i just saw a post that was like “do u recognize this queer character” and it was fucking castiel with a little blurb like “cas is agender/genderfluid and their pronouns change!” and as a queer supernatural fan this means nothing because that’s literally just all angels. it’s not groundbreaking representation and i think we can acknowledge the fact that a lot of queer folks identify with castiel while also remembering that spn is a show that reflects the dominant culture of cisheteronormativity with a cast of mostly straight folks marketed to an audience of mostly straight folks
