"You Belong With Me"
Tumblr media
Gojo x Fem!reader: Based on the song "You Belong with me by Taylor Swift. Got this idea when I read an oneshot based on Taylor Swift songs.
Idea credit: @seeingivy
Warnings: None ig but some cuss words.
Tumblr media
"Atleast try to hear me out", you hear a frustrated voice coming from Gojo's dorm room.
You didn't mean to eavesdrop but your curiosity got the better out of you when you saw his door slightly open and you could see Gojo sitting on his bed and talking to someone on call.
" I didn't mean it like that-", you see Gojo running his hand through his hair in frustation.
He sighs as the person on the other end abruptly cut his call.
Trying not to be suspicious you knock on his door "Gojo..?", he looks up at you through his black sunglasses.
" Y/n", he answers clearly tired due to his previous conversation.
"Yaga sensei is going to take extra class today us he told me to inform you", he just hums in response.
" Be ready in 5 minutes" , you state before leaving.
Judging by his expression you already knew who was on the other side of the call and you didn't wanted to think about it.
"Y/n!", Shoko exclaimed as she hugged you.
" Where's that stupid blue-eyed bastard?" , you laughed at her remark.
Shoko knew about your crush on Gojo and since he started dating someone from Kyoto School, Shoko has been giving him cold treatment.
"He said he was coming, well he was too busy to-", you paused , saying it aloud hurts more than you thought.
Shoko raised an eyebrow indicating you to go on. You sighed and continued "-to fight with his new girlfriend"
Shoko gave you a sympathetic look, everyone knew that you had a crush on that boy, everyone but him. How could someone be the strongest and yet so dumb?
Few minutes later Geto and Gojo came into the class. Geto sat beside Shoko while Gojo took the seat beside you.
"Y/n can I ask you something?", he whispered and you just nodded while paying attention to the lecture.
" What kind of music do girls like?", Gojo should just kill you right now, it would hurt less.
"People have different taste in music, Gojo. But I like to think that everyone loves Taylor Swift", You answered still not looking at him.
" No but my girlfriend doesn't like Taylor Swift, do you have any other recomm-", a chalk was thrown by Yaga sensei towards Gojo's head.
"Pay attention Satoru!"
After the class you and Shoko decided to hang out without the boys. You were walking down the street when you spot Gojo's favorite bakery.
"Wait Shoko. I want to buy something from there", you went there and bought Gojo's favorite cake and other cakes for everyone.
" Y/n, you should really stop that", Shoko sounded worried which was unusual for her.
"Stop what?", Shoko sighed at your response.
She pointed at the bag of cakes " You bought Gojo's favorite cake didn't you? That idiot doesn't even know you like him since our first year. Even Nanami could see it- heck even Suguru lost a bet to Yaga sensei because he said it would take Gojo six months to notice-"
"They did what?!"
"Oh never mind the last part", Shoko giggled "But Y/n, I mean it . You deserve someone who will care for you"
"I'm trying Shoko. I really am", you gave her a half hearted smile.
After reaching campus you both go to Suguru's dorm and eat the desert together.
" Satoru, what happened today with your girlfriend?", Suguru asked while taking a bite of his cake.
"I made a joke and she got angry", the white-haired boy sighed.
"Only Y/n likes your stupid jokes", you hit Shoko on her knee.
For the first time today Gojo's face lit up with a smile which you light up this whole town.
" You really do don't you? You even brought my favorite cake.", You playfully hit Gojo on his arm.
"Oh don't falter yourself, I only like some of your jokes", everyone broke into a laugh.
"But seriously Satoru don't you get tired of fighting all the time? Isn't this the 5th time you guys are fighting and it's only been a month", Suguru stated and the room grew silent.
Gojo didn't know how to respond to that, he didn't know what to respond ?That he's just dating her because he can't get over his feelings for his classmate.
"Oh I'm sure they can handle their own relationship Suguru", You said as you tried to break the tension. Gojo gave you a smile and you returned it.
" Okkkkkkk as this has got awkward so me and Y/n will be going ", Shoko hooked her arm around yours and got out of the room.
"Whatever you are doing is not right Satoru", Suguru also left the room and his friend sat their not knowing what to do.
At night you couldn't sleep and went outside to take a walk when you saw Gojo sitting on a bench. You were just trying to walk off in other direction ,trying to avoid him when he called you out.
Guess you couldn't escape his his six-eyes after all.
"What are you doing here this late?", Gojo asked , his voiced showed concern.
" You shouldn't be the one talking.", you rolled your eyes at him.
He laughed at your response. This side of you always attracted him.
He made place for you to sit on the bench and you obeyed his command like he had you under some kind of spell.
"You remember how you came to my dorm at a night like this because I watched 'The Notebook' and couldn't stop crying?", Satoru asked looking at the stars.
" Yes yes and how I googled up cheesy jokes to make you laugh ", you both giggle at the fond memory.
" You always have a way to make me laugh ", he said looking at you.
" And you still didn't choose me", you thought sadly.
"Want to listen to some music?", you asked and he nodded so you took out your phone and your earphones.
You played " The 1" by Taylor Swift.
"Hey that's my favorite song of her", Gojo stated like a excited puppy.
" I thought you didn't listen to her?", you were surprised that he even knew this song.
"Well you always play her songs in your dorm and I love this one and the other one 'You Belong With Me'"
"Oh the Irony!", you thought. He didn't know that you played those songs with him in mind.
" You know Y/n, If I hadn't been a sorcerer I would have opened a bakery. I actually want to try it sometime", He stated out of nowhere.
"You're so random."
"Oh I don't know whenever I'm with you it feels like I can talk about anything. You are my safe place Y/n.", and that was your last straw.
He says all these things , seeks comfort in you, laughs with you, cry on your shoulder but can't he see that you're the one who understands him? That you're the one who has been here all along with him?
" You belong with me", the words in your mind didn't match the words on your lips.
You stood up quickly, "I'm feeling sleepy. I think I'm gonna go", you didn't want to stay there one more minute , everything hurts even the cold air hitting your face feels like knifes stabbing.
Gojo sat there dumbfounded , you rushed out from the scene so quickly that he didn't even get to bid you good night.
The next morning you avoided Gojo like a plague. You paired up with Suguru instead of Gojo today and he seemed to notice this change in your behaviour.
Later Gojo went on to seek advice from his best friend. " Do you think Y/n is angry with me?"
"Did you do something?", Suguru yawned not interested in his friends question because he knows Gojo is really dense.
" No we were sitting on the bench last night and then she hurried to her room and this morning she has been avoiding me"
"You definitely did something", Suguru nodded philosophically at his own response.
" You're not being much of a help Suguru ",
" Alright Alright, tell me everything what happened last night "
"YOU FUCKING DUMBASS", the raven haired shouted at his friend.
" WHY DO YOU DO THAT?"
"DO WHAT?", Gojo matched his friend's energy.
Suguru rubbed his temple, annoyed at Gojo's behaviour.
" You give Y/n mixed signals and you get yourself a girlfriend when you clearly like Y/n!"
"But she doesn't like me back", Suguru looked like he could kill his best friend any moment now.
" I was not going to say it because it wasn't my place to do so but since you are so dense I'm gonna break it to you", Suguru spoke with frustration
"Y/n. Likes. You."
"HUH?", the strongest sorcerer was left speechless.
" There you go. Even Yaga sensei knew it! I lost a bet to him that you would notice it in six months but it's been a year now.
"You did what?!"
"Just make sure to give me the money I lost because of you being an Idiot", Suguru patted his friend's back.
" But Suguru... What will I do now?", Gojo trailed off thinking about ways to make it up to you.

