do you ever see a re-imagining of art and it's just worst?
i saw a redraw of a medieval work of art with a nobleman kissing an angel. the redraw was smooth, technically skilled, and intimate. but the original was so much more engaging- the faces wrinkled and unposed, the limbs showing movement, the clothes rumpled and a background showing the public display of fealty and sexuality and religious dedication

Since the moment of Nickys birth, Agatha has been using Rio. She used her as a scapegoat from her own complex emotions. She then projects all her pain, her overwhelming loss, her guilt, and her feeling of responsibility for his death onto Rio as well.
Because Rio is death, an immutable immovable object that can take all the hits Agatha throws at her. All the sharpened barbs made to lay waste to anyone else, anyone weaker.
Agatha knows exactly how much to twist the knife to have the most impact.
She knows Rio will take every drop of her rancour, every ounce of her self-loathing, every rend Agatha can inflict. Then, in a few days or months, Rio will be there once more full of fervour with a flower in hand.
So when Agatha makes the deal with Rio to give up Billy in exchange for Rio never darkening her doorstep again. She never ever thought that this would be the final push that would cause death to falter.
Tumblr media
Rio has for so long been a physical embodiment of Agatha's external self hatred that the moment that Rio agrees, it all falls apart.
The safety Agatha had in her hatred of Rio crumbles, and all that is left is the realisation that the one person left on this earth that truly understood her pain, that loved all that she was had finally given up on her.
Tumblr media
As Rio walks away, you can see the disbelief, her hurt and the utter terror of losing Rio forever hit her. So, this right here is the exact moment when Agatha's fate was sealed.
Because Agatha is so deeply selfish.
The final act of reneging on the deal, pulling Rio into her arms, drawing death into herself, was never about saving Billy.
This was as close to supplication as Agatha is capable of. There is no universe in which Agatha ever says the words 'sorry'.
Tumblr media
This was forgive me. I love you. I want you.
This was, I will bury myself so deep into you that you will never be able to truly be rid of me. I will drink the poison of your lips while filling you so full to the brim with me so that I fully cement myself inside you. You will carry the weight of me with you until there is nothing left but ashes and the taste of my lips on yours.
Rio crumbles under the deluge of it all. She takes it all in. She is so full of Agatha that she never truly sees what is happening until it is already over.
The immutable unchanging death finally faltered twice in as many hours. Once more, Agatha proves that she is not Rio's scar, but the torn open bleeding heart of her
No wonder Rio did not have it in her to collect Agathas soul
Even in her most hated form, a world with Agatha in it is a world with hope for Rio. Agatha will weasel her way out of final death, and when she does, Rio will be waiting with fervour and a flower. Like always

“HIS RED FLAGS” what does he do that make him an obvious red flag?

࿐*ೃ feat : michael kaiser, sae itoshi, ryusei shidou, alexis ness
࿐*ೃ fandom : blue lock
࿐*ೃ extra : gn! reader, angst.
࿐*ೃ trigger warning : bodyshaming, profanities, manipulation, mention of intercourse, stalking, toxic relationship
Tumblr media
MICHAEL KAISER
╰┈➤: ̗̀➛ He is an arrogant and egocentric man, always bragging about himself on daily basis with you. Frequently, he belittles you and pressures you into improving yourself more. He wants to make sure you're worthy to stand next to him to maintain his distinguished image as German prodigy. Since he views himself as embodiment of perfection, you must be as perfect as him. Insulting your insecurities whenever you experience low self-esteem is his way to motivate you to better yourself.
“Stop eating that unhealthy junk. You will gain weight.”
“If you don't start working out and get rid of those fat, I'm gonna fucking dump you.”
“I don't care! Starve yourself to death or anything. If you still love me, then stop whining.”
SAE ITOSHI
╰┈➤: ̗̀➛ Living in Spain for years and learning the harsh reality of life at such young age damages his emotional growth as a teenager. He grows up as an ignorant man who lacks empathy toward others' feelings, even his own significant other. Engaging in relationship with Sae is like one-sided love. It is only you who is always concerned about the relationship and strive hard to maintain a stable relationship. Sae, in the other hand, could care less of your feelings and emotions. Often being bluntly cruel and hurting your feelings, intentionally and unintentionally. His career as soccer player is his sole priority after all.
“Can't you see I'm tired? Leave me alone.”
“Why should I waste my energy and time on a stupid date? Just stay at home.”
“Stop being mean? I'm merely being honest. It's not my fault that you're too sensitive.”
RYUSEI SHIDOU
╰┈➤: ̗̀➛ Ryusei is one manipulative partner, messing with your mind and emotions frighteningly often in order to force you to stay by his side despite how toxic the relationship is. He is selfish, obsessive and possessive. He makes you believe nobody else will love you as much as he does, even tricking your mind into believing he is the only one in this world who accept you as who you are. If breaking your mind is the only mean to turn you into an obedient doll for him, he will resort to such cruelty. He also despises talking things out when conflict brews up between you and him. To him, the sole way to make peace with you is through intercourse. He never force himself on you but he frequently seduces you into having sex as distraction to avoid having serious talk. You can never resist him and always submit yourself to him willingly. His words of temptation...is irresistible.
“Break up? There is no one better than me out there.”
“Oh, sweetheart...you can never find another person to love you. I'm the only one capable of doing so..”
“Have you forgotten? You're all alone, sweetheart. Who else will be by your side when you're at your lowest?”
ALEXIS NESS
╰┈➤: ̗̀➛ Alexis has major trust issue and inferior complex. Often attempting to be the dominant one in the relationship by controlling you. He easily misunderstands your words or action. He unhealthily believes his words as the only truth, frequently coming up with his own speculation and accuses you of mistakes you never commit. Once he loses his mind, he becomes quite violent yet he tries to resist himself from hurting you physically. He usually suppresses himself by throwing objects on the floor to relieve his anger and warning you. However, sometime he only verbally attacks you by comparing you to other people; specifically his exes. Considering his trust issue is extremely severe, he stalks on you whenever you go out with your friends or by yourself.
“What? You want to see your friend? What's wrong with staying home with me all day? Have you lost your feelings toward me?”
“Who the fuck is that bastard with you earlier? Are you cheating on me?!”
“Shut the hell up. Why the hell are you like this? All my exes are not as annoying as you.”

