Howard Roberts - “Lady Wants to Know” Swingin’ Jazz for Hipsters, Volume 1 Song released in 1978. Compilation released in 1997 Jazz
Howard Roberts might just be the most ubiquitous guitarist in American history. Most people probably don’t know his name, or even the fact that he was one of the greatest jazz guitarists who ever lived, but even if you haven’t heard of Howard Roberts, it’s pretty much a guarantee that you have heard him. Despite his preference for jazz, he can be heard on hundreds of film soundtracks, dozens of TV shows, and thousands of songs. He’s played with Peggy Lee, Dean Martin, Chet Atkins, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Ray Charles, Sammy Davis, Jr., the Beach Boys, Nat King Cole, Little Richard, Ella Fitzgerald, the Jackson 5, Sonny and Cher, the Supremes, and the Monkees. He’s even referred to as the sixth Monkee for appearing on so many of the band’s recordings throughout the 60s. He was part of the legendary Wrecking Crew, a collective of L.A. session musicians, as well as Phil Spector’s Wall of Sound.
You can hear Roberts’ guitar in The Twilight Zone theme song, the Gilligan’s Island theme song, I Love Lucy, The Munsters, Bonanza, The Brady Bunch, Green Acres, Get Smart, Batman, Beverly Hillbillies, The Andy Griffith Show, Peter Gunn, Lost in Space, Dragnet, Wild Wild West, Mission: Impossible, The Odd Couple, Dick Van Dyke, I Dream of Jeannie, The Bill Cosby Show, Hawaii Five-O, The Jetsons, Little House on the Prairie, The Partridge Family, Petticoat Junction, The Flintstones, and The Addams Family. Movies his playing appears in include Barefoot in the Park, Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, Bullitt, Bye Bye Birdie, Camelot, Cool Hand Luke, Dirty Harry, The Exorcist, Forrest Gump, Hud, The Longest Yard, Our Man Flint, The Pink Panther, Slap Shot, West Side Story, and The Wild Bunch.
So, there’s like a near-100% chance you’ve heard Howard Roberts, but you probably just didn’t know it.
Howard Roberts was born in Phoenix and by age 18 had migrated to L.A., where he assumed the role of a starving artist. But by playing in the right clubs and having an immense guitar talent, he was noticed and his career grew. He was a super versatile player, able to adapt to just about any style, as evidenced in the aforementioned lists. But his true love was jazz, and as a jazz guitarist, he recorded over a dozen albums. In 1978, he did a one-off with the now-legendary west coast label Concord Jazz called The Real Howard Roberts. On that album appears a sweet song called “Lady Wants to Know”.
“Lady Wants to Know” has Howard Roberts playing a guitar that has that beachy, upwardly inflected, smooth jazz quality to it, and for a good bit of the song, that style predominates. But the compilation this song appears on is called Swingin’ Jazz for Hipsters, so it’s got to swing. And it does. Starting at about the 1:05 mark and lasting until about 2:50, Roberts and his backers revert back to a style of playing that’s reminiscent of some of our favorite 50s and 60s jazz records. Roberts ditches relaxing melodies for a faster, more advanced style, packing way more notes into phrases and almost sounds improvised. And on the back end of the swing segment, he allows Ross Tompkins to shine on piano.
A pretty cool late 70s hybrid of smooth jazz and swing, led by a guitarist you’ve definitely heard before.

LADY IN THE BOTTLE
Another take on if things had gone differently...
Lady In The Bottle
I Dream of Jeannie
^^^
Tony heaved a sigh of relief as he watched Melissa and the General walk out the door. He closed it firmly and leaned his tall six foot frame against the closed door. Oh my God. What have I got myself into? If the General and Melissa found out? His name was mud. He was done for. He turned back, exasperated, to the giggling sounds coming from the bottle. Suddenly he saw smoke coming from it as Jeannie reappeared in his living room. She was on the floor in a crouched position, laughing hysterically.