Note
can you do poly OT8 skz reacting to you getting pregnant please🥺😭
I hope you enjoy this. I got really carried away writing this. I kinda connected this to my Yours Truly series so I hope you don't mind. This has been sitting in my drafts for way too long though. I've just decided to post it after finishing it. There might be a few mistakes so sorry about that.
You had waken up this morning on your huge shared bed completely overwhelmed with nausea and quickly crawled over your boyfriends practically running to the bathroom. You quickly dropped to your knees and threw up into the toilet. You were currently cursing Hyunjin mentally for asking you to get takeout from that restaurant. You probably had food poisoning now.
You feel a hand go to your hair holding it and another hand going to your back. Clearly from 2 different people.
"Damn it. I told Hyunjin we shouldn't have gotten takeout from there." You hear Changbin say.
You once again leaned over the toilet throwing up with your eyes closed. "I'm going to kill him when he gets up." Seungmin says threatening his boyfriend.
After a couple minutes at this point you're not throwing up anything else. Instead dry heaving into the toilet. "Is she okay?" You hear Hyunjin say worried.
"She probably has food poisoning because of the takeout from last night." Changbin says as you start finally feeling like you weren't going to throw up your guts.
You sit back on your legs and sigh wiping your face. "I should kill you." Seungmin says to his boyfriend who looks on worried.
"Lets get you laying back down okay?" Changbin says and you nod tired now that you had thrown up what felt like your entire guts.
Seungmin and Changbin help you back into the bed where the rest of your concerned boyfriends wait. "You okay love?" Jisung asks you.
"Just a little nauseous. Probably from dinner." You tell him and he nods yet he's still worried. Felix comes in with a water bottle.
"You need liquids. From what I know you've thrown up everything you ate last night and you need fluids." Felix says handing you the bottle and you take it drinking at least half before the boys let you put it down.
"You're going to be alright." I.N. says rubbing your back.
"I feel bad that we can't stay." Chan says sighing. Yet you just shrug.
"Don't. You guys have work." You tell him and he sighs again.
"That doesn't make me feel any better." Chan says and you sigh. "I promise it's okay love." You say and he gives you a sympathetic look.
You grab his hand intertwining it. "Is Maria off work today?" Minho asks you and you nod.
"She should be." You tell him and he nods.
"Since we can't take care of you today we'll call your friend Maria and ask if she will. Okay?" Minho tells you.
"Okay." You say giving him a weak nod. He grabs your phone calling Maria. He leaves the room as the boys tuck you under the blanket.
"Hello?" Answers a male voice instead of Maria. "Hey. Can I speak to Maria?" Minho asks.
"Sure. Who is this though?" The voice asks.
"Minho." He says simply.
"MARIA!" The voice yells out though it sounds muffled.
"Which of the 8 are you?" Minho asks him back.
"Seonghwa. Is there a special reason why you're calling from Y/Ns phone?" He asks him which sounds like a genuine question with no ill intent.
Minho sighs. "Is Maria off work today? Its kind of urgent. I need a favor that deals with Y/N." He asks him.
"Yeah she is." He says and another yell of Maria comes out.
Minho hears voices in the background. "Get off me!" Minho hears Maria say while laughing.
"No!" The voice says back.
"I need to get to Seonghwa Woo!" She says as it sounds like a struggle is happening.
"Help me Yunho!" She yells. He hears laughter in the background.
"Minhos calling from Y/Ns number." Seonghwa says to Maria.
Minho hears more struggling. The phone is handed off. "Hello?" Maria says. He hears muffled laughter. "Get off me Wooyoung! San you too!" He hears her say and a reply of no comes.
"Hey we got takeout from this restaurant Hyunjin wanted to try and Y/N woke up throwing up and she's nauseous." Minho says sighing.
"Is she okay?" Maria says concerned.
"Yeah but we have to work and its really important or we'd stay here with her. We don't want to leave her alone and I feel bad for asking because it's your day off but could you come over and watch her just until we get home. We're going to try and get them to send us home around noon." Minho says.
"Don't feel bad about it. I don't mind at all, she's my friend." Maria says concern still in her voice.
"Thank you. If there's anyway we can pay you back let us know." Minho says sighing out relieved.
"Give me 30 minutes to get changed and get there. I don't need you to pay me back, that's my friend." Maria says sighing.
"Thank you." Minho says. Suddenly there's a scream from Maria followed by laughter.
"Stop San and Woo! I have to go see Y/N she's sick" Maria says scolding her boyfriends.
"Is she okay?" Wooyoung says to Maria.
"She's okay but the boys have important work today so they can't take of her until later so I'm going over there." She tells him.
"Fine but you owe us later!" Minho hears what sounds like San say.
"Yeah. Okay." She says.
"I'll be there. Bye." She says and the phone hangs up.
Minho makes his way back to the room. "She's coming over." Minho says to his boyfriends.
"Good. I didn't want to leave her alone." Chan says sighing looking at you as you had fallen back to sleep.
"Lets get ready. She'll be here about the time we need to leave." Minho says and the boys nod getting up from surrounding you even though they don't want to leave your side.
They all get to doing what they need but check on you. Though after changing I.N. and Jisung come up to you and climb into bed with you.
They lay there watching your breathing and to see if you'd need help getting back to the bathroom in case another wave of nausea wakes you up. They hear the faint knock of a door but don't move knowing that one of their boyfriends would open the door.
Hyunjin is the one who opens the door. "Call us when you get done." Hongjoong yells to Maria.
"I will." Maria yells back to him as he backs out of the driveway.
The back windows roll down. "I LOVE YOU!" Shouts Wooyoung sticking his head out the car.
"Get back in the car now!" Jongho says pulling his boyfriend back into the car as the window rolls up.
Maria laughs and turns realizing the door is open now.
"Oh sorry about that." But then she realizes it's Hyunjin.
"Nevermind I take it back. You were the one who has my friend throwing up because she has food poisoning." Maria says and Hyunjin sighs and knows that was deserved. He steps out of the way so Maria can come inside.
"Thank you for coming Maria. Y/Ns currently laying down in the room." Chan says taking her to the boys and your room.
He opens the door revealing you squished in-between 2 of your boyfriends. They look at Maria and sit up.
Chan goes up to you gently shaking you awake. "Baby?" Chan says and you hum.
"Hey love we got to leave. Maria's here. We're going to try our best to be back around noon." Chan says and you open your eyes. You nod to him.
"I love you." Chan says kissing your head. "Love you too Channie." You say back to him and he smiles.
The rest of the boys go to you kissing your head and let out I love yous.
"We're leaving now baby. We'll be back soon. Maria's going to take good care of you. It's my fault you have food poisoning and I'm really sorry." Hyunjin says kissing your hand.
"It's okay Jinnie I'll be fine." You tell him as he nods and kisses your head once more. He gets up walking with the rest of the boys out of the house. You hear the door shut signalling your boyfriends left already.
"How are you feeling?" Maria asks as you sit up.
"Still feel nauseous but not like I'm going to puke my guts up anymore." You say and she comes to the edge of the bed and sits.
"Good. Do you have a fever or anything?" She asks you and shake your head.
"Are you hungry?" She asks feeling your head. You nod.
"Anything in particular?" Maria asks you as she moves her hand away.
"No you can pick." You tell her and she nods. "Is it okay if we make something light so you can keep it down?" You nod at her question.
"How about chicken noodle soup? I'm sure your chef boyfriend has the things for it." She says teasing you about Minho and you nod.
"Minho almost has nothing in the freezer that's quick to eat and he currently put a ban on me cooking." You tell her while pouting remembering your boyfriends words.
"What did you do?" She asks laughing. "I tried making dinner and burned it. He banned me for life." You say sighing.
"Well I won't burn the food I promise and he didn't ban me." Maria says and you smile.
"You want to come watch me or would you rather stay in here and get more sleep?" She asks you.
"Is it okay if I stay in here and get some more sleep?" You ask her and she smiles nodding.
She helps you lay back down. Before you know it you fall back to sleep.
You're awoken by Maria lightly shaking you. "Hey I'm done with the food." She says and you sleepily sit up.
She places it in your lap. "Here." She says and you start eating the soup. Yet another wave of nausea rolls over you. Maria sees you move the bowl to the nightstand and rush to the bathroom.
She goes in there after you lifting your hair. "Are you okay?" She asks you and you nod giving a thumbs up.
It soon goes away faster than it did earlier. There's an open cabinet as she helps you back up and flushes the toilet. She looks at the the open cabinet and inside are a box of tampons and there's pads beside it.
"Hey Y/N?" Maria asks you and you look at her but her eyes are on the tampons and pads. You hum.
"When did you last have your period?" She asks you now looking back at you.
Your eyes go wide looking back at her. "You don't think I'm pregnant do you?" You ask her and she nods. You look at her wide eyed and she quickly helps you back to the bed.
"Do you want me to call one of the boys and see if they can pick up a few pregnancy tests?" She asks you but you shake your head.
"I don't want the boys knowing. Not until I know for sure." You tell her and she nods understanding.
"Can I call one of my boys to bring some?" She says grabbing her phone and you nod. She quickly goes through her contact list.
She pulls up one and puts it on speaker and the phone rings but is picked up by the first ring. "Hey love." You hear a voice says. "Hi yeo. I have a question do you think you can go to a store with Hwa and pick up something for me?" Maria asks him.
"Uh sure. What do you need?" He asks her and she lets out a sigh looking at you.
"I need some pregnancy tests." She tells him and the line goes quiet.
"Why do you need pregnancy tests?" He asks her. She looks at you seeing if you'd let her tell him.
"Oh God. Are you pregnant? Hongjoong is going to kill all of us." He says over the phone slightly panicking. You let out a little laugh and so does she.
You nod letting her know she can tell him though. "No I'm not pregnant but if I was Hongjoong can't be mad because it'd be all of your faults." She says laughing and she hears Yeosang let out a sigh of relief.
"It's for Y/N. We think she might be pregnant. Can you get a few different ones for us?" She asks him.
"Yeah. Let me go get Seonghwa. We'll be over soon." Yeosang says.
"I love you." Maria says to him and he sighs again relieved.
"I love you too." He replies back and she hangs up.
You look at each other and burst out laughing. "Would Hongjoong really have killed them?" You ask her and she shrugs.
"He was part of it so I don't know." She says laughing still.
She calms down laughing. She looks at you smiling.
"What are you going to do if you are pregnant?" She asks you.
"Set up an appointment to make sure." You tell her smiling.
"Are you going to find out which ones the father?" She asks you and you shake your head.
"No. I don't think so. I don't think that'd matter to them and it doesn't matter to me anyways." You tell her and she nods.
"When are you going to tell them if you are?" She asks you and you take a deep breath.
"I'm not entirely sure." You say sighing.
"Well I think the sooner the better. The faster you do that the faster you can start planning for baby stuff." She tells you and you nod agreeing.
You guys continue talking about all the what ifs and soon there's a knock on the door. You and Maria get up going to it and Yeosang and Seonghwa are standing there.
You invite them and they go to the couch. Yeosang hands you the bag filled with tests. "We got you 3." Yeosang says looking at you and they nod.
You go to the bathroom and pull out the tests. You read the instructions the wait time on them being all the same and pee on the sticks. You set all 3 down on the counter and sigh. You wash your hands.
You walk out and Maria looks at you. You go to the couch sighing. "How long?" She asks you. You sigh "5 minutes."
"Are you ready for the results?" Seonghwa ask you. You nod and he smiles.
"What are you hoping the results are?" Yeosang asks you as he holds Seonghwas hand.
You sigh. "I hope it's Positive but I think I'll be fine even if it's Negative." You say and he nods.
"You guys have been together now for almost 4 years. So I'm glad this is something you want." Maria says and you nod.
"I hope this doesn't sound rude but do the boys want it?" Seonghwa asks and Yeosang elbows his boyfriend.
He glares at him and so does Maria. "Oh no that's fine. I mean I hope they do." You say smiling.
"Well then I'm sure it'll be positive then." Seonghwa says smiling at you.
"I think it's been almost 5 minutes. Do you want me to come with you?" Maria asks and you nod. She follows you into the bathroom and you take a deep breath.
"I don't think I can read this Maria." You say turning around and she hugs you.
"Do you want me to read them first?" She asks you and you nod. You move out the way so she can go to the counter. Her face shows no emotions not giving away what they say.
"Your turn." She says and backs up. You take steps over towards the counter.
You look down and they all read positive. You look at Maria who smiles at you. You start crying from how happy you were currently.
Maria goes up to you hugging you. "You're going to be a mom." She says and you can't believe the words that come out her mouth.
"You can come here Hwa and Yeo." She yells and she hears footsteps. Seonghwa and Yeosang look at you confused. Maria smiles and they know they all must read positive.
"I thought this was something you wanted?" Yeosang says and you nod.
"It is. I'm just so happy." You say and Yeosang and Seonghwa nod smiling at you.
You cry into Maria who just lets you cry happy tears until you calm down. "Okay maybe now I want to be pregnant." Maria says as she helps you throw away the tests and clean up.
"Go talk to Joong about that. If he agrees I think we'd all be more than willing to." Seonghwa says leaning his head on his boyfriend.
"We've been together for 5 years. A baby wouldn't hurt anything." Maria says to her boyfriends and you laugh.
"Maybe you guys should talk to Hongjoong then." You say and she looks at them pouting.
"Okay fine. We'll talk to him." Yeosang says giving in to her. "What's the worst that can happen? He says no?" Yeosang says shrugging.
"That'd be so cool. Me and you both being pregnant and our kids growing up with each other." She says smiling while looking at you and you smile at her back.
"Wait a minute. Now I have to apologize to Hyunjin because he didn't give you food poisoning." Maria says and you laugh.
You all head back to the living room and the door opens revealing all 8 of your boyfriends. Their eyes fall on you as half of them immediately come up to you.
Changbin comes to you picking you up and spinning you. He kisses you and you hear a gagging sound and look at Maria. "Don't act like they don't do that either." You tell her and she smiles.
"Oh Wooyoung does worse." Seonghwa says laughing.
"We've come home from practice and Wooyoung has jumped on her on more than one occasion causing them both to fall onto the couch." Yeosang says laughing and Maria rolls her eyes.
"What are you guys doing here?" Chan asks them with an eyebrow raised. Their eyes dart to yours and Marias.
"We got bored and Y/N and me wanted some company. That's okay right?" She asks Chan who nods even though he's slightly suspicious.
"I think it's time for us to go." Maria says and you nod waving to her as her, Seonghwa, and Yeosang leave.
"Did you miss us?"Changbin asks you and you nod as Jisung kisses all over your face.
"Did you end up eating anything?" Minho asks you.
You sigh as Changbin sits you on the couch with him. "Maria made chicken noodle soup but I ended up throwing it up." You say and Minho sits on the couch beside you.
"Do you think you could go get me some chocolate covered strawberries?" You ask Minho who raises an eyebrow.
"You want chocolate covered strawberries but can't keep down chicken noodle soup?" He asks you and you nod.
Chan comes up to you. "I don't think you need that at the moment." Chan says and you don't know why but tears come to your eyes. Before you know it you're crying on Changbins lap.
The boys look at you concerned. "I want chocolate covered strawberries." You say emotional as you sob on Changbins lap.
"Please don't cry okay? We'll get you chocolate covered strawberries." Chan says rubbing your back calming you. It doesn't take long before your sobs are now hiccups.
"Me and Minho will go get you chocolate covered strawberries right now okay? So please don't cry anymore." He tells you and you nod.
Him and Minho look at each other putting their shoes back on and Changbin holds you rubbing your back as they leave.
"You okay baby?" He asks you and you don't even know why you were crying.
"I'm okay." You say as Felix leans his head on Changbin looking at you.
"Good." He says letting out a sigh of relief. Seungmin sits on the edge of the couch watching you with a raised eyebrow. You were never this emotional, not even on your period.
Seungmin wasn't the only one who had noticed that. Hyunjin had an eyebrow raised too. What had happened in the last couple hours to make you so sensitive about chocolate covered strawberries?
You lean into Changbins chest as he wraps his arms around you holding you until your boyfriends came back. In the door walks a soaked Chan and Minho but they have exactly what you asked for.
"You're so damn lucky we love you." Minho grumbles as he shuts the door. He reminded you of a soaked cat.
"Here love." Chan says as you sit up in Changbins lap. "Again as your boyfriend I advise you not to eat them right now but you can go ahead if you want." Chan says and you feel bad but the urge to taste one overtakes it. You open it and bite into one. You finish it and you don't feel like puking your guts up.
The boys look at you in confusion considering that you had thrown up the chicken noodle soup earlier but currently were keeping down chocolate covered strawberries.
You offer them each one and they take it. Before long they're all gone. They all knew something was off at this point as Minho took the trash from you. "You feel better?" I.N. asks and you nod.
"Good." He says showing you his teeth with a smile.
Suddenly Minho comes into the living room. "Why are there tests in the trash?" Minho asks with an eyebrow raised at you.
"Tests?" Hyunjin replies back.
"What kind of tests?" Chan asks back to his younger boyfriend.
"Pregnancy tests." Minho says bluntly crossing his arms looking at you. All of the boys eyes fall on you.
You sigh as the boys wait for an answer. When you don't immediately answer Hyunjin speaks up. "Are they yours or Maria's?" Hyunjin asks you.
Your eyes meet his and you let out a breath you didn't know you were holding. "Mine." You say and the boys look at you in surprise.
"Are you messing with us right now? We're bring punked right?" Jisung asks you and gets a smack on the back of his head.
"After I had thrown up the chicken noodle soup Maria noticed that one of the cabinets was left open and noticed my stuff for my period. She asked me if I had period and I realized it's been a month. She called Yeosang and Seonghwa asked them to bring tests because I wasn't ready to tell you guys." You say looking down at the ground wanting to cry but a hand comes under your chin and makes you look up.
"It's okay love but why weren't you ready to tell us?" Changbin asks you and you shrug having no real answer.
"That's okay. What did the tests say?" Seungmin asks you and you let out another sigh.
"Positive. All 3." You say and the shocked faces return once again.
"You're pregnant?" Felix says mouth wide open in shock.
"I don't know for sure yet so we'll need to set up an appointment but yes." Suddenly you feel him picking you up and spinning you as he laughs. "You're pregnant." He shouts over and over and you can't help but laugh and feel dizzy. He puts you down and you stumble lightly.
Chan is quick to grab you and bring you into his arms. "Careful Lix. She's carrying our baby." Chan says holding you so you don't fall from the dizziness.
"Sorry. I'm just excited." Felix says smiling ear to ear.
You look over and you see Minhos hands covering his face as he sits on the couch. Chan lets go of you looking over at Minho. You make your way to him. "You okay?" You ask him and he looks up at you.
"Yeah. Just processing it." He says grabbing you and bringing you into his lap. He holds you against him and you lay your head on his chest.
"I love you so much. All of you." He says as you listen to his heartbeat.
"We love you too." You reply back. Minho sighs.
"There's no one else we'd rather have a baby with." Minho says letting you listen to his heartbeat.
"I hope not." You say laughing and Minho can't help but laugh at your joke too.
"I'm serious." He says after that. You nod against him.
You lift your head and look at the boys seeing Jisung pouting. "What's wrong with you Ji?" You ask him. You make grabby hands for him and Minho moves.
"Shouldn't it be the other way around?" Seungmin asks and you put a finger to your lips shushing him and he listens.
"Come here my baby." You tell him and he does exactly that. He goes up to you and you signal for him to sit in your lap. He whines embarrassed but does exactly that.
You wrap your hands around his waist and he rests his head in your neck clearly embarrassed. "What's wrong Ji?" You ask him and he sighs after getting over his embarrassment.
"Yeosang and Seonghwa knew before us." He says and it's muffled but you let out a slight laugh. "Don't laugh at me. I'm serious. Why did they get to know before us?" Jisung says looking at you now.
"They just happened to be here and they brought me the tests so of course I had to let them know. Plus I didn't technically tell them. Maria did." You say looking at him. He nods understanding but that doesn't make the pout leave his face. You kiss his lips and the pout leaves.
"You can get off her now. She's carrying our baby remember?" Seungmin says and Jisung gets to get off you but you keep your hands around his waist. "Stop being mean Minnie. Jisung is perfectly fine sitting on my lap it's not like he's pressing into my stomach." You tell him and he sighs.
"Not trying to. I'm just worried." He says coming up to you. You nod at his words as he kisses your forehead. "Don't be. I'm fine okay? Jisung sitting on my lap won't hurt me." You tell him intertwining your fingers together.
"Okay." He says and suddenly I.N. is on your other side.
"Who's going to the first appointment with you?" He asks and you shrug. His eyes light up. "Do you want to go with me Innie?" You ask him and he nods smiling.
You hear a whine come from Jisung. "You'll go with me to my next appointment okay?" You tell him and he nods.
"Do you want to find out which one of is the father? I mean I don't think it matters to us we're still going to love the baby and help you raise it all together." Hyunjin asks you.
"No. It doesn't matter much to me. Unless you guys would want to know?" You ask them. They all shake their heads.
"What do you hope it is?" Jisung asks to no one in particular.
"A girl. I want to dress her in the cutest little outfits. She'd look so cute." Felix says gushing over the baby.
"Well I want a boy. I also want to dress him in the cutest little outfits." Hyunjin says and you laugh.
"What about you Y/N?" Jisung asks you.
"I honestly don't care as long as they're healthy." You say and the boys nod at you smiling.
"Well whatever it is. We're happy as long as you are." Chan says kissing your lips.
"That's Chans way of saying he wants a boy." Jisung says but that earns him a pinch by Minho.
Chan rolls his eyes at his boyfriends antics. "If you're healthy and so is the baby I don't care." Minho says and you smile.
"I hope it's a boy." Jisung says excitedly and you laugh. "I can tell love." You say grabbing his hand bringing it to your lips to kiss.
Changbin leans against you. "A girl doesn't seem too bad." Changbin says happily.
"What about twins?" Seungmin says and you look at him rolling your eyes with a smile.
"You think we all can take care of 2 kids?" You tell him and he nods. "There's 9 of us. Of course we can." Seungmin says.
"I hope it's twins now." Jisung says and he brings a hand to your stomach.
"I'm not sure what you're expecting to feel because they're still growing." You tell him and he shrugs.
"Doesn't matter. You're having one or two of our babies." Jisung says happily.
I.N. grabs one of your hands. "I think a girl and a boy would be adorable." He says telling you.
"Even if it's only one we can always try again." Hyunjin says smiling mischievously and he gets hit on the back of his head.
"Do you only ever think about sex?" Minho asks him and Hyunjin pouts.
"Of course not. I was just saying." Hyunjin says and you kiss his lips.
"Maybe Jinnie." You tell him and he smiles.
"You need to get some sleep love. I'm sure you're still exhausted." Chan says and you nod.
"Yeah." You say and Jisung moves off of you.
You make your way to the room followed by the 8 boys who are watching your every step. This was going to be a difficult time but at least you had your 8 boyfriends.

I hope this isn't too much to ask, but hear me out: Nikolai, but he adopted some random traumatised teenager (the reader ofc), and he doesn't know what to do with them, nor does he want to abandon them so he just passes it around the doa like "lol help me take care of this kid idfk what I'm doing".
I'm sorry if it's too much, I just wanna see how the doa would react
It isn't too much. Thank you for your request! :)
'•.¸♡ why do you have a child? ♡¸.•'
Nikolai x gn!reader (platonic as the reader is an adolescent)
Platonic fluff
Masterlist
Enjoy!
Tumblr media
Nikolai found you while he was out on a mission, why he decided to take you in no one knows but he did and now you live with a clown who is very murderous and doesn't know how to take care of anyone let alone a teenager.
One day he took you to his 'work'. 'Goooooood morning, you're going with me to work!' He called out to you when he saw you in the kitchen preparing breakfast. 'Work? Why are you taking me to your work?' You saw him 'work' before and certainly didn't want to witness those horrors again.
'It'll be fun and you'll get to meet my dear friends!' There were more people like him? But you could refuse and just prayed no one would kill each other while you were there.
The office you were currently standing in was dim and kind of cold. Nikolai was in the room next to you and all you heard was 'quiz time!' Followed by some muffling. The door swung open and out came Nikolai 'Come, you'll meet my dear friend Dostoy!' You followed Nikolai into a dark room with a man sitting by some monitors. 'Nikolai, why on earth do you have a child?' You could see the man's expression due to the monitors behind him being so bright but you could hear his voice, it had a Russian accent and his tone was nuteral.
Nikolai explain his situation with a confession of not knowing what to do with you following. After hearing that he didn't know what he would do with you you felt shocked and only look at him with an expression on disbelief. 'Well if you don't know what to do with me then just let me go my own way.' Say hiss by Nikolai revealed that he didn't want to let you go so the two of you were essentially stuck with each other.
After talking with Dostoy for a while Nikolai proposed the idea of going to a casino, this confused you beyond anything. Nikolai wanted to take you to a fucking casino, what was he going to do with you in a casino in the middle of the day? Was he really going to gamble?
Upon arriving Nikolai took you to see the manager. 'Why are we visiting the casino's manager? Are you in debt with a casino?' Nikolai only laughed no answering your question making you grow more anxious by the second.
The two of you stood in front of a door and without knocking Nikolai opened the door to a man doing some paper work. 'Sigma!' He announced his presence with the man's name. 'What do you wa- why do you have a child!?' Sigma shouted in a worry.
You hated being called a child but you didn't say anything.
A loud sigh was heard from the end of the room and the man started walking to you both. 'Are you okay?' He asked you sympathetically which took you by surprise 'yeah?' You answered.
'I need your help Sigma!' Nikolai proclaims enthusiastically. 'What do you need?' 'What do I do with them?' Sigma's expression turned from annoyed to a mix of shock and tired disappointment. 'How should I know? Why won't the two of you talk it over or something.' Sigma sighed and you left.
'Why did you adopt me if you don't know what to do with me?' You asked Nikolai he didn't answer and only looked ahead. 'Why won't you just let me go my own way? You don't need to take care of me.' You said looking at him hoping for a response. 'I will not abandon you, that's all you need to know, lets go get ice cream!'