EMERGENCY REQUEST
Lately, I've been feeling really really down because of my weight. Although im not really "fat" And just chubby, i can't help but be bothered about people just telling me to loose weight. Trust me, im really trying but because of PCOS its hard to get rid of my belly to the point that I barely eat anything. With that being said, could i please request on how Shoto Todoroki would comfort the reader about being body conscious? Lovelots❤
Tumblr media
A/N: I'm sorry to hear that you've been feeling down about your weight. It's important to remember that your worth is not determined by your body size, and you should prioritize your health and well-being over societal pressures. Dealing with weight-related issues, especially in the face of insensitive comments from others, can be incredibly challenging. It's crucial to focus on what's best for your overall health rather than succumbing to external pressures. PCOS can make weight management more complex, and it's essential to approach it in a healthy and sustainable way.
EMERGENCY REQS MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
After a particularly tough day, you find yourself sitting in the common room of the dorm, quietly sobbing. Shoto notices your distress and joins you without a word. He sits down, leaving a comfortable distance between you, and his presence alone provides some solace.
He watches you with a caring expression, and after a while, he reaches over and offers you a blanket that was draped over the back of the couch. You accept it gratefully, wrapping it around your shoulders for warmth and comfort.
You continue to cry softly, and Shoto doesn't rush you. Instead, he patiently waits, giving you the time and space you need to process your emotions.
Eventually, when your tears begin to subside, Shoto speaks softly, "You don't have to tell me what's wrong if you're not ready, but I'm here to listen if you want to talk." His voice is gentle and understanding, offering you an anchor in the storm of your emotions.
After Shoto's comforting presence helps ease your tears, you gather your thoughts and decide it's time to open up to him. You appreciate his support and trust him with your feelings. "I just can't shake this feeling of not being good enough because of my weight," you stated out of blue.
Shoto sighs softly, "I understand that it can be tough. It's not easy when others are so critical. But please remember that their opinions don't define you."
"It's just so frustrating, Shoto. I feel like I'm constantly being judged."
"I know it's easier said than done, but try not to let the opinions of others define how you see yourself. People who truly care about you will see your inner beauty and strength," he smiles, a tiny smile dancing in the corners of his mouth.
"I've been trying really hard to lose weight, but it's not working as I hoped. And sometimes, I end up hardly eating anything because I'm so worried about gaining weight again." Your chin starts quivering again.
"I admire your determination, but please remember that health should always come first. You shouldn't have to go to such extremes. Your health is the most important thing, and starving yourself isn't the way to achieve it. You're more than your weight, and I want you to be healthy and happy."
You smile with tears in your eyes, "Thank you, Shoto, you're always so sweet to me."
Shoto gently wipes away a tear that rolls down your cheek, "You're welcome. Just know that I'm here to support you, no matter what. Remember, you're not alone in this, and we can work through it together, I'll try to help you. Your well-being is what matters most."

What are we missing from the big picture?
Looking back at my time using Pinterest to study literature, I can see that it has clear pros and cons that make it harder to fully understand some parts of the material. When you use Pinterest to interact with difficult texts like Blake's "The Little Vagabond," it does limit your ability to analyze them in some important ways.
What Doesn't the Tool Allow Me to See? One of the most important things that Pinterest hides is the depth of literary analysis. Literary works have a lot of subtleties, layers of meaning, and background information that pictures can't fully show. For example, finding a picture of Jesus kicking the traders out of the temple helped me understand Blake's criticism of organized religion better, but it didn't help me understand the historical or philosophical background of Blake's ideas. You can look at visual symbols and emotional connections on Pinterest, but it can't look at language, meter, historical context, or Blake's larger body of work as deeply as a literary analysis tool or academic resource could.
What are some of its flaws? The main problem with Pinterest is that it's a very visual tool that groups pictures and ideas together based on how they look together. This means that more important ideas, like Blake's use of comedy, tone, or rhetorical structure, can be overlooked in favor of what is interesting or makes you feel something right away. Pinterest also doesn't give you a way to comment on or study these pictures other than to save and arrange them. It doesn't allow for the critical thought that's needed to understand how deep Blake's work goes intellectually. Also, the tool depends on material that already exists—Pinterest only has the pictures that other users have uploaded. This means that there are gaps in the resources, especially for more specific or difficult topics like Blake's poetry.
Does it show a bias in the way it analyzes things? It's true that Pinterest leans toward emotional and visual analysis. The site puts a lot of weight on how things look and how they make people feel, which can change how I understand texts like "The Little Vagabond." For example, when I found pictures that went with the poem's criticism of religion, I was drawn to how strongly they made me feel. However, this response might get in the way of a more balanced or logical analysis. There is also a bias toward pictures and interpretations from today, which may take the user away from Blake's original 18th-century setting. Pinterest's focus on pictures makes it easier for people to make readings based on feelings and symbols rather than on textual details or historical analysis.
If it doesn't mean to, does it have an ideology? Pinterest promotes an idea of personalization and emotional involvement without meaning to. People who use the platform are encouraged to choose material based on their own tastes, interests, and feelings. This can make literary analysis easier to understand and relate to, but it can also lead to subjective interpretations that miss or oversimplify the author's point. If you look at Blake, who often criticizes institutions like the Church, the platform's focus on human experience might make simple readings of his social and political criticisms stand out more than more complex ones. Also, because Pinterest is all about creativity and inspiration, it might automatically favor interpretations that are more positive or aesthetically pleasing rather than ones that deal with the darker, tougher parts of a book.
What tools do I need to get rid of or understand this bias? To balance out Pinterest's focus on pictures and feelings, I would need other tools that focus on text-based research. It would be more in-depth if people could access academic databases, read literary reviews, and learn about history. There are intellectual and historical gaps that a visual tool can't fill in. Tools like JSTOR or Google Scholar could help. To better understand the emotional and symbolic meanings, I think it would also help to use tools that help with close reading, such as digital annotation platforms (like Hypothesis) or literary guides that break down poetic devices, references, and thematic structure.