He grabbed her with one arm and pulled her to her feet. “Now look you --" he began only to be stopped cold as she wrapped her arms firmly around his neck and started kissing him full on the mouth. He groaned, meaning to push her away but found himself responding to her kiss as she put her tongue in his mouth. He felt the sudden heat of desire as he felt the warm softness of her harem costume clad body pressing against his. With a determined grunt, he gently set her from him while trying in vain to settle the way his body was reacting to her. Damn but she was beautiful with her silky blonde hair and big green eyes that could swallow a man whole. “Jeannie,” he muttered softly. “This can’t continue. I have a fiancee. I can’t. I just can’t.”
Jeannie looked up at him and giggled. He was so good looking with his dark blue eyes and dark brown hair. She had loved him from the first moment she had seen him when he released her from her bottle. She shook her head. No matter what he said she was not leaving him. Not ever. He kept thinking that he was happy with the other woman, but she knew instinctively that he was not. She was not good for him. She was manipulative and controlling. Jeannie had an innate ability to read people and she was not a good person. Besides, she did not love Tony. She giggled again and tried to put her arms around him again.
Tony reached out and pulled her arms away from him. He shook his head. “No. Jeannie. I said no. I am going to bed. I want you gone by the time I get up in the morning. Understood?” he told her firmly.
Jeannie nodded and giggled as she watched him go into the bedroom. Shaking her head she morphed into the pink smoke and reemerged in the bedroom. She smiled at the sight of Anthony dressed just in his boxers. She reached out and put her arms around him again. She started to kiss him.
Tony shook his head determined and tried to put her from him. He groaned as his body once again responded to the feel of hers pressed against him. “Now. Stop that. Stop at once.” He ordered her. He moaned with pleasure as she started caressing his already hard member. He looked down at her. She’d blinked herself into a pink sheer nightgown that hid nothing from his gaze. He sighed and held her closer in response and began to kiss her back. Oh God he realized… I am lost with this woman…
Tony woke up sometime later and gazed at the  woman pressed against him in the dark of the night. Naked, only her long blonde hair hid her from his gaze. He’d tried to resist her but she was so beautiful and the feel of her softness when pressed against him. Oh God, he’d been unable to resist. He was starting to have deep feelings for a woman he’d just met, for a woman he hardly knew. This was dangerous. He knew that. He’d have to find a way to resist her and not act on this again. He’d made love to her, but it couldn’t happen again. He groaned and pulled her closer to him. He was in trouble and he knew it.
^^^
Two months later.
Jeannie smiled as she lightly dusted Tony’s living room and backyard patio.  She was happily singing in ancient Persian while cleaning and watering his plants. Garbed in her harem costume, she was content. She had been here for two months now, and she was content and happy.  Two months since that magical night that she had spent in Anthony’s arms. Two months since he had released her from her bottle on the deserted island. Though he had not allowed a repeat of that magical night, she was content and happy. She had been living in her bottle here with her Master. She smiled. He had ended his engagement at least. She sighed and glanced at the clock. He would be home from NASA soon. He still had not told anyone about her being here with him, although she had managed to wreak havoc every now and then. She giggled. She had something to tell him. She wondered how he was going to react to her news. She smiled and lightly patted her belly.
Tony Nelson smiled at Jeannie as he stepped into his living room. He hung his uniform hat and jacket into the closet and loosened his tie. Sighing he gratefully accepted the cocktail she’d made him and eased himself down onto his living room sofa. He reached out a hand and pulled her down to sit beside him. She’d blinked herself into a light yellow summer dress with a fluffy tie at her neck. Her blonde hair was down and flowing gracefully down her back. Damn but she was beautiful. “How was your day?” he asked her. In the two months since she’d been here with him, he’d gotten used to her being here. She’d slowly become a good friend and companion in spite of himself. She was starting to mean something to him and that made her dangerous. If his colleagues ever found out about her and what she was.