twin peaks: season 1.
dialogue prompts from season one of twin peaks.
is this going to happen every damn time?
now means now.
i thought the only time you cared about was making time.
i'll see you in my dreams.
don't do anything i wouldn't do.
come on, cowboy, light your fire.
i thought i was your little pick-me-up.
quit worrying and start scurrying.
nice day for a picnic.
don't walk away from me like that.
you're not telling anybody anything.
buy you a coffee?
i've never seen so many trees in my life.
have any trouble finding the place?
the whole town's really badly shaken up.
what kind of fantastic trees have you got growing around here?
i told you i had a feeling we'd see ___ again.
you gonna let me in on whatever the hell is going on here?
don't tell me where i ought to be.
muffle it, junior.
i'm not your friend.
i sure know how to pick 'em, huh?
i don't need any damn sympathetic anything.
is there some law against having a picnic?
who are you protecting?
what kind of cigarettes do you smoke?
you're not drinking and driving, are you?
the best-laid plans of mice and men...
don't do it for me. do it for yourself.
there's liable to be a little trouble this evening.
you want me to follow at a discreet distance?
i changed my mind. i'm not sorry.
do your palms ever itch?
who would do a thing like that?
guess why i'm so happy today.
you woke us crying in your sleep last night.
if we tell the truth, we don't have to get our stories straight.
we got places to go and people to see.
i think now i understand how you feel about ____.
don't drink that coffee! you'd never guess: there was a fish in the percolator.
don't 'sweetheart' me, you old dog.
i respect your rebellious nature.
the quieter we become, the more we hear.
you think you got problems?
let's get the hell out of here.
i was up all night working on that invention.
you cannot come by here like this.
it's not the first time and it won't be the last, but i'm in that doghouse again.
god, i love this music.
i've seen some slipshod, backwater burgs, but this place takes the cake.
you don't know what you've done for me.
i told them you were on your world tour and they should contact your press agent.
get your boots off my bed and go to your room.
what is going on in this house?
i mean it like it is. as it sounds.
when i saw the face of god, i was changed.
let's rock.
where we're from, the birds sing a pretty song, and there's music in the air.
thank you for talking to me.
let me tell you about the dream i had last night.
do you know where dreams come from?
i've got compassion running out of my nose, pal.
stupidity is not a necessarily inherent trait.
i do not suffer fools gladly, and fools with badges, never.
the old rustic sucker punch, huh?
in ceremony begins understanding.
don't be afraid. we will all be there together.
sounds like you've been snacking on some of the local mushrooms.
what are you looking at? what are you waiting for?
you damn hypocrites make me sick.
save your prayers. ___ would have laughed at them, anyway.
this must be where pies go when they die.
there's something evil out there. something very, very strange in these old woods.
something horrible is going to happen.
they want to hurt me. i know it.
be a man about it. ask me to my face.
i'm a terrible person. i pretend that i'm not, but i am.
people think of me as their friend. the truth is, i really don't care.
nothing is going to happen to you. not now, not ever. not while i'm around.
do you believe in the soul?
you always said you could never tell us apart.
in real life there is no algebra.
maybe you should run away and join the circus.
i swear on my life, i have changed.
the shortest distance between two points is not necessarily a straight line.
not too many secrets left around here.
i've got one man too many in my life, and i'm married to him.
there isn't all the time in the world. i see that now.
to be perfectly honest, i'm tired and a little on edge.
i can't believe you were ever my age.
i have to put gas in my car like everyone else.
maybe that's our trouble. we never want to hurt anyone. we never just take what we want.
i got your note. are you alright?
you little fruit loop.
they move so slowly when they're not afraid.
i've got tea, i've got cookies. no cake.
shut your eyes and you'll burst into flames.
fire is the devil, hiding like a coward in the smoke.
you're not going to hurt me again.
what you need right now, more than anything else, is a friend.
secrets are dangerous things.
i don't appreciate your attitude.
i'm a little better at faces than names, i guess.
you think people really change?
every day, once a day, give yourself a present.
mother always said i was born lucky.
no names. you don't offer and you don't ask.
there used to be something caring between us.
i never should have taken you up to that house on the hill.
if somewhere under all that scar tissue there's the faintest flicker of what we used to feel for each other, i'm asking you to feel that now.
given what i've become and the way i've treated people, there's no one else i can turn to.
i can't blame you for dreaming.
i always talk too big. that's my biggest fault.
what kind of dangerous game have you been playing?

i still mask indoors basically all the time. idk man it seems polite? i have a friend who's immunocompromised and so i have really strong feelings that people like my friend should have more protections in public? i'm a queer liberal? to my knowledge i have never gotten covid and i don't want to and also getting sick less is great actually?
so, like, that's all fine and i don't usually talk about it because it's not a big deal
but. i am now working a part time customer service job in ~middle America~ and WOW do people want to talk to me about my mask.
by which i mean:
fig 1. "why do you wear a mask?" "i just do." "you know covid isn't real, right? it's a government scam."
fig 2. "why do you wear a mask?" "habit, really :)" "you know my father lived through the Spanish Flu. they've gone back and done some research and most people died of bacterial pnuemonia because of wearing masks." "...okay." "because they aren't clean. do you change your mask often?" "[visibly wearing a KN95] yeah i have disposable masks and reuse them like 3-5 times and then use a new one." "okay good just checking"
fig 3. "why do you wear a mask? or you sick or trying at prevention?" "trying at prevention. i wouldn't come to work if i were sick." "hmm."
fig 4. "oh hey hun! how's your day?" "great, thanks! how's yours?" "good, good. y'know, it's funny, i'm hard of hearing and usually read lips. masks make things harder for me."
fig 5. [elderly person] "can you speak up i can't hear you through that mask"
and like. i am sympathetic to 4 + 5, not at all sympathetic to 1 + 2, and nonplussed at 3.
but mostly i'm just REALLY TIRED OF TALKING ABOUT MASKING
(oh also i forgot the most obnoxious one which is old men complaining about not seeing my face. i'm chronically autistically bad about certain kinds of lying but i really wish i weren't in that instance because i want to say something stupid about how ugly i am but i know i'd Regret It. my face is fine! i like my face! IT'S NOT FOR STRANGERS WHOSE GROCERIES I'M BAGGING)

re: topic of your last anon
I struggle with some aspects of this because some choices made in the friend group, I would not make as the adult I am now (ie drinking around an alcoholic friend). but I can't honestly say that as a young 20 something, I'd have the awareness to see that. even if that's the single argument made against Mew that (now, as a more grown person), I could say "okay, yes", they fail to mention that Sand does the same thing. so, if Mew is a shitty friend for it, then... let the standard apply to Sand as well 🤷‍♂️
I am also tired of all the fingers pointing at Mew when, so far, Sand has enabled Ray all the same, even after hearing the story of how his mom passed. sure, he hesitated pouring his next drink, but they kept drinking and got high soon after all the same.
it's just bias at this point. Mew isn't their fav, so he's vilified, even while the other half of their ship commits the same faux pas.
i struggle with this too, anon. i have a more unique perspective because my best friend when i was in junior high was already an alcoholic and drug addict; i visited her in the mental hospital and i sat in on AA and NA meetings with her as a high schooler. so i did know better at that age.
however, i get why it would be hard to navigate especially when, i don't know how it is in thailand but from my perspective as an american, there aren't a lot of safe spaces for gay people to hang out that don't involve alcohol, and in those places drug dealers and use is pretty common. if you're an alcoholic, finding a place where you and your friends can go where you can meet other queer people and avoid homophobia is really rare. i'd imagine it's similar in thailand. and for this group of friends? where can you go where you feel safe and meet other people like you? of course you're going to go to your trans upperclassman's gay bar. (i mean, it's gotta be a gay bar... idk why that straight guy was there that one time, was he lost? lol)
and while i'm not as forgiving as mew and i don't find him a very interesting character (sorry!), i am sympathetic to ray. being in your early twenties is fucking hard. it's even harder when you're gay, on top of whatever bullshit you've personally been through. the stars just align for you to develop some kind of problem.
i wasn't an alcoholic but even knowing what i knew about addiction, i had bouts in my early twenties when i was drinking in excess with little self-awareness to how it was affecting my friends and me - but i didn't have a friend like mew who told me point blank that i was going through something and needed to slow down or stop. ray does.
(plus, i never blew up my life or hurt anyone that badly; the worst consequences were that i lost a friend who had already been looking for an excuse to throw me away - not getting into it - and... i barfed on some stuff i shouldn't have barfed on lol)
mew sees that his friend is and has been struggling for years, and he wants him to be happy, but he also knows that there isn't anything that he can do to stop him - he can only tell him how he feels about it. and that he shouldn't fucking drive while drunk and high, which he should already know anyway.
mew is looking out for him. ray just isn't listening.
and that's the part where i'm less sympathetic. this person that he loves, who loves him back but in a different way, has been trying to get through to him for years, and not only that but has remained by his side and helped him out of jams because of his problem and all he does is continue while whining about being a burden. do something! at least try, god dammit!
but yeah, anon, i agree. it is just bias. that's always what it seems to come down to with hate for mew (and top): they don't care about forcebook, and they can't handle that their faves would play complicated characters who do bad things - or they see the bad things and have a hard time believing the good they do??? (re: this ask.) what is up with this black and white thinking?? i've never seen a fandom have this hard a time with complex relationships and characters - maybe they're too used to characters acting like cartoons rather than people, idk.
woof, that got really personal! but i'm glad you stopped by, anon!

I just read your previous post
I experienced the same thing with you before. My former best friend is similar to your friend. I have 7 years of friendship with her. It's the very hardest thing that I went through last year.
I had been considering serious talk with her, but it's hard to talk to her since she will talk about herself and literally centered herself in the conversation. "If I was you... I would do this or that" . It seems like advice but no it's not because I feel low esteem, doubting myself and exhausted everything I try to talk her.
"she has her own very complicated life issues, of course, which surely impacted, and still impact her greatly, but it’s not an excuse to not want to do and be better. If anything that should be an encouragement. Coming from someone who had her fair share of struggles in life." I agree with this statement, my former bestie comes from a family who prioritize sons over daughters so yes, her parents don't really pay attention to her. I feel sympathetic toward her so I try to endure her attitude but slowly I feel tired with her because I am absolutely drained by her.
No matter how much advice I give to her, she likes 'yeah lol' and proceeds to do it. She will always say "you don't understand me, you are not in my situation" . It's a guilt trap, I know because I realise how toxic she was for taking advantage of me. I'm willing to listen to her problem, but she refuses to hear me. So no mutual understanding here. What's the purpose of friendship, if someone gives too much but the other takes too much? So I let her go, it's quite hard for me to do but now I'm glad to do so since I meet new friends that are much more like family to me
Therefore, I agree with your decision to let her go. Don't indulge yourself with toxic friends. They will slow your progression and growth in future. At the end, our happiness is in our own hands so prioritise yourself first then others.
Have a nice day
Stay healthy and have a nice day ahead
I’m really sorry that you had to experience something like this. It’s very painful to lose a friend; especially if they have been there for a long time, like in this case. But like you said, it was for the best. By staying together she would have just dragged you down with her. Letting them go is hard, but it’s needed. There’s nothing worse than someone who plays the victim but that doesn’t want to be helped. Some people crave being pitied, and there’s nothing we can do to improve the situation. I’m happy to know that you chose yourself over her. She didn’t deserve to waste more of your time and energy.
I’m sorry she had to struggle, and I really wish her to realize what kind of life awaits her once she gets over her victim mentality.
Thank you for your support, and for taking the time to share your experience with me <333 I’m happy to know you valued yourself enough to walk away from such a difficult friendship. It must have not been an easy choice to make, but I hope you’re proud of it 🩵
Have a wonderful day sweetheart 🫶

7. what character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them? 18. it's absolutely criminal that the fandom has been sleeping on… 25. common fandom complaint that you're sick of hearing
(should I specify fandom? let's say KP)
hi bestie thanks for the prompts!!!!
7. what character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them?
Big - I don't hate him, but I feel like I'm NOT on the same page as a big chunk of the fandom with respect to him. When watching the show, I vaguely disliked him, but didn't care much about him one way or the other. Even when he sacrificed himself, I was like "ok" lol. I didn't think the show did a great job of building him up as a sympathetic character. But I've noticed people in fandom having REALLY strong feelings about him, so it just kind of...baffles me? Whenever I see people post about him, I get a feeling like, "Wow, you're crying over HIM? Again? Really? Him????" 😂
18. it's absolutely criminal that the fandom has been sleeping on…
KP is such a big fandom that I don't think any characters are really being slept on (though I could always do with more Tankhun meta and fics).
Looking to other fandoms, I think Por from My School President deserves 600% more love!!!!!! He's the sweetest boy alive!!! Where does all that optimism come from, and what does it cost him to keep it going?!?!?!?!
25. common fandom complaint that you're sick of hearing
All the discussion of BoC drama, whether we're getting a second season of KP, etc..... I'm tired😭😭 what will be, will be
thanks again for playing!!! I hope I wasn't too negative in these (even though that's the whole point 😂)

now see my problems with geats come from the fact that the writing is bad. it's trying to deconstruct rider tropes without actually deconstructing them; it's failing to make the characters sympathetic when by all means they should be (especially where buffa is concerned; i love that archetype in my rider boys — kumon kaito and hiiro and ren are some of my favorites for a reason — but not once had buffa made me feel like they do); it did a 180 as far as its treatment of female characters is concerned (neon's storyline and development coming because of kyuun; ace's mother basically being a macguffin, and then the fact that they cast an actress younger than hideyoshi kan to play her; pretty much everything regarding tsumuri re: becoming the next goddess of creation; perhaps most egregiously considering that it's 2023, sara getting fridged for the sake of keiwa's development — and by the way you can't portray a character who wants to fridge sara as evil, and then fridge her anyway). the character focus and balance is also messed up — even during the arc of drive that is literally just about shin's daddy issues, there's still plenty of excellent stuff for gou, chase, and kiriko. (of course now "why is geats so ace focused" has probably ruined that kind of criticism forever, unfortunately.)
what's more is that it feels like people who love geats (and you can if you want! all the better to you for still being able to enjoy it! i truly and sincerely wish that was me because i want to enjoy things) will not accept any criticism of the show. mad about how badly keiwa got sidelined? oh, you're just a sad shipper. upset about buffa's actions? you just can't handle moral ambiguity. not only are both of these things untrue (at least in my case — rider is not all about ships for me, and i love morally ambiguous characters when they're done right — kumon kaito! heart! gou is objectively heroic sure but as a black fan of kamen rider a lot of his actions make me uncomfortable so that also is an example!) but they're so obviously just excuses used to deflect, and it's frustrating. say what you want about my beloved revice, for example, and i'll... probably agree with you. revice is not a perfect series. neither is gaim and neither is ex-aid. i'm incredibly passionate about all three of these seasons, and if you come to me with criticisms of them i'll hear you out and listen, regardless of if i agree or disagree. most fans of these seasons are the same.
i'm tired of geats being a sacred cow. i'm tired of being told that i'm "treating the characters like they're real people" or "unable to watch anything but kid's shows" when i point out actually bad writing. and i'm sick of my friends getting criticized when they do the same. i don't know why geats has attracted this kind of fan but it's incredibly upsetting and i'm tired of it.

The room was noisy and full of chatters and laughter. But she was already tired of the superficial chitter-chatters that were nothing more than simple pleasantries. It was not even that Nunnally did not like the social events, but sometimes she just had enough of them. And she was made attending more and more of them. She was holding a glass of red wine in her hand, swirling the content around, slightly bored. She was sort of hiding herself behind the column and observing the crowd uncertain what to do next. She could not stand there for too long. It would simply be impolite. It was then when a specific person drew her attention. He was tall with muddy red eyes, standing pretty much alone. She had never seen anyone similar to him. He piqued her interests; there was something intimidating about the man. It was not really about how he looked (well, perhaps a bit) but more how he claimed the space. And the rumours. She recalled some pieces of gossips considering the man. Yet, she could not remember his name nor anything specific that had been told. It only made her more curious. Then she realized she was staring at him for a longer while. Longer than she should have. Did he notice? Probably. Having nothing to lose, she walked towards the man, smiling, trying to remember what she had heard about him. After all she needed to say something when she was to approach: --
“As for someone with your fame or status, you seemed to rather avoid the crowd and the attention?” – was he really? Or did she just by accident meet him when he was alone? – “Are you also looking for some solitude from the crowd?” – she seemed awkward, didn’t she? But it was quite too late to simply change her mind – “Or perhaps you’re actually looking for some company…”
“My name is Nunnally.” – she introduced herself – “I do not think we’ve been introduced, but you’re definitely chatted about…” – she smiled reaching her hand out to him.
(for Belun)
While he'd rely on his senses for tracking...it served as a hindrance at current. The flurry of voices and flitting bodies were more distracting than entertaining. The beautiful colors of dresses contrasted with the darks of suits as jabbers and laughter buzzed. And it would have been fine if he didn't have to mingle with it.
The Vozenensky head had requested his presence as a favor. And honor bound to such an old tie, Belun hadn't the heart to turn it down. So here he was, feeling ridiculous in ill-suited clothes and navigating the attention thrust upon him. Giving small greetings and deflecting any hyperbolic stories of his job, he remained polite if not concise with answers. And that was on top of hearing out requests for his service, which he listened to but asked for a more formal wording than a brief exchange.
The future head stepped in with a sympathetic clasp on the arm to signal he'd take over for now. He gave a grateful sigh as he excused himself towards a place with better perspective of the main area. Belun watched others with a glass untouched when he felt eyes on him.
All creatures held some degree of instinct for it. While some creatures might flee, it only had him curious. He had a sense of the direction but couldn't venture forth without drawing more eyes. So he waited for either the eyes to return or the people about to shift so he could move unnoticed.
But it turns out he had to do neither as he heard a voice reached out to him. His gaze took in her. A lady of a willowy frame and fairness about her. And her words betray an observance about her. However he couldn't just turn tail when she so graciously approached.
Tumblr media
"Hopefully in a good light. I would hate to start off on the wrong foot with such astute and kind company," he replied as reached her hand for gentle handshake. His vision seeped with tendrils thin as thread that wafted about her and just about any being in the room. He ignored the threads that tempted him and withdrew his hand just before it was weird, "Ah, and I'm Belun. I would offer you a drink but I think you have that handled. Are you also trying to avoid the main festivities?"

