BEETLEJUICE GRAVEYARD REVUE AU!!!!! (With art)

Im not very active on here anymore but to those that follow me on Twitter uh you know im #normal about the beetlejuice graveyard revue and I’ve been working on an au for this niche universal show for the past month.

Before we start idk if you all know what this show is so in simplest terms the Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue is a theme park show that ran in the Universal parks from 1991-2016 (in the US). In the show, Beetlejuice puts on a rock and roll show featuring the Universal Monsters HOWEVER, given that they are monsters and not hip cool rock and rollers, BJ transfunkafies the monsters into rockstars for the show (with the audiences help)

The monsters included in the show originally are:

• Dracula

• Frankenstein’s monster

• The Bride of Frankenstein

• The Wolfman

• The Phantom of the Opera

Further down the line Erik was removed and replaced with Hip and Hop, and later, Cleopatra and Phantasia. However, in this AU it’s just gonna be this set of monsters (with some appearances by Hip and Hop)

ANYWAY. THE AU. what if beetlejuice turns the universal monsters into rockstars, as per usual, but he can’t turn them back to normal afterwards. So BJ being BJ is like KACHING so he becomes their manager/ring leader and they become like an official touring band.

All the monsters retain their memories and characteristics in this change, but they get new skills and slight changes in personality in order to fit this star power vibe. They’re like chemically engineered rockstars.

Drac is like the gay emo cousin and that’s the best way I can describe it he’s always hungry always trying to bite someone you tell him to stop and he’s like “oooHHHH MY gOoOOdAAH”. Hip and Hop are like their groupies!

One time they forgot Dracula at like a pitstop and he did hard drugs, got 7 tattoos he couldn’t pay for, killed 4 people and injured 12, he also fucked some bitches and sucked a ton of blood. they picked him up later that day

Frankie is very nice and not very bright and Drac and BJ especially like messing with him. The bride is the defacto leader if Beetlejuice isn’t there. Bride is the most levelheaded one that’s why she’s the leader and they all listen to her cause a. She’s hot b. Yeah she seems to know what she’s talking about c. Feminism!

Bride and Frank are both not very bright but Bride is really confident and logical so she can figure things out quicker but she and Frankie still do little homeschool lessons sometimes. I think it’d be lessons from BJ but they’re all horribly distorted so Erik has to come and be like no no stop omfg. BEETLEJUICE. YOURE GONNA GIVE THEM STDS… LOWER YOUR HAND FRANKIE. They’re also few and far between cahse BJ doesn’t care and forgets also. If they’re bickering (Phantom and BJ) Bride and Frankie read up on their own (if they care) and help each other.

Wolfie is not allowed alone because if you leave him alone for too long he will destroy the furniture. He’s usually with Beetlejuice, if not he’s with the #gang if not he’s with hip and hop but he’s not allowed alone

Beetlejuice and the phantom are basically the ones in control most of the time (they are married) (they aren’t) (they might as well be) this is where the feminism comes in although phantom would be second in command if beetlejuice wasn’t there. hes a sort of a cryptic fellow (he’s also very dramatic) anyway he’ll just do his own thing UNLESS someone touches him the wrong way then he’s like the dramatic ass we know and love and he’ll be just immature as the rest of them. My boys also been trying to not be as much of a dick to women and he also likes bride cause who doesn’t. so he likes that she’s the one taking the lead if not him.

Also on phantom being the only one with a license it’s really funny cause his song has that car thing going on. frank shouldn’t be anywhere near a wheel, bride does not know or care to drive she’s literally one week old, drac would purposely throw them off a cliff, Wolfie would drive like he’s playing gta and BJ is a lazy fuck. At one point Erik quits and begins working at Kmart and then right after Kmart goes bankrupt.

First and foremost none of these characters are bothered by the fact that you're trans. It’s a neutral stance for them. Hell, two out of three of these have a deep respect and emotional connection to canonically trans characters.