Jeannie smiled. “Just the usual things, Master. I cook and clean. I watch that thing you call TV over there. They do some crazy things, Master.” She replied. She began to softly massage his tense shoulders. “You look tired,” she murmured.
Tony sighed with relief as he felt her soft hands ease the tension from his tight neck and shoulders. “I am. The test flight was today, but it didn’t go well. In the end, they had to abort because of a mechanical problem with the plane. Frustrating to have all that hard work in the planning come to naught.” He replied.
She nodded. She pulled him back until his back rested against her. She held him for a moment and sighed. “Yes. I can imagine.” She returned. Though they had never repeated that night, they still had a quiet intimacy between them. She was like his girlfriend but like she was not. It was weird because Jeannie wanted to be with him in all ways like before. Time, she realized. He would come around. He wanted it too. She could feel it. She loved him desperately. And he loved her. She instinctively knew it. She sighed. She had something to tell him.
Tony eased himself away from her and looked downn into her big green eyes. “What?” he asked finally. It alarmed him at how well he could read this girl’s feelings. “What’s wrong?  You have something bothering you.” He gazed at her. “Spill it, woman.”
Jeannie nodded. She swallowed hard. She gazed up into his eyes. She sighed and looked downward again. “I am pregnant, Master. It seems like our one night has, -- I am going to have a baby.” She told him softly.
Tony took a deep breath and sighed. He lifted her chin so she was looking at him. He stared deeply into her big green eyes. Eyes that could swallow a man’s soul. Genie eyes. His genie and now she was pregnant. “You’re sure?”
Jeannie nodded. “Yes. I waited. I had Mama have our physician examine me, “ she began, “I am scared, Anthony.” She confessed, using his given name.
Tony smiled and pulled into his arms and held her against him. He lightly kissed the softness of her hair, enjoying its sweet smell. “Don’t worry. It will be all right. We’re in this together. That night huh?” he whispered.
She nodded happily against him, tightening her arms around him. “Yes. We were both a little wild, if I remember.” She answered, giggling softly.
Tony laughed. “Yes. I was pretty potent. I hadn’t been with a woman in a while.” He confessed. “I tried. I really tried,” he began, “but I couldn’t keep my hands off you. I couldn’t resist you.” He continued.
Jeannie nodded. “I know. I was the same. I wanted you just as badly.” She replied.
Tony nodded and bent down to lightly kiss her soft lips. “I know.”
Jeannie looked at him warily. “So what now?”
Tony merely tightened his hold on her. “You’re pregnant with my child inside you. We deal with it. We become parents. We’re in this together. Together.” He told her. He put out a hand to lightly caress her abdomen. “Together.”
Jeannie smiled. “But what about your friends? Your colleagues?”
He shook his head. “We tell them I have a girlfriend and that she’s pregnant. Nothing else. The other things are none of their business. I am not about to reveal your secrets Jeannie. Besides they wouldn’t believe us anyway.” He assured her.
Jeannie laughed and wrapped her arms around his neck again. She sighed happily. “You are right. Am I your girlfriend, Anthony?” she asked him.
Tony nodded and kissed her again. “That and a whole lot more. And you know it. You’ve been under my skin since that day on the beach.”
Jeannie smiled and felt her eyes dampening. “I know.” She took a deep breath. “I have loved you since the first moment I laid eyes on you.” She murmured.
Tony felt his own eyes grow moist. “I know.” He pulled her closer and held her tightly against him. He was in trouble. Though not ready to admit it, he loved her every bit as much.

Love this.
Written by Jay Tom. THIS IS US!
I was raised on a few streets in Baltimore City. The area code was 301 (later changed to 410) for every house/apartment. Cell phones didn’t exist & beepers came in the late 80’s early 90’s. On the streets, all you had was pay phones for $.10 a call. We had designer clothes that came from stores at Mondawmin Mall, Reisterstown Road Plaza or Security Square Mall. Remember the big Montgomery Ward warehouse or even Hechts. You had money if you could go there or JCPenney. We wore what our parents bought us or we worked to get what we wanted.