Do I mind if I ask how you approach writing longer fic? I've always struggled to write anything more than maybe two chapters long and I'm curious if you have a particular method to how you approach such stories.
Thank you so much for this ask! I absolutely love it when people ask me for writing advice because it makes me feel like a Smart Person Who Knows Things.
Before we start, here is one grain of salt to take all of this with: I have a naturally long-form brain. It is very hard for me to write something less than 1k. Short fiction is great, and there is nothing wrong with sticking to short things if that's what your brain likes to do.
So. You have decided to write a story. This is going to focus on "stories". Some people write fic that's more freeform or whatever, I am not going to cover that. What I mean by a story is this:
It starts
Some stuff happens
It ends
It is highly probable that your story contains a change of state, which could be that a villain is defeated, or a goal is reached, but it could also be that character falls in love with another, or someone learns to like broccoli.
I like to start out by completing the sentence, "This is a story where _______". This is basically like coming up with a summary for an ao3 post, except that it doesn't need to be catchy. Lots of different kinds of things could go in that blank! It could literally be what happens: This is a story where Ichigo goes back in time and punches young Aizen in the nose. It could be about what you want to explore: This is a story where Hitsugaya gets a better understanding of his zanpakutou. It could be about the vibe you want to achieve: This is an AU where everyone is in a punk rock band and has cool hair and outfits. The idea of this is to clearly define what you, the author, is interested in writing. Make sure it feels right! Maybe you pick the first one, but when you say it out loud, you say, "You know, I really just want Ichigo to go back in time so he can horse around with young Renji and Rukia and punching Aizen in the nose is just an excuse for that." That may sound dumb, but it's fine, actually! Most people don't read stories strictly for the plot, they read stories for the implications of those plots! Will my favorite two characters kiss? Will there be funny interactions between these two groups of characters? Will there be sick fights? Stories are excuses to have scenes. Sometimes, you will have a story where the interesting sequence of events is the draw, but the point is to know what you're about.
Once you feel happy with your "mission statement", you need to decide the bounds of your story: where it starts and where it ends. It may be easier to start with the end. In some cases, it may be obvious from your mission statement: everyone gets home, a villain is defeated, Kenpachi realizes the meaning of friendship. On the other hand, let's look at that punk rock AU. You've picked a vibe, but you don't really have a natural story arc. It has to have a destination, though, otherwise, it's not really a story, it's a recipe for 3 chapters of an abandoned fanfic. So brainstorm a little: Maybe they get a record deal? Maybe they win a Battle of the Bands? Maybe Byakuya accepts that the band is actually good and tells Rukia he is proud of her. Do not settle for a plot just because it works. Pick something that makes you excited! You're the one who is gonna have to write it!
I said that we needed to pick a beginning point, too, but I'm actually going to skip that for now. The next thing I do is think of all the Big Scenes I want to write, the ones you are hype to write, the ones that pop in your head as you think about the premise. Make a bullet list. They don't need to be in order. The descriptions don't need to be super detailed, but write down anything about it that is important to you. If there's a mood or a snippet of dialogue or a joke you want to make, go ahead and jot that down so you don't forget it later. What you're doing now is putting broad blotches of color on a canvas, filling in space and leaving the detail for later.
Once you are pretty happy with what you have down, try to arrange it in chronological order. Put your end at the end (if it wasn't one of your big scenes, add it now). The next task is figuring out how to traverse your scenes. You've already picked out where you want to spend the majority of your energy. The rest, I regret to tell you, is your slog writing. Now, it often happens that you will find joy in some of these scenes and your best writing may occur there, but that's serendipity. These are the scenes that you are gonna have to make yourself sit down and write, so you honestly want to limit them to just the ones you need.
So how do we do this? Look at the first thing on the list. Can you start there? If so, congrats, that's your beginning. If you can't, what needs to happen to get to there? Where can you start so that you can get to your first fun scene as soon as possible? There. That’s it. You’ve picked your beginning, good job! Now, go through the rest of your list, and add in things that must happen, even if you don’t particularly look forward to writing them. The characters need to travel from geographic point A to point B. Shuuhei needs to say something that Izuru hears and misinterprets. The Central 46 makes a new law. If you have a good idea of how these things happen, go ahead and write them down, but it’s okay if you don’t know yet. Fill in all the blanks so that if you think of each bullet list as a scene, you could read it as a story, start to end. Once you get writing, you might add more scenes, or move things around or whatever, but you should have a thing that functions as a story.
If you struggle with this, an alternative is a story with a very strong structure that is going to guide you though what you have to write. Here are two examples from my own stories Hold On, Hold On (which is only one chapter, but the principle is the same) is structured around the 5 stages of grief. Not Broken, Just Bent takes place over roughly a week, and I just decided what happened every day of the week. See You on the Other Side takes place in the middle of a bunch of canon events, which worked at mile markers.
Congratulations. You’ve just made a rough outline!
Special note for avoiding burnout!: I am a slogger. I will drag myself through the broken glass of an interminable plot to get to a single thirsty scene. That's why, at this stage, I try to look at the ratio of what I want to write to what I must write. It's gonna vary for everyone, but this is a hobby, and if looking at this proto-outline makes you feel deeply tired, maybe this isn't a good story to be devoting your time to! Can you carve it down? Can you chuck two scenes you really want to write and get rid of 80% of the slog? Or maybe you can't! In that case, just write that thirsty scene as a standalone drabble! Or just go work on something else! Maybe in the future, this one will come back to you and you’ll have a fresh idea or a renewed enthusiasm for it.
Another thing I sometimes like to do at this point is to write out some notes about my characters and their motivations and moods. Character A is homesick. Character B is so determined to defeat the enemy that they are having a hard time being sympathetic to Character A. Character C cares for both A and B and is trying to support them both. This is sort of background info that you want to keep in your head as you are writing. Depending on the type of story you are writing, this might actually be the main plot, or it might be happening subtly, but adding to the emotional impact of the story. It’s very easy for me to write these sorts of emotional arcs, but if you struggle with that, you may wish to go ahead and made a more detailed outline for that, too.
Now, it’s time to start writing! I am great at beginnings-- it is very often the case for me that the opening scene was one of my Big Tentpole Scenes. (Before you hate me too much, I make up for this by being double horrible at endings; just let me have this) Usually, I will start at the beginning and write linearly for as long as I can until I get stuck. Then, I will look forward on my outline and do the next chronological scene that I feel like writing. In general, if I sit down to write and there is something I have an urge to write, that trumps everything else. Inspiration is a precious commodity, and you should embrace it when it hits! You can slog any day. I will occasionally hold off writing a scene that I really want to, because I am saving it, like a prize for myself for getting that far. This is a very personal process of figuring out what motivates your brain and then giving your brain what it needs to be its most productive.
Eventually, you will run out of things you are excited to write, but the good news is, you’ve got a bunch of story now! Odds are that what’s left is going to be a lot of those connective tissue scenes, and you’re just going to have to do them, except that now, because you’re connecting two concrete points instead of two abstract points, it will be a lot easier. You can continue running jokes you’ve started. Maybe you invented a cafe in an earlier scene where your characters hang out and you can have them return there. Try to think of ways to make these scenes more fun, both for yourself to write and for your reader to read.
Around this time, I like to start refining that rough strokes outline into what I will call an “as-built” outline. (This is an engineering term where you update your plans or models for something to reflect any changes that had to be made along the way). This is a great activity to do at times when you feel like you have writers block. I write down every scene I have written as a 2-3 word blurb, in order. I break the scenes into what I think makes logical chapters, and I will do a word count on those prospective chapters and write it down. As you do this, you will realize that maybe you can move a scene from here to there, which will make it 1000% easier to write. Things may be happening too much, or you’ve got the characters eating three times in the same chapter. If you have subplots and dangling threads, this is where you make sure they get closure. I know this sounds very headache-y, but you are so far along in the story at this point that it’s really not-- it’s a way to look at the problems you have left. Use some sort of formatting (I like to bold things I haven’t done and sometimes I put them in red) and it gives you a very visual to-do list.
You specifically mentioned multi-chapter fanfics and I admit that I don’t tend to think in chapters, I tend to think of the story as a whole and just break it up where it feels natural. The as-built outlining I described is very helpful in making sure that my chapters feel balanced. They don’t necessarily need to be the same length, but I like them to have the same amount of stuff in them. One chapter may basically contain one long scene, and other may contain many short ones. I don’t tend to, but you can certainly have a fanfic that varies between short and long chapters, that can actually be an interesting effect. But like I said, I always like to know what I am doing, and so having it mapped out, you can say “welp, this is what I’ve done, how do I feel about that?”
Polynya, you may be saying at this point, do you write the whole fanfic before you post any of it? and I regret to inform you, the answer is yes. A lot of people write as they go, and I have made one attempt at this and I didn’t like it. I don’t like locking myself in, I just need to be able write out of order and go back and change things. Here is the story of a little in love: someone gave me an AU prompt and I got mildly obsessed with it, and wrote 5 snapshots drabbles in that universe, ending with a slight cliffhanger ending. I probably should have stopped there, but I decided to keep going. I wrote out an outline of 5 acts where the first act was detailed to the degree of each chapter being specified. The chapters here were much smaller than I usually make chapters: 1-2k. I wrote act i and ii and it was actually great, and then I hit act iii which required a lot of set up for misunderstandings and a mini romance arc. I couldn’t wing it, but nor could I figure it all out with outlining. I write dialogue in almost sort of an improv “Yes, and...?” style, so until I do it, I don’t know what’s going to happen. So, what I did was treat the second half of act iii as a complete story in the process I describe above, wrote the entire rest of it, and then posted it. One might notice that the chapter lengths grew to 3-5k each. I have two more acts to go, and I haven’t decided how I am going to do them yet, but I suspect I will treat each of them as their own mini-stories.
(I will admit that in Heart is a Muscle, I tend toward chapters that are about 10k long, and this is honestly too long, someone should smack me. If you like punchy chapters, 1-2k is good. I think 3-6k is probably an ideal chapter length. Is this how long the chapters are in my latest fanfic? Absolutely not.)
Okay, so there’s one more step, which is quality control. I am habitual re-reader-- I read my fanfics-in-progress over and over and over while I am working on them. I understand that not everyone does this, but I am usually the primary audience for my own writing, and this is the actual fun part for me. Nevertheless, you should re-read your work at least once, to make sure it hangs together.
This is purely optional, but I recommend it: get a writing friend (if you don’t like re-reading your work, I recommend this even more strongly). If you can get a full-service beta reader, that’s great, but if you can’t find someone, or if receiving that level of critique stresses you out, it’s perfectly valid to just find a friend who will read your stuff and a) shower you with compliments, b) reassure you about parts you aren’t sure about (or suggest ways to help) and c) point out any huge problems you missed. When I am writing a long fanfic, it is a huge motivational factor for me to be able to send my beta chapters as I finish them. If you are already an established writer, and you have people who consistently comment on your fic, they might be overjoyed to get a sneak peak at your work.
And that’s it! That’s the way I do it, anyway! Some people are able to sit down and write a very detailed outline and the write it start-to-finish. Good for them, I say! I have tried this and it doesn’t work great for me. I will admit that some of my fics (especially my early ones) I just sat down and banged out whole-cloth like an insane person and they are generally better than the ones I actually plan out, but that’s not a reproducible process.
As one final mechanical note, I usually write in Google Docs, which I can access on multiple devices (I used to write a lot on my phone), has convenient sharing functionality, and I use the ao3 html formatting script add-in. I generally have two documents for a single story-- one is the outline, and any other notes I want to have handy. I’ll usually put a trashcan space at the bottom for scenes that got cut but I don’t want to lose. The other is the fanfic itself.
I hope this is helpful! Please feel free to follow up with other questions and good luck with your writing!

𝙸𝚜𝚗'𝚝 𝚃𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚆𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝙻𝚒𝚏𝚎 𝙸𝚜 𝙼𝚊𝚍𝚎 𝙾𝚏?
Kit x GN!Reader
Tumblr media
Rating: General
Word Count: 2848
Warnings: None, just lots of fluff✨
Requested by Anon: Mayhaps prompt 84 (“No, Mom, don’t tell him/her I said that about him/her!”) with Kit Walker, but instead he's talking to Jude, Thomas, and Julia. Kit had been dating you for a while and he accidentally had let it slip that he loves you to his family (they all tease him about it constantly). You were planning on visiting later (so everyone could go to the park together or do some other adorable activity) and Kit just knows that someone is going to tell you, and he is trying desperately to avoid that
A/N: Okay, firstly, anon, thank you so much for your lovely message. I haven't been too kind to myself lately (workin' on it), so I really appreciate you being so understanding💜
I kind of went off the rails with this one, and it doesn't actually include the prompt sentence, and the prompt itself is a lil different, but same basic idea, I think... I really hope you like it!!
Also, Jude is healthy bc I refuse to make this angsty.
The title comes from 'I Think I Love You' by The Partridge Family, and on that note, I'm also dedicating this to one of my favorite humans. She's not really into AHS, but David Cassidy is her mans, so Sierra, this one's for you!! Thank you for always being a wonderful friend💜💕