Lance was an elderly man with fair, wrinkled skin, bushy gray eyebrows over gray eyes, thick brown glasses, and a short gray beard. He wore light brown slacks held up by a belt, orthopedic shoes, and a black and blue plaid shirt.
Synopsis
Lance was the victim in Call Me, Kill Me. He is Jack's grandfather and the father of Milan Archer-Adams.
Once a homicide detective for the LAPD, famous for solving the highest profile cases, Lance retired to a quieter life when the hunt for killers became too hard for his aging body and mind to deal with. He and Maaike spent their retirement doing the things they never had time for while working and raising their son. Of course, it wasn’t always perfect. Lance’s alcoholism nearly sent him to an early grave, and while he survived, he was never the same. His body was weaker, and he now needed to use a cane lest he fall while walking and hurt himself further.
In his prime, Lance led and was consulted on countless investigations during his time in the LAPD. From robbery to murder, he saw it all and learned firsthand the horrors that the human mind was capable of conjuring. He saw countless lives cut short and vowed to bring justice to the victims of LA’s heinous crimes. But not every case was destined to be solved, and those who eventually found themselves in the cold case vault still haunted him into retirement.
And while Lance pledged to serve and protect when he graduated from the police academy, he would break this vow when he started abusing his son. When someone is surrounded by crime every day, they look for ways to cope with it. Some seek therapy and other healthy options, but others go down a darker path… The former was the case for Lance. He started drinking and using his son as a punching bag to expel the vortex of complex emotions trapped inside of him due to his job.
But Lance was smart even when drinking; he never hurt Milan when Maaike was home and never left marks on his son that couldn't be hidden. As the years went by, Lance’s drinking got worse, and Milan began avoiding his father every chance he got. By the time Milan graduated high school, Lance rarely saw his son; the teen stayed at friends’ houses whenever Maaike was gone for work. Despite the rift that had formed between father and son, Lance still supported his son's decision to go to university. However, it was mostly because he was happy to be rid of the annoyance and have peace and quiet in his home.
Lance never forgot the day he and Maaike received a call from the hospital telling them Milan had been attacked. The two had rushed to see their son, and while Maaike comforted Milan through her own tears, Lance plotted how best to sweep this crime under the rug. He called his closest friend in the LAPD, and they created a fake investigation in order to collect and destroy all evidence of Milan’s rape. Lance refused to become known as the father of a victim, rape or otherwise and made sure all traces of the crime were gone.
Or at least, he thought he had. Weeks after he had destroyed all evidence of the rape, Milan announced that he was pregnant. Lance couldn’t believe that his son wanted to keep the baby and tried to convince Milan to get an abortion. But the young man wouldn't listen and went through with having the baby and creating a happy family with Giselle. Realizing that the child wasn’t going anywhere, Lance pretended to play the role of a doting grandfather while secretly loathing Jack’s existence. He knows what people said about him and his family because of the child’s conception, and he hated the hit his reputation took because of it.
Years passed, and eventually, Lance and Maaike retired and settled into a quieter life. He enjoyed not having to deal with murder cases anymore, but even though he was retired, his work wasn't over. While still a detective, he was one day approached by a woman offering to pay him a high price if he arrested someone for a crime they didn't commit. Lance’s lust for greed was stronger than his desire for justice, so he forged evidence and got the “criminal” sent to jail. Following his success, he kept being paid to falsely arrest more and more people from an organization he came to know as SOMBRA.
Lance didn't know much about the organization beyond their plans to rid the world of the weak, but he didn't mind the secrecy. He was being paid handsomely for his services, and by proving himself valuable, he earned himself a ticket to the new world. But following his retirement, he lost his means of proving himself to SOMBRA as he could no longer arrest those who opposed or betrayed the organization. And his SOMBRA contact made sure he knew the danger he was in now that he was on the verge of being deemed a liability.
Fearing for his life, Lance sought new ways to regain his place in SOMBRA. He eventually learned about Angela being caught as the mole inside of the Bureau and saw the opportunity to redeem himself. All he had to do was get Jack to agree to become SOMBRA’s new mole, and Lance would be saved! And without even needing to lift a finger, the perfect blackmail material presented itself to him.
A friend of his had come across pictures of Jack in drag and sent them to Lance. Seizing the opportunity, Lance contacted Jack regarding the photos and threatened to send them to his team, family and friends if the agent didn't do as he asked. Jack agreed to meet with Lance to discuss the terms of their agreement, and Lance notified SOMBRA of his impending present for them.
But Lance would never get the chance to blackmail his grandson into betraying the Bureau. He would be killed while waiting for his family at the 360 Restaurant by an explosion originating from his cell phone. He couldn't believe that Maaike found out about him abusing Milan and killed him because of it. But he had to admit that rigging his cell phone to explode was genius… if only she had used her smarts for SOMBRA. Perhaps they could have stayed together in the new world.
Alas, that new world would never become a reality. SOMBRA would be defeated, and Lance would be buried six feet underground. Neither able to hurt anyone ever again.
Story Information
First appeared: Call Me, Kill Me
Trivia
His quote is the only line he says before being killed
The title of the case in which he appears as a victim, Call Me, Kill Me, is a reference to the song Call Me, Beep Me!, which is the Kim Possible theme song
I considered naming him Fletcher because the name means “maker of arrows,” and it seemed funny because his last name is Archer. But ultimately I decided to go with Lance to give him two weapon-themed names
The bruises Maaike and Milan had during Call Me, Kill Me were caused by Lance
When I first referenced him in “A Team in Mourning,” I didn’t have much planned for his character. But as I got closer to writing the original case he appears in, he became more and more of an asshole

The ultimate love is cannibalistic.
In religions and throughout history, the consumption of human flesh has almost always been deemed as evil, inhumane and repulsive. However, some ancient religions show respect and love by eating the deceased. Perhaps in some way, it is not only for preventing the rotting process of the body but that in devouring the dead -- which, in explicit detail through eating their cells, fibres, muscles and blood vessels, they “enter” the consumers’ physical form and eventually become “one” with the devourer. That way, they are honoured and remembered forever. Their physical form has been reduced to intangible spiritual elevation and energy; they don't cease to exist but transcend into other beings externally and internally. Like eating beef, the joining of cells, the nutrition, and the protein within their flesh help others grow and gain strength. Through the complex process of digestion and absorption, the becoming of “one” is completed.
“If I’m turning in your stomach and making you feel sick.”
The thought of eating your loved one -- despite being morally awful and unimaginable(and most unlawful), something about it is so raw, intense and morbidly fascinating. It almost feels too intimate. “I allow you to consume my flesh and drink my blood”. What weight of love does one have to bear to state this? What lamb would willingly sacrifice itself for a starving lion? It is so grisly, gruesome and wicked. And how could one exceed such intimacy and closeness by any means when nothing could separate the bond that is tighter than the cord of blood cells, components and organic compounds? Cannibalistic love is devotion. It is beyond our comprehension of intimacy and bonding, sex and pleasure. When you eat someone, you absorb their energy. You become “one”.
The truth is, you can never get close enough to someone. Even if you are holding each other tightly, clasping their arms and pressing them against your skin, your hearts won't beat at the same time; and there remain two pieces of skin and two rib cages that set your hearts apart. An indestructible distance exists between people; it is both physical and mental. It is an interspace that grows and expands into a void in this cold, isolated world. Words, emotions, sex, success, nothing could fill this void within us.
I was once inside my mother’s body. I am a piece of flesh she shed. She carried me for forty weeks; she gave me a beating heart—every part of me she created: my eyes, fingers, hair. My flesh belongs to her, and the same blood flows in our veins. My closeness with my mother cannot be replicated with another soul. I know I will always be like a mirror to my mother: I resemble the freckles on her nose, I talk in the same voice, and our eyebrows twist in the same way when we get angry. I remind her of her youth, of her nagging pains. Perhaps the “oneness” is also about carrying someone within you, holding a part of someone and resembling them, acting like a mirror, a reflection: carrying the same passion in reading, sharing the same taste in film, wanting the same things in life. When we love, we desire to shorten the distance between us that is physically impossible to rid of; we exchange body and soul just to be closer to one another, more intimate, more similar, more like “one”.

ok so after an hour im trying to figure out what truly went Right with this season and i think its the lack of trying to make everything ‘world ending’ and ‘big picture’. the witcher novels are at their most boring and confusing when it tries to do something weird and different with its world, through portals or timetravel. this story is not about those things and adding them is just, awkward. in a story about family and politics and the weight of life in this harsh world, suddenly bringing scifi elements in just falls flat and feels like someone trying to make complexity just for the sake of it. it takes the stakes from right out under your feet. the show has this same problem, which always frustrated me. instead of just cutting the weird dimension stuff it chose to lean more into the worst elements of the books. which is why i hated the second season so much. the monoliths are just not interesting. we dont need a reason for monsters being around, monsters are around because this is a fucking fantasy i dont need justification for the existence of a dragon in a fantasy novel. and to make it worse in the process of adding them in it got rid of the personal relationships between the witchers, the actually relevant past that still deeply affects geralt and ciri.
The third season shines because its additions were Personal. Radovid and Jaskier, Vilgefortz and Tissaia, Fringilla and Francesca, Cahir and Ciri, Yennefer and Tissaia. It’s why Yennefer and Jaskier were the bright spot of season 2, adding in more relationships, more emotion and personal goals was what this story sorely needed. It makes the boring windows of insight we get into the royal courts of the book Interesting.  It’s hard to care about war happening off screen, it’s easy to care about fringilla’s precarious position or di and phil’s annoyance with radovid. I’m so incredible excited that they’ve finally figured this out and i cannot wait to see what they do with some of the best interpersonal relationships actually present in the novels.