$3.50 steak and cheese with everything on it. Remember the twin brothers that worked in the carry out on Park Heights. How about a box of shrimp fried rice or Yok. What about an onion pickle & UTZ potato chips. There was nothing like an egg custard (or any flavor) snowball on a hot summer day. You’re bugging if you disagree...
$1.25 got you a bag of chips, Hostess cake of your choice, a quarter water, some gum, a pack of sunflower seeds, & don’t forget the $.05 piece of Bazooka!!! If you had $5, you were lit!
When you got home from school you took your book bag off, took your school clothes off, did your homework as soon as you walked in and went right back outside.
The tv shows we watched during the week were Gilligan’s Island, Get Smart, Hogan’s Hero, MASH, The Addams Family, The Monkees, The Brady Bunch, I Love Lucy, The Beverly Hillbillies, Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, Leave it to Beaver, The Three Stooges, Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, Mork & Mindy, Family Ties, Good Times, The Jefferson’s, Sanford & Son, Benson, Soap, What’s Happening and more.
We played Handball, Tag, DodgeBall, Football, Basketball, Skelly, Kickball, Hopscotch, Red light green light, tin can alley, double-dutch, the list goes on & on.....( I also played spades, monopoly, taunk, checkers, scrabble, clue, life, go fish and more with neighborhood friends.) LMG
We were in the streets all day. Staying in the house was almost unheard of. If you weren’t outside, everyone knew you were on punishment. In the summer, we went swimming all day & in the winter, we had snow ball fights.
TV was everything on Friday night and Saturday morning cartoons. We watched Ghost Host, Charlie’s Angels, Six Million Dollar Man, Bionic Woman, Scooby Doo, Speed Racer, Pink Panther, Bugs Bunny, WWF, School House Rock, ABC After School Specials, Godzilla (Captain Chesapeake), and more. Remember when the tv went off @ midnight & after the star spangled banner, you got the snow.
We didn’t need tv remotes. We were the tv remotes.
We paid less than 5.00 to get in the movies & saw 2 movies
Bored??? Ha! We walked or rode the bus anywhere in the city. Uptown, downtown, across town. Remember, you could ride all day on Sunday on 1 fare. On the weekends, you either went to Druid Hill Park, the Inner Harbor or Hopkins Plaza to meet up with your friends that didn’t live in your immediate neighborhood. Those were the hangout spots.....with no trouble.
Your block stoop was legendary in the whole hood. We weren't AFRAID OF ANYTHING!! We lived for the black outs in the summer time.
We played until the street lights came on & if you had a curfew; your mom screamed your name out the window.
School was mandatory & the cool teachers made it fun. We watched our mouths around our elders as best we could because everyone knew you and who your parents were. They would make sure to let your parents know they had to say something to you because you was out here wilding out.
There were plenty of clubs like Odell’s, Godfrey’s, Signals, as well as Pascal’s & Giovanci’s.
These were the good ole days.
I loved my childhood...!!!
Kids these days will never understand how we grew up!!!
***Good Times***
Copy & Paste if this is how you grew up in Baltimore!

Back to Zero CHAPTER TWO
He approached the imposing door with a sense of caution. He admittedly hadn’t been in here much during the last few months; Mrs. Forman checked on Jackie every day, twice a day, and Donna had been in at least once every other day, or whenever she could get a break away from Madison. Fez had practically lived in this room, until the hospital staff had to kick him out.
But he had spent the better half of nearly three months avoiding it. The few times he decided to come in, nothing had changed. Jackie was still deathly pale, with those damn tubes the only things to keep her breathing. The scar on her cheek served as a reminder of his hard-headedness; would she have still ended up here if he had stayed to let her explain? Or if he had given her a different answer before she left Point Place? He didn’t like to dwell on what-if’s - his life was one that was already rife with regret - but he couldn’t help it in here. And that’s why he stayed away.