“Jude, I need your help.”
In general, Kit Walker considers himself to be a pretty easy-going guy; usually, there isn't much that gets to him. But today’s different. There’s something that he’s simultaneously ecstatic about and dreading.
Today's the day you’ll be meeting his family for the first time.
“With?” Jude’s smirking amusedly where she sits across from him at the kitchen table sorting dish ware and arranging it carefully in the picnic basket in front of her. Kit glances at the clock on the wall and sighs; he's got just over an hour before he, Jude and the kids are supposed to meet you at the park, and he couldn’t be much more anxious about it if he tried... Not for nothing, though.
“I just wanna make sure today goes well.” He finishes wrapping the sandwich in his hand, placing it in the basket to join the plates.
“And you don’t think it will?” Jude raises an eyebrow; she may be a particularly perceptive woman, but it isn't very difficult to see that there's something Kit isn't saying.
His mind drifts for a moment to the other night, when he and Jude sat in the living room, chatting quietly after the kids had gone to sleep. She’d asked about you, and before Kit knew it, he was spilling his guts to her, finally speaking the words he’s been unable to say to you. It’d felt amazing to finally get them out... until he noticed Julia peaking around the door frame, brown eyes trained on he and Jude She scurried off, giggling quietly down the hall, and when he asked her about it the next day, it was clear to Kit that his daughter had heard the entire conversation. And it didn’t need to be said that she had told Thomas; the two of them have never kept anything from each other in their lives…
“I hope it does.” Kit replies after several moments of silence. He’s not at all concerned about whether or not you’ll get along with his family. There’s no doubt in his mind that Jude will be taken, and the kids are going to adore you. “I just need help makin’ sure they don’t say anything.” He glances toward the two small figures in the next room where they lie on the floor, markers in hand as they draw colorful pictures and fill out puzzles from the day-old newspaper Jude had provided to keep them occupied.
“About?” Jude's smirk grows into a playful grin. She’s having fun with this; a little too much, in Kit’s opinion. He scowls and she laughs quietly.
“About... y’know?”
“About how you love them?” Jude’s voice carries into the next room a bit too loudly for Kit’s liking, and his eyes go wide. He places a finger to his lips, eyes darting to the children to make sure they’re still distracted; so far, so good.
“Yes.”
“Well, when are you going to tell her? You’re not getting any younger, y’know.” Kit's unable to stop the smile that breaks across his face.
“Soon. I just… need to find the right moment.”
“There’s no such thing as the right moment, Walker," she chortles, rolling a bundle of silverware into a napkin. “But…I’ll do my best.” Kit smiles gratefully, but she shakes her head continuing. “But they’re kids. Kids'll say whatever they want to.” Knowing she's right, Kit groans, running a hand through his hair before feeling around in the pocket of his jeans for his pack of cigarettes.
He's in for an interesting day.
——
The worn wood of the bench feels rough under your fingers as you tap against it anxiously. You take a quick peak to your right again, in search of the vehicle you’re waiting for. It’s a big day. In just- you glance down at your watch for the fifth time – two and a half minutes, your boyfriend is supposed to arrive with his family.
It terrifies you.
It’s not that you have any issues with kids. You love them. Becoming a parent has always been a part of the plan for you. However, you don’t have much experience with them and, this is the first time you’ve ever been with someone with children of their own. It’s... intimidating.
Kit, however, has been nothing but reassuring. A small smile crosses your face, thinking of the last thing he’d said to you when he'd called last night. Don’t worry, babe. They’re gonna love you.
God, you hope he’s right.
Kit’s told you so much about his kids over the last several months the two of you have been together, and you can tell by the warmth in his voice, by the way his eyes light up when he tells you something funny one of them did, that they are his world. As they should be. You wouldn’t want it any other way.
There's absolutely no doubt in your mind that you've fallen head over heels for this man... That’s what's so frightening; you don’t want to screw anything up. For anyone's sake.
You’re in the middle of reciting some of the things Kit had told you about the kids- ‘Julia’s really into football right now, a little chatterbox, and Thomas loves readin’, but he’s pretty shy’- when you hear tires making their way along the narrow dirt road. Turning your head again, your stomach flips when you see the familiar station wagon- much fuller with people than normal- pull into the small parking lot. You smile, raising your hand in a wave when Kit sees you, and swallow hard.
The driver’s door quickly opens, and Kit makes his way over, basket in hand. The passenger, Jude, stays behind to help the kids out of their seats.
“Hey, you.” Kit murmurs, a smile on his face as he leans down to press a tender kiss to your cheek.
“Hi.” With a shaky breath, you take your bottom lip between your teeth when he pulls back. With a sympathetic smile, Kit takes your hand, giving it a gentle squeeze.
“They’re gonna love you,” he reminds, and you huff a laugh. Julia begins speaking excitedly as she hops out of the car; you can’t make out what she’s saying, but she sounds enthusiastic, so you’re taking that as a good sign.
“If you say so.” You grip his hand more tightly and he chuckles as the two of you make your way toward the sound of the animated voice.
Now or never.
“Y/N!” You jump at the sound, completely taken off guard- even more so when something barrels into you, wrapping around your waist. You look down to see the small girl- the one that you recognize from the many pictures Kit has shown you -beaming up at you. Kit laughs, scooping her up into his arms as Jude moves to stand in front of the three of you. Thomas hangs onto her hand, hiding behind her dress.
“Y/N, this is Jude, Thomas, and you’ve already met Julia.” He shakes his head, tickling his daughter’s ribs until she’s leaning into him, in a fit of giggles.
“It’s so nice to finally meet you all,” you say, hoping the smile on your face doesn’t come across as uneasy.
“We could say the same to you. This one,”- she gestures to Kit- “is talking about you constantly.” You smile widely at this, eyes moving to Kit to find his cheeks turning rosy.
“Oh, really?”
“Uh-huh!” Julia chimes in, Thomas slowly nodding his agreement.
“Oh, you.” You nudge Kit’s arm gently, and his eyes shift quickly back and forth between the children. Jude lets out a trill of laughter then, taking Julia’s hand in hers.
“Why don’t we find somewhere to sit? I’m sure we’re all getting hungry.” The kids agree enthusiastically, taking off in a sprint toward a nearby gazebo where several tables sit. “Hey, slow it down, you two!” Jude calls, following them.
You turn to Kit, who brings your hand to his lips, placing a kiss there; there’s something about his expression that you can’t quite place, but he seems happy, so you’re happy. “I’m glad you’re here,” he says, letting your hands fall and dangle together as the two of you slowly make your way to the table where the children sit, awaiting their lunch. Julia laughs beckoning the two of you over, and there’s a shy little smile on Thomas’ face. Your nerves are slowly fading, and you let out a breathy sigh, smiling up at him.
“I’m glad I’m here, too.”
--
The meal is fantastic, and by the time you’re wiping your mouth on your napkin and placing it down on the empty plate in front of you, you can hardly remember why you were so panicky about this meeting in the first place. The food is delicious, Jude accepting your compliments on her potato salad graciously. The two of to you discuss your job, her asking about the intricacies of what you do. Not in a prying way, though; she seems genuinely interested.
It’s not long before the kids take to you, either. Julia already has, it seems, as she insists on sitting across from you while you eat. She tells lots of stories; everything from the science project she and Kit have been working on for school, to the time that Jude took her and Thomas to the zoo.; you find out that hippos are her favorite animal. “Isn’t it so cute when they wiggle their ears??” she asks.
Thomas takes a bit more coaxing, but not much; not when you decide to ask him what his favorite book is. His eyes light up and he brings up several, speaking excitedly about a chapter from the one he's currently in the middle of.
“Daddy, can we play now?” Julia asks, setting her fork down; she bounces around like she’s ready to jump out of her seat, and you can’t help but giggle.
“Sure,” Kit chuckles, placing his empty glass of iced tea on the table. I’m just gonna use the bathroom real quick, but go onnahead.” He stands, patting your shoulder. Shooting what he hopes is a discreet glance Jude's way, he moves toward the small bathroom stalls a few yards away.
Jude laughs, a soft smile on her face, watching as Julia moves to cling to your arm. “Alright, Thomas, it. looks like it’s you and me. What do you wanna do first?” She takes the small boy’s hand, and he leads them in the direction of the sandbox.
Julia glances around, and when she sees that everyone’s out of earshot, she leans into you, bringing a hand to her mouth to ask, “Y/N, can I tell you a secret?”
Her over-exaggerated whisper and enthusiasm make you giggle, and you nod. “Sure.”
She climbs into the seat beside you, leaning in closer to speak into your ear. “My daddy loves you.”
You’re quiet for several seconds, having absolutely no idea how to respond. You look down at her, eventually stuttering out, “O-oh… really? How do you know that?” You're half expecting a nonsensical answer, but when she opens her mouth, the young girl is serious.
“I heard him and Nana talking about it the a couple'a nights ago when I got out of bed for a drink of water.” She grins up at you. “…But I can just tell.”
“H-how can you tell?”
She shrugs. "He smiles when he talks about you." Her answer is so simple, so pure, and it holds so much meaning; you're sure there's a dopey grin growing on your face right now.
“Well, your dad’s pretty great. And I think you’re pretty great, Julia.” Her smile grows impossibly wider as she wraps her arms around your neck, pulling you into a tight hug. You hold her tiny frame and are on cloud nine when you spot Kit closing the door to the restroom behind him; when he sees the two of you still sitting there, he makes his way over.
Kit chuckles to himself, overcome with joy when he walks out of the bathroom to see you holding Julia in an embrace, smiles on both of your faces. He walks slowly toward you, silently praying that his daughter hasn’t said anything she shouldn’t have. So much for Jude’s help… Should'a known better. He glances at his friend, sitting on the edge of the sandbox with his son. Jude looks up, smirking, and he rolls his eyes at her.
Nevertheless, he’s decided. It has to be now.
“What’re you two doin’ over here?” He places a warm hand on your arm as he stands behind you, appraising his daughter. “Jules, I thought you wanted to play? You’ve been sayin’ how excited you were for the jungle gym all week.” Julia’s small legs swing back and forth as she watches her father, with a shrug.
“I wanted to talk to Y/N first.”
“Well, we can keep talking while we play, then,” you decide, standing quickly, but Kit grabs your hand, stilling you.
“Actually, I wanna talk to you about somethin’ real quick.” His voice is low in your ear, and he watches his daughter tensely.
“Oh, o-okay.” Your eyes move to Julia and you smile. “Why don’t you go down the slide a few times, and I’ll be over there in a minute?”
“Okay!” The little girl jumps from her spot, sprinting toward concrete of the playground.
“Be careful!” Kit shouts after her. With a chuckle, he takes his previous seat and pats the one beside him. You smile happily, leaning your head on his shoulder when you move next to him.
“They’re really great, Kit. All of them.”
Kit smiles proudly, watching as Jude helps Thomas make some sort of sculpture in the sand. “They are,” he agrees with a nod. “Jude likes you. The kids really like you.”
“I’m so glad.” You sigh in relief, turning to meet his gaze. “I was so worried they’d all hate me.”
“How could they?” he asks, leaning in to place a sweet peck to your lips. You smile against his mouth, your own tingling as he pulls back. You can’t help but glimpse toward playground to see if the kids have noticed. They’re still preoccupied, but Jude’s noticed; she sends you a wink and your cheeks grow warm. Seeing the exchange, Kit scowls playfully, waving a hand at her. She laughs, turning back to the sandy masterpiece Thomas is working diligently on.
“So,” Kit begins... Deep breath. “There’s somethin’ I’ve been wantin’ to talk to you about.”
“Okay.” Your heartbeat pounds in your ears. “What’s up?” …Could it be?
“It’s something I’ve wanted to say for a while, actually. He’s looking at his hands as he says this, biting down on his bottom lip when his gaze finally meets yours. “I haven’t felt this way about anyone in… a long time. Not since...” He trails off, but you know he’s thinking of the kid’s mothers, so you nod in understanding. “Honestly it’s a little scary, but I think I- I mean, I know I-“ He cuts himself off, and takes a deep breath, shaking his head slowly. “Christ. I dunno why this is so hard, I just…” He sighs deeply.
“…Kit?”
“Yeah?”
“…I love you, too.”
“You… you love m- wait, what?” His eyes grow wide, and he groans after a moment, knowing exactly who the culprit is. “Julia told you?” You can't help but laugh quietly, nodding your confirmation. “I shoulda known. My little blabbermouth.” A wistful smile grows on his face, and the amount of adoration you feel for this man in this moment is staggering.
“So… it’s true, then?” you ask, taking one of his hands in both of yours.
He nods, smiling as he leans in to press his forehead to yours. “I love you, Y/N. I do.” His voice is hardly above a whisper, but it feels like a shout; a declaration. Your returning smile is bright, certainly one of the best Kit’s ever seen- one he’s sure he’ll remember for the rest of his life -and when you wrap your arms around his neck, his own widens further, the muscles in his face beginning to ache, but he couldn't care less.
“I love you, Kit Walker. So much.” You move in for a kiss of your own; it’s short, but full of more meaning than any you’ve ever had.
Pulling back, you pat his knee gently. You stand from your seat, offering a hand out to him. “C’mon. Earlier, I promised Julia I’d watch her on the monkey bars.” Kit laughs, taking your hand and slinging an arm around your waist once he’s standing. You make your way to where the girl is currently whizzing down the largest slide in the park, squealing with laughter. Glancing at the sandbox, you see Jude eyeing you, a knowing smirk on her face; you blush, but smile back.
Right here, right now, moving toward the laughter of Kit’s loving family, there isn’t a sliver of doubt in your mind that this is meant to be.
This is where you belong.

Afterglow (A Bucky Barnes AU fan fiction) - Chapter 7
Tumblr media
Afterglow chapters
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x reader
CHAPTER SEVEN
Lunch with Bucky was spent in a little Italian place right across the bar. It belonged to a seventy-year old Italian immigrant named Marco who invested in it with nothing but his savings when he first came to New York. Fifteen years later, his little dining place stood still through its ups and downs. In fact, business was getting stronger for Marco ever since the bar opened.  His target customers expanded from fellow immigrants to little boys who played soccer in the little league and finally to drunk bastards who wanted pizza in the middle of the night. He also started putting up a 24/7 sign and hired more people to work for him. Marco gave me a sympathetic smile as soon as he passed by you with a bottle of hot sauce he knew you liked.
"Where's the hunk?" His Italian accent never faltered. "Ditched ya?"
Lunch with Bucky was also cut short when he received a phone call from Leonard about an emergency in the White Wolf. "It's Leonard." He said. "Gotta get back to the hotel." Then you slipped in a tiny question, seeing a different phone on his hand: "Is that your phone? I thought you left it in your penthouse, that's why you crashed into our apartment."
"I borrowed Peter's old phone when we did our little fiancè act back there. Then I got my phone back after I ate all that food."
"And here you are again eating."
"Not anymore, I'm not." He chuckled, getting up from the chair and throwing his napkin gently on the table. "I gotta go, doll. Duty awaits. I'll see you around."
You were left there with two plates of pasta, one large pizza, and a hundred dollar bill that covered the whole meal. "Plus tip." Bucky then fled and hailed a cab. He gave you one last look and a small salute before getting inside then off he went.
"He had some business work to do." You replied. "Can I take these to-go please? Oh, and here." You handed Marco the hundred dollar bill and said something you have never said (not once!) in your entire life. "Keep the change."
Marco grinned, took the money and placed it inside his apron pockets. "Any chance you got four more of this?"
"Hey, that's with the tip already!" You playfully rolled your eyes and leaned back on the chair. "And you should ask the hunk that. Not me."
He started taking some plates off the table, his back a bit hunched as he did. "Who was that anyway? Finally replaced that old boyfriend of yours?"
"Old boyfriend? Marco, I'm single. Oh no, you're not at that stage now, are you?" It was meant as a joke but you did genuinely care for the old guy.
Marco stopped from picking up the plates and stood taller. "What ya talking 'bout?"
"You know," you whispered, "the forgetful stage."
"Oh fuck off." You earned a glare from him then continued to pick up the plates from the table before wiping it clean. A mother covered her three-year-old daughter's ears, with pasta noodles falling out of her mouth. She said something to Marco but was overpowered by his voice. A man in his 40's kept looking at you and Marco, probably wondering what the fuss was all about. "I'm still young!" He added. "And you know who I'm talking about. The guy you live with."
You scoffed and gave him an unbelievable look as you watched him clean, avoiding the stares people were starting to give. "That's not my boyfriend, Marco." You whispered.
"What? He's not?"
"He's my roommate." You took a sip of your bottled water. "We're roommates, nothing more."
"Well, good. I like the hunk better than that skinny roommate of yours." He bellowed laughing, holding his big, round belly. His voice echoed against the walls.
"Wait, so you thought Peter was my boyfriend this whole time?" You genuinely asked.
"Well, yeah! You were always together eating and whatnot. What was I supposed to think?"
You were supposed to argue with Marco that it was okay to be friends with someone of the opposite gender: to platonically hangout twenty-four seven, have pizza nights, movie nights, and all the things couples do but in a very platonic way. But Marco was an old man who stubbornly clung to his ancient beliefs. You didn't want to light a fire you and him. Besides, you were still on your way to earning his trust and getting a friend discount.
"Unbelievable." You mumbled, hoping he wouldn't hear it. Despite his old age, Marco still had the ears of a twenty-year old.
"You and me, both. All the time I was thinking to myself, you could do better!"
Oh, God. I know where this is going. You thought. "I'm not letting you set me up with your son, Marco."
"Why not?"
"Because he's old." You groaned, wishing he would just clear the table and just get it on with your to-go Italian food.
"So was that hunk you were with!"
Tired of all the back and forths, you sighed. "Marco, can't you just give me the food? I still have work to do."
"Yeah, yeah, aight. Don't nag me." Marco grunted. "You sounding like my ex-wife back there." His voice faded once he went back towards the counter, and started placing the food in the little to-go boxes.
Your phone on the table lit up. A text message from Peter asking you if you were still with Bucky. You replied back instantly that he went back to the White Wolf. You received no more messages from him after that.
A few seconds later, a figure approached and stopped right in front of you. You looked up and saw one of your friends who also did photography back in college.
"Wanda?"
Wanda flashed you that sweet smile of hers that reminded you of chocolates, rainbows, and unicorns.
"Aria! Wow, it's so nice to see you!" She crouched down to envelope you in a warm hug, then sat across from you, where Bucky was sitting a few minutes ago. She placed her small, shiny purse right on the table, her painted nails never letting it go. "I was just walking down the street and then saw you from the window. How are you? It's been quite long, huh?"
"Yeah, I'm doing good." Wanda could be such a Chatty Cathy. She was the kind of person that never let silence take over a room. If you memory served you right, you haven't seen each other since you graduated from college. She was a year younger than you and even though you stayed in New York the whole time, you never bothered to visit her at NYU Tisch during her last year. "How about you? How have you been doing?"
"I'm doing real good too! I actually set up my own studio a year ago in Manhattan after being a wedding photographer. I now photograph models, sometimes I do photowalks. I also hold photo exhibits from time to time." Unlike you, Wanda chose to follow her passion and majored in Photography and Imaging. "It's been really fun!"
Albeit feeling happy for her, a pang of jealousy struck you. You tried your best to ignore it and said: "That's great, Wanda. I'm so proud of you. You've come a long way since then."
She grinned. "I did, yeah. How about you? How's the business thing?"
You pursed your lips. "I'm actually juggling two jobs right now. I bartend at that bar over there," you pointed across the street, "and I also started a photography business." You continued. "I just do product photos for small businesses."
It was nothing big like Wanda's. Actually, it wasn't anything compared to her Manhattan studio and photowalks and photo exhibits. Nothing at all.
Her jaw dropped. Eyes wide. "Bartending? Wow! That doesn't sound like you at all!"
You chuckled then shook your head. "Who would've thought, huh? But it's pretty convenient and it pays half of my rent."
"You're still living with the Parker guy?"
"Actually, yes I still am." You replied. "But it's just the two of us now."
"Nothing more comforting than a familiar face around, huh?" She answered. "Oh hey, it's great you're still doing photography. I thought it was just a hobby of yours."
"I fell in love with it more during college, you know that."
Wanda just nodded her head in response then looked at her wrist watch. "Right. Well, this has been fun but I have a meeting to go to at some company who wants to talk about collaborations and stuff. You know the drill." She stood up from the chair, its legs scraping the wooden floors. "It was really nice to see you, Aria. I hope we can see each other again soon."
You mirrored her and stood up, reaching for a hug. "It's nice to see you too, Wanda." You let her go, then rambled. "I'm just in the bar if you ever wanna grab a drink or maybe coffee or lunch or anything, really."
"I will." She replied.
Before walking out, Wanda placed her hand on your shoulder, matched with a tight-lipped smile; like the gesture of someone towards a family member at one's funeral. Funnily enough, it was kind of appropriate. Your career in photography might as well be dead. You haven't received any work inquiry in over a month now, and some businesses have been rejecting your photography services. It was the classic "it's not you, it's me" scenario. They just found someone better.
With Wanda out of sight, you drained your thoughts and continued to stare at the moving cars on the streets. Getting you out of your trance was Marco tapping you on the shoulder.
"You alright there, kid?" He asked while handing you a plastic bag full.
"Yeah, sorry." You answered. "Just got distracted." You relieved him of your to-go food, grabbing it from his calloused hands.
"I know that kid you were talking to."
"Wanda?"
"Yeah, yeah. She photographed my son's wedding."
"The one you kept setting me up with?"
"Not that old bastard." He answered, frowning. "The younger, hotter one. With all the cheekbones and the eyes. Got them from me." Marco looked like a taller Danny DeVito. You doubted this "younger, hotter one" of his looked anything like Marco. "She also photographed my daughter's wedding."
"Jesus. How many children do you have?"
"Five." He chuckled. "I got some great swimmers."
You made a guttural sound and rolled your eyes. "Oh, God. Did not need to know that. Anyway, I gotta go. See you around, Marco." With that, you started to walk out and headed straight to the apartment.
There was nothing much to do once you got in the apartment besides putting the leftovers inside the fridge. The bar usually opened at four in the afternoon for happy hour so you took a short nap and was able to clear you head of all the things that happened overnight.
You woke up at about three in the afternoon and headed down the bar. By the time you got there, Nick was already inside, arranging the tables and chairs that were turned upside down.
"Hey, you got in early today." You greeted him as you approached the bar counter.
Nick looked up, hands still wrapped around a table. "Yeah well, I can't let you be employee of the month every single time."
"Living right above the bar does have some of its perks." You chuckled, grabbing an apron. "Need help with those?"
He answered no but his actions said otherwise. You jogged towards him and lifted the other side of the table, placing it on the floor without making much of a sound. You walked towards the other tables then started lifting one, praying to God you won't let it slip away from your arms but of course, you still had no luck on your side. Once Nick asked you that one question ("Do you want to go on a date with me?") you didn't want to hear, you dropped the table on your right foot. Bam! You stifled the sound of pain that itched your throat. Nick shuffled towards me and asked me if you were okay. You gently shrugged him off, telling him that it was nothing and that you you recently had a concussion less than twenty-four hours ago, this was absolutely nothing.
"You sure?" He asked. His hand gripped my waist, trying to maintain my balance.
"Yes, Nick." You straightened up and tried to stretch your right foot, checking if it was sprained or not. Thankfully, it was still good for running.
He let go of you then scratched the back of his head. His eyes focused on the wooden floors. "That was not a good time to ask that."
"I don't think there was ever a good time to ask that."
"Is that a no?"
Your mind recalled the conversation you and Peter had at the elevator: "Never dip the pen in company ink, right?"
Yes, it was easier to let him down easy with no one else around. You could also tell him you'll think about it but either way, you'd still be spending the remaining minutes in the bar with the fleeting awkwardness hanging in the air. But the silence was becoming heavier each second you weren't saying anything so you just shut your mind for a second and said: "Is it okay if I think about it first?"
"Yes. Sure. Of course!" He replied, finally meeting your eyes. "Just let me know. You know where to find me. Just here in the bar. 'Cause I work here."
"I know, Nick." You snickered. "I work here too."
"Right, right." He shook his head. "I'm just gonna..." He trailed off, pointing to the tables with his thumb.
"Yeah, I'll just..." You didn't know where else to go so you just made up an excuse. "I'll just be in the kitchen."
"What are you gonna do there?"
"I think there are still some shipments there? From earlier?" Lie. "I'll take care of them. Don't worry."
"O-okay."
And with that, you left Nick arranging tables and chairs while you headed towards the kitchen, sat on the floor and scrolled through different social media platforms before one of the cooks entered the kitchen. You ignored the befuddled look she gave you. It was the sign to  stand up and walk out of the kitchen. So you did.
Once Peter walked in the doors, you grabbed a bottle of beer and removed the bottle cap. You greeted him with a smile and placed his drink on the counter. "Hey, Parker. Guess what?"
"Hey, y/n." He smiled, sitting on the stool and placing his briefcase on the counter. He immediately grabbed the beer bottle and took his first sip. "Nick finally asked you out?"
"You don't know the rules to the 'Guess What' game, do you?"
"Oh, I know the rules." He replied. "I'm just a born rule breaker. So," he stared at his beer bottle scratching the sticker with his thumbs, "did you say yes?"
"I told him I'll think about it."
"And you've thought about it?"
"Yes."
"...and?"
"I'm gonna tell him no." You walked away from Peter, pouring beer from the beer tap into a beer mug for one of the regulars who just walked in. "It's kind of hard to work with someone you're dating or you've dated. I mean, you learned that the hard way, right?"
Peter groaned, reminiscing the time he dated his co-worker, a certain Denise, for six months, stringing her along for a couple more before dumping her. He couldn't even begin to describe how much hatred Denise had for Peter. One night, you found Peter on the rooftop, writing his resignation letter. Of course, you had to throw it after sneaking up on him behind his back. Apparently, Peter couldn't take any more of Denise's death stares during meetings, lunch breaks, and any time she was around Peter. Luckily, Denise got fired the next day for some legal dispute. Peter drank his whole night away that very day and you ended up taking care of him. The next day, you told him everything he'd done that night except one thing: trying to kiss you.
"Hey," Peter hissed, "here he comes. Good luck." He swiftly left his briefcase and beer bottle on the counter, hurrying his way towards the toilet.
You gave Nick a small smile once he opened the counter pass-through. "Nick. Hi."
"Y/n. Hi!"
"So, about the thing earlier -- "
"Can I get a beer?" Interrupted a man on your left side but you couldn't care less. You put up your hand in front of his face. "In a mug!"
Before you could even say "I'm sorry, Nick, but I can't date a co-worker. It's just not right. But you're great. Not just with me" the man shooed your hand away. "Hey! The hell is this?"
You groaned. "You'll get your beer in just one moment, okay?"
The man huffed and left the counter then sat on a nearby table, flipping me off. You rolled your eyes at him and brought your attention back to Nick who was still waiting for your answer. While halfway through your short speech you have been preparing in your head, he interrupted with a: "Yeah, yeah, I know where this is going. It's fine. It's alright. I understand. I'll let you get back to work."
He started turning around but you immediately stopped him. "So this is okay, right? No weird tension between us, or something like that?"
He nodded his head and sent you a warm smile. "Yeah, everything's good. At least I tried, y'know. I'll, uh, see ya around 'cause y'know -- "
"You work here, yeah."
"Yeah. Well... " And with that, he treaded away towards the pass-through and approached some newcomers.
The man from earlier was still staring at you so you went ahead and opened the beer tap. Before the liquid even reached the top of the mug, a hand laid on top of the tap handle and turned the tap off.
"Now," Bucky's voice rang inside your ears, "how about you make me a mean drink, doll?"

