god it's so nice to be doing art again

#🔪.text #i know i keep saying this but #god.#it really really is #and i'm ENJOYING it #which i know i already rambled about that but #for a while art had become something that just felt like a chore #something i HAD to do #and a lot of times i would get frustrated #i'd spend forever on this one section and never feel satisfied #even when the art was good i would end up not liking it #not because i thought the art itself was bad #but because it didn't turn out the way i wanted it to or because it was so frustrating to do that i just couldn't enjoy the final product #i'm not feeling any of that now #i'm just feeling happiness and excitement #art is actually bringing me pleasure again. it's fun for me again #and tbh i'm feeling a little emotional about it #i am back to how my relationship with art used to be as a kid #it was Fun #i think i'm going to try to go to how i was back then and just draw whatever #not wait for some idea #just. hey i wanna draw this character. so i'm gonna draw them doing whatever #it doesn't matter. i'm just drawing them because i want to. there doesn't have to be any other purpose #i miss how often i used to draw and how i used to just draw random things #i want to go back to that.#because that is where i found joy in art #obviously i won't be drawing THAT much because of my wrists #but the point still stands that i want to draw more in general #i don't need to draw big pieces every time #i can just doodle them if i want to

honestly i have no idea how low stakes comes off as an archival read, in the order i've placed them in on toyhouse.

my writing style kinda involves thinking of different parts of the story at different times from all over the timeline, somewhat disjointedly - i really do wonder what it was like to follow my comics as i posted them, with all the various arcs totally out of order. is the author's train of thought the true way to read it? or will it simply be confusing as hell? probably the latter let's be real, unless you want to read what is basically a puzzle you have to place into the timeline yourself.

all i know is that i do have it all in my sketchbooks, i know what order i drew them in, and it would probably be wildly fascinating to see how my mind just kinda jumps all over the place. imagine if i posted them in real-time chronological order lmao. hah.

also like; whenever i do end up posting my whole comic in story-chronological order on separate webcomic blog, what happens to the stuff i will inevitably come up with and draw in the meantime? stuff that would neatly fit into the timeline? stuff that takes place in the past or future of what's already posted? i guess that stuff should have an additional tag huh

also man, why do all my text posts today end up so long hahaha

#wouldn't be much different to how the folks at twitter experienced it i guess #in real time anyway #except twitter is horrid for organization and it's not like i used any hashtag for this from the very beginning #so it's very hard to find there #so VERY FEW have kept up with the whole thing in my order of posting all of it #also: my oldest stuff have mostly either gotten replaced and retconned #or it's out of date #so there's not much point anyway #idk idk i'm just thinking out loud here #it was 2017 and #i accidentally started a webcomic with no planning and literally just figured out things as i went LMAO #who does that????#ME THAT'S WHO #and i'm enjoying it #i like working on different bits i'm thinking about #without having to wait #this whole world is a wip anyway #i just happen to make comics along the way and sometimes i get ideas while doing them #a big majority of them were rather spontaneous in the first place anyway #i say anyway too much #ANYWAY it's bedtime good night

(Customers asked for how-to videos, which the company doesn't have. The AI chatbot decided that a million internet users linking to this video after similar requests couldn't be wrong.)