Taking in a deep breath, he pulled down on the handle and opened the door. She looked much better than he saw her last; those damn tubes were finally gone, and she’d clearly talked Mrs. Forman into letting her use some makeup. Jackie was a natural beauty, but he knew doing her makeup let her feel some sort of control that she didn’t have otherwise. When her dad went to prison and her mom split, Jackie had hit the mall - and the makeup stores - hard.
But she was still very much bandaged up, and he could see her wince in pain. He frowned.
Jackie looked up with a wide smile, which quickly diminished when she saw who stood in the doorway. Happiness turned to a flicker of heartbreak, then annoyance, finally settling on sheer anger. Clearly, she’d been expecting someone else - Fez, most likely. His jaw tensed at the thought.
“Oh. It’s you,” she said, as if he were some stranger she had met and immediately taken a strong dislike toward.
“Expecting someone else?” he asked calmly, mustering up as much Zen as he could so his ex-chick wouldn’t notice his inner despair. Damn that Jackie Beulah Burkhart and what she could make him feel.
“Yeah. My boyfriend,” she replied.
“Well he’s standing in front of you.”
“Really? Last I checked, you aren’t Fez.”
He crossed his arms. “Well, three months ago, I was your boyfriend.”
“That was before you ran off to Vegas and married the stripper,” Jackie said.
“Wrong. I was on my way to Vegas when I had to turn back because of blocked roads from a car pileup - which I later found out you and Kelso were involved in.”
“Look, I don’t know what you and Mrs. Forman have been drinking, but there wasn’t an accident. I left my job and Chicago, went back to Point Place to explain to you what happened to Michael, found out you were gonna propose -”
He had to stop himself from displaying the shock he felt. No one knew that, not Donna, not Forman, not Mrs. Forman. The only person who had figured it out was Red, and that was because the older man had confiscated the bag he had the ring stashed in, thinking it contained something green. In hindsight, he probably shouldn’t have stuck an engagement ring in a brown bag, but where else was he gonna put it? Jackie would’ve known the moment she saw his pocket, he couldn’t really stick it in his boot and no way was he gonna wear a coat. So he placed it next to the cheeseburger wrapped in tinfoil, which had long since been eaten by Fez.
Man, she was still talking. “- and so you told me you weren’t ready to get married yet, and I was happy to hear you say yet, and then some blonde stripper skank shows up at the Formans’ door and says she’s your wife and suddenly she’s moving into your room and parading around half-naked in her wannabe Jeannie clothing and teaching Mrs. Forman how to pole dance.”
He blanched. That was an image he had never needed to imagine. “Look, Jackie, that was all a dream, okay? You and Kelso got into a crash and you’ve been in the hospital for the last few months. I didn’t go to Vegas, and the only stripper I met is the one at Forman’s bachelor party, who I can assure you I didn’t marry. But,” he added, “I wouldn’t object to you parading around half-naked in Jeannie clothing.”
“Dream on,” she sneered. “I’ll show the milkman before I show you.”
He resisted the urge to roll his eyes. What was she on about now? “What does the milkman have to do with this?”
“You tell me. You’re the one who said I should hook up with him.”
This time, he did roll his eyes. “Jackie. C’mon, man. Does that really sound like something I’d say?”
“You’ve said and done a lot of things these past few months that I never thought you would, Steven.”
“That wasn’t me!” he said. “But thanks for dreaming me up as some asshole.”
“It wasn’t a dream! I don’t know if you and Mrs. Forman are in on some major burn with the others or something, but it’s 1980, I’m with Fez, you’re alone and Eric is back! I’m not sure how I ended up in this hospital bed, but it wasn’t from a car pileup with Michael.”
“It’s 1979, you were with me until you went to Chicago and Forman is still in Africa. And trust me, the crash did happen.”
“So he and Donna are still broken up?”