It has been far too long since I wrote one of these. I’ve gotten out of the habit. I’m also out of the habit of reading thoroughly in the way I long to, and best enjoy. It is thorough reading that lends itself to these reflective writing pieces, to tracking my thought process about a book. I have been in the habit of rushing through books for my book clubs during the busy school year. With the advent of summer break, I hope to return to that depth of reading and reflection. Let’s start with The Vegetarian.
I read this because I loved (and was disturb, challenged, and changed by) Human Acts. Han Kang has a new book out that I hope to read this summer as well. This book has much of the same dream-like thinking, gritty realism, complex psychology, and weighty symbolism that made Human Acts so compelling. Like Human Acts, the choices around narrative point of view (who tells their story and whose story gets told) feel deliberate, strategic, and powerful. This book felt a bit less mature as a novel than Human Acts, which makes sense given it’s an earlier work by Han Kang. I felt that the framework of metaphor and meaning was a bit harder to piece together here. There were more different loose threads and more questions remaining for the reader at the end of the book. I left the novel wanting just a bit more clarity, of the type that I had gotten from Human Acts.
That being stated, there was so much in this novel that was evocative and memorable, and which will stick with me—as imagery, as emotions, as concepts—over the years.
We begin with Yeong-hye’s dream. It’s the dream that moves her to stop eating meat early in the novel. The nature of this dream is revealed only in fragments, as Yeong-hye’s narrative point of view is never included (she is never given a voice, in her own story). In fragments scattered among her husband’s narration, we see parts of dreams (some of which, I later realized, draw on real memories from her childhood). This left me unsure of what Yeong-hye’s dream really was: the dog dragged in circles after her father’s motorcycle until death (later, it’s clear this is a memory)? A strange moment of cannibalism (bodies in a barn, teeth sinking into flesh)? A face in pain that repeatedly confronts her? The weight of all the dead things she has eaten settling over her heart, their bodies in her body? The dream that changes Yeong-hye could be all of these things, one of them, or none. The brutality in all these images is clear.
I deeply internalized this early explanation of Yeong-hye’s vegetarianism because it is—bizarrely, incredibly—exactly like my story. I became a vegetarian more than 13 years ago after a dream. I woke up the next day and I never ate meat again. Full stop. I have a different explanation I often give for my vegetarianism: that week, my town’s last small farm (one where my family had often volunteered our work efforts, and where we had befriended the generational farmer) went out of business. No longer able to survive as a small-scale, local operation in the face of climbing costs and competition from factory farms, the farmer went bankrupt. She needed to get rid of all her animals—about 200 sheep and 200 chickens, and 100 cattle—in 48 hours. My mom and I had helped with this, strategizing together, and my mom made phone calls to plead with people we knew to take some of these animals, so not every one would be sent to slaughter. This experience forms the backbone of my vegetarianism. Despite raising sheep and seeing other 4-H kids sending animals to slaughter, I understood that the real enemy was the factory farm operations in which animals were raised cruelly and unsustainably in order to drive down costs. I wanted to practice what I preached and one small way to do that was to not eat products I knew were coming out of the factory farming system.
This is the rational explanation I give about my conversion to vegetarianism. Even from myself, at times, I think I have hidden away the dream. The dream is what really changed me because—in the dream—I felt everything. I understood the horror of the factory farm on an emotional, not a rational, level. My dream feels hard to explain or share because words don’t adequately capture what it felt like, still so vivid in my memory all these years later. When the topic of my vegetarianism arises, I spend a lot of time not looking at my dream directly. In my dream, I was in a warm, dark space. There was the breathing of hundreds of other animals all around me. I could feel their presences and their bodies pressing in around me. I’m not sure what form my own body took, but I perceived the dream from the eye-level of the other animals. Among them, I felt a kind of individual invisibility, a kind of blended “togetherness.” But then, I suddenly understood what was coming. I saw with crystalline horror the future just in front of us, as we were being funneled out of this dark enclosure and slaughtered. Sliced at our soft throats, second jaws gapping, dangling. I could smell the blood. I could feel the deep terror in my body, like a cramping pain inside me. The certainty of death washed over me, and the need to stand in that certainty, to just anticipate it. I woke up, shocked awake.
The impossibility of adequately explaining how this dream felt to me, and how I woke up changed from it, makes the early fragmentation of The Vegetarian accessible to me. What is it to try to articulate the dream that redirected an essential thing? It’s better for us, the readers, to stay guessing a bit about what, exactly, is the dream. Anything less than this would feel cheap.
Yet, this novel, it quickly becomes clear, is not really about vegetarianism. Unlike Yeong-hye, my conversion to vegetarianism went that far and no farther. Yes, I know the people in my life responded much better than Yeong-hye’s did (in fact, all my immediate family members subsequently became vegetarians), but Yeong-hye enacts a complete disengagement with the exploitative world humans inhabit and normalize on a daily basis. What is this book really about? It’s about control, and gender. It’s about obsession, and art, and self-awareness. It’s about power, and nature, and what makes a life worth living (or ending).
The three narrators—Yeong-hye’s husband Mr. Cheong, Yeong-hye’s brother-in-law, and Yeong-hye’s sister In-hye—play out different responses, different levels of understanding, and different personal battles in the face of Yeong-hye’s increasing mental, emotional, and physical deterioration. While a key theme across the Han Kang books I’ve read is the problematic nature and impacts of the patriarchy (the violence, both physical and psychological, that men are permitted to enact on women), I felt a surprising amount of sympathy of a key male figure in this text: Yeong-hye’s brother-in-law. While Yeong-hye’s husband’s narration is repulsive in its dismissiveness of Yeong-hye’s inner life and personal experiences, and Yeong-hye’s father is revealed to be a key abuser in her childhood, Yeong-hye’s dynamic with her brother-in-law—while problematic—felt more mutually painful to me as a reader. I mention this because the brother-in-law’s narration feels like an area in the book of incredible nuance worthy of discussion. While it would be difficult to disagree about the problematic and outright morally wrong role of Yeong-hye’s husband and father, the role her brother-in-law plays is more complex. In-hye’s horror at discovering her husband and sister’s affair seems fully justified. She seems right to perceive her husband as taking advantage of her sister as her sister descends into madness. However, the brother-in-law seems to exhibit some striking similarities to Yeong-hye in a way that unites and binds them together. His obsession with the image of her Mongolian mark, and the flowers blooming on her, feels reminiscent of her obsession with the face from her dreams. An obsessive image is destroying him (his destruction includes that of his family, his role in his family, and his societal obligations). Distraught with obsession, both characters have something they want to get from the other, something they believe can be achieved by their union: relief. Viewed in this light, the brother-in-law seems as powerless in their affair as Yeong-hye does. Both are desperate, helpless, and mentally overwhelmed to the point of making choices they would not have made under normal circumstances. This feels like interesting commentary on human psychology, on the lengths we are willing to go to alleviate mental suffering, to distract or regain control of our own minds.
During this section of the novel, I wondered whether this brand of “vegetarianism” (obsession with plants, becoming plant-like oneself) could spreading from Yeong-hye to her brother-in-law. I tried to remember (and later Googled) the kind of fungus that inhabits and controls the human brain (turns out, this is only in Science Fiction…) This infectious plant theory feels like a too-literal explanation for a more figurative arc of the novel: what does it mean to consume or be consumed? What are all the different ramifications of consumption, of eating? In the third part of the novel, there is a similar expansion of Yeong-hye’s mental state to include and impact the person closest to her. In-hye’s does not understand her sister’s condition immediately or easily. She struggles to relate to her sister when she, herself, puts “making it work” and “holding things together” above all things in her life. But she comes to understand as she visits her dying sister in the mental hospitality and witnesses the cruelty of stripping Yeong-hye of her agency, of trying to force her back into life by maintaining her body, when it’s her will to live that is being squashed. As In-hye watches doctors force-fed her sister who refuses to eat, she sees the shadows of their past in which she choose stability over freedom (she chose to return herself and her sister to their abusive father, rather than run). She finally truly sees her sister’s transformation, and longing to change states and forms, the way she is “armored by the power of her own renunciation” of meat and, in this armor—like thick skin, like bark—Yeong-hye becomes incredibly plant-like (and increasingly free from her own mind/subjected to the consumption of others). The proximity of nature, the closeness of tree and woman, returns throughout this novel. Yeong-hye insists she does not need to eat, as she—like a tree—feeds from the sunlight. Her choice to not eat meat eventually becomes a choice to not eat at all, or to not eat in the way we humans understand eating…which involves consumption and eradication, rather than transformation.
There are several central images that, as I’ve mentioned, will remain with me. The death of the dog, both memory and dream, is one of these, as Han Kang is excellent at creating literal imagery with powerful metaphorical and philosophical resonance. This brutal scene immediately called to mind Achilles dragging Hector’s body around the walls of Troy, the public viciousness enacted by the victor, the visibility of brutality that is part of the process of control. It is not the same as violence conducted in secret. It is both more honest and more deeply performative. The second wave of metaphorical echo that flowed over me reading this scene was the Stations of the Cross, as Jesus carries the cross to his death and falls the first time, and falls the second time. This echo across the literary ages also highlights the brutality of humans (the acts of violence of which we are capable), but also the longing for redemption which is as fundamentally human as violence. Yeong-hye ate the dog meat. And, years later, her body seeks redemption, a kind of spiritual transformation, to purge that act of violence from the place in which it is held and remembered: the body. The physicality of Han Kang’s writing is as directly confrontational as I could imagine, and she pairs this physicality with deep moral complexity and nuance, so we are left seeking the meaning of these images that we—like Yeong-hye herself—cannot expunge from our minds.

