I offered a reading where I’d describe your physical appearance based on your birth chart , and literally every single person who bought that reading had Chitra Sun, moon or ascendant. Mainly ascendant though.
↠ They are good at orchestrating drama. They highkey love drama.
↠ They live for controversy/ creating controversy
↠ Being the conductor of the drama then being the one to try to fix it , is a classic Chitra trope to me.
↠ They actually have a masterful talent of orchestration of drama but never get caught or blamed for it.
↠ They know how to be manipulative of social narratives. They know how to act or say things in order to get a certain reaction from others.
↠ This why they make good lawyers, bc during prosecution you have to make the defendant person look guilty through power of suggestion & insinuation. And put that seed of doubt in the jury’s mind based on their line of questioning. Basically indirectly accusing them without saying it directly.
↠ They’re naturally passive aggressive. They can display the mask of cordiality but secretly plot of someone’s downfall.
↠ They can poke and prod people to get an emotional or angry emotion out of them.
↠ A lot of them are very critical and judgmental. They can be judgmental towards family members especially.
↠ One thing I’ve see with Chitra that no one ever talks about is how good they are at predicting social trends. They usually know about /do something a few years before it’s popular.
↠ I sense they’re good at trend forecasting since Libra naturally has Aquarius in their 5th house. 5th house= talents, Aquarius= the future. So they have a talent for predicting the future.
↠ Two examples of this:
↠ #1 Kim Kardashian (who has Chitra Sun) and her affinity for social media was ahead of its time. Her long-hair-bbl-aesthetic was arguably the first prototype in the copy paste look you see on Instagram.
↠ Also when I watched KUWTK , in a 2012 episode she had a selfie book, and would take selfies with a mini LED light attached to her DSLR camera. Now it’s the norm to have mini lighting equipment in your purse. But she had that even before iPhones were that mainstream.
↠ #2 Soulja Boy (who has Chitra moon) is a known pioneer with music artists/social media. He was one of the 1st to have an online image as a rapper / go viral /have a viral dance for a hit song etc. Basically that formula is the mainstream strategy for success in the music industry in present day. But he did all that in like 2008 before iPhones/IG/tiktok etc.
↠ They will thrive in any career where you have to curate the aesthetics of something. Being a stylist, decorator, image consultant are all very Chitra-like.
↠ These natives are good at making money. Any Chitra person I’ve known IRL is good at money management or they are wealthy. 💰
↠ They’re good at party planning or event planning.
↠ I’ve also seen this be a successful social media influencer Nakshatra. They will post on socials and in a relatively “short” time gain a lot of engagement/followers etc.
↠ They seem to be always on the pulse of social trends/ pop culture etc
↠ They love dressing up as different personas, they are good at impersonating people. They like to personify different cultures through their aesthetic.
↠ They attract very aggressive people as partners.
↠ Libra naturally has their 7th house in Aries so they attract people with Martian energy. Aggressive, straightforward, blunt, controlling.
↠ They have a spouse that is a different ethnicity than them. Likely to be in an interracial relationship.
↠ A lot of them are very intelligent and get high marks in school, some even be valedictorian, magna cumlaude, summa cumlaude etc.
↠ Many get involved in politics or law.
↠ They are social climbers
↠ They love to argue.
↠ The especially like bantering. They’ll be sports commentators, podcaster, fashion critic, pop culture critic, etc.
↠ They get over things quickly. They don’t dwell on the past and let that hold them back from future endeavors. They’re always trying to achieve something new.

ᯓ★ SHOTARO
Since you were a trainee, you were quite popular among the other trainees in the company because of the way you carried yourself, so it was no surprise when you became quite popular after debuting. Shotaro had heard about you and how well you danced, but he had never had the chance to see it in person.
It was during an award show that he was left amazed by your performance. Without realizing it, he was watching you dance with his mouth slightly open.
"Wow, she’s good," he would whisper as he stood up to applaud you.
ᯓ★ EUNSEOK
Since you debuted, you had managed to catch people's attention because of your appearance. But not just that, you also became popular through several viral clips where people found your personality amusing and your nonsensical jokes entertaining. This is why you had caught Eunseok's attention for quite some time. You both were in the same company, so you had exchanged a few words now and then. It was when you were both invited to a variety show that it became evident how much Eunseok admired you, as he couldn’t stop smiling at you and laughing at your jokes, even if they weren’t actually funny.
"Oh, Eunseok finds everything y/n says funny…" one of the MCs remarked upon noticing, to which he just let out a small laugh.
ᯓ★ SUNGCHAN
It could be said that Sungchan had a kind of platonic crush on you, as you had caught his attention the first time he saw you in the company’s halls. You were in one of the hallways, sitting on the floor while drinking water, resting after two hours of continuous practice. When you noticed Sungchan approaching, you quickly got up and greeted him. He stood there staring at you, confused, until after a few seconds, he realized who you were.
"Ah… you’re from the new group that just debuted, right?"
"Yes, my name is y/n," you introduced yourself.
After exchanging a few words with him, you were called back to the practice room.
"I’ll support you, fighting!" Sungchan said with a smile. And, well, he did. From that day on, it became a habit for him to send you some drinks and snacks to the practice room, although you were confused since they didn’t say who they were from.
ᯓ★ WONBIN
Wonbin was surprised to see you in person for the first time in the rehearsal room. He knew who you were because you had debuted before him, but he had never had the chance to see you in person. Now, you were scheduled to do a stage together. Both of you were the centers of your groups, so they had asked you to dance a duet together.