Y/n's POV
" I Just don't Know what To do Izuku! You're Telling Me He Likes me but he barely even takes a glance at me! The bad thing is that whenever I try approaching him... Or even expressing my Love for him... He screams bloody murder and roasts me like there's no tomorrow! " I complained as I buried my face within my palms .
I was on the verge of tears simply because of a shitty crush. I felt Izuku's Hand caress my head as He stared down at me with a sympathetic gaze.
" There, There y/n. Let it all out " He muttered making me want to cry even more but I wasn't done venting.
" I've been chasing him ever since we were in middle school! Ironic how I give nothing but love but receive pain instead... I think... I should finally Give up" I whispered the last part and Izuku's movements were put in a halt.
" Really? After everything you've been doing for him? You'll just give up?! That's not you y/n! You're the type of person who fights with everything you've got without losing hope! And that's pretty admirable! I may not be as close with Kaachan as I was before but I know for a fact that he likes you too and is just too... Errr... Umm... How do I say this? Uhh He just has a really big Ego to admit it " He tried lifting my spirit up but I was tired. My heart was tired and I just wanted to... Give up or maybe Just Rest for a couple of weeks.
" Yeah? Well you think pretty Highly of Me Izuku.... But I'm weak too you know and there are battles I must quit.... I'll just try to recollect myself and rest for a few weeks Or so, I'll have to set my Priorities straight too... Ya know... If you get what I mean and all " I chuckled trying to mask the pain and it was futile. Izuku can read me like an open book.
He gave me a solemn look before nodding. This little cinnamon roll is just too kind and understanding, he even accompanied me to this very cafe we were in when he saw me looking down coming out of the Dorms.
" I get it, People need to cool off from time to time " He gave me a small smile and I returned it with a grin.
" Hey! You know there's this Carnival That was set up last week and it's their last day today! I had two tickets and tried inviting Katsuki.... I mean Bakugou Yesterday and he almost blew these tickets away.... It would be a waste if we don't use it so why don't we start my Personal Growth and healing by having Fun!? " I exclaimed and Izuku looked genuinely as excited as me.
" Really!? Sure! I'd like to go! It's been awhile since I actually had fun because of all the Pressure and Stress! " He smiled and I grabbed his hand immediately and dragged him out of the cafe and Off to The carnival we Go!.
_________________
" Man! And Don't even get me started on the Food there! Although the Almight Mascot looked Really Weird it was still fun! " I Beamed as Izuku opened the front door.
" Yeah! And the Fireworks were awesome Too! I'm really glad we hung out today! " He bashfully stated as we simultaneously stepped inside .
" And Where have you two gone to? Maybe you shouldn't have came back if you'd show up in the middle of the damn night " Aizawa sensei suddenly appeared out of nowhere making me and Izuku flinch in shock.
" W-why... Hello there sensei " Midoriya stuttered fear ridden as he glanced down at me.
' Shit we're screwed '
" Guys! I believe it was extremely irresponsible to be gone without a word and come back at an unearthly hour! You could have atleast sent one of us a message or even answered Our calls! So we wouldn't be this anxious of your arrival! " Iida Sped walked towards me and Izuku and that's when we noticed that everyone was still up and gathered in the common room.
" We were so worried about you guys! We thought a villain took you or something! "
" Not cool dude, Aizawa Sensei almost flipped and called out a search team to look for you guys "
" You could have told us before you left "
Came the concerned comments of our classmates. It made my heart swell up with Joy and at the same time Guilt.
" We're so Sorry! " Me and Izuku yelled in Sync bowing our heads.
" It was my fault! I forgot my phone in my room! And Izuku was just accompanying me to a small cafe in town... And I invited him to go have fun at the carnival... To Distress.... I didn't think you guys would be this worried but thank you for worrying about us! " I yelled an apology and Izuku was fast to take the blame.
" No it's my fault! I turned off my phone and left without informing anyone and without thinking of the consequences! Neither me and y/n were aware of the time. We won't do it again! We're sorry guys" Izuku frowned as I placed my hand on his shoulder.
With a sigh Aizawa gave us a stern look scratching the back of his head before speaking.
" Look, this better not happen again or else you two will be in serious trouble. You're lucky tomorrow's a Sunday so No school . Just make sure to say something next time and not disappear without a trace "
" Yes sensei! " Izuku answered while I nodded my head vigorously.
As Aizawa continued his Lecture my eyes drifted towards the crowd of my classmates and what surprised me was that Bakugou was Present. He was awake. Did he actually give a fuck?... No he's probably dragged into this by Kaminari or Kirishima.
After a long 30 minutes of sermon Aizawa sensei finally let us go.
In the end everyone returned to their rooms and Before I went to mine I gave Izuku a Hug as a ' Thank you for being there for me ' and I was unaware of a pair of crimson red eyes staring at us.
_____________
The Next Day
_____________
I heard knocking on my door which forced me to wake up and open the door and to my surprise it was Izuku and Uraraka.
" Morning Guys.... What brings you here? " I yawned blinking my eyes as the two chuckled at my messy appearance.
Bed hair, oversized t shirt and drool on the corner of my lips.
" We came here to invite you for breakfast! Everyone is gathered in the common room! You're a pretty heavy sleeper! Jirou and Momo tried waking you up earlier and there was no answer " Uraraka explained but still, sleep was very much alive in my system and I just gave a lazy nod before hanging again.
" Looks like she's still Tired Uraraka, you go on ahead we'll catch up with you" Izuku offered and Uraraka was fast to jolt away a from us.
" Ok! But you better not let her go back to sleep Deku! Everyone's counting on you to wake her up! " Uraraka yelled as she headed downstairs.
I was swaying back and forth with my eyes half lidded and I had a sudden urge to sleep on the floor.
" Still sleepy? " Izuku asked and fortunately I was still awake enough to give him a nod.
" Wanna get on my back? I'll carry you down stairs so you'll have time to rest " He offered while turning his back against me and bending down.
Without hesitation I fell on his back and subconsciously wrapped my arms around his neck and my head resting on his back.
I felt his scarred hand grip my thighs and he lifted me off the ground and started walking.
Honestly I didn't know how long it took him to get to the common room but I was happy I had a really nice friend to carry me like this.
" Wow, Midoriya when we told you to get Y/n we didn't know you'd actually ' Get ' Her " The familiar Voice of Kaminari commented and I was thankfully awake or more like I forced myself to be awake.
I peeked my eyes at him and stuck my tongue out.
" Yeah you're just jealous cause Izuku is Carrying me " I retorted and Izuku's chest vibrated in a small chuckle.
" You two a Thing Now or something? " Mina grinned pointing at us with her chopsticks.
" No Mina we're not a Thing. We're People " I countered and she gave a light laugh.
" Smart move y/n. Smart move "
" Do you want me to put you down now? " Izuku asked as he looked back at me and I shook my head.
" No, I like being carried by you. You're really warm " I smirked and the poor boy's face overheated with embarrassment.
" Oo~ are you sure you two aren't a Thing? " Uraraka Teased giving me and Izuku a suggestive wink.
" So you're dumping Bakugou for Midoriya or something? " Kaminari crackled with laughter and the whole room fell into a cold silence.
As if everyone knew something I should be aware of.
" Me and Bakugou aren't Dating in the first place, I don't think we'll ever be together too " I confidently stated and I could hear gasps and the shock faces of my classmates didn't go unnoticed.
" S-She called him Bakugou and Not Katsuki! " Mineta Yelled in panic as he stared at me with wide eyes.
Suddenly a loud bang was heard from one of the tables. Specifically the Table Bakugou was on.
He had slammed his hand on the table along with his chopsticks and he was seething with so much anger and... Are my eyes lying? Is that jealousy!?.
" I ain't fucking hungry! " He yelled and stood up violently that the chair fell off.
He started stomping his way towards us. I was never afraid of Him.... Well not until Now atleast.
" Deku " He growled lowly and I could feel Izuku tremble.
Immediately, I got down from his back and when Katsuki was close enough I stepped infront of Izuku.
" Stay Back Bitch! " He hissed and I stood my ground.
" No you Stay back Asshole! What is your problem!? Why don't you mind your own fucking Business! " I snapped harshly poked his Chest with each word I uttered.
He glared at me tiny sparks popping on his palms.
What he said next was something I have never expected him to say.
" You are My goddamn Business You Little Shit! Hanging around with Deku the whole Night making me worry about your shitty ass! And now you're clinging onto him like a stupid fucking Koala! Can't you see how jealous I am!? Can't you drill it in your pretty little head that you're Fucking Mine! " His voice rang through every corner of the common room.
Everyone was silent for a few seconds. My eyes were wide and full of disbelief.
" Finally, Took Him a long time to actually confess... It was kinda getting painful to watch " Kaminari mumbled but it was loud enough for me to hear.
" Dude, it was so manly confessing to her infront of everyone. Bakugou is a true man " Came another comment from one of my classmates, Kirishima.
Katsuki was glaring at me his Chest rising and falling at a visible way clearly indicating how aggravated he was.
His crimson eyes held a lot of swirling emotions, Jealousy, Anger, Betrayal and Possessiveness.
" ..... Excuse you!? " I managed to voice out and he tried grabbing me but I was quick to evade his hand.
" No! And Just when I finally decided to give up on you. You decide to throw all this bullshit infront of me Bakugou Fucking Katsuki! No you listen here you Egotistical Haughty Son of a Bitch! I suffered through every shitty insult and pain you threw my way because I loved you and when I'm at my limit and ready to go you give me this!? all you gave me was pain and honestly I'm not a masochistic bitch to accept it with open arms how but my middle finger huh?!. Damn you and your very confusing and petty way of claiming me! That is not happening! You hear me!? So suck it up Bakuhoe and Go Fuck yourself " I actually felt proud of myself but that was the first time I actually raised my voice or even cursed infront of everyone in the first place so their dumbfounded expression didn't really surprised me.
" Wow.... Your girl's as good at Cursing as you are Bakugou " Sero was the first to comment and that pissed me off.
" I'm not his 'Girl' " I emphasized the girl part with a hint of mockery.
" Yet " Bakugou added making me glare at him.
" Fuck you " I grumbled turning around to walk away in victory thinking I had won the fight.
But before I could even take one step forward I was slung over Bakugou's Shoulder hanging upside down.
" Put me down you Fucking Asshole! " I yelled as he carried me away from the common room.
" Hey! " I grab hold of his blonde hair which was surprisingly soft and gave it a harsh tug which earned me a groan from him.
" Bitch! " He yelled slapping my butt making me gasp.
" I should get you mad more often, That was hot " He commented as if he hadn't just slapped my butt.
The nerve of this fucker.
" Put me down!" I growled as he proceeded to carry me upstairs.
" Now don't think I'm done with you just yet. I have to get my sweet revenge because you hung out with Fucking Deku and let him touch you! " He barked as I felt him tighten his hold on my fleshy thigh.
I tried everything I could, from squirming to kicking to punching his back but the guy is a Fucking wall and didn't even budge.
" Stop it Bitch! Save your energy for later. You're gonna need it " He muttered making me react violently. Until he had enough of it and slammed my back to the nearest wall with his strong muscular arms trapping me I'm between with his body a bit too close to mine.
His face was inches away and I visibly gulped turning my face to the side as his breathe fanned my cheek.
" Bakugou I'm warning you. I'm gonna do something YOU'RE gonna regret if you don't let me go " I had managed to say without stuttering and I mentally Pat myself on the back for my strong tone.
" Fuck it y/n. You really think I'd let you get away after Saying all that shit and defending Deku!? After you hopped onto his back like you're HIS!? Well you're Fucking Mine! You got that!? " He yelled making me groan. His voice was too loud and I think my ears are gonna bleed.
" You asked for it! " I yelled back as I prepared to kick him where the sun don't shine but I didn't even get to raise my leg halfway when he pulled me down by my leg and pressed his body against mine even more.
Right now I had no way of moving with my leg trapped against his thighs holding me in place.
" Oh? Was that your Great Fucking Move? Well it's pretty pathetic so kick and scream all you want. I'm claiming you right now " Using his hand he raked my locks down and gripped onto my hair roughly forcing me to face him and his lips had already connected with mine.
His kiss was rough, dominating with a tinge of passion and jealousy. Moving his lips at a better angle his other hand trailed down to squeeze my hips.
I ressisted. I really did but after awhile of him kissing me I melted. My hands wrapping themselves around his neck my chest squeezed with his toned chest. Both of his hands resting on my waist as I stood on my tippy toes kissing him back with the same intensity.
Opening my mouth to give him access he didn't waste a second to slip his tongue inside my claiming his new domain. His tongue wrestled with my own and soon gaining dominance as he continued the rough kiss.
It was a very angry kiss with lots of jealousy coming from him.
When we finally pulled away breathless and panting his intense crimson orbs pierced mine a smug smirk slowly rigging on the corners of his mouth.
" Still refusing me after that? After you willingly kissed me back? After clinging onto me for dear life? " He was either mocking me or teasing me but either way it pissed me off.
" Katsuki I'm gonna rip your throat off if you keep that up " I glared at him but I guess actions spoke louder than words because my neck was still wrapped around his neck and my body still pressed against his.
" Yeah right and a moment ago you called me Bakugou now look who's calling me Katsuki again " He sneered and I tried retreating my hand away from his neck to push him away but he beat me to it; grabbing my arms and using it as leverage to pull me closer towards him.
" I know I did some pretty fucked up shit. I'm not the best person at expressing these shitty feelings I have for you but I will make it up to you, I'm s-soow.... S-sooo.... Rrr... Eeyyyy " The way he forced out a ' I'm sorry ' got me laughing so hard .
He didn't appreciate that because his cheeks were tinted red form embarrassment and anger.
" You Fucking bitch! Don't laugh at me! I'm trying! " He yelled as I continued laughing.
Yeah, seeing him like that was new and hilarious.
My laughter was cut off when I felt his warm lips press a kiss on my cheek.
He looked to his side his eyes avoiding mine.
" Don't Fucking laugh cause I mean it though.... I'll make it up to you.... " He muttered the faint red color of his cheeks still present.
A smile formed on my lips as I stared at him fondly. A small pinkish tint coating my own cheeks but me being me I ruined the moment with a bitchy remark.
" Yeah why don't you practice saying Sorry first while not sounding like you were about to take the biggest shit of your life " I retorted and because of that I began laughing once again and he was raging. Screaming at me to stop laughing but I couldn't help it. He did deserve it after all.
I'm pretty sure I'll get more of my little revenge in the future....