S&B s2
I’m feeling unhappy with s2, and im not even completely sure why, so im gonna ramble my way through my thoughts and hope clarity finds me along the way. I might change my mind later and im not gonna be accurate about anything. I just feel weirdly dissatisfied with how the handled Alina and Aleksander especially, even though there’s arguably more hope for Darklina endgame than ever before??? It’s not gonna happen, realistically, but the potential is there.
Spoilers under the cut.
This season somehow felt flatter and more juvenile despite the higher stakes. The Darkling was portrayed almost cartoonishly evil, and while I didn’t expect Book!Darkling’s cunning from him, he was also a little bit too easily fooled for THE main antagonist. Likewise, his death felt anticlimactic and far too sudden. His last moments are spent pleading with and trying to prepare Alina for all that he fears is coming for her, and there’s no emotional reaction from anyone. His followers aren’t large numbers of frightened Grisha, desperately latching on to the stability and safety he offers, but a handful of violent, power-hungry fanatics who are all slaughtered in the end like the soulless villains the plot needs them to be. What was even the point if they were just gonna tell another generic good vs evil story? The thing that made the books stand out was that the heroine and the villain were polar opposites, mortal enemies, but that they were the only ones who truly understood what the other was going through. Who could see each other with a clarity no others could. The core of the series was that neither of them could budge in their goals and ideals, that they defined them, but that they still knew each other so intimately and could not stay apart. Even without the sexual/romantic angle, that premise was fascinating. Alina still killed her villain because it had to be done, but she mourned him, too. The show set this all up wonderfully, and then dropped it like a hot potato and never followed through. It feels like in order to make Alina into the Marketable Girlboss archetype all women with power must fall into, they had to rid her of all emotions except Power of Love!!1!, righteous outrage >:(   and humble saintly despair. What made Alina so appealing to me was the selfishness she struggled with. The wishes and desires for herself she felt that she couldn’t share with anyone. And a big part of that was the tether, and the temptation that came with it. The whole PURPOSE of it was to constantly offer her an easier way, an alternative, and that made her attempts to find her own path even worth anything. Book!Alina was in an incredibly difficult position. She faced in-fighting, opposition at every corner, distrust from the royal family and alienation from the army she was leading — and she was leading them. And the Darkling, who had lived all this first hand and sympathised and understood it all PERFECTLY, was constantly there with her offering her an easy way out. Her refusal is so powerful because she wants to accept, wants to lay down some of that weight, but knows others would pay the price and therefore cannot. Will not. Show!Alina severely lacks that complexity. The one moment she approaches Aleksander at all is pure manipulation, trying to get close enough to burn his hand out. And it’s probably meant to make her look cunning, and making choices that are morally grey, but instead it just makes the Darkling look dumb. It’s such a generic “You were right all along and I’m suddenly completely on your side” exchange. The tether scenes in general, which was supposed to be their common ground where neither can harm the other, are so incredibly one sided. Kirigan is always pleading with her, and Alina is always rejecting and condescending him, so why even have it??? Why introduce this mechanic if not to show humanity and nuance??? In Alina especially, Kirigan is actually doing fine in that regard for once. Show!Alina feels to me like what the Apparat wanted Book!Alina to be: a perfectly desire-less Saint whose only wish is to eradicate Heretics and marry her good orphan soldier friend. Her becoming General falls similarly flat. She announces herself leader of the second army, but immediately afterwards the old power structures crumble anyway and everyone is only on the run afterwards. She does not face any of the uglier sides of leadership, the diplomacy and everyday work necessary to protect the Grisha under her command, and so her “My beloved Second Army” speech in ep 7 feels completely undeserved. Girl, you’ve been here for like half a week. All four people in the room are on first name basis with you. In interviews its stated she would have to make difficult choices but I don’t see any!!! I don’t even see her leading!!! Her one struggle is that she might have to kill Mal, and that’s a personal conflict, not one that comes from her position as General of the Second Army, or even Saint or Future Queen. She’s not supervising the training of young grisha, or seeing how they are treated by nobles and first army, because both die like five minutes later. She’s not forced to deal with the King who looks down on her and her people, who raped her friend since childhood. There is no real struggle other than “How do we kill Kirigan”. Instead, Alina breezes through all of this on a plot-armoured airship of McMuffin hunts and self-righteousness. Her story, and by extension her character, feels incredibly hollow after her captivating arc of self-discovery last season. She kills her narrative foil and doesn’t feel anything, she happily makes plans as his body lies awkwardly in the shot. Where are the fucking EMOTIONs, or my god. Season 2 is okay I guess, definitely has its moments. But still, it’s such a downgrade. The ending is just that everything is fixed now because the new king is nice, actually :). There’s a teeny tiny hint that all those complicated things can still show up in her future, now that Alina doesn’t have the shield of a pretty, saintly power, but instead Aleksander’s reviled shadows. But unless they revive him to complete the narrative foil symbolism, I doubt it’s gonna be worth anything.
Other minor nitpicks:
Sea whip is tiny. Fetter design looks cool tho
Marie is never mentioned again, Nadja is never shown mourning and so Alina never even learns what happened to her
In order to keep everything completely black and white, 100% two-dimensional, Fedyor is completely written out of s2. He never appears again, never learns what happened to Ivan. A wonderful opportunity for nuance, lost
The amount of „epic battles“ this season that are just Grisha yelling and running at each other without summoning is a little ridiculous
in ep 7 where everyone was being eaten by volcra for a solid minute or so. and alina only decided to do shit once it was Mal. What was the script there, why was there so much dead space
That sword and everything about it. Hated it. Sankta Neyer and her thief husband were great, but that plot wasted so much time that could have been put into the main conflict.
The amount of „epic battles“ this season that are just Grisha yelling and running at each other is a little ridiculous. Either they are straight up not using their powers, or doing so at a light jog while rhythmically grunting.
Baghra is so down with murdering her child. No hesitation or conflict. They stripped her of her the one thing that made her interesting, which was rejecting her son but still never helping to move against him, because she does still selfishly love him.
Kirigan. Stop keeping your prisoners in the place all your important plans happen. That is so stupid.
Love how they insisted all Alina needs for the cut is practice and then she never practiced ever haha. And I don’t mean this in the Star Wars “Why can the heroine do anything if she didn’t go through gruelling training montages first?” way, I mean why did they specifically emphasise practice as the way to success if it would play no role whatsoever, not even the ATTEMPT at practice. The only experiment she did was way before that conversation, mind you.
“The world doesn't need a Saint to protect it. It needs a monster. And while I remain... Let me be your monster. […] There is no light without darkness. Without me, you have no counter, no balance. Let me carry the hatred of this world.” They really have this, followed up by him defending her against his monsters (“NO! Leave her alone!”) and kill him without a single tear????????? Im repeating myself but WHY
Alina’s cut looked beautiful. I wish she’d used it more often.
the overabundance of dresses and gloves and severe lack of kefta’s was visually unsettling
if nikolai was behind dreesen all along that means he’s the one responsible for Alexei getting interrogated and shot. That, much like Baghra’s murder attempt at Mal and Marie’s sacrifice, is never brought up again
On that note, Nikolai had that much money lying around to pay the crows???? Guess they dropped the “coffers are running dry” plotline too
“I wouldnt be here if it werent for my friends” youve barely talked all season. I miss the Zoya who questioned her for 2 books before somewhat warming up.
Fuck that sword, once again. Felt like runtime padding.