At first, Wonbin didn’t talk much, as he was initially very shy, plus he was a big fan of yours, so he respected you a lot. He couldn’t believe he was going to share a stage with you. In truth, he was very excited, but he didn’t want to seem like a crazy fan in front of you, so he just glanced at you from time to time. Something you found very endearing was when he gave you a letter and a gift after the stage, as a form of gratitude.
ᯓ★ SEUNGHAN
You and Seunghan had known each other since you were trainees, but your friendship wasn’t public to avoid rumors. Even so, Seunghan had recently started developing feelings for you. Of course, he wasn’t going to tell you, as it wouldn’t benefit either of you.
Still, rumors didn’t take long to spread, as the way Seunghan smiled and looked at you during your performance wasn’t casual. He denied the rumors, saying that he just really liked the song (yeah right).
The truth is, he just couldn’t hide his smile when he saw you on stage, so joyful.
ᯓ★ SOHEE
Sohee loved your voice. SM is primarily known for its visuals but also for its vocalists, who are usually very good, and you were one of them. In fact, he was obsessed with an OST you did for a kdrama, which became quite famous. When asked during a livestream about his favorite song at the moment, he didn’t hesitate to respond.
"The song y/n did for Our Memories… Wow, it’s really good. Should I do a cover, Briize?"
And yes, he did. When you messaged him to thank him for doing a cover, he felt like the luckiest and happiest guy in the world.
"We should make a song together sometime!"
ᯓ★ ANTON
Anton is too shy and respectful to approach someone and ask for their phone number, but when he saw you in person for the first time at an award show, he considered it several times. Your waiting rooms were next to each other, so you crossed paths several times in the hallway. Although it was only for a few seconds, Anton couldn’t help but look at you, even blushing a little.
The other members had noticed how shy Anton became when you were around, so when you won the award for Song of the Year, they decided to give Anton a bouquet of flowers for him to hand to you. As you came down from the stage, he timidly approached you and gave them to you while congratulating you on winning the award, to which you thanked him with a smile. Oh, it was the best day of his life.

Late night groove
A/N: okay so this post may or may not be self-indulgent... but oh well, it just came to mind as I was scrolling through Tik Tok and I was like 'why not' lol. AnyWAYS i hope you enjoy, the other characters are still a work in progress but ill post them when I find the motivation and ideas for their scenarios.
charaters in this post: Caleb, Zayne
T/W: None, unless its maybe second-hand embarrassment lol.
word count: 888, all under the cut enjoy :D
Who hasn't accidentally stayed up too late doom scrolling on their phone only to have a mini concert with all the sounds you’ve saved and favorited on the app you've been scrolling? Well once again you've found yourself in the same situation. Alas… you forget that you no longer live completely on your own and that your partner could possibly catch you in your groove… surely not… they're asleep at this time anyways.
Right?
CALEB:
Caleb was having some difficulty staying asleep, as per usual… an irritated grunt leaving his lips as he tosses in his bed for what felt like the hundredth time in the span of ten minutes.
Reluctantly accepting that he wasn't going to sleep anytime soon he would drag himself out of the warm confines of his bed, if he couldn't sleep then he might as well at least do something productive in this time. Tweak some project he was working on or something…
What he did not expect to see was you. Sat on the couch, laptop that was left forgotten at their side with a new presentation from the hunters association about the updated policy and regulations that you were supposed to be reading up on… in favour for your phone that you had been scrolling on for a good hour or two now… perhaps even more, you weren't counting.
Oblivious you come across some sort of edit of a well known actor that had recently starred in a popular show, of course you were less so interested in the edit more so to the song that was playing. It's been trending recently and it has had a lot of edits under it.
You couldn't help but hum along as your upper body moves in time to the beat of the song, it was the type of song you could simply just feel yourself in. Your little impromptu dance, which you were under the impression was not going to be seen by anyone, is interrupted when a poorly stifled laugh cuts through the air.
You freeze absolutely horrid that you've been caught, slowly turning around feeling your face heat up in embarrassment knowing that you were caught doing something you weren't expecting to be seen doing. Of course Caleb could only stare back at you with a wide smug grin stretching across his face.
Oh yeah he was totally going to use this against you someday you just know it…
ZAYNE:
You’ve been trying to limit your screen time recently, after your partner had recently talked to you over his concerns about you losing sleep due to the blue light from screens as well as the potential for eye strain. Admittedly you have actually done quite well this week… granted that was also due to the fact that your job was keeping you busy enough to not give you the time to spend that much time on your phone.
Alas… you couldn't resist, it was your day off. What's some evening social media scrolling going to do anyway, right? Oh how naive you were…
Hours go by like minutes as you get sucked into the endless scroll of post after post. A brain rot video, a shopping haul, some pointless drama. Post after post, you don't notice how long you've been scrolling for…
Eventually you start to come across some fan edits of different actors from a show both you and Zayne have been watching recently scrolling through the comments and such. You come across a particular catchy song that's been trending recently. You hum along to it quietly before eventually before you realise it you're scrolling through edits lip syncing to the songs as if you were the one in these edits.
Meanwhile, Zayne has just arrived home after a particularly gruelling shift at the hospital, having to take much longer on a surgery to endure that it was a success. He was under the impression that given how late he had arrived home you would already be asleep.
Much to his surprise when he enters the bedroom there he sees you, lip syncing your heart out, your face being illuminated by the short flashes of an edit playing… It was a rather amusing sigh he had to admit but that didn't do much to stop him from frowning slightly with an exhausted sigh.
Hearing the sigh you pause, the edit is still quietly playing in the background but you're no longer lip syncing… you could feel the weight of embarrassment weighing heavily on your shoulders when you realise you've just been caught, not only staying up late on your phone once again… but lip syncing… oh the cringe was quiet strong with this as the silence wore on between you two.
