But also, that right there is the canon proof that no matter the 230000 miles of distance between them and two celestial bodies in orbit, postcards are how they've stayed in touch. It seems like a small and thoughtful gesture, but it's everything to someone who can't see the rest of the world Hua's been seeing, the world she's protecting all the way from the moon, the world that she might never get to see for herself or is at least missing out on opportunities now that Earth is pretty much Honkai free.

Like, for all of these years, Fu Hua has traveled all over the world while Kiana was stuck on the moon with a perm exile, sending one postcard after another so that Kiana doesn't feel left out or forgotten.

And here's where the brainrot is thriving.

Fu Hua isn't the only one traveling the globe. Kiana is too. She just can't see the sights like Hua does.

So here's my last thing I'll be posting for this year I guess. My head hurts but I wanted to draw and ended up sketching out another thing with Juno. It's like one of the (3) expressions he can switch between, and even if it's just him not activated, it seemed interesting to draw.

x1 ear for 3.0!!

This method definitely gave the ears some nice depth (a tad hard to see in the picture but looks great irl), which is fantastic because the primary gripe I've had with my ears on past heads is they always look too shallow, almost flat, from the front (as you can see on 2.5 there), even if they're not from the side. I was a little worried that the front border would be too thick when I first started adding the fur, but once I had everything glued down tight and gave it another quick shaving pass, I think it turned out pretty alright!

I'm also a lot less worried about the head being too small for the body at this point. Between the big eyes and big ears, it looks just about the same overall size as 2.5 now, just with different proportions. Adding the hair poof and cheek tufts should help even more. It still might be a little smaller than ideal, but I no longer think it's gonna be outlandishly disproportionate or anything. So yay! Of course, we won't know for sure until it's done and ready to wear, so...we'll see 😅

reallly hate when I’m just doing my own thing and suddenly become aware of what I’m doing and get stressed over not doing things symmetrically enough. like I’ll just be walking along and then I think “you put more pressure on the ball of your right foot than on your left. You need to sort this out by putting pressure on your left heel then your right heel then the ball of your left foot. If you don’t do this four or sixteen times you will be inexplicably uncomfortable for the next several hours”. And then I’m fine and don’t think about it until I feel my teeth press on my tongue or my fingers brush against each other in my pockets or something and I have to do the same thing all over again.

Your art is so beautiful, I especially love the tarot style stuff you did recently - really beginner question but how did you get the faces to be symmetrical without everything being in the wrong position?

AW THANK YOU!! they are all drawn with a symmetry ruler! It did take me a while to get used to drawing faces like that, and even now sometimes I need to do a lot of readjusting for the proportions to feel right.

If the symmetry is feeling uncanny, something that helps is adding assymetrical elements like letting the mouth be handdrawn without the ruler, adds some naturality to the front facing humans.

Overall what actually makes symmetrical art appealing is sprinkling assymetrical details in.

i think a lot of advice for new artists is bad bc the artist giving it is poisoned by engagement addiction so when someone gets no engagement bc their art isn't good yet they can only think to say "actually loads of ppl love it, i promise!!" and i think there are two problems with this: 1. it's lies and lying to ppl is not kind, and frankly at some point it gets nasty when a prsn can objectively see their work flopping and u r inventing these legions of fans u know don't exist and yelling at them for not buying it. who is this lie For, at that point? whose ego does it exist to boost?

and reason 2: engagement addiction is a cancer on creativity with proven terrible mental health side effects and it should never be encouraged. if a beginner has already fallen into the trap of Needing notes/retweets/comments/etc to create that is a fucking tragedy and they need help. telling them that they actually have secret loving fans out there won't work bc, again, Lies, but also bc u already taught them that human appreciation only counts if it makes number go up. and they can see number isn't up, so why should they care about these lurker fans adoring their work in silence. would you?