When Santana cries in the hallway and says "I used to love coming here, but now it just reminds me of everything that I've lost"
I know that the writers meant it as she lost Finn but because I'm a lit student I always analyse the shit out of everything so I always look at that like she's talking about a lot more than just Finn.
I always think its because she comes back to McKinley and shes reminded of all of her aspirations and what she wanted to achieve. Also specifically about Brittany. Because I would think that going back to McKinley would make her think about her and Brittany.
No idea why this disappeared from the inbox but I found it in the notifications. Thank you for sending it in again and for the patience.
I’m not a lit student but I can relate to wanting to analyse the shit out of everything haha. I think there can be more than Finn to it even if we don’t go digging that deep. The episode is about mourning Finn and Cory and I do believe Santana is struggling with the weight of that, but grief often brings out other strong emotions. Up to this point in the episode, that had been anger for Santana. But here she just looks exhausted and like she really is done with McKinley.
All of what you say and more is a part of it. That’s the best way to look at it, in my opinion. Although this feeling of being just done with Lima is brought on by Finn’s passing, it embodies all these different things that Santana had been holding onto and how wants to get rid of. Part of that is Brittany, as even here in The Quarterback Santana’s back where they fell in love but Brittany’s away at MIT and without her being there, walking down the hallways doesn’t feel right. Regarding her aspirations, I think Santana mostly just wants to be done with her high school persona and get the hell back to New York where she can at least hope to explore new things. McKinley also reminds her of how lost she was, and make no mistake, Santana in season 5A is still very much lost. But I also think she’s desperate to leave these heavy feelings behind and get back to her now cozy New York life.
When Santana says she used to love coming back, I’m assuming she’s referring to her season 4 returns when she hadn’t truly left McKinley yet. Finn and his leadership of the club was a big part of that and the weight of that, as well as her complicated relationship with Finn is hitting her. I’d like to think they ended in an okay place in season 4 and I’m delusional enough to pretend season 4 had a proper Finntana friendship. But still, with so much hurt in their history this is just way too heavy for Santana. And then you factor in Brittany, and then you add how miserable Santana was for most of high school, how she’s trying to escape that feeling of being lost, and it makes sense. It makes sense that she now associates McKinley with loss and she just wants to be done with it. I see her eagerness to go back to NYC as a bit of good old running away from problems, which do eventually catch up with her. But yeah bottom line is I agree that it’s a complex mess of many different things, including but not limited to Brittany.
Ever since I read the take that season 5 as a whole is best viewed through the lens of grief I haven’t been the same. I think grief is one of those things that bleeds into your everyday life, inevitably, and maybe other kinds of hurt bleed into grief, too. So it’s no wonder Santana feels so overwhelmed here, especially because she spends half the episode being incredibly closed off to even the idea of vulnerability. No wonder If I Die Young ends the way it does, no wonder she blows up at Sue the way she does. I don’t normally go into too much of an analysis with The Quarterback because, well, it’s a special case, but I do think there’s so much there. Particularly for Santana. I really like how they handle her in this episode.