Bonus :
" Deku.... I know you care about those two and You're a hardcore shipper but... What you did though... Was it on purpose? " Uraraka asked taking another bite of her pancakes as they listened to the two bicker.
" Who knows " Izuku answered with a contented smile on his face.
" Huh... You're a bit suicidal for doing that but I respect you man. Bakugou finally confessed it was getting pretty sad to watch him act all tough and pretending he doesn't like her " Sero chuckled.
" Hopefully those two will stay strong from now on... " Momo took a sip of her tea and everyone silently agreed with her.
" So.... Do you think they're Fucking? " Mineta suddenly brought up the topic which caused Tsu to slap him with her Tongue.
" Mineta-kun you're being a pervert again" Tsu muttered staring at the purple headed boy.
" Hahahahha! " Denki and Mina suddenly came down stairs holding a camera.
" You guys wanna see what they were doing upstairs? " Denki asked while laughing.
" Dude, invading other people's privacy is Not manly " Kirishima stated bit he couldn't help but be curious.
" .... What happened though? " Kirishima asked taking a peek at the camera.
" Oh you know, They kissed and Bakugou tried saying sorry but it was an epic fail! " Mina laughed and on cue Y/n came running down with an in raged Bakugou trailing hot on her tail.
" Come Back here! " Bakugou barked trying to grab hold of the girl.
" I was being honest when I said you need practice in saying sorry! You look like you're about to shit Bricks! " She yelled merely avoiding the hand of Bakugou that was centimeters away from holding her.
" Drama and Breakfast in the morning sure is pretty Good. But Drama, Breakfast and Comedy in the Morning is The best! " Denki chuckled watching the two interact.
" Oh boy... I have a feeling everything is going to be a lot more louder here than usual " Izuku sighed .

》Synopsis: You, one of Nekoma’s cheerleaders, made a bet with the captain of the Nekoma Volleyball team, that they’re going to lose to Aoba Jouhsai in the upcoming match. And- you’re failing chemistry.《
Tumblr media
"Sensei, please don't do this." You begged. "I really want to go!"
Your teacher's eyes wandered on your pleading face, and she sighed.
"I don't get any say in this. You're failing chemistry, and if you don't pass this make-up exam, I can't let you go to the match."
You knew her answer was final, so you sighed, trying not to cry. This was supposed to be your first match, and you couldn't even go! "At least let me attend the training? Just so that if a miracle happens, I'll be ready?"
She shrugged. "If you think you can pass the exam and attend training, why not? I don't really care what you do, to be honest, as long as you pass."
Yeah, that's not happening, you thought but held your tongue.
"Oh, come on, don't look so grim. You're a smart girl, I'm sure you'll do it."
Though it did feel nice having her believe in you, you just couldn't be as positive as she was, but you managed to fake a smile. "Yeah, I'm sure it'll be okay. I still have to go back before I'm too late, though." This was the first time you were going to train in your cheerleading outfit, and you were too excited to see it on yourself.
She sent you a sympathetic look as she ruffled your hair slightly and went her way. You sighed. Chemistry was something you just weren't able to comprehend. Regardless of how much you studied that damn subject, you could swear you just got worse.
You quickly changed into the bright red two-piece outfit, it had black stripes on the sides and a big NEKOMA right on your chest. The black and red skirt was a little too short for your liking, but who were you to complain? You were just happy you even got to wear it.
"You're late." The captain told you as she saw you entering the gym. The rest of the team was already in their places, practicing, but stopped when they too noticed you.
"I'm sorry, I was with sensei." You apologized with a smile. "What did she say?" She asked, her large, green-blue eyes looking at you curiously. She was the same age as you, though she had a way of making you feel... smaller next to her.
"I- uh..." You looked at the girls that stared back at you with slightly narrowed eyes, making you feel a bit self-conscious. "I- I'm failing chemistry, so I have to take the exam next week. She told me I can't go to the match if I fail."
You thought the topic would be over, but apparently not. "And?" She asked, confusing you with the question. "And?" You repeated.
"Are you going to fail?" She questioned, looking at you like it was the most obvious thing in the world. "I hope not." You faked a giggle, feeling uncomfortable under the gaze of the girls, judging you.
"You should tell us if you're going to fail, you know. So that we can add you to the choreograpyh."
"O-oh, don't worry." I'm sure I'll do fine." Oh, you were anything but sure, though you figured it was better if you didn't tell her that.
"Good. Then get to your position. You have the choreography memorized, right? Last time you were a bit... sloppy." You tried to ignore one of the girls giggling. "Yeah, I know it all by now."
Finally, she smiled. You weren't sure if the smile was genuine or not, but just seeing her smile made you feel relaxed. "That's really nice, Y/N-chan!" She clapped her hands to gain attention. "Now, let's start before the volleyball team comes."
Everybody knew that was the opposite of what she actually wanted since her crush on the volleyball team's captain was now more than known, but you chose not to call her out. You knew she wasn't a fan of you already, so it was better to keep your mouth shut, you decided.
You didn't know why, but the girls seemed to have something against you since they always did their best to exclude you from things, though you tried not to think much about it.
When the captain started to count, you stopped thinking and danced along instead.
***
"Aah- that was tiring. She's too ruthless sometimes!" A girl from your team exclaimed as she sipped on her water, eyeing the pretty captain. The captain was known to be one of the prettiest girls in school and was frequently asked out by guys, though most were aware she only had eyes for one man. It had been a big surprise to everyone when Kuroo had rejected her, though.
Almost every girl in school had a crush on Kuroo, thinking of him as this cool, cold guy that had rejected even the prettiest girl in school, but in reality, he was just too busy with volleyball and his lessons. To be fair, you wouldn't have known he was a huge dork either if you weren't in the same class with him and had this weird friendship/arch enemy thing going on, either.
You weren't exactly friends with him, though. More like bickering constantly, but also having weird inside jokes. You were close but also...not friends. Maybe that was why the girls didn't like you, since you always argued with the guy they wanted to date. But it wasn't your fault he was too much fun to tease!
Teasing Kuroo was something you couldn't stop yourself from doing, and you weren't the only one that liked to make fun of the other, since Kuroo always managed to pick a fight with you, too. It wasn't genuine arguments, more like challenges, dares and bets, -you joining the cheering team was a dare you had with Kuroo, too- and because of the constant challenges you had with their captain, the volleyball team loved you, too.
"I think they're coming!" A girl whisper-yelled, causing everyone's eyes to turn to the door. She was right since the loud laughs, footsteps, and jokes were hard to miss as they approached the gym door.
Kuroo was the first to enter, his hair as messy as ever, one of his arms was on Kenma's head, just showing how much longer he was than him.
You watched as Kenma's eyes averted to the big group of girls watching them, his eyes widening with anxiety as he turned his gaze immediately to the ground, causing his hair to fall in his face and hide him.
"Oh, hey Kuroo-Kun!" The captain exclaimed with a bright smile as she went towards them, hopping like a bunny.
"Hey." He greeted her back, the sleazy smile on his face causing your heartbeat to double, even though you didn't want to admit. "I thought you said you were going to be done with training by four." You knew Kuroo didn't mean it negatively, though the captain looked like she was panicking, looking around frantically to find a good excuse.
"Ah, w-we have a newbie, you see. We kinda had to move slower for her to catch up." She finally answered as her eyes found yours, though instantly turned back to Kuroo's cat-like ones.
You grimaced at the sudden attack, trying to stop yourself before you blurted out that she was lying. You understood why she would do so, but you hated it when people used you in their lies. "Oh, a newcomer," Kuroo muttered, his eyes wandering in the room lazily, as he tried to find your figure. Of course, Kuroo knew you were new in the team, he was the one who challenged you in the first place, but the cheerleading team didn't know that, and neither of you had the intention to tell them.
"She just came, so she's still pretty slow." The captain continued with a small giggle, her words making your heart sink. It was true, you were new, but you had been practicing the last few weeks, and you had almost caught up with the rest, so it wasn't fair of her to say so.
Though Kuroo seemed to pay her no mind, instead, he walked towards you with a grin on his face. "New meat!" He joked -it was really bad, though you managed to force a laugh out- and the captain followed him, now both standing next to you and watching your every move like animals watching its prey.
Kuroo seemed like he wanted to chat with you, though before he could do so, the captain sighed. "Though we're not sure if she's even going to be able to come to the match."
Your eyes narrowed, but you chose to stay silent.
"Why is that?" Kuroo asked, confusion evident on his face with the sudden and unwanted information. "Oh, she's failing chemistry, so sensei didn't let her come to the match."
"If I fail the exam, I won't be able to come." You added when she talked about it like you had already failed. "Oh, yeah! That's what I said." She told you with an innocent smile.
You would have said something, but before you could do so, you heard the familiar sound of a volleyball hitting the ground. The captain's eyes gazed at Lev, who had just done a spike and was screaming victoriously. "Guess that means our time is over." She giggled like what she said was funny.
"The practice is over girls, go get some rest!" She ignored the grunts of relief coming from your team and turned back to Kuroo. "You know, it was nice seeing you. Don't you think we should do this more often?"
You really didn't want to hear them flirting, so you went to change your clothes without saying anything to them.
***
You were the last one to finish changing and stepped out of the room as you tried to detangle your headphones. You were so concentrated on doing so, that you didn't even see the boy leaning to the wall, watching you.
"Hey," he muttered, making you shriek in surprise. The way your widened eyes looked at him, he couldn't help but giggle.
"What the fuck, Kuroo!" You exclaimed, trying to get the shock wash away as you breathed deeply. "Hey, I'm the 6'2 (187 cm for people like me hehe) one here, how should I know you're dumb enough not to see me?"
"How should I know you would creep up on me like that?" You shot back, and although you knew it was kind of your fault, you weren't going to admit that to him.
He looked at you with a fake I'm offended look. "First of all, I didn't creep up on you."
"Then what are you doing here?" You asked, though your voice was a little softer this time. He hadn't actually waited for you, did he? No, he wouldn't do that, unless...unless he wanted to tease you about the chemistry thing.
You sighed as you finally understood why he was here, looking at you with that lazy smile and taking your breath away in the process. "Ah, look if you're here about me failing chemistry, please shut it." You told him as you rolled your eyes. "The captain already had a lot to say about it." You murmured, your words not really intended for him to hear.
"Well," his hand went to the back of his neck, blush dusting his cheeks ever so slightly, his odd hair falling to his face, making you wonder what would it feel like if you were to run your finger through them. Would it be soft? Spiky? Or maybe-
"I was actually going to tell you I could... uh... help you with that, ya know." The lazy smile now resembling a little boy's grin, you would have thought he was embarrassed if you didn't know better.
Your narrowed eyes found his, trying to understand the motive behind his words. " What do you mean, help me with that?"
He giggled at your question. He had an expression on his face, one you were so used to see, though couldn't yet understand what it meant. It kind of looked like he wanted to ruffle your hair and pinch your cheeks, but not quite. "Help you with chemistry, how else?"
You bit your lip, trying to find out what he was up to. "And what are you getting out of it?" You finally asked as you gave up trying to understand him.
"I’m a good person too, you know." He told you with a huff, he still had his teasing manner, though. "Can’t I be doing this out of my goodness?" If it were anyone else saying this, you might have believed them, but not with Kuroo. Sure, you joked around and teased each other, but your whole friendship -if you could call it that- was based on challenges, bets, deception, and who would trick who.
"No way I'll believe that. I'm not dumb, you know." You murmured the last bit since it kind of bothered you since it seemed like everybody thought so.
"Though you're failing chem, arent you?" He teased, causing you to send him a glare. "I-"
You were ready and steady to fight with him over that comment, but he only giggled and put his hand on your shoulder as if he was trying to steady or calm you. His hand was unconventionally warm, fingers calloused and hard, though it didn't bother you the slightest bit. It was rather scary how much you enjoyed his touch.
"I'm kidding, I'm kidding." He told you, laughing as he shook his head side to side. "You're too easy to rile up, ya know? I'm offering to help since it's me who challenged you to join the cheering team, so you might kind of say it's my fault at this point."
When you kept looking at him, he furrowed his brows. "I'm telling you I'm just feeling guilty! It's nothing too complicated." He looked rather hurt at how suspicious you looked.
"And?" You pressed on, knowing too damn well it wasn't only his conscious that led him to reach a helping hand at you. There had to be something else.
He sighed finally, obviously giving up. "And- I kinda wanna see you cheering for me." He grinned. "Call it 'satisfacting my ego'." He only grinned wider when you shot him a disgusted look.
"I knew there was something else." You just muttered.
"Eh," He shrugged. "I'm gonna need every boost I can have if I'm going to play against Oikawa." He said it so casually, you couldn't perceive what he said for a second or so.
"You're- you're playing against Aoba Jousai?" You blurted out, mouth agape. You hadn't even realized till now that you didn't even know who they were playing against. Clearly, he was thinking the same thing.
"You didn’t even know? And you're supposed to be our cheerleader." He clicked his mouth in a disapproving manner and shook his head side to side.
You ignored his remark. "There is no way you can win against him, you know."
He snickered at your blunt response. "I see you've become especially good at cheering and motivating."
You grinned. "Shoot me for telling the truth. It's Oikawa we're talking about."
"And? What about him?"
"He's one of the hottest and most talented men around, and you know it." You told him as you watched his grin fade to annoyance. "He's not hot!"
"No need to get all jealous, Kuroo." You giggled when he grimaced. "Me? Jealous of that- that... guy?!"
You shrugged just to piss him off.
"Well then, what will you do when we beat your oh-so-great Oikawa?" His playful grin was back, now wider than ever, and it pissed you off, how good he looked.
"Is that a bet?"
"Of course it is." He answered, like it was only normal.
"I'm not betting against my own team!" You exclaimed, feeling your cheeks heating up a bit. How did teasing him come to this, anyway?!
"What will you do?" He pressed on, and you were aware he wouldn't let it go until you bet with him, so you sighed as if you accepted defeat. "What do you want me to do?"
"Hmm," He tapped his chin as he considered the choices (he had been trying to make this bet with you for a week and had been planning how to get you to agree to it, it was surprisingly easy, though, since he was a mastermind at planning and stuff, even though he didn't show it much). His honey-colored eyes glistened when he decided what he wanted you to do. "You're gonna wear those cat ears for a week."
By those cat ears, he meant the ones that were a part of the cheering costume but were excluded since they were too hard to dance with. The first time you tried them on, Kuroo had laughed ten minutes straight and would've taken a photo if you hadn't ripped them off your head and threw them right in the middle of his face.
"Oh, it’s on." You shot back without thinking much about it. "Only if you wear them a week if you lose against them, too, though." You added with a smile that warmed his heart.
"Deal." He grinned.
You had no idea that he had been planning this for a long time, so what seemed like an innocent, fair bet was actually almost guaranteed you to lose. The penalty was the first thing he had thought about the bet, the rest came later to him, so he was literally planning how to get you to wear those cat ears for... a month. Not that you needed to know about that, though.
"Deal." You smiled.
***
You watched as Kuroo jumped, so high, that it made you wonder if he could secretly fly. His hand up in the air, coming down so fast to spike the ball. A grin was on his face, knowing damn well what you were probably thinking, as you watched him.
He smacked the ball with so much force, you gasped. You always knew he was strong, and he was fast -he was the Nekoma team captain, after all- but you never knew he was... this good.
When he landed back on his feet, looking at your flustered face was the first thing he did. Your mouth still slightly agape as you watched the ball that was now on the other side of the court, Kuroo thought it was one of the cutest things he saw.
"So," he asked with a cocky grin, "Still think Oikawa is better than me?"
You stood silent for a few seconds and then looked at his golden eyes. "Are you kidding me?!" You exclaimed, and just when he thought he was finally going to see you admitting he was, in fact, better than that Oikawa guy, you chuckled. "Oikawa could murder you, Kuroo. Don't get too full of yourself."
"What?" He asked in a rather cold voice that sent chills down your spine, though knowing it was just Kuroo, you ignored the threatening tone. "Don't try to intimidate me with that look, you asked the question, so you should be prepared for the answer, too."
"Did you- did you not see my spike just then? It was amazing!" You shrugged like it wasn't a big deal, knowing he was fuming inside. He was going to keep on arguing, if it wasn't for Lev, who was cheerfully calling out for you.
''Y/N-san, could you throw me some balls, too?" He told you when he came next to you in two long strides.
"Sure-" You answered, but Kuroo interrupted. "No."
It was the threatening, cold voice he used that always managed to frighten Lev, just a little bit. "But Kuroo-san! She's been throwing you balls the last hour!" He whined, making you giggle. "He's right, you know. It's only fair if I help him, too." You told Kuroo, desperately trying not to laugh when you saw him pouting.
"No! He can work with Kenma, I'm the one that's helping you with chemistry, aren't? So you should help me with this." He told you, his hand pulling you away from Lev and closer to himself.
"You're the one who suggested helping me! And you forced me to throw you balls, too."
You shook your head side to side when Kuroo ignored you. "Lev, you either go practice spikes with Kenma right now, or you're running laps the rest of the practice."
You saw Lev's eyes widening as he hurriedly walked towards Kenma, though muttering to himself, "This is no fair. He gets to practice with the pretty girl!"
Kuroo took another ball from the basket and gave it to you, though he was still pouting. "I can't believe you were really going to choose him over me. You should be happy you're getting to practice with me. But no, it's always someone else, isn't it?" He mumbled under his breath as you bit your lips to try and not laugh. You knew he was only joking, he always was.
You sent the ball to the air, just a bit over his head as he jumped and hit the ball, harder than the last time, and with the sound of his hand hitting the ball, you also heard a pained grunt coming from him.
He sat on the floor, clutching his hand to his chest, and you felt your heart beating rapidly in your chest at the sight. "K-Kuroo, what happened? Are you okay? We should go to the infirmary!"
You tried to get him to stand on his feet, but he shook his head side to side, rather pulling you to sit down next to him. "I'm okay," he told you with a small smile. "It came straight down on my finger, so it hurts a little, but it happens more than you would believe. I should just bandage it, putting some ice on it would help, too."
Hearing it wasn't a big deal did have its effect on your crazy heartbeat, slowing it a bit, but you were still worried more than you would like to accept. You stood up, quickly gathering some bandages and ice, and walked back to him.
As you took his hand and analyzed the finger, you noticed it was only a bit red and that he was right, it wasn't a big deal, but you were still mad at him. "What the fuck, Kuroo?!" You muttered angrily as you pressed the ice on his hand, he hissed with the sudden contact.
"I didn't do it on purpose!" He shot back.
"You have to be more careful! What if something else had happened? What if it wasn't just okay with ice and bandages?! The school and your team need you, you know they do!"
You sighed when he stayed silent. "I thought you wanted to beat Oikawa, and you can't do it injured. You want to wear those cat ears, I presume?" You joked, and he smiled.
"So you think I can beat him if I'm not injured, huh? I think it's you who wants to wear the cat ears."
You noticed your mistake, your cheeks burning slightly, but chose not to answer him since you knew he would just tease you further if you did. "Here you go, it's all better." You told him when you were done with bandaging.
"Aren't you gonna kiss it better?" He asked with a teasing grin, and you rolled your eyes. "In your dreams, you big baby."
"But it still hurts, Y/N! It can't get better if you don't kiss it! The team needs me, you said it yourself!"
"Kuroo," you groaned, but he just pointed at his cheek. "Come on, no need to be shy." That jerk and his stupidly good looking grin. You weren't really sure why, but you leaned in, your face getting closer to his cheek. You only noticed what you were actually doing when you were so close to him that you could smell the light scent of smell mixed with his natural, woody scent.
"You stink." You lied.
"But you were about to kiss it better!" He whined as you stood up, and internally screamed at yourself for actually considering kissing him. "Shut up, I'm tired. Just text me when you're done with the practice." You told him as you walked to the exit, you needed the fresh breath of air.
***
"I deem you beyond hope. These are the basics of chemistry. How -the fuck- are you so bad at them?"
"I don't know!" You groaned for the millionth time. "I just can't do it, okay?" He rolled his eyes when you pouted. Maybe you were acting a tad too childish, but no one liked to be reminded of how dumb they were, especially not from a guy as hot as him.
"Okay, okay." He finally said when you kept pouting. "Let's take a break." He didn't miss your cute smile when you heard the word 'break'.
"How are you so bad at it, anyway? You're not as bad in the other subjects..." He then realized he had no idea how your other subjects were. "Right?" He asked, this time a little less confident.
"No." You told him with a glare. "It's something between me and chemistry, we just don't get along." You sighed, and without thinking much about it, you added, "chem is a mystery to me." Not expecting his eyes to widen and gasp at your small word game, you quirked your brow. "What?"
"Did you- did you just do a joke?!" He looked so genuinely shocked, you pouted.
"I am capable of joking!" You answered his accusation, noticing his grin. "Huh," he mumbled, "Since you never laugh at mine, I thought you just didn't understand them."
"I'll strangle you, Kuroo." You answered though you were smiling. "You were about to kiss me an hour ago, what's with the attitude?" He teased, and he thought it was the best thing, how horrified you looked at the accusation.
"I- I didn't- I wasn't going to-" As you choked on your words, he was having the time of his life. You faked a cough to try and hide how flustered you were, a pathetic attempt, really.
"Huh? You weren't going to kiss me? Is that what you're saying? Are you a liar, too, Y/N-chan?"
"Kuroo, shut the fuck up." You mumbled when you finally found it in yourself to form words. "How rude, princess." He giggled, dropping the topic and not even realizing the effect the pet name had on you.
"Don't call me that, jackass." You tried to be as rude as you could to hide the soft part of you showing, but he noticed, he always did.
"What, princess?"
When you didn't answer him, he grinned and leaned a little closer to you. "Is it making you excited, princess?"
"No way!" You blurted out. "Why should I get excited over you? It's just- weird." You answered, and he didn't press it on, though you could still feel his mocking eyes on you, grinning like the Cheshire cat.