“What are you talking about, man? Forman and Donna are doing the long-distance thing. You knew that. I think she’s written him like every other week and he’s responded when he can.”
“Right. Eric breaks up with Donna in a letter, and then she gets together with Randy.”
“And I thought you going on about the milkman was crazy. There’s no way in hell Forman would ever break up with Donna through a letter. They’ve been solid since they got back together, attempted wedding and all.”
“Well he does,” Jackie said, “and she moves on with Randy. Ask him. Ask him about the milkman, too; he was there when you said it. Or ask Donna.”
“Jackie. I’m not going to ask some guy I barely know if I said shit I know I didn’t say.”
“What do you mean, you barely know him? He works for you at Grooves! He’s been hanging out in the basement every day!”
“Assuming we’re talking about the same guy, the only Randy I know is Randy Pearson, who hangs around the store every day and doesn’t know anything about music. There’s no way I’d hire him.”
“Yes! Randy Pearson! The new Eric!” Jackie said.
He raised an eyebrow. “‘The new Eric?’”
“He was dating Donna, he likes Star Wars apparently and he really likes his hair.”
“So he’s basically Forman and Kelso. Why didn’t you just dream them up?”
“For the last time, it wasn’t a dream! Besides, Eric was in Africa and Michael went to Chicago.”
“Well that might be the only thing you got right. Forman is in Africa and Kelso does live in Chicago.”
“I know. He went back after I turned down his proposal.”
This conversation was really grating on his nerves. She had even dreamed Kelso proposing to her? He knew she had never gotten over her ex, but did she have to be so callous about it? And why could she never see that she could do better than Kelso? In fact, had done better than Kelso? This was one of the weakest spots in their relationship; he could easily recall the hurt he felt when his chick accepted Kelso’s fuzzy pink sweater. Thankfully, she’d thrown it back and ended the night wearing nothing but his Zeppelin shirt. Man, if they could rewind all the crap and go back to that night, that would be fantastic.
“What proposal? Kelso got with Brooke not even a month after the crash.”
“He proposed to me! Bought me a balloon and everything, at Mr. and Mrs. Forman’s anniversary party. You were all there, well, except Eric, of course and your stripper skank wife didn’t leave your side the whole night.”
“Kelso never proposed to you. And I’m not married.”
“Of course you’re not married,” Jackie said.
He placed his hands behind his neck, working out the kinks he blamed solely on her and her godforsaken nightmare. Nightmare was the only word to define this shit. “You just said I was married.”
“No, you’re not. You’re alone. The stripper let you think you were married, but she’s actually married to some old guy named Larry.”
“So not only did you dream me up an asshole, but you also let my fantasy self become a bigamist. Thanks,” he said, words thick with sarcasm.
“Whatever,” Jackie said. “Just go get Fez.”
“Fine,” he said. “Maybe he can talk some sense into you.”
“Or you could apologize.”
“Apologize? For what?”
“Let’s see, where do I begin,” Jackie said, ticking off on her fingers. “Convincing yourself I slept with Michael when the only reason he was in my motel room in the first place was because he thought Brooke was with another guy -”
“I know,” he interrupted. “It was Betsy’s babysitter.”
“- Not letting me explain and running off to Vegas,” she continued, as if he hadn’t spoken. “Worrying Mrs. Forman and all of us sick when you didn’t even try to make contact, getting drunk and marrying the stripper skank -”
“Whose name is?” he asked.
“Sam,” she said.
“Ah.” He didn’t even know any Sams. The hot Samantha played by the even hotter Elizabeth Montgomery on Bewitched was the only contact he had with anyone whose name might be close to Sam. Surprisingly, all the girls in his high school had been named Cheryl, Amber or Tiffany, or some other cheerleader name. The few that weren’t were Donna, Rhonda, Melissa, Alana. Now that he thought about it, Point Place parents of the kids his age really liked to give their children names that ended with an “A” - well, except Caroline.