Luxury Rehab: Overcoming Eating Disorders
Tumblr media
Eating disorders are a sensitive subject, yet it is vitally important to talk about them and help people who suffer from them get the support and care they deserve. These complex conditions, characterised by abnormal eating habits and intense distress regarding body weight or shape, need a caring and compassionate approach. For those seeking a path to recovery, luxury rehab in Spain offers a unique and effective option.
If you or someone you love has struggled with or is currently struggling with an eating disorder, you’ll know how difficult breaking free from these damaging behaviours can be. But with the right support and professional care, those suffering from eating disorders (EDs) can regain their strength and overcome these deeply ingrained behaviours and obsessive thoughts. In this article, we’ll discuss what the most common types of eating disorders are, how to identify them, and how luxury rehab can help.
Most Common Eating Disorders
Eating disorders can significantly affect an individual's physical health and emotional well-being. Understanding the most common types of EDs is crucial for recognising the signs and seeking appropriate treatment. Here are the three most prevalent eating disorders:
Anorexia Nervosa
This eating disorder is characterised by a distorted body image and an intense fear of gaining weight, leading to severe food intake restriction. Individuals with anorexia often perceive themselves as overweight, even when they are dangerously underweight.
Restricted eating: Extremely limited food intake and avoidance of certain foods or entire food groups.
Excessive exercise: Compulsive exercise routines to burn calories.
Physical symptoms: Extreme weight loss, fatigue, dizziness, and amenorrhea.
Bulimia Nervosa
This ED involves cycles of binge eating followed by compensating with behaviours such as vomiting, excessive exercise, or using laxatives to lose weight again. During binge episodes, individuals with bulimia often feel a lack of control over their eating.
Binge eating: Eating big amounts of food in a short period, often in secret.
Purging: Inducing vomiting, misuse of laxatives, or other methods to rid the body of food.
Physical symptoms: Swollen salivary glands, sore throat, gastrointestinal problems, and severe dehydration.
Binge Eating Disorder
Binge eating disorder (BED) is characterised by regularly eating large quantities of food, often quickly and to the point of discomfort, without subsequent purging behaviours. This disorder is associated with feelings of loss of control and guilt after eating. Signs to look out for include:
Frequent binge eating: Eating large amounts of food quickly, often when not physically hungry.
Emotional distress: Feelings of shame, guilt, and distress about binge eating behaviours.
Physical symptoms: Weight gain, obesity, and associated health issues like diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.
While these eating disorders are the most common, there are other EDs that also warrant attention:
Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID): This means restrictive eating patterns without the fear of gaining weight but leading to nutritional deficiencies and growth problems.
Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorders (OSFED): This includes eating disorders that don't fit neatly into the above diagnoses but still cause significant distress and impairment.
Understanding these eating disorders is the first step in recognising the need for help. Getting the right help and treatment early on can significantly improve outcomes, and luxury rehab in Spain offers the specialised care necessary to address these complex conditions comprehensively.
What is Luxury Rehab?
Tumblr media
Luxury rehab centres provide a comprehensive and holistic approach to treating eating disorders, offering a unique blend of medical expertise, psychological support, and therapeutic amenities. These facilities are designed to create a serene and nurturing environment that fosters recovery and well-being. With access to state-of-the-art medical care and highly qualified professionals, individuals receive personalised treatment plans tailored to their specific needs. The use of holistic therapies like yoga, meditation, and nutritional counselling helps address the root causes of eating disorders and promotes overall mental and physical health. Privacy and comfort are prioritised, ensuring that clients can focus on their recovery and not the distractions and stressors of everyday life. Luxury rehab centres not only aim to treat the symptoms of eating disorders but also strive to address any underlying psychological or emotional issues, empowering clients to achieve lasting recovery and a healthier relationship with food and their bodies.
Specialised ED Treatment
Tumblr media
At a luxury rehab clinic, the treatment of eating disorders begins with comprehensive and compassionate care tailored to the individual’s needs. The first critical step is to stop harmful behaviours, such as purging, by providing 24-hour supervision to ensure safety and adherence to treatment protocols. A dedicated nutritional therapist designs a balanced meal plan that the patient feels comfortable managing in the early stages of recovery.
Clients can work with caring and professional therapists and CBT practitioners to help change their thinking around food and escape the trap of thinking certain foods are “unsafe”. Luxury rehab in Spain will also help clients work on their body image, emotions, and stress management, using methods such as yoga and meditation to help them break free from food obsessions and start enjoying life once again!
How Caregivers Can Help
The earlier an ED is treated, the better. If you are a parent or caregiver who suspects someone you care for has an eating disorder, the best thing to do would be to take them to see their GP, discuss it with them and have the necessary development and weight checks carried out. Your GP will make referrals to help you get the help you need.
Rehab in Spain can be a great choice for extreme eating disorders, especially when you feel like it’s not possible for you to manage yourself at home. These residential eating disorder treatment centres can give your loved one the care they need and deserve, supporting them with a specialised and intense eating disorder treatment programme.
If your loved one is against receiving medical help at this time, many charities have online chatrooms and helplines where you can receive support and advice.
Eating disorders are dangerous mental health conditions that can seem impossible to overcome. But please remember that there is hope and that with the right care and support, you or your loved one can break free from these behaviours and get life back on track!

Contouring Confidence: Get Your Dream Body with Tummy Tuck Surgery
A healthy body is considered a requisite for a healthy mind. Prime physical health is necessary for emotional and mental stability, along with helping you keep up with your daily routine. Working on your fitness aids you in connecting with yourself, developing a positive body image, and approaching the world with utmost confidence. People often adopt exercising and dieting as means of shedding the extra pounds and staying in shape. However, at times, stubborn fat makes it impossible to achieve the body of your dreams. Weight gain during pregnancy, health issues, loose skin after weight loss, and other reasons are difficult to overcome with regular exercise. This is where a Tummy Tuck Surgery in Delhi comes into the picture.
Tummy Tuck Surgery, aka Abdominoplasty, is used for getting rid of excess skin and fat from the abdomen region. It also tightens the muscles in the region for a more firm and contoured look. However, you must consult only the best Plastic Surgeon in Delhi for this surgery. The surgery requires a nuanced understanding of your health conditions and ideal body shape, along with thorough post-op care.
Understanding How a Tummy Tuck Surgery Works
Tummy Tuck surgery is considered more complex than liposuction and other minor cosmetic procedures for a toned appearance. It is only recommended for people who are struggling with stubborn fat and have a healthy BMI (Body Mass Index). It is also noteworthy that the surgery is not an alternative to weight loss. Tummy Tuck Surgery is simply a body contouring surgery. You will have to ensure that no drastic changes appear in your weight before you undergo the surgery. Tummy Tuck Surgery in Delhi is customised as per the patients desired outcomes and health conditions. Typically, the surgery has three distinct types: Mini Tummy Tuck, Full Tummy Tuck, and Extended Tummy Tuck.
Extended Tummy Tuck: Losing considerable weight can often lead to sagging of skin. Loose skin can also become prominent after pregnancy. Extended Tummy Tuck is best suited for tightening abdominal muscles to get rid of this excess skin.
Full Tummy Tuck: If your area of concern lies above the belly button, then a Full Tummy Tuck would be more suitable for you.
Mini Tummy Tuck: Mini Tummy Tuck is the best treatment for people with fat in the lower abdomen or below the belly button. It also addresses visible scars in the lower abdomen region.
Depending on your ideal body goals and the type of surgery recommended by your surgeon, tummy tuck surgery can take anywhere between one to five hours to complete. At the hands of the best Plastic Surgeon in Delhi, your surgery and recovery will be a cakewalk. Aftercare for a Tummy Tuck surgery includes:
Getting proper rest for the 2-3 weeks following your surgery.
Avoiding lifting heavy weights
Keeping the site of the incision sheltered from direct sunlight for at least 12 months to avoid infection
Stay hydrated
One of the chief advantages of a Tummy Tuck surgery is the surge of confidence that comes with a toned and contoured beauty. The tightened muscles also aid in improving your posture. Wake up each day to look and feel your best.