"Hey!" You called out when you saw one small and one abnormally tall silhouette. "Kenma, Lev, could you guys help me out a bit?" You had two large boxes on your hands, hiding your face from them, but they instantly knew who you were.
"What are you doing?" Lev asked as he took the larger box from you, Kenma was holding one of the small boxes you had left behind to get on a second trip.
"Oh, it's the cheerleading equipment, they asked me if I could take them."
"All of them?" Kenma asked, a brow quirking questioningly. "Yeah, you know, being new and stuff I guess." You told with a little giggle.
"Yeah, no." Kenma told you with a monotone voice. "It's not being new and stuff, and don't think we missed how they're acting towards you." He looked at Lev. "Even he noticed it."
"Hey, what does that mean?!"
"They're not the kindest people around, that I admit." You answered. "But it's not unbearable, so..." You sent him a cheeky grin.
Kenma shrugged. "Whatever you say, just know what they're doing is not normal, and it's probably just gonna get worse."
You knew he was right, but the topic made you uncomfortable, so you just shrugged.
***
Hanging out with Kuroo was fun, you had to admit. Even though you were just studying, it was too much fun.
"How are you feeling? Are you stressed? Do you think you're ready? Do you think you'll pass? Oh my god, why am I so stressed?!" Kuroo blabbered on as he shook you by your shoulders with every word. "I'm okay, Kuroo. I'm feeling pretty good, actually, I think I'm ready."
He looked at you with worried eyes, though they looked a bit more relieved than they were just then.
"Okay, then. Go break a leg? Is that what you're supposed to say in situations like this?" Oh, shoot. Did he have to look so damn cute, worrying over you?
You chuckled as you shrugged, ignoring the warm feeling spreading through your body. "I'm not sure. You knew you didn't have to come all the way here, though, right?" He had insisted that he was going to drop you to the exam, and wait until you came back. He said he might even buy you a slice of cheesecake after if it went well, and who were you to say no?
"I wanted to come." He looked at his phone screen to check the hour. "Okay, you have to go now, but I'll be right here."
You weren't sure why, but that sentence filled you with a confidence you never knew you had. You felt like... you felt like if he was right here, supporting you, you could even overcome your greatest enemy, chemistry.
"Y-yeah, okay." You mumbled, turning around to go to school, but stopped when he suddenly shouted, "Wait!" You turned around, worried there was something you forgot -there was always something you forgot- but your worries died when you saw him grinning.
"Aren't you gonna ask for a good lucks kiss?"
"Oh my god, Kuroo." You rolled your eyes, once again turning to go, but this time he didn't let you walk away, not without a hug. "Well then, here's a good luck hug instead." As you felt his long arms around your body, you froze in your place, forgetting to even breathe.
He was warm, not a disturbing warm, though, the kind that caused you to smile, that made you feel safe, that made you think if he kept his arms around you, nothing bad could happen. So instead of pulling back, you wrapped your arms around him too, closing your eyes with the feeling and not even realizing that you were nuzzling your face in his neck.
You didn't notice the relieved smile that was on his face when you hugged him back, since he was half-sure you were going to push him away, he closed his eyes too and wrapped you even tighter, trying to etch this feeling in his mind so he could remember forever.
You could feel his face touching your hair, your bodies pressed together, you wondered if he could hear how hard your heart was beating. When he pulled back after a while, you felt a bit disappointed that it ended but hid that expression nonetheless. Now you couldn't stop thinking just how good he smelled and felt.
"Uh, thanks for that, I guess." You told him with an awkward giggle. "Sure thing, all you gotta do is ask, princess." He told you with a wink, causing you to roll your eyes and walk away.
***
Kuroo was a man of his word, so he waited two hours on exactly where you both had hugged each other.
When he realized he could still feel your lingering scent when the wind blew slightly and smiled, Kuroo knew he was in deep. He had never meant for it to go this way, he liked this weird thing you both had, constant teasing and challenging each other. He had no idea when he had caught feelings, but Kuroo wasn't a simple man, he knew that when he had feelings towards someone, it was too damn hard for him to let go.
He couldn't stop thinking about the hug that had passed just then, how you felt between his arms, how amazing you smelled, how good of a fit you two were.
So when he saw you exiting the school, he couldn't (didn't) suppress the smile that was forming on his face, and it only grew wider when you smiled back.
"How was it?" He asked when you came towards him. "It was gre-" Before you could finish your sentence, you found yourself pulled into a tight hug once again, though this time you didn't fight it one second.
"That's very nice to hear." He muttered into your hair, and you giggled. "I remember a promise about a cheesecake." You told him with a cheeky smile when his arms let go of your figure, that looked tiny next to him.
"Huh, cheesecake? Nope, can't think of anything related to that."
"Kuroo!" You whined.
"What? I don't even like cheesecake! How could I have known your exam was going to be okay when you suck this bad at chemistry?" He protested.
He still took you to eat cheesecake, and not only one slice, but as much as you'd liked.
"So, you're gonna cheer for me, huh?" He told you as he watched you chew on the giant piece of cake you had just gotten in your mouth. You could swear he was only asking questions when you were chewing, cause it was a little too often his questions had caught you munching on food, at this point.
You glared at him as he shot you an innocent look, he grinned like a mad man the whole time you tried to swallow your bite. "I don't know, I haven't decided yet." You finally answered.
"You can't tell me you're going to cheer for that Oikawa guy." He huffed, though you knew he was damn serious at his question. "No, I'm going to cheer for Lev." You shot back, and he groaned.
"You're forgetting that I'm paying for all these." He grinned, causing you to choke on the bite you just took. He laughed and passed you the water, watching you drink it down.
"Yeah, you're right." You told him with a cheeky grin.
***
"Oh, shit, I'm so fucking stressed, I'm going to die." Yaku mumbled. "You don't have to be stressed, Yaku-san! You practiced so much, I know you're going to win!" Your captain cheered excitedly. (you forgot about her, didn't you, haha)
Huh, you thought. Maybe Kuroo was right about you sucking at giving motivation.
"Thanks." Yaku mumbled with an awkward smile, trying to escape from her overly cheerful manner.
"Kuroo-san, how are you feeling?" She asked as she walked towards him, making the girls in your team giggle with anticipation. "I'm okay, thanks." He mumbled, his eyes searching through the crowd, stopping when they found you. Without even noticing that the cheerleader captain was talking to him, he walked towards you with a mocking grin on his face.
"I need to get my good luck kiss before I go on the court, you know. And this time, I'm not settling for a hug." It might have been something you could laugh at, if you weren't in public and both of your teams weren't looking at you, mouths agape, eyes widened with shock.
You could hear Kenma face-palming himself.
"Sh-shut it, Kuroo! It's not the time for teasing." You told him, feeling your cheeks heating up.
"Come on, just one kiss." He continued as he leaned in, caging you and leaving you breathless. You knew he was joking, but no one else did, and sometimes, you weren't so sure either, especially when he looked at you like that.
So you did the best thing you could.
You ran away.
Not bothering to look back or answer his questions, you ran until you couldn't see him. You had no idea how you were going to explain this to your team, especially to the captain. She didn't like you already, and this was probably just going to make everything worse.
So you stayed there until you heard Nekoma being called out on the court, leaving the room half-heartedly, scared of what you were going to face.
You could feel the lingering eyes on you, hear the whispers following you, and you did your best to ignore them, but you knew you could break down crying any second now. When you saw the captain glaring at you, you bit your lip, trying to focus on the dance.
You could feel the boys looking at you to see if you were okay or not, trying to get you to look at them too, but you refused to do so since you were a little scared of what you would see.
Though the whispers and glares toned down and died when the game started since the game took all your attention. You watched as Kenma passed the ball to Lev, he jumped so high and hit the ball so hard, you gasped. The ball passed between Aoba Jouhsai and Nekoma, neither of them looking like they were going to accept losing.
You could see everyone giving their bests, even Kenma looked fired about the game, Lev blocking the ball like his life depended on it, Oikawa using tricks and strategies that just amazed you.
The game was breathtaking, every touch on the ball had you gasping, making you sit on the edge of your seat, turning your knuckles white.
The only times you could hear the whispers running after you were the times there were breaks, and the cheerleading team was dancing on the court.
Wasn't this supposed to be fun? It felt like torture, instead. You could feel your teammates nudging you with an elbow every once and then, causing you to lose your balance, snickering when you stumbled. At this point, you were just counting minutes till the game ended.
Kuroo must've noticed something was wrong since, at one point, he started to wave at you until you saw him, and when you looked at him, he sent you a thumbs up as if he was trying to ask if you were okay, not noticing he was the problem.
You just plastered a smile on your face and nodded your head, trying to make him go back to the game. He sent you a cheeky grin in response, now more determined to win more than ever.
The game went on, and it was finally the third and the last set. To give the team more of a boost, the cheerleading was going on on the side of the court.
You would've enjoyed this, you really would, if it weren't for the now rougher pushes you've been getting from the other girls. It was starting to hurt, you had to admit, and not only physically, too. No one liked being laughed at, especially when they had no one to help them get through this, and you were feeling more alone then you have ever felt before.
Though all your thoughts disappeared when you saw Kuroo jumping with all his might and hitting the ball Kenma had just sent him. The ball went straight down, without anyone on the other side of the net being able to receive it.
He had scored the match point. They won, you realized.
Your eyes wide, hands up in the air, shaking the black and red pompoms in your hand as you cheered with the rest of your team, beaming with happiness.
You suddenly noticed the cat-like eyes on you, and your eyes found him too. He was grinning widely, everyone around him screaming with victory, and it somehow felt like the time had stopped as you looked at each other. His arms were wide open as if he was inviting you for a hug, his lips were moving like he was trying to tell you something, and you focused your gaze on is lips, narrowing your eyes and leaning a bit closer-
You felt a sharp pain on the side of your body, leaving you breathless for a second or more, making your eyes water, and because you were leaning forward and your focus was fully somewhere else, you couldn't find your balance, falling forward.
You would've fallen right on your face if you hadn't put your hand on the ground in instinct, but now it was your hand and your ankle which had twisted badly when you fell, that had taken the blow. You looked up, just to find one of the girls looking at you with an uninterested pout, though you weren't sure who it was that had pushed you.
You could feel your eyes stinging with tears unshed, your ankle and wrist throbbing with pain, and it wasn't even the pain that caused you to tear up. You felt so self-conscious, falling in front of all these people, in front of him, you wanted to run away.
Trying to stand up, you gasped as you felt the pain in your ankle, just making the stinging in your eyes and the lump in your throat worse. You knew you would've fallen once again if it wasn't for the sudden support under your arms.
You couldn't recognize him for a second with the cold, almost scary look he had on his face, his eyes looking threateningly sharp as he helped you stand on your legs, walking you out of the gym.
Neither of you talked until you were finally alone in a room, and he had sat you on the bench. He sat right next to you, and the silence was unbearable, but you knew the second you attempted to talk, you would break down crying.
He somehow seemed to know that, so instead of trying to make you talk, you felt his hands wrapping you in a tight hug, and that was when you lost control over your emotions. You couldn't help the tears running down your face, wetting your cheeks, the sobs shaking your body between his arms, your arms hugging him even tighter as you replayed everything in your mind.
"I'm sorry," you managed to mumble between your sobs, "I'm so sorry, Kuroo." You didn't know why exactly you were apologizing, maybe it was because he had to be here with you instead of celebrating his victory, or maybe something else.
You stopped apologizing when you felt his hand touching your hair so softly, you almost couldn't feel it. "Shh," he whispered, "it's okay, no need to be sorry."
You nodded, you weren't even sure how long you stayed in that position, but you had already stopped crying when he talked again. "Are you feeling better now?"
You nodded, not even trying to pull back since it felt too good to be between his arms. His hand was still caressing your hair, though it was a little different this time since you felt something sliding between your hair, something that suspiciously felt like a headband with a pair of cat ears.
You tried to suppress your smile, but couldn't, so you just giggled. "You asshole." You mumbled and felt the laughter bubbling in his chest.
"I love you too, princess."
Epilogue:
You were sitting on the couch as Kuroo gathered the snacks. It was movie night, though as you surfed through the channels, you found something even more interesting.
"Baby, come quick! It's live from Oikawa's game." You told him as you watched the game a little too closely, Kuroo noticed. As an attempt to keep his girl, Kuroo sat right next to you on the couch, an arm wrapped around your shoulders. You could feel him pulling you closer and closer to himself every time you gasped or cheered for Oikawa until you were almost on top of him.
"Tetsu, are you jealous?" You finally asked, desperately trying to hold yourself from laughing at his pouting face.
"Jealous? Why would I be jealous?" You were going to say something, but he answered his own question. "Because my girlfriend is far more interested in a guy on tv than her boyfriend that's sitting right next to him?"
"I'm not interested in him!" You protested, trying to ignore the amazing spike Oikawa just did, but he noticed it. Pouting and looking away -though not attempting to get away from you whatsoever- he looked like a little boy.
"Ah, come on, you know you'll always be my number one." You told him with a giggle, and you knew when you pecked his cheek with a light kiss, he couldn’t stay mad at you.
"You know, you really hurt my feelings there." He muttered though he was grinning as he leaned his face closer to yours.
"Did I?" You asked with an equally cheeky grin, and he nodded, now even closer that you could feel the heat radiating from him.
"I kinda need you to kiss it better."
Kiss it better, you did.