Ace is one of those guys who has himself dolled up in pan pride. He’s got the silly t-shirts, the bracelets, the flag, etc etc. So when he finds out your trans/enby you get a solid high five and a “hell yea”. Ace is also the type of person that fist fights bigots. (Zoro and Law would too but I think Ace would actually seek out confrontation.) Anyway, Ace will do damn near anything to make you smile. He’ll tell silly jokes, tickle you, kiss you, try to feed you, and insist you have a yummy drink. If none of that works, Ace will just hang out around you. He might be scrolling on tiktok or twitter but getting to be around you makes him feel better.

Law probably won’t out right discuss the fact that you're trans/enby unless you bring it up. Generally it’s not his business, why would he care what you do with your body? The only thing that matters is that you’re safe and comfortable. Law is also not very good at comforting people, so you may unfortunately have to let him know you’re feeling down. Maybe you’re experiencing some body dysmorphia or someone made a negative comment to you or maybe you’re just feeling gloomy. Regardless of what the issue is, Law will do his best to soothe you. He’s not very touchy, so he’ll sit with you and offer to hold your hand. He’ll give you a kiss on the cheek and ask if you want to talk it out. Law is always there to listen to anything and everything you have to say. Law is going to protect you, even if it’s from yourself.

 Zoro wouldn’t figure out your trans/enby unless you tell him point blank. some atsv thoughts...

i was a year older than miles when i saw the first movie when it came out. now the second movie has come out, and im 20, but its not my fault the sequel took nearly 5 years to release. ageing up is fine and exists for situations like these where a piece of media didnt maturate properly with its initial fanbase, and thus didnt allow for them to naturally grow in tandem. that's literally part of what fandom/fanfiction is for. fandom and fanfiction are for people to expand on their favourite piece of media and remake it into how they want it to be. the same thing happened with mcu!peter parker. i was abt 1-2 years younger than peter parker when homecoming came out, and i was 2-3 years older than him when no way home released.

whatever happened to just judging silently, and moving on with ur day? why are people being so mean and exclusive now?

this movie uses typical spiderman tropes, and makes a meta analysis of miles morales as a character and whether or not he deserves to even be spiderman. the movie uses this as a narrative device. one of the core elements of spiderman is parental figure death/trauma, his/her relationship to the police/the city (often times by way of the police chief to represent all of the police, and/or by way of the media to represent public perception of spiderman, ie.: hero vs menace).

if we wanna only talk about movies, then all 3 live action series of spiderman have done the exact same thing. the comics do it even more.

but these ppl just watch movie, see ‘cop not intrinsically bad in this one’ and go ‘hey guys, this is bad right? am i right? please agree. when are we going to do something about it’. it feels like a very uninformed and performative analysis and reaction. and its always the people who aren't the ones being affected by police/police brutality that seem to put on the biggest show about supposed copaganda. how about you do something about the very real problems happening in the real world if you're worried abt copaganda? because i'll bet every dollar i have that every person that was bird calling on twitter abt atsv never set foot anywhere near any of the many protests that happened this year for the lives of those lost to the unjust american judicial system in just this year alone.

there are ways to consume media while also being smart. stop letting twitter raise u. you don't have to constantly perform for everyone to prove you're a good, socially-conscious person.

If he said it, he’s not really wrong. I mean, useless is unfair imo but I’ve said before I think Lando is one of the drivers who in the right car in the year can win a championship but the stars have to align. He’s not going to pull performance out of thin air like some others could do.

But again, Imma need someone to confirm Prost really said this.

As for the McLaren stuff…they’re just hot air and lando probably knows that. They just say stuff to distract from the reality that they walked Lando into a penalty and that they were caught lying about their rear wings.

The fact is, Lando has received preferential strategy this year on a few occasions, and has received upgrades first. Yes they gave Oscar Hungary but they gave Lando the better strategy (the whole handling of Hungary was diabolical honestly). So it’s like…is this issue even real, or does McLaren like to throw it around as if it’s their biggest problem when it really isn’t. I do think they are trying to not burn the bridge with oscar but I also think all this “there’s no first driver” talk is to make it sound like this dynamic has played the single biggest role in deciding the championship when it absolutely hasn’t. Besides Hungary and the Austria sprint, where has Oscar taken points from Lando that were in his pocket? Nowhere. They don’t trip over each other as often as McLaren fuck up a strategy or Lando just doesn’t execute. But they don’t want to talk about that so they talk about something else.

