as you can see seb takes me the longest LMAOO hes such a menace for me to draw still...and i dont even think seeing my process helps since its just so much trial and error and warping until it looks right BAHAHA (this is from like a month ago and i ALREADY think seb looks off here too 💀) but my process is super simple, i just colour and cell shade on multiply and then i add a grain texture on soft light 10% at the end. i dont rly do anything fancy for colouring, bc i used to over-render my art and make it really complicated, but now im a fan of just having it look kinda...flat? if that makes sense LOL. i like it aesthetically AND its also easier. OH also something i add to the end of almost all my pieces is this auto-action from clip studio assets which basically adjusts the hue/saturation/brightness. here's an example of what the original flat colours look like vs. when i add this filter:

even if you dont have clip studio the same effect could be achieved with just manually tweaking with the hue/saturation levels afterwards, but i like this filter just cuz its easy and makes the colours more how i like them HOPE THIS HELPS💖💖

i also can’t help but think how it’s so fitting for him lore wise; how he used to be a weaponsmith/craftsman :’))) so it makes a lot of sense for him to have a history with craftsmanship !

and on the topic of fitting! you translated the mara really well! i think the self-destructiveness of drugs and alcohol is as realistic as you can get in a modern-au. especially because once you really get in the shitter, it’s hard to get out of it. addiction is a serious problem.

you conveyed blade’s softness so so well, it really made me go, yes, this is why i love blade so much 🥹! you truly get it!! get him!! he’s for sure very rough around the edges, but he can truly be so sweet 😭!! even if he’s much more subtle about it.

and ahhh the kiss. the most precious little kiss 😭! i found it super appropriate too! it’s definitely more genuine than anything a kiss on the lips would have conveyed given their context. it’s such an innocent action, to be kissed on the forehead. it felt borderline apologetic. yes, it was a thank you, but it also felt like he was saying sorry 🥹! he truly can be so soft and considerate when he wants to be!! and reader finally getting to experience that side of him was so heartwarming

he’s still very much guarded. you don’t just get over someone like that, that’s a given. you don’t just get over alcoholism and drug addiction overnight.

but it’s a start, and that’s enough. he’ll get better. he just needed that little nudge in the right direction. a little reassurance of someone being there.

the final few parts of that chapter felt so rewarding reading it. AAAAAAAAAAA!!1!11!1!!1 IM SOBBING. this might just take the cake for my favourite modern fic i’m not even shitting you rn 😭

Idk how to explain it there was something so nice about writing Blade taking initiative like this after being so meh to the Reader. Especially just how much he took the initiative. He didn't take one look at it and gave up because there's no fixing that furniture, no, he took all these steps of going to the basement, collecting things he needed, eventually asking(or demanding lol) Reader for help, and he did it all one step at a time.

Idk it felt so much more rewarding writing this scene like this than having him go "here's everything I need, done, bye" 🙈

Yes, yes! Given his canon past I knew I wanted him to be crafty in this fic and since I knew I wanted to go with the cleaning idea from the beginning, the idea to use furniture to represent hist craftsmanship + mental state was almost an instant given then 🤭

Blade is in canon often misunderstood. When that car scene with him and Firefly got released, a lot of people were surprised how nice Blade was in it. Even though he's always been like that, it's just that he mostly showed up on screen when the Mara struck and he wasn't himself T_T

I really tried my best to build trust between Blade and the Reader slowly. I also knew from the beginning that I didn't want this to end with a super happy ending but more with a promise. That they took a step in the right direction, Blade did his first step, Reader is there to support him(and he knows that now), and with a lot of time there will be a happy ending eventually 🥹

i think one of the biggest reasons is just vibes alone lol. my type in general is usually big brute exterior, soft and silly interior like with nocti from pgr and aki from neural cloud

theres also a common pattern of having the most dorito bod + tiny grabbable waists ive ever seen but thats a whole other topic 💀

