if we’re getting to use abilities in hypdream, my biggest hope is that they define what all dice’s speaker combinations can do like in the manga:

3 posse stars allows for all three of them to use a combined attack as pictured above

3 lightning bolts give an attack boost to dice

3$even gives the team 10x their power for an attack boost

2 sevens and a lightning bolt results in his speakers attacking his team, and maybe you can infer any miss will provide the same result

2 sevens and a posse star is typically a dud but there’s a 1/8192 chance of a reroll with that particular dud lol

I'll start by saying I love JK so, so much. Adore him. Will always support him.

But for me, 3D is a misstep.

My feeling is Hybe should have reconsidered releasing it as it is.

JK's lyrics are fun and sexy. The innuendo is on point. The melody is great and the chorus has excellent sing-along value. Even though I'm not a huge pop music fan, I like the vibe.

The MV dancers are awesome, and I got a kick out of the fire hydrant metaphor.

And in that jacket with nothing under it, JK looks hot enough to melt asphalt.

However....

Including Jack Harlow's rap IMO is a mistake. It sucks, frankly. Not in a good way.

It not only misses the mark on the tone of the rest of the song but his lyrics are really just offensive. Misogynistic. And racial refrences are just... not cricket. It's 2023 not 1995, regardless of what his hairstyle tells you.

His lyrics sound like an incel bragging about their sex life when all they've ever done is watch porn. From his words, I doubt he knows how to please any person but himself.

His message is gross, but its still just... generic. Like he went to urban dictionary for spicy language and then googled how to treat women like shit. There's nothing original about what he's saying. He's not even being gross in an intersting way. It's gross AND boring.

I've been army since 2018 and this is the first BTS song I have tried to find merit in and given up.

I honestly tried to be into it and i just... can't. It doesn't sit well with me.

This is a new experience for me because even when BTS release something i don't immediately love, i still stream and watch and let it sink in, or I work on figuring out what I am missing and why it's ACTUALLY good even if i can't grasp it.

This... it's just... not good, in my opinion.

I have to clarify here...

It isn't about explicit content, i am totally down for that. If anyone read my post on Seven, they will know my response to that song. In a nutshell, I believe all adults who want to, should happily and shamelessly be doing ALL the horizontal tango. Every type, every day, in every way. With anyone and everyone they fancy as long as all parties are informed and consenting adults who are equally enjoying the experience.

Yes. I am all about getting down.

That doesn't mean treating your partners like a body count or using and abusing them with no consideration. That's not cool.

Now, back to the smut.

Some criticisms i saw of Seven were about how dirty it was. A few people were upset because JK said fuck, and because he sang about how and when he liked to fuck. But more criticism was levelled at Letto. Why?

It seemed like it was because she's a woman, singing about sex.

Letto totally owns her sexuality and she knows what she wants. I snorted with delight at how deliciously filthy her lyrics were. Some very clever wordplay made her verse so visceral, and pretty shocking to the pearl-clutchers, without her ever saying anything directly. I really enjoyed it.

She was telling us straight up how good she is in bed. Good for her. She totally rocks. And she wasn't disrespecting anyone. She didn't need to do that to make herself cool AF.

The difference between Letto's rap and jack harlow's is that jack sounds like he's just looking at the women he's singing about as a hole to stick his dick in. Women have fought for long enough for equality and respect. They don't need this bullshit. You can sing about getting down, and you can be absolutely filthy and nasty and wild, and you can do it without degrading your partners.

I did read a theory about this song being social commentary on toxic masculinity. You can find it here and you can read it below:

Its not bad as a theory. At least it wouldn't be if Namjoon or Yoongi or Hobi - or Jungkook himself - had written the song. If that were the situation we'd see some inkling of self awareness in the rap, and maybe a hint of character development. But there's none.

Sorry ARMY, this is not the class of lyricism we have come to expect.

If jack is trying to make a social statement^*, or play a character, he is not succeeding in showing any growth or humanity at all. He's really just that stereotype.