I do hope Lando has had support this year though. Poor guy has been going through it with the internet hate mob. And he was starting to look really high strung for a while there. But the autumn break seems to have done him good

I'm interested in seeing your corn yaoi rant since I can't find it on you blog but I fully agree that this fanbase is a bit too focused on shipping since a lot of it just feels like they just want any wlw or mlm ship regardless of how much sense it would make for the characters? another big example of this is Ceroba x Martlet like I don't get how people do not realise pairing a woman with the widow of her father figure is a bit creepy? and very out of character for both of them? at least I've seen corn yaoi fans write them in a way that explores their character and helps them cope with their insecurities. yuri ship so bad even a lesbian hates it. on twitter a lot of the shipping also lowkey feels like a "who has the most cursed ship name" contest with some of those pairings.

I don’t consider ceroba/martlet anywhere near as annoying as crn yaoi tbh, because at least they actually have like, a canon dynamic to go off of. That being the fact they don’t see eye to eye on a lot of things, and have very contrasting worldviews in general that I think would be fun to explore. My only complaint is that the minimal stuff I do see w/ them doesn’t really play into the fact that their dynamic would probably be unhealthy lmao

Meanwhile crn yaoi is literally just smashing the two “shippable” guys in the main cast together bc it’s mlm. Bts hyyh merch guide (pt 1)

I'm going to make a merch guide to each of the eras to help people collect but I figured i'd start with hyyh since it was one of my favorites ₊✩‧₊˚౨ৎ˚₊✩‧₊

The obvious (albums):

There's a light blue and light pink for pt 1 and dark blue with dark pink for pt2 which im sure we all know by now but there was also a limited Taiwan edition!

As of right now these are kind of hard to find; but without pc only cost ~$30. Outside of the photocard/postcard the only real difference of these is the inclusion of the lyrics in chinese plus more cds. These were released only for pt 1 in both the white/pink versions!

The photocards are going to COST YOU though, with a general range of $150-200

There also was 2 Japan kayo nekka versions that had a inclusion of a dvd too. On the dvd was just the run mv plus a photo gallery. PLEASE do not buy the listings of people selling the cd alone with no photocard for around 100, if you look harder on ebay theres many for closer to 40 or 50!!

these photocard prices are even worse than the last, normally being 200 to 400 from what ive seen. at least youll have a easier time finding listings for these (┬┬﹏┬┬)

DVDS:

The first dvd for hyyh was in 2015 and was released on 160223, this one only covers the Seoul concerts (which were the first 3). The first 2 dvds show the last day of the in Seoul concert, and the last one has 5 performances in Japan, VCR making film, prologue, rehearsals, practice making films and concert making films. The 2nd dvd also includes a VCR interview and talk about hyyh. All in all this is 346 minutes long :) If your lucky you can get this for $100 no pc but I would count on it being 200-370. The pc normally is around 100 too 😭

2016 live on stage epilogue dvd - This included of course film of the concert but also the poster and bridge shoot, md shooting film, concert practice and concert making film. you can find links to watch it for free with english subs here!

This dvd will cost around 170-200 and most (thankfully) have pc included. The pc alone will probablyyyy cost you around 60 even though ive seen ones way lower (you have to just look hard).

Theres also a blue ray version for around 95-160 (originally sold for $53.78) This one I THINK has the same stuff on it but its only in 2 dvds. I really cant tell if the postcards were a pre order benefit or not plus if it came as a set or random. Theres barely any listings for these but they only go for like $30 each (its like a breath of fresh air typing a price that low)

2016 BTS LIVE Kayo Nenka on stage epilogue Japan Edition Deluxe Edition DVD - this was released on January 18, 2017 so you should notttt be spending anywhere near as much (id guess 60-90?) This comes with 2 discs,the limited edition has a 132 page photobook and has bluray plus dvd but the regular just has the bluray no photobook. There is also a regular version with just dvd. These ones are the regular:

The regular is really hard to find nowadays but I think the general price range is 50-80??