+ most of the time theyre all shirtless? 🤨 i keep unintentionally choosing the ones that are/go shirtless more frequently than other chars so thats another weird call out to myself hsjfjskf

legit when i first saw mammon my brain was automatically like "i NEED him." it was literally the same as how mammon fell in love w mc, love at first sight LOL

anyw looks aside i very much love his approach of "i'll be yours and so maybe one day youll choose me." its a nice change of pace from the usual "youre mine and i will do as much as possible to prove youre mine." he ald knows everyones gonna try to claim you, so he found a workaround that stood out from the rest (actual big brain move imo). idk i like the more passive approach of him just letting you go at your own pace and he'll be there whenever

most of his card stories (havent fully read his attacker card tho cause im stuck on needing his sig 😭😭) normally have him submit to you and let you do whatever you like, even reassuring you that no matter how rough (or gentle) you wanna be w him, he'll always enjoy it (cause he gets to spend time w you hHHSHFJSKFK 😭😭🥹🥹🥹) and being rough wont hurt him in the slightest. idk i like being in control in most ✨️spicy✨️ situations and for mammon to be like "do as you please" just makes me very happy :3

i also like how his greed is portrayed differently from the usual. like his greed focuses more on keeping/maintaining what he ald owns rather than trying to be on the hunt to collect everything (tbf he ald believes everything is his so theres most likely no need to really collect anything in his eyes).

Holy buckets this chapter! You were 100% right I like coal lol. The feels all the feels 🫠🥹🙃. I’m glad the pack seemed to use the separation time to try and mend their own bonds. I am trying really hard to not be upset with Yoongi for not going to pup. I mean I understand him not wanting to scare her away but they both obviously need each other. But he did come for her at the station and ending the chapter with pup in his arms is squeal inducing 🥰. I truly hope that Eli and Kate get food poisoning from their wedding cake! I was so so proud of Pup for making a nest and they had to go a ruin the moment. I hope Hobi can become her Omega fairy godfather and help her fight to accept her own omega and show her how to love that part of herself. Also we all know Yoongi would die and go to heaven watching her build a nest side by side with Hobi. Jungkook and Jimin were literal angels in this chapter and I loved their little reunion. Also Pup’s thoughts on the guest room hurt! I can’t wait for her to see her room at the packs new home. Sea foam green symbolizes peace and security I think so I hope that paired with Yoongi being the alpha she needs can show her she is worthy of everything the cruel voice says she isn’t and that she can heal and be happy. Yeah with Yoongi, he was trying to do the best thing and I think he did, but it also would've been something if he tried to go to her and make her understand before something bad happened. But alas.

That last moment when she goes to him without even thinking and calls him alpha. That moment has been on my mind for WEEKS and it was so nice to finally write it. We don't see it from her perspective really but since she's still in shock her voices, especially the mean ones are completely silent, so they can't caution her or hold her back. She just goes to him on instinct 😭

I wish I could have focused a little more on what the pack was up to but I wanted to focus more on mc and move the plot along so people didn't get bored. Plus I'm like, bad at writing about dates ? Idk if that makes sense but it's weird. But Jin and namjoon definitely had some cute dates and good quality time.

Omega fairy god mother is perfect way to describe it!! Helping her learn to nest is gonna be such a big thing bc like...it's not even about making the nest nice or soft or have all the right scents. It's about safety and security and there's a lot for her to unpack before she can have a proper nest for that reason. But I love the idea of the whole pack watching the two of them get into a nesting frenzy and just like, not be invited in.

Leni is so very precious and ofc there is some angst💔 her bio dad died when she was very very young, bio mom started drinking a bunch to try drowning her sorrows about her husband dying.

Unfortunately she stopped really caring for Leni🙁 eventually the mom dies, Leni at first doesn't understand her mama is gone and she rushes out to find someone to help wake her mama up😭

Price is down by a small river after a mission, camp is just behind him, he's washing all the dirt and grime off. Suddenly a little fawn girl is standing beside him, holding a bunny plush in her arms, brown eyes staring at him with a mix of fear and curiosity. Fawns typically keep to themselves so Leni has never really seen a human before, it was scary but she found the man interesting

She watches him for a few moments, head tilting to the side, like when a puppy doesn't understand something. Price simply stares back at her with a soft smile, reaching over and ruffling her hair a little, which causes her to pout. "what are you doing out here, kid? Are you on your own?" Price was a little worried about her, she seems so young and he can't see any adults with her.

Leni is in the middle of fixing her hair when Price asks his question, her deer ears twitching a few times before suddenly perking up. "Mama is sick... You can help, yes?" She didn't give him much time to reply, grabbing his wrist and attempting to drag him towards her home. Price follows along, worried about the kid and her mother, he may not be a doctor but he could possibly help.