Weight Gain and Emotional Restraints: How Ayurvedic Weight Gainers Help
Wishing to change your body shape and size takes a lot of determination and courage. Gaining weight is as complex as losing some if not more. It takes more than just increasing your diet, gaining weight requires strategic planning and balancing of diet and exercise and a considerable investment of your time in the same.
One has to note that results of natural methods take time, sometimes the results are delayed and this can cause emotional distress. Gaining weight can also have some emotional repercussions. In this article, we will look at the major emotional restraints that can impact your weight gain journey and how an Ayurvedic weight gainer can help you overcome those emotional boundations naturally.
Does an inferiority complex from being underweight hinder your weight gain journey?
Tumblr media
I am sure your sheer determination to gain weight must have come from a trigger that you might want to get rid of. More often than not, people who have faced taunts and bullying for being underweight are the ones who look for quick solutions to gain weight easily.
This myth of easy and fast weight gain should be dismissed and erased from your brains as quickly as possible. The progress is a gradual process, everything ranging from a healthy diet to extensive workout takes time.
Sometimes, we do not realise that our triggers have a strong hold on us. The inferiority that you might have felt earlier has the potential to make you expectant to get fast results out of doing bare minimum. We suggest that you check your methods, note them down and make a habit of noting down daily progress that can help you keep track of your performance so that you are not stressed.
Can gaining weight lead to stress?
Tumblr media
More often than not people who are working towards gaining muscles lose hope and their overeating gets triggered. Changing your body to your desirable shape and size takes a toll on your mental wellbeing. Stress can be caused due to many other factors such as workload or piled up exercise deadlines. You might not be achieving your other goals like academic or job related, or you might be stuck at the same workout routine and unable to increase your limit. You might want to quit healthy food and go back to junk, you might want to quit everything and go back to your old self.
Whenever, thoughts like this cross your mind, always remind yourself the reason why you started your journey. Several components in your diet might also be the reason for your stress. Reassure yourself and track your progress that could help you overcome your distress and get back on track.
How do Ayurvedic weight gain tablets help in overcoming stress and gaining healthy weight?
Tumblr media

Mental Health’s Central Role in Drug Rehabilitation Center
Addiction to drugs is a tough and complex problem that needs more than just traditional good old-fashioned rehab. Even though a drug rehabilitation center like Arision Treatment knows how important physical detox is, the role of mental health in long-term recovery is getting more and more attention. During the withdrawal stages, just as our bodies scream, our minds go through a storm of feelings and thoughts that can be just as painful and seemingly chaotic. Because of this, mental health care is an important part of a complete approach to drug treatment.
How Drug Use And Mental Health Are Tied Together
In a drug rehab center, we start our trip with detox. But when the toxins leave our bodies, we’re often left with the raw scars of mental events that may have caused the addiction or made it worse, in the first place. Substance abuse and mental health problems, like sadness, anxiety, or PTSD, often go hand in hand. Arision Treatment knows that treating these mental health problems is just as important for real healing as getting rid of toxins from the body. Trying to treat addiction without addressing the mental problems that cause it is like putting a band-aid on a cut that needs stitches.
Entering a drug recovery center can be a hard and emotional thing to do. At Arision, we know how important it is to create a welcoming and helpful environment that encourages healing and growth. Our experienced and caring staff members work hard to make sure that each person feels understood, respected, and supported throughout their recovery process.
The Emotional Effects Of Drug Abuse
After the rehab stage, when people are no longer so dependent on drugs, a new fight begins. The guilt of what they’ve done in the past, the weight of mending broken relationships, and the fear of relapsing. It’s hard on the mind, and the success of a drug rehab center depends on how well it can help its patients feel safe and supported during this sensitive time. Arision Treatment makes sure people have a safe place to be and offers therapy classes to help them work through their feelings. This makes people more resilient and determined to move forward.
Therapeutic Practices That Go Beyond Traditional Methods
One-on-one therapy is great, no doubt. But the way mental health care is handled in a place for drug rehab is changing. Arision is also committed to holistic treatment, so it gives many different types of therapy. From group therapies where people share and listen to each other to art and music treatments that let people express themselves in ways that words can’t. These new kinds of therapy are designed to meet the needs of different people, so that everyone can find their own way to get better.
Arision Treatment places a high emphasis on employing evidence-based methodologies within our treatment programs. Our clinical staff remains informed about current research and adheres to best practices to ensure that our users receive the most efficacious and evidence-based therapies that are currently accessible. A variety of evidence-based methods, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), are utilized to facilitate enduring recovery.
Continuing The Road After Rehabilitation
The time spent in a drug rehab center is not the end of the road to healing. Care for mental health goes beyond. Continuous coaching, joining support groups, or even just checking in from time to time are all important parts of long-term healing. The dedication of our team at Arision doesn’t change when you leave their building. Our care and strategies after rehab make sure that people are mentally ready to face the world. This makes it less likely that they will return and keeps them moving forward.
Putting More Focus On The “Mental” In Rehabilitation
As we wrap up, let’s go back to a basic truth: Physical detox is a big step, but it’s only the start. The real test of how good a drug rehab center is is how well it gets its patients’ minds ready for life after addiction. In this way, Arision Treatment shines, because it shows how important mental health is to the overall story of healing. Making sure that everyone who leaves is not only free of drugs but also mentally strong enough to face the world with fresh energy.
Thinking About The Big Picture
In the world of drug treatment, it’s time to stop just focusing on the body and start thinking about how important mental health is. A drug rehab center like Arision Treatment which really wants its patients to succeed knows how to strike this delicate balance. So, detox might be the starting point, but mental health care is the road that leads to the finish line, where a person is stronger, better, and ready to face the future. Join us in this drive toward holistic health, and together we can change what it means to be successful in rehab.