Concert merch:

This hoodie only came in one size, Im not too sure the price of the zip up but the normal hoodie for the epilogue was $30.42 so we can assume it was about the same. nowadays expect to pay 200-600 for it LMAO

The shirt came in medium and large, i cant find any pricing info or current listings for this but i would assume it would be in the hundreds. The problem is theres so many unofficial shirts with this pattern being sold so it drowns out all the official listings. you MIGHT have luck getting this on some old instagram or tumblr account though!

one size beanie- current cost is around $200 but older accounts on twitter or tumblr sell for $45. yall im gonna be honest I cant find the post for the 2015 tour merch for the LIFE of me so im not going to know any original prices

bandana 600x600- GOOD LUCK BUYING THIS THING only place i can find listings is carousell which were all really cheap (~$15) but then again they are old listings.

I cannot find these damn socks ANYYYYWHERE on the face of the internet. your guess is as good as mine chat

pickets- very few listings of these out here but they are only like $70! (crazy if you remember people sell love yourself ones for 50 and 60) BUT you can 100% find listings for way lower (around 20 or 30) they are just rare

program book- these are only 40-60

this is going to be more like $200 for a set of just one members, its way easier to find the 2016 ones

photo set- there was multiple sets of these (not sure how many IM SORRY) ; one goes for about 100

I have tentatively made an art blog (@deathofsurrexis), which is probably going to house my more nsfw and lewd projects, partially so I have somewhere to be kinda unapologetically horny and to put my lewd thoughts into medium (I'm polyamorous and hypersexual - sue me :P)

I, technically, also have an nsfw reblog, but yall don't get access to that one unless we're dating lol, and even then it has a password. Might remove that though it feels like a hassle...

All this being said, this is kinda my main/only social media. I do have a Twitter/X account and an Instagram account, but I will not be posting any of my projects there because Twitter is just AI food now and Instagram is owned by Meta, both of which I hate.

not going to name names, not going to mention (tumblr function) anyone, but i want to nip this notion in the bud.

prefacing this with the disclaimer that this is strongly worded, that this is going to sound mean and harsh, but i'm fine with coming off that way, if i get to assert my boundaries.

i'm incredibly averse to "fandom". i want nothing to do with fandom involvement. i am not here to make friends. all i need to enjoy media is to talk about it with the handful of friends i've shared it to, and i either already have that, or i make it happen. when it comes to needing to use art to appreciate a given work, i express this creative energy in many different ways. visual art is one outlet for that self-expression. all i'm doing on cohost/tumblr/twitter/etc. is using relevant tags for art i make, deciding what i can/want to share to the public. tumblr's archiving and tagging system, while still lacking in features over the past decade, is notorious for how useful it is to visual artists.

do not put me on a pedestal, and do not treat my work like its public domain use. you'd be wrong to do either. i'm not superior or inferior to you; don't act like it. there is a reason my art accounts all use a selfie of me as my avatar. we do not know each other and i'm perfectly fine with that. stay on your side of the screen.

given 8/9 posts i've made on this account so far are katana zero posts, and that i was mentioned as one of a few artists "carrying the fandom" on here by a fandom member, i also want to speak my mind about how i perceive this specific fandom. it's weird. a lot frustrates me about it. i've seen a lot of things that make my stomach turn. some heavy issues are treated in flippant manner, despite the source game portraying them with appropriate gravity. for whatever reason, it's typical for the fandom to lighten fifteen's skin, despite it being exactly the same as zero's skintone. there is a bizarrely prevalent attitude that the incoming DLC is an owed debt to the fandom, enough for people to make accounts like one dedicated to a daily count of how long it's been since full release without the DLC. come on, people. it's as if the DLC exists in some strange intangible vacuum where the budget, size, and humanity of the dev team are somehow not a factor. as though the DLC exists separate from the ongoing pandemic, and a literal real war affecting the team.