"Mama been asleep awhile... She won't wake up no matter what. She must be very sick..." Hearing Leni's words made Price momentarily freeze, realizing that her mother was most definitely dead and Leni just didn't understand.

"kid...I don't think I can wake your mama up" he said in a soft tone, kneeling down to her level and gently resting a hand on her little shoulder. Leni stared up at him with tearful eyes, lip quivering slightly as she struggled to speak. "no... Mama has to wake up... I... She..." A part of Leni knew her mother was gone but she really didn't want to accept it.

Price gently pulled the crying girl in his arms, trying to offer what little support he could. Price couldn't find the words to say so he stayed silent. As Leni's sobs died down, he gently pulled back to look at her, his heart aching as he saw her tear soaked face and eyes all puffy and red. "Do you have anyone else you can live with, kid?"

Leni shook her head no as she wiped her runny nose with her dress sleeve. "Papa left awhile too... Don't have anyone but Bun Bun..." She gestured to the plush held tightly in her arms

Price thought things over for a moment, coming to a decision. He couldn't leave her on her own so for now, he'll take her back to base with the taskforce. She'll be safe there until he can figure out a better solution. "alright, you're gonna stay wirh me for a bit, how's that sound kid?"

Leni was hesitant, she really didn't know this man but... She didn't have anyone else either and he was pretty nice. "mm okay... I'm Leni, by the way" she held out her little hand for him to shake. Price smiled, gently taking her small hand in his rough one, shaking it slightly. "I'm John Price"

Crystal - Kris supremacy, the highlight of it really, also really dope we can visit another region post game

TCG for the GBC - it's fun, made me understand the card game a bit better back then hahah

Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald - HOENN SUPREMACY ough this is home in game form fr, this and BW/BW2, but more on this really hahaha it's cool the contests are cool actually, love the starters, they're the first starter trio where I liked all of them, love the characters, I love my son Wally so much, May/Brendan too, Wallace the true Hoenn Champion in my heart (Emerald bias), the best roster of mons, I could go on really

FireRed/LeafGreen - I mean.. idk. It's an improved version of gen one I'll tell you that but yeah

Unite - ah yes, the moba game, anyways it's dope if you're winning lmfaooo also it's dope Gengar's there they should buff him actually, I think Hex and Sludge Bomb deserve buffs

TCG online/live - the online one was dope, I still miss my Zamazenta deck to this day

TCG for GBC - I mean tbf I understand why it's not mentioned much there's not much to it but it's still fun for killing time

Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald - how back breaking it was finding Feebas I honestly gave up, also what the fuck was that Regis mission man💀

FireRed/LeafGreen - same w RBY

Platinum - it wasn't a fun experience for me, it's slow as shit, and I'm pretty fucking sure majority of the people who like this game only likes Cynthia. Fr, no hate on Cynthia, she's a dope character, but she's like the Charizard of the pkmn characs really, she gets everything and is everywhere, how abt giving a chance to other Champions

HeartGold - a bit slow, but not DPPt slow at least, also again w the level scaling

PMD Red/Blue Rescue Team - this would've been so so dope if it weren't for the fact that after the story, Hero and Partner became nothing but normal recruits. Like all that buildup of Hero wanting to stay for Partner, and suddenly they're just like normal recruits, it sucks

PMD Explorers of Sky - Aegis Cave

White - idk but for me it's hard to level up in this game, also the fact the E4 didn't do much on screen, like I wanna know what they did during Plasma's attack

Black 2 - it's,, well it's how the previous characters interacted really, I wish there was more of it, I wanted to see the Gym Leaders interact w each other during the games, pls I wanted to see Bianca and Iris meeting at Castelia bc I know they met up there again please I just know it

Conquest - I think it's a skill issue on my bit but the gameplay was just so confusing for this one, and no I don't mean the battle gameplay, that I got, more on the,, recruiting bit and using of items and everything else—

X - I can't say it's easy just yet bc I really haven't made much progress so hey, for now I'm gonna say at how fucking long it takes when you get an item like dude why does it take so fucking long💀 also the lack of Diantha scenes, she deserves more, honestly she deserves so much better

