i wish i wasnt so particular with modding games. i want to finally commit to a stardew valley 1.6 playthrough but i struggle to find a balance between mods and vanilla... i feel similar with the sims, where mods make me feel kind of heavy while i'm playing, but i feel restricted without the customization options given with cc. at least with the sims though i'm used to it and know how to find a good balance

it's probably why i've always been able to commit more to stardew when i play it on switch instead, bc i don't even have the option to mod it so it's kind of out of sight out of mind. but then when i want to decorate my farm i end up feeling immense fomo over custom buildings and map reclolors and stuff :/ so then i start a playthough w mods on pc and never make it past summer y1 because i'm overwhelmed w options and updating mods and the like. it's frustrating lmao and then i just don't play at all and do other stuff w my free time instead

#anyone else like this or just me. idk #its probably related to my personal brand of autism #keep in mind i have like... over 1k hrs in stardew across platforms and have been playing since launch. idk why i cant find a mod balance #anyway hi! im still on hiatus from the sims. played a bit of ts2 a couple weeks ago. been playing a ton of overwatch though #and botw! i'm doing a new 100% run #i want to finally 100% totk bc i didnt really have time/motivation to when it came out last year #eliposting

#this is what i get for putting off this fight for the first 20-ish hours of act 3 #but also i have a mod this time that lets us go beyond lvl 12 (so long as we multiclass) and i'm very excited about it #because i have a ton of things left to as we're already over level 12 #we will at LEAST hit 13 which will finally let me have the rogue 8/cleric 5 leveling i wanted #also tbh i thought lorroakan's myrmidons had higher hp like they only had 120ish #i put off this fight for so long and for what #rosie plays games kind of okay #ah shit here we go again

i want the thousand year door remake so bad i wish i still had a nintendo switch and i wish i had 60 more dollars for the game but it's ok because i have a gamecube emulator that lags when you're trying to do perfect action commands

#just finished the game completely with no mods or cheats for the second time ever and i'm about to replay it again to 100%#last time i beat it was on the gamecube 15-20 years ago #i've played it tons of times but i was always using cheat codes that gave me overpowered badges & shit lmao #i think that was only the 3rd or 4th time i've completely beaten the whole thing though i restart the game from the beginning a lot #bc i'm like wait i wanna try something new #that fuckin long ass intro though ughhh #.bdo

okay, i definitely will then! and oh boy haha i play with over 80 mods so there's a lot, i'll give a little list of my very favorites

stardew valley expanded & ridgeside village / expanded fits better with the game imo and i don't think i would recommend using them both at the same time if you're starting out with mods but i love them both!

wildflower grass

seasonal villager outfits i guess it's not available anymore :( but it's a must have for me

babies take after spouse

npc map locations

show item sell price

winter grass

canon friendly dialogue expansion

elle's new coop & barn animals

#there's a ton more but they're mostly aesthetic the biggest game changing ones are the expansions #i don't think i could ever go back to unmodded stardew honestly after playing with so many mods it feels a little empty without them #💌#oh also im still on year one of this farm so theres not much actual farm yet haha its pretty much just trees and rocks rn

I’m really torn on what class to make Juneth/Junath (still haven’t decided which I’m going with) Mahariel… One the one hand, rogue makes more sense for a Dalish hunter (not just in terms of archery, but also like, to sneak up on animals, you need to be, well, *sneaky*), which Mahariel seems to be(?) (although they’re apprenticed to Master Ilen, a craftsman, so maybe not?), and also means that the pre-game Mahariel/Merrill/Tamlen trio had one of each class, which is fun. On the other hand, warrior works better for choice in party composition (rogue requires Alistair for like 95% of the time, because you get Oghren late and. I don’t think Mahariel will be a huge fan of him. and I need a warrior), and the specializations work better with my lore (in my Mahariel worldstate, I’ve decided that the Presence in the life gem you get the arcane warrior specialization from is actually a desire spirit pulling a Cole of sorts, who Mahariel willingly hosts and is granted his more supernaturally specialization abilities by)—the idea of Juneth/Junath getting berserker- and reaver- (and, in DAA, spirit warrior-) esque abilities through possession is very fun to me.