Without another word Zayne would simply shed off his clothes, setting his glasses on the nightstand before reaching for your phone and setting it to charge. Then he would carefully wrap his arms around you snuggling up in bed, his nose pressed against the top of your head as he tiredly mumbles “It's late my darling, how about you sleep before you continue your performance?”
You knew for a fact that this moment would now forever be locked in the vault of embarrassing moments that would play in your head when you try to go to sleep for sure…

There was no Weirdmageddon (Pt2)
By Billietherock
Chapter 1 (part 1) - Stanford Pines
Stanford Pines is a scientist living alone in Gravity Falls, Oregon. This statement seems inconsequential, stating a name and a place. If I were to even go into greater detail, like mentioning how he was in his late 20s, and he was very intelligent, so intelligent in fact that he bordered on the edge of insanity. That one false thought in the wrong direction would tip him into a spiral, that wouldn’t matter. His stubbornness, passion for what he loves, and awkward mannerisms don’t matter.
What matters is that he is Stanford Pines, and his fate is to bring a demon into the small town of Gravity Falls.
And based on his all-nighters, he may have begun to figure this out, his eyes so delirious from lack of sleep that his numbers and calculations started to blend together but this, this is the exact mindset that the demon is looking for.
The demon known as Bill Cipher started to enter Stanford’s dreams, tempting him with answers to his questions and what’s more his theories. At this point, Stanford has been communing with the demon for a while now, to the point where he can see Bill’s shape when he closes his eyes. A yellow triangle with one massive eye and gangly black limbs, arms way too long for the rest of his body. Ford’s eyes even began to sting since, as his assistant has pointed out, sometimes Bill likes to hang around in his head for a little to long.
At this point, the demon will take over Ford’s mind, after a deal is made in the mind space. Ford and his twin brother Stanley would activate a machine, one that Bill has tricked him into building. Ford would spend the better part of his life in a dimension of nightmares, only being freed by his grand niece and nephew. His grand niece would be tricked by Bill into kickstarting the apocalypse and at this point, most of the Pines family would be dead. This would be the day that a decision would be made. This is the fate the universe intends.
For now, Stanford takes a rare break, drinking black coffee on the porch of the small cabin watching as the sun hangs in the sky, unknown to him, the universe hangs in the balance, and Ford holds the final stone.
Stanford rubs the bridge of his nose, right where his glasses sit, even when taking a well-deserved break he feels his work calling to him. It makes it so that he’s hardly able to relax at all. Even the sun seems to be mocking him as the last of its golden rays starts to dip behind the trees. There was never enough time in the day to do everything he wanted to do.
Ford takes a final sip of the lukewarm coffee before pouring the rest out in the grass. He throws the mug on a nearby coffee table with a few other dirty dishes on top. Finally, he grabs his lab coat, hanging on a hook right before the gaping darkness that was the door to his lab.
As he made his way down, he could hear a familiar rustling, his assistant, Fiddleford Mcgucket. He was humming a song that was popular on the radio, tapping his finger lightly as he was analyzing the data from the last time Ford communed with Bill. Normally Stanford would start his own work before the humming almost immediately became too much for him. Then it was either an offhand comment or an irritated grunt and he would stop, but not much more than that.
This time Stanford didn’t mind the humming, he was doing his work elsewhere. In a back room away from most of the technology, Stanford stepped into the ritual room. Runes were etched on the floor, candles were placed in a circle and a single pillow sat ominously in the center. Stuff like this was why Stanford was called insane by most of the science community, there was almost nothing scientific about this, save for a machine in the corner of the room. But in a place like this, the machine stood out like a sore thumb.
Stanford paid no mind to this however, he walked with diligence as he kneels to each of the candles, lighting them one by one to make his connection to Bill stronger. Each candle lit gave Ford a shot of pain in his head, from right behind his eyes it would shoot down his spine, but this was the pain he was more used to.
After the last candle was lit, he sits himself in the middle of the ritual Circle and closes his eyes.
Outside the very last golden ray of the sun dips behind the horizon.
(Thanks for those giving me support! Once again this is a fan project and I hope you enjoy the rest as it comes out. Sorry for an Grammar or spelling mistakes)

Hi. I was thinking about something, i don't know if others have already thought about it. It's about the "taekook subunit" a lot tkkers have been pushing since ages (not gonna lie I would like a VJK subunit, or a song). They said their voices are great together, that they are the most powerful duo etc. But why do I have the feeling that if Taennie for example is confirmed they wouldn't care less about it.
Forget about the vermin. Of course if V confirms his rlship they will dip. Some already did after Paris. Whatever. Fuck them.
What i wanna talk about is that one comment. Taekook Most powerful duo? Are they high?? I know they hate Jimin but they're not the only people who sleep on Jimin. There is a difference between most popular duo and most powerful duo. Are Tkk the most popular members? Sure. Most followers, most views on fancams, yeah, sure. But are they the most powerful duo? Umm... no they're fucking not!
(Mind you, people didn't start getting obsessed with fancams until one of Jimin's fancams got millions of views. Then it became a thing in kpop to want your fav to have the most fancam views)
The most powerful duo is Jimin and Jungkook. End of. And this ain't me being biased. The numbers don't fucking lie. I show that here.
It's the fact that FACE has done nothing but show us the power of Park Jimin and people still be here acting like he ain't a motherfucking king. First of all, let's not sit here and pretend that BTS's popularity wasn't boosted by the fact that they have a Jimin. Alright?