“- deciding to stay with her even though Mrs. Forman and Red both asked you if that was what you wanted - I believe your words were ‘It’s cool’ -”
Well, if he said that, Jackie should’ve known he was lying. For him, “It’s cool” had the same sort of meaning as “Whatever.” And even though she thought the worst of him now for some reason he really didn’t understand, he was sure she still understood his use of “Whatever.” He hadn’t patiently coached her through a 20-minute lesson for nothing.
“- and then letting her sit on your lap and hang around in the basement and basically show her off every time I came over so I would know that you never cared about me-”
The remnants of cheese grease and the tiny box in the brown bag hanging around his sock drawer said differently.
“- and then when I had the gall to move on and started crushing on Fez, you slutshamed me!”
“An asshole, a bigamist and a slutshamer. I guess now I know what you really think of me,” he said. Annoyance didn’t even begin to describe how he felt right now.
“If you want to fix this, you can start with an apology,” she said.
“I’m not going to apologize for something I did and said in your dream - your really uncharacteristic dream.”
“Then I guess we’re not going to fix this.”
He shuffled his feet and stuck his hands in his pockets. “Guess not.”
“Can you go get Fez now?” she asked, pulling out a compact mirror and a mascara brush.
“No,” he said.
“Steven. I want to see my boyfriend!”
“And like I keep telling you, Fez isn’t your boyfriend. If we aren’t going to be together anymore, then you’re alone.”
“Well we’ll see what Fez has to say about that.”
“Whatever,” he said.
“Steven?” she asked.
He sighed. “Yeah?”
“Bring in Michael, too. And don’t let Donna get anywhere near here.”
“Whatever,” he said again. Considering Donna might be the only one who could get Jackie out of her fantasy life and into the real world, he would do everything in his power to make sure she did get to see the brunette.
Because there was no way in hell he was losing Jackie again. The past few months he spent thinking he would never see her open those beautiful eyes, that he would have to go through life without his doll rambling away on his lap, were such an eye-opener, and he had resolved that when she did wake up, he wasn’t going to let her leave his side. If she didn’t want to stay in Point Place, he was willing to move to Chicago. He had already talked to WB about opening a store in the city, which meant enduring his biological father’s teasing comments about being a romantic sap.
And he’d be damned if he let some hellhole dream rip her out of his life for good.

What is Killian’s name?
Can we speculate on what Killian’s cused name is going to be.  You can see in the trailer that his last name will be Rogers, so lets guess his first name. My guess would be
James (Captain James Hook in Peter Pan)
Here is why i think james might be his name
got this from IMDB trivia for once upon a time.  if after reading this you have a better suggestion i would love to hear it because i dont really like the name james for Killian  Names for many characters in Storybrooke are often coordinated with their fairy tale counterpart. For example:
Mary Margaret Blanchard (Snow White): Blanchard derives from the French word "blanc" or "blanche" for white. The name "Mary Margaret" is from a real-life woman believed to be the inspiration of the Snow White character named "Maria Sophia Margaretha Catharina Freifräulein Von Erthal" (born on June 15, 1729 in Germany).
Regina Mills (Evil Queen): Regina is a Late Latin and Modern Italian feminine noun and name meaning "queen". Regina's grandfather was a Miller so that is a connection to her last name.
David Nolan (Prince Charming): The masculine name David means "darling" or "beloved." In Biblical text, it is also the name of the shepherd who became King David after defeating the Goliath the giant. Nolan is a Gaelic name meaning "noble," "fighter," or "champion."
Mr. Gold (Rumpelstiltskin): Rumpelstiltskin spun straw into gold in his story.
Ruby (Red Riding Hood): A ruby is a pink to blood-red colored gemstone.
Ashley Boyd (Cinderella): Cinders precede ashes in the burning process. Boyd derives from the Gaelic word "buidhe" meaning yellow-haired.