In the last few lines, after he offers to fly his victim from Korea to Kentucky, he says "and you ain’t gotta guarantee me nothing I just wanna see if I get lucky."

How considerate...

All I see is zero care factor about the actual person he's trying to get with. Which is quite different from JK's lyrics, which show awareness that he's interacting with a conscious, living human being, not a piece of furniture.

jack follows with "I just wanna meet you in the physical and see if you would touch me"

Ugh. Not with a ten foot pole, douchebag.

And how about, in his first verse "All my ABGs get cute for me"

Good god, really? Is he seriously saying this?

So its a no for me.

The ONLY saving grace is that there's an alternative version which is pretty fun. It's almost as if Hybe knew we would hate the version with jack harlow. Wow, such insight!

Now, i know that's not the only reason they made an alternative. They needed a clean version for US radio play (let's be real, what possible other purpose can this song serve? *°)

But they could have censored jack's... actually they couldn't. The rap verses can't be salvaged. They genuinely have no merit, the only hope for the song is totally removing them.

What does that tell you?

ARMY will no doubt still chart the main track but personally, I would feel morally compromised if i supported that version. So I'll stick to the alternative and hope for better things to come.

Yeah I think I know very well what and who you're talking about - it's likely exactly the same reason why we decided it might be good if we both reblog it again after all this time, to remind people of it and showing why digging up such old stories doesn't really makes sense, since this is something that has been cleared up and fixed long ago and luckily so.🙂

As for why a certain person apparently decided it would be cool or funny or whatever to bring this up again, we can only guess, as we were both quite baffled about it ngl, but we assume it is most likely because they are mad at the two of us. Cause... I don't know if you saw my other post and John's (that's my friend) statement on it? If so then you surely saw that he mentioned how he reached out to this person in an attempt to settle things between me and them and to get them to stop going around and messaging almost everyone I interacted with to "warn" them of me, as they like to call it. This was because there was not much of an other option as me and them both have each other blocked (and even if I would have unblocked them, I could not have messaged them since they would have had me blocked obviously lol) plus I knew they wouldn't have want to talk to me and I wanted to respect that and not stress them out or make them uncomfortable, and since John was also friends with them at this time, they offered to talk to them on my behalf which they did. Now this person did not accept my apology which was fine - they don't have to. But they promised John that they would stop messaging people and tell them bad things about me, yet they didn't stop. In fact it only took a few days for them to break their promise and that's why after a while John cut them off as well and blocked them.

And well, now that I decided to address the issue and he was openly showing his support in that matter, this person is apparently not very pleased with either of us and for some reason apparently thought it would be a good idea to dig up this very old thing and be like "look, that's what it looks like when these two are arguing with each other" which is not only distasteful and hurtful (especially for my friend!) but also kinda silly because they're trying to present it like they just discovered a huge scandal when it was not only very long ago but also never a secret to begin with.

I made a terrible mistake back then because I was hurt (which does not justify it in any way) and there is still not a single day on which I'm not regretting it and I still feel ashamed for what I did, but fact is I did it and I would never deny it. It is not a secret and it never was. What it is, to both me and my friend is a painful memory which we both took as motivation to grow and improve, as people and as friends. We are closer after all of this than we were before - something that makes us both happy and proud and we also worked together on improving our communication with each other, being more considerate of the other's feelings and we also figured out ways to argue respectfully and in a constructive way when we do. So no, despite what this person might think, the things you can see in this post are not what our arguments look like - not anymore.🙂

You are correct! There aren't any of the yoga/hockey fics from Ronan's point of view. I was actually thinking about this the other day. For this AU, I stuck with Adam's POV, and I think I might keep it that way. I like being in his head in this universe for some reason, and all my AU series are always from a single POV (with the exception of one in the farmer's market AU where one is a retelling of the initial fic of the series from Adam's perspective). So I won't say I'll never do a yoga/hockey AU fic from Ronan's POV, but I think they'll probably all be from Adam's. Sorry, anon!