People always getting pressed and trying to ot7 this saying PJMs are acting like solos. That all members are the reason BTS are BTS. Yes, all members bring something to the table but guess what? All kpop groups can sing and dance and most can also write their own music. It takes talent and effort but guess what, it's not unique.
You know what's unique? This.
And This.
And definitely This.
You can sit and deny Jimin has the IT factor but even the members will disagree with you. Even they know the value of Jimin and what he has done for the group.
JK during black swan acknowledging just how lucky they were to have Jimin, a member who studied modern dance in their corner. No one is making this shit up. BST Jimin will always be a Legend
People talking about how Jimin isn't popular worldwide when he's known as the Naruto of Kpop. I know nothing about Anime but I know or the name Naruto. That's the Jimin impact.
When BTS debuted Jimin was the most popular member btw. Go watch their early interviews and see how many fans wanna talk to Jimin when they call. He was the most popular member, easy.
Yeah, JK is the most popular BTS member currently but so is Jimin. We need someone to take a new consensus fr fr coz Jimin pulls numbersssssss.
Shit, why you think haters go so hard on him? They see it. They know it. Park Jimin is IT.
Fullstop.
Oh! One more thing if a JK solo sees this. Y'all need to understand something. Jimin doesn't NEED JK. He was doing perfectly fine on his own, way before JK started reacting to Jimin's FACE related shit. He was already breaking records. He was already everywhere with none BTS kpop fans reacting to Set Me Free left right and centre. So no, Jimin does not need Jungkook.
I don’t celebrate JK promoting Jimin because I think he needs the push. I celebrate it because I know they're together and I'm a Jikooker. So I think JK is being a really sweet boyfriend doing this even if he doesn't need to. He knows he doesn't need to. It's not the first time he's done something for Jimin even though he didn't need to.
So don't get it twisted; its well and good that JK is promoting Jimin but Mimi don't need it. This is just what people who love eo do, they're there for eo.
Okay. Now I'm done.
Bonus.

There's this huge mythos around Dark Themes that posits that Dark Themes in writing are treated with disdain/suspicion, or that authors that write about Dark Themes are subject to substantially more investigation or criticism within the industry at large compared to authors that don't write Dark Themes. And like. Obviously if your story contains upsetting content, you're more frequently going to hear about people refusing to engage with your story out of hand, but... this is almost always based on personal comfort/preference, rather than Moral, Artistic Opposition. I know plenty of people who won't watch a movie if a dog dies in it, but you don't see swarms of people boycotting John Wick.
The conventional wisdom that stories with Dark Themes will be less popular is pretty obviously untrue if you consider anything about pop culture in almost any period of history. If we speak in recent pop culture (as is generally meant)... Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire is incredibly well known for its depiction of rape/CSA/incest, as is Stephen King's It. Star Wars is subject to parody for its recurrent themes of incest. These are incredibly popular, socially acceptable, mainstream works, criticism of which (on the basis of their content) has done nothing to stop each from making completely insane amounts of money. Whenever I see people claim that a work is avant-garde for its Dark Themes, it's almost always a work that has been incredibly commercially successful with no large critical backlash-- take, for example, Hanya Yanagihara's A Little Life, which occupies shelves upon shelves of display cases in Barnes and Noble despite its depiction of multiple explicit CSA and self harm scenes.
What works are subject to scrutiny ostensibly on the basis of their 'dark themes,' like Vladimir Nabokov's Lolita or Toni Morrison's The Bluest Eye, tend to be far more tame by comparison-- The Bluest Eye contains one extremely short and exceptionally dry description of a man raping his daughter, and Lolita contains no explicit sexual scenes at all. Actually what causes these works to be subject to criticism is the fact that they depict child abuse in a way which causes reader discomfort, rather than excitement. Nabokov actually joked about how he was strongly criticized for the lack of child sex abuse scenes in his novel, and attempts to ban Morrison's novel are usually transparently racist.
And, I mean, sure, there is an extent population that will become strongly critical of a work after learning that it has themes of abuse, regardless of the actual execution of these themes... but somehow whenever I see authors talk about how they're basically Christ on the cross for including a child rape scene in their novel (or fanfiction), they do so from a place of artistic and cultural success, and are lauded for doing so. It's just... immensely tiring.

plagiarizing an obscure indie game for lazy hip hop and rap
youtube is currently going up in flames over plagiarism found in many people's channels, particularly documentary-ish videos that have commentary from the uploader. this seems to be mostly because of that hbomberguy and his recent video about plagiarism on the website, as well as a specific person who's drowning in controversy lately.
i admit that i don't want to watch the video, because i've watched other videos already, and i've heard about the other channels' plagiarism through the grapevine. plagiarism IS awful, and it's a disgrace to find it's way more commonplace than i thought.
all this made me remember something... a few weeks ago i remembered that i once found a few songs on youtube, and 1 on spotify, that straight up steal music from an old indie horror game that's stayed pretty obscure throughout the years. so i spent the next few days trying to find every youtube upload with stolen music from it, as well as the respective channels, and even uploads on other websites (which i did find; one of them was even "for sale" on a beat-selling website).
it made me angry. it made me sick. to see so many idiotic hip hop "artists" steal someone else's work, sometimes even selling it, because they're hacks who can't be bothered to put in the work for their craft. i accumulated quite a number of tabs of people who did this - WAY too many links to videos and uploaders - and then...
i closed them all. i was furious and it was making me go crazy. my mental health was taking a hit and i knew there was nothing i could do...
the game they're all stealing from is called Irisu Syndrome, and it's a short freeware horror game from japan first released in 2008 that has garnered a bit of a cult following. the music is by MusMus, who is credited as Watson in the game. it's still very obscure, but well-known enough that siivagunner has made a "high quality rip" of one of its tracks. in fact, it even inspired Dan Salvato to make Doki Doki Literature Club partially! suffice to say, i adore this game. it may be short, but it left a lasting impression on me (it's a pretty shocking game! those under 16 and easily-disturbed folks should avoid it), so i've never forgotten about it as the years passed.
the game was made entirely by japanese people... this makes any sort of communication between western fans and the dev or MusMus pretty difficult. for the record, the english patch was supposed to be given an official release, but the dev himself couldn't find a way to contact the english translators, so only spanish and mandarin got official versions.
communication is difficult... i can't just email some japanese person who made this game's music all those years ago, with all these links and all this worry in my heart, and expect a response. i don't want to be intrusive.