to see so many "fans" act incredibly entitled, so loudly and constantly, and doing this everywhere and anywhere it's fucking possible to leave a comment or post, even on unrelated work, well…

yeah, hopefully by now it's clear why i would want to distance myself from any fandom involvement. i hate fandom. it's never a healthy culture; katana zero's fandom is no special outlier to that. i'm not a superhero savior to this fandom that is supposedly "dying", "near-dead", etc. im not "carrying" shit, i'm just using your tags. "this fandom is nearly dead" then die! i'm not a part of this! go read interviews from the dev team and learn about game development—hell, go and try to draw or animate or compose or code something for a game, and then just try to get back to me about how "unreasonable" the wait is for the DLC. pretending this exists in a vacuum: if the "first act" of the story took 6 years of development, and the DLC is currently taking 3 years so far, and the DLC's size is of half the main game... is the rate of game development truly anything close to unreasonable?

...i'll say that, to me, there's a difference between fans of a work of media and the "fandom" for it, even if the former group is not entirely separate from the latter. from half a month of being on tumblr i've grown over 50 followers, which is incredible, especially for a single-digit amount of art shared so far. i read tags. i check my mentions. there's been some lovely compliments through tags on reblogs, which i appreciate, and i further appreciate that my work is being enjoyed and shared through reblogs and likes. thank you.

p much the bulk of you treat me kindly; honestly, i'm still trying to wrap my head around all the positive attention and encouragement. thank you for taking care and effort to tell me what you have. energy and time have finite limits; i'm happy when people decide to spend that on making me feel appreciated.

but i'm also a rather direct person, and don't like being wishy-washy about my limits and boundaries.

so, to conclude: i get uncomfortable when people try to nominate me as notable for any involvement in "fandom", and further, when strangers talk as though i'm trying to breathe life into any fandom perceived as "dead" or "dying". that's not my problem. i'm not trying to solve it, either. i'm not looking for recognition as a popular figure in a fandom. what i create and why i create it is independent of any fandom existing. i don't want anything to do with fandom involvement. leave me out of it.

maybe ill use tumblr to vent on since i kinda turned my twitter into a free for all thing lol.... plus i can talk on here without the millions of "are you ok" questions from my wife bc some of this stuff he genuinely hasnt ever been able to help me with since we experience gender and brain things differently.

i usually just like to blame feeling shitty on "oh its just around the time im supposed to do my shot" and just forget about it but im just having so so so so so many stupid complicated feelings. i go thru cycles of not really caring about whatever my gender is and then i get really upset over it later on bc ive just never found anything i can feel comfortable with. i still dont feel like im existing correctly. i dont have a super cute aesthetically squishy body like a lot of people do. ill never be able to get top surgery. do i even actually want it? it would be nice but i feel like part of me only wants it so i can feel more accepted by other trans people...

im also really frustrated with how my brain works in the sense of being able to easily switch between talking about things im into. ive had problems all my life where as soon as im into a new thing, thats all i can ever think and talk about for anywhere from months to years on end. i completely forget EVERYTHING about whatever i liked previously. i struggle to remember basic stuff even, its like my brain gets wiped clean. its really frustrating because i want to be a well rounded person but i just cant. ive always had a one track mind. maybe its a dissociative thing but it just feels like every time i get into something new i feel like a completely different person and i dont know who i was previously. i section the periods of my life based on what i was into at the time. is it an escapism thing too? i have no idea.

also just. still throwing myself against a wall for the weird ways i feel about people. "dodged a bullet" honey there was neved a bullet. i never got over it. shit even if it was a bullet id let it hit me. but i have no idea what im doing when it comes to this stuff anymore and its a bad idea to keep feeling things like this anywaayyy... i feel like how i did when someone who was very, very dear to me would do things for me because i think she did genuinely care about me and want to see me happy, but obviously she did this in a friendly way.... i feel like that even though thinking about it its nowhere near the same. idk. im a mess and never got over my *****. if thats what i think it is. i think it is. maybe. idk. i shouldnt though. i need to forget about it and just be a normal grown ass person instead of feeling like a giddy 18 year old......
