Welcome to my little fic rec event that I just made up! I have decided to put together a month of fics that I really loved and share them with you - one per day!

Each day of the week is themed, and you can see what kind of a story is coming from the calendar below. I'll keep this post updated with links to each rec post as they come out, so if you miss one you can always check back here.

The posts will go out at 8am NZDT/11am PST/2pm EST/8pm CET which means that for most of you I am posting from the future! Don't worry about it, you'll catch up!

Time Travel

Oh Boy Am I A Sucker For Time Travel Stories!!!!! It's so bad I actually had to draw the line and disqualify Time Loop stories from consideration or else you'd have gotten a Month Of Time Travel! I'll do the loops next time.

Voldemort Wins AU

I really like these, they're always so fascinating with how they portray 'victory' for the Death Eaters (spoilers - it always sucks So So Bad). Most of these are pretty Dark so heed the tags.

Snape! But a woman! That's it. That's the category. These particular fics I'm recommending are classic gender-bends, not Trans Snapes, just FYI.

Marriage Law

Probably only second to Time Travel in terms of Tags I Am On The Hunt For. I am a sucker for these. It's a bottle episode, but the bottle is a marriage! Love that!

I try to respond to every comment provided its not hate, I ignore hate. I want people to know that their comment is truly appreciated from the bottom of my heart. Comments are food for the writer's soul.

Probably either The Void (TOS Star Trek) or Forever (SPN) or most of my SPN Endverse fics.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Not too much, but it happens every so often. Why people can't just exit a fic or not interact with it if they don't like it is beyond me.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Sure do. Um, explicit and M/M but the specifics vary depending on pairing and fic. Been getting more detailed and more adventurous with it over the years though.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

Ohhhh boi have I ever written a crazy crossover XD

Convergence - where I brought many many fandoms (and even more ships) together in a story with an actual plot.

Its not my only crossover, but it's by far the craziest.

Not that I know of.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Not that I'm aware of, but I have been asked if some can be translated before, just never heard from them again.

In a way with @lizzy0305 who started Fragments ages ago and then I finished it because we both knew she wasn't going to finish it.

Theres a johnlock fic that could be the first wip i never go back to.

and an SPN and a Stanner fic that both could stay wips forever, but honestly it just takes one spark in my brain and the right mood and I could finish any of these, so never say never.

Not sure really. My fluff is extra tooth rotting? XD Also once I get used to a character their voice is easy to channel I suppose.

Feels like everything when you're trying to write a damn fic XD um, maybe not putting in enough details into a scene.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I often use Vulcan language in Star Trek fics, I think it adds to it. However I get that it can be annoying to not understand a piece of likely important dialogue cause its in another language. It doesn't bother me though.

Technically HP when I was teen, before I knew what fandom and fanfiction were. But when I was in the know it was Supernatural.

1) How many works do you have on AO3?: i have 270 on AO3, but i know that that is wildly inaccurate because for a while i wasn't crossposting my tumblr fics on there and i haven't taken the time to rectify that 😂 someday i'll go through and count my fics on here again because i'm overdue for that lmao

2) What's your total AO3 word count?: 1,171,311 the way i'm actually floored by this. i need a moment sksks

3) What fandoms do your write for?: i'll try anything once! 😂 nah but i'd say my big Heavy Hitter fandoms are: Sons of Anarchy, Mayans MC, Narcos & Narcos Mexico, Kingsman, The Bear, Marvel, Top Gun: Maverick, Altered Carbon, Suicide Squad, Outer Banks... although i've written for a smattering of other fandoms when the mood strikes 😌

6) What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?: i have multiple fics that end with major character death, so i would say definitely one of those 😂 if anyone is looking to get their heart broken like that, drop me a line and i'll rec them to you lmao. but i know off the top of my head i have multiple No Happy Ending Major Character Death Endings for Narcos and Mayans

7) What's a fic you wrote with the happiest ending?: oooo i know i write a lot of angst but i have a lot of fluff for all of my fandoms too. i think that one of my happiest fics is Just One Week. i feel like that's a generally fluffy fic from top to bottom with the exception of a few moments

8) Do you get hate on fics?: not really! i think it helps that these days i tend to write for smaller fandoms.

9) Do you write smut?: i do! for the longest time i didn't, or i'd try to avoid it like the plague. it's still not my strongest suit or necessarily my preference but i've gotten more comfortable writing it as time has gone on

10) Craziest crossover?: ohhhhh i gotta thank @ashlingiswriting for this one. i wrote a Narcos & Suicide Squad crossover and i think about it every day all the time. i also have some other crossovers in my head that haven't made it onto paper yet. but one day! (fic is called Family Reunion and you can find it HERE)

11) Have you ever had a fic stolen?: not to my knowledge!

12) Have you ever had a fic translated?: no, but i have had people reach out and ask to. i get kinda nervous about other people posting my fics even if it's just a translation so i usually just air on the side of caution. but i do appreciate people having taken the time to ask!