...but i also care. maybe i care too much. it's incredibly unfair that some bozos are out there stealing the guy's music and getting comments like "this is fire!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥" when all they did was add a beat to the tracks. meanwhile the game stays in obscurity. none of them are popular "musicians" but it's sickening all the same. it's stealing. all i want is for the game's music composer to know, so maybe he can report those uploads himself.
for the record i know about sampling, and this isn't it. using the entire track and then not crediting, that's not innocent "sampling". just wanted to make that clear.
i get cold feet easily. i don't know if i can just email him, if he would read it, if i can make my point clear, if anything could actually be done. i don't want to be intrusive. i don't want to be a nuisance.
but all this recent talk of plagiarism, it got me thinking again. it's incredibly unfair, because even if he was okay with it, the plagiarists didn't ask or credit him. i can't just forget about this, so i'm making this post.

I wish I knew how to edit because I'd make an Arcane AMV set to Rueda la corona by La Raíz that you wouldn't fucking believe.
For the record, this is the song:
youtube
And these are the lyrics in English:
(I did not try to keep the rhyme and I included some footnotes explaining the more obscure references. This is a very political song.)
On the board, there's a pawn and a rook, a bishop, a horse running A laughing king watching over from the last row, the match is in his honour Black and white, they're red and blue*, centuries of tears, fog, coffins Sun-facing faces** hiding behind clouds Make it fucking end! Today's a holiday, we gotta put the queen on checkmate, 'cause she's still alive and well We gotta break the board, kings don't win games in exile Today, today I belong to all of you, today is the tomorrow at those elders' tables Today the match can, must happen Choose the pieces that will risk their lives We play checkers today too, we gotta set the castle on fire, let the flames bring a tomorrow Let them, let them bring a tomorrow and new proclamations We must break their chess board at last I'd give my life to challenge the king Hand-to-hand on the beaten earth
(Spoken) Look, the king's always king Everyone will always be what they were Except for... Except for the pawns
The people come marching in, like a gale pushing forward, firm and elegant And cutting through on the front lines, like a general, there's an elephant***, an elephant Who spits blood at the leech and his heirs, because his clock isn't patient anymore Because there's a pawn who doesn't fear fate, who knows a life full of death
We play checkers today too, we gotta set the castle on fire, let the flames bring a tomorrow Let them, let them bring a tomorrow and new proclamations We must break their chess board at last I'd give my life to challenge the king Hand-to-hand on the beaten earth Every piece I take from you is one step forward I want that crown tumbling onto the board And life licking its wounds (x2) A sword is born, forged by every word, every extra millenium you existed Starving your people, living off a fallacy There's a choice to be made now and forever, and we move Being a pawn isn't something you choose We've been repeating it for a while Here we choose to take flight
Everyone will always be what they were Except for the pawns
Every piece I take from you is one step forward I want that crown tumbling onto the board And life licking its wounds (x5)
*Blue has been tied to Spanish fascism since its beginnings because the members of the Falange Española de la JONS, the historical fascist party in Spain, wore blue shirts. Red obviously references the left, particularly the republican army during the Spanish Civil War. Currently, the right-wing Partido Popular is associated with blue, while the centre-left Partido Socialista Obrero Español is associated with red.
**"Sun-facing faces" references Cara al sol, the anthem of the Falange Española de la JONS.
***I'm??? pretty sure??? that this is a reference to the fact that a well-known hobby of the previous king, Juan Carlos de Borbón, is big-game hunting in Africa. He's been known to hunt elephants specifically.

Ronnie Radke and his Popular Monster
Ronnie Radke is a prominent figure in the world of rock and metal music, known for his band Falling in Reverse. Born on December 15, 1983, in Las Vegas, Nevada, Radke first rose to fame as the lead vocalist of Escape the Fate.
In the early 2000s, he co-founded Escape the Fate, which quickly gained popularity in the post-hardcore scene with their energetic performances and Radke’s distinctive vocal style.
However, Radke's career took a downturn due to legal issues. In 2008, he was involved in an altercation that led to a man's death, resulting in a prison sentence. His time in prison led to his departure from Escape the Fate. Despite this setback, Radke was determined to make a comeback, working on himself to improve both as an artist and a person, resurrecting from the ashes. After his release, he formed Falling in Reverse in 2008. Their debut album, The Drug in Me Is You (2011), showcased Radke's lyrical honesty and willingness to address his troubled past. Falling In Reverse published two more albums, always facing to the strong criticism adressed to Ronnie in many ways, as in live concerts and Twitter.
Radke’s musical style is known for its versatility, often blending elements of metalcore, rap and pop. He has a unique ability to fuse aggressive, high-energy music with melodic hooks. His lyrics mostly explore themes of personal struggle and redemption, reflecting his own life experiences.