Dude fr standard is either full of bots or I get matched w players who don't even know the objectives even if I'm telling them where to gather chxmxn

for example, if you were looking at a poem and were discussing the use of alliteration or sibilance or whatever, make sure to 1) identify the literary device (“plath’s use of sibilance in ‘x’, ‘x’ and ‘x’…”), 2) describe the effect of using that device (“…delivers a soft, soothing sound…”) 3) and discuss the resulting effect on the reader/the way the piece may be perceived (“…that creates a sense of stillness and peace, thus characterising plath as blah blah blah”)

srry a bit of a rough example since it was just off the top of my head but i hope that makes sense 😭 always link back to ur topic sentence !! pay attention to grammar and flow !! make sure to use active (not passive) voice when you describe the author’s use of a literary device (plath uses sibilance, not plath’s use of sibilance) !! and your experience with the titanic exhibit is absolutely relatable and you really articulated that kind of very strange feeling that I've also gotten in historic places. like, sometimes when I'm in a museum or something and I see an everyday object like a bowl or a needle or even the remnants of a textile, I just get so emotional?? like someone made that? someone used that?? someone loved that??? 🥹🥹 idk it just makes me feel this odd mix of both joy and sadness that you described so perfectly. oh and omg when there's like toys or dolls or like things people made for their pets??????? I'm such a goner. just, as someone who gets very attached to inanimate objects like my plushies I just think about the people who might have held and played with and loved them and how we share this connection across time of like, loving this thing. idk if I'm explaining this well, but basically I'm trying to say that I totally agree with you!! 😅 Also, the pictures are so cool - those room recreations are amazing!!

oh okay and also because I apparently cannot shut up about this: I've started collecting old photos from antique shops for similar reasons. like ahhhh I just can't quite explain it, but like looking at these people from the past who I don't know and likely will never know, yet knowing that these photographs meant something to them???? idk it just feels like such an honor to be the caretaker of these memories (okay I'll be done talking about this now 😅)

Hey, Charlotte!! This last week I was actually at my mother's house, which was pretty nice since it's been a while since I'd seen her. I managed to get a decent amount of writing done and every night we made dinner and got to watch some documentary together and look at old photos. Those bits were really fun and I really needed the decompression. How has your summer been going so far?? ☺️

And oh my gosh, I absolutely relate with your description of how you feel about old trinkets and photos!! I get the exact same way!! You talking about those photos reminds me of when I started to kind of collect old postcards for a while? Mostly because I found this little museum that was selling them. And because it's entirely illegal to sell mail like that, the owner had half heartedly scribbled out the words on the backs.

But you could absolutely still read them. And it was always people just talking about what they had been doing in whatever place they'd traveled to and hoping that folks at home were doing alright.

I'm a huge letter writer so it always fills me with a special kind of sentimentality seeing the words of these other people. Like these people have these rich and complex lives that I'll never get to know but in those moments, I get a glimpse of it.

Humans are just so sweet and so adorable. And maybe it's the neurodivergence in me and the fact that I've always felt a little disconnected from most people, but getting to see those little bits makes me feel part of a greater whole, ya know?

Paper ⭐︎ Favorite children's book?

Whoo boy, this sent me on a mini nostalgia trip. When my younger brother was little, I would read him bedtime stories almost every single night. And I think my favorite one to read to him was Knuffle Bunny. The story is about a toddler named Trixie who, while on a walk with her father, loses her precious stuffed bunny rabbit. The whole book is her struggle to communicate this tragedy to her parents and them rushing to search for her rabbit. It's part of this whole trilogy that follows Trixie as she gets older and I have such fondness for it. I genuinely recommend checking it out!!

I don't have an all time favorite poet exactly? Every few months, I'll just get super hyper fixated on a poet and want to learn everything I can about them? I've done this with Edgar Allan Poe, W.H. Auden, Walt Whitman, Louise Gluck, Ellen Bass, Wendy Cope, and so many more poets.

Plush ⭐︎ How many stuffed animals do you still own?

Too many to count!! On my bed right now...I'm pretty sure I have ten? Plus my army of eight Palm Pals? I just love all of them, especially since half of them are plushes that I've had since I was basically a baby? They're my favorite.

Poppy ⭐︎ Favorite pastel color?

I love a good mix of pastel pink and yellow together. It gives me strawberry lemonade vibes and I love it so much.

Roses ⭐︎ What flower do you find most beautiful?

Marigolds, all the way. My grandmother used to plant them in her garden every spring and being at her house for those plantings are kind of a core memory for me os I've always loved them.