As for what prompted Ronan to finally go to yoga so he could get into Adam's orbit--It just took him a while to grow the balls. He'd been staying with Declan and had been working at The Last Drop for a few months, and was getting to a place where he was comfortable in Alexandria. He saw a two-week new yogi special for the studio and was finally just like "Screw it. Let me give it a shot." He never thought it would actually work out, but he was very, very glad it did. 😊

And they will be going to the Barns in the future! The next planned fic is yoga retreat (to balance the Lake Placid tournament, notice the yoga/hockey/yoga/hockey patterning with the fics 😉) . Then the trivia will fall sometime after that, most likely. I'm also toying with the thought of sending Adam to yoga teacher training? I think they'd both benefit from that, if you know what I mean. 😏

Okay I was very excited when I received the notification for the Namjoon one shot.. I read the warnings, summary word counts etc etc and really whetted my appetite for it and boy THIS WAS A FEAST!!

My first question is Mimi are you married?(I'm asking respectfully) Because how can you capture the marital angst and sweetness with such conviction and tinge of reality through it??? This is crazy good and I mean it as a genuine compliment because I literally felt like a spectator in their home witnessing their beautifully flawed but genuinely loving relationship... The cracks, compromise, promises, feeling burdened and sad, the companionship between them made me so emotional and i felt like I was flowing along side 😂😅

My favourite part about them definitely has to be the OCs constant reminder of the author status by stashing books, those emails, the fact she gifted him a type writer.. And the last note he wrote as an acknowledgement in the book MADE ME TEAR UP.. Her support even if it was covert meant a lot to me as a reader because it reflected on her character of being a supportive kind human who knew what had been at stake when he decided to pick up a job to earn.. I understand that struggle in this generation where we need to pick what feeds our stomach over what feeds our heart these days and it's heart breaking (on that note I feel joyous that bts really follow their passion everyday as a career bcz not everyone has the luxury, blessing or the drive to make it come True)

The smut scenes also captured their marital equation so well... From hurried to sweet and interrupted by that office call to being feeling needed and wanting to convey through actions what words can't say - it was all well placed in the story line and not once felt unnecessary ♥️

I mean to say a lot more but my convulated sentence structure really messes it all up😂

To answer your question, no I’m not married, but there’s a bit of the cracks, the compromise, the promises, the sweetness and the comfort in being in a 10-year relationship haha it’s flawed but there’s still so much love. I’m so glad you felt like you were there, watching it, too. I wanted something real yet hopeful, subtle but the fear of losing it all is heartbreaking.

And that’s my favorite part of writing OC! The covert quiet love that made sure nj didn’t forget what mattered, even if it was all she could do. There’s so much to say about passion vs. practical and this was what I was rly thinking about, and I agree. Not everyone is that lucky, and sometimes there’s more at stake than just following our dreams; we don’t always have to completely let it go, tho. But with joon’s love for art and literature and music, it felt so natural to to weave everything in 🙂 And rly glad you enjoyed the smut scenes, too. More Hunger Games AU ramblings under the cut!

I’m fully on board with your Ivan District 2 idea, especially with the special privileges to move between D1 and D2. That’s such a big brain way to tie into his canonical lack of a collar (my genuine reaction when I read that: 🤯). Plus that means he still knows Sua and has maybe seen Luka around, if not spoken to him before.

I like to think that Ivan and Sua had some sort of agreement that they would work together up until a certain point in the games and then have a good clean fight at the end to settle an old score of who would come out on top. But then Ivan sees Till again and Sua meets Mizi and they both essentially say: “I’ve found someone I’m willing to die for and I will kill you without a moment’s hesitation to keep them safe.” But like, respectfully lol.

If Acorn and Durian are both District 11, then that would leave Till in District 12, but I think that could still work. He’s rebellious, so sneaking into the forest makes sense. There could be wild clematis flowers growing out there that he finds himself drawn to. Till is also very passionate, which leans into the fire motif. His anger often boils over and sets everything around him ablaze. He also has a strong association with the color red.