Ronnie Radke remains a significant and influential figure in modern metal music. His story is one of highs and lows, marked by both personal and professional challenges, and yet, despite everything, he has maintained a loyal fanbase and continues to be a prominent voice in the music industry.
Moving on to the latest Falling In Reverse work, Popular Monster is their fourth studio album released on August 16, 2024.
This project was presented in January 2022 as a 5 songs compilation EP called Neon Zombie, with the songs Watch the World Burn, Popular Monster, Voices In My Head, ZOMBIFIED and Ronald, all of them released as singles before the album. These tracks became hits, gaining great popularity and quickly becoming one of the band’s most popular songs. In fact, when Watch the World Burn was released the band entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the first time. Later on the last single they published before the album was All My Life. The album includes the tracks inside Neon Zombie, All My Life and the album itself tracks, Prequel, Bad Guy, Trigger Warning and NO FEAR, and moreover his Papa Roach cover, Last Resort - Reimagined.
Pretty much all of the tracks have a common mixture with heavy metal, rap and trap beats, which is admirable how these genres are cleanly blended in the pieces. The album themes focus on his anger against the amount of hate he has received during his career. From my perspective this album is very well accomplished since this rage has been squeezed to create songs full of energy, heavy riffs and a great expressivity in Ronnie’s vocals and rap.
My personal favorite tracks are Bad Guy and Trigger Warning, which has an unexpected piano solo.
Overall, this album was very highly anticipated and didn’t disappoint, and it's proof that keeping moving when you’re in your worst moment is what really leads to success.

St.Lucian Music is praised but not recognized
The Caribbean Music Awards aired for the first time on August 31 in Brooklyn, New York. Hosted by Haitian musician Wyclef Jean at Kings Theatre, this was the first award show to be solely for Caribbean music. Musicians from all Caribbean islands attended though some islands had more attendees than others. Honorary Awards were given to a few artists from the islands of Jamaica, Trinidad, and Haiti. Some of the winners include Buju Banton, David Rudder, Mikaben, and more.
Soca, Dancehall, Kompa, and Reggae music were the focused Caribbean music genres at the awards. Within these genres, each island makes its style of music. Many other genres in the Caribbean were not represented such as Bouyon and Dennery Segment. These genres can be found in Dominica and St.Lucia. Dennery segment and Bouyon are forms of soca music.
Many well-known Caribbean artists attended the awards as well as new artists. Only one artist from the island of St.Lucia was present. Teddyson John, well known for his hit Vent, attended the awards and performed alongside Nailah Blackman and Jada Kingdom. Teddyson John doesn’t sing St.Lucia’s Dennery segment but he does sing soca music. Some of St.Lucia's biggest artists like Motto, Umpa, Mata, Shemmy J, Ricky T, and many more were not even invited to the event. St.Lucian music was even played during the award show but no light was shed on the genre's achievements.
The Dennery Segment originally came around in the late 2010s. The music genre grew in popularity in St.Lucia and spread throughout the Caribbean. In 2017 the genre got lots of recognition when a single called Split In Di Middle was released by Freezy. West Indian islands all over the Caribbean began to play Dennery segment at parties or events on the island and internationally. The genre continues to produce more artists and great soca hits for the Caribbean islands. Some Dennery segment hits include Split In Di Middle by Frezzy, Plat by Umpa, Fire by BlackBoy, and Big Ride by Motto featuring BlackBoy and Ezra.
Motto Lashey Winter has made one of the biggest impacts on St.Lucian music. Motto has produced and recorded many of the Dennery segment hits from the past to the present day. He spreads St.Lucia's music culture yearly performing in all Caribbean islands, Europe, and America. Motto was not invited to the Caribbean Music Awards which was eye-opening to many soca music lovers. When I asked Motto why he thinks this happened his answer was simply “I don’t know”.
Here is one of Motto’s hit songs:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oeGsSjhkXa8
Elmo Norville, a young rising musician, born in St.Lucia also was not invited to the awards. Norville has produced hits for artists in many different Caribbean islands. Elmo also plays many instruments including the ukulele and bass. His instrument playing has been featured on many tracks in the Caribbean. Although he wasn’t in attendance, Norville still celebrated, a track he performed bass on called “Down Dey” by GBM Nutron, and DJ Spider won the Collaboration of the Year Award. Norville said, “The fact that I didn’t know it was nominated and it won an award was shocking”. The win brought emotions for him and he was proud of himself for the achievement.
Both Norville and Motto wasn’t even aware of the awards. St.Lucian music was even played at the award show but the musicians who made these songs were not present. St.Lucian music has been mainstream for a few years now. Norville even said, “All soca songs now have an element of the Dennery segment in the beat”. If the music from St.Lucia was able to make such an impact why are the musicians not respected like others?
Norville believes the problem begins with the St.Lucian people. “St.Lucian people don’t support St.Lucian people like other islands like Jamaica and Trinidad do,” said Norville. Envy and fear are the root of why some St.Lucian artists fail to grow. Norville said, “If we don’t respect and uplift each other, how can other people”. Not all artists are like this and it shows through their work and progress. Many artists respect themselves and their craft and push hard to reach their successes.
Desray Desir, a St.Lucian going to school in New York, tuned into the Caribbean Music Awards and was excited to see all her favorite artists. Desir saw that Teddyson John was at the awards and was excited saying “ I saw him and I was excited because it was my first time seeing an artist from my country on a platform like this.” Desir was hoping to see more artists and was confused when she didn’t see Motto present, “ I thought he would be there after I saw Teddyson there because they are a part of the well-known artist but I was looking for him”.