13) Have you ever cowritten a fic before?: not formally, but honestly between my friends in the narcos discord, and chats with @withmyteeth and @garbinge i feel like i sort of have 😂

14) All time favorite ship?: ohhhhh maaaaaaaaaan. i. i don't know. i think i ship so many people with so many people it's hard to have a favorite 😂 i've clocked a serious number of hours thinking/writing about: Harry Hart/Eggsy Unwin, Steve Rogers/Bucky Barnes, Bucky Barnes/Natasha Romanoff, Rick Flag/Harley Quinn, Sydney Adamu/Richie Jerimovich.....also lets be so real if i've written an OC pairing i still think about them to this day even if i haven't written for them in a while lmfao

15) What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?: that's quitter talk!!! i don't care how long it's been since i've updated i still fully intend to add onto all of my wips and finish them lol

16) What are your writing strengths?: i think my strength has almost always been dialogue. i think the chronic rewatcher in me really lends itself to that haha

17) What are your writing weaknesses?: smut is not my strong suit. never has been. probably never will be 😂 also just to keep it a buck i feel like i don't have the mental stamina for a lot of research to go into my fics. it's super hit or miss. i'm just here to have a good time and i can't always be bothered to fact-check 😂

18) Thoughts on dialogue in another language?: i've written multiple fics that have dialogue in Spanish! it's fun and a bit of a challenge but i very much enjoy it. i have plans for an OC who also speaks in sign language along with English and Spanish. i think that's going to be more challenging as well but i look forward to it!

19) First fandom you wrote in?: back in my quizilla days (RIP to a legend) i was biiiiiig into writing bandfic. however, i'd say that once i hit got towards the end of middle school and really got into writing fanfic, my first fics were Marvel, followed by Kingsman a handful of years later!

20) Favorite fic you've ever written?: oh man. like trying to pick a favorite child! 😂 i do think that Just One Week is always going to be in my top fic rotation. Protective Detail is up there as well, along with really any of my Kingsman longfics on AO3 🥰

It had been curly once. Louis had seen pictures of him innocent with wide green eyes and a wider, bright white, toothy grin. Everything about him screamed privilege.

Your sonnets are otherworldly, a fact you stand unaware of, evident in how you frown as your fingers drag the quill in soft, finishing strokes over some yellowing parchment. Almost nobody notices how your face contorts as you go through every single line of the sonnet, and it is sacrilege to the highest.

For your face turned up in concentration is magnificent, as if carved by a lover in a past life. Your steady, long fingers grip the silver quill with apprehensive purpose as they push and pull across the parchement, threading together words into universes.

Why is why I pray to everything holy that someday you wrap your fingers around me, and morph me into your silver feathered quill, so that I also utter the coruscating poetry you scribble in the margins of worn parchements, with a brow quirked up and lip turned down in a concentration heavier than rocks resting at the bottom of a vast ocean.

Hi, I'm searching three differents fics wich I forgot the names but the plot is like this:

1.- it was a pinning harry fic where they was writing letters to one another during summer before the 8th year post war, harry and draco were friends now but harry was like "draco is so cool, and so smart, and so handsome, and...", always pinning over draco and every one is like "is 6th year all over again" and he is the only cute dummy who doesn't know that he is in love.

2. - it started when harry and dumbledore where coming back of the crave of horrors after find the "horrocrux" and they where out of hogwarts, in hogsmade I belive, and harry was thinking of draco with a coin in his hand (like the one the DA use to comunicate, but in this he gave one to draco) obviusly pinning over him. He and draco where in kind of a relationship but with no filings involved, and they're so obviusly in love that are so cute, they mention that they are in that relationship since thinrd year, but then just with kisses and now with sex. I think here was a not explicit bottom harry fic cause is mentioned that he like when draco is so dominant, but I think it wasn't in the tags.

3.- the final one was where harry was a prostitute and draco is one of his clients, a frequent one, and harry is in love with him and think about how he only really enjoy sex when is with draco, how he wait him to come over always and want him to take care of him, to love him; during this he was with another client and when is over draco came and say something like "I want to be different to you, I want to take care of you like anyone else" or something like that, after that they make sweet love :3

All are one shots but aren't shorts, except for the last one that wasn't long but not short eather. The first to was in Ao3 and the last one was in fanfiction.