(Part of me thinks the fiery red sky the night Ivan and Till attempted to escape was more tied to Till than Ivan. Every other time we see a meteor shower from Ivan’s POV, the sky is always dark.)

Sua’s sacrifice and Mizi’s subsequent downward spiral could also spur the rebels into action. They watch the games every year, looking for tributes they could easily rescue and recruit, and Hyuna sees her younger self in Mizi. She sees the person she was after Hyunwoo died. So she decides the rebels will save Mizi in the way she would’ve wanted to be saved back then.

Luka would be a formidable mentor/sponsor because he knows exactly how to play the game, both inside and outside the arena. He’s manipulative, cunning, and ultimately shameless if it means he gets to win. He sees the tributes and other sponsors as his dolls to toy with as he desires. But I wonder, with Sua gone, would he turn against Mizi as well?

Hyuna gives me huge Katniss/Lucy vibes too! Though if her owner is wealthy and notable, then District 12 might not be the best fit. I don’t know much about Phan since I’m not a patron, but your description of them is sounds more like someone from District 5.

There’s so many cool outfit ideas for a district like this! I think Hyuna would go with something loud. Something that makes a statement. Maybe her whole outfit lights up. Or she’s draped in power lines and wires that connect to high voltage amps so she can shred on her electric guitar as the District 5 chariot rolls in.

As for Hyunwoo’s outfit, I’m not sure. He’d probably pick something complimentary to his sister, but maybe less flashy? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this.

Totally agree with you on Till, I need to see him go apeshit at least once. He may not have the heart to kill a person unprovoked, but I wonder if he would if it meant protecting someone he cares about… like Mizi?

I have a very loose idea that maybe Till saw Mizi on television before (possibly something music related?) and began idolizing her after that, similar to canon. Seeing her for the first time in the lead up to the games makes him fall for her and want to protect her. Thus, he’d kill to keep her safe. But we don’t know if he’d do the same for Ivan (gotta get my angst in there somewhere).

Weapons talk! Mizi with brass knuckles, hell yeah!! She could also have a crossbow for long range engagements, since a gun like the one she has canonically wouldn’t really be fair :p

Agree with Till having a bat, or possibly one of those hammers coal miners use as a call back to his home district. Maybe add some spikes on there too.

Sua should definitely have both the dagger and the throwing knives. There could be poison on the knives as well (Luka’s idea/sponsor gift).

Ivan’s primary weapons are his hands for sure. He can snap necks like Cato did. Quick, no cleanup, and quiet. He’s logically efficient even when it comes to death. I think it’d still be helpful if he had a backup weapon. Actually, wait— Since Ivan is so good at adapting, he could just pick up and use the weapons left by fallen tributes! It would work with his character of mimicking to fit in.

I’ve gotta get an Ivan/Mizi besties moment in there somewhere, so after Sua dies but before the rebels come, Till and Ivan come upon where Mizi is hiding out and decide to team up and take care of her. Till acts very similar to canon, getting all flustered easily and not being the greatest at conversation because he keeps tripping over his own feelings. Ivan is also similar to canon, so he and Mizi find they get along well. Mizi notices that Ivan doesn’t have a weapon and insists on giving him one set of her brass knuckles.

I could probably do a whole post on ceremony outfit ideas because there’s SO MUCH to play around with, reference, etc etc.

Ivan and Till accidentally matching outfits that represent a pinnacle moment in both of their lives that has changed them irreparably… I would never emotionally recover…

The Capitol would go insane with shipping rumors and theories about them omg. Ivan plays right into the narrative (just like Peeta did) to charm and gain favor with sponsors. He also laces in a bit of truth in how he really feels about Till. But Till thinks it’s all part of the act (fake dating au stans rise up). Their prince and pauper, childhood friends to star crossed lovers storyline would do numbers!