This was the awards show's first airing, maybe next year they will bring more people to represent St.Lucia. The island has created a big influence on soca music while growing in the last nine years. Some St.Lucian people may have toxic views causing other islands to reflect these views onto other Lucian people. On the inside, you can see the truth more than you can from the outside. This may be why misconceptions are created. St.Lucian artists working internationally like Motto and Elmo Norville have found ways to push through these toxic habits and reach for their biggest dreams.
Soca and Dancehall music are continuously evolving and for Caribbean people, this is nothing new. All Caribbean genres and subgenres should be celebrated because the standard style of the genres is not the most known in the present day. Hopefully next year, The Caribbean Music Awards will be more inclusive and bring more of St.Lucia's biggest artists to represent St.Lucian music. The award show has the platform to help push these artists to the place they should be based on their talent and streaming numbers.

Harry Belafonte, one of the great folk-pop singers of the 1950s and 1960s, has died at 96. He’s mostly known for popularizing calypso singing in the United States, but a lot of American Jewish Baby Boomers consider his to be the definitive recording of “Hava Nagila.” His rendition of it was the gold standard for bar mitzvahs well into the 1980s, and this 1960 performance shows you why. It’s energetic, accessible, perfect for dancing along.
It is absolutely a product of its time, of course. In the 1950s, American Jews had started their upwardly mobile trek by moving out to the suburbs. Israel was officially a country, but honestly, a lot of non-Israeli Jews were still undecided about whether or not it was a viable country. When this recording was made, Adolf Eichmann was still living in obscurity in Argentina, and the Six-Day and Yom Kippur Wars were still years in the future. For a lot of American Jews, the future was the United States, suburbia, and a particular kind of assimilation.
A lot of the American Jewish goal in the 1950s was to keep being Jewish while looking as much like American Protestants as possible. And, as they were assiduously becoming American, Jewish cultural markers started creeping into the grab bag of American ethnic and Folk Traditions. This was the era in which Christians first got introduced to the concept of the Passover seder -- the original idea was that a local Jewish Neighbor™ would hold a demonstration seder at a church for purposes of cultural education. That little experiment went wildly haywire, but the intent wasn’t bad.
A couple of Jewish folk songs made it into the repertoire of the Fifties Folk Revival. They tended to be short, singalong kinds of songs, in Hebrew or in English translation rather than Yiddish, and they blended well into the “It’s A Small World” corner of the Folk Revival. “Hava Nagila” was one of these songs -- others included “Shalom, Chaverim” and “Tzena, Tzena.” Belafonte learned “Hava Nagila” from beatnik folk singers in New York, and first performed it in Greenwich Village. A lot of suburbanized American Jews were absolutely thrilled that a singer like Belafonte was showing off something Jewish. And the fact that he sang it so well only made him more popular.
So long, Harry Belafonte! Thank you for your music, and for your great, shining bar mitzvah banger.

Been in a slump for the past 2 days due to the BB Hot 100 clusterfuck.
As a Jimin-bias I was saddened and disheartened by the opps that Jimin face.
Its been a roller coaster since he releases SMF pt 2 where ppl were shading on his autotune. But fortunately it didnt show up much on my TL. Hence I wasnt too bothered. Anyway for me the song resonates more than LC so at my age I dont really care about other opinion but my own for important things. People will have different preferences and you cant expect everybody to like what you like or hate what you hate.
And then the 10s encore happened. To be honest when I first watched it. I cringed and dread pooled in my stomach coz I just know he is going to be dragged over it. Nevermind the stunning performances he delivered in Musicbank. But he shut up the haters again with Lee Mujin accoustic performance and I was over the moon again.
And then Billboard Hot 100 happened and I literally cried while holding my phone and posting to twitter and stationhead because I was streaming there. Couldnt sleep even though it was a working day after that night.
Anyways the takeaway here is that. I know its cliche but I also need to remind myself that Jimin knows he's love by many. More than the hatred hes receiving. The fact that he tears up during the live after BB 100 also is a testimony how it was so unexpected & moving for him.
We came down and moved on too fast from the #1 BB Hot 100. It should be celebrated more. I was reminded yet again that Jimin is the first Korean soloist to achieve that title in the last 6 decades where competition is intense and GP is bombarded with new content every other day and where content is heavily curated for the GP to consume. So lets not dim the light from that achievement.
During all these chaos, I remember a saying...
The greatest light cast a long shadow.
As much as I hate all these shades thrown on Jimin... A publicity good or bad is still publicity. & Jimin will become more popular, well known because of it. We as his supporters just need to share more of the good stuff so GP dont misunderstand him or receives the wrong perception.
But I have faith in Jimin because hes known to break boundaries and delivers more than what is expected of him. He never overpromises and underdeliver. He always slay and perform.
Actually know BTS since 2018 but didnt become a fan until Sep 2022. Jimin was the one who hooked me from ON MV with his blue hair and just great dance performance.
I can just binge on his Lee Mujin performance. I do think he needs to release that accoustic versions to streaming platform. Its such a waste that I cant listen to it while I sleep. His voice is a lullaby for me.
I guess the whole point of this blog is to remind myself and everyone out there that we need to celebrate more on his #1 BB 100 rather than focusing on the negative.
I was thinking that we can do a legal recourse with regards to how blatant the discrimination against Jimin is. But other than signing a global petition to boycott BB, cant think of any other way. But this discrimination against a colored and non US artist and how Armys rallied and use different platforms to support Jimin is actually the first ripple of a stone drop in the lake. It might takes away relevancy of the ruling platform like YT and chart like BB.
After all consumer doesnt like being treated as fools. Im pretty sure even non-army who saw the blatant discrimination if they are rational will also see that this kind of monopoly is not good in the long run.