Regarding the talk about blp versus bhk - as someone who does read both and visit(ed) both blogs, I would say you can definitely tell a difference. I don't know much about the mods on bhk so I can't really speak out,

(2) but from what I've seen they are friendly and open-minded! But I mean more in the blogs and the content/how it's presented. Both might be 'themed' and this is of course totally fine, I don't see a problem at all in having a blog specifically about something, or have fic recs for bh/bl - you like what you like. Bhk however, don't claim that they're 'right' and 'you are wrong' and that is that. They simply have a themed blog. They post manips and fic recs and outside of that they post ACTUAL

(3) THINGS that happened. They post all the things that happen and don't ignore anything to fit a top/bottom stereotype. They post 'scruffy Harry', they posted the long-haired Louis pictures. ✨the queue✨: a guide

the queue is great! it's helpful if you want to post regularly or if you have lots of posts you want to reblog but don't want to do all at once.

you can queue posts by either a) clicking the reblog button > clicking the arrow next to it once it opens the page where you can add comments > selecting 'add to queue'; or

b) going into settings > clicking on the part that says 'labs' (where tumblr has new features they're working on) > turning on 'fast queue' (this adds a new icon next to the 'reply' and 'reblog' icons where you basically reblog a post but 'add to queue' is the default).

and why would i want to post regularly, you ask? well, the more you post (and the more diverse posts you have), the more likely it is for your posts to reach more people. accurate tags help with this, too. it also helps if you need to post at a consistent schedule for whatever reason, but can't always log on at the same time every day.

if you want to queue your posts at more random times, go into labs and turn on 'queue 2.0'. this enables a more detailed way to schedule your queued posts. i had to play around with it before i found something i liked, and i suggest you do too.

I really loved Through Eerie Chaos, so instead of asking something about each of your fics I'll just settle on that one ! 4 & 14 please !!!

What's your favourite line of dialogue?

I’m a big fan of this exchange just because I amused myself so much: 

Harry pushes it off with the tip of his fingers, making it fly backwards before it falls to the floor with a small thud. “I’m aiming for struggling artist, not Irish mafia!” he says eyebrows furrowed, but his lips are twitching as he tries to hold back a smile at his own dig at Niall’s ancestry. 

“O-kay Mister,” Niall replies, putting his hand up.“So, Leo Dicaprio in Titanic, right? Dashing, romantic lead?”

Harry huffs as he turns around and bends down to pick up the fedora. “I’m not a dashing romantic lead!”

He squeaks when Niall smacks his bottom lightly with a cackle. “‘Course you’re the dashing romantic lead, who else would it be? Me?” he says with a grimace. He pushes his glasses up his nose. “I’m the lovable nerd who is right about everything and makes everyone laugh until they piss themselves, sooooo.”

“If anyone is the romantic lead it’s Zayn,” Harry argues, still trying to see if he’s going to rattle Niall about it. He stares at him for a beat, hoping he’ll start blushing, before continuing. “I mean, he’s dark and brooding? Amazing cheekbones? Eyelashes for days?” Harry counts them all on his fingers.

Niall passes a hand through his hair and clears his throat. “Well.”

“And that leather jacket? Honestly that’s a James Dean vibe if I’ve ever seen one,” Harry continues, pretending to be impressed.

“What?” Niall replies in a small voice. “You like him or something?”

Or : 

“There’s more freedom in a second spent with you than there is in a lifetime in the present, Louis. What is it worth? To hold a man’s hand in front of the whole world, if he’s not the person I love? If the person I love is here ?”

This is actually one of the very first lines I wrote for tec and it was kind of a snapshot of the ending of Harry’s emotional arc? Kind of a goal for me to help me figure out where I was going? Like this is where I need Harry to be at the end of his journey so how do I make that happen for him and Louis type of thing?? I’m very fond of it because not only is it quite an emotional moment, but also it’s a very pivotal one. It’s when we’re meant to realise that it’s not a spontaneous or impulsive decision that he’s made, that he knows the consequences of his actions and he knows why he’s doing it.  

Is there anything you wanted readers to learn from reading this fic?

Oh.... Not really? Nothing specific comes to mind, except maybe to trust me? Because I really wanted to play with tropes and expectations with this fic yk? Because so much of fic is foreseeable and plays into the same tropes and storylines - which is lovely - but between that and having to tag every little detail, there’s not a lot of space left to be surprised by a story or to read something where you truly have no idea what’s going to happen. And there’s comfort in that as a reader of course, just like Harry recently said about romcoms, but being surprised and immersed into a story and having that feeling where you just need to know what happens because you have no fucking clue and it’s killing you is such an enjoyable experience. And that’s very much the kind of story I wanted to try to write. For many reasons. (Mostly to see if I could and to challenge myself.) So I was purposefully misleading in my summary and I was purposefully vague in the tagging, not because I don’t think tagging is important or anything like that, but just because I wanted people to have as little of an idea of what was going on as possible. And I debated about what to tag and not tag for a really long time. The angst with a happy ending tag or the happy ending tag almost made it lol. Because I knew that a ghost fic would turn people off if it didn’t have them, yk? So yeah, I guess I hoped that people would know the type of stories that I write and read (I’ve literally never written an unhappy ending and I don’t even read them lol) and that they would trust that and still read tec even if I was a bit of a vague bitch haha.