Sidney Glass (Mirror): Because another word for mirror is glass or looking glass. Also, his newspaper is called "The Mirror." Sidney's character as the Queen's minion trapped in a mirror parallels a genie trapped in a bottle/lamp as a master's servant. The name Sidney refers to Sidney Sheldon, the creator of I Dream of Jeannie (1965).
Archie Hopper (Jiminy Cricket): Crickets often hop to get around. Also, crickets are sometimes called hoppers.
Jefferson (The Mad Hatter): The group Jefferson Airplane has a song called "White Rabbit" which uses lyrics derived from the "Alice in Wonderland" tales.
Paige (Grace): In the real world, the Hatter's daughter is named Paige but in the fairy tale land, her name is Grace. Grace Slick was a member of Jefferson Airplane and writer of their song "White Rabbit."
Dr. Whale (Dr. Frankenstein): In his black and white fairy tale world, he is Dr. Victor Frankenstein. James Whale was the director of the original Universal Frankenstein(1931) and its sequel Bride of Frankenstein (1935).
Cora (The Queen of Hearts): Derived from the Latin word "cor" meaning heart.
Zelena (The Wicked Witch): Zelena means "green" in various Slavic languages.
August W. Booth (Pinnochio): W. Booth references to Wayne C. Booth, who coined the term the "unreliable narrator" i.e. a blatant liar who misleads the audience. August's fairy tale counterpart is known for lying.

Mid-Century Modern Lovers Will Geek Out Over This Gem – House of the Week
Pour yourself a Manhattan and turn up the Sam Cooke: this mid-century modern manse is on the market for the first time in decades.
The Los Angeles-area house hasn’t been open to the public since it was built in 1957 (during the Dwight D. Eisenhower administration, in case you’re keeping track).
The so-called “Research House 1957” was part of a series in the Los Angeles area to showcase new ideas in modern home design, according to listing agent Sam Buchanan. This home, designed by architect John C. Lindsay, was reportedly so radical that a quarter million people flocked to Flintridge Hills, CA, to see it once it was complete.
“Research House 1957… has been planned and executed specifically to illustrate what the new products in the building industry can do, especially when they are put in the hands of rating experts,” wrote House & Patio magazine in its winter 1957 issue.
“[The house] is not, perhaps, properly termed avant-garde, though its system of laminated beam construction literally fastens it to a hillside - something of a revolution in the trade,” the magazine continues.

Perched on a hillside, the 2,935-square-foot house looks like something straight out of “I Dream of Jeannie.” The entryway carpet is a groovy olive green and is anchored by a drop-down fireplace.
Bathrooms are decorated with original ornate wallpaper, including one with flamingo pink polka dots. One even includes a pop-out clothes hamper and drop-down scale, thought to be innovations at the time, Buchanan said.

Multiple living areas are wood-paneled, while the living room boasts floor-to-ceiling windows.

The kitchen features a built-in can opener and pop-out toaster oven, while the original soda fountains still work.
The backyard is a “Mad Men” dream, with a mod-shaped geometric pool, hot tub and views of the surrounding mountains.
An outdoor kitchen has bright yellow, orange, green and blue cabinets - a place where the Brady Bunch would’ve felt right at home.
A number of original furnishings remain at the house, Buchanan said. A few spots were given modern upgrades about 10 years ago.
But perhaps the most unique feature, Buchanan said, is an underground tunnel built to service the elevator (yes, the elevator still works). The tunnel is 10 feet wide and more than 8 feet high - perfect for a modern wine cellar.

The current owners had lived in the home since 1959, but the husband recently passed away at the age of 93, leading his wife to put the property up for sale. The first open house, last week, drew 500 visitors.
“It’s been hidden away for 60 years,” Buchanan said. “I know a lot of these people can’t afford a $3 million dollar house, but I wanted them to see it.”
The house is listed at $2.99 million - or, roughly, 245 times what the average house cost the year this place was built.
Sam Buchanan of B&B Properties holds the listing.