Changes always start small and then ripples to become waves. I believe in Jimin. I believe in BTS. I believe in Army. Lets pay the positivity forward.

Can't Wait to Meet You, So Join the Animatronic Family
By: Tory Andrews
Spoilers for the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie ahead, but minimal lore spoilers.
On August 14, 2014, Mark Fischbach, more commonly known as ‘Markiplier’, uploaded a video to his YouTube channel titled ‘WARNING: SCARIEST GAME IN YEARS’. The video featured a simple game playthrough of a nightguard keeping watch of some Chuck E Cheese-esque animatronics, essentially making sure nobody breaks in, and the animatronics stay untouched. As the night progresses, the animatronics, a yellow chicken, a BLUE bunny, a red pirate fox, and a brown bear sporting a top hat, move around the building, making their way toward the security room. Complete with various ominous and stress-inducing sounds, a quick-drying power supply, hilarious commentary, and a limited range of motion, this gameplay would become one of Markiplier’s most-viewed videos. Who knew that this video and countless other videos would spark interest in an indie video game about haunted animatronics?
Now fast forward 9+ years, and now, ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’ is Blumhouse Studio’s highest-grossing film of all time, beating ‘Split’.
Despite Five Nights at Freddy’s being a video game, a lot of its fans admit to not playing any of the games. This is quite ironic until you find out how popular YouTube ‘Let’s Plays’ are. You can sit back and watch somebody else play all while listening to hilarious commentary. In fact, CoryxKenshin, a popular YouTuber who frequently plays FNaF games, made a cameo in the FNaF movie as the cab driver. Beyond the games, the fandom has taken a life of its own, creating artwork, hilarious and iconic videos, fanfiction, cosplays, fan-made music, and fan-made merch alike! This fandom really knows no bounds, as the fan-made song ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’ by The Living Tombstone is the ending credits song to the movie. Speaking of the movie, Blumhouse co-founder Jason Blum and movie director Emma Tammi made it their mission to make a movie that would be ‘for the fans’ and not the critics. Since the fandom received it so well, it’s safe to say they achieved their goal.
Now, you simply cannot talk about FNaF, its fandom, and the movie without talking about the elephant in the room. THE LORE! Scott Cawthon, FNaF’s creator, has really gone all in with his intricate and cryptic storytelling abilities to tell the story of the Afton family, Afton Robotics, Fazbear Entertainment, revenge, atonement, and, of course, animatronic farm animals. And since the lore is so complex and takes a real eye to detail to ‘solve’ it, one YouTuber has made it his mission to piece it all together. Matthew Patrick, also known as MatPat, and his team of theorists on the Game Theorists channel pick apart every game, book, easter egg, announcement, poster, and everything in between to find bits of lore or clues. MatPat’s dedication to solving the story has given icon status within the fandom, so much so that he also has a cameo in the movie. He even says his iconic line, which he uses to end all of his videos, “But that’s just a theory.” I was fortunate enough to see the movie on opening night with a few of my friends and some classmates. One of the friends I went with was MSMU senior Emily Hellstrom, who grew up with the fandom. “Undoubtedly, it’s the memories I associate with it. I have a very clear memory of being in the back of the bus from a field trip to UCLA, sitting while one of my friends was playing the beta of the second game… I have memories of sitting at dinner watching [MatPat]’s game theories and other YouTubers such as [Markiplier] and [jacksepticeye] play the game.” After a night filled with snacks, jokes, lore dumps, and going crazy because of a reference only the fandom would get, the movie ended. “I was almost in tears- but of course, I did cry because my childhood was honored and complete.” Whether you grew up feeling scared of these animatronics or had a friend lore-dump on you on the way to the theater, it’s safe to say that the FNaF fandom and franchise are diehard, iconic, and nostalgic. “The fandom for the game is what truly adds to its magic, I think.”

Michael Jackson's song 'They Don't Really Care About Us' was released on 16th April 1995. It is among his most popular songs ever. So, here's They Don't Care About Us Song Review. Michael Jackson was one of the most influential artists ever. His life and career was full of ups and downs. He was at the peak of stardom and suffering heavy criticism from the media. Michael was a vocal critic of the system and the music industry. Michael was aware of a lot of things that are hidden to most people. They Don't Care About Us Song Review & Meaning Disclaimer: This is my interpretation of the song, I could be wrong about it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNJL6nfu__Q So, the song 'They Don't Really Care About Us' from its title is very easy to understand. But who is 'they' that Michael is referring to. Michael in my opinion is referring to the people in positions of power who dictate terms, conditions, policy and have a major control over the world. The industry and the system was very cruel to Michael and Michael has expressed so many times. It wasn't just with Michael but with several other stars who have had the same story(K*nye West, B*itney Spears) etc. Michael was accused and probably framed of assaults(p*dophill*a) which I believe he was innocent of. The song is about how politicians and similar figures project that they are there to help people but in fact it is the quite opposite. The people are divided so that they can be controlled on the basis of race, relegion, economic status etc so that they are busy fighting amongst themselves while the bad people at the top get away with heinous crimes. Michael mentions Roosevelt and Martin Luther as heroes. Now, I think he is referring to Martin Luther King Jr. who was a civil rights activist and is among the most well known figures to have ever fought for people's rights. Michael probably is mentioning Franklin D. Roosevelt since he says he. Franklin's wife Eleanor was a major figure who did a lot for human rights as well. Michael probably feels that if these people were alive and they knew about it, they would do something to eradicate it. Anyway, guys let me know how you feel about this song. Feel free to leave your opinions.
